Netflix Film Analysis
When Netflix announced they were not just pivoting into original episodic content, but also acquiring
and streaming feature length films in 2015, the industry held its breath. After gaining traction with a
small theatrical release of 2015 s Beasts of No Nation, which should have been an Oscar contender,
but was ignored by the Academy (though rewarded by SAG, BAFTA, and other organizations), the
media conglomerate has gone on to premiere several dozen feature length films and documentaries in
the last two years.
And maybe you didn t realize that. The problem with all of these acquisitions has been that Netflix
largely uploads and buries them on their service. For example, they acquired the Sundance Grand Jury
Prize award winner from 2017, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These Superpigs are a pig/hippo hybrid with the apparent loyalty of a dog, who will be sent to the 26
Mirando Corporation locations to be raised and grown. A winner would be declared in 2017.
In 2017, on a remote South Korean homestead, 14 year old Mija (Ahn Seo hyun) lives with her
grandfather Hee bong (Byun Hee bong) and one of the superpigs, named Okja. Okja and Mija have
formed a special bond and spend nearly every waking moment together. One morning, a number of
people emerge on the top of her quiet, surreptitious mountainous abode. The first is washed up
television star Johnny Wilcox (Jake Gyllenhaal), who has been hired by the Mirando Corporation to
promote the Superpig program worldwide. His diva like tendencies are on display immediately, and
his production team arranges a quick shoot which leads to Okja being taken away. As it turns out, she
is the winner.
What results from here is a wild and free wheeling adventure film that sees Mija run away to try and
save Okja, who is on her way to New York City for the big reveal. As Mirando employees work on
exporting Okja to the states, an activist group the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) swoop in and try to
liberate the animal from Mirando s clutches. While it is no spoiler to reveal that all roads lead back to
New York, we also have lots of surprises along the way Bong s film veering in and out of cultural
critique, goofy comedy, and over the top characterizations that keep us appropriately

Dr Jekyll And Hyde Gender Analysis
Another perspective to consider when exploring the absence of women in Jekyll and Hyde is the
curious descriptions regarding Hyde. Doane and Hodges state that many descriptions of Hyde s
physical characteristics are congruent with cultural descriptions of femininity (69). As a result,
perhaps women are not seen much in the novella because Hyde operates as the sole feminine
representative. He is small in stature like women typically are, walks with a quick light step swinging
his arms instead of walking with a heavy step, and weeps like a women. Many critics argue that Hyde
s size and even his walking pattern represent outward manifestations of his morality. In regards to
size, his small stature references stunted growth in the area of moral ... Show more content on

When Utterson and Poole break into Jekyll s laboratory, they find a surprisingly domestic scene: quiet
lamplight, a good fire glowing and chattering on the hearth, the kettle singing its thin strain, a drawer
or two open, papers neatly set forth on the business table, and nearer the fire, things laid out for tea
(Stevenson 33). Instead of finding Jekyll, they find Hyde on the floor dead, making it seem like Hyde
was the one who set up this warm scene. A likely explanation for this setup could be that a maid set
everything up for her master; however, all of the servants and maids are locked out of the laboratory.
Utterson describes all of Jekyll s servants and maids in the hall entranceway huddled together like a
flock of sheep , and Poole explains that, for a week now, Jekyll has locked himself in his laboratory
and not left once, scaring everyone who works in the household (Stevenson 28). Considering that no
one is able to enter his laboratory in order to arrange this domestic scene, Hyde is the only character
who could have organized the room accordingly. For a man of immoral grounds, this is an odd task,
especially considering his usually violent actions. Additionally, this setting is not important in the big
scheme of things and is immediately overlooked after Utterson and Poole find Hyde s dead body in
the room. For the past week, Jekyll has been

Peoria Notre Dame High School Research Paper
The best day I have ever had at Peoria Notre Dame High School was September eleventh of 2014
because it was my birthday. That morning I was so happy and filled with excitement. I came into
school and everyone was happy to see me. Even people I barely knew were happy to greet me with a
sincere birthday congratulations. It was awesome because I had so many new friends and all of us
were joyful on that day. Throughout all my days here at Peoria Notre Dame I look forward to lunch.
That day was no exception especially because it was chicken Thursday. When I got to my seat at lunch
I was soon after greeted by the smiling face of Mrs.Mattarelli. She had in her hands not one, but two
cookie cakes. I was thrilled for two reasons. The first was

The Artist Pablo Picasso
The artist Pablo Picasso is quite possibly one of the most famous artists to ever live. While he was one
of the greatest painters, he was also a man of many talents. He was a painter, sculptor, printmaker,
ceramicist and stage designer. Picasso was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, as
well as the co founder of Cubism. His creativity, empathy, and mastery in the arts has led him to
become such a revolutionary artist. He devoted his life to painting and artistic production for the
simple fact of wanting to contribute to modern art in the 20th century. Picasso was born Pablo Diego
José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad
Martyr Patricio Clito Ruíz y Picasso on October 25th, 1881 in Málaga, Spain. Picasso s parents were
Don José Ruiz Blasco and Doña María Picasso y López. Picasso s father was a painter and art teacher.
Picasso was introduced to art by his father. Picasso showed a passion and displayed a prodigious talent
for drawing at an early age. His father decided to formally train him, at the age of seven, in the art of
oil painting and figure drawing. Picasso was a precocious boy whose budding talent grew to
overshadow that of his father. By the time he was 13.
The painting, Les Demoiselles d Avignon, was painted by Picasso in the year 1907 and is the most
famous example of cubism painting, as it is considered the first cubist piece of artwork. With this
piece Picasso marked an extensive break from the traditional characteristics of painting, he abandoned
all aspects of traditional art with this piece. He veered far from the representation and form often seen
in traditional art at the time. He depicted five naked women prostitutes in a brothel, but the women
were far from realistic. Picasso had drawn them nothing like the traditional paintings of women. Their
bodies were made up of flat, splintered planes rather than rounded volumes, their eyes were drawn
lopsided, and their faces were off putting. With this painting Picasso did things that no other artist had
contemplated at the time. This visual violent piece evokes and liberates eroticism. This piece and its
unbinding desire was unprecedented in art and in the culture of that

Analysis of Salman Rushdie s Midnight s Children and...
Transitions of place, time, and character are key to the storytelling in Salman Rushdie s Midnight s
Children and Virginia Woolfe s Mrs. Dalloway . Rushdie explores the History, Nationalism and
Hybridism of the nation of India after they became independent of Great Britain. Woolfe comments
heavily on English society more through her description of her characters, and the weaving of time
and place is an effective way to telling the stories of her characters as we follow them through a single
day. This essay will compare in three passages from Midnight s Children the effectiveness of
transitioning from place and time to the way Woolfe did so in Mrs. Dalloway . Furthermore, it will
explore why each passage is a good demonstration of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This parallels the narrative structure of the novel as being circular, discontinuous and digressive. The
same can easily be said for Mrs Dalloway as the novel almost jarringly weaves through many points
of view. This fragmentation appropriates the concept of history in Midnight s Children , which was
developed by colonizers. History works for a particular class of ideology, and therefore it will be
contaminated, oblique and subjective. In Mrs. Dalloway the characters themselves are subjective
commentaries on English society, and they have been subjectively contaminated by Woolfe s opinions
of who they represent.
The functionality of history is grounded in the simple assumption that life is shaped like a story.
Whereas Woolfe admittedly wrote in an experimental style that was more of a slice of life than a
traditionally shaped story with a beginning, middle, and end. For Saleem, who is buffeted by too much
history , it is his memory which creates his own history. The same is true of everyone in Mrs.
Dalloway . Memory, as well as fruit, is being saved from the corruption of the clocks . This quote
could have easily been in Mrs. Dalloway, particularly when Clarissa reacted to the suicide of Septimus
and seemed to fear the aging brought on by ticking clocks. Yet, for Rushdie, it is not based on the
universal empty time that has been conceptualized by the colonizers. Notions of time and space are
integrated into both novels.
The novel critiques

This study depends on cross sectional data because a time series data will misstate the data, so it is
unique in its inputs of data. This paper is organized as follows: The first section defines earnings
management, and describes the incentives of its practices by commercial banks, in addition to that, it
explores the methods of practice and how these practices can be defected. The second section explores
the most related prior researches. The third section presents the hypotheses of the current research.
The fourth section describes the followed methodology in the current study. The fifth section presents
the results, while the fifth explores the findings. Literature Review and Prior Researches Many people

what earnings management constitutes and why it takes place is important for all users of accounting
information. This study highlights the different aspects of earnings management, so it identifies
clearly this term, and presents the incentives standing behind its practice. Moreover, the current study
determines the methods of earnings management used by firms, and explores how these practices can
be detected. Earnings management is defined as the intentional misstatement of earnings leading to

Essay On How To Shoot A Baseball Bat
One of the hardest things to do for nearly any athlete is to hit a baseball. Some of the greatest sports
heroes ever, couldn t but the bat on the ball no matter how hard they tried. Even players talented
enough to make it professionally, have an on base success rate of less than 33%.
Hitting a baseball is difficult, but consistent contact can be made if you swing properly. Here are some
three tips on how to swing a baseball bat correctly, great suggestions for any level of competition.
Solid Foundation
A good baseball swing starts with your base. You need a good foundation to productively make
contact with a baseball. When your foundation is unstable, your swing will be erratic; as well will be
the results. Work on stable stance that establishes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The component they all have in common is sturdiness. Feet are spaced approximately twice the width
of your hips, with slightly bent knees and your body weight shifted towards the balls of your feet.
Open Your Hips
This is one of the more difficult aspects of properly swinging at a baseball. When your hips open to
soon, you will be behind the pitch. Opening your hips too early will cause you to swing over the ball,
or be too far out in front.
Rotating your hips at precisely the exact instant the bat makes contact with the ball is how to generate
the most power from your swing. The most accomplished hitters refer to this concept, as launching
your hips. The stance and hip rotation are where a hitter s power is generated.
Can t Hit What You Can t See
Tracking the ball is one aspect of hitting a baseball. It cannot stop at any point during your swing. If
your eyes drift, so will your head. When you pull your head off the ball, you will compromise your
swing.
Most of the time you ll miss the pitch completely, or at best make poor contact. To keep you head on
the ball, never take your eyes off the ball. The best hitters profess to actually seeing the ball make
contact with that bat. Good hitters insist, you cannot hit what you cannot see, so focus on the ball to
help keep your head

Argumentative Essay On Doctor Faustus
Paper 2 Death is a topic that many people often like to avoid thinking about as well as avoid
discussing. I believe that this is due to the fact that death is the only thing that we can be certain of in
this life and it is in fact inevitable. Everyone lives up to the point of death and death is a natural part of
life that many people do not want to come to terms with. Many people disregard the thought of death,
whether it be hiding behind their religious views, cultural beliefs, or just overall spending their life
living in denial. Often times death is thought of as an inconvenience, causing one of the most
important events that occur in our life to be ignored. There are many reasons as to why people will not

Knowledge is power, and power absolutely delights Doctor Faustus. Although, there was one thing
that Faustus did not know anything about, necromancy. Necromancy is also known as black magic,
which refers to the dead. His main purpose of turning to black magic was so that he could have more
power. Faustus wishes to become a demigod, which is a minor deity. Becoming a demigod, and
learning about black magic will give Doctor Faustus the ultimate power and knowledge that he is
craving to have.
It is very ironic in my opinion that Doctor Faustus put so much time and effort into receiving his
doctorate degree in Theology, and then essentially throws it all away to learn about necromancy,
which is overall the complete opposite teachings of theology. I believe that his decision was
influenced based upon the simple fact that Faustus knew everything that there was to know about
Theology, as well as God. Therefore, he could not except that this was all that there was to life. He
craved to learn about something that he knew many other individuals, including himself, did not know
about or truly understand, being death.
Death is a part of life that many individuals refuse to understand because of the fact that many people
do not feel as if they are ready to die. If they have not lived a full life, or have not done everything that
they wanted to accomplish, death is not something they want to come face to face with or even think
of. Death makes us open our eyes to all of the

Pros And Cons Of Blockchain
Blockchain, the future of transactions. It worries many people with confusion, but others embrace it as
the future. In the financial markets, trades happen in a fraction of a second. But actually exchanging
the assets and payments can take days, involving multiple banks and clearinghouses. That can lead to
errors, delays, added costs and unnecessary risks ( Blockchain: The New Technology ). Todays system
is inefficient. It can take days for a transaction to be verified, in that amount of time stocks could
plummet and the market could crash. The extra time makes for more unnecessary risks. Blockchain is

affecting the physical and neurocognitive growth and development of younger children and affecting
the women of reproductive age. 1, 2, 3 According to WHO, in 2011, there were approximately two

pathophysiology of iron deficiency anemia is iron exhaustion from the blood leading to reduced

The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
The realm of fantasy literature is categorized by authors use of sweeping, alien, settings and the desire
to escape from the banal vistas of Earth s familiar geography. What happens when readers delve
deeper into the chasms of unknown ravines, sweep through foreign valleys, scale faraway mountains,
and realize that these alien backdrops are closely related to their own home planet? In The Inheritance
Cycle, author Christopher Paolini introduces readers to the beautiful Alagaësia: a world populated by
humans, elves, magic wielders, dwarves, urgals, and dragon riders. The physical features of Alagaësia
and the native lands inhabited by the above listed peoples are closely tied together. The natives
parallel the characteristics of the lands they inhabit from geologic creation to geographic location.
Christopher Paolini s imagined landscape is heavily influenced by the geological features of his native
Paradise Valley, Montana1. His Inheritance Cycle features identifiable passages where Alagaësia s
geography essentially duplicates that of Earth s. The creation process of geologic features directly
impacts the characterizations of Alagaësia s inhabitants. To fully appreciate this mirroring, there must
first be an introduction to the lands of Alagaësia. The defining characteristics of three of Alagaësia s
races can be predicted by the geologic features of the lands they inhabit. The three races and geologic
features that will be discussed include: the Dwarven race who inhabit

What Is The Domino Theory Related To The Vietnam War
During World War II there was a total of about 40 days of combat in four years, whereas during the
Vietnam War there were 240 days of combat in one year. The Vietnam War was both devastating and
deceiving. America was not able to successfully save South Vietnam from communist rule, and yet
they still suffered a great amount of loss. The Vietnam War presented a plethora of issue to the United
States and Southeast Asia. The United States suffered a lot of casualties and the U.S. lost a lot of
money. Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos also suffered many casualties and Cambodia and Laos were no
longer peaceful. The war was deceiving because the United States government was not completely
honest about secret attacks on Laos and Cambodia. The Vietnam War should not have happened
because it affected citizens in America, it brought neutral countries into a war, and all of the countries

President Dwight Eisenhower said, You have a row of dominoes set up; you knock over the first one,
and what will happen to the last one is that it will go over very quickly, which supports that he firmly

the spread of communism in Asia. So, the United States did have good intentions in the Vietnam War,
but in the end, the goal of protecting South Vietnam was not successful. The United States, after many
years of fighting, started to withdraw troops from Vietnam in June of 1969. Finally, on January 27,

Bullying And Its Effects On America s Schools Today
Bullying, often labeled as just a part of growing up, is a major problem in America s schools today.
Although it is such a hot topic in our country right now, it is also a long ignored problem that only
seems to worsen. The complication with bullying is that no one quite understands it, and it is not taken
seriously. The definition of bullying is an overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates
smaller or weaker people. In more simple terms, bullying is not a onetime incident; it is repetitive and
happens among individuals when there is an imbalance of power. Statistically, every one in six
children are bullied, and this cannot continue to take place. Every child has the right to feel safe and
have the pursuit of being happy in which bullying completely takes those rights away. There has been
conflict among people since the beginning of time, but when did bullying actually start? In her book,
Bullying, Beth Rosenthal states that we are living in a culture that encourages dominance and
competition (63). America s culture has allowed bullying to become acceptable which is such a
terrible matter. Not only is it an accepted part of our society today, but bullying is embedded in our
DNA which is no wonder bullying has escalated so quickly over time. Many adults today claim that
bullying was not around when they were attending school, and instead it was just labeled as boys
being boys or girls being mean. However, bullying has always been around which draws

Hamilton vs. Jefferson
During a cabinet meeting concerning the idea of the first bank of the United States, federalist
Alexander Hamilton and anti federalist Thomas Jefferson debated the real issues of introducing the

debts, while Jefferson believed that it was a way for the North to profit. This situation was important
because during that time federalist and anti federalist had issues agreeing with some concepts of the
Constitution, and the northern states were in more debt than the southern states. This gave Jefferson

Different Kinds Of Punishments And The Corrections System...
In Chapter 10 Corrections , it went over the history, different kinds of punishments, how it affected the
inmates, and how the corrections system is now and how different it has changed since the first
penitentiary. Being in prison has always been an act of punishment and gives time to the inmate to
reflect their actions. Prison isn t a place to relax and enjoy oneself, an inmate needs to do work or will
suffer the consequences. We will look more into the different kinds of systems and how we got to
where our system is at today.
When it s looked over at a glance it s seen that hard punishment was one of the most dominant ways to
handle an inmate. When penitentiaries were first looked at it was during the Enlightenment era.
During this time, philosophers and reformers were rethinking of the way inmates were punished and
that the methods of punishment would actually affect the inmate. Before this time, the European style
of punishment was the dominant method used. They primarily used physical punishment like beating,
branding, flogging, and any other way to torture an inmate. After viewing how this is the wrong way
to deal with inmates the Penitentiary Act of 1779 was passed by Parliament. This act was based on
four principles: 1.) Secure and sanitary building, 2.) Inspection to make sure inmates were following
rules, 3.) Terminating cost of food for offenders, and 4.) Reformatory regime (Cole Smith, p. 295).
This act leads to the reform in the United States. There were

Existentialism in The Metamorphosis and The Hunger Artist
Existentialism is a philosophy dealing with man s aloneness in the universe. Either there is no God or
else God stands apart from man, leaving him free will to make his own choices. From this basic idea
of man being alone in an uncertain and purposeless world, many related ideas have developed. One
great worry of existentialist writers is that life is becoming too complicated and too impersonal.
People become more and more involved with their work, which is taking them away from their
friends, family, and culture. However, these provide the only meaning that life could possibly have.
One author prominently known for his work with existential ideas was Franz ... Show more content on

Kafka also uses the existential idea that man s fate is sometimes beyond man s control. In his stories,
chance or destiny rules man s life. Gregor could not control his metamorphosis, just as he cannot
control his new legs which waved helplessly before his eyes (1). The hunger artist s fate is to die of
starvation, since as he says, I have to fast, I can t help it (8). Gregor dies; the artist dies. Their lack of
control over their fates emphasizes man s helplessness and forlornness, to use Sartre s term.
For both Gregor and the hunger artist, work leads from dehumanization to death. Their deaths
illustrate another theme of existentialist writing: that man, though alone, cannot survive by himself.
He needs to interact as a member of society in order to give meaning to his life. Man needs mankind
in order to be alive. Before his metamorphosis, Gregor was very much a loner. He got up at four every
morning to travel all over the region to sell products, and he didn t have the time or the opportunity to
make lasting friendships. Nor did he really try. In his free time, he read or did artwork, neither of
which required anyone else. Nevertheless, Gregor s employers did not understand that he was trying to
do a good job. They thought that he was trying to cheat the company. His company treated him like a
piece of machinery to be replaced at the first sign

Becoming A Class President
Ever since the First Grade at Big Country Elementary, I had a love for leadership. I loved the joy that
came with being the representative for my friends and using my mouth to say the words everyone was
thinking and wanting. Once they announced we were going to have Class Officers, my little seven
year old heart filled with rainbows, and I worked extremely hard on my speech. I won the election
because I kept a realistic promise to my class: Rice Krispy Treats for everyone if they voted for me.
The following day there were thousands of the blue foil wrappings all over the floor, but my class was
overfilled with joy because of how I kept my promise and didn t let them down. So,many years after
being a Class President, I still have that same drive and passion to resemble my fellow classmates. ...

Analysis Of The Stanley The Stanley Parable
The Stanley Parable (2013) was a game released to widespread acclaim about a man named Stanley,
whose coworkers mysteriously disappear from the office and whose actions and choices are
subsequently voiced by a narrator. While at first the game might seem simple and ordinary, the longer
spent in the game the more complex the narrative is revealed to be. The game satirizes a lot of
conventions and narrative tropes used throughout the games industry, as well as commenting on other
facets tied heavily to the games medium, like hacks, bugs, and even gameplay. While that might not
be special in itself, what makes The Stanley Parable stand out is how it goes about commenting on
these things. By having the player control Stanley and have all their actions chronicled by the narrator,
the game has created these three distinct entities: The player, Stanley and the narrator. The relationship
between these three is the primary way the game is able to explore certain themes such as player
agency, and how much choice matters. According to Astrid Ensslin, As players we are made to read
[the game] as an allegory of illusory agency built into games to give players the illusion of choice,
power and control. In fact, we as players are all Stanley because again and again we willingly or even
enthusiastically subject ourselves to the constraints set by the games we play (Ensslin 67). The many
different endings contained within The Stanley Parable interacts with these relationships in varying

Drought In The Dust Bowl
The Dust Bowl drought was the worst in U.S. history that was around 1930. It was in the mid west
where it covered sixty percent of the country. Millions of people had to move to other parts because it
lasted four years. It was at its peak in 1934 according to National Climate Data Center . We already
have a lot of drought in California and west although one might say it is all of the U.S. With little rain
and high tempatures in the summers drys out the vegatation which become a hazard for fires. Global
warming might have some to do with the problem of drought. High populations need more water, with
more water being used, depletes resources of water supplies which causes drought also. People need to
become more aware of the use of the use of water, a lot of people take it for granite that there is plenty
out there for all of us to share. In fact, if we don t start to conserve, we might not have water like we

That is the image of a tsunami and they strike somewhere in the world almost every year. Some

majority of tsunamis are in the Indian and Pacific oceans where the Tectonic plated collide and the one

The purpose of this experiment was to test the effects of various solute concentrations on rate of

water to flow inside the bag, where there were more solutes. The water moved inside the bag to try to

Quality Indicators Essay
Quality indicators(QI)are created by the AHRQ(Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality), Quality
indicators are standardized, evidence based measures of health care quality that can be used with
readily available hospital inpatient or outpatient administrative data to measure and track quality of
care. QI culture is dedicated to clinical studies, setting goals, measurement of performance, identify
the indicators, implementation and making an organized transition. However, these quality indicators
are mostly driven by measurement of performance, with the aim to enhance healthcare. These quality
indicators are constructed into four standardized parts.
1.Pediatric Quality Indictors(PQI), pediatric indicators are a group of measures that focus on the
quality of care for the pediatric population/patients and preventable hospital admissions. PQI review
issues or problems with children , that may have occurred as a result of being in the healthcare setting.

to warfarin toxicity elevated INR of 6.45. This indicator would suggest that if adequate teaching was
provided, hospitalization may have been avoided if their PT/INR was monitored regularly as an
outpatient. As PQI strongly supports community clinic/primary care physician support. 3. Inpatient

Failure Of Appeasement Research Paper
Failure of Appeasement was the main reason WW2 occurred. How far do you agree?
The policy of appeasement was used between 1935 and 1939 by the League Of Nations towards Nazi
Germany. It involved making concessions to Germany, allowing Hitler to do things such as Anschluss
and invade the Sudetenland. Many historians, including Winston Churchill, critisied appeasement at
the time. One way in which Appeasement failed and contributed to the outbreak of WW2 was that it
encouraged Hitler to follow his expansionist policies (Lebensraum). This is shown by the risks Hitler
was taking, hoping no repurcussions would occur. One example of this the remiliterisation of the
Rhineland in March 1936 which, directly contradicting the terms laid out in the ... Show more content

The league was designed to democratically complete its main aims; enocouraging disarmament and
improving working conditions and upholding peace. The League failed in these aims and allowed
powerful nations to gain unlawful global strongholds. One example of this was the italian invasion of
Corfu in 1923, the League failed to enforce sanctions and allowed mussolini to demand compensation
and an apology from greece. Mussolini could see the League was weak and later invaded abysinnia in
1935. The league, once again, failed to act and the world lost confidence in its ability to keep it safe.
The nazi soviet pact was signed between germany and russia, agreeing to complete non aggression
and the divison of poland. This meant Hitler could focus on the western front and gave him
confidence in winning the war. This meant the likelyhood of war breaking out was massivly increased.
Overall, I believe the faliure of appeasement isnt the main reason for the outbreak of the second world
war because it bought Britain time to prepare for conflict. The failure of the League Of Nations to
prevent expansionist foreign powers was to blame. It didnt enforce sanctions on Italy, Germany and
Japan (as seen in the manchurian crisis) and allowed them to gain the confidence to begin the

Separation Of Powers In Australia
Brief Background and Description of the Separation of Powers:
Australia adopted its democratic system from both the Westminster and United States pre established
versions. The structure of separation of powers intends to delegate the power of the state to three
branches in order to minimise the abuse of this power and ensure justice through its protection. The
powers pertaining to each branch are mutually exclusive to each arm of government . The legislative
branch, responsible for the drafting and establishing of laws, the executive, aimed at putting the laws
into force and implementing them and the judiciary designed to interpret the laws, are evidence of the
exclusivity of each branches function within the Australian government. The legislative ... Show more

The recruiting aspect is definitely made more efficient through product and proven ways of marketing,
but our process will take things a step further. We will need to make sure that after we have a recruit,
again that this is the person that is going to fall in line with what we are ultimately trying to get
accomplished. We will put jobs in individual categories. What I mean by this statement is that though
we are looking for people who are going to be infantry and cavalry ready, we also are going to have
different roles in the structure of the unit. While we have some people who are much more hands on
and like to learn by doing, we also are going to have people who will not necessarily be as hands on
but can do a good job of leading by thinking through issues. This is going to be the basic structure of
the group, and with this two types of structures, we will be able to categorize any job in a blanket way
to fall into these areas. We will use the recruiting process overall along with testing and background to
encourage the recruits to take their careers in the direction that not only will be in our best interest, but
also in theirs as well.

business side of things are running efficiently and effectively

The end of the war opened new avenues for the American public due to new innovations in technology
and organization (Marshall, 1979). Abraham Levitt, an American entrepreneur, established a
community in Nassau County, Long Island. Levitt converted former farmland into a suburban
community where thousands of individuals could find housing. Approximately, 17,000 houses were
built and sold or rented to middle income families (Naish, 2014). Among the American population,
there was a desire for individual freedom following World War II. One being able to attain a large
living space and accumulate material wealth became engrained in the American Dream. Many realized
that the suburbs and living in planned subdivisions of land was an affordable option. This led to the
growth of suburbia throughout the late 20th century. These same desires are what allow the suburbs to
flourish today. The US Census Bureau published in 2002 The Demographic Trends of the 20th
Century. In the 20th century, the American population grew from 76 million to 281 million, with 80%
of the 281 million living in urban areas. It is the suburbs that represented the largest degree of growth.

What Were The Key Social And Cultural Factors That Enabled...
Assessment 3 Short Essay 1000 words
What were the key social and cultural factors that enabled the Gospel to spread so quickly through the
Roman Empire? Using primary and secondary sources, discuss with particular reference to Paul s
writings and the Book of Acts.
Paul more than anyone was responsible for the spread of the Jesus movement into the Gentile world.
By the end of the first century Christianity had become an important religious force. Paul while
respectful of its Jewish origins moved the Christian faith into a position where it was no longer bound
by Jewish law and was able to embrace people of any cultural background. After his own conversion,
Paul passionately espoused his message from the Palestinian world through Asia Minor and southern
Europe to Rome, the heart of the empire. Some of his letters by Paul to fledgling churches throughout
the Roman Empire are contained in the New Testament and outline Paul s theology. He insisted that
Gentiles had as much access to the faith as Jews and that freedom from the Law set everyone free. It
was this teaching which was essential for the development and success of the early church which
would otherwise have remained another Jewish sect.
The culture of Paul s time was Greco Roman. In the fourth century BC Alexander the Great dominated
the Near Eastern world and was a strong devotee of Greek culture. He brought the Greek language to
the Eastern world, a tongue that became the Lingua franca of early Christianity with

Essay on Components of a Good Ghost Story
Components of a Good Ghost Story
A good mystery novel needs to be based on life in the past similar to the Victorian era for the reason
that of industrialisation and it was an era of when inventors started experimenting and creating new
and bizarre ideas. In the Victorian era many stories were based around the gothical theme. The story
signalman is a ghost story, it was written in 1866 by Charles Dickens. Another example of a gothic
story is the red room , which is also a ghost story or contains beings of the spiritual world written by
H.G Wells in 1896. Both of these novels were written at the end of the gothic period. I will now find
the similarities of both novels.

The story of redroom argues about ghosts.
Ay and eight and twenty years I have lived here and never seen a ghost .

The purpose of this paper is to examine three of the Ten Commandments. The focus will be on the
strengths and weakness of first, second, and fourth commandment, as well as a which commandment
should be rewritten for the 21st century Christian. The First Amendment of the United States
Constitution protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government
interference. The Freedom of Expression consisted of the rights to freedom of speech, press, assembly
and to petition the government for a redress of grievances, and the implied rights of association and

The Fourth Amendment also lengthens further security by demanding that warrants be issued and
empowered by law to allow a search and seizure. Furthermore, a warrant will only be distributed if
probable cause can be proven. The fourth Amendment gives for extra requirements and protection of
citizens due to the misuse of the writ of assistance during the American Colonial Period. The writ of
assistance was a type of general search warrant that was employed by tax collectors to search the
homes of the colonists and seize goods, which was commonly misused and the collectors would often
just take what they pleased. Lastly, with rewriting the Fourth Amendment should state that searches of
persons and properties shall be conducted only when the person or owner of the said property is well
notified and informed. Seizures of properties shall have acceptable permission from the court and
written notice provided to the owner of said property defining to what property is to be seized. In
conclusion, there are so many draw backs and benefits when it comes to the constitution. However,
when it comes to rewriting the constitution not everyone will agree. Some will say rewriting the
constitution may be secret sauce that society needs to fully understand the message it is trying to
deliver, while on the other hand some would consider it to be

Quotes About Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan (Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer, songwriter, musician,
painter, and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades.
Dylan s lyrics join a range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences . The quote above
in meaning is that just by having democracy and giving the people the rights doesn t solve any issues.
People still do bad things while having democracy and they blame it on the government. There were
many people who supported the killing of the people in France because they had thought that it could
solve problems that were going on at that time and some who disagreed because violence doesn t

Cordy s plan worked but it also failed because that did not stop the violence in the French revolution.
Corday also blamed Marat for the civil war she thought would happen in France. She believed that
Marat was bad for the future of France and that his death would stop the violence in France. She also
believed that Louis XVI should not have been executed
However, Maximilien would disagree with this quote because he believed that only democracy would
fix the government and the country. Maximilien Robespierre is one of the best known leaders of the
French Revolution. He was born in Arras, France and he went to school to become a lawyer and got
his degree at law school. He also, got elected to the Estates General to help make laws for France and
fought against the French Monarchy, the death penalty, slavery, for democratic reforms and the people
to have more power. He helped gain a reputation for defending the poor society. he was elected
president of the powerful Jacobin political faction. At first, he was against the killing of the people
because he thought it wasn t right but as the Revolution grew more and more, he started to believe that
it was out of hand to the point where nothing could be solved.

peacetime is virtue, the strength of popular government in revolution is both virtue and terror; terror
without virtue is disastrous, virtue without terror is

The Nature Of The African Landscape
The Landscape: In this section, I seek to investigate how the nature of the African landscape has been
depicted in Heart of Darkness. Questions such as 1.) How the Orientalist others the foreign landscape
2.) What is the psychological influence of the African landscape on the European colonisers? 3.) Does
the psychological influenceon the Whites similar to that of the Blacks? 4.) And, what are the
consequences of that psychological influence on the White invaders and the natives? These arguments
are presented in ascending order of importance. I will study the colonial and the Oriental conception
of the foreign landscape as Marlow s journey involves both trajectories. I also aim at exploring Conrad
s mechanism that he uses to hit on the serious issue of the psychological state of the European
characters and who he reflects it in his narrative.
The abundant reports, literary narratives, and the variety of representations of the early travellers that
belong to different social, cultural, and political backgrounds presented Africa with a very shining
image. They loomed Africa as exotic, strange, and the promised of golden opportunities. However, in
the nineteenth century Western colonial discourse, Africabegan to function as a synonym to absence
and infinite. (Miller, 1996: 92). This is because the colonial missionaries and administration of Africa
turns it into a realm of darkness, corruption, and a source of terror that lacks shape and pattern.

Household Consumption is the value of goods and services that households buy to fulfil everyday
needs or wants. This includes expenditure on durable and non durable goods. Durable goods are
expected to last a long time, e.g. cars, driers, and fridges, whereas, non durable goods include items
that get utilised regularly and only last a short period of time e.g. groceries, magazines and clothing .
Household consumption alone accounts for approximately 60% of Australian Gross Domestic Product
(GDP) and it is the GDP that determines the growth and success of the economy (Graph 1).
Graph 1
Household consumption is important and should be monitored as the things we buy everyday create
the demand that keeps companies profitable and hiring new workers. Businesses can offer great
products but if the products are not consumed, the profit will not remain for long. If profit does not
continue, people would be out of job and unable to buy goods and services.
This downward turn can decrease prices to drop which causes deflation and if the spending continues
to decrease, the economy could go into a recession. Other implications would include less tax revenue
collected by the government and this could put a restraint on the bank s lending money.
However, increased spending can also damage the economy as it will intensify the growth. The
upward turn can increase prices which causes inflation. The consumer demand is higher than the

  • 2. Netflix Film Analysis When Netflix announced they were not just pivoting into original episodic content, but also acquiring and streaming feature length films in 2015, the industry held its breath. After gaining traction with a small theatrical release of 2015 s Beasts of No Nation, which should have been an Oscar contender, but was ignored by the Academy (though rewarded by SAG, BAFTA, and other organizations), the media conglomerate has gone on to premiere several dozen feature length films and documentaries in the last two years. And maybe you didn t realize that. The problem with all of these acquisitions has been that Netflix largely uploads and buries them on their service. For example, they acquired the Sundance Grand Jury Prize award winner from 2017, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These Superpigs are a pig/hippo hybrid with the apparent loyalty of a dog, who will be sent to the 26 Mirando Corporation locations to be raised and grown. A winner would be declared in 2017. In 2017, on a remote South Korean homestead, 14 year old Mija (Ahn Seo hyun) lives with her grandfather Hee bong (Byun Hee bong) and one of the superpigs, named Okja. Okja and Mija have formed a special bond and spend nearly every waking moment together. One morning, a number of people emerge on the top of her quiet, surreptitious mountainous abode. The first is washed up television star Johnny Wilcox (Jake Gyllenhaal), who has been hired by the Mirando Corporation to promote the Superpig program worldwide. His diva like tendencies are on display immediately, and his production team arranges a quick shoot which leads to Okja being taken away. As it turns out, she is the winner. What results from here is a wild and free wheeling adventure film that sees Mija run away to try and save Okja, who is on her way to New York City for the big reveal. As Mirando employees work on exporting Okja to the states, an activist group the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) swoop in and try to liberate the animal from Mirando s clutches. While it is no spoiler to reveal that all roads lead back to New York, we also have lots of surprises along the way Bong s film veering in and out of cultural critique, goofy comedy, and over the top characterizations that keep us appropriately ... • 3. Dr Jekyll And Hyde Gender Analysis Another perspective to consider when exploring the absence of women in Jekyll and Hyde is the curious descriptions regarding Hyde. Doane and Hodges state that many descriptions of Hyde s physical characteristics are congruent with cultural descriptions of femininity (69). As a result, perhaps women are not seen much in the novella because Hyde operates as the sole feminine representative. He is small in stature like women typically are, walks with a quick light step swinging his arms instead of walking with a heavy step, and weeps like a women. Many critics argue that Hyde s size and even his walking pattern represent outward manifestations of his morality. In regards to size, his small stature references stunted growth in the area of moral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Utterson and Poole break into Jekyll s laboratory, they find a surprisingly domestic scene: quiet lamplight, a good fire glowing and chattering on the hearth, the kettle singing its thin strain, a drawer or two open, papers neatly set forth on the business table, and nearer the fire, things laid out for tea (Stevenson 33). Instead of finding Jekyll, they find Hyde on the floor dead, making it seem like Hyde was the one who set up this warm scene. A likely explanation for this setup could be that a maid set everything up for her master; however, all of the servants and maids are locked out of the laboratory. Utterson describes all of Jekyll s servants and maids in the hall entranceway huddled together like a flock of sheep , and Poole explains that, for a week now, Jekyll has locked himself in his laboratory and not left once, scaring everyone who works in the household (Stevenson 28). Considering that no one is able to enter his laboratory in order to arrange this domestic scene, Hyde is the only character who could have organized the room accordingly. For a man of immoral grounds, this is an odd task, especially considering his usually violent actions. Additionally, this setting is not important in the big scheme of things and is immediately overlooked after Utterson and Poole find Hyde s dead body in the room. For the past week, Jekyll has been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Peoria Notre Dame High School Research Paper The best day I have ever had at Peoria Notre Dame High School was September eleventh of 2014 because it was my birthday. That morning I was so happy and filled with excitement. I came into school and everyone was happy to see me. Even people I barely knew were happy to greet me with a sincere birthday congratulations. It was awesome because I had so many new friends and all of us were joyful on that day. Throughout all my days here at Peoria Notre Dame I look forward to lunch. That day was no exception especially because it was chicken Thursday. When I got to my seat at lunch I was soon after greeted by the smiling face of Mrs.Mattarelli. • 5. The Artist Pablo Picasso The artist Pablo Picasso is quite possibly one of the most famous artists to ever live. While he was one of the greatest painters, he was also a man of many talents. He was a painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist and stage designer. Picasso was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, as well as the co founder of Cubism. His creativity, empathy, and mastery in the arts has led him to become such a revolutionary artist. He devoted his life to painting and artistic production for the simple fact of wanting to contribute to modern art in the 20th century. Picasso was born Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Martyr Patricio Clito Ruíz y Picasso on October 25th, 1881 in Málaga, Spain. Picasso s parents were Don José Ruiz Blasco and Doña María Picasso y López. Picasso s father was a painter and art teacher. Picasso was introduced to art by his father. Picasso showed a passion and displayed a prodigious talent for drawing at an early age. His father decided to formally train him, at the age of seven, in the art of oil painting and figure drawing. Picasso was a precocious boy whose budding talent grew to overshadow that of his father. By the time he was 13. The painting, Les Demoiselles d Avignon, was painted by Picasso in the year 1907 and is the most famous example of cubism painting, as it is considered the first cubist piece of artwork. With this piece Picasso marked an extensive break from the traditional characteristics of painting, he abandoned all aspects of traditional art with this piece. He veered far from the representation and form often seen in traditional art at the time. He depicted five naked women prostitutes in a brothel, but the women were far from realistic. Picasso had drawn them nothing like the traditional paintings of women. Their bodies were made up of flat, splintered planes rather than rounded volumes, their eyes were drawn lopsided, and their faces were off putting. With this painting Picasso did things that no other artist had contemplated at the time. This visual violent piece evokes and liberates eroticism. This piece and its unbinding desire was unprecedented in art and in the culture of that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Analysis of Salman Rushdie s Midnight s Children and... Transitions of place, time, and character are key to the storytelling in Salman Rushdie s Midnight s Children and Virginia Woolfe s Mrs. Dalloway . Rushdie explores the History, Nationalism and Hybridism of the nation of India after they became independent of Great Britain. Woolfe comments heavily on English society more through her description of her characters, and the weaving of time and place is an effective way to telling the stories of her characters as we follow them through a single day. This parallels the narrative structure of the novel as being circular, discontinuous and digressive. The same can easily be said for Mrs Dalloway as the novel almost jarringly weaves through many points of view. This fragmentation appropriates the concept of history in Midnight s Children , which was developed by colonizers. History works for a particular class of ideology, and therefore it will be contaminated, oblique and subjective. In Mrs. Dalloway the characters themselves are subjective commentaries on English society, and they have been subjectively contaminated by Woolfe s opinions of who they represent. The functionality of history is grounded in the simple assumption that life is shaped like a story. Whereas Woolfe admittedly wrote in an experimental style that was more of a slice of life than a traditionally shaped story with a beginning, middle, and end. For Saleem, who is buffeted by too much history , it is his memory which creates his own history. The same is true of everyone in Mrs. Dalloway . Memory, as well as fruit, is being saved from the corruption of the clocks . This quote could have easily been in Mrs. Dalloway, particularly when Clarissa reacted to the suicide of Septimus and seemed to fear the aging brought on by ticking clocks. Yet, for Rushdie, it is not based on the universal empty time that has been conceptualized by the colonizers. Notions of time and space are integrated into both novels. The novel critiques ... Some of the greatest sports heroes ever, couldn t but the bat on the ball no matter how hard they tried. Even players talented enough to make it professionally, have an on base success rate of less than 33%. Hitting a baseball is difficult, but consistent contact can be made if you swing properly. Here are some three tips on how to swing a baseball bat correctly, great suggestions for any level of competition. Solid Foundation A good baseball swing starts with your base. Feet are spaced approximately twice the width of your hips, with slightly bent knees and your body weight shifted towards the balls of your feet. Open Your Hips This is one of the more difficult aspects of properly swinging at a baseball. When your hips open to soon, you will be behind the pitch. Opening your hips too early will cause you to swing over the ball, or be too far out in front. Rotating your hips at precisely the exact instant the bat makes contact with the ball is how to generate the most power from your swing. The most accomplished hitters refer to this concept, as launching your hips. The stance and hip rotation are where a hitter s power is generated. Can t Hit What You Can t See Tracking the ball is one aspect of hitting a baseball. It cannot stop at any point during your swing. If your eyes drift, so will your head. When you pull your head off the ball, you will compromise your swing. Most of the time you ll miss the pitch completely, or at best make poor contact. To keep you head on the ball, never take your eyes off the ball. The best hitters profess to actually seeing the ball make contact with that bat. Good hitters insist, you cannot hit what you cannot see, so focus on the ball to help keep your head ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I believe that this is due to the fact that death is the only thing that we can be certain of in this life and it is in fact inevitable. Everyone lives up to the point of death and death is a natural part of life that many people do not want to come to terms with. Many people disregard the thought of death, whether it be hiding behind their religious views, cultural beliefs, or just overall spending their life living in denial. Although, there was one thing that Faustus did not know anything about, necromancy. Necromancy is also known as black magic, which refers to the dead. His main purpose of turning to black magic was so that he could have more power. Faustus wishes to become a demigod, which is a minor deity. Becoming a demigod, and learning about black magic will give Doctor Faustus the ultimate power and knowledge that he is craving to have. It is very ironic in my opinion that Doctor Faustus put so much time and effort into receiving his doctorate degree in Theology, and then essentially throws it all away to learn about necromancy, which is overall the complete opposite teachings of theology. I believe that his decision was influenced based upon the simple fact that Faustus knew everything that there was to know about Theology, as well as God. Therefore, he could not except that this was all that there was to life. He craved to learn about something that he knew many other individuals, including himself, did not know about or truly understand, being death. Death is a part of life that many individuals refuse to understand because of the fact that many people do not feel as if they are ready to die. In The Inheritance Cycle, author Christopher Paolini introduces readers to the beautiful Alagaësia: a world populated by humans, elves, magic wielders, dwarves, urgals, and dragon riders. The physical features of Alagaësia and the native lands inhabited by the above listed peoples are closely tied together. Although it is such a hot topic in our country right now, it is also a long ignored problem that only seems to worsen. The complication with bullying is that no one quite understands it, and it is not taken seriously. The definition of bullying is an overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates smaller or weaker people. In more simple terms, bullying is not a onetime incident; it is repetitive and happens among individuals when there is an imbalance of power. Statistically, every one in six children are bullied, and this cannot continue to take place. Every child has the right to feel safe and have the pursuit of being happy in which bullying completely takes those rights away. There has been conflict among people since the beginning of time, but when did bullying actually start? In her book, Bullying, Beth Rosenthal states that we are living in a culture that encourages dominance and competition (63). America s culture has allowed bullying to become acceptable which is such a terrible matter. Being in prison has always been an act of punishment and gives time to the inmate to reflect their actions. Prison isn t a place to relax and enjoy oneself, an inmate needs to do work or will suffer the consequences. We will look more into the different kinds of systems and how we got to where our system is at today. When it s looked over at a glance it s seen that hard punishment was one of the most dominant ways to handle an inmate. When penitentiaries were first looked at it was during the Enlightenment era. During this time, philosophers and reformers were rethinking of the way inmates were punished and that the methods of punishment would actually affect the inmate. Before this time, the European style of punishment was the dominant method used. They primarily used physical punishment like beating, branding, flogging, and any other way to torture an inmate. After viewing how this is the wrong way to deal with inmates the Penitentiary Act of 1779 was passed by Parliament. This act was based on four principles: 1.) Secure and sanitary building, 2.) Existentialism in The Metamorphosis and The Hunger Artist Existentialism is a philosophy dealing with man s aloneness in the universe. Either there is no God or else God stands apart from man, leaving him free will to make his own choices. From this basic idea of man being alone in an uncertain and purposeless world, many related ideas have developed. One great worry of existentialist writers is that life is becoming too complicated and too impersonal. People become more and more involved with their work, which is taking them away from their friends, family, and culture. However, these provide the only meaning that life could possibly have. Kafka also uses the existential idea that man s fate is sometimes beyond man s control. In his stories, chance or destiny rules man s life. Gregor could not control his metamorphosis, just as he cannot control his new legs which waved helplessly before his eyes (1). The hunger artist s fate is to die of starvation, since as he says, I have to fast, I can t help it (8). Gregor dies; the artist dies. Their lack of control over their fates emphasizes man s helplessness and forlornness, to use Sartre s term. For both Gregor and the hunger artist, work leads from dehumanization to death. Their deaths illustrate another theme of existentialist writing: that man, though alone, cannot survive by himself. He needs to interact as a member of society in order to give meaning to his life. Man needs mankind in order to be alive. Before his metamorphosis, Gregor was very much a loner. He got up at four every morning to travel all over the region to sell products, and he didn t have the time or the opportunity to make lasting friendships. Nor did he really try. • 23. Analysis Of The Stanley The Stanley Parable The Stanley Parable (2013) was a game released to widespread acclaim about a man named Stanley, whose coworkers mysteriously disappear from the office and whose actions and choices are subsequently voiced by a narrator. While at first the game might seem simple and ordinary, the longer spent in the game the more complex the narrative is revealed to be. The game satirizes a lot of conventions and narrative tropes used throughout the games industry, as well as commenting on other facets tied heavily to the games medium, like hacks, bugs, and even gameplay. While that might not be special in itself, what makes The Stanley Parable stand out is how it goes about commenting on these things. By having the player control Stanley and have all their actions chronicled by the narrator, the game has created these three distinct entities: The player, Stanley and the narrator. The relationship between these three is the primary way the game is able to explore certain themes such as player agency, and how much choice matters. According to Astrid Ensslin, As players we are made to read [the game] as an allegory of illusory agency built into games to give players the illusion of choice, power and control. • 27. Failure Of Appeasement Research Paper Failure of Appeasement was the main reason WW2 occurred. How far do you agree? The policy of appeasement was used between 1935 and 1939 by the League Of Nations towards Nazi Germany. It involved making concessions to Germany, allowing Hitler to do things such as Anschluss and invade the Sudetenland. Many historians, including Winston Churchill, critisied appeasement at the time. One way in which Appeasement failed and contributed to the outbreak of WW2 was that it encouraged Hitler to follow his expansionist policies (Lebensraum). This is shown by the risks Hitler was taking, hoping no repurcussions would occur. One example of this the remiliterisation of the Rhineland in March 1936 which, directly contradicting the terms laid out in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The league was designed to democratically complete its main aims; enocouraging disarmament and improving working conditions and upholding peace. The League failed in these aims and allowed powerful nations to gain unlawful global strongholds. One example of this was the italian invasion of Corfu in 1923, the League failed to enforce sanctions and allowed mussolini to demand compensation and an apology from greece. Mussolini could see the League was weak and later invaded abysinnia in 1935. The league, once again, failed to act and the world lost confidence in its ability to keep it safe. The nazi soviet pact was signed between germany and russia, agreeing to complete non aggression and the divison of poland. This meant Hitler could focus on the western front and gave him confidence in winning the war. This meant the likelyhood of war breaking out was massivly increased. Overall, I believe the faliure of appeasement isnt the main reason for the outbreak of the second world war because it bought Britain time to prepare for conflict. The failure of the League Of Nations to prevent expansionist foreign powers was to blame. It didnt enforce sanctions on Italy, Germany and Japan (as seen in the manchurian crisis) and allowed them to gain the confidence to begin the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Separation Of Powers In Australia Brief Background and Description of the Separation of Powers: Australia adopted its democratic system from both the Westminster and United States pre established versions. The structure of separation of powers intends to delegate the power of the state to three branches in order to minimise the abuse of this power and ensure justice through its protection. The powers pertaining to each branch are mutually exclusive to each arm of government . The legislative branch, responsible for the drafting and establishing of laws, the executive, aimed at putting the laws into force and implementing them and the judiciary designed to interpret the laws, are evidence of the exclusivity of each branches function within the Australian government. We will put jobs in individual categories. What I mean by this statement is that though we are looking for people who are going to be infantry and cavalry ready, we also are going to have different roles in the structure of the unit. While we have some people who are much more hands on and like to learn by doing, we also are going to have people who will not necessarily be as hands on but can do a good job of leading by thinking through issues. This is going to be the basic structure of the group, and with this two types of structures, we will be able to categorize any job in a blanket way to fall into these areas. We will use the recruiting process overall along with testing and background to encourage the recruits to take their careers in the direction that not only will be in our best interest, but also in theirs as well. Abraham Levitt, an American entrepreneur, established a community in Nassau County, Long Island. Levitt converted former farmland into a suburban community where thousands of individuals could find housing. Approximately, 17,000 houses were built and sold or rented to middle income families (Naish, 2014). Among the American population, there was a desire for individual freedom following World War II. One being able to attain a large living space and accumulate material wealth became engrained in the American Dream. Many realized that the suburbs and living in planned subdivisions of land was an affordable option. This led to the growth of suburbia throughout the late 20th century. These same desires are what allow the suburbs to flourish today. The US Census Bureau published in 2002 The Demographic Trends of the 20th Century. In the 20th century, the American population grew from 76 million to 281 million, with 80% of the 281 million living in urban areas. It is the suburbs that represented the largest degree of growth. • 33. What Were The Key Social And Cultural Factors That Enabled... Assessment 3 Short Essay 1000 words What were the key social and cultural factors that enabled the Gospel to spread so quickly through the Roman Empire? Using primary and secondary sources, discuss with particular reference to Paul s writings and the Book of Acts. Paul more than anyone was responsible for the spread of the Jesus movement into the Gentile world. By the end of the first century Christianity had become an important religious force. Paul while respectful of its Jewish origins moved the Christian faith into a position where it was no longer bound by Jewish law and was able to embrace people of any cultural background. After his own conversion, Paul passionately espoused his message from the Palestinian world through Asia Minor and southern Europe to Rome, the heart of the empire. Some of his letters by Paul to fledgling churches throughout the Roman Empire are contained in the New Testament and outline Paul s theology. He insisted that Gentiles had as much access to the faith as Jews and that freedom from the Law set everyone free. It was this teaching which was essential for the development and success of the early church which would otherwise have remained another Jewish sect. The culture of Paul s time was Greco Roman. In the fourth century BC Alexander the Great dominated the Near Eastern world and was a strong devotee of Greek culture. He brought the Greek language to the Eastern world, a tongue that became the Lingua franca of early Christianity with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The writ of assistance was a type of general search warrant that was employed by tax collectors to search the homes of the colonists and seize goods, which was commonly misused and the collectors would often just take what they pleased. How the Orientalist others the foreign landscape 2.) What is the psychological influence of the African landscape on the European colonisers? 3.) Does the psychological influenceon the Whites similar to that of the Blacks? 4.) And, what are the consequences of that psychological influence on the White invaders and the natives? These arguments are presented in ascending order of importance. I will study the colonial and the Oriental conception of the foreign landscape as Marlow s journey involves both trajectories. I also aim at exploring Conrad s mechanism that he uses to hit on the serious issue of the psychological state of the European characters and who he reflects it in his narrative. The abundant reports, literary narratives, and the variety of representations of the early travellers that belong to different social, cultural, and political backgrounds presented Africa with a very shining image. They loomed Africa as exotic, strange, and the promised of golden opportunities. However, in the nineteenth century Western colonial discourse, Africabegan to function as a synonym to absence and infinite. (Miller, 1996: 92). • 40. The Importance Of Household Consumption Household Consumption Household Consumption is the value of goods and services that households buy to fulfil everyday needs or wants. This includes expenditure on durable and non durable goods. Durable goods are expected to last a long time, e.g. cars, driers, and fridges, whereas, non durable goods include items that get utilised regularly and only last a short period of time e.g. groceries, magazines and clothing . Household consumption alone accounts for approximately 60% of Australian Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and it is the GDP that determines the growth and success of the economy (Graph 1). Graph 1 Household consumption is important and should be monitored as the things we buy everyday create the demand that keeps companies profitable and hiring new workers. Businesses can offer great products but if the products are not consumed, the profit will not remain for long. If profit does not continue, people would be out of job and unable to buy goods and services. This downward turn can decrease prices to drop which causes deflation and if the spending continues to decrease, the economy could go into a recession. Other implications would include less tax revenue collected by the government and this could put a restraint on the bank s lending money. However, increased spending can also damage the economy as it will intensify the growth. The upward turn can increase prices which causes inflation.
