Violence And Sexual Assault And Violence Against Women
Intro
Throughout history especially within recent years there has been a major rise of sexual assault
and violence against women. This is prevalent within college campuses, within work, the
military, within family households and nearly all parts of society there is no getting away from
it. It is truly a shame and a wretched part of society. However, this needs to be brought to light.
This can no longer be avoided and society needs to come together as a whole, in order to stop this.
Throughout this essay we are going to go over the statistical background of violence and sexual
assault towards women, sexual assault on college campuses, the emotional abuse of those
affected, and why Victims don t come forward. Then a step by step breakdown of how we can rid
society from these unacceptable acts of violence and sexual assault towards woman. Before
exploring the deeper aspects of violence and sexual assault towards woman, it s important to have a
historical foundation and statistics.
Background statistics
Within the United states the National Sexual violation and resource center has conducted in depth
statistics pertaining to sexual violence. These Statistics indicate that one in five woman will be
raped within their life time(NSVRC). If this isn t evident enough that that our society is having a
major problem, then compare it to one in 71 men are raped at some point in their life(NSVRC).
Although many of us believe that within our own sanctuaries at home and at work that they

History of Christianity and the Christian Church
1)Paul s main message was that through Jesus, God would give pardon to those who trusted and
believed him. He also believed that people can begin the process of salvation present in their
own life. He spoke of agape. This is unconditional love. He believed all of Christian concern
circled around this. Jesus s teachings are more about the life her and now. So when he talked
about the Kingdom of Heaven, he was thinking of a kingdom here on earth, while Paul thought
more about a metaphorical kingdom of people who believe. Another big difference is that Paul
believed people are justification by faith; while Jesus focused on doing things repenting, being
baptized in order to be justified. Jesus spoke to Jesus; Paul spoke to Gentiles, so the law Moses
wasn t as important.
2)In the year 800, Pope Leo named Charlemagne the Holy Roman Empire. This upset the Byzantine
emperor because the Byzantines had stood up to barbarians and upheld the faith for years and they
didn t want a western Emperor over them. Things continued to get worse and in 1054, church split
into two: Rome Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Catholics. Things that contributed to the schism
were the fact that the Roman Catholics tended to be in the west and the Orthodox in the east, and as
time went on language differences got in the way. Also, the west put more emphasis on Jesus s
humanity while the east focused on his divinity. Today, the churches accept each other but they
cannot take communion in each other s

Research Paper On Hopf Bifurcation
Abstract. In this paper, a classical model describing a food web in a chemostat involving three
species competing for non reproducing, growth rate limiting nutrient in which one of the
competitors predates on one of the other competitors is considered. Quantitative analyses of non
negativity and boundedness of solution trajectories, dissipativity, and behavior around equilibria,
global stability and persistence of the model equations are analyzed. We present the global stability
of equilibria by constructing a Lyapunov function. Hopf bifurcation theory is applied. Keywords:
Chemostat; Food web; Global stability; Hopf bifurcation; Dissipative. 1. Introduction In

Since one can measure the control parameter easily, the device has various applications in ecology

laboratory bio reactor in chemical engineering used for investigations in genetically altered cell. As

Pros And Cons Of Human Cloning
The birth of the first cloned mammal, lamb Dolly, shocked the world on 23 February 1997.Soon
after the announcement, the media attention was diverted by the possibility of cloning a human.
Although the scientists from the Roslin Institute who had made the significant breakthrough with
Dolly denied the possibility of creating human clones, the idea was still wide debated about the
risks and benefits of human cloning. So, what is cloning? Cloning is a process of generating a new
organism by an identical genetic copy of the original donor. The DNA of the two organisms will be
identical (LaurenИ›iu, 2012).With the development stage of science, human has been already
manufacturing embryonic stem cells, which is beneficial to medical science such as inventing a
new therapy for serious diseases. In the future, the human would take advantages of the
development of reproductive cloning technology to reproduce the next generation. However,
whether human cloning project should be prohibited or not arouses intense debate among the
public because it is unethical and the clone technology is not perfect yet. In my opinion, human
cloning would benefit the humanity, thus, the research of cloning should be carried out with strict
legal protection, and limited to the category of medical research currently.
Improving the technology of human cloning could bring numerous benefits to human beings. The
most exciting achievement is the success of isolating human embryonic stem cells which inspired

The Pros And Cons Of Jediism
At first glance, Jediism might appear to be a product of Star Wars fanaticism, merely rooted in
the dreams of overzealous LARP ers. However, in spite of its pop culture origins, Jediism is a
philosophy and way of life for thousands if not hundreds of thousands across the globe. In fact,
many true Jedi (here referring to those who follow the philosophical path of Jediism) have cited that
they have no interest in Star Wars, but simply find the philosophical concepts of Jediism to meet
their spiritual needs, where similar philosophies such as Buddhism fail. Many followers of
Jediism refrain from calling the Path a religion, but instead refer to it as a philosophy, or even a
way of life they believe in the Force but they do not worship the Force. Interestingly enough,
proponents of Jediism even argue that one may practice the Path alongside another religion, such as
Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, or even Islam, and the majority of practitioners are likely
practicing their own sort of hybrid spirituality.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

only to the U.K Canada s 2001 census found that 20,000 Canadians said they were followers of

widely circulated email. Australia s census yielded results where close to 71,000 people
declared themselves Jedi, and almost 53,000 in New Zealand identified themselves as Jedi in
2001 also. In recent years, it would appear that the number of so called Jedi has decreased. A
census in England and Wales in 2011 found that 176,632 people identified their religion as Jedi,

Starbucks: Delivering Customer Service
In late 2002, Christine Day, Starbucks senior vice president of administration in North America, sat
in the seventh floor conference room of Starbucks Seattle headquarters and reached for her second
cup of toffee nut latte. The handcrafted beverage a buttery, toffee nut flavored espresso concoction
topped with whipped cream and toffee sprinkles had become a regular afternoon indulgence for
Day ever since its introduction earlier that year.
As she waited for her colleagues to join her, Day reflected on the company s recent performance.
While other retailers were still reeling from the post 9/11 recession, Starbucks was enjoying its ...

But I believed that people needed another place, a place where they could go to relax and enjoy
others, or just be by themselves. I envisioned a place that would be separate from home or work, a
place that would mean different things to different people.
A few years later, Schultz got his chance when Starbucks founders agreed to sell him the company.
As soon as Schultz took over, he immediately began opening new stores. The stores sold whole
beans and premium priced coffee beverages by the cup and catered primarily to affluent,
welleducated, white collar patrons (skewed female) between the ages of 25 and 44. By 1992, the
company had 140 such stores in the Northwest and Chicago and was successfully competing
against other small scale coffee chains such as Gloria Jean s Coffee Bean and Barnie s Coffee Tea.
That same year, Schultz decided to take the company public. As he recalled, many Wall Street
types were dubious about the idea: They d say, You mean, you re going to sell coffee for a dollar
in a paper cup, with Italian names that no one in America can say? At a time in America when no
one s drinking coffee? And I can get coffee at the local coffee shop or doughnut shop for 50 cents?

Examples Of Identity Crisis In The Invisible Man
Introduction
As the word suggests, Identity Crisis is a situation of confusion in which a person s sense of
identity becomes insecure due to change in his or her expected dreams or role in the society.
The lack of self judgement and self actualisation often leads to one s identity crisis because of his
or her failures or incapability to handle success or breaking social norms results into being
unacceptable in the society. Our roles in the society and how well we are able to achieve them or
adapt to them makes us acceptable in the society as well as recognizable in the society and
disrupting such social norms leads to isolation from the society or the people living in that society,
thus negatively affecting one s psychological or mental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just as Griffin becomes over confident and adamant on successfully completing his scientific
experiments, people in contemporary society become over confident and feel extreme proud over
their capabilities and similarly as Griffin, are incapable of managing such qualities and success at
the very same time.
This mishandling of one s qualities and directing them towards negativity in search of power or
extreme stage of power, people often lose what they actually have in today s world as well as
depicted by Wells in his play. Griffin, not only projects the disturbance at mental or psychological
level because of competition towards success, but also depicts what led towards the path of such
disturbance and what actually happened as a consequence after it.
This case is not only with Griffin but also with people of contemporary society, who negate
societal values to earn wealth and power at extreme levels and are thus, considered socially
rejected or unacceptable because of breaking certain acceptable social norms. This disruption of
such norms causes the isolation of such people, often depleting their identity as an individual in the
society as well as causing identity crisis to an individual. The competition which causes mental
stress towards the path of success, not only forms the basis of negative consequences but defines

On Death And Dying Analysis
George Patton Jr once said that, It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we
should thank God that such men lived. Mr.Patton realized that death is natural and inevitable, so he
gives thanks to God for the life that he, his friends and family have been dealt. At funerals, usually
several individuals are pain stricken and severely upset. These individuals have been conditioned to
fear deathand to believe that death is something to run away from. Elizabeth Kubler Ross speaks
about actually tuning into the patients in order to figure out what their needs are. Mrs. Kubler
Ross, in her novel, On Death Dying uses a five step blueprint in order to describe the dying process
effectively.
When my Pawpaw was in his late 60 s he started his journey to the end of his life. Unlike several
people, he never seemed to cling to false hope in order to comfort himself during his final
transition. During the denial stage, he was sent to multiple heart doctors. Each doctor gave him an
estimate on life and continually told him that he would not have much longer to live. Essentially,

Death is inescapable. Praise God for the life he has blessed his children with. In Elisabeth Kubler
Ross novel On Death Dying she effectively explains the dying process in five steps: denial, anger,
bargaining, depression and acceptance. The impact of her novel, if given the chance, on the
medical field would be tremendous in the attempt of allowing individuals to die with their dignity
while also remaining in peace throughout the majority of the process. In reality a funeral should
not consist of mourning over what is lost. A funeral should be a celebration of the life the
individual was blessed with and the impact they had on the people around them. Truly in the end,
death is a blessing to those that believe and a frightening silence to the many that do

whole ten years of practice down the stage which in other words mean that the public may have

told them that he will forgives those who make any mistakes, however, he will not be forgiving
towards individuals who do not do anything. Jack Ma would have never been able to convince
his team of employees to work towards their common vision stating that someday they will be
competitive and great enough to compete against big corporation like eBay if he does not have
notable leadership skills and the ability to speak well to inspire and motivate his team. Jack Ma s
definition of quality leader does not stress about having technical skills, however, the most
critical part is his vision, capability as well as tenacity. The traits or characteristic in which he
strongly believes that a great leader shall possess are; be visionary and have more prudence than
an employee, to own higher grit and persistence and have the ability and willingness to endure the

Holocaust And The Holocaust
Holocaust, by definition, refers to a systematic and organized persecution targeting a specific group
of individuals in a society. The conceptualization and justification of holocaust takes a political path,
in most cases, and augmented by economic or social ideologies; with the targeted group or
population perceived of not living up to the standards to achieving the ideologies. In other words,
the coordination and implementation of holocaust, be it state sponsored or by external governments
foreign policies, seeks to destroy or realign the essential foundations of life, torture, maim, and
deliberate infliction of direct physical and psychological destruction. This follows violation of
human rightsand freedoms; cases of genocide, displacements, establishment of police states and
discriminatory regimes that further ruin the well being of the people in the long run (Petersohn
1047). Palestine has had significant disintegration of political and social institutions, cultures,
religion, and experienced forced blights that deteriorated personal liberties, dignity and health. In
Palestine s case, the disintegration has over time taken a political perspective and fueled by war,
armed conflict and political violence; aimed at destroying ethnic and racial groups.
To understand the extent of human rights violation in Palestine, it is prudent to understand the
strategies employed, and further delve in to the specific violations. Historically, Israel s occupation

Queer Representation Of All Age Media Essay
Queer Representation in All Age Media Growing up as a Catholic, Puerto Rican gay boy in the
90s and early 2000s, I struggled to discover my queer identity as well as queer representation in
the media I consumed. Being gay was something that was never discussed. If it was brought up, it
was usually in hushed tones (I remember being introduced to my uncle s close friend each holiday)
or as something negative (I still remember the sting of being called a faggot in elementary school).
This reflected exactly how homosexualitywas portrayed in media at the time. Queercharacters and
homosexuality were at best portrayed in codified, blink and you ll miss it labels and
affectations, or at worst, something to laugh at, pity or even hate. As someone who still
regularly reads comics, watches Saturday morning cartoons and play video games, it is so
exciting to discover the lengths of progress that has been made in queer representation in all age
media. In this paper I hope to detail the highs and lows of LGBTQ representation in all age media
and highlight the positive and negative impact of media representation. Before we can look
forward, we must look back at queer representation of the past. The late film scholar Vito Russo
painstakingly researched the evolution of queer representation in cinema in his landmark book The
Celluloid Closet. In both the book and its documentary of the same name, Russo details the earliest
portrayal of homosexuality in

Although these criteria were developed for classification, they are extensively used for diagnosis
of patients. These criteria include the most important manifestations of SLE, namely
mucocutaneous, articular, serosal, nephrologic, neurologic, hematologic, and immunologic. The
patient must fulfill at least 4 of the 11 ACR criteria (listed in Table 1) to be diagnosed as an SLE
patient. The criteria must be fulfilled at any time in the patient s history and symptoms may occur
simultaneously or in succession [38, 39]. In 2012, the Systemic Lupus International Collaborating

numerous clinical indices have been developed for the assessment of the activity of the disease due
to the absence of single biomarker that adequately reflects the activity of SLE. There are two main

Yes I would order a chest x ray due to the duration of her cough, the fact that it is post infectious,
her age, and to evaluate for pneumonia and masses. Due to the duration of the cough and the fact
that her cough is becoming productive with yellow sputum, I would tell the patient she probably
started out with a viral bronchitis that now could be transitioning into a bacterial bronchitis and

The Role Of Cybersecurity And Its Effects On The World
Cybersecurity Cybersecurity has only been around for a short time. In the short time it s been
around, it s gone from a simple application process in security, to one of the most complicated
things to get right in order to protect the internet. In the late 80 s the very first computer worm
was created by Robert Morris. He released it into the internet in the early 90 s. With it, he shut
down large portions of the internet. (Infosecurity Magazine) Back then, the internet didn t play a
large role in everyone s lives, as it does today. But with that breach, it alerted people that we needed
to come up with something to keep that from happening again, hence cybersecurity was born. Since
then, cybersecurity has only become more complicated, as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

First, the career requirements. The minimum requirements for this job is actually rather easy to
acquire. All it takes is experience in the field, such as coding and a very good knowledge of
computers. It doesn t require a college degree. Since ethical hacking is more about skills than
anything, so a bachelor s or master s degree in cybersecurity is unnecessary if you have appropriate
job experience. (Cyber Degrees) Since it doesn t take a college degree, it only takes about two or
four years of experience in the field to achieve this position. If you do take a college route, it ll be 4
6 years in college plus the 2 4 years of security experience. The education costs will vary, as there
are several ways to learn. Some teach themselves how to code, others use training courses on the
internet. I have also found Metasploit: A Penetration Tester s Guide, a book that is great for
beginners to pick up and learn the basic skills to help get them started in the field. Such as how to
create your own modules, or how to port your own exploits to a server s framework. (David

technicians will create their own labs in which they can configure and reconfigure

What Was Hitler s Rule In Germany
Germany was suffering under the harsh conditions of the treaty of Versailles, the economic
downturn as a result of the Great Depression and the weakness of the Weimar republic all allowed
for Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party to gain control of Germany. The Treaty of Versailles made the
government of Germanylook weak because other countries took land away from Germany. The
Germans were paying money to other countries because of all the damage they had done in World
War 1. They also had to take the blame for starting World War I
and they could only have an army
of 100,000 men. Germany suffered a lot in the Great Depression which spiralled Germany in
despair. Hitler promised the people that he would bring life back to Germany which meant more
money into Germany, more land and he will bring back Germany s pride. However there were
negative aspects to Hitler s rule.
The Nazi party developed a totalitarian rule in Germany; this was enabled through the Nazi
parties control of almost every aspect of life. A totalitarian state is a political system where the
government will try to control aspects of public and private life wherever possible (Hitler s

Alexander The Great s Influence On The World
Alexander the Great Occasionally history shows that the world does not have many people that
could be entered in the history. And Alexander the Great was one of these people. During his
childhood Alexander had great teachers who taught him how to use and how to choose great
politics, diplomacy and, how to win the war if that day would come. For many years Alexander
the Great studied how to control everything and how to be ready to do anything that might be
needed. At the age of sixteen he had to become a king of big kingdom, because his father, Philip,
was in the war with Byzantium. Many people believed in Alexander because they knew that he
was different from other children in his age, he did not care about bodily pleasures or anything
like that, however, he had infinitely ambition which created him a good leader. Alexander
strengthened his position in the power, he tamed people that were trying to make a revolution to
take power in their hands. To get support from wealthy and other people in Alexander s kingdom,
he canceled taxes, and killed other people that might claim for the king s position. Alexander was
a great leader, and had plans to enter the war not only with some kingdoms, but to capture and
control all kingdoms and all lands, to have the great power without a trace. Alexander the Great
ruled his kingdom as a king that had tunneled his skills and had a good deal of experience in the

Oregon Trail Essay
During the 1840s, pioneers were determined to journey westward due to their current economic
conditions, religious motivations, and enticing descriptions of their potential lives in the new
frontier. The land westward seemed a pioneer s paradise and this Oregon fever overtook many
individuals (Uschan 54). This journey is commonly referred to as the Oregon Trail, even though it
went through the states of Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Montana and other states (Dary xiii). The
Oregon trail helped promote manifest destinyand was a vital part of expanding the country (Uschan

Many were helpful by trading supplies to travelers (Jaffe 23), but other times they would steal
horses, murder settlers and take them hostage (Woodworth 67). The differences in culture and
language made it difficult to communicate and interact with each other. In the pioneers best
interests, the train would include a guide or a missionary that could communicate with the Native
Americans. Thus showing the pioneers found a way to bridge the gap and effectively communicate
with the Native Americans.
In addition, the religious beliefs of people motivated them to complete their journey. For example
missionaries including Jason Lee, Marcus and Narcissa Whitman, and Henry and Eliza Spalding
successfully created mission stations along the Oregon trail (Woodworth 58). Once established,
however, missionaries struggled to maintain funding. As a result, Marcus Whitman, journeyed back
east to seek additional support. Whitman faced a difficult and dangerous journey through the cold
winter months, but his beliefs helped him to persevere and survive the trip. When people back
home learned of Whitman s courage and determination, he was able to convince the American
Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions to provide additional funding (Woodworth 71). In
another religious trek, the Mormons journeyed to Utah to escape persecution (Dary 169). They
were led by their religious leader Brigham Young to Utah and successfully settled there. With his
leadership and their faith, they brought their movement to Salt Lake

Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
Since its publication in 1719, Robinson Crusoe has served as a popular adventure novel. The
overall content of the story presents itself as nothing more than adventurous, but after a close
reading it becomes clear that the narrative has an underlying message of colonialism. The novel
tells the story of a European man who gradually gains complete control over an island in the
Caribbean. The author, Daniel Defoe, presents colonialismby portraying the protagonist as someone
who slowly and progressively asserts his dominion over the foreign land. In the novelcolonialism is
clearly reflected through the relationship between the colonized and the colonizer. It is through
Crusoe s interactions with Friday that multiple allegorical facets of colonialism such as economic
power, psychological domination, and spiritual belief become evident to the reader.
The relationship between Crusoe and Friday shows the relationship of master and slave. Crusoe
metaphorically represents the imperial figure or colonizer while Friday becomes the metaphor
for the colonized. Robinson however does not fall immediately into his role as colonizer he first
has to establish control over the island itself and learn how to survive. This is why he is fearful
and hesitant when he was exceedingly surprised with the print of a man s naked foot on the shore,
which was very plain to be seen on the sand. (133) The first sign of a civilization other than his

Pulmonary Surfactant Lab Report
IIntroduction: The simple act of breathing as we know it, is not as simple as it seems. Breathing
takes numerous organs and requires a variety of complex operations to correctly occur. One of the
most unique factors of breathing is pulmonary surfactant. Pulmonary Surfactant is an oily fluid
that is composed of a mixture of lipids and protein molecules that coats the inner alveolar surface
(McKinley, 2016). The internal surface of alveoli is moist, which makes it prone to collapsing
because of its high surface tension, pulmonary surfactant keeps the alveoli and lungs from
collapsing (McKinley, 2016). The importance of surfactant can be seen in the birth and

Analysis Of The Nightmare Before Christmas
Around the world, people know of holidays like St. Patrick s Day, Valentine s day, or Christmas.
However, there is a magical place where not everyone knows of such things, they just know
what is around them. Screenwriter Caroline Thompson allows for others to see a new look at
how the holidays are in their world. For example, Thompson describes how a scary skeleton
embarks on a journey and learns of another holiday that is completely different from his world.
Edward Ivory is the main voiceover of the Thompson s 2014 20/20 winner The Nightmare Before
Christmas(Jon Reeves). Ivory is given the role of Santa, who is the man to save the day after Jack
Skellington, Chris Sarandon, decides to take over Christmas and ruins it all together (Jon Reeves).
Jack is bored of being the ruler of Halloweenland and goes off on a melancholy walk, not
realizing where he is going. He comes upon a group of doors that are for all the Holidays, and
becomes intrigued by all the different lands, this is where the disaster starts. As Jack goes along
in the story, he becomes more and more obsessed with the idea of Christmas, and begins to
destroy all that is set in order. The Nightmare Before Christmas shows why things should stay the
way they are, and why disrupting the order of things will cause chaos. In the beginning of Act I

Single Parent Families Case Study
Introduction:
As many families in today s society suffer to make ends meet, it is important to remember, Parents
with meager means have the same aspirations for their children as other parents. Children from
poor families have the same needs as other children as Mark Sanford (2015) once said. In every
family scenario, the basic life can be affected based on the economic situation each family is in.
Each family, when put in various scenarios deals with certain circumstances differently. The family
scenario that will be applied throughout this essay was based in a single parent household, where
the father had just passed away; there were also two children which the mother had to support
on a low wage job. Within this type of family, it was noticed how it may become difficult for
single parents to conquer all the issues going on in their lives . (Statistics Canada, 2017)
Throughout the many families across Canada, 17% of children live below the poverty line
(Stats.Can 2017). When analyzing the mother s income of $3,146 a month, 37,750 a year, it
becomes obvious how easily it can become to fall into poverty with only one income, at a close to
minimum wage position. Due to the many children in these situations living in a single parent
household (Rothman, 2007), the government chose to reach out to these families and provide extra
support (Statistics Canada, 2017 2). It is important to give these families an opportunity to succeed

Animal Tattoos
Animal tattoos are very popular nowadays since they portray characteristics that most people are
fond of. Although favorite animal tattoos are usually about the untamed jungle cats lion, tiger
elephants are steadily claiming the attention of tattoo enthusiasts.
Elephants are strong animals that are respected by ancient cultures of India and Africa. Their
strength is legendary and combined with their massive size; it is not unusual that ancient
civilizations have likened them to great rulers. During war, they were used as psychological
weapons, instilling fear in enemies even before the battle has begun.
These animals are worshipped in India. For them, elephants represent divinity and kindness of
spirit. Ganesh, an Indian God is even depicted as having the head of an elephant. During Hindu
rituals, elephants pose as prominent parts of the occasion. They are usually bathed and anointed in
special oils as part of the ritual.
Unlike most tattoo designs, the elephant s color is not always subject to the person s choosing.
The animal s natural color is the one majorly used by tattoo artist. An albino elephant also holds

wide expanse of skin. Two of the most common locations for elephant tattoos include the arms and
the back. However, if a good tattoo artist is capable of downsizing the symbol without lessening its
quality, then you may have it inked on your wrist or

Paper On Rockets History
History of Rockets
A rocket is a cylindrical projectile that can be propelled to a great height or distance by the
combustion of its contents. Robert Hutchings Goddard, was the first to create a liquid fueled
rocket in 1926. Robert was about 44 years old when he invented the first liquid fueled rocket.
Roberts rocket reached an altitude of 41 feet at about 60 mph and lasted about 2 seconds. The
rocket landed approximately 184 feet away from the blast off place. The rocket was about 10
feet tall, made out of thin pipes; it was fueled by liquid oxygen and gasoline. Chinese were the
first to create rockets for military in the 13th Century. They made the rockets out of gunpowder;
probably built firework rockets before the rockets for wars. The ... Show more content on

There are many different uses for rockets, we use them in our daily lives. Whether it s just for fun,
in our jobs, or fighting for our lives. We use rockets in the military for wars and such. In the
military we use rockets for, weapons (missiles, bombs, guns, fire explosives) to shoot down other
aircraft or enemies down on ground. Satellites have been used for years for various purposes
including scientific research, weather reporting, communications, navigation and even for
observing Earth. Engineers have played a big role in designing these satellites, getting them into
orbit, and using the information they relay back to Earth. Meteorologists are able to predict the
changes in weather patterns by using several different tools. They use these tools to measure
atmospheric conditions that occurred in the past and present, and they apply this information to
create educated guesses about the future weather. Most people are familiar with thermometers,
barometers, and anemometers for measuring temperature, air pressure, and wind speed,
respectively. Meteorologists use other tools, as well. With communication, we can relate back to
satellites, satellites get sent up into orbit and programed to report back to earth all over the place.

Active Learning Is The Key For Understanding, Not Passive...
Active Learning is the Key to Understanding, Not Passive Learning
According to Paulo Freire, a Brazilian educator and philosopher, the current education lacks teacher
student communication. In his article he reveals that, Instead of communicating, the teacher issues
communiques and makes deposits which the students patiently perceive, memorize, and repeat.
This is the banking concept of education, in which the scope of action allowed to the students
extends only as far as receiving, filing, and storing the deposits.
Basically, Freire s argument is that education should involve student teacher knowledge exchange,
rather than the teacher being the one teaching all the time. As someone who is an educator, Freire
understands that knowledge is a result of active learning rather than passive learning. He likens the
current education to a banking system whereby the teacher just deposits information into the
students empty heads. Freire complains that this type of education does not give students the
understanding they need to connect the material with reality. In fact, he stresses out that students
just memorize what is said by the teacher without understanding the concepts. Due to that, he
further describes how the concepts taught in class seem to be disconnected from reality since the
students cannot relate how education affects their day to day lives.
Although I agree with Freire that education should not be like a banking system, I cannot accept his
overriding assumption

Essay On The Request Deal
Today, the request deal is a fundamental piece of the criminal equity framework. The considerable
dominant part of charges, more than 90 percent in numerous purviews, are settled through some
sort of supplication deal, called a plea bargain. The Seventh Amendment of the Bill of Rights
systematized it as a basic piece of Americans freedoms. At the point when large amounts of
criminals were gotten and charged, the legislature experienced a trial and decision. However, in the
1800s, a pattern toward supplication started. A request deal is an arranged understanding for a
criminal respondent whereby he or she consents to confess in return for a greater result. This result
might be the dropping of extra charges.
A jury trial was often ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plea bargains can also be called plea agreements where the prosecution come together to make
agreements to say if you plead guilty we ll do this and vice versa. Bradley gave away his right to
appeal, attack or motion against any punishment or fine given unto him by the courts. Now in
courts there is more pressure that influences the plea bargaining deals. Prosecutors do not have the
time to go through a broad trial for each case, regardless of whether it a winnable case for the
prosecutor.
Current Law
Numerous criminal cases are settled through a request deal, typically a long time before trial. In a
plea deal, the defendant consents to confess to at least one charges, regularly to a lesser accusation
than one for which the litigant could stand trial in return for a more tolerant sentence with the goal
that specific related charges are rejected. The right to create a plea bargain is not given to the state
which means one state does not have the right to prohibit it either. One exceptions to states
power is Alaska, The Attorney general banned plea bargaining. Him banning was not that big of
a deal back then because not that many people were making plea deals there, and it s still not a
problem now because Alaska prosecutors still don t have backloads and overloads of cases to
settle. Outside of what some critics may say about this controversial idea, most

  • 3. History of Christianity and the Christian Church 1)Paul s main message was that through Jesus, God would give pardon to those who trusted and believed him. He also believed that people can begin the process of salvation present in their own life. He spoke of agape. This is unconditional love. He believed all of Christian concern circled around this. Jesus s teachings are more about the life her and now. So when he talked about the Kingdom of Heaven, he was thinking of a kingdom here on earth, while Paul thought more about a metaphorical kingdom of people who believe. Another big difference is that Paul believed people are justification by faith; while Jesus focused on doing things repenting, being baptized in order to be justified. Jesus spoke to Jesus; Paul spoke to Gentiles, so the law Moses wasn t as important. 2)In the year 800, Pope Leo named Charlemagne the Holy Roman Empire. This upset the Byzantine emperor because the Byzantines had stood up to barbarians and upheld the faith for years and they didn t want a western Emperor over them. Things continued to get worse and in 1054, church split into two: Rome Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Catholics. Things that contributed to the schism were the fact that the Roman Catholics tended to be in the west and the Orthodox in the east, and as time went on language differences got in the way. Also, the west put more emphasis on Jesus s humanity while the east focused on his divinity. Today, the churches accept each other but they cannot take communion in each other s ... • 4. Research Paper On Hopf Bifurcation Abstract. In this paper, a classical model describing a food web in a chemostat involving three species competing for non reproducing, growth rate limiting nutrient in which one of the competitors predates on one of the other competitors is considered. Quantitative analyses of non negativity and boundedness of solution trajectories, dissipativity, and behavior around equilibria, global stability and persistence of the model equations are analyzed. We present the global stability of equilibria by constructing a Lyapunov function. Hopf bifurcation theory is applied. Keywords: Chemostat; Food web; Global stability; Hopf bifurcation; Dissipative. 1. Introduction In microbiology and population biology, the laboratory device chemostat extensively uses as a research technique to culture microorganisms continuously under nutrient limitation in a controlled environment in order to study the general... It can be viewed as a simple lake system in ecology while it serves as a laboratory bio reactor in chemical engineering used for investigations in genetically altered cell. As for example, the prey (bacteria) consumes nutrient (waste) while the predator (ciliates) feeds on the prey in waste water treatment process. It is of mathematical interest to construct models with chemostat. The dynamics of chemostat model with nutrient uptake is of Monod kinetics play an important role in population ecology. After the first introduction of chemostat the researchers have paid their attention to develop mathematical theories of models in it. • 6. Pros And Cons Of Human Cloning The birth of the first cloned mammal, lamb Dolly, shocked the world on 23 February 1997.Soon after the announcement, the media attention was diverted by the possibility of cloning a human. Although the scientists from the Roslin Institute who had made the significant breakthrough with Dolly denied the possibility of creating human clones, the idea was still wide debated about the risks and benefits of human cloning. So, what is cloning? Cloning is a process of generating a new organism by an identical genetic copy of the original donor. The DNA of the two organisms will be identical (LaurenИ›iu, 2012).With the development stage of science, human has been already manufacturing embryonic stem cells, which is beneficial to medical science such as inventing a new therapy for serious diseases. In the future, the human would take advantages of the development of reproductive cloning technology to reproduce the next generation. However, whether human cloning project should be prohibited or not arouses intense debate among the public because it is unethical and the clone technology is not perfect yet. In my opinion, human cloning would benefit the humanity, thus, the research of cloning should be carried out with strict legal protection, and limited to the category of medical research currently. Improving the technology of human cloning could bring numerous benefits to human beings. The most exciting achievement is the success of isolating human embryonic stem cells which inspired ... However, in spite of its pop culture origins, Jediism is a philosophy and way of life for thousands if not hundreds of thousands across the globe. In fact, many true Jedi (here referring to those who follow the philosophical path of Jediism) have cited that they have no interest in Star Wars, but simply find the philosophical concepts of Jediism to meet their spiritual needs, where similar philosophies such as Buddhism fail. Many followers of Jediism refrain from calling the Path a religion, but instead refer to it as a philosophy, or even a way of life they believe in the Force but they do not worship the Force. Interestingly enough, proponents of Jediism even argue that one may practice the Path alongside another religion, such as Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, or even Islam, and the majority of practitioners are likely practicing their own sort of hybrid spirituality.... Being gay was something that was never discussed. If it was brought up, it was usually in hushed tones (I remember being introduced to my uncle s close friend each holiday) or as something negative (I still remember the sting of being called a faggot in elementary school). This reflected exactly how homosexualitywas portrayed in media at the time. Queercharacters and homosexuality were at best portrayed in codified, blink and you ll miss it labels and affectations, or at worst, something to laugh at, pity or even hate. As someone who still regularly reads comics, watches Saturday morning cartoons and play video games, it is so exciting to discover the lengths of progress that has been made in queer representation in all age media. And Alexander the Great was one of these people. During his childhood Alexander had great teachers who taught him how to use and how to choose great politics, diplomacy and, how to win the war if that day would come. For many years Alexander the Great studied how to control everything and how to be ready to do anything that might be needed. At the age of sixteen he had to become a king of big kingdom, because his father, Philip, was in the war with Byzantium. Alexander strengthened his position in the power, he tamed people that were trying to make a revolution to take power in their hands. To get support from wealthy and other people in Alexander s kingdom, he canceled taxes, and killed other people that might claim for the king s position. This journey is commonly referred to as the Oregon Trail, even though it went through the states of Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Montana and other states (Dary xiii). In the pioneers best interests, the train would include a guide or a missionary that could communicate with the Native Americans. Thus showing the pioneers found a way to bridge the gap and effectively communicate with the Native Americans. In addition, the religious beliefs of people motivated them to complete their journey. For example missionaries including Jason Lee, Marcus and Narcissa Whitman, and Henry and Eliza Spalding successfully created mission stations along the Oregon trail (Woodworth 58). Once established, however, missionaries struggled to maintain funding. As a result, Marcus Whitman, journeyed back east to seek additional support. Whitman faced a difficult and dangerous journey through the cold winter months, but his beliefs helped him to persevere and survive the trip. When people back home learned of Whitman s courage and determination, he was able to convince the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions to provide additional funding (Woodworth 71). • 30. Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe Since its publication in 1719, Robinson Crusoe has served as a popular adventure novel. The overall content of the story presents itself as nothing more than adventurous, but after a close reading it becomes clear that the narrative has an underlying message of colonialism. The novel tells the story of a European man who gradually gains complete control over an island in the Caribbean. The author, Daniel Defoe, presents colonialismby portraying the protagonist as someone who slowly and progressively asserts his dominion over the foreign land. In the novelcolonialism is clearly reflected through the relationship between the colonized and the colonizer. It is through Crusoe s interactions with Friday that multiple allegorical facets of colonialism such as economic power, psychological domination, and spiritual belief become evident to the reader. The relationship between Crusoe and Friday shows the relationship of master and slave. Crusoe metaphorically represents the imperial figure or colonizer while Friday becomes the metaphor for the colonized. Robinson however does not fall immediately into his role as colonizer he first has to establish control over the island itself and learn how to survive. Single Parent Families Case Study Introduction: As many families in today s society suffer to make ends meet, it is important to remember, Parents with meager means have the same aspirations for their children as other parents. Children from poor families have the same needs as other children as Mark Sanford (2015) once said. In every family scenario, the basic life can be affected based on the economic situation each family is in. Each family, when put in various scenarios deals with certain circumstances differently. The family scenario that will be applied throughout this essay was based in a single parent household, where the father had just passed away; there were also two children which the mother had to support on a low wage job. Within this type of family, it was noticed how it may become difficult for single parents to conquer all the issues going on in their lives . Active Learning is the Key to Understanding, Not Passive Learning According to Paulo Freire, a Brazilian educator and philosopher, the current education lacks teacher student communication. In his article he reveals that, Instead of communicating, the teacher issues communiques and makes deposits which the students patiently perceive, memorize, and repeat. This is the banking concept of education, in which the scope of action allowed to the students extends only as far as receiving, filing, and storing the deposits. Basically, Freire s argument is that education should involve student teacher knowledge exchange, rather than the teacher being the one teaching all the time. As someone who is an educator, Freire understands that knowledge is a result of active learning rather than passive learning. He likens the current education to a banking system whereby the teacher just deposits information into the students empty heads. Freire complains that this type of education does not give students the understanding they need to connect the material with reality. In fact, he stresses out that students just memorize what is said by the teacher without understanding the concepts. Due to that, he further describes how the concepts taught in class seem to be disconnected from reality since the students cannot relate how education affects their day to day lives.
