1. Love Of Mother Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of a mother's love is both a challenging and deeply rewarding
endeavor. The complexity lies not in the scarcity of material but in the abundance of emotions
and sentiments associated with this profound subject. Attempting to encapsulate the multifaceted
nature of a mother's love within the confines of an essay requires a delicate balance between
personal anecdotes, universal truths, and the artful use of language.
To embark on this journey, one must navigate the intricacies of expressing the ineffable bond
between a mother and her child. The challenge lies in conveying the depth of emotions, the
sacrifices made, and the unwavering support that defines a mother's love. Striking the right
chord between sentimentality and objectivity is no easy feat, as one navigates the fine line
between admiration and analysis.
Furthermore, the topic demands a nuanced exploration of cultural, social, and historical
dimensions, adding layers to the narrative. It is not merely an account of personal experiences
but a reflection on the broader implications and significance of maternal love in various contexts.
The endeavor to encapsulate such a profound and universal concept within the limited space of
an essay requires precision, clarity, and a keen awareness of the impact of every word chosen.
Yet, despite the challenges, writing about the love of a mother is an enriching experience. It
provides an opportunity to delve into the depths of human connection, to celebrate the
selflessness of maternal love, and to explore the intricacies of the human experience. It is an
invitation to articulate emotions that often transcend language, making it both a formidable and
gratifying task.
In conclusion, while the difficulty of writing an essay on the love of a mother is undeniable, the
process is a labor of love in itself. It is an exploration that not only hones one's writing skills but
also allows for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the profound subject matter. For
those seeking assistance in such endeavors, it's worth noting that a plethora of resources,

3. Restaurant And Thanksgiving Restaurant
During the Thanksgiving season the Hospitality industry is in the middle of one of
their busiest times of the year. This is the truest for restaurants and hotels, as many
people gather around with family and go out to dinner more often, or when family
flies into town and stays in a hotel. This busy time of year shows many of the same
patterns annually, as well as cause some problems along the way.
Every year the restaurant industry experiences many more and larger groups of
people around the Thanksgiving holiday. These larger groups make management a
little more difficult as traditionally, food takes a little longer, service is more
rushed, and everyone including employees and customers are a little on edge.
However, people are escaping the stress of Thanksgiving dinner by letting the
restaurants do all the work. A study showed that in 2011 six percent of those
surveyed said they planned to eat out for Thanksgiving. Of the people who eat
Thanksgiving at home in 2017, 9 percent said they would pick up parts of their
meals, and four percent said they d buy a complete meal. That means nearly one in
four diners are not going to do all the work of fixing Thanksgiving dinner. In another
survey thirty one percent said they d eat in a restaurant where they traditionally go
on Thanksgiving Day. Thirty percent said they d go to a restaurant that they use for
special occasions. Lastly, twenty one percent are going to a restaurant where they are
regulars. The last reason for so many

Predictions are the hardest part of tracking tornadoes, meteorologists and atmospheric
scientists predict tornadoes through the measurement of temperature, air speed and

scientists study the weather and climate and how it may affect us humans. To predict
storms and tornadoes, most meteorologist use special equipment such as weather
balloons, radars, and satellites to gather information about the tornado/storm. With the
data given from the equipment, meteorologist are able to predict storm paths. When
using equipment like the doppler radar, scientists have to identify if tornadoes may

A rain free base is a dark cumulous cloud base with no precipitation below it, rain
free bases usually mark the updraft of a thunderstorm. An inflow band is when low
cumulus clouds start to outstretch from the storm, when this usually happens, the
storm will be starting to gather low level winds from about 7 miles away, this
shows that there may be a swirling motion happening. A beaver tail cloud is a flat
cloud that usually expands from the east edge of a rain free base, if the flat cloud
goes around the south edge of the rain free base, this may pose as a swirling
motion. What is a wall cloud? Well, a wall cloud is a cloud that is lowering while
connected to the rain free base. Wall clouds produce tornadoes that can last up to
10 20 minutes. A condensation funnel is made up of drops of water and once it
starts to extend down from the base of the thunderstorm, if ever it touches the
ground it forms into a tornado, if not, it is still a regular funnel. A rear flank
downdraft is a rush of air that s going down behind the storm that descends with a
tornado. The rear flank downdraft causes the hook echo on a doppler radar. For a
funnel cloud to form, a convection of hot air has to set a motion within the clouds to

6. When Chickenheads Come Home To Roost Analysis
The theories of Black feminist thought, hip hop feminism and intersectionality
allow for a thorough analysis of Black girls and women of the hip hop generation.
The self definitions of Black women and girls are internalized, manipulated and
influenced by various systems of oppression including sexism, racism, and
heterosexism, among others. Rather than being told by, and being expressed by,
Black women and girls, their narrative representations have relied on stereotypes
and extreme portrayals in media, such as in commercial rap music. By using the
varying lenses of the prior theories, one can expose the complex relationships
between systems of oppression and how power shapes the portrayal of one s identity
throughout the years and over decades,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hip hop feminism expands on Collin (1990) s concept of varied experience.
Throughout her book, When chickenheads come home to roost, Joan Morgan
defines what hip hop feminism is, why it is needed, and its potential impact and
empowering qualities for Black women and girls growing up in the post civil
rights and post feminism era. The emergence of technologies and media has
influenced how Black women and girls view themselves, as well as how others
view them, and how they can create and spread their narratives. While commercial
hip hop detaches from women s rights and permits misogyny, one s use of hip hop
as an art form in itself can be politically and self empowering for Black women and
girls. She also illustrates how the image and internalization of the
strongblackwomen has been devised from slavery, yet still holds a presence and
impacts the health of Black women. Black women uphold this identity built by an
oppressive system. They are defined by their oppressor, and Morgan challenges the
adherence to its standards. Black women perpetuate and adhere to this myth of the
Black superwoman by internalizing the belief that they should be able to handle any
life crisis alone and with
7. Lord Of The Flies Moral Analysis
In the novel, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, a group of school boys get
stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash. Not a single grown up made it to
the island and the world is filled with war. As the protagonist Ralph and a boy
called Piggy meet each other on the island, they find a conch shell which they use
to make a noise and attract the attention of the other boys. When everyone got
assembled, the boys decided to elect Ralph as their leader. Ralph elects the
antagonist of the novel, Jack, to be in charge of hunting. A small group of the boys
explore the island and make the decision to light a signal fire, in case ships pass by
the island, using Piggy s spectacles. The fire engulfs the forrest due to the boys not

Simultaneously, this theme is the message the author aims to convey with his
novel. The boys tried to make their own rules in their microcosm which didn t
work. The boys turned from ordinary school boys to people who torture and kill.
They became that way, as they did not have law and morals which would cause
their innate evil to get ahold of the boys. I think what I learned from the novel and
what the message the author want to get across is, that really we can t tell if we
are the way we are because civilization taught us to be that way and actually we are
evil by nature or wether we are peaceful by nature. What we know for sure though
is that society and civilization teach us rules and morals which we learn to live by.
This point makes the novel more complex as it makes you realize the bigger
picture of how the microcosm of the island could be transferred to everyone and
everything. One very important symbol throughout the novel is the conch, as it
symbolizes civilization and rules. This is because the boys used the conch as a tool
to create order, by establishing the rule that you were only allowed to speak if and
when you were holding the conch. The destruction of the conch at the end of the
novel symbolizes the complete loss of control within the boys
8. Difference Between Fashion And Fashion
In the Oxford English Dictionary, fashion is defined as the production and
marketing of new styles of goods, especially clothing and cosmetics but in reality
what is fashion? Many of us have seen runways and elite fashion shows in the
media; we have even dreamed of sitting next to fashion icons like Anna Wintour and
Rihanna while enjoying said shows. Many of us have also shopped in our favorite
stores and noticed how different our clothingmay be from what we see on the
runway. Why is that you ask? The answer is simple: fashionis a complex entity that
can be split into two vastly different categories: high fashion and streetwear. Though
high fashion and streetwear are seemingly merging into one style of design and
production, the two have different backgrounds, sources of inspiration, price points
and intended audiences
High fashion is comprised of two categories: haute couture and prГЄt Г porter (ready
to wear). In World of Art: The Thames Hudson Dictionary of Fashion and Fashion
Designers, haute couture is defined as high quality fashion design and construction.
This kind of clothing is usually one of a kind and custom fit; official haute couture
brands are determined by the trade union Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture,
which produces a list of brands that fit into its criteria. Before the emergence of ready
to wear garments in the latter half of the twentieth century, fashion was an art that
only the wealthy could afford to indulge in. However, during the late
9. Humanity Exposed In Joseph Conrad s Heart Of Darkness
In Joseph Conrad s racially and ethnically charged book Heart of Darkness more
questions about the barbarity of humans are raised than answered. Conrad manages
to showcase Europeans lack of civility by creating a world where prejudice and
ignorance toward the African people run rampant. Protagonist Charles Marlowleaves
England to go to the Congo to work in trade. Before Marlow s departure, a British
Doctor posits that when people go to Africathey become mentally and emotionally
challenged. He further states that some people who go to Africa do not ever come
back because they become mad. Marlow is the voice of the Europeans as a collective

Black shadows of disease and death effectively takes away the humanness of the

person. The colonial perspective on the Africans was extreme and unforgiving. are
they are not human because the Europeans haven t seen a person with black skin
they think they re different and have ignorant views on them. They judge them

structures. Cannibals...after all they did not eat each other before my face. (p.42)
Marlow sees them hungry and is wondering why aren t they eating each other s
faces in front of me. As human instinct if you have a lot of hunger you would go to
extreme means to get your source of food. This proves the thesis because they

actually capable to do as they did before they were colonized before the Europeans.
Black figures strolled about listlessly, pouring water on the glow. (p.30) Marlow
describes the Black men as objects rather than men or what he would classify white
people (men, woman, boy and girl). This shows Conrad s perspective on the
Europeans to be ignorant and racist against the Africans because they judged them
based on what they looked like but on who they

This is an interesting topic. I remembered that there was a piece of advertisement
about spring water. It says We are not the producer of water but the transporter of
nature spring water . I don t think this word can make sense in today s world. As
many factories are built in the remote places, the industrial emission pollutes our
waterways, ground water and drinking water.
I d like to provide another resource about how hazardous coal ash is to water and
health. It provides additional information about coal ash and its problems. Most coal

11. Dynamic Character
Written by Charles Dickens, the novel Great Expectations teaches readers the true
value of a gentleman which is based on moral character, not on materials portraying
wealth and status. Materials are not relied on for happiness, as it does not guarantee
positivity. Throughout the novel, the static and dynamic characters demonstrate
characterization by perceiving those who changed their views on gentlemen, while
the internal and external conflicts determine plot by informing the readers on what a
characteris going through. Dickens message is seen through the important characters
in the novel, such as Pip and Joe. To begin with, Dickens uses characterization to
deliver his message to the characters. As a gentleman is portrayed by Joe, he is a
static character that remains humble and modest until the end. As Pip describes
him, Joe is a mild, good natured, sweet tempered, easy going, foolish, dear fellow a
sort of Hercules in strength, and also in weakness (14). He is an optimistic and

Pip experiences major external and internal conflicts. One significant external
conflict is shown between him and Estella. Because Pip has the title of a

be her spouse. He thinks of himself as a knight that is eligible to complete the
deeds, which is to bring happiness to Estella, the princess. Because of his elevated
position, he is confident about Estella s love for him. Nevertheless, Estella cold
heartedly rejects Pip s love, allowing him to fully mature and profoundly view
gentleman as it not being about status or having valuable possessions. He is aware
of Estella s strong defiance and knows that she must be out of [his] thoughts! [She]

12. Jesus Is A Great Teacher, Leader, My Savior
Belief Statement
I believe that Jesus is a great teacher, leader and ultimately my Savior. A great teacher
has many characteristics such as patience, kindness, is understanding, and uses
different techniques to help his/her students understand what is being taught and how
to apply it to their life. Jesus does this better than anyone I know. A good leader
knows how to listen and lead a group in an effective way in addition to knowing
when to follow is key to success. Jesus did this in his ministry as well. Lastly and
most important, I believe that Jesus is my savior. I believe that God created this
universe and everything in it. He created everything exactly how he intended it for
us, but we distorted and separated ourselves from God when Adam and Eve sinned.
My sin separates me from God, but God wants a personal relationship with me. He
sent himself incarnate in humble human form. This form was Jesus, he full God
and full man. He was humbled in that form to live the perfect like I cannot to bridge
that gap I created. My sin sentenced me to hell, but Jesus life, death, and resurrection
defeated the eternal death I deserve and Satan himself. I believe in Christ alone, not
by my works, gives me new life. I am a new creation trough him, he saved me from
my punishment.
Practice Statement
I am a called child of God to share the gospel. God has worked through many
experiences, different people over time, and has given me certain gifts that has led me

Not only was the southern border under dispute, the northern border between
Canada and the U.S. was under dispute as well. The Treaty of 1818 called for a

for short amounts of time. The debate on slavery was also short term.
Spain and Russia had surrendered their claims to the region, but the United States

resolution was delayed by the Anglo American Convention of 1818, in which both
parties agreed to a temporary policy of joint occupation of the region. This

Each are able to achieve their indirect social purposes to educate the audience about
these problems with similar devices but with different ones as well.
Williams employs the use of outer dialogue in order to achieve his social purpose on

individual and society as they can feel the pain that Larry has experienced because of

According to identitytheft.info, almost 15 million Americans have their identity used
fraudulently due to information leaks and information insecurities. With the growing
dependency on computer systems to store confidential information across the world,
it is only necessary that that the information be protected by strong securitysystems
which include both hardware and software so that both the businesses and the

Contemporary Information securitysystems use many different components involving

Primarily, User Access Control or UAC systems are combinations of identification,
authentication, and authorization that helps restrict users to what information they
can access in a database system with certain read and write rights. Most of the
identification systems operate by using a simple serial ID followed by an identity
challenge such as a password (Blanding F. 2004). UAC is the most fundamental
access control technology as without it, there cannot be further information systems.
Within the UAC system, the system administrator designates users rights and

administrator is the primary local account that authorized personnel can use to create
system logins for users with certain privileges. It most cases, the administrator is only
responsible for creating the username , often designated as the
18. Media s Influence On Society
Media plays an important and influential role in society. The media effects so
many different institutions throughout a society that researchers have began to
wonder how the media is really effecting these processes. Over the years many
models have been developed to explain this process. The models that I will look at,
include the hypodermic model, the mass society theory, the minimal effects
model, and the agenda setting and priming model. Before looking at these models,
we must first look at some of the challenges researchers ran into while trying to
understand the media effect. Many researchers believed that media had influence
on the public, but did not change or have an effect on what the public believed in.
However this was false statement, This idea contrasted sharply with the public s
general perception that media play a very influential role in society. There are three
major reasons for this gap in perceptions (Graber 2009a). The first reason for this
misperception was because of how narrow researchers looked at the effects on media
issues. An example of this is when researchers looked at voters and whether certain
media exposure would alter their vote. They concluded that there was no media
influence, but the catch was that these studies were conducted during a time when
party loyalty was very strong. This would be an important factor in the reasons why
media did not influence the publics vote. To gain a better understanding researchers
should have,

20. Database Security And Protection, Sql Injection...
Database security and protection is a significant concern for organizations across the
world, evidenced by the number of reported incidents with regards to unauthorized
exposure to sensitive information. As the amount of data that organizations collect,
retain and share continues to escalate, so does the importance of having a strong
databasesecurity. The Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, a website that keeps track of
data breaches that were reported by companies, according to its research more than
159 million records were breached in 2015 through the course of 226 separate
breach events. With the loss of unprotected data, can result in steep expenses for a
company such as legal fees, call centers, customer losses, and the ambiguous
amount of bad publicity. A Forrester Research survey concluded that an average
security breach can cost a company between $90 and $305 per lost record. Given the
increase number of data breaches, there is a corresponding need to properly plan
ways to better protect and monitor the database systems through access control, SQL
injection prevention, and encryption of data.
Access control allows specific users either privileges or restriction of access to
objects in a database system. A Data Base Administrator (DBA) must take in specific
consideration pertaining to which users can see what tables, and perform certain data
actions among those specific tables. Access control can be defined in three ways:
Mandatory Access Control (MAC), Discretionary

there are carefully plotted for optimal use. Foot and cart traffic, fire hazard, and
access to water were all key factors in city planning. Eventually the Romans had fine
tuned their design principals in such an advantageous way that they molded all of
their citystates similarly. Rome developed from the combination of small farming
communities around a hilltop fortification. The city, which was founded before
regularized city planning, consisted of a confusing maze of crooked and gnarled
streets. The focal point of which was the city s forum, the main meeting place and...

Roman temples were not only built in the forum, but throughout the city and
countryside too. The placement of temples were many times left open to the whims
of the wealthy financier. (Nicholas, 9)
In Rome, the majority of citizens lived in insulae, street front shops and workshops
with living quarters behind and above them, which together comprised a city block
encasing an open courtyard. These crudely constructed dwellings were often part of
densely populated neighborhood just outside the city s center and many times

lacked sanitary basics such as running water, lavatories, or heat, and were
dangerously constructed of wood and brick В— making them vulnerable to fire, and
liable to collapse. (Discovery Channel) Augustus limited the height of insulae to no
more than five stories. Later, Nero imposed fire regulations because of their
penchant for facilitating the spread of flame due to their close proximity to one
another across roads. At the time Rome s fire fighters employed a chain of men
passing buckets of water to deliver onto the fire. (Morris, 44)
Nero, after a large fire in 64 AD, tried to rebuild the city in a more planned manner.
However, Even the disastrous fire had not given the town planners space enough to
provide their Metropolis with the regularity and ease of communications which the
city so desperately needed. The fire had left only four of Rome s regions untouched;

22. Reasons Why The Treaty Of Versailles Led To World War II
The Treaty of Versailles helped start World War II in many ways. It made Germany
take responsibility for the war. Germany was forced to sign the treaty and if they

but he signed it anyways. Later, the German army invaded Poland, which led to the

ЂЁвЂЁOne reason why the Treaty of Versaillesled to World

pay all damages of the war and pay reparations as well. The citizens of Germany
didn t understand why Hitler signed it. He signed it because Germany would be
invaded if they didn t. This made the Germans mad, which made Adolf Hitlermad as

23. Should Women Be Allowed In Combat
Women in Combat
Countries across the globe have engaged in war since their very start; however,
women have not been allowed full rights in combat; they have often been excluded
or sheltered. Women formerly had little to no rights in war; however, over time they
developed some rights ( History ). Since the 1940s, the combat exclusion policy has
not allowed for women to take on front line combat or have the opportunity to gain
certain leadership or ranked positions (
Women s Actions). Many feel this excludes women from having a full opportunity
in combat and does not allow for proper career advancement (Service Women). Men
look at women as weaker or less than them when it comes to combat, but if they meet
the physical requirements then they should be allowed equal employment (Koren).
Women should be allowed to engage in active combat to ensure equality and give
service opportunities; women have proven themselves to be physically, mentally and
morally capable of carrying out such duties ( Women ).
The history of women in combat is somewhat controversial; and women have always
seeked equality in combat and military forces (Women s Actions). Women have been

Certain exclusion policies shown about the women make it unable for them to

to advance, be recruited or gain promotions in the forces they must lift certain
policies that enable that to occur (Service Women). Some rules and policies exclude
women from being generals or being able to be put into ranked positions, which can
be seen as unfair. Women should be allowed equal employment opportunities for all

24. Coronary Artery Disease ( Cad )
INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND
Coronary artery disease (CAD; also more simply referred to as coronary heart
disease) is a specific type of atherosclerosis, which is in turn a form of
arteriosclerosis (Dulson, Fraser, LeDrew, Vavitas, 2011). All of these medical
conditions entail the same problem, which hinders proper blood flow of oxygenated
blood in the arteries: the sclerosis (that is, hardening) of arteries in the circulatory
system (Sclerosis [medicine], 2016). Arteriosclerosis is a general term used to
describe the stiffening of arteries particularly resulting from the process of mere
ageing, but may also occur due to the presence of other aspects such as hypertension
and/or the accumulation of plaque in and/or on the arterial walls, which consists of
numerous components including lipids (cholesterol in particular), calcium, and other
substances present within the bloodstream; atherosclerosis is specifically associated
with plaque buildup in the arteries (if it occurs in one of the coronary arteries,
which supply oxygenated blood to the myocardial tissue itself, it is further
classified as CAD) (Difference between arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis, 2014;
Dulson et al., 2011). CAD is a common, serious condition that may be fatal; hence, it
is imperative that one understands the pathology, diagnosis, and treatment of this
disease in order to help decrease its prevalence. This report is concerned with
explaining the physiological effects of CAD on the body, latter day
25. The Great Warming By Brian Fagan
The Great Warming by Brian Fagan claims that environmental changes (most
commonly prolonged droughts, El NiГ±os, and La NiГ±as during the Medieval
Warm Period) affect human civilization, including human s trading abilities, overall
movement, and quality of life. He examines the world s ancient climate warming,
known as the Medieval Warming, between the 10th and the 15th centuries, also
mentioning the preceding and succeeding centuries. Fagan gathers his research using
studies conducted by archaeologists, historians, and paleoclimatologists. Throughout
his book, he refers to direct methods to study climate change, such as instrument
records and historical documents, and indirect methods, such as ice, deep sea cores,
coral records, and tree rings. Fagan digs into the rise and fall of multiple civilizations
around the world as an effect of The Medieval Warming Period. As well as examining
civilizations across the world, he attempts to connect the climate change patterns
during The Medieval Warming Period to the current global warmingfaced today. The
Great Warming discusses positive and negative connections between climate change
and human civilizations across the world, starting in Europe and working its way
into Asia, North America, South America, Africa, and even covering the arctic ice
caps; however, throughout the book, Fagan has a hard time connecting his various
ideas back to one main topic and can easily stray from his point about the effects of
climate change.

26. Attraction Vs. Love In The Book Of Ruth
One inevitable area in life that we all crave and want is some sort of love and
attraction. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, attraction is feelings that an
individual, whether that is romantically or sexually, in another person. Society today
typically sees attraction as strictly physical more so than common similarities
between the two. Although physical attraction is important in a relationship, that is
not all. The book of Ruthshows that there is more to love and attraction then just
good looks. In the book of Ruth, focusing on the right man or right woman is
discovering the attraction and love that is formed within relationships. In the book of
Ruth it focuses on love, attraction, and faithfulness.
Throughout the book of Ruth, we hear about her quest to find the right man that
suits her. Ruth searching for the right man shows us to what extent God will help
fulfill her wants and needs in a relationship. Now, for a little background, Ruth had
married Naomi s son, Mahlon, making Naomi her mother in law. Mahlon and Ruth
had been married for 10 years before he went against the word of the Lord and died.
Naomi and Ruth were widowers, which forced Ruth to get a job as a gleaner due to

According to Wood (2014), the attraction phase involves much more than just being
physically attracted to one another. Other attractions include: values, skills, abilities,
talents, and ambitions. Wood states that attraction is not all kissing, touching, and
burning passion for one another, but claims that those behaviors are more of a sense
of lust that a majority of the population cares about looks before similarity. However,
as stated earlier, Boaz noticed Ruth and thought she was the most beautiful woman he
had ever seen. We are all about the superficial outlook, which is how attraction

27. Isaac Asimov s Three Laws Of Robotics
1.1Introduction to Robotics
Robotics is a branch of engineering that involves the conception, design, manufacture,
and operation of robot s. This field overlaps with electronics, computer science,
artificial intelligence, mechatronics, nanotechnology, and bioengineering.
Science fiction author Isaac Asimov is often given credit for being the first person
to use the term robotics in a short story composed in the 1940s. In the story, Asimov
suggested three principles to guide the behavior of robots and smart machines.
Asimov s Three Laws of Robotics, as they are called, have survived to the present:
1. Robots must never harm human beings.
2. Robots must follow instructions from humans without violating rule 1.
3. Robots must protect themselves without violating the other rules.
Robot is defined as a mechanical design that is capable of performing human tasks or
behaving in a human like manner. Building a robot requires expertise and complex
programming. It s about building systems and putting together motors, flame sensors
and wires, among other important components. A fire... Show more content on

Civic Engagement: The University as a Public Good In Nancy Cantor s Civic
Engagement: The University as a Public Good, she argues that universities should be
culturally diverse, socially innovating, and models of a community that should be
seen around the world. According to Cantor this can only happen through liberal
learning, building sustained exchanges, creating exchanges across the boundaries of
race and ethnicity, and creating experiments of exchange for universities to try on
their campuses. Cantor used a quote from AAC U that states in its Statement on
Liberal Learning: Liberal learning is society s best investment in our shared future.
She agreed with this statement and added that the best way for society to fulfill
dreams of shared, productive, and harmonious future is to maintain the universities as
a public good. In college, Cantor stated, that instructors should be able to educate
citizens that will not be complacent when faced with social norms, but instead will
take the initiative in shaping our diverse democracy. The college should make the
students believe that it is a safe haven for those who come from different
backgrounds, races, and ethnic groups.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In 10 years, it is believed that the electric car will slowly start to push the gasoline
/petrol vehicle to the curb, and it will do it with style and swagger. In this ever
growing age of technology and advancement, more and more people are either
looking very seriously into or have already transitioned from ICE (internal
combustion engine) vehicles. The transition is seemingly a slow one for the
majority of the public and although it is understandable, it is also inevitable.
Combustion engine vehicles have been around for over a century and have
dominated the car industry greatly. The reliance on ICE engines can be visible in
any direction someone turns, walking through the streets of any city. The mindset
that ICE rules, and is the only efficient and viable method of transportation is
slowly being replaced by the ever decreasing well of fossil fuels and oil on earth. Oil
has been the spine of the Earth and the gasoline car, it s pumping heart.
There are many reasons that more and more people are turning to electric. Some of
the advantages are:
Higher efficiency by as much as 400 to 600 percent over an internal combustion
engine
No polluting byproducts because this car gets its power from batteries, the wind or
the sun
Three times as efficient as gas engines
Is extremely safe
Gets better mileage than any other car on the road
Quiet to drive
Convenient
Durable
Although everyone has his or her personal motivations to owning and driving electric,

More Than Thrones Do not pick a favorite character; that is the best advice any fan
of Game of Thrones could give. Game of Thrones is an award winning television
show that first aired in 2011, and has just completed its seventh season. The show is
based on fantasy novels created by the author George R.R. Martin, who also
contributes to the show as a producer and scriptwriter. Game of Thrones takes place
mainly in the fantasy continent known as Westeros, filled with seven kingdoms
under one monarch. Some families fight for survival, others fight for the Iron
Throne. Then across the sea, on the continent of Essos, the previous heir to the
throne of a usurped dynasty plan to take back their rightful throne. Meanwhile, a
supernatural and ancient army returns to Westeros in order to destroy the living.
With its profound symbolism, stunning cinematography, and complex storyline,
Game of Thrones has set the bar extremely high for television. Nearly every aspect
of Game of Thrones holds a greater meaning. Whether it be the house s sigil or the
actions of the characters. For example, one of the favorite families, the Starks, have
a grey direwolf against a white background. The wolf is the family s sigil and it
seems to look like armor which represents the willingness to fight and their
determination to persevere against all adversity. The white background stands for
their readiness for the harsh winters and the attacks

Begins
As we move further and further into a more technological age, lines begin to blur
between where tech savvyness ends and where being a Geek begins. I have been
working with computers since I was 8 years old. I remember the good old days
where I would sit there with my dad watching him play Zork for hours on end. In
fact that game is one of the reasons I started writing. This was in the mid to late 80
s and the machines had no hard drives and ran completely off of 5 1/4 inch floppy
disk s. This was all fun and games, but I didn t learn much from the experience. I
did however learn to maneuver through the DOS operating system as well as how
to execute programs. My real experience didn t start till around June of 1992. I live
in the San Bernardino California area. If you know any history of the area, in June
1992 there was a massive 7.3 earthquake that shook San Bernardino quite harshly.
Shopping malls all around the area had the roofs cave in. This was a great tragedy
but for us a great learning experience. Because of the earthquake the malls were
forced to send all of their computer equipment to the land fills for insurance
purposes, wither they were damaged or not. This is where my real experience
started. My father brought home three PC s that looked more like junk than
computers. With a bit of elbow grease we were able to salvage parts from one of the
PC s and get the other two working. The obviously more powerful PC my dad
decided to keep for himself and I got

34. All The Queen s Children Essay
Dr. Carole Levin outlines the aspects of Queen Elizabeth I s social perception as
mother of her nation and the Virgin Queen in her article All the Queen s Children:
Elizabeth I and the Meaning of Motherhood. I agree with Levin s analysis of
Elizabeth s use of her public image as a political tool in the examples she gives, and I
extend her argument to Elizabeth s speeches and writings. Levin argues that the
inflammatory topic of Elizabeth s virginityand rumored children plagued her because
she was a powerful woman. Virginity and motherhood are both states of purity:
motherhood is a purity of love, and virginity is a purity of sexuality and spirituality.
Both of these traits are ideal in the traditional model of womanhood, but not seen as...

I believe Levin is correct in emphasizing Elizabeth s maturity in handling the
irrationality of the public, and I add that one of Elizabeth s tactics to maintain her
image was publishing her poetry. Elizabeth s poem On Monsieur s Departure not
only garners sympathy from readers, but also works in her favor as a ruler. Instead
of portraying herself as rigid and rejecting marriage entirely, Elizabeth humanizes
herself to the public by writing about the pain of a lost love. Revealing her
romantic emotions while ultimately never marrying conveys a clear message to her
subjects: Elizabeth will only marry if it is beneficial or necessary to them, even if it
hurts her heart to refuse. Elizabeth reveals her pain when she does not marry the
subject of the poem because it was not in the kingdom s best interest, and plays to
stereotypes about women s emotional and romantic nature, supporting Levin s
observation of her social

Anyone who has attended a live football game knows how commercial time outs slow
the game and sometimes, at its most exciting moments, disrupt the flow of events.
There is no doubt that without television definitely would not stay the same in the
homes and hearts of Americans. Also, without the money from advertising, the teams
couldn t afford the sky high salaries of their superstars.
Soccer, on the other hand, except for its halftime break, has no time outs and is
constant run, run, run, back and forth, relentlessly, with only a few seconds of
relaxation when a goal is scored, and that happens two or 3 times in a normal game,
sometimes never scoring in a game. The best that commercial television can hope for
is an injury timeout and that is only when a player is very seriously injured.
Another reason is Americans love their violence, and soccer doesn t have the violence
that American football and soccer have. There is some violence, yes, but Americans
can t expect the the bone crushing hits in football, and the knockout punch fights in
hockey, game after game. In soccer, players are actually singled out and warned with
embarrassing yellow cards for acts of violence

Here comes the end of this semester, and I really want to reflect on my overall
performance through this course and set goals for future. In the past three months, I
feel like I have accomplished a lot not only as a student but also as a speaker. From
all the speeches I did this semester including Grab Bag Speech, My Path Interview,
Career Path Presentation, Rhetorical Analysis Activity, Pitch Speech, Story

showed a big progress. In addition, Professor Khalil taught me a very important
thing which is knowing people well, which allows me to be more confident and
relaxed while doing a speech. I think I improved a lot from the beginning to the end,
and I am pleased with my overall delivery in the IDEA Speech. However, there is
still more space for me to improve, so I am going to do a self critique based on my
performance not only in the IDEA Speech but also throughout the course. First of
all, I would like to analyze my results from the PRCA survey. My overall score is
46, which represents a low communication apprehension. Compared to the result of
my first survey which was 56, I thought I improved a lot. My anxietyand nervous

attention to the presentation skills. I know that I spent a long time preparing each

Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre Jane Eyre was written in the mid nineteenth century
and is set during the Victorian period, at a time where a women s role in society

impoverished single women. Schools of the 19th century were strict, and they
demanded much hard work and participation from the students, however, just the

Children in Victorian society were taught to be good Christians, and this is shown
in the novel by Helen s strong belief in God and her self denial as a result of her
Christianity and Mr Brocklehurst s attitude towards Jane after she tells him she

treated completely opposite. Although John Reed is cruel and vicious to Jane, he
receives no type of warning that God will punish him. Bessie and Miss, Abbot

Being that forensic science focuses on the retrieval of evidence for the court of law,
and that in that court of law people are often judged by a jury of their peers, it is
natural that the effects of their day to day world often come into play with their
courtroom experience.
The CSI effect is by all accounts a continuously developing issue for the present and
future jurors of the American justice system. As difficult as it might be to believe,
there are many individuals out there that have difficulties dissevering the reality and
capability of chemistry, physics, and human beings, from what they believe and hold
to be true in the media. As jurors, these are potentially the jurors that will begin
asking for more proof, or for what valid reason they have not seen certain evidence
items that don t even exist in that particular case. Being that humans are easily
influenced, scrutinizing the proof that has been given can cause a domino effect on
other jurors and the decision they have thought to hold true. According to the National
Institute of Justice, a whopping 46 percent of people had the expectation of evidence

42. Relationships In Oedipus Rex And The Importance Of
Being...
The relationship between a parent and a child is very important. It is critical to the
health and well being of the child and the overall happiness of the family. Most
parent and child relationships follow the same prototype of the parent caring for the
child. This continues until they are able to take care of themselves and even after it
ends, love and support is still shown from the parent. However, the parent and child
relationships in OedipusRex and the Importance of Being Earnest differ from this
common theme. The relationships seen in these plays are complicated and
oppressive. From the surface, Lady Bracknell and Gwendolen seem to have a
typical mother daughter relationship. But as the play progresses we see that this is
not at all the case. Lady Bracknell is a narrow minded and authoritarian type mother.
Because of this she is very protective when it comes to her daughter. She believes
that since she married well, her daughter deserves the same. Her idea of marriage
includes the attainment of social security and property. In her mind it has nothing
to do with love or passion. Gwendolen, however, wants to make her own decisions
and live her life as she pleases, not having to worry about whether or not her
mother will approve. She is intellectual sophisticated, and cosmopolitan. The
overprotectiveness from her mother is first seen when list of eligible men are
mentioned. This list is composed by Lady Bracknell herself and includes the names
of all the men who she believes are good and worthy enough to be with her daughter.
With this list is a set of interview questions about a variety of topics ranging from his
smoking habits to his familyorigins. This is her way of manipulating the situation
and getting it to turn out the way that she wants it to. Lady Bracknell was born into
the lower class but was a social climber who was determined on marrying into the
aristocracy, which is exactly what she did. She wants her daughter to be able to do
the same. She even goes as far as to tell Gwendolen that she is not engaged until her
mother or father informs her that she is. Even after all this pressure and control
coming from her mother Gwendolen decides to rebel. Gwendolen is sure she wants
to marry the man
43. Savagery In Lord Of The Flies Conch Essay
The novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding begins with a group of innocent
aeroplane crash surviving English school boys that find themselves on an
uninhabited island. The group, which began as a multitude of frightened individuals,
is brought together by the sound of Ralph and a deep, harsh note [that] boomed
under the palms, spread through the intricacies of the forest and echoed back from
the pink granite of the mountain (18) that was henceforth known as, the conch (18).
The conch becomes a symbol of order and civilization and the boys give whom who
holds the conch, the same simple obedience that they had given to the men with
megaphones (19). Deeper into the novel; however, the conch is consigned to oblivion

44. Religion During The Captivity By Alvar Nunez Cabeza De
Vaca
Religion played a key role in the captive lives of the writers of the three captivity
narratives by Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca, a Catholic, Father Isaac Jougues, also
Catholic, and
Mary Rowlandson, a Puritan. All three of these captives used God as a motivation to
keep pushing forward because they believed that God would free them from their
suffering. They all believed that God had a plan for all of what they were going
through. Jougues and de Vaca also use religionin other ways during their time as
captives of the Native Americans. The Native Americans made de Vaca and his men
doctors even though they were not.
When the Native Americans were told that de Vaca and his men were not doctors and
that de
Vaca believed the medicine the Native Americans used was ridiculous, the men were
punished,
they withheld food from us until we should practice what they required.
1
The method used by de Vaca and his men was to bless those who were sick, they
would say a ...Paternoster and an
Ave Maria, praying ...to God our Lord that he would give health and influence them
to make us some good return.
2
He used religion to help the ailing people. The Native Americans needed de
Vaca and his men because they were providing the community a valuable service.
Offering many gifts to physicians was a custom for these Native Americans, so de
Vaca and his men benefited in this sense as well. While de Vaca wasn t sure about
being the doctor, he did feel the Native

With many competitors and the pressures on ASPs and prices the profit margin is
thinning. d) Emerging Trends: Understanding what directions the smart card business
is going would be very important for a good marketing plan. For instance,
understanding that people do not want or prefer single function smart cards but
want one smart card for all of their secure purchasing needs (Walko, 2009; Young,
2000), would be valuable information. e) Competitive Landscape: Understanding the
competitive landscape if crucial if SmartCard LLC is going to be successful. There

Nigeria An Evaluation of Recent Experiences By Akinlolu Agboola Obafemi
Awolowo University Ile Ife, Nigeria Abstract The study is a comprehensive
evaluation of the response of Nigerian banks to the adoption of ICT. Three
categories of variables that relate to the adoption and implementation of information
technology devices were used for the study. These include the nature and degree of
adoption of innovative technologies; degree of utilisation of the identified
technologies; and the impact of the adoption of ICT devices on banks operation.
The study covered 36 out of the 89 banks in the country as at the end of 2005. A total

The banking industry in Nigeria has witnessed tremendous changes linked with the
developments in ICT over the years. The quest for survival, global relevance,
maintenance of existing market share and sustainable development has made
exploitation of the many advantages of ICT through the use of automated devices
imperative in the industry. This study evaluates the response of Nigerian banks to
this new trend and examines the extent to which they have adopted innovative
technologies in their operations and the resultant effects. Information and
Communication Technology Information Technology (IT) is the automation of
processes, controls, and information production using computers,
telecommunications, software and ancillary equipment such as automated teller
machine and debit cards (Khalifa 2000). It is a term that 4 generally covers the
harnessing of electronic technology for the information needs of a business at all
levels. Irechukwu (2000) lists some banking services that have been revolutionized
through the use of ICT as including account opening, customer account mandate, and
transaction processing and recording. Information and Communication Technology
has provided self service facilities (automated customer service machines) from where
prospective customers can complete their account opening documents direct online. It

48. Scots Law of Contract
All of the case studies are concerned with the Law of Contract, specifically the
formation of a contract and the differences between an invitation to treat and a
contract. We will investigate each consumers s specific contract or lack thereof
individually and advise Bruce on his legal position. A contract is an agreement
between two or more parties which in Scotland does not need to take a specific
form, as a spoken agreement is still equally as enforceable as a written contract in
certain circumstances such as in most social and domestic arrangements. A contract
creates a legally binding bond between the parties involved. Contracts are made

The area of Law concerned in this case is The Law of Contract specifically relating to
the revocation of an offer and counter offers. The case Wolf and Wolf vs Forfar
Potato Co Ltd (1984) directly links to the case between Bruce and Ken. As Bruce
is once again dealing with the Law of Contract specifically the non acceptance of an
offer, he is under no legal obligation to sell Ken the rare vinyl at the original price of
ВЈ40. When Ken rejected the original offer he created a counter offer which in
Scots law is a completely new offer and caused Bruce s original offer to lapse and
was up to Bruce to decide wether or not to accept the new terms, after Bruce
rejected the counter offer all offers between Bruce and Ken had lapsed. When Ken
came back insisting that there was a contract between them and he was entitled to
the album Bruce was in fact under no legal requirement to give Ken the vinyl as all
offers had lapsed and no contract existed between then. In the case of Fisher v Bell
(1961) a shopkeeper had displayed a flick knife in his window with a price tag
next to it but under the restriction of Offensive Weapons Accontents Restriction of
Offensive Act (1959) it was illegal to sell hire or offer to sell or hire any knife
which had a blade that opened automatically, on December 12 1959 the shopkeeper
was brought to trial alleging that the defendant had broken the law by offering to sell
the knife in his shop. The
49. Alexander Hamilton As A Political Prophet Essay
Alexander Hamilton as a Political Prophet
January 11th, 1757, the supposed day that a founding father, an American
statesman, and the creator of the nation s financial system was born; his name,
Alexander Hamilton. But, before all of those things came to be true, Hamilton
was just a boy with an unexciting background. Mr. Hamilton was born in the
Caribbean Islands of Nevis to James Hamilton and Rachel Fawcett. He had a
normal childhood, spending most of his youth on the island of St. Croix where his
mom died when he was only about 11 years old. After his mom passed away,
Hamilton took his first job as a clerk for the Cruger s business. As a clerk, he would
track the business records, and coordinate business efforts between the merchant
ship captains, government officials, and planters. Here, is where Hamilton would
find his big break. Cruger and the local minister recognized how smart he was and
pushed and pulled to get him to leave St. Croix and off to New York City. Not taking
too much time to agree, Hamilton left his hometown in the year of 1772, to never
return again.
Arriving in New York, Hamilton attended many schools, but eventually accepted
and attended King s College where he stayed for a brief amount of time before he
joined a local New York militia to fight in the American Revolution. A starting point
to a solid military career. After serving as an artillery captain, he began to move up
the ranks until he landed the position of General George Washingtons military
50. Coriolanus Volumnia Character Traits
In the play, Coriolanus, the main character, Caius Martius Coriolanus personality is
influenced by both his upbringing by his mother and his own nature through personal
experiences, but I personally feel that his difficult personality is mainly due to his
upbringing.
In the first act of the play, it is already clear that Volumnia (Coriolanus mother) is
very domineering and persuasive, and she controls a large part of her son s life.
Volumnia did not give Coriolanus a very nurturing upbringing, It more becomes a
man than gilt his trophy. The breasts of Hecuba, when she did suckle Hector,
looked not lovelier than Hector s forehead when it spit forth blood at Grecian
sword. (Act 1, Scene 3, lines 42 46). This shows how Volumnia finds war more
honourable than love and caring for a family, specifically nurturing a child. This
reveals how Volumnia was not a loving mother, and how her views and personality...

The bloodshed he has witnessed has definitely had an effect on his personality, but
not to a very large extent. While young, Volumnia already shaped the views of war
and honour into Coriolanus, making him prepared for the bloodshed and creating
the impression that killing was honourable. While Coriolanus is in battle, she says
to his wife If my son were my husband, I should freelier rejoice in that absence
wherein he won honour than in the embracements of his bed where he would show
most love. (Act 1, Scene 3, lines 2 5). This further reinforces her standpoint on the
honour of war, and also shows how she has brought up Coriolanus and shaped his
personality. Her harsh, forceful personality carries through to Coriolanus. If it were
not for Volumnia pushing Coriolanus to fight for honour, then he might not have
even gone through the experience of war which would have resulted in him having a
much softer personality and he might have been more humble and
51. Thomas Ellis The Dinner
Each chapter in the book is a different event that Ellis looks at in attempt to prove
his thesis. One of the arguments Ellis uses is from the chapter The Dinner. During
Thomas Jefferson s dinner party, Madison agreed to permit the core provision of
Hamilton s fiscal plan to pass; and in return Hamilton agreed to use his influence to
assure...the national capital would be on the Potomac River (Ellis 49). Hamilton
did what had to be done and gave Madison the location of the capital, in return for
his plan being passed. It was not morally correct for Jefferson to broker this
compromise. In fact later Jefferson himself concluded that...the bargain made...with
Hamilton was the greatest political mistake of his life (Ellis 51). This was a strong

Nowadays automatic machines such as robots are extensively used in industrial
environment due to their distinguishing features. Despite the fact that these robots
are well developed there is always a room for improvement. Therefore different
techniques of controlling the robot can be implemented where performance can be
much more efficient and less vulnerable to errors.
The path following robot has a vast application, can be adopted on production lines
to deliver parts or used to stock and retrieve the load to and from storage racks.
Also in social care as well, to improve flexibility of disability scooters or even as a
cleaning robot. In addition the tour guide robot in museums could provide all
required information, provide location details, direction, etc.
The Arduino microcontroller will be brought to the path following robot project and
