Public Space Papers
I will be exploring the theme of public space first as a general concept, dissecting what the phrase
means and how it s been used in global conversation. Then, I will give a few examples of how public
space manifests itself in the world. For instance, a possible point of discussion could be the North
Carolinian act HB2 that requires individuals to use bathrooms that correspond with the sex listed on
their birth certificate, a clear discriminatory move against the trans community. Public space is a
concept integral to cities, their conception, and their development. A city is an intricate web of public
and private spaces. Navigating those spaces can be a challenge for some citizens of a city. The ever
adapting nature of the city means that, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As I have mentioned many times over, public space is so much more than just a physical area. It is a
web of complex processes and rules (written or unwritten) about who can exist where. Segregating
water fountains, relegated low income housing to certain areas, restricting trans peoples use of
bathrooms these are all clear messages that, You do not belong in this space. This space is not for you.
The personal nature of this source, being a quote from an actual trans woman who has experienced
this type of oppression, will hopefully provide both a refreshing break from the variety of academic
sources that I am including and will persuade the reader to further see the merit of the argument I am
making. Ms. Cox s appeal for equality in the interview has a strong emotional pull as well. The
implications of this restriction of public space can be devastating and my use of this interview will try
to capture that. Some keys terms that Ms. Cox uses that I intend to employ throughout my Literature
Review are, existing erasing access . The first two I will incorporate throughout my review as
important terms to use in talking about the social effects that public space have the ability to determine
whether someone exists or not. Access may seem like a very general word, but the ability to access
certain spaces is going to be important for this

Personalized Nutrition and Exercise Plan
Personalized Nutrition and Exercise Plan
University of Phoenix
Leading a nutritious and healthy lifestyle with the incorporation of exercise is the path I am currently
walking on and will continue to follow in my later years. Following the healthy eating plan I currently
put myself on is a step in the right direction and the many steps that will follow will be the guide to a
continuous nutritional lifestyle. I am currently living with relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
MS is an autoimmune disease that causes demyelination. Demyelination occurs when there is loss of
the myelin sheath that insulates the cells in the central nervous system. (Gutierrez, 2009) When an

(United States Department of Agriculture, 2009) Creating a diet to follow is easier planned than
followed. One has to follow successfully aself planned diet, especially when there is a drastic change
from unhealthy foods to healthy foods. Additionally, living in a home where others are not on a diet
can be challenging. Eating with the familywhen only one individual on a diet is a challenge to one s
will power. I can say for myself that my will power is average. Itis hard sometimes when my husband
is eating a steak dinner or fried spicy hot chicken, my favorite. I will give in at times. There were
situations where I completely gave in, but as I continue to educate myself, I have come to realize that
sometimes cheating is not worth because it eventually catches up to one s health in a not so good way.
My approach to avoid having to deal with giving into temptation is to eat before the rest of the family
doesor to eat before I leave work. That way I am not eating late nor will I be hungry by the time I
come home. Another challenge I may come across is if the Multiple Sclerosis becomes aggressivein
my later years where a work out regimen may not be an option. Therapy and medication would have
to be the option to handle the condition if it worsens. Depending on how bad the condition is, I may be
able to incorporate some kind of exercise whether it is just walking or picking up some weights. At
least there will be some kind of physical activity.

Gulf War Syndrome Essay
Gulf War Syndrome
The Gulf War Syndrome was identified after the Gulf War in 1991. Thousands of troops from the US,
British, and Canadian developed symptoms after the war. This Syndrome has been researched since
the end of the Gulf War and still not all the answers have been found. Not only have thousands of
troops suffered from this syndrome, but also their families have developed some symptoms related to
this syndrome. It is important to inform our nation of this new disease because there is still no cure,
and GWS can be our next conflict relating to AIDS and Cancer. This research is dedicated to people

theologian, known as the Apostle to the Gentiles was born a Jew in Tarsus, Rome. As a minor, he was
trained as a rabbi but earned his living as a tentmaker. A zealous Pharisee, he persecuted the first
Christians until a vision of Jesus, experienced while on the road to Damascus, converted him to
Christianity. Three years later he met St. Peter and Jesus brother James and was henceforth recognized
as the 13th Apostle. From his base in Antioch, he traveled widely, preaching to the Gentiles. By

and the Roman Catholic Church as the first of its unbroken succession of popes. Peter a fisherman,
was called to be a disciple of Jesus at the beginning of his ministry. He received from Jesus an
Aramaic appellation Cephas which means Rock. This was translated into Greek as Petros (from the
Greek Petra, rock ) and became a Latin Petrus and the English Peter. Jesus told Peter he was the Rock
upon whom the Christian Church would be built. Throughout the public life of Jesus, Peter is
represented in the Gospel as the Spokesman and principal member of Jesus followers. He is the first
named in the entire list given of these followers and was present with a privilege at few special
occasions, example, the daughter of Jairus brought back to life by Jesus. He was also the first to see
Jesus after his resurrection from the dead. Peter baptized the Roman pagan Cornelius and at the
council of Jerusalem he gave his support to preaching to gentiles. He was imprisoned by King Herod
Agrippa and escaped with the help of an angel. Peter died in Rome during the reign of Emperor Nero.

Legal Advice For The Client
This written assessment is deliberation of legal advice for the client, James, based on his dispute with
his neighbour Lisa; this shall be achieved by means of critical analysis and full reference of pertinent
authority to complement the scope of case facts.
With due consideration of the facts present we can identify that the key legal issue is accession. This
gives us the notion that one [thing] which is united with another [thing] becomes an integral part
component of that other [thing]. It presupposes that one object can be regarded as the main object .

This assessment will determine if the folly has become heritable by annexation , whether there is
functional subordination , then further into the notion of quasi permanency which satisfies the three
elements.
Throughout this assessment we shall also outline Lisa s prospective defences to establish any right of
ownership. This document shall then be concluded with the legal advice obtained through the
authorative methodology.
To begin with, looking at the sandstone model we can then identify its status and ownership through
its classification being established as either moveable or heritable. However, if the structure is held to
be moveable in nature and subject to accession it would become the property of Lisa . The case of
Zahnrad Fabrik Passau GmbH v Terex Ltd. When looking at cases surrounding moveable property,
diminution of efficiency may result as the test of accession . With this in mind, and applied to James
case, the folly rests on its own weight although the site had obviously been prepared for it , it is further
established that the folly is in one part, and needed to be removed by a crane to be replaced by a
replica model due to substantial damage . It can be easily established that the folly has been in situ for
a considerable amount of time and as illustrated in the case facts The plot was very overgrown it was

Give examples of being able to maintain legal and good practice requirements when assessing
occupational competence.
C. In carrying out assessment of occupational competence, I would ask myself:
How effective was my assessment and feedback?
Was there anything I didn t anticipate?
How did I deal with it?
What went well?
What could I improve?
If I had to change anything what would I do differently?

This would be a write up on underpinning questions when a range has not quite been met. This could
also be a write up on a hair style that was achieved, explaining how they went about getting the
achieved look.
Insufficient evidence If a learner hands back their assignment but has not met the criteria covered,
they would be told there was insufficient evidence to complete the assignment. They would be asked
to add the required evidence making the assignment achievable.
Recognising prior learning This would be when a learner has completed a unit in another qualification
within the set time of the national standards. I would check their certification for proof of this and get
the learner to take the test of under pinning knowledge so they would not have to do the same unit
again. I would be able to document this in the learners log book with a RPL form, the form would
need to be signed and dated from the achieved date on the certificate.
C. To plan the assessment of occupational competence to address learner needs and current
achievements.
In my assessment plan I would identify any specific need that the learner may have e.g. Dyslexia (I
would check with the relevant department within the training establishment to see what help could be
offered to the learner i.e. extra time given for assignments and written tests). I would then agree the
level and extent of their current knowledge

The Importance Of Teacher Attrition In Education
Twenty three percent of teachers leave the teaching profession during their first five years of teaching
(Elisa Shernoff, Ane Marín ̃ ez Lora, Stacy Frazier, Lara Jakobsons, Marc Atkins, Deborah Bonner,
2011, p. 465). Teaching has been a career before writing was established, however there has never
been such a high attrition rate in teaching. Attrition is defined as a reduction in workforce without
firing of personnel, as when workers resign or retire and are not replaced (CITATION Dictionary
.com). While the current flow of students training to become teachers is still strong, novice teachers do
not find enough encouragement in their first few years of teaching to remain in the profession. Instead,
their experiences cause them to feel discouraged and disrespected to the point that they do not believe
that teaching is where they belong. This crisis regarding education sustainability needs to be redefined
to include the sustainability of teachers. Sustaining future education relies on creating and hiring
teachers who enjoy being part of a learning environment. The use of student teaching, teacher
collaboration, and less mandated learning goals can lower the teacher attrition rate and sustain
education. Also, although some people believe that other resources are more important to sustain,
education is going to be detrimental to the success of future societies.
Student teaching can help lessen teacher attrition by giving the pre service teacher experience in a
classroom,

The Unrealistic Expectations Of Social Media
It is no secret that social media has taken over a lot of our time, and perception on society. It
influences our day to day lives without us really knowing. Social media usually portrays one s life to
be perfect, or it makes us feel like one s life needs to be perfect. For this reason being, social media
can be a bad thing. In The Social Networks by Neal Gabler, he explains how media has taken away the
meaning of friendship or anything real . In the long run, social media makes things seem better than
they actually are, it gives us unrealistic expectations for our friend and family interactions, which kills
the chance of having actual friendships because our expectations are so high. So, here are the reasons
elaborated on why social media ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fake friends is not referring to people whom you cannot trust, but to the friends that you have on
Facebook and do not actually see in real life. This is a trend that has been seen on most social media
websites. It is also a lot harder to develop true friendships in real life because, as mentioned before,
our unrealistic expectations of friends has made us want the kinds of friends we see on TV. Facebook,
in fact, only underscores how much traditional friendship friendship in which you meet, talk and share
has become an anachronism and how much being friended is an ironic term, expresses Gabler. As
mentioned before Social media networks like Facebook make it seem as though we have more friends
than we actually do. However, in reality we do not really know most of the people we are friends with
on Facebook because being with friends on Facebook is more about the number and not if you
actually know the person or not. Not only do we not know most of our friends on our friends list, but
we get lazy to actually go out and make real friends. It is just so much easier to stay at home and click
the add button. Gabler also points out, One study found that Americans had one third fewer nonfamily
confidants than they had 20 years earlier, and 25% had no one in whom to confide whatsoever.
Another study of 3,000 Americans found that on

Profound, Poetic Rock and Roll by Bob Dylan
While it is widely rumored that many of Bob Dylan s songs were written while he was under the
influence of various drugs, I m not so sure that those rumors are accurate. Following a 1991 interview
conducted by Paul Zollo with Bob Dylan, Zollo stated that There s an unmistakable elegance in Dylan
s words, an almost biblical beauty and that Dylan s answers give you a lot to think about while not
necessarily revealing much about the man . (Zollo 2) The same can be said with regard to many of the
lyrics of Dylan s songs. The lyrics to Mr. Tambourine Man , for example, are wildly descriptive and
sometimes confusing and can leave a listener (or a reader) open to many different interpretations,
some more complex than others, with no real meaning ever being clearly stated.
From the first chorus where the singer is speaking to a Tambourine Man telling him that he s not
sleepy and there is no place he s going to , but in the jingle jangle morning he ll come following you
(lines 1 4), there is confusion. Some guess that the Tambourine Man is a drug dealer, who Dylan
follows to get his fix. Others say that he is a musician who played the tambourine during a music
session with Dylan at one time. Some speculate that the Tambourine Man is a fictional character who
was created by Dylan after attending a Mardi Gras celebration, which, incidentally is when the song is
said to have been written.
While there are many lines in the song/poem that could easily be viewed

The Imbalance Between Uniformity And Diversity
To match beliefs about diversity with practice, it becomes necessary to address the imbalance between
uniformity and diversity. Australia is the biggest example of having multiculturalism. In 2011, the
Census revealed that over a quarter (26%) of Australia s population was born overseas and a further
one fifth (20%) had at least one overseas born parent. This pattern of migration is evident in the make
up of the richly diverse society that has been recorded in the 2011 Census. This diversity can be seen
in the variety of languages, religions, ancestries and birthplaces reported by Australians (Australian
Bureau of Statistics 21 June 2102). Migration is social, cultural, technological, political and economic

A child builds his basic life concepts at Primary age and when he is moved to a different environment
that never existed in his conceptual knowledge, it brings difficulty to him in adjustment. This

the immigrated students in Australia have different culture, different religious beliefs and different
language. Most sensitive dimension of diversity in schools is different religious beliefs of the students.
Equity in schools cannot be achieved by ignoring the different religious beliefs of its students.
To claim equity in schools it is necessary to eradicate the social injustice issues with the students
having different religious beliefs. Talking about religious diversity in a classroom, here is an example.
Upon entering his classroom during homeroom period, Mr. Ortiz, an eighth grade teacher, noticed

arguing about something Nikhil was wearing. Mr. Ortiz asked the other student to explain the
situation. Mr. Ortiz came to know that Nikhil was wearing a swastika pendant in the memory of her
late grandmother, but that pendant was something similar to Nazi symbol which created disruption to
some students. Mr. Ortiz asked Nikhil if he knew

Essay about The Football Player Duane Hanson
What force is so strong that it has the power to bring even the strongest man to his knees? What force
plagues the workforce at all hours of the day? What force prevents continuous work at all times of the
day, making us bow to the night as if to say We are not strong enough ? That force is exhaustion, the
most terrible and rarely conquerable force on earth. As I stood staring at such a life like sculpture in
the confines of a briskly chilly art museum corridor, I could only imagine the amount of exhausted
nights the sculptor had to endure to create his extremely exhausted masterpiece. The sculptor Duane
Hanson and his piece The Football Player most certainly shared the same facial expression at one

The Football Player , I located a similarly themed group of sculptures entitled Korean War Veterans by
Frank Gaylord on Artstor.org. The group of large sculptures is made up of eight life size soldiers of the
Korean war era. Dressed in rain parkas and grim faces while holding their weapons, the soldiers show
a generally exhausted state, most likely from their constant battles. One soldier is pictured giving the
lower ranking soldiers orders in their freeze frame of war, with the others not even acknowledging
their commands with eye contact, instead staring straight ahead or into space. The soldiers all have
quite exhausted expressions and mannerisms, such as squinting eyes and slouched postures, which
help to magnify their tired states. The grey color of the unpainted stone also helps to darken the tone
of the piece. The parallels in the expressions of the various warriors shown in the two pieces on the
football field and on the battlefield brought up an intriguing idea to me. How does the body and mind
respond to the extreme levels of exhaustion caused by their respected stressful situations? How does a
human being survive in such an extreme environment without driving oneself over the edge?
Exhaustion

A Summary Of King Martin XII. 5
King Martin XII.5 was a significant man with an extraordinarily elongated neck. He is the king of
Martinsville. Martinsville is very grubby and musty. It is very dull and unappetizing to live in. The
citizens live in appalling, congested homes that are dirt filling with thousands of rats living side by
side with the humans. The citizens also are mistreated on a daily basis. Unfortunately, King Martin
XII.5 s extraordinary neck turns him into a malevolent king who abuses his power and ruins his
citizens lives. King Martin XII.5 s neck is 12 ½ feet long. Many people died daily from the abusing
from King Martin XII.5´s neck by getting swept off the ground with King Martin XII.5 s neck so high
that they fall to their death.
The citizens of Martinsville are exhausted of the abusing of King Martin XII.5, however, they are too

ask because if you ask Josiah a simple minded question then you ll be killed. The citizens work up the

The Value Of The Jaguar Essay
The jaguar is a highly known animal with notable affiliation in the Pre Columbian Mesoamerican
societies and belief systems. All major Mesoamerican cultures proudly presented a jaguar god. Jaguars
are known for their power and aggressive strength. They are great hunters and one of the big cats that
can tolerate water. Most information that is known about Mayan culture and Mesoamerican societies
comes from the countless and scrupulous findings on stone monuments, murals, documents, adorned
vases, and conventional sources, where we can survey that the Maya carried out religious exercises
with most of these objects. This is evident of the Mayan jaguar lidded vessel from the Fresno Art
Museum. Vessels are vases that were used not for just funerary purposes, but also for rituals, offerings,
and a plethora of other daily activities. Other important details about jaguar symbolism in
Mesoamerican cultures include the fact that the word for jaguar, bahlam, appears in many of the
names of Mayan kings than any other animals. This is not surprising since the jaguar is the mighty
emperor of crafty force. Andrea Stone and Marc Zender state in their book, Reading Maya Art: A
Hieroglyphic Guide to Ancient Maya Paintings and Sculptures, that, The jaguars ferocity made it an
ideal insignia of warriors who wore jaguar parts to wear it like a badge of honor, whether it was the
head, skin, tail, or paws. To spread out jaguar skin was an expression for war, and

The Battle Of Malvern Hill
The Battle of Malvern Hill:
Field Artillery played a significant role in many battles during the Civil War. The Battle of Malvern
Hill is one such instance. Located in Henrico County VA, Malvern Hill sits South East of Richmond
just north of the James River. This battle is part of The Peninsula Campaign (March September 1862)
and more specifically the Seven Days Battle. The Seven Days Battle was a series of six battles starting
on June 25, 1862 at The Battle of Oak Grove and ending at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862. During the
battle, artillery in both armies had a drastic effect on the outcome whether good or bad. In this paper,
we will discuss the initial disposition of troops as well as the challenges faced by each army, the
actions taken once hostilities initiated and the outcome of the battle. In conclusion, we will discuss the
lessons learned from this battle as it pertains to the Field Artillery as well as the relevance of the
lessons learned to the modern day battlefield.
Union Forces At this time, Major General George B. McClellan commanded the Union Army of the
Potomac although he would be relieved of command soon after this battle by President Abraham
Lincoln despite the battle being a Union victory. M.G. McClellan was relieved because of a difference
in tactical decision making between M.G. McClellan and President Lincoln. At the beginning of this
battle, he had 89,000 men under his command although not all of that number saw action in this battle.

end up fighting with violent possums and other daring animals if you do so. Instead, collect hair or fur
after grooming your pet and place the collected hair inside small net bags. Then, hang these bags or
directly scatter the hair around sections where possums are frequently seen.
3. Spread anything with a potent smell
Mothballs, garlic and ammonia have scents that these animals tend to run away from. So, pour a bit of
ammonia inside a coffee tin with a cover and place a cloth inside. Then, bring an end of the cloth up
an opening cut in the cover. The cloth will function by way of a wick in dispersing the odor.
Place a container in each area where the possums meet. You may also scatter mothballs surrounding
areas where you noticed activities of possums. You could enclose the mothballs inside a netting bag as
an alternative to scattering them individually all over the place.
As for garlic, place a piece of mashed garlic inside any vicinity that you wish your neighborhood
animals to keep away from. Crushing garlic stays better than using whole ones since mashing

Disease Trends and the Delivery of Health Care Services HCA/240 January 26, 2014 Disease Trends
and the Delivery of Health Care Services Demographics and disease trends will influence health care
delivery services in the future in many different ways. Not only will the current aging population
affect the delivery of health care services because of its rapid growth, but also obesity. Obesity is one
of the more serious problems facing our nation today, and will only get worse unless the
implementation of programs to educate the public on the many health issues this condition can cause
to prevent them from happening. Moreover, not only does the health care delivery system need to

Jacobsen, Kent, Lee, Mather (2011) stated, Since women live longer than men in the United States,
women will continue to make up a majority of the older population in the foreseeable future (pg. 3).
Whereas, this age distribution among men and women are expected to remain approximately the same
between 2009 and 2030, there will be notable changes in the age and gender gap by 2050 as the gap
grows smaller (Jacobsen, Kent, Lee, Mather, 2011). Furthermore, according to Vincent Velkoff (2010),
by the year 2042 the United States will become more racially and ethnically diverse with the
combined minority population expected to become the majority. Thus, as people in the United States
age over the next several decades, the older population will also become a more racially and ethnically
diverse group. In addition, the overall age structure of the population is expected to change a great
deal over the next four decades (Vincent Velkoff, 2010). This will pose even more challenges to policy
makers and programs designed to help the elderly like Medicare and Social Security. Therefore, being
able to project the size and structure of the older population, in regards to age, sex, race, and Hispanic
origin is not only important to public interest, but also private both socially and economically (Vincent
Velkoff, 2010). Another factor that supports this trend includes the environmental factors. The health

How Does Emily Bronte Create Tension In Wuthering Heights
Many people, will consider Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte to be an intense love story; kinda like
Romeo and Juliet on the Yorkshire Moors. However this story is one of revenge that arises from love.
Wuthering Heights is a multi generational Gothic romance that centres around the doomed love
between Heathcliff, an orphan and Catherine Earnshaw, the daughter of Heathcliff s adopted father.
Heathcliff grows in his adopted family, till he is reduced into a servant and runs away when Catherine

Inequality In Education
Inequality Among Latinos in Academic Achievement in Higher Education
The Latino community has made strides forward when it comes to education. Adriana Kohler and
Melissa Lazarin, analysists for education reform for the National Council of La Raza, reports that The
growth of the Latino student population has significantly surpassed that of other ethnic/racial groups
(2). Even with these strides, the Latino community still faces obstacles in higher education. Kohler
and Lazarin further report that although Latino enrollment in institutions of higher education has
increased, Latinos are still less likely than non Latinos to be enrolled in or graduate from college (10).
It is important in understanding the obstacles that the Latino community face in accessing higher
education and through advocacy and legislation, help to support educational achievement and
resources to that effect.
These efforts have had a proven positive effect as to slowly changing the gender role orientations
favoring Latina women becoming more independent. It has created a shift from a traditional
housewife role to a more professional role and egalitarian view over the past few decades. This shift
has also created an issue that is underreported. Claudia Buchman from the Sociology Department at

Rae Swent s The Red River Campaign
The historical play, The Red River Campaign written by Rae Swent was about ten thousand Union
soldiers invading a vulnerable Alexandria, Louisiana. The play s narrative was from the point of view
of Union generals, Confederate generals, and a teenage boy, who questions his father about the Civil
War. Duncan Graham, played by Ray Pence, begins asking his father, George Mason Graham, about
the Union occupation in Alexandria during the Civil War. While, there is the presences of an
adolescent son, the only other characters are older and middle aged men. The play is the history of the
Red River campaign and written from those who planned its strategy, but the lack of diversity in
gender, age, and characters that were not soliders made the production stale. Also, Duncan and George
Graham speaking to one another directly, and all the other characters directly address the audience
makes the narrative inconsistent and at times hard to understand. While the audience might understand
that Nathaniel Banks led the Union s army and David Dixon Porter led the Union s naval fleet but the
awkward narrative made it hard to understand details like battle plans and battle locations. ... Show

Lady Macbeth s Sleepwalking Essay
Lady Macbeth s sleepwalking scene from Act V, Scene I was interpreted very well from both Artus
Scheiner s painting and Michael Lynch s stage adaptation. Lynch s stage adaptation of the play
provides a great sense of connection with Lady Macbeth. The dimmed lights and the darkened stage
gave the scene such an intense and eerie feeling. Scheiner s painting presents Lady Macbeth as scary
with her long black hair that covers most of her face and her mouth wide open. Her being dressed in
white and holding a lit candlestick, brings a bit light to such a dark painting. Although Scheiner s
painting is very detailed with the darkness of her hair, her white nightgown, and the dark colors of the

Lynch s stage interpretation of Lady Macbeth s sleepwalking scene in Macbeth s Shakespeare
provides a clear understanding of the scene with detailed colors, tones, figures, and landscapes.
Characterization: Lady Macbeth is sleepwalking/talking. The Doctor has seen this before but has no
idea what to do. Theme: Darkness is dangerous. Use of Language: Yet here s a spot. Shakespeare is
telling us that Lady Macbeth still sees blood on her hands from her involvement in the murder.
Shakespeare wants the audience to see that Lady Macbeth s actions led her to guilty sleepwalking and
rubbing her hands to wash the bloody spots away. In this scene, Shakespeare s decision to make Lady
Macbeth sleepwalk makes her look like she subconsciously regrets her part in Duncan s murder. Lady
Macbeth s downfall leads to the theme, Darkness is Dangerous. Artus Scheiner illustrates Lady
Macbeth as somewhat scary by giving her black long hair that covers most of her face and her mouth
wide open. Lady Macbeth is dressed in white and carrying a candlestick, which gives the darkened

Essay about Frankenstein and Bladerunner
It s not so much about survival but more about the quality of life
To what extent can this statement be applied to the two texts you have studied this year?
Survival is the continuing to live or exist, especially in difficult conditions, whereas
The quality of life is the fulfillment and personal satisfaction a person has with one s life. Percy
Shelley s novel Frankenstein (1818) and Ridley Scotts film Blade Runner (1982) both demonstrate a
struggle for quality of life within their texts. The texts show that it is not so much about a being s
survival, but about their undeniable want for quality in their life. We can see this issue expressed
through the ideas of compassion and humanity, autonomy and freedom, along with the basic ... Show

It is questioning humanity on how a creation can absorb emotions. How can a mere creation display
such compassion? This is outlining the monster is no longer concerned with simply surviving, but
more concerned with experiencing and understanding every aspect and quality of life.
We are also shown the idea of humanity and compassion in the film Blade Runner . The replicants are
only seen as objects. This is shown through the repetition of the reference to replicants as it . It shows
the lack of compassion and humanity and to have quality of life you need a certain degree of this.
Blade Runner also illustrates that it may not be the replicants fault for their need to survive but lacking
of the quality of life. The film noir expresses the films artificial and depressing world with
dehumanized buildings and dark eerie environments. This makes you ask is this world forgetting
about humanity? Their quest for survival is only one step into gaining quality of life as the world they
live in now does not contain all elements needed to acquire this.
Frankenstein expresses a clear idea of freedom and autonomy. Shelley portrays the monster as lonely
and only wanting to fit in. With the use of characterization we can see the monster feels locked out
from the world; his emotions explain to us his feeling of being trapped. This shows no freedom for the
monster. With no freedom he forgets about the need to survive, and focuses solely on gaining

Before the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), also known as
Obamacare, numerous doctors turned down care for their patients. The Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act is part of the Democratic Congress and President Barack Obama s effort to
reform the American health care system, provide health insurance to millions of uninsured Americans
and lower costs associated with health care ( Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act. ). Many
have argued that Obamacare is a socialist government takeover of the health care system, however

Vada Sultenfuss In My Girl
The movie I have chosen to explore is My Girl. The main character, Vada Sultenfuss, is an 11 year old
girl experiencing middle childhood with her best friend, Thomas J (Zieff, 1991). This paper will cover
the following points, identity and self esteem, gender roles and sexuality, and dealing with death in
middle childhood.
Identity and self esteem
According to Erik Erikson s eight stages of grief, the main character is in stage four, industry versus
inferiority. Between the ages of five and twelve, industry versus inferiority occurs. During this time if
the child cannot develop a specific skill he/she feels society is demanding then the probability of
experiencing feelings of inferiority is highly likely (Sigelman and Rider, 2015).

bargaining, depression, and acceptance. There is not a set amount of time for any stage, a stage may be

experiences death twice during the movie, with her mother and her best friend.
Vada s mother died from complications of giving birth to Vada. Vada is stuck in the stage of
depression because she believes she is at fault for her mother s death. Through the first half of the
movie, Vada is so sure she is dying that she has become a hypochondriac. She takes herself to the
doctor to let him know she is dying. She lays on the floor writhing in false pain and dying. Vada feels
so guilty about causing her mother s death, that she feels she needs to be punished. The ultimate
punishment for Vada would be her own death. The expression of her feelings and her father s
willingness to listen and explain might have propelled Vada through the stages and on to

as a weapon of war. During the genocide of Rwanda, a whopping 250,000 women fell victim to this
act. This terrible crime has also been used in the civil war of Sierra Leone, the breakup of Yugoslavia,
war in Liberia, and war in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Sexual violence has also characterized
conflicts in many Islamic nations. The UN has helped countries implement laws that criminalize war
rape, and prevent perpetrators from punishment exemption. Although the UN has made mistakes in
the past, lessons are learned and improvements are made. One such mistake was the massacre of
Srebrenica. During the Yugoslavian War, ethnic groups were fighting for independence, and
eventually, Yugoslavia broke apart. Today, Yugoslavian land is owned by Croatia, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Serbia, and other Eastern European nations. The town of Srebrenica was meant to be a
safe haven for Bosnian Muslims. The UN authorized the town as a safe zone, with 60 Dutch
peacekeepers guarding the town. However, peace came to catastrophe in July 1995, and Serbs were
coming to invade. To start off the massacre, Serbs shelled the city, and took 30 Dutch peacekeepers
hostage. Dutch Colonel Thom Karremans asked the UN for air support. However, the UN did not
respond, thinking everything was under control. As the days followed, more men and boys were
killed. At the end of the massacre, the Dutch

Solubility of a Salt
Introduction
Mixture is two or more materials that can be physically separated, and there are two types of mixture:
heterogeneous and homogeneous. In heterogeneous, the different components of the mixture can be
seen separately. However, homogenous is the term of mixture which all components stick together to
be uniform. Also, in a mixture we have solvent and solute. A solvent is the major part of solution
which dissolves the solute, and solute is the part of solution that is being dissolved. Therefore the
combination of solvent and solute is solution which is a type of homogenous mixture. For example, if
water is the solvent and lemon juice and sugar are the solute, lemonade is the solution. Also, every
solution has its own solubility which is the maximum amount of solute that will dissolve in a solvent
under certain condition. A solution can be saturated, unsaturated, and super ... Show more content on

The Effect Of Solar And On Earth
Most solar storms produce a variety of effects on our planet. The intensity of a solar storm increase
gradually, the storm can begin to develop the capacity to create a major disaster on Earth. The variety
of intensity of solar storm is like the difference between being hit with a tropical rainstorm and being
devastated by a Category 5 hurricane. Oak Ridge National Laboratories estimated that only a solar
storm just slightly stronger than the 13 March 1989 storm would have the capacity to produce a
cascading blackout involving the entire Northeastern sector of the United States and other effect on
the terrestrial biological systems. So the question is what are the components of Solar Flares? How
does it cause damages? What are they? Are there any measures to mitigate the risks? This paper

Definition and Impacts Introduction
Solar storms consist of three major components: solar flares, solar proton events (SPEs) and coronal

Psychoanalysis In English Literature
Psychoanalysis applied to English Literature material
During this semester, we studied many English literature theories. We started with New Criticism and
ended last week with cultural studies. By far, the most interesting one for me was Psychoanalysis
because it helped me understand the possible reasons behind actions and behaviors. Sometimes we
read literature without even thinking why things unfold the way they do but after reading the
psychoanalysis theories by Sigmund Freud along with some readings by Parker and Tyson I have
found myself understanding texts differently. I am going to expose how psychoanalysis relates to the
following texts: A P short story, Passing by Nella Larsen, The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald and
the movie The Crying Game by Neil Jordan.
First, in the A P story by John Updike we can see how Sammy experiences projection when he starts
taking it on his boss. Apparently, he is overwhelmed by his job but getting mad at him for treating
three girls in a mean way is not the main reason why he chooses to quit, I believe his real motive is the
unhappiness of being a young adult who has not done much with his life. He is stuck at this store and
wants to get out but might not know how. I also think that Sammy does not have a clear idea of self
because he is defined by what he does not want to be. For instance, he does not want to be like his
coworker Stokesie or his manger Lengel nor his parents who seem to be poor. The concept of self is

Character Analysis Of Avengers Age Of Ultron
Although not comic accurate, his arrogance and imperiousness compels him to build the artificial
intelligence Ultron in an attempt to create a suit of armour around the world . Of course, Stark s self
righteous plan fails and his creation becomes the new super villain of the film Avengers: Age of Ultron
(2015). In spite of this, his character remains appealing because, in the netherworld of our
unconscious is our constant propensity to return to a state of primary narcissism (Peaslee 2005:online).
Furthermore, with reference to Freudian theory, The Reluctant Psychoanalyst (2015) claims that the
concrete representation of psychologically separate aspects of ourselves as individual elements pre
dated but anticipated a development within psychoanalytic theory of dream interpretation where one
layer of an interpretation is to consider whether each of the characters within a particular dream might
be representing aspects of the dreamer s personality a part of him or herself, as it were, that can be
quite different than other aspects of the self . If approached in the light of Freud, Avengers: Age of
Ultron can be interpreted as a dream and, therefore, the viewer as the dreamer. If this is the case, such
narcissistic superheroes could be characterizing not just part of our identification with powerful, self
absorbed others, but a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hitler s Abolishment of Relationships
In 1939 September 1st, a man with ambition set out to achieve his goal, the total control over the
European continent, which many of the previous rulers had failed to accomplish. Adolf Hitler, the man
with such ambition, committed the worst genocide ever known to humankind with the support of his
fellow Nazi party of Germany. This forced six million Jews to work in concentration camps. They
were constantly humiliated, tortured, and murdered by various inhumane methods. Such actions
eventually succeeded in wiping out one third of the Jewish population in Europe. The book The
concentration camps not only physically and psychologically damaged the people, it tore apart many
different relationships that were initially solid, resulting in the loss of faith in humanity.
During their enslavement at the concentration camps, the Jewish fundamental belief of benevolence
and preeminence are shredded to pieces. Jewish people lived in small, packed communities prior to
the war, with their religion deeply rooted in. Their devoted faith has its base on the idea that the world
revolves around the God. They believe the world, therefore, must good because God s divinity reaches
on every aspect of their lives. However, the Jews faith in the goodness of God is irreparably shaken
due to the horrors witnessed in the concentration camps. In the story, the Jews faith in God started to
waver at the sight of giant smokes rising from the smoke stacks of the Birkenau concentration camp.

  • 2. Public Space Papers I will be exploring the theme of public space first as a general concept, dissecting what the phrase means and how it s been used in global conversation. Then, I will give a few examples of how public space manifests itself in the world. For instance, a possible point of discussion could be the North Carolinian act HB2 that requires individuals to use bathrooms that correspond with the sex listed on their birth certificate, a clear discriminatory move against the trans community. Public space is a concept integral to cities, their conception, and their development. A city is an intricate web of public and private spaces. Navigating those spaces can be a challenge for some citizens of a city. The ever adapting nature of the city means that, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I have mentioned many times over, public space is so much more than just a physical area. It is a web of complex processes and rules (written or unwritten) about who can exist where. Segregating water fountains, relegated low income housing to certain areas, restricting trans peoples use of bathrooms these are all clear messages that, You do not belong in this space. This space is not for you. The personal nature of this source, being a quote from an actual trans woman who has experienced this type of oppression, will hopefully provide both a refreshing break from the variety of academic sources that I am including and will persuade the reader to further see the merit of the argument I am making. Ms. Cox s appeal for equality in the interview has a strong emotional pull as well. The implications of this restriction of public space can be devastating and my use of this interview will try to capture that. Some keys terms that Ms. Cox uses that I intend to employ throughout my Literature Review are, existing erasing access . The first two I will incorporate throughout my review as important terms to use in talking about the social effects that public space have the ability to determine whether someone exists or not. Access may seem like a very general word, but the ability to access certain spaces is going to be important for this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Personalized Nutrition and Exercise Plan Personalized Nutrition and Exercise Plan University of Phoenix Leading a nutritious and healthy lifestyle with the incorporation of exercise is the path I am currently walking on and will continue to follow in my later years. Following the healthy eating plan I currently put myself on is a step in the right direction and the many steps that will follow will be the guide to a continuous nutritional lifestyle. I am currently living with relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS is an autoimmune disease that causes demyelination. Demyelination occurs when there is loss of the myelin sheath that insulates the cells in the central nervous system. (Gutierrez, 2009) When an attack occurs unpredictably, it can last a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (United States Department of Agriculture, 2009) Creating a diet to follow is easier planned than followed. One has to follow successfully aself planned diet, especially when there is a drastic change from unhealthy foods to healthy foods. Additionally, living in a home where others are not on a diet can be challenging. Eating with the familywhen only one individual on a diet is a challenge to one s will power. I can say for myself that my will power is average. Itis hard sometimes when my husband is eating a steak dinner or fried spicy hot chicken, my favorite. I will give in at times. There were situations where I completely gave in, but as I continue to educate myself, I have come to realize that sometimes cheating is not worth because it eventually catches up to one s health in a not so good way. My approach to avoid having to deal with giving into temptation is to eat before the rest of the family doesor to eat before I leave work. That way I am not eating late nor will I be hungry by the time I come home. Another challenge I may come across is if the Multiple Sclerosis becomes aggressivein my later years where a work out regimen may not be an option. Therapy and medication would have to be the option to handle the condition if it worsens. Depending on how bad the condition is, I may be able to incorporate some kind of exercise whether it is just walking or picking up some weights. At least there will be some kind of physical activity. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Background information about Peter Saint Peter the Apostle, original name Simeon, or Simon (died AD 64, Rome), disciple of Jesus Christ, recognized in the early church as the leader of the disciples and the Roman Catholic Church as the first of its unbroken succession of popes. Peter a fisherman, was called to be a disciple of Jesus at the beginning of his ministry. He received from Jesus an Aramaic appellation Cephas which means Rock. This was translated into Greek as Petros (from the Greek Petra, rock ) and became a Latin Petrus and the English Peter. Jesus told Peter he was the Rock upon whom the Christian Church would be built. Throughout the public life of Jesus, Peter is represented in the Gospel as the Spokesman and principal member of Jesus followers. He is the first named in the entire list given of these followers and was present with a privilege at few special occasions, example, the daughter of Jairus brought back to life by Jesus. He was also the first to see Jesus after his resurrection from the dead. Peter baptized the Roman pagan Cornelius and at the council of Jerusalem he gave his support to preaching to gentiles. • 11. The Importance Of Teacher Attrition In Education Twenty three percent of teachers leave the teaching profession during their first five years of teaching (Elisa Shernoff, Ane Marín ̃ ez Lora, Stacy Frazier, Lara Jakobsons, Marc Atkins, Deborah Bonner, 2011, p. 465). Teaching has been a career before writing was established, however there has never been such a high attrition rate in teaching. Attrition is defined as a reduction in workforce without firing of personnel, as when workers resign or retire and are not replaced (CITATION Dictionary .com). While the current flow of students training to become teachers is still strong, novice teachers do not find enough encouragement in their first few years of teaching to remain in the profession. Instead, their experiences cause them to feel discouraged and disrespected to the point that they do not believe that teaching is where they belong. This crisis regarding education sustainability needs to be redefined to include the sustainability of teachers. Sustaining future education relies on creating and hiring teachers who enjoy being part of a learning environment. The use of student teaching, teacher collaboration, and less mandated learning goals can lower the teacher attrition rate and sustain education. Also, although some people believe that other resources are more important to sustain, education is going to be detrimental to the success of future societies. Student teaching can help lessen teacher attrition by giving the pre service teacher experience in a classroom, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Unrealistic Expectations Of Social Media It is no secret that social media has taken over a lot of our time, and perception on society. It influences our day to day lives without us really knowing. Social media usually portrays one s life to be perfect, or it makes us feel like one s life needs to be perfect. For this reason being, social media can be a bad thing. In The Social Networks by Neal Gabler, he explains how media has taken away the meaning of friendship or anything real . In the long run, social media makes things seem better than they actually are, it gives us unrealistic expectations for our friend and family interactions, which kills the chance of having actual friendships because our expectations are so high. Fake friends is not referring to people whom you cannot trust, but to the friends that you have on Facebook and do not actually see in real life. This is a trend that has been seen on most social media websites. It is also a lot harder to develop true friendships in real life because, as mentioned before, our unrealistic expectations of friends has made us want the kinds of friends we see on TV. Facebook, in fact, only underscores how much traditional friendship friendship in which you meet, talk and share has become an anachronism and how much being friended is an ironic term, expresses Gabler. As mentioned before Social media networks like Facebook make it seem as though we have more friends than we actually do. However, in reality we do not really know most of the people we are friends with on Facebook because being with friends on Facebook is more about the number and not if you actually know the person or not. Not only do we not know most of our friends on our friends list, but we get lazy to actually go out and make real friends. It is just so much easier to stay at home and click the add button. Profound, Poetic Rock and Roll by Bob Dylan While it is widely rumored that many of Bob Dylan s songs were written while he was under the influence of various drugs, I m not so sure that those rumors are accurate. Following a 1991 interview conducted by Paul Zollo with Bob Dylan, Zollo stated that There s an unmistakable elegance in Dylan s words, an almost biblical beauty and that Dylan s answers give you a lot to think about while not necessarily revealing much about the man . (Zollo 2) The same can be said with regard to many of the lyrics of Dylan s songs. The lyrics to Mr. Tambourine Man , for example, are wildly descriptive and sometimes confusing and can leave a listener (or a reader) open to many different interpretations, some more complex than others, with no real meaning ever being clearly stated. From the first chorus where the singer is speaking to a Tambourine Man telling him that he s not sleepy and there is no place he s going to , but in the jingle jangle morning he ll come following you (lines 1 4), there is confusion. Some guess that the Tambourine Man is a drug dealer, who Dylan follows to get his fix. Others say that he is a musician who played the tambourine during a music session with Dylan at one time. Some speculate that the Tambourine Man is a fictional character who was created by Dylan after attending a Mardi Gras celebration, which, incidentally is when the song is said to have been written. All major Mesoamerican cultures proudly presented a jaguar god. Jaguars are known for their power and aggressive strength. They are great hunters and one of the big cats that can tolerate water. Most information that is known about Mayan culture and Mesoamerican societies comes from the countless and scrupulous findings on stone monuments, murals, documents, adorned vases, and conventional sources, where we can survey that the Maya carried out religious exercises with most of these objects. This is evident of the Mayan jaguar lidded vessel from the Fresno Art Museum. Vessels are vases that were used not for just funerary purposes, but also for rituals, offerings, and a plethora of other daily activities. Other important details about jaguar symbolism in Mesoamerican cultures include the fact that the word for jaguar, bahlam, appears in many of the names of Mayan kings than any other animals. This is not surprising since the jaguar is the mighty emperor of crafty force. Andrea Stone and Marc Zender state in their book, Reading Maya Art: A Hieroglyphic Guide to Ancient Maya Paintings and Sculptures, that, The jaguars ferocity made it an ideal insignia of warriors who wore jaguar parts to wear it like a badge of honor, whether it was the head, skin, tail, or paws. Vada is stuck in the stage of depression because she believes she is at fault for her mother s death. Through the first half of the movie, Vada is so sure she is dying that she has become a hypochondriac. She takes herself to the doctor to let him know she is dying. She lays on the floor writhing in false pain and dying. Vada feels so guilty about causing her mother s death, that she feels she needs to be punished. To ensure progression and growth, society must embrace organizations which support improving the quality of human life. The United Nations is one such organization that has ensured the well being of the human race by collaborating internationally on how to tactically approach conflicts. From combating terrorism to eradicating smallpox, the United Nations has resolved numerous foreign issues and international crises. The organization has also been working to prevent sexual violence. Unrightfully, rape has been used as a weapon of war. During the genocide of Rwanda, a whopping 250,000 women fell victim to this act. This terrible crime has also been used in the civil war of Sierra Leone, the breakup of Yugoslavia, war in Liberia, and war in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Sexual violence has also characterized conflicts in many Islamic nations. The UN has helped countries implement laws that criminalize war rape, and prevent perpetrators from punishment exemption. Although the UN has made mistakes in the past, lessons are learned and improvements are made. One such mistake was the massacre of Srebrenica. During the Yugoslavian War, ethnic groups were fighting for independence, and eventually, Yugoslavia broke apart. Today, Yugoslavian land is owned by Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and other Eastern European nations. The town of Srebrenica was meant to be a safe haven for Bosnian Muslims. The UN authorized the town as a safe zone, with 60 Dutch peacekeepers guarding the town. However, peace came to catastrophe in July 1995, and Serbs were coming to invade. To start off the massacre, Serbs shelled the city, and took 30 Dutch peacekeepers hostage. Dutch Colonel Thom Karremans asked the UN for air support. However, the UN did not respond, thinking everything was under control. As the days followed, more men and boys were killed. At the end of the massacre, the Dutch ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Solubility Of A Salt Lab Report Sozi Hassan Section 3 November 7, 2016 Solubility of a Salt Introduction Mixture is two or more materials that can be physically separated, and there are two types of mixture: heterogeneous and homogeneous. In heterogeneous, the different components of the mixture can be seen separately. However, homogenous is the term of mixture which all components stick together to be uniform. Also, in a mixture we have solvent and solute. A solvent is the major part of solution which dissolves the solute, and solute is the part of solution that is being dissolved. Therefore the combination of solvent and solute is solution which is a type of homogenous mixture. For example, if water is the solvent and lemon juice and sugar are the solute, lemonade is the solution. Also, every solution has its own solubility which is the maximum amount of solute that will dissolve in a solvent under certain condition. A solution can be saturated, unsaturated, and super ... We bought four tubes and full it with four different amounts of KNO3. The amounts were: (2,4,6,and8 )gram of KNO3. So, we measured the amount of KNO3 by using balance, and we put the KNO3 to each tube. 4. We put the tubes into the beaker which was boiling, and we left then until the KNO3 dissolved in the water. 5. After the dissolve of KNO3, we took of the tubes and left them until they cool. When the tubes cooled, we measured their temperatures. Data and results Saturation Temperature (ͦ C) Convert to g/100ml Mass Kno3

  • 33. The Effect Of Solar And On Earth Most solar storms produce a variety of effects on our planet. The intensity of a solar storm increase gradually, the storm can begin to develop the capacity to create a major disaster on Earth. The variety of intensity of solar storm is like the difference between being hit with a tropical rainstorm and being devastated by a Category 5 hurricane. Oak Ridge National Laboratories estimated that only a solar storm just slightly stronger than the 13 March 1989 storm would have the capacity to produce a cascading blackout involving the entire Northeastern sector of the United States and other effect on the terrestrial biological systems. So the question is what are the components of Solar Flares? How does it cause damages? What are they? Are there any measures to mitigate the risks? This paper dissects and analyzes the various threats created by Great solar storms and provide some Theorell experiences and research details that entail the phenomena and its effects. Solar Flares: Definition and Impacts Introduction Solar storms consist of three major components: solar flares, solar proton events (SPEs) and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). CMEs can interact with Earth s magnetic field to produce a geomagnetic storm. Not all solar storms produce all three elements but the largest solar storms tend to. (James. A Maruesk 2007) Recent scientific information indicates that an extreme solar storm cycle activity producing Geomagnetically Induced Currents (GIC) is predicted to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Psychoanalysis In English Literature Psychoanalysis applied to English Literature material During this semester, we studied many English literature theories. We started with New Criticism and ended last week with cultural studies. By far, the most interesting one for me was Psychoanalysis because it helped me understand the possible reasons behind actions and behaviors. Sometimes we read literature without even thinking why things unfold the way they do but after reading the psychoanalysis theories by Sigmund Freud along with some readings by Parker and Tyson I have found myself understanding texts differently. I am going to expose how psychoanalysis relates to the following texts: A P short story, Passing by Nella Larsen, The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald and the movie The Crying Game by Neil Jordan. First, in the A P story by John Updike we can see how Sammy experiences projection when he starts taking it on his boss. Apparently, he is overwhelmed by his job but getting mad at him for treating three girls in a mean way is not the main reason why he chooses to quit, I believe his real motive is the unhappiness of being a young adult who has not done much with his life. He is stuck at this store and wants to get out but might not know how. I also think that Sammy does not have a clear idea of self because he is defined by what he does not want to be. For instance, he does not want to be like his coworker Stokesie or his manger Lengel nor his parents who seem to be poor. The concept of self is clearly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Character Analysis Of Avengers Age Of Ultron Although not comic accurate, his arrogance and imperiousness compels him to build the artificial intelligence Ultron in an attempt to create a suit of armour around the world . Of course, Stark s self righteous plan fails and his creation becomes the new super villain of the film Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). In spite of this, his character remains appealing because, in the netherworld of our unconscious is our constant propensity to return to a state of primary narcissism (Peaslee 2005:online). Furthermore, with reference to Freudian theory, The Reluctant Psychoanalyst (2015) claims that the concrete representation of psychologically separate aspects of ourselves as individual elements pre dated but anticipated a development within psychoanalytic theory of dream interpretation where one layer of an interpretation is to consider whether each of the characters within a particular dream might be representing aspects of the dreamer s personality a part of him or herself, as it were, that can be quite different than other aspects of the self . If approached in the light of Freud, Avengers: Age of Ultron can be interpreted as a dream and, therefore, the viewer as the dreamer. If this is the case, such narcissistic superheroes could be characterizing not just part of our identification with powerful, self absorbed others, but a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 37. Hitler s Abolishment of Relationships In 1939 September 1st, a man with ambition set out to achieve his goal, the total control over the European continent, which many of the previous rulers had failed to accomplish. Adolf Hitler, the man with such ambition, committed the worst genocide ever known to humankind with the support of his fellow Nazi party of Germany. This forced six million Jews to work in concentration camps. They were constantly humiliated, tortured, and murdered by various inhumane methods. Such actions eventually succeeded in wiping out one third of the Jewish population in Europe. The book The concentration camps not only physically and psychologically damaged the people, it tore apart many different relationships that were initially solid, resulting in the loss of faith in humanity. During their enslavement at the concentration camps, the Jewish fundamental belief of benevolence and preeminence are shredded to pieces. Jewish people lived in small, packed communities prior to the war, with their religion deeply rooted in. Their devoted faith has its base on the idea that the world revolves around the God. They believe the world, therefore, must good because God s divinity reaches on every aspect of their lives. However, the Jews faith in the goodness of God is irreparably shaken due to the horrors witnessed in the concentration camps. In the story, the Jews faith in God started to waver at the sight of giant smokes rising from the smoke stacks of the Birkenau concentration camp. The sight ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
