Function Of A Reflection On Social Media
In this reflection I will be talking about social media and the ways that I personally use social media in
order to analyze and have an understanding so that I can hopefully improve my social media
competence. The types of social media outlets I have are: Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and
Snapchat. I don t really post anything on Reddit, Facebook, and Snapchat but on Instagram I try to not
post photos with myself in it because I want my followers to see the world I see but the captions I put
are usually not really relative to the photo and usually meme sounding. On Twitter I mostly retweet
stuff that I think my friends would enjoy like articles or cool announcements and I make polls letting
them decided what I should do or where to travel next. Not much thought goes into deciding what I
post, I usually decide on the quality of the photo. If the quality of the photo is nice then usually the
picture is just as nice. What I try to show my followers is the cool places that I go to or all the neat
stuff that I do rather than everyday life like what I eat or how I look. I want to be seen the same way
people see me in real life so that they re not taken back at the fact that I may be different to have they
see me online. What my posts say about me is that I have different interests whether it s pictures from
art museums or of my gundam models. I also have photos from my recent trip to Japan so my posts
say that I like to travel. After taking the Narcissistic

Cognitive Development And Piaget s Theory Of Cognitive...
The third operation within the Pre operational stage is Class Inclusion . This is when children begin to
understand classification, for example, Dalmatians, Greyhounds and Spaniels would be ably classed as
dogs. Children who had not reached this stage would struggle with the concept that categories may be
divided into subsets, for example, a dog is also an Animal. However, a study by Sugier and Svetner
(2006) found children as young as 5 to have an understanding of class inclusion, when presented with
a class inclusion test, whereas Piaget believed this wouldn t happen until the child is 7 years old.
(younger children, within this stage or before? Or that they still do struggle within this stage?)
The third stage of Piaget s theory of cognitive development is the Stage of concrete operations. Within
this stage, children still struggle with abstract ideas and concepts, as well as imagining objects or
situations they cannot see. In addition, Piaget claimed for his theory to be universal, however research
suggests that not everyone reaches the stage of concrete operations. Research by Maclean (2001)
found that the concrete stage has more to do with culture and school rather than brain maturation.
Therefore, if cognitive development was purely biological, theoretically, late school starters, and those
in poverty with a lack of education (which is important in rational thinking) should have the same
level of logical thinking. (?)
The final stage in Piaget s theory is the

My Hidden Quality Is That I Enjoy Taking Care Of Newborns,...
Elvira Heidinger My hidden quality is that I enjoy taking care of newborns, toddlers or elderlies.
Usually, I am a very introverted person and I need a long time to open up to people, but it is different
if I am with somebody who needs the help. I have a very good connection to them right from the
beginning. Taking care of newborns is something I really enjoy. It is my passion to prepare homemade
babyfood and to try to stimulate their senses as much as I can in that early stage of their life. However,
I also like to spend time with toddleres. I like to plan activities for them and give the opportunites to
learn in a playful way. Children learn every day and it is important to me to give them as much
possibilities to learn about the world as possible. It is very easy for me to explain things in their level
of communication, and I enjoy to see things from their perspective. I read a lot of lecture about
different children pedagogics and it is very fascinating to me how important the first years of life are.
If my friends would know about my hidden qualities it could enhance, but also damage the
relationship with them. A lot of my friends have already children, who are in a young age. It would
defentliy enhance the relationship to them, due to the fact that they would know that I am their if they
need a babysitter. I also would be able to give them many ideas about what to do with children when
they stuck at home because of bad weather or how to handly bad situations. But I

doping of semiconductor by rare earth metal nanoparticles is an effective way for increasing in
photocatalytic activity. Zinc oxide and Lanthanum doped Zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized
by modifying the gel combustion method. It was found that La can greatly enhance the cytotoxicity
and photocatalytic activity of ZnO nanoparticles towards various cell lines and paracetamol drug.
These nanoparticles were characterized by various spectroscopic and other techniques which clearly
revealed the presence of lanthanum ions. The UV vis spectroscopy displayed the absorption edge
shifts towards the visible region after doping with La which is extremely favorable for absorbing the
visible light. We compared the enhancing effect of La ions and found that La doped ZnO nanoparticles
is more effective than ZnO nanoparticles in promoting the generation of hydroxyl radicals, holes and
the photocatalytic activity of

Many of the views and actions of society and politics today are centered around the media, which
keeps the public well informed on current events so that the public can make educated decisions based
on the information they have accrued to make change in the functions of our society, whether small or
large. However, misinterpreted bias in mass media causes the creation and spread of misinformation to
the public, which causes members of society to have a skewed vision of what is fact and what isn t.
This can cause members of society to make decisions based on incorrect information, which affects

informal and sarcastic tone that is used throughout the article, as well as informs the reader that this is

Website Comparison
Introduction I have chosen two of the biggest broadband and telecommunication companies in Ireland
for this website comparison. O2 and Vodafone are both leading distributors of mobile services for
individuals and corporate clients providing them with solutions in communications. They are the two
biggest competitors in the mobile networking industry in Ireland constituting for 88% of the total
market. This market percentage is split between Vodafone and O2, 48% and 40% respectively.
I have chosen these two websites for comparison for a number of reasons. I have been a frequent user

Child Custody Rules Essay
The beginning of the fall semester can be a difficult time for co parenting families, especially with
regard to child custody. The transition from summer vacation to school can present a variety of issues,
as parents must readjust their schedules to accommodate for various obligations imposed by the new
school year. To avoid conflict and ensure a stress free segue, it is important that co parents re examine
and update their child custody arrangements. Below, the family law attorneys at Coyne, Cundiff
Hillemann, P.C. in Lake St. Louis, MO offer three back to school child custody tips to help you
through the transition.
Consistency is Key

If possible, try to avoid a schedule that changes week to week. Sit down with your co parent and
attempt to create a simple, consistent schedule to carry your family through the school year.
Be Flexible
Schedule conflicts will happen. In addition to school schedules, co parents must now accommodate
for recitals, football practice, field trips, and other school related functions. The more flexible you are
with visitation, the easier it will be on the entire family. Make a point to plan out events ahead of time,
substituting visitation times when necessary. Sitting in for your co parent on occasion can benefit you
greatly, should you run into your own schedule conflict(s) down the road.
Plan Ahead
The school year is riddled with parent teacher conferences, PTA meetings, and various holidays.
Planning ahead will help you and your co parent avoid unnecessary turmoil while ensuring that your
child s needs are met. If you want to take your child away for the holidays, be sure to discuss your
plans with your co parent far in advance. Consider maintaining a shared calendar to ensure everyone is
on the same page. Should your child be involved in an emergency situation or require assistance, each
party will know who to

Essay On The Age Of Wordsworth
The Age of Wordsworth (1798 1832) is considered to have begun with the joint publication of Lyrical
Ballads by the Lake Poets , William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. The poetry of this age
witnessed altering of the theme from public and impersonal to subjective. Common people and
common things were given the most importance. Depiction of countryside, rural life, pastoral life and
Nature was common. The subject of the poetry switched from facts, reasons to the world of
imagination, passion, and senses. Imagination is the soul of romantic poetry. Poets employed it to
experience transcendentalism and spirituality. Emotions were the bed rock of romanticism. It took
over reason and logic. Poets talked about the elementary passions of human beings, derived through
the senses eyes, nose, ears. It was marked with super naturalism and was devoid of materialism. They
had a vision of the mystic and mysterious forces whom they called the divine. To complement the
subject of poetry, the language used by the poets was simple and rustic, the one that is spoken by
common people. There was no stereotypical and conventional diction. Poets used various forms of
meter. Rhyme and rhythm wasn t their actual concern, expressing the emotions and ... Show more

Where The Girl On The Sea Are Short Story
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE
I perched myself upon a weathered rock. My footprints left tattoos in the sand. The wind was
etherized in the sky. The sun smoldered in silence. Centered in a quiet oasis, the blue beast howled. It
stretched out before me like the land was coated in oil paints: cerulean and cyan, electric and
Egyptian, teal and turquoise.
The moment that I stood before this righteous beast was captured and bottled up in my beloved father
s camera.
This flimsy piece of paper is a portal. It is a portal to a girl who left her worries at the shore, on that
smooth and cold rock. Who left the marks of her bare feet across the velvety sands. Who embraced the
ocean like it was a bed of sapphire, silk sheets. Who let the frigid ... Show more content on

Under stacks of photographs of my birth, my sister s birth, and my father s birth, an image of a little
girl, perched on a smooth and cold rock, lay. It was out of place among our birth photos and I pulled it
out to put it among the vacation pictures. A hazy smile tugged at my lips.
I remembered her. A wild girl from the sea, with stormy eyes and seaweed hair. I remembered her
untamed rage and her indestructible heart. My insides squirmed at the memory, at the girl whose
bones snapped and whose blood boiled and whose skin tore. They squirmed at the thought of who I d
become, a blue light locked under a bell jar.
My squirming turned to fidgeting and kicking and screaming and roaring and tearing and red radical
rage. I burned with my regret as fuel. I tore up the fragile skin that held me captive.
My mother and father have sat me down and told me that I was born to put on latex gloves and operate
on the sick, or stand before a judge and make defend the innocent, or swear to protect the citizens of
my city with a gold lacquered badge and gun.
As I held that photograph in my polished fingers, I realized that my fate was not where I had guessed.
That I was not to live a tranquil life among the people who raised me.
I realized that I was meant to be before beasts with bare feet and wide eyes. That my place was not in
offices and cubicles, nor was it among the stars. My fate was entwined in the vines of the jungle, in
the fur of tigers, in the claws

Cranberry Bogs
The 16S rRNA gene sequences amplified from cranberry bogs resolved into 49 bacterial phyla. The
overall bacterial composition of the different samples was similar, particularly among the six most
highly represented groups (Fig. 1). Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Verrucomicrobia
were the most dominant phyla (relative abundance 5 %) in every sample, together accounting for
about 78 % of the bacterial sequences in the soils examined. The Actinobacteria and Chloroflexi were
also major constituents of each sample site. Cyanobacteria, Armatimonadetes, Planctomycetes,

The most represented classes were Acidobacteria and Alphaproteobacteria, which together comprised
almost 30% of all bacterial amplicons, followed by the considerably lower representation of
Deltaproteobacteria, DA052, and Sphingobacteria (Table 1S). Members of the dominant classes
Actinobacteria, Alphaproteobacteria, and Sphingobacteria showed similar patterns between sample
sites. However, Deltaproteobacteria had a higher relative abundance at RP in comparison with SB or
HH1, and Elusimicrobia was in higher abundance at RP than at HH1. Levels of Nitrospirae and
Spirochaetes were the highest at RP than in all other samples. While SB samples had a greater
abundance of Acidobacteria snf DA052 compared to HH1 samples, the situation was reversed in the
case of Solibacteres, with HH1 samples showing greater relative abundance. Spartobacteria,
Armatimonadia, and Nostocophycideae were found to be represented more at HH1 than at SB or RP,
but higher numbers of Ktedonobacteria were seen at RP and SB than at HH1. The relative proportion
of Gammaproteobacteria also was higher at HH3 and SB than at HH1 (Table 1S). The ten most
abundant bacterial families detected in our study were Koribacteraceae (Acidobacteria),

Psychological Perspectives On Studying Juvenile...
This essay will compare and contrast some psychological and sociological approaches to studying
juvenile delinquency and disorder behaviour. The question is what makes people behave disorderly.
Youth disorderly behaviours are studied using different approaches including psychological and
sociological approaches. Both psychological and sociological approaches to studying juvenile
delinquency are necessary. This essay starts with outlining and defining disorderly behaviour and
juvenile delinquency. Then, it will look at the work of Eysenck, the Cambridge Study of Delinquent
Development research which was a longitude study and the Integrated Cognitive Antisocial Potential
theory by Farrington, all fit in psychological approach; studying the connection between personality
and disorder. It will then look at Sociological approach by looking at the work of Howard Becker,
Stan Cohen and Stuart Hall. This essay will be analysing and comparing their theories and separating
the differences and noting the similarities in their ideas. This essay will provide evidence for each
theory. It will then conclude by specifying significant similarities and differences in the light of the
evidence presented. Disorderly behaviour is any behaviour that does not conform to generally
accepted social or cultural norms and expectations. (Havard and Clarke, 2014, p. 249). Disorderly
behaviour in young people occurs when a youth s behaviour is in violation of criminal law, juvenile

The Cove Dolphins
Approximately 20,000 dolphins are killed legally every year and thousands more are sold inhumanely
in Taiji, Japan. The majority of these dolphins are sold to marine parks and aquariums around the
world. Louie Psihoyos and Ric O Barry s eye opening documentary The Cove raises awareness about
the gruesome killings of dolphins in Japan. Ironically Ric O Barry feels that he initiated this problem,
as he was one of the first dolphin trainers/capturers in the 1960 s for the show Flipper. After
witnessing the star, Flipper the Bottlenose Dolphin commit suicide in his arms, he became a marine
activist, which led to the production of this documentary to stop the problem he created. Louie and
Rick expose the plight of the dolphin, the potential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The universal image of the dolphin portrays the illusion that dolphins are always happy because they
consistently appear to be smiling. This, however, is nature s greatest deception as it is simply the
shape of their mouth. Throughout the film the juxtaposition of the beauty of nature is harshly
contrasted with the ugliness of the underlying secrets of the industry in Japan and around the world.
The fishing industry is largest in Japan therefore that is where this movie was filmed. The captive
industry has become a lucrative billion dollar worldwide trade, with all money made from the
exploitation, imprisonment and lifelong suffering of these living beings. A live dolphin captured for a
marine mammal park can be valued up to $200,000. The most shocking fact is that this is legal. The
International Whaling Commission outlawed commercial whaling in 1986, but dolphin hunts remain
legal. The film s impact was largely due to the emotional ties between O Barry and dolphins. Although
the filmmakers are extremely biased, his convincing pleads for our help are strategically made at the
most emotional moments. He believes that bottlenose dolphins are being hunted the most The
fishermen are searching for bottlenose dolphins like flipper . Luckily this type of dolphin is not yet

Hero Vs Hero
Pericles once said The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them,
glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding go out to meet it. More than 2000 years later, Pericles
thoughts are still those of what today s hero is. A hero today struggles, yet still manages to overcome
these complications with an act of bravery. Rather than thinking of themselves, a hero is usually
willing to put others before themselves and show audacity in the face of difficulties.
First, Heroes are not thinking of themselves, but instead are showing acts of kindness towards others.
For example, after 9/11 a large amount of sailors showed up to evacuate Manhattan, due to closed
down airplanes and subways. These sailors showed pluck because many of them believed they were a
target for another attack. Vincent Ardolino, one of the captains who responded to the call, recounts his
conversation with his wife before he leaves. After learning of his decision, Ardolino s wife asks But
what if they attack again. To this he responds Well then that s something I have to live with (Boatlift
Documentary) showing that he does not think about what may happen to him, but about what may
happen to others. Similarly to his decisions is the mole rescue workers who dug people out of their
homes after the earthquake in Mexico. Not only have these rescue workers volunteered in this recent
earthquake, but they have also taken action in earthquakes around the world and have helped look

Ethical Dilemm People Face Ethical Dilemmas
Ethical Dilemma Essay
People face ethical dilemmas every day. This brings to light what one s personal ethics are based on.
According to the lecture, In a CWV ethics are grounded in absolute and universal moral principles that
have been given by God. In modern culture, moral standards are subjective and based upon personal
preference (Lecture 16). In this essay a case study will be given and solutions to the dilemma will be
given from two different worldviews. The ethical dilemma I have chosen to write about is abortion. I
will first give the Christian worldviews opinion for this dilemma then I will give a naturalists
worldview opinion.

Richard say it is ultimately her choice but he suggests that she stops the suffering before it starts.
Core Beliefs
The core beliefs that would be relevant to this situation from a Christian worldview are you shall not
kill and God has a reason for all things. All life is precious. God created all things and He creates them
to His divine plan. God has a plan for that child even though he or she will have Down syndrome. God
says killing is wrong in the Ten Commandments and abortion is the same as killing someone.
Resolution
From a Christian worldview the solution would be to have the baby not and abortion. Abortion is
wrong in the eyes of God because it is an act of murder. All life is precious and when a women has an
abortion she is destroying God s perfect creation. That child is perfect in God s eyes even with the
Down syndrome. God has a will for that child.
Evaluation
If Susan decides to have the baby she will most probably have to quit her job and stay at home with
the child for the rest of the child s life. She will have to devote herself to the baby and always be there
for the child. According to Richard Dawkins, you would probably be condemning yourself as a mother
(or yourselves as a couple) to a lifetime of caring for an adult with the needs of a child. Your child
would probably have a short life expectancy but, if she did outlive you, you would have the worry of

The intent of the United States occupation of Japan was to neutralize the threat of another war, to

people in public life. I m going to admit right here that the United States did make a mistake in 1946.
We made a mistake because we misjudged the intention of the Soviet leaders. (Walt 168)
Although the United States did well in eliminating any future threats from Japan, it was realized later
on that Japan was left in the midst of a violent wave of communism with no means of defense but for
the United States which did not wish for a direct war on the Soviets, who backed all communist
countries.
After disarmament was complete, MacArthur s next task was to see that Japan adopted a new, and
democratic, constitution. When the Japanese government proved too confused or too reluctant to write
a constitutional reform that satisfied MacArthur, he had his own staff draft a new constitution in
February of 1946. This, with only minor changes made to please the conservative groups in Japan,
was then adopted by the Japanese government in the form of an imperial amendment to the 1889
constitution. Japan s new democracy went into effect on May 3, 1947. The new constitution was a
perfection of the British parliamentary form of government that the Japanese had been moving toward
in the 1920 s. Supreme political power was assigned to

South Park Michael A Chaney Analysis
The writer for the scholarly journal, Michael A. Chaney, is analyzing how race is shown in the TV
show, South Park. In this case, the writer have molded their writing into short, yet complex sentences
to fit with the formality of an educative journal. For instance, the writer supported their main point by
proving how Eric Cartman, the main character, is appropriating black culture through his voices and
actions. Moreover, the type of diction the writer chose were specialized words because they are trying
to appeal to an expert interests in the topic of race. As a consequences of their words, their tone of
voice is affected and therefore the writer appear to be more informative than casual. As expected of a

Lakota Sioux Book Review
A significant part of the mainstream comprehension of the Plains Indians is in view of the far reaching

Holy Sonnet 10, Macavity The Mystery Cat And The Sunshine Kid
What is poetry? According to the 47 Essential Poetry Terms, poetry is abstract language. There are
multiple ways of exploring the abstractness of poetry. One is DIDLS, touching upon the areas of
Diction, Imagery, Details, Language, and Sentence Structure. Another is TPCASTT, which touches
upon Title, Paraphrase, Connotation, Attitude, Shift In Attitude, Revisitation of the Title, and Theme.

Couplet can be defined as 2 rhyming lines. In Holy Sonnet 10, this device is utilized a total of three
times. One particular example can be found towards the beginning of the text, where Death is being
described as not mighty or dreadful, and just beyond that (Donne Lines 2 3). The 2nd line ends with
the word so, and the 3rd ends with overthrow. Seeing as these two words rhyme, and it consists of two
lines, this is indeed a Couplet. In Macavity The Mystery Cat, evidence of a Couplet is found at the
very beginning of the text. Macavity is being introduced as the hidden Paw, due to how he s the master
criminal who can defy the Law (Eliot Lines 1 2). Paw is found at the end of the first line, and Law is
found at the end of the second. Seeing as there are two lines with rhyming words found at the end of
them, this is a Couplet. In The Sunshine Kid, there is a plethora of Couplet examples. One particular
example is found more towards the end of the poem. Little Miss Sunshine has just basically said to
The Sunshine Kid that only he can choose to dim his light. It goes into saying how Whether the
weatherman said it or not, it would be fine, Cause even behind the clouds the kid could still shine

My Political Philosophy
My Political Philosophy Political Philosophy is typically a study of a wide range of topics such as,
justice, liberty, equality, rights, law, politics and the application of a codified law. Depending on what
the philosophy is, it usually tends to be a very sensitive and a personal ideology that an individual
holds within the reality of their existence. Several of the fundamental topics of political philosophy
shape up the society that we live in as these specific topics and their implementation by the state
ensures a legitimate government. In Political Philosophy, the aforesaid concepts or topics are

This is important because inequality causes unrest and brings about interminable turmoil which can
eventually lead to a collapse of a regime or a state. If every human being is given equal opportunities
then the outcome after those opportunities were presented, whether it was success of failure, fully rests
upon the individual s shoulders. In case of failure, the government or any other individual would not
be held accountable. Freedom is another core value that should be given precedence over all other
values and beliefs because it is a mode or a state where an individual is free to speak, act and seek
contentment without the restraint of an outside force. It gives one the notion that anything and
everything is possible. It also encourages free and authentic thought which is fundamental for the
progression of a society. People should be given the freedom to make their own choices and follow
them through without any reluctance or fear that they will be penalized. Of course, the freedom of
thought and expression also comes with a condition, which is, that those thoughts and expressions
should not become a nuisance for others. In other words, those thoughts and expressions should not
have adverse affect for others.

Regret has a very impactful effect on this novel by helping progress the plot and introduce many
themes that can be seen in every character. Those themes help show the reasoning for regret, as well as
different ways that it can be handled. In this novel, different characters experience different levels of
regret. Some characters experienced more regret than others, and they all handle it differently because
of the circumstances that they were put in. Regret is very present all throughout the book. Regret can

In the very beginning, one of the reasons that Ender was motivated to go to Lusitania was to see the

Difference Between Reasonable Suspicion And Probable Cause
Chapter 5 1. Answer the Chapter Review Questions 1, 5, 7, 10 and 11. 1. Compare and contrast
reasonable suspicion and probable cause. Reasonable suspicion is a reasonable likelihood that a crime
has been, is being, or will be committed. It is a reasonable belief based on facts or circumstances and
is informed by a police officer s training and experience. Reasonable suspicion is seen as more than a
guess or hunch but is less than probable cause. Probable cause is the logical belief, supported by facts
and circumstances, which a crime has been, is being, or will be committed. The difference between the
two are the fact that probable cause has evidence or is fact based whereas reasonable suspicion is a
hunch. 5. Compare and contrast the Aguilar Spinelli test with the totality of circumstances test in
Illinois v. Gates. The Aguilar Spinelli test states that a magistrate must be informed of the reasons to
support the conclusion that such an informant is reliable and credible. The magistrate must be
informed of some of the underlying circumstances relied on by the person providing the information
which also went by the name of the two prong test. The totality of circumstances cancelled out the two

One main reason Henry stayed for the first battle was because he had expectations of grandeur. Henry
naively thought that battles of war would be glorious. He believed he would prove himself a hero. The

Once the actual guns and cannons were being fired in the first battle, Henry was in shock. He was so

In What Way Does The Final Scene of Act 1 Demonstrate Dramatically The
Tensions Between The Characters Which Will Lead to Tragedy?
The final scene of Act 1 in Arthur Miller s A View From The Bridge demonstrates dramatic tension in
a variety of different ways. It is made fairly clear from the final moments of the act when Alfieri
returns to the stage that the play will end in tragedy. Miller shows this through dialogue between the
characters and in the plentiful stage directions with which he liberally sprinkles the text. There is a
range of conflict present in the scene. The central conflict however, involves Eddie s unacknowledged
jealousy towards Rodolfo; this is the strongest.
The above dispute is clearly visible when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alfieri s interlude, between
Eddie leaving his office and the lights coming up on the apartment behind, indicates quite clearly the
play will end in tragedy. Alfieri says I could see every step coming, step after step, like a dark figure
walking down a hall toward a certain door . He adds that he even asked an old, wise woman what she
thought he should do. The answer she gave was pray for him . It is obvious that Eddie is extremely
vulnerable.
Alfieri guesses how Eddie feels for Catherine and gently suggests that he needs to let go.
Unfortunately Eddie cannot bring himself to admit that he loves Catherine like Beatrice and therefore
does not benefit from Alfieri s advice. He reacts furiously . He desperately tries to invent problems in
his mind why Rodolfo cannot marry Catherine because deep down he is jealous.
The next section of the scene opens with the family finishing dinner.
Other tensions become more apparent in this scene. A prime example is that between Eddie and
Beatrice. Their conflict is made apparent as
Beatrice desperately tries to keep the conversation going, sensing
Eddie s growing anger. Instead of trying to suppress his annoyance at
Rodolfo he erupts at the cousins and scorns Beatrice.
Sure. How you gonna catch sardines on a hook?
Everything that Rodolfo says during this scene, Eddie takes the wrong way. I think this partly due to
their very different personalities.
For example Eddie looks out for his

Rent Control Of The United States
Philippe Bouchereau
Prof. Kaycea Campbell
Economics 2
11 May 2016
Rent Control in the United States
Rent control is a law that places a price ceiling on the amount of rent a landlord can charge a tenant.
People from middle and lower income brackets tend to benefit from rent control, while people from
the upper income brackets do not. The whole purpose as to why rent control exists is so that tenants
from the lower income groups are not exploited by greedy landlords through government intervention.
Landlords who own property in expensive cities like San Francisco are not able to charge market rates
of rent as that would displace many poor people. While rent control was created with good intentions
by the government, rent control is overall more harmful to the economy than good. Rent control goes
back to the days of World War I. During the years following the war, the United States was
experiencing a large shortage of housing. John W. Willis, author of the article Short History of Rent
Control Laws wrote, Housing shortages, however, are not new, and it should not be surprising
therefore to find that modern attempts to intervene in the relationship between landlord and tenant find
precedents going back hundreds of years (Willis 54). The war was a reason because the wives of the
soldiers acquired jobs in manufacturing plants, factories, and other places. This caused a surge in
population, which then increased the demand for housing accommodations near places of

Application And Supporting Student Learning
Standard 1: Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning:
Engaging and supporting student learning has developed into an area of strength for me. What I have
witnessed first hand is that by moving through the general education curriculum you can embed skills
predicated on each student s current level of instruction. You use the general education curriculum as a
backdrop and then adapt and modify the curriculum to suit each student s needs. It sounds like it s not
possible when you actually hear it in a credential program. It s not until you actually start becoming
familiar with each student and their needs that it becomes clearer as to what to do. For example, we

I often rewarded students with tokens for going above and beyond in helping their classmates. I want
to inspire them to be not just good students, but even better people!
The impetus for this realization came about as the subject of SBAC and Cal. Alt. testing was broached
in a staff meeting in the winter. We were given booklets that contained questions that were old or
similar questions to those that had appeared before on the test. I used these booklets as a planner for
my winter/spring instruction guide. I went through the booklets with the class doing the problems. As
we approached each problem, if it was a subject we had not yet covered or discussed, I would break it
down and build a lesson around it. It was quite beneficial as we were now working on things that they
would ultimately see on their respective tests. They were doing exactly what their general education
peers were doing. The difference being that rather than glancing over the material, I was using the
material as a base and then adapting and modifying it based on each student s needs.
This was really helpful as when each of the students took their respective tests, they had a fighting
chance. I administered the Cal. Alt. to some of my class, and while they didn t get all the answers
correct, they got quite a few right. There was nothing more rewarding than seeing questions arise on a

  • 2. Function Of A Reflection On Social Media In this reflection I will be talking about social media and the ways that I personally use social media in order to analyze and have an understanding so that I can hopefully improve my social media competence. The types of social media outlets I have are: Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. I don t really post anything on Reddit, Facebook, and Snapchat but on Instagram I try to not post photos with myself in it because I want my followers to see the world I see but the captions I put are usually not really relative to the photo and usually meme sounding. On Twitter I mostly retweet stuff that I think my friends would enjoy like articles or cool announcements and I make polls letting them decided what I should do or where to travel next. Not much thought goes into deciding what I post, I usually decide on the quality of the photo. If the quality of the photo is nice then usually the picture is just as nice. What I try to show my followers is the cool places that I go to or all the neat stuff that I do rather than everyday life like what I eat or how I look. I want to be seen the same way people see me in real life so that they re not taken back at the fact that I may be different to have they see me online. What my posts say about me is that I have different interests whether it s pictures from art museums or of my gundam models. I also have photos from my recent trip to Japan so my posts say that I like to travel. After taking the Narcissistic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Cognitive Development And Piaget s Theory Of Cognitive... The third operation within the Pre operational stage is Class Inclusion . This is when children begin to understand classification, for example, Dalmatians, Greyhounds and Spaniels would be ably classed as dogs. Children who had not reached this stage would struggle with the concept that categories may be divided into subsets, for example, a dog is also an Animal. However, a study by Sugier and Svetner (2006) found children as young as 5 to have an understanding of class inclusion, when presented with a class inclusion test, whereas Piaget believed this wouldn t happen until the child is 7 years old. (younger children, within this stage or before? Or that they still do struggle within this stage?) The third stage of Piaget s theory of cognitive development is the Stage of concrete operations. Within this stage, children still struggle with abstract ideas and concepts, as well as imagining objects or situations they cannot see. In addition, Piaget claimed for his theory to be universal, however research suggests that not everyone reaches the stage of concrete operations. Research by Maclean (2001) found that the concrete stage has more to do with culture and school rather than brain maturation. Therefore, if cognitive development was purely biological, theoretically, late school starters, and those in poverty with a lack of education (which is important in rational thinking) should have the same level of logical thinking. (?) The final stage in Piaget s theory is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. My Hidden Quality Is That I Enjoy Taking Care Of Newborns,... Elvira Heidinger My hidden quality is that I enjoy taking care of newborns, toddlers or elderlies. Usually, I am a very introverted person and I need a long time to open up to people, but it is different if I am with somebody who needs the help. I have a very good connection to them right from the beginning. Taking care of newborns is something I really enjoy. It is my passion to prepare homemade babyfood and to try to stimulate their senses as much as I can in that early stage of their life. However, I also like to spend time with toddleres. I like to plan activities for them and give the opportunites to learn in a playful way. Children learn every day and it is important to me to give them as much possibilities to learn about the world as possible. It is very easy for me to explain things in their level of communication, and I enjoy to see things from their perspective. I read a lot of lecture about different children pedagogics and it is very fascinating to me how important the first years of life are. If my friends would know about my hidden qualities it could enhance, but also damage the relationship with them. A lot of my friends have already children, who are in a young age. It would defentliy enhance the relationship to them, due to the fact that they would know that I am their if they need a babysitter. I also would be able to give them many ideas about what to do with children when they stuck at home because of bad weather or how to handly bad situations. But I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The doping of semiconductor by rare earth metal nanoparticles is an effective way for increasing in photocatalytic activity. Zinc oxide and Lanthanum doped Zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by modifying the gel combustion method. It was found that La can greatly enhance the cytotoxicity and photocatalytic activity of ZnO nanoparticles towards various cell lines and paracetamol drug. These nanoparticles were characterized by various spectroscopic and other techniques which clearly revealed the presence of lanthanum ions. The UV vis spectroscopy displayed the absorption edge shifts towards the visible region after doping with La which is extremely favorable for absorbing the visible light. We compared the enhancing effect of La ions and found that La doped ZnO nanoparticles is more effective than ZnO nanoparticles in promoting the generation of hydroxyl radicals, holes and the photocatalytic activity of ... • 13. Essay On The Age Of Wordsworth The Age of Wordsworth (1798 1832) is considered to have begun with the joint publication of Lyrical Ballads by the Lake Poets , William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. The poetry of this age witnessed altering of the theme from public and impersonal to subjective. Common people and common things were given the most importance. Depiction of countryside, rural life, pastoral life and Nature was common. The subject of the poetry switched from facts, reasons to the world of imagination, passion, and senses. Imagination is the soul of romantic poetry. Poets employed it to experience transcendentalism and spirituality. Emotions were the bed rock of romanticism. It took over reason and logic. Poets talked about the elementary passions of human beings, derived through the senses eyes, nose, ears. It was marked with super naturalism and was devoid of materialism. My Political Philosophy My Political Philosophy Political Philosophy is typically a study of a wide range of topics such as, justice, liberty, equality, rights, law, politics and the application of a codified law. Depending on what the philosophy is, it usually tends to be a very sensitive and a personal ideology that an individual holds within the reality of their existence. Several of the fundamental topics of political philosophy shape up the society that we live in as these specific topics and their implementation by the state ensures a legitimate government. This is important because inequality causes unrest and brings about interminable turmoil which can eventually lead to a collapse of a regime or a state. If every human being is given equal opportunities then the outcome after those opportunities were presented, whether it was success of failure, fully rests upon the individual s shoulders. In case of failure, the government or any other individual would not be held accountable. Freedom is another core value that should be given precedence over all other values and beliefs because it is a mode or a state where an individual is free to speak, act and seek contentment without the restraint of an outside force. It gives one the notion that anything and everything is possible. It also encourages free and authentic thought which is fundamental for the progression of a society. People should be given the freedom to make their own choices and follow them through without any reluctance or fear that they will be penalized. Of course, the freedom of thought and expression also comes with a condition, which is, that those thoughts and expressions should not become a nuisance for others. In other words, those thoughts and expressions should not have adverse affect for others. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Difference Between Reasonable Suspicion And Probable Cause Chapter 5 1. Answer the Chapter Review Questions 1, 5, 7, 10 and 11. 1. Compare and contrast reasonable suspicion and probable cause. Reasonable suspicion is a reasonable likelihood that a crime has been, is being, or will be committed. It is a reasonable belief based on facts or circumstances and is informed by a police officer s training and experience. Reasonable suspicion is seen as more than a guess or hunch but is less than probable cause. Probable cause is the logical belief, supported by facts and circumstances, which a crime has been, is being, or will be committed. The difference between the two are the fact that probable cause has evidence or is fact based whereas reasonable suspicion is a hunch. 5. Compare and contrast the Aguilar Spinelli test with the totality of circumstances test in Illinois v. Gates. The Aguilar Spinelli test states that a magistrate must be informed of the reasons to support the conclusion that such an informant is reliable and credible. The magistrate must be informed of some of the underlying circumstances relied on by the person providing the information which also went by the name of the two prong test. The totality of circumstances cancelled out the two prong test with the rules suggests that there is no single deciding factor, that one must consider all the facts, the context, and conclude from the whole picture whether there is probable cause, or whether an alleged detention is really a detention, or whether a citizen acted under ... Once the actual guns and cannons were being fired in the first battle, Henry was in shock. He was so scared, but he kept fighting because that s what he was supposed to do. The final scene of Act 1 in Arthur Miller s A View From The Bridge demonstrates dramatic tension in a variety of different ways. It is made fairly clear from the final moments of the act when Alfieri returns to the stage that the play will end in tragedy. Miller shows this through dialogue between the characters and in the plentiful stage directions with which he liberally sprinkles the text. There is a range of conflict present in the scene. The central conflict however, involves Eddie s unacknowledged jealousy towards Rodolfo; this is the strongest. The above dispute is clearly visible when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alfieri s interlude, between Eddie leaving his office and the lights coming up on the apartment behind, indicates quite clearly the play will end in tragedy. Alfieri says I could see every step coming, step after step, like a dark figure walking down a hall toward a certain door . He adds that he even asked an old, wise woman what she thought he should do. The answer she gave was pray for him . It is obvious that Eddie is extremely vulnerable. Alfieri guesses how Eddie feels for Catherine and gently suggests that he needs to let go. Unfortunately Eddie cannot bring himself to admit that he loves Catherine like Beatrice and therefore does not benefit from Alfieri s advice. He reacts furiously . He desperately tries to invent problems in his mind why Rodolfo cannot marry Catherine because deep down he is jealous. The next section of the scene opens with the family finishing dinner. Other tensions become more apparent in this scene. A prime example is that between Eddie and Beatrice. Their conflict is made apparent as Beatrice desperately tries to keep the conversation going, sensing Eddie s growing anger. Instead of trying to suppress his annoyance at Rodolfo he erupts at the cousins and scorns Beatrice. Sure. How you gonna catch sardines on a hook? Everything that Rodolfo says during this scene, Eddie takes the wrong way. I think this partly due to their very different personalities. For example Eddie looks out for his ... • 39. Rent Control Of The United States Philippe Bouchereau Prof. Kaycea Campbell Economics 2 11 May 2016 Rent Control in the United States Rent control is a law that places a price ceiling on the amount of rent a landlord can charge a tenant. People from middle and lower income brackets tend to benefit from rent control, while people from the upper income brackets do not. The whole purpose as to why rent control exists is so that tenants from the lower income groups are not exploited by greedy landlords through government intervention. Landlords who own property in expensive cities like San Francisco are not able to charge market rates of rent as that would displace many poor people. While rent control was created with good intentions by the government, rent control is overall more harmful to the economy than good. Rent control goes back to the days of World War I. During the years following the war, the United States was experiencing a large shortage of housing. John W. Willis, author of the article Short History of Rent Control Laws wrote, Housing shortages, however, are not new, and it should not be surprising therefore to find that modern attempts to intervene in the relationship between landlord and tenant find precedents going back hundreds of years (Willis 54). The war was a reason because the wives of the soldiers acquired jobs in manufacturing plants, factories, and other places. This caused a surge in population, which then increased the demand for housing accommodations near places of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What I have witnessed first hand is that by moving through the general education curriculum you can embed skills predicated on each student s current level of instruction. You use the general education curriculum as a backdrop and then adapt and modify the curriculum to suit each student s needs. The impetus for this realization came about as the subject of SBAC and Cal. Alt. testing was broached in a staff meeting in the winter. We were given booklets that contained questions that were old or similar questions to those that had appeared before on the test. I used these booklets as a planner for my winter/spring instruction guide. I went through the booklets with the class doing the problems. As we approached each problem, if it was a subject we had not yet covered or discussed, I would break it down and build a lesson around it. It was quite beneficial as we were now working on things that they would ultimately see on their respective tests. They were doing exactly what their general education peers were doing. The difference being that rather than glancing over the material, I was using the material as a base and then adapting and modifying it based on each student s needs. This was really helpful as when each of the students took their respective tests, they had a fighting chance. I administered the Cal.
