Final Project
Final Project The Broadway Café By CIS500 Business Driven Information Systems Part 1: Porter s
Five Force Analysis Broadway Cafe since its inception in the neighborhood in 1952 has outgrown its
place in terms of antiquated ways of doing business. It is in dire need of a face life and an extreme
makeover, to say the least. Broadway Cafe is in a unique position to receive its makeover in the City
of downtown Conway, and it appears that it will catch up to the 21st century. There is a downtown
revitalization project that is in its development stage and the Conway Chamber of Commerce has
invited all businesses to attend its monthly meeting to address areas of concerns, needs and/or ... Show

Since the café is located near the Courthouse district and located on a busy corner lot with only one
another Café two blocks away, it has a tremendous competitive advantage. We will utilize the
differential advantage strategy in moving forward to offer new services and products to our existing
and new customers, which we feel that will be beneficial in making this transition. Part 2 Developing
an EBusiness Strategy There is an emerging ebusiness market that Broadway Café has to catch up
with and in doing so, it will begin by first creating an assessment and assembling a team of
employees, who may have the knowledge (cost saving method) to draft ideas and present for final
review. The ebusiness model as defined by Baltzan (2009), indicated that it is an approach to
conducting electronic business on the internet. Therefore, by launching an e business, Broadway Café
will have an opportunity to leverage it current assets, its customers. To follow in this opportunity will
be the employees, technology infrastructure, and information to gain and maintain market share.
Broadway Café will be able to offer customers electronic payments for products or services,
employees will have an opportunity to enter a code to identifying signing in and out procedures for
time clocks and transactions. Broadway Café customers will no longer have to place orders via the
phone;

Did the Romans civilise Britain
This essay is about how Britain changed Britain, and how they brought civilisation to it. The
definition of civilisation has been questioned over the centuries. There are many different meanings of
the word but in the Romans case it is The type of culture and society developed by a particular nation
or in a particular era or time. In other words, this is what the Romans did to Britain. In particular, I
will discuss the Roman invasion and the effect the Romans had on housing and roads. Before the
Romans invaded, Celts lived in Britain. There were no towns so most people lived in villages and
were farmers. People were separated into tribes ruled by kings or chiefs. Chiefs were the leaders in
battle; they would lead warriors into battle in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Romans brought lots of things that we take for granted every day. For example calendars, the
census, indoor plumbing, fruit and vegetables, the police and even cats! One of the most influential
things the Romans did for Britain was build roads. When the Romans established in Britain they built
lots of high quality straight roads. The main roads that the Romans built were from London to York
(via Lincoln), London to Wroxeter (a village in Shropshire), London to Dover and Exeter to York via
Bath, Cirencester and Lincoln. The new roads meant that it was much easier and simpler for the
emperors to control their empire. This was because they could send messages and orders quickly. The
roads helped Romans to trade with each other. They also provided people with a much easier option
than to walk. The roads were mainly built by Roman soldiers as the authorities could guarantee that
the Roman soldiers would do the best they could for the sake of Rome. The Roman roads were used a
lot but many had to walk as chariots and horses were expensive. In spite of all the work that was put in
with the Roman roads, when they left Britain the Britons did not make use of the roads. The Britons
did not use the villas or baths either because of their close association to the Romans. Moreover the
Britons did not have any knowledge of how to repair the roads because they

Gender Stereotypes In Disney Films
Discussion In the current study, we sought to analyze the portrayal of gender stereotypical behaviors
in Disney films. We developed this study based on previous findings from Kirsch and Murnen (2013),
(Junn,1997), and Leaper et al (2002) and because of the potential implications of Disney s portrayal of
gender stereotypes in their films. We developed two hypotheses to test this. First, we hypothesized that
male characters would exhibit masculine stereotypical behaviors such as giving orders and being
aggressive, more often than feminine stereotypical behaviors and women would display feminine
stereotypical behaviors such as performing domestic duties and primping, more often than masculine
stereotypical behaviors in Disney movies. Second, we hypothesized that women would have more
fluidity in these Disney films, meaning they are more likely to exhibit masculine stereotypical
behaviors as compared to males demonstrating feminine stereotypical behaviors. According to our
results, we failed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We observed a total of 487 instances of male stereotypical behavior, but only 77 instances of female
stereotypical behaviors. This leads into the final and perhaps the largest limitation of our study, which
was the limited sample size which could have potentially increased the amount of female stereotypical
behaviors observed and made it clearer which gender was more likely to exhibit them. We only
watched 5 of the over 150 Disney produced films and thus perhaps our results are by chance. If we
increased our sample size, then we might have increased our chances of finding gender stereotypical
behaviors, as has been discovered in many studies. Our study may have possessed other limitations as
well, but our results could be supported or not supported by future

Inspector Calls Essay
What do you think is the importance of Inspector Goole and how does Priestley present him?
Inspector Goole creates a massive presence within An Inspector Calls and through him we are able to
explore each character and Priestly himself. The Inspector is a vital character within the play and
allows Priestly to channel through his thoughts, feelings and messages to society by creating the
seemingly omniscient Inspector Goole. In the essay I will illustrate the importance of the Inspector
and demonstrate how Priestly presents him.
The Inspector is the vehicle that helps us understand each characters personality and views, we see
this with Sheila once a naive young girl who seemed quite shallow to begin with becomes a

In addition, his name Goole infers and has connotations of ghoul which is an evil spirit therefore
indicating that he might not be human. Priestly uses a dramatic device of lighting change pink and
intimate to brighter and harder to really show how the Inspector is different to the others and this in
turn reflects his harsh personality and how the atmosphere changes so much when he s around relating
to his other world presence.
Mrs Birling is a character that is affected by the Inspector in a superficial way: she s more bothered
about what other people will think about her being involved than how she actually helped kill a poor
woman. We see the two contrasts of how Sheila reacts and how Mrs Birling reacts which is effective
as Priestly is able to demonstrate that the Inspector is like a conscience of the family; like in the real
world some people are able to ignore their conscience and not feel bad whereas some people really
feel their guilt when they have done something wrong. This therefore is why the Inspector is so
important in the play, and in his last speech he makes reference to the World War 1 and 2 and how
people had still not learnt their lesson (used dramatic irony but applies it to the Birling s situation) and
sets it straight to them that if they have

Cyrano De Bergerac Character Analysis
In the play, Cyrano de Bergerac, by Edmond Rostant, there are many characters in the book; but our
focus is on Cyrano de Bergerac. His admirability lies in his willingness to please others. It may be
because he is very self conscious, so he thinks that no one will ever like let alone love him. In the play,
Cyrano is in love with his cousin, Roxane. But Roxane is in love with Christian, and Christian
Roxane. Cyrano ends up setting Christian up with Roxane, while Cyrano writes all the romantic lines
for Christian to woo Roxane (Christian is terrible at love poems). Christian gets married to Roxane
right before the men have to leave for war. Days later, Roxane comes to the war camp, and the same
day Christian finds out that Cyrano also loves Roxane.

Persuasive Essay On Latching
Introduction
Breastfeeding can be challenging, especially during the first few weeks after childbirth. It is normal to
have some problems when you start to breastfeed your new baby, even if you have breastfed before.
This document provides some solutions to the most common breastfeeding challenges.
Many common challenges are caused by poor latching. Latching refers to when your baby s mouth
attaches to your nipple to breastfeed.
How do I make sure that my baby is latched and positioned properly?
Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down, with your neck and back well supported.
Place a pillow or rolled up blanket under your baby to bring him or her to the level of your breast (if
you are seated).

Nipple pain.
Cracked or sore nipples
Cracked or sore nipples are often caused by inadequate latching. Soreness can also happen if your
baby is not positioned properly at your breast.
What is the solution?
Make sure your baby is latched and positioned correctly.
To help your breasts stay moisturized and healthy:
Avoid using soap on your nipples.
Wear a supportive bra. Avoid wearing underwire style bras or tight bras.
After each feeding, air dry your nipples for 3 4 minutes.
Use only cotton bra pads to absorb breast milk leakage. Be sure to change the pads if they become
soaked with milk.
Use lanolin, olive oil, or coconut oil on your nipples after nursing. If you use pure lanolin, you do not
need to wash it off before feeding your baby again. Pure lanolin is not poisonous (toxic) to your baby.
Use your hand to squeeze out (express) a few drops of breast milk, gently massage the milk into your
nipples, and let your nipple air dry.
When should I contact my health care provider?
If you have nipple pain, cracking, or soreness that lasts longer than 1 week, contact your health care
provider or lactation consultant. Nipple cracking and soreness are common during the first week after
birth, but nipple pain is never normal.
Breast engorgement
Breast engorgement is the overfilling of your breasts with breast milk. This can make your breasts

Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children Essay
Have you ever dreamed about the impossible? The impossible just became possible. This Book is
called Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children. This book was written by Ransom Riggs. The
main character is Jacob Portman. This story takes place in present day Florida and also on Cairnholm
Island. In this book Jacob thinks he has the most boring life ever until strange things start happening.
Grandpa Portman had always told him seemingly magical fairy tales of children with peculiarities. It

He doesn t really face challenges in the beginning instead he hides from them and he isn t very
confident facing them. To begin with, Jacob hid away from the rest of the world because he was
scared instead of facing the world and being with his friends. When his grandpa died and he started
having nightmares and feeling paranoid he just stayed in his house the whole time. For example on
page 39 it says, Sometimes that sick panicky feeling would flood over me like it did that night...My
solution was to stop leaving the house. Additionally, Jacob didn t try to resolve any problems instead
he would just get upset and make things worse. To prove this statement you can go to page 42 in the
book where it says, He sprang out of the chair and shoved me so hard I almost fell off the roof. I
yelled at him to get out but he was already leaving. This shows that Jacob just didn t want to deal with
problems he just wanted to shy away from them. To conclude this paragraph, Jacob wasn t very
confident and he just wanted to avoid all of his challenges instead of facing

How Far Do You Agree World War One Was Mainly Responsible...
How far do you agree that world war one was mainly responsible for the 1917 revolution? World war
one was one of the main reasons for the breakout of revolution in 1917, however other factors can be
brought about to suggest that it wasn t only the main reason for the breakout of revolution in 1917.
Aspects such as the decisions and actions of Tsar Nicholas can also be identified as important features
for the breakout of revolution alongside the social and economic strains and the lack of political
reform. All factors have characteristics to suggest that they were the main reason for the breakout of
war, however the impact of world war one can be viewed as playing the larger role on the reason for

This left the Russian people isolated as they had little, if any means of income to buy basic necessary
items. Too make matters worse for both the Tsar and the Russian people, little action was taken in aid
of these inconveniences. Before the war Moscow had been receiving 2200 railway wagons of grain
per month in 1914; however by Christmas 1916 this reduced to only 300. This therefore resulted in the
accumulative discontent of the Russian people which only made matters worse for the Tsar as the
likely hood of the occurrence of revolution was high. The lack of political reform can accountably be
taken in as one of the main reasons for the outbreak of revolution in 1917. The union of zemstva
provided medical facilities for the army; however the government did not know how to incorporate
them into its own war effort. Moreover, the progressive Bloc called for a government of public
confidence in which the ministers would be responsible for the Duma. However, Tsar Nicholas
refused to listen to any of their demands, this resulted in the ministers who campaigned for change and
reform; were either dismissed or resigned. Due to the fact that no reform was made, all the blame was
directed to the Nicholas. Reform was needed greatly at this time yet no reform occurred, this
accumulated the ever rising dissatisfaction of the Russian people. Furthermore, as a result of Nicholas
s lack of political reform

Alfred Hitchcock s Elements Of Suspense In Psychodo

Final Paper
Alfred Hitchcock was a renowned film director known for his elements of suspense and psychological
thrillers. His most popular work psycho uses the story of a phoenix secretary (Marion Crane) who
embezzled money from a client to unveil the psycho in the male character (Norman Bates). The
success of the film is greatly relied on Hitchcock s unique techniques in creating tension and suspense.
Elements that contributed to the success of the film include motifs and parallels, and perspective used.
The most prominent motifs in psycho are birds, eyes and mirrors. Hitchcock uses birds to support the
theme of duality in the film. In one critical scene where Norman ... Show more content on

These instances lead to eyes taking significance in the film, and implicates the audience on the note
that the film is showing what should not be seen. Unlike Norman s other victims that were not
detailed, Mrs. Bates and Marion s eyes depict a watchful one that threatens Norman therefore leading
to their deaths. Mirrors were also used throughout the film to enhance the theme of duality. After
Marion stole the money, Hitchcock recurrently compares her with her reflection (like in the used car
lot), even though she rarely looks at it. Marion s refusal to look at own reflection in the mirror
underscores that she is going to keep going in the path that she has chosen and not look back. Marion s
denial of her reflection led her to the Bates Motel where she met with her death.
The shift in narration of Psycho has been a topic worth discussing in the world of film making. Most
films employ a system of restricted narration, which conveys external events as well as the
knowledge, thoughts and feelings of one or two major characters without the intervention of an
explicit narrator. But there is a significant shift of narration from restricted to omniscient that
Hitchcock used to keep the audience engaged with the film. The early scenes and exposition of the
film is focused on Marion. The audience see things from the perspective of Marion her theft, her
relationships as an employee and as a woman. Different point of view shots highlights that the film is
focused on Marion s

Chronicle Of A Death Foretold Analysis
Chronicle of a Death Foretold: Termination Through Tradition Tradition typically serves as the heart
of societal and cultural health. In the case of Gabriel GarcĂa MĂĄrquez s novella Chronicle of a Death
Foretold, this could not be further from the truth. The story depicts a scandal between a scantily
married woman named Angela Vicario who reveals to her groom Bayardo San RomĂĄn that she has
already been deflowered. Following the tradition in this town, she is returned to her mother for a
beating. Angela s twin brothers are told that the culprit is Santiago Nasar, a rich townsman, and the
brothers, again following the rules of the town, set out to murder him. Although the brothers do not
want to complete the task, the people who know about the plan, namely everyone in the town, fails to
intervene. MĂĄrquez s judgement about harmful traditions slowly exposes itself through the careful and
disordered irony of the text to show how a ritualized society defaces the purpose of honor. Soon after
Bayardo and Angela s wedding, the bishop, an important figure to the town, seemingly makes an
appearance: What happened, according to her, was that the boat whistle let off a shower of compressed
steam as it passed by the docks, and it soaked those who were closest to the edge. It was a fleeting
illusion: the bishop began to make the sign of the cross in the air opposite the crowd on the pier, and
he kept on doing it mechanically afterwards, without malice or inspiration, until the boat

It is quite clear that I am not a participative and also not an authoritarian leader because I stand

authoritarian leader have to get less than 5 but as I have score 12, I can say that I am more of a
participative leader not an Authotarian leader because I am more towards participative leadership
style. The participative style refers to the teamwork approach and I feel that I have this characteristic
more than any leadership style because I also like to do teamwork. I usually confer with group
members before making decision so it means I have the quality of a consultative leader which means I
also fall in the subtypes of a participative leader. But I can also be an Authoritarian leader when it will

At the same time, fluctuation of the crude oil price has put pressure on the price level and economic
growth in China. In this research I ask: What is the interaction between crude oil price and China s
economy? A considerable amount of economic literature have analyzed the impact of oil price on the
GDP in developed countries. Such as Jimenez and Sanchez (2004) have studied links between oil
price and macro economy in several industrial OECD countries. They found that oil price fluctuations
have considerable effects on economic activities. We do not know the interaction between the crude
oil price and economy in China. China is interesting in this content because it has large population
which affects the demand for crude oil. Also, China s GDP is growing rapidly, and the dependence on
imported oil have increased in China, but only a few studies have focused on China. In Ghalayini s
study, by investigating the relationship between oil price and economic growth, the researcher found
that as economic growth increases the demand for oil increases which pushes up the oil prices. While
the increase in GDP growth and economic activity have led to an increase in the energy demand, a
feedback relationship exists which can mitigate this effect (Ghalayini, 2011). In this research, I will
use granger causality test and regression models to study interaction between the crude oil price and
GDP in China. There are several alternative approaches,

Recommendation Letter For Alicia Panganiban
To the Graduate School Committee: I am pleased to write a recommendation letter for Alicia
Panganiban, our International Student Awardee for Academic Excellence and Display of Christian
Character and Commitment. I have known Alicia for more than six years as my student in both core
and elective courses at a Master s level. I came to know her very well when she was my intern in
summer of 2011, and hired her as my graduate assistant the following semester until her optional
practical training, which ended June 2014. I have been well pleased with her as my graduate assistant
that after her time at Regent, we then began planning on launching the Ambassador Leadership
Institute, a non profit that aims to provide a Christian value base ambassadorial training to leaders who
will become role models, solution providers, and key influencers in their respective communities.
Alicia has consistently been an outstanding student, researcher, and leader both in and out the
classroom. Her work ethic and energy is among the best from students I have interacted with over the
last twenty eight years in my faculty role. Amidst the rigorous requirements of her courses as a full

TurkeyÂŽs Aim to Join the European Union Essay
Amongst the member states of the European Union, the longstanding debate on Turkey s accession
raises a number of significant questions with regards to the identity, power and future of the Union.
Turkey is a key location both economically and tactically, making it a political hotspot for the whole
of Europe and Asia, so why then has so little progress been made within its application for
membership status?
In 1963, it was decided by what was then The European Economic Commission that Turkey was a
suitable applicant for membership and so in 1987 they applied to join. In 2005 accession negotiations

Similarly, as Turkey is a loyal ally to NATO, which gives it the added bonus of a substantial military
power, to reject its membership to the EU can be viewed as undermining the integrity of the Union.
Turkey could develop into a major power within the region, which the EU would be wise to have as an
ally, rather than a rival.
As a Eurasian country, Turkey sits on the crossroads of Europe and Asia and could potentially change
the current culture clash between the two continents, acting as a middle ground if it was granted
membership, however with The Bosphorus being classed as the main border delineation of Europe and
Asia it means that just 4% of Turkey actually lies within Europe with the majority being in Asia
(McCormick, 2011). This causes a debate on whether or not Turkey can actually be defined as
European or whether its accession would cause an identity shift within the EU that could potentially
result in drastic geopolitical repercussions. However the geographical location of Turkey would also
provide the European Union with a number of substantial benefits. The strategic location of Turkey in
the heart of Europe, Asia and the Middle East would allow the EU to benefit in several key areas such
as international crime, reusable energy and economy. With Turkey s aid in creating a mutual ground

Greek Art Evolution
The evolution of Greek art has expanded over hundreds of years and has contributed to many artistic
developments, especially in sculpture. The depiction of the human figure has drastically changed over
time from an undeveloped form to a more detailed rendering. This transformation can be seen from
Early Bronze Age figurine models to Ancient Hellenistic sculptures. Examples of early figurines are
small with disproportionate and unusual bodies while much later sculptures are large scale showing
the importance of corrected bodily proportions. Tiny figures generally had the same poses lacking
facial and body definition details while later sculptures have exquisite, clear facial features, and
deeply chiseled bodies. The developments of sculptors overtime produced advancements in Greek
sculpture. This can be seen especially in certain sculpture subjects like Greek athletics, mythology,
political depictions, as well as scenes of tragedy or death. Athletic Greek sculpture was an important
way in which statues were intended to immortalize successful athletes. The development of these
statues became more realistic and idealized as time progressed, especially ... Show more content on

Abstract
Faults play important roles in oil migration and accumulation. Faults can not only promote oil
migration, but also trap and accumulate oil. This paper explores some methods to find out a fault and
confirm it is opened or closed. Zhang, C., Xie, X.N., Jiang, T., Liu, X.F. (2005) fou nd out the
properties of faults in the BZ25 1 oilfield of Bohai basin by using some geophysics and geochemistry
reflect of formation waters and oils. This paper explains some causes of di fferent properties of faults.
Different kinds of faults, like the Vicksburg growth fault of South Texas and faults in the BZ25 1
oilfield, lead to different results of oil migration, accumula tion and distribution.
Keywords: fault; oil migration; opened fault; closed fault
Introduction
There are more than one trillion barrels of crude oil in the whole world. And there are also different
kinds of faults under the ground. Fault is a crack in the crust of earth resulting from the displacement
of one side with respect to the other. Oil migration means that oil spo ntaneously move from high
pressure area to low pressure area, oils always move upward. Oil accumulation means that oil always
accumulate in their relatively smallest potential energy area. Fault plays very important role in the oil
migration and accumulation. Faults can be di vided to opened faults and closed faults which are
relative concepts. Opened

Gender Role Portrayal In Disney Princess Films

Beyond the Prince: A Study of Gender Role Portrayal in Disney Princess Films
Introduction
This study will examine princess films and decide whether color of the princesses has an effect on the
gender role portrayal of each character. By using a content analysis, this research will identify the
difference in each princess with respect to their color.
It is important to identify the role the Disney Corporation plays in today s culture. The company has
numerous princesses films with identical merchandise. Parents buy the items for their children and
through movie and merchandise; children are being informed such as how a lady ought to act, think or
dress. Gender role in Disney princess films remains important because of the messages it shows to
children. We need to identify whether gender roles presented in the movies modulate the intellect of a
woman in a modern world or whether Disney princesses are restricted to the female gender roles such
as nurturing and submissiveness. In addition, we need to study whether the messages are diverse for
varied princesses.

In other words, children learn roles through outside experiences that show how others or their
favourite character does a particular task. The social construction perspective helps us understand how
these roles are created. Berger and Luckmann in The Social Construction of Reality (1966), examined
how the social world is constructed. This theory lays a groundwork for understanding specific social
constructions including gender and race representations in the media. From this perspective the
children are limited in their capabilities to act because the objective reality predetermines the actions

Johnny Cupcakes, a Multi-Million Dollar Clothing Brand
Johnny Cupcakes
Chelsea LaRese
Johnny Cupcakes is a multi million dollar clothing brand. The brand was founded in 2001 by Johnny
Earle. One of Johnny s acquired nicknames was Johnny cupcakes. He thought it would be funny to
make a couple random shirts that said Johnny Cupcakes on them for the fun of it (Earle, 2012). After
massive interest in these shirts, he decided to continue to make more and change up the designs. In
2001, Johnny stated, the band I was in, On Broken Wings, finally got signed to a record label and we
began to tour full time (Earle, 2012). This opened up Johnny and his t shirts to a larger crowd of
customers in different parts of the country. This boosted the brand s popularity and Johnny decided ...

People not only crave exclusiveness, but will pay top dollar for it. Because they re collectibles and not
just apparel, customers are willing to pay $60 for a Johnny Cupcakes shirt and even stand in line for a
new release like kids waiting for concert tickets (Spaeder 2007). This exclusiveness plays off of our
cultures social classes. Most Americans want to be in a better social class. Exclusiveness is a trait that
is common in the highest of classes. The limited edition shirts not only sets the standards for someone
s social status, but also keeps inventory at a low, making sure the products that are produced are sold.
Having limited edition shirts erases much of the risks and fears of the changing trends of JC s market.
Since there are only a handful of the shirts available, they are long gone before the design and style
gets soggy. Also, this allows the company to be very flexible with the changing market.
The two major internal factors that impact the organization are how they enhance the customer
experience and their product packaging. These are two very important factors that help create the
Johnny Cupcakes brand. They are part of the JC culture and without them, the brand wouldn t be what
it is today. Part of the customer experience lies in JC s three retail store locations. They re set up just
like bakeries, complete with glass display shelves, employees wearing aprons and the smell of vanilla

The s Opinion On Monogamy
Gordeau s opinion on monogamy relates well in theory and reinforces current societal norms .
However, her argument lacks research to support her view, while giving few examples of the benefits
of monogamy she relinquishes any depth and breadth in her opinion, leaving out any clarity on this
matter.
Gordeau s points...
Humans are among just 3% of mammals that form pair bonds, she says. (Taverner p. 74) Only 3% of
mammals pair bonds is an extremely low percentage and does not support the case for monogamy.
Moreover, I would argue this is a point for non monogamy and state it is more natural not to mate for
life than to continue a monogamous relationship, because 97% mammals do not form pair bonds.

It created more variety in the woman s family line, doubled a man s potential offspring, and served as
an insurance policy against spouses death. (Taverner p. 74) Gourdeau stating this point supports non
monogamous relationships instead of monogamous because it gives an example of why cheating has
benefits. Furthermore, she then dives into a study about the difficulties of staying faithful.
Anderson s study on monogamy doesn t work because of our pornified culture, people will become
habituated (bored) with their partner faster and experience an increased desire to see sex with others.
(Taverner p. 74) Again, Gourdeau makes a statement in her article providing research on opposing her
position on monogamy. Moreover, she only states Anderson sampled a narrow demographic, however,
she never explains how this point supports monogamy.
Gourdeau states, humans want sex with multiple people it doesn t mean they need it or that it s in their
best interest. (Taverner p. 75) Personally I agree with this statement. However, much can be said for
flipping this statement around for non monogamous relationships. Moreover, wellness is about finding
a balance. Individuals could seek to find a balance with multiple partners.
Logical and/or theoretical benefits of monogamy include; a personal more intimate relationship that
will assist with self esteem, avoidance of STI s, conforms with social norms,

Describe The Evolution Of The Two-Party System
The election in 1796 was the first to have two major political parties, the Federalists and the
Democratic Republicans. The Federalists believed themselves to be friends of order and good
government, while the Democratic Republicans believed themselves to be supporters of independence,
friends to equal rights, and warm advocates of free elective government. These two parties began the
system that we now use to elect new presidents. Lamentably, we now have ended up with a system in
which there is no compromise, only two parties fighting each other continually, and where we end up
with only two dissatisfactory choices. The two party system is a system where there are only two
options to vote for because only parties with a lot of people have a chance to be noticed, other parties
have too few people to get a chance to win the election. Nowadays the two parties most people vote
for are the Democrat party and the Republican party. The Republicans ideology is American
conservatism, which involves support of free market capitalism, free enterprise, a strong national
defense, and de regulation and restrictions on labor unions. The Democrats ideology is mostly
centrists an progressives, whose philosophy is of modern liberalism which advocates social and ...

The Revolution of 1688
The Glorious Revolution, also known as the Revolution of 1688, refers to the events of 1688 1689.
These events eventually led to the overthrow of Catholic King James II and the ascension (of William
III and Mary II) to the English throne. These events also produced a significant shift in the
relationship between the monarchy and parliament. This paper will discuss the overthrow of King
James II, the rebellion and revolt and the consequences as well as the global effects of the Revolution
in order to explain the importance of this event in world history. James II, king of England from 1685
1688, inherited a very strong position when he came to power. When James II first came to the throne,
he was not very well liked in the eyes of the people of Great Britain, simply because he was a Roman
Catholic King to an overwhelmingly Protestant nation. Like most politicians, James made promises to
protect the peoples personal beliefs. At the beginning of his reign, James had promised to respect his
subject s rights and liberties and protect the Protestant establishment in the church. Despite these
promises, James decided to advance the Catholic tenets over the protestants. He did this by issuing
dispensations to Catholics including the Test Act of 1673, promoting the public celebration of mass,
forcing the universities to admit Catholics, issued a Declaration of Indulgences and also engaged a
campaign to pack Parliament so that he would be able to establish Catholic tolerance by

My Life Of A Doctor
A stethoscope, box of bandages, syringe, and thermometer all made of plastic and enclosed in a small
case with a red cross imprinted on the front. These items had been some of my favorite childhood toys
and represent how long I have wanted to become a doctor. Apart from a brief carpentry phase when I
was 7, I honestly cannot recall a time when my mind was not focused on a future career in medicine.
Part of this early interest was undoubtedly spurred by my family s history in the field. I have multiple
family members who have been nurses or physicians; however, the largest influence was my Father
whom I have looked up to as a role model and example of the kind of doctor that I want to be. I loved
that my Dad was a doctor. I realized the importance of his career, but mostly I loved always having
someone there to help me through all of my minor and major childhood traumas. When I was young
and received a gruesome 4th of July sparkler wound, my Dad was able to calm me down and make me
feel safe. Although I may have squirmed and cried, I knew my Father could help me because I knew
that he was a Doctor and what that meant. I knew the amount of training he had received, the years of
school and residency, and most importantly that I could trust him to take care of me. That level of trust
is something that I aspire to gain in the future.
As I grew older I became more interested in medicine but for different reasons. The experience that

Analysis Of The Mazurkas
This mazurka is in D major and comes from a set of four mazurkas composed by Chopin in 1838. It
has the tempo marking Vivace, which suggests a lighthearted and energetic rendition of the music. The
accent is consistently on the third beat to create the typical mazurka dance effect, and it adds interest
and character to the playing. All the mazurkas composed by Chopin have the characteristic of the
traditional Polish dance and evoke the feeling of nationalism because of Chopin s strong identification
with his homeland. These short compositions are interesting in nature and have the strong tendency to
reveal deep feelings and pathos in the listeners even if they are very condensed.
The piece starts with an accent on the third beat. The left hand has a staccato note on the first strong
beat and an accent on the last third beat. It is arguable whether such a pattern applies to the right hand
as well, but most likely it does, since the right hand also has the accompanying layer added
specifically to the second and third beats. It should be noted that although Chopin provided the usual
pedal marking which changes once per measure, it is still better to execute the staccato as if there is no
pedal held down to produce a sonic effect that is different than otherwise.
The overall structure is a simple ternary form with the middle section divided into two repeating parts
and a short coda that leads to the end. It should be noted that despite the fact that there are a lot of

Positive Effects Of Four Day Workweek
Work life balance has been a popular topic for employees across all age and occupations for years,
representing a rising concern of contemporary human resource management and labor policies. This
topic has attracted the attention from the millennium generation, who is stepping into the market and
beginning to grow a career. Therefore considering the increasing demand, well designed workforce
planning with diverse scheduling options offered to employees appears to be extra credits for most
companies. This research paper aims to communicate the positive effects of four day workweek, and
providing support for why employers should adopt this schedule for employees and themselves
through 1) introducing background and history of four day workweek as a work schedule option and
2) demonstrating benefits of four day workweek from both employer and employees perspectives.
Background and History of Four day Workweek Schedule
Before introducing the workplace issues related to the development of four day workweek, a clear
definition of this schedule is needed. According to Department of Labor (n.d.), A workweek is a fixed
and regularly recurring period of 168 hours, or seven consecutive 24 hour periods. The workweek
does not have to coincide with the calendar week, but instead it may begin on any day of the week and
at any hour of the day. It might be the four day, 32 hour workweek more leisure, less work (Wernette

Between 1870 and 1914, European countries ceased about ninety percent of Africa. Native Africans

the profitable slave trade in Africa, due to abolishing of slavery, Europeans explored for new

Charactersitics of a Museum, Questions and Answers

As I remember from my travelling experience, a museum exists in each city, even the smallest one and
sometimes even in villages. Visiting a museum at least once a year is a compulsory part of any school

The most obvious aim is an educational one since museums serve for society in order to conserve,

the opportunity to determine their place in the world, understand their cultural identity, develop self

known for his influence on fashion throughout the world with his product line, Yeezy Season, known
for selling out in just minutes, making it into high end fashion shows such as New York and Paris

from his bold, spontaneous moments where he speaks his mind in the national spotlight, shocking the
generation to push his agenda (Flournoy 1). Kanye uses his various platforms, such as music and
fashion, so his voice can be heard (Caramanica 1).

positive inspiration and symbol of power to the Millennial Generation encouraging us to be dauntless
and original, in order to fight for what is right (Caramanica 1). ... Show more content on

Garrett Mraz, a Tarleton freshman, backed this up by giving high praises to music and saying it means
everything, it calms, it relaxes, also it can motivate and keep focus. It s great for our moods, it s
essential. Everyone listens to music daily. Everyone you walk past is either singing a song or listening

A Discussion Of Herodotus And Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca
It s a New World
(A discussion of Herodotus, Cabeza de Vaca and their explorations)
When you stumble upon something new, what s your first instinct? Sharing the information with
others, soaking in the sight you re seeing, or even trying to document everything that is in front of
you. The discovery of new land, people, and their way of life is one for the record books. An event
like this will go down in history, and so will the person that did the discovering. This was the case for
Herodotus and Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca. Herodotus was born in Halicarnassus, what today is
known as turkey. He is considered by most to have been the first Greek historian, therefore the first
European historian. He was a great traveler, visiting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His travels lead him more around different parts of America and not different countries. An article,
titled Álvar NĂșñez Cabeza de Vaca: The Great Pedestrian of North and South America, briefly
describes some of the whereabouts of Cabeza de Vaca as he traveled around America. All five rafts
eventually wrecked along the coast of Texas... Soon Cabeza de Vaca was traveling into the
southeastern Texas mainland... Cabeza de Vaca and the other castaways decided to escape their Indian
captors and marched south and west hoping to find their Spanish compatriots in central Mexico,
(Álvar NĂșñez Cabeza de Vaca: The Great Pedestrian of North and South America). From this portion
of the article, it is understood that Cabeza de Vaca did traveling, just as Herodotus did. Both men were
also known for their firsts. Cabeza de Vaca was one of the first to visit America and stay with the
tribes that inhabited land. Also one of the first from his country to document what he had seen while
there. Herodotus was also known for his firsts. Scott W. Nixon, in his article, elaborates on this.
Herodotus, is thought of as the first Greek and thereby the first Western historian...Those who did
archaeological exploration in Egypt and Mesopotamia found Herodotus writings on these subjects
useful, (Nixon). His first were very important not only for that time but for people in the future as
well. Nixon continues by saying, His writings also became valuable to biblical scholars in their

Ebola Virus Outbreak Of West Africa
Imagine being isolated from your friends and family, suffering from an illness that feels as though
something is burning through your body, while watching people around you dying of the same illness
and wondering when it will be your turn to proverbially kick the bucket . For many survivors of the
Ebola disease, this situation would be far too familiar. In March 2014, the Ebola virus outbreak began
in West Africa, mainly in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea. According to a recent figure from the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there have been a total of 28616 Ebola cases and
11310 deaths from Ebola in these three countries (2014). There were many unpalatable symptoms of
the disease, such as fever, headache, joint and muscle pain, widespread bleeding, diarrhea and other
physical symptoms leading to high mortality (Van Bortel). If one is lucky enough to survive this virus,
however, there are just as many negative results of the virus as there were symptoms. Many West
African survivors have to deal with their new negative image, negative lasting health effects, or a
decrease in financial stability due to their inability to work or find work after they recover. Now that
the West African Ebola epidemic is over, (Liberia) there remains the task of assimilating the survivors
back into their societies. Moreover, the best solution to counteract the effects of the Ebola virus on
survivors is to expand upon the Ebola survivor support organizations already in place.

  • 3. Did the Romans civilise Britain This essay is about how Britain changed Britain, and how they brought civilisation to it. The definition of civilisation has been questioned over the centuries. There are many different meanings of the word but in the Romans case it is The type of culture and society developed by a particular nation or in a particular era or time. In other words, this is what the Romans did to Britain. In particular, I will discuss the Roman invasion and the effect the Romans had on housing and roads. Before the Romans invaded, Celts lived in Britain. There were no towns so most people lived in villages and were farmers. People were separated into tribes ruled by kings or chiefs. For example calendars, the census, indoor plumbing, fruit and vegetables, the police and even cats! One of the most influential things the Romans did for Britain was build roads. When the Romans established in Britain they built lots of high quality straight roads. The main roads that the Romans built were from London to York (via Lincoln), London to Wroxeter (a village in Shropshire), London to Dover and Exeter to York via Bath, Cirencester and Lincoln. The new roads meant that it was much easier and simpler for the emperors to control their empire. This was because they could send messages and orders quickly. The roads helped Romans to trade with each other. They also provided people with a much easier option than to walk. The roads were mainly built by Roman soldiers as the authorities could guarantee that the Roman soldiers would do the best they could for the sake of Rome. The Roman roads were used a lot but many had to walk as chariots and horses were expensive. In spite of all the work that was put in with the Roman roads, when they left Britain the Britons did not make use of the roads. The Britons did not use the villas or baths either because of their close association to the Romans. Moreover the Britons did not have any knowledge of how to repair the roads because they ... • 4. Gender Stereotypes In Disney Films Discussion In the current study, we sought to analyze the portrayal of gender stereotypical behaviors in Disney films. We developed this study based on previous findings from Kirsch and Murnen (2013), (Junn,1997), and Leaper et al (2002) and because of the potential implications of Disney s portrayal of gender stereotypes in their films. We developed two hypotheses to test this. First, we hypothesized that male characters would exhibit masculine stereotypical behaviors such as giving orders and being aggressive, more often than feminine stereotypical behaviors and women would display feminine stereotypical behaviors such as performing domestic duties and primping, more often than masculine stereotypical behaviors in Disney movies. Second, we hypothesized that women would have more fluidity in these Disney films, meaning they are more likely to exhibit masculine stereotypical behaviors as compared to males demonstrating feminine stereotypical behaviors. We only watched 5 of the over 150 Disney produced films and thus perhaps our results are by chance. Inspector Goole creates a massive presence within An Inspector Calls and through him we are able to explore each character and Priestly himself. The Inspector is a vital character within the play and allows Priestly to channel through his thoughts, feelings and messages to society by creating the seemingly omniscient Inspector Goole. In the essay I will illustrate the importance of the Inspector and demonstrate how Priestly presents him. Priestly uses a dramatic device of lighting change pink and intimate to brighter and harder to really show how the Inspector is different to the others and this in turn reflects his harsh personality and how the atmosphere changes so much when he s around relating to his other world presence. Mrs Birling is a character that is affected by the Inspector in a superficial way: she s more bothered about what other people will think about her being involved than how she actually helped kill a poor woman. We see the two contrasts of how Sheila reacts and how Mrs Birling reacts which is effective as Priestly is able to demonstrate that the Inspector is like a conscience of the family; like in the real world some people are able to ignore their conscience and not feel bad whereas some people really feel their guilt when they have done something wrong. This therefore is why the Inspector is so important in the play, and in his last speech he makes reference to the World War 1 and 2 and how people had still not learnt their lesson (used dramatic irony but applies it to the Birling s situation) and sets it straight to them that if they have ... Final Paper Alfred Hitchcock was a renowned film director known for his elements of suspense and psychological thrillers. His most popular work psycho uses the story of a phoenix secretary (Marion Crane) who embezzled money from a client to unveil the psycho in the male character (Norman Bates). The success of the film is greatly relied on Hitchcock s unique techniques in creating tension and suspense. Elements that contributed to the success of the film include motifs and parallels, and perspective used. The most prominent motifs in psycho are birds, eyes and mirrors. Hitchcock uses birds to support the theme of duality in the film. In one critical scene where Norman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These instances lead to eyes taking significance in the film, and implicates the audience on the note that the film is showing what should not be seen. Unlike Norman s other victims that were not detailed, Mrs. Bates and Marion s eyes depict a watchful one that threatens Norman therefore leading to their deaths. Mirrors were also used throughout the film to enhance the theme of duality. After Marion stole the money, Hitchcock recurrently compares her with her reflection (like in the used car lot), even though she rarely looks at it. Marion s refusal to look at own reflection in the mirror underscores that she is going to keep going in the path that she has chosen and not look back. Marion s denial of her reflection led her to the Bates Motel where she met with her death. The shift in narration of Psycho has been a topic worth discussing in the world of film making. Most films employ a system of restricted narration, which conveys external events as well as the knowledge, thoughts and feelings of one or two major characters without the intervention of an explicit narrator. But there is a significant shift of narration from restricted to omniscient that Hitchcock used to keep the audience engaged with the film. The early scenes and exposition of the film is focused on Marion. The audience see things from the perspective of Marion her theft, her relationships as an employee and as a woman. In the case of Gabriel GarcĂa MĂĄrquez s novella Chronicle of a Death Foretold, this could not be further from the truth. The story depicts a scandal between a scantily married woman named Angela Vicario who reveals to her groom Bayardo San RomĂĄn that she has already been deflowered. Following the tradition in this town, she is returned to her mother for a beating. Angela s twin brothers are told that the culprit is Santiago Nasar, a rich townsman, and the brothers, again following the rules of the town, set out to murder him. Although the brothers do not want to complete the task, the people who know about the plan, namely everyone in the town, fails to intervene. MĂĄrquez s judgement about harmful traditions slowly exposes itself through the careful and disordered irony of the text to show how a ritualized society defaces the purpose of honor. Soon after Bayardo and Angela s wedding, the bishop, an important figure to the town, seemingly makes an appearance: What happened, according to her, was that the boat whistle let off a shower of compressed steam as it passed by the docks, and it soaked those who were closest to the edge. The depiction of the human figure has drastically changed over time from an undeveloped form to a more detailed rendering. This transformation can be seen from Early Bronze Age figurine models to Ancient Hellenistic sculptures. Examples of early figurines are small with disproportionate and unusual bodies while much later sculptures are large scale showing the importance of corrected bodily proportions. Tiny figures generally had the same poses lacking facial and body definition details while later sculptures have exquisite, clear facial features, and deeply chiseled bodies. The developments of sculptors overtime produced advancements in Greek sculpture. This can be seen especially in certain sculpture subjects like Greek athletics, mythology, political depictions, as well as scenes of tragedy or death. Different kinds of faults, like the Vicksburg growth fault of South Texas and faults in the BZ25 1 oilfield, lead to different results of oil migration, accumula tion and distribution. Keywords: fault; oil migration; opened fault; closed fault Introduction There are more than one trillion barrels of crude oil in the whole world. And there are also different kinds of faults under the ground. Fault is a crack in the crust of earth resulting from the displacement of one side with respect to the other. Gender Role Portrayal In Disney Princess Films Title Beyond the Prince: A Study of Gender Role Portrayal in Disney Princess Films Introduction This study will examine princess films and decide whether color of the princesses has an effect on the gender role portrayal of each character. By using a content analysis, this research will identify the difference in each princess with respect to their color. It is important to identify the role the Disney Corporation plays in today s culture. The company has numerous princesses films with identical merchandise. Parents buy the items for their children and through movie and merchandise; children are being informed such as how a lady ought to act, think or dress. Gender role in Disney princess films remains important because of the messages it shows to children. We need to identify whether gender roles presented in the movies modulate the intellect of a woman in a modern world or whether Disney princesses are restricted to the female gender roles such as nurturing and submissiveness. This exclusiveness plays off of our cultures social classes. Most Americans want to be in a better social class. Exclusiveness is a trait that is common in the highest of classes. Having limited edition shirts erases much of the risks and fears of the changing trends of JC s market. Since there are only a handful of the shirts available, they are long gone before the design and style gets soggy. Also, this allows the company to be very flexible with the changing market. The Federalists believed themselves to be friends of order and good government, while the Democratic Republicans believed themselves to be supporters of independence, friends to equal rights, and warm advocates of free elective government. These two parties began the system that we now use to elect new presidents. Lamentably, we now have ended up with a system in which there is no compromise, only two parties fighting each other continually, and where we end up with only two dissatisfactory choices. The two party system is a system where there are only two options to vote for because only parties with a lot of people have a chance to be noticed, other parties have too few people to get a chance to win the election. Nowadays the two parties most people vote for are the Democrat party and the Republican party. These events eventually led to the overthrow of Catholic King James II and the ascension (of William III and Mary II) to the English throne. These events also produced a significant shift in the relationship between the monarchy and parliament. This paper will discuss the overthrow of King James II, the rebellion and revolt and the consequences as well as the global effects of the Revolution in order to explain the importance of this event in world history. James II, king of England from 1685 1688, inherited a very strong position when he came to power. When James II first came to the throne, he was not very well liked in the eyes of the people of Great Britain, simply because he was a Roman Catholic King to an overwhelmingly Protestant nation. Like most politicians, James made promises to protect the peoples personal beliefs. At the beginning of his reign, James had promised to respect his subject s rights and liberties and protect the Protestant establishment in the church. Despite these promises, James decided to advance the Catholic tenets over the protestants. He did this by issuing dispensations to Catholics including the Test Act of 1673, promoting the public celebration of mass, forcing the universities to admit Catholics, issued a Declaration of Indulgences and also engaged a campaign to pack Parliament so that he would be able to establish Catholic tolerance by ... It has the tempo marking Vivace, which suggests a lighthearted and energetic rendition of the music. The accent is consistently on the third beat to create the typical mazurka dance effect, and it adds interest and character to the playing. All the mazurkas composed by Chopin have the characteristic of the traditional Polish dance and evoke the feeling of nationalism because of Chopin s strong identification with his homeland. These short compositions are interesting in nature and have the strong tendency to reveal deep feelings and pathos in the listeners even if they are very condensed. The piece starts with an accent on the third beat. The left hand has a staccato note on the first strong beat and an accent on the last third beat. It is arguable whether such a pattern applies to the right hand as well, but most likely it does, since the right hand also has the accompanying layer added specifically to the second and third beats. It should be noted that although Chopin provided the usual pedal marking which changes once per measure, it is still better to execute the staccato as if there is no pedal held down to produce a sonic effect that is different than otherwise. The overall structure is a simple ternary form with the middle section divided into two repeating parts and a short coda that leads to the end. Ebola Virus Outbreak Of West Africa Imagine being isolated from your friends and family, suffering from an illness that feels as though something is burning through your body, while watching people around you dying of the same illness and wondering when it will be your turn to proverbially kick the bucket . For many survivors of the Ebola disease, this situation would be far too familiar. In March 2014, the Ebola virus outbreak began in West Africa, mainly in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea.
