Music Therapy And Autism
trouble with emotion recognition and the fact that the music helps them feel the emotion is extremely
beneficial. An activity would be for the music therapist to play a happy song and show pictures of
faces or their own face of emotions such as happy or excited, and have the child do the same. The
child can then feel the emotion of the music, see what a happy face looks like, and then also do the
happy face on their own. This can be done for sad, or scary of any type of emotion one can get with
music. One last type of activity would be to help with language development. Music is a very good
way to express language and emotions. So one activity would be for the music therapist to have a song

I knew about music therapy before my paper because I was actually going to major in it for college. It
is interesting because I honestly knew so little on how and what music therapists really do in their
sessions. One thing I learned and found extremely interesting was how music therapy can help
children with autism identify emotions. Music therapy can help individuals identify the correct
emotions and expressions of themselves and others around them. An example is if the music therapist
plays a sad song, the child will internally feel a little sad inside, they can sing words or say
expressions that relate to sadness, and then they can look in the mirror and see their own sad face
while also looking at the music therapists sad face (Music Therapy Center of California, 2005, p. 4). I
thought it was so interesting to know that music can help children understand emotions. Music therapy
can help to lessen negative self stimulation and it can increase participation and social skills among
peers in more acceptable ways (American Music Therapy Association, 2012, p.1). Another big thing I
learned from my research is how much music therapy can help a child with autism s language skills.
Music therapy can help children who do not have verbal language express themselves and
communicate. The music can also let them participate freely. The connection between the actual music
and the interaction of play, such as listening, taking turns and responding helps them with their
communication skills (American Music Therapy Association, 2012, p.1). Some personal experiences
that I can account for is when I volunteered for a musical theater production called Razzle Dazzle.
This was a music production with adults with disabilities. Their disabilities ranged from Down
syndrome, to autism, to simply just an intellectual disability. One man by the name of UNKNOWN,
was a dancer in our show.

Beta Rebellion Essay
4chan.org is a community filled with every type of individual one could imagine, all hidden behind
computer screens under anonymity. A person can say or do almost anything in one post, and then be a
completely different person in the next. Obviously this would attract many deviant minded individuals
who could express themselves without regret. Although 4chan is widely diverse, the majority of the
social movements are aided by the random subcategory of the site, also known as /b/. /b/ s makeup is
almost entirely teenage to middle aged Caucasian males who reside near the lower end of the
economic spectrum. There are millions of people involved in this community, yet only some are brave
enough to physically involve themselves in the social movement known as the Beta Rebellion, or the
Beta Uprising. The entire intent of the Beta Rebellion is to rebel against the social norms associated
with attractiveness, wealth, education etc. Turner and Killian would be very interested in the acts of
violence that the members of the Beta Rebellion took part in. The daring souls that committed acts of
violence in the name of 4chan are most likely well educated, normally socially adjusted and left
leaning atheists who suffer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

zeal, religious or atheist drive. There is no grand, overarching theme or logical goal. This is pure,

The San Andreas Fault and its role in Plate Tectonics and Earthquake Prediction
The San Andreas Fault is one of the most widely studied faults in the world. Scientists use an array of
methods in collecting data and providing analysis of fault characteristics both past and present.
Presently there are many differing hypothesis and models used to describe crustal movements and
deformation within the Pacific and North American plate boundary. Historical earthquakes along this
fault have proven to be rather large and devastating. This is important since the San Andreas Fault
runs along many highly populated areas throughout Northern and Southern California. Through
further research and analysis of this fault system scientists hope to solve ... Show more content on

The Loma Prieta earthquake occurred on October 17, 1989 at 5:04 p.m. It had a moment magnitude of
6.9, and lasted 15 to 20 seconds. The epicenter was near Loma Prieta, and this earthquake again
caused severe damage to the San Francisco Bay Area, this time claiming 63 lives but almost 4,000
people were injured as a result of the earthquake.
The earthquakes above give a brief glimpse into the importance of analyzing past and present fault
configurations. If scientists could make a breakthrough in this area perhaps we could better predict
earthquake activity and better prepare ourselves if it is deemed a potential disaster is looming.
Methods of Analysis
Scientist are struggling to come up with a widely accepted model that will explain the role of non
vertical strike slip fault segments, crustal movement and deformation within Pacific North American
plate boundary. Multiple methods of analysis are being used; some of which are described below. *
Measurements of Geologic uplift and slip rates in many areas of the San Andreas Fault a detailed
record of strike slip activity is provided. By studying the sediments deposited in a given area and
comparing them to an established age control it is possible to determine the rates and timing of
changes of tectonic deformation. * Velocity Fields and Pole of Rotation Using the Southern California

Introduction
Melanoma is a serious type of skin cancer, causing up to 75% cancer related deaths and is usually
occurs due to exposure to UV rays of the sun. The chances are increased with sunburn episodes
especially during childhood. It developed from the pigment cells known as melanocytes, a layer of
cells producing melanin which protects against the damaging rays of the sun. Sometimes, these
pigment cells increase in size and become cancerous melanoma. It didn t show any particular
symptoms, however, it is related to the changes associated with moles, gives ABCDE warning signs

The Human Resource Development Partner And Training Manager
As the human resource development partner and training manager, I was contacted by JetBlue to
develop a detailed lesson plan for their newest addition to their family. JetBlue recently hired thirty
new reservation agents to help with their growing business. A lesson plan is a detailed plan of action to
guide the trainer throughout the process that intends to take the trainee from step A to Z. This plan
must be developed in advanced so that the trainer is prepared for the information that must be taught
including: the content to be taught; how much time is required for each lesson; what method will be
used to teach the information; what type of training materials are needed; the location of the training;
and how the training will be evaluated (Werner DeSimone, 2012). Before the lesson plan can be
developed, information is needed related to the organizational history of JetBlue along with the job
responsibilities for the reservation agents. JetBlue Airlines, the fifth largest in the United States,
houses their main headquarters in Long Island, NY with corporate offices residing in Cottonwood

Vasodilator Therapy
The treatment options for NOMI are medical management and emergency surgery. If complications
such as secondary peritonitis and sepsis co exist, the treatment plan should be tailored accordingly.
Other existing complications and incidental findings for treatment regarding Mr. S. s case will be
covered in this section.
Medical Management. Most cases of CI are resolved without surgical intervention in the absence of
perforation or necrosis (Brandt et al., 2014, p. 36). Treatment starts with removing the possible cause
of vasoconstriction or treating hypotension. To improve mesenteric perfusion, infusion of vasodilators
such as papaverine may be beneficial (Tilsed et al., 2016, p. 262). Vasodilator therapy is
contraindicated if surgical intervention is indicated, which will be discussed below. Papaverine is
chosen over other vasodilator agents because studies found that it reduced mortality rates in the setting
of NOMI (Tilsed et al., 2016, p. 262). Drugs that may cause vasoconstriction or contradict include
digitalis, kayexalate, NO Xplode, and nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (Brandt et al.,

Cmsgt Colon-Lopez s Carnivore Leadership
CMSgt Colon Lopez displays the characteristics of a visionary leader by charging leaders to set the
example for our airmen and by creating a need for change in people s minds. In his article titled
Carnivore Leadership, he uses full range leadership, specifically, the application of idealized influence
in order to lead airmen through tough times. He does this by charging leaders with setting the example
for our airmen, which is part of what the full range leadership lesson discuses by portraying the leader
as a role model. According to the Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education [BCEE] (2016d),
idealized influence is the component of transformational behavior that portrays the leader as a role
model...if you model the core values and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, he applies part of the change management process, specifically the unfreezing stage, by
initially creating a felt need for change. Chief Colon Lopez (2013) discusses being always physically
ready and displaying a proper military image as well as donning the uniform right, including the
physical training uniform as a symbol of loyalty and commitment to service. These are all principles
that display what a leader with idealized influenced should do. In other words as it is also known talk
the talk and walk the walk or actually doing what we preach. Chief Colon Lopez (2013) notes, Let
your expectations be known, all while leading from the front and setting the pace (p. 6). He is
charging the leaders to make sure that the airmen know what is expected of them as well as to go out
and be the example for them by setting the pace and let them emulate you. This reflects what an
idealized influenced leader should do. Chief Colon Lopez is trying to change the way our culture
thinks and looks at our standards of physical training and dress and appearance. To do this one of the
first processes that we must take is to unfreeze which is the fist step to apply change. This is intended
to motivate subordinates and help them get ready for change by creating a felt need for such

Media Content Effects on Society
Introduction Initially, media were mainly used for educational and informative purposes. However as
time went by, this boundary was getting blurred, since today media are also used as an entertainment.
One of the most influential events in history of media is probably the invention of television.
Thereafter, in less than one decade, from 1946 to 1955, TV was a part of home to 65% of Americans.
Singaporean novelist, Jess C. Scott, said People are sheep. TV is the shepherd. (Literary Heroin
(Gluttony): A Twilight Parody, 2012). This is unfortunately true, young generation is obsessed with
television nowadays. Statistics claims that time spent in front of TV by young people, aged between 8

In 1991 Runnymede Trust Report introduced a concept islamophobia and defined it as an unfriendly
attitude towards Muslims, and hence the fear and hatred of all or majority of Muslims (Islamophobia
Research Documentation Project). An apparent example might be Russia Today s (RT) report about
Californian veteran who arranged an explosion of Detroit s largest mosque, while there were more
than 500 people inside. In Detroit, he stopped in a bar for a drink and told about his intensions to bar
employee, who followed him, wrote down his car plate number, and told the local police about it.
Fortunately, authorities found his car with different kinds of explosives right outside the Islamic
Center. As RT reporter mentioned, The mainstream media has completely ignored this story. But now
imagine, if the same thing would happened, but the perpetrator was a muslim man. His mug shot
would be on every TV screen, every hour. Economics Advertisement is probably one of the best ways
to manipulate costumer to buy something or do something. There are numerous ways of manipulating
media consumers minds. People always watch TV, listen to radio, read newspapers, and, of course, see
plenty of commercials. Television is a very helpful medium in selling products, especially when
commercials are scheduled efficiently. For example, young children usually watch TV in the morning,

How To Write A Lab Report On The Effect Of A Chemical...
The purpose of the lab is to study the effect of a chemical reaction, on the change in mass.
Procedure:
1.Place Alka Seltzer tablet into bottle cap.
2.Pour approximately â…“ of bottle volume of water into the Coca Cola bottle.
3.Using a scale, mass the bottle with water and the cap with the tablet.
4.Combine the two reactants by inserting the tablet into the bottle and by quickly screwing the bottle
cap onto the bottle.
5.After the reaction occurs, mass the newly dissolved solution.
6.Record the data.
Materials:
Alka Seltzer Tablet
Water
Coca Cola bottle with bottle cap
Scale
Data:
Data Table:
Mass of Substances
Substance Coca Cola bottle with water and Alka Seltzer tablet (before reactions) Newly dissolved
solution (after reaction)
Mass (measured in grams) 193.4 grams 193.4 grams
Qualitative Data The solution fizzed as the alka seltzer was added to the water, until it was fully
dissolved. The chemical reaction took place for approximately 45 seconds before the alka seltzer
tablet was fully dissolved. The once clear water became a muddy white shade, and numerous bubbles
emerged.
Analysis:
1.The alka seltzer tablet was a white solid that was smooth, soft, brittle, chalky, and yet quite durable.
The tablet in our reaction was broken into half the normal tablet size, massing at 0.7 grams. On the
contrary, water is a smooth clear liquid. It is sometimes called the universal solvent due to its ability to
dissolve an assortment of substances, including alka seltzer. Water s ph is 7 and is neutral, It boils at
212 degrees fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius).
2.The mass of the substance prior and after the reaction was the same, 193.4 grams (seen in data
table). The mass did not change after the reaction because no matter was gained or lost. The reaction
changed the chemical composition of the substance. However, all throughout the change, the particles
of matter remained trapped inside the bottle. The atoms and the structures were just rearranged and
atoms cannot be created or destroyed. Nothing was created or destroyed, just moved so the mass
would naturally stay the same. That is why the mass remained the same, even as different states of
matter or new

A Report On The Marine Corps
A month after graduating high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. In less than a year
after that, I found myself speeding in a Humvee on a dirt road in Habbiniyah, Iraq, just a mile of the
Euphrates River. Our mission was to assist a Marine Reconnaissance unit in securing insurgent
weapon caches. I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my veins, as I was ready to tackle my first
major op. My truck, along with another, responded to the recon unit when they radioed for help to
load a weapons cache. As we sped over to the site, an IED exploded and ripped apart the engine of the
following truck. The vehicle contained my squad leader, two marines, and our squad s only medic. As
a combat lifesaver (CLS), my secondary mission kicked in. My instincts were to assess the casualties,
triage, and treat the wounded. We were fortunate they only suffered concussions, with the gunner
having minor lacerations to the face. After dressing the wound, a MEDEVAC was secured to transport
them back to base. Within minutes of the helicopter leaving, another explosion was heard where the
cache was located. We rushed to the scene, only to see a truck engulfed in flames. When I reached the
casualty collection point, I was updated on what occurred. The truck hit a landmine as they were
backing onto the road, injuring everyone near the vehicle. Most of the passengers got out, but one was
unconscious and trapped inside. Much to my dismay, the Marine was my team leader. I fought

Informative Speech On The Black Sox Scandal
General Purpose: I will inform the class about an event in history.
Specific Purpose: I would like to inform people on the 1919 Black Sox Scandal in Major League
Baseball.
Introduction
Attention Getter: In 2008 the New York Giants won the Super Bowl by defeating the previously
unbeaten New England Patriots in what most sports fans call one of the greatest upsets in sports
history. What would you think if I told you the Patriots lost the game on purpose? They didn t, but in
1919 eight members of the Chicago White Sox conspired to intentionally lose the World Series against
the Cincinnati Reds in what people now refer to as the Black Sox Scandal.
Speaker Credibility:
My uncle is a huge sports buff and he s often talked to me about this specific scandal. I remember
growing up and still hearing how upset this scandal made him. Its something that still prevalent in
todays sports.
Relate the topic to the audience:
You all probably have watched sports at some time and it should be very interesting for you guys to
know about some drama within the sports industry.
Specific purpose:
Today I want to share with you the story of the black sox scandal of 1919.
Preview of Main Points:
I will talk to you about why the Whitesoxs were the favorites, why the Whitesoxs players didn t like
their management, and how that affected how baseball changed his management.
Body
A. Transition: Heading into the World Series the White Sox were heavy favorites, and people in both
cities believed they would make quick work of the Reds.
I. Throughout the time leading up to the 1919 World Series, reporters in both Chicago and Cincinnati
spoke about how good the World Series would be, and the odds makers listed the White Sox as heavy
favorites.
A. The former MLB pitcher Cristy Mathewson, predicted the best played series in years .
1. He gave the edge on pitching to the Reds, but believed the White Sox offense and experience gave
them a better chance at victory.
2. He also pointed to the fact the Sox played in a better league and had a tougher road to the series,
making them ready for a fight
B. Gamblers also made the White Sox heavy favorites in the World Series.

High Student Education And Student Performance
Simon Sinek (2009) wrote that people don t buy WHAT you do, they buy WHY you do it (p. 41).
Educators are not selling a product in the conventional sense, but the message still resonates. WHY is
just a belief, HOWs are the actions we take to realize that belief and WHATs are the results of those
actions (Sinek, 2009, p. 137). The relationship among academic standards, effective instruction, and
student performance fits the model that Sinek describes as the golden circle. The reason that educators
do what they do is student performance. As a nation we demand that all students perform at a high
level, and there are severe consequences both tangible and intangible when they do not. The actions
that educators take to realize high student performance can be described as effective instruction. Our
communities expect that every student will perform at high levels if the quality of classroom
instruction is of high caliber. Academic standards are what educators do; the standards dictate the
scope, sequence, and measures of instruction. Our legislators have codified what educators should do
in the classroom in an attempt to strengthen our education system for all constituents. Sinek visualized
the golden circle as a set of concentric circles with why at the center, how surrounding why , and what
encompassing both how and why. The relationship among standards, instruction, and performance can
be visualized in the same way (see Figure 1).

Opportunities: Although it has fallen behind globally, the strong branding of Starbucks makes it an
excellent candidate for expansion in new markets. The success of in home brewing machines such as
Keurig is another great opportunity for the company. Starbucks has recently had success offering new
products, although they should be cautious of deviating too much from its core product, this is a great
source of also can use economies of scale to purchase. Starbucks is known for its high quality coffee,
and that quality comes with a price (David Campbell, 2011). Threats: The main threat facing
Starbucks is its competitors such as McDonald s McCafe coffee which offers quality products at much
lower prices than the coffee giant. During periods of economic recession consumers often switch to
more frugal spending including in many cases luxury such as specialty coffee. Single cup coffee
machines offer less expensive home brewers, although as Starbucks offers single serve coffee for these
home brewers, it takes away from its primary business of coffeehouses (David Campbell, 2011).

Needed Education For The Hemodialysis Staff
Needed Education for the Hemodialysis Staff: Death and Dying
I have been a Registered Nurse for almost twenty years specializing in Nephrology Nursing for the
last ten. Working with the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patient has been very rewarding;
however, if one is not prepared, it can lead to professional exhaustion because of the extremely high
number of patient expirations (Lee King, 2014). The inability of the kidneys to function properly in
this particular chronic disease requires the dialysis staff to provide life sustaining treatment usually
three or four times per week to rid fluids and other impurities from the patient s blood. This treatment
requires highly technical training; but that instruction, unfortunately, does not prepare the associate
with the knowledge for talking about death or even coping with death when it happens to their patient.
Professional Organization
I am an active member of the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) and have been with
this organization since 2004, upon first becoming part of the dialysis community. I chose ANNA
because of the nearness of the local chapter and the generous benefits offered to its members. Some of
the benefits I enjoy are the annual subscription to the bimonthly Nephrology Nursing Journal, the

Flint Water Crisis Who knew that Flints water could be deadly? Everyone should be allowed to have
the same clean water to bathe in, drink, cook with, and to have fun in. Unfortunately, residents in Flint
could not do this for quite some time. These residents were bathing and drinking from this water
before the founding of high lead levels in it. Not only was it because of the high lead levels, but the
pipes were very old as well. Due to actions made by the city council this caused a lot of problems for
the residents in the city of Flint. This effected children, pregnant women, and the elderly the most.
Many lawsuits were filed against the city of Flint. It was so serious to the point that Governor Snyder
had to declare a state of emergency. This took place January 5th of 2016. High levels of lead in the
water and old pipes lead to lawsuits, the sickness of Flint residents, and the city of Flint not doing their
job. Before the water crisis, Flint was receiving water from Detroit s water pipes which gave out very
healthy water. Detroit had enough water to share with other cities. Doing this was not free though and
it was not very cheap. Flint had to pay Detroit in order to use the water. After so long, Detroit s water
system had begun to cost too much for Flint. Flint then switched to another water system. The Flint
city council voted to switch their supply of water from Detroit to the Karegnondi Water

ABSTRACT Scientists all across the world have used model organisms to study genetics. These
organisms are selected based off of easily noted physical characteristics, their small sizes and
relatively short generation time, and also being readily available to use and tractable. That is why
Drosophila melanogaster is a great model organisms because it fits all these characteristics. I propose

melanogaster flies were not yet adults, but in their pupa stage, so the first day of the experiment we
made two culture vials by first placing about 1.5 cm of flakes along with about four grains of yeast
into each vial. Then, with a glass pipette, a solution of water and 1% propionic acid is added to the
flakes and yeast to hydrate them. This will cause the flakes and yeast to turn blue, and the solution is
added until it is a consistent bright blue color where no isolated flakes are visible (it is helpful to mash
up the flakes and yeast). Once the necessary color is established, the vials need to sit for about eight to
ten hours. If whenever, at any time during the experiment, the media cracks or has a faded color, the
fly solution is to be added once more to rehydrate the media. After the media is made, a net is folded
lengthwise first and then placed into the vial in a shape of a U so that flies will be able to pupate.
Finally, the vials were labeled with a vial number according to the cross setup, the date made, our

The Theory Of A Paradigm Shift
Traditionally, the scientific community viewed progress developing cumulatively within a framework
of accepted facts. However in The Structure of Scientific Revolution, Thomas S. Kuhn argues science
also advances episodically rather than only continuously. Kuhn creates the concept of paradigm shifts
that changed science by transforming fundamental structures. Although Kuhn only attributes
paradigms shifts to natural sciences, many have applied this idea to other fields. In Discipline and
Punish, Michel Foucault analyzes the rapid shifts in penal systems and the larger social implications
of such change. Foucault attributes the rise of prisons due to modifications in perceptions about
punishment and power. These reformations mirror paradigm shifts, since they fundamentally change
existing frameworks. Both Kuhn and Foucault demonstrate the importance of structural changes in the
history of ideas. To prove this claim, I will explain Kuhn s idea of a paradigm shift and relate it to
Foucault s analysis of how modern prisons emerged. In order to understand paradigm shifts, one must
look at normal science and how its impact on the scientific community. Kuhn defines normal science
as research firmly based upon one or more past scientific achievements, achievements that some
particular scientific community acknowledges for a time as supplying the foundation for its further
practice (Kuhn 10). Normal science builds facts and knowledge within a set of guidelines, or
paradigms.

The Importance Of Species Diversity
Introduction A key component of any ecosystem on Earth is the presence of plants. Within these
plants, variation and diversity are abundant. Plants can vary in many characteristics, such as leaf
structure, height, bark structure, and diameter at breast height. The culmination of this variety among
plants is termed the biodiversity of plants, which encompasses three realms: species diversity, genetic
diversity, and ecosystem diversity. Species diversity pertains to the variety of species in a specific
ecosystem. Genetic diversity refers to variation in specific traits among individuals of the same
species. Finally, ecosystem diversity refers to the variation of ecosystems in a specific area. For
purposes of this study, we will only focus on species diversity. Studying species diversity of plants
entails measuring the amount and size of different species in a given area. The importance of this type
of study stretches far beyond observation and results. Species diversity among plants in an ecosystem
is vital to the sustainability of that ecosystem. An ecosystem with greater species diversity uses its
resources more efficiently, making it more productive. In addition, greater plant diversity leads to
greater community biomass due to reduced nutrient loss and increased carbon reserves (Tilman and
Lehman, 1997). Our study primarily focuses on the species diversity of trees at the Case Western
Reserve University farm. More specifically, the area of interest is the wooded area to

Platypus Vs Constitution
What do a platypus and the Constitution of the United States have in common? There have never been
and will never be anything like them again. Of course, for the platypus, that is obvious because God
created all animals uniquely. But the Constitution is a different story. It was the first of its kind. No
country had ever attempted a government like it before. So what makes it special? It was the blueprint
for a democratic republic, and it actually worked. The Constitution has one main pillar that has
supported it for the last 2 centuries. This is its precise balance of the power held by the government.
To accomplish this, the Constitution specifically states what powers Congress and the president have.

The Hukou System Is The Door Guard Of The Command Economy
The hukou system is the door guard of the command economy. Discuss.
Introduction
Hukou is a household registration system that the government uses it to control migration of the
population (Zhang, 29). Simply put, hukou is a migration control system. Typologically speaking,
hukou is an official identification system that records a resident s presence including his or her name,
birth, economic power and rank, employment status, and other relevant information. The
establishment of the PRC (People s Republic of China) Regulations on Household Registration in
1958 classifies the population into two types Agriculture and non agriculture hukou. This dual
classification determines one s entitlements to state provided goods and services. Hukou ... Show

Indeed, it is possible. The government can use a complex and traditional way to allocate the resources
and social welfare within the country, in the meantime, maintain its control to individuals. However,
without the enforcement of the hukou system, meaning that the hukou system is not a door guard of
the command economy, the economy would develop in a relatively less efficiency and a less
convenient way. Obstruction may happen, as the government would require doing a lot of complex
work in allocating the resources and social welfares. Nevertheless, one has to understand that
production, investment, prices, and incomes determine centrally by the government under the
command economic system. The hukou system not only separates the population into two categories
but also regulates internal migration. Consider of that, the hukou system becomes a perfect choice in
implementing a command economic system. This is because the hukou system not only ease
government s burden but also curb the growth of the urban population; restricting rural residents from
moving into urban centres, where places usually have a better living environments. As a door guard,
the hukou system is convenience for government to launch new policy while keep facilitating a

Denver Department Stores Essay
Denver Department Stores, a Colorado retail store chain, is an entity that was suffering from the
effects of decreased sales volume. Jim Barton, the supervisor of four departments within the main
location in Denver, was struggling with developing a process to improve the store s sales. Barton
identified with the notion that the decrease in sales volume was a simple matter of a slowdown in the
economic landscape, and that the downturn would effect all stores in the retail business. However,
Barton s superior, Mr. Cornwall, the general merchandiser of Denver Department Stores, told Barton
that some stores have experienced a 15% gain in recent sales. Cornwall made it clear that he expected
Barton s segments to have sales equal to the other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mr. Barton can be defined as a Type B person. As noted previously, he views the sales decline as a
result of just one problem: a bad economy. He is correct that certain economic factors contribute in
consumers choosing certain goods over another, but he allows this view to block his ability to work
through a solution that might increase sales.
As suggested earlier, Denver Department Stores has been experiencing declining sales over a period
of a few months, though the actual reason why this is happening is unknown. A general consensus of
the employees is that there have been fewer customers recently, however, management has placed the
blame on the employees for not working hard enough to make a sale. Initially, as sales began to
decline, employees were somewhat social, and appear to have spent more time speaking with
customers. To remedy the issue of falling sales revenue, management has implemented a tally card
system to encourage the employees to work harder at making sales.
With the tally card system, division of labor was lost. Employees of all levels and all departments
were provided the same goal of making sales a priority. This included not only regular employees, but
also department heads. Putting out and straightening up stock items was pushed aside, leaving the
store and backroom looking cluttered, and provided a more cutthroat work environment for
employees. In addition to the poor division of labor, the tally card system

The Reform Is Called System Of Social Protection And The...
In today s society life expectancy at birth is much higher than before. In Mexico the life expectancy at
birth is less than the United States. Mexico s life expectancy average is 74.6 years and in the United
States the average life expectancy is 78.8 years. The reason Mexico has a lower life expectancy has to
do with the healthcare system and the non communicable diseases like diabetes. It is the opposite in
the United States; Mexican Americans have a longer life expectancy than the Mexicans living in
Mexico. About fifty million Mexicans are uninsured and Mexico is trying to fix that by creating a
health care system reform. The reform is called System of Social Protection in Health (SSPH); it was
created to insure new financial rules for public health care. Also, to have community services and
provide personal health care. The funding used for the reform comes from federal taxes and some
states give contributions. The new SSPH was passed in April of 2003 and it was effective as of
January 1, 2004. The reason for the reform was to establish Universal Health Care in Mexico by 2010
(Frenk, 2006, 1528). Mexico has achieved Universal Health Care but it is still not enough for the poor
communities. The poor communities now have health insurance but it is not effective because they do
not receive the same quality of care. The community does not receive enough funding which means
not enough medication to provide. Individuals are more prone to receive medical services from

Social Justice
Justice in a Capitalist Society
Justice basically advocating for individuals to have what is due to them. As a result, it becomes easy to
achieve fairness and impartiality in dealing with political, economic and social issues. Therefore,
social justice can be described as the promotion of a fair society by calling fighting injustices and also
upholding diversity. This can be observed in a society where people exhibit common humanity and all
have equal access to treatment, social services and equitable allocation of resources. This sort of
society condemns discrimination in the strongest terms possible, there is no prejudice, gender bias,
religious persecution, and ethnic profiling. According to the John Rawl s theory, inequalities in

Additionally, the sorrow that Tita felt was also unintentionally transferred to others. . Specifically the

moment they took their first bite of the cake, everyone was flooded with a great wave of
longing...Mama Elena, who hadn t shed a single tear over her husband s death, was sobbing silently.
But the weeping was just the first symptom of a strange intoxication an acute attack of pain and
frustration that seized the guests and scattered them across the patio and the grounds and in the
bathrooms, all of them wailing over lost love (Esquivel 39). The tears affected everyone at the
wedding banquet with longing for lost loves, so much so that they become physically sick. They were
literally love sick and Tita was responsible even though she had no idea what she had just done. In the
same manner, even though Tita didn t actually make the hot chocolate from story s title Like water for

Decompression Sickness Essay
Decompression sickness also known as the bends is an illness that can affect divers who are in
situations that involve rapidly decreasing pressure around the body. Under any pressure nitrogen and
oxygen is absorbed by the body. When a diver descends in water the pressure around them increases
by 1ATM for every ten metres which means more nitrogen is absorbed than normal. This phenomenon
is explained by Henry s Law. During decent and while divers are on the bottom the diver is
continually absorbing nitrogen into the tissues until the pressure in the tissues is equivalent to the
external pressure of the surroundings. This is when a person s tissues are saturated and cannot absorb
any more nitrogen. When the diver ascends slowly the nitrogen

A fundamental strategic decision has to be made immediately as to whether to employ a uniform
marketing mix as part of a global strategy standardise or whether to adjust the marketing mix to take
account of the unique characteristics of each local market adapt . Standardisation involves the offering
of identical product line at identical prices through identical distribution systems, supported by
identical promotional programmes in several different countries.
The arguments however for standardisation suggest that if you go through the process of adapting the
product to local markets it does little but add to the overall cost of producing the product and weakens
the brand on the global scale. In today s global world, where consumers travel more, watch satellite

Fieldwork Process Analysis
According to Williams and Menendez (2015) fieldwork process comprises of three factors that create
momentum; results oriented action, awareness of observations, and other practices to generate new
behaviors (p. 175). Although, fieldwork is a great strategy to create momentum it is important not to
assign excessive fieldwork to the client (Williams Menendez, 2015). The purpose of fieldwork or
homework is to produce affirmative energy (momentum) between the client and the coach. Moreover,
it maintains the client motivated, driven, and focus resulting in a positive attitude helping the client
achieving his/her goal.
As a future coach, I believe that helping clients keep the momentum throughout the coaching process
is vital to the success of the clients. Having and maintaining a proactive relationship with the coach is

INFLUENCE OF POPULATION MAKE-UPAND GROWTH TO THE
HISTORY...
The westward movement gained momentum rapidly after the Revolution. The frontier advance,
slowed by the Indian uprisings, was quickly resumed after 1815 when Britain no longer gave support
to various Indian tribes. The availability of cheap land that could be purchased on credit because of the
Harrison Land Law made the areas west of the Appalachians to the Rockies very appealing. The
movement can be likened to a procession of settlement. The first settlers were hunters, traders and
explorers. After them, farmers began to settle the land to give the region stability for the United States.
By 1820, there were 6 persons per square mile in the east of the Mississippi. As new people came into
the lands, they went further and further west ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Representative James Tallmadge of New York introduced an amendment to the Missouri statehood bill
that would have 1) prohibited the further introduction of slaves into Missouri and 2) would have freed
at the age of 25 all children of slaves born in Missouri after its admission of statehood. Sharp angry
debate over the rights of Congress to legislate on the slavery issue ensued. It was the first time the
issue of whether or not slavery was good for the United States was discussed in Congress. It became
apparent in the debate that the balance of Free State representation and slave state representation in the
Senate would be critical in other debates. The Free states already had more voted in the House. With
the Tallmadge Amendment, the South feared that the prohibition of slavery by Congress in Missouri
would set a precedent to eventually lead to the absolute prohibition of slavery in the United States.
The Tallmadge Amendment passed the House but was deadlocked in the Senate. The first break in the
debate towards a solution began in 1820 when Maine applied for statehood. The essential provisions
of the Missouri Compromise provided: 1) that Missouri be admitted as a slave state and Maine be
admitted as a free state and 2) that the territory north of the 36 30° (Missouri s southern border) be
forever free. This permitted new states admitted south of this line to become slave states. This
appeared to be a settlement to the debate until Missouri admitted a constitution

Selfishness In The World Is Too Much With Us
Conquer Selfishness
Addressing one of the world s worst problems, the poem The World Is Too Much With Us tells a great
warning. Even being written in 1802, William Wordsworth s poem still applies to our day and age
because of repeating trends. However dark or gloomy the poem got, Wordsworth showed there is light
in the end of the tunnel if we heed his warning and do something about it. Seeking to change the norm
of our tenancy to be selfish, the poet dared to say the world was out of tune with nature and life itself.
The people of the world need to recognize that nature is yelling out to us for something greater than
just average everyday living. Warning us to help nature, not trash it or our lives, Wordsworth
continues tells ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The title The World Is Too Much With Us literally means the poet cannot handle the earth anymore
because how secular it has become. The world refers to the profane part of earth, and too much with
us just means we have been around it so long we do not even recognize how bad we have become.
Furthermore, the tone of the poem is very demanding of it s reader because of how forced his
communication is. Even confusing in some parts, the main message about being too secular comes
across directly in every line. Making sure his warning radiated, leaving an impact, Wordsworth said he
would rather change his religion to a pagan, so that way he could see something divine going on.
Though there are many parts of the poem where great thought has to be put into it, the message is still
clear as glass, and the title follows the theme

Chaco Canyon Essay
Chaco Canyon hi my name is Andres answer my quest New Mexico I went to Chaco Canyon
Chaco Canyon is a historical site that is often forgotten but is still an amazing place to know about.
What was the history, the culture and why did the Chacoans build such immense structures that were
not occupied year round.
The Chacoans were a civilization that lasted from the 800s to the 1100s and were living across New
Mexico. They were an agricultural society that their main food source were the three sisters, corn,
beans, and squash. They also supplemented their diet with any animals they could catch.
In the late 800s Pueblo Bonito, Una Vida, and Peñasco Blanco were constructed, followed by Hungo
Pavi, Chetro Ketl, Pueblo Alto, and others. By 1050, Chaco had become the ceremonial,
administrative, and economic center ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was important because it told the Chacoans when to plant their crops and harvest them.
Other archaeologists think that the great houses were a center for trade due to the fact that they found
items from as far as Central America such as parrot feathers and abalone which is a type of shell.
The puzzling thing is that there is not a lot of organic waste in the refuse piles which means that the
Native Americans that we were living there we re not there all the time.
we still do not know why the ancestral puebloans left Chaco Canyon and we probably never know for
sure. But it is still a place that many should visit at least once in their life.
my sources were the Chaco Canyon movie and the National Park Service website
(https://www.nps.gov/chcu/index.htm)
I chose this site because I thought it would be easier due to the fact that we watch that movie and I
already had previous knowledge. Also I thought you would really be amazing to see these structures or
at least what remains of

Theme Of First Love By William Clare
William Shakespeare s sonnet 116 The Marriage of True Minds is one of his most famous poem that
he ever written. The main theme of the poem is about true love and showing how the author
disseminated his thoughts about the elevated quality of love.
The author started his first quatrain with the statement Let me not to the marriage of true minds . With
the declaration, the readers may surmise that the poem is referring to a married couple. Yet, the author
is metaphorically used the phrase to indicate the theme of the poem true love. Importantly, we noticed
minds has been chosen as the symbol for their love instead of heart or body . The author chose minds
because it defines an understanding couple or soul mates we may assume; they ... Show more content

In Clare s eyes, love is dark and detrimental; love can bring death to you and dominates your body.
The contrast of midnight and noonday emphasises how negative he is to life after the heartbreak. She
uses him as an entertainment, deadly pale indicates she rejected his feeling and makes him fall in love
once again blood rushed to my face without having any choice. Moreover, the used of clay to describe
him supports the idea of his life and future are in her hand. The dullness of clay suggests the happy
ending of him with Mary Joyce could never

of its eye, barely any fur, wood chips in the little chunks of fur he had and boogers in its nose. That
shows that he cared for it and wanted it to be alive. So he took it home and cared for it in the little time
he could. But of course

The European Colonization Of Africa
The European colonization of Africa, also known as the Scramble for Africa, Partition of Africa, or
Conquest of Africa, occurred between the 1870s and 1900s, and was the invasion, occupation,
colonization, and annexation of African territory by European powers during a period of New
Imperialism. European control of the continent increased from 10 percent (1870) to 90 percent (1914),
with only three territories, Saguia el Hamra, which was later integrated into Spanish Sahara, Ethiopia
and Liberia remaining independent of Europe s control. There were many reasons for the European
colonization of Africa, including economic and political motives, with the Berlin Conference serving
as a catalyst. Africans resisted the European invasions of their lands, with the two main methods of
opposition were guerilla warfare and direct military engagement. European influence on Africa still
remains today, though these influences are generally negative and hurt Africa s overall development.
The imperatives of capitalist industrialization, including the call for guaranteed sources of raw
materials, especially copper, cotton, rubber, tea, and tin (European consumers had become accustomed
to, and thus depended on these resources), and the search for guaranteed markets and profitable
investment outlets, which territories like the gold and diamond rich Egypt and South Africa provided,
caused the European conquest for Africa. Therefore the primary reason for European colonization in
Africa was

  • 2. Music Therapy And Autism trouble with emotion recognition and the fact that the music helps them feel the emotion is extremely beneficial. An activity would be for the music therapist to play a happy song and show pictures of faces or their own face of emotions such as happy or excited, and have the child do the same. The child can then feel the emotion of the music, see what a happy face looks like, and then also do the happy face on their own. This can be done for sad, or scary of any type of emotion one can get with music. One last type of activity would be to help with language development. Music is a very good way to express language and emotions. So one activity would be for the music therapist to have a song and have instructions to go with the song such as: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I knew about music therapy before my paper because I was actually going to major in it for college. It is interesting because I honestly knew so little on how and what music therapists really do in their sessions. One thing I learned and found extremely interesting was how music therapy can help children with autism identify emotions. Music therapy can help individuals identify the correct emotions and expressions of themselves and others around them. An example is if the music therapist plays a sad song, the child will internally feel a little sad inside, they can sing words or say expressions that relate to sadness, and then they can look in the mirror and see their own sad face while also looking at the music therapists sad face (Music Therapy Center of California, 2005, p. 4). I thought it was so interesting to know that music can help children understand emotions. Music therapy can help to lessen negative self stimulation and it can increase participation and social skills among peers in more acceptable ways (American Music Therapy Association, 2012, p.1). Another big thing I learned from my research is how much music therapy can help a child with autism s language skills. Music therapy can help children who do not have verbal language express themselves and communicate. The music can also let them participate freely. The connection between the actual music and the interaction of play, such as listening, taking turns and responding helps them with their communication skills (American Music Therapy Association, 2012, p.1). Some personal experiences that I can account for is when I volunteered for a musical theater production called Razzle Dazzle. This was a music production with adults with disabilities. Their disabilities ranged from Down syndrome, to autism, to simply just an intellectual disability. One man by the name of UNKNOWN, was a dancer in our show. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A person can say or do almost anything in one post, and then be a completely different person in the next. Obviously this would attract many deviant minded individuals who could express themselves without regret. Although 4chan is widely diverse, the majority of the social movements are aided by the random subcategory of the site, also known as /b/. /b/ s makeup is almost entirely teenage to middle aged Caucasian males who reside near the lower end of the economic spectrum. There are millions of people involved in this community, yet only some are brave enough to physically involve themselves in the social movement known as the Beta Rebellion, or the Beta Uprising. The entire intent of the Beta Rebellion is to rebel against the social norms associated with attractiveness, wealth, education etc. Turner and Killian would be very interested in the acts of violence that the members of the Beta Rebellion took part in. The San Andreas Fault and its role in Plate Tectonics and Earthquake Prediction The San Andreas Fault is one of the most widely studied faults in the world. Scientists use an array of methods in collecting data and providing analysis of fault characteristics both past and present. Presently there are many differing hypothesis and models used to describe crustal movements and deformation within the Pacific and North American plate boundary. Historical earthquakes along this fault have proven to be rather large and devastating. This is important since the San Andreas Fault runs along many highly populated areas throughout Northern and Southern California. The Loma Prieta earthquake occurred on October 17, 1989 at 5:04 p.m. It had a moment magnitude of 6.9, and lasted 15 to 20 seconds. The earthquakes above give a brief glimpse into the importance of analyzing past and present fault configurations. If scientists could make a breakthrough in this area perhaps we could better predict earthquake activity and better prepare ourselves if it is deemed a potential disaster is looming. Methods of Analysis Scientist are struggling to come up with a widely accepted model that will explain the role of non vertical strike slip fault segments, crustal movement and deformation within Pacific North American plate boundary. Multiple methods of analysis are being used; some of which are described below. * Measurements of Geologic uplift and slip rates in many areas of the San Andreas Fault a detailed record of strike slip activity is provided. Most cases of CI are resolved without surgical intervention in the absence of perforation or necrosis (Brandt et al., 2014, p. 36). Treatment starts with removing the possible cause of vasoconstriction or treating hypotension. To improve mesenteric perfusion, infusion of vasodilators such as papaverine may be beneficial (Tilsed et al., 2016, p. 262). Vasodilator therapy is contraindicated if surgical intervention is indicated, which will be discussed below. The once clear water became a muddy white shade, and numerous bubbles emerged. Analysis: 1.The alka seltzer tablet was a white solid that was smooth, soft, brittle, chalky, and yet quite durable. The tablet in our reaction was broken into half the normal tablet size, massing at 0.7 grams. On the contrary, water is a smooth clear liquid. • 13. A Report On The Marine Corps A month after graduating high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. In less than a year after that, I found myself speeding in a Humvee on a dirt road in Habbiniyah, Iraq, just a mile of the Euphrates River. Our mission was to assist a Marine Reconnaissance unit in securing insurgent weapon caches. I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my veins, as I was ready to tackle my first major op. My truck, along with another, responded to the recon unit when they radioed for help to load a weapons cache. As we sped over to the site, an IED exploded and ripped apart the engine of the following truck. The vehicle contained my squad leader, two marines, and our squad s only medic. As a combat lifesaver (CLS), my secondary mission kicked in. My instincts were to assess the casualties, triage, and treat the wounded. We were fortunate they only suffered concussions, with the gunner having minor lacerations to the face. After dressing the wound, a MEDEVAC was secured to transport them back to base. Within minutes of the helicopter leaving, another explosion was heard where the cache was located. We rushed to the scene, only to see a truck engulfed in flames. When I reached the casualty collection point, I was updated on what occurred. The truck hit a landmine as they were backing onto the road, injuring everyone near the vehicle. Most of the passengers got out, but one was unconscious and trapped inside. Much to my dismay, the Marine was my team leader. I fought ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. High Student Education And Student Performance Simon Sinek (2009) wrote that people don t buy WHAT you do, they buy WHY you do it (p. 41). Educators are not selling a product in the conventional sense, but the message still resonates. WHY is just a belief, HOWs are the actions we take to realize that belief and WHATs are the results of those actions (Sinek, 2009, p. 137). The relationship among academic standards, effective instruction, and student performance fits the model that Sinek describes as the golden circle. The reason that educators do what they do is student performance. As a nation we demand that all students perform at a high level, and there are severe consequences both tangible and intangible when they do not. The actions that educators take to realize high student performance can be described as effective instruction. Our communities expect that every student will perform at high levels if the quality of classroom instruction is of high caliber. Academic standards are what educators do; the standards dictate the scope, sequence, and measures of instruction. Our legislators have codified what educators should do in the classroom in an attempt to strengthen our education system for all constituents. Sinek visualized the golden circle as a set of concentric circles with why at the center, how surrounding why , and what encompassing both how and why. The relationship among standards, instruction, and performance can be visualized in the same way (see Figure 1). Academic Standards The question ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everyone should be allowed to have the same clean water to bathe in, drink, cook with, and to have fun in. Unfortunately, residents in Flint could not do this for quite some time. These residents were bathing and drinking from this water before the founding of high lead levels in it. Not only was it because of the high lead levels, but the pipes were very old as well. Due to actions made by the city council this caused a lot of problems for the residents in the city of Flint. This effected children, pregnant women, and the elderly the most. Many lawsuits were filed against the city of Flint. It was so serious to the point that Governor Snyder had to declare a state of emergency. This took place January 5th of 2016. High levels of lead in the water and old pipes lead to lawsuits, the sickness of Flint residents, and the city of Flint not doing their job. Before the water crisis, Flint was receiving water from Detroit s water pipes which gave out very healthy water. Detroit had enough water to share with other cities. Doing this was not free though and it was not very cheap. Flint had to pay Detroit in order to use the water. After so long, Detroit s water system had begun to cost too much for Flint. Flint then switched to another water system. The Flint city council voted to switch their supply of water from Detroit to the Karegnondi Water ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This will cause the flakes and yeast to turn blue, and the solution is added until it is a consistent bright blue color where no isolated flakes are visible (it is helpful to mash up the flakes and yeast). Once the necessary color is established, the vials need to sit for about eight to ten hours. • 23. The Theory Of A Paradigm Shift Traditionally, the scientific community viewed progress developing cumulatively within a framework of accepted facts. However in The Structure of Scientific Revolution, Thomas S. Kuhn argues science also advances episodically rather than only continuously. Kuhn creates the concept of paradigm shifts that changed science by transforming fundamental structures. Although Kuhn only attributes paradigms shifts to natural sciences, many have applied this idea to other fields. In Discipline and Punish, Michel Foucault analyzes the rapid shifts in penal systems and the larger social implications of such change. Foucault attributes the rise of prisons due to modifications in perceptions about punishment and power. These reformations mirror paradigm shifts, since they fundamentally change existing frameworks. Both Kuhn and Foucault demonstrate the importance of structural changes in the history of ideas. To prove this claim, I will explain Kuhn s idea of a paradigm shift and relate it to Foucault s analysis of how modern prisons emerged. In order to understand paradigm shifts, one must look at normal science and how its impact on the scientific community. Kuhn defines normal science as research firmly based upon one or more past scientific achievements, achievements that some particular scientific community acknowledges for a time as supplying the foundation for its further practice (Kuhn 10). Normal science builds facts and knowledge within a set of guidelines, or paradigms. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. The Importance Of Species Diversity Introduction A key component of any ecosystem on Earth is the presence of plants. Within these plants, variation and diversity are abundant. Plants can vary in many characteristics, such as leaf structure, height, bark structure, and diameter at breast height. The culmination of this variety among plants is termed the biodiversity of plants, which encompasses three realms: species diversity, genetic diversity, and ecosystem diversity. Species diversity pertains to the variety of species in a specific ecosystem. Genetic diversity refers to variation in specific traits among individuals of the same species. Finally, ecosystem diversity refers to the variation of ecosystems in a specific area. For purposes of this study, we will only focus on species diversity. Studying species diversity of plants entails measuring the amount and size of different species in a given area. The importance of this type of study stretches far beyond observation and results. Species diversity among plants in an ecosystem is vital to the sustainability of that ecosystem. An ecosystem with greater species diversity uses its resources more efficiently, making it more productive. In addition, greater plant diversity leads to greater community biomass due to reduced nutrient loss and increased carbon reserves (Tilman and Lehman, 1997). Our study primarily focuses on the species diversity of trees at the Case Western Reserve University farm. More specifically, the area of interest is the wooded area to ... He is correct that certain economic factors contribute in consumers choosing certain goods over another, but he allows this view to block his ability to work through a solution that might increase sales. As suggested earlier, Denver Department Stores has been experiencing declining sales over a period of a few months, though the actual reason why this is happening is unknown. A general consensus of the employees is that there have been fewer customers recently, however, management has placed the blame on the employees for not working hard enough to make a sale. Initially, as sales began to decline, employees were somewhat social, and appear to have spent more time speaking with customers. To remedy the issue of falling sales revenue, management has implemented a tally card system to encourage the employees to work harder at making sales. With the tally card system, division of labor was lost. Employees of all levels and all departments were provided the same goal of making sales a priority. This included not only regular employees, but also department heads. Putting out and straightening up stock items was pushed aside, leaving the store and backroom looking cluttered, and provided a more cutthroat work environment for employees. In Mexico the life expectancy at birth is less than the United States. Mexico s life expectancy average is 74.6 years and in the United States the average life expectancy is 78.8 years. The reason Mexico has a lower life expectancy has to do with the healthcare system and the non communicable diseases like diabetes. It is the opposite in the United States; Mexican Americans have a longer life expectancy than the Mexicans living in Mexico. About fifty million Mexicans are uninsured and Mexico is trying to fix that by creating a health care system reform. The reform is called System of Social Protection in Health (SSPH); it was created to insure new financial rules for public health care. Also, to have community services and provide personal health care. The funding used for the reform comes from federal taxes and some states give contributions. • 42. INFLUENCE OF POPULATION MAKE-UPAND GROWTH TO THE HISTORY... The westward movement gained momentum rapidly after the Revolution. The frontier advance, slowed by the Indian uprisings, was quickly resumed after 1815 when Britain no longer gave support to various Indian tribes. The availability of cheap land that could be purchased on credit because of the Harrison Land Law made the areas west of the Appalachians to the Rockies very appealing. The movement can be likened to a procession of settlement. The first settlers were hunters, traders and explorers. After them, farmers began to settle the land to give the region stability for the United States. By 1820, there were 6 persons per square mile in the east of the Mississippi. As new people came into the lands, they went further and further west ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Representative James Tallmadge of New York introduced an amendment to the Missouri statehood bill that would have 1) prohibited the further introduction of slaves into Missouri and 2) would have freed at the age of 25 all children of slaves born in Missouri after its admission of statehood. Sharp angry debate over the rights of Congress to legislate on the slavery issue ensued. It was the first time the issue of whether or not slavery was good for the United States was discussed in Congress. It became apparent in the debate that the balance of Free State representation and slave state representation in the Senate would be critical in other debates. The Free states already had more voted in the House. With the Tallmadge Amendment, the South feared that the prohibition of slavery by Congress in Missouri would set a precedent to eventually lead to the absolute prohibition of slavery in the United States. The Tallmadge Amendment passed the House but was deadlocked in the Senate. The first break in the debate towards a solution began in 1820 when Maine applied for statehood. The essential provisions of the Missouri Compromise provided: 1) that Missouri be admitted as a slave state and Maine be admitted as a free state and 2) that the territory north of the 36 30° (Missouri s southern border) be forever free. This permitted new states admitted south of this line to become slave states. This appeared to be a settlement to the debate until Missouri admitted a constitution ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Selfishness In The World Is Too Much With Us Conquer Selfishness Addressing one of the world s worst problems, the poem The World Is Too Much With Us tells a great warning. Even being written in 1802, William Wordsworth s poem still applies to our day and age because of repeating trends. However dark or gloomy the poem got, Wordsworth showed there is light in the end of the tunnel if we heed his warning and do something about it. Seeking to change the norm of our tenancy to be selfish, the poet dared to say the world was out of tune with nature and life itself. The people of the world need to recognize that nature is yelling out to us for something greater than just average everyday living. Warning us to help nature, not trash it or our lives, Wordsworth continues tells ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The title The World Is Too Much With Us literally means the poet cannot handle the earth anymore because how secular it has become. The world refers to the profane part of earth, and too much with us just means we have been around it so long we do not even recognize how bad we have become. Furthermore, the tone of the poem is very demanding of it s reader because of how forced his communication is. Even confusing in some parts, the main message about being too secular comes across directly in every line. Making sure his warning radiated, leaving an impact, Wordsworth said he would rather change his religion to a pagan, so that way he could see something divine going on. Though there are many parts of the poem where great thought has to be put into it, the message is still clear as glass, and the title follows the theme ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This was important because it told the Chacoans when to plant their crops and harvest them. Other archaeologists think that the great houses were a center for trade due to the fact that they found items from as far as Central America such as parrot feathers and abalone which is a type of shell. The puzzling thing is that there is not a lot of organic waste in the refuse piles which means that the Native Americans that we were living there we re not there all the time. we still do not know why the ancestral puebloans left Chaco Canyon and we probably never know for sure. But it is still a place that many should visit at least once in their life. my sources were the Chaco Canyon movie and the National Park Service website (https://www.nps.gov/chcu/index.htm) I chose this site because I thought it would be easier due to the fact that we watch that movie and I already had previous knowledge. In Clare s eyes, love is dark and detrimental; love can bring death to you and dominates your body. The contrast of midnight and noonday emphasises how negative he is to life after the heartbreak. She uses him as an entertainment, deadly pale indicates she rejected his feeling and makes him fall in love once again blood rushed to my face without having any choice. Moreover, the used of clay to describe him supports the idea of his life and future are in her hand. The dullness of clay suggests the happy ending of him with Mary Joyce could never ... • 48. The European Colonization Of Africa The European colonization of Africa, also known as the Scramble for Africa, Partition of Africa, or Conquest of Africa, occurred between the 1870s and 1900s, and was the invasion, occupation, colonization, and annexation of African territory by European powers during a period of New Imperialism. European control of the continent increased from 10 percent (1870) to 90 percent (1914), with only three territories, Saguia el Hamra, which was later integrated into Spanish Sahara, Ethiopia and Liberia remaining independent of Europe s control. There were many reasons for the European colonization of Africa, including economic and political motives, with the Berlin Conference serving as a catalyst. Africans resisted the European invasions of their lands, with the two main methods of opposition were guerilla warfare and direct military engagement. European influence on Africa still remains today, though these influences are generally negative and hurt Africa s overall development. The imperatives of capitalist industrialization, including the call for guaranteed sources of raw materials, especially copper, cotton, rubber, tea, and tin (European consumers had become accustomed to, and thus depended on these resources), and the search for guaranteed markets and profitable investment outlets, which territories like the gold and diamond rich Egypt and South Africa provided, caused the European conquest for Africa. Therefore the primary reason for European colonization in Africa was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
