Types Of Courtly Performance During The Modern Court
In the early modern court, the illusion of power could be just as important as power itself. If
courtiers participated in the various performances of the court, they had the potential to gain
significant amounts of influence and prestige. These types of courtly performances were shared
by monarchs, courtiers and lesser figures albeit in sometimes very distinct manners. This
performance of the court consisted of various different aspects, including: associating with
influential individuals, royal ceremonies, courtliness, and bodily performance. One type of
courtly performance, which was primarily a concern of the courtiers and lesser court figures,
was the association and ingratiation of one s self with influential court figures in order to gain
status and respect. This was a performance in that courtiers were, in a way, required to form
relationships on the basis of status and in the court friends were primarily a tool to advance one
s standing in the court. A prime example of this is William Chiffinch the Page of the Backstairs
of Charles II s court. A man of humble origins, Chiffinch was able to rise to a position of
significant power and influence through his connection to a powerful individual, the king. Like
many of Charles II s household servants... Chiffinch had begun this intimacy with the king before
the Restoration. He and his elder brother, Thomas, had been introduced to the Prince of Wales and
Charles I s Oxford camp by Bishop Duppa of Salisbury (Allen

The Role Of The Dublin Lockout Of 1913
James Larkin, the leader of the Irish Trade Union and the founder of the Irish Transport and
General Workers Union once said The employers cannot carry on industry nor accumulate
profits if they have not got the good will of the workers or their acquiescence in carrying on such
industry. In 1911, over 300,000 people lived in Dublin. The unemployment rates were high and
the average labourers wage was around one pound a week, and that was only if they had a full
week of work. Living conditions were equally as inadequate as the working wages. Lydia Carroll
and Enda Leaney found in a housing enquiry that 87,305 people lived in poverty, almost a third
of Dublin s population. 80% of families lived in one room dwellings. According to the Public
Health Report of 1913, 8,639 deaths were recorded, 1,444 were from tuberculosis and 4,642 were
from nervous, circulatory, respiratory, and digestive diseases such as diarrhoea and pneumonia due
to inadequate sanitary and nutrition.(Devine, pg 3 4) These conditions sparked many protests as
workers became desperate. James Larkinbecame a renowned figure of the movement toward a

Essay on The Lost Roanoke Colony
Jamestown is thought by most of our general population to be the first colony in the New World.
This is only half true. Jamestown is considered our first successful colony, however it was not
our first attempt at a colony. There were a few attempts to colonize the New World before
Jamestown and one in particular that is found to be interesting is Roanoke also known as the Lost
Colony. It received this name due to the fact that the colonists that settled this colony disappeared
very mysteriously. This poses the question of What happened to the people of Roanoke? There are
many different viewpoints of what occurred to the colonists and the goal here is to address each
one of them. In England, a document signed on January 7, 1587, created... Show more content on

After about a month of unloading, Fernandes decided time was drawing near for his departure
from the New World. With his departure imminent, the colony faced a dilemma. White and his
assistants all agreed that one of them needed to go back to England to secure additional supplies
for the colony. The one chosen to go was John White. On August 27, 1587, White set sail for
England in the smaller of the ships with a crew of about fifteen men. His journey was a
treacherous one due to an accident at sea that injured twelve of his crew of fifteen , virtually
disabling the ship. However, thought to be a perilous journey, White finally arrived with news of
the city of Raleigh. But there would not be a return voyage in six months as expected. Spain had
put together a mighty fleet of ships called the Spanish Armada. This caused Queen Elizabeth to
order all English ships discontinue normal business and join the effort to fight off the Spanish
fleet. Due to this and other mishaps, White did not get back to the city of Raleigh until August of
1597 which was three years later. Coincidentally, the colonist of Raleigh were gone just as the
colonist of Greenville that were left before them. There are many different possibilities that may
have occurred. It is one of the greatest mysteries with various view points. One thing all mysteries
have in common is that there are no

The Roots of Inequality
How can the entire Inca empire that consisted of millions of people be decimated by only 200
Europeans? The answer is is inequality. Inequality has been around since people started
civilizations, Mainly the Europeans. The Europeans were able to decimate entire cultures because
they had Suitable crops, domesticable animals, immunity to many diseases, and steel, and all of
those are affected by geography climate and pure luck.
To find out how the Europeans got lucky and achieved total conquest you need to know what they
had on their side. The first thing Europeans had was crops and agriculture. The Europeans started
off as hunters and gatherers, they were nomadic. Instead of settling in one place they followed the

The europeans lives with their animals, ate food with their animals and went to the bathroom in
the same place as their animals, Because they were so close to their animals germs spread very
rapidly. The Europeans had no idea that germs existed or that they got sick because of them. The
germs originated from animals and people got them because they drank their milk, ate their meat
and were in close proximity to them and thus the germs spread from animals to people. Germs
gave the Europeans a secret advantage because they could kill thousands of their enemies without
even stepping on the battlefield. The incan empire lived high up in the mountains and interacted
with very few people. They did domesticate Llamas but they did not live in very close proximity
with them so they never developed diseases and immunities. If the incans had developed
immunities to diseases then they would have not been decimated by the europeans and the only
reason they didn t develop immunities was because of geography. The incans were decimated by
geography and because they were dealt a bad hand by the world they never got to truly

Proposal On Animal Abuse
This proposal will demonstrate the link between cruelty to pet animals in families where battering
occurs. There s little data to cover this topic, but this type of abuse is very common Animal cruelty
may be a sign of a family environment that is violent or abusive (Duncan Miller, 2002) but few
studies have actually examined this link. This study will try to make that link using measurement of
qualitative data. Researching the link between violence in the home and animals is very important
because it can serve as an indicator of abuse. The animal abuser can be either a child or an adult in
the family where the abuse occurs. The Results will suggest that animal abuse may indicative of
family violence in the home. Introduction The greatest distortion of the human/animal relationship
is the act of cruelty towards animals. The legislative response to animal cruelty first became known
in North America and Europe in the beginning of the eighteenth centuries. Concern for the pain and
suffering experience of animals came about when we started humanizing animals . Animals were
allowed in the house, given a name and taken care for much like you would a child. Thomas (1983)
study found the following: It encouraged [people) to form optimistic conclusions about animal
intelligence:... it stimuВlated the notion that animals could have character and individual

Queer Theory Case Study
Queer theory was developed by Judith Butler in her post modern feminist text, Gender Trouble:
feminism and the subversion of identity (Horitar, 2015). She discussed the role that gender and
sexual orientation play in the way in which society uses the concepts in order to place individuals
in a specific category on the basis on how they behave (Guantlett, 1998; Horitar, 2015). This theory
examines the diverse ways in which current beliefs serves to reintegrate societal anticipations of
genderidentity, appearance and sexuality, it also offers a negotiation for the fragmentation of
constructed gender categories (Horitar, 2015).
According to Western society, sex defines your particular gender (feminine or masculine) which in
turn defines your true identity, for example a biological female is considered to be a women who
is anticipated, by the society in which they live, to be more sensitive and nurturing than a man and
who needs a sensual relationship with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Queer theory allows us to open our eyes to the various factors that nourish heteronormativity
promotes gender conventionality, heterosexuality, and family traditionalism as the correct way
for people to be (Oswald, Blume Marks, 2005:143) and it also helps us to understand how
structural features contribute to individuals who are permitted over others (Few Demo et al.,
2016:75; Oswald et al., 2005). Queer theory aims to destabilise what people take for granted and
allows them to ask interesting questions about individual s identities (Few Demo et al., 2016:76).
Queer theory can be seen as a radical deconstruction and subversion (Few Demo et al., 2016:85;
Green, 2007:28 29), which offers permission to the theorists using queer theory to imagine the
complication of various identities, performativities and

Attitude Towards Americans
The movement of jobs overseas has caused mounting anxiety in the United States, this anxiety
has turned to hate and fear, and is effecting the attitude towards immigrants. This stress has
caused a movement against immigrants coming into the country to begin. One presidential
candidate ran on this idea of how Americans are so afraid of change they should just build a wall
to keep everyone else out. Presidential candidate Donald Trump said I would build a great wall,
and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I ll build them very inexpensively, I will
build a great, great wall on our southern border. And I will have Mexico pay for that wall (Trump).

Determining The Unknown Concentration Of Cobalt (II) Solution
The goal of the experiment was to determine the unknown concentration of the provided Cobalt (II)
solution by using a spectrophotometer/colorimeter. The spectrophotometer was used on the
unknown solution to find the concentration of Cobalt (II). The concepts used from Beer Lambert s
Law are the absorbance and concentration of the tested solution. The equation is A=EbC. A equals
absorbance, E is the constant when identifying the species measuring the wavelength, b is the
thickness of the solution, and C is the concentration of the solution. E and b are both constant,
which makes the concentration and the absorbance directly proportional. Results resembled the
standard curve and the connection of absorbance and concentration was used to estimate... Show

Then we got then unknown Cobalt (II) solution and placed it in a cuvette to measure the light
transmittance recording it to three decimal places. Next, the unknown solution of Cobalt (II) was
placed in a 100 mL beaker and the DI water was placed in a smaller beaker to make transferring
the solutions easier. For the process of transferring each solution smoothly, a pipette will be used to
place the unknown solution and DI water into the 10 mL graduated cylinder. First, 100% of the
unknown concentration should be placed in a test tube ready to be put in the spectroscopy. Then,
using a clean pipette fill the graduated cylinder with 9 mL of the unknown solution and fill the
rest with DI water using a different clean pipette until 10 mL is reached. The concentration
solution is 90%, and 10% is the DI water which makes the new mixture. The mixture that was
just made will then be poured into a test tube that is beside the 100% concentration of the
unknown solution. The process will then be continued by pouring 8 mL unknown solution and 2
mL of DI water into the 10 mL graduated cylinder to get 80% concentration solution; which is
poured in the test tube that will be placed by the 90% concentration test tube. Again, 7 mL of the
unknown solution will be placed in the graduated cylinder along with 3 mL of DI water, which
makes 70% concentration solution and 30% DI water. The solution will then be poured into a test
tube and placed by the 80% concentration. Then, 6 mL of Cobalt (II) unknown solution was
placed with a pipette into the 10 mL graduated cylinder with 4 mL of DI water. Which makes 60%
of concentration solution and 40% DI water, and pour the new mixture into a test tube and place it
next to the 70% concentration solution. Take 50% of the unknown solution and place it in the 10

Essay on Financial Crisis of 2008 Analysis
In 2008, the US experienced the traumatic chaos of a financial downturn, whose effects rippled
throughout Europe and Asia. Many economists consider it the worst crisis since the Great
Depression, and its alarming results are still seen today, a long six years later. Truly, the recession
s daunting size and formidable wake have left no one untouched and can only beg the question:
could it have been prevented? The causes are manifold, but can be found substantially rooted in
illogical investments and greedy schemes. Before any of the risky moneymaking endeavors,
investors traditionally would have gone to the US Federal Reserve to buy treasury bills, a safe and

The banks then created a new idea linking investors to homeowners through mortgages. Ordinarily,
a mortgage broker would connect a house buying family to a mortgage lender, who would then
supply them with a mortgage. In this system, everyone is happy the mortgage broker earns a
handsome commission, the mortgage lender earns a new mortgage, and the family is now a
homeowner in a market of increasing housing prices.
In the new system, an investment banker buys the mortgage from the lender, borrowing millions of
dollars to buy thousands of mortgages, and every month he gets payments from homeowners for
each of the mortgages. The banker then consolidates all the mortgages and splits the final product
into three sections: safe, okay, and risky mortgages, which make up a collateralized debt obligation
(CDO). As homeowners pay their mortgages, money flows into each of the sections, with the safe
filling first and the risky filling last, contributing to their respective names. Credit agencies stamp
the top two safer mortgages with a triple A or triple B rating, which are then be sold to investors
who want a safe mortgage, while the risky slice is sold to hedge funds who want a risky
investment. The bankers make millions, pay back their loans, and investors also make a worthwhile
investment. So pleased are the investors, however, that they want more. Unfortunately, back at the
beginning of the cycle, the mortgage broker can no longer find qualified mortgagers

The Legal Action For Negligence Against Jimmy Farnham And...
Answer A
The major shareholder might not be successful in the legal action for negligence against Jimmy
Farnham. This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major
shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the
contract between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively
clear on the auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Г“ hГ“gartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An
auditor owes a duty of care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to
negligence on the part of the auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort
(Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). A claim of liability by a third party to an... Show more content on

He had advised the client to assign the review and evaluation of the new database to an independent
contractor. The fact that Jimmy was not familiar with the new system of accounting that the client
was implementing and therefore not involved in the changeover process absolves him and his audit
firm from direct liability. It is also hard to prove that the error in material inventory that resulted
from the changeover was committed when Jimmy was auditing the firm or at the instance of feeding
the data into the system. Admittance to liability is also dependent on whether the auditor had
placed disclaimers of responsibility in the preparation of the audit reports.
The criteria for the determination of the auditor s liability to other parties apart from the clients are
as follows:
The defendant must have reasonably foreseen that the statements would be put to use by the plaintiff
A relevant degree of proximity must exist between the parties involved in the litigation
The imposition of a duty for care by the plaintiff on the defendant must be just and reasonable
(Davies, 1991; ACCA, 2009).
There is no evidence presented in the case above to the effect that the defendant was aware of the
likelihood of the judgements he made being used as a basis to make judgement by the plaintiff.
The plaintiff also has a hard tasks of proving that there was a close proximity between them and

Impact Of The Cold War On The World Essay
Was the impact of the Cold War felt most heavily felt by the superpowers (Europe, Russia, and the
United States) or in the developing world?
The Cold War (1945 1991), a war fought between two social, economic, and political ideologies:
Communism and Capitalism. Although essentially fought between two superpowers, the United
States of America (U.S.A.) and the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic (U.S.S.R.), the impact was
most heavily felt in the developing world. Although there was no direct fighting between the U.S.A.

Taking radiographs on pregnant women, or being the tech taking the x rays, you should take more

of radiation that is or is not good for the fetus or the women carrying the child. With too much
radiation to the unborn child it could cause organ dysfunction, growth development, and many
other things. X rays are also safe when you follow the correct precautions. There are also a lot of
reason why not to be around x rays when a woman is pregnant.
With being the operator of the x ray you should only be pointed at your head and not your chest,
organs, or even the fetus unless you get an abdominal x ray but even then the risk of radiation
exposure is lower than the chance of needing an abdominal x ray. Other precautions you should

A Article About Playground Video Games
Few months ago, I have read a Korean article about playground. That article showed statistics of
how many small towns are closing their playgrounds. The reason they close the playgrounds are,
there are no kids anymore. In these days, children are not really spending time with friends to
play outside. Rather, they go into each other s house for playing computer games or video games.
However, when I was young, I always went outside in the afternoon to hangout with my friends
until my parents spend hours to find me. How about you? Haven t you played outside until you
cannot recognize your friends face? For me, while I was playing with my friends, I could not feel
tiredness or starve. I rather choose playing with my friends than eating delicious foods. Everyone
experienced that?
You remember? Last week, we had read and seen the Jesus with feeding 5,000 people with 5

Under the leadership of Lee Iacocca and with the support of federal loan guarantees, Chrysler
managed to turn itself around one more time, returning to profitability in 1982. While the late

Febrile Epilepsy Research Paper
Each year, one in one hundred people in the United State develop epilepsy, but there is a less
common type of epilepsy. It s called febrile infection related epileptic syndrome, more commonly
known as FIRES. I happen to know one of the few people who have this type of epilepsy. Her name
is Kailee, and she goes to my brother s school. She was even in some of his classes. This type of
epilepsyoccurs in school aged children between the ages of six and seventeen ( What is FIRES?
). It starts with a mild febrile illness that lasts anywhere from four days to two weeks. Febrile
illness is when someone has a fever but they aren t sick with anything else ( Febrile Illness ). When
Kaylee was at this point, her mom thought she had the flu. This is very common, as the flu presents
itself as a fever in many children. Then, the child starts to have seizures. The seizures occur very
quickly, and the child needs to be hospitalized immediately at this point. Seizures the children
experience are non focal, meaning they have no consistent starting point or ending point in the brain
( What is FIRES ). The disease is slightly more prevalent in boys than girls, but there is no known

Due to its low prevalence, they aren t able to study enough patients to get any solid results.
However, there are some ideas as to what causes the seizures. First of all, it could be genetic. The
problem with this theory is that no gene has been found that could link to FIRES. Some scientists
think the disease is a result of an autoimmune response, while others think the seizures are caused
by a malfunction in the metabolic process of some cells. Both of these theories have little evidence
to support them. FIRES could be a result of the febrile illness that comes before the seizures. The
idea is that the increased heat in the body results in the mutation of a pathogen. The new pathogen
might attack the brain and cause the seizures (Van

Stereotypes Of Mass Murderers
Mass murderers are categorized either as organized or unorganized, and inside of each type are
three subtypes. Organized killers could be disciple, pseudo commando, or set and run, while
unorganized killers could be family annihilators, disgruntled employees, or spree killers. A
disciple killer is someone who follows the dictates of a charismatic leader, such as Jim Jones.
Jones led his cult of The People s Temple to mass suicide killing 900 of his followers. His
followers drank a cyanide В¬laced punch to commit suicide. Pseudo commandos are people who
are preoccupied with weaponry on a killing. An example is James Huberty, who killed 22 people at
a McDonald s restaurant in San Ysidro using a 9 mm semiautomatic, a Winchester pump action...

The traits are either physical, psychological, social, emotional, or sexual. Physical traits include
their age, sex, and skin color. For example, Bonnie was a 23 year old white female and Clyde
was a 23 year old white male. Paranoia, depression, narcissism, suicidal, delusional, and
substance abuse all fall under the psychological category. Dylann Storm Roof is a 21 year was
the perpetrator of the 2015 Charleston church shooting in which he killed 9 African Americans. He
later stated that he hated African Americans so he killed them out of hate and that he was trying
to ignite a race war (Navarro). The next trait is social, which include being anti social, failing at
love or school, or being bullied. Christopher Sean Harper‐Mercer was the gunman at the
Umpqua community college shooting in Oregon. After the shooting, his neighbors reported that
they never saw Mercer with any friends or girlfriends and that he would always sit outside on
the balcony with very little light (Mai Duc). In the emotional side, they see themselves as
victims and they have no remorse or regret. For instance, Hitler. Violent fantasies and the desire
to be intimate are part of the sexual traits. Elliot Rodger killed 6 people before taking his own life
on May 23, 2014. His reasons were that he wanted to punish women for rejecting him and to
punish sexually active men for living a more enjoyable life than

Tourism and Malaysia
The Impact Of Tourism In Malaysian Society Tourism Essay
Malaysia has invested in a wide range of tourism destinations for tourists. This country is blessed
with diverse cultures, traditions and histories, coupled with different landscapes and natural
resources; the country has built a strong and fascinating appeal for both local and international
tourists. Tourismsector, therefore, is of great importance to Malaysia s economy as one of the major
foreign exchange revenue or earnings second to the manufacturing industry.
Introduction
Malaysia is a country situated in the Southeast Asia spanning from approximately 1ЛљN to

The tourism sector being a strong contributor is just not a new finding as its contribution has
received widespread recognition in the country. (The tourism destination conference for 2010)
reveals that the tourism receipt for 2009 was at RM 53.367.7 million, with 23.65 million tourist
arrivals, making this industry the second largest income earner for the country in the same year
and though these figures are laudable, it is said that the local tourism sector has not been exploited
to its potential (Y.B. Dato Sri Mohd Najib, 3rd March 2010). In 2009, Malaysia made it into top 10
most visited countries in the world, and was confidently placed in the 9th position below turkey and
Germany. This remark shows that Malaysia s tourism sector has pulled international recognition
and has gained force of attraction that draws the attention of tourists all around the continents of the
world to choose Malaysia as their tourism destination.
Social impact of the tourism industry
The social impact of tourism in Malaysia is indelible and will sustain a world record in the nearest
future. In a country with a diverse nationality, diverse race, culture and religion, it has proven to me
that understanding, tolerance and acceptance are part of the key values that is keeping Malaysia at
the top among the top tourist destination countries in the world today. The masterminds behind the
success of the tourism sector and

Rebuttal For Refugees Essay
Rebuttal While offering help to refugees is necessary, caution should be taken on the
appropriateness of the immigrants. Individuals proposing that employees should be accepted in
any country fail to present reliable evidence to justify their claims. In fact, issues arise when the
aspect of peace raises questions among the locals. Fundamentally, accepting immigrants from war
torn areas into the U.S. is a way of fulfilling the moral obligation (Hansel 15). Besides, it saves
individuals from brutal death and the disastrous outcomes of battle. Equally, it would be shameful
for a well developed country with many resources such as America to just sit back and watch as
people suffer in front of their eyes knowing that they can offer assistance.... Show more content on

is subject to debate. Firstly, the availability of cheap labor reduces the wages which high schools
of Native American dropout get (Tichenor 11). Most refugees perform the difficult tasks that the
well educated citizens cannot undertake since they readily accept low wages. Since the labor
intensive tasks do not require sophisticated skills, school dropouts find them as the best
opportunities for them to acquire a salary. However, due to the benefits offered to the refugees
already working there, the Americans have no option but accept the low wages. Even though the
U.S. fulfills its humanitarian responsibility by giving homage to refugees, it would be unethical to
do so at the cost of the natives. The danger imposed by the acceptance of immigrants from regions
which face terrorism is a critical issue subject to questions. Although the U.S. government screens
its refugees, it does not warrant the innocence of the foreigners (Hansel 18). It is possible for
terrorists to invade the borders of America in the name of seeking refuge from wars in their
countries. Similarly, if allowing immigrants into the nation triggers anxiety among the locals, it is

Francis published a number of reports between 2010 to 2013 which revealed failings by mid
staffs in providing basic care; from provision of food, drink, pain relief, wash facilities to
unhygienic wards and toilets. The francis report also estimated that between January 2005 and
march 2009, approximately 400 1200 deaths occurred as a result of poor care.
The inquiry laid blame on poor staffing, lack of compassion, poor management. Francis also noted
a lack of concern when issues had been raised stating Staff who spoke out felt ignored and there is
strong evidence that many were deterred from doing so through fear and bullying . Again other
agencies were slow to react to warning signs that things were not right at Mid staffs.
One of the recommendations that emerged from the francis report was the expectation upon all
NHS staff of a duty of Candour . It says Every healthcare organisation and everyone working for
them must be honest, open and truthful in all their dealings with patients and the public, and
organisational and personal interests must never be allowed to outweigh the duty to be honest,
open and truthful.
The total sum of both these findings equals to recurring themes of:
Poor staffing levels lack of training at all levels
Organisational cultures, that turn a blind eye to poor practices
Lack of communication between management boards and staff on the frontline
Poor Care and Financial

those who are deeply interested despite their diverse national backgrounds. Nonetheless, no matter
how heated debates the subject has raised, it is essential to fully deal with it based on historical

He argued, like other imperialism advocates, that France needed foreign lands to consume his
excessive commodities because Germany and the United States had built up trade barriers. To the
French, not only were their own markets shrinking, but also other great states were trying to take
over the French markets. Therefore, it was necessary for France to take serious measures against
such threat. Furthermore, he believed that it was the duty of the higher races to civilize the lower
races, which led to the colonization of areas including Africa and Asia. Finally, Ferry also
contended that as many other great states expanded their territories, France needed to build their
naval bases around the world to compete at the world political stage; otherwise, France would face
serious challenges from other powers. Although Ferry was left wing politician, he justified his
support for the French imperialism based on the French national interests. To Ferry, national
interests were first priority.
Rudyard Kipling wrote a poem, The White Man s Burden, to express that imperialism was the
obligation of the western powers to receive God s blessings to civilize the savages. Imperialism
was the way to save the uncivilized out of poverty and wretched lives. The success of imperialism

that comes to mind is a big red truck with flashing lights and loud sirens and horns. Or people in
bunker gear, helmets and air packs carrying axes and hoses. But it was not always that way. In
the beginning it was nowhere near how it is today. Fire Fighting is defined as the action or
process of extinguishing fires . The first fire department was created in 24 B.C. by Roman

Importance Of Library Services In The 21st Century
Accessing library services in the 21st Century?
In the 21st century, collections and services will need to meet customer s needs in a much more
personalized and customized way. Collections will need to become more diverse, in terms of
format, language, and access. Librarians will need to have knowledge of new formats for library
materials, and plan to use their funds in purchasing materials that will meet and promote various
skills. Customers will want library materials that use their critical thinking and problem solving
skills, promote creativity and innovation, allow for communication and collaboration, and teach
information, media and technology skills. Library materials, that are accessible 24/7, in a range
of cutting edge formats, that promote and support learning and using new skill sets, will be the
norm. Library services, like library materials, will need to be accessible 24/7 in a 21st Century
library. Librarians will need to think about services as customer centered and focused. Reference
services in the 21st century will not be based on the librarian s knowledge and access to information,
but the customer s starting point. 21st century customers are coming to librarians, not for answers
to questions, but for new access points, or new skill sets. Children s and Teen services will need to
incorporate skills for the 21st Century, including critical thinking, innovation, collaboration,

reason I admire Billy as much as a do, is because he is not someone who lead a perfect life, he is
real, he showed me life isn t always going to go your way and curve balls will be thrown but you
just how to power through it, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. I see myself learning

an education. I live in hopes that one day I will feel as accomplished and proud of myself as Billy

The aim of the current paper is to review and summarize recent research on the human MNS,
asserting that this system may provide the neural scaffold for empathy and, as a result, may have
served as a biological substrate for the evolution of our sophisticated sociality and the morality that
governs it. Section 1 serves as the general introduction, Section 1.1 discusses neuroimaging
evidence in support of the human MNS; Section 1.2 highlights the role of the MNS in
understanding the intentions of others; Section 2 discusses a form of empathy termed emotional
empathy , that is the feeling of other s feelings, putatively through a resonance mechanism
implemented by the human MNS; Section 2.1 discusses the relationship between
emotional empathy and cognitive empathy a form of mentalizing that relies on higher level
cognitive processes; Section
3 discusses developmental evidence on social evaluation and empathy for pain; Section 4 aims to
link action perception to morality, using emotional empathy and social evaluation as stepping
stones, and Section 5 concludes.

Justification And Theory Of Justification
Is a coherence theory of justification preferable to a foundationalist theory of justification? The
purpose of this essay is to justify why coherence theory of justification is preferable to a
foundationalist theory of justification, I will start by explaining what Coherence the theory of
justification and foundationalist theory of justification is. Coherence theory of justification also
known as coherentism, is a theory of epistemic justification, this theory implies that in order for a
belief to be justified it must belong to a coherent system of belief, For a system of beliefs to be
coherent, the beliefs that creates that system must cohere with one another. (Murphy, 2007) As an
epistemological theory, coherentism opposes foundationalismand infinitism and attempts to offer
a solution to the regress argument. In this epistemological capacity, it is a theory about how
belief can be justified,(Audi, 2002) If were looking at coherentism as a technical notion. It s
much easy to explain it as a set of beliefs that is coherent when they are logically consistent, and
in addition they fit together in ways that let them explain and help support each other. So for
example, this is not a coherent set of beliefs: {the moon came out yesterday, 3+3=6}. That s not a
coherent set of beliefs because its factors don t correlate they have anything to do with each other
and they don t relate to each. Neither is this a coherent set of beliefs: {the first child I saw at

Analysis Of Michael Porter s Value Chain
A low cost strategy in order to gain market share does possess inherent risk, for example, other
competing firms with larger capital may be able to lower their costs, forcing the firm to operate
at a reduced profit of even loss. As a result of technology advances, rival firms could be able to
surpass their present production abilities, thus eliminating the competitive advantage. In addition,
several rival firms could combine their efforts, following a focus strategy and target various
narrow markets could be able to achieve an even lower cost within their segments and as a
collective group, certainly gain considerable market advantage. Consequently, low cost leadership,
when combined with low prices can bring about a disadvantage which is less customer loyalty
(Vokurka Davis, 2004). Relatively low prices can also result in creating a lasting negative attitude
towards the quality of the product in the mindset of the customers.
Discussion Question 6.3: In his value chain examination, Michael Porter distinguished five essential
quality producing ventures in ordinary business operations. They are: inbound logistics, operations,
outbound logistics, marketing and sales and service. (Porter, et al 2010) Porter s emphasis point in
the worth chain portrayal is that organizations can produce the best overall revenues by
accentuating client appreciation in each of these stages. Ideal client appreciation, and in this way
maximum net revenues, result from a mix of either ease

In an ordinary case it is generally said you judge it by the action of the man in the street. He is the
ordinary man. In one case it has been said you judge it by the conduct of the man on the top of a
Clapham omnibus. He is the ordinary man.
Why the mention of Clapham omnibus ? The Bolam judgment was pronounced in 1957 and
Clapham, at that time, was a nondescript south London suburb. It represented ordinary London.
Omnibus was used at that time for the public bus. Thus, the man on the top of a Clapham omnibus
was a hypothetical person, who was reasonably educated and intelligent but was a non specialist.
The courts used to judge the conduct of any defendant by comparing it with that of the hypothetical
ordinary man .

Therefore, medical professionals must learn how to prevent malpractice litigation, rather than

The Importance of Babel 17: The Role of Communication Author Samuel R. Delaney, in his
novel Babel 17, is able to suggest that a more critical and creative way of thinking is best
developed by a well rounded mind. It is from a mind that is able to become engaged in a non
linear method of thinking, that Delany infers, is one open to communication that allows for
personal and cultural integration. Moreover, Rydra Wong and the language of Babel 17 both throw
communication on its head as each uses the power of language in order to achieve differing results.
Conversely, a holistic method of thinking displays the potential that exists for being able to
manipulate how others think. An example of this is seen with Babel 17 and the Butcher. The end

Film Analysis Of Wyatt Earp
Throughout the years, there has been an abundance of movies depicting the wild west during the
nineteenth century. One of these films includes Tombstone which was released in the year 1993.
Based on real events, this movie is about a man named Wyatt Earp, played by Kurt Russel, who is
a retired officer that settles in a town called Tombstonewith his two brothers. Later, they encounter
a group of outlaws called the Cowboys which was led by Curly Bill and Johnny Ringo. Due to
some conflict between the opposing sides, it causes a massive gunfight called the O.K. Corral in
which the Earp brothers and long time friend Doc Holliday, played by Val Kilmer, ultimately win
the battle. As a result of the fight not ending in the Cowboys favor, they ambush the town in
which leads to Virgil, played by Sam Elliot (Tombstone, 1.), becoming handicapped and Wyatt s
younger brother, Morgan played by Bill Paxton, dead. This infuriates Wyatt which then leads him
to seek vengeance for his brother s death. While Wyatt kills Curly, Doc and their posse attack the
remaining Cowboys. After the ambush, Doc s tuberculosis progressively gets worse and is left on
bed rest. As Wyatt and the posse continue to meet up with Johnny and the Cowboys, Doc has
already arrived and murders Johnny legally.
Tombstone, compared to other films, gives a realistic depiction of the west of that time period
based on the set. It is based on a real place located in southern Arizona . This little town was

Rejection In The Grapes Of Wrath
By not being accepted by those who were closest to them, Joseph and Jesus were able to make a
difference in the lives of many more people than if they had not gone through the extra steps
rejection took them.
Rejection does not feel good. Often times, rejection is a lonely place. Rejection caused Joseph to
become a slave and a prisoner. He lived in a pit and he was left in prison for several years on more
than one occasion. While in each of these places, Joseph never forgot his dream. Joseph was
faced with being called a liar and a rapist but he never forgot his dreams. I am certain that Joseph
did not understand what was going on or why his dream was not coming to fruition but he never
gave up. While in prison Joseph still exercised

Essay on Love and Spoon River Anthology
Love Hurts With divorce rates of today being at an all time high, people say that marriage has
lost its value. It is also said that it is rare to find a happy relationship. Edgar Lee Masters seemed
to believe the same about the romantic relationships of his time, as well. Masters conveys theses
feelings through some of the characters of his work, Spoon River Anthology. Edgar Lee Masters
uses unhappy marriages as a common factor in the deaths of many of the characters including
Margaret Fuller Slack, Amanda Barker and Tom Merritt in order to reveal his own discontent
toward romantic relationships. First, Margaret Fuller Slack s loveless relationship with her husband
is a main factor in her death. In the poem, Margaret Fuller Slack,... Show more content on

This is one way that Masters displays his discontent toward romantic relationships. Also, Masters
uses Amanda Barker s loveless and hateful relationship with her husband Henry as the cause of
her death. In the poem Amanda Barker, the character tells of how she died at a young age at the
fault of her husband. Masters wrote: HENRY got me with child, /Knowing that I could not bring
forth life /Without losing my own. Here, the character, Amanda Barker, retells of how her
husband, Henry, killed her. He was fully aware that she could not have a child without losing
her own life, yet he impregnates her anyway. She also tells of how the townspeople believed that
her husband loved her, but this was not the truth. Masters wrote: ...it is believed in the village
where I lived /That Henry loved me with a husband s love /But I proclaim from the dust /That he
slew me to gratify his hatred. If it where not for her relationship with Henry, she would not have
died young. This, once again, shows Edgar Lee Masters feelings about marriage. By often using
marriage and relationships as an important factor in the death of many of his characters, Lee
confirms his doubt in them. Finally, Tom Merritt s death had occurred because of his wifes romantic
relationship with a lover. The poems, Tom Merritt, Mrs. Merritt, and Elmer Karr tell the story of a
married woman s affair with a young man who, in the end, kills her husband. From the husband

Chapter 1: The Power of Markets
What are the two basic assumptions that economists make about individuals and firms?

What are the main reasons why government should take only a limited role in a market economy?
There are many reasons why government should have a light touch in market economies. Some
government programs may be to costly and in the end backfire if not planned through thoroughly
or may of even been thought up by corrupt politicians. The government also makes the struggle as
a poor family harder to bare as taxes are more often then not, in the government, in favor of keeping
the money where it is.
Chapter 5: Economics of Information
Basic economic models assume that all parties have perfect information. How does informational
asymmetry undermine our market economy?
Information asymmetry is great for some and awful for others. It also leads to rational and
irrational discrimination. For example, it could lead to hiring a male over female, a Caucasian over
African American, and other discriminatory decisions, in these cases are understandable.(Women

The Physics Of Video Games
People often question when they would ever use the mathematics they are taught in school during
the course of their lives. Unbeknownst to them however, is that many of their greatest joys in life
are made possible because of mathematics. Anyone who plays video games or any games may not
realize just how large a role mathematics plays in their lives. Without math, video gameswouldn t be
possible, and board games would be less meaningful. Everything that happens in a videogame is
occurring due to mathematical inputs inside the game. Some of these inputs are able to be changed
of influenced by the user, others are not and form a pseudo random number generator, which
influences the seemingly random events that occur while playing. Board games often have
mathematical solutions to them that guarantee a certain result, or strategies that are more likely to
result in a victory. Even if it isn t noticeable at first, mathematics in games is very present for those
who care enough to look for it, and those who find it can use their newly found knowledge to their
advantage.

Torah are even older. Many of the traditions, characters, and places mentioned in the first five
books of the Hebrew Bibleare so ancient that their historical accuracy cannot be verified. Even
though these events would ve taken place millenniums ago, the stories of the Torahcontinue to have
a significant impact on Judaismtoday. This paper will focus specifically on the stories of Moses
found in the book of Exodus and how the methods used by modern Orthodox and Reform Jews to
study the Torah significantly affect how they reconcile their present faith with the tales of the past.
According to the book of Exodus, after Moses had lead the Israelites out of Egypt they began
their journey to a land promised to them by God. During this journey atop Mount Sinai, God
revealed himself to Moses and presented a covenant to the Israelites: if they followed God s laws,
they would be a chosen people, a nation set apart. According to Exodus, God then gave his laws
directly to Moses who then shared them with the people. The Mosaic Covenant became the basis of

that the events in the Bible actually took place. They firmly and literally believe that the 613 laws

continue to practice all of the purity, dietary, and social guidelines outlined in the Torah.

On July 11, 1958 a couple of hours after midnight, Richard Loving a white man and Mildred
Loving an African American woman were awakened to the presence of three officers in their
bedroom. One of the three officers demanded from Richard to identify the woman next to him.
Mildred, full of fear, told the officers that she was his wife, while Richard pointed to the marriage

anti miscegenation statute.

the Negro participants in an interracial marriage, these statutes, ... do not constitute an invidious
discrimination based upon race.
The court also referred to its 1955 decision in Naim v. Naim as stating the reasons supporting the
validity of the anti miscegenation laws. In Naim, the state court concluded that the State s
legitimate purposes were quot;to preserve the racial integrity of its citizens, quot; and to prevent
quot;the corruption of blood, quot; quot;a mongrel breed of citizens, quot; and quot;the obliteration
of racial pride, quot; obviously an endorsement of the doctrine of White Supremacy. The court also
reasoned that marriage has traditionally been subject to state regulation without federal
intervention, and consequently, the regulation of marriage should be left to exclusive state control
by the Tenth Amendment.
The statements related to the courts attempt to quot;preserve the racial integrity of its citizens
quot; would have been ludicrous any place but was especially laughable in Caroline County, and
in the Lovings hometown of Central Point, which had been an epicenter of race mixing for at least
200 years. White families and their fair skinned black relatives lived so close together that they

adapting this as part of their personal lifestyle (Gallucci, 2011).
In spite of managers playing a vital role in the success of a company, when it comes to executing
the management strategic plan, Zappos implemented a tactic called Holacracy. This system of
management has an even allocation of authority and allows employees to be their own leader. . This
self organized company evenly distributes decision making, responsibility, and leadership
throughout the organization. The system has empowered employees to be in charge of their own
goals and ability to solve their own problems. In order to adapt to this change, the employees
attended holacracy training before entering into this new model. The previous mangers learned
skills to transform from leading their teams to leading by example (Bunch, 2014).
Holacracy stimulates empowerment in the employees, resulting in pride and accountability in their
work. Additionally, this method promotes thoughts of innovation in employees as well as increased
problem solving. In theory, this unique approach in management assists Zappos in achieving their
overall mission and goals because each person is equally invested in the success of the company.
Clearly, the success of Zappos is due to the strategic alignment of the management styles,
employees, and the companies mission and vison (Gosfield, 2015).

Analysis Of The Movie I Didn t Sleep
Rory walked with Valentina back to her mom s house, not that far from the town square. She

  • 2. Types Of Courtly Performance During The Modern Court In the early modern court, the illusion of power could be just as important as power itself. If courtiers participated in the various performances of the court, they had the potential to gain significant amounts of influence and prestige. These types of courtly performances were shared by monarchs, courtiers and lesser figures albeit in sometimes very distinct manners. This performance of the court consisted of various different aspects, including: associating with influential individuals, royal ceremonies, courtliness, and bodily performance. One type of courtly performance, which was primarily a concern of the courtiers and lesser court figures, was the association and ingratiation of one s self with influential court figures in order to gain status and respect. This was a performance in that courtiers were, in a way, required to form relationships on the basis of status and in the court friends were primarily a tool to advance one s standing in the court. A prime example of this is William Chiffinch the Page of the Backstairs of Charles II s court. A man of humble origins, Chiffinch was able to rise to a position of significant power and influence through his connection to a powerful individual, the king. Like many of Charles II s household servants... Chiffinch had begun this intimacy with the king before the Restoration. He and his elder brother, Thomas, had been introduced to the Prince of Wales and Charles I s Oxford camp by Bishop Duppa of Salisbury (Allen ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Role Of The Dublin Lockout Of 1913 James Larkin, the leader of the Irish Trade Union and the founder of the Irish Transport and General Workers Union once said The employers cannot carry on industry nor accumulate profits if they have not got the good will of the workers or their acquiescence in carrying on such industry. In 1911, over 300,000 people lived in Dublin. The unemployment rates were high and the average labourers wage was around one pound a week, and that was only if they had a full week of work. Living conditions were equally as inadequate as the working wages. Lydia Carroll and Enda Leaney found in a housing enquiry that 87,305 people lived in poverty, almost a third of Dublin s population. 80% of families lived in one room dwellings. According to the Public Health Report of 1913, 8,639 deaths were recorded, 1,444 were from tuberculosis and 4,642 were from nervous, circulatory, respiratory, and digestive diseases such as diarrhoea and pneumonia due to inadequate sanitary and nutrition.(Devine, pg 3 4) These conditions sparked many protests as workers became desperate. • 4. Essay on The Lost Roanoke Colony Jamestown is thought by most of our general population to be the first colony in the New World. This is only half true. Jamestown is considered our first successful colony, however it was not our first attempt at a colony. There were a few attempts to colonize the New World before Jamestown and one in particular that is found to be interesting is Roanoke also known as the Lost Colony. It received this name due to the fact that the colonists that settled this colony disappeared very mysteriously. This poses the question of What happened to the people of Roanoke? There are many different viewpoints of what occurred to the colonists and the goal here is to address each one of them. In England, a document signed on January 7, 1587, created... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After about a month of unloading, Fernandes decided time was drawing near for his departure from the New World. With his departure imminent, the colony faced a dilemma. White and his assistants all agreed that one of them needed to go back to England to secure additional supplies for the colony. The one chosen to go was John White. On August 27, 1587, White set sail for England in the smaller of the ships with a crew of about fifteen men. His journey was a treacherous one due to an accident at sea that injured twelve of his crew of fifteen , virtually disabling the ship. However, thought to be a perilous journey, White finally arrived with news of the city of Raleigh. But there would not be a return voyage in six months as expected. Spain had put together a mighty fleet of ships called the Spanish Armada. This caused Queen Elizabeth to order all English ships discontinue normal business and join the effort to fight off the Spanish fleet. Due to this and other mishaps, White did not get back to the city of Raleigh until August of 1597 which was three years later. Coincidentally, the colonist of Raleigh were gone just as the colonist of Greenville that were left before them. There are many different possibilities that may have occurred. The answer is is inequality. Inequality has been around since people started civilizations, Mainly the Europeans. The Europeans were able to decimate entire cultures because they had Suitable crops, domesticable animals, immunity to many diseases, and steel, and all of those are affected by geography climate and pure luck. To find out how the Europeans got lucky and achieved total conquest you need to know what they had on their side. The first thing Europeans had was crops and agriculture. Germs gave the Europeans a secret advantage because they could kill thousands of their enemies without even stepping on the battlefield. The incan empire lived high up in the mountains and interacted with very few people. • 7. Proposal On Animal Abuse This proposal will demonstrate the link between cruelty to pet animals in families where battering occurs. There s little data to cover this topic, but this type of abuse is very common Animal cruelty may be a sign of a family environment that is violent or abusive (Duncan Miller, 2002) but few studies have actually examined this link. This study will try to make that link using measurement of qualitative data. Researching the link between violence in the home and animals is very important because it can serve as an indicator of abuse. The animal abuser can be either a child or an adult in the family where the abuse occurs. The Results will suggest that animal abuse may indicative of family violence in the home. Introduction The greatest distortion of the human/animal relationship is the act of cruelty towards animals. The legislative response to animal cruelty first became known in North America and Europe in the beginning of the eighteenth centuries. Concern for the pain and suffering experience of animals came about when we started humanizing animals . Animals were allowed in the house, given a name and taken care for much like you would a child. Thomas (1983) study found the following: It encouraged [people) to form optimistic conclusions about animal intelligence:... it stimuВlated the notion that animals could have character and individual personaliВty; and [most of all) it created the psychological foundation for the view that some animals at ... • 8. Queer Theory Case Study Queer theory was developed by Judith Butler in her post modern feminist text, Gender Trouble: feminism and the subversion of identity (Horitar, 2015). She discussed the role that gender and sexual orientation play in the way in which society uses the concepts in order to place individuals in a specific category on the basis on how they behave (Guantlett, 1998; Horitar, 2015). This theory examines the diverse ways in which current beliefs serves to reintegrate societal anticipations of genderidentity, appearance and sexuality, it also offers a negotiation for the fragmentation of constructed gender categories (Horitar, 2015). According to Western society, sex defines your particular gender (feminine or masculine) which in turn defines your true identity, for example a biological female is considered to be a women who is anticipated, by the society in which they live, to be more sensitive and nurturing than a man and who needs a sensual relationship with the ... Queer theory allows us to open our eyes to the various factors that nourish heteronormativity promotes gender conventionality, heterosexuality, and family traditionalism as the correct way for people to be (Oswald, Blume Marks, 2005:143) and it also helps us to understand how structural features contribute to individuals who are permitted over others (Few Demo et al., 2016:75; Oswald et al., 2005). Queer theory aims to destabilise what people take for granted and allows them to ask interesting questions about individual s identities (Few Demo et al., 2016:76). This stress has caused a movement against immigrants coming into the country to begin. Presidential candidate Donald Trump said I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I ll build them very inexpensively, I will build a great, great wall on our southern border. Determining The Unknown Concentration Of Cobalt (II) Solution The goal of the experiment was to determine the unknown concentration of the provided Cobalt (II) solution by using a spectrophotometer/colorimeter. The spectrophotometer was used on the unknown solution to find the concentration of Cobalt (II). The concepts used from Beer Lambert s Law are the absorbance and concentration of the tested solution. The equation is A=EbC. A equals absorbance, E is the constant when identifying the species measuring the wavelength, b is the thickness of the solution, and C is the concentration of the solution. E and b are both constant, which makes the concentration and the absorbance directly proportional. Next, the unknown solution of Cobalt (II) was placed in a 100 mL beaker and the DI water was placed in a smaller beaker to make transferring the solutions easier. For the process of transferring each solution smoothly, a pipette will be used to place the unknown solution and DI water into the 10 mL graduated cylinder. First, 100% of the unknown concentration should be placed in a test tube ready to be put in the spectroscopy. Then, using a clean pipette fill the graduated cylinder with 9 mL of the unknown solution and fill the rest with DI water using a different clean pipette until 10 mL is reached. The concentration solution is 90%, and 10% is the DI water which makes the new mixture. The mixture that was just made will then be poured into a test tube that is beside the 100% concentration of the unknown solution. The process will then be continued by pouring 8 mL unknown solution and 2 mL of DI water into the 10 mL graduated cylinder to get 80% concentration solution; which is poured in the test tube that will be placed by the 90% concentration test tube. Again, 7 mL of the unknown solution will be placed in the graduated cylinder along with 3 mL of DI water, which makes 70% concentration solution and 30% DI water. The solution will then be poured into a test tube and placed by the 80% concentration. Then, 6 mL of Cobalt (II) unknown solution was placed with a pipette into the 10 mL graduated cylinder with 4 mL of DI water. Which makes 60% of concentration solution and 40% DI water, and pour the new mixture into a test tube and place it next to the 70% concentration solution. Many economists consider it the worst crisis since the Great Depression, and its alarming results are still seen today, a long six years later. Truly, the recession s daunting size and formidable wake have left no one untouched and can only beg the question: could it have been prevented? The causes are manifold, but can be found substantially rooted in illogical investments and greedy schemes. Before any of the risky moneymaking endeavors, investors traditionally would have gone to the US Federal Reserve to buy treasury bills, a safe and profitable investment. In this system, everyone is happy the mortgage broker earns a handsome commission, the mortgage lender earns a new mortgage, and the family is now a homeowner in a market of increasing housing prices. In the new system, an investment banker buys the mortgage from the lender, borrowing millions of dollars to buy thousands of mortgages, and every month he gets payments from homeowners for each of the mortgages. The banker then consolidates all the mortgages and splits the final product into three sections: safe, okay, and risky mortgages, which make up a collateralized debt obligation (CDO). As homeowners pay their mortgages, money flows into each of the sections, with the safe filling first and the risky filling last, contributing to their respective names. Credit agencies stamp the top two safer mortgages with a triple A or triple B rating, which are then be sold to investors who want a safe mortgage, while the risky slice is sold to hedge funds who want a risky investment. This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the contract between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively clear on the auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Г“ hГ“gartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An auditor owes a duty of care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to negligence on the part of the auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort (Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). Admittance to liability is also dependent on whether the auditor had placed disclaimers of responsibility in the preparation of the audit reports. The criteria for the determination of the auditor s liability to other parties apart from the clients are as follows: The defendant must have reasonably foreseen that the statements would be put to use by the plaintiff A relevant degree of proximity must exist between the parties involved in the litigation The imposition of a duty for care by the plaintiff on the defendant must be just and reasonable (Davies, 1991; ACCA, 2009). The Cold War (1945 1991), a war fought between two social, economic, and political ideologies: Communism and Capitalism. Although essentially fought between two superpowers, the United States of America (U.S.A.) and the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic (U.S.S.R.), the impact was most heavily felt in the developing world. With too much radiation to the unborn child it could cause organ dysfunction, growth development, and many other things. X rays are also safe when you follow the correct precautions. There are also a lot of reason why not to be around x rays when a woman is pregnant. • 16. A Article About Playground Video Games Few months ago, I have read a Korean article about playground. That article showed statistics of how many small towns are closing their playgrounds. The reason they close the playgrounds are, there are no kids anymore. In these days, children are not really spending time with friends to play outside. Rather, they go into each other s house for playing computer games or video games. However, when I was young, I always went outside in the afternoon to hangout with my friends until my parents spend hours to find me. How about you? Haven t you played outside until you cannot recognize your friends face? For me, while I was playing with my friends, I could not feel tiredness or starve. I rather choose playing with my friends than eating delicious foods. Everyone experienced that? You remember? Last week, we had read and seen the Jesus with feeding 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. And today s scripture is extention of the last week s scripture. Today s scripture starts with crowds who came over to Capernaum to find Jesus. It is not really long distance, between the place where Jesus performed the miracle of feeding five thousands and Capernaum are only 6 miles apart. While the late 1980s proved tough for the industry as a whole, the introduction and meteoric rise of the family minivan (a market controlled 47% by Chrysler as of 1996), coupled with the 1987 acquisition and subsequent exploitation of the Jeep brand name, left Chrysler the envy of the U.S. auto market by the mid 1990s. As Fortune magazine stated in late 1996, If a vehicle is in demand and generates high profit margins, you can bet Chrysler s making it. 4 While Chrysler s success and relatively conservative management style attracted praise from industry observers, it also attracted the attention of Las Vegas billionaire Kirk Kerkorian, who with the help of retired Lee Iacocca, mounted a hostile bid for Chrysler in 1995. The (U.S. dollar) $55 per share ($27.50 today following a 2 for 1 stock split in 1996) not only failed to win the approval of Chrysler s board, but also turned out to be largely unfinanced, leaving Chrysler to continue under its current management. Febrile illness is when someone has a fever but they aren t sick with anything else ( Febrile Illness ). When Kaylee was at this point, her mom thought she had the flu. This is very common, as the flu presents itself as a fever in many children. Then, the child starts to have seizures. The seizures occur very quickly, and the child needs to be hospitalized immediately at this point. Some scientists think the disease is a result of an autoimmune response, while others think the seizures are caused by a malfunction in the metabolic process of some cells. Both of these theories have little evidence to support them. FIRES could be a result of the febrile illness that comes before the seizures. Individuals proposing that employees should be accepted in any country fail to present reliable evidence to justify their claims. In fact, issues arise when the aspect of peace raises questions among the locals. Fundamentally, accepting immigrants from war torn areas into the U.S. is a way of fulfilling the moral obligation (Hansel 15). Besides, it saves individuals from brutal death and the disastrous outcomes of battle. Equally, it would be shameful for a well developed country with many resources such as America to just sit back and watch as people suffer in front of their eyes knowing that they can offer assistance.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... is subject to debate. Firstly, the availability of cheap labor reduces the wages which high schools of Native American dropout get (Tichenor 11). Most refugees perform the difficult tasks that the well educated citizens cannot undertake since they readily accept low wages. Since the labor intensive tasks do not require sophisticated skills, school dropouts find them as the best opportunities for them to acquire a salary. However, due to the benefits offered to the refugees already working there, the Americans have no option but accept the low wages. Even though the U.S. fulfills its humanitarian responsibility by giving homage to refugees, it would be unethical to do so at the cost of the natives. The danger imposed by the acceptance of immigrants from regions which face terrorism is a critical issue subject to questions. Although the U.S. government screens its refugees, it does not warrant the innocence of the foreigners (Hansel 18). To the French, not only were their own markets shrinking, but also other great states were trying to take over the French markets. Therefore, it was necessary for France to take serious measures against such threat. Furthermore, he believed that it was the duty of the higher races to civilize the lower races, which led to the colonization of areas including Africa and Asia. Finally, Ferry also contended that as many other great states expanded their territories, France needed to build their naval bases around the world to compete at the world political stage; otherwise, France would face serious challenges from other powers. Although Ferry was left wing politician, he justified his support for the French imperialism based on the French national interests. To Ferry, national interests were first priority. The purpose of this essay is to justify why coherence theory of justification is preferable to a foundationalist theory of justification, I will start by explaining what Coherence the theory of justification and foundationalist theory of justification is. Coherence theory of justification also known as coherentism, is a theory of epistemic justification, this theory implies that in order for a belief to be justified it must belong to a coherent system of belief, For a system of beliefs to be coherent, the beliefs that creates that system must cohere with one another. (Murphy, 2007) As an epistemological theory, coherentism opposes foundationalismand infinitism and attempts to offer a solution to the regress argument. In this epistemological capacity, it is a theory about how belief can be justified,(Audi, 2002) If were looking at coherentism as a technical notion. It s much easy to explain it as a set of beliefs that is coherent when they are logically consistent, and in addition they fit together in ways that let them explain and help support each other. So for example, this is not a coherent set of beliefs: {the moon came out yesterday, 3+3=6}. That s not a coherent set of beliefs because its factors don t correlate they have anything to do with each other and they don t relate to each. Analysis Of Michael Porter s Value Chain A low cost strategy in order to gain market share does possess inherent risk, for example, other competing firms with larger capital may be able to lower their costs, forcing the firm to operate at a reduced profit of even loss. In addition, several rival firms could combine their efforts, following a focus strategy and target various narrow markets could be able to achieve an even lower cost within their segments and as a collective group, certainly gain considerable market advantage. Consequently, low cost leadership, when combined with low prices can bring about a disadvantage which is less customer loyalty (Vokurka Davis, 2004). Relatively low prices can also result in creating a lasting negative attitude towards the quality of the product in the mindset of the customers.
