Discussion Of Hate Speech
The discussion of hate speech has been going on since the late nineties with the rise of internet usage.
People, on both sides of the political spectrum, often debate about the topic at hand. On one side,
people are worried that freedom of speech will be abused and used as a tool of oppression; however,
the government disagreed. The Supreme Court did three cases that highlighted hate speech: National
Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie, R.A.V v. City of St. Paul, and Snyder v. Phelps. Those
cases protected freedom of speech and hate speech even if upset a lot of people. And people on the
other side are scared that their viewpoints would be silenced like how conservative speakers voices

The modern day controversies that have challenged the integrity of God s Word have necessitated the
question of whether fundamentalism was ever sanctioned and orchestrated by God. The Holy Bible
and historical reflection, and even, present day scientific data reveal that the origin of fundamentalism
and its ongoing transformation is in fact God s healthy apparatus to preserve the integrity of the
factual claims of Scripture. Thus, the rise of fundamentalism is God s manifestation to combat such
spiritual apparitions as higher criticism and the contamination of the world s social gospel.
The Rise of Fundamentalism Church history reveals that a number of serious biblical doctrinal
controversies occurred during the late 1800s and early 1900s that gave occasion for the formulation of
certain fundamentalist principals to be implemented as a clarification and remedy against unbiblical
manifestations. The authority of the Bible was brought into serious question. During the years of 1910
1915 a Protestant layman, Lyman Stewart brought the word fundamentalism into focus in his effort to
champion the integrity of Scripture. Mr. Stewart produced a series of pamphlets that were called The
Fundamentals. 3 Lyman Stewart advocated for a literal

Through the Eyes of Dean Winchester:
On the Road and On the Hunt In my favorite TV show, Supernatural, one of the protagonists and my
favorite character is Dean Winchester, a certainly very round character. The series begins in Lawrence,
Kansas with the demonic death of Dean s mother Mary. Consequently he, his brother Sam, and his
father John are thrust into the world of the supernatural. John becomes obsessed with hunting the evil
he encounters and ultimately tracking down the demon that killed Mary. As Dean grows, he learns
more and more about hunting, weaponry, and the supernatural creatures that haunt this world. Due to
circumstance, he is forced to grow up at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He didn t even hesitate. Dean s inner mission is to save everyone he can, especially Sam, before he
saves himself. After the death of Mary, Dean was raised on two principles: hunting and taking care of
Sam. He feels it is his job and duty to do everything in his power to protect Sam. Dean s family is his
world, and after his father dies, all he has left is Sam. In every situation where Sam is hurt or in
danger, Dean loses any inhibition or fear in order to save him. As Sam grew, Dean did his best to
shield him from the world they knew so that he could be a normal happy kid. Flashbacks throughout
many episodes show viewers their lives as they grew up. What Dean wants most is to be able to work
and survive without Sam so that he can lead a normal, happy life. He knows it is too late for him.
Later in the series, Dean gets involved with an old flame and her son. He constantly struggles to
maintain their relationship while at the same time protect them from the hazards of his lifestyle. He
eventually gives them up to keep them out of harm. The constant conflict he faces prevents him from
becoming close with people. Therefore, occasionally he has to remind Sam that they are all they have.
Every episode tends to include and end with some emotional scene in which Dean is rarely open or
agreeable to talking about his feelings. He grew up being the strong anchor for his family. To him, his

Led Zeppelin Rocks: Protestors Roar
Each new music genre introduces the counterculture or opposition of previous generation s values.
Led Zeppelin sparked the beginning of the heavy metal culture the counterculture to psychedelic rock.
The anti war movement was also prevalent in this counterculture. Led Zeppelin and the Vietnam War
influenced the new, darker, generation of rock: heavy metal.
May Day Thousands of protestors congregated in Washington D.C. on May 3rd, 1971. After two days
of protest prior, federal troops finally made an appearance. The government placed over ten thousand
troops in various locations in Washington DC. According to David (2007), 25,000 young radicals set
out to do something brash and extraordinary: shut down the federal government through nonviolent
direct action. The result about 7,000 protestors were arrested. The largest mass arrest in American
history. Known as May Day, this date is still well known today (Network, 2012).
Led Zeppelin Meanwhile, in Copenhagen, Denmark, Led Zeppelin Performed on their 1971 European

Along with Black Sabbath, they are often cited as the Godfathers of Heavy Metal. Obviously
extremely popular in the 1970s, they are best known for their influences in heavy metal despite having

The Skeptic Theory of Morality in International Relations...
Introduction: Nuclear bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, not answering the call for help in
Rwanda, allowing Germany to take over Czechoslovakia, supporting the creation of the state of Israel,
giving out loans (with interest) to developing countries, and the creation of the United Nations are all
forms of international interference and cooperation amongst states. When looking at these examples
and many more, it begs the question, does morality play a role in international affairs of a state?
George Kennan, a prominent Skeptic, would argue that in international politics other criteria, sadder,
more limited, more practical, must be allowed to prevail. In this essay, I will first present the Skeptic
argument that morality either ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These societies would then form into hierarchical civilizations leading to the modern state where laws
and rules can not only be made but enforced to make peace and order is kept within the state. (Forde,
15) In the international arena, there is no hierarchical rule to keep states in line or behaved; meaning
that the international system is constantly in anarchy, aka the state of nature. This lack of rule
enforcement puts states in a constant state of war, in a constant state where they need to stay on guard
and in a tactical advantage otherwise the safety and well being of their state will be in jeopardy. In this
scenario, the state s number one priority is to protect itself and act in its self interest when need be,
despite if it would typically be deemed immoral. (Donnelly 20) Machiavelli would go so far that it is
within every right for more powerful states to conquer and subjugate weaker states because if another
was to conquer that weaker state, they may have the advantage over you and destroy your state.
Preemptive strikes, imperialism, and unprovoked wars are fully justified to Machiavelli because you
either conquer or wait till your enemy attacks you. To some skeptics, acting in self interest is the only
form of morality in the state of nature. (Forde, 9) Thucydides creates a moral argument that there is no
justice between states of unequal power, and it is actually immoral for weaker states to resist

Ivan The Terrible Research Paper
Ivan Chetvyorty Vasilyevich was born on August 25 of 1530. His father was Basil the third and died
when Ivan was three years old . His mother was Elena Glinskaya and died when Ivan was eight years
old. Ivan was exposed to danger constantly at young ages. He was a very delicate and intelligent boy.
His religion was orthodox. He was often neglected and at times hated by individuals of nobility that
took care of him after the passing away of his parents; this cased hatred for the boyar class. He
reportedly tortured small animals as a boy, yet still managed to develop a taste for literature and music
(Ivan the Terrible). When Ivan was thirteen he ordered a noble man to be thrown to starving dogs.
When Ivan was thirteen he lost his virginity. It is to be said after that had several hundreds of lovers (

Window Dressing In The Magnificent Seven And The Seven...
Essays, Not Rants! 203: Window Dressing Taxis are in a rush. That s a known fact (that I thought as I
did my usual ritual of staring down a cab driver today). It s also a vital part of the game Crazy Taxi.
The arcade style driving game has you speeding around a time, picking up customers and dropping
them off as quick as you can. It s fun, and an excellent time and/or quarter sink. But how vital is the
taxi part of Crazy Taxi? Sure, speeding around an ersatz San Francisco and dodging trucks is great,
but does it need that taxi ness that surrounding narrative to work? Strip away all the window dressing
and the game s mechanics are quite simple: the player drives around an area getting objectives which,
when completed well, nets the player more points and time. Could be in space, could be blocks
moving around, you could throw Mario on it and call it a day. Instead, you play as a crazy taxi driver
dodging traffic. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Matrix. Both adhere to Joseph Campbell s Hero s Journey with a religious ferocity: a nobody turns out

King Tut s Curses
Not all believed in the curse of King Tut and what it did. Other did however find many reasons to
believe in it. It is hard to decide which side of the story to believe, because both sides do have the
evidence to make a case on each side. The Curse of the Pharaohs actually started in the 19th century,
but it really came into focus around the 20th century with the expedition of King Tut s tomb, but there
is still conflict about whether it s real or just fiction.
It was when Lord Carnarvon funded for the search of King Tut s tomb with Howard Carter and then
people started dying that the curse really came out into the open. After Carter opened the tomb six of

Ancient Egyptians did have curses, although they are usually in the form of threats and occur mainly
of citizens rather than royalty. A observation may indicate that royalty had protection against their
enemies through other sources (Silverman). Most of the curses came from inscriptions on walls in the
private tombs of the Old KIngdom, during the time when royal tombs were decorated with a set of
spells called Pyramid Texts that were meant as directions for the king (Silverman). It s rare for curses
to relate to tombs, because such an idea was unthinkable and even dangerous ( The Curse of the
Pharaohs ). Curses that have been seen in the headlines are rarely ever true. Egyptians did in fact
understand the power of negative thinking and their curses are far from a mystery (Silverman). Their
suggestive remarks were those who might act against them and it was accomplished in written word,
so in aspects of Egyptian culture the curse would survived as long as the monument on which it was
written on (Silverman). There have been other royal tombs that were said to have the same curse as
King Tut s and were opened with no resulting evil

key features I found extremely helpful is their organization. Every floor of Ronald Reagan UCLA

equipment and supplies. Every floor has its own satellite pharmacy, dialysis storage, respiratory

Social Media And Its Impact On Business
When many people think of and use social media they only think of it from a personal view. However,
more and more companies have discovered that this electronic network can be used for business
purposes as well. Social media can provide a platform for companies to share knowledge and
opinions, and announce information to their audience of followers. It can also generate valuable data
about how a company s customers think, shop, vote, and spend their leisure time. Many companies
have incorporated social media in their business to better communicate with customers, better

York; Oxford: Oxford University Press; 2016.
Abina Mansah: An Overlooked History Abina Mansah, like many other women in her time, was a
young Akan woman who was wrongfully enslaved by her captors. Although slavery was made illegal
in 1875, many important men continued to seize youthful slaves female ones in particular, because
they were less likely to run away and seek liberation. Despite this, Abina refused to be a slave under
the authority of her master, Quamina Eddoo. With the help of court interpreter James Davis, she
attempted to force the court system to hear her voice. Young enslaved women like Abina are often
talked about in history, but never the ones to write historical documents themselves. Their voices are
hidden beneath the voices of important men, and this left women like Abina frustrated and angry. As a
student of the history of gender, Abina s story and her initiative to challenge the authority others had
over her shows us the importance of being heard, and how young women s expressions are often
disregarded and deemed less significant than those of important men.

Better Business Bureau System Analysis
The systems that have been put in place by the Better Business Bureau to protect businesses and
consumers are continually being updated as it should with any organization. The Better Business
Bureau has implemented change as it relates to the point system of accreditation (Ferrell, Fraedrich

uniform fashion. It is important for organizations to remain unbiased if their mission is service the
public. Being fair and unbiased will always hold creditability versus not being fair and biased.
Another change the Better Business Bureau has implemented is the way consumer complaints are
tracked. The Better Business Bureau was established to aid the consumer is making the best purchase,

Greed In Washington Irving s The Devil And Tom Walker
The Devil and Tom Walker is short story written by Washington Irving. Irving was able to combine
reason with things of the supernatural world in his work. In the Devil and Tom Walker, Irving was
able to achieve this allegorical goal. Tom Walker is the miserly protagonist of this short story who
lives with his equally as stingy wife. Their relationship is not close at all since either of them only care
about money. He is found one day walking through the woods and encounters a being that is known as
Old Scratch . Old Scratch is a character who portrays the devil and makes a deal with Tom that

Irving sheds light on Tom s hypocrisy in the deal that was made with Old Scratch. When Tom and Old
Scratch were negotiating the deal, Old Scratch said that Tom would become a slave trader. Tom
refused this offer, but after his wife died, he accepted the offer as a moneylender. Irving represents
Tom s hypocrisy in his choice of accepting the offer. Since Walker did not want to become a slave
trader, he became a moneylender who profits by exhausting others out of their money through shady
business deals. Another indicator of his hypocrisy is the deals he demanded to keep with his
customers. Of course the deals he made with those customers, gained him money. Those people were
drained of all their hard earned pay. In the midst of taking peoples money from them, he thinks it is
acceptable to deceive the devil on the conditions of their deal which reflects on his hypocrisy. Another
indication of his hypocrisy is when he repudiates that he had made even a penny from an unlucky land
speculator for whom he had professed the greatest friendship. His hypocrisy goes hand and hand with
his greed yielding him the same

Influences Of Moby Dick
The crucial effects that influenced Herman Melville to write his famous novel, The Moby Dick. From
here on, Herman Melville had many life experiences that gave him ideas to write a novel about this
tragic experience he had heard before. This tragic experience was the main influence in his life to
compose his famous novel, The Moby Dick . Speaking about this, Herman was impressed by the fact
he heard about this tragic incident that occurred on November 20, 1820. In fact, the ship or American
whaler where everything happened was named The Essex. The Essex was Herman s main influence to
write the novel due to the fact this novel is based on the real life experiences Herman went through.
Anyhow, Herman was not part of this incident even though he was stuttered and was shocked by this.
Eventually, the crew and the captain, George Pollard Jr, were able to survive and later on return to

Melville s thought the influences he wrote this novel from where not enough to reach the goal he had

second influence to write the novel. Regarding this, Herman Melville dedicated The Moby Dick to
Nathaniel Hawthorne but he was happy with the fact of his literary results. Notably, Herman had a

Essay on The Iniquities of the Father
The Iniquities of the Father:
A Look at the Faulknerian Family.
Faulkner has been hailed as one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century, especially for his
depictions of life in the Deep South. Many of his stories take place in fictional Yoknapatawpha
County, Mississippi. In the Sound and the Fury and As I Lay Dying, he focuses on two very different
families in this county, and explores how the iniquity of the fathers is revisited upon the children
(Holy Bible: KJV Deut. 5.9). In both novels, through the use of stream of consciousness and various
other modernist writing techniques, Faulkner looks at two deeply troubled families with weak parents
and confused children and explores how these children cope or fail to ... Show more content on

His grand father, J.W.T. Falkner, inherited a railroad company, but instead of passing it on to his son
whose first and lasting love was the railroad, he sold it for $75,000 (Minter 6 7). Young Faulkner and
his family moved to Oxford, Mississippi, where his father, Murry, a cold man whose capacity for
affection was limited, grew more and more bitter, drank whisky, and remained distant and cautious
(Minter 9). The relationship between Faulkner s father and his mother, who had probably married
Murry Falkner thinking that he would eventually run the railroad company, became more and more
strained. As the tension between them increased, Faulkner s father came more and more to regard him
as his mother s son (Minter 9).
As a child, Faulkner preferred to be the silent observer who moved back and forth between
participation and withdrawal (Minter 12). He dropped out of eleventh grade twice, before getting a
short job at his grandfather s bank, where he learned the medicinal value of his [Grandfather s] liquor
(Meriwether 7). He eventually moved to New Haven, developed a British identity, changed his last
name from Falkner to Faulkner, and joined up to become an R.F.C. pilot during World War I. He was
still in training when the war ended. He described this part of his life during an interview with
Marshall J. Smith in 1931, War came. Liked

Menace II Society Essay
Menace II Society, a film about a young Black man who has lived the hustler lifestyle and is
struggling to leave it, is a perfect example of deviance as the main character, Caine Lawson, and the
characters around him violate many of society s norms. Throughout the film, the characters swear
incessantly, carry around guns and drugs as most people would carry around cell phones, commit
street crimes, especially burglary and mugging, on a regular basis, and beat and kill people
unscrupulously. The following quote captures just how deviant Caine and the other characters in this
film were, [Caine] went into the store just to get a beer. Came out an accessory to murder and armed
robbery. It s funny like that in the hood sometimes. You never ... Show more content on

However, he sees his only option of obtaining signs of wealth, like a nice car, are via street crime.
Thus, Caine s deviance can be attributed to Strain Theory as well. Caine takes the deviant path of an
innovator in order to achieve cultural goals. For instance, he makes and sells drugs for money and he
mugs a man in order to get nice rims for his new car. Caine rarely shows any intention of using
institutionalized means of achieving cultural goals he claims he was never fit for some boring job.
However, it must also be considered that Caine was born into a family that belonged to an urban slum
and whose way of life had crime woven into it. Caine grew up watching his father and his father s
friends deal drugs while rarely working normal jobs. He claimed that he even learned how to make
drugs from his father. As a result, it becomes evident that Caine had all the opportunity in the world to
be turned on to the life of a hustler since it was the same life his father led and that his friends would
later live as well. In this way, Caine s life is an ideal example of illegitimate opportunity theory since
crime was fused into his way of life.
Growing up a young black man in an urban slum certainly did not deter Caine from deviating either.
He grew up with the stigma of a young Black man. This master status led Caine to believe that other
people, specifically non Blacks, always thought that young black men were always in trouble. For
example, when Caine

Flat Tax Vs Tier Tax Essay
Flat tax rate vs. tiered
A flat income tax rate would make a big difference in the issues that society faces every day. When
you receive your paycheck, you see how much is taken out, every payday. All of the money that is
being taken out, is money that can t be used for living. It can t be used to help pay medical bills, nor
can it help pay for food.
With a tiered income tax rate, you are paying more money in taxes, for every little bit more that you
make. Just when you think you re starting to earn a little bit more money, you realize you re barely
making more than you were before.
With that in mind, everyone would be getting the same treatment, if we had a flat income tax rate.
Thus eliminating the form of conflict that is known as unfairness , or the belief that nobody is getting
treated fairly. This conflict is one of the most viscous, as it will turn even brothers against one another.
However, a flat income tax rate would also give those that already make more than most, even more
money. Even so, I believe that a flat income tax rate would resolve a lot of conflict. As well as
banishing the belief that those who earn more are treated differently, compared to those who earn less
than average.

Essay about Organized Crime Around the World
When people think of organized crime they think of the Italian mob and the Russian mafia. They are
the ones that they see in movies and on television, and the ones that they hear about the most.
However, they were created a couple centuries after their Asian counterparts, the Yakuza in Japan, and
the Triads in China. These Asian syndicates were founded in the sixteenth and seventeenth century
and consisted of merchants and other people in what was basically the middle class. They were just
groups of poorer people who were just looking for protection or were trying to help other people. The
first organized crime syndicates were a kind of Robin Hood, they helped the poor. They weren t big or

Organized crime is now in every major city in the US. The heaviest presence is in New York City, Los

Italian Mafia in the U.S. can trace its origins all the way back to the Sicilian Mafia which was founded
in Sicily during the 1800 s (Italian Organized Crime). After thousands of years of different armies
with different nationalities conquering Italy and exploiting its people, the Sicilians became to be more
clannish and family focused. Originally they were just resistance fighters that were protecting their
friends and family. They were relied on for protection, justice, and survival. Nobody cared if they got
money from it because it came from the oppressive authorities. Members of these groups were known
as Men of Honor and they were well respected and even admired because they looked out for their
family and kept silent sometimes even unto death. They didn t become an organized crime group until
the 1920 s however (Italian Organized Crime). It was around this same time that the US began to see
what later became La Cosa Nostra or our thing, better known as the American Mafia which was aided

Comprehensive Immigration Reform And The United States
Comprehensive immigration reform has been a pressing issue in the United States (U.S.) for decades.
Immigration reform was one of the major platforms the President used to campaign and draw an
unprecedented amount of Latino support. Six years after those promises were made, Congress and the
President continue to disagree about the methodology and necessary framework for such reform. Each
has proposed different approaches to solving immigration. Conservatives have pushed for stricter
enforcement of current immigration laws as well increased deportations without exceptions. The
President and his fellow Democrats have aimed for an immigration theory that can appeal to
humanitarian and economic perspectives.

To fully understand why immigration reform is such a highly contested measure, it bears analyzing
current laws and previous reform attempts. Part of the reason why immigration reform has been so
difficult to achieve is due to the vast number of current laws and regulations. Currently the U.S. has
many different classifications for incoming immigrants and varying quotas. Incoming documented
immigrants are classified in four ways: family based immigration, economic immigration, refugees
and asylum seekers, and diversity immigrants. There is an annual limit of 675,000 permanent
immigrants worldwide, with Congress and the President setting limits for refugee seekers
(Immigration Policy Center). Family sponsored visas are limited to 226,000 visas per year. Family
immigration allows citizens and permanent residents to sponsor family members, spouses, unmarried
minor children and parents, for visas, under qualifying conditions. There is also preference given to
the adult children and siblings of citizens and the spouses and unmarried children of permanent
residents (Immigration Policy Center). In the search for workers, the U.S. allows workers to
immigrate for a temporary or permanent basis. Workers are divided into categories and the majority
are for highly skilled workers, who are sponsored by an employer.

Transportation In The 1800 s
Throughout the 1800 s, methods of transportation were limited; people either used horses or rode on
the train. Most people lived in town near their work. With the introduction of the automobile, society
evolved and soon transformed to fit the need of people s transportation. Many of those needs caused
by automobile invention included society, economy and finally, politics. The changes resulting from
the invention of the automobile caused social differences among people. Because of the new ability to

Outlaw Heroes Vs Official Heroes
The outlaw and official heroes are two very different types of heroes that have be represented in
American film. The outlaw hero is generally depicted as someone who works by themselves to reach
the goal of defeating an evil. The outlaw hero will do this by his own methods while not necessarily
following any written laws or codes. Because of this some people may interpret what he is doing to be
immoral or wrong. The official hero on the other hand usually functions within a group bound by
written laws. This leads the common folk to perceive him as much more heroic than the outlaw hero.
These modern heroes are important because they represent two major types of American hero stories

While Ray s description of the heroes does show the distinct differences between the two, it fails to
recognize the similarity that allows these heroes to change to the other type. For instance, Aragorn
from Lord of the Rings began as an outlaw hero who was wandering through the wilderness by
himself doing what he saw right. When Aragorn met Frodo, he joined others in the fight to vanquish
Sauron thus becoming more of an official hero. As the story progresses and finally in Return of the
King it is most apparent that his character has developed into a much more civilized hero who
operates within a group. For example, Aragorn s speech to the army as they prepare to ride into battle
shows just how much he has changed from his wandering state as a loner. He had become a leader of a
community driven by a set of morals to defeat an evil power. This is one example of how an outlaw

The Food Industry And Its Impact On The Society
Half a century ago, farm animals were raised on open fields, breathing fresh air, and grazing on
pastures. Today, over 99% of farm animals in the U.S. are raised in industrialized factory farms, which
focus on profit and efficiency as opposed to the animal s welfare. The industry has forgotten the
importance of the animals health and wellbeing and has become obsessed with profit to the point that
it is negatively impacting the animals in the industry. The food industry needs to be reformed to return
the focus of the farms to the animals in order to protect them from cruel and inhumane treatment or
practices. The wide open fields that farm animals used to be raised on are a thing of the past. In order
for the factory farms to make more profit, they confine the animals to limited space because the less
room they take up, the higher their profit to land ratio is. Of all the animals, chickens by far suffer the
most when it comes to space and confinement, the chickens live crammed together...because they live
in their own waste, high ammonia levels irritate and burn their eyes, throats and skin (ASPCA). The
factory farms are not concerned with the comfort or health of the chickens because it does not affect
their profit. A sore throat or sores on the surface of their skin will not change their value. Chickens are
not alone in this. At just two to three weeks old, piglets are removed from their mothers and placed in
large, windowless sheds without fresh air, sunlight or

  • 3. Discussion Of Hate Speech The discussion of hate speech has been going on since the late nineties with the rise of internet usage. People, on both sides of the political spectrum, often debate about the topic at hand. On one side, people are worried that freedom of speech will be abused and used as a tool of oppression; however, the government disagreed. The Supreme Court did three cases that highlighted hate speech: National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie, R.A.V v. City of St. Paul, and Snyder v. Phelps. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The modern day controversies that have challenged the integrity of God s Word have necessitated the question of whether fundamentalism was ever sanctioned and orchestrated by God. The Holy Bible and historical reflection, and even, present day scientific data reveal that the origin of fundamentalism and its ongoing transformation is in fact God s healthy apparatus to preserve the integrity of the factual claims of Scripture. Thus, the rise of fundamentalism is God s manifestation to combat such spiritual apparitions as higher criticism and the contamination of the world s social gospel. The Rise of Fundamentalism Church history reveals that a number of serious biblical doctrinal controversies occurred during the late 1800s and early 1900s that gave occasion for the formulation of certain fundamentalist principals to be implemented as a clarification and remedy against unbiblical manifestations. The authority of the Bible was brought into serious question. During the years of 1910 1915 a Protestant layman, Lyman Stewart brought the word fundamentalism into focus in his effort to champion the integrity of Scripture. Mr. Stewart produced a series of pamphlets that were called The Fundamentals. 3 Lyman Stewart advocated for a literal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After the death of Mary, Dean was raised on two principles: hunting and taking care of Sam. He feels it is his job and duty to do everything in his power to protect Sam. Introduction: Nuclear bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, not answering the call for help in Rwanda, allowing Germany to take over Czechoslovakia, supporting the creation of the state of Israel, giving out loans (with interest) to developing countries, and the creation of the United Nations are all forms of international interference and cooperation amongst states. When looking at these examples and many more, it begs the question, does morality play a role in international affairs of a state? George Kennan, a prominent Skeptic, would argue that in international politics other criteria, sadder, more limited, more practical, must be allowed to prevail. In this essay, I will first present the Skeptic argument that morality either ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These societies would then form into hierarchical civilizations leading to the modern state where laws and rules can not only be made but enforced to make peace and order is kept within the state. (Forde, 15) In the international arena, there is no hierarchical rule to keep states in line or behaved; meaning that the international system is constantly in anarchy, aka the state of nature. This lack of rule enforcement puts states in a constant state of war, in a constant state where they need to stay on guard and in a tactical advantage otherwise the safety and well being of their state will be in jeopardy. In this scenario, the state s number one priority is to protect itself and act in its self interest when need be, despite if it would typically be deemed immoral. (Donnelly 20) Machiavelli would go so far that it is within every right for more powerful states to conquer and subjugate weaker states because if another was to conquer that weaker state, they may have the advantage over you and destroy your state. Preemptive strikes, imperialism, and unprovoked wars are fully justified to Machiavelli because you either conquer or wait till your enemy attacks you. To some skeptics, acting in self interest is the only form of morality in the state of nature. (Forde, 9) Thucydides creates a moral argument that there is no justice between states of unequal power, and it is actually immoral for weaker states to resist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That s a known fact (that I thought as I did my usual ritual of staring down a cab driver today). It s also a vital part of the game Crazy Taxi. The arcade style driving game has you speeding around a time, picking up customers and dropping them off as quick as you can. It s fun, and an excellent time and/or quarter sink. But how vital is the taxi part of Crazy Taxi? Sure, speeding around an ersatz San Francisco and dodging trucks is great, but does it need that taxi ness that surrounding narrative to work? Strip away all the window dressing and the game s mechanics are quite simple: the player drives around an area getting objectives which, when completed well, nets the player more points and time. Ancient Egyptians did have curses, although they are usually in the form of threats and occur mainly of citizens rather than royalty. A observation may indicate that royalty had protection against their enemies through other sources (Silverman). Most of the curses came from inscriptions on walls in the private tombs of the Old KIngdom, during the time when royal tombs were decorated with a set of spells called Pyramid Texts that were meant as directions for the king (Silverman). It s rare for curses to relate to tombs, because such an idea was unthinkable and even dangerous ( The Curse of the Pharaohs ). Curses that have been seen in the headlines are rarely ever true. Egyptians did in fact understand the power of negative thinking and their curses are far from a mystery (Silverman). Their suggestive remarks were those who might act against them and it was accomplished in written word, so in aspects of Egyptian culture the curse would survived as long as the monument on which it was written on (Silverman). Caine rarely shows any intention of using institutionalized means of achieving cultural goals he claims he was never fit for some boring job. Just when you think you re starting to earn a little bit more money, you realize you re barely making more than you were before. With that in mind, everyone would be getting the same treatment, if we had a flat income tax rate. Thus eliminating the form of conflict that is known as unfairness , or the belief that nobody is getting treated fairly. This conflict is one of the most viscous, as it will turn even brothers against one another. However, a flat income tax rate would also give those that already make more than most, even more money. Even so, I believe that a flat income tax rate would resolve a lot of conflict. As well as banishing the belief that those who earn more are treated differently, compared to those who earn less than average. In a perfect world, the richer people among us would use their ... They didn t become an organized crime group until the 1920 s however (Italian Organized Crime). Incoming documented immigrants are classified in four ways: family based immigration, economic immigration, refugees and asylum seekers, and diversity immigrants. The outlaw hero is generally depicted as someone who works by themselves to reach the goal of defeating an evil. The outlaw hero will do this by his own methods while not necessarily following any written laws or codes. Because of this some people may interpret what he is doing to be immoral or wrong. The official hero on the other hand usually functions within a group bound by written laws. This leads the common folk to perceive him as much more heroic than the outlaw hero. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Ray s description of the heroes does show the distinct differences between the two, it fails to recognize the similarity that allows these heroes to change to the other type. For instance, Aragorn from Lord of the Rings began as an outlaw hero who was wandering through the wilderness by himself doing what he saw right. When Aragorn met Frodo, he joined others in the fight to vanquish Sauron thus becoming more of an official hero. As the story progresses and finally in Return of the King it is most apparent that his character has developed into a much more civilized hero who operates within a group. For example, Aragorn s speech to the army as they prepare to ride into battle shows just how much he has changed from his wandering state as a loner. He had become a leader of a community driven by a set of morals to defeat an evil power. This is one example of how an outlaw hero can change into an official ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today, over 99% of farm animals in the U.S. are raised in industrialized factory farms, which focus on profit and efficiency as opposed to the animal s welfare. The industry has forgotten the importance of the animals health and wellbeing and has become obsessed with profit to the point that it is negatively impacting the animals in the industry. The food industry needs to be reformed to return the focus of the farms to the animals in order to protect them from cruel and inhumane treatment or practices. The wide open fields that farm animals used to be raised on are a thing of the past. In order for the factory farms to make more profit, they confine the animals to limited space because the less room they take up, the higher their profit to land ratio is. Of all the animals, chickens by far suffer the most when it comes to space and confinement, the chickens live crammed together...because they live in their own waste, high ammonia levels irritate and burn their eyes, throats and skin (ASPCA). The factory farms are not concerned with the comfort or health of the chickens because it does not affect their profit.
