Quick Facts About Galileo
Quick Facts Name Galileo Occupation Astronomer, Scientist Birth Date February 15, 1564 Death
Date January 8, 1642 Did You Know? Galileo supported the Copernican theory, which supports a sun
centered solar system. Did You Know? Galileo was accused twice of heresy by the church for his
beliefs. He remained under house arrest the remaining years of his life. Did You Know? Galileo
devised his own telescope, in which he observed the moon and found Venus had phases like the moon,
proving it rotated around the sun. Did You Know? Galileo played a major role in the scientific

Galileo s ambition pushed him to go further, and in the fall of 1609 he made the fateful decision to
turn his telescope toward the heavens. Using his telescope to explore the universe, Galileo observed
the moon and found Venus had phases like the moon, proving it rotated around the sun, which refuted
the Aristotelian doctrine that the Earth was the center of the universe. He also discovered Jupiter had
revolving moons that didn t revolve around planet Earth. In 1613, he published his observations of
sunspots, which also refuted Aristotelian doctrine that the sun was perfect. Galileo s Books Galileo
published a number of books throughout his career, including: The Operations of the Geometrical and
Military Compass (1604), which revealed Galileo s skills with experiments and practical technological
applications. The Starry Messenger (1610), a small booklet revealing Galileo s discoveries that the
moon was not flat and smooth but a sphere with mountains and craters. Discourse on Bodies in Water
(1612), which refuted the Aristotelian explanation of why objects float in water, saying that it wasn t
because of their flat shape, but instead the weight of the object in relation to the water it displaced.

Hamline University Case Study
There are many options when it comes to choosing a college after high school, Yes it can be hard and
confusing, but if we are well informed, it could be a piece of cake! I have visited and gathered
information about Hamline university and century college this year.
Hamline university is a good school. Hamline is a private school which its campus would be
considered small. Having a small campus is a good idea if you want to be seen as an individual and
not just a number. Continuing on to that, the cost of Hamline is a bit expensive but, comparing it to
other schools like the University of Minnesota it s a bit cheaper. Hamline would be a good choice for
someone who wants a private school with a small campus and medium cost range.

Leela and Bhaskar, an urban middle class couple have been hearing the terrifying screams of sexual
assault on a woman for several weeks in their neighborhood. Leela discloses her fears and persists on
Bhaskar to call the police, to which he acts unresponsively calling Leela oversensitive about the issue
and he also points at the difficulty of persuading the police about the credibility of the crime. At one
instance it is revealed that though Bhaskar has apparently no desire to do anything for the crime being
committed freely before their eyes day after day, nevertheless he does watch it, as Leela s dialogue

Leadership Assignment
I ve been working at Rosati s in Pewaukee for over two years now, we ve gone through management
and ownership changes and have generally had a lot of new and old employees leave. While being
under different ownership since about December of 2017, I have seen the culture and atmosphere shift
first hand. When I first started working at Rosati s in 2015 I was referred by my best friend and had a
friend that previously worked there. I had gotten the job without even having an interview beforehand,
I was hired via phone call and looking back now it wasn t very professional. The owner of the

Some of the people employed here including myself switch roles within the workplace often. For
example; I m trained and able to do every job within Rosati s. I manage phones and cashiering
regularly but I also tend kitchen and man the oven when I need to. There are around 15 people
employed here, some of them hired just recently. We have four delivery drivers (Bob, Jake, Trevor,
Scott), three or four mostly pizza line workers (Alex, Becca, Michael, Keith), etc. However, when it is
expected that one of us needs help on a busy night we jump in wherever help is needed. That could be
attributed to being a value we all share; that we will help where it is needed. Another value we share is
having fun in the workplace. We all try to get along the best we can whether it s by sharing stories or
making jokes. We try to make it an enjoyable place to be. A third value that can be identified within
this small pizza culture is that we try to look and act our best, especially towards customers (even
those that can t be helped to be nice). We understand that appearance and appropriate body language
and etiquette is important and we try to carry that out as best we can, even while being covered in
flour ninety percent of our shifts. The norms identified from the values discussed above are as follows;
to achieve maximum success in the workplace we re expected to help other stations when busy.

Pros And Cons Of Natural Gas Fracking
Fracking is a relatively new way of retrieving oil and natural gases from shale rock and other natural
resources that reside in the earth s core, using air and water together. Thus far it has been proven to be
a quicker alternative to oil well drilling compared to conventional drilling methods. Oil and gas
companies are still learning about the side effects of this elaborate process day by day. Despite a few
side effects that have been discovered within the process, fracking has been very efficient and
beneficial. As stated in, Pros and Cons of Fracking: 5 Key Issues , Fracking saves lives, and it saves
them right now and not at some indiscernible date well into the future .

The nation is shifting towards electricity generated by natural gas over the past ten years 81 percent of
new electricity capacity has been gas fired and state governments are playing regulatory catch up with
the drilling technology s rapid expansion to meet this burgeoning demand .
(http://www.gracelinks.org/191/natural gas fracking introduction) However; to meet this demand, gas
and oil companies have ignored some rather important harmful effects of hydraulic fracturing. These
harmful effects include; water droughts, increased pollution, the spread of toxins, and possible
negative influence on local economies. Water droughts because of the fracking process are caused by
using up to approximately one hundred times more water than previous drilling methods. This means
that gradually less and less of the world where drilling is active or was active will have the ability to
attain non chemical induced water. The article, List of Pros and Cons of Fracking published by
Occupy Theory states that, Anywhere from 10 to 40 percent of fracking waste water flows back to the
original drilling surface (http://occupytheory.org/list of pros and cons of fracking/) Hydraulic
fracturing causes pollution in several different aspects. Oil and gas companies are not required to
provide a list of chemicals used in the process which causes those in the areas where drilling is present
to not be able to adapt correctly to these toxins. According to research, a few of the chemicals that
have been found present in fracking include; benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene. These three
chemicals are known to the scientific community to cause harmful effects on the health of people.
Also, the article, Pros and Cons of Fracking: 5 Key Issues explains that because of the dropping gas
prices, drilling use will

The Revelation Of Jesus Christ
There is always someone who choose to deny the revelation of Jesus Christ. In this investigation, it
will be looked at how Jesus proved himself to the naysayers of his time. This will be accomplished by
looking at several different factors that include topics of was Jesus mentally ill when he claimed to be
God? How did Jesus prove that he was not only talking the talk but he was also walking the walk?
This was done the evidence of the actions he performed. Finally, an evaluation will be done to prove
that when an individual has a revelation of Jesus they are also seeing the image of God.
There could be several explanations to how Jesus considered himself to be God. According to the
article beyond blind faith, Another possibility is that Jesus was sincere but self deceived. We have a
name for a person today who thinks he is God. Mentally disabled. But as we look at the life of Christ,
we see no evidence of the abnormality and imbalance we find in a mentally ill person. Rather, we find
the greatest composure under pressure (Little, 1988).
There was no evidence of Christ being unstable in any way. To the contrary, he was an image of
stability and steadfastness. From one point of view, however, claims don t mean much. Talk is cheap.
Anyone can make claims. There have been others who have claimed to be God. I could claim to be
God, and you could claim to be God, but the question all of us must answer is, What credentials do we
bring to substantiate our claim? In my

Communism And Cubo-Futurism
CONSTRUCTIVISM
Background, 1914 1917
The catastrophic violence and destruction of World War I tore Russia apart. And with the revolution
and civil war that immediately followed, the country was in near ruin. The revolution came largely
due to the continuous strain of an unsuccessful war in which Russian losses were in the millions.
Broken down by the demands of war and the overthrow of the Tsar, Russia was prepared to embrace
the future. Communism was the new rule and it held a lot of promise for those who showed support.
In Russia, as in Europe, war was intertwined with artistic innovation avant garde artists were clinging
to new languages of expression. Cubism was emerging in Paris, and Futurism in Italy. Russia artists
combined the two, calling it Cubo Futurism. While Cubism abandoned traditional perspectives,
Futurism rejected the past and celebrated modernity. Combined, these two movements were used to
express a reaction to the bourgeois society and elitist values of Tsarist Russia. Many of the works of
this movement were in the medium of books and publications. The use of coarse paper and handcraft
production methods expressed the poverty of peasant society as well as the meager resources of artists
and writers (Meggs 287). An example of the style was a playbook for the poet Vladimir Mayakovsky
(see fig. 49). In it, rough abstract drawings combine with varying type weights to convey meaning.
The logical progression from Cubo Futurism was Suprematism. The

Examples Of Foreshadowing In The Club Dumas
The Club Dumas, by Arturo Pérez Reverte, is about a devious and cunning book dealer, Lucas Corso.
Soon after meaning with Boris Balkan, another book dealer, to authenticate a draft of The Three
Musketeers, Corso is hired by Varo Borja. Borja, a rich man, who is a collector of many books, hires
him to authenticate a copy of Nine Doors of the Kingdom of Shadows, a book which supposedly
contains instructions for summoning the Devil. After the author was burned alive, there are only three
copies of the book left in the world, but only one is a true original. In the time following, Corso is
taking on a long, winding journey filled with devious woman, and crazed old men, to authentic the
book for Borja, as well as the Dumas manuscript for himself. ... Show more content on

This technique primarily shown in the first portion of the book, told by Boris Balkan, who at the time
is appeared to be friendly with Corso, but reveals much about his personality via foreshadowing. On
page 6, Balkan is talking to Corso about the authenticity of the Dumas draft he brought in, when
Corso began to smile, In time, I found, he could also smile like a cruel, hungry wolf... (6). Later, while
talking about Corsos love for reading at a tender age, Balkan says Although it was highly unlikely that
Corso s childhood ever merited the term tender (9). Soon thereafter, Balkan was telling the reader how
Corso was described by a close friend, Precise, unscrupulous, and deadly as a black mamba (12).
Majority of the foreshadowing comes within the first couple dozen of pages, all mainly about how
Corso is a bad person in someway, which is best illustrated on 16, when Balkan states But the positive
feeling was quickly dispelled, as when you touch your pocket and realize that your wallet has just
been stolen (16). All of these foreshadows set up for an intriguing mystery, where Corso s fox like
cunning and deception are used often, though he sometimes gets beat at his own

Leadership Self Assessment Of The Field Of Nursing Leadership
Leadership Self Assessment
In the field of nursing leadership is critical within the units and nursing practice. However, in the
healthcare feel we may find ourselves interacting with different types of leaders. Upon completion of
my leadership self assessment, I was found to be a Participative, (democratic) type leader. To
understand what this means the individual must understand that there are three main types of
leadership styles. There is the Authoritarian, (autocratic) leader, participative, (democratic) leader, and
Delegative, (laissez faire). In alignment with theses leadership styles, are leadership and management
theories. It is also known that certain leadership styles excel in specific work environments. The health
care field involves organization, planning and implementing changes. Therefore, the job of a leader
can be very complex.
Upon completion of my leadership self assessment. It was determined by a strong indicator of 40
points, that I am a Participative Style leader. My second place scoring of 31 was in the Delagative,
(laissez fair) style of leadership. Coming in last was the authoritarian leader. The type of leadership
style that I exhibit is also known as a democratic leader. A democratic leader is known for being very
people oriented. The democratic leader encourages input from their peers, and does so with an open
mind. Often decisions under this leadership seem to occur at a much slower pace, (due to taking the

Field Observation
Field Notes: Observation 1 On January 29, a Friday, I observed as five student workers ate their lunch
around the UCI Athletics compound area. It was exactly 12:15 PM, when the student workers marched
into the area and grabbed their lunches. These are my co workers, so I did not have to do much to
blend in. However, I did want to act natural, so I drank from a bottle of water and sat in a chair in the
corner of the compound. They were all eating at the same time, because they only had a short time
until they had to get back to work. The first person I observed pulled his lunch out of an orange sack,
in which he carried all of his items to work. He had a variety of items he brought to snack one. He

I could tell that he had made his lunch himself. This person was wearing all black, and like many of
the other students, he was carrying his lunch in his backpack. He kept most of his lunch in his
backpack, and only took out what he was about to eat. The first item he took out to eat, was a home
made sandwich. Upon my observation, it was hard to actually tell everything that was in his sandwich.
From what I could actually view, he had turkey, cheese, tomato, and a jalapeno in his sandwich. The
jalapeno was especially surprising, and his lunch struck me as unique. In addition to this sandwich, he
had fruit snacks and a bottle of water. Moving to another individual, this person sat quietly on a
bucket, while eating a small bag of pumpkin seeds. This does not really qualify as lunch, but it is a
snack. Of all the students eating in the compound area, his lunch was the smallest. Finally, the last
person I observed in the area, was a student eating another sandwich. All he was eating was a
sandwich, and had no water or any other snacks. In his sandwich, all that appeared to be in it was
turkey and cheese. It was a simple sandwich, but the student did manage to toast the bread. This
student was near me, so when the others left and were walking out of the compound, I asked him if I
could interview him after work. He agreed to an interview when we got off of

Ecofeminism And The Ecology Of Feminism
King, Ynestra. The Ecology of Feminism and the Feminism of Ecology. Healing the
Wounds: The Promise of Ecofeminism. Plant, Judith ed. Philedelphia: New Society
Publishers, 1989.
In his article Healing the Wounds: Feminism, Ecology, and the Nature/Culture Dualism, Ynestra King
says: In ecofeminism, nature is the central category of analysis. An analysis of the interrelated
domination of nature psyche and sexuality, human oppression, and nonhuman nature and the historic
position of women in relation to those forms of domination is the starting point of ecofeminism theory.
According to Ynestra King, ecofeminism principles are based on the following beliefs: Due to women

In the book, she uses the approaches and method of ethics, epistemology and metaphysics to examine
ecology s link with the feminist movement. In particular, she holds that a main cause of the
environmental crisis is the existence of the so called twin domination. According to twin domination
thesis, environmental degradation and exploitation and oppression of women share the same
conceptual and evaluative structure, that is, an oppressive conceptual framework, one that functions to
explain, maintain, and justify relationships of unjustified domination and subordination. According to
Warren, there are three common features of an oppressive conceptual framework:1. value
hierarchical thinking, i.e., up down thinking which places higher value, status, or prestige on what is
up rather than on what is down ; 2.value dualisms, i.e., disjunctive pairs in which the pairs are seen as
oppositional (rather than as complementary) and exclusive (rather than as inclusive); 3. the logic of
domination, a logical structure of argumentation that justifies domination and subordination . The last
is explanatorily basic as the bottom lines in ecofeminist discussions of oppression, if accepted, it
provides a justification for keeping downs down . In short, for any X and Y, if X is morally superior to
Y, then X is morally justified in subordination Y (Warren, The Power and the Promise of Ecological
Feminism 128). Thus, at least, in western societies, humankind is morally justified in subordination
nature, and men are justified in subordinating women. The two forms of oppression are conceptually
maintained by a patriarchal oppressive conceptual framework characterized by a logic of domination.
It thereby explains at a conceptual level why the eradication of sexist oppression requires the
eradication of naturism, which leads to reconceive ecofeminism

Rapidly, he gathered his forces and began his approach to the village to attack in the broad daylight.
He did this without being able to see the village yet due to their concealment in the mountains. At this
time, General George A. Custer s 7th Cavalry force was comprised of three battalions with four

Major Marcus Reno, and Captain Frederick Benteen. All of these leaders had served in the Civil War

Essay On Hate Crimes
The Stakeholders The Hate Crime Opponents The societal problem of hate crimes has many
stakeholders not only opposing hate crimes but also supporting them. Of the many stakeholders
opposing hate crimes, specifically those relating to a race bias, Black Lives Matter is the most
prominent one in the media. Black Lives Matter, which was founded on July 13, 2013, is an activist
community that strives to end the world of anti Blackness, where every Black person has the social,
economic, and political power to thrive (What We Believe). The Black Lives Matter movement has
recently been geared toward police brutality. Black Lives Matter believes that police intentionally treat
blacks differently and see them more as a threat than other races. They believe that the police inflict
violent behavior on blacks because of their skin color. The Black Lives Matter website says, We are
guided by the fact that all Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender
identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs,
immigration status, or location (What We Believe). A prominent stakeholder that opposes hate crimes
relating to a religion bias is Alliance Defending Freedom. Alliance Defending Freedom is a Christian

How Did The Beatles Change The World
There is no question that the Beatles had an enormous impact on music but their experience growing
up in a changing world also impacted them. They started their career as working class boys from
Liverpool with mop top hair and matching suits and they enjoyed the adoration of teenagers around
the world. But just like those teenagers they grew, questioned, and developed into world citizens who
wanted to do more than just make popular music they wanted to also use their talents express
themselves, to make a social commentary, and explore the richness of possibilities in many different
musical techniques. Three of their songs that represent their youth, maturation, and awareness of the

In trauma, abnormal coagulation panels at the time of presentation are associated with a 3 fold

the fishing rod with in angle, transverse and longitudinal. By using the microscope and within
different scale to see the fiber and the epoxy. And will find out in different cut the effect to the volume
fraction, and to prove why transverse cut is the only option for the calculation
Introduction
Composites, is a material that made with two or more different material. People can see or use it
anytime, anywhere. Composite materials can provide different advantages from mixing different
materials, and usually combined metal (aluminum), polymers (epoxy) or ceramic (silicon). One of the
most common example for the composites will be fishing rod. Nowadays fishing rod usually make
with glass fiber/ carbon fiber and epoxy. Which glass fiber or carbon fiber are brittle but strong, and
epoxy can provide a high mechanical properties. Result of the fishing rod can be have a better
toughness, and lightweight. Because of that in this lab, the main objective is going to use the optical
microscopy and find out the fiber s alignment, the structure pattern and the mechanical properties
from the fishing rod.
Experiment:
In this lab, we were required to test multiple samples of the fishing rod, which they were already
polished. First we have to set up the computer

Group Presentation: Progressivisms
Woodrow Wilsons Acts to Progressivisms
In the year of 1912, Democrat electoral candidate Woodrow Wilson was running in the Presidential
Election against T.R. Roosevelt, W. Taft and E. Debs. After winning by a sland slide, and being

this nation from them, thus he created 2 antitrust laws and establishing the first federal bank.
Thus, in 1912 Wilson started to reshape America The Federal Reserve Act of 1912 was the beginning
of President Wilson s one of three progressivisms acts, within the first 2 yrs. of him being in power.
This was Wilson s first act as President and his progressive movement to help and stabilize a nation
from an economic depression, unfair labor exploitations, and end of corporate monopolies.
I do not want a government that will take care of me, he declared. I want a government that will make
other men take their hands off so I can take care of myself. Woodrow Wilson:
This act states law help reconstructed the national banking and currency system. This was an effort to
regulate the country s credit and monetary affairs. It provided a central institution that could hold the
reserves of the commercial banks and increase those reserves, thereby making the nation s money
supply more elastic in order to cope with changing economic conditions, especially with an economy
recovering from a depression. In

Baby Igneous Rocks Research Paper
Volcano eruptions bring newborn rocks to the world. Every year, rock families would wait around
volcanos for the erupted magma or surface lava to cool down. Each family would adopt the baby
igneous rocks of their type, who share the same genes, or minerals, as them. These igneous rocks
could have a variety of appearance and crystal sizes. Some rocks composed of surface lava have
smaller, less complex crystalline structures. They were cooled much faster when they were in contact
with air or water, and larger, more complex crystalline structure would not be formed before they
harden. On the adoption day, all kinds of rocks could be spotted; with different lustre, colour,
crystalline structure, and mineral composition. As baby igneous rocks

The Greatest Corruption In Soviet Union s The Great Purge
The greatest corruption that was presented by the Soviet Union was the Great Purge. The Great Purge
was a period of time between 1936 and 1938. During this period, Stalin ordered a large scale purge of
all the communist party leaders that he felt were a threat to his uprising. Not only did Stalin banish
some of his party leaders, but he also ordered for the increase in imprisonments, police surveillance
and unnecessary executions. This event is investigated in the novel when the hens refuse to give their
eggs to the pigs. Napoleon tries to resolve this conflict by torturing the hens by starving them. Several
of the hens die, and the rest of the surviving hens concede to Napoleon. Soon after, during a meeting

Sulphur Queen Essay
The Sulphur Queen was a 523 foot tanker that was originally intended to carry oil, but was converted
to carry sulphur. On Feb. 3, 1963, the ship sent a radio report that placed it 230 miles southeast of
New Orleans, La., according to a report by Time Magazine. Then nothing. There was no SOS and no
warning of trouble. The ship simply disappeared. Two weeks later, pieces of a raft, a life vest and a
broken oar washed up on Florida beaches. An investigation launched by the Coast Guard shortly after
the disappearance concluded that the vessel was nowhere near seaworthy and likely caught fire at sea.
Such a conclusion was not far fetched. According to the article, once, the Queen actually sailed into a
New Jersey port with fires smoldering, unloaded her cargo, and sailed off again still burning. There s
really no explanation for where the term bermuda comes from besides it being the name for a group of

The Rights Of Women During The World Is Treated The Same,...
To start off, the very broad term of equality is the notion that every human being in the world is
treated the same, no matter their age, gender, class, or race. Comparing to other political systems,
democracy values equality more than any other as it involves the commitment in upholding equal
treatments between citizens. To measure the level of democracy in a territory in terms of associational
autonomy, one must observe the level of equality that is promoted in that country. Looking at any
state, minorities are primarily the ones discriminated against by their government and citizens. In
Tunisia, the minorities are women and as a result they were secluded in economic, political, and social
affairs. The period of time when women were mostly segregated in Tunisia was when the state was
under the possession of France. Women living in Tunisia during this period were mainly housewives
as they did not have much access to education and were required to wear veils in public. However,
once Tunisia received its independence in 1956 from France, the Personal Status Code was created by
the republic government which provided females several legal rights such as the right to divorce, the
right to receive an education, and the right to obtain an occupation. As the laws were implemented
over the years, women activists noticed that the legislation was too elusive and did not properly
outline the terms for equality. Due to this, women experienced discrimination in several areas such as

As an effective leader one has to be especially close to their subordinates in order to provide them
with the necessary purpose, direction and motivation to complete their assigned task. The tactical level
is usually found at the company or platoon level, this leader is always looking to accomplish the short
term goals in support of the long term mission. Tactical leaders must know how to solve problems
quickly and without hesitation, they have more direct influence over soldiers because they are in the
trenches with them. At this stage the leader has to council, correct and led their soldiers through the
direct approach of leadership.
Organization leadership This leadership style is where the leader actually has to plan and synchronize
training in order that the small units are able to produce the tactical into the operational action. At the
organization level a leader is not in a traditional leadership position when they are directly in charge of
soldiers. Leaders in this style are the one whom establish section that develop plans and create orders.
When a result is achieved at this level the entire team is responsibility for the outcome. Organizational
leaders make decision that affect the long term goal and helps plan the short term mission for their
subordinate units. The tactical and organization leadership styles have some very different level

The Censorship Of The Journalism

People often downplay the significance of this huge task. Journalism allows people to know

Without journalism the government would probably be in control of everything and fellow citizens

Not only was he a journalist he was also a publisher and printer. He was rather successful in this area
and it could be due to the fact that he would be neutral on subjects and scrutinize all sides of an issue

of the freedom of the press, and he wouldn t limit the information he knows to the people in America.
A reporter is another essential position in journalism. A reporter is the one who watches and pictures
the events in great detail in order to inform viewers. They have to state their own views and also the
facts of the things they are covering. This job includes having to gather the news and present it in a

When it comes to political issues people often think, whether someone is a Republican or Democrat,
that politicians have to back their parties legislation no matter what, and that politicians despise each

however, everything is not always black and white, and there are a lot of gray areas when it comes to

come together for a cause; human sex trafficking just so happens to be one of those concerns. Along

Unit 6 Monopolies In Industry

American History
8 December 2014
Unit 6 Paper: Monopolies in Industry In the late 1800s after the Civil War America had become one of
the leading nations in Industry many new industries were popping up across the nation leading to
heavy competition. As competition grew companies wanted to join together and help each other get
rid of competition, but there was no way that these companies could trust each other. Due to this the
trust was formed, in a trust, stock owners of many competing companies give control of their stock to
a committee, or group, of trustees. (2) These trust could then lead to monopolies which gave control of
an entire industry to one company, one company that was able to achieve a monopoly was the
Standard Oil Company. The government should break up the Standard Oil Company monopoly
because it could lead to unfair prices to the public overall. In the American economy and society trust

With the Standard Oil Trust they could have priced their oil at whatever they wanted which was unfair
to the public and to any industries that needed oil. It would make oil less affordable and would create
outrage for those who need it, such as companies that would make oil based products. Oil based
products would then cost more to produce which would then raise the price of the product along with
other products that needed to be transported. Some might believe that monopolies are a good thing
because the product comes from one source and it will take longer for that product to run out, but
either way there wouldn t be as many jobs available so people wouldn t be able to buy the product and
as mentioned before the company can charge what they want for the product. With competition

Why People Fail At Weight Loss
Losing weight is a struggle. So many of us are overweight and look to all sorts of weight loss methods
in order to lose the extra pounds. Still, the vast majority of people on diets fail at losing that weight.
More often than not, they even gain it all back, plus more! What makes us fail so often? Even people
who are normally so responsible and motivated tend to fail at this endeavor. In order to be motivated
to do something and see it through to the end, there needs to be a balance between work put in, and the
reward you get from that work. The main reason that most people fail at weight loss is because the
hard work usually vastly outweighs the outcome. You could eat right and exercise for weeks and only
lose a few pounds. Such small progress ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel like I cannot stop eating. I have lost ALMOST 30 pounds and I am slowly starting to put it back
on again. I have been feeling kinda bad about myself lately, and with that comes comforting myself
with food. I know that if I get to the gym, that will help, but mentally, I have fallen off the weight loss
wagon really hard and need to pull myself back up on it again. It s easier said than done. I was
thinking about doing a fast today and just re centering myself again. Saying some prayers and reading
my Bible to get my head back in the game. I give all the glory to God for my loss so far, because
without Him, I couldn t do this. I honestly do not have the will power. Why does food hold such
power over some of us? I look at people on television or even people out in public that are thin. I am
insanely jealous. What must that be like to be thin? I ve never known what it feels like. What must it
be like to not let your life revolve around food? To not always think about what can I eat next? or I
should invite a friend to dinner so I can eat something yummy. My mindset is just all wrong and I don
t know how to change that. I don t know why food comforts me, but it does. It makes me feel good for
about two minutes. I get lost in the flavors and the feeling of endless chewing. Usually when I eat a
high fat meal, I feel like crap when it s all done. Why can t I remember that feeling? Why doesn t that
sit with me in my mind? I hate the way I look. My body disgusts me. I don t understand how my
husband can want me, but he does. I m totally blessed by him. He thinks I m the most beautiful
woman in the world. I get depressed really easily, and I think it s because I ve been eating so badly.

going grocery shopping today and my goal is to buy everything healthy. Lots of fruits and veggies and
chicken. I think another problem is that I m getting bored with

A Dbq Essay About Mansa Musa
Like a dog does tricks for food, Mansa Musa did a variety of activities to spread word of his fame.
Mansa Musa, an ancient ruler of the kingdom Mali in Western Africa, ruled from 1312 1337 BCE.
While Mali was under his rule, Mansa Musa, expanded gold salt trade, built a large standing army, as
well as took part in one of the 5 Pillars of Faith, a holy pilgrimage known as the hajj. Although the hajj
is a religious event, Musa used it as a tool to do much more than show his devotion to Allah. Through
his need to prove his importance, going out of his way, and creating impressions, Mansa Musa s main
intention while going on his hajj was to spread his fame. Because of his need to prove his importance
and power, Mansa Musa s primary reason for going on his hajj was to spread word of his name. An
excerpt from Al Umari s Masalik al Absar reads, He had begun to use this argument but I realized that
meeting [the sultan] was repugnant to him because he would be obliged to kiss the ground and sultan s
hand (Doc E). Mansa Musa refused to meet with a local ruler for he feared he might have to show
submission to him by kissing his hand. The fact that Musa was reluctant to meet with the sultan

Bret Harte Use The Symbolism In The Luck Of Roaring Camp
The Luck of Roaring Camp In August 1868, Bret Harte published a book called The Luck of Roaring
Camp. There was a group of miners that lived in a strictly male dominant society...except for the fact
that there was one woman. Her name was Cherokee Sal, and she got pregnant while she was living
there. The baby played a very significant role in the story because it changed everyone s lives in that
camp. In The Luck of Roaring Camp, Bret Harte uses the birth of a baby as a transformative figure in
men, and to symbolize that their luck had run out in the end. In the beginning of the story, the males
are not very fond of any new people joining the camp. Roaring Camp is unwelcoming to strangers.

After Cherokee Sal died, the miners took The Luck in as one of their own. It was kind of weird that
one hundred plus men were taking care of a baby and there were no females there to help...except for
Mother Nature. Nature was his nurse and play fellow. For him she would let slip between the leaves
golden shafts of sunlight that fell just within his grasp; she would send wandering breezes to visit him
with the balm of bay and resinous gums; to him the tall redwoods nodded familiarly and sleepily, the
bumble bees buzzed, and the rooks clawed a slumbrous accompaniment, (120). This quote explains
that nature can be seen as his mother because it always treats The Luck very well. Mother Nature was
also treating the men very well, and they were also getting extremely lucky by finding large amounts
of gold! Everything was going fine until there luck had finally run out. Their luck had run out once
The Luck seemed unhappy. Once this happens, Mother Nature comes striking back with the winter of

seemed to flow with the water and blot out the fair valley, (121). This storm caused many people to

While being under different ownership since about December of 2017, I have seen the culture and atmosphere shift first hand. When I first started working at Rosati s in 2015 I was referred by my best friend and had a friend that previously worked there. • 6. Pros And Cons Of Natural Gas Fracking Fracking is a relatively new way of retrieving oil and natural gases from shale rock and other natural resources that reside in the earth s core, using air and water together. Thus far it has been proven to be a quicker alternative to oil well drilling compared to conventional drilling methods. Oil and gas companies are still learning about the side effects of this elaborate process day by day. Despite a few side effects that have been discovered within the process, fracking has been very efficient and beneficial. As stated in, Pros and Cons of Fracking: 5 Key Issues , Fracking saves lives, and it saves them right now and not at some indiscernible date well into the future . The nation is shifting towards electricity generated by natural gas over the past ten years 81 percent of new electricity capacity has been gas fired and state governments are playing regulatory catch up with the drilling technology s rapid expansion to meet this burgeoning demand . (http://www.gracelinks.org/191/natural gas fracking introduction) However; to meet this demand, gas and oil companies have ignored some rather important harmful effects of hydraulic fracturing. These harmful effects include; water droughts, increased pollution, the spread of toxins, and possible negative influence on local economies. Water droughts because of the fracking process are caused by using up to approximately one hundred times more water than previous drilling methods. This means that gradually less and less of the world where drilling is active or was active will have the ability to attain non chemical induced water. The article, List of Pros and Cons of Fracking published by Occupy Theory states that, Anywhere from 10 to 40 percent of fracking waste water flows back to the original drilling surface (http://occupytheory.org/list of pros and cons of fracking/) Hydraulic fracturing causes pollution in several different aspects. Oil and gas companies are not required to provide a list of chemicals used in the process which causes those in the areas where drilling is present to not be able to adapt correctly to these toxins. According to research, a few of the chemicals that have been found present in fracking include; benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene. These three chemicals are known to the scientific community to cause harmful effects on the health of people. In this investigation, it will be looked at how Jesus proved himself to the naysayers of his time. This will be accomplished by looking at several different factors that include topics of was Jesus mentally ill when he claimed to be God? How did Jesus prove that he was not only talking the talk but he was also walking the walk? This was done the evidence of the actions he performed. Finally, an evaluation will be done to prove that when an individual has a revelation of Jesus they are also seeing the image of God. There could be several explanations to how Jesus considered himself to be God. According to the article beyond blind faith, Another possibility is that Jesus was sincere but self deceived. We have a name for a person today who thinks he is God. Mentally disabled. But as we look at the life of Christ, we see no evidence of the abnormality and imbalance we find in a mentally ill person. Rather, we find the greatest composure under pressure (Little, 1988). There was no evidence of Christ being unstable in any way. To the contrary, he was an image of stability and steadfastness. From one point of view, however, claims don t mean much. Talk is cheap. Anyone can make claims. There have been others who have claimed to be God. • 8. Communism And Cubo-Futurism CONSTRUCTIVISM Background, 1914 1917 The catastrophic violence and destruction of World War I tore Russia apart. And with the revolution and civil war that immediately followed, the country was in near ruin. The revolution came largely due to the continuous strain of an unsuccessful war in which Russian losses were in the millions. Broken down by the demands of war and the overthrow of the Tsar, Russia was prepared to embrace the future. Communism was the new rule and it held a lot of promise for those who showed support. In Russia, as in Europe, war was intertwined with artistic innovation avant garde artists were clinging to new languages of expression. Cubism was emerging in Paris, and Futurism in Italy. Russia artists combined the two, calling it Cubo Futurism. While Cubism abandoned traditional perspectives, Futurism rejected the past and celebrated modernity. Combined, these two movements were used to express a reaction to the bourgeois society and elitist values of Tsarist Russia. Many of the works of this movement were in the medium of books and publications. The use of coarse paper and handcraft production methods expressed the poverty of peasant society as well as the meager resources of artists and writers (Meggs 287). An example of the style was a playbook for the poet Vladimir Mayakovsky (see fig. 49). In it, rough abstract drawings combine with varying type weights to convey meaning. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the book, she uses the approaches and method of ethics, epistemology and metaphysics to examine ecology s link with the feminist movement. In particular, she holds that a main cause of the environmental crisis is the existence of the so called twin domination. According to twin domination thesis, environmental degradation and exploitation and oppression of women share the same conceptual and evaluative structure, that is, an oppressive conceptual framework, one that functions to explain, maintain, and justify relationships of unjustified domination and subordination. According to Warren, there are three common features of an oppressive conceptual framework:1. value hierarchical thinking, i.e., up down thinking which places higher value, status, or prestige on what is up rather than on what is down ; 2.value dualisms, i.e., disjunctive pairs in which the pairs are seen as oppositional (rather than as complementary) and exclusive (rather than as inclusive); 3. the logic of domination, a logical structure of argumentation that justifies domination and subordination . The last is explanatorily basic as the bottom lines in ecofeminist discussions of oppression, if accepted, it provides a justification for keeping downs down . In short, for any X and Y, if X is morally superior to Y, then X is morally justified in subordination Y (Warren, The Power and the Promise of Ecological Feminism 128). Thus, at least, in western societies, humankind is morally justified in subordination nature, and men are justified in subordinating women. The two forms of oppression are conceptually maintained by a patriarchal oppressive conceptual framework characterized by a logic of domination. To start off, the very broad term of equality is the notion that every human being in the world is treated the same, no matter their age, gender, class, or race. Comparing to other political systems, democracy values equality more than any other as it involves the commitment in upholding equal treatments between citizens. To measure the level of democracy in a territory in terms of associational autonomy, one must observe the level of equality that is promoted in that country. Looking at any state, minorities are primarily the ones discriminated against by their government and citizens. In Tunisia, the minorities are women and as a result they were secluded in economic, political, and social affairs. The period of time when women were mostly segregated in Tunisia was when the state was under the possession of France. Women living in Tunisia during this period were mainly housewives as they did not have much access to education and were required to wear veils in public. However, once Tunisia received its independence in 1956 from France, the Personal Status Code was created by the republic government which provided females several legal rights such as the right to divorce, the right to receive an education, and the right to obtain an occupation. As the laws were implemented over the years, women activists noticed that the legislation was too elusive and did not properly outline the terms for equality. Still, the vast majority of people on diets fail at losing that weight. More often than not, they even gain it all back, plus more! What makes us fail so often? Even people who are normally so responsible and motivated tend to fail at this endeavor. In order to be motivated to do something and see it through to the end, there needs to be a balance between work put in, and the reward you get from that work. Mansa Musa, an ancient ruler of the kingdom Mali in Western Africa, ruled from 1312 1337 BCE. While Mali was under his rule, Mansa Musa, expanded gold salt trade, built a large standing army, as well as took part in one of the 5 Pillars of Faith, a holy pilgrimage known as the hajj. Although the hajj is a religious event, Musa used it as a tool to do much more than show his devotion to Allah. Through his need to prove his importance, going out of his way, and creating impressions, Mansa Musa s main intention while going on his hajj was to spread his fame. Because of his need to prove his importance and power, Mansa Musa s primary reason for going on his hajj was to spread word of his name. An excerpt from Al Umari s Masalik al Absar reads, He had begun to use this argument but I realized that meeting [the sultan] was repugnant to him because he would be obliged to kiss the ground and sultan s hand (Doc E).
