Sheldon s Broken Window Theory
To truly test broken window theory would involve analyzing the public perception of disorder and
crime (Gau Pratt, 2010). Generally speaking do people differentiate between crime and disorder or do
they blend together? If indeed people can distinguish between the two, then there is hope for
maintenance policing and Broken Window Theory (Gau Pratt, 2010). However, if they do in fact
merge, then the effectiveness of maintenance policing and by proxy the validity of the concept of
Broken Window Theory need to be rethought.
BROKEN WINDOW THEORY 5 Data from a 2003 mail survey was conducted in the Eastern Part of
the State of Washington residents for their fear of crime, and their perception of disorder in their
neighborhoods. Twenty counties were sent the survey four times to ensure they got the survey. Two

Sheldon says that it is not even really a theory at all. Sheldon says that it lacks a theoretical basis and
has no rational (Sheldon, 2001). He says it is silly to think that if minor offenders like window
washers are arrested, that bigger crimes will go down because criminals will commit crime regardless
of a zero tolerance policy (Sheldon, 2001). Sheldon wants to know why there is crime in a community
in the first place, and how much of it was fixed before the policy was put into place (Sheldon, 2001).
Sheldon says that minor crimes like littering and graffiti do not lead to homicide, rape or burglary
(Sheldon, 2001). The general idea is that this minor disorder will give way to more intense crimes, but
Sheldon says the idea of disorder is sketchy at best is widely open to a subjective basis. Sheldon also
pays close attention to the New York Policing Experiment. Sheldon points out that little mention is

Why Are The Mongols Barbaric
Despite however civilized some thought the Mongols were, they were barbaric for three distinct
reasons: they used psychological warfare to manipulate the minds of their enemies; even worse, they
caused mass destruction to many cities/countries in the Eastern Hemisphere during leader Genghis
Khan s rule; however, most catastrophic of all, they killed about 40 million people throughout their
reign (Andrei). According to the online dictionary, barbaric can be defined as savagely cruel and/or
exceedingly brutal. If destroying innocent people s homes and killing tens of millions of people is not
barbaric, nothing is. The Mongols use of psychological warfare was just barbaric evil to say the least.
They used this method of warfare to eliminate enemies, make people loyal to them, and to inspire fear
among non Mongols. For example, when the Tartars, a rival clan of the ... Show more content on

information of these invasions first hand. In this excerpt, he describes how these cities and other
places were destroyed. They attacked the cities of Turkistan... and thence advanced on the cities of
Transoxiana. Al Athir explains how the Mongols took these people s possessions, and were
destroying, and slaying, and plundering, and thence passing on. When they were finished with one
city, they just moved on to the next. For instance, al Athir states: And when they had finished with
Adharbayjan and Arraniyya, they passed on to Darband i Shirwin, and occupied its cities, none of
which escaped (al Athir). Another excerpt from Marco Polo elaborates on how the Mongols just
wreaked havoc everywhere, surrounding and eventually destroying people and horses of multiple
different enemies (Polo). Is destruction civilized? Not in the

AAS Personal Statement
It is safe to say that I have been dispensing free fashion advice to friends and family before I can even
remember. I have a profound interest in how clothing can tell a story about an individual or even a
brand. Personally, I believe the way we demonstrate style and interpret fashion is highly reflective of
our personalities, what we have been doing and where we have been, it s a form of personal
perception and self expression. Being given the opportunity to blend my obsession in fashion products
and story telling combined with marketing strategies is something that really fascinates me. This is
what intrigued me and finally led me to my applying for the AAS in Fashion Marketing at Parsons.
My desire in arts arouse from a young age, during my secondary school career in Johannesburg South
Africa, I dedicated myself to as many creative extra circular activities as I could. Being the captain of
my dance crew and a committed member of the drama club (participating in all school productions),

A degree in film and tv was unquestionable for me, that is all I had dreamt about ever since a child.
But it was not till I was in Film school where I learnt there was a piece of the puzzle that was missing.
Living in one of the fashion capitals, with no one to make judgements, my appreciation for fashion
grew at a rapid pace. I had an undying itch to find an outlet that could fill full my growing passion for
the fashion industry and escape the reality of being dissatisfied with the career path I had already
chosen. Without putting the knowledge I gained through my first year at film school to waste,
combined with my passion of storytelling, writing and persistent cravings of exploring fashion I found
my escape and launch my very own fashion, beauty and travel blog Styled

Operation Mincemeat Ben Macintyre
Operation Mincemeat was written by Ben Macintyre, a writer for the Times of London, and an author
whose works are mainly on the espionage aspect of the Allied war effort in World War II, especially
the use of double agents. Macintyre became interested in Operation Mincemeat while conducting
research for another book on Eddie Chapman, a British double agent. He was specifically drawn to
Ewen Montagu, one of the masterminds behind this operation. Although Montagu had written a book
about these events, titled The Man Who Never Was in 1953, Macintyre understood that certain details
were omitted from the published work as it first had to be authorized by the Joint Intelligence
Committee. In order to fill in the gaps in Montagu s book, Macintyre began to search for the classified
documents pertaining to the operation, which he eventually obtained after contacting Montagu s son.
In fact, Macintyre eventually obtained Montagu s letters, his unpublished autobiography and the
uncensored version of his original book, which would be the sources of information for his new book
on Operation Mincemeat. Another factor that led him to write this book was the lack of material on
this secret operation available to the public, partly due to the British government s unwillingness to
divulge these classified operations from the war for almost fifty years. With the relaxing of these
restrictions by the government, Macintyre felt it was time to paint the complete picture of the events

The sun is an incredible 2 million degrees Celsius and can reach 15 million in the core. The Sun has a
very strong magnetic field. Solar flares occur when magnetic energy is released by the Sun during
magnetic storms, which we see as sunspots. In sunspots, the magnetic lines are twisted and they spin,
much like a tornado would on Earth. (sun facts, 2012)
How the sun began
Gravity drew dust and gas together to create the solar system. The sun formed first from the material
closely by the planets. Waves of energy traveling through space pressed clouds of such particles closer
together, and gravity causes them to collapse in on themselves. As the material drew together, gravity
caused it to spin. The spin caused the cloud to flatten into a disk like a pancake. In the centre, the
material clumped together to form a protostar that would eventually become the sun. The protostar
was a ball of hydrogen and helium not yet powered by fusion. Over the course of 50 million years, the
temperature and pressure of the material inside increased, jumpstarting the fusion of hydrogen that
drives the sun today. (Credit, 2016)

Biodiversity In Belize Essay
Biodiversity in Belize The South Caye Marine Reserve region is located along the Belize Barrier Reef.
This reef is the second largest in the world, and the largest in the northern hemisphere. Two very
important ecosystems in the Belize Barrier Reef area are the coral reef, and the mangrove trees. These
ecosystems assist in determining the biodiversity of the area, affecting animals of the water, land, and
sky. Without each other these two ecosystems would diminish, they rely on the other to thrive. These
two ecosystems benefit the environment, and also the economy. Since the economy tends to be viewed
as more important than preservation of nature, the government had to step in and create laws that will
preserve the ecosystem. Mangroves are the centre of a very intricate ecosystem. As a whole,
mangroves are sometimes considered to be the most complex and productive ecosystem on earth
(Frost, Emily). Many individuals consider the mangrove trees to be where the sea meets the land,
since it benefits animals of all kinds. There are four different species of mangroves located in Belize,
these include: the red mangove (Rhizophora mangle), the black mangove (Avicennia germinans), the
white mangrove (Laguncalaria racemosa), and the buttonwood (Conocarpus erectus). The red
mangrove is usually found along the water on the cayes and waterways, the black mangroves are
found farther from the waters edge, followed by the white mangrove and buttonwood being found
furthest inland.

4 October 2014 Pre WWI Questions 1. The foreign policies of Bismarck were very strategic and
peaceful. Bismarck prevented bloodshed by creating the League of the Three Emperors. This was an
alliance between three monarchies, which were Germany, Russia and Austria Hungary. He saw this as
a means to isolate France and preserve both peace and conservative status quo (Tucker). If he did not
take this action, then France could have used Russia and Austria Hungary as allies. This would make
France more powerful than Germany militarily. The League of The Three Emperors eventually
disbanded because of conflicts between Russia and Austria Hungary. So, Bismarck created the

Did the Austro Hungarian Empire have good relations with the Russian and German empires?
They didn t have a good relationship with the Russians. This is demonstrated in the League of The
Three Emperors, which ended because of tension between the Austrian and Russian empire. However,
they had good relations with Germans because they had an alliance with them. This was called the
Dual Alliance of 1879 and it was formed because they had a common enemy of France. (Roman)
How did this empire unite when there were so many different ethnic groups?
The citizens of Austria Hungary didn t have much in common socially and religiously. However, they
had the same army, foreign policies and currency.
Were there any conflicts between the different ethnic groups?
Yes, there were a few small conflicts when deciding what the language taught in schools should be.

sider BACKGROUND Efficient market theory examines how accurately stock prices signal resource
allocation alloc and fully reflect all available information. Fama (1970) introduced the efficient market
hypothesis stating there are three forms of efficiency: weak, semi strong, and strong. A market semi
strong, that incorporates all historical information is said to be weak form efficient, while one that
responds to all publicly available informatio is semi strong efficient. In a semiinformation strong
efficient market, prices instantly change to reflect publicly available information. A strong form
market, strong responds to all information, both public and private. The hypothesis claims that
achieving above average returns on a risk adjusted basis is impossible (Fama 1970). (Fama, The
lowest level of market efficiency, weak form, states that the market only reacts to historical
information. This means that no one can earn above normal returns based on published historical
information; however, the market does not quickly react to new public or private information. It may
be possible then, in a weak form efficient market, to obtain abnormal returns form using either new
publicly available or private insider information (Fama 1970). (Fama, A semi strong form market is
more efficient that a weak form, as it reacts to publicly strong available new information quickly and

Analysis Of Farenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury
The book Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is about a fireman named Montag. Montag changed his
whole life around because of books. This book is taking place in a dystopian society where nobody
reads books everyone is watching TV which is there family . Firemen burn down houses, in school
you don t really learn if you do its not valuable learning. If you do have books and the firemen find
out you will die and destroy the book. This book is about the fireman Montag who starts reading
books and sees the society he lives in is wrong. At the beginning of this book there is quote which is If

The fireman Montag really does follow the way of the quote. At the beginning Montag was just a
regular citizen in this dystopian society. He watched TV went to his job and burned houses and went
home to his wife. We can tell he was like everyone because the book opens with this It s a pleasure to
burn (Bradbury 1). He was a regular fireman who liked to burn houses like the rest of them do. One
night he was walking home from working at the firehouse and he saw someone and started to follow
this person because usually nobody is out at this time. He found this person named Clarisse she
changed Montag s whole life. She made him look at the world in a different way and made him think
about other things besides TV and burning books and she challenged his thinking. Montag before he

Analysis Of Moby Dick By Herman Melville
There is wisdom that is woe but there is a woe that is madness. Herman Melville. Moby Dick is a
novel that was written by Herman Melville, during the American Renaissance. Melville was an
American novelist, short story writer, and a poet. Melville was influenced in his writing career by
many people such as, William Shakespeare (Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet), Nathaniel Hawthorne (The
Scarlett Letter, The House of Seven Gables), and Edgar Allen Poe (The Raven, The Fall of the House
of Usher). He was also a whaler for approximately 3 4 years. While Melville was on a whaling voyage
he heard a story, from Hawthorne, about a terrorizing whale. Hawthorne had also mentioned the ship
named, The Essex. Details about the accounts which took place on the Essex, a whaling ship from
Nantucket under the command of George Pollard Jr., interested Melville. The Essex was an old ship
which sank in 1820, due to an attack from the whale. Many of the voyages on the Essex were
profitable so she gained the reputation as a lucky vessel. The story of Moby Dick is not new to the
silver screen. When it was first released in 1851, reviewers trashed it. The Athenaeum (London
literary magazine) wrote, This is an ill compounded mixture of romance and matter of fact . Prior to
the new movie In the Heart of the Sea , there are 12 different versions of Moby Dick. Ron Howard,
director and producer of the new movie In the Heart of the Sea told IMDB (Internet Movie Database)

Periodontitis Essay
Periodontitis is defined as an inflammatory disease of the supporting tissues of the teeth caused by
specific microorganisms or groups of specific microorganisms, resulting in progressive destruction of
the periodontal ligament and alveolar bone with pocket formation, recession or both. 1 Periodontal
diseaseisan ubiquitous infection in humans displaying the classic hallmarks of the inflammatory
response. Late sequelaeof periodontal diseases are the loss of alveolar bone,,mobile teeth leading to a
demolished periodontium. Therefore, earlier detection and treatment leads to improved outcomes for
patients.2
The main transgressors in Periodontal diseases are gram negative bacteria that elicit a host response,
which cause an aftermath of osseous and soft tissue destruction. The host response plays the role of a
second fiddle through mediators like proteinases, cytokines and prostaglandins causing severe tissue
loss.2 Cytokines are the linchpins in mediating numerous biological activities including proliferation,

choosing to go off grid in America today: There is no grid available, to minimize environmental
impact of the grid and leave a smaller carbon footprint, to avoid utility costs, saving money by
lowering bills, emergency insurance, entertainment of an intelligent mind, reducing use of fossil fuels,

There are several ways to build the walls and floor so that heat is stored in the day and released at
night. Night and day temperatures, as well as seasonal angles of the sun are things to think about in
terms of location if you plan to build a home that utilizes solar energy, such as an earthship. Dave
Black states An east west axis (90 degrees to true south) allows the longer side of the structure to be
exposed to the sun. That s where the big windows should be. North and east facing windows can lose a
lot of heat in the winter, and west facing glass can cause overheating in summer, so they should be few
and small.(Use overhangs over the windows to protect the interior from too much summer sun.......) .
Earthships are also an environmentally friendly model because of the fact that they can be made from
recycled materials such as tires, cans, beams made from recycled trash, etc. Walls made of stacked
tires filled with cans serve to store and release heat when needed. This fact also makes it a viable
option for a low budget home. Since most, or all, of an earthship can be built with what is essentially
trash, most of your building materials can be found cheap or free, provided you have access to a road
system. There are many other ways to create an off

The Defense Of Self Defense
Self Defense: The self defense claim has been around for many years and has been categorized in the
courts as an excuse or justification. One of the rarely considered premises of the excuse/justification
debate is that defenses are naturally unified. (Nourse V F, 2001). Depending on the individual cases
self defense might turn out to be both an excuse and a justification. If this is accurate then the debate
on excuses and justifications does not solve the problem of the theory of necessity or imminence. Self
defense is when a defendant states that he or she was confronted by a serious threat of bodily harm or
even death, this threat appears to be imminent, and therefore the only action for the defendant at that
moment was both necessary and proportionate. There are two factors that do not qualify under the
defense of self defense which are the defendant turned out to be the aggressor or if the defendant
failed to retreat from the threat. Self defense rules that for a defendants actions to be justified there
needed to be an imminent threat. For many years there has been a disagreement in whether the law has
become subjective or that the instructions given to the jurors are objective. Many scholars believe that
one problem involving imminent is there being too much time between the threat and the actual
killing. The self defense claim is commonly used for victims of battered women. Many facts for
women claiming battered women syndrome do not add up to self defense

Using our measures, weights, and the importance of the weight, we found that the five industries that
Sara Lee occupies are fairly similar in attractiveness. The food retail industry is the most attractive and
the international refrigerated bread industry is the least attractive.
The food retail industry is the most attractive primarily because it has an extremely high market size.
This industry is benefiting from the economic downturn because less people are eating at restaurants.
Instead they are making more meals at home. Although this industry is benefiting from the economic
downturn, there is a high risk of uncertainty. This is because of the competitiveness of the industry,
economic factors, and emerging opportunities that the business unit will have to face.
On the other side, the international refrigerated bread industry is the least attractive because of the
global economic downturn. The economic recession affected this company particularly hard. Spain is
the main country that supported this industry for refrigerated bread and got hit harder than other
countries. Spain is also the only country that is looking to continue the want for refrigerated bread,
whereas other countries are turning to fresh breads as its leading bread products causing the projected
growth rate to decrease significantly.

Skeletal Bone Research Paper
Bone Lit Review
Introduction
Skeletal bone is a dynamic tissue structure that constantly undergoes changes and remodeling
throughout someone s lifespan. Skeletal bones is a mechanical support for locomotion and protecting
the organs. Muscle tendons and ligaments insert onto the bone. It is only present in vertebrates.
Bone tissue is made up mainly of fibrous collagen connective tissue surrounded by a calcium
phosphate like mineral. It is hollow shaped structured that cannot swell or shrink. However, there are
living cells and blood vessels imbued within the bone tissue.

phosphate ions from various macromolecules creating a high concentration of ions. The high ion

Solar Power Appliances
Introduction
Founded in 1987 by a professor of electrical engineering at the University of Stanford, the SunPower
Company has lived to beat adversities and emerged as a formidable force to reckon with in the
provision of solar energy in the past few decades. Markedly, Dr. Richard Swanson acted on a market
gap and spearheaded the company s establishment from a research and development corporation to a
fully fledged production firm that produces and sells solar panels globally. Owing to worldwide
warming and climate change, there have been entrants in the same line of business that compete with
SunPower. As a result, a reduction in the company s market share occurred over the past decades.

Despite its marked development, the SunPower Company still experiences aggressive competition
from larger solar cells producers in the world. Since solar energy is a permanent solution to concerns
on climate change, there have been scores of entrants into the same line of business. For instance, the
company faces stiff competition from the Asian and Middle East countries. Some of its main
competitors include Sharp Solar, who is the chief competitor, Q cells, REC Cells, First cells, and Sun

The Importance Of Technology In Psychology
The field of psychology draws inspiration from a vast array of subjects. Tactics and techniques
garnered from various disciplines widely apply throughout many areas of psychological research.
Over the past two decades, technological growth has had a strong impact on the numerous healthcare
disciplines. For instance, technology has impacted psychology in the areas of research methods and
treatment procedures. The widespread availability of computers and smartphones supercharged the
development of new technologies and treatment programs to now help aid previously unreachable
clients through therapeutic resources. Technological developments in the past few decades have
inspired psychologists to provide access to therapy on several different platforms. Telepsychology is
the term used for therapy and other psychological treatments provided through such means (Novotney,
2017). The American Psychological Association (2012) defines telepsychology as the provision of
psychological services using telecommunications technologies . These technologies include webcams,
chats, texts, emails, and the Internet ( Guidelines... , 2012). According to Novotney (2017), one reason
people use online therapy is the ease of accessibility it provides as well as the lower costs compared to
traditional therapy sessions. Many people live far from a therapist s office and were unable to attend
therapy sessions until the advent of these online counseling organizations (Novotney, 2017).

Individuals With Learning Disabilities Are All Unique
Individuals with learning disabilities are all unique. A learning disability, to me, is a condition that
changes the way an individual learns and impacts how they are able to express the knowledge they
have learned. Learning disabilities are separate from physical limitations because, according to IDEA
04, learning disabilities impact an individual s ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, or do
mathematical calculations. An individual with a learning disability most often does not appear at the
surface to look different from their peers, but they require additional supports, strategies and
instruction in order to be a successful student. I believe their brain is hardwired to learn differently
from the typical student, and it is my job, as the special education teacher, to find out how the student
learns best and provide them with the tools they need.
In addition to knowing how students with learning disabilities learn differently, I also know they have
to work harder than the average student. I have learned that my students need to establish positive
relationships with their teacher. These individuals need to know there is someone who believes in
them who is also able to motivate them to continue to give their best each and every day. They may
also need frequent breaks and a change of pace in instruction and lessons to keep maintain their
attention and effort. Appropriate accommodations and sometimes modifications are also important for
our learning

The Confederate Flag Was Removed From The Pole Of The Flag
Heritage Coopted by hate July 10th, 2015, 2,000 citizens stood around the statehouse in Columbia
South Carolina to watch as the confederate flag was removed from the pole on the grounds. The
removal of the flag had emotions raging in the South, many Southerners believing that the flag was a
symbol of heritage, while others thought it was a symbol of hate. But is the flag a symbol of hate, or
does the hate come from the people who fly a flag in a negative way? Since the flag was created in
1861, the views of the flag have been coopted into an idea of hate. The Stars and Bars was the first
official fag that was adopted by the Confederacy in March of 1861. The Stars and Bars had seven stars
in the top right hand corner of the flag to represent the seven original confederate states. The Stars and
Bars resembled the Stars and Stripes flags of the Union, as a result this led to confusion on the battle
field (Confederate). The Stars and Bars (Confederate). The Confederate Battle Flag replaced the Stars
and Bars in order to try and avoid confusing on the battle field. The Confederate Battle Flag had a
cross of eleven white starts in the top right of the flag that represented all eleven confederate states
plus Kentucky and Missouri. This flag is the most commonly looked upon flag of the confederacy
(Confederate). The Confederate Battle Flag (Confederate) The second official battle flag was
developed on May 1st of 1863. This flag had the Southern Cross in the right upper

200 Meter Dashes Essay
At the end of my rainbow is winning all the 100 and 200 meter dashes this track season. Last year I
won all of my 100 meter dashes. I won a couple 200 s. The first time I ran the 200 I got 5th. By the
end of the year I had dropped off four seconds. Now I want to win both of them at every single meet. I
will reach the end of the rainbow by working hard every single day. I will go to practice and push
myself. I will train outside of practice and before the season starts. I will keep my grades up so I can
go to all the practices and meets. I may have some setbacks on my journey to the end of the rainbow.
When the temperature is cold I do not breathe well. That will make it hard to train before the season
starts. I will get tired of going hard every day at practice. I will just have to remember what is at the
end of the rainbow. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In track you can participate in four events. My other two events will hurt because I won t be able to
spend as much time on them in practice. Some other events will help me because they have running in
them. The long jump will hurt the most because I won t be able to work on my form very often. This
sounds like I m the only one this is helping but it s not. If I win both the 100 and 200 meter dash that
is 20 points at the meet. Running those two races will help me in the third events because it is running
also. I might get first in that event. That would be thirty points. Those points will go to the team at the
meets. It will help us win meets. My pot of gold is benefiting my track

Battle Of Arabia Essay
Lawrence of Arabia bolstered the Allied Powers through the capture of Damascus by reinforcing
General Allenby s forces and in the process he demonstrated his innovative leadership. Wanting to
advance north against the Turks, Allenby required assistance from the Arabs to attack the Fourth Army
of the Turks east of the Jordan River. To accomplish that, Allenby needed Lawrence, who seemed to
be the only person who could get the Arabs to fight in an organized way (Korda 379). Considering
Allenby s request, Lawrence altered the proposed strategy to have the Arabs attack Ma an and the
southern railway. Instead, Lawrence believed it would be best to attack the railway from the north of
Ma an. (Korda 379). Furthermore, knowing that the Turks would ... Show more content on

These tribes rallied with Allenby s army and resulted in a defeat of the Ottomans at Deraa (Mack 163).
Importantly, this success at Deraa diminished the already dwindling Turks forces, setting them up for
defeat at Damascus. On September 19th, the day that Allenby captured Damascus, the Turkish forces
were bombarded for fifteen minutes at 4:30 am by 385 guns. This full scale infantry assault with
artillery barrage drove the Turks from their bunker. So firmly had the Turks been convinced that the
assault would be toward the Jordan River that they had thinned out their infantry on the coastal plain,
and their defenses quickly crumbled (Korda 411). At about nine in the morning on Tuesday, (October
1,) Lawrence and Stirling drove into Damascus to find scenes of jubilation. Nuri Shaalan and Nasir
had already entered the city, and the narrow streets of the old city of Damascus were aflame with joy
and enthusiasm (Barr 297). After the successful assault on Damascus, presses reported that Colonel
Lawrence played a part of the greatest importance in the Palestine victory. They also notably
mentioned the tactics he used at Deraa (Wilson

Bromination of trans Stilbene to form 1,2 Dibromo 1,2 diphenylethane Abstract 1,2 dibromo 1,2
diphenylethane was produced by the bromination of trans stilbene through the addition of
hydrobromic acid (HBr) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). This experiment was a greener bromination
of stilbene because bromine was generated in situ and ethanol was used as the solvent. The melting
point (243.30°C), mass (.427g), and percent yield (45.54) of the crystals were recorded. The FTIR was
used to confirm that the product was produced. The peaks on the HNMR revealed the presence of
aliphatic and aromatic hydrogens and were used to verify the identity of the product. In addition, the
melting point of the crystals was also used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ford and Richardson (1994) the model of ethical decision making is generally detached by individual
factors and situational factors, which in situational factors is the most important.
Individual factors helps to understand the reason for some people perceive specific action to be
unethical whiles others do not. However, the decision making cannot simply be explained in terms of
these individual factors, because after all several people seems to have multiple ethical selves (Trevino
and Nelson 2007:180) that is, they make different decisions in different situations. Situational factors
accepted to be the most important.

The United States And The Sharing Economy
The United States has serious labor market challenges as a result of rising wage inequality between
people and the slow middle class wage growth. The need to provide individuals with variety of goods,
service and information raise specific economic phenomena called sharing economy . This model of
economy includes different types of industry categories: sharing information (YouTube), property
(Airbnb), transportation (Uber) and more. The sharing economy works in the same way as a
traditional market, where individuals exchange different goods and service. The central concept of
sharing economy (collaborative consumption) is the access to the goods. The application of regulation
is the major issue with this type of innovated economy. The sharing economy is a nontraditional,
because the workers luck of benefits and the type of economical market system that creates an income
and job opportunity. On the other hand this type of market provides a different type of benefits as:
flexible schedule and employment; saving energy and less waste; self regulation; lower costs of the
product. The context is of a great interest since participation in sharing communities and services is
characterized by obligation to do good for other people and for the environment, such as sharing, and
engaging in sustainable behavior (Prothero et al, 2011). The challenge of any market includes and
market of sharing economy is to ensure the supply and demand. Specifically for the sharing market is

International Trade Theory Of Comparative Advantage And...
Several theories about international trade explain why countries have the opportunity to trade, theory
of comparative advantage and absolute advantage. Adam Smith came up with the theory of absolute
advantage where the country that produces more of one good that another country has simply an
absolute advantage over it. This theory normally constructed with two commodities and two countries.
In Schuhmachers article Adam Smith s theory of absolute advantage and the use of doxography in the
history of economics he says, each nation can produce one good with less expenditure of human labor
than the other and thus more cheaply. (Schuhmachers, 2012) In this case, both countries will
specialize in only producing the commodity, which they have ... Show more content on

This means it does not matter if country A can produce more overall than country B, as long as B can
produce it more efficiently than country A. Country B will choose to produce that product and then
trade it with country A. When a country focuses on a good that it is efficient in producing for a lower
price then they increase national income and company s increase profits. An example of comparative
advantage: Country A can produce 28 bikes and 4 radios, Country B can produce 32 bikes and 12
radios. Country B has an absolute advantage in both products but it has a comparative advantage
specifically in radios because it can efficiently produce 3 times more for less than Country A
(Economics Online, 2017.)
Both theories have the positive effect of making economies that trade grow. Trade makes a price range
below the local price possible. Furthermore, the exporting country can produce more and the
importing country can use its resources on other products in which it is better at producing. However,
because trade prices of foreign goods are lower local goods will experience lower demand. This is one
of the reasons for a trade restriction the government of a country will help maintain local businesses.
Factor Proportion theory was originally created by two Swedish economists. According to this theory,
one condition for trade is that countries differ with respect to the availability of the factors of
production. They

  • 2. Sheldon s Broken Window Theory To truly test broken window theory would involve analyzing the public perception of disorder and crime (Gau Pratt, 2010). Generally speaking do people differentiate between crime and disorder or do they blend together? If indeed people can distinguish between the two, then there is hope for maintenance policing and Broken Window Theory (Gau Pratt, 2010). However, if they do in fact merge, then the effectiveness of maintenance policing and by proxy the validity of the concept of Broken Window Theory need to be rethought. BROKEN WINDOW THEORY 5 Data from a 2003 mail survey was conducted in the Eastern Part of the State of Washington residents for their fear of crime, and their perception of disorder in their neighborhoods. Twenty counties were sent the survey four times to ensure they got the survey. Two thousand eight hundred and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sheldon says that it is not even really a theory at all. Sheldon says that it lacks a theoretical basis and has no rational (Sheldon, 2001). He says it is silly to think that if minor offenders like window washers are arrested, that bigger crimes will go down because criminals will commit crime regardless of a zero tolerance policy (Sheldon, 2001). Sheldon wants to know why there is crime in a community in the first place, and how much of it was fixed before the policy was put into place (Sheldon, 2001). Sheldon says that minor crimes like littering and graffiti do not lead to homicide, rape or burglary (Sheldon, 2001). The general idea is that this minor disorder will give way to more intense crimes, but Sheldon says the idea of disorder is sketchy at best is widely open to a subjective basis. Sheldon also pays close attention to the New York Policing Experiment. Sheldon points out that little mention is given to what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Why Are The Mongols Barbaric Despite however civilized some thought the Mongols were, they were barbaric for three distinct reasons: they used psychological warfare to manipulate the minds of their enemies; even worse, they caused mass destruction to many cities/countries in the Eastern Hemisphere during leader Genghis Khan s rule; however, most catastrophic of all, they killed about 40 million people throughout their reign (Andrei). According to the online dictionary, barbaric can be defined as savagely cruel and/or exceedingly brutal. If destroying innocent people s homes and killing tens of millions of people is not barbaric, nothing is. The Mongols use of psychological warfare was just barbaric evil to say the least. They used this method of warfare to eliminate enemies, make people loyal to them, and to inspire fear among non Mongols. For example, when the Tartars, a rival clan of the ... Al Athir explains how the Mongols took these people s possessions, and were destroying, and slaying, and plundering, and thence passing on. When they were finished with one city, they just moved on to the next. For instance, al Athir states: And when they had finished with Adharbayjan and Arraniyya, they passed on to Darband i Shirwin, and occupied its cities, none of which escaped (al Athir). I have a profound interest in how clothing can tell a story about an individual or even a brand. Personally, I believe the way we demonstrate style and interpret fashion is highly reflective of our personalities, what we have been doing and where we have been, it s a form of personal perception and self expression. Being given the opportunity to blend my obsession in fashion products and story telling combined with marketing strategies is something that really fascinates me. This is what intrigued me and finally led me to my applying for the AAS in Fashion Marketing at Parsons. My desire in arts arouse from a young age, during my secondary school career in Johannesburg South Africa, I dedicated myself to as many creative extra circular activities as I could. I had an undying itch to find an outlet that could fill full my growing passion for the fashion industry and escape the reality of being dissatisfied with the career path I had already chosen. • 5. Operation Mincemeat Ben Macintyre Operation Mincemeat was written by Ben Macintyre, a writer for the Times of London, and an author whose works are mainly on the espionage aspect of the Allied war effort in World War II, especially the use of double agents. Macintyre became interested in Operation Mincemeat while conducting research for another book on Eddie Chapman, a British double agent. He was specifically drawn to Ewen Montagu, one of the masterminds behind this operation. Although Montagu had written a book about these events, titled The Man Who Never Was in 1953, Macintyre understood that certain details were omitted from the published work as it first had to be authorized by the Joint Intelligence Committee. In order to fill in the gaps in Montagu s book, Macintyre began to search for the classified documents pertaining to the operation, which he eventually obtained after contacting Montagu s son. In fact, Macintyre eventually obtained Montagu s letters, his unpublished autobiography and the uncensored version of his original book, which would be the sources of information for his new book on Operation Mincemeat. Another factor that led him to write this book was the lack of material on this secret operation available to the public, partly due to the British government s unwillingness to divulge these classified operations from the war for almost fifty years. With the relaxing of these restrictions by the government, Macintyre felt it was time to paint the complete picture of the events surrounding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The sun is an incredible 2 million degrees Celsius and can reach 15 million in the core. The Sun has a very strong magnetic field. Solar flares occur when magnetic energy is released by the Sun during magnetic storms, which we see as sunspots. In sunspots, the magnetic lines are twisted and they spin, much like a tornado would on Earth. (sun facts, 2012) How the sun began Gravity drew dust and gas together to create the solar system. The sun formed first from the material closely by the planets. Waves of energy traveling through space pressed clouds of such particles closer together, and gravity causes them to collapse in on themselves. As the material drew together, gravity caused it to spin. The spin caused the cloud to flatten into a disk like a pancake. In the centre, the material clumped together to form a protostar that would eventually become the sun. The protostar was a ball of hydrogen and helium not yet powered by fusion. Over the course of 50 million years, the temperature and pressure of the material inside increased, jumpstarting the fusion of hydrogen that drives the sun today. • 7. Biodiversity In Belize Essay Biodiversity in Belize The South Caye Marine Reserve region is located along the Belize Barrier Reef. This reef is the second largest in the world, and the largest in the northern hemisphere. Two very important ecosystems in the Belize Barrier Reef area are the coral reef, and the mangrove trees. These ecosystems assist in determining the biodiversity of the area, affecting animals of the water, land, and sky. Without each other these two ecosystems would diminish, they rely on the other to thrive. These two ecosystems benefit the environment, and also the economy. Since the economy tends to be viewed as more important than preservation of nature, the government had to step in and create laws that will preserve the ecosystem. Mangroves are the centre of a very intricate ecosystem. As a whole, mangroves are sometimes considered to be the most complex and productive ecosystem on earth (Frost, Emily). Many individuals consider the mangrove trees to be where the sea meets the land, since it benefits animals of all kinds. There are four different species of mangroves located in Belize, these include: the red mangove (Rhizophora mangle), the black mangove (Avicennia germinans), the white mangrove (Laguncalaria racemosa), and the buttonwood (Conocarpus erectus). The red mangrove is usually found along the water on the cayes and waterways, the black mangroves are found farther from the waters edge, followed by the white mangrove and buttonwood being found furthest inland. ... In a semiinformation strong efficient market, prices instantly change to reflect publicly available information. A strong form market, strong responds to all information, both public and private. The hypothesis claims that achieving above average returns on a risk adjusted basis is impossible (Fama 1970). This means that no one can earn above normal returns based on published historical information; however, the market does not quickly react to new public or private information. • 13. Analysis Of Moby Dick By Herman Melville There is wisdom that is woe but there is a woe that is madness. Herman Melville. Moby Dick is a novel that was written by Herman Melville, during the American Renaissance. Melville was an American novelist, short story writer, and a poet. Melville was influenced in his writing career by many people such as, William Shakespeare (Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet), Nathaniel Hawthorne (The Scarlett Letter, The House of Seven Gables), and Edgar Allen Poe (The Raven, The Fall of the House of Usher). He was also a whaler for approximately 3 4 years. While Melville was on a whaling voyage he heard a story, from Hawthorne, about a terrorizing whale. Hawthorne had also mentioned the ship named, The Essex. Details about the accounts which took place on the Essex, a whaling ship from Nantucket under the command of George Pollard Jr., interested Melville. The Essex was an old ship which sank in 1820, due to an attack from the whale. Many of the voyages on the Essex were profitable so she gained the reputation as a lucky vessel. The story of Moby Dick is not new to the silver screen. When it was first released in 1851, reviewers trashed it. The Athenaeum (London literary magazine) wrote, This is an ill compounded mixture of romance and matter of fact . He goes on to explain that whatever reason or reasons a person may choose to go off grid there is a long list of realities that one must face in relation to such an undertaking. There are several ways to build the walls and floor so that heat is stored in the day and released at night. Night and day temperatures, as well as seasonal angles of the sun are things to think about in terms of location if you plan to build a home that utilizes solar energy, such as an earthship. Dave Black states An east west axis (90 degrees to true south) allows the longer side of the structure to be exposed to the sun. That s where the big windows should be. North and east facing windows can lose a lot of heat in the winter, and west facing glass can cause overheating in summer, so they should be few and small.(Use overhangs over the windows to protect the interior from too much summer sun.......) . Earthships are also an environmentally friendly model because of the fact that they can be made from recycled materials such as tires, cans, beams made from recycled trash, etc. Walls made of stacked tires filled with cans serve to store and release heat when needed. This fact also makes it a viable option for a low budget home. Since most, or all, of an earthship can be built with what is essentially trash, most of your building materials can be found cheap or free, provided you have access to a road system. • 16. The Defense Of Self Defense Self Defense: The self defense claim has been around for many years and has been categorized in the courts as an excuse or justification. One of the rarely considered premises of the excuse/justification debate is that defenses are naturally unified. (Nourse V F, 2001). Depending on the individual cases self defense might turn out to be both an excuse and a justification. If this is accurate then the debate on excuses and justifications does not solve the problem of the theory of necessity or imminence. Self defense is when a defendant states that he or she was confronted by a serious threat of bodily harm or even death, this threat appears to be imminent, and therefore the only action for the defendant at that moment was both necessary and proportionate. There are two factors that do not qualify under the defense of self defense which are the defendant turned out to be the aggressor or if the defendant failed to retreat from the threat. Self defense rules that for a defendants actions to be justified there needed to be an imminent threat. For many years there has been a disagreement in whether the law has become subjective or that the instructions given to the jurors are objective. Many scholars believe that one problem involving imminent is there being too much time between the threat and the actual killing. The self defense claim is commonly used for victims of battered women. Many facts for women claiming battered women syndrome do not add up to self defense ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: In 2005, Sara Lee placed a strategic plan in action to transform the business into a more tightly focused food, beverage and household products company. This involved the divestiture of weak performing business and product categories, which included eight business units. Although the divestiture would decrease Sara Lee s revenues, it was believed that concentrating their financial and managerial resources on a smaller number of business units would be beneficial. Using our measures, weights, and the importance of the weight, we found that the five industries that Sara Lee occupies are fairly similar in attractiveness. The food retail industry is the most attractive and the international refrigerated bread industry is the least attractive. The food retail industry is the most attractive primarily because it has an extremely high market size. This industry is benefiting from the economic downturn because less people are eating at restaurants. Instead they are making more meals at home. Although this industry is benefiting from the economic downturn, there is a high risk of uncertainty. This is because of the competitiveness of the industry, economic factors, and emerging opportunities that the business unit will have to face. On the other side, the international refrigerated bread industry is the least attractive because of the global economic downturn. The economic recession affected this company particularly hard. Spain is the main country that supported this industry for refrigerated bread and got hit harder than other countries. Spain is also the only country that is looking to continue the want for refrigerated bread, whereas other countries are turning to fresh breads as its leading bread products causing the projected growth rate to decrease significantly. • 23. Individuals With Learning Disabilities Are All Unique Individuals with learning disabilities are all unique. A learning disability, to me, is a condition that changes the way an individual learns and impacts how they are able to express the knowledge they have learned. Learning disabilities are separate from physical limitations because, according to IDEA 04, learning disabilities impact an individual s ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, or do mathematical calculations. An individual with a learning disability most often does not appear at the surface to look different from their peers, but they require additional supports, strategies and instruction in order to be a successful student. I believe their brain is hardwired to learn differently from the typical student, and it is my job, as the special education teacher, to find out how the student learns best and provide them with the tools they need. In addition to knowing how students with learning disabilities learn differently, I also know they have to work harder than the average student. I have learned that my students need to establish positive relationships with their teacher. These individuals need to know there is someone who believes in them who is also able to motivate them to continue to give their best each and every day. They may also need frequent breaks and a change of pace in instruction and lessons to keep maintain their attention and effort. The Confederate Flag Was Removed From The Pole Of The Flag Heritage Coopted by hate July 10th, 2015, 2,000 citizens stood around the statehouse in Columbia South Carolina to watch as the confederate flag was removed from the pole on the grounds. The removal of the flag had emotions raging in the South, many Southerners believing that the flag was a symbol of heritage, while others thought it was a symbol of hate. But is the flag a symbol of hate, or does the hate come from the people who fly a flag in a negative way? Since the flag was created in 1861, the views of the flag have been coopted into an idea of hate. The Stars and Bars was the first official fag that was adopted by the Confederacy in March of 1861. The Stars and Bars had seven stars in the top right hand corner of the flag to represent the seven original confederate states. To accomplish that, Allenby needed Lawrence, who seemed to be the only person who could get the Arabs to fight in an organized way (Korda 379). This full scale infantry assault with artillery barrage drove the Turks from their bunker. So firmly had the Turks been convinced that the assault would be toward the Jordan River that they had thinned out their infantry on the coastal plain, and their defenses quickly crumbled (Korda 411). At about nine in the morning on Tuesday, (October 1,) Lawrence and Stirling drove into Damascus to find scenes of jubilation. In Schuhmachers article Adam Smith s theory of absolute advantage and the use of doxography in the history of economics he says, each nation can produce one good with less expenditure of human labor than the other and thus more cheaply. An example of comparative advantage: Country A can produce 28 bikes and 4 radios, Country B can produce 32 bikes and 12 radios. Country B has an absolute advantage in both products but it has a comparative advantage specifically in radios because it can efficiently produce 3 times more for less than Country A (Economics Online, 2017.) Both theories have the positive effect of making economies that trade grow. Trade makes a price range below the local price possible. Furthermore, the exporting country can produce more and the importing country can use its resources on other products in which it is better at producing.
