Private Schools Vs. Public Schools
A school is a that place which is designed to provide learning spaces as well as environments for
the teaching of students under the direction of teachers. Schools are the roots of every children in
his/her life. With the help of school students grasps wide array of knowledge from school which is
beneficial for them in their future. However, some people argue that private schools are better over
public school. From my point of view, private schoolare better because it is enriched with academic
opportunities, well qualify staff and extracurricular activities as compared to public School. Hence, I
agree with this statement that private schools are better than public schools.
The reason why private schools are better than public schools because it enriched with academics
opportunities to a great extend rather than public schools. It is true that private schools have
more rigorous academic programs such as Advanced Placement courses are commonly found in
private schools. There courses are not less than a boon for a student in their long run because it
leads to a various kind of jobs from which they can easily earn a handsome salary. Moreover,
international students can work full time after the academics opportunity from private schools as
well as global internships are available for undergraduate and graduate students of all disciplines in
more than forty countries from which they can gain some medical experience and apply for
medical vacancy in their future and country like

The s Nationalization Of The Suez Canal
Colonial power ruled Egypt for almost a hundred years, exploiting and extracting as much wealth
from Egypt as possible. After this long period of subjection to outside rule, Gamal Abdel Nasser
became president of Egypt in 1956. He was the first Egyptian who was a ruler of the people.
Egyptians, Arab nationalists, and many other world leaders loved Nasser and his leadership. His
swift, bloodless takeover and rise to president in conjunction with his smooth, calm speeches gained
him popularity. What truly made him infamous was his nationalization of the Suez Canal Company
that ended British influence in Egypt. Decades after his death, Nasser is still believed to be greater
than that of many other political leader since the Prophet Mohamed . However, many of Nasser s
actions demand that his rule be reconsidered. Nasser s nationalization of the media, repression of
political opponents, institutionalized torture of the Muslim Brotherhood, and failure to successfully
implement his national planning all suggest that Nasser s actions contributed to the many
economic, political, and military problems Egypt faces today
In one of the first events to centralize his power, Nasser nationalized the media in 1960 shortly
after becoming the central leader of Egypt in 1954 . Nasser became incredibly popular early in
his reign. Arabs and Egyptians rallied in support of his socialist reform proposals and Nasser s
efforts to unify all Arabs in the name Arab nationalism. The

Florence Was The Birthplace Of The Italian Renaissance
The Italian Renaissance was a period in history unlike most others; this was an era of ingenuity,
expansion, and enlightenment that would revolutionize both society as the people of the
Renaissance knew it to be, and as the future generations of individuals across the globe understand
it today. Florence held itself out to be the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, yet the people of
this renaissance era never lost sight of the Greek and Roman heritage. The following essay will
discuss the varying ways in which Florencewas the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and will
provide the reader with examples that demonstrate Greco Roman ideas and practices in the
Italian Renaissance. One of the most obvious examples in which Greco Roman culture was
displayed in the era of the Italian Renaissance was through the works of art; and more
specifically the medium of sculpture. Take for example, the piece by Donatello, Saint Mark, this
piece harkens back to the artwork of the Greek culture by having the character whom is sculpted
to be positioned in the contrappasto style, where the audience may view the drapery covering his
body beneath, particularly his left knee as it projects forward... He is, in other words, a fully
realized human form ; this technique was predominantly used by Greek artists, and was relatively
abandoned by all other artists after the fall of the Greek empire to the Romans (Sayre, 2015). Yet,
the artists of the Italian Renaissance saw the beauty and value of

Analysis Of Beauty And The Beast And Apuleius s Cupid...
Jeanne Marie LePrince de Beaumont s Beauty and the Beast and Apuleius s Cupid and Psyche
both use a pair of sisters as a shadow figure to the beauty in the story. A shadow figure is a term
used from Carl Jung s Process of Individuation , that describes the character who impedes on
beauty s growth is a shadow character. The sisters in both stories hold features that beauty should
gain in the end, such as marriage, being confident, and wanting more for herself. The sisters also
hold features that are the opposite of beauty such as selfishness, envy, and being materialistic.
These are ways that we can define the sisters as being the shadow. Although at first it seems the
shadow figures of the sisters in Beauty and the Beastand Cupid and Psycheboth are trying to ruin
beauty s development, nevertheless, both sets of sisters have different methods of ruining her
individuation such as the sister s different relationships with beauty before she goes to the beast,
different ways of stunting her growth, and different results after they attempt to ruin her
individuation.
At first, the sisters in the two stories seem to have similar ways in ruining beauty s development.
Both the pairs of sisters are envious of their younger sister. You would almost think that the two
older ones were twins from how alike they are. In Beaumont s Beauty and the Beast, the virtues of
their younger sister had filled them with a good deal of envy (Beaumont, 138). This is about the
older sisters. The

Sports Fanaticism In Sports
Sports fans, also called sports devotees, followers, or supporters, devote themselves to a particular
athlete, organization or sport. They may show their enthusiasm by often attending sporting events
or watch on television, being members of a fan club, follow athletic news through newspapers,
online websites, and create fanzines. They show a certain behavior towards an organization. These
behaviors manifest in different ways and show in different types of sports fans. Even though sports
fanaticism exists on a spectrum, some forms stick out more than others. Individual types that stick
out include the bandwagon, the coach, the trash talker, the blind follower, and the statistician. The
bandwagon, the person that sells into the hype of a club. Every sportholds its fair share of
bandwagons. Bandwagons only know the popular players on the roster and only watch their team
when it is a popular game. Their squad usually never has a losing season and tend to win the
championship each year. If a player they like switches to a different organization in the postseason,
the bandwagon suddenly supports that organization. When the bandwagon s team wins, they refer
to their side as we and calls their side them when they lose. Furthermore, if the bandwagon goes to
a game and their team loses, the bandwagon leaves before the game ends and does not talk about
the game.

There Is Currently A Critical Global Shortage Of Nurses
There is currently a critical global shortage of nurses and it is projected to grow logistically in the
prospective years. The reasons for the nurse shortage is multifactorial but one of the more
prominent reasons is that nurses are at an increased risk for work related stress particularly in
specialty areas such as mental health nursing. Psychiatric nurses are frequent victims of burn out
and workplace violence because of the nature of patients they serve, the demands of the institution,
and the shortage of trained staff. According to Qi et al. (2014), Nurses working in mental health
hospitals have been found to suffer from higher levels of work related stress, as they are frequently
exposed to violent behavior by mental health patients... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Itzhaki et al. (2015), interventions such as training staff to deal with violence directed
at them contributed to the fact that even when nurses are working with mental health patients, it
promoted work safety as well as less stress. In addition, routine nursing staff training structured
around coping with aggression in mental health facilities are vital for preventing violence, dealing
with aggression, establishing trust and rapport with the patient, maintaining the security and the
well being of both staff and patients. Lastly, contrary to psychosocial and educational
interventions is lack of interventions provided to support the staff to cope with work place
violence and job related stress and burnout. Due to the lack of support, nurses tend to experience
more burnout and less life satisfaction. According to Itzhaki et al. (2015) a possible explanation
could be that mental health nurses often believe that patients violence towards them is to be
expected and is considered part of the job...Experiencing abuse could lead to ambiguity; nurses
must take care of patients who abuse them. This situation might evoke stress and reduce their life
satisfaction. Therefore, it is essential as a psychiatric mental health nurse to participate in trained
programs such as Satori Alternatives to Manage Aggression (SAMA) and psychosocial
interventions such as group therapy to learn more about work place violence and methods to reduce
the effects of it along with stress

Evaluation Methods For Best Electronics
After evaluating Best Electronics website using three different usability evaluation methods which
are observations, questionnaires and heuristics evaluation.
These usability evaluation methods allowed us to recognize the major flaws of the website, also
assisted to identify the key features and aspects of the website which have to be improved.
The first aspect needs to be changed within the website is the colors and the font size used
throughout the entire website. Based on the heuristics evaluation we performed, the font size used
in the website is big, which makes reading the content uncomfortable, also there are many colors
used in the website without any professionalism , which led to make the website unattractive, also
the color ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is one of the biggest flaws of the website, for this reason it is essential to create enough space
between the paragraphs and images so the viewer has space to breathe, minimize the paragraphs
size of the content, divide large blocks of information into more manageable groups where natural
and appropriate, avoid content clutter especially on the homepage, present information in more
precise and ordered way to minimize the scrolling required, and finally, organize the content with
respect to the principles of contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity. All these steps must be
taken to accomplish three of our usability goals (effective home page, Clarity of the interface,
Motivating website), as well as to meet two of the Windows Interface Guidelines, aesthetics and
simplicity .
Another aspect is the lack of menu, quick links and search engine, based on our observations,
users were not able to find different kinds of information they were looking for, and the reason
for that is because the website does not offer any menu or quick links to allow users to navigate
quickly, additionally, the website does not have a search engine which allows users to find
products quickly, so one goal when redesigning the website is to build a main menu, and

The Aspects Of Medieval Courtly Love In The Middle Ages
Knights in armor, damsels in distress, heroic quests, masquerade balls this was the essence of
romance in the Middle Ages. In medieval European literature, love is for the nobility, chivalrous,
and virtuous. Andreas Capellanus defined courtly love as Love is a certain inborn suffering
derived from the sight of and excessive meditation upon the beauty of the opposite sex, which
causes each one to wish above all things the embraces of the other and by a common desire to carry
out all of loves precepts in the other s embraces. Capellanus 28) In other words love and suffering
go hand in hand, much like modern love. Capellanus gives the Rules of Love (1) governing how
men and women should behave in relationships. Compared to the modern day idea of love, courtly
loverarely had a happy ending. Before the 18th century, marriages were usually business
arrangements that brought material advantages for everyone involved. Romancein the Middle Ages
was mainly combined with Chivalry. In the Legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round
Table, King Arthur s Queen. Guinevere, fell in love with his right hand and fellow knight, Sir
Lancelot. This is an example of one of the many illicit court romances that occurred due to the art
of Medieval Courtly Love. Modern day movies and tv shows that are set in the Middle Ages (such
as Narnia, Princess Bride, Galavant) value chivalry. The audience (mostly women) are supposed to
fall in love with the main male character, who is usually a

Developmental Theories Of Child Development
Developmental theory, with Piaget as the most prominent theorist, presents the idea that children
actively construct knowledge as they manipulate and explore the world around them. Development
is seen to take place in broad stages from birth through to adulthood, with each stage characterized
by qualitatively distinct ways of thinking. However, some developmental theorists, in contrast to
Piaget, place more emphasis on personal, social and emotional development rather than cognitive
development and prefer to delay academic experiences until later, for instance after the age of seven
years in Steiner s theory. A further distinction between developmental theorists sees some as
holding a discontinuous theory of development that is believing that stages are discrete and distinct,
with children moving from one to the other in a clear cut fashion, whereas others believe that the
stages are continuous and overlap, with the child moving to and fro across distinctions.
Developmental theories recognize both consistency and variability in child development (DEEWR,
2010: 2). The focus for early childhood educators is clearly on understanding each child s
development and then planning to facilitate the identified developmental needs. This will determine
what should be the nucleus of the curriculum. Developmental theories in practice If you incorporate
a developmental perspective in your work with young children you would: believe that young
children need time to mature and

The Between Greek And Egyptian Civilizations
The Earth has been around for a long time. Humans have been around for a long time. America
has been around for a long time. However, these long times are on vastly different timescales, and
are not even close to being comparable to each other. To human minds, however, it would seem as
though anything beyond the scope of their lifetime blends into a series of events on a page. The
years before their birth sticking together into an amalgam of history, distorted beyond recognition.
We place prominence on events which have taken place recently, while discounting the vast eons
between the ages of the distant past. It may seem as though an eternity has passed between now and
1945 for the centenarian, but even the oldest amongst us would see the time between the foundation
of the greek and egyptian civilizations as having a length much less than the 2500 years that
separate the two. Two varieties of ancient hominids may seem to be virtually contemporaries, when
they are in actuality over a million years of evolutionremoved from one another. Humans have many
methods to describe large numbers mathematically. Ever since the invention of the concept of zero
essential to the ancients in keeping good records of various transactions humans have been using
mathematics to describe ever larger quantities of items. The ancient story of the king and the
chessboard of wheat demonstrates that humans have been using large numbers since time
immemorial. In the story, a king tells a

The Strangers That Came And Town By Ambrose Flack
Freedom is a birthright for all humans, we should always feel accepted to speak our minds and
be who we are. In his short story, The Strangers that Came to Town , Ambrose Flack is
showing that true freedom is about being accepted. He shows this through the characterization
of Mrs. Duvitch, Mr. Duvitch and Andy.
Mrs. Duvitch s quiet and reserved nature made her the ideal victim of rumors. The less people
knew about her the more room left for their imaginations. For example she is said to be the victim
of an obscure skin disease and that every morning she shook scales out of the bed sheet (3). The
rumors began to cease after her dinner party with Andy s family where her true nature began to be
revealed. Following the dinner party, Andy s mother invites her to a tea party
Where her delicate manners, and the fine needlework which engaged her, won the approval of
the local housewives who were present (15). Showing her embroidery skills helped her connect
with the ladies of the town. Embroidery is a way she expresses herself and after feeling
comfortable with the ladies she revealed that side of her. When she felt accepted by the ladies,
Mrs. Duvitch was finally confident enough to invite them to her house. After a while Mrs.
Duvitch found courage to ask these people into her house (16). Opening our homes to someone
takes a great deal of trust. Our homes are our safe place where we can be ourselves.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Diazonuim Salts
Introduction:
Diazonuim salts are unsaturated compounds which have a trible bond.
There was a scientist his name was Griess, this scientist gave Diazo name to diazonuim salts as he
thought that two hydrogen atoms in the benzene ring will be replaced by two atoms of nitrogen.
Diazonuim salts divided into two types of salts:
Aromatic diazonuim salts and alephatic ( non aromatic) diazonuim salts.
Non aromatic salts are less important than aromatic.
Under normal conditions, diazonuim salt is highly unstable.
Dizonuim salts have some properites such as shock sensitive, decompose violenthly when heating
and they can conduct electricity, for this reason they are considered one of the electrolyte
compounds.

There is another type of diazonuim salts reactions which lead to the formation of azo dyes
compounds, this reaction is done by adding some compounds to the salt such as, aromatic amines,
compounds which have keton group in its structure like aceton, compounds which have OH group
like phenol or naphthalen and hetrocyclic compounds in two steps:
Step 1:
Formation of diazonuim salt.
Step 2:
React diazonuim salt with coupling component which may be phenol or any type of aromatic
amines so, a stable azo dye will be formed.
Azo dyes compounds have different structures as most of them contain only one azo group, but
they may contain two or three or more azo groups.

Male Deception In Much Ado About Nothing
Much Ado About Nothing is a study of male deception, taking varying forms of their deceit,
betrayal and treachery. So the phrase, Men were deceivers ever, proves to be a very accurate
representation of Much Ado About Nothing. Moreover, characters such as Don John, Borachio and
even Don Pedro and Claudio prove Balthasar s phrase to ring true, through their respective roles and
intentional actions in the play. Don John, who is notably the main antagonist, is a stagnant portrayal
of Balthasar s quote. Not only does he spend his every waking moment stirring trouble, but most
importantly he takes satisfaction in it. He contingently makes it his mission and purpose to reign
havoc, and to deceive characters of another s false wrongdoing. For reference,

Shakespeare s Hamlet is one of the greatest tragedies of all. The character of Hamlet is one who
has deeply rooted conflicts, that come into the light. From start to finish, one can see Hamlet s

victim at the end. Hamletwants to avenge his father because his uncle killed him. However, the
world around Hamlet is falling apart and he is only doing his best to right all the wrongs he can.
His judgment may be clouded, but there are still bouts of sense from him throughout the play.
Shakespeare strategically plays off of the language, mainly with the word: seems . He uses this

The World Of Law Enforcement And Crime Laboratories
In the world of law enforcement and crime laboratories, there is always a great need to train newly
hired crime scene investigators and laboratory analysts. In addition, continuing education to gain or
maintain certifications and/or laboratory accreditation is important to keep professionals up to date
with the newest technologies and techniques. However, in the United States, licensing and
certification for crimescene and laboratory personnel is not usually required, but often noted as a
preferred or desired qualification (NCR, 2009). If required, certification is usually established at
the agency level and not mandated by the state. With more than 17,000 agencies in the U.S.,
ranging in size from just a few officers in rural communities to more than 36,000 sworn officers in
the New York PoliceDepartment (Burch, et al., 2012), consistency in qualifications, training
standards and expectations is difficult to find at any level, regardless of the beliefs held by the
general public regarding the capabilities of their criminal justicesystem. In looking at training issues
internationally, the fragmented scenario in the U.S. is similar to that of Australia, but countries
such as the Netherlands and United Kingdom use centralized training programmes that tend to be
more cost effective and consistent.
There are many career paths within the field of criminal justice. Opportunities exist in law
enforcement, military, the court system, corrections and other public safety agencies.

The University Art Museum Case Analysis

Professor Quimei Xu
I. Relevant Facts/Background
The Art Museum is a building on the university premises that is providing a place for the art
collection of a university. The building was given to the university by an alumnus around 1929. The
wealthy son of the university s first president served as the museum s unpaid director until his
death. He brought a few extra collections to the museum during his service, and while serving as
unpaid director, none of the collections was ever shown to anybody except a few members of the
university s art history faculty. The university practically gave the position to amateur art supporter,
Miss Kirkoff, after the director s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The real issue was not that the new director opened the doors to the public, but the management
organization at the University Art Museum. There are three main points as listed by the elderly
statesmen of the faculty that need to be addressed and clearly defined for the museum: its
mission, its direction, and its objectives. These are clearly the focal problems in this case. What
the university has to do as a whole is to set organizational goals and develop the plans to
accomplish them. The museum is not thriving with the school as well as it has in the past, and the
direction of the university is being questioned. III. Critical Analysis
The later director wanted it to be a community resource as said in the case, and the museum gained
bad reputation during that time as an academic resource. The building was designed by Miss
Kirkoff to help university and its alumni in their pursuit of knowledge. It failed greatly to support

Microeconomics And The Laws Of Supply And Demand Essay
Microeconomics and the Laws of Supply and Demand Microeconomics and the Law of Demand
as reviewed in the Khan Academy videos are a simple enlightening of the business cycle. The
descriptive teaching and evolving facts of real life cause and effects in the cycle of business
production and supply are an exquisite piece of material. The concepts relation to
microeconomics are demand, markets cost and price, they are listed in true relation to the area s
they occupy in analysis of the mathematical formula of how they are defined in economic
literature and explanation. Through each cycle of change they apply to business production. The
concepts role is used to identify economical factors that allow adjustment in areas that may affect
revenues in put and out put or Short run or Long run, margins cost and market distribution tied to
overall success. In the form of efficiency and growth, if a solid understanding is applied using a
structured fiscal plan with total cost, resources cost, production cost, market and demand will
provide an upper hand in preventing fiscal self destruction. The mathematical approach and visual
graphing, price vs. quantity of production will provide a stopping point for the companies buyer,
providing reason for limitations as the identifier to prevent probable revenue/cost inflation or loss.
As identified above Demand, Marketing and Price are categorized as microeconomics, due to the
cause and effect they share in relation to one another. If there is a

I Am A Professional Engineer
It is not easy to become a successful, professional engineer. A professional engineer requires high
responsibility, especially problem based solving skills to cope with workplace environment and
compete with others. Problem based learning (PBL) is really important to reflect the professional
practice of engineers. There have been several definitions of PBL. According to Lizinger, Lattuca,
Hadgraft and Newstetter (2011, p.134), PBL is the approach that allows learners to practice
finding solutions throughout their academy. Learners in a PBL process have to reflect, identify and
learn about the complex problem and the cycle is repeated until learners find a solution that they
can do both in writing and presentation. There are some basics of PBL such as decision making,
communication, collaboration, self regulation, self motivation and flexibility. These basics are the
base for every engineerto become a successful professional practicing engineer.
Decision making ability helps engineers to learn deeply from the problems and have ability to
analyse and get the detail of the problems before planning to solve them. Deep learners focus on the
problem carefully and get all information about it. Lizinger, Lattuca, Hadgraft and Newstetter
(2011, p.126) state that the experiences of the effective learning from deep learning leads learners
to understand key words and general principle to develop both technic and profession. Not only
deep learning, decision making ability improves

The Handmaid s Tale versus I Will Keep Broken Things Essay
People require energy to function. Energy is provided by fuel. For humans, fuel is not simply
food and water, but rather, love and a sense of meaning. This is the truth; life is not complete
without love. In The Handmaid s Tale by Margaret Atwood, handmaid is the name given to a
women placed within a Commander s home for the purpose of reproduction. Offred is the
narrator of this dystopian society, and she bears the burden of being separated from her husband
and daughter to fulfill her new role in society. In I Will Keep Broken Things by Alive Walker, a
woman conveys her emotions through an incredibly fractured poem. She is broken, and suffers
from loss, as she produces imagery of an urn (Walker 4 5), and refers to memories, as if the... Show

Similarly, the narrator of the poem cherishes: The memory/Of/Those/Long/Delicious/Night
/Swims/With/You; (Walker 39 48). This memory has become broken because it is shared
between two people, one of which is no longer present. It becomes a lock with two keys, one of
which is missing. This excerpt gives insight that the narrator is suffering a loss related to a
relationship of some kind, presumably romantic, as suggested by the use of the word delicious.
Despite a loss of such close proximity, the narrator can take this memory and cherish it. She
must come to the realization that this memory remains the same, despite a newly acquired
absence. The memories of these two characters are not altered by the present, and can still be
used to bring happiness through reflection and joyful revelations of the past. Offred and Walker
s narrator both use memories as motivators. For as long as somebody is thinking of someone,
they are not truly gone. A life devoid of love creates a period of vigorous mental instability and
often opens eyes and promotes changes in lifestyle and perspective. This transformation is almost
never a smooth one, and somebody travelling down a pathway can easily lose their way and travel
off the beaten trail. Where they end up is always relative to their situation. For instance, as their

Wilfred Owen
What is Wilfred Owen s attitude towards WW1 and how is this shown through his poetry?
Wilfred Owen was a soldier during world war one. Many of his poems were published
posthumously, and now well renowned. His poems were also heavily influenced by his good
friend and fellow soldier Siegfried Sassoon. Wilfred Owen was tragically killed one week before
the end of the war. During the war Wilfred Owen had strong feelings towards the use of
propaganda and war in general, this was due to the horrors he saw during his time on the frontlines.
During his time on the battlefield he thought a lot about the war and the feelings he and other
soldiers had, and he channelled his thoughts through poetry. In this essay I will compare Dulce et

tone What passing bells for those who die as cattle... only the monstrous anger of the guns these
words are trying to tell us that war is not glorious as you do not get a proper funeral, and you die

Owen uses personification to describe the guns Only the monstrous anger of the guns to build
up a vivid scene as to how the guns were fired, and how the soldiers perceived them to be. Owen
shows that in war there are only the sounds of guns being fired. In war, instead of honouring
those who have fallen, more are being killed by the same weapons. Thus giving us a clear
indication as to how he felt about war. Anthem of a Doomed Youth tells us how unfortunate it is
for a soldier to die in war, this is due to him getting no respect, farewell or burial. Owen constantly
compares the war to traditional burial rituals. Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs, The

Reduction in real exports (real imports, which are a subtracted in the GDP calculation declined as

inventory investments, non residential fixed investments, residential investments and a cutback in
state and local government spending. The GDP s only supporter so far this year came in the form of
increased real personal consumer expenditures, which grew from 2.1 percent from the previous
estimate of 2.0 percent, mainly reflecting sharp increases in services and slight increases in other
areas. The BEA states, The downturn in the percent change in real GDP, primarily reflected a
downturn in exports, a larger decrease in private inventory investment, and downturns in
nonresidential fixed investment and in state and local government spending that were partly offset

Foreign Direct Investment Inflows Help Countries Improve...
There is a long standing belief that foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows help the countries to
have the opportunity to make further improvements on their economies. In recent decade, this
belief strengthened by the fact that faster growing economies tend to attract more FDIs. Even if
the direction of causality between FDI and growth is not absolute yet, positive impacts of FDI
such as new technology, know how or creating employment are enough attractive for
policymakers. Consequently, investigating factors that pull FDI into country became a crucial
topic in the literature. One of the most significant factors of FDI inflows is trade openness. The
term trade openness refers to the degree, of which an economy allows to conduct trade
transitions with other economies (Skouloudakis et al., 2013;12). The degree of a country s
openness can influence FDI in various ways. For instance, with high degree of trade openness
and low trade costs, multinational enterprises (MNE) can prefer export rather than FDI.
Therefore, trade openness can negatively affect FDI inflows. On the other hand, higher degree of
trade openness implies lower costs adding to the total cost of a product and less trade restrictions.
MNEs want to take advantage of the low cost of natural factor endowments (labor, capital,
technology). Thus, trade openness can positively affect FDI inflows (Seim, 2009; 5). Therefore, the
evidence of trade openness as a determinant of FDI is controversial in literature.

Compare and contrast the subject, concept, and the Formal Element of the two works of art.
Also, explain which category this work falls in. The two pieces I have chosen can be found on
page 200, figure 6 51, Battle of Centaurs and Wild Beasts from Hadrian s Villa and on page 434,
figure 14 8, Battle of the Bird and Serpent. Not only did I choose these pieces for their beauty, but

these images have subject matter that is the same even though they re different.

Also, the shapes in the background are fuzzier and assumed in piece one where the shapes in piece
two are sharper and more defined. Another formal element is texture. The first piece, according to
the text, is a floor mosaic which is composed of many colored tesserae that were laid down in
irregular, curving lines, which effectively imitated painted brushstrokes. The individual tiles are
more apparent when viewed closely. This gives the piece a grainy and earthy texture, where it
physically looks bumpy. The textbook says it has foreshortening, the illusion created on a flat
surface in which figures and objects appear to recede or project sharply into space. The second
piece was drawn with tempera on parchment. This makes the piece look smooth, flat, and two
dimensional. The next element is color. The hues in both pieces are relatively earth toned. Both
pieces have a low level of saturation. In piece one, the sky is mustard brown with a section of mint
green that frames the boulder that the male centaur is holding. The rocky scenery has browns and
creams with a dull green and brown center. A bright green patch of pine trees is in the corner that
contrasts with the sky and rocks. The colors to the second piece are similar in the sense that it has
low saturation. The colors are dull and warm. This piece utilizes reds and oranges, in the serpent,
that the first piece does not. Because of the tan

A GSM Base Device
1Problem Statement
A GSM base device creates severe interference with a wireless infrastructure. It can be used to
activate any explosive device in an indoor environment. Moreover, a GSM signal is also very likely
to interfere with wireless network, employed by emergency and/or confidential departments.
2Aims Objectives
The motive of this paper is to propose a novel band stop Frequency Selective Surface (FSS). The
proposed FSS provides security to wireless networks used by sensitive areas. It also provides
security to explosive devices by blocking both GSM 900 and GSM 1800 frequency bands.
A ringing cell phone can be very irritating in places of adoration, classrooms, and hospitals.
Trans European Trunked Radio GSM (TETRA GSM) is a bidirectional communication technology
informally known to Walkie Talkie. This well known technology used by emergency amenities,
armed forces, law enforcement and other government agencies.
Moreover, a mobile phone signal can be used to explode an ammunition lorry, an incendiary bomb
or any other explosive device, in an indoor environment or other extremely sensitive areas. Many
of these areas usually use jammers and other variants of reflectors to reflect and/or block GSM
signal. However, these reflectors have limitation in sense that they disturb other type of wireless
communication too. Therefore, there is a need to design an innovative reflector which can block
only desired signals.

The Importance Of Online Privacy
In the United States 84% of Americans have access to the internet (Perrin and Duggan) and 77%
of Americans own a smartphone (Smith). The online world is growing with every upload,
comment, and text, but with this growth comes concerns over the privacy of the information we
are putting online. Technology has broadened our social horizons, but it has also pushed people
to share personal information with the unseen masses. Who should have access your personal
information and why? If information regarding a serious crime is being protected by our
personal device, should law enforcement be granted access? Our personal devices serve as a
mask to hide behind, which leads us to step outside the scope of what is morally acceptable. As
our reliance on personal devices grows, so does our expectation of our right to total online
privacy, however complete protection of privacy denies the U.S. justice system of its ability to
effectively do its job. Our day to day lives revolve around technology. Our phones are often the
first thing we look at in the mornings and the last thing we look at before we go to bed. We use
them throughout the day to hold personal conversations, share pictures and thoughts on social
media, and to browse the internet, furthermore we expect that this information will be kept from
prying eyes. There are, after all, some downsides to privacy. For example, the ability to control
information about oneself can also enable dishonesty and hypocrisy (Defining Privacy).

Although Wedgwood mentions the incident, she doesn t emphasize it being a huge turning point
with regard to the conflicts in Germany. The extraordinary chance which had saved three lives
was a holy miracle or a comic accident according to the religion of the beholder, but it had no
political significance (Wedgwood p. 79). The Denfenstration of Prague is the initial event that
instigated the tension because it was a rebellion. People became angry and fought for what they
thought was right. Frederick and Ferdinand began to raise their own armies by asking for help
from other European countries. Ferdinand received assistance from Maximilian of Bavaria. In
Western Civilizaton, it also mentions him getting help from Spain. He ensured this help by
promising Frederick s lands to them. Wedgwood explains that this could be considered
unconstitutional according to the Peace of Augsburg. Ferdinand signed this document declaring
that German liberties would be observed in 1555. This means that each country can have its own
religion if it s Catholic or Lutheran and that they are the Electors for the empire. If the German
princes do not consent to the impeachment of Frederick as Bohemian king, then giving the land
away is stealing. Frederick asked England for support, especially since he was married to the
English King s daughter Elizabeth. Unfortunately, the king had declined any

Software Technology on Student Learning
My topic for the Senior Exhibition is Software Technology. I want to demonstrate how using
technology can enhance a high school students learning experience. By knowing what I know
about Software Technology I want to demonstrate how effective it can be to the educational
system. As a learning experience, It will include my interview with my mentor and all the sources
I cited. It will also include the ideas that will be required to commence my project right away.
Technology has impacted our lives with it s extraordinary stuff it can do. Finding almost all the
answers to literally anything, technology can be the answer to be a successful future. Creating
software programs is much harder than it sounds like. You need to know how to write code in a
computer JavaScript which many people do not know what it is or what it means. A JavaScript is
a blank page where you write commands (code) to order the computer to display and demonstrate
it on the user computer screen. Students these past few years, have been utilizing their mobile
phones or tablets as a resource to assist them with any of their assignments. There are already
some few software applications in smartphones that allow the user to get help on any subject for
the sake of learning with videos or with hands on tutorials. Technology has advanced so much it s
been idealized as perfection on computer platforms.

Writing Out Notes And Homework On A Computer

they used to by writing their notes out on the computer instead of on paper. Is getting homework
done faster worth having to study longer later? Writing out notes and homework by hand has more
educational benefits than typing notes and homework on a computer. Various studies have proven
that writingnotes have a variety of benefits that exceed those of typing notes on a computer;
retention rate, distractions, and higher grades.
In an experiment done by Mueller and Oppenheimer, students were instructed to take notes, some
students did so by hand, others by laptops. Afterwards, they were given a test on what they took

The results were that those who took the standard class had considerably higher marks than those
who took the hybrid class. Those in the hybrid course earned an average of only 69.2% while the
students in the lecture earned an average of 77.9%. According to the researchers, students in the
hybrid course were less engaged with the material than those in the traditional section. (Adams)
This is why they believe that those who took the standard class were more successful in earning
better grades than the other students. In a different study by Robert Williams and Allan Eggert,
Notetaking aids one s ability to recall noted information and do well on exams related to that
information. This is why it is so important for students to take notes in class. When you write out
notes in class while the teacher is talking, you are forced to listen and summarize the key points of
the lecture because writing notes are significantly slower than typing the notes. When students take
notes on computers, they generally tend to type exactly what is being said instead of focusing on
why it is important. When these students go back and read their notes, they don t have a decent
conceptual understanding of what was written beforehand. COnsequently, these students need to

Racism In Benito Cereno
The ignorance of Captain Delano in Benito Cereno can be accredited to his racist convictions that
guide his perception of the ship s perilous situation. However, is Delano at fault for his racism?
When rethinking the racism in Benito Cereno under the context of Althusser s theories on ideology,
racism is an ideologyforcibly implemented on the subject through the social institution of slavery.
Delano s actions and thoughts throughout Benito Cereno prove that his racismis a result of a socially
imposed ideology and challenge the modern ideals of racism that place the blame for racist
attitudes entirely on the racist subject. Delano is the subject of a racist ideology and has been
forced into that ideology through the social apparatus of slavery
A fundamental aspect of ideology is that an ideology always exists in an apparatus, and its
practices, or practice. The existence is material (Althusser 695). The ideology of racism uses the
institution of slavery as an apparatus for implementing racism. Slavery was a socially imposed
practice that trained those who were enslaving others to accept the reality and need for this given
institution. This ideology forced people into perceiving Africans as wild people who lacked
civility, education, and intelligence as a whole. However, as is the function of ideology, the
individual being influenced lacks the control to escape from the cyclical nature of the idea being

Hodgkin s Lymphoma Research Paper

August 11th, 2015 Hodgkin s Lymphoma Thomas Hodgkin began discovering a disease called
Hodgkin s Lymphoma in 1832. (Hildago, 1994.) This cancerous disease begins in the lymphocytes
or white blood cells and can spread throughout the immune system. This type of lymphoma is
identified by a specific cancerous cell called a Reed Sternberg cell. When this cell is found other
types of lymphomas or cancers can be ruled out. Dr. Reed and Dr. Sternberg discovered the
microscopic difference of the Hodgkin s disease cells, which is how the cell received its name. (
What is Hodgkin Disease? 2015.) Statistics show that out of all the diagnosed lymphoma cases in
the United States, there are typically more male than female cases. The estimated rate for
lymphoma cases in the U.S. for 2015 is about 9,050 according to the research of the American
Cancer Society. Out of those cases, an estimated 3,950 will be female and 5,100 male. Hodgkin s
Lymphoma can occur in patients of all ages. Although it is rare, lymphoma can be diagnosed in

I came, I saw, I conquered. These words embody both Caesar s demeanor towards his triumph at
the Battle of Zela (47 B.C) as well as Gaius Marius demeanor towards his triumph at the Battle of
Aquae Sextiae (102 B.C). Andrew Jackson, the 7th President of the United States, will later
embody the spirit of Julius Caesarand Gaius Mariusthroughout his military campaign in the War of
1812 as well as his presidency (1829 1837). President Jackson s unprecedented imprint upon
American politics and the presidency has exposed viewers to analyze few similarities portrayed
from both Julius Caesar and Gaius Marius. Although the similarities portrayed between President
Jackson and Gaius Marius were immense, based on their executive power, the similarity between
Julius Caesar and Andrew Jackson were substantially greater.
To illustrate, Jackson s rise to sovereignty, like Caesar and Marius, began in the military where
he was positioned as a war General and gradually rose to a politician, stimulating innovation and
reform. Throughout his rise to politics, he advanced a new vision of the President as the direct
representative of the people make him the Consul Caesar of his time. Andrew Jackson became the
advocate of the people, and was commonly considered by historians to have been one of the nation
s most vigorous and powerful chief executives. During the 1800 s, America directed towards,

Describe The Role Of Fatty Acid In Metabolism Research Paper
The catabolism of fatty acids is the breakdown of food to release energy. Saturated fatty acids are
those which have a single bond between the carbon atoms whereas, unsaturated fatty acids are
those which have at least one double bond in their structure. The catabolism of both types of
fatty acids produce higher energy yields of 9kcal per gram of fat compared to alcohol with
7kcal per gram and only 4kcal per gram in carbohydrates and proteins. Energy is the capacity to
do work which initially comes from the sun. Energy is needed by the body for voluntary work,
maintaining body functions, homoeostasis and metabolic integrity. The breakdown of fatty acids
only occur when there is a lack of energy. One way to gain energy is through food. Fatty acids
inside food are distributed to cells for muscular contraction and general metabolism. Metabolism is
the interconversion of different chemicals in the body such as catabolism (exergonic reaction
releasing energy) and anabolism (endergonic reaction requiring energy). Three factors are
important in metabolism: 1) Energy released from some molecules are needed to build others e.g.
ATP. 2) Carbon skeletons are the building blocks for many different types of molecules. 3)

explain reality Tv genre as a covering topic that Big Brother related to. Then, it will introduce a
brief overview of the show structure. Subsequently, the work will briefly address the art of the
dramatic elements and the production and budget aspect. Finally, it will mainly focus on the
cultural appeal of Big Brother to its audience.

significantly broad. The reality TV is a representation of realism or actual aspects in different
forms and modes composing one genre. It is in effect a contrast to imaginary to refer to the
existence world in contrast to the fantasy world. Bignel (2005, P:61) clarified that The artificiality
of the scenario in some reality Tv programmes is countered by their use of non actor participants,
no scripts and a temporal progression which is close to the linear unfolding of lived daily time.
Also, Televisionreviewer Kerrie Murphy has a broader

How Is Zionism Still Relevant
Is Zionism Still Relevant?
There is no difference whatever between anti Semitism and the denial of Israel s statehood.
Classical anti Semitism denies the equal right of Jews as citizens within society. Anti Zionism
denies the equal rights of the Jewish people its lawful sovereignty within the community of nations.
The common principle in the two cases is discrimination. Abba Eban (New York Times, 1975).
Zionism is a Jewish national and political movement that supports the re establishment of a Jewish
homeland in the Land of Israel (the Holy Land ). The movement was emerged in the end of the
19th century in Europe. Over time, different Zionism ideological movements was raised, but all of
them considered Theodor Herzl as the founder of the Zionist movement. The ancient main goal of
all the Zionist movements, as Herzl partly imposed in his book, The Jewish State , was to create
the desired Jewish sovereignty in the state of Israel, ingathering of the exiles, and saw it as a

Guns Are A Controversial Topic
Guns are a very controversial topic for almost all people. There is a good amount of people who
are progun, for reasons such as self defense, hunting, and so on. There is also a good amount of
people who are antigun, for reasons such as they kill people, they are dangerous, and so on. The
people who own them, view guns as tools or toys, vs. the people who are scared of them, view
them as killing machines. There are many different views, thoughts, and opinions on guns, but
there is only one that is right. In Get a Knife, Get a Dog, but Get Rid of Guns by Molly Ivins, the
author is antigun. She claims to be proknife, which is very interesting seeing as a good portion of

t This making her point here not make sense, because if the point was to cause less murders and
attacks it would not be very effective. It would be a better, more effective, idea for her to have
been anti gun and anit knife, so basically anit weapon. Molly Ivins claims to take what the second
amendment says literally, but she does not do this very well. The second amendment says, A
well regulated militia being necessary to the security of the free state, the right of the people to
keep and bear arms shall not be infringed (qtd in Ivins323). Notice it says nothing about the
people who own guns having to be part of the well regulated militia, which she claims here, It
says quite clearly that guns are for those who form part of a well regulated militia, that is, the
armed force, including the National Guard. (Ivins324). The amendment truly just says that in
order to have a militia people must have the right to own guns, which is something the author
does not include in her interpretation. Where she was going with her interpretation can be seen
and it does make sense in a way, but in the end it just seems like she made it so it fit here
viewpoint. Ivins also say, Fourteen year old boys are not part of a well regulated militia.
(Ivins323). This should not even be included, because of the fact that fourteen year old boys cannot
even legally own guns. This means that they would have gotten them illegaly, so if

How To Use Leisure And Leisure Activities That Influenced...
Throughout the course of one s life, there are many life events and transitions, both normative and
unexpected that influence and shape the course of one s life and what leisure choices they make.
This can be applied to my own life timeline, as there are many events and leisure activities I can
think back on that shaped me into the person I am today. The purpose of this paper is to reflect on
my past and present lifestyleand experiences, and then analyze them using theories and models
existing in leisurestudies. Leisure and recreation played a large role in my life growing up, and
from a young age my mother put a strong emphasis on being involved in community life to both
myself and my sisters. My parents were huge factors in my socialization into leisure and were
very involved in my leisure all growing up. Much of this leisure was very family oriented such
as camping, and hiking. My mother made sure we spent as much time together as a family
outdoors; which as a result, created a substantial amount of family cohesiveness (West Marriam,
2009), creating strong bonds and a loving support system that I am still thankful for today.
However, when I was a teenager, my mother developed a chronic illness which disabled her from
being able to go camping or go on hikes for more than an hour or two. As well, my father began
to age and suffer from arthritis, a disease that creates severe joint pain in his back and like many
adults his age, serves as a constraint to leisure,

Benefits Of A Non Corporate Taxpayer
Expenses attributable to profit seeking farm activities are deductible as either business expenses
under IRC В§ 162 or production of income expenses under Section В§ 212. Under IRC В§ 162,
ordinary and necessary expenses paid or incurred in connection with a trade or business are
allowable as business expenses. Under IRC В§ 212, ordinary and necessary expenses paid or
incurred in connection with the production of income, or the management, conservation or
maintenance of property held for the production of income are allowable business expenses. Farm
expenses that satisfy the requirements under IRC В§ 162 or 212 are allowable without regard to
the amount of income derived from farming activity, subject to the risk rules, the passive activity
loss rules and any other applicable limitations. If a non corporate taxpayer engages in an activity
without a profitmotive, the activity is considered a hobby subject to the hobby loss rules.
The hobby loss rules under IRC В§ 183 limit the deductibility of certain items with respect to an
activity that is not engaged in for profit. The history of IRC В§ 183 indicates that one of the
primary motivating factors behind its passage was Congress desire to create an objective standard
to determine whether a taxpayer was carrying on a business for the purpose of realizing a profit or
was instead merely attempting to create and utilize losses to offset other income (Nickerson vs
Comm, 1983). Congress recognized that wealthy individuals have invested

Zimbardo s Prison Experiment
Adrien Brody (Travis) and Forest Whittaker (Michael) star in The Experiment, a film that
features a group of men who have volunteered and been chosen for a psychological experiment.
In the experiment the 26 men are split up into prison guards and inmates. Travis is selected as a
prisoner while Michael is picked to be a guard. A set of strict rules are put into place and if at
any time the rules are broken the experiment is over and the men will not receive their reward of
$14,000 for participating. As the movie progresses things move rather quickly and as most people
would probably assume, guards begin to feel like they re better than the prisoners and have all of
the power. This leads to the humiliation of the prisoners at the hands of the guards. In the final act

While attempting to stab Travis, Michael pauses seemingly in awe of what he has become and is
tackled to the ground. At this point the red light that signals the end of the experiment comes on
and the men stop the altercation. They exit the facility and are given their rewards and go home.
The film has a striking resemblance to something called Zimbardo s prison experiment . This
experiment, like the film, involves putting a group of individuals into a scenario in an attempt to
evaluate effect of the prison power structure. While there are differences from the actual
experiment and the film, the general storyline is there. Psychological experiment looking into
perceived power, dissent between guards and prisoners, riot, and an early ending to the
experiment are all present in the film just like in real life. In both instances the result was not as
expected. In 1973 Zimbardo s experiment ended after just 6 days rather than the intended 14. Both
show that given certain circumstances individuals will adapt to roles expected of them socially
even to the point of extremism. Yet while this may be true, there is a point in the film where

bumping through the limbs of the bleeding tree and landing at our feet with a thud. Its long,

How Did The Union Win The Civil War A Turning Point
During the time of the civil war, there were a lot of things that happened that affected the outcome
of the civil war. When this war started, both sides had reason to believe that they would win, but
both were surprised that the war was going to be longer and much more difficult than expected.
After this long and difficult war, it is safe to be said that the turning points and advantages that
helped the Union win this war were the resource ratio advantage, the population differential
advantage, the battle of Gettysburg, Emancipation Proclamation, and Sherman s March.
The civil war was a four year long war. Four years worth of war requires four years worth of

The battles were fought in effort for the North to take over all of America in order to run all of this
land the Northern way instead of having the South run it a different way down South. The battle of
Gettysburg was memorable because this all changed. During this battle the South for the first time
went on the offensive to try and push the North further back into their territory and attacked them.
The two sides battled for three days until the North gained the upper hand and won the battle.
Document 6 says this about the end of the battle, The Union victory at the Battle of Gettysburg,
sometimes referred to as the High Water Mark of the Rebellion resulted not only in Lee s retreat
for Virginia, but an end to the hopes of the confederate states of Americafor independence
(Document 6). This quote is explaining the fact that the Lee and his army was not going to be
able to force the North back so they were eventually doomed. Without the force to push the
enemy back you are going to be overrun so this was a turning point in the war when this was
realized. This may be seen as a turning point in the war which it is, but it can also be considered
an advantage. Since the North could not be over run there was not as much pressure on them
because they knew they could defend and they did not have to be as worried of attack. The North
used this advantage on its journey of winning the civil

Schools are the roots of every children in his/her life. With the help of school students grasps wide array of knowledge from school which is beneficial for them in their future. However, some people argue that private schools are better over public school. From my point of view, private schoolare better because it is enriched with academic opportunities, well qualify staff and extracurricular activities as compared to public School. Hence, I agree with this statement that private schools are better than public schools. The reason why private schools are better than public schools because it enriched with academics opportunities to a great extend rather than public schools. It is true that private schools have more rigorous academic programs such as Advanced Placement courses are commonly found in private schools. • 3. The s Nationalization Of The Suez Canal Colonial power ruled Egypt for almost a hundred years, exploiting and extracting as much wealth from Egypt as possible. After this long period of subjection to outside rule, Gamal Abdel Nasser became president of Egypt in 1956. He was the first Egyptian who was a ruler of the people. Egyptians, Arab nationalists, and many other world leaders loved Nasser and his leadership. His swift, bloodless takeover and rise to president in conjunction with his smooth, calm speeches gained him popularity. What truly made him infamous was his nationalization of the Suez Canal Company that ended British influence in Egypt. Decades after his death, Nasser is still believed to be greater than that of many other political leader since the Prophet Mohamed . However, many of Nasser s actions demand that his rule be reconsidered. Nasser s nationalization of the media, repression of political opponents, institutionalized torture of the Muslim Brotherhood, and failure to successfully implement his national planning all suggest that Nasser s actions contributed to the many economic, political, and military problems Egypt faces today In one of the first events to centralize his power, Nasser nationalized the media in 1960 shortly after becoming the central leader of Egypt in 1954 . Nasser became incredibly popular early in his reign. Arabs and Egyptians rallied in support of his socialist reform proposals and Nasser s efforts to unify all Arabs in the name Arab nationalism. • 4. Florence Was The Birthplace Of The Italian Renaissance The Italian Renaissance was a period in history unlike most others; this was an era of ingenuity, expansion, and enlightenment that would revolutionize both society as the people of the Renaissance knew it to be, and as the future generations of individuals across the globe understand it today. Florence held itself out to be the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, yet the people of this renaissance era never lost sight of the Greek and Roman heritage. The following essay will discuss the varying ways in which Florencewas the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and will provide the reader with examples that demonstrate Greco Roman ideas and practices in the Italian Renaissance. One of the most obvious examples in which Greco Roman culture was displayed in the era of the Italian Renaissance was through the works of art; and more specifically the medium of sculpture. Take for example, the piece by Donatello, Saint Mark, this piece harkens back to the artwork of the Greek culture by having the character whom is sculpted to be positioned in the contrappasto style, where the audience may view the drapery covering his body beneath, particularly his left knee as it projects forward... He is, in other words, a fully realized human form ; this technique was predominantly used by Greek artists, and was relatively abandoned by all other artists after the fall of the Greek empire to the Romans (Sayre, 2015). Yet, the artists of the Italian Renaissance saw the beauty and value of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of Beauty And The Beast And Apuleius s Cupid... Jeanne Marie LePrince de Beaumont s Beauty and the Beast and Apuleius s Cupid and Psyche both use a pair of sisters as a shadow figure to the beauty in the story. A shadow figure is a term used from Carl Jung s Process of Individuation , that describes the character who impedes on beauty s growth is a shadow character. The sisters in both stories hold features that beauty should gain in the end, such as marriage, being confident, and wanting more for herself. The sisters also hold features that are the opposite of beauty such as selfishness, envy, and being materialistic. These are ways that we can define the sisters as being the shadow. Although at first it seems the shadow figures of the sisters in Beauty and the Beastand Cupid and Psycheboth are trying to ruin beauty s development, nevertheless, both sets of sisters have different methods of ruining her individuation such as the sister s different relationships with beauty before she goes to the beast, different ways of stunting her growth, and different results after they attempt to ruin her individuation. At first, the sisters in the two stories seem to have similar ways in ruining beauty s development. Both the pairs of sisters are envious of their younger sister. You would almost think that the two older ones were twins from how alike they are. In Beaumont s Beauty and the Beast, the virtues of their younger sister had filled them with a good deal of envy (Beaumont, 138). This is about the older sisters. The ... They may show their enthusiasm by often attending sporting events or watch on television, being members of a fan club, follow athletic news through newspapers, online websites, and create fanzines. They show a certain behavior towards an organization. These behaviors manifest in different ways and show in different types of sports fans. Individual types that stick out include the bandwagon, the coach, the trash talker, the blind follower, and the statistician. The bandwagon, the person that sells into the hype of a club. • 8. There Is Currently A Critical Global Shortage Of Nurses There is currently a critical global shortage of nurses and it is projected to grow logistically in the prospective years. The reasons for the nurse shortage is multifactorial but one of the more prominent reasons is that nurses are at an increased risk for work related stress particularly in specialty areas such as mental health nursing. Psychiatric nurses are frequent victims of burn out and workplace violence because of the nature of patients they serve, the demands of the institution, and the shortage of trained staff. According to Qi et al. (2014), Nurses working in mental health hospitals have been found to suffer from higher levels of work related stress, as they are frequently exposed to violent behavior by mental health patients... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Itzhaki et al. (2015), interventions such as training staff to deal with violence directed at them contributed to the fact that even when nurses are working with mental health patients, it promoted work safety as well as less stress. In addition, routine nursing staff training structured around coping with aggression in mental health facilities are vital for preventing violence, dealing with aggression, establishing trust and rapport with the patient, maintaining the security and the well being of both staff and patients. Lastly, contrary to psychosocial and educational interventions is lack of interventions provided to support the staff to cope with work place violence and job related stress and burnout. Due to the lack of support, nurses tend to experience more burnout and less life satisfaction. According to Itzhaki et al. (2015) a possible explanation could be that mental health nurses often believe that patients violence towards them is to be expected and is considered part of the job...Experiencing abuse could lead to ambiguity; nurses must take care of patients who abuse them. This situation might evoke stress and reduce their life satisfaction. Evaluation Methods For Best Electronics After evaluating Best Electronics website using three different usability evaluation methods which are observations, questionnaires and heuristics evaluation. These usability evaluation methods allowed us to recognize the major flaws of the website, also assisted to identify the key features and aspects of the website which have to be improved. The first aspect needs to be changed within the website is the colors and the font size used throughout the entire website. It is one of the biggest flaws of the website, for this reason it is essential to create enough space between the paragraphs and images so the viewer has space to breathe, minimize the paragraphs size of the content, divide large blocks of information into more manageable groups where natural and appropriate, avoid content clutter especially on the homepage, present information in more precise and ordered way to minimize the scrolling required, and finally, organize the content with respect to the principles of contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity. All these steps must be taken to accomplish three of our usability goals (effective home page, Clarity of the interface, Motivating website), as well as to meet two of the Windows Interface Guidelines, aesthetics and simplicity . Another aspect is the lack of menu, quick links and search engine, based on our observations, users were not able to find different kinds of information they were looking for, and the reason for that is because the website does not offer any menu or quick links to allow users to navigate quickly, additionally, the website does not have a search engine which allows users to find products quickly, so one goal when redesigning the website is to build a main menu, and ... • 11. The Aspects Of Medieval Courtly Love In The Middle Ages Knights in armor, damsels in distress, heroic quests, masquerade balls this was the essence of romance in the Middle Ages. In medieval European literature, love is for the nobility, chivalrous, and virtuous. Andreas Capellanus defined courtly love as Love is a certain inborn suffering derived from the sight of and excessive meditation upon the beauty of the opposite sex, which causes each one to wish above all things the embraces of the other and by a common desire to carry out all of loves precepts in the other s embraces. Capellanus 28) In other words love and suffering go hand in hand, much like modern love. Capellanus gives the Rules of Love (1) governing how men and women should behave in relationships. Compared to the modern day idea of love, courtly loverarely had a happy ending. Before the 18th century, marriages were usually business arrangements that brought material advantages for everyone involved. Romancein the Middle Ages was mainly combined with Chivalry. In the Legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, King Arthur s Queen. Guinevere, fell in love with his right hand and fellow knight, Sir Lancelot. This is an example of one of the many illicit court romances that occurred due to the art of Medieval Courtly Love. • 12. Developmental Theories Of Child Development Developmental theory, with Piaget as the most prominent theorist, presents the idea that children actively construct knowledge as they manipulate and explore the world around them. Development is seen to take place in broad stages from birth through to adulthood, with each stage characterized by qualitatively distinct ways of thinking. However, some developmental theorists, in contrast to Piaget, place more emphasis on personal, social and emotional development rather than cognitive development and prefer to delay academic experiences until later, for instance after the age of seven years in Steiner s theory. A further distinction between developmental theorists sees some as holding a discontinuous theory of development that is believing that stages are discrete and distinct, with children moving from one to the other in a clear cut fashion, whereas others believe that the stages are continuous and overlap, with the child moving to and fro across distinctions. Developmental theories recognize both consistency and variability in child development (DEEWR, 2010: 2). The focus for early childhood educators is clearly on understanding each child s development and then planning to facilitate the identified developmental needs. This will determine what should be the nucleus of the curriculum. Developmental theories in practice If you incorporate a developmental perspective in your work with young children you would: believe that young children need time to mature and ... • 13. The Between Greek And Egyptian Civilizations The Earth has been around for a long time. Humans have been around for a long time. America has been around for a long time. However, these long times are on vastly different timescales, and are not even close to being comparable to each other. To human minds, however, it would seem as though anything beyond the scope of their lifetime blends into a series of events on a page. The years before their birth sticking together into an amalgam of history, distorted beyond recognition. We place prominence on events which have taken place recently, while discounting the vast eons between the ages of the distant past. It may seem as though an eternity has passed between now and 1945 for the centenarian, but even the oldest amongst us would see the time between the foundation of the greek and egyptian civilizations as having a length much less than the 2500 years that separate the two. Two varieties of ancient hominids may seem to be virtually contemporaries, when they are in actuality over a million years of evolutionremoved from one another. Humans have many methods to describe large numbers mathematically. Ever since the invention of the concept of zero essential to the ancients in keeping good records of various transactions humans have been using mathematics to describe ever larger quantities of items. The ancient story of the king and the chessboard of wheat demonstrates that humans have been using large numbers since time immemorial. In the story, a king tells a ... • 14. The Strangers That Came And Town By Ambrose Flack Freedom is a birthright for all humans, we should always feel accepted to speak our minds and be who we are. In his short story, The Strangers that Came to Town , Ambrose Flack is showing that true freedom is about being accepted. He shows this through the characterization of Mrs. Duvitch, Mr. Duvitch and Andy. Mrs. Duvitch s quiet and reserved nature made her the ideal victim of rumors. The less people knew about her the more room left for their imaginations. For example she is said to be the victim of an obscure skin disease and that every morning she shook scales out of the bed sheet (3). The rumors began to cease after her dinner party with Andy s family where her true nature began to be revealed. Following the dinner party, Andy s mother invites her to a tea party Where her delicate manners, and the fine needlework which engaged her, won the approval of the local housewives who were present (15). Showing her embroidery skills helped her connect with the ladies of the town. Embroidery is a way she expresses herself and after feeling comfortable with the ladies she revealed that side of her. When she felt accepted by the ladies, Mrs. Duvitch was finally confident enough to invite them to her house. After a while Mrs. Duvitch found courage to ask these people into her house (16). Opening our homes to someone takes a great deal of trust. Our homes are our safe place where we can be ourselves. To the Duvitch s their home meant a lot more to them ... There are three main points as listed by the elderly statesmen of the faculty that need to be addressed and clearly defined for the museum: its mission, its direction, and its objectives. These are clearly the focal problems in this case. What the university has to do as a whole is to set organizational goals and develop the plans to accomplish them. According to Lizinger, Lattuca, Hadgraft and Newstetter (2011, p.134), PBL is the approach that allows learners to practice finding solutions throughout their academy. Learners in a PBL process have to reflect, identify and learn about the complex problem and the cycle is repeated until learners find a solution that they can do both in writing and presentation. There are some basics of PBL such as decision making, communication, collaboration, self regulation, self motivation and flexibility. This excerpt gives insight that the narrator is suffering a loss related to a relationship of some kind, presumably romantic, as suggested by the use of the word delicious. Despite a loss of such close proximity, the narrator can take this memory and cherish it. She must come to the realization that this memory remains the same, despite a newly acquired absence. The memories of these two characters are not altered by the present, and can still be used to bring happiness through reflection and joyful revelations of the past. Offred and Walker s narrator both use memories as motivators. For as long as somebody is thinking of someone, they are not truly gone. A life devoid of love creates a period of vigorous mental instability and often opens eyes and promotes changes in lifestyle and perspective. • 30. Foreign Direct Investment Inflows Help Countries Improve... There is a long standing belief that foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows help the countries to have the opportunity to make further improvements on their economies. In recent decade, this belief strengthened by the fact that faster growing economies tend to attract more FDIs. Even if the direction of causality between FDI and growth is not absolute yet, positive impacts of FDI such as new technology, know how or creating employment are enough attractive for policymakers. Consequently, investigating factors that pull FDI into country became a crucial topic in the literature. One of the most significant factors of FDI inflows is trade openness. The term trade openness refers to the degree, of which an economy allows to conduct trade transitions with other economies (Skouloudakis et al., 2013;12). The degree of a country s openness can influence FDI in various ways. For instance, with high degree of trade openness and low trade costs, multinational enterprises (MNE) can prefer export rather than FDI. Therefore, trade openness can negatively affect FDI inflows. On the other hand, higher degree of trade openness implies lower costs adding to the total cost of a product and less trade restrictions. MNEs want to take advantage of the low cost of natural factor endowments (labor, capital, technology). Thus, trade openness can positively affect FDI inflows (Seim, 2009; 5). Therefore, the evidence of trade openness as a determinant of FDI is controversial in literature. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Importance Of Online Privacy In the United States 84% of Americans have access to the internet (Perrin and Duggan) and 77% of Americans own a smartphone (Smith). The online world is growing with every upload, comment, and text, but with this growth comes concerns over the privacy of the information we are putting online. Technology has broadened our social horizons, but it has also pushed people to share personal information with the unseen masses. Who should have access your personal information and why? If information regarding a serious crime is being protected by our personal device, should law enforcement be granted access? Our personal devices serve as a mask to hide behind, which leads us to step outside the scope of what is morally acceptable. As our reliance on personal devices grows, so does our expectation of our right to total online privacy, however complete protection of privacy denies the U.S. justice system of its ability to effectively do its job. Our day to day lives revolve around technology. Our phones are often the first thing we look at in the mornings and the last thing we look at before we go to bed. We use them throughout the day to hold personal conversations, share pictures and thoughts on social media, and to browse the internet, furthermore we expect that this information will be kept from prying eyes. There are, after all, some downsides to privacy. For example, the ability to control information about oneself can also enable dishonesty and hypocrisy (Defining Privacy). ... It is difficult to determine when the Thirty Years War really began. Ultimately, a culmination of events led to the tension between the countries of the Ottoman Empire. Prior to the war s beginning on May 23, 1618, Europe was in a state of religious, political, and imperial turmoil. The Lutherans, Catholics, and Calvinists were all competing for religious dominance. Political leaders tried to advocate for their religions in the elections. There was much controversy regarding the new kings of Bohemia and political stress between the Bourbons and the Hapsburgs. The extraordinary chance which had saved three lives was a holy miracle or a comic accident according to the religion of the beholder, but it had no political significance (Wedgwood p. 79). The Denfenstration of Prague is the initial event that instigated the tension because it was a rebellion. People became angry and fought for what they thought was right. Frederick and Ferdinand began to raise their own armies by asking for help from other European countries. Ferdinand received assistance from Maximilian of Bavaria. In Western Civilizaton, it also mentions him getting help from Spain. He ensured this help by promising Frederick s lands to them. Wedgwood explains that this could be considered unconstitutional according to the Peace of Augsburg. Ferdinand signed this document declaring that German liberties would be observed in 1555. This means that each country can have its own religion if it s Catholic or Lutheran and that they are the Electors for the empire. If the German princes do not consent to the impeachment of Frederick as Bohemian king, then giving the land away is stealing. When rethinking the racism in Benito Cereno under the context of Althusser s theories on ideology, racism is an ideologyforcibly implemented on the subject through the social institution of slavery. Delano s actions and thoughts throughout Benito Cereno prove that his racismis a result of a socially imposed ideology and challenge the modern ideals of racism that place the blame for racist attitudes entirely on the racist subject. Delano is the subject of a racist ideology and has been forced into that ideology through the social apparatus of slavery A fundamental aspect of ideology is that an ideology always exists in an apparatus, and its practices, or practice. The existence is material (Althusser 695). The ideology of racism uses the institution of slavery as an apparatus for implementing racism. Slavery was a socially imposed practice that trained those who were enslaving others to accept the reality and need for this given institution.
