The Pros And Cons Of The Death Penalty
Is the death penalty really the answer? Even though the criminal deserves the punishment of death, it
is not always what a person deserves because death is the easy way out of the crime and the methods
of killing are cruel. Some people feel that the Death Penalty should be broadened to cases such as
rape, child molesters, etc.
Execution Problems First off, some states just put people on death row and leave them there for a very,
very long amount of time. Furthermore, only 1,110 people have been executed on death row since
1973 and 4.1% of those people were innocent (Ballaro Cushman, 2016). In a state there was execution
that looked like torture because they sat there and watched the man die for 40 minutes with the lethal
injection that they had used to kill him (Newsweek Global, 2014). After another execution, they took
45 minutes to find a suitable vein on a man by just probing his arms and a leg because of his past drug
abuse. The FBI s evidence shows that the death penalty takes up large amounts of money but still does
not deter criminals(Ballaro, Cushman, 2016). In the recent past, some people in the Supreme Court
believed that the death penalty has been used in a racist manner, and could have resulted in innocent
lives being taken for things they did not do. In Arkansas, the Governor wasn t doing a very good job
setting dates for execution, so that the family and friends of the person or the person they committed
the crime against could have peace of mind either

Gas Vs Paper Chromatography
There are four different kinds of chromatography, there is gas, paper, liquid, and thin layer. Gas
chromatography is mostly used to determine the chemical composition of the unknown substances.
Thin layer is used on thin plastic or glass trays to identify the composition of pigments and chemicals.
Liquid is used to identify an unknown plant pigments and other compounds. Lastly, paper can be used
to separate the components of inks and dyes. So in this essay i will talk about two real life cases that
involve Gas and paper chromatography and
I think chromatography is beneficial to solve crimes because in my opinion it is more easier to find the
person who did the crime if it had to do with gas, plastic, paper and liquid. One real life case was

Euthanasia Is Criminal and Inmoral
Euthanasia is criminal and does not agree with the morals of people today. Ed Feinstein, senior rabbi
of Valley Beth Shalom in Encino, California states that, It [prayer] recognizes God as the one who
decides Who will live and who will die (Wood 3 added brackets). Assisted suicide is a peculiar
process and not the intended way to die. The constitution of India comments in Article 21 on the right
to life:
Right to life is a natural right embodied in Article 21 but suicide is an unnatural termination or
extinction of life and, therefore, incompatible and inconsistent with the concept of right to life . It is
the duty of the State to protect life and the physician s duty to provide care and not to harm patients. If
euthanasia is legalised, then there is a grave apprehension that the State may refuse to invest in health
(working towards Right to life). Legalised euthanasia has led to a severe decline in the quality of care
for terminally ill patients in Holland.
If euthanasia is legalized it will change the values of doctors and push them to pressure other terminal
patients into euthanasia. Euthanasia goes against the Hippocratic Oath doctors take at the beginning of
their career and places them in an unsafe environment. Lynn Pasquerella, president of Mount Holyoke
College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, who has a PhD in philosophy states, . . . health care
providers are likely to experience ever increasing moral distress over how to abide by the Hippocratic
Oath s

Coleman And Bourdieu
Three different views on social capital are particularly considered by scholars. They are the ideas of
Pierre Bourdieu, James Coleman, and Robert Putnam.
Pierre Bourdieu
A concurrently developed theory of social capital came from French Sociologist Pierre Bourdieu
(1985). Bourdieu s (1985) use of the term social capital is an explicit attempt to understand the
production of classes and class divisions. Social capital and relationships are never disconnected from
capital. Capital for Bourdieu (1985), is simultaneously economic as well as a set of power relations
that constitute a variety of realms and social interactions though normally non economic. He was
interested to find the ways to reproduce society and to understand how the supreme position of
dominant classes are retained. He could not explain this by economics alone, and he is well known for
his discussion of cultural capital. Also he tried to learn how people utilized cultural knowledge to
place them in the hierarchy. He wrote a famous book, Distinction (1984) a detailed study of middle
class taste and how they identify themselves with those who are above than them on the social ladder
and the difference from those below .
James Coleman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Social capital for him is inherently functional and social capital is whatever allows people or
institutions to act. Social capital is therefore not a mechanism, a thing, or an outcome, but
simultaneously any or all of them. Coleman sought to link the ideas of economic and sociology theory.
His way of study leads to a broader view of social capital. According to him social capital is not a
stock owned by elite groups but also the benefits of all commodities can be utilized by the
marginalized and

Significance Of Middle-Class Lifestyle In Truman Capote s...
The middle class lifestyle is no doubt the most prevalent way of living for many American citizens
today despite controversy on the basis of who is considered a middle class citizen. In Cold Blood is an
excellent portrayal of the prevalence of the middle class society lifestyle and normalities during the
1950s time period. In the 1950s, the economy was on a significant rise prior to World War II, as it
grew by a shocking 37% allowing for middle class Americans 30% more spending money
(shmoop.com). In his novel, In Cold Blood, Capote describes the Clutters characteristics and social
and economic stance to exemplify the rise of simplistic, middle class life in America. When speaking
of Mr. Clutter, He was not as rich as the richest man in Holcomb Mr. Taylor Jones... (Capote 6) Capote
emphasizes the economic status of Herb Clutter. By comparing him to the richest man in the county,
the audience can assume he is neither rich nor poor and classify his family as middle class citizens and
most anyone else in his town. Through exemplifying the economic status of the Clutters, Capote is
trying to convey to the audience the prevalence and rise of middle class citizens during the time
period. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He states, Ordinarily Mr. Clutter s mornings begin at six thirty; clanging milk pails and the whispery
chatter of the boys that brought them... (Capote 7). This excerpt from In Cold Blood depicts the
averageness of Herb Clutter s life day in and day out. At that time he was wealthy enough to own and
work on a farm but not too sophisticated to help out as opposed to budgeting for enough hired help. At
this time farming was the norm for many families and by demonstrating the life of the Clutters,
Capote emphasizes the role of farming in average people s life during this time

The Role of a Nurse
1.1
Analyse the Role of the Nurse
The complex nature of nursing means that there is no single definition that encompasses every aspect
of the role of the nurse. A nurse is required to have several attributes and skills to carry out their
everyday duties; they must show compassion, empathy, excellent communication skills both verbal
and non verbal. In some cases nurses are also required to become advocators for patients who are not
able to communicate for themselves. A nurse is also required to be non prejudice and understand and
acknowledge other cultures and beliefs, for example some religions do not believe in blood
transfusions, as a nurse it is important not to judge when faced with such a dilemma.
It is paramount that the nurse is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other member may become resentful and this could cause the team to break down.
Working under supervision is equally as important as working in a team when it comes to nursing. It is
important because a nurse is required to be competent in everything she/he does. Therefore it is
beneficial as support is provided from a senior more experienced member of staff who is able to guide
and monitor junior members of the team. Monitoring the level of care/service provided to patients and
has the simultaneous purposes of enhancing the professional functioning of the junior member(s)
(Consedine, 2004, internet).
1.3
Explain a range of ethical and moral dilemmas faced by a nurse.
Nurses face a wide range of ethical and moral dilemmas throughout their career. Ethical dilemmas are
situations in which there are conflicting moral claims. In some of these situations people do not know
what the ethically right thing to do is. They do not agree about the ethically right thing to do and often
cannot find satisfactory solutions or there are two equally unsatisfactory solutions. Or they may know
what the ethically right thing to do is, but do not want to act on this.
Do not resuscitate is becoming an increasingly common ethical dilemma. Some patients would prefer
not to be resuscitated where as others may decide otherwise. Recent cases have highlighted the
desirability to be resuscitated;

Peace in Yugoslavia From 1919 Until 1980 Essay
Peace in Yugoslavia From 1919 Until 1980
Peace in Yugoslavia meant unity. The country was a drawing together of different groups, which held
together from 1919 to the 1980. Before the First World War the Austria ruled the individual countries
of Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia as well as other countries such as Hungary as part of the Hapsburg
Empire. The other big empire was the Turkish Ottoman Empire. All the individual areas had different
ethnic groups and religions. The Croats were Roman Catholic, people living in Bosnia were mainly
Muslim, as were people living in Kosovo. Serbia was a separate independent country, ruled by its own
King. The Serb religion was Christian Orthodox.

King Peter ruled until his death in 1921, when his son, who became King Alexander I, replaced him.
King Alexander had a Government dominated by Serbs, which made all of the decisions. He refused
to listen to wishes of Slovenes and Croats and would not give them any say in decisions concerning
their regions. In 1929, Alexander changed the country s name from the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats
and the Slovenes and dismissed parliament so he could run the country as a dictatorship. He used his
Serb dominated Secret Police to deal with protests in Croatia and Slovenia. Members of other ethnic
groups were angered by the Kings dictatorship (especially the Croats who wanted more control over
their regions). A Croat resistance movement (formed as a result of the removal of parliament)
murdered Alexander during a visit to France in on 9th October 1934. He had, however, been a strong
King, with definite ideas about how he had wanted to run the country. His dictatorship unpopular as it
had been with some groups, did help hold Yugoslavia together.
Following King Alexander s assassination, his brother Prince Paul ruled the country, on behalf of his
nephew, who was too young

Martin Luther King Just Law Analysis
Justice is considered a consequence for an acted committed by another, that benefits the most amount
of people. My personal interpretation of what justice means is different from Martin Luther King, as
he describes just laws as laws that uplift personality. What he means by this is that there should be
laws in place that do not dehumanize people, whether it is done physically, socially, or legally. He
specifically touches upon justice and injustice in regards to law. He defines an injustice law as one that
degrades human personality; dehumanizing, in my own words, is the process of making a person feel
less than others or giving unequal benefits or deficits based on traits that are out of the average person
s control. On the contrary, just laws is the opposite of doing this, making it the act of evening out a
wrongdoing, and preventing such acts from occurring in the future, from a societal standpoint.
Furthermore, this includes equal opportunity and treatment in regards to traits out of our control. This
double edged sword also comes with justifying punishment for action we have control over. If an
action someone performs while exercising free will is considered by the majority to be immoral, then
it is justifiable to punish them for it. If there is no choice made by a person, how can a person justly
punish them for it? These injustices in society are the responsibility of the people, supported by
inquiry by Dr. King in his Letter From Birmingham Jail.

Araby tone
Araby, a short story from James Joyce s Dubliners, recounts an unnamed boy s transition from
childhood into adulthood, from a life filled with fantasy to all the harsh realities of life in Ireland
under British rule. The narrator of the story is the older version of the protagonist, and as a result the
prose seems far from what a child would write a preadolescent would not display such self awareness
and understanding. Further examination of the text shows that the narrator is actually embarrassed and
chagrined by the confused adoration towards his friend s older sister that marked his childhood,
creating a reflective yet fatuous tone that is developed through the utilization of literary devices such
as dramatic diction, simile, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, behind the boy s house is a wild garden [that] contained a central apple tree, a clear
allusion to the Garden of Eden. However, the image is distorted by a rusty bicycle pump that the boy
finds. He later sarcastically describes Mrs. Mercer s collecting used stamps as having some pious
purpose and notices two men [...] counting money on a salver, an action that would not be permitted in
a church as it would be viewed as crass and unholy. Ironically, the boy himself is guilty of twisting his
religion to suit his own purposes. He believes that his love for Mangan s sister is pure and holy, as
shown by his attempt to deify her in his description of her as being not only defined by light, but also
touched discreetly by the lamplight at the curved neck, which is reminiscent of the Virgin Mary in
Christian iconography. The religious imagery in Araby effectively showcases the narrator s aversion to
apotheosis and the practice of placing a person on such a pedestal. By presenting the information in
such a way, the narrator once again conveys the fatuous tone by appearing regretful of what he
believes to be his perversion of religion as a child and by portraying his actions as foolish and
unreasonable. This is accomplished by contrasting the perversion of religion surrounding the
protagonist with his deification of the object of his adulation. Because the narrator of Araby is more
mature and wiser than the

We see these features of emerging markets as symptoms of underlying market structures that share
common, important, and persistent differences from those in developed economies.
A fundamental premise of our work is that emerging markets reflect those transactional arenas where
buyers and sellers are not easily or efficiently able to come together. Ideally, every economy would
provide a range of institutions to facilitate the functioning of markets, but developing countries fall
short in a number of ways. These institutional voidsmake a market emerging and are a prime source of
the higher transaction costs and operating challenges in these markets.
By relying on outcome criteria to assess markets, managers often overlook the ways in which
emerging markets operate differently than do developed economies. Ranking the world s economies
by per capita gross domestic product would suggest that the United Arab Emirates, for example, is
among the world s most developed economies, but it is an emerging market nonetheless because of its

How Individuals Communicate Communication Is The Exchange...
How individuals communicate communication is the exchange of data among people. By a life coach
understanding his/her own style of communicating, one will go far towards making great and enduring
impressions with others. Although people have been taught to talk, compose, and read to from an early
age, individuals have gotten little, if any, preparation in listening. Active listening is a correspondence
expertise that joins both verbal and non verbal skills keeping in mind the end goal to create positive
results, by encouraging comprehension, appreciation, and compassion between individuals. Listening
actively enables a life coach to ask questions effectively, which helps the coach successfully
communicate with every one of one s clients, for they should master the viable skills of questioning.
As a coach hone the skill of actively listening and asking the right questions, they can then use those

High School Differences
How Differences in Schooling Affect Students The high school education system will be different
wherever one lives, but that should not affect how much a student learns. High schools not only need
to prepare us for college, but also for work outside of college. This is not the case in many places,
however. When taking a look at the American and German high school education systems there are
many differences and the outcomes are different because of those differences. The German high
school education system is better because of how it is set up and the American high school education
system is worse because it is not taken as seriously. In Germany, their education is taken very
seriously and is very different from what we know in America. After they graduate from elementary
school at age 10, German students have three schools to pick from which is considered their high
school. At that time, they must select from three different secondary school curricula, and their future
educational and career decisions are based on that election (Peak and Matthes 1). The three different
schools they have to choose from are Gymnasium (academic high school), Realschule (secondary
school), and Hauptschule (intermediate school). In Germany the Gymnasium school is considered to
be our high school. Students attend from ages 10 to 16, and upon graduation, are qualified for a three
year apprenticeship in a skilled labor craft (Peak and Matthes 2). After they attend one of those

The Woman In Black Play Review
On Thursday 29th September 2016, we attended a performance of The Woman in Black at the Fortune
Theatre in the West End, London. It was set in a traditional proscenium arch theatre which is situated
on an enclosed street which applies to the horror genre and the idea of isolation. The size of the theatre
was alarmingly small with compact seating, creating a sense of claustrophobia, suffocation and lack of
escape from The Woman in Black . The stage seemed diminutive with the curtain, and the
minimalistic set with old fashioned props instantly set a Victorian impression. The minimalism
conveyed how the actors could present a play without ostentatious props and keep the focus on
themselves. The monochromatic colours of the programme enhance ... Show more content on

In the rehearsal scene, there were references to the sound technician. This was a Brechtian technique
of the audience being aware of a play within a play. Most sound effects were specific and recorded,
like the city hustle and bustle, the screams and the voices when reading things aloud. However, the
one sound that stood out to me was the music box. Being the only live sound we hear, relates to the
naturalism of the nursery and how Jennet Humfrye s love for her son is infinite. Music boxes were
commonly a gift for a child, or a token of love for a partner in the Victorian times. The idea of love is
additionally demonstrated when Kipps is reading a letter alongside Stella. This shows his
remembrance of her voice and how much he misses her. The ticking of the clock at the beginning of
the play reminds the audience of a countdown, a signal that something is about to happen. This relates
to the rhythmic rocking of the chair, similar to a heartbeat, echoing around the house, resembling
Nathaniel s pulse. This again adds humanity to the nursery. When Kipps stops the chair from rocking,
everything is silent which signifies the death of Nathaniel and how in reality he is gone. Contrasting to
the naturalism, there is repetition of the Woman s screams. These created an abstract soundscape that
made the audience feel frightened, mimicking the discomforting feeling of the horror genre. The Pony
and Trap sounds came

Examples Of Sacrifice In Enrique s Journey
What would it be like to be left alone when people are needed the most? Enrique s Journey is a
biography about a young boy who is left by his mother at a young age as she tries to provide a better
life for her family in the U.S. One example of this is when Lourdes leaves Enrique at such a young
age to provide a better life for him in another country where she can do better financially. Another
example is when Enrique decides to leave Honduras even though he knows that Maria Isabel, his
girlfriend, might be pregnant. A third important event is when Maria Isabel leaves Jasmine to be with
Enrique so they can unite their family at a later time. In the biography Enrique s Journey, Sonia
Nazario shows that sometimes in order to pursue one s goals, major sacrifices must be made.
Lourdes leaves Enrique when he is just a baby so she can find better opportunities in the United States
and provide a better life for him. Nazario says, Lourdes has decided: She will go to the United States
and make money and send it home. She will be gone for one year (4). This shows Lourdes ignorance
and her positive outlook about her choice. Lourdes thinks that leaving Enrique behind is a necessary
sacrifice in order to create a better life for her son, but soon finds out that leaving Enrique as a young
boy proves to be a fatal mistake. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In the area once famous for being home to Count Dracula, that we call Transylvania, at remote village

the fact that the people here do not lay lost loved ones to rest in any sombre fashion as one might

This remarkable place is aptly dubbed the Merry Cemetery, simply because the bereaved celebrate
their lost ones with colourful crosses and the whole place reverberates with an atmosphere of

Johnny Appleseed Research Paper
American folktales are something many of us grew up hearing mom or dad read before bed. Johnny
Appleseed is a legendary hero of many of these stories, and with good reason. Based on a man named
John Chapman, an American pioneer, who wore a pan as a hat and traveled to spread apple trees and
compassion to the early Westerners. His vision was to sate hunger issues with blossoming apple trees
abounding. Wherever he went, love and peace were spread, and this is shown with his many friends;
including Native Americans, settlers, and animals! Born in Massachusetts on September 26th, 1774, as
the second child of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Chapman, John was welcomed as their first son. The place
he was born has a granite stone marker, and the street is named after him Johnny Appleseed Lane. His
father fought at Concord in 1775 as a Minuteman, and while he was off to war, Johnny s mother
passed away directly after birthing their second son, Nathaniel jr. The baby followed his mother to the
afterlife two weeks after, leaving only Elizabeth jr. and Johnny as Mr. Chapman s offspring. His father
remarried and had ten children, one of which (a second Nathaniel jr., Johnny s half brother) eventually
followed Johnny into the West in 1792. They lived nomadically ... Show more content on

he spread apple seeds everywhere he went, but the truth is that he would plant small patches of them,

raise them. He returned every few years to tend to the trees and occasionally plant more saplings in the
same area in order to further his efforts. In order to survive, he told stories to children, spread gospel

Representation Of Women In Taming Of The Shrew By William...
Written in the late 16th century during the Elizabethan era, the Taming of the Shrew is a play by
William Shakespeare. It tells the narrative of Katherine, a termagant, rebellious shrew , daughter to
father Baptista and sister to unassuming, obedient, attractive Bianca. In it, she is subjected to methods
intended to restrain her aggressive behaviour, or effectively tame her, by Petruchio, a bachelor on the
prowl for wealthy women.
Having been performed throughout the centuries to create a historical assortment of varied
adaptations, versions of Taming of the Shrew have changed in accordance with time periods and
related shifting social expectations and culture. Discussed by literary academia extensively, a
particular manifestation reflecting such changes among this cohort of portrayals is the representation
of women. Notably, a clear trend about the societal attitudes at the time of presentation of versions can
be assumed by examining and comparing the depiction of women in two adaptations; the Globe
Theatre s directed by Toby Frow in 2012, a production expressing social norms from the Elizabethan
era, and the BBC s ShakespeaRE told TV episode directed by David Richards (BBC Retold), set in
modern times. The representation of women in these plays allow it to be concluded that the social
expectations of women have progressed from domestically and professionally limiting to more
supportive and liberal over time, with a specific focus on gender equality. In spite of this,

The Cost Of The Cadillac Tax
Intentions of the Tax One of the primary goals of the Cadillac tax is to reduce the growing costs of
national health care (Lowry 2015). The government is hopeful that implementation of the Cadillac tax
will reduce overall health care expenditures and impede the growth of health care costs by
encouraging a change in consumer behavior through discouraging the provision and obtainment of
overly generous health coverage plans (Herring, 2011). Generally, individuals who are insured spend
greater amounts on health care than those who are not as they can consume greater amounts of
healthcare with a lesser personal burden. In the case that the insurance provided to an individual is
overly generous, it encourages over spending on health care due to the fact that they incur a only a
portion of costs of consumption. In this manner, the consumption of an inefficient amount of health
care is perpetuated by the provision of overly generous health care coverage. This inefficiency and
associated increase in demand for healthcare causes the price of healthcare to rise, which exacerbates
the undesirable growth in national health care costs (Gravelle, 2015). The Cadillac tax aims to
discourage the provision and obtainment of overly generous health care coverage by employers in an
effort to decrease inefficient over consumption of health care and stagnate the growth in healthcare
costs. The intent of the Cadillac tax is to alter consumer behavior to decrease the provision of

Comparing The And Hetero Junctions
3.1 Homo and Hetero junctions
When the semiconductor materials are homogeneous throughout the entire structure is called a
semiconductor homojunction. Materials used to form a homojunction will have similar energy
bandgaps, On the other hand, when two different semiconductor materials are used to form a junction,
the junction is called a semiconducror heterojunction. The hetero junction is formed with narrow
bandgap material with wide bandgap material. Figure 1 shows three possible combinations. When the
forbidden band gap of wide bandgap material completely overlaps the bandgap of narrow bandgap
materials then it is called straddling which is applicable for most of the heterojunctions. In staggered,
a fraction of wide bandgap and narrow band gap are merged tog ether. In case of broken gap there is a
bandgap itself between energy bandgaps of different semiconductor. Fig.1. different types of
heterojunction (a) straddling (b)staggered (c) broken gap
Metal semiconductor junction is an example of heterojunction. This junction can be created by
depositing a metal such as Al or Gold or Ag over a semiconductor (ptype/n type) wafer by different
deposition techniques (e beam/thermal evaporation or sputtering/CVD). Depending on the work
function of the metal, this type of junction may behave as ohmic or schottky contacts. as the name
suggests if the contact is ohmic, the current voltage relationship is linear as per Ohm s law. For ohmic
contact it is mandatory that the

clothing and most occasions dressed with much of exaggeration such as a princess or cheerleader. The
entire time while receiving treatment in the emergency room, whether being a true emergent situation

that some transvestites will expose themselves more than others with the possibility of having

Revolutions In The Cuban Revolution
Why do revolutions occur? What actors are usually involved? This are the two central questions that
both Charles Tilley and Samuel Huntington attempt to answer by examining the reoccurring patterns
of armed resistance and collective violence. Huntington and Chase both claim that revolutions are rare
events which occur because of modernization. However, Chase and Huntington both have very
different definitions of modernization, along with different models of revolutions. Chase points to
gender ideas as central to various opposition movements within the Cuban Revolution, and she
highlights the road to a revolutionary moment in which women were pivotal (Stevens 9/18/17).
Huntington s model of revolution involves a sudden explosion of political participation due to
modernization, and revolution occurs when the established order is unable to keep up with the
demands of the newly integrated groups. I feel that Tilley provides the best model of revolutions
because he does not simply attribute armed revolutions to the undefined term of modernization, but
instead focuses on the roles of omnipresent actors involved in these revolutions (these actors being;
the government, the various contenders of power, and the polity). I would argue that his argument is
more logically sound because he points to a tangible sources of power, such as a government s
coercive apparatuses, as a revolutionary barrier which must be overcome with armed resistance and a
strong support base in order for

Machiavelli as a Humanist
A humanist is defined as one who is concerned with the interests and welfare of humans. Niccolo
Machiavelli can be thought of as a humanist. Although opinions on this differ greatly depending on
whom you speak with. Machiavelli s life consists of so many examples and lessons that he has learned
throughout his life. Through my paper, I intend to examine his perception of morality based on his
political writings and life experiences. Niccolo Machiavelli was born on May 3, 1469 and died in

He used the term virtu in his book The Art of War which is a dialogue on military affairs. It describes
the great ability of a general who is able to adapt to various battlefield conditions as they present
themselves. It is said that the most vilified of political thinkers is also the one of whom it has been said
that he concentrated all his real and supreme values in what he called virtu . 6 What he meant by this
was that a prince would have to develop a different psychology than what he is used to. The new
prince is prepared to vary his conduct as the winds of fortune and changing circumstances constrain
him and not deviate from the right conduct if possible, but be should be capable of entering upon a
path of wrong doing when it becomes necessary . 7 Some ninety years ago Villari said that
Machiavelli always use the word virtue in the sense of courage and energy both for good and evil. To
Christian virtue in its more general meaning, he rather applied the term goodness, and felt much less
admiration for it than for the pagan virtue that was always fruitful of glory. 2 Although the political
life of Niccolo Machiavelli is quite interesting when analyzing his views on government and religion,
his personal life and experiences were equally a representation of him as a humanist. He was
described by some as never offensive and possessing a genuine understanding of human weakness.

The Importance Of Teachers In Waiting For Superman
Can you remember a time where you would dread going to class because of a certain teacher? Today,
teachers play an important role in how well students succeed. An effective teacher is something almost
all students have experienced. There are many teachers who have made school an exciting and fun
place. Effective teachers possess a certain passion for the subjects that they teach and they genuinely
care for the students within their school district. Those teachers have inspired us to deeply consider
lessons, to take on challenging work, to dig beyond surface meaning, to pursue careers in a particular
area of study, and to enjoy the learning process. In contrast, less fortunate children have received little
to no guidance in their educational career. There is a distinct difference on the education students
receive depending on family wealth. The film Waiting for Superman follows the lives and stories of
families from different cities, different socioeconomic statuses, and different racial backgrounds. The
purpose of following these families is to convey the fact that they are all suffering from the same
issue, failing public school systems. Davis Guggenheim includes selective interviews and statistical
animations throughout his film to express that public school systems are in need of repair.

Essay On The Gold Rush
In early 1848, cries of gold findings flooded the West. White settlers flooded the area like a hurricane
in search of riches never seen before to the common man. It was the single greatest migration of
people in a shortest amount of time. The gold rush was a very dark period in American history and it
shouldn t be celebrated; the Native American s were slaughtered in American thirst for gold
Explosions of violence from both natives and settlers were common in this environment of prejudice
and greed. Between 1850 and 1890 eighty percent of the total number of Native Americans in
California died due to murder and massacre, disease, starvation, and forced migration from their

To many Californians the mention of January 24, 1948, conveys no special meaning, nor is that date

Key Characteristics Of Muhammad And Islam In The Islamic...
Islam came to influence during the 7th century there were key characteristics that led to the Islamic
Empire becoming one of the greatest civilisations of the era. During this initial period of Islam there
were crucial elements that influenced the direction of the Islamic world. These were the emergence of
caliphates and the rise of ruling dynasties, the rapid expansion of Islamic territories through trade and
conquest, and finally the development of cultural, intellectual and scientific collaboration and
exchange.
The prophet Muhammad and Islam, brought about an age of unification for the people of the Arabian
Peninsula. The initial response to Muhammad and his teachings were slow, but saw religion replacing
kinship as the basis of a collective identity, however, he was a charismatic peacemaker who preached
the divine revelations of the one true God Allah, these would later become part of the Qur an.
Muhammad became a leader in Medina, and his followers became known as the Ummah (a single
community of believers which transcends place). The Muslim people saw Muhammad not as a divine
figure but as the perfect man , he had so completely given himself to his divine revelations that he
influenced Muslim society so fully that it enabled his people to live in harmony (Armstrong 2002,
p.24).

Negative Effects Of The Vietnam War
The Vietnam War brought an immense amount of tension and anger to the United States. Many
innocent lives of both Americans and Vietnam citizens were taken during the Vietnam War. The war
affected the United States in a predominately negative way. The spread of media, multiple bombings,
and distress in America caused such tribulation. Consequently, the Vietnam War caused more harm
than help to South Vietnam, as well as the United States.
Media emerged as a major factor in people s opinion on the war. The media showed photographs of
wounded soldiers on stretchers in Vietnam. Photograph and videos were shown to citizens, giving
them a new perspective on what was really happening in the war. Even videos of napalm drops were
recorded and Americans were finally able to view the reality of the war. Americans were shocked to
realize that this is what soldiers dealt with in Vietnam. Americans were also able to see the
environment that the soldiers had to live in as well. Vietnam was a jungle environment, which was
extremely unfamiliar to Americans. The United States participated in multiple bombings throughout
the course of the war. Operation Rolling Thunder contributed to a majority of these deaths. Operation

Internet Crimes And The Internet
Introduction
The purpose of this research is to discuss about cybercrimes also known as internet crimes. The
researcher has taken help from a number of online sources and a few books as well. Firstly, the
researcher will discuss about cybercrime, how and when it came in existence. The researcher then will
categorize cybercrimes into 2 parts, cyber abuse and cyber attacks. This in turn has a few subtopics to
follow. And lastly, the researcher will discuss prevention from these kind of attacks.
Technology has been increasing so rapidly in the past fifteen years that it has increased the use of
computers in our daily lives and in the business sector. To keep pace with the rapid increase in
technology, industries such as banking, health, education etc. are very dependent on Internet for all its
activities.
However, what is Internet? Internet is the largest wide area network (WAN) that connects millions of
computers worldwide and it is easily accessible at any corner of the world.
Since the evolution of the Internet almost 20 years back, it has gradually changed and in turn changed
our lives as well and has left a great impact on our lives.
In the earlier times, Internet was only used to search for information but now it not only contains a
library of information but has also become a means of interacting and communicating with one
another and to be able to get new ideas. In simple words, it has become a necessity in our daily lives.

The history of pay to click begun in 1996, the first known and documented version of a PPC was

Paid Search Deliverables
In paid inclusion programs, search engines and their ad feed partners guarantee that their search
engine will list pages from the advertiser s website in its index. However, paid inclusion typically does
not guarantee that the advertiser s pages will rank high. At this writing, search engines Inktomi,
AlltheWeb, and AltaVista offer paid inclusion programs.
Paid placement programs, by contrast, generally guarantee that a link to the advertiser s URL will be
delivered in the search results on a matched keyword or keywords. Location of the delivered link
generally governs the fees, so advertisers will pay more to be placed higher up the page in the search
results.
Development of pay to click site through mode of payment

advertiser must consider the potential value of a click from a given source. This value is based on the
type of individual the advertiser is

Analysis Of The Poem Aimee
Something cold dripped onto her forehead. Without opening her eyes, she could tell she was
somewhere different. The smell of dirt and grass filled her nostrils, and a cool breeze brushed her hair
off of her cheeks. More freezing liquid dripped onto her face, and her eyes flew open. She blinked,
confused. Branches of a huge oak tree stretched out above her, crisp green leaves contrasting an
overcast sky. As she sat up, she found that it wasn t just overcast, it was foggy. Though it was bright,
she could only see about 15 feet it either direction. More water dripped down from the immense oak.

Ed Feinstein, senior rabbi of Valley Beth Shalom in Encino, California states that, It [prayer] recognizes God as the one who decides Who will live and who will die (Wood 3 added brackets). Assisted suicide is a peculiar process and not the intended way to die. The constitution of India comments in Article 21 on the right to life: Right to life is a natural right embodied in Article 21 but suicide is an unnatural termination or extinction of life and, therefore, incompatible and inconsistent with the concept of right to life . It is the duty of the State to protect life and the physician s duty to provide care and not to harm patients. If euthanasia is legalised, then there is a grave apprehension that the State may refuse to invest in health (working towards Right to life). Legalised euthanasia has led to a severe decline in the quality of care for terminally ill patients in Holland. If euthanasia is legalized it will change the values of doctors and push them to pressure other terminal patients into euthanasia. Euthanasia goes against the Hippocratic Oath doctors take at the beginning of their career and places them in an unsafe environment. • 6. Coleman And Bourdieu Three different views on social capital are particularly considered by scholars. They are the ideas of Pierre Bourdieu, James Coleman, and Robert Putnam. Pierre Bourdieu A concurrently developed theory of social capital came from French Sociologist Pierre Bourdieu (1985). Bourdieu s (1985) use of the term social capital is an explicit attempt to understand the production of classes and class divisions. Social capital and relationships are never disconnected from capital. Capital for Bourdieu (1985), is simultaneously economic as well as a set of power relations that constitute a variety of realms and social interactions though normally non economic. He was interested to find the ways to reproduce society and to understand how the supreme position of dominant classes are retained. He could not explain this by economics alone, and he is well known for his discussion of cultural capital. Also he tried to learn how people utilized cultural knowledge to place them in the hierarchy. The middle class lifestyle is no doubt the most prevalent way of living for many American citizens today despite controversy on the basis of who is considered a middle class citizen. In Cold Blood is an excellent portrayal of the prevalence of the middle class society lifestyle and normalities during the 1950s time period. In the 1950s, the economy was on a significant rise prior to World War II, as it grew by a shocking 37% allowing for middle class Americans 30% more spending money (shmoop.com). My personal interpretation of what justice means is different from Martin Luther King, as he describes just laws as laws that uplift personality. What he means by this is that there should be laws in place that do not dehumanize people, whether it is done physically, socially, or legally. He specifically touches upon justice and injustice in regards to law. He defines an injustice law as one that degrades human personality; dehumanizing, in my own words, is the process of making a person feel less than others or giving unequal benefits or deficits based on traits that are out of the average person s control. On the contrary, just laws is the opposite of doing this, making it the act of evening out a wrongdoing, and preventing such acts from occurring in the future, from a societal standpoint. Furthermore, this includes equal opportunity and treatment in regards to traits out of our control. This double edged sword also comes with justifying punishment for action we have control over. If an action someone performs while exercising free will is considered by the majority to be immoral, then it is justifiable to punish them for it. If there is no choice made by a person, how can a person justly punish them for it? However, the image is distorted by a rusty bicycle pump that the boy finds. He later sarcastically describes Mrs. Mercer s collecting used stamps as having some pious purpose and notices two men [...] counting money on a salver, an action that would not be permitted in a church as it would be viewed as crass and unholy. Ironically, the boy himself is guilty of twisting his religion to suit his own purposes. He believes that his love for Mangan s sister is pure and holy, as shown by his attempt to deify her in his description of her as being not only defined by light, but also touched discreetly by the lamplight at the curved neck, which is reminiscent of the Virgin Mary in Christian iconography. The religious imagery in Araby effectively showcases the narrator s aversion to apotheosis and the practice of placing a person on such a pedestal. By presenting the information in such a way, the narrator once again conveys the fatuous tone by appearing regretful of what he believes to be his perversion of religion as a child and by portraying his actions as foolish and unreasonable. This is accomplished by contrasting the perversion of religion surrounding the protagonist with his deification of the object of his adulation. High School Differences How Differences in Schooling Affect Students The high school education system will be different wherever one lives, but that should not affect how much a student learns. High schools not only need to prepare us for college, but also for work outside of college. This is not the case in many places, however. When taking a look at the American and German high school education systems there are many differences and the outcomes are different because of those differences. Being the only live sound we hear, relates to the naturalism of the nursery and how Jennet Humfrye s love for her son is infinite. Music boxes were commonly a gift for a child, or a token of love for a partner in the Victorian times. The idea of love is additionally demonstrated when Kipps is reading a letter alongside Stella. This shows his remembrance of her voice and how much he misses her. The ticking of the clock at the beginning of the play reminds the audience of a countdown, a signal that something is about to happen. This relates to the rhythmic rocking of the chair, similar to a heartbeat, echoing around the house, resembling Nathaniel s pulse. This again adds humanity to the nursery. When Kipps stops the chair from rocking, everything is silent which signifies the death of Nathaniel and how in reality he is gone. Wherever he went, love and peace were spread, and this is shown with his many friends; including Native Americans, settlers, and animals! Born in Massachusetts on September 26th, 1774, as the second child of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Chapman, John was welcomed as their first son. The place he was born has a granite stone marker, and the street is named after him Johnny Appleseed Lane. His father fought at Concord in 1775 as a Minuteman, and while he was off to war, Johnny s mother passed away directly after birthing their second son, Nathaniel jr. The baby followed his mother to the afterlife two weeks after, leaving only Elizabeth jr. and Johnny as Mr. Chapman s offspring. His father remarried and had ten children, one of which (a second Nathaniel jr., Johnny s half brother) eventually followed Johnny into the West in 1792. They lived nomadically ... • 24. Representation Of Women In Taming Of The Shrew By William... Written in the late 16th century during the Elizabethan era, the Taming of the Shrew is a play by William Shakespeare. It tells the narrative of Katherine, a termagant, rebellious shrew , daughter to father Baptista and sister to unassuming, obedient, attractive Bianca. In it, she is subjected to methods intended to restrain her aggressive behaviour, or effectively tame her, by Petruchio, a bachelor on the prowl for wealthy women. Having been performed throughout the centuries to create a historical assortment of varied adaptations, versions of Taming of the Shrew have changed in accordance with time periods and related shifting social expectations and culture. Discussed by literary academia extensively, a particular manifestation reflecting such changes among this cohort of portrayals is the representation of women. Notably, a clear trend about the societal attitudes at the time of presentation of versions can be assumed by examining and comparing the depiction of women in two adaptations; the Globe Theatre s directed by Toby Frow in 2012, a production expressing social norms from the Elizabethan era, and the BBC s ShakespeaRE told TV episode directed by David Richards (BBC Retold), set in modern times. The representation of women in these plays allow it to be concluded that the social expectations of women have progressed from domestically and professionally limiting to more supportive and liberal over time, with a specific focus on gender equality. • 25. The Cost Of The Cadillac Tax Intentions of the Tax One of the primary goals of the Cadillac tax is to reduce the growing costs of national health care (Lowry 2015). The government is hopeful that implementation of the Cadillac tax will reduce overall health care expenditures and impede the growth of health care costs by encouraging a change in consumer behavior through discouraging the provision and obtainment of overly generous health coverage plans (Herring, 2011). Generally, individuals who are insured spend greater amounts on health care than those who are not as they can consume greater amounts of healthcare with a lesser personal burden. In the case that the insurance provided to an individual is overly generous, it encourages over spending on health care due to the fact that they incur a only a portion of costs of consumption. In this manner, the consumption of an inefficient amount of health care is perpetuated by the provision of overly generous health care coverage. This inefficiency and associated increase in demand for healthcare causes the price of healthcare to rise, which exacerbates the undesirable growth in national health care costs (Gravelle, 2015). The Cadillac tax aims to discourage the provision and obtainment of overly generous health care coverage by employers in an effort to decrease inefficient over consumption of health care and stagnate the growth in healthcare costs. • 26. Comparing The And Hetero Junctions 3.1 Homo and Hetero junctions When the semiconductor materials are homogeneous throughout the entire structure is called a semiconductor homojunction. Materials used to form a homojunction will have similar energy bandgaps, On the other hand, when two different semiconductor materials are used to form a junction, the junction is called a semiconducror heterojunction. The hetero junction is formed with narrow bandgap material with wide bandgap material. Figure 1 shows three possible combinations. When the forbidden band gap of wide bandgap material completely overlaps the bandgap of narrow bandgap materials then it is called straddling which is applicable for most of the heterojunctions. In staggered, a fraction of wide bandgap and narrow band gap are merged tog ether. In case of broken gap there is a bandgap itself between energy bandgaps of different semiconductor. Fig.1. different types of heterojunction (a) straddling (b)staggered (c) broken gap Metal semiconductor junction is an example of heterojunction. This junction can be created by depositing a metal such as Al or Gold or Ag over a semiconductor (ptype/n type) wafer by different deposition techniques (e beam/thermal evaporation or sputtering/CVD). Depending on the work function of the metal, this type of junction may behave as ohmic or schottky contacts. as the name suggests if the contact is ohmic, the current voltage relationship is linear as per Ohm s law. Most transvestites hide their fetish with the probability of embarrassment if revealed. • 29. Revolutions In The Cuban Revolution Why do revolutions occur? What actors are usually involved? This are the two central questions that both Charles Tilley and Samuel Huntington attempt to answer by examining the reoccurring patterns of armed resistance and collective violence. Huntington and Chase both claim that revolutions are rare events which occur because of modernization. However, Chase and Huntington both have very different definitions of modernization, along with different models of revolutions. Chase points to gender ideas as central to various opposition movements within the Cuban Revolution, and she highlights the road to a revolutionary moment in which women were pivotal (Stevens 9/18/17). Huntington s model of revolution involves a sudden explosion of political participation due to modernization, and revolution occurs when the established order is unable to keep up with the demands of the newly integrated groups. I feel that Tilley provides the best model of revolutions because he does not simply attribute armed revolutions to the undefined term of modernization, but instead focuses on the roles of omnipresent actors involved in these revolutions (these actors being; the government, the various contenders of power, and the polity). I would argue that his argument is more logically sound because he points to a tangible sources of power, such as a government s coercive apparatuses, as a revolutionary barrier which must be overcome with armed resistance and a strong support base in order for ... Today, teachers play an important role in how well students succeed. An effective teacher is something almost all students have experienced. There are many teachers who have made school an exciting and fun place. Effective teachers possess a certain passion for the subjects that they teach and they genuinely care for the students within their school district. Those teachers have inspired us to deeply consider lessons, to take on challenging work, to dig beyond surface meaning, to pursue careers in a particular area of study, and to enjoy the learning process. In contrast, less fortunate children have received little to no guidance in their educational career. There is a distinct difference on the education students receive depending on family wealth. • 34. Key Characteristics Of Muhammad And Islam In The Islamic... Islam came to influence during the 7th century there were key characteristics that led to the Islamic Empire becoming one of the greatest civilisations of the era. During this initial period of Islam there were crucial elements that influenced the direction of the Islamic world. These were the emergence of caliphates and the rise of ruling dynasties, the rapid expansion of Islamic territories through trade and conquest, and finally the development of cultural, intellectual and scientific collaboration and exchange. The prophet Muhammad and Islam, brought about an age of unification for the people of the Arabian Peninsula. The initial response to Muhammad and his teachings were slow, but saw religion replacing kinship as the basis of a collective identity, however, he was a charismatic peacemaker who preached the divine revelations of the one true God Allah, these would later become part of the Qur an. Muhammad became a leader in Medina, and his followers became known as the Ummah (a single community of believers which transcends place). The Muslim people saw Muhammad not as a divine figure but as the perfect man , he had so completely given himself to his divine revelations that he influenced Muslim society so fully that it enabled his people to live in harmony (Armstrong 2002, p.24).
