Charles Perkins Hall Of Fame
Have you ever been inspired by a hero because our technology today can make anybody a hero in an
instant and can be applied today without much thought. We need to evaluate what it takes to be a
hero and how they affect us. Heroes inspire us to improve our lives and make us a better person.
Evidence suggests they determine the way we behave because we admire, adore, emulate them,
place them in high regard and respect their accomplishments. Their qualities of courage,
selflessness, humility, patience, caring, passion, integrity, honesty and confidence are all attributes
that we all posses but it is whether we use them or not.
My name is Liam Kerr and I am going tell you why Charles Perkins should be inducted into the Hall
of Fame. Charles Perkins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fictional character of Superman has weaknesses as does Charles Perkins, which leads to
constant struggles to stay in power. Ultimately, he has these flaws so we can relate to him. So it goes
without question that Superman and Charles Perkins desire was to improve the world with their
power, instead of using it for their personal gain. Both of their upbringings were for the benefit of
the community. Evidence suggests that both of them have two guardians such as birth parents and
people who raised them. Inevitably, Superman wants fame because he doesn't hide his identity and
obviously wants people to know who their saviour is. Ultimately, Charles Perkins wants the same.
The similarity makes them timeless. He wants to be noticed, wants to make a difference and finally
wants to be remembered. Unfortunately, Superman will be never accepted in the modern world
because of his exceptional powers therefore will be an outcast. Obviously, he realises no human can
achieve what he has. On the other hand Charles Perkins is not accepted because of his race and
colour. He is of a mixed race and not accepted by his family members and unfortunately is not
accepted by the whites. He is in no man's land and doesn't fit in. Therefore, regardless of what he
has achieved, he will always be an

NFL Hall Of Fame
Despite a long history of success, the Broncos have been vastly under–represented in the NFL Hall
of Fame. Although, there are four former Broncos in the Hall of Fame, there are teams that have had
much less success that have more players in the Hall. As Michael Jaycox at Mile High Sports once
stated: "There are five franchises with over 20 Hall of Famers, eight with over 15, and 14 with over
10; yet, the Broncos can muster just four."[1] This goes to show that there seems to be some bias
against the Broncos in Canton, Ohio. Even with those four exceptions, three of those took obscene
amounts of time to be enshrined. There have been several players and organizational members with
far less notable careers who were enshrined without question. ... Show more content on

Hall Of Fame Script
1. Hall of Fame– The Script ft. Will.i.am I think that Finley, the main character in Boy 21, a novel
by Matthew Quick should listen to this song in the beginning of the story. When the story starts,
Finley and his girlfriend Erin are eating breakfast and getting ready to start training. I feel that
Finley would listen to this song when he is training with his girlfriend, after they ate breakfast in the
morning. The reason I think he should listen to this song is because it is very motivational. The song
is about how you can do anything you want, as long as you are dedicated to it. It is a very uplifting
song and is perfect for Finley to listen to, especially because he is training for his senior basketball
season, and he is very dedicated. Some lyrics of the song are: "You can throw your hands up You
can beat the clock You can move a mountain You can break rocks You can be a master Don't wait for
luck Dedicate yourself and you can find yourself Standing in the hall of fame." These lyrics are
encouraging you to do anything you want, and if Finley listened to this song it would lead him to
train harder and be more focused and dedicated to his training. I chose this song because it is very
fitting for this part of the story. It will help Finley be more determined to be the best basketball ...

Imagine this. Your Hank Aaron the all time home run leader, and you just got the message that Barry
Bonds has broken your record. Days later you find out that Bonds, the man who surpassed you has

are players who cheated there way to success, and broke clean player's records. So, what other way
is there to punish them except to not let them in the Hall of Fame? Therefore, baseball players who

Chris Cochrane sports Columnist for the "Chronicle Herald" stated in his article titled "Keep Them
Out of Baseball's Hall of Fame" that "The one weapon the baseball world retains to punish the star
offenders is to bar them from its Hall of Fame. For selfishness and arrogance on this large a scale,
that's a justifiable punishment." Chris talks about here that there really isn't another way to punish
these men besides not letting them into the Hall of Fame. There is the usual suspension that anybody
can get, but a lot of times people usually find out after the player is retired so the suspension does
not good. When a player takes some of the banned substances he is just being selfish and making
himself better without even training that much. Many of these players denied the fact that they took
substances especially steroids for year, and then later admit to it. Yet, many of these players get
suspensions, shouldn't that be enough? However players get suspensions for anything, even
something small. These players can ruin the game, they deserve more than just a suspension.
Overall, these players need a rightful punishment for their actions and banning them from the Hall
of Fame is that

The Hall Of Fame: The Physics Of Bowling
It was the 2012 US Open. Pete Weber needed three strikes to win the title against Mike Fagan. He
threw his first shot, a strike. He knocked down all ten pins for the first strike. He throws another
great shot, and another strike up on the scoreboard for Weber. He needs one more strike to win. How
will he do it? By using the physics of bowling. Bowling is considered a life–long sport, but the
bowling ball, when thrown, has physics that determines the number of pins that fall down.
To start off, the basics of bowling are very simple, yet very important. One of the origins of bowling
was believed to be in 3200 B.C. in Egypt. A British anthropologist, Sir Flinders Petrie, dug up a
grave that appeared to have remains of a crude form of bowling. ... Show more content on

The lane is a very important part of bowling– without it, there wouldn't be anything to throw the ball
onto. The distance from the approach to the foul line is 15–16 ft. From the foul line to the dots is 6
ft. The distance from the foul line to the arrows is 15 ft. The length from the foul line to the pins is
60 ft. There are many different types of lane surfaces– wood, synthetic, guardian, and lane shield. A
wood lane with a water based finish is very soft and will have lots of friction. A wood lane with an
epoxy urethane finish is a bit harder than a wood lane with a water based finish, but still will have a
lot of friction. On a lane with a wood overlay, also known as guardian and lane shield, there is a lot
of friction with early backend reaction. The most popular synthetic lane is a Brunswick Pro–
Anvilane. It is the hardest surface and has less friction. You can use more aggressive equipment,
such as a Marvel S and Crux without the ball rolling too early. These lanes also have four range

The Baseball Hall Of Fame
In August 1989, a decision shocked the baseball community as one of the game's biggest icons, Pete
Rose, agreed to permanent ineligibility from major league baseball activities for betting on his own
team as both a player and manager. As a result, he was also banned for life from the Baseball Hall of
Fame. A month ago, in September 2015, MLB's all–time hits leader met with the commissioner of
baseball, Rob Manfred, regarding the possibility of being granted induction into the Baseball Hall of
Fame. This has once again sparked debate and divides baseball fans everywhere. There is no
obvious correct answer and no sign of compromise. While some people firmly believe that Rose
should be in the Hall of Fame for his record–smashing career, others believe he should be left out
for the betting he did as a coach and a player.
Pete Rose's play on the field is clear testament and obvious proof he is deserving of being inducted
into the Hall of Fame. From the effort he put into every play earning him the nickname "Charlie
Hustle", to all the individual records and World Series rings he has earned, Pete Rose is a sure fire
nominee to the Hall of Fame. He is remembered as one of the most dominating hitters of all time,
"The man was an incredible offensive player and nothing can take that away from him. With
numbers like his, there is no question that he is more than deserving of a place in the Hall" (Dunn).

An Argument For Rose In The Hall Of Fame
"Baseball is the only field of endeavor where a man can succeed three times out of ten, and be
considered a good performer." – Ted Williams. When referring to all time greats in the world of
baseball you will hear about the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Jackie
Robinson, and Ernie Banks. None of these men have the most hits in baseball's storied history. The
man that does, however, is not in the Hall of Fame.
There have only been 15,213 men to play in the MLB, only 29 of those accumulated 3,000 career
hits. Peter Edward Rose Sr, better known as just Pete, played Major League Baseball for 23 years. In
his 22nd season (1985) he surpassed Ty Cobb as baseball's all time hit king with 4,256 hits. In 1989,

He has had many supporters for his reinstatement over the years. Washington Nationals closer
Jonathan Papelbon said "He should be in the Hall of Fame, One Hundred Percent, if you don't want
to put him in as a manager, put him in as a player, he didn't make any mistakes as a player." (Isn't It
Time to Forgive Pete Rose and Put Him in Hall of Fame?) Similarly, Hall of Fame second baseman
Joe Morgan thinks it is long past–time for his long–time teammate Pete Rose to join him in
Cooperstown. "I think if you are going to allow guys with PEDs on the ballot, then we have to allow
him on the Ballot," Morgan told USA Today. "Let's face it, he's been punished for 24 years. I think
they have to take a second look at Pete now that this (Biogenesis) has come out". (Joe Morgan: Time
for Hall of Fame to Induct Pete Rose) You could ask "What will reinstating Pete Rose do for
baseball?" really any answer would be valid. The right question to ask is "What will not reinstating
Pete Rose due for baseball?" (Rethinking Rose's Reinstatement) He wouldn't be immediately
inducted into Cooperstown if reinstated. Major League Baseball's Committee will have to vote Pete
Rose in the Hall of Fame if the ban were removed. The Hall of Fame is controlled by Major League
Baseball, nevertheless there is no Hall of Fame without the players. If the players were to show a
united front for Rose, it could mean a great deal to the Commissioner and other high ranking
baseball officials (Should Pete Rose Be in the Hall of Fame? Let the Voters Decide). For his
enshrinement into Cooperstown Pete would need 75% of the votes of the 65 member committee. If
Rose were to be reinstated, he would not appear on the BBWAA ballot, however, he would
immediately appear on the ballot of the Expansion Era Committee. Nevertheless, the Cincinnati
Reds announced that the "Hit King" would be inducted into their Hall of

Hall of Famer? Major League Baseball (MLB) has always been one of the worst offenders of
players engaging in questionable behavior. With the MLB featuring as a key example in the steroid
debate, how can the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) electors decide which
players are eligible to be inducted into the Hall of Fame? Located in Cooperstown, New York, the
National Baseball Hall of Fame is in anticipation for new members. An election is held each year, no
later than January 15th, for players to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The electors from BBWAA
consist of retired baseball players, which have been active writers for the BBWAA for at least ten
years. These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These candidates should not get the benefit of the doubt for playing during a time where steroids
were commonly used. Taking steroids is a choice; any player willing to take steroids is giving up the
honor of being inducted into the Hall of Fame (Shipigel B17). A prime example of steroid
controversy on the Hall of Fame ballot is Mark McGwire. McGwire (pictured left) hit 583 home
runs, including what was once a record of 70 in the 1998 season for the St. Louis Cardinals.
McGwire's career was tainted when he was caught with Androstenedione in his locker during the
1998 season. Androstenedione better known as Andro, is a steroid precursor which is banned from
baseball. When McGwire was questioned about steroid use at a Congressional hearing on March 17,
2005, he repeatedly said, "I'm not here to discuss the past" (qtd. in McGwire Unlikely). This
damaged McGwire's candidacy for the Hall of Fame ballot by raising the suspicion of drug use,
influencing BBWAA writers not to vote for him. McGwire has received close to a 25 percent vote
on the ballot the three–years running up to 2012. Not nearly the 75 percent needed for induction.
Several BBWAA writers discussed their stance on McGwire's silence at the Congressional hearing;
that it was a tacit admission that he used steroids while playing. McGwire needs to clarify his past
and explain whether or not he used steroids, in order to maintain his integrity and character. When
evaluating McGwire's 16 year

The Baseball Hall Of Fame
It's that time of the year again, for Baseball Writers' Association of America to vote for who they
believe should be candidates for the Baseball Hall of Fame. The conversation of steroids always
pops up at this time because some of the most prolific baseball players have been known to use
steroids, such as Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, and Alex Rodriguez. These guys have been proven
that they used the enhancing drug, but these are some of the league's best players of all time and
they aren't getting the representation that they deserve. The system needs to be changed because it is
keeping great ball players out of this superior club. The Hall of Fame is meant for the greatest in the
game, and it is the biggest honor you can get in baseball. Just because they took an illegal substance
a couple times shouldn't ruin their reputations and their whole career. For example, Babe Ruth, he
played over half of his career under the influence of alcohol during the prohibition era. Shouldn't
disqualify him from being in the Hall of Fame, since he was performing a criminal act? I wouldn't
think so. These men deserve the same treatment. The best way to prevent this is to legalize the use
of steroids and look at the player's stats and performance. It is also key to look at the player's
character but this is where they say that the steroid users fail in getting votes for the Hall of Fame.
For some reason, they think that since you took steroids that you are a horrible person and aren't

Softball Hall Of Fame Essay
A baseball umpire, a former city manager, a sponsor of sports teams for all ages and a youth
baseball coach have been inducted into the Rittman Recreation Center's Sports & Leisure Hall of
Fame.
Director Garrick DiSalvo presented the awards during the Rittman Area Chamber of Commerce
Annual Awards Dinner earlier this month.
"Kenny Deibel has been umpiring in Rittman longer than I have been on this earth," DiSalvo said of
the three decades Diebel spent serving as an umpire for baseball and softball games. "An
outstanding softball player in his own right, Kenny has the recognition in being a member of three
softball halls of fame and the greater Akron Hall of Fame."
Deibel was named to the National Senior Softball Hall of Fame in 2001 and at ... Show more

But, DiSalvo assured the audience he was on a beach "thinking of us!"
Former City Manager Bob Kellogg was instrumental in making the recreation center a reality.
DiSalvo read a letter from Kellogg who grew up not far from the Pro Football Hall of Fame
expressing his gratefulness to be inducted into this hall.
Kellogg said his vision was for the recreation center to become the social hub for the community,
and he was glad to see it was done. He also thanked others who were involved in it, like former
finance director Jim Bell and John Lunter and Nick Bostos for their years of service on the
recreation board of directors.
Tom Calabria, owner of Dom's, has sponsored many youth and high school teams and events.
DiSalvo said Calabria has run "the fat man's" basketball program for years, "where on Wednesday
nights guys who think they still have it get together and play what we think is basketball."
"Tom was also the driving force in men's softball for numerous years, not only running the leagues
but helping to maintain the fields for all who use it," DiSalvo said.
The final inductee was Ray Christian. DiSalvo said it takes a special type of person to coach a youth
team, but to do it for 25 years might take someone who is

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
Throughout time music has been constantly changing and evolving, eventually causing it form to
what it is today. As time has gone on, different genres of music have been introduced and became
popular such as Rock n Roll, Blues, EDM etc. However, regardless of the genre of music, they have
all come together to modernize and serve the purpose of entertaining the audience. If I were to
induct modern musical artists, due to their popularity and overall impact on society, into the Rock n
Roll Hall of Fame it would consist of: Dr. Dre, Drake, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. I personally
believe Dr. Dre would be the first one on this list that would be inducted. Being eligible in 2017, Dr.
Dre is more than qualified to enter the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

Hall Of Fame Research Paper
Do you think Pete Rose should be allowed in the Hall of Fame? If not, you're very salty. Eighty–
seven percent of people on debate.org who voted on this topic think he should be allowed in the Hall
of Fame. They're reasons are he is the all–time hit leader, everyone deserves a second chance, etc.
Pete Rose should be allowed in the Baseball Hall of Fame since the star athlete did not use steroids,
has the most hits all–time, and was wrongly accused of betting on the game, not just betting on the
Reds.
Steroid users are allowed, why not Pete Rose? Steroids or using illegal performance enhancing
drugs is cheating. When players such as McGwire, Bonds, A–Rod, or Braun say things such as "it
never helped me hit better" or, "I used it to recover ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No one takes away from him the achievements that have brought him such tremendous recognition,
but the game has suffered enough blows to it's image and it's integrity. The same principle that
applies to Rose applies to the steroid users who have depleted the game's reputation in recent years:
as a member of the nation's pastime, you have a duty to uphold it's greatness with honesty, humility,
and dignity, and to forsake this and deface it's image makes you ineligible to be places among its
most hallowed halls. Rose took advantage of his managerial position and all wrongdoing and
roadblocks have been imposed on Pete Rose BY PETE ROSE. His actions were not "harmless" or
irrelevant; they've dishonored the game's reputation and broken it's sacred rules. I don't see anyone
rushing to put Joe Jackson in, and he was a better all–around player than Rose was. (debate.org user,
on should pete rose be allowed in hall of fame). There's not much of a point in having a Major
League Baseball Constitution if you're not going to follow it. Whether or not you agree with the
rules, they are printed clearly on everyone's contract. Rose didn't just bet on baseball when he was
the Reds manager, it was also found that he bet on them as a player and manager in the 1980s. Rose

The Theme Of Idiom In 'Hall Of Fame'
Theme. It helps us understand the meaning of a poem, story, music, or essay. A theme is the lesson
taught when you're reading. Sometimes the author wants you to find the theme easily, others want
you to search and think about it. Some wait till the end to show you a lesson. A theme can be many
things, it can be to not be mean, or to treat others the way you want to be treated, and in these
particular stories, it's about completing tasks and being happy! Today we're going to convey the
theme of "Hall of Fame" and "As I grew Older" and compare it to 'being successful'
A theme in songs can help you point out what an author is trying to say, some want you to see it
clearly, just like this one. "Hall Of Fame" really talks about prosperity and ... Show more content on

In the text,"And the wall slowly rose, Rose slowly, Slowly, Between me and my dream" It
anticipates the falling of his dream. When the reader keeps seeing the word "slowly" he or she gets
deeper involved in the text. When the author says "Between me and my dream" the reader sees this
and might frown. Maybe the reader has had something like this happen in the past and
automatically, the poem becomes emotionally involved in the reader's life. Some people really like
to incorporate their feelings while reading, it makes them connect to the passage they are reading
more. But as the reader keeps going, they read how the author or person is breaking through the
wall, "Only the thick wall. Only the shadow. My hands! My dark hands! Break through the wall!"
This passage clearly states the person wants to better themselves so they can become happy and
their dream is finally reached as it says, "Into a thousand lights of sun, Into a thousand whirling
dreams Of sun!" This part of the text states that the person has finally met his goal, and is now
happy. The reader might connect to this because after their hardship, maybe they broke through also.
The theme stated in these two stories match almost the same. In "Hall Of Fame" it talks about how
you can be standing in the hall of fame if you dedicate your time and effort into trying, also in "As I
Grew Older," in the end, it talks about how you

When thinking of teachers or professors who deserve to be in the Teacher Hall of Fame, there are
two people who come to mind that have the makings of a great teacher. The first one was in high
school my junior year, Mrs. Kritch, who was my pre–calculus teacher. She was a great teacher
because she was tough in teaching math as well as controlling the classroom yet very helpful. Mrs.
Kritch had very high expectations from the students in their behavior and work ethic. She taught
strategies and gave step–by–step instructions to help students understand all the different concepts
and was very patient in helping them. She was very generous with her time, spending it with
students after school to work with them on various lessons with which they were struggling. She
also helped students from math classes other than hers who weren't grasping the concepts in those
classes. Another great thing about Mrs. Kritch is that she was understanding of all her students on a

Pete Rose And The Hall Of Fame
My controversial topic is on Pete Rose and how he should be inducted into Baseball's Hall of Fame.
Pete Rose was a player that I looked up to when I was a young boy playing baseball. I was a big fan
of his collecting all of his baseball cards from rookie year up to the present time. Now, most of the
baseball critics and others do not want Pete Rose inducted. They claim that his illegal betting on
baseball games should keep him out of the Hall of Fame.
Almost all of the "highly questionable" evidence that Commissioner Bart Giamatti held was derived
from former friends and associates of Rose. "Up to $30,000 per day", so some of Roses ' "close"
friends say. These former friends of Rose are Tommy Gioiosa, Donald Stenger, Mike Fry, and Paul
Janszen. This evidence is what prompted the banishment from baseball of Pete Rose, which he
signed. The evidence was enough for the Commissioner. In 1989, baseball 's Commissioner Bart
Giammati suspended Pete Rose from association with professional baseball for life for gambling.
Rose also spent five months in a minimum–security prison for tax evasion in 1990. He did not report
cash money he accepted for signing baseballs and photographs at baseball card shows. It is still to
this day not proven that Rose "did" bet on the baseball team that he was managing. Rose himself
still holds true to his statement that he never bet on the game of baseball. Evidence is minimal and it
has been over ten years, yet he is still ineligible to be voted into

As I continued reading, I started understanding as soon the students went in– depth on how the Hall
of Fame ballot works. I comprehended the information that was stated of how ANN/FANN works.
Especially, through the tables/graph that this research paper displayed. In my perspective, I think
that the problem and the solution was presented effectively. This paper provided enough information
to the point where any individual, regardless if he or she is a baseball fan, can understand the
problem. In other words, the position of the baseball player is significant when it comes to
predictions. This is due to the reason that this position has lower offensive expectation in order to
enter the HOF. So to prevent that from happening, ANN will treat this position as a non– numeric
data. To put it differently, every player will be valued through the ratio of games played at each
position instead. In this case, these students found a solution for this problem. Although, I am not a
huge baseball fan, but I believe there is a possible different way on how to approach this problem.
Another way is instead of calculating the ratio of how many games played at each position, is to
calculate how many times they have been in the starting line– up. By being in the starting line– up,
this can boost up their chances of entering the HOF. The offensive players have it easy because of
how much action they have on the field, but if a defensive player is in the starting line– up, then that
player may have the same expectations as the offensive

The Song Of The Song 'Hall Of Fame'
"You could be the greatest, you can be the best, you can be the King Kong banging on your chest",
starts the song "Hall of Fame". "Hall of Fame" is a powerful song with an encouraging meaning.
The song is by The Script, which is a rock band. It also features Will.i.am, who is a popular music
artist. Will.i.am is part of the band "Black Eyed Peas" and has produced music for other singers as
well. When listening to music, it is one of my favorite songs. The song is amazing because it
consists of beautiful piano playing, passionate vocals, and an inspirational meaning. It is not a calm,
quiet song, but also not a heavy metal song. The rhythm for "Hall of Fame" changes throughout the
song. "Hall of Fame" starts off with a piano playing very fast. But then it starts progressing, getting
more upbeat, with the piano only playing chords while the drum and bass take over. In the
background you can clearly hear the piano rapidly speed up again at the main chorus. It then repeats
for the next verse and then the chorus. For the bridge, the piano changes again, this time to a soft
short background melody. Various other instruments can be heard in the bridge as well. The tempo
changes a little throughout the song, but for the most part it stays the same. Since it isn't a sad song,
it is considered to be in the major key. "Hall of Fame" is an upbeat song with a nice rhythm. In
addition to the musical element, the vocals in this song are strong and passionate. Starting off is an

The Hall Of Fame For College Basketball
The Hall of Fame for college basketball players was on the wall. It had just recently been updated
after the Hall of Fame presentation of Saturday. I had just woken up feeling cold. I looked out the
window of my dorm to see the dark, cloudy day outside with the rain pelting down on the window
pane. I was still really tired after the late night of getting praised on my amazing basketball skills,
finally I had been recognized and everyone was telling me that I needed to declare that I'm joining
the NBA as soon as possible! I then declared for the NBA draft halfway through my season.
The election for the new president was going on at that moment, but he wasn't really interested in
the elections, he heard on the radio what the soon to be president didn't like and what he did. The
main thing he heard though was that he didn't like basketball, how could anyone not like basketball?
How could I get rid of this new president to be? I looked up on the black market on the deep dark
web for an assassin. There were a few ads in there for Hit man's pest control and Hit man agent. I
rang the Hit man agent and there was a muffled voice coming over the phone, I could barely
understand him. I told him that I wanted the election to be stopped and the person who was winning
the election to be killed, and cover up your tracks well! There was one thing I didn't want to happen.
I didn't want to be arrested just as I was about to get into the NBA. No one would want me on their
team when they

I'm not trying to take anything away from Ichiro –– he's had a Hall of Fame career –– but the next

"I don't think you're going to find anybody with credibility say that Japanese baseball is equivalent
to Major League Baseball. There are too many guys that fail here and then become household names
there, like Tuffy Rhodes. How can he not do anything here and hit [a record–tying] 55 home runs [in
2001] over there? It has something to do with the caliber of personnel."
There's no need to approach this historic career with this mentality. What Ichiro has done in his time
in the states is nothing short of phenomenal. His career overall is without a debate a first ballot
Hall–Of–Fame one.
The weirdest fact in it all, is Ichiro is still a great hitter. In 55 games, he is averaging .349, and has
44 hits. A lifestime .300 hitter, ten straight 200+ hits seasons (Japan and MLB), and will still more
than likely collect over 3,000 hits in the states in 15 seasons. He will turn 43 on Oct. 22. Only two

  • 4. Charles Perkins Hall Of Fame Have you ever been inspired by a hero because our technology today can make anybody a hero in an instant and can be applied today without much thought. We need to evaluate what it takes to be a hero and how they affect us. Heroes inspire us to improve our lives and make us a better person. Evidence suggests they determine the way we behave because we admire, adore, emulate them, place them in high regard and respect their accomplishments. Their qualities of courage, selflessness, humility, patience, caring, passion, integrity, honesty and confidence are all attributes that we all posses but it is whether we use them or not. My name is Liam Kerr and I am going tell you why Charles Perkins should be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Charles Perkins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fictional character of Superman has weaknesses as does Charles Perkins, which leads to constant struggles to stay in power. Ultimately, he has these flaws so we can relate to him. So it goes without question that Superman and Charles Perkins desire was to improve the world with their power, instead of using it for their personal gain. Both of their upbringings were for the benefit of the community. Evidence suggests that both of them have two guardians such as birth parents and people who raised them. Inevitably, Superman wants fame because he doesn't hide his identity and obviously wants people to know who their saviour is. Ultimately, Charles Perkins wants the same. The similarity makes them timeless. He wants to be noticed, wants to make a difference and finally wants to be remembered. Unfortunately, Superman will be never accepted in the modern world because of his exceptional powers therefore will be an outcast. Obviously, he realises no human can achieve what he has. On the other hand Charles Perkins is not accepted because of his race and colour. He is of a mixed race and not accepted by his family members and unfortunately is not accepted by the whites. He is in no man's land and doesn't fit in. Therefore, regardless of what he has achieved, he will always be an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. My Experience In My Life Stomp, stomp, stomp! That's all that the 12 year old boy David Henry heard day after day. That's because he was shipped with his Dad to the military. Then one day on the ship that the Army likes to call the submaripper. It was called the submaripper because the ship was 40 acres in total and could sink a ship by just ramming into it. Another 12 year old boy came to David who was quietly waiting for any excitement below deck. He said his name was Tanner and like David his mom was shipped to the military. They quickly became friends and started talking. Tanner said, "He always wanted to be a professional basketball player and wanted to go to the hall of fame." But one day the government came and took him and his mom away from the rest his family. Then David started thinking "Wait I just realized" he said. "I don't really remember meeting my mom." "Really Why do you think that," said Tanner. "Well I was taken away at the age of 3 and now I feel like there's so much more to my life. "Like was my mom rich and lived in a mansion or went on crazy adventures all the time?" "After I was 7 my Dad finally told me how we got to the Army." "I guess I've been sad and angry lately." Then he told Tanner how he wanted to be a comedian. He said that he was really good at making his school friends laugh and wanted to make people around the world laugh too. He said he even thought about making a radio station for nothing, but comedy. Then the general comes down and says to the boys "Load ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. NFL Hall Of Fame Despite a long history of success, the Broncos have been vastly under–represented in the NFL Hall of Fame. Although, there are four former Broncos in the Hall of Fame, there are teams that have had much less success that have more players in the Hall. As Michael Jaycox at Mile High Sports once stated: "There are five franchises with over 20 Hall of Famers, eight with over 15, and 14 with over 10; yet, the Broncos can muster just four."[1] This goes to show that there seems to be some bias against the Broncos in Canton, Ohio. Even with those four exceptions, three of those took obscene amounts of time to be enshrined. • 15. Hall Of Fame Script 1. Hall of Fame– The Script ft. Will.i.am I think that Finley, the main character in Boy 21, a novel by Matthew Quick should listen to this song in the beginning of the story. When the story starts, Finley and his girlfriend Erin are eating breakfast and getting ready to start training. I feel that Finley would listen to this song when he is training with his girlfriend, after they ate breakfast in the morning. The reason I think he should listen to this song is because it is very motivational. The song is about how you can do anything you want, as long as you are dedicated to it. It is a very uplifting song and is perfect for Finley to listen to, especially because he is training for his senior basketball season, and he is very dedicated. Some lyrics of the song are: "You can throw your hands up You can beat the clock You can move a mountain You can break rocks You can be a master Don't wait for luck Dedicate yourself and you can find yourself Standing in the hall of fame." These lyrics are encouraging you to do anything you want, and if Finley listened to this song it would lead him to train harder and be more focused and dedicated to his training. Days later you find out that Bonds, the man who surpassed you has taken steroids. How do you feel? Angry, mad, or even disappointed? If so you have the right. There are players who cheated there way to success, and broke clean player's records. So, what other way is there to punish them except to not let them in the Hall of Fame? Chris talks about here that there really isn't another way to punish these men besides not letting them into the Hall of Fame. There is the usual suspension that anybody can get, but a lot of times people usually find out after the player is retired so the suspension does not good. When a player takes some of the banned substances he is just being selfish and making himself better without even training that much. Many of these players denied the fact that they took substances especially steroids for year, and then later admit to it. Yet, many of these players get suspensions, shouldn't that be enough? • 23. The Hall Of Fame: The Physics Of Bowling It was the 2012 US Open. Pete Weber needed three strikes to win the title against Mike Fagan. He threw his first shot, a strike. He knocked down all ten pins for the first strike. He throws another great shot, and another strike up on the scoreboard for Weber. He needs one more strike to win. How will he do it? By using the physics of bowling. Bowling is considered a life–long sport, but the bowling ball, when thrown, has physics that determines the number of pins that fall down. To start off, the basics of bowling are very simple, yet very important. One of the origins of bowling was believed to be in 3200 B.C. in Egypt. A British anthropologist, Sir Flinders Petrie, dug up a grave that appeared to have remains of a crude form of bowling. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many different types of lane surfaces– wood, synthetic, guardian, and lane shield. A wood lane with a water based finish is very soft and will have lots of friction. A wood lane with an epoxy urethane finish is a bit harder than a wood lane with a water based finish, but still will have a lot of friction. On a lane with a wood overlay, also known as guardian and lane shield, there is a lot of friction with early backend reaction. The most popular synthetic lane is a Brunswick Pro– Anvilane. • 25. • 27. The Baseball Hall Of Fame In August 1989, a decision shocked the baseball community as one of the game's biggest icons, Pete Rose, agreed to permanent ineligibility from major league baseball activities for betting on his own team as both a player and manager. As a result, he was also banned for life from the Baseball Hall of Fame. A month ago, in September 2015, MLB's all–time hits leader met with the commissioner of baseball, Rob Manfred, regarding the possibility of being granted induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. This has once again sparked debate and divides baseball fans everywhere. There is no obvious correct answer and no sign of compromise. While some people firmly believe that Rose should be in the Hall of Fame for his record–smashing career, others believe he should be left out for the betting he did as a coach and a player. Pete Rose's play on the field is clear testament and obvious proof he is deserving of being inducted into the Hall of Fame. From the effort he put into every play earning him the nickname "Charlie Hustle", to all the individual records and World Series rings he has earned, Pete Rose is a sure fire nominee to the Hall of Fame. He is remembered as one of the most dominating hitters of all time, "The man was an incredible offensive player and nothing can take that away from him. With numbers like his, there is no question that he is more than deserving of a place in the Hall" (Dunn). Pete Rose finished his career as the league 's leader in hits, at ... • 35. An Argument For Rose In The Hall Of Fame "Baseball is the only field of endeavor where a man can succeed three times out of ten, and be considered a good performer." – Ted Williams. When referring to all time greats in the world of baseball you will hear about the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Jackie Robinson, and Ernie Banks. None of these men have the most hits in baseball's storied history. The man that does, however, is not in the Hall of Fame. There have only been 15,213 men to play in the MLB, only 29 of those accumulated 3,000 career hits. Peter Edward Rose Sr, better known as just Pete, played Major League Baseball for 23 years. In his 22nd season (1985) he surpassed Ty Cobb as baseball's all time hit king with 4,256 hits. In 1989, Rose gambled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Washington Nationals closer Jonathan Papelbon said "He should be in the Hall of Fame, One Hundred Percent, if you don't want to put him in as a manager, put him in as a player, he didn't make any mistakes as a player." (Isn't It Time to Forgive Pete Rose and Put Him in Hall of Fame?) Similarly, Hall of Fame second baseman Joe Morgan thinks it is long past–time for his long–time teammate Pete Rose to join him in Cooperstown. "I think if you are going to allow guys with PEDs on the ballot, then we have to allow him on the Ballot," Morgan told USA Today. "Let's face it, he's been punished for 24 years. I think they have to take a second look at Pete now that this (Biogenesis) has come out". (Joe Morgan: Time for Hall of Fame to Induct Pete Rose) You could ask "What will reinstating Pete Rose do for baseball?" really any answer would be valid. The right question to ask is "What will not reinstating Pete Rose due for baseball?" (Rethinking Rose's Reinstatement) He wouldn't be immediately inducted into Cooperstown if reinstated. Major League Baseball's Committee will have to vote Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame if the ban were removed. The Hall of Fame is controlled by Major League Baseball, nevertheless there is no Hall of Fame without the players. If the players were to show a united front for Rose, it could mean a great deal to the Commissioner and other high ranking baseball officials (Should Pete Rose Be in the Hall of Fame? Let the Voters Decide). For his enshrinement into Cooperstown Pete would need 75% of the votes of the 65 member committee. If Rose were to be reinstated, he would not appear on the BBWAA ballot, however, he would immediately appear on the ballot of the Expansion Era Committee. Major League Baseball (MLB) has always been one of the worst offenders of players engaging in questionable behavior. With the MLB featuring as a key example in the steroid debate, how can the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) electors decide which players are eligible to be inducted into the Hall of Fame? Located in Cooperstown, New York, the National Baseball Hall of Fame is in anticipation for new members. These candidates should not get the benefit of the doubt for playing during a time where steroids were commonly used. Taking steroids is a choice; any player willing to take steroids is giving up the honor of being inducted into the Hall of Fame (Shipigel B17). A prime example of steroid controversy on the Hall of Fame ballot is Mark McGwire. McGwire (pictured left) hit 583 home runs, including what was once a record of 70 in the 1998 season for the St. Louis Cardinals. McGwire's career was tainted when he was caught with Androstenedione in his locker during the 1998 season. Androstenedione better known as Andro, is a steroid precursor which is banned from baseball. When McGwire was questioned about steroid use at a Congressional hearing on March 17, 2005, he repeatedly said, "I'm not here to discuss the past" (qtd. in McGwire Unlikely). This damaged McGwire's candidacy for the Hall of Fame ballot by raising the suspicion of drug use, influencing BBWAA writers not to vote for him. McGwire has received close to a 25 percent vote on the ballot the three–years running up to 2012. Not nearly the 75 percent needed for induction. Several BBWAA writers discussed their stance on McGwire's silence at the Congressional hearing; that it was a tacit admission that he used steroids while playing. McGwire needs to clarify his past and explain whether or not he used steroids, in order to maintain his integrity and character. When evaluating McGwire's 16 year ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. The Baseball Hall Of Fame It's that time of the year again, for Baseball Writers' Association of America to vote for who they believe should be candidates for the Baseball Hall of Fame. The conversation of steroids always pops up at this time because some of the most prolific baseball players have been known to use steroids, such as Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, and Alex Rodriguez. These guys have been proven that they used the enhancing drug, but these are some of the league's best players of all time and they aren't getting the representation that they deserve. The system needs to be changed because it is keeping great ball players out of this superior club. The Hall of Fame is meant for the greatest in the game, and it is the biggest honor you can get in baseball. Just because they took an illegal substance a couple times shouldn't ruin their reputations and their whole career. For example, Babe Ruth, he played over half of his career under the influence of alcohol during the prohibition era. Shouldn't disqualify him from being in the Hall of Fame, since he was performing a criminal act? I wouldn't think so. These men deserve the same treatment. The best way to prevent this is to legalize the use of steroids and look at the player's stats and performance. It is also key to look at the player's character but this is where they say that the steroid users fail in getting votes for the Hall of Fame. For some reason, they think that since you took steroids that you are a horrible person and aren't ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 65. Pete Rose And The Hall Of Fame My controversial topic is on Pete Rose and how he should be inducted into Baseball's Hall of Fame. Pete Rose was a player that I looked up to when I was a young boy playing baseball. I was a big fan of his collecting all of his baseball cards from rookie year up to the present time. Now, most of the baseball critics and others do not want Pete Rose inducted. They claim that his illegal betting on baseball games should keep him out of the Hall of Fame. Almost all of the "highly questionable" evidence that Commissioner Bart Giamatti held was derived from former friends and associates of Rose. "Up to $30,000 per day", so some of Roses ' "close" friends say. These former friends of Rose are Tommy Gioiosa, Donald Stenger, Mike Fry, and Paul Janszen. This evidence is what prompted the banishment from baseball of Pete Rose, which he signed. The evidence was enough for the Commissioner. In 1989, baseball 's Commissioner Bart Giammati suspended Pete Rose from association with professional baseball for life for gambling. Rose also spent five months in a minimum–security prison for tax evasion in 1990. He did not report cash money he accepted for signing baseballs and photographs at baseball card shows. It is still to this day not proven that Rose "did" bet on the baseball team that he was managing. Rose himself still holds true to his statement that he never bet on the game of baseball. Evidence is minimal and it has been over ten years, yet he is still ineligible to be voted into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 67. Baseball Hall Of Fame In Machine Learning with Baseball Hall of Fame, portrays 3 figures comparing the Hall of Fame Ballots vs. the predictions. Moreover, this differentiation is recorded every year by a machine: the Artificial Neural Network(ANNs). However, these college students at George Fox University utilize the Fast Artificial Neural Network(FANN) toolkit for their research on predicting which players have the potential to be elected to the Hall of Fame for Baseball. The Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs) is slowly a burgeon tool that is highly utilize in the Major League Baseball organization. Additionally, this sport has data that is significant for the domain. The domain includes 30,000 players evaluated to narrow it down to around 250 players, so the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I continued reading, I started understanding as soon the students went in– depth on how the Hall of Fame ballot works. I comprehended the information that was stated of how ANN/FANN works. Especially, through the tables/graph that this research paper displayed. In my perspective, I think that the problem and the solution was presented effectively. This paper provided enough information to the point where any individual, regardless if he or she is a baseball fan, can understand the problem. In other words, the position of the baseball player is significant when it comes to predictions. This is due to the reason that this position has lower offensive expectation in order to enter the HOF. So to prevent that from happening, ANN will treat this position as a non– numeric data. To put it differently, every player will be valued through the ratio of games played at each position instead. In this case, these students found a solution for this problem. Although, I am not a huge baseball fan, but I believe there is a possible different way on how to approach this problem. Another way is instead of calculating the ratio of how many games played at each position, is to calculate how many times they have been in the starting line– up. By being in the starting line– up, this can boost up their chances of entering the HOF. The offensive players have it easy because of how much action they have on the field, but if a defensive player is in the starting line– up, then that player may have the same expectations as the offensive ... The Beatles got so far into the hall of fame. 3 reasons the Beatles were in the hall of fame is because they were one of the first boy bands, they wrote the majority of their own songs, they spent several years pre–Beatlemania honing their performance skills. First, they were one of the first boy bands. The Beatles played their own instruments. The Beatles' roots were equally modest. According to https://www.rockhall.com/inductees/beatles, "In modern parlance, the Beatles were one of the first boy bands, although there was nothing pre–fab or manufactured about them." That is important because it tells you what the Beatles were and what was about them. Second, they wrote majority of their own songs. This Beatles ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 71. The Song Of The Song 'Hall Of Fame' "You could be the greatest, you can be the best, you can be the King Kong banging on your chest", starts the song "Hall of Fame". "Hall of Fame" is a powerful song with an encouraging meaning. The song is by The Script, which is a rock band. It also features Will.i.am, who is a popular music artist. Will.i.am is part of the band "Black Eyed Peas" and has produced music for other singers as well. When listening to music, it is one of my favorite songs. The song is amazing because it consists of beautiful piano playing, passionate vocals, and an inspirational meaning. It is not a calm, quiet song, but also not a heavy metal song. The rhythm for "Hall of Fame" changes throughout the song. "Hall of Fame" starts off with a piano playing very fast. But then it starts progressing, getting more upbeat, with the piano only playing chords while the drum and bass take over. In the background you can clearly hear the piano rapidly speed up again at the main chorus. It then repeats for the next verse and then the chorus. For the bridge, the piano changes again, this time to a soft short background melody. Various other instruments can be heard in the bridge as well. The tempo changes a little throughout the song, but for the most part it stays the same. Since it isn't a sad song, it is considered to be in the major key. "Hall of Fame" is an upbeat song with a nice rhythm. In addition to the musical element, the vocals in this song are strong and passionate. Starting off is an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. Hall Of Fame Research Paper In the MLB, the league presents the greatness of a player, coach, or figure by inducting them into the Hall of Fame, however, there are some hurdles a player must jump over in order to be inducted. Baseball immortality is reached and players fulfill their destiny of becoming one of baseball's icons when they get inducted, but to fulfill their destiny, a player must be eligible to enter the Hall of Fame. To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, a player must have played in ten or more seasons and have been retired for five years ("Hall of Fame" 1). In the case of the death of a player, the MLB can chose when that player can be elected into the Hall of Fame, if he/she so well deserves. There is a selected committee from the MLB that chooses if a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Chicago White Sox were called the Black Sox when some of the players on the White Sox bet on the World Series between the Cincinnati Reds and themselves. The White Sox players bet on the Reds to win the series over the White Sox so that the players could receive extra money to throw the series. The White Sox were expected to win easily in that series, with the Reds having close–to–no chance of winning. As a result, the "betting conspiracy between a group of players and gamblers led to the permanent banning of eight players from the white sox baseball, the introduction of the post of commissioner, and strict rules prohibiting gambling that lives on to this day ("Black Sox Scandal" 1). The eight players involved included Shoeless Joe Jackson. Jackson was one of the best hitters of all time, posting a career .356 batting average, which is the third highest all time ("Black Sox Scandal" 1). He got banned from baseball, resulting in him not being able to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The main argument to this major event in baseball history is, should Joe Jackson be inducted into the Hall of Fame? Many think he should because he was on of the greatest hitters to ever play. Betting is one form of disrespect that the MLB will not tolerate, but is it actually worth forfeiting a player's chance at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. The Hall Of Fame For College Basketball The Hall of Fame for college basketball players was on the wall. It had just recently been updated after the Hall of Fame presentation of Saturday. I had just woken up feeling cold. I looked out the window of my dorm to see the dark, cloudy day outside with the rain pelting down on the window pane. I was still really tired after the late night of getting praised on my amazing basketball skills, finally I had been recognized and everyone was telling me that I needed to declare that I'm joining the NBA as soon as possible! I then declared for the NBA draft halfway through my season. The election for the new president was going on at that moment, but he wasn't really interested in the elections, he heard on the radio what the soon to be president didn't like and what he did. The main thing he heard though was that he didn't like basketball, how could anyone not like basketball? How could I get rid of this new president to be? I looked up on the black market on the deep dark web for an assassin. There were a few ads in there for Hit man's pest control and Hit man agent. I rang the Hit man agent and there was a muffled voice coming over the phone, I could barely understand him. I told him that I wanted the election to be stopped and the person who was winning the election to be killed, and cover up your tracks well! There was one thing I didn't want to happen. I didn't want to be arrested just as I was about to get into the NBA. No one would want me on their team when they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 77. Hall Of Fame Career Instead of focusing on what hits count and what hits don't, let's focus on one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. Today, Miami Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki collected his 4, 257th in his career against the San Diego Padres. Obviously, the Major League Baseball all–time hits king is Pete Rose (who has 4,256). Ichiro recorded 1,278 hits in his nine–season career in Japan with the Orix Blue Wave. With the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, and Marlins, he has collected 2,979 and counting. Here's an emotional Ichiro in the post–game press conference after today's game versus the Padres: Now, MLB does not recognize combined stats with minor leagues or any leagues, so Ichiro isn't revising league numbers. Instead, he is closing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I'm not trying to take anything away from Ichiro –– he's had a Hall of Fame career –– but the next thing you know, they'll be counting his high school hits. "I don't think you're going to find anybody with credibility say that Japanese baseball is equivalent to Major League Baseball. There are too many guys that fail here and then become household names there, like Tuffy Rhodes. How can he not do anything here and hit [a record–tying] 55 home runs [in 2001] over there? It has something to do with the caliber of personnel." There's no need to approach this historic career with this mentality. What Ichiro has done in his time in the states is nothing short of phenomenal. His career overall is without a debate a first ballot Hall–Of–Fame one. The weirdest fact in it all, is Ichiro is still a great hitter. In 55 games, he is averaging .349, and has 44 hits. A lifestime .300 hitter, ten straight 200+ hits seasons (Japan and MLB), and will still more than likely collect over 3,000 hits in the states in 15 seasons. He will turn 43 on Oct. 22. Only two other players were 42 or older when they recorded No. 3,000: Cap Anson (45) and Rickey Henderson (42). So, he still has time to join more historic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 79. Hall Of Fame Persuasive Speech "It's kind of fun to do the impossible" is a quote by walt disney. I believe that anyone can achieve the impossible just by working hard. This leads into the song I chose "Hall of Fame"by the script, the theme of this song is encouraging yourself to do the impossible, will eventually lead you to the hall of fame. First, one of the verses says "you can move a mountain, you can break rocks, you can be the master don't wait for luck, dedicate yourself and you will find yourself standing in the hall of fame." This tells us that as long as you believe in yourself you can achieve your goals. For me achieving, has always been one of my biggest goals, whether that be in academics or sports. But I have had people tell that I am not smart enough to get ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I would get dizzy, have the hives and I wouldn't be able to catch my breath. Every Time I would have on of these symptoms my coach would make me get out of the pool and wait until I felt better. I didn't want to wait I wasn't getting better just by sitting there, so I eventually pushed myself through my condition. And I keep pushing today and now I pretty much last the full practice, my coach thought it would never get better, but I achieved what I like to call the impossible. Secondly I like the line, "on the walls of the hall of fame be students, be teachers be politicians, be preachers be believers, be leaders be astronauts be champions be truth seekers." What these lines mean to me is that all these people are champions. they all had to work past the people that doubted them and the challenges that came over them. This was their impossible moment. I believe that everyone will have there impossible moments, some have already happened others are creeping around the bend. But it will come and I hope you think back to the song "Hall of Fame" and know that everyone has to go through there impossible moments and that everyone gets through them with a little push of ...
