Ageism In The Workplace Essay
Ageism is the discrimination of people based on their old or young. There will always be
someone who is working at the same company that is either older or younger than you, doesn t
matter if its only by a few months or years. Both people are at the company to do a job. At a local
dermatologist, the story will follow to medical assistants almost 30 years apart in age. Their job is
to help bring back patients and assist the doctor or physicians assistant. Although the government
has worked to eliminate ageismin the workforce, prejudices based on age are still present and
scene in day to day officers. The Age Discriminationin Employment Act ( ADEA) makes it

mental sharpness, and are not good at functioning in a workplace. In the same case as young
adults, these myths and stereotypes regarding the elderly are most commonly not true. In a
doctors office patients seem to prefer an older medical assistant (MA) or doctor to one who is
younger. Experience goes along way in the medical field, an MA who has been at the same job
for over 20 years is looked at more trustworthy by their patients. The medical field is ever
growing and jobs are always opening. But with medical school taking almost up to nine years to

Younger generations are starting to get more schooling then their parents ever did. Terri, a 38

An Analysis Of Calvin s Argument For Providence
AN ANALYSIS OF CALVIN S ARGUMENT FOR PROVIDENCE
Calvin on Providence In a time of chaos, the words, God is in control, can bring peace to
believers and non believers alike. This phrase has found its way to bumper stickers, Hallmark
cards, and Facebook post, and in many ways it has become a junk drawer phrase one that we pull
out when we need a comforting clichГ©. When pandemonium breaks loose and we seem to have
lost all control, then it is convenient for God to be in control. But what about when things are not?
What if things are relatively normal. What does it mean for God to be sovereign? This is the
question that has perhaps caused more controversy than any other. For John Calvin, God was
completely sovereign. Nothing outside the will of God could take place, because everything that
has taken place, is taking place, or will take place has been divinely ordained before time began.
God is the source of all good, and evil cannot take place without His permission. According to
Calvin, all of humankind are lost in their sins, and so depraved that they are incapable of finding
salvation without God performing an inner miracle within them. This being said, God has elected
to Himself a chosen people from the beginning of time, not off of merit, but sola gratia.
In Chapter 17 of Book I of Calvin s Institutes of the Christian Religion, Calvin expounds upon how
when it comes to Calvin s view of providence, nothing is more profitable than the knowledge of this

Cosplay Imperialism
Cosplay, short for costume play , is a performance art in which people called cosplayers wear
costumes and specific accessories and props to represent or portray a specific fictional character. It
is a unique Japanese form of art which, playing upon the identificatory fantasy, it enables the
western participants to assume identities and to differentiate themselves in ways which western
culturecannot. The average cosplayer is not just putting on a costume; the experience is one of
rebirth, an identity transformation. Daniel s (2010) paper determines whether cosplay is a
demonstration of cultural imperialism of cultural hybridity. Lotecki (2012) and Hale s (2014) paper
examines the creative, emotional, social, and behavioural processes in which cosplayers participate
while interpreting and constructing their characters, including the differentiation between fiction
and reality, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All three papers examine cosplay as another identity portrayed in art form in North America.
Cosplay help people with low self esteem by improving communication skills, creativity, and the
perception of body image.
Cosplay can increase confidence through social interaction and communication. Modern trends of
declining community interaction and a fading sense of social belonging have created gaps that
fan cultures are able to fill by providing a space for community and acceptance. Cosplay is a
social activity that takes place in specific environments, such as anime, manga, and sci fi
conventions, club meetings, karaoke events and so on. These events are socially defined sites of
activity for cosplayers, where one can find peers with similar interests, sign up in a variety of
performances, and actively participate within the community. Conventions hold certain events that
are made specifically for cosplayers: the Masquerade and the Hall Contest. Dressing up allows

Employee Performance Management System Essay
According to Hyde (2004), performance management is a group of guidelines utilized in refining
productivity, handling workplace behavior, training and development of staff, and providing
positive feedback on a regular basis. A good employee performance management system entails
components that help employers concurrently accomplish goals and sustain employee satisfaction.
Performance management allows a business to identify strategic goals, and measure/manage
performance against those goals. It contains a set of incorporated management and systematic
methods that deal with financial and operational activities. Researchers have said for years that a
strategy of laying off people in many cases does not work, and may even backfire, in times... Show

*Sea World: Empty the Tanks SeaWorld had stated that they haven t captured any orcas since 1982.
This is because of their ground breaking reproduction research programme .
Since the opening at SeaWorld in 1959 they have imprisoned and exploited one hundred and

still born. SeaWorld now currently holds 23 orcas in its three parks in the United Statesand a

SeaWorld are destroying orcas lives and effecting every aspect of their natural instincts. While
destroying the orcas they are also lying to the public and covering up all the signs of bad health of
the orcas.
At SeaWorld captivity has a massive effect on the physical side of orcas. Due to the shallow
depths of the tanks and the lack of sun protection and crystal clear water, the orcas are often
exposed to blistering heat giving them perpetual sunburn. To hide and cover this from the public
SeaWorld apply black zinc oxide to the burns as it matches their skin colour. Even though black
zinc oxide minimalizes light reflection it is almost always only applied to the orcas once they
have already conceived the burns and should not be used on their skin. According to The Dodo , a
former SeaWorld trainer told them that the animal s skin was usually burned or blistered before
the application of the black zinc oxide . This suggest that SeaWorld cares more about their income
and the view they have to the public than the orcas health and well being.
In captivity 100% of male orcas have collapsed dorsal fin, this also occurs in female orcas but not
as often. There are many potential causes to this which include dehydration, reduced activity and
stress. Dehydration and overheating of fin tissue is due to the warm water and air

The, Loss, And Isolation Of The Novel The Twelfth Tale
The theme of The Thirteenth Tale is one of the major key points that makes the story feel the way it
feels. There are deep elements that come together to make this dark melancholy outlook throughout
the story. Many of which are the biggest contributor s is how the story portrays death, Jane Eyre,
loss, and isolation of the characters within the world.
By far the biggest contributor to the theme of the book would be death. Death is deeply explored
when Margaret discovers that she has a dead twin and when Margret also mentions death within
stories is what makes them interesting to her I read old novels. The reason is simple: I prefer
proper endings. Marriages and death. Margret s Story P. 29 She also believes that writers have a
way of staying alive even when death comes for them Yet for some there is an exception for this
annihilation. For in the books they write they continue to exist. P. 29 Death builds on the story, like
a puzzle. Each death is like a puzzle piece that helps put the full story together. The beginning of
the puzzle of Ms. Winters starts with George. George took care of Isabelle and catered to all her
needs, never denying her of anything, making her grow into an unstable person as she became
older. After attacking Isabelle after she threatened to be with Roland, taking her away from him,
he died from septicemia, an infection. The next death would be Isabelle s years later after being in

Seventy Year Old Minister Essay
My paper is based on the fact that a bomb has been dropped on a city and only ten people have
made it into the bomb shelter. While they are in there they discover that there is only enough
food for seven of them so three of them will have to go. I am speaking in the character of the
armed policemen and I have chosen to take out the Female Vocalist, The Famous Writer, and the
Seventy year old minister. I have chose them for certain reasons that I will explain in the next
couple of paragraphs. The reason I took out the Seventy year old minister is for one he is
Seventy and the life expectancy for a man is Seventy Five so therefore he can go because he will
not be able to help repopulate for long. But he is a Godly man so it would be good to keep him
for the fact that he may teach the future generation for a year or two but I am not to sure they
would understand the word of God that fast. This man also is possibly your weakest link so if
you got into a situation he may not be helpful so that is another reason why I would take him out.
The basics to the minister are he has lived his life, he is old, he is weak, and there is nothing he
can really help with.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I chose to take her out because she really does no good to the shelter. All her singing would really

Also some singers have to have something to drink every time they sing and there is not enough
supplies for her to have something to drink after every time that she sings. This is why I would

Creep Song Analysis
Song Contrast Essay Songs are very diverse in today s day of age. From the smooth sounds of Jazz,
energizing pop, and disruptive Rock; almost everyone can find their own taste of music. A
popular song from the 1930 s, Creep by Radiohead, recently got a cover in 2015 by a band called
Scott Bradlee s Postmodern Jukebox, which change alternative Rock song to Jazz. But through this
change of genre of the this song, how does the cogitation of the song change? Scott Bradlee s
version of Creep suggests a sad person who is explaining the things wrong with them; meanwhile
the Radiohead s version of Creep suggests a person who is frustrated at the world. This contrast can
be established through the differences in the songs vocals,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The major reason why this causes a dramatic difference between the meaning of the songs is that,
again, it changes the relationship of the singer to the woman they are singing about. In this version
of Creep, this causes the listener to view the song to believe that a heterosexual male singing
about his girl of his dreams instead of the homosexual female singing about her girl of her
dreams like the Bradlee s version of Creep suggests. Another big difference between the two
songs is the instrumentals they have in them. In the Bradlee s version of Creep, the main
instruments in it are a piano, a cello, a trombone and a saxaphone. This is part of a common line
up of Jazz as stated by an article title Zydeco . It states, The most important and traditional
instrument used in performing zydeco (Jazz) is the piano accordion. Other instruments often
included in a zydeco band are the guitar, electric bass, saxophone, drums, and rubboard
(washboard) (Zydeco) From knowing that this is a line up to Jazz that we can assume that this is a
traditional Jazz line for Bradlee s version of the song. With both of them sharing the piano,
saxophone, and other brass instrument, we

Maus Symbolism
The graphic novel Maus by Art Spiegelman published in 1980 reinforces the ruthlessness of
Nazis, painting them in a deplorable connotation. Set in World War II, the text supports this
theorem through the author s use of symbolism, captions and facial expressions. Each
convention conveys the callousness of Nazis towards Jews, evoking dismay from the readers. In
the first panel, the long shot captures the full position of a Nazi soldier on a silhouetted horse,
grasping a rifle in his hands, which symbolises violence. Clad in army attire, the soldier s upright
posture exemplifies menace as his gaze is fixed upon a Jewish man hunched over a crate filled
with rocks, seemingly too old or weak for such work , as quoted by the caption up top. Thus, the
symbolism of the rifle and the Nazi s upright posture suggest power and authority in comparison to
the mere shovel held by the Jewish man. This reinforces the ruthless characteristic of Nazis by
highlighting their brutal indifference towards the anguish of Jewish people, as also evidenced by
the scornful remark of worthless Jew! in the next panel, evoking despair from the readers.... Show

The alliteration of the ea sound in Jews beaten with no reason emphasises its meaning, with the aid
of the image capturing the deserted town, thus suggesting that indeed, whole towns were pushing

alliteration, caption and symbolism, as well as the darkness of the background, which represents an
ominous connotation. This challenges our values of equality, focusing on the extermination of the

Becoming Fit Essay
There is never a better time then now to transform the body. Taking the first steps to changing
your body is the hardest part. Changes in a lifestyle need to occur, figure out the healthy foods
to eat, the healthy amount of calories to take in, and the certain exercises that will target the
fatter areas. Losing fat and exercising are the main parts to transforming the body. The process
of fat loss will help maintain a long, healthy lifestyle. The change in a lifestyle is one of the main
parts to the transformation of the body. This happens by completely changing eating habits,
exercises, and even the way a person thinks. Becoming fit is not as easy as people on TV shows
and ads make it seem. To begin the long road to getting in shape means hard work and pushing
the body till the goal is achieved. Always ask yourself honestly about your weight. Never sugar
coat things or beat around the bushes (Aschan). Most people who start gaining weight begin to
get insecure about their body and normally go to food for the satisfaction, but the key is to try
and go for exercise or an active activity for satisfaction instead. The best ways to make this
happen are to spend time with friends that like to work out or just stay away from lazy activities.
In order to live out this healthy lifestyle, keeping it regular is a must. Most people who go to diets
or training workouts usually have a stopping point for it which is when they go back to their
previous ways (Saleem). There are plenty

The 4th of July vs. Justice Taney in Dred Scott Ruling
In the years leading to the U.S. Civil War, the controversy over slavery became
not only a social issue, but also a political and legal one as well. Opponents and
proponents of slavery each looked to the American constitution, as well as the prevailing
culture of the time, for direction in dealing with this matter. Two such people who based
their landmark works on this were Justine Taney of the U.S. Supreme Court, and
Frederick Douglas, an emancipated slave, who fought tirelessly for the abolishment of
slavery.
In 1852, Frederick Douglas was asked to speak at a July 4th celebration. In his
speech, he made it known clearly, his detestment for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He likened this to the analogy of rivers, which, he said, were like
nations. Even though a river can not be turned aside, it may dry up . If a nation dries
up , there will be nohing left of that nation, except a withered branch . This withered
branch is a symbol of what the nation believed in and what could happen to it if it
unfairly cast aside certain members of its society.
Douglas also pointed out that the Declaration of Independence was one of the
most valuable factors in the Nation s destiny. The principles written in the Declaration of
Independence should be kept and adhered to. Be true to to them on all occasions , wrote
Douglas. He believed that most documents that were written after the Declaration of
Independence didn t follow the significant ideology set forth in the Declaration of
Independence. Douglas wants to use the Constitution, but without the pro slavery clause
in it.
In stark contrast to this, Justice Taney, who wrote the majority opinion of the
court in the case of Dred Scott V. Sandford, dealt a major blow to the work of Frederick
Douglas. In his opinion, Justice Taney uses the same reference points as Frederick
Douglas, only to twist it, and give it a pro slavery slant.

Independence, but in this case, to prove that blacks were never intended to maintain full

Secession Dbq Essay
During the 1850s, the political climate in America was one of tension, turmoil, and division.
Although there was great opposition for the scandalous Kansas Nebraska Act of 1854, the bill
passed and resulted in the creation of the Republican party. The creation of a new political party
portrayed a division among specific regional states within America. Ultimately, disagreement with
the Union brought forth the topic of secession. In 1861, Texas Governor Sam Houston faced a
difficult decision: to favor or oppose the secession of Texas. Union Sam Houston: The idea of

The Union supported a free Kansas while we proposed for the state to decide whether they
would allow slavery. If we stay in the Union, the desire to abolish slavery may be forced upon us.
Slavery is the backbone of our economy and we must preserve it. Union Sam Houston: On the
other hand, it might just be better to stay together. We are legitimized as a Union and are
recognized by foreign affairs. This impacts our trade which promotes a stabilized economy and
nation. We are stronger together and differences can be worked on through compromise.
Secession Sam Houston: Compromise may be out of the picture because we have experienced
wrongdoings by the Union. For instance, the Union s violation of returning our fugitive slaves
under the Fugitive Slave Law is unacceptable. Additionally, it would be more ideal to have the
ability of setting our own tariffs and slave policy. The idea of compromise is naive and may
continue leading to the suppression of Southern desires. Union Sam Houston: Maybe we are just
not willing to sacrifice our own interests for such compromise. If we voice our interest to work

The Decline Of The Plague
In 14th century Europe during its medieval period there was a pandemic that killed many people
all over Europe and Asia called the Black Death. This disease spread fast with the increasing
trade between all the people in Europe through its complex system of trade routes. At this time
everybody was unsure on where the plague came from. The plague was affecting both the packed
urban areas and the rural areas of Europe as well. Without knowledge of sanitation and medicine
this spread rapidly and many people were affected by the plague.
The period before the plague was very important to medieval Europe. It was times of prosper for the
majority of Europe. There was an increase in trade and agriculture and communication with the

Essay on Kokoro and the Parallels of Historical Events
Throughout history artists have used art as a means to reflect the on goings of the society
surrounding them. Many times, novels serve as primary sources in the future for students to
reflect on past history. Students can successfully use novels as a source of understanding past
events. Different sentiments and points of views within novels serve as the information one may
use to reflect on these events. Natsume Soseki s novel Kokoro successfully encapsulates much of
what has been discussed in class, parallels with the events in Japan at the time the novel takes
place, and serves as a social commentary to describe these events in Japan at the time of the Mejeii
Restoration and beyond. Therefore, Kokoro successfully serves as a primary... Show more content

Soseki lived through the Mejeii Restoration and more than likely encountered many different
Japanese views of Westerners. Here, it seems as if Soseki is playing devil s advocate to popular
belief and describing this particular Westerner as non threatening and willing to take up
Japanese customs and ways of living. Soseki may have been trying to reveal the dominant belief
(as described above by Duus) may have not been the only sentiment of whites in Japanese
society. In fact, Soseki may be trying to reveal there were Westerners who successfully accepted
Japanese traditions and customs. The narrator s awe of this Westerner seems to reveal and
highlight this point by his surprise that Westerners like this existed who were willing to adopt
Japanese culture in a non threatening fashion. The role of women is also depicted at length
within Kokoro in a few ways. As Sensei describes in his letter the way him and his wife came to
be married (her mother and father choosing her husband for her), this point is described by Duus.
Duus describes the heads of the households as the one to choose marriage partners for their family
members. He describes children having to receive parental permission before getting married. In
Kokoro this is highlighted as Sensei must receive his future wife s permission before wedding her.
In fact, her parents chose the Sensei as her husband before she or he even asked permission by

Sir Gawain And The Green Knight Summary Chapter 12
During the fourth chapter of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the journey towards the Green
Chapel commences. Sir Gawain is escorted by a member of the Red Manor, who gives the
knight a heed of warning. The escort offers advice to not travel to the Green Chapel, and if he
chose this path, the escort would not tell of his fleeing. Sir Gawain thanks the escort for his
warning but tells him that he has to keep his word, otherwise he would become a coward. The
chapel was almost missed, if it not for Sir Gawain noticing a rounded hillock on the bank of a
stream, near the bed of a torrent that tumbled there (Sir Gawain 2172 73). Sir Gawain entered
the mound, which was the entrance to the chapel. Here, he met up with the Green Knight. This
is where he reached the end of his quest and was destined to receive his blow to the neck. Sir
Gawain moved away from the first attempt, which caused the Knight to suspect that he was not
the true knight of the quest. After a dialogue was exchanged between the two, the Green Knight
struck a blow to Sir Gawain, which only nicked his neck. The Green Knight told him that his
wife was Morgan, whom Gawain spent time with in the Manor, and she was sent to test Gawain.
The Green Knight called Sir Gawain one of the most perfect men who ever walked on the earth
(Sir Gawain 2363). Sir Gawain replied in anger, saying that he was not a virtuous knight, therefore
he doesn t deserve such a remark. Sir Gawain was sent back to Arthur s

Flexible Organization
A proper flexible organization provides its work force arrangements where employees are given
greater freedom to balance their work and personal commitments such as family, higher education,
community activities, religious commitments, professional development, and general interests.
Above is Atkinson s model of a flexible firm. He argued that firms increasingly seek 4 kinds of
flexibility functional, numerical, pay, distancing.
Functional flexibility is a qualitative approach to work, and refers to management s ability to deploy
and redeploy particular sections of the workforce on a wide range of tasks in response to market
demand as and when required (Sparrow 1998 cited in Teicher Holland 2006 p. 241 242). To ensure
that this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Flexible work arrangements has its pros, unfortunately it does have its disadvantages as well.
First of all, it is important that employers need to recognize that flexible work arrangements are
not always appropriate for all people, jobs or industries. For example, if companies allow its
service workers to arrive to work at different hours, customer service may suffer. Potential
customers are forced to either wait or seek somewhere else. This also concerns manufacturers;
many factory operations rely on employees to arrive at the same time, because they depend on each
other for the smooth flowing of production.
In its hard form it can also mean the intensification of work by redressing jobs to include a greater
variety of low skilled tasks without any skill development (Teicher Holland 2006 p. 242)
Critics also contend that flexible programs often leave managers in difficult situations. As Martha
H. Peak wrote in Management Review (1994) Far too often, flex is embraced В… for its family
friendly aspects long before the corporate support needed to manage it takes root. In these
companies, flex policies are outlined in the employee manual but implementation is left up to
individual managers. Then, when managers try to implement these programs, they discover that to
be fair, flex requires them to treat different employees differently.
Telecommuting and other flexi place arrangements can be disastrous if employees are

How And Why Did Robert Menzies Send Troops To The Vietnam War
How and Why did Robert Menzies send troops to Vietnam War.
In 1962, Robert Menzies, the prime minister of Australia at the time, sent Australian troops to fight
in the Vietnam War. Menzies sent troops to Vietnam due to the fear and threat of communism
affecting our geographical area through the domino theory, the foreign policy and treaties and
alliances that Australia was a part of.
One of the many reasons Robert Menzies sent troops to Vietnam War was due to the fear of
communism throughout our Pacific area. Robert Menzies sent troops to Vietnam to fight against
the communist North, as a result of the domino theory that when one country falls the rest will
soon fall too. This domino theory was proving true as our neighbouring countries such as; Thailand
and Indonesia were getting affected by communism. Therefore, Menzies sent troops to Vietnam to
help the non communist countries stop the communists from coming to Australia.
Another reason why Menzies sent troops to fight in Vietnam was because of Australia s foreign
policy and the doctrine of forward defence. Menzies believed that it was better to fight the

The Impact Of Financial Crisis On The Uk Economy
Executive summary
The financial crisis 2007/08 led to the fact that some large financial institutions were under threat
to collapse and had to be bailed out by the government to avoid a total meltdown of the financial
system. The financial crisis was triggered by a combination of factors; some of them were the
lack of regulations and supervision, excessive leverage practice, insufficient liquidity provision and
a lack of adequate capital holdings by the banks. This report will focus on two different concepts
bank s capital and liquidity, explaining the importance of both for banks, how they link and
interact with each other, and the risks banks could face in case of any potential shortfalls in these
key areas. A shortfall in one of these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Basel III proposals by Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) specified minimum

most of bank s assets are secured and unsecured loans to individuals and businesses and lending

Belasco s Food
Warren Belasco, in his scholarly book, Food: The Key Concepts, highlights the way in which the
food we consume affects our lives more than we actually realize. Using his own text with a
combination of enhancement materials such as quotes and pictorial diagrams, Belasco is able to
relay the fact that the foodindustry is one of the most predominant in The United Statesof America.
Shifting between both scholarly and casual tones, Belasco is able to relate to his audience
members by providing everyday examples in which we use food as a means of conversation,
socialization, and more. Upon reviewing chapter one of the piece, entitled Why Study Food? , it is
clear that Belasco strives to highlight just how civilization itself is impossible without... Show more

Through the beginning paragraphs, Belasco helps his readers understand his point by providing
examples in which we utilize foods in our daily lives (such as coffee with a potential employer or a
casual lunch to catch up with a friend). He also comments about how one of the most
overwhelming emotions that surrounds food is anxiety. Although we may not think it, food really
does cause major anxieties from famine, to eating disorders, to obesity and everything in between.
Upon trying to explain this concept to readers in simpler terms, Belasco comments on how we
can t live without food, but food also kills us (12). Using such straightforward and balanced
syntax, it is clear that we live in a world in which the way we decide to portion our food intake
determines the way our lives will eventually take course. Belasco continues the chapter by
explaining the legitimacy of the academic study of food. Although food is extremely important in
several aspects of our lives, it is often overlooked when it comes to the world of academia. Most
academics fail to recognize the noteworthiness that a discussion about different foods could
potentially bring. Belasco goes through the history of the studies and

Attracting females and racial/ethnic minorities to law enforcement
The article Attracting females and racial/ethnic minorities to law enforcement is about local law
enforcement agencies and their efforts to engage women and ethnic/minorities into participating in
law enforcement agencies applicant processes and also concerns the hiring patterns of law
enforcement agencies and the abilities of these agencies to fill sworn positions with females and
minority officers. The arrival of the 20th century brought with it a change in the policing
environment from the spoils system of earlier days to a more inclusive environment for female and
minority presence within officer ranks. Some of the problems that law enforcement agencies of the
more recent times will have with attracting females and minorities into law enforcement agency
careers comes from outside of the agencies, but the most important determining problems can come
from within those agencies themselves such as fear of the race and gender discrimination from the
likes of employers and co workers that makes females and minorities reluctant to join law
enforcement agencies. The more highly televised incidents of the police brutality such as the
Rodney King beating, Abner Louima torturing, and other abuse of force incidents make it very

The Major Differences Between UPLC And HPLC
As previously mentioned the major difference UPLC and HPLC is the pressure and particle size.
Pressures of up 1000 bar can be achieved with UPLC, which is necessary to maintain shorter
retention times. In UPLC smaller particles are used. These smaller particles provide a greater
surface area of the stationary phase within the column, making the separation of the substances
much more efficient. However, the smaller the particles are, the more pressure that is required. A
summary of the main differences between HPLC and UPLC can be seen in the table below:
AttributeHPLCUPLC
Pressure6000 Psi100,000 Psi
Particle Size5Ојm1.7Ојm
Flow RateMillilitres per minuteMicrolitres per minute
Max ResolutionRelatively lowRelatively high
The lower particle size is the true reason for UPLC increased flow rate and resolution. This can
be shown mathematically using Van Deemter s equation: H = A + B/Вµ + CВµ. H being the plate
height and Вµ being the particle size. The A constant remains constant independent of flow rate
(known as the Eddy diffusion term ). The B constant is the diffusion coefficient, and C is the
analyte mass transfer coefficient. As Вµ decreases, the A and C values... Show more content on

Gumustas et al [3] reviewed that UPLC was more efficient than HPLC. In comparison to HPLC,
UPLC can run higher resolution methods, using shorter columns, smaller size of particles, with
higher flow rates under high pressure. The injection volume of UPLC is almost ten times smaller
than that of HPLC, which results in good peak shapes and low carryover effects related to column
diameter. It was also reviewed that the major disadvantages of UPLC were the high prices of
purchasing and maintaining the instrument as well as the shorter column life due to the increased
back pressure. However, the advantages of less solvent consumption, faster chromatography and
better resolution properties overcome these

state in capitalist society is to defend the interests of the ruling class (Quinney 2001 261). The state

. Quinney fights that any action of the state is done to benefit the higher class in the capitalist
system. The state does not act as a third party in conflict, but solely reinforces the higher classes.
Meanwhile, the conflicts between the classes are rooted in the economics of society. The state
holds citizens in their respective classes, politically and economically, even though our nation is
declared to be democratic. A critical analysis of our societal legal order, according to Quinney,
must observe certain aspects of crime control in the capitalist state (Quinney 2001 262). First, a
look into the nature of the state must be made. The state was designed as a system, which is
designed to oppress lower classes. The second assessment is the determination of the relationship
between the dominating economic class and the state, which is not distinguished between the
ruling class and the state. The important questions posed in this aspect are to discover how the
ruling class came to rule, and how the state governs in a way to maintain the inequalities. The third
observation in assessing the legal order is to observe how the state develops in comparison to the
capitalist economy. Engles is quoted to argue that the development of the state is to become an
entity which protects the riches of individuals (Quinney 2001 263) in opposition to

Romanov Dynasty Case Study
There are many reasons behind the decline and fall of the Romanov Dynasty but I believe these
are the five main reasons why it occurred. The first two reasons are the socio economic struggle
faced by the Russian working class and the disappointment among Russian troops, which can be
related to as factors of the First World War. Secondly, another two reasons are the effects of failed
reforms and the role of the Siberian freak Rasputin, which can be categorised as reasons, linked to
Nicholas II s leadership. Finally, the last main reason is the mass scale and organisation of protests.
I believe that the First World War is the most significant factor in the decline and fall of the

One massive event that occurred in 1905 was Bloody Sunday. This was a devastating event, which
occurred in Russia due to innocent people wanting justice and protection. The people wanted to
reduce the working day to eight hours. They also wanted the employers and administrators to
provide medical care in the workplace. Over these few days of protesting 1000 people were
trampled on to death. Moreover, the 1917 revolution led to Nicholas abdication. One of the main
reasons for Nicholas abdication was due to the mass amount of workers rights protests in
February 1917. They grew so big because of a series of uncoordinated strikes in the capital that
immediately attacked the government over food shortages, which gave more people a reason to
protest. By 25th February 1917 over 200,000 people had protested on Petrograd streets. In 1905
protestors were divided, but in 1917 almost all were united by their rejection of Tsarism. The
Petrograd Soviet coordinated strikes and protests, making them harder to stop because they would
often occur randomly. By comparing February 1917 to 1905 you can easily figure out the reasons

Dogberry And Friar Essay
William Shakespeare is known for writing many popular plays and is thought to be the greatest
writer of English Literature. In Shakespeare s work Much Ado About Nothing the Count
Claudio was to marry Hero, but the prince s brother, Don John, deceived Claudio into thinking
Hero was impure. Although the Friar knew better and convinced Claudio otherwise. While this
is the main idea, this essay is on a less major topic. It is on the foil characters Dogberry and the
Friar. Dogberry is the head of Leonato s watchmen and guard. Although, even though he is in
charge of something so important, Dogberry is not very bright. You may go as far as to say he is
especially dimwitted. Dogberry and his partner, Verges, use many malapropisms throughout this
entire play. In act IV scene ii Dogberry asks, Is our whole disassembly appeared? (Shakespeare 76).

As a friar, The Friar must have gone through extensive schooling and educational training.
Although Dogberry is merely a watchman and guard, he must have never received proper

final example of Dogberry s foolishness is when he was telling Leonato of what Borachio did, he
said, ...our watch, sir, have indeed comprehended two aspicious persons... (Shakespeare 278) In
less than a sentence Dogberry used two different malapropisms in a row. The two characters
completely diverge from each others educational capacities. The characters Friar and Dogberry
completely contradict each other. The Friar is the genius who brought Claudio back to Hero with
his flawless plan. On the other hand, Dogberry is the simpleton watchman who was lucky enough
to have the villain conveniently confess for him. The watchman was lucky while the friar was wise.

Pros And Cons Of Genetic Counseling
Prompt I On July 27th, 1997, my life and my family s lives changed. My mother received a
phone call from my pediatrician, letting her know that her three year old daughter had a
positive result for cystic fibrosis (CF). When she describes that moment in her life, she says that
it was the most stressful time she can remember. As a pharmacist, she had always known what
CF was but she had no idea how to raise a child who had been diagnosed with it. To ease her
mind my pediatrician referred her to a genetic counselor (GC). I was three when I was sitting
across from a genetic counselor, so I never knew what the role of a genetic counselor was or any
specifics of the profession. When I was in high school my mom mentioned her visit to a genetic
counselor and I asked her to expand on that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of the relationship between GC and consultand, items discussed would include: medical
history, genetic history, familyhistory, and risk assessment. If a consultand is seeing a GC that
specializes in cancer, cancer will be the main focus of that conversation. If a consultand is seeing
pre natal counselor, family histories of miscarriages, autosomal disorders, and congenital
malformations will be the topics of conversation. The influence of genetics on the life of the
consultand is the main goal of the professional relationship. This kind of relationship is also
defined by its limitations. According to the National Society of Genetic Counselors, a genetic
counselor is someone who uses the process of helping people understand and adapt to the medical,
psychological, and familial implications of the genetic contributions to disease . These main goals
of a genetic counselor outline the limitations of the relationship. All professions that involve one on
one interaction with clients or patients have a limited skill set, and therefore a limited

Analysis Of Oddi Banding
Oddi Banding Weight Loss Procedure Morbidly obese patients have recently been introduced to
a rapid weight loss procedure called Oddi Banding. The procedure is comparable to gastric
banding in that it works by attaching a small plastic band around the sphincter of Oddi (SO),
compressing the outer wall. The SO has many different important purposes that are adversely
affected by this procedure. Some of these side effects include: anemia, elevated white blood cell
count, abnormal discomfort after eating, scaring of the Sphincter of Oddi, damage to surrounding
organs and even death. All of these elements will be explained below in further detail.
(CQUniversity, 2015) What is the Sphincter of Oddi? The Sphincter of Oddi is a construction...

If this new tissue is not flexible and is unable to preform the task required of the SO it will be
detrimental to the surrounding organs such as the pancreas and more importantly the individual s
health. The pancreas is responsible for releasing enzymes to aid in the digestion and absorption of
food in the small intestine; it also creates hormones that regulate blood sugar levels. (Kathryn L.
McCance, 2014)(NCBI, 2013) These enzymes travel through the pancreatic duct and out the
Sphincter of Oddi into the Duodenum. If scar tissue is present at the SO it will be incapable of
relaxing and allowing for pancreatic enzymes to pass through into the duodenum resulting in a
backup of secretions. The overflow of secretions in the pancreas causes autodigestion (the digestion
of the pancreas own tissues) resulting in inflammation. This autodigestion can then cause
coagulative necrosis (cell death caused by ischemia and anemia), vascular damage, fat necrosis and
the growth of pseudocysts (fluid filled sac in the wall of the pancreas). All of these abnormalities,
injuries to the vessel walls, inflammation and coagulation malfunctions trigger an activation of
leukocytes. These responses will cause vasodilation and hypotension resulting in shock. The later
systemic effects of this can be respiratory arrest, cardiac failure, and renal failure

Machiavelli The Father Of Modern Political Thought Summary

Machiavelli The Father of Modern Political Thought
There are many reasons why Machiavelli is widely considered the beginner of modern political
thought, one of the many is he studied strictly the politicians, and businessmen. Machiavelli
recognized the political playing field as a vile place only for the most dominating and cunning of
political giants. One of Machiavelli s most famous work, On Principalities, or known by the other
title, The Prince, absolutely announced a break with previous political beliefs secured between
moral and religion system, it examines the nature of his views on power that are still somewhat
in existent today. Machiavelli discusses in this work power over the people, oppressive power,
and shared power. Machiavelli discusses two specific groups of people such as the political elite
and the general public within this work.
While Machiavelli highlighted power over in relations between the political elite, he examines a
different kind of power in the affiliation between a prince and his public. Machiavelli noted that
he can share his power with his people, since he can trust his people more than he can the nobles.
The nobles cannot be satisfied if their ruler acts honorably, because their desires are more ethical
than the nobles are. The people are more forgiving and less greedy so he can place more trust in
his people and empower his trusting public.
Though the public may be more trustworthy Machiavelli also stated that a prince needed to be harsh
in the treatment of both the mixed sectors and the new sectors to avoid rebellions, the prince must
be harsh and cautious. It is easier for a prince to hold control after he has already stopped a
rebellion by empowering his power. Once the prince takes control of the city, he cannot forget it,
for his control can be easily lost.
Without order within his own court let alone his public, the prince would soon fall and possible
lose his control over everything. More or less how the prince started at the bottom and slowly made
his way to becoming a great king or he died at the feet of his people or someone of higher power

Anatomy And Physiology And Describe Their Subdivisions
1) Define anatomy and physiology and describe their subdivisions.
Anatomy studies the structure of body parts and their relationships to one another. Body structures
can be seen, felt, and examined closely.
Gross, or macroscopic, anatomy: Study of large body structures visible to the naked eye, such as
the heart, lungs and kidneys.
Regional anatomy, all the structures (muscles, bones, blood vessels, nerves, etc.) in a particular
region of the body, such as the abdomen or leg, are examined at the same time. Systemic anatomy

For example, bones can support and protect body organs because they contain hard mineral
deposits. Blood flows in one direction through heart because heart has valves that prevent backflow.
3) Name the different levels of structural organization that make up the human body, and explain
their relationships.
1. Chemical level atoms combine to form molecules.
2. Cellular level molecules, in turn, associate in specific ways to form organelles, basic
components of the microscopic cells. Cells are smallest units of living things.
3. Tissue level Tissue are groups of similar cells that have a common function. The four basic tissue
types:
Epithelium covers body surfaces and lines its cavities.
Muscle provides movement.
Connective tissue supports and protects body organs.
Nervous tissue provides a means of rapid internal communication by transmitting electrical
impulses.
4. Organ level Organs are made up of different types of tissues. Organ is a discrete structure
composed of at least two tissue types that performs a specific function for the body.
5. Organ system level Organs that work together to accomplish a common purpose make up an
organ system.
6. Organismal level represents the sum total of all structural levels working together to keep us
alive. Contains organism, the living human being.
4) List the 11 organ systems of the body, identify their components, and briefly explain the major
functions of each

It s Time To Procrastinate In High School
My entire high school career has been pushing off assignments until the very last minute. Even
this paper has been pushed off until late hours of the night. It has been a problem for a long
time, but I have been reluctant to do anything about it. In high school it is easy to procrastinate
because there will always be people to sympathise with you. Getting on a different sleep
schedule is the first thing I am attempting to become less of a procrastinator. Recently, IOS
implemented a new app to the iphone to help people get to sleep earlier: I have been using this
app to my advantage. My laziness is like a ticking time bomb, if I am not careful I will go into
college with bad habits and an attitude that will make it almost impossible for me to succeed...

Not only is being lazy about school work not good for my grades, Ralph Waldo Emerson says it
is also keeping me for being happy and living with less stress. There are various ways I have
started to prepare for college and become less lazy. I am going to start studying some of my
tougher subjects even if I do not have a test or quiz the next day. This is a very easy task because
it only takes 30 minutes out of my day, but it is a good habit to get into. A bad habit I need to get
out of is taking naps in the middle of my day whether it be after school or at five o clock on a
weekend. Consequently these naps make me feel awful and unproductive after and cause me to
go to sleep later than I had intended that night. Also forcing me to take another nap the next day in
an on going cycle. Being ready for college is going to take much more preparation than these
things, but with one and a half more years to accomplish my goal is

Japanese American Paranoia
In the early 1940 s and as the war progressed, the treatment and perception of Japanese
Americans, most of the western parts, like California, got progressively worse. The prejudice
against the Japanese steamed from the treatment of the Chinese in America and how they provided
cheap labor for the United States, cheating regular Americans out of their jobs. Once the Japanese
started to have a significant demographic in California, concern swept across Americans once
again, fearing cheap labor and lack of jobs once more. As tensions grew, the American paranoia of
a Japanese invasion/revolt also increased. Once the American government decided that they would
relocate all of the Japanese Americans to a safer sight, to prevent any spies from... Show more

It took over a decade for the American Congress to show approval for every surviving person
from the camp to receive $20,000 in compensation. Although they did receive some form of an

survivor of the internment camp, John Tateishi stated in an interview that he was humiliated when
he came back from the camps. We came out of these camps with a sense of shame and guilt, of
having been considered betrayers of our country. (John

An Analysis Of Calvin s Argument For Providence AN ANALYSIS OF CALVIN S ARGUMENT FOR PROVIDENCE Calvin on Providence In a time of chaos, the words, God is in control, can bring peace to believers and non believers alike. This phrase has found its way to bumper stickers, Hallmark cards, and Facebook post, and in many ways it has become a junk drawer phrase one that we pull out when we need a comforting clichГ©. When pandemonium breaks loose and we seem to have lost all control, then it is convenient for God to be in control. But what about when things are not? What if things are relatively normal. What does it mean for God to be sovereign? This is the question that has perhaps caused more controversy than any other. For John Calvin, God was completely sovereign. Nothing outside the will of God could take place, because everything that has taken place, is taking place, or will take place has been divinely ordained before time began. God is the source of all good, and evil cannot take place without His permission. According to Calvin, all of humankind are lost in their sins, and so depraved that they are incapable of finding salvation without God performing an inner miracle within them. This being said, God has elected to Himself a chosen people from the beginning of time, not off of merit, but sola gratia. In Chapter 17 of Book I of Calvin s Institutes of the Christian Religion, Calvin expounds upon how when it comes to Calvin s view of providence, nothing is more profitable than the knowledge of this ... Another big difference between the two songs is the instrumentals they have in them. In the Bradlee s version of Creep, the main instruments in it are a piano, a cello, a trombone and a saxaphone. This is part of a common line up of Jazz as stated by an article title Zydeco . It states, The most important and traditional instrument used in performing zydeco (Jazz) is the piano accordion. • 14. Maus Symbolism The graphic novel Maus by Art Spiegelman published in 1980 reinforces the ruthlessness of Nazis, painting them in a deplorable connotation. Set in World War II, the text supports this theorem through the author s use of symbolism, captions and facial expressions. Each convention conveys the callousness of Nazis towards Jews, evoking dismay from the readers. In the first panel, the long shot captures the full position of a Nazi soldier on a silhouetted horse, grasping a rifle in his hands, which symbolises violence. Clad in army attire, the soldier s upright posture exemplifies menace as his gaze is fixed upon a Jewish man hunched over a crate filled with rocks, seemingly too old or weak for such work , as quoted by the caption up top. Thus, the symbolism of the rifle and the Nazi s upright posture suggest power and authority in comparison to the mere shovel held by the Jewish man. Soseki may have been trying to reveal the dominant belief (as described above by Duus) may have not been the only sentiment of whites in Japanese society. In fact, Soseki may be trying to reveal there were Westerners who successfully accepted Japanese traditions and customs. The narrator s awe of this Westerner seems to reveal and highlight this point by his surprise that Westerners like this existed who were willing to adopt Japanese culture in a non threatening fashion. • 25. Sir Gawain And The Green Knight Summary Chapter 12 During the fourth chapter of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the journey towards the Green Chapel commences. Sir Gawain is escorted by a member of the Red Manor, who gives the knight a heed of warning. The escort offers advice to not travel to the Green Chapel, and if he chose this path, the escort would not tell of his fleeing. Sir Gawain thanks the escort for his warning but tells him that he has to keep his word, otherwise he would become a coward. The chapel was almost missed, if it not for Sir Gawain noticing a rounded hillock on the bank of a stream, near the bed of a torrent that tumbled there (Sir Gawain 2172 73). Sir Gawain entered the mound, which was the entrance to the chapel. Here, he met up with the Green Knight. This is where he reached the end of his quest and was destined to receive his blow to the neck. Sir Gawain moved away from the first attempt, which caused the Knight to suspect that he was not the true knight of the quest. After a dialogue was exchanged between the two, the Green Knight struck a blow to Sir Gawain, which only nicked his neck. The Green Knight told him that his wife was Morgan, whom Gawain spent time with in the Manor, and she was sent to test Gawain. The Green Knight called Sir Gawain one of the most perfect men who ever walked on the earth (Sir Gawain 2363). Sir Gawain replied in anger, saying that he was not a virtuous knight, therefore he doesn t deserve such a remark. Sir Gawain was sent back to Arthur s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Above is Atkinson s model of a flexible firm. He argued that firms increasingly seek 4 kinds of flexibility functional, numerical, pay, distancing. Functional flexibility is a qualitative approach to work, and refers to management s ability to deploy and redeploy particular sections of the workforce on a wide range of tasks in response to market demand as and when required (Sparrow 1998 cited in Teicher Holland 2006 p. 241 242). First of all, it is important that employers need to recognize that flexible work arrangements are not always appropriate for all people, jobs or industries. For example, if companies allow its service workers to arrive to work at different hours, customer service may suffer. Potential customers are forced to either wait or seek somewhere else. This also concerns manufacturers; many factory operations rely on employees to arrive at the same time, because they depend on each other for the smooth flowing of production. In its hard form it can also mean the intensification of work by redressing jobs to include a greater variety of low skilled tasks without any skill development (Teicher Holland 2006 p. 242) Critics also contend that flexible programs often leave managers in difficult situations. As Martha H. Peak wrote in Management Review (1994) Far too often, flex is embraced В… for its family friendly aspects long before the corporate support needed to manage it takes root. In these companies, flex policies are outlined in the employee manual but implementation is left up to individual managers. Then, when managers try to implement these programs, they discover that to be fair, flex requires them to treat different employees differently. In 1962, Robert Menzies, the prime minister of Australia at the time, sent Australian troops to fight in the Vietnam War. Menzies sent troops to Vietnam due to the fear and threat of communism affecting our geographical area through the domino theory, the foreign policy and treaties and alliances that Australia was a part of. One of the many reasons Robert Menzies sent troops to Vietnam War was due to the fear of communism throughout our Pacific area. The arrival of the 20th century brought with it a change in the policing environment from the spoils system of earlier days to a more inclusive environment for female and minority presence within officer ranks. Some of the problems that law enforcement agencies of the more recent times will have with attracting females and minorities into law enforcement agency careers comes from outside of the agencies, but the most important determining problems can come from within those agencies themselves such as fear of the race and gender discrimination from the likes of employers and co workers that makes females and minorities reluctant to join law enforcement agencies. Pressures of up 1000 bar can be achieved with UPLC, which is necessary to maintain shorter retention times. In UPLC smaller particles are used. These smaller particles provide a greater surface area of the stationary phase within the column, making the separation of the substances much more efficient. The state holds citizens in their respective classes, politically and economically, even though our nation is declared to be democratic. A critical analysis of our societal legal order, according to Quinney, must observe certain aspects of crime control in the capitalist state (Quinney 2001 262). First, a look into the nature of the state must be made. The state was designed as a system, which is designed to oppress lower classes. The second assessment is the determination of the relationship between the dominating economic class and the state, which is not distinguished between the ruling class and the state. The important questions posed in this aspect are to discover how the ruling class came to rule, and how the state governs in a way to maintain the inequalities. The SO has many different important purposes that are adversely affected by this procedure. Some of these side effects include: anemia, elevated white blood cell count, abnormal discomfort after eating, scaring of the Sphincter of Oddi, damage to surrounding organs and even death. All of these elements will be explained below in further detail. (CQUniversity, 2015) What is the Sphincter of Oddi? The Sphincter of Oddi is a construction... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If this new tissue is not flexible and is unable to preform the task required of the SO it will be detrimental to the surrounding organs such as the pancreas and more importantly the individual s health. The pancreas is responsible for releasing enzymes to aid in the digestion and absorption of food in the small intestine; it also creates hormones that regulate blood sugar levels. (Kathryn L. McCance, 2014)(NCBI, 2013) These enzymes travel through the pancreatic duct and out the Sphincter of Oddi into the Duodenum. If scar tissue is present at the SO it will be incapable of relaxing and allowing for pancreatic enzymes to pass through into the duodenum resulting in a backup of secretions. The overflow of secretions in the pancreas causes autodigestion (the digestion of the pancreas own tissues) resulting in inflammation. This autodigestion can then cause coagulative necrosis (cell death caused by ischemia and anemia), vascular damage, fat necrosis and the growth of pseudocysts (fluid filled sac in the wall of the pancreas). All of these abnormalities, injuries to the vessel walls, inflammation and coagulation malfunctions trigger an activation of leukocytes. These responses will cause vasodilation and hypotension resulting in shock. The later systemic effects of this can be respiratory arrest, cardiac failure, and renal failure ... • 46. Machiavelli The Father Of Modern Political Thought Summary Chasity L Wireman Dr. Michael A. Lazarus HIS 102 W1: Western Civilization II 10/25/2017 Machiavelli The Father of Modern Political Thought There are many reasons why Machiavelli is widely considered the beginner of modern political thought, one of the many is he studied strictly the politicians, and businessmen. Machiavelli recognized the political playing field as a vile place only for the most dominating and cunning of political giants. One of Machiavelli s most famous work, On Principalities, or known by the other title, The Prince, absolutely announced a break with previous political beliefs secured between moral and religion system, it examines the nature of his views on power that are still somewhat in existent today. Machiavelli discusses in this work power over the people, oppressive power, and shared power. Machiavelli discusses two specific groups of people such as the political elite and the general public within this work. While Machiavelli highlighted power over in relations between the political elite, he examines a different kind of power in the affiliation between a prince and his public. Machiavelli noted that he can share his power with his people, since he can trust his people more than he can the nobles. The nobles cannot be satisfied if their ruler acts honorably, because their desires are more ethical than the nobles are. The people are more forgiving and less greedy so he can place more trust in his people and empower his trusting public. Though the public may be more trustworthy Machiavelli also stated that a prince needed to be harsh in the treatment of both the mixed sectors and the new sectors to avoid rebellions, the prince must be harsh and cautious. It is easier for a prince to hold control after he has already stopped a rebellion by empowering his power. Once the prince takes control of the city, he cannot forget it, for his control can be easily lost. Without order within his own court let alone his public, the prince would soon fall and possible lose his control over everything. More or less how the prince started at the bottom and slowly made his way to becoming a great king or he died at the feet of his people or someone of higher power before reaching ... • 47. Anatomy And Physiology And Describe Their Subdivisions 1) Define anatomy and physiology and describe their subdivisions. Anatomy studies the structure of body parts and their relationships to one another. Body structures can be seen, felt, and examined closely. Gross, or macroscopic, anatomy: Study of large body structures visible to the naked eye, such as the heart, lungs and kidneys. Regional anatomy, all the structures (muscles, bones, blood vessels, nerves, etc.) in a particular region of the body, such as the abdomen or leg, are examined at the same time. Systemic anatomy Body structure is studied system by system. When studying the cardiovascular system, you would examine the heart and the blood vessels of the entire body. Surface anatomy Study of internal structures as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, bones can support and protect body organs because they contain hard mineral deposits. Blood flows in one direction through heart because heart has valves that prevent backflow. 3) Name the different levels of structural organization that make up the human body, and explain their relationships. 1. Chemical level atoms combine to form molecules. 2. Cellular level molecules, in turn, associate in specific ways to form organelles, basic components of the microscopic cells. Cells are smallest units of living things. 3. Tissue level Tissue are groups of similar cells that have a common function. The four basic tissue types: Epithelium covers body surfaces and lines its cavities. Muscle provides movement. Connective tissue supports and protects body organs. Nervous tissue provides a means of rapid internal communication by transmitting electrical impulses. 4. Organ level Organs are made up of different types of tissues. Organ is a discrete structure composed of at least two tissue types that performs a specific function for the body. 5. Organ system level Organs that work together to accomplish a common purpose make up an organ system. 6. Organismal level represents the sum total of all structural levels working together to keep us alive. Contains organism, the living human being. 4) List the 11 organ systems of the body, identify their components, and briefly explain the major functions of each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. It s Time To Procrastinate In High School My entire high school career has been pushing off assignments until the very last minute. Even this paper has been pushed off until late hours of the night. It has been a problem for a long time, but I have been reluctant to do anything about it. In high school it is easy to procrastinate because there will always be people to sympathise with you. Getting on a different sleep schedule is the first thing I am attempting to become less of a procrastinator. Recently, IOS implemented a new app to the iphone to help people get to sleep earlier: I have been using this app to my advantage. My laziness is like a ticking time bomb, if I am not careful I will go into college with bad habits and an attitude that will make it almost impossible for me to succeed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only is being lazy about school work not good for my grades, Ralph Waldo Emerson says it is also keeping me for being happy and living with less stress. There are various ways I have started to prepare for college and become less lazy. I am going to start studying some of my tougher subjects even if I do not have a test or quiz the next day. This is a very easy task because it only takes 30 minutes out of my day, but it is a good habit to get into. A bad habit I need to get out of is taking naps in the middle of my day whether it be after school or at five o clock on a weekend. Consequently these naps make me feel awful and unproductive after and cause me to go to sleep later than I had intended that night. Also forcing me to take another nap the next day in an on going cycle. Being ready for college is going to take much more preparation than these things, but with one and a half more years to accomplish my goal is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Japanese American Paranoia In the early 1940 s and as the war progressed, the treatment and perception of Japanese Americans, most of the western parts, like California, got progressively worse. The prejudice against the Japanese steamed from the treatment of the Chinese in America and how they provided cheap labor for the United States, cheating regular Americans out of their jobs. Once the Japanese started to have a significant demographic in California, concern swept across Americans once again, fearing cheap labor and lack of jobs once more. As tensions grew, the American paranoia of a Japanese invasion/revolt also increased. Once the American government decided that they would relocate all of the Japanese Americans to a safer sight, to prevent any spies from... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It took over a decade for the American Congress to show approval for every surviving person from the camp to receive $20,000 in compensation. Although they did receive some form of an apology, it was still over ten years late and did not heal the emotional wounds of these people. A survivor of the internment camp, John Tateishi stated in an interview that he was humiliated when he came back from the camps. We came out of these camps with a sense of shame and guilt, of having been considered betrayers of our country. (John ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
