Louis Armstrong Controversy
Jazz would not be the same today without the contributions that Louis Armstrong brought to the
jazz community, Armstrong opened up a whole new genre of jazz and paved the way for countless
other Jazz artist to follow. Armstrong was a trumpet and cornet player, composer, actor, and singer.
Armstrong was renowned throughout most of the U.S. he was even known by other names such as
Pops, Satchmo, and, later was known as Ambassador Satch. Armstrong s life was full of
controversy and challenges that he had to overcome, one such controversy was overcome racism
from other Blacks.
In the 1920 Louis Armstrong cut several records with various other bands but most notable of
which are his singles that he cut. Even at a young age and an even younger musical career
Armstrong was proving himself to be a musician worthy of recognition. Not everyone accepted
his style at first, there was a lot of fellow musicians that didn t like his style because it was
different from their own style. Armstrong had a tendency to add more and longer trumpet solos,
he would later leave Joe King Oliver s band too start his own band where he ... Show more content

in reshaping the way traditional Jazz was played, their duet on Weatherbird is a perfect example of
the type of Jazz he was trying to create and was a milestone recording from the 1920s. Armstrong
also had a profound impact on the genre of Jazz singing also known as scat singing. Armstrong was
not the first to incorporate scat singing into his song but he did popularized the style. Given his
powerful influence in the Jazz community and the certain rough and gritty tenderness that he
brought to the style made it stand

More than 75% of McDonald s restaurants worldwide are owned and operated by independent
local men and women (McD Annual Report, 09). Most standalone McDonald s restaurants offer
both counter service and drive through service. They have both indoor and sometimes outdoor
seating. Drive Thru, Auto Mac, Pay and Drive, or McDrive as it is known in many countries, often
has separate stations for placing, paying for, and picking up orders.
The company has continued to spread globally, capturing not only the hearts of Americans, but also
those of people in other regions. Below is a diagram illustrating the wide presence of the
McDonalds restaurants in the U.S. (www.reuters.com).
FAST FOOD INDUSTRY ANALYSIS
Fast food restaurants represent one of the largest segments of the food industry with over 200,000
restaurants and $120B in sales in the U.S. alone. Fast food restaurants, which are also known as
quick service restaurants (QSRs), are noted for their short food preparation time. Some of the
largest companies in the fast food restaurants category include McDonald s, Yum! Brands, Wendy s,
Burger King, Jack In The Box and Sonic.
Since late 2006, the fast food industry s growth has been slowed by rising food and energy prices
(www.hoovers.com). The high prices of commodities, the housing slump and a weakening job
market are greatly affecting restaurant spending in the U.S., which

An effective training program needs a high quality program design to maximize trainee learning
and transfer of training. Program design refers to the organization and coordination of the training
program. (Noe, p. 193) Doug Conant became CEO of Campbell s Soup in 2001 in the midst of a
tumultuous time for the company. Campbell s Soup stock was hitting rock bottom and in Conant s

HOW TO GIVE A GOOD HAIRCUT! One of the hardest things about giving a good haircut is
being able to understand what the client ultimately wants to achieve. If you don t have a clear
understanding, you could be digging yourself a hole by giving a bad haircut, but the wrong haircut.
The first and most important step to giving a good haircut and maintain this customer for life is a
thorough evaluation and consultation. This consists of a proper greeting when you seat your
customer at your station. You wantto be sure to listen to your client and ask questions. It s better to
ask and get a full understanding of what it is they want than just pretending you know what they are
talking about, because nine times out of ten, they don t really... Show more content on

You can either use your regular cutting shears, using the point to point cut to take out bulk, not
length, or you can use a razor. It is pretty much personal choice and up to the client. I personally
like the razor. In today s society there isn t much want or need for a perfectly clean hair cut, and the
razor achieves kind of a messy, not so clean look. When you are all finished, you want to hand
your client the mirror and turn them to all angles so they can see the finished cut and approve.
Never try to hide a mistake, everyone knows that when you get a haircut the first thing you do is
go home and look closely, so don t even attempt it, it just causes embarrassment later. After
approval, apply gel to the hair and explain the process and why you are applying. This is a sure
way to get them to purchase the product also, and make your commission oh so sweet! Upon
wanting you to style their hair, blow dry and style to their liking. Be sure to demonstrate and tell
them what you are doing so they can go home and achieve the same look. There is nothing more
frustrating when leaving a salon looking great and then never being able to get the look again
because you don t know how, sure it makes the stylist look like a magician, but in reality, we want
the client to love their hair and be able to work with it at home. After they have praised your work
and told you how much they love their hair, this is when you sell them the

Housing Data Point Towards A Housing Market Bubble
Does Recent Housing Data Point Towards Another Housing Market Bubble?
The last housing crash was devastating to the global financial community. Considering the current
trends in the housing market, are we becoming more at risk for another housing bubble? The
experts continue to debate this contentious question.
As home prices continue to skyrocket, speculation in the market persists and reinforces the
upward trend in the housing market. Data from the National Association of Realtors, or NAR,
reveals that some of the conditions that led to the 2007 2009 housing bubble and crash began
reappearing in 2015. According to NAR, home price increases have been incredible in the
previous years; in May 2015, 39 successive months of increases in housing prices was recorded;
since the last housing bubble and crash, from May 2014 to May 2015, home prices have gone up a
staggering 7.9%. In addition, the NAR noted that 5.1% of the existing housing market inventory
sold, which when seasonally adjusted, equated to a rate of 5.35 million homes.
Recent financial data indicates median home prices have shot up more than a whopping 35% in the
past 4 years, and the amount of residential real estate sold increased up to or past 30%. Is the current
housing market in correction territory? Although some would say it s only natural the housing
market push such new heights after reaching the lows of the last bubble explosion, others would
argue that the market has ultimately grown too fast and for too

Enrique set out on a journey that left many scars, both physically and emotionally. Faced with
isolation, anger, and depression, he departed from his family with whom he had countless negative
interactions with in order to be reunited with his mother who he gravely missed and wanted to be

sanity and other members of the family. Enrique s family illustrated a blend of both codependency
as well as connectedness which aligns with the idea of familismo (Falicov, 2016). Even though
many of the members were experiencing poverty and could not afford to take care of their own
children, they cared for Enrique and her sister which demonstrates the idea that family closeness is
paramount. The process of therapy would illustrate to Enrique the amount of support he had from
his family and realize that although he was unable to maintain all connections, many members were
there for him when needed. Though the Latino culture emphasizes smooth relationships, indirect
communication styles, and conflict avoidance, Enrique s family took a rather direct approach

Reflective Reflection In Reflection
My reflection regarding the previous classes, I found them to be very educational and engaging
which I think helped me to broaden and deepen my understanding of program planning. Working on
the Off campus Teaching Reflection and the Observation and Report on an Adult Learning Class or
Center assignments provided me a unique opportunity to apply what I have learned from this
course into the real world. In these classes, we covered the following topics: Designing Instruction,
Devising Transfer of Learning Plans, Access and Participation, Formulating Program Evaluation
Plans, Assessment and Evaluation, Selecting Formats, Scheduling, and Staffing Programs. After
reading chapter 8 of Planning Programs for Adult Learners by Rosemary Caffarella and Sandra
Daffron, it showed me when designing instruction we need to have a clear and understandable
learning objectives that meet intended outcomes. Developing learning objectives plays important
role in program planning, therefore, we must make sure must learn content are included. When it
comes to choosing instructional techniques we should use techniques that enable scaffolding,
suitable to the audience and their background knowledge and work for the strengths of the
instructor. We should select instructional resources that enhance the learning effort and select an
assessment component. Using assessment data should be in formative and summative ways. We
need to prepare clear instructional plans and choose instructors who know their

Luxembourg, France, And Belgium
Nestled between Germany, France, and Belgium, Luxembourg is one of the smallest countries in
the world. In fact, it is the 20th smallest, having only about 500,000 inhabitants (Luxembourg,

from gay and lesbian marriage rights, the country has show progress in other aspects of the rights
and liberties of the gay and lesbian community. In the past decade or so, Luxembourg has made
great strides and has granted many new rights to the gay and lesbian citizens.
While the French jurisdiction still controlled Luxembourg during the 18th century, homosexual
acts were decriminalized. This occurred in 1794 (Yee 2010), and this act can be seen as the first
step towards increasing gay and lesbian rights in Luxembourg. More recently, in 2004,
Luxembourg started to legally recognize same sex partnerships, commonly referred to as civil
unions in the United States. The Partenariat, or partnership, often referred to as PACS, gave
homosexual couples many new rights, which weren t recognized prior to the act. The rights
included, as found in the law include, tax benefits that heterosexual couples had, social security
benefits, the partners would also be held liable for each other s debts; however, the rights did not
include joint adoption of children. Luxembourg would also not recognize partnerships that were
granted by other countries under their law. If necessary,

Mature sclerenchyma cells are dead and have thickened secondary cell walls impregnated with
lignin. It is elastic. The cell cavity or lumen is very small or may disappear completely. There
are two types of sclerenchyma cells. They are sclereids and fibres. Sclereid cells are irregular in
shape, thick, hard, and lignified. Sclereids are commonly found in fruit and seeds. Fibres have
tapering ends, thick walls and rather small lumen. Secondary cell wall impregnated with lignin are
also present. Simple pits are also present. It is abundant in vascular tissue of angiosperm such as
flowering plants. Sclerenchyma is important in supporting tissues in plants. Sclereids account for
the hardness in seeds of the plant. Fibre plays a role in transporting water in the plants.
Xylem is located in the middle section of the of a plant stem. It can be found close with other
transport tissues in plants such as phloem which transports sugars and amino acids in the plant. In
non woody plants, xylem forms bundle with phloem in order words the vascular bundles. Xylem is
thickened with deposits of lignin that provides mechanical support in plants. Protoxylem(primary
xylem) can be grown into metaxylem(secondary xylem) by secondary growth in the actively

Big Fish Play Analysis
This past week I went to the theater and saw the musical Big Fish, and my first impression
before even seeing a second of the play was, This is a play I have never heard of, so it cant be that
good. But minutes into the play I was hooked, and couldn t keep my eyes off the stage. There
were a few key factors that lead to my attitude doing 180 and greatly enjoying the play. The first
factor was the fact it was a musical, I never seen a musical before Big Fish. To my surprise I
really did like the whole feel of the musical. I thought the lines of the songs were quite funny, for
example the song with the witch in it that was on of my favorite scenes. I also thought the
choreography was brilliant, especially the scene with the fisherman. That was hands down my
favorite part of the whole musical. The dance that they were doing I thought was very funny, but
it also looked pretty difficult to accomplish so I give props to all the actors for making it look like a

huge fan of the way the assembled the props, and used them to make the play more interesting.
An example of what I am talking about is that little river type thing in front of that stage. In the
beginning of the play, there was a spotlight on it and it looked awesome with fish popping its
head up every few seconds. Then the scene with the fisherman and all the fish flying out of the
river, using that prop not just once but twice to catch the audiences attention. I can t speak enough

Yamamoto had a complex invasion plan that included a second operation against the Aleutian

The U.S. knew absolutely everything, with skillful work in radio communication and

The Wire By David Simon
In David Simon s The Wire, a stunningly accurate portrait of oppressive institutions in Baltimore
are explored from multiple perspectives, including the police force, government, and the street

that depicts the members of the drug trade as complicated people, not just evil caricatures, and
where the wrongdoing of the policeand government are shown. Moreover, the show has become
one of the few applauded shows to accurately represent urban inequality and the people subjected to

Children see the drug lords as the epitome of masculinity, and aspire to be just like them.
Children living on the streets in Baltimore are living trying to be children, while also being
almost as low as they can get in society. With little power caused by institutional oppression,
people look to find power anywhere they can, which means often leads to violence in order to
find power over other people. Children are exposed to these ideas about masculinity by the adults
around them, such as when children are seen emulating Omar shooting people. Their role models
come from their environment, and their environment incites violence as the way to have power.
These children are already chasing manhood, which in the inner city means taking the prerogatives
of men with respect to strangers, other men, and women being distinguished, (Anderson, 1994,
12). These ideas come to light at an early age, as seen in season 4, where to middle school boys
allegedly rape a girl in the school bathroom. They are already trying to find their power and
manhood through violence and hurting others.
Simon s portrayal of manhood is accurate, but what is not accurate is the other half of society that
is forgotten in the shows depiction: the women. Although there are a few female characters on the
street that are shown to have power, such as the women Omar teams up with

The Devil Tree Short Story
THE HOUSE There was once a tree the local farmers and city folk referred too as the Devil Tree.
According to local legend, those who came in contact with the tree, especially anyone who did
harm to the Devil Tree, had dire consequences. Cursed! exclaimed the men and women of the
city. They may have been right, as it seems generations of people already lay dead due to the
Devil Tree. As time went on the old tree was finally cut down. The tree was cut into building
wood and later built into a house, and like the tree, the house was alive. It had memory and most
importantly it had hunger. Over many more generations the house passed from owner to owner
until one year, an unordinary couple bought the house. The Hatman s lived in the house for five
years during the 80s without moving out. People in the city became curious, specifically one
person: Dr. Toboggan. He had lived next door to the house for fifteen years and heard all the
horrible things that had happened inside the house. Now even though he still hears the noises he
sees the Hatman s get their mail every day. One day he saw the Hatman s bring something into their

Relationship Between The Stamp And Currency Act
Before the American Revolution, Great Britain ruled its colonies in North America. The ruling
government imposed strict taxes via its acts of parliament. Most of these taxes raised revenue for
the British troops and settling debts arising from the Indian and French war (1756 1753). This
paper provides details of the Stamp and Currency Acts.
The Stamp Act
On March 22, 1765, the British Parliament passed the Stamp Act which became effective on
November 1, 1765. This act implemented a direct tax requiring the colonies to use stamped papers
on all printed materials (George). The printed materials had a revenue stamp to facilitate tax
collection. Colonies paid the stamp tax using the British currency. The colonies used paper money
that could not pay the stamp tax. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The printed materials included newspapers, legal documents, and magazines among others. On
April 1763, George Grenville became British prime minister replacing John Stuart ( Stamp Act 1765
). Grenville appointed distributors of the stamp in the colonies, some of them included local
colonists. George Grenville initiated the Stamp Act.
The act faced a hostile reception where residents of major colonies protested against the act and
aired their concerns. Stamp distributors were in serious trouble. For instance, protesters hung
Andrew Oliver on an elm tree on August 14, 1765. He distributed stamps in Massachusetts.
Violence continued in critical colonies such as Rhodes Island and New York.
On October 1765, representatives from different colonies met in New York to discuss on
petitioning the Stamp Act. The meeting was known as the Stamp Act Congress. The
representatives provided proof that the parliament did not have the right to tax them. Meanwhile,
protests continued, and so many people lost their lives ( Stamp Act 1765 ). On March 18, 1766,
the royal assent repealed the act.

Executive Summary
Introduction
In the paper, the researcher learned about the poor integration system that was created by the
consulted. In order to improve the system there were certain things that had to be enhanced such as
the security within four main department of the campus, so it was necessary to find the best way to
reduce the WAN, include a VLAN structure and reduce broadcast traffic.
Methodology
An IP addressing table that includes routes for Denver and Houston was created to update the
router and link addresses. A multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) will be used to enhance the

Weapons of the American Civil War Essay
Weapons of the American Civil War
Amongst the most lasting of factors stemming from the Civil War are the weapons that were
developed. Before the Civil War, the weapons used were highly unreliable, and were not advanced
enough to provide the needed defense for a young nation such as our own. Innovative minds created
many interesting ways to demolish their enemies without ever having to fire a shot or go into full
combat through different types of bombs that were in disguise. Among the advancements in the
Civil War were the torpedo, the carbine rifle, the minie` ball, several models of rifle muskets, rocket
launchers, rocket bombs, Greek Fire, and a wide array of other secret weapons.
Torpedoes were quite possibly the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A few years of development and a patent later, the minie` ball was ready for combat. In the 1850
s, James H. Burton, a master of arms, made a few alterations such as slightly lengthening the bullet
and thinning the walls of the hollow base. These alterations made the minie` ball much easier and
cheaper to mass produce; this is what was used by the blue and gray s out on the battlefields.
The Union soldiers were more likely to carry the U.S. Model 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket than
any other weapon. These guns were not the easiest or most convenient weapons even if they
were the most common. The Model 1861 was a .58 caliber gun, was 58.5 inches long, and
weighed in at a heavy 9.25 pounds. This rifle was nicknamed The Widow Maker. This nickname
was made with great thanks to the minie` bullet which was an integral part of this rifle musket.
The combination of the rifle musket and the minie` bullet forever changed the face of warfare;
thus because for the first time ever, men could aim at a distant target, and have a decent chance of
hitting it. This luxury allowed the gun bearers to hide in a safe place, yet still be able to knock
down their target. Colonel George Hanger, an American Revolution officer, wrote in 1814:

The Importance Of Education And Student Success
Success is different from one person to another. Most people earn their success through hard work
and dedication in order to achieve success. Before I began to do research on student success my
assumptions were that several students only worried about themselves and their education and that
other people or schools did not push them to do better in school. Also before I began to do research,
another assumption of mine about student success was that educationwas similar around the whole
world. The type of research that was conducted to find ways of education and student success was
done by reading several articles and watching a documentary. Anaheim schools can improve student
success by having fewer summer vacations and having longer school hours. Another way that
Anaheim schools can improve student success is by having a growth mindset so they can know
how much effort they put on there work when facing challenges. Finally the last way to improve
student success at Anaheim schools is by requiring students to take extracurricular activities after
school like joining a sport, dance, any school clubs, band and more. But several students believe that
researchers misunderstand other students when it comes to being successful.
Education is extremely important, but some things in our education system are not working in
Anaheim schools because many students have low test scores or have low GPA s and are not
putting enough effort or success into their education. In order to

A Brief Look at Porfirio Diaz
Porfirio Diaz was the president of Mexico who was responsible for the modernization and
industrialization that took place in the country. His motto was paz, orden y progresso, he didn t
want there to be wars in Mexico like there had been in prior years. He wanted there to be change
and progress. In order to accomplish paz y orden he was known to be ruthless and crude. Diaz
was not going to tolerate disloyalty or disobedience and for those who chose to do it anyways
suffered the consequences. For some it would be exile and for others it would be going to work in
the haciendas as peones. Furthermore for the first time Mexicohad shown its potential and had
begun to catch up with a rapidly changing world. The nation s achievements in technology and
culture went on display around the globe at world fairs and expositions in Europe and the United
States (Deeds, Meyer Sherman, p. 347). Diaz built the railroads that tied the nation together and
provided the vision and the reality of modern economic development (Wasserman, p. 166). In
addition to the railroads, two technological innovations spurred mining: the general use of
electricity provided light, but more important, powered pumps, trams, and other crucial equipment
(Wasserman, p. 175). Mexico was finally becoming the modern, industrialized country that people
had envisioned. The railroad and mining brought jobs to Mexico so there were employment
opportunities for those who wanted to work. For many Mexicans it meant leaving

The Rebirth Of Ancient Cultures

The Rebirth of Ancient Cultures in Renaissance Florence Florence, Italy is known as the cradle of
the Renaissance (la culla del Rinascimento). It is a city full of beautiful architecture, art, and
history. The Renaissance was a powerful cultural movement that not only shaped all aspects of
Florentine life, but eventually the rest of Europe. Science, art, literature, philosophy, religion,
architecture, and politics have seen heavy influences by this movement. The term Renaissance
literally means rebirth : the rebirth of man and the rebirth of two important ancient cultures, Greek
and Roman, which had been lost with the beginning of the Middle Ages in Western history. Florence
was very prosperous during the late Middle Ages, next to Venice and Milan. It was the birthplace of
many important thinkers, artists, architects, and political figures who led the Renaissance. Along
with the birth of the philosophy of humanism, the rebirth of ancient Greek and Roman cultures
were driven by a revived interest in ancient thought, the advances in literature, the emphasis of
human based ideals in the arts, and the influence of the papacy and the Holy Roman Empire upon
the Florentine government. Italian thinkers had an interest in the ways that ancient Greeks and
Romans thought, a driving force of the Renaissance. It was the Florentines who first set out to
rediscover the glorious past of these cultures. They strongly believed

The Frogs
Aristophanes The Frogs was first performed at the festival of Dionysus in 504BC, a year before
the end of the Peloponnesian war, and was so well received it not only won the competition for
comedy, but was also given an encore taking the form of a second performance in that same year.
At the time of the plays performance Athens was run by an assembly of its citizens, in some ways
comparable to a modern democracy, where any man who had completed two years of military
service was able to vote. Politics therefore was an important part of Athenian life, with many young
men studying the art of debating, something reflected in The Frogsby its many references and
illusions to political figures. It is hard to doubt that in his play Aristophanes intended to educate or
inform his audience, especially considering the plays many allusions to the advisory role of poets.
The objective of this essay therefore is not to answer the question does Aristophanes inform, educate
and entertain his audience in the frogs but to identify both where and how he does so, both
linguistically and structurally. The problem with this however is that any talk about the... Show

making processed food healthier can contribute to the battle of the obese in our society. Freedman
also says that the foodthese companies are cooking are making people sick and how it is

believes that we constantly let people put all of these things in our foods but no one is stopping it.
Freedman believes we can stop this situation by using certain tools and strategies to make
processed foods healthier, yet have the same taste to everything. He states in the reading, If the food

How Does Reflexology Work
Reflexology is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on the soles of the feet and sometimes
the palms of the hands. The zone therapy theory behind reflexology was first introduced in 1915 by
an ear, nose and throat doctor named William Fitzgerald. It was later developed into modern
reflexology by American physiotherapist Eunice Ingram. Practitioners believe that certain regions
on the hands and feet correspond to other parts of the body, including internal organs and glands,
and applying pressure to these points can encourage health in the corresponding areas through
natural energy pathways. Although reflexologyis not proven to directly affect the course of disease,
many who receive it report relief of physical symptoms.
How Does Reflexology Work?
One way reflexology may work is by relaxing the body and relieving stress, which encourages
natural healing and regeneration. Another theory is that it works with the central nervous system,
taking advantage of the connections between peripheral nerves, skin and internal organs. The
application of pressure to specific points sends a message to peripheral nerves to adjust the
corresponding areas tension level, improve circulation, stimulate ... Show more content on

the hand is conducted in a similar fashion. Treatments should not be painful. If you experience pain,

The Renaissance Er The Era Of The Individual
The Renaissance period started in the 14th century and later ended in the 16th century. Right after
the Gothic era ended the Renaissance period was born. Additionally, people believe that the Gothic
era contained artwork that later evolved in the Renaissance time period. For instance, Gothic art had
a naturalistic representation and so did Renaissanceart. However, it was more obvious in the
Renaissance art. During this time period there was sparks of interest in the sciences and arts.
Before many people had forgot about them or either had no interest in them. The last time those
two subjects were at a high note was before the middle ages. This revival of sciences and arts
took place during the fifteenth century and is known as the Renaissance. The word Renaissance
is French and means rebirth , which perfectly describes what happened to the arts and sciences.
Ultimately, the Renaissance era was the era of the individual. Renaissance art included human
beings and was a change in the art world. The last time human beings were being represented in
art was during classical antiquity. For instance, an artist named Donato Bardi created a naked life
size sculpture. He named it David and gave it contrapposto pose, which means the human figures
legs and hips are turned in the opposite direction of the shoulders and chest. Bardi was the first
artist to create a naked life size sculpture during this time period. The architecture artwork created
during this time was very accurate in

The Importance Of Language Creation And Language Change
Language creation and language change have long been topics that genuinely interest linguists.
They apply their knowledge to different disciplines all across the spectrum of linguistics, from sign
language to vowel changes. Sign languages, which convey meaning through complex hand gestures
and facial expressions, are relatively young languages that emerged among deaf communities across
the globe. On the other hand, vowel shifts are changes in languagepronunciation that have been
taking place throughout human history. Despite all the research that has been done, linguists are
still uncertain about factors that contribute to language creation. Nevertheless, it is reasonable to
infer that language creation is fostered by communities where communication is hindered, and that
the size of the community is a determining factor. Language change, on the other hand, is mainly
driven by the ways in which people interact on a daily basis.
The desperate need for communication in small communities is the first step toward creating
new languages. One of the best pieces of evidence we have for how language emerges is
homesign, which is also an example of how language creation is influenced by size. Homesign
system, a self created system of communication used by deaf individuals who have not been
exposed to a sign language (Brentari Goldin Meadow, 2016, p.364), is created uniformly among
deaf individuals who are not exposed to any spoken or sign language as a means of communicating

Now that I have discussed the use of force and whether it is excessive or not I will begin to
answer the original question posed. Does the family of the teens have any legal recourse available
to them, and if so what is available to them? The answer to this is yes the families definitely have
legal recourse available to them for a number of reasons. The first mistake the officers made was
pulling over the teens because they thought they might have been involved in a recent string of
burglaries. That right there is a violation of the teens Fourth Amendment to have probable cause to
stop them in the first place. Police officers have to have probable cause or more than a hunch to
pull someone over. The scenario said nothing about the car was pulled over because maybe a
witness saw the car leaving the scene of the crime, or maybe the officer had a description of the
suspect and they matched it, he just thought they might be involved. Secondly, they did question
the teens and because of their responses the officer becomes angry and pulls the teens out of the
car. The officer had no right to pull the teens out of the car because of what they said.

The Stories of Suffering During the Balkan War Explained...
In the 1990s, war engulfed the Balkans. Part of the purpose was a method called ethnic
cleansing and in that cleansing, thousands of women were raped and killed by Serb military
men. Part one of the Women War Peace special, titled I Came to Testify follows the process of
the international court of law as 16 women take the stand against the general during the war,
Ratko Mladic. The purpose of this documentary is to tell the stories of those who suffered during
the war and lived to tell their story and get justice for the heinous acts committed against them. I
believe that this documentary was very well done in showing the 16 women stand up for
themselves for the first time and break their silence years after the war. They only spoke,... Show

One thing I liked about this documentary was that it followed the stories of the women in the
Balkans and also had a male giving his story, which was interesting since the documentary was
about the torture of women. I think this added to the objectivity of the documentary because it
showed that they were getting the story from both males and females, since ethnic cleansing
happened to everyone. This documentary seems to point to the idea that the Serb men thought they
were superior to women, and they thought it was perfectly justified to rape the women, when in
fact, they are not superior to men in any way and the women did not deserve this treatment. One
interesting part of the trial in the documentary was that, when the wartime general was put on the
stand, he claimed that he unwillingly raped a woman because she was hinting at it herself, rather
than him advancing towards her. The lawyer questioned him, however, and was able to get the real
story out, but he still attempted to turn this on to the women. This disgusted me because in a court
where women are standing up for their rights against a man who is known to be guilty, he had the
courage to even try and blame the woman, who he took from her home, killed her family, and
threatened her, by saying she made advances at him. This documentary showed the terrible actions
done to women by the Serb military men in the Balkans during the war and ethnic cleansing. It
showed the women standing up for justice

Achieving Motivation At The Workplace
Question:
1.What is the best way to achieve motivation at work? Explain your answer with reference to
relevant literature and examples.
Problem Statement:
Achieving motivation at the workplace is extremely important as the desire for workers to perform
more efficiently and higher in terms of quality can directly influence the overall performance of a
company (Ridgeway, 1982). Thus, discovering the best way to achieve motivation at work is a very
necessary topic to be discussed. However, the definition of the best may vary from person to
person. The best way to achieve motivation in this essay is defined as achieving work efficiency as
high as possible while maintaining the high morale of employees.
Argument Outline:
В·There is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theory is the first management theory and it s 100 years old (Stoner, Edward, Gilbert, 2003)
but some of its principles are still effective. Although It treats workers as machines and pre
program them to do their respective jobs and rewards workers for good and excellent working
results and punish them if they fail to make the standard, it introduced piece rates to raise the
employees initiative and therefore enhance the productivity.
В·Evidence: Though being old, practice like piece rate introduced by Taylorism never ages,
especially for labor intensive industries, and even some rather new and fancy industries. For
example, according to the Guardian, 2016, UberEats drivers and riders can earn ВЈ3.30 per
delivery, plus a ВЈ4 promotion amount per job between 11.30am and 2.30pm, or a ВЈ3 promotion
between 6.30pm and 9.30pm, as well as the mileage payment. Piece rate well stimulates the
motivation of workers to do more, do better. Working as a part time translator for a media, my
job was to translate English articles or videos into another language, and I got generously paid on
piece rate. If the articles or videos attracted more readers attention than expected, I could get a
bonus pay which may be higher than or at least equal to the normal pay I got from the translation
work, so I was quite hard working and really dedicated a huge amount of time to the work.
В·Theory: Human Relations Theory argues that employees are not machines and

How Do We Dependent On Technology
As I said in my previous essay, not many people realize it, but the human race desperately
depends on technology for existence. Although depending on things such as computers, cellular
devices, and search engines comes with very helpful and developmental research, it has also
come with many negative effects. Technology has literally affected all aspects of life for every
living person. To the point where it has made people lazy, taken their jobs, and has even made
people addicted to social networking. Some examples of problems are constant use of social
media, texting and driving incidents, cyberbullying, and even cheating on tests or exams. I
believe that we ve become evermore negatively dependent on technology because humans now
feel the need to socialize and connect with one another more frequently than they did before the
turn of the 21st century. I strongly believe that all the problems that I listed a bove do have a
solution to them. Focusing on the technology that is used most commonly, which are laptops,
computers, and cell phones, I would like to specifically write about the topic of using a cellular
device while driving, and cyberbullying. The reason why I decided to use the term using a
cellular device while driving is because nowadays people not only text and drive, but they also use
social platforms such as instagram, snapchat, and even facebook. The increase in social media use
also increases the rate of bullyingthat is done online. These two are the major causes of feeling the
need to connect with one another. The constant texting and the boost of social media use.
There are many ways that distracted driving can affect you. In the article How Far Does Your
Vehicle Travel While Looking at Your Cell Phone, author Tony Summerville states that, Sending
or reading a text takes your eyes off the road for 5 seconds. AT 55 mph, that s like driving the
length of an entire football field, blindfolded. A lot can happen in those hundred yards that a
person travels while they re distracted. The worst thing that could ever happen in the event of a car

classical music and opera to paintings and cartoons. From Goethe to Radiohead, Dr. Faustus thirst
for knowledge and the chaos this desire produces have captivated artists of all disciplines. This

Therefore, it is this paper s aim to examine some of the similarities and differences in Christopher
Marlowe s The Tragic History of the Life and Death of Dr. Faustus and David Mamet s Faustus,
specifically the presence of religious practices in these two texts.
Christopher Marlowe wrote The Tragic History of the Life and Death of Dr. Faustus during the
Elizabethan Era, and the original production is said to have occurred in 1592 (David M.
Bevington i). Queen Elizabeth I s reign was one of religious conflict, political turmoil, and
brilliant works by artists and therefore, church and state cannot be considered separately when
discussing Elizabethan England. Her majesty was not only the commander, but also the head of
the church. Under her reign, every English citizen was required by law to attend liturgical
services. Membership to the church was a birthright and an obligation, as inescapable as
participation in the political body of the commonwealth (Collinson 74 75). To illustrate, Richard
Hooker offers an excellent image for Marlowe s society: church and state resembled the sides or
the base of a triangle (Hooker 336). Now, specifically, Calvinism was rapidly becoming the
accepted doctrine in Elizabethan England, and the religious elements present in Marlowe s version
of Faust are almost certainly rooted in Calvinism.
In the beginning of the play, Dr. Faustus dismisses his previous education as unfulfilling and makes
a point to reject Divinity. This abhorrence of

Essay On Evelina
The enthusiasm in Evelina s early letters to Mr. Villars is ironic considering many of the
experiences she has both in London and Bristol are difficult and unpleasant. Often in these
situations, she s the victim to social protocols. Throughout Evelina, the titular character is a victim
of a combination of physical, social, and mental constraint. During her time in London, Evelina is
the victim of physical restraint. Innocent places like a garden, an opera house, or a carriage turn

it clear he will go home in a chair. Evelina responds with How grateful did I feel for a proposal so

he asks about the two women he saw with Evelina at Marybone without saying the women were

The Godfather music
Music from the Godfather Trilogy The Godfather opens with a dark trumpet solo, which were the
opening titles for The Godfather Part II and III too. This is Vito s theme. The theme is a waltz,
but unlike an ordinary waltz, it evokes a range of varied emotions. It sounds intimate in the garden
scene but threatening in the actual main title and The Halls of Fear, for the scene in which
Michael finds his father without protection in the hospital. The final appearance of the theme in
the first film is over the end credits, where it is more sad than intimate or threatening. The Baptism
The baptism scene is where Michael kills all of his enemies while he attends his nephew s baptism
as his godfather. In this brilliant piece of music,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Godfather part 2, when the procession happens in the street, the crowds break into dancing to
this piece of music. This piece is very Italian and it fits well with the scene, because you feel how
close the community is to one another and it shows just how happy and lively the people are.
Kays Theme Kay s Theme is a piece of music which, just like Michael s Theme , is kind of a
leitmotif but for Kay this time. It is a romantic yet melancholy theme which depicts Kay s
troubled life very well. This piece of music is heard in Godfather Part II and was composed by
Nino Rota. A New Carpet This piece of music was composed, yet again, by Nino Rota and if the
background music for the scene in Godfather Part II, when Vito (when he was young) and
Clemenza steal a carpet for Vito s small flat. Unlike the other music pieces described above, this
one exaggerates the humour in the scene and makes it funnier to watch, which is what Nino Rota
was trying to achieve. Overall, the music in the Godfather Trilogy fits perfectly with whichever
scene it is in or whatever mood it is trying to convey. Nino Rota and Carmine Coppola, the main
composers in this film, are very talented and good at what they do. In my opinion, Speak Softly
Love is the best piece of music in the film because of the meaning that has been put into it and all of
the emotions that come out of it. The Godfather Trilogy has some unforgettable and legendary
music themes. The

Absorption Spectrum Of Dyes Lab Report
Absorption Spectrum of Conjugated Dyes
Bashar Baraz
Lab Partners: whole class
Physical Chemistry II
3/22/2015
Abstract: The highly conjugated system of the cyanine dyes makes it a very good compound in
the development of more efficient solar cells. In this experiment, the maximum wavelength was
measured for nine dyes using a UV Vis spectrum. The result that were obtained agreed with Kuhn
s model for the less polarizable end groups such as 3,3 diethyloxadicarbocyanine and 3,3
diethyloxatricarbocyanine. That suggested that these two compounds were not as easy to polarize
compared to the rest of the dyes. The rest of the dyes required the use of the empirical parameter
О± to provide more reliable predictions of the wavelengths. This was due to the highly polarized
ends of the dyes which needed the adjustment of the parameter to get more accurate results. The
series with the higher polarizable end groups absorbed higher wavelength light than the less
polarized groups. This supported the idea of the one dimensional box. Also, higher wavelength was
determined to be associated with longer conjugated carbon methine chains between the Nitrogen
atoms. Kuhn s free electron model was very reliable for this system.
Introduction:
The conjugated electron system in polymethine dyes allows these compounds to absorb light in the
visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Many of the carbocyanine dyes contain a different
number of methine carbons with two

House Of Representatives Essay
The U.S. House of Representatives most important job is creating laws. Every law in the United
states start as bills, but before a bill can become a law it has to be approved by the U.S. House of
Representatives, the President, and the U.S. Senate. All laws start as ideas. Various ideas may
come from just a ordinary American citizen or even a Representative. People who have ideas for
laws may contact their Representative to share it with them. In the case that the Representative
agrees with their idea, they will do their research and write them into bills. After the Representative
has written a bill, the bill then needs to have a sponsor. They reach out to other Representatives and

House of Representatives, a number that starts with H.R. is assigned to it by a bill clerk. The
bill is then read over by a reading clerk to all the Representatives. Last the bill is sent to one of
the House standing committees by the Speaker of the House. Once the bill has reached the
committee, the groups of Representatives and committee members which are the experts on
various topics like education, international relations, or agriculture, all research, revise, and
review the bill before they vote on whether they should sent the bill back tto the House floor or
not. In the case that the committee members decide they want more information before making
a decision if the bill should be sent to the House floor, they send the bill to something called a
subcommittee, this is where the bill is examined closely and opinions from experts are brought
together before sending the bill back to the committee for a approval. Once the committee has
finally approved the bill, it will be sent and/ or reported to the House of floor. At that point the
bill is ready to be debated by the U.S. House of Representatives. The next process is when the bill
is debated, representatives talk over the bill and explain to each other whether they agree or

Compare And Contrast Steinem Vs Shlafly
During the 1900s there were very many problems. From two worlds wars the great depressions,
the civil rights movement. Another big dispute during this era was women s rights. In this time
period women did not have the same rights that men did. Some women wanted this to change and
wanted to be equal to men. Other women believed that the rights they already had were all they
needed and their spot in society was connected to tradition. Gloria Steinem and Phyllis Schlafly
were two women that disagreed on this issue. Steinem expressed her beliefs in her speech Equal
Rights for Women Yes and No and Schlafly stated her beliefs in her speech What s Wrong with
Equal Rights for Women? Both of these speeches gave very convincing points about their... Show

Schlafly starts her speech off with saying that American women are the most privileged to ever
live out of all the classes. This is a point that is up for debate but it shows how she feels about
women s rights at that certain point and time. In her speech the first main she states she brings
up the point that women have babies and men do not. She says if you do not like this that the
only person you can take your problem up with is God because he created it that way. On side
note when women are pregnant and have to carry around a baby for nine months it makes them
look very strong. By making that point about women carrying babies I feel Schlafly is defending
men and women. Schlafly then goes on to state all the sacrifices men make for women. She says
In America, a man s first significant purchase is a diamond for his bride, and the largest
investment of his life is a home for her to live in. This is a very good point and it seems that she
is saying that women should be thankful for all that men do to make sure they have a good life
and that they are happy. She also says that it is a good thing that men sacrifice so much so women
do not have to do hard

Adam Smith s View Of Capitalism
Q3. Adam Smith was a professor at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Adam Smith defended
the ideas of a free economy or a free market. He wrote about his ideas in his book The Wealth of
Nations. In his book, he addressed three main claims that he believed backed up his thesis of
capitalism. Capitalism is an economic system in which the production is privately owned and
money is invested for the purpose of a profit. Adam Smiths main belief was that the government
should have no control within a business.
Adam Smith was the founder of the capitalism theory. He strongly believed that the government
should not interfere with the businesses. To back up his claims about the government, he wrote his
own book setting forth his own ideas on the topic. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adam Smith would argue that competition would force people to make better products.
Honestly, I would agree with his claim on competition. I agree because, when you are faced with
competition, you want to make yourself better than the other person. For example, if you had
your on business and someone else decided to start up a business similar to yours, competition
would begin quickly. The other new business would come as a threat, you would need to ensure
that your current consumers stayed with your business. If you began to lose consumers to your
competitor, your business would not last very long. With Adam Smith s law of competition, it
would quite literally force business owners to make better products. Consumers were looking for
the best product with the cheapest price. For example, your business sold a phenomenal product;
however, your latest rival also sold the same satisfying product for a cheaper price. The consumer
would learn more towards the business that sold the product for the lower price. In the end, as a
business owner, you would want to sell the best quality of your product at the lowest price
possible. The law of competition would ensure the consumer with a win win situation, consider the
quality and low price of the

Administration Essay
Preparation
Firstly, to prepare for the first administration of the CAS, I read the examiner manual which
explained that in order for the results to be interpretable and avoid reducing of reliability and
validity, the assessment should be administered according to the procedures and recommended
testing conditions (Das Naglieri, 1997). There were several key points to be familiar with which
are: the materials needed in each subtest (ie. Response book, red pencil, stopwatch), the starting
points according to age, the time limits per item, scoring of each item, and the discontinue rules. I
then reviewed the record forms, response booklets, and marked the starting points according to
Jhallen s and Sierra s age with highlighter and post it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, I made changes with Sierra s assessment and decided to split it in two sessions with
two subtests each session in order to avoid fatigueness.
Building Rapport According to Das and Naglieri (1997), it is important to establish rapport with
the examinee but also be aware of providing praise and compliment that may influence the results. I
found it fairly easy to build rapport with Jhallen as I have conducted an interview for the first
assignment. As the setting was more relaxed, Jhallen often asked some questions in which I found
it difficult to not repeat the item or give guidance. In order to not compromise the standardization of
the test, I reminded Jhallen in every beginning of the task that I cannot give guidance. On the
other hand, my assessment with Sierra required more effort in building rapport as she appeared to
be shy and quiet in the beginning. In order to establish rapport I had a brief conversation about her
day and introduced the assessment, emphasising that some of the tasks may be easy or difficulty
but to try her best. To maintain rapport during the assessment, I made sure that she understood the
instructions of every task and be aware that I could not provide help or feedback.
Report Writing The CAS Examiner s Manual provided steps in scoring and interpreting the scores. I
found the instructions to score the CAS results to be straightforward. It was also very

The Game At 3 O Clock
The game was supposed to start at 3 o clock, but it never started right on time anyway. I asked my
dad to look at his phone to see what time it was, 2:55 right on the dot. I got out of the pool and
put on a towel to run inside. I sat right in front of the TV on the couch. My parents walked in
after me. Honey don t sit on the couch or else you ll get it wet , said my mom, I really wasn t
listening, AVERY, get off the couch now!
I moved down to the floor and took the remote looking through the channels to find the game. I
found it right when the announcers were still talking about the starting players. They had just
said my favorite player, Alex Morgan, was on the starting line up. My mom brought over a bowl
of popcorn to eat, even though I wasn t supposed to eat it because of my braces, but no one would
know. The game started and I sat up on my knees so intrigued with the game in the first four
seconds. Within a few minutes the US had scored and I was going crazy.
I screamed right in my dad s face, The third minute. They scored in the third minute. Did you see
Lloyd coming in there Japan? NO you didn t, no you didn t! Oh this is going to be a very
interesting game, isn t it! , my dad said calmly looking at my mom, who had been sitting on the
floor.
I was on the ground again trying not to get the couch wet, because that would be frowned upon by
my mother. I was now sitting criss crossed applesauce when the US got back down to Japan s side
of the field. I stood up

Economics Of Immigration
July 05, 2016
Introduction
When touching upon the topic of immigration and the United States economy, one must
acknowledge that the impact that immigrants have on the economy can be perceived as both
negative and positive. For years there has always been an ongoing debate whether the benefits
outweighs the costs. One can be led to believe that immigration increases a nations overall
productivity. Therefore, leading to an overall increase in profits. However, other factors such as the
cost of migration, complementary versus substitute labor and illegal immigration do impact the
nations average labor wages, American businesses and politics on all economic levels. It is often
easier to assume that immigration, especially when it involves undocumented ... Show more content

It s easy to argue that illegal immigrants are stealing the jobs that a typical native born citizen
would have. However, immigration in a sense where supply and demand can be applied benefits
the economy because it generates more production. Immigrants are more open to lower wages,
therefore reducing the cost of production and the cost of products for businesses and the average
consumers. In addition, one may argue that immigrants lower the average wage when in fact it
does not affect the skilled worker which is often referred to as the native born. Lastly, when it
comes taking jobs as opposed to providing them, it is easy to stem away from the fact that
immigrants are complementary resources as opposed to substitute ones. Immigrants can generate
more jobs and prevent businesses from going more automotive. Although politically, immigration is
seen as an economic strain, it also keeps the economy

Summary Of Waiting For Godot
Class 2 B
Roll no. 690
Subject Contemporary Literature
Relevance of Act 2 in Waiting for Godot
Waiting for Godot is an absurdist play written by Samuel Beckett. The play seems to refuse any
attempt to impose meaning systematically. The author would have us believe that time is
meaningless, that repetition rules all, that inertia is manifest and human life is pointless. This idea
that human life lacks meaning and purpose and that humans live in an indifferent universe is often
associated with Existentialist writers like Albert Camus and Jean Paul Sartre who, unlike Beckett,
brought to life their dark ideas in traditional linear novels and plays with round rather than flat
characters. Critics argue that Beckett s non traditional play, a classic example of what has come to
be known as the Theatre of the Absurd, more fully clarifies the era s bleak existentialist vision. It is
a vision of irrationality sheer waiting without end or outcome; yet these experiences of
shapelessness and purposelessness are given powerful and distinctive shape by distinctive dramatic
structure and elaborate repetitions.
Swati Pal in her essay, Repetition and Recollection In Waiting For Godotsays, Act 2 is only a
variation of Act 1, almost a near repetition of it . Act I and Act II are threads in a repetitive pattern.
Everything has happened over and over before and chances are that the pattern will continue to
repeat itself over and over again. Both have essentially the same beginning, occur

Psychosocial Model Of Nursing Diagnosis
In the psychosocial component, the nursing diagnosis assigned to this client would be ineffective
pattern of giving and receiving. This is due to the fact that the client has recently experienced the
death of her spouse. This mode deals with affectional adequacy and developmental adequacy.
Affectional adequacy is defined as the ability to give and receive affection from others (Nickerson,
2015). This is important to an individual because it deals with the human need associated with
nurturing. This includes receptive and contributive factors (Nickerson, 2015). Since the client has
lost her spouse, she stated that she felt that she did not receive the kind of affection her spouse
gave her. Of course her familyloves her and treats her well, but she stated... Show more content on

The structural component of this mode includes the significant other. Since this person is no longer
alive, she cannot receive the same nurturing that she once had. Another aspect of this mode is the
client s support system. The other aspects of this client s support system include the rest of the
family, her children, grandchildren, and extended family. In addition, the client s giving behaviors
include making gifts for others, providing love/care to her grandchildren, and ensuring that her
family members feel loved and supported. However, the receiving behaviors of the client are not as
evident. Some stimuli for this nursing diagnosis include the focal stimuli, which is the fact that the
client lost her husband last year. A contextual stimulus includes the family dynamic and the
separation of most of the family from the other, during this period of adjustment to the death of her
spouse. This includes both a family dynamic and environment stimuli because the client s
environment is changed. In terms of residual stimuli, the client s own aging process and health
problems could both be

If you don t have a clear understanding, you could be digging yourself a hole by giving a bad haircut, but the wrong haircut. The first and most important step to giving a good haircut and maintain this customer for life is a thorough evaluation and consultation. This consists of a proper greeting when you seat your customer at your station. You wantto be sure to listen to your client and ask questions. It is pretty much personal choice and up to the client. I personally like the razor. In today s society there isn t much want or need for a perfectly clean hair cut, and the razor achieves kind of a messy, not so clean look. Never try to hide a mistake, everyone knows that when you get a haircut the first thing you do is go home and look closely, so don t even attempt it, it just causes embarrassment later. After approval, apply gel to the hair and explain the process and why you are applying. This is a sure way to get them to purchase the product also, and make your commission oh so sweet! Upon wanting you to style their hair, blow dry and style to their liking. Be sure to demonstrate and tell them what you are doing so they can go home and achieve the same look. There is nothing more frustrating when leaving a salon looking great and then never being able to get the look again because you don t know how, sure it makes the stylist look like a magician, but in reality, we want the client to love their hair and be able to work with it at home. • 6. Housing Data Point Towards A Housing Market Bubble Does Recent Housing Data Point Towards Another Housing Market Bubble? The last housing crash was devastating to the global financial community. Considering the current trends in the housing market, are we becoming more at risk for another housing bubble? The experts continue to debate this contentious question. As home prices continue to skyrocket, speculation in the market persists and reinforces the upward trend in the housing market. Data from the National Association of Realtors, or NAR, reveals that some of the conditions that led to the 2007 2009 housing bubble and crash began reappearing in 2015. According to NAR, home price increases have been incredible in the previous years; in May 2015, 39 successive months of increases in housing prices was recorded; since the last housing bubble and crash, from May 2014 to May 2015, home prices have gone up a staggering 7.9%. In addition, the NAR noted that 5.1% of the existing housing market inventory sold, which when seasonally adjusted, equated to a rate of 5.35 million homes. Recent financial data indicates median home prices have shot up more than a whopping 35% in the past 4 years, and the amount of residential real estate sold increased up to or past 30%. Is the current housing market in correction territory? Although some would say it s only natural the housing market push such new heights after reaching the lows of the last bubble explosion, others would argue that the market has ultimately grown too fast and for too ... • 9. Reflective Reflection In Reflection My reflection regarding the previous classes, I found them to be very educational and engaging which I think helped me to broaden and deepen my understanding of program planning. Working on the Off campus Teaching Reflection and the Observation and Report on an Adult Learning Class or Center assignments provided me a unique opportunity to apply what I have learned from this course into the real world. In these classes, we covered the following topics: Designing Instruction, Devising Transfer of Learning Plans, Access and Participation, Formulating Program Evaluation Plans, Assessment and Evaluation, Selecting Formats, Scheduling, and Staffing Programs. After reading chapter 8 of Planning Programs for Adult Learners by Rosemary Caffarella and Sandra Daffron, it showed me when designing instruction we need to have a clear and understandable learning objectives that meet intended outcomes. But minutes into the play I was hooked, and couldn t keep my eyes off the stage. There were a few key factors that lead to my attitude doing 180 and greatly enjoying the play. The first factor was the fact it was a musical, I never seen a musical before Big Fish. To my surprise I really did like the whole feel of the musical. I thought the lines of the songs were quite funny, for example the song with the witch in it that was on of my favorite scenes. I also thought the choreography was brilliant, especially the scene with the fisherman. That was hands down my favorite part of the whole musical. Children see the drug lords as the epitome of masculinity, and aspire to be just like them. Children living on the streets in Baltimore are living trying to be children, while also being almost as low as they can get in society. With little power caused by institutional oppression, people look to find power anywhere they can, which means often leads to violence in order to find power over other people. Children are exposed to these ideas about masculinity by the adults around them, such as when children are seen emulating Omar shooting people. Their role models come from their environment, and their environment incites violence as the way to have power. These children are already chasing manhood, which in the inner city means taking the prerogatives of men with respect to strangers, other men, and women being distinguished, (Anderson, 1994, 12). These ideas come to light at an early age, as seen in season 4, where to middle school boys allegedly rape a girl in the school bathroom. The Union soldiers were more likely to carry the U.S. Model 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket than any other weapon. It is a city full of beautiful architecture, art, and history. The Renaissance was a powerful cultural movement that not only shaped all aspects of Florentine life, but eventually the rest of Europe. Science, art, literature, philosophy, religion, architecture, and politics have seen heavy influences by this movement. The term Renaissance literally means rebirth : the rebirth of man and the rebirth of two important ancient cultures, Greek and Roman, which had been lost with the beginning of the Middle Ages in Western history. Florence was very prosperous during the late Middle Ages, next to Venice and Milan. It was the birthplace of many important thinkers, artists, architects, and political figures who led the Renaissance. Along with the birth of the philosophy of humanism, the rebirth of ancient Greek and Roman cultures were driven by a revived interest in ancient thought, the advances in literature, the emphasis of human based ideals in the arts, and the influence of the papacy and the Holy Roman Empire upon the Florentine government. The zone therapy theory behind reflexology was first introduced in 1915 by an ear, nose and throat doctor named William Fitzgerald. It was later developed into modern reflexology by American physiotherapist Eunice Ingram. Practitioners believe that certain regions on the hands and feet correspond to other parts of the body, including internal organs and glands, and applying pressure to these points can encourage health in the corresponding areas through natural energy pathways. Although reflexologyis not proven to directly affect the course of disease, many who receive it report relief of physical symptoms. How Does Reflexology Work? One way reflexology may work is by relaxing the body and relieving stress, which encourages natural healing and regeneration. Nevertheless, it is reasonable to infer that language creation is fostered by communities where communication is hindered, and that the size of the community is a determining factor. Language change, on the other hand, is mainly driven by the ways in which people interact on a daily basis. The desperate need for communication in small communities is the first step toward creating new languages. One of the best pieces of evidence we have for how language emerges is homesign, which is also an example of how language creation is influenced by size. Homesign system, a self created system of communication used by deaf individuals who have not been exposed to a sign language (Brentari Goldin Meadow, 2016, p.364), is created uniformly among deaf individuals who are not exposed to any spoken or sign language as a means of communicating ... The officer believes that one of them might be responsible for a string of recent burglaries. The teens are questioned, and the officer becomes angry at their responses. Over the objections of the teenagers, both teens are pulled out of the car and shoved around a little. They are both told that they are under arrest and the officer begins to place handcuffs on them. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now that I have discussed the use of force and whether it is excessive or not I will begin to answer the original question posed. Does the family of the teens have any legal recourse available to them, and if so what is available to them? The answer to this is yes the families definitely have legal recourse available to them for a number of reasons. The first mistake the officers made was pulling over the teens because they thought they might have been involved in a recent string of burglaries. That right there is a violation of the teens Fourth Amendment to have probable cause to stop them in the first place. Police officers have to have probable cause or more than a hunch to pull someone over. The scenario said nothing about the car was pulled over because maybe a witness saw the car leaving the scene of the crime, or maybe the officer had a description of the suspect and they matched it, he just thought they might be involved. Secondly, they did question the teens and because of their responses the officer becomes angry and pulls the teens out of the car. The officer had no right to pull the teens out of the car because of what they said. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Stories of Suffering During the Balkan War Explained... In the 1990s, war engulfed the Balkans. Part of the purpose was a method called ethnic cleansing and in that cleansing, thousands of women were raped and killed by Serb military men. Part one of the Women War Peace special, titled I Came to Testify follows the process of the international court of law as 16 women take the stand against the general during the war, Ratko Mladic. The purpose of this documentary is to tell the stories of those who suffered during the war and lived to tell their story and get justice for the heinous acts committed against them. I believe that this documentary was very well done in showing the 16 women stand up for themselves for the first time and break their silence years after the war. They only spoke,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One thing I liked about this documentary was that it followed the stories of the women in the Balkans and also had a male giving his story, which was interesting since the documentary was about the torture of women. I think this added to the objectivity of the documentary because it showed that they were getting the story from both males and females, since ethnic cleansing happened to everyone. This documentary seems to point to the idea that the Serb men thought they were superior to women, and they thought it was perfectly justified to rape the women, when in fact, they are not superior to men in any way and the women did not deserve this treatment. One interesting part of the trial in the documentary was that, when the wartime general was put on the stand, he claimed that he unwillingly raped a woman because she was hinting at it herself, rather than him advancing towards her. The lawyer questioned him, however, and was able to get the real story out, but he still attempted to turn this on to the women. This disgusted me because in a court where women are standing up for their rights against a man who is known to be guilty, he had the courage to even try and blame the woman, who he took from her home, killed her family, and threatened her, by saying she made advances at him. This documentary showed the terrible actions done to women by the Serb military men in the Balkans during the war and ethnic cleansing. It showed the women standing up for justice ... • 32. Achieving Motivation At The Workplace Question: 1.What is the best way to achieve motivation at work? Explain your answer with reference to relevant literature and examples. Problem Statement: Achieving motivation at the workplace is extremely important as the desire for workers to perform more efficiently and higher in terms of quality can directly influence the overall performance of a company (Ridgeway, 1982). Thus, discovering the best way to achieve motivation at work is a very necessary topic to be discussed. However, the definition of the best may vary from person to person. The best way to achieve motivation in this essay is defined as achieving work efficiency as high as possible while maintaining the high morale of employees. Argument Outline: В·There is ... Although It treats workers as machines and pre program them to do their respective jobs and rewards workers for good and excellent working results and punish them if they fail to make the standard, it introduced piece rates to raise the employees initiative and therefore enhance the productivity. В·Evidence: Though being old, practice like piece rate introduced by Taylorism never ages, especially for labor intensive industries, and even some rather new and fancy industries. For example, according to the Guardian, 2016, UberEats drivers and riders can earn ВЈ3.30 per delivery, plus a ВЈ4 promotion amount per job between 11.30am and 2.30pm, or a ВЈ3 promotion between 6.30pm and 9.30pm, as well as the mileage payment. Working as a part time translator for a media, my job was to translate English articles or videos into another language, and I got generously paid on piece rate. If the articles or videos attracted more readers attention than expected, I could get a bonus pay which may be higher than or at least equal to the normal pay I got from the translation work, so I was quite hard working and really dedicated a huge amount of time to the work. • 33. How Do We Dependent On Technology As I said in my previous essay, not many people realize it, but the human race desperately depends on technology for existence. Although depending on things such as computers, cellular devices, and search engines comes with very helpful and developmental research, it has also come with many negative effects. Technology has literally affected all aspects of life for every living person. To the point where it has made people lazy, taken their jobs, and has even made people addicted to social networking. Some examples of problems are constant use of social media, texting and driving incidents, cyberbullying, and even cheating on tests or exams. I believe that we ve become evermore negatively dependent on technology because humans now feel the need to socialize and connect with one another more frequently than they did before the turn of the 21st century. I strongly believe that all the problems that I listed a bove do have a solution to them. Focusing on the technology that is used most commonly, which are laptops, computers, and cell phones, I would like to specifically write about the topic of using a cellular device while driving, and cyberbullying. The reason why I decided to use the term using a cellular device while driving is because nowadays people not only text and drive, but they also use social platforms such as instagram, snapchat, and even facebook. The increase in social media use also increases the rate of bullyingthat is done online. These two are the major causes of feeling the need to connect with one another. The constant texting and the boost of social media use. There are many ways that distracted driving can affect you. In the article How Far Does Your Vehicle Travel While Looking at Your Cell Phone, author Tony Summerville states that, Sending or reading a text takes your eyes off the road for 5 seconds. Therefore, it is this paper s aim to examine some of the similarities and differences in Christopher Marlowe s The Tragic History of the Life and Death of Dr. Faustus and David Mamet s Faustus, specifically the presence of religious practices in these two texts. Christopher Marlowe wrote The Tragic History of the Life and Death of Dr. Faustus during the Elizabethan Era, and the original production is said to have occurred in 1592 (David M. Bevington i). Queen Elizabeth I s reign was one of religious conflict, political turmoil, and brilliant works by artists and therefore, church and state cannot be considered separately when discussing Elizabethan England. Her majesty was not only the commander, but also the head of the church. Under her reign, every English citizen was required by law to attend liturgical services. Membership to the church was a birthright and an obligation, as inescapable as participation in the political body of the commonwealth (Collinson 74 75). To illustrate, Richard Hooker offers an excellent image for Marlowe s society: church and state resembled the sides or the base of a triangle (Hooker 336). Now, specifically, Calvinism was rapidly becoming the accepted doctrine in Elizabethan England, and the religious elements present in Marlowe s version of Faust are almost certainly rooted in Calvinism. In the beginning of the play, Dr. Faustus dismisses his previous education as unfulfilling and makes a point to reject Divinity. This abhorrence of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Absorption Spectrum Of Dyes Lab Report Absorption Spectrum of Conjugated Dyes Bashar Baraz Lab Partners: whole class Physical Chemistry II 3/22/2015 Abstract: The highly conjugated system of the cyanine dyes makes it a very good compound in the development of more efficient solar cells. In this experiment, the maximum wavelength was measured for nine dyes using a UV Vis spectrum. The result that were obtained agreed with Kuhn s model for the less polarizable end groups such as 3,3 diethyloxadicarbocyanine and 3,3 diethyloxatricarbocyanine. That suggested that these two compounds were not as easy to polarize compared to the rest of the dyes. The rest of the dyes required the use of the empirical parameter О± to provide more reliable predictions of the wavelengths. This was due to the highly polarized ends of the dyes which needed the adjustment of the parameter to get more accurate results. The series with the higher polarizable end groups absorbed higher wavelength light than the less polarized groups. This supported the idea of the one dimensional box. Also, higher wavelength was determined to be associated with longer conjugated carbon methine chains between the Nitrogen atoms. Kuhn s free electron model was very reliable for this system. Introduction: The conjugated electron system in polymethine dyes allows these compounds to absorb light in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. • 46. Summary Of Waiting For Godot Class 2 B Roll no. 690 Subject Contemporary Literature Relevance of Act 2 in Waiting for Godot Waiting for Godot is an absurdist play written by Samuel Beckett. The play seems to refuse any attempt to impose meaning systematically. The author would have us believe that time is meaningless, that repetition rules all, that inertia is manifest and human life is pointless. This idea that human life lacks meaning and purpose and that humans live in an indifferent universe is often associated with Existentialist writers like Albert Camus and Jean Paul Sartre who, unlike Beckett, brought to life their dark ideas in traditional linear novels and plays with round rather than flat characters. Critics argue that Beckett s non traditional play, a classic example of what has come to be known as the Theatre of the Absurd, more fully clarifies the era s bleak existentialist vision. It is a vision of irrationality sheer waiting without end or outcome; yet these experiences of shapelessness and purposelessness are given powerful and distinctive shape by distinctive dramatic structure and elaborate repetitions.
