E. Subject Materials
SIMPLE THREE-DIMENSIONAL SHAPE
Cuboid Cube Cylinder Cone Sphere
There are terms in three-dimensional shape, namely sides, edges, and vertices.
Vertex
Edge
Titik Sudut
Side
2. • Side is a field or surface that limits the three-dimensional shape.
• Edge is a line that connects two sides of the three-dimensional shape.
• Vertex is the meeting point of three edges in the three-dimensional shape.
PROPERTIES OF THE CUBE
Name the sides, edges, and vertices of the cube ABCD.EFGH.
1) The sides of the cube are:
• ABCD
• ABFE
• ADHE
• EFGH
• DCGH
• BCGF
So, the cube has 6 sides. The sides of the cube are squares of the same size.
2) The edges of the cube are:
• AB
• EF
• HG
• DC
• BC
• FG
• EH
• AD
• AE
• BF
• CG
• DH
So, the cube has 12 edges. The edges of the cube are the same length.
3) The vertices of the cube are:
• A
• B
• C
• D
• E
• F
• G
• H
So, the cube has 8 vertices.
Desinition: Cube is a three-dimensional shape bounded by six squares of the same
size.

3. PROPERTIES OF THE CUBOID
Name the sides, edges, and vertices of the cuboid ABCD.EFGH.
1) The sides of the cuboid are:
• ABCD
• ABFE
• ADHE
• EFGH
• DCGH
• BCGF
So, the cuboid has 6 sides. Which is:
ABCD = EFGH
BCFG = ADHE
ABFE = DCGH
2) The edges of the cuboid are:
• AB
• EF
• HG
• DC
• BC
• FG
• EH
• AD
• AE
• BF
• CG
• DH
So, the cuboid hal 12 edges. Which is:
AB = EF = HG = DC
BC = FG = EH = AD
AE = BF = CG = DH
3) The vertices of the cuboid are:
• A
• B
• C
• D
• E
• F
• G
• H
So, the cuboid has 8 vertices.
Definition: Cuboid is a three-dimensional shape bounded by three pairs of rectangles
where each pair of rectangles is parallel and equal in size.

4. CUBE NET AND CUBOID NET
Cube and cuboid are formed from square and rectangular. The combination of several
square that from a cube is called a cube net. While the cuboid net is a combination
of several rectangles that from a cuboid.
Example:

G. Teaching – Learning Process
Phases Activities
Opening
(10 Minutes)
1. The teacher greeting all the students.
2. The teacher and students pray to start learning.
3. The teacher checking the attendance of students.
4. The teacher gives apperception by asking: “Do
you still remember learning about squares and
rectangles? What is meant by two-dimensional
shape?”
5. The teacher conveys the learning objectives.
Main
(40 Minutes)
1. Students observe and identify simple three-
dimensional shape.
2. Students carefully listen to the teacher’s
explanation of the terms side, edges, and vertex.
3. Students with teacher’s guidance mention
properties of the cube.
4. Students and teacher conclude the meaning of
the cube.
5. 5. Students with teacher’s guidance mention
properties of the cuboid.
6. Students and teacher conclude the meaning of
the cuboid.
7. Students carefully listen to the teacher’s
explanation about the nets of cube and cuboid.
8. Students are given individual assignments.
Closed
(10 Minutes)
1. The teacher asks students about today’s lesson.
2. Students are then given the opportunity to ask
