1. Great Expectation Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Great Expectation" can be a challenging yet rewarding
endeavor. The complexity lies not only in the literary analysis required but also in delving into
the intricate layers of character development, plot intricacies, and thematic nuances present in
Charles Dickens' masterpiece.
To begin with, one must possess a deep understanding of the Victorian era, as the novel is
intricately woven into the social, economic, and cultural fabric of that time. Exploring the
characters, such as Pip and Miss Havisham, demands a keen eye for the psychological
dimensions Dickens skillfully integrates into their personalities. Moreover, unraveling the
symbolism and allegorical elements requires an adept ability to connect the dots and decipher the
author's intentions.
The narrative structure of "Great Expectations" is another hurdle. Juggling between first-person
and third-person perspectives, Dickens weaves a complex web of storytelling that demands
careful attention to detail. It is not just about recounting events but deciphering the impact of the
narrative choices on the reader's perception and engagement.
Additionally, the essay should transcend a mere summary and engage in critical analysis,
exploring themes like social class, ambition, and morality. Unveiling the layers of Dickens' social
commentary necessitates a nuanced approach, combining historical context with a contemporary
lens.
Furthermore, an effective essay on "Great Expectations" demands a well-honed writing style that
can convey complex ideas in a clear and coherent manner. The challenge is to strike a balance
between academic rigor and engaging prose, ensuring that the essay is not only intellectually
stimulating but also accessible to a diverse audience.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Great Expectations" requires a multifaceted approach,
blending literary expertise, historical awareness, and analytical prowess. It is a journey into the
Victorian world, a deep dive into character psyches, and an exploration of timeless themes.
While challenging, the process can be immensely rewarding for those who embark on this literary
expedition.

2. Low SES Childhood Development
This topic is very difficult to take stand on. In my opinion it will be very difficult
for me to decide whether to take my child early or late to kindergarten as I will
consider so many factors. The home environment, socio economic status of the
parent, the cognitive and intellectual development of the child. Preschoolers who
have access to rich educational toys and activities do develop very well
intellectually as compared to children from low SES families (Berk Meyers 2016,
page 340). When low SES families are better in managing their children despite all
these constraints their preschoolers tend to do very well (Berk Meyers 2016, page
340). Some parents might have the feeling that the schoolenvironment will be too
chaotic for their
3. My Grandparent Era
In my grandparents era, many people were having hard times with their financial and
social support for the families because they had to deal with an invasion of the Japan
from 1910 through 1945 and they had been experienced the family lost during the
Korean War. Many people survived from the hardships in these situations so that they
could give better environments for the future generations. My grandparents were
meeting each other during the Japanese invasion era during the 1930s because they
did not have choices to listen to their parents in the future. Therefore, my
grandparents got married each other and had many kids in the later. Also, my
grandparents found the partners from the different families in that time so that they
could get married in happy lives. In Korean Society, marriage arrangement between
two families became trends so that they could listen to their parents and have kids to
live in the society. My grandparents and parents era, they were thought that finding
the partner or their children is very important to have a secure familylife. However,
most of the young people are postpone their marriage because they have a hard time
to find jobs to prepare for a marriage.
In the Grandparents era, my grandparents were met from the marriage arrangement
in between two families because they believed that parents had a big role to let their
children to get married and have kids later. Also, most of the people listened to their
parents during that era because they
4. Paradox Of Finding Identity Within Sexual Freedom
Paradox of Finding Identity In Sexual Freedom Humans now have a very different
life compared to the past since freedom, opportunities, and information together are
playing a vital role in this modern society. Especially young people, they become
more independent and are capable of living their lives. However, while society
provides people a lot of benefits, it makes their lives even more complex at the same
time by leaving them pressured and confused about who they really are. In her essay,
Selections from Hard to Get:Twenty Something Women and the Paradox of Sexual
Freedom, Leslie Bell mentions that in this new in between developmental period
American twenty something women have more freedom and opportunities to their
sexual lives than previous generations. But they are struggling with the paradoxes of
their relationships and desires at the same time. Bell suggests that social expectations
and cultural guidelines, which are conventions of female sexuality and stereotypes of
being a good girl, prevent these young women from pursuing their sexual desires and
limiting their relationships with men. However, even these women have chosen the
way they live, and what kind of sexual life they want to be bad girls to break those
old rules, they ended with losing their identities. As a result, establishing a women s
identity rather than clinging to contradictory directives and social expectations
impacts female sexuality more. When these twenty something women try to split
5. Bullying And Its Effect On Children
causing this behavior. Primary school is an especially tough time for our young
ones. If educators are really looking to put an end to bullying, they have to attack it
from the root of the problem (Linder Altman). What a child is wearing will not get
them bullied, it depends on the bully. Making uniforms mandatory in efforts to
decrease bullying, only teaches our children that the only way to be accepted is by
conforming which is not what we should be pushing for. It s important to attack the
problem by the root. A lot of times the bully may be going through something in their
life outside of schoolwhich is causing them to lash out at others. If all the school
systems do to fix bullying is make their students wear uniforms, then what... Show

In School Uniforms and discourses on childhood, Bodine is looking at the change
in apparent behavior of students once they are introduced to uniforms. Erik
Erikson was a German born psychoanalyst who studied the ego, personal and social
identities. He believed that between the ages of six and twelve children acquire
new skills and knowledge which develop a sense of industry (Darwin 15). In this
stage children build on their sense of self worth as well as their confidence. This is
also a very social stage for the child. It is in this stage where self esteem issues may
arise due to feelings of inadequacy. With that being said, we run the risk of our
children feeling like they have to conform in order to be accepted as if they won t be
liked because they rather wear clothing of their own choice.
In School Uniforms and Discourses on Childhood, Behling s drive to look into the
effects uniforms have on children was the fact that everyone has rights, no matter
their age. Her views on how the school systems are just simply masking the problem
rather than trying to solve them are similar to mine. Bodine also uses her past
conversations with students who feel they re stuck in the middle of this whole battle.
One of the children admitted to feeling like a ping pong ball being bounced between
their parents and their school (Behling 423). Studies which survey clothing have
shown that what someone wears is a critical factor of person perception
6. Prussian Military Reforms Essay
Innovation and Evolution:
Prussian Military Reforms of the 19th Century
The concept of war as a static and unchanging occurrence is an outdated and
dangerous miscalculation. More accurately, war is a fluidic, evolving and shifting
phenomenon constantly reinventing itself, rendering stagnant, inflexible principles
potentially disastrous. Consequently, as students of war and future players in this
transforming theatre, the study of eras of significant development is an extremely
relevant pursuit. Recognizing the need for adaptation and the creation of doctrine is
now a prerequisite for any effective modern commander. War is unpredictable in
nature and particularly so in current theatres of operation, in which change is rapid ...

These developments influenced most of the powerful nations of Europe and were
soon repeated in similar forms around the world. Furthermore, many of the Prussian
enhancements in army doctrine are the foundation of the command structures of
many modern militaries today.
Although his armies enjoyed unprecedented successes and expanded the French
Empire from Spain to the steppes of Russia, the Napoleonic way of war was fraught
with deficiencies. Due to the Napoleon s genius and mastery of this period of military
manoeuvres, he was able to forestall the affects of the inherent limitations of his
system until the war of the Sixth Coalition (1813) and eventually the fateful battle
of Waterloo (1815). One the most significant, intrinsic flaws in Napoleon s system
was related to issues of command. During the beginnings of Napoleon s career, he
commanded armies of sizes up to 60 000 troops. In Italy in 1796, he commanded a
force of just 38 000. With the increasing sizes of forces in the later empire, due to
concepts such as levee en masse and recruitment legislation of 1792, the inability of
a single commander to control such vast forces was becoming apparent. The sheer
immensity of the forces now mustered was unprecedented. In 1812 the Grande
Armee, consisted of a staggering 611 000 soldiers. Much to the hindrance of the later
empire, few, if any officers in the Grande Armee, besides Napoleon himself, could
command forces
7. Callaway Golf Essay
THE MARKET
More than two decades ago, Ely Callaway set out to build a company that would
bring more enjoyment and game improvement to golfers of all skill levels. He
accomplished much of that goal in 1991, introducing a technological wonder called
the Big Bertha Driver. By creating in Big Bertha a larger clubhead without adding
weight, the late founder of Callaway Golf Company turned the most feared club into
the most loved almost overnight. The driver became the fastest selling club at retail.
Many innovations have followed. From woods, irons, and putters to golf balls and
golf accessories, Callaway Golf has consistently used ingenuity, quality construction,
and technology to make the finest premium products in the industry.

In fact, Callaway Golf products are among the most popular on the world s
professional tours and have been used to set several scoring records and win
hundreds of tournaments. This success helped Callaway Golf become the world s
largest manufacturer of golf clubs within five years of the Big Bertha Driver s
launch, prompting major changes within the golf industry. Callaway Golf s success
enabled it to become the first major golf company to go public, as shares of
company stock began trading on the NewYork Stock Exchange in 1992, under the
ELY ticker symbol.
HISTORY
Callaway Golf s success story begins with a small three person golf company called
Hickory Stick USA, which was founded in 1982 in Temecula, California. The
company initially made wedges and putters that had unique shafts constructed of
hickory with a steel core. These clubs caught the eye of Ely Callaway, who bought
an interest in the company the following year. Mr. Callaway had already been a
successful businessman in the fields of textiles and wine, and golf would become the
third and most successful act in his entrepreneurial career. His business philosophy

8. The First Impression Of A Raisin In The Sun
My first impression of A Raisin In the Sun was that it was bland and uninteresting.
The first scene in the story consisted of a woman waking up her son and husband
and feeding them breakfast. This scene was uninteresting to me because there was no
conflict. Another reason why the scene was not engaging was because it was typical
for any family. Therefore, I found the beginning of A Raisin In the Sunto be dull
because it was a scene with no conflict and it was a typical family scene.
Similar to many plays, A Raisin In the Sunis told through a third person narrative
while still providing facial expressions and actions that are usually not told in a
book. Mama is the oldest of the family and has a close relation to God. Ruth
appears to be the lady that keeps the family in check. Walter is a very ambitious
man. Beneatha is a strong woman who can stand up for herself and will defend her
beliefs. Travis is a young boy (around 8 years old) who is still naive and witnesses
all these problems. Mrs.Hansberry uses side notes in the script to show emotion
which would obviously be shown through the actor on stage. Many of my friends
say that they hated Walter as a character. Admittedly, Walter was very rude and
blinded by money. However, I felt that I could relate to him in the sense that he had
a dream and a goal that he would not stop until he achieved. He was still reckless
due to his ambition, which could lead to some bad decisions. For example, when
Walter was suppose to

Finding information about the Haberman Star Teacher Prescreener has been an
interesting journey. Due to technical difficulties at the Haberman Educational
Foundation securing a copy of the questionnaire took repeated phone calls and
internet attempts. This, however, allowed me to develop a relationship with Delia
Strafford, President CEO of the Haberman Educational Foundation(HEF) and strong
proponent of the Haberman Star Teacher Prescreener (HSTP). Working with Delia I
was able to secure a demonstration copy of the HSTP to use.
HSTP is an online questionnaire that is designed to look at a teacher s core beliefs

Dimensions Assessed
Persistence predicts the propensity to work with children who present learning and
behavioral problems on a daily basis without giving up on them for the full 180 day
work year.
Organization and Planning refers to how and why star teachers plan as well as their
ability to manage complex classroom organizations.
Values student learning predicts the degree to which the responses reflect a
willingness to make student learning the teacher s highest priority.
Theory to Practice predicts the respondent s ability to see the practical implications
of generalizations as well as the concepts reflected by specific practices.
At Risk Students predicts the likelihood that the respondent will be able to connect

12. Independence During The War For Independence
Independence in Mexico changed the dynamic of life inside the country. It brought
about social and economic issue that seemingly found a way to intertwine themselves.
In Mexico, the decline in stability led to corruption throughout the country that
created not just banditry, but massive widespread banditry. Bandits and the police
aspired too many roles in Mexicobefore and after the war on independence. These
roles by both bandits and the police were backed by motivations that changed over
time but some that stayed the same. The changes that happen were led by the
reformation of a rural police force in Mexico and also the rise/reign of Porfirio
Diaz that brought about supporters with a long rule. The bandits and police had
many roles in Mexican society after the War for Independence. The bandit s roles
are somewhat unique because bandits took on my characters in Mexican society.
Bandits were made up of mostly peasants, but it comprised of temporary bandits
from all parts of society that included; unemployed workers, drought farmers,
aspiring businessman, robbers, villagers, and prisoners. When bandits took over
regionally in 1857, they took the role of regulating commerce on the highways
with the raiding of railroad cars and stagecoaches to pillage valuables from
travelers and also goods being imported and exported to Mexico. The role that drove
most bandits was to change to a liberal Mexico into a more conservative one. The
main reason for controlling highways was to
13. Education Reform For The United States
Education in America started with the Pilgrims in the early 1600 s. The first public
school was opened in 1635 in Boston Massachusetts. In 1642, Massachusetts started
an education reform that stated Any child not properly educated would apprentice
to a trade . This education reform was created because they believed it was
important for children and citizens to be able to read the laws of the land. This was
the first law that required children to be education. If they were not properly educated
they would be moved from their home to a better fit environment where they would
be able to learn. Virginia then followed with a similar law in 1646. In 1647
Massachusetts founded an act called Old Deluder Satan Act . This act required
towns of more than fifty families to hire a teacher for reading and writing. Towns of
more than a hundred families had to establish a grammar schoolwhich served as
college preparation. Dame schools taught reading and writing to females because this
was all they were expected to learn so that they would not have the same intellect as
men. Their classes were held in the teacher s kitchen who continued her chores while
the students did their lessons. At the beginning of the 20th century, parents and public
schools began demanding more practical and useful curriculums. Growing up with
my mom as a teacher I know how much time they spend working and helping their
students learn and achieve so many things and how little they receive back in
14. Religion Acts As A Central Point For Many People
Religion acts as a central point for many people, in which they can relate to each
other in different ways that nobody else can. People who share the same/ similar
religious beliefs often feel closer to one and other, in a way that otherwise couldn t
be expressed. The connection that comes about in these religious communities
allows these given to form a closer connection and form a larger congregation. In
some cases, the individuals in these kinds of communities are very strict about their
traditions, behaviors, actions, and in some extreme cases they do not accept any
other way of life. There are plenty of religious communities that are down to earth
and open to the outside world, they accept challenges to their beliefs because they
believe that challenges make their religionstronger and tighter nit. No matter what the
circumstance these types of communities have an encouraging amount of strength,
and typical only crumble/ fall apart from within. If someone from the religious group
starts to question the core values and beliefs of their community, they typical turn
against the given individual. We see this represented in My Name is Asher Lev,
written by Christian Potok, in which he explores the life of a Hasidic Jew. When one
person starts to question within the community, the entire community gets affected.
For the better of the community, this individual should be diminished from the
community as a whole because it is tearing it apart from the inside out. This may

1B. In the real world, a perfectly competitive market rarely exists. One or more
assumptions are violated in most markets and this is certainly the case in the
pharmaceutical market. * Monopoly Power. Pharmacists often face questions from
patients regarding how prices of medications are determined and why, in some cases,
they are so expensive. Unlike markets for other goods, in the pharmaceutical
marketplace there are a limited number of manufacturers and the medication being
sold are not identical, but rather are differentiated. There is a guarantee via patent
protection that no potential competitor may manufacture an identical drug and sell it
at a lower price in the short run. As a result, the branded manufacturer is able to
make profits. Since there is only one seller, the monopolist determines the price of
the medicine. This establishes the monopolist as a price setter, permitting prices
above the perfectly competitive price by controlling the quantity of medication
produced in the marketplace. This is in stark contrast to being a price taker, and
accepting a price established within a perfectly competitive marketplace. The end
result is that prices are higher under these market conditions than they would be in a
purely competitive marketplace. * Barriers to Entry. A number of factors allow a
pharmaceutical manufacturer to act as a

Most of them explain the existence of things. The myth about Pan and Syrinx

20. The Legacy Of South Korea
Have you ever visited a different country, or a city even, and been completely
bewildered? Have you had a specific image in your head of how a certain culture
lives and acts? A country can be judge and defined by its modern culture and most
tend to do just that, but its past is where its real truth lies. To fully understand and
know any country, one must travel deeper and discover its true roots.
In the majority of countries, the historical events greatly contribute to how the culture
evolved into the present day, and how its people grew through the years, into what
has become known as the society of today. South Korea is no stranger to this and they
continue to preserve its historic landmarks with pride. Although most of South Korea
s history is clouded by conflict, the struggles the people have endured have only
united them as one, and has helped shape the country into a great nation which the
citizens are proud of. The citizens of South Korea have seen their country beaten,
conquered, divided, and still refused to let out the cry of defeat and abandon their
homeland.
Having various ways to travel around the country, no other means of transportation is
as common as the train system. There are designated seats for the elderly, pregnant

21. Oedipus the King
The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle once identified the key ingredients of the
tragedies that his culture is so famous for. These ingredients include a character
with a fatal flaw, the realization of the fault for a particular problem and the final
sudden reversal of fortune. For many tragedies, the fatal flaw is demonstrated as
excessive pride, which usually serves as the driving force of the play s action. It is
common, even beneficial, to have pride in oneself, but when it becomes expressed
as arrogance or in defiance of one s fate, it is considered excessive and often leads
men to engage in activities that will lead to their downfall. Aristotle (1998) stated the
tragic hero falls into bad fortune because of some flaw in his... Show more content on

In the process of trying to avoid fate, he has committed some of the greatest sins
imaginable to him defiled his mother s bed, murdered his father and spawned
monstrous children born of incest. Rather than face the truth and unable to take the
severe wound to his pride, Oedipus stabbed out his eyes with broaches and walked
away from Thebes forever, thereby sealing his doom through further prideful actions.
The sudden reversal of fortune has Oedipus walking away from Thebes a blind,
homeless beggar rather than the respected king he should have been based upon his
more noble qualities. While this is a surprise, it is nevertheless a logical possible
conclusion to the events that have taken place. This concept is brought out to greater
extent in the film through the change in setting. Pasolini begins and ends the film in
a contemporary setting to when the film was made. While the play suggests that
Oedipus went wandering into the desert a self blinded beggar man, the film indicates
that he has been wandering a tortured individual for much longer than a normal
lifespan.
Thus, the elements of classic tragedy are carried throughout both play and film to
slightly different interpretations. In both, a fatal flaw within the character of Oedipus
drives his actions that eventually seal his own doom. Seen as it is throughout the
various elements of the classic tragedian format of first

Before They Were Blue
In 1987, Chris, Phil and Matt found themselves in their mid 20s, sharing an apartment
in New
York City, each quite different but all in search of a creative outlet. Matt had once
read that life was a succession of hitting plateaus right when you needed to meet a
person or form a relationship to move to the next level. That was our experience, he
said. Phil was the relative newcomer to the group;
Matt and Chris had a history that extended back to high school.
Matt was born into a fourth generation New York City family, his mother a writer
and teacher, and his father a documentary film maker. He attended public elementary
school, which he described as a big institution with no soul, 6 and then the Fieldston
High School, a private institution. He recalled his high school years:
I was lucky to get into Fieldston at all. My test scores were so so; I later found out I
was borderline dyslexic. But the application

24. Healthcare Reform From The Nurse Practitioner
Perspective...
Healthcare Reform
Healthcare reform has been debated throughout history, and continues to be a debate
today. An initial healthcare plan was supported by Theodore Roosevelt in 1910. He
campaigned on the promise of national healthcare, but he was defeated. Harry
Truman proposed it thirty years later but the plan was vigorously opposed by
American Medical Association (AMA) as socialized medicine (Palmer, 2010). As a
Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) who has been practicing for more than a year, an
advanced nurse with a Master of Science in Administration for ten years, a military
nurse leader for twenty years, and a home health and ICU nurse for more than twenty
five years, I agree that we need to rethink the direction of healthcare. Without ... Show

of the fastest growing health care professions with more than 135,000 NPs
presently practicing in the United States, as opposed to increased from 125,000
NPs in 2008 (Martin, 2011). The Doctoral of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs
positions NPs as leaders and advocates in policy development (National
Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF), 2005). The NONPF
emphasizes entry level competencies for DNP graduates are influencing health care
policy and evaluating health care policy globally. In fact, exploring other nations
health system problems and solutions may provide alternatives in managing local,
state, and national healthcare needs. Many health system solutions start by getting
involved with our local and state legislators. This area is one, which is an area I am
exploring as I transition from FNP to a potential DNP student.
NPs play a critical part and fulfill an essential role in health care. According to
AANP data, 9 percent of NPs specialize in pediatrics, while another 9 percent focus
in women health. However, only 5 percent of NPs practice acute care while 10
percent of NPs provide care for the elderly, infants and psychiatric patients.
Historically, Nurse Practitioners have provided primary care in rural areas when no
other providers were available. In the 1960s, Loretta Ford,

Bonuses under the stretch method are based on annual performances, but payments
are made every quarter. And each quarterly bonus payment is only at 80% actual in
order to save management from paying out bonuses that may not be actual.
Opponents to this budgeting technique cited that targets were too optimistic, and that
rewards were based on complex and subjective measures. And because managers
could still receive a small bonus at 60% of budget, bad habits started to form.
In late 1986, HCC CEO Andy Goldfarb met with divisional managers and
announced a new budgeting philosophy. The Minimum Performance Standard
(MPS) was created to let divisional managers set their budgeting goals at a level
they felt was 100% attainable. However, Goldfarb asked each manager to set their
targets at levels above what they were currently producing at. The MPS plan was
accompanied with a change in incentive plan, in whereby a pool was created that
paid 20% of the amount exceeded actual over budgeted PBT (profit before taxes).
In addition, 25% of the amount they exceeded the target would be added to the
bonus. This allowed managers to see exactly where their bonuses were coming
from. If their shipments were at 98% of the budgeted, they would receive close to
100% of the bonus pool set aside for that particular measure. If a manager met only 4
or 5 measurements, then his/her bonus collection would be directly in proportion to
that. However, COO Al Berger

and had convinced his parents to stay for a few days before they returned to Ohio.
Karolina and her family exhausted and famished from their long ocean voyage were
only too happy to indulge the boy while they gained their strength resting in the hotel.
Karolina, her family, and her cousin s family toured the city in a carriage rented by
their cousin after several days of rest. They traveled to the grounds of the Exposition
of the Industry of all Nations , scheduled to open in New York City later that summer
of 1853. Her cousin pointed out to them the Latting tower under construction next to
the magnificent glass and iron building named the New York Crystal Palace,
modeled after the Crystal Palace built in London two years before.
The New York Crystal Palace included a dome and three entrance halls projecting

27. Paradoxic Realism In Jacques Demy s The Umbrellas Of...
The paradoxic realism that defines Jacques Demy s film The Umbrellas of
Cherbourg is evident even in the title sequence. Pastel umbrellas dance over the
cold gray sidewalk, falling in and out of perfect symmetry. People walk to work, to
school, no doubt grumbling that they are caught in the rain. Life goes on, but a
mundanity of life suddenly becomes worthy of Michael Legrand s sweeping
orchestrations. In contrast, Hollywood musicals made it their job, their purpose to
make people forget that the rain was there at all; to provide an idealistic escape from
a harsh, weary world. Eventually, these addictive fantasy worlds and conventional
narratives about loveand the human experience became uninteresting war,
counterculture, and a growing desire for revolutionary art turned audiences away
from such fuzzy comforts and towards radical cinema. The genre needed
something new to shock it back to life, and this shock came in striking form with
The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. By subverting classical Hollywood conventions by
way of an unresolved ending, sung through musical style, and taboo subject matter,
Demy s The Umbrellas of Cherbourg provided an escape from the never ending
formulaic cycle of musical films threatening to bulldoze the genre into delirious self
obsession, giving life to the form of musicals and restoring them to what they have
always had the capacity to do: reveal the most vulnerable, intimate truths of what it is
to be a human being, to fall in love, and to fall out

thickness measured by optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a reliable early
marker of glaucoma[1,2]. As the pathogenesis of glaucoma involves the
degeneration of axons as well as cell bodies and dendrites, The primary site of
axonal damage in glaucoma is thought to be the lamina cribrosa , based on findings
from previous studies [3 5] ,which thought to be via several mechanisms, including
mechanical damage, [6]compromised vascular supply, [7] and increased translaminar

deformations due to the IOP changes are transmitted to the optic nervehead (ONH).
ONH cupping in glaucoma is thought to be a combination of the two components
prelaminar and laminar cupping [9]. Clinically, glaucomatous optic nerve damage is
diagnosed by the deepening and extension of the optic cup ,with dimension of the
neuro retinal rim [10]. The anterior and posterior surface of the LC is well visualized

Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is about the life of the a young girl, Scout Finch.
As the story goes along, Scout becomes more and more mature from the beginning to

everything, which continues to increase her maturity. The theme of maturity in To

great friends with him throughout the story. Another incident at the beginning of
To Kill a Mockingbird is when she has Walter over for dinner and she criticizes him
and does not comprehend how he is unique and that he lives in poverty, but she is
too young to understand and speaks her mind. Calpurnia then takes Scout into the
kitchen and teaches her about manners and to be mature especially around guests.
She then understands and goes back to dinner, but no longer worried about the
things Walter is doing that she does not enjoy. Scout later says in the story, В‘No,

be, he just gets held back sometimes because he has to stay out and help his daddy.

33. Pissarro
By 1880 the Impressionist idiom had been fully developed and Pissarro, in his
constant quest for new forms of discipline and inspiration, turned his attention to
drawing. The present work is an iconic example from the artist s most prolific
decade of graphic output; from 1880 to 1890 he would produce nearly three quarters
of his graphic oeuvre, using his drawings as a tool to explore form and line while
incorporating Neo Impressionist techniques into his painted work.
Les Glaneuses (The Gleaners) is a compendium of Pissarro s treatment of pastoral
life, relating directly to the seminal painting of the same name (1887 1889). While
the painted work is Neo Impressionist in its treatment of tone, its texture is made up
of a discrete series of dots, dashes and commas, anticipating that Pissarro would soon
abandon the common aesthetic doctrine outlined by Seurat and Signac (see fig. 1). ...

Pissarro was so enamored of the gleaners as a subject that from 1887 1889 he
created eight known studies in various states of completion as he visually meditated
on the composition: hurried croquis sketches produced en plein air, preparatory
studies, and, in the case of the present work, fully realized presentation drawings
executed in a combination of media. According to Richard Thomson, the present

35. Treasury Bonds And The National Debt
Daniel Hysinger
US Treasury Bonds and the National Debt
The U.S. Treasury bond is a low interest way for the government to borrow money.
The bond, along with Treasury notes and bills, form the Securities which the Federal
government borrows from lenders for a set amount of time. Issued by the
Department of the Public Debt, a subset of the US Treasury, they are usually issued
in 30 year maturities which pay interest twice yearly. Because the debt obligation is
backed by the tax generating, money printing, and understandably trusted government
of the United States, bonds are generally considered to be a safe or virtually no risk
investment. Thanks to this low risk attribute however, bonds are regarded as very
low yield security, which is exactly why it is a good instrument for the United States
government to employ, as long as it can turn a relatively decent profit on the initial
investment. According to the September 30th, 2014 report of Monthly Statement of
the Public Debt of the United States, the amount of Treasury Bonds outstanding
totaled $8,167,759 million, I ll call it roughly $8.2 trillion. This number composes the
majority of the combined $12.7 trillion of US Treasury securities outstanding. These
securities outstanding are also known as the national debt. The numbers listed above,
and throughout this paper will disregard debt being owed to intra governmental
holdings of the US, as bonds make up a minuscule (in comparison, only $7.6 million)

37. The Greatest Day Of My Life
Everyone needs some form of escape from reality. While this varies from person to
person, with the entertainment business booming, it is safe to infer that many
find their comfort with movie theatres. Many of these people like to be engulfed
by the story of their movie. My escape, however, comes from just being inside the
theatre. There is something magical about theatres that keeps bringing me back.
The first time I vividly remember going to the movies was when the second Harry
Potter movie released. I finally watched the first movie on our brand new DVD
player and read the four books that had been released. When the Saturday came to
go to the Edwards in Irvine, I woke up extra early to make terrible pancakes for
everybody (this is also a time when I wanted to be a chef). I begged my parents to
take to me to the nearby 7 11 to buy all the candy that we were going to sneak in the
theatre. I knew that this was going to be the greatest day of my life. While I know
now my parents were reluctant to spend all that money, I know that today they
would not change a thing. Going to the movies in the early 2000 s for my family
meant more than just watching a movie. With my mother working two jobs and
my father deploying every other year to different parts of the world as a Marine,
these Saturdays were a very rare occasion. Not only do I get to watch a movie, I get
to spend a whole day with my family hopping from movie to movie. There were no
fights, no problems, and no worries.
38. The Black Death Of The Middle Ages
As the middle ages came to a close, political theologians set forth a series of political
ideologies that would help shape modern day democracy. The Black Death greatly
affected the beliefs of the power in Catholic Church. With seemingly randomly mass
death of the young and old, the peasant class began to revolt. While unrest occurred
throughout Western Europe events like the conciliar movement called into question
the emerging conceptions of limitations on rulers power. Theologian including John
Wycliffe, William of Ockham, and Christine de Pizan all captured the number
political ideas of the time. The events that defined this period in history helped shape
what we have come to know and trust in our government.
During the time the Black Death swept Western Europe, questions of who s
authority was supreme to the land arouse. Disaffection with the church, or the
thought that it might be not be true or the only way to salvation, spread in all ranks
of society. It was not only kings who disputed the claims of the clergy. Obscure
parish priests, close to the distress of ordinary people, began to doubt the power of
their ecclesiastical superiors (p. 47 of Disasters of the Fourteenth Century Handout).
Theologians across Europe set forth ideals for a church to hold councils to in order
to constitute the ideals of the entire Christian population. John of Paris in his (On
Royal and Papal Power) agreed that a general council could depose the pope on the
grounds that it

Live with your head in the lion s mouth. I want you to overcome em with yeses,
undermine em with grins, agree em to death and destruction, let em swoller you
till they vomit or bust wide open Ellison 1). The narrator s grandfather tries to tell
him to conform and live a life subservient to whites. He wants him to agree with
them and try to be like them to win them over. The narrator calls the words his
grandfather shared with him on his death bed his, grandfather s curse (Ellison 2).
His grandfather s words acted as blindfold to keep him from seeing the injustice in
the way he is treated because his focus becomes doing and saying whatever pleases
the whites making him a traitor as his grandfather calls it (Ellison
42. Premier League Essay
For the six clubs in England, finishing top four in the Premier League is the same as
surviving relegation.
Without Champions League football, clubs suddenly panic as there is the likely hood
of having to sell off their stars, falling behind to compete in the transfer window, and
losing out on financial resources.
This past season, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Liverpool managed to
get across the finish line somewhere in the top four. For them, Champions League
football is looming on the horizon and have nothing to worry about just yet. And
somehow joining them, will be Jose Mourinho s Manchester United, who finished
sixth in the Premier League, but beat Ajax in the Europa League final to qualify.

Tottenham are heading into the summer with more questions than answers,
excitement, and nerves. Their 2016 17 campaign was successful to a degree. They
finally finished above arch rival Arsenal for the first time in 22 years. They said
goodbye to White Heart Lane and replacing it with a revolutionary football stadium.
Best of all they finished second and are going to play Champions League football
yet again. But they did crash out of the Champions League in a very winable group
and have no silverware to show for their brilliant effort this past season.
Three questions to ask:
Can Tottenham hold on to their best players especially from their defense and
midfield?
How much cash are they willing to spend and for who needs in the attack?
Are they ready to take the leap to becoming European Elites doing better in the
Champions League?
As uncertainity swirls around the club going forward, they are a great position to be
more than noisy neighbors to Chelsea and Arsenal.
Manchester City are heading into summer with things to sort out. The super rich club
clearly under performed by finishing third in the Premier League, surrendering a two
goal advantage in the Champions League round of 16 against Monaco, and losing to
Arsenal in the semifinals of the FA Cup. Pep Guardiola has work to do as they club
expects excellence and results. With Champions League football looming and
bookies making one of the favorites to lift the Premier League come next May,

43. Insecurity In Vermont
The food insecurity in Vermont is astonishing. It is even more sad knowing that it
is still increasing as well. The percentage of food insecure Vermont households
increased from an average of 9.1% (22,000 households) from 1999 to 2001 to an
average of 13.2% (34,000 households) from 2011 to 2013.†I knew there was an
issue with foodinsecurity all around the world but I did not expect it to be this high
in such a small state like, Vermont. The overall percentage of food insecurity
throughout all fifty states is a whopping 12.7%. Although it did decrease from 14%
in 2014, it is still above the pre recession rates.
