Federalism Essay
Federalism
The Constitution of the United States was drafted at a time when our country was in dire need of many
answers to political and social questions. In addition to many other things, the drafters of the
Constitution were concerned with solidifying our central government and the Constitution was
intended to provide a solid structure from which our burgeoning nation could grow. The Constitution
gave explicit powers to the federal government and provided the states with the Tenth Amendment
which states , Powers not delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the states, are reserved to
the states respectively #8230; Of the enumerated powers given to the federal government by the
Constitution, the interpretation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dual Federalism also relies on the notion that in a court of law, the Tenth Amendment gives the states
enough support to declare unconstitutional any act of the national government that infringes on the
reserved powers given to the states. Cooperative Federalism provides an entirely different view of the
relationship between the federal and state governments. Federal supremacy is the hallmark of this
ideology. Supporters of the cooperative federalist view prefer to employ a broad interpretation of the
Constitution. The legal basis on which cooperative federalism has been argued is threefold: (1)
Enumerated powers (e.g. Commerce Clause) should be interpreted in light of an expansive Necessary
and Proper Clause (2) The Supremacy Clause, as prescribed in Article 6, paragraph 2, gives federal
actions supremacy over state laws when made in pursuance of the Constitution and when they are
made using implied and enumerated powers (3) The Tenth Amendment does not give states the power
to contest federal laws. To suggest that that these two ideologies are contradictory is an
understatement. To understand which theory best identifies with the correct interpretation of the
Constitution, it is necessary to understand the circumstances that created the necessity for a
Constitution and the political circumstances that motivated decisions contrary to the correct
interpretation of the Constitution. The

Social Cultural Reality Theory in Action
72251 Intercultural Communication
Assignment 1
Melissa Peters

Short answers
Q. 1. Challenge DeVito, O Rourke and O Neill s (2000) definition of culture using Richards (1999) or
Anae (1997). How do DeVito et al look at membership within a culture and how does Richards see it
differently?
DeVito, O Rourke and O Neill s (2000, p.99) definition of culture is very limited when describing
modern cultures of globalised human society. Perhaps where people are isolated to villages, towns or
countries with little communication with the outside world, the definition would be completely
workable. But now, due to access of information, global trade, travel and immigration etc the world is
becoming more and more an eclectic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay
Social amp; Cultural reality theory in action
Melissa Peters
Bachelor of Arts Student, Open Polytechnic
Introduction
How is it we know when to laugh, cry or shout? Or when it would be rude or inappropriate to do so?
Why is it we value integrity, honesty, respect...or not? And where do our religious or spiritual beliefs
and practices come from?
This essay looks at theories of social construction and their part in the development of cultural and
societal realities. We look at constructivism as a means of learning social norms, values, beliefs etc
using examples from the production Tapu (Smith and Haami, 2000). In particular we ll address the
theories of emotional construction and rule governing.
So what is social construction?
Social construction is the idea that our understanding of reality derives from interaction with others. It
refers to the way we create meaning and understanding to build collectively held beliefs. These beliefs
are called social constructions or constructs .
In the 1967 book, The Social Construction of Reality, Berger and Luckmann argue that all knowledge,
including the most basic, taken for granted common sense knowledge of everyday reality, is derived
from and maintained by social interactions. (Wikipedia, 2012).
Culture is a vital aspect of

Essay On Elbow Dislocation
After the diagnosis from the orthopedic doctor of a posterior elbow dislocation, the athlete was
instructed to wear a mobilization brace locked out at thirty degrees until his next follow up
appointment. During this time, gentle range of motion activities began involving the wrist and the
elbow in both flexion and extension. The athlete also worked on grip strength with putty, increasing
the time and intensity as needed. In addition to these activities, isometric elbow contractions added to
the intensity of the rehabilitation. After the rehabilitation sessions finished, the athlete iced the injured
area.
The athlete began to heat the injured area before beginning his exercise to help promote increasing
range of motion. Both active and passive stretching of the elbow and wrist assists the athlete in
increasing range of motion as well. The athletic trainers added hammer pronation/supination exercises

However, the athlete still wore the brace while walking outside due to the ice on the ground for
protection in case he fell. The use of the upper body ergometer was added to help increase range of
motion and strength of the arm. The team physician cleared the athlete to begin closed chain activities.
Wall pushups were then added to the athlete s rehabilitation program.
Next, the athletic training staff added elbow curls and extension to the athlete s rehabilitation program.
Also, the athlete began upper body proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation exercises in both the D1
and D2 patterns to work on entire arm strength in flexion and extension.
Once the athlete mastered the wall pushups, the intensity increased to table pushups and then to chair
pushups. The athlete began to feel confidence in himself in activities of daily living and did not feel as
if he would drop something if he held onto it for an extended period of

Difference Between Corporate Governance And The Uk Public...
Critically analysis the key differences and similarities between corporate governance in the uk public
and private sectors.
Corporate Governance and laws or regulations related to it affect both the private and the public sector
in the UK. There are key differences and similarities in their corporate governance practice and can
affect how businesses run under governance codes which they must follow. The UK corporate
governance code affects the private sector and focuses on Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability,
Remuneration, Relations with shareholders. The public sector has Accounts and Audit Regulations
among others to follow which has its own rules and regulations which are legally required.
Corporate governance in itself has no single definition but common principles which it should follow.
For example in 1994 the most agreed term for corporate governance was the process of supervision
and control intended to ensure that the company s management acts in accordance with the interest of
shareholders (Parkinson, 1994)1. Corporate governance code is not a direct set of rules but a self
regulated framework which businesses choose to follow. This code has continued to change in the past
20 years in accordance with what is happening in the business world. For example the Enron scandal
caused reform in corporate governance with the Higgs Report which corrected the issues which were
necessary. Although it does not quickly fix problems, it gives a better framework to

The Decline Of Californian Giant Kelp Forests
The Decline of Californian Giant Kelp Forests
Kelp forests are seen as the ultimate ecological engineer in coastal areas. They exist in marine
environments spanning in southern California, Aleutian Islands, and the western north Atlantic. Light,
latitude, and water temperature and nutrients all play a role in facilitating the growth of kelp forests all
around the world, (Bolton). Kelp specifically dominates the shallow rocky coasts of the world s cold
water marine habitats. Although they look as a free growing plant, they are in fact primarily of brown
algae. These structures provide food and shelter to a huge mix of biota, including crabs, sea urchins,
mollusks, and other marine organisms (Steneck). The fronds, or large leaves of the kelp are the
distinctive feature that can represent where a specific kelp may be found. The sizes of these organisms
can range from the smallest found near California and Alaska at 5m to giant kelp up to 45m in length
found on the west coasts of North and South America (Hamilton).
One specific species found most commonly is the Laminaria prominently found in the northern
hemisphere except for the eastern pacific. Kelp themselves are not very diverse at the taxonomical
level. However, the coast of California contains the most diverse flora, 20 species across 16 genera to
be exact. Although their taxonomic diversity may be low, their diversity exists at the structural and
functional levels. Kelp have specific characteristics such as their trumpet

Authority In The Muslim World
The topic of religious authority in the Muslim world has been a debate since the beginning of early
Islam. The debate of authority was centralized over who was able to elucidate the meaning of the texts
of revelation. Over time, the superiority of who had the right to interpret the religious texts and guide
the community changed from the pre modern to the modern period.
The fuqaha were elite religious scholars, or members of a wealthy family, that rose to power in 700
(Lecture, October 19). The fuqaha understood collective responsibility by the use of Fard al kifayah,
which represents a ritual obligation a Muslim community can fulfill for the whole (Lecture, October
24). They presumed the masses, such as the peasants, would be unable to follow ... Show more content

Neo traditionalists base what they do on the four schools of law and gives interpretive authority in
scholars and teachers. It is different from the other trends because they still practice traditional schools
of law. However, they are not any different from pre modern views of fuqaha authority. Warith Deen
Muhammad is a neo traditional social reformer that based his views of how to create a just Muslim
society on different schools to create an American school of Islamic thought. He also emphasized
economic reform and economic empowerment. Revivalists break from Muhammad Abduh s
movement and focused on rational individual s interpretations of the Qur an and Hadith. They also
create their own systems of welfare so they are not dependent on the state. Revivalism is different
from the other trends because it focuses on the individuals and emphasizes the ability of anybody to
read the Qur an and Hadith and decide what they are supposed to do with it. It is different from pre
modern ideas of authority because it strictly relies on the individual and not the collective. Violent
Revivalism represents the groups such as ISIS and Al Qaeda. They reject the idea of a separation of
the group and society and use violence to do so. This group is different from the others because

The Relationship Between Punishment And Positions Of Power
Positions of Power
Rachel A. Wood
Columbia Southern University
Abstract
The proposed research assess if military individuals in a position of power who have committed a
sexual assault were held to a lesser standard than individuals who were not in a position of power. In
addition, this research examines the perception of the military s belief that a position has its privileges.
This paper defines at least 65 percent of sexual assaults occur at a military location, with 89 percent of
women stating the offender was in the military, and 60 percent of service members said the culprit was
a higher rank, supervisor, or a unit leader (Morral, Gore, Shell, 2014b, p. 101). Furthermore, this
research has shown that more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to an individual s position in the military, could that position determine the reason individuals
have been able to get away with sexual assault and remain in the military? Does the current issue lie
with the military justice system s view on these types of positions? Could it be an issue with the men
in a position of power that make up the top ninety one percent of the highest ranking individuals in the
military (Chemaly, 2014)? Would this propose the reason why they were able to retire or receive a
lesser punishment than those of a lower ranking position? Do the current documented surveys,
methods of collecting data and empirical research show the relationship of outcomes consistently
mitigated, were of those cases involving high ranking individuals in positions of power?
Problem Statement
Has the exposure of sexual assault high profile cases involving positions of power who have received
a lesser conviction than the military members not in a position of power show the difference that they
are not held to the same standard as lower ranking positions? The purpose of this study is to assess the
differences in sexual assault outcomes and if they can be explained by the accused s position of power.
In the military, sexual assault cases have happened more often than

Post Traumatic Brain Injury Essay
Traumatic brain injury can result in longterm or lifelong physical, cognitive, behavioral, and
emotional consequences (US Dept. of Health and Human Services, 1998). I believe that traumatic
brain injuries and post concussion syndrome, along with the lingering to lasting effects they can have,
should have more long term studies done. There are high percentages of military, as well as athletes,
which are diagnosed with both. My thought is that more knowledge and literature should be required
to be in place for the general public because of the fact that they can happen to anyone, even after
something as simple as a fall. My proposal is that easier access to statistics and data, in the form of
small journals or leaflets, should be made more readily available in doctors offices, clinics, locker
rooms, recruitment centers and the like, so that people can be better informed about the risks and
endangerment that can come from certain activities and combat situations. A mild TBI is Defined as

Credible In The Media Analysis
In a work where news gets thrown in our faces right , left and center , it becomes difficult to filter out
which news is true and which is not. But , before asking how to filter out the news , we need to ask
ourselves why should we have to categorise the news as credible or non credible ? Why would the
person writing this article wouldn t want to lie to me ? Many times a journalist may get a story from a
source who may or may not be very honest or in some rare cases journalists may make up stories with
twisted facts and misquoting individuals. However, in the media business , when someone makes a
mistake , there s always ten others who are waiting to point it out. What makes the media credible, to

Components Of The Clutch Pack
There are three components that forms the clutch assembly. They are the clutch pack, one way clutch
and the band. These components help in the gear shifting and to have a smooth driving. CLUTCH
PACK The clutch pack contains alternating disks that fit inside a clutch drum in which half of the
discs are made up of steel. These disks have splines which fit inside the clutch drum on the respective
groves. The other half consists of a friction material bonded to their surface. These disks also have
splines but on the inner side which fit into the groves on the outer surface of the adjoining hub. At
appropriate times, the clutch pack is squeezed together by a piston which is present inside the clutch
drum that is activated by oil pressure so that the two components become locked and turn as one. ONE
WAY CLUTCH One way clutch is a device which have the effect just like that of a bicycle, where it
allows a component to turn freely in one direction but not in the other. One way clutch is also called as
sprang clutch. This is mainly used in ring gear so that it will not turn in opposite direction. One way
clutch is commonly used in the first gear. For example, place the gear shifter in drive position and give
acceleration. The vehicle begins to move normally and when the acceleration is released the vehicle
continues to move freely as if the vehicle is in neutral.

It would be an honor to be of the few Nevadan students at the school for me. When researching Baylor
University, I discovered so many factors that influence my decision to attend there. One major factor
is the fact that Baylor University has smaller class ratios and the professors genuinely care about their
students which is a factor most universities lack. I want to expand my academic knowledge and obtain
excellent education opportunities. Another reason of mine is that there is school spirit and a sense of
tradition among the students. I grew up in a small town where our school culture and spirit is
incredibly popular. When I go off to college, I want to have the same experience again. My third and
the final reason is that I want to be part of a university that is rapidly growing and expanding. Baylor
University is slowly gaining national recognition. The University is also undergoing a more selective
acceptance rate which shows that the University is determined to accept students who are hard
workers and committed to Baylor. If I am accepted into Baylor University, it would be such an honor.

Hodgkin s Lymphoma Case Study
The disease that I chose is Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin s lymphoma (NLPHL), a type

battling it. One day I was a normal teenager and the next, I was getting to know the Hematology
Oncology clinic that I d be spending a numerous amount of days in. Hodgkin s lymphoma can affect
anyone, all the way from a baby to a 114 year old lady. But NLPHL usually affects 30 40 year old
men, which I am neither. To say my diagnosis was a surprise would be an understatement. I had some

chemo they are, but not limited to, hair loss, mouth sores, nausea, diarrhea and fatigue. And for

Limitations Of Public Education
Empowered or Limited When it comes to the topic of education, most of us will readily agree that
receiving an education is necessary and important to daily life. Where this agreement usually ends,
however, is on the question of limitations. Whereas some are convinced that public education limits it
students, others maintain that it empowers them. My own view is that public education limits students
because there is a lack of autonomy, a focus on segregation, and a very real pressure to succeed. The
standard way of thinking about education is to believe that it empowers students, however some argue
that it actually limits a student s individuality. In his essay Against School , John Gatto demonstrates
how the public educational system places limitations on its students. Gatto is an award winning
educator and has taught in public schools for almost twenty years. According to Gatto, We could
encourage the best qualities of youthfulness.... simply by being more flexible about time, text, and
tests....and by giving each student what autonomy he or she needs in order to take a risk every now
and then. But we don t do that. (Gatto p. 115). In other words, public education has the ability to
empower students, but because of the strict structure, focus on testing, and lack of autonomy, it is
more restricting than empowering. Many people assume that students going to an IVY league school
are the brightest of their peers when it comes to academics. When given an inside look at these
prestigious, best of the best institutions, we encounter something different than what we expect.
William Deresiewicz attended Columbia University and was a professor at Yale, and he sates, most of
them seemed content to color within the lines that their education has marked out for them. Very few
were passionate about ideas. (Deresiewicz p. 203). Deresiewicz s point is that IVY League students
aren t very willing to go beyond that which they have been taught in the classroom. What s the
purpose of separating these students from their peers, who may not be as gifted academically, if they
do not take their education beyond what they are formally taught. Segregation does not happen just at
the college level, but also at

Quebec s Far Right Steps Out Of The Shadows
Québec s far right steps out of the shadows: How neo nationalist and alt right groups in the province
benefit from a global momentum
Populist movements are on the rise across the Western world. Donald Trump s victory in the U.S., the
Brexit vote in the U.K. and the surge of far right parties in many European countries all stand
testimony to this. Emboldened by this momentum, Québec s far right groups are growing their ranks.
And while they may be less established, they, too, want to make themselves heard. (1,760 words)

The common theme among them is a firm rejection of established conservative parties as well as the
skepticism of globalization and its corollary immigration, which they believe threatens to erode the
Québécois way of life.
Right now, in places like Montreal, Quebecois culture is being drowned, says Remi Tremblay, the
media liaison for the Federation des Québécois de souche, whose anti immigration tirades are loud
and proud. The group was founded as a protest movement in the aftermath of Quebec s reasonable
accommodation crisis. Its concern is more with the very concept of immigration than with specific
groups. Peoples that are strangers to each other, and who have different values and traditions can t live
side by side indefinitely without there being frictions and problems, he says.
Many of these groups single out radical Islam as being the most vivid threat, one which they consider
to be closer at hand than mainstream society realizes.
We believe radical Islam has no place here. We can see what damage it does in Europe and we don t
want the same to happen here, says Daniel Boucher, president of the Alliance nationale réformiste du
Québec. Boucher thinks it s dangerous for Québécois society to dismiss this threat as marginal. Of
course it s not the majority, but still, it doesn t always take a majority. It s usually a minority that
causes the damage. You still have to be cautious, he adds.

Analysis Of Equality By Default
Equality by default is an idea that has been ever present throughout philosophy. Though its name may
not be the same from philosopher to philosopher, its philosophical ideals are relatively similar.
Equality by default is the idea that no single act or choice is more right or wrong than another. All men
are equal by nature and oneself cannot be considered better than another. Equality by default teaches
that all acts, all thoughts, and all opinions are equal because it is impossible to be unequal. Ancient
philosopher Plato and modern author Phillippe Beneton share a very similar opinions when it comes to
equality by default.
It is important to understand that both Philippe Beneton and Plato are against the equality by default
mindset and find it to be unproductive and self inflicting. Beneton s book Equality by Default shows
how equality by default results in the deterioration of the good. This occurs because the good is
separate from the way that you should live. This separation occurs because the good is arbitrary and
all actions are considered equal. The good and the not good are different and must be considered so.
Equality by default eliminates the need to even acknowledge differences because we are alike because
we are different, and no difference is worth more than another. (Beneton, 15) These differences are
what make us human and are necessary to live humanly. If no human activity is better than another,
then the good is eliminated and living humanly no

The Knowledge Of The Natural Sciences And History Based On...
When the quote states, attempt to know the world , it is regarding the gain of knowledge. This is
because knowledge is the understanding of the physical world surrounding us and beyond. Plato
defined knowledge as justified, true belief, meaning that for knowledge to be legitimate, it must be
justified by sources such as reason, empirical evidence or memory. Secondly, the term assumptions in
the quote should also be explored. According to the oxford dictionary, assumptions can be defined as
something that is accepted as true without proof . Therefore the quote is stating that our knowledge of
the world is based on a set of assumptions. The second part of the assertion produces the knowledge
issues of the inability of testing the knowledge. The oxford dictionary defines tested as taking
measurements to check the reliability of the something. Therefore, a key question that comes from this
quote is: To what extent are all knowledge in the natural sciences and history based on assumptions
and is it possible to test it s reliability?
The first knowledge issue from this quote is that the knowledge gained from the physical world is
based on things that without proof. This knowledge issue can be interlinked with the area of
knowledge of natural sciences. The natural sciences study the rules that govern the natural world by
applying an empirical and scientific method to study of the universe. It is considered on of the more

Causes Of The Glorious Revolution
The Glorious Revolution of 1688 was a time of enlightened thinking and establishing a new principle
of dividing power within the monarchy. With the emergence of philosophical thinkers, such as John
Locke, the idea of separation of powers and rationalism formed the foundation for our modern use of a
constitutional democracy. During this time period, James II was just expelled from the throne, with
William III and Mary taking over the throne. James II was a Catholic absolute monarch who was
religiously intolerant. James II violated the Test Act, which were a series of English penal laws that
served as a religious test for public office and imposed various civil disabilities on Roman Catholics.
He did this by giving government and university jobs to Catholics. Fear of the Catholic monarchy led
to the expulsion of James II, which then led to the beginning of the Glorious Revolution. The Glorious
Revolution was a time of unity within the English Parliament. This Revolution established the
principle that power should be divided between the King and the Parliament, similar to a checks and
balances system. This was established to ensure that one individual could no longer oppressively rule
over the monarchy. During 1688, James II was just expelled from the position of ruler of England.

Pros And Cons Of Nuclear Power Plant
It is no doubt that Nuclear is very powerful and that it can cause some good things to happen but we
can not ignore the horrible things that it has done to our planet and ecosystem. There are two sides to
this argument if we should close nuclear power plants or we shouldn t in my personal opinion I think
that we should close these plants. But before I had to make my decision I had to do some research on
both sides so here is what I found.
One of the pros of Nuclear power is that, if we use Nuclear Power then we will use Fossil Fuels a lot
less than we normally use them, and this would help stop the greenhouse gases from going into the air.
(CO2 and others.) Also, another good thing about Nuclear power is that it is low operation costs,
nuclear power produces very inexpensive electricity. Also, even though the expense of setting up
nuclear power plants is moderately high, the expense of running them is quite low. These Nuclear
plants can be shut down if other resources are to be very high and when they are not in high demand
then the Nuclear plant can be up and running again. But then again, Nuclear power gives us new ways
to defend ourselves for wars for the future since we have used it in the past. However, the normal life
of nuclear reactor is anywhere from 40 60 years, depending on how often it is used and how it is being
used. Even if we run out of Nuclear power then we might be able to still use the fission reaction to
make more reliable resources in the future

The s Mini Research Paper Essay
Santa Iglesia Advanced English 1, Per. 7 14 November 2016 OMS Mini Research Paper The word
man has a very simple definition: an adult male ( The Definition ). However, there are many symbols
and meanings being it. A Native American picture known as Man in a Maze, originally called I itoi,
depicts a man standing at the entrance of a maze. At the center is the man s dreams where God greets
him and passes him into the next world. The center is not easy to reach, for there are many twists and
turns in the maze itself. The maze symbolizes life and the difficulties man has to go through to reach
the end and move on. In this instance man is naive, but represents strength, and must go through the
challenges faced through existence in order to find the way to the finish ( The Symbol ). Another
simple, yet very complex word beyond its basic definition, is old . The book definition of old is to
have existed for a long time ( I Found ). The word old is associated with wisdom because a lot of
experience is thought to be gained during long periods of time. When combining the two words, old
and man, a new and very intricate symbol is made. Old man symbolizes wisdom of humanity and the
power of great knowledge. The phrase old man is also associated with high status and special powers
because with great wisdom comes significant respect from less experienced individuals (Cirlot). Joe
DiMaggio was a famous baseball player for the Yankees and was nicknamed Yankee Clipper who

Wastewater Treatment
Introduction
The increase in the number of individuals in the planet has established a boom in technology, and
industry, which advances the problems in the economy, and contributes to the degradation of the
environment. Evidently, the treatment and collection of the wastewater in urban areas poses a critical
problem especially in developing countries. Wastewater is a practice that has been taken on especially
in urban areas where the domestic effluent pollutes surface water bodies creating health problems for
the public. In another word, any water that has been affected by anthropogenic influence. And
Wastewater can produce a group of activity that consists of domestic activity, industrial activity,
commercial activity, surface runoff or storm water, and from sewer inflow or infiltration. Wastewater
is the most important thing that can help people moving comfortably for example when it is raining.
Especially, when vehicles move around the city this Wastewater can reduce the hazards of sliding
vehicles at road. Also, wastewater can avoid wastefulness of water and can help the agriculture
environment by irrigation. On the top of that, the wastewater will help grow the lands when planet

Caffeine Effects On Reaction Time
Reaction time. Caffeine not only improves physical performances, but also enhances cognitive
performances, such as promoting a faster reaction time, helping people memorize more effectively and
improve mood. Souissi, Chtourou, Abedelmalek, Ghozlane, Sahnoun (2014) have done an experiment
to analyze how caffeine could influence people s reaction times after they have a regular night versus
a sleep deprived night.
Figure 4: Performances (mean ± SD) during the simple [A] and the choice [B] reaction time recorded

Participants either receive a placebo or a 200 miligram caffeine table five minutes after studying a
series of images, and by giving caffeine after the experiment, researchers eliminate caffeine s effects
on attention, vigilance, focus, or other factors. After 24 hours, researchers test participants ability to
recognize images and some of the images are new; some are the same as they studied yesterday; some
are ones that look similar but are different. The results show that the caffeine group has more people
that can differentiate similar images from the original images instead of recognizing them as the same.
This conclusion is really significant to show that caffeine could enhance memory because the brain s
ability to recognize the difference between two similar but not identical items, called pattern
separation, reflects a deeper level of memory retention. (Michael Yassa, 2014). Therefore, we can
conclude that caffeine itself, despite of its other effects on human, could really help people improve
their memory. Moreover, since caffeine can also increase attention, focus and vigilance, it could also
help people memorize more effectively. Overall, caffeine could both directly and indirectly help the
memory become more

The Other Wes Wolff Analysis
Although the narrators in This Boy s Life: A Memoir by Tobias Wolff and The Other Wes Moore: One
Name, Two Fates by Wes Moore both have especially strong female role models, their experiences
detailed ,the time period that they grew up in, and their father figures differ dramatically.
In This Boy s Life: A Memoir, we read that Tobias and his mother begin traveling across the United
States in 1955 to get away from a man that she was afraid of. (Wolff, 1989) Similarly, in The Other
Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates we read how the effects of a mother that was in an abusive

Upon reading further into Tobias Wolff s life, his father and brother lived on the east coast while he
and his mother traveled through the Midwest with hopes of settling in Utah. The father figure in the
excerpt for The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates was portrayed as a compassionate, gentle
man. We read about this in his reaction to Wes mother, Joy, after she yells at her young son; He s only
three. He doesn t understand what he did wrong. Do you really think he knows what a woman beater
is? (Moore, 2010) Although Wes dad was a tall man, who could appear menacing to a three year old
boy, he felt secure and calm when he comes to his room to discuss what he did wrong. Wes recalls that
the only memory of his father was this particular incident and when his father passed away. Upon
reading further into Wes Moore s life, he witnessed his father s death at the same age that we read
about this particular memory in the excerpt. As I am pondering about the influences that Tobias and
Wes fathers may or may not have had on their lives, I wonder if Wes experience was a better one that

Pros And Cons Of American Psycho
Just in the U.S. there are thousands of books that are banned or censored and every year there are
hundreds more that get banned or censored. American Psycho is a book published in 1991 by Bret
Easton Ellis which is heavily censored. This book cannot even be sold to anyone under 18 and must be
wrapped in plastic. This fictional book was written for adults that like black comedy and the thrill of a
gruesome and violent book. American Psycho is a book about a murderous rich man that is censored
for a few very good reasons but still should be able to be bought and sold by the public.
American Psycho all starts in New York City where the main character, Patrick Bateman lives. Patrick
is a rich man that focuses on money, how he dresses, and drugs. One day as he was walking down the
street he saw his first victim. Bateman spots him sitting on the sidewalk and stops to taunt him, calling
him worthless and disgusting and asking why he doesn t simply get a job. Al begins to cry, and then
Bateman suddenly stabs him in the eye (Mauriello, American Psycho Summary). After his first victim
was finally dead he just got worse. Soon after he murders his ex girlfriend Bethany after getting her
drunk at lunch and even stabs a young child to death in a public park (Mauriello, American Psycho
Summary). Bateman s killings just keep getting and as it does his drug addiction also gets worse. After
kidnapping, raping and torturing his victims he ends up hiding in his office from the police. He

To succeed at becoming a great business, a formula for success must be developed and tested until it is

As the future district manager, I understand that I have a role in this formula design; this can t be done

The Dunkin Donuts brand has grown from a small restaurant in 1948, called Open Kettle. Our name
that most consumers recognize is Dunkin Donuts, which we adopted in 1950. Our shift from just
doughnuts to coffee came in 2003, where we introduced our coffee line and began competition with
Starbucks. The organization will maintain its departmentalization by geographic region, we have 20
locations here in the Midwest and have plans to add 5 more. I have been given complete autonomy,
authority, and responsibility to structure, staff, and operate these five new locations. Through
standardization, we have been able to structure a set number of expectations and detailed job

Digital Music Piracy
Digital Music Piracy
Can t Stop, Won t Stop
Digital music piracy, or the unlawful downloading of copyrighted music, has been a controversial
topic for more than a decade now. The issue was first brought to attention in 1998 when Shawn
Fanning created Napster. Though the MP3 file was originally developed in 1987, Napster represented
the first mainstream and user friendly program to transfer and download these files. Napster, a peer to
peer (P2P) program, allowed online users to connect with one another and swap copyrighted music,
videos, and other files contained on their computers, thus providing a way to get free music online.

(19) There is no doubt that downloading and CD R burning are cutting into sales, and that it is the
major means by which the majority of artists make a living from. Although touring is another source
of income it is impossible for it to fund an entire career. There are of course, some artists that are
reaching stardom and able to make a very substantial living, but as the CRIA said, for the industry that
has invested in them, those profits are turned right back into funding new artists. So if consumers want
a wide variety of music and their favorite artists to succeed, than they must support them by buying
their music, plain and simple. So what can be done to decrease music piracy? Besides creating new
laws, and suing P2P websites for copyright infringement there are other fronts being explored. On the
technological front labels are working with several companies in creating a more secure music format.
One example is DRM wrapped digital files and streams. A process used to limit the usage of digital
content. Other options include copy protected CD s, and products like Data Play, DVD Audio and
SACD, which basically only allow access of information to one specific user. On the commercial side
of the fight, record companies are beginning to offer much lower prices, new legitimate digital
services, as well as many special features like

Research Paper On Charles Bukowski
Charles Bukowski grew up in the era of the Great Depression where money was scarce for many
average American families. His father did not have a stable job, and was thus deprived of his
masculinity. To revive this lost virility, Bukowski was physically and mentally abused by his father for
much of his childhood, and when he started to face normal teenage struggles, such as acne, he began
to question whether he was worthy of being loved, or worthy of anything at all. These emotions led
him to scribe passionate novels detailing his experiences while growing up. Because of his difficult
childhood, the tone in his novels is typically cynical and pessimistic. This is common of Postmodern
Cynicism books in which Bukowski s novels play a role. The ... Show more content on

Ham on Rye is interesting because it also portrays various aspects of Charles Bukowski s adolescent
life. Bukowski, as well as Chinaski, had to endure an excessive amount of misfortune in his
childhood. They both faced terrible bouts of physical abuse and acne that provoked a realistic message
about life and society. That is: though society may shape one a certain way, it is necessary to know
when to veer off that path to avoid becoming one of those who simply conform. When Chinaski first
started getting abused, his father punished Henry by forcing him to mow the lawn with complete and
utter precision. As Henry played street football with boys at his school, Henry s father looked angry
[so that Henry] could almost feel his anger. He was six feet two and [...] he looked to be all ears,
mouth and nose angry. I couldn t look in his eyes, (Ham on Rye 66). One can readily see the
confidence that Henry lost, especially because he was unable to look in his [father s] eyes, (Ham on
Rye 66). At a young age, Henry experienced hardships that not even adults should have to live
through, such as being whipped with a razor strop for the most petty offenses. Henry was forced to
grow up faster than those around him and learn that, the only time most people think about injustice is
when it happens to them, (Ham on Rye 89). It is important that Henry realized that injustice was in
fact being done, because this is how his moral code developed. When he realized he was suffering, he
learned that society is not

Why Do Pharmaceutical Companies Use Direct To Consumer...
In 1983, the first television drug advertisement was aired. The drug was Rufen, a pain reliever similar
to ibuprofen. Not even 48 hours later, the government had requested the commercial be taken off the
air on counts of misinformation. In 2007, congress ruled that these advertisements encouraged
unnecessary usage of these drugs (Scott). The government, alongside the American Medical
Association, wanted to ban these advertisements permanently, but they could not because the
pharmaceutical companies would plead free speech under the first amendment (Scott). Pharmaceutical
companies have always managed to find loopholes in the system so they can continue to feed their
toxic commercials to consumers. Although some may disagree that prescription ... Show more content

If it were illegal to air these advertisements, the numbers of certain medications prescribed would
decrease significantly. As shown by the law, direct to consumer advertisements (DTC ads) are illegal
in the United Kingdom. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) medication gets prescribed
25 times more frequently in the United States than in the United Kingdom. This shows a correlation
between the ads and the prescriptions being written (Stange). Drug companies advertise on television
so they can successfully pitch directly to their patients. The reason they do this is because these
medications are not nearly as good for a patient as they sound, therefore doctors do not prescribe them
often. Without DTC advertising, people would not be able to self diagnose and convince themselves
that they need a medication for a condition that they do not clinically have. A primitive example for
this is adderall, the drug prescribed for patients with ADHD. Other places, such as the United
Kingdom, allow doctors to make the calls and diagnoses, so only the patients with the disorder receive
the medication. A common argument against this is that 64% of physicians surveyed concluded that
these drug advertisements encourage potential

Asian Gold Miners And Its Effects On The Chinese People...
The Chinese began to immigrate overseas after many years of harsh living conditions in China. Some
of these contributions were; the Opium wars (1839 42, 1856 60), the Taiping rebellion (1856 64),
famine, and a sinking economy. These grave circumstances led to them flocking to faraway lands to
seek work. One of the main draws of California for the Chinese was the opportunity for a better life
through gold digging and fertile soil. The struggles for these travelers began early with the voyage,
journeying on coolie ships in inhumane conditions caused the loss of many lives. Passengers were
packed into steerage at the bottom of the boat, with poor ventilation and over crowding sickness ran
ramped. When these celestials as Americans called them, arrived in San Francisco or Dabu the first
city many found work as miners, farmhands, railroad builders, fishermen, or laundrymen. Asian gold
miners had many obstacles to contend with, for one the new foreign miners tax was extremely difficult
for the Chinese to supply. Also the attacks of racist fellow miners had no penalty. Due to the case of
People v. hall (1854) the Chinese were not allowed to witness in legal proceedings against whites.
While most miners had more rights as citizens, this was impossible for the Chinese because the
California constitution allowed only whites to become be state citizens. Some Asians tried to
naturalize, such as Sang Yuen who changed his name to Norman Asing and converted to Christianity

The Issue Of Colonization On The United Nations
In the words spoken by Albert Einstein, Given the millions of billions of Earth like planets, life
elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist. In the vastness of the Universe we are not
alone. , he states, that without a doubt, life does exist somewhere other than Earth, and as expected, he
was correct. Recently, a new planet has been found, and it has been discovered that this planet in
particular is capable of sustaining life. Furthermore, the United Nations are in the act of passing a
legislation that allows them to annex and colonize this newly found planet. However, this planet
already contains living life forms of its own. The fact that this new planet has its own living life forms
is astonishing, but because it contains living life forms I am against the U.N on their plans of
colonization on this new planet. When incorporating our past mistakes in history and comparing them
to our future actions, the process and outcome of colonization on both cases are particularly negative.
Moreover, if we were to imperialize this planet the chances of: cultural loss, death, and racism are
high. Given the occasion that the U.N does indeed decide to colonize this new planet, we would
definitely not respect the new life form s culture, and will most likely change their civilization to be
more like us. British rule in India is a great example as to why we should not colonize this new planet.
For instance, because of British rule in India, new machines replaced Indian

While concepts are often portrayed through dialogue and language, the author s beliefs are shown

  • 2. Federalism Essay Federalism The Constitution of the United States was drafted at a time when our country was in dire need of many answers to political and social questions. In addition to many other things, the drafters of the Constitution were concerned with solidifying our central government and the Constitution was intended to provide a solid structure from which our burgeoning nation could grow. The Constitution gave explicit powers to the federal government and provided the states with the Tenth Amendment which states , Powers not delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the states, are reserved to the states respectively #8230; Of the enumerated powers given to the federal government by the Constitution, the interpretation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dual Federalism also relies on the notion that in a court of law, the Tenth Amendment gives the states enough support to declare unconstitutional any act of the national government that infringes on the reserved powers given to the states. Cooperative Federalism provides an entirely different view of the relationship between the federal and state governments. Federal supremacy is the hallmark of this ideology. Supporters of the cooperative federalist view prefer to employ a broad interpretation of the Constitution. The legal basis on which cooperative federalism has been argued is threefold: (1) Enumerated powers (e.g. Commerce Clause) should be interpreted in light of an expansive Necessary and Proper Clause (2) The Supremacy Clause, as prescribed in Article 6, paragraph 2, gives federal actions supremacy over state laws when made in pursuance of the Constitution and when they are made using implied and enumerated powers (3) The Tenth Amendment does not give states the power to contest federal laws. To suggest that that these two ideologies are contradictory is an understatement. To understand which theory best identifies with the correct interpretation of the Constitution, it is necessary to understand the circumstances that created the necessity for a Constitution and the political circumstances that motivated decisions contrary to the correct interpretation of the Constitution. Challenge DeVito, O Rourke and O Neill s (2000) definition of culture using Richards (1999) or Anae (1997). How do DeVito et al look at membership within a culture and how does Richards see it differently? DeVito, O Rourke and O Neill s (2000, p.99) definition of culture is very limited when describing modern cultures of globalised human society. Perhaps where people are isolated to villages, towns or countries with little communication with the outside world, the definition would be completely workable. We are taught that laying down your life for another is the fruit of real love. Essay Social amp; Cultural reality theory in action Melissa Peters Bachelor of Arts Student, Open Polytechnic Introduction How is it we know when to laugh, cry or shout? Or when it would be rude or inappropriate to do so? Why is it we value integrity, honesty, respect...or not? And where do our religious or spiritual beliefs and practices come from? This essay looks at theories of social construction and their part in the development of cultural and societal realities. We look at constructivism as a means of learning social norms, values, beliefs etc using examples from the production Tapu (Smith and Haami, 2000). In particular we ll address the theories of emotional construction and rule governing. So what is social construction? Social construction is the idea that our understanding of reality derives from interaction with others. It refers to the way we create meaning and understanding to build collectively held beliefs. • 5. Essay On Elbow Dislocation After the diagnosis from the orthopedic doctor of a posterior elbow dislocation, the athlete was instructed to wear a mobilization brace locked out at thirty degrees until his next follow up appointment. During this time, gentle range of motion activities began involving the wrist and the elbow in both flexion and extension. The athlete also worked on grip strength with putty, increasing the time and intensity as needed. In addition to these activities, isometric elbow contractions added to the intensity of the rehabilitation. After the rehabilitation sessions finished, the athlete iced the injured area. The athlete began to heat the injured area before beginning his exercise to help promote increasing range of motion. Both active and passive stretching of the elbow and wrist assists the athlete in increasing range of motion as well. The athletic trainers added hammer pronation/supination exercises to ... The use of the upper body ergometer was added to help increase range of motion and strength of the arm. The team physician cleared the athlete to begin closed chain activities. Wall pushups were then added to the athlete s rehabilitation program. Next, the athletic training staff added elbow curls and extension to the athlete s rehabilitation program. Also, the athlete began upper body proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation exercises in both the D1 and D2 patterns to work on entire arm strength in flexion and extension. • 6. Difference Between Corporate Governance And The Uk Public... Critically analysis the key differences and similarities between corporate governance in the uk public and private sectors. Corporate Governance and laws or regulations related to it affect both the private and the public sector in the UK. There are key differences and similarities in their corporate governance practice and can affect how businesses run under governance codes which they must follow. The UK corporate governance code affects the private sector and focuses on Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability, Remuneration, Relations with shareholders. The public sector has Accounts and Audit Regulations among others to follow which has its own rules and regulations which are legally required. Corporate governance in itself has no single definition but common principles which it should follow. For example in 1994 the most agreed term for corporate governance was the process of supervision and control intended to ensure that the company s management acts in accordance with the interest of shareholders (Parkinson, 1994)1. Corporate governance code is not a direct set of rules but a self regulated framework which businesses choose to follow. This code has continued to change in the past 20 years in accordance with what is happening in the business world. For example the Enron scandal caused reform in corporate governance with the Higgs Report which corrected the issues which were necessary. Although it does not quickly fix problems, it gives a better framework to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Decline Of Californian Giant Kelp Forests The Decline of Californian Giant Kelp Forests Kelp forests are seen as the ultimate ecological engineer in coastal areas. They exist in marine environments spanning in southern California, Aleutian Islands, and the western north Atlantic. Light, latitude, and water temperature and nutrients all play a role in facilitating the growth of kelp forests all around the world, (Bolton). Kelp specifically dominates the shallow rocky coasts of the world s cold water marine habitats. Although they look as a free growing plant, they are in fact primarily of brown algae. These structures provide food and shelter to a huge mix of biota, including crabs, sea urchins, mollusks, and other marine organisms (Steneck). The fronds, or large leaves of the kelp are the distinctive feature that can represent where a specific kelp may be found. The sizes of these organisms can range from the smallest found near California and Alaska at 5m to giant kelp up to 45m in length found on the west coasts of North and South America (Hamilton). One specific species found most commonly is the Laminaria prominently found in the northern hemisphere except for the eastern pacific. Kelp themselves are not very diverse at the taxonomical level. However, the coast of California contains the most diverse flora, 20 species across 16 genera to be exact. Although their taxonomic diversity may be low, their diversity exists at the structural and functional levels. Kelp have specific characteristics such as their trumpet ... • 8. Authority In The Muslim World The topic of religious authority in the Muslim world has been a debate since the beginning of early Islam. The debate of authority was centralized over who was able to elucidate the meaning of the texts of revelation. Over time, the superiority of who had the right to interpret the religious texts and guide the community changed from the pre modern to the modern period. The fuqaha were elite religious scholars, or members of a wealthy family, that rose to power in 700 (Lecture, October 19). The fuqaha understood collective responsibility by the use of Fard al kifayah, which represents a ritual obligation a Muslim community can fulfill for the whole (Lecture, October 24). • 10. Post Traumatic Brain Injury Essay Traumatic brain injury can result in longterm or lifelong physical, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional consequences (US Dept. of Health and Human Services, 1998). I believe that traumatic brain injuries and post concussion syndrome, along with the lingering to lasting effects they can have, should have more long term studies done. There are high percentages of military, as well as athletes, which are diagnosed with both. My thought is that more knowledge and literature should be required to be in place for the general public because of the fact that they can happen to anyone, even after something as simple as a fall. My proposal is that easier access to statistics and data, in the form of small journals or leaflets, should be made more readily available in doctors offices, clinics, locker rooms, recruitment centers and the like, so that people can be better informed about the risks and endangerment that can come from certain activities and combat situations. • 12. Components Of The Clutch Pack There are three components that forms the clutch assembly. They are the clutch pack, one way clutch and the band. These components help in the gear shifting and to have a smooth driving. CLUTCH PACK The clutch pack contains alternating disks that fit inside a clutch drum in which half of the discs are made up of steel. These disks have splines which fit inside the clutch drum on the respective groves. The other half consists of a friction material bonded to their surface. These disks also have splines but on the inner side which fit into the groves on the outer surface of the adjoining hub. At appropriate times, the clutch pack is squeezed together by a piston which is present inside the clutch drum that is activated by oil pressure so that the two components become locked and turn as one. ONE WAY CLUTCH One way clutch is a device which have the effect just like that of a bicycle, where it allows a component to turn freely in one direction but not in the other. One way clutch is also called as sprang clutch. This is mainly used in ring gear so that it will not turn in opposite direction. One way clutch is commonly used in the first gear. For example, place the gear shifter in drive position and give acceleration. The vehicle begins to move normally and when the acceleration is released the vehicle continues to move freely as if the vehicle is in neutral. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I want to expand my academic knowledge and obtain excellent education opportunities. Another reason of mine is that there is school spirit and a sense of tradition among the students. I grew up in a small town where our school culture and spirit is incredibly popular. When I go off to college, I want to have the same experience again. My third and the final reason is that I want to be part of a university that is rapidly growing and expanding. Baylor University is slowly gaining national recognition. The University is also undergoing a more selective acceptance rate which shows that the University is determined to accept students who are hard workers and committed to Baylor. Hodgkin s lymphoma can affect anyone, all the way from a baby to a 114 year old lady. But NLPHL usually affects 30 40 year old men, which I am neither. • 15. Limitations Of Public Education Empowered or Limited When it comes to the topic of education, most of us will readily agree that receiving an education is necessary and important to daily life. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of limitations. Whereas some are convinced that public education limits it students, others maintain that it empowers them. My own view is that public education limits students because there is a lack of autonomy, a focus on segregation, and a very real pressure to succeed. The standard way of thinking about education is to believe that it empowers students, however some argue that it actually limits a student s individuality. In his essay Against School , John Gatto demonstrates how the public educational system places limitations on its students. Gatto is an award winning educator and has taught in public schools for almost twenty years. According to Gatto, We could encourage the best qualities of youthfulness.... simply by being more flexible about time, text, and tests....and by giving each student what autonomy he or she needs in order to take a risk every now and then. But we don t do that. (Gatto p. 115). In other words, public education has the ability to empower students, but because of the strict structure, focus on testing, and lack of autonomy, it is more restricting than empowering. Many people assume that students going to an IVY league school are the brightest of their peers when it comes to academics. When given an inside look at these prestigious, best of the best institutions, we encounter something different than what we expect. William Deresiewicz attended Columbia University and was a professor at Yale, and he sates, most of them seemed content to color within the lines that their education has marked out for them. Very few were passionate about ideas. (Deresiewicz p. 203). Deresiewicz s point is that IVY League students aren t very willing to go beyond that which they have been taught in the classroom. What s the purpose of separating these students from their peers, who may not be as gifted academically, if they do not take their education beyond what they are formally taught. Segregation does not happen just at the college level, but also at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Quebec s Far Right Steps Out Of The Shadows Québec s far right steps out of the shadows: How neo nationalist and alt right groups in the province benefit from a global momentum Populist movements are on the rise across the Western world. The common theme among them is a firm rejection of established conservative parties as well as the skepticism of globalization and its corollary immigration, which they believe threatens to erode the Québécois way of life. Right now, in places like Montreal, Quebecois culture is being drowned, says Remi Tremblay, the media liaison for the Federation des Québécois de souche, whose anti immigration tirades are loud and proud. The group was founded as a protest movement in the aftermath of Quebec s reasonable accommodation crisis. Its concern is more with the very concept of immigration than with specific groups. Peoples that are strangers to each other, and who have different values and traditions can t live side by side indefinitely without there being frictions and problems, he says. Many of these groups single out radical Islam as being the most vivid threat, one which they consider to be closer at hand than mainstream society realizes. We believe radical Islam has no place here. • 17. Analysis Of Equality By Default Equality by default is an idea that has been ever present throughout philosophy. Though its name may not be the same from philosopher to philosopher, its philosophical ideals are relatively similar. Equality by default is the idea that no single act or choice is more right or wrong than another. All men are equal by nature and oneself cannot be considered better than another. Equality by default teaches that all acts, all thoughts, and all opinions are equal because it is impossible to be unequal. Ancient philosopher Plato and modern author Phillippe Beneton share a very similar opinions when it comes to equality by default. It is important to understand that both Philippe Beneton and Plato are against the equality by default mindset and find it to be unproductive and self inflicting. Beneton s book Equality by Default shows how equality by default results in the deterioration of the good. This occurs because the good is separate from the way that you should live. This separation occurs because the good is arbitrary and all actions are considered equal. The good and the not good are different and must be considered so. Equality by default eliminates the need to even acknowledge differences because we are alike because we are different, and no difference is worth more than another. (Beneton, 15) These differences are what make us human and are necessary to live humanly. If no human activity is better than another, then the good is eliminated and living humanly no ... Secondly, the term assumptions in the quote should also be explored. According to the oxford dictionary, assumptions can be defined as something that is accepted as true without proof . Therefore the quote is stating that our knowledge of the world is based on a set of assumptions. The second part of the assertion produces the knowledge issues of the inability of testing the knowledge. The oxford dictionary defines tested as taking measurements to check the reliability of the something. Therefore, a key question that comes from this quote is: To what extent are all knowledge in the natural sciences and history based on assumptions and is it possible to test it s reliability? The first knowledge issue from this quote is that the knowledge gained from the physical world is based on things that without proof. This knowledge issue can be interlinked with the area of knowledge of natural sciences. • 19. Causes Of The Glorious Revolution The Glorious Revolution of 1688 was a time of enlightened thinking and establishing a new principle of dividing power within the monarchy. With the emergence of philosophical thinkers, such as John Locke, the idea of separation of powers and rationalism formed the foundation for our modern use of a constitutional democracy. During this time period, James II was just expelled from the throne, with William III and Mary taking over the throne. James II was a Catholic absolute monarch who was religiously intolerant. James II violated the Test Act, which were a series of English penal laws that served as a religious test for public office and imposed various civil disabilities on Roman Catholics. He did this by giving government and university jobs to Catholics. Fear of the Catholic monarchy led to the expulsion of James II, which then led to the beginning of the Glorious Revolution. The Glorious Revolution was a time of unity within the English Parliament. This Revolution established the principle that power should be divided between the King and the Parliament, similar to a checks and balances system. This was established to ensure that one individual could no longer oppressively rule over the monarchy. During 1688, James II was just expelled from the position of ruler of England. • 21. Pros And Cons Of Nuclear Power Plant It is no doubt that Nuclear is very powerful and that it can cause some good things to happen but we can not ignore the horrible things that it has done to our planet and ecosystem. There are two sides to this argument if we should close nuclear power plants or we shouldn t in my personal opinion I think that we should close these plants. But before I had to make my decision I had to do some research on both sides so here is what I found. One of the pros of Nuclear power is that, if we use Nuclear Power then we will use Fossil Fuels a lot less than we normally use them, and this would help stop the greenhouse gases from going into the air. (CO2 and others.) Also, another good thing about Nuclear power is that it is low operation costs, nuclear power produces very inexpensive electricity. Also, even though the expense of setting up nuclear power plants is moderately high, the expense of running them is quite low. These Nuclear plants can be shut down if other resources are to be very high and when they are not in high demand then the Nuclear plant can be up and running again. But then again, Nuclear power gives us new ways to defend ourselves for wars for the future since we have used it in the past. However, the normal life of nuclear reactor is anywhere from 40 60 years, depending on how often it is used and how it is being used. Even if we run out of Nuclear power then we might be able to still use the fission reaction to make more reliable resources in the future ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, there are many symbols and meanings being it. A Native American picture known as Man in a Maze, originally called I itoi, depicts a man standing at the entrance of a maze. At the center is the man s dreams where God greets him and passes him into the next world. The center is not easy to reach, for there are many twists and turns in the maze itself. The maze symbolizes life and the difficulties man has to go through to reach the end and move on. In this instance man is naive, but represents strength, and must go through the challenges faced through existence in order to find the way to the finish ( The Symbol ). Another simple, yet very complex word beyond its basic definition, is old . The book definition of old is to have existed for a long time ( I Found ). The word old is associated with wisdom because a lot of experience is thought to be gained during long periods of time. When combining the two words, old and man, a new and very intricate symbol is made. Old man symbolizes wisdom of humanity and the power of great knowledge. The phrase old man is also associated with high status and special powers because with great wisdom comes significant respect from less experienced individuals (Cirlot).
