Mitostop Body
Mitostop is said to be effective in slowing the growth of malignant brain tumours. Although this
experimental drug is effective in slowing down the growth process of the tumour, Mitostop causes
Arteriovenous Anastomoses (AVA s) that over time can affect the normal functioning of the body and
its organs. The drug Mitostop increases the occurrence of AVA s within the body by 1000 times. Blood
moves throughout the body within a closed system, any interruption to the normal blood flow within
the body will cause an effect to the liver and kidney organs. This essay discusses the likely effects of
Mitostop on the specific functioning of the Kidneys and Liver. KIDNEY S The kidneys are essential
organs in the body that are involved in the regulation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The liver is important in maintaining normal glucose levels. When glucose levels are low the liver
breaks down glycogen to glucose and releases it into the bloodstream (Jenkins Tortora, 2013). The
liver also acts as a storage component for glycogen and triglycerides. If this function were impaired
due to a lack of blood flow through the liver cells due to the formation of AVA s homeostasis would
not be maintained within our bodies creating an imbalance. The delivery of glucose to the blood steam
would not be successful creating many problems within our bodies. I believe cells will die as glucose
is an energy source for a lot of cells within our body and organs will be damaged (Marieb Hoehn,

Allotment In The 1800s
Passed in 1887, the General Allotment Act, or the Dawes Act, allotted, or parceled, portions of Native
American reservations into individual and family hands. The authority of allotment was granted to the
President of the United States. Individuals received either 80 or 160 acre plots, and in some instances
families received higher acreages. Each allotment was to be held in trust by the federal government for
a period of 25 years, which meant during that time period Indian peoples would not be subjected to
federal tax on their property. Native Americans were not allowed to immediately sell their land. The
Burke Act, passed in 1906 (inside of the 25 year window), revoked the stipulation that Indians could
not sell their land. Those who were

Picture Brides Research Paper
I wouldn t want to meet my soulmate through picture brides because it s unconventional and insincere.
It doesn t take a rocket scientist to see that both parties thought they were benefiting their own
interests going into a picture bride marriage. I admit that there was a lot of deception involved,
however that didn t change the fact that going through with their marriage was arrange on the
circumstances of their self interests. For the brides, some would be from poor families and needed
money. Obviously what they found in America wasn t what they expected. But they never loved the
American on the other side, but they found the opportunity too hard to pass. They needed to make
money to support their family. On the other side, most of the men were poor farmers that highly likely
weren t going to find true love, so they decided to create some of it. ... Show more content on

It s easy to deceive and talk to someone when not face to face. Instead, they can lie about everything,
and it s be fine because the bride would never know until she got off the boat. Also, the most of the
women had too much honor and pride, so they went with the marriage. Many felt they would dishonor
their family, if they went back to Japan. The main part that doesn t appeal to me is the whole idea of
just sending a bunch of pictures and letters across the pacific ocean. Unless you meet them in person,
for all you know, they could be a serial killer or very poor. These picture brides were clearly taken
advantage of because of their desperation for either freedom or money. I just bothers me that they didn
t know this was going to happen. I know there were probably a few of honest men that were trying to
trick Japanese women into becoming their wives, but it s just distinguishing that men would go
through all that trouble of using younger pictures of themselves and thinking of lies in order to
persuade the women to come to

Research Paper: Intel, Monopolies, and Corruption
Throughout the last 50 or so years, tech companies have risen and fall, gaining fame and power, and
marking their names in history book for achieving momentous tasks, often in which can still be seen
today. Intel is not an exception to this trend; in fact, the mega corporation is a prime example of what
American tech giants look like: Intel has their hand in essentially every market dealing with computer
components, from memory and memory controllers, to accelerators, to their main attraction, Central
Processing Units, or CPU s, for Desktops, Laptops, and Servers. Not only does Intel have vast reach in
the computer component market, but they have complete control of not only their production process,
being for the most part self contained. From mining necessary resources, to shipping out their
complete products from factories to their recipients, whether that be a store or an OEM. Intel is truly
one of the most successful, if not the most successful Tech giant involved with Computer hardware.
However, they only got to this place through nefarious actions, such as breaking contracts, playing the
courts to their advantage, throwing their weight around, regardless of the legality of it, to meet their
bottom lines. Considering that Intel is at such a high position, and has pretty much always existed at a
fairly high position in the market, why? This paper will set out to find out the

Similarities Between Gulf And The Gilgamesh Flood
The Epic of Gilgamesh has been important to Christians as far back as its revelation in the mid
nineteenth century in the vestiges of the library at Nineveh, with its record of a general flood with
critical parallels to the flood in the Book of Genesis. There have been various flood stories
distinguished from antiquated sources scattered around the world. The stories that were found on
cuneiform tablets, which involve a portion of the most punctual surviving written work, and have clear
similitudes. The cuneiform style of writing was developed by the Sumerians and carried on by the
Akkadians. The Epic of Gilgamesh was contained on twelve extensive tablets, and since the first
discovery, it has been found on others and additionally having been converted into other early
languages. There are numerous similarities between the Gilgamesh flood account and the scriptural
flood account starting above all with God picking an honest man to assemble an ark as a result of a
looming incredible flood. In the two records, tests from all types of creatures were to be on the ark,
and birds were utilized after the downpours to decide whether flood waters had died down anyplace to
uncover dry land. There are different similitudes between the Gilgamesh flood account and the
scriptural flood account. The similarities between the flood account in both Genesis and Gilgamesh
continued with its location. Since these societies existed in Mesopotamia, it isn t out of the norm for
those two to share

The Kkk And The Klux Klan
There was a time when the Ku Klux Klan took over the Republican Party and dominated Colorado
politics. In the 1920s, from Maine to California, in the cities and in rural communities, large numbers
of men and women joined the KKK (Fleming). The KKK was and still are part of the Colorado
history, for one could still find the Klan in Colorado, for the KKK ran the state Colorado from1924 to
1932 until it was disempowered by Franklin Delano Roosevelt.. After the election of 1924, the
governor Clarence Morley the mayor of Denver, Benjamin Stapleton, and U.S. Senator Rice Means
were all Klansmen. Also, the state s House of Representatives for the most part were ran by the Klan.
The KKK marched and burned crosses in small towns throughout the state, from Great Plains through
the mountains to the Western Slope. As Denver, Pueblo, Grand Junction, Canon City and other towns
and cities surrendered to the Klan, only one major city escaped: Colorado Springs.
Six Confederate veterans from Pulaski, Tennessee created the original Ku Klux Klan on December 24,
1865, during the Reconstruction of the South after the Civil War. The KKK stretched into almost
every southern state by 1870 and became a mouthpiece for white southern resistance to the
Republican Party s Reconstruction era policies designed to create political and economic equality for
blacks. The members conducted a campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and black
Republican leaders. Though Congress passed legislation

What Are The Actions Of Lieutenant Jimmy Cross
Although there are many things that are unknown about Lieutenant Jimmy cross. Readers do know
that Lieutenant cross is a complexed man with complicated feeling about love and war. For an
example, Lieutenant Jimmy cross uses the love that he has for Martha as an escape from the war.
Lieutenant Jimmy Cross sacrifices Lavender s life due to the fact that he was madly in love with
Martha and was blinded. Lieutenant Jimmy cross came to reality about his actions after he lost his
friend during the war because of his negligence. The actions of Lieutenant Jimmy cross show that he
has lost reality because of love and war these became the burdens that he carried.
Babková Durdiaková states that secondary love is obsessive behavior also known as mania. (Babková
Durdiaková 695 703). Readers will agree that Lieutenant Jimmy cross was obsessed with Martha
because of the thing he said and does. For an example, He would imagine romantic camping trips into
the White Mountains in New Hampshire. He would sometimes taste the envelope flaps, knowing her
tongue had been there. (par.1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Cross burned Martha pictures and letters he was hoping for it to provide him some emotional
relief but it didn t. Readers can tell from reading this story that cross has a love hate relationship with
Martha. However, the hate didn t grow until his lost Lavender. He loves her because he wanted to
build a special connection with her. Yet, he hates her because to readers he only wonders if Martha is a
virgin. Towards the end of the story, Cross starts to be honest with him. Cross states, Henceforth when
he thought about Martha, it would be only to think that she belongs elsewhere. He would shut down
the daydreams. This was not Mount Sebastian, it was another world, where there were no pretty
poems or midterm exams, a place where men died because of carelessness and gross

Andrew Jackson Essay
Jackson was a protector of democracy for quot;Equal protection and equal benefits quot; for all men.
He wanted to be rid of any organization or institution promoting specific privilege to anyone.
Jackson felt that over time, the offices of the federal system had grown mold to a uniform party. He
proceeded to seek diversity amongst officers, and while he removed no more officials than Jefferson,
he succeeded in diversifying the system.
Since he believed that the power belonged to the people, Jackson instituted a new method for selecting
presidential candidates. While previously there was held a Congressional Caucus, Jackson initiated a
national nominating convention in order that the people might elect their candidates.

In the South, many people wanted to allow the Indians that were civilized, like the Cherokee, to
remain on their land. The eventual result was the passage of the Removal Act, which provided the
necessary funds for the relocation of Indians to the West.
The Cherokee then found favor in their appeal to the Supreme Court (Marshall and Jackson were long
time foes), however, Marshall didn t enforce the ruling, and the Cherokee were eventually dissolved
due to Jackson s hatred. Some escaped to North Carolina, others took money to leave, and the
remaining majority of all were forced from their homes [at bayonet point] to make a long quot;trek of
tears quot; to their new homes, west of the Mississippi.
The Seminoles, however, were partially stubborn. Some left for relocation, while others joined
escaped slaves to rise against the government. While unsuccessful, we never managed to totally
relocate them.
Jackson dismantles the Federal bank
Seeing that the National Bank was a monopoly, Jackson set out to destroy it.
Jackson was successful enough in winning people to his side of the issue that he forced the bank s
president, Biddle, to take measure. Biddle responded by winning over some of Jackson s followers
along with certain influential people.
Biddle applied for renewal of the charter for the bank four years early, and it passed Congress but was
of course vetoed and deemed by Jackson to be quot;unconstitutional. quot;
Congress was unable to override the veto, and so the

Classical Conditioning And Observational Learning
Classical conditioning, operant conditioning, as well as observational learning don t only hold their
influence in the field of psychology but can also affect the experiences in one s life. These three
concepts/theories are able to leave an impact through the duration of an individual s development and
life. Classical conditioning, operant conditioning and observational learning have been able to play a
pivotal role through my initial fear then eventual confidence with public speaking.
Classical conditioning is the learning process that occurs when two stimuli are repeatedly paired . A
stimulus is what causes a reaction to be initiated. This can be applicable to many situations, an
example being in training a dog. An individual could place a bowl of food ... Show more content on

Once the food is taken away and replaced with a ringing of a bell (neutral stimulus), the dog will no
longer salivate. The neutral stimulus is a stimulus that at first doesn t produce a significant response
but will eventually become a conditioned stimulus, especially in classical conditioning. Then when the
bell rings and is presented along with a bowl of food the dog will respond by salivating. Now, the
individual will only have to ring the bell (without the bowl of food present) in order for the dog to
respond by salivating, this in turn being the conditioned response. This type of learning process was
used in similar way when I had to present in front of the class. I knew I would have to eventually
present my final project in front of my class. Knowing this caused me to be quite nervous, causing my
heart to pound and my forehead to sweat. The knowledge of having to present

Application For Peer Application Sharing Using Bittorrent...
ABSTRACT
The unique attributes of certain applications lend themselves amicable to the peer computing model.
Peer computing applications make efficient use of computing resources around the edge of the
network. The efficiency of peer computing networks is enhanced by the availability of higher
distributed storage capacity and computational cycles. Certain applications take advantage of direct
connection between peer devices, thereby improving the efficiency of the communication link. In this
paper, the working of the BitTorrent protocol is discussed, along with the improved efficiency in
certain kinds of applications. This paper further talks about the usage of BirTorrent protocol over local
area network (LAN).
1.Intoduction
Peer to peer file sharing using BitTorrent protocol:
1.1 Problem Definition: A peer to peer computer network uses diverse connectivity between the
different participants of the network. In a conventional network where centralized resources are used,
operations such as file sharing, telephony etc., are not performed efficiently. On the other hand, a peer
to peer network uses the cumulative bandwidth of the different participants, thereby improving the
overall efficiency of the network. The deep dive is focused upon the file sharing aspect of the peer to
peer networks. Fig 1.1 An example of peer to peer file sharing

Theme Of Punishment By Seamus Heaney
As is evident in several of his works, Seamus Heaney was preoccupied by the sectarian subject during
the period known as the Troubles in Northern Ireland. However, other preoccupations emanated from
it: his need to find his poetic voice when pressured to speak for his own community; and the
etymological study of the local landscape and its colloquialism. Firstly, this essay will analyse how
Heaney dealt directly with the sectarian subject through three strands; pre Troubles sectarianism,
internal community sectarian punishment and the sectarian murder of family and friends. Secondly, it
will examine the development of his poetic voice in his attempt to determine his role as a poet.
Thirdly, it will also assess Heaney s etymological study of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The poets voice is one of a voyeur, visualising the past life of a girl who was punished for adultery.
After a description that enlivens the bog body, the poem culminates with Heaney addressing the
paralysing emotional experience of being a voyeur to such tribal, intimate revenge. Heaney measures
his sense of injustice against a community s brutal intolerance of rules perceived to have been
violated. He illustrates the troubling irony: stone age justice that puts an adulteress to death is not so
far removed from contemporary Northern Irish society that punishes when a community s sectarian
rules are seen to be breached. Parker puts it that conflicting loyalties, pity and guilt, private and
collective, supply Punishment with its emotional charge.
The Grauballe Man provides a close description of an iconic bog body on display and reveals Heaney
s emotional responses to it. The first half of the poem is a description of each part of the bog body.
Heaney uses dark imagery in conjunction with distinctly human qualities to give the man a spiritual
persistence: the black river of himself. The poem then speculates on his past life and ends with him
shedding the memories of that past. The idea that man s barbaric treatment of his fellows is never far
away; associated ideas link the fate of Grauballe Man with contemporary events in Northern

In our daily life, we often hear the word miracle. We hear that a patient who is expected to die due to

and Many call it as a miracle. Miracle is a striking event which can t be predicted and makes wonder.

he stated that no testimony is sufficient to establish a miracle, unless the testimony be of such a kind,
that its falsehood would be more miraculous, than the fact, which it endeavors to establish ([2]). This
statement describes that miracles are not justified by reports or statements and there are no
testimonials for miracles. For example, Jesus resurrection [3], the original witness may be wrong
whether they saw Jesus or may be the report with the Paul may be wrong. He also believed that
miracle reports are illogical. He stated that people have faith on miracles due to holy belief but
without reasons. Hume also said that There must be a uniform experience against every miraculous
event, otherwise the event cannot be taken into consideration. For example, miracle of Jesus walks on
water. If Jesus can walk on water then why can t other people experience it. We can see that the above
two examples are against the laws of nature. According to him miracles would satisfy some certain
criteria s. Those events should have Witness, evidence, logic, experience. He also told that miracles
are reported by ignorant people. Finally, he concluded that miracles are impossible. Miracles are

Mandatory Influenza Vaccine Essay
As employees and health care works of well known organizations, we have an ethical and moral
obligation to make decisions and choices that reflect the best interest of the health of our patients.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (2010), mandatory programs should be enforced
for health professionals justifying the need for employees to receive the influenza vaccine. The Joint
Commission believes that an estimated 80% or higher of influenza immunization rates are crucial for
providing the necessary immunity needed to protect and reduce influenza infections or health related
illnesses (The American Academy of Pediatrics, 2010). Voluntary programs consist of having the
vaccine readily available for employees for no cost, providing staff with education on influenza
prevention, and having ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Immunization rates still remain low and hospitals that have voluntary programs in place, are not
seeing the results they would if mandatory vaccine programs were put in to place. A mandatory
influenza vaccine policy is the best solution to this issue and long overdue. Health care associated
influenza occurrences are becoming more common as it contributes to patient mortality and morbidity
(The American Academy of Pediatrics, 2010). Thus, proving even further the need to prevent and
control influenza by putting the health and safety of our patients first. Mandating medical
interventions should never be imposed abruptly, as the rights of health professionals need to be
respected as well. Prominent organizations other then the Infectious Diseases Society of America
(IDSA) have jumped on board and supported the policy of fulfilling a mandatory influenza
immunization policy. Other organizations such as The Joint Commission, the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, APIC, and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America also support
this policy (Sullivan, 2009). Many individuals have common fears and

Gay Marriage And The Right Of Same Sex Marriage
In the United States, there is a communal controversy regarding the right of same sex marriage. I
decided to explore the views of two different authors who contrast each other. British Author, Andrew
Sullivan writes the essay, For Gay Marriage about equal rights on marriages for same sex couples.
William J. Bennett composes the essay, Against Gay Marriage giving his views on why couples of the
same sex should not be allowed to engage in marital relations. Sullivan supports the idea of gay
marriages while Bennett opposes the idea. Referring to the article in the Moral Issues book....
Page...give examples from there. Every human being has emotional needs and different interests,
giving rise to diverse and conflicting opinions on gay marriage dealing with social issues, domestic
partnership and religious viewpoints. Marriage is a statement of love and commitment; it is the key to
a pursuit of happiness. Homosexuals have identical emotional needs and temptations as heterosexuals
and there is no reason marriage should be permitted to one class and not the other. Sullivan is a strong
believer that gay and lesbian couples should be treated as equals in society and no different than
anyone else. Many people are afraid of the effects same sex marriages could have on our culture.
Sullivan explains that gay men and women are no different from anyone else in society as far as
political and moral beliefs, so they deserve equal opportunity. Sullivan stays strong in emphasizing

How Swaziland Is A Developing Country
Swaziland is a developing country that is facing many problems which can only be solved through
political reform. Swaziland is located in south eastern Africa and is the last country in Africa to still
have an absolute monarchy. This country has a large health problem, including the highest rate of HIV
in Africa. Swaziland s monarch, King Mswati lll, holds all of the power. Swaziland s economy is
stagnant and its economic growth is steadily declining While the king lives a life of luxury, over fifty
percent of the population of Swaziland live in poverty. Swaziland is also a landlocked country located
in an area in which tropical storms are not uncommon. Swaziland is continuing to struggle as a
developing country for these reasons.
Swaziland has a history of struggle and hardships. According to the US Department of State (2014),
September 6, 1968 marked the day that Swaziland finally gained it s independence from Great Britain.
Independence, however, would not mean freedom for the people of Swaziland. Five years later, King
Sobhuza dissolved the parliament of Swaziland on April 12, 1973. This resulted in King Sobhuza
absorbing all political power in the country, which he used to ban all other political parties from
operating. This would pave the way for the future monarchs of Swaziland to maintain absolute power.
One notable party, the Swaziland Democratic Party, was established on September 24, 2011. They

The Theoretical Relevance Of Marx s Theory Of Alienation
The theoretical relevance of Marx s theory of alienation has been the subject of much contention since
the posthumous publication of his Economic and Philosophical manuscripts in (). While the notion of
alienation, along with its distinctly Hegelian underpinnings, has frequently been dismissed as a
youthful error in comparison with Marx s supposedly more mature work, I argue that it is fundamental
to his critique of capitalism. As Sayers (p.xi) notes, After his early period, Marx did not often use the
term it and much other Hegelian language is for the most part abandoned. Nevertheless, the concept of
alienation is implicit throughout Marx s work, and it continues to provide a major basis for his
understanding of capitalism and for his critique of the impact of the market . It is important to relate
Marx s philosophical project back to the always implicit notion of alienation as a set of relations
between people and as a mode of being in the material world specific to capital(ism), otherwise there
is a risk of overlooking the human relationships that underpin the capitalist mode of production. As
Ollman () points out, By dismissing the essential human relations, the basic relations of alienation
which underly capitalist production, its surface relations become everything (p.202). So, in dismissing
the human relationships that maintain a given mode of production, it is reified thus, any critique that
does not take this into consideration fails to address the matter

. . (p. 137). The Marquis is a prime example of the French aristocracy that benefitted from the feudal
system in France during this time. It s no surprise that when the Marquis meets his grim end, it is at
the hands of the father of the boy he ran over. A second character of questionable integrity in the story
is Madame Defarge, the wife of Monsieur Defarge, who is an avid participant in the revolution. While
Monsieur Defarge believes that the reformation is a noble cause and wants to see a change in the
social and political system, Madame Defarge s reasons for supporting the revolution are more
personal. It is revealed later in the book that Madame Defarge was the younger sister of a peasant girl
that the Marquis raped. This instilled a hatred of the aristocracy in her from a young age. It seems that
Madame Defarge s main motive is revenge, and eventually this is the cause of her death. When going
to murder the Marquis nephew s wife and daughter, she gets into a fight with the girl s nanny and is
accidentally killed. This book is historically significant because it used the perspective of the French
Revolution to reflect on social inequality in Britain. As Dickens put it at the beginning of his novel It
was the best of times, it was the worst of times. While the clergy and nobles in France were getting

The Tell Tale Heart Essay
The Tell Tale Heart
The Tell Tale Heart is a story about a man who killed an old man just because he didn t like the way
his eyes looked like. The main character speaks about madness as being a gift and not a kid of
disability for example in paragraph one on page 93 he says: but why would you say that I am mad?
The disease had sharpened my senses not destroyed not dulled them . The mad man killed the old man
and then cut him up and put him under the floorboards of the house.

I think Acton maybe feels a little bit guilty and is very paranoid about the whole murder unlike in The
Tell Tale Heart where the murder is very confident about what he had done and planned the whole
murder whereas Acton didn t really plan to kill Huxley, but Acton in his mind thought that Huxley
knew all along that he was going to get murdered. Acton thought that Huxley planned to get murdered
and so told Acton to touch a lot of stuff in the house for example on page 83 Huxley said: There s a
bottle of burgundy, Acton. Mind fetching it from that cabinet?
Yes, fetch it. Handle it. Touch it. He did.
Than Acton thought that Huxley was basically setting him up. Once Acton strangled Huxley he had
started to clean the house of fingerprints. That was all fine and well but Acton didn t clean only the
door knobs, glasses, cup and things like that which he touched he cleaned the whole house the walls,
the couch absolutely everything which was a sign of big paranoia from Acton.
The character in The Tell Tale Heart had a lot of conversations throughout the story but all the
conversations were to himself. The things that the character talked about were very strange. He talked
about how every night at midnight for the last week he came to check on

sufficient enough to shield from x rays will be more than enough to shield from gamma rays. The only
other places radiation can come from are from the top and bottom of the vacuum chamber. Regardless
of how much radiation will be coming from the bottom of the chamber it will not affect us because we
won t be looking under the chamber or above the chamber most likely when the reactor is running.
On top of this both the top of the bottom are being built from aluminum which will stop some
radiation. Lastly, a thin sheet of lead, or a some water / dirt can be placed on top or under the container
in order to help block the radiation a lot more.
Due to the risks that can occur from high radiation levels, a backup plan has been developed in the
case of high radiation levels. To start, at the start of the project a Geiger Counter will be purchased in
order to keep track of all the radiation and determine whether the radiation ever reaches unsafe levels.
Should the radiation level be determined to be harmful, the reactor will be surrounded by material in

Miley Is A Primitive, Insuppressible Instinct
It has been two years since the performance at the VMA s and people are still talking about it. This is
exactly what Miley wants and is striving for. According to Jib Fowles, The desire to exhibit ourselves
in such a way as to make others look at us is a primitive, insuppressible instinct (Fowles 89). Miley is
expressing her need for attention in an extreme way and it is working. By doing crazy and absurd
things, she has gotten a lot of attention and people to talk about her and keep her name in headlines
globally. Despite the criticism that she was receiving, her song, Wrecking Ball, became her first to be
at the top of charts in 2014 (Biography.com Editors). A vast number of people still continue listen to
the pop artist and fuel her success and desire for attention. She has succeeded in being successful by
being deemed as number seventeen on Forbes Magazine s 2014 list of the highest paid celebrities
(Forbes.com). Her fans say bad things about her and judge her for her actions, but they still support
her by purchasing and listening to her music. People everywhere cannot help but become so fascinated
in what she is doing, despite whether they agree with her or not. Her ways are entertaining and
interesting because they are bizarre, which society loves. Miley Cyrus has a large number of people
that talk about her in negative ways, but this does not stop her from doing what she loves, which adds

Moonbeam City Analyse
The television show that I was assigned was Comedy Central s new animated show Moonbeam City.
Having never heard about this show at all I did not know what to expect going into watching the
trailer. After watching the trailer I found good aspects about the show and some aspects that I was not
a huge fan of. Let me begin with evaluating the things I did enjoy about this particular trailer. The first
thing that I noticed was obviously that it was an animated series, and then I noticed their used of
colors that made up these characters and the city. The colors that they use mainly are very bright
almost florescent neon colors. Only a few seconds into this trailer I knew that is was a spoof show of
80s cop show Miami Vice. I love the idea of an animated spoof show that stems from Miami Vice,
being that I am a huge Archer fan that spoofs all the James Bond movies. They also got some big
Hollywood names to appear on this show such as; Rob Lowe, Kate Mara, and Elizabeth Banks. ...

Even though it is an animated comedy show, after watching this trailer I realized that I really didn t

I thought that this trailer was also possibly showing too much of what s to come on the show. I also

Mass Incarceration Of African Americans
Mass Incarceration of African Americans
Many jail cells and prisons hold more African Americans than colleges and universities. This is a
major problem for younger men and women that have to witness this because if this is all they are
exposed to then this will be all they know. It does not only affect younger children or teenagers but
close family members, wives, and parents. The mass incarceration of African Americans is becoming
the norm for our men and women because the ¨white man¨ or the government is subliminally fighting
to oppress African Americans and hold them back from any chance of prosperity that they have.
One great example of this would be Doctor Martin Luther King Jr and Nelson Mandela. Martin Luther
King was an activist and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When parents are imprisoned it is not only they who suffer, but also their offspring. Children of
incarcerated parents are more likely to drop out of school; misbehave in school; develop learning
disabilities. These children are acting out of anger, sadness, and lack of relationship with mom or dad.
Whenever a parent is missing out of the household it plays a major role on the child in every way
possible; academically, socially , and even emotionally. This only leads to these kids being thrown into
the streets, doing drugs, in the graveyard, jail or prison. Every child needs a father and mother in their
life to guide them along the way, be there for them to cheer them on and see them grow into an adult.
But cops and higher officials do not care about any family or children that is not their own. They also
don t care about you if you do not look similar or have the same social status. It s like they look down
on us as if we are beneath them. That is a pure example of selfishness. So to the policeman this is
basically a repeated cycle; lock up mom or dad then the kid will go astray and start getting his or
herself into illegal trouble, soon enough being locked up as well. And because of this cycle it seems
like the norm thing to kids and even

Korea And Japan s Current Relationship
Investigation
Despite Korea and Japan s current relationship that is cordial to a certain degree, the effect of the
brutal regime Japan established on Korea is yet a contentious issue. Bruce Cumings, an American
historian of East Asia claims, Koreans never saw the Japanese rule as anything but illegitimate and
humiliating, and this commonly held belief exists for a reason. During the Japanese occupation,
thousands of comfort women, students, and civilians were tormented and tortured by the Japanese;
however, this crucial period of time shaped Korea s future significantly. It is therefore vital to question
what exactly Korea benefited from the Japanese occupation, and consider whether the positive
outcomes outweighs the negative. Was it really colonialism, or could the years be considered as a time
of modernization? Perhaps it was both, or perhaps there exists a very fine line between the two beliefs.
Many evidences manifest Korea s development in various essential aspects such as education, tenancy,
industrialization, and modernization in communication and transportation, but there are also evidences
proving that the occupation was rather unfavorable. Although many argue that the arduous period of
35 years for the Korean civilians served rather an auspicious time for Korea s future, when weighing
both sides of the argument, Korea in truth did not benefit significantly during the occupation.

Van Gogh And Gauguin
The discussion that took place during week three focused broadly on comparing the differences in
vision, personality and ideas of the primitive between Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin. These
differences were investigated through their working relationship, as shown by their letters of
correspondence, and the art each artist produced during this time. The group discussed comparisons
between Van Gogh s plan and almost obsession with making the Studio of the South work and
Gauguin s wanderlust that kept him moving. The ideal studio of both Gauguin and Van Gogh opened
up discussion further to what aspects of the primitive each painter was influenced by in their
attempted creation of a utopian working space. The readings from Childs and the ... Show more

A Discussion again focused on comparing the two saying how the preference of Brittany versus Arles
says much about how their creative process differed. Gauguin s rarely depicts his subject matter with
descriptive accuracy instead he takes a place and abstracts the savage and primitive quality that he is
searching for. Brittany offers Gauguin not only a rocky savagery in its landscape but allows him to
abstract a medieval primitivism from the people in the area due to their Catholic devotion and less
modern lifestyle. In his letter to Gauguin in September 1888, Gauguin describes the figures in Vision
After the Sermon, as him achieving a great rustic and superstitious simplicity saying that the people
are less civilized due to their Catholic devotion, and thus more spiritual. Arles offered Van Gogh a
calm sunny place in nature that can act as a monastery for him. A quote by Childs was brought up that,
Arles was caught somewhere between a French agrarian village and a modern city This caused issue
for Gauguin who didn t want any of that modernity, as shown by him often leaving out signs of
civilization in his tropical landscapes. While Van Gogh does feature aspects of modernity in his

Taking a Look at Greece
Research Paper Greece
Greece is a thriving country, but if it wasn t for its beautiful islands, seas, and mountains, Greece
would not be as strong of a country today. All these factors have helped Greece grow as a country.
Throughout history, various mountains such as Mount Olympus and seas such as the Mediterranean
have played an important role in the development of Greece history and culture.
Greece is a country that is surrounded by mostly water, and the sea has played an important role in its
history ( Ancient Greek Colonization.. ). The ancient Greeks were often known to be called seafarers
looking for opportunities for trade and founding new coastal sites along the Mediterranean sea.
Trading stations were the furthest outposts of Greek culture. At these trading stations, Greek goods,
such as bronze, silver, olive oil, wine and pottery were exchanged for more luxurious items ( Ancient
Greek Colonization.. ). Also, well established maritime routes around the Mediterranean sea enabled
foreigners to travel to Greece. After the military campaign of Alexander the Great, a lot more intense
trade routes were opened across Asia. These trade routes extended as far as Afghanistan and the Indus
River Valley ( Ancient Greek Colonization.. ). Not only did these trade routes help with trading goods,
it always helped in introducing Greece to new cultures and in spreading Greek culture throughout
Europe. The spread of these cultures can be known as cultural diffusion

What Factors Can Be Considered When Conducting Forensic...
What important factors need to be considered when conducting forensic science?
What is a crime scene? What is forensic science and how is it conducted? What factors can impact
evidence and what procedures have to be taken to stop this from happening? What factors have to be
taken into account when conducting forensic science and why? How will not doing this impact a court
verdict? In my assignment I hope to answer these questions.
A crime scene is not necessarily the location of a crime, it can be where the planning took place,
where the body is found and where the evidence is found. The crime scene can be as small as a bite
mark or as large as a geographical location. There are two types of crime scene; primary and

First of all, the crime scene has to be cordoned off from the public, this consists of two types of
cordoning; inner and outer. Inner cordoning is where the main forensic examination takes place
whereas the outer cordoning is used to prevent the public from entering. Cordoning is important as it
keeps the public out of the crime scene, so that evidence cannot get tampered with or contaminated,
tents are also put over crime scenes which are outside to avoid people and press looking in on the
crime scene and protect evidence from the weather elements and animals which may accidently
tamper with evidence. Without cordoning the forensic officers wouldn t have any privacy from the
public which could interfere and contaminate evidence. Once the crime scene is cordoned off, a
common approach path is established, whereby stepping stones are placed to prevent cross
contamination. This is important to establish a common approach path because without one evidence
could become contaminated or destroyed for example if a forensic officer accidently stood on a
footprint or a patch of blood, therefore spreading the blood around the crime scene, making it harder
for a hypothesis to be established.
The forensic investigators wear protective clothing and shoe covers to prevent cross contamination,
they also have their own DNA on the data base to eliminate their DNA from the suspects if it did get
on the crime scene. The national data base was established in 1995, which

Love Medicine By Louise Erdrich Summary
Tracks and Love Medicine, both by Louise Erdrich, are only fragments of a much larger collection of
Erdrich s Native American works. Both pieces of literature are set in the early to mid twentieth
century and revolve around difficulties the Native American people go through in their struggle of
preserving their culture and ways of life. Native American literature invokes a taste of modern
influence alongside traditional Indian mythology to truly thicken a plot. Ancestral values are evident
throughout this specific type of literature as well as the idea of balance within the world to create a
true native atmosphere. Furthermore, there are major themes within this type of literature including
Christian influence, family, and reservations. These all tie into the life of a Native American. Each
major work explores the world of Native Americans through its narration, characters, and the overall
plot. To begin, the narration of the novels is one of many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

setting though ties into the overall structure of the novels. The jumping around gives depth and history
that adds to the reader s experience. Mythology is then another differing factor. Mythology and lore
are used all throughout Tracks. The main plot and characters focus around Lake Matchimanito that is
said to hold a deadly monster. It was told simply to scare children but after men turn up dead, it s
taken too seriously within the Native American community. Love Medicine doesn t include that big of

The Importance Of Art In Schools
Bob Bryant the Executive Director of Fine Arts for Katy ISD in 2000, emphasises the importance of
utilizing art in schools curriculums: The arts are what make us most human, most complete as people.
The arts cannot be learned through occasional or random exposure any more than math or science can
(Bryant). Art is a way of expression and leads to acquiring a deeper understanding of the details ,
presented to us, in life. Why is that on the first day of preschool, teachers teach through the help of
art? The foundation of our learning is through art. Creativity is the most exuberant and imaginative as
our early stages of life. Creativity can neither be contained nor limited. Art is an outlet used for people
to show who they are. Not only does art the pivot of one s individualism, but it is also kindred with
intercultural relationships. Traditional pieces of art are passed down from each generation to carry out
a group s heritage. Since art is an essential, integral part in a student s academic learning, schools
should make art classes mandatory. Students should be engaged and willing to learn more about what
they are learning. With art there is no need for you to be good at it. Art is depended only on the artist
himself/herself. If students view art as just another subject then they are missing the academic value
art gives. Students have said that art should be viewed as an extracurricular activity or exploratory
classes. Art goes beyond having artistic value and surpasses the idea of one s own limits. Some people
see art as an elective class, or a hobby class. According to Allyono17, one of the authors of Teen Ink
magazine, explains the importance of the beneficiaries of the present by saying, First, art and music
classes don t seem to be used on an everyday basis. There is no point in learning and spending time on
a class that won t be needed in your future (Allyono17). Every class that a student takes, will benefit
them in some way or the other. When walking into a school, the first thing people will see are artwork
in the halls. When going to church, people see artwork of who and what they believe in. Art is
everywhere, and if students are required to take art classes then they will be able to

A Study On Sandwich Panels
1. Introduction
Sandwich panels has been widely used in different kinds of constructions nowadays, though sandwich
technology was confined almost entirely in aerospace applications before 1960s. From that time, their
characteristics such as high strength to weight ratio and energy efficient started to attract engineers
attention, and many research and studies enables them to be used safely in modern constructions.
While sandwich panels can be made by the combination of a variety of materials, the structure of them
always shares a same pattern. Two relatively thin and strong facings on both side, and a relatively light
and thick core materials in the middle. It is also worth to notice that the shape of facings can be flat or
profiled to satisfy different situations.
Commonly used facing materials can be stainless steel, aluminum, wood, plastic and concrete, and
their core materials may be made of rubber, different kinds of polymers and mineral wool. Another
special way to make core is to produce a honeycomb core, and it can be even made by paper. The
range of choices of facing and core materials gives a flexibility in use of sandwich panels. This means
that designers can choose a specific combination to optimal its behavior for a special application.

Representation of Women in Early British Literature
In most early British literature a woman is often presented as only one thing: an object. They can be
objects of desire, objects of beauty, or merely objects to be owned, but it is rare that a woman is
anything more than that. It is even more uncommon to find a female character in literature that is
presented as an equal to the men around her. In William Congreve s The Way of the World he plays on
the similarities of both his female and male characters to establish just how much of an issue gender
really is because though their actions might be similar, the consequences are not. The tangled web of
relationships that connect each character in this story are what drive Congreve s play forward. With
each past affair (or current) affair that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even a man who s character isn t as upstanding as a woman s still makes out better than her in the end.
Congreve seems to establish that women are merely at the whim of the men around them, they do not
control their own fates because they are naturally submissive. Lady Wishfort, try as she might, cannot
do anything to stop Mirabell s actions and he, therefore, comes out the winner. The most important
fact that was overlooked in class was the true nature of Mirabell and Millamant s relationship. One
question never broached in discussion was, why all the plotting in the first place? If Mirabell truly
loved Millamant like he claimed, why did he need to fight so hard to get the money she was expecting
from her aunt? There s no evident reason why they couldn t have lived without such money or her
aunt s blessing and yet it seems as if Mirabell practically refuses to marry Millamant without her
inheritance. Millamant, the female and again the submissive one, goes along with her beloved s
scheming because she loves him and will do whatever it takes to get him to marry her. Millamant, the
man, uses his dominance to get her to agree because it seems he will only marry her if he gets her
money as well. The woman seems like a fool for only focusing on love and only gets what she wants
as a result of her man s intelligence and cunning, but he certainly wasn t just in it for the love. John

Degradation of Women in Jack Kerouac’s On The Road Essay
The Degradation of Women in On The Road
An argument can be made that the women in Jack Kerouac s On The Road are not as characteristically
well developed as the men. Through Sal and Dean s interactions with women, the reader sees that
there exist two types of females in this novel the benevolent virgin/mother figure or the whore.
Women are constantly referred to in a negative way or blatantly degraded and insulted by numerous
characters. However, Kerouac (through the character of Sal) exhibits sympathy for women. Sal does
occasionally participate in female stereotyping, but this is simply because he wants to fit in. Although
Sal may try to make arguments against the poor treatment of women, the novel in its entirety seems to

To Sal s credit though he does ask what she wants or thinks from the start but this sudden care seems
to arise due to his own nervousness and insecurities not any kind of genuine feeling for Marylou. Her
identity as seen through the eyes of men would fall into the whore stereotype of women. This is the
exact opposite from Sal s Aunt. The most apparent treatment of Sal s Aunt as something less than an
equal comes at the end of part one. Sal has just returned from his first trip west. He is tired. He has
been starving for three days now and of course eats everything in the house. Then his Aunt s few
extensive lines in the entire novel occur, and in a decidedly motherly fashion she says Poor little
Salvatore . She has fulfilled Sal s entire need of her. She has been a mother to cook for him and fret
over him. This passage seems to point out the completely flat identities women were allowed or
perceived to have by the Sal. Women need few lines because the only thing they need to say is go
ahead and do me or oh, poor baby . The virgin or the whore; the only identities men saw (Holmes
371). A slight twist on this is the character of Terry. Though only in the book a little while, she has
relatively lengthy dialogue (for a woman) and a very significant role. She was the whore and the
mother figure for Sal. He got to make her in a hotel in California and she also got to cook for him and

opened the doors to economic freedom, and economic freedom became the trigger for international
free trade and overall economic expansion. It allows for personal choices and prosperity. On a day to
day basis, consumers are no longer limited to local products, they have the choice to choose from a
myriad of brands and selections imported from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Air transport, which was once far too expensive for most companies to afford, has dropped
significantly between 1955 and 1972, air transport dropped 8.1% annually in cost (1). This has made it
worth the shipping costs to hire internationally. Therefore, there are more companies hiring manual
workers, customer support staff, and other various positions internationally. Although the benefits of
companies hiring at minimum wages as low as 60¢ (2) per hour is not immediate for the countries in
which outsource, it is inevitable that competition will increase, and therefore the economies of said
countries. For example, the wages paid by international corporations in Vietnam are higher than those
paid by local businesses (3). If it were not for the money flowing into a developing nation from
international corporations, international income gaps would be even larger.
North Korea is cited by many to be one of the least globalized countries (4). With closed borders,
controlled markets, and very little press freedom, it is safe to say that North Korea is isolated from
many of the economic benefits of globalization. The typical North Korean earns about $47 per month
(5), which is very low as compared to more globalized countries. North Korea s policies mostly reflect
self reliance and independence. Although these policies were mostly successful in the early years of
North Korea, the 1990 s brought

The Campaign Of Joseph Mccarthy
In 1950, fewer than fifty thousand Americans out of a total one hundred fifty million were members of
the communist party. This was the information Senator Joseph McCarthy used to receive permission
to proceed in exploitive communist hunts. McCarthy was dishonest in these hunts, leading to damage
far beyond repair to the United States and its citizens. Joseph McCarthy mislead the United States by
instilling unnecessary fear in the United States citizens, creating unnecessary tension between the
United States and Soviet Union, and compromised the safety of Americans.
Re Election was approaching and Joseph McCarthy s first term was unimpressive. Edmund Walsh
suggested a crusade against communist subversives (Hall). Senator McCarthy agreed and took
advantage of the nation s wave of fanatic terror against communism. On February 9, 1950, in his
speech in Wheeling, West Virginia, McCarthy proclaimed that he was aware of two hundred five card
carrying members of the communist party who worked for the United States Department of State (
McCarthyism ). On February 20, 1950, McCarthy addressed the Senate and made a list of claims and
cited eight one cases ( McCarthyism ). The Senate then called for a full investigation. McCarthy took
advantage of the citizens fear of communism, conveying how he deceived the nation to reach the
superiority he wished to achieve.
After Germany s defeat, the United States sought to help the Soviet Union, however, they wouldn t
accept the Marshall Plan

Competitive Strategy Of Couche-Tard s Retail Industry
Couche Tard is the leader in the Canadian convenience store industry, further boosted by the recent
acquisition of their competitor CST Brands Inc. One can thus see that Couche Tard has a strong
competitive ability. Their competitive ability can be seen from the market position in North America.
As of June 30, 2017, Couche Tard s network comprised 9,424 convenience stores throughout North
America. Its North American network consists of 18 business units, including 14 in the United States
covering 42 states and 4 in Canada covering all 10 provinces and employing a high number of
workers. 2.2.2 The strength of potential entrants The retail industry shows a low cost for companies
wanting to enter the industry. However, these new entrants will not be a direct threat to Couche Tard,
as they established their strong market position throughout the past 37 years by continuously
expanding their reach through acquisitions. 2.2.3 The bargaining power of the supplier Retail industry
depends on their supplier which thus indicated that supplier within the industry have a high bargaining
power. The supply chain agility of chain stores has improved over the past several years, as evidenced
by their ability to increase inventory turnover by 2.6% per year between 2002 and 2008. The largest
discrepancies between chain and non chain stores regarding inventory turnover growth occurred in the
home electronics and appliance stores, computer and software stores, specialized building materials

Remembering In The Devil s Arithmetic
The Devil s Arithmetic focuses on one concept throughout the story, remembering. Hannah is
struggling with how everything in Jewish culture involves thinking about the past, but it s not just
important in Jewish lives. I believe remembering is important to Jews and non jews so that history
doesn t repeat itself, Jews and Non Jews can remember their relatives who have died before, and it
impacts the story because at the end Hannah is proud to remember. As Long as we breathe, we can
see. As long as we remember, those dead are alive inside of us. (113) When Rivka states this to
Hannah it s proof that she is one of many who believe remembering is a way to honor those dead
before us. Honoring past relatives is important not just to Jews, but non

Examples Of Madness In The Streetcar Named Desire
The streetcar Named Desire is a very complex and engaging book with 3 different themes, desire and
fate, death and madness. I chose to be Blanche DuBois in scene 8 and scene 10 as it sets the
theme, madness.Like the other major themes of the play desire and fate, and death madness too was
Tennessee Williams s obsession. His sister Rose s strange behaviour which had long been a source of
anxiety to her parents, later took the form of violent sexual fantasies and accusations against her
father. Not only did Tennessee Williams feel guilty for not having saved Rose from all this, but he now
feared for his own sanity because the mental illness that afflicted Rose might be hereditary. He
certainly did have a breakdown of sorts in his early twenties. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Her illusions, the very establishment of her life, are pulverised and this reflects the rot in her energy,
status, and mental limit. Toward the begin of the play, she is obviously indicated to be somebody who
is clutching the picture of an advanced and dainty character that originates from a distinguished
society however by Scene 10, she has ended up completely mindful that this is a daydream which is
the reason she hammers the mirror face down at the very begin of the scene as she has understood that
she is not able to trick herself any longer. At the point when Stanley shows up, she is compelled to
envision that she has gotten a telegram from Shep Huntleigh with a specific end goal to escape the
truth that she is being constrained out by Stanley and that Mitch generally won t needs her. At the
point when Stanley poses a question about the telegram, and Blanche answers What telegram? , it gets
to be very apparent to the group of onlookers that this was all affectation; Stanley pulverises Blanche s
fancies and makes her face reality. Also, Blanche s craziness gets to be more obvious through the
shocking reflections and peculiar shadow that encompass her. Her assault symbolises her last
annihilation to the values that Stanley s general public speaks to and the termination of the ethics and
estimations of the

City of Alexandria, Virginia Budget Fiscal Year 2011 Essay
The City of Alexandria is recognized as one of the best places to live and do business on the east
coast. In 2004, the Alexandria City Council adopted a Strategic Plan for 2004 thru 2015 with the
vision of maintaining the city s vibrant, diverse, historic, and unique neighborhoods. Their mission is
to maintain financial stability, provide excellent services that are valued by the customers, and engage
the entire community as it plans for the future (City of Alexandria, 2010). In fiscal year 2009, the City
of Alexandria received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its annual budget. To receive
this prestigious award, the city must meet program criteria as a policy document, as an operations
guide, as a financial plan, and as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The budget will present three important factors: the narrative which describes the agency s objectives,
the detailed schedule that translates the request for new agency appropriations, and the cumulative
schedules, which aggregate the new initiatives into existing activities to form the complete request
(Mikesell, 2011, p. 174).
Alexandria, Virginia is home to over 8,000 thriving businesses and organizations. The City s budget
serves as the blueprint for financial decisions implemented during the fiscal year. The FY 2011
Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) maintained its commitment to the
residents of Alexandria. The General Fund is $531.6 million, an increase of 0.3 percent over last year s
budget maintaining all of the core city services despite the challenging economic conditions.
Alexandria residents will pay about $125 more in property taxes along with higher fees for parking
meters and storm water management projects, among other services. The real estate taxes increased
slightly but still remain among the lowest in the Northern Virginia region. In the budget, $167.9
million was allocated to the Alexandria City Public Schools, and a $1.6 million increase was set aside
for transit subsidy. The final change

Suicide Through Social Media
Rebecca Sedwick, a 12 year old girl, committed suicide after being repeatedly cyberbullied by 15 girls
for many months. Once again, cyberbullying through social media has led to the suicide of a child. (
Phillips, Suzanne ) Social media allows hundreds of ways to communicate with others with electronic
devices. Sometimes communicating with strangers, and sometimes unanimous. This idea of constant
messages, notifications, and texts can be very dangerous when it comes to cyberbullying because the
victim feels like they have no way out, or nowhere to hide. Social media for kids and teens ultimately
has only negative effects because it leads to cyberbullying, a decrease in education, and suicide.

A large sum of suicides are indirectly or directly influenced by experiences with online aggression.
Suicide is not an uncommon result of tormenting through social media. The psychological impact [of
cyberbullying] can be devastating, and suicide is not unknown among young victims. For some
victims, the damage to their sense of dignity and emotional well being could persist for years. ( Jessica
Mendoza ) The effects of online bullying are extremely harmful to children. Any child that is having
suicidal thoughts from online bullying is a deeply harmed child. Suicide in teens is not uncommon
either. Jennifer Holladay states, Our study of upwards of 2,000 middle school students revealed that
cyberbullying victims were nearly twice as likely to attempt suicide compared to students not targeted
with online abuse. Online abuse it a growing problem with the modernizing society. More and more
people at younger and younger ages have more access online, and to social media. This increases the
online abuse, and will lead to more and more suicides in teens

Essay on Buildings As An Underlying Cause of Global Warming
Introduction
Progressive deterioration of global warming and protection of environment are important areas of
interest for the whole world. Buildings as an underlying cause are responsible for global warming.
Edwards (1996) pointed out that building has a key role to play as they are one of the major sources of
energy consumption. And he (1996) also stated with some statistics to support this point that buildings
account for about half of all global energy, water, and raw materials as well as in the EU (Edwards,
1996, P. xiv). And another data is that buildings constitute about 45 per cent of carbon dioxide
emissions (John, 1998, P. xi). In addition, buildings should be accountable to most of land loss in
agriculture. But it does not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

considered. Finally, this paper also turn to highlight the relevant field in China and what availability
would suit for China, especially focus on what recommendations be suggested to local authorities in
order to guide the whole society to aware the importance of green building and accelerate the
development of this industry.
Definition of green building
As people known, to use renewable resource and to save energy or comfortable indoor environment is
far from the overall picture. Because construction mentioned above is an industry which include many
aspects such as land use and application of advanced technology, etc. Therefore if we want to define
what is green building we should recognize the whole industrial chain included each aspects and
unintended environment, social, economic, consequence brought possibly of complex activity. Kats
(2003) in his article stated that the sustainable or green building should deal with those key points:
environment, resource energy consumption, impact on people, financial impact and the world at large
which is a broader set of issues such as ground water recharge or global warming, as well
governmental policies are typically concerned about (Kats, 2003, P. 1). And another institute, Office of
the federal Environmental Executive (2003) defined green building as the practice of increasing the
efficiency with which

  • 2. Mitostop Body Mitostop is said to be effective in slowing the growth of malignant brain tumours. Although this experimental drug is effective in slowing down the growth process of the tumour, Mitostop causes Arteriovenous Anastomoses (AVA s) that over time can affect the normal functioning of the body and its organs. The drug Mitostop increases the occurrence of AVA s within the body by 1000 times. Blood moves throughout the body within a closed system, any interruption to the normal blood flow within the body will cause an effect to the liver and kidney organs. This essay discusses the likely effects of Mitostop on the specific functioning of the Kidneys and Liver. KIDNEY S The kidneys are essential organs in the body that are involved in the regulation ... When glucose levels are low the liver breaks down glycogen to glucose and releases it into the bloodstream (Jenkins Tortora, 2013). The liver also acts as a storage component for glycogen and triglycerides. If this function were impaired due to a lack of blood flow through the liver cells due to the formation of AVA s homeostasis would not be maintained within our bodies creating an imbalance. The delivery of glucose to the blood steam would not be successful creating many problems within our bodies. I believe cells will die as glucose is an energy source for a lot of cells within our body and organs will be damaged (Marieb Hoehn, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The authority of allotment was granted to the President of the United States. Individuals received either 80 or 160 acre plots, and in some instances families received higher acreages. Each allotment was to be held in trust by the federal government for a period of 25 years, which meant during that time period Indian peoples would not be subjected to federal tax on their property. Native Americans were not allowed to immediately sell their land. The Burke Act, passed in 1906 (inside of the 25 year window), revoked the stipulation that Indians could not sell their land. • 4. Picture Brides Research Paper I wouldn t want to meet my soulmate through picture brides because it s unconventional and insincere. It doesn t take a rocket scientist to see that both parties thought they were benefiting their own interests going into a picture bride marriage. I admit that there was a lot of deception involved, however that didn t change the fact that going through with their marriage was arrange on the circumstances of their self interests. For the brides, some would be from poor families and needed money. Obviously what they found in America wasn t what they expected. But they never loved the American on the other side, but they found the opportunity too hard to pass. They needed to make money to support their family. On the other side, most of the men were poor farmers that highly likely weren t going to find true love, so they decided to create some of it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s easy to deceive and talk to someone when not face to face. Instead, they can lie about everything, and it s be fine because the bride would never know until she got off the boat. Also, the most of the women had too much honor and pride, so they went with the marriage. Many felt they would dishonor their family, if they went back to Japan. The main part that doesn t appeal to me is the whole idea of just sending a bunch of pictures and letters across the pacific ocean. Unless you meet them in person, for all you know, they could be a serial killer or very poor. These picture brides were clearly taken advantage of because of their desperation for either freedom or money. I just bothers me that they didn t know this was going to happen. I know there were probably a few of honest men that were trying to trick Japanese women into becoming their wives, but it s just distinguishing that men would go through all that trouble of using younger pictures of themselves and thinking of lies in order to persuade the women to come to ... Intel, Monopolies, And Corruption Des Spicer Prof. Cox ENG 1102 9/20/17 Research Paper: Intel, Monopolies, and Corruption Throughout the last 50 or so years, tech companies have risen and fall, gaining fame and power, and marking their names in history book for achieving momentous tasks, often in which can still be seen today. Intel is not an exception to this trend; in fact, the mega corporation is a prime example of what American tech giants look like: Intel has their hand in essentially every market dealing with computer components, from memory and memory controllers, to accelerators, to their main attraction, Central Processing Units, or CPU s, for Desktops, Laptops, and Servers. Not only does Intel have vast reach in the computer component market, but they have complete control of not only their production process, being for the most part self contained. From mining necessary resources, to shipping out their complete products from factories to their recipients, whether that be a store or an OEM. Intel is truly one of the most successful, if not the most successful Tech giant involved with Computer hardware. However, they only got to this place through nefarious actions, such as breaking contracts, playing the courts to their advantage, throwing their weight around, regardless of the legality of it, to meet their bottom lines. Considering that Intel is at such a high position, and has pretty much always existed at a fairly high position in the market, why? This paper will set out to find out the ... Similarities Between Gulf And The Gilgamesh Flood The Epic of Gilgamesh has been important to Christians as far back as its revelation in the mid nineteenth century in the vestiges of the library at Nineveh, with its record of a general flood with critical parallels to the flood in the Book of Genesis. There have been various flood stories distinguished from antiquated sources scattered around the world. The stories that were found on cuneiform tablets, which involve a portion of the most punctual surviving written work, and have clear similitudes. The cuneiform style of writing was developed by the Sumerians and carried on by the Akkadians. The Epic of Gilgamesh was contained on twelve extensive tablets, and since the first discovery, it has been found on others and additionally having been converted into other early languages. There are numerous similarities between the Gilgamesh flood account and the scriptural flood account starting above all with God picking an honest man to assemble an ark as a result of a looming incredible flood. In the two records, tests from all types of creatures were to be on the ark, and birds were utilized after the downpours to decide whether flood waters had died down anyplace to uncover dry land. There are different similitudes between the Gilgamesh flood account and the scriptural flood account. The similarities between the flood account in both Genesis and Gilgamesh continued with its location. Since these societies existed in Mesopotamia, it isn t out of the norm for those two to share ... The KKK was and still are part of the Colorado history, for one could still find the Klan in Colorado, for the KKK ran the state Colorado from1924 to 1932 until it was disempowered by Franklin Delano Roosevelt.. After the election of 1924, the governor Clarence Morley the mayor of Denver, Benjamin Stapleton, and U.S. Senator Rice Means were all Klansmen. Also, the state s House of Representatives for the most part were ran by the Klan. The KKK marched and burned crosses in small towns throughout the state, from Great Plains through the mountains to the Western Slope. As Denver, Pueblo, Grand Junction, Canon City and other towns and cities surrendered to the Klan, only one major city escaped: Colorado Springs. Six Confederate veterans from Pulaski, Tennessee created the original Ku Klux Klan on December 24, 1865, during the Reconstruction of the South after the Civil War. The KKK stretched into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a mouthpiece for white southern resistance to the Republican Party s Reconstruction era policies designed to create political and economic equality for blacks. Peer computing applications make efficient use of computing resources around the edge of the network. The efficiency of peer computing networks is enhanced by the availability of higher distributed storage capacity and computational cycles. Certain applications take advantage of direct connection between peer devices, thereby improving the efficiency of the communication link. In this paper, the working of the BitTorrent protocol is discussed, along with the improved efficiency in certain kinds of applications. This paper further talks about the usage of BirTorrent protocol over local area network (LAN). 1.Intoduction Peer to peer file sharing using BitTorrent protocol: 1.1 Problem Definition: A peer to peer computer network uses diverse connectivity between the different participants of the network. • 12. Theme Of Punishment By Seamus Heaney As is evident in several of his works, Seamus Heaney was preoccupied by the sectarian subject during the period known as the Troubles in Northern Ireland. However, other preoccupations emanated from it: his need to find his poetic voice when pressured to speak for his own community; and the etymological study of the local landscape and its colloquialism. Firstly, this essay will analyse how Heaney dealt directly with the sectarian subject through three strands; pre Troubles sectarianism, internal community sectarian punishment and the sectarian murder of family and friends. Secondly, it will examine the development of his poetic voice in his attempt to determine his role as a poet. Thirdly, it will also assess Heaney s etymological study of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poets voice is one of a voyeur, visualising the past life of a girl who was punished for adultery. After a description that enlivens the bog body, the poem culminates with Heaney addressing the paralysing emotional experience of being a voyeur to such tribal, intimate revenge. Heaney measures his sense of injustice against a community s brutal intolerance of rules perceived to have been violated. He illustrates the troubling irony: stone age justice that puts an adulteress to death is not so far removed from contemporary Northern Irish society that punishes when a community s sectarian rules are seen to be breached. Parker puts it that conflicting loyalties, pity and guilt, private and collective, supply Punishment with its emotional charge. The Grauballe Man provides a close description of an iconic bog body on display and reveals Heaney s emotional responses to it. The first half of the poem is a description of each part of the bog body. Heaney uses dark imagery in conjunction with distinctly human qualities to give the man a spiritual persistence: the black river of himself. The poem then speculates on his past life and ends with him shedding the memories of that past. Swaziland s economy is stagnant and its economic growth is steadily declining While the king lives a life of luxury, over fifty percent of the population of Swaziland live in poverty. • 18. The Theoretical Relevance Of Marx s Theory Of Alienation The theoretical relevance of Marx s theory of alienation has been the subject of much contention since the posthumous publication of his Economic and Philosophical manuscripts in (). While the notion of alienation, along with its distinctly Hegelian underpinnings, has frequently been dismissed as a youthful error in comparison with Marx s supposedly more mature work, I argue that it is fundamental to his critique of capitalism. As Sayers (p.xi) notes, After his early period, Marx did not often use the term it and much other Hegelian language is for the most part abandoned. Nevertheless, the concept of alienation is implicit throughout Marx s work, and it continues to provide a major basis for his understanding of capitalism and for his critique of the impact of the market . It is important to relate Marx s philosophical project back to the always implicit notion of alienation as a set of relations between people and as a mode of being in the material world specific to capital(ism), otherwise there is a risk of overlooking the human relationships that underpin the capitalist mode of production. As Ollman () points out, By dismissing the essential human relations, the basic relations of alienation which underly capitalist production, its surface relations become everything (p.202). So, in dismissing the human relationships that maintain a given mode of production, it is reified thus, any critique that does not take this into consideration fails to address the matter ... It s no surprise that when the Marquis meets his grim end, it is at the hands of the father of the boy he ran over. A second character of questionable integrity in the story is Madame Defarge, the wife of Monsieur Defarge, who is an avid participant in the revolution. While Monsieur Defarge believes that the reformation is a noble cause and wants to see a change in the social and political system, Madame Defarge s reasons for supporting the revolution are more personal. It is revealed later in the book that Madame Defarge was the younger sister of a peasant girl that the Marquis raped. This instilled a hatred of the aristocracy in her from a young age. It seems that Madame Defarge s main motive is revenge, and eventually this is the cause of her death. When going to murder the Marquis nephew s wife and daughter, she gets into a fight with the girl s nanny and is accidentally killed. This book is historically significant because it used the perspective of the French Revolution to reflect on social inequality in Britain. As Dickens put it at the beginning of his novel It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. While the clergy and nobles in France were getting richer and didn t have to pay taxes, the poor were starving from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Korea And Japan s Current Relationship Investigation Despite Korea and Japan s current relationship that is cordial to a certain degree, the effect of the brutal regime Japan established on Korea is yet a contentious issue. Bruce Cumings, an American historian of East Asia claims, Koreans never saw the Japanese rule as anything but illegitimate and humiliating, and this commonly held belief exists for a reason. During the Japanese occupation, thousands of comfort women, students, and civilians were tormented and tortured by the Japanese; however, this crucial period of time shaped Korea s future significantly. It is therefore vital to question what exactly Korea benefited from the Japanese occupation, and consider whether the positive outcomes outweighs the negative. Was it really colonialism, or could the years be considered as a time of modernization? Perhaps it was both, or perhaps there exists a very fine line between the two beliefs. Many evidences manifest Korea s development in various essential aspects such as education, tenancy, industrialization, and modernization in communication and transportation, but there are also evidences proving that the occupation was rather unfavorable. Although many argue that the arduous period of 35 years for the Korean civilians served rather an auspicious time for Korea s future, when weighing both sides of the argument, Korea in truth did not benefit significantly during the occupation. Inner cordoning is where the main forensic examination takes place whereas the outer cordoning is used to prevent the public from entering. Cordoning is important as it keeps the public out of the crime scene, so that evidence cannot get tampered with or contaminated, tents are also put over crime scenes which are outside to avoid people and press looking in on the crime scene and protect evidence from the weather elements and animals which may accidently tamper with evidence. Without cordoning the forensic officers wouldn t have any privacy from the public which could interfere and contaminate evidence. Once the crime scene is cordoned off, a common approach path is established, whereby stepping stones are placed to prevent cross contamination. This is important to establish a common approach path because without one evidence could become contaminated or destroyed for example if a forensic officer accidently stood on a footprint or a patch of blood, therefore spreading the blood around the crime scene, making it harder for a hypothesis to be established. The Importance Of Art In Schools Bob Bryant the Executive Director of Fine Arts for Katy ISD in 2000, emphasises the importance of utilizing art in schools curriculums: The arts are what make us most human, most complete as people. The arts cannot be learned through occasional or random exposure any more than math or science can (Bryant). Art is a way of expression and leads to acquiring a deeper understanding of the details , presented to us, in life. Why is that on the first day of preschool, teachers teach through the help of art? The foundation of our learning is through art. Creativity is the most exuberant and imaginative as our early stages of life. Creativity can neither be contained nor limited. Art is an outlet used for people to show who they are. Not only does art the pivot of one s individualism, but it is also kindred with intercultural relationships. Traditional pieces of art are passed down from each generation to carry out a group s heritage. Since art is an essential, integral part in a student s academic learning, schools should make art classes mandatory. Students should be engaged and willing to learn more about what they are learning. With art there is no need for you to be good at it. Art is depended only on the artist himself/herself. If students view art as just another subject then they are missing the academic value art gives. Students have said that art should be viewed as an extracurricular activity or exploratory classes. Art goes beyond having artistic value and surpasses the idea of one s own limits. Some people see art as an elective class, or a hobby class. Introduction Sandwich panels has been widely used in different kinds of constructions nowadays, though sandwich technology was confined almost entirely in aerospace applications before 1960s. From that time, their characteristics such as high strength to weight ratio and energy efficient started to attract engineers attention, and many research and studies enables them to be used safely in modern constructions. While sandwich panels can be made by the combination of a variety of materials, the structure of them always shares a same pattern. Two relatively thin and strong facings on both side, and a relatively light and thick core materials in the middle. It is also worth to notice that the shape of facings can be flat or profiled to satisfy different situations. Commonly used facing materials can be stainless steel, aluminum, wood, plastic and concrete, and their core materials may be made of rubber, different kinds of polymers and mineral wool. Another special way to make core is to produce a honeycomb core, and it can be even made by paper. The range of choices of facing and core materials gives a flexibility in use of sandwich panels. It is even more uncommon to find a female character in literature that is presented as an equal to the men around her. In William Congreve s The Way of the World he plays on the similarities of both his female and male characters to establish just how much of an issue gender really is because though their actions might be similar, the consequences are not. The most important fact that was overlooked in class was the true nature of Mirabell and Millamant s relationship. One question never broached in discussion was, why all the plotting in the first place? If Mirabell truly loved Millamant like he claimed, why did he need to fight so hard to get the money she was expecting from her aunt? There s no evident reason why they couldn t have lived without such money or her aunt s blessing and yet it seems as if Mirabell practically refuses to marry Millamant without her inheritance. Millamant, the man, uses his dominance to get her to agree because it seems he will only marry her if he gets her money as well. The most apparent treatment of Sal s Aunt as something less than an equal comes at the end of part one. Sal has just returned from his first trip west. He is tired. He has been starving for three days now and of course eats everything in the house. Then his Aunt s few extensive lines in the entire novel occur, and in a decidedly motherly fashion she says Poor little Salvatore . She has fulfilled Sal s entire need of her. A slight twist on this is the character of Terry. Though only in the book a little while, she has relatively lengthy dialogue (for a woman) and a very significant role.
