The Negative Impacts Of The Reformation
The Reformation was perhaps the greatest religious movement in Christ since the early church. It
revived the Biblical and New Testament thoeological studies. b) a negative effect of the reformation
could be the disunity of the church. When the church was all one, we at least had some since of
fellowship. But now, all of the churches have their own little groups and we condemn other churches
for not being the same as your denomination. We should all come together as a body of Christ and
unify instead of break apart. c) Although Christians can believe indifferent doctrines, the way we serve
God doesn t necessarily matter if you believe he died for your sins. If we can come together and can
be unified in our faith, then I believe Christ will expand to different people. Also, if you have faith,
then you should have unity, and vise versa. d) There is a time for division in the body of Christ. When
a church group is denying scripture and, after being confronted, still continues their same practice,
then it is time to break fellowship with that group. This has happened with the Metropolitan
Community Church denomination which openly advocates the support of homosexuality. Also, there
is an Evangelical Lutheran church that is thinking about accepting homosexual relationships into
church. At this point it is ok to draw the line and say enough is enough. e) Tolerance has to do with
permitting and allowing, and putting up with, while love is active and has to do with concern for

4. In what respect is the title ironical? What kind of irony is this? Why does The Guest make a better
title than The Prisoner ?
In the short story The Guest by Albert Camus, irony is show in many aspects throughout the story. In
the main title, the irony of it is that the word guest is not necessarily used to really describe a guest,
because the guest is the prisoner of the French government. The arab prisoner, had been convicted of
supposingly killing his cousin while they were in the village, the police want to get the arab prisoner
to France for a trial regarding his conviction. The short story ``The Guest is much more appropriate
rather than titling the story The Prisoner because, the story isn t based on the Prisoner and his choices
and decisions, but more towards Daru and the duties he had to fufill as he was the host. 5. This story
has as its background a specific political situation the French Algerian crisis in the years following
World War II. How does Daru reflect France s plight? Is the story s meaning limited to this situation?
What does the story tell us about good and evil and the nature of moral choice?
In the short story The Guest by Albert Camus, Daru s predicament goes hand in hand with France s
difficulties and Camus self appreciation. In the short story The Guest we are introduced to see Daru s
concern to attend the political situation in the French North

Proving the Kawasaki Theorem
Introduction:
Research
We chose this project; because we all love making origami and now we will know everything in it.
Origami means the art of paper folding. It s connected to the mathematics called geometry. When we
fold origami we also create lots of surfaces. For instance, by folding a square piece of paper in half
diagonally or from one tip to the opposite tip, we create two surfaces in the shape of triangles.
Mathematicians related origami to a theorem called the Kawasaki theorem. The Kawasaki theorem
states that if we add up the angle measurements of every angle around a point, the sum will be 180. It
is a theorem giving a decision for an origami construction to be flat. Kawasaki theorem also states that
a given crease pattern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sink Fold
The sink fold is a method of blunting a point that has no open edges. The fold should first be
precreased. Then carefully open the model and tuck the point inside. Flatten the model afterwards
along existing creases.
Procedure of making a pelican origami:
1. Start with your paper white side up. Fold in half, along the line shown, and then open out again. 2.
Fold the outside corners into the centre line, and crease well.
3. Fold the outside edges into the centre once again. 4. Turn model over and fold bottom point up to
the top point. Crease very well. 5. Fold in half
6. Rotate model so it is now lying down. 7. Raise the inside triangle upwards slowly, then flatten and
crease well. 8. Inside Reverse Fold the head along the crease shown.
9. Fold each wing upward as shown, then fold it back again slightly. The pelican will now rest on its
wings and sit up. Finished Pelican!
Classifying some types of origami
There are lots of types of origami:
Action Origami
Origami Tessellations
Pure land Origami
Toilet Paper Origami
Wet Folding Origami
Crease Patterns
Dollar Bill Origami
Golden Venture Folding
Modular Origami
Conclusion:
Thus, we conclude that in this project we can use the Kawasaki theorem to construct a pelican or a
crane using certain folds of origami.

Black Holes Research Paper
Throughout the lifespan of galaxies and universes, interstellar objects are created and destroyed
including stars, asteroids, nebulas, and black holes. One of the rarest interstellar creations are black
holes, of which are only found in three forms. These three forms include stellar, supermassive, and
intermediate black holes. Black holes are mysteries that were not fully understood until the beginning
of the 20th century, when multiple scientist focused their research on them. They predicted theories
and made many discoveries. These scientists include Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, John Wheeler,
and Stephen Hawking. These scientists have helped us to quickly advance our knowledge on the
universe and surrounding galaxies.

They are scattered throughout the galaxies. A stellar black hole is the product of the death of a giant
star such as a pulsar or a neutron star. Black holes in general are very rare because most stars are not
massive enough to create them. When a star stops producing fusion energy, the equilibrium of the star
no longer exists. Without the star producing any fuel, there is no pressure created that can hold the star
in place. The pressure that a star creates is used to prevent the gravity from crushing the core. Now
that there is no pressure pushing outward, the gravity becomes so violent that it crushes matter to the
point that it is completely destroyed. At this point, black holes are born. Black holes are created in rare
occasions. During the death of most stars, they slowly dim out or explode into trillions of microscopic
particles. For example, the sun, which is a red dwarf, will slowly die out. Eta Carinae on the other
hand, located 8,000 light years away from Earth, is likely to explode within the next several hundred
thousand

Le Carnaval Des Animaux-Ciklus Virtuoso
The online concert that I listened to was called Le Carnaval des Animaux Ciklus Virtuoso, which
lasted about twenty seven minutes. Le Carnaval des Animaux composed of a chamber orchestra, it
was a small group playing. If I listened to this on a CD, I would think this was a symphony orchestra.
While watching this concert, I observed many different things. The instruments that I saw were
pianos, cello, violin, clarinet, xylophone, flute, and the viola. The piece s dynamics started out
pianissimo (very softly) and then began to go from soft to louder over time which is called crescendo
and the other instruments started to chime in. The most played instrument in the concert was the
piano. When the pianos were playing, they sometimes took low runs of octaves. The piano played a
cackling tune as the violin started to play louder. The first movement concluded with all the
instruments using a fortissimo (very loud) note. In the middle of the concert, the pianos played a
higher, softer, version of the melody while the violins were playing at the same beat. More towards the
end, the piano was played gentle, while a solo cello played a slow smooth melody. The pitch of the
violin sound went from high pitch to low pitch. My observation throughout listening to this concert
were, it sounded to me like the violins and cellos were attempting to make squeaky noises to imitate a
certain type of animal. The same scale was played over and over again. The flute was played very
softly, while the cello was played louder. Towards the middle of the concert, the melody is played by
the flute. The xylophone was played in rondo form, which was played in more than ... Show more

The Disappearance Of Bumblebees
Bumblebees have been rapidly disappearing there are many different theories of what is causing the
population to decrease. One possible reason for the decline in the population of bumblebees is due to
cell phone radiation. Electromagnetic exposure causes a change in the bee s behavior. The radiation
interferes with their navigation systems causing impairment they get confused and are not able to
make it back to their hive. Bumblebees and other insects use crypotochrome for navigation.
Crypotochromes are photoreceptors that regulate entrainment by light by the circadian clock.
Bumblebees use it to sense the direction of earth s magnetic field. There ability to do this is
compromised by cellphone radiation. In a study at Panjab University in

Impact on video and cell phones in law Enforcement
Technological advances will continue to change the ways in which police agencies combat crime. It s
critical that these technologies are implemented correctly. New equipment, no matter how effective
will be useless, unless the operators completely understand the function, application, and procedures
of the technology.
Cameras can interfere with the interact of the nature flow of law enforcement and citizen, because its

Suspended Basement Ceiling
One of the most important things to consider when remodeling your basement is the basement ceiling.
People find basement ceilings a bit hideous and if you are of the same opinion, then you need to do
something about it. Most people want their basement to be warm and cozy, instead of that desolate
look often acquainted with an unfinished basement. There are different basement ceiling ideas to make
your ceiling a place that you want it to be. Basement ceilings may either be dry walled or suspended.
You can choose which kind to install but always remember to add decorative touches in order to make

The Holocaust s Night By Elie Wiesel
It caused a lack of trust. It separated friends. It brought families closer. The Holocaust forced family
members to hold on to each other and trust each other. In 1933, the Jewish population of Europe stood
at over nine million [...] By 1945, the Germans and their collaborators killed nearly two out of every
three European Jews as part of the Final Solution, the Nazi policy to murder the Jews of Europe
(Introduction to the Holocaust). Night is a memoir written by Elie Wiesel, a Holocaust survivor. Elie
Wiesel s Night describes that father and son relationships, and loyalty changes through acts of
inhumanity.
Elie Wiesel did not feel very connected to his father in the beginning of the memoir. In 1941, at the
age of thirteen, Elie Wiesel was immensely religious and studied Talmud every day. He asked his
father if he could find someone who would mentor him in his studies of Kabbalah. Elie s father
responded to him by saying, You are too young for that. Maimonides tells us that one must be thirty
before venturing into the world of mysticism, a world fraught with peril. First you must study the
basic subjects, those you are able to comprehend (Wiesel 4). Elie wanted to be a Kabbalist, but his
father did not even want him to study Kabbalah. Elie s father thought, according to Maimonides, that
he was too young to learn about Kabbalah and disapproved of his choice to study Talmud. Elie s father
was not very caring, even towards his own family. He is described as:

Competitive Bass Fishing
How did Bass fishing become a sport?
Fishing has always been a way to collect food, but did you know how it became a competitive sport?
It all started with a game of basketball. I am sure you are thinking to yourself; a game of basketball is
how fishing tournaments came about?
It all started with a man by the name of Ray Scott in 1968. While watching a basketball game he
thought of the idea of competitive Bass fishing. He than began to brainstorm ideas and write down the
rules of fishing tournaments. Later that year, he held the first All American Bass Tournament. After
that tournament, competitive Bass fishing took off like a 10 pound Bass taking away your fishing
pole.
Fishing Tournaments
There are many different types of tournaments that one can fish in. It all depends on the type of
tournament that the angler enters. There are local tournaments, just for fun tournaments, and
professional tournaments that include Bassmaster and Fishing League Worldwide (FLW). ... Show

The one that is most talked about, and almost every angler and co anger s dream, is the Bassmaster s
Classic tournament. In order to be an angler in this tournament, you must be considered a professional
angler. Like many of the well known anglers, they did not get to the Classic overnight. They needed a
great amount of practice, such as fishing in other tournaments, and patience to get in to a spot as an
angler in the Bassmaster s Classic.
Winning these tournaments can cause for the angler to earn a lot of money and recognition as one of

Analysis Of Dead Poets Society
A) Overview
The 1989 movie, Dead Poets Society, features a group of boys attending a private boarding school, the
Welton Academy. The central conflict of the movie stems from the clash between educational
approaches. The movie uses the educational conflict as an engine to propel the plot and to explore and
develop the characters.
The Welton Academy s education style is most definitely traditional. The school s educational
approach is revealed by Headmaster Nolan three minutes into the movie as he states the Four Pillars of
Welton Tradition. Honor. Discipline. Excellence. The word Tradition is literally engraved in the
schools pillars. This is similar to Hirsch s theory of Cultural Literacy a conservative theory of

Keating about 12 minutes into the movie he whispers in the boys ears the words carpe diem which in
Latin means seize the day. Mr. Keating embodies a teaching pedagogy of equality between teacher and
student in the classroom, teaching students to think independently and critically, and challenge
conventional thought. The boys seize the day by creating a club called The Dead Poets Society. Mr.
Keating s progressive pedagogy thus inspires a radical club. This is the first step in the boys move
from conservatism to progressivism and ultimately to a radical crisis. The club s radicalness peaks
when a member, Charlie Dalton demands that girls be allowed to attend Welton Academy. He causes a
full campus meeting where he mocks Headmaster Nolan by holding a telephone out and instructing
him that God has been calling and that he should answer. As one could expect, the conservative
headmaster does not respond well. Headmaster Nolan interviews each student individually until one
student, Richard Cameron, turns in the rest of the club to save himself from expulsion. This
demonstrates how a new approach can threaten more established norms, followed by a retaliatory
backlash.
The final major scene of the movie occurs after one of the boys, Neil Perry, defies his father by acting
as Puck in A Midsummer s Night Dream. This radical step leads his oppressive conservative father to
threaten to send him send him

Effects Of White People On Race
A Conversation With White People on Race
In a world where words and color have so much meaning and power, I ve grown confused by the word
race and the bizarre pigments it assigns. We re called the human race, yet while we run together in the
single race of life, we have split into teams: white, yellow, brown, black. My bewilderment fails to end
there. Though his cheeks are ruddy and spotted with moles, my father is called white, and my mother,
though pale as porcelain, is a yellow woman. As for me, I belong nowhere, hopping between my
mother and father s people, unwanted by either.
Viewing Stephenson and Foster s video reminded me of the tensions the topic of race has in our
society, felt even by those who benefit from this strange competition

The Use Of Hyperbole In British Literature
Critical Analysis In this analysis I will be discussing the use of hyperbole throughout British literature.
Hyperbole is defined as an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally
( Hyperbole ). The use of this literary device is prevalent throughout early and middle British literature
and even through modern day examples. I believe the use of this literary device in British literature is
due to the fact that religion and the aristocracy were integral parts of the society from the very
beginning. Both of these institutions were constraining and controlling. The use of hyperbole allowed
writers to be able to express their thoughts and opinions without fear of harsh treatment or negative
repercussions. In addition, it was possible for the writers to provide vivid and visceral descriptions of
characters and locations. Hyperbole and hyperbolic language are both significant characteristics of
British literature that transcend history. The first piece of literature I will be examining is The
Wanderer. The Wanderer is a piece of early English literature that describes the characters experiences
with exile and the loss of his material wealth. In this early English poem, the author uses hyperbolic
language to describe the internal feelings of The Wanderer, in addition to, the physical and temporal
experience of the exile itself. In doing so, the author brings attention to the existential crisis the main
character has in losing his gold friend and

The Tolkien The Hobbit
The Hobbit
The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien is novel about a hobbit who comes to the realization that there was more
to him than what meets the eye. In the Middle Earth, around the third age, Bilbo Baggins embarks on
the adventure of a lifetime. Throughout the obstacles and hardships of the adventure, Bilbo Baggins
transforms from a man of doubts and comfort to a hero with a newfound confidence and leadership.
The Hobbit, a book of fantasy and adventure, is likely to appeal to readers of any age. The author who
tells an entertaining story, offers all readers a chance to journey on an adventure with a magical
wizard, a hobbit and dwarves. In the beginning of the novel the author s tone transitions from
humorous to ominous and suspenseful. Humorously, the author talks about Bilbo s attitude towards
Gandalf s offer of an adventure stating, We don t want any adventures here, thank you! You might
want to try over the Hill or across the water. By this he meant the conversation was at end (6). As the
book progresses, the author s tone darkens, and the suspense of the novel rises. One example of
suspense in the novel is Bilbo s encounter with Gollum. Does it guess easy? It must have a
competition with us, my preciouss! If precious asks, and it doesn t answer, we eats it, my preciousss.
If it asks us and we don t answer, then we does what it wants, eh? We shows it the way out, yes! (70).

The Legal System Of The Law
The law is worldwide; it affects almost every aspect of our everyday lives and also has an impact on
every individual. There are many types of laws such as laws that deal with crimes and laws that
govern activities within the community; there are also specific laws in certain portions of the legal
system. Laws are made in order to give us rules of conduct that protect everyone s individual rights
(Canada Department of Justice). How law is dealt with is seen to vary throughout different countries
for the reason that each country contains different laws that are based to fit their culture and customs.
However, when law is dealt with, regardless of the area it is enforced in; if the crime of the accused is
serious enough it will go through a trial system which is also seen to vary depending on the country. A
trial system is the process of examining a case in the court of law and deciding if an individual is
innocent or guilty of what they are being accused for (Macmillan dictionary). Trial systems are an
important part of the legal system for the reason that everyone is entitled to the right of a fair trial
procedure which allows the individual that is being accused to be determined innocent or guilty
through the rule of law so that if the individual is in fact innocent then there will be no consequences
and all will be forgotten and if guilty they will be dealt with properly. Trials are held accordingly
depending on the trial system that is being used in that particular court

The Character Analysis Of Iago Of Othello
At first glance, Iago of Othello can appear to have little motivation for his destructive tendencies;
however, when viewed through the lens of antisocial personality disorder, his incentive takes on a
twisted internal logic. His all consuming desire for revenge is not necessarily because of any outside
influence by Othello himself, but rather the fact that Othello disrupts Iago s conception of himself and
is a pawn whom he can manipulate for pleasure. His arrogance and entitlement are also classic
symptoms of antisocial personality disorder, as is his superficial charm, which allows him to enlist the
assistance of Roderigo in his plot to destroy Othello s marriage.

For example, act 1 scene 1 depicts him and Roderigo discussing Othello s impending marriage.
During this scene, Roderigo mentions that Iago hast had [his] purse/ As if the strings were thine (1.1.2
3). A common symptom of antisocial personality disorder is the inability to handle money responsibly,
whether because of an unreliable source of income or reckless spending (Personality and Personality
Disorders, 88). In either case, from the first scene of the play it is clear that he is leeching off of
Roderigo for personal gain. His disorder appears to manifest itself differently depending on the person
with whom he is interacting, as shown when he speaks to Emelia and his charming, relatively eloquent
exterior melts away into an aggressive, rude figure. This behavioral pattern indicates that Iago is a
fundamentally antisocial person, not reacting to a specific negative situation.
Iago reveals a good deal about the inner workings of his mind when he states that But for [his] sport
and profit. [He] hate[s] the Moor (1.3.386). He relates this to the alleged adultery between his wife
and Othello, but when viewed through the lens of antisocial personality disorder, it becomes literally
true. According to the DSM, such individuals are frequently motivated by pleasure seeking. The
reasons which Iago gives for his hatred of Othello do not stand up to scrutiny when his hostile

Eleanor Roosevelt s Role Of Women
While I spoke there was complete silence. It was striking after the pandemonium that had existed....on
several occasions [Franklin] said to others, Her speech was just right (Roosevelt 217 218). The
unprecedented amount of attention and respect given to the First Lady at the 1940 Democratic

Eleanor Roosevelt had on people (Roosevelt 216 218). No other First Lady before Eleanor had taken
as many steps as she did to improve the nation. She helped to pave the way for future women,
redefining feminism and aiding in the progress of improving the lives of those in both the United
States and abroad (First Lady Biography: Eleanor Roosevelt). Coming from beginnings filled with
public service, not only did Eleanor Roosevelt drastically change the role of the First Lady, but she
also modernized the role of women in society through all stages of her life. Very early I became
conscious of the fact that there were people around me who suffered in one way or another (Roosevelt

exposure to public service led her to continuously help others around her. When her husband, Franklin
Roosevelt was appointed Assistant Navy Secretary in 1913 under the Wilson administration, Eleanor

Comparing these cultures to each other, you can see that they are very different. For one the Ik culture

Society didn t seem to think of themselves as family but as associates to each other to carry the

maximum parsimony and likelihood suggest introns were present in the last eukaryotic common
ancestor (LECA) (Csuros, 2005) and have since been gained, lost, and adapted to a multitude of
functions by separate lineages; any degree of intron conservation in modern eukaryotes is suggestive
of function, despite appearing to exist solely for removal. Although they possess many valuable roles
this does not explain the ubiquity of introns within eukaryotic genomes. To understand their
widespread presence despite their apparent deleterious effects it is necessary to discern the
evolutionary origins and conditions which impelled their prevalence. Structural ... Show more content

Per this theory, GpII invaded the eukaryotic lineage in its genesis via the mitochondrial endosymbiosis
and have been inserting themselves into coding genes continuously since; a mechanism consistent
with the high levels of GpII in some α proteobacteria (Robart Zimmerly, 2005) and the ability of yeast
mitochondrial GpII to insert themselves into double stranded genomic DNA (Zimmerly et al., 1996).
Symbiosis related selection pressure upon the α proteobacteria coupled with its bacterial nature of
jettisoning unwanted genes caused the exchange of GpII and cognate maturases (Schmitz Linneweber
et al., 2015) between the proto mitochondrion and the host cell which lacked the necessary control
mechanisms to restrict their spread. Hence, the proportion of introns in the LECA genome is
considerably greater than in contemporary eukaryotic lineages, excluding some vertebrates (Figure.1).
Comparison of nuclear encoded cytoplasmic ribosomal proteins and mitochondrial ribosomal proteins
showed that intron positions were conserved (Yoshihama et al., 2006), suggestive of common descent
between all eukaryotes. However, the presence of introns presents significant problems to the host.
Principally, random and aggressive insertion of foreign gene elements is likely to disrupt essential
coding sequences within the host genome; hence, only neutral intron insertions could persist.
Additionally, splicing reactions require the energetically expensive and complex machinery of the
spliceosome, comprised of over 150 proteins and 5 snRNA units (Wahl et al., 2009), any fault in
which would cause broad harm to the cell (Chorev Carmel,

11 October, 2016 In 1775 General Thomas Gage, Commander if the British Force in the
Massachusetts Colony, issued orders to the troops quartered in Boston, Massachusetts to march to
Concord and and destroy the colonial military stores that were there. The reason the British were in
Massachusetts in the first place was because the people of Massachusetts were very rebellious and
have had many violent resistances against the British already. The secret orders that Gage issued were
hardly a secret and some colonials knew about this movement a week before the British moved out.
Both the British troops and the colonial militia meet each other at Lexington Green on the 19th of
April, 1775. Suddenly a bullet whizzed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Bateman, a British soldier who was captured by the colonists said that he heard a command to
fire given to the Regulars, and that none of the colonists fired at the Regulars(3). This completely goes
against the British evidence which clearly says that they did not give the command to fire and were
giving orders to not fire. Also, since he was captured by the colonists, he obviously wants to say
something that pleases them since they are his audience. That makes his evidence unreliable since he
could have made that up to please the colonists who had captured him. Next up is Sylvanus Wood who
was a commonwealth of Massachusetts and gave a sworn testimony on June 17, 1826. He Said that
The officer then swung his sword, and said Lay down your arms, you damn d rebels, or you are all
dead men fire (5). He also said One member of the company told me, many years since, that after
Parker s company had dispersed, and he was at some distance, he gave them the guts of his gun (5).
Wood said that The British ordered their troops to fire, as well as him saying that one of the colonists
did in fact fire against the Regulars. This contradicts the fact that Bateman said that none of the
colonists fired at the Regulars while Wood is saying that at least one colonists did fire upon the
Regulars. It also seems a bit unreliable since Wood s testimony was made almost 50 years later after
the event took

Apollo 11 Research Papers
The Apollo 11 mission of 1969 marks the biggest leap in technological advancements for humanity.
Neil Armstrong is seen taking the first steps on the moon forever making his mark in humanity.
However, theories surrounding the moon landing have come to light. Conspiracy theorists say NASA,
the National Aeronautics Space Administration, have faked the Apollo 11 moon landing. Yet, present
evidence can support the authenticity of the moon landing. Evidence such as photos, rock samples,
technology, and computer monitoring support the moon landing. The moon landing of 1969 did
happen. One of the key pieces of evidence of the moon landing is photo evidence. Numerous photos
as well as video have been released and seen by the public. One of the ... Show more content on

Dr. David Mckay, Chief Scientist for Planetary Science and Exploration at the Johnson Space Center,
concludes, Moon rocks are absolutely unique... They differ from Earth rocks in many aspects. The
rocks contain a composition unlike the composition of rocks from Earth. Randy L. Korotev of the
Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences of Washington University in St. Louis gives, Lunar
samples show evidence of formation in an extremely dry environment with essentially no free oxygen
and little gravity... Lunar rocks and soil contain gases (hydrogen, helium, nitrogen, neon, argon,
krypton, and xenon) derived from the solar wind with isotope ratios different than Earth forms of the
same gases. The ability to imitate, or reconstruct, a fake lunar rock is ludicrous. Lunar rock samples
are simply composed of too many foreign materials for any scientist to recreate, even for the
government. Moreover, the lunar rocks have been inspected internationally by a myriad of scientists.
As any scientist who observed the rock, they will say the lunar rock has a more consistent composure
of iron oxide (FeO) to manganese oxide (MnO). Rocks from earth may appear similar, but the
composition of Earth rock is far more inconsistent than any lunar rock. Korotev himself says best, It
was easier and cheaper to go to the Moon and bring back some rocks than it would have been to create
all these fascinating features on Earth. Inspected by many and unopposed, the lunar rocks

The Film Adaptation Of Richard Matheson s I Am Legend
The film adaptation of Richard Matheson s 1954 novel, I am Legend, was released in December of
2007. Starring Will Smith, and directed by Francis Lawrence, the movie utilizes a viral outbreak,
instead of a bacterium (like the book), to spread the disease (Lawrence). Dr. Alice Krippin genetically
engineers the measles virus to act as an anti cancer treatment. She remarks in an interview that out of
the 10,009 clinical trials, there have been 10,009 confirmed cancer free patients. However, the Krippin
virus mutates within the bodies of the patients and begins destroying what makes them human. KV
becomes transmittable through saliva. New York City is put into a quarantine when the number of
infected become too great, and U.S. Army virologist, Robert Neville, is working to find a solution to
prevent further spread. The virus mutates further and is airborne, leading the president to order the
destruction of the bridges leading off Manhattan and quarantine all the infected on the island.
Revealed through flashbacks, Robert Neville s family dies because of this order. In an attempt to save
his wife and child, he has them evacuated from the Southport dock, but as the helicopter is taking off,
another helicopter collides with theirs, ending in a ball of fire. Three years after the outbreak, Robert
Neville is the sole survivor in New York City, as everyone is either infected or dead. He is
accompanied by his daughter s dog, Sam, and has a resemblance to normal life through

The desire brought to a desire to dominate the trade among the Europeans to gain unlimited access to
the goods created by the Europeans (Solar et al. 6). However, the European disease led to increasing
the death rates within the Iroquois Confederacy as many lost their lives trying to fight for the colony.
These high rates of death brought up the need of replacing their population with the captives brought

The issue of ethnicity is vital to the growth of an economy in the determination of the language that
will be spoken widely. It is only by language similarity that people will be able to work together
peacefully because they can understand each other easily (Panayi Panikos 48). The language also
determines the social and political organization in a particular place because it is through language
that people can agree on the rule of the land and even marry between different races and religions.
Lack of a defined ethnic group in Northern Americas resulted in conflicts among the original

Unesired Behavior
Behaviour is something we acquire and shape it to fit our requirements. Behaviour is shaped by an
individual s interaction with culture and environment. This behavioural report will focus on the
undesired behaviour, which is the heavy internet usage. The report will aim to establish baseline,
monitor the behaviour and execute treatments to reduce and control the undesired behaviour. Internet
addiction is defined as the indulgent or overuse of the internet. Extreme internet use occurs daily in
my life, regardless during anytime of the day. The undesired behaviour that is the internet addiction
has to reduce the usage in order to have a positive impact on the life. The heavy internet usage has to
be reduced, and in its place introduce hobbies and time for study. Boredom is the main cause for the
need to use internet. In the internet there are comics, television shows and other activities that could
help elevate boredom. Due to the heavy internet use, socializing with family and friends have been
significantly reduced. The repeated heavy internet usage has an impact on the physical burden and

awarding internet usage from two hours to three hours. The delayed positive reinforcement was

behaviour at all, the undesired behaviour was consistent. For the last four days all the treatment plans
were removed to observe the undesired behaviour without any reinforcements and punishments. The
monitored undesired behaviour was consistent throughout the behaviour modification experiment.

Once shareholders became drawn to stocks because everyone else was buying, realistic valuations of
stocks based on their earnings potential got crowded out by what Greenspan characterized in 1996 as
‘irrational exuberance . This kind of bull market is typically fuelled by cheap money and lots of debt.
The low interest policy pursued by the Fed in the wake of the Asian crisis in 1997–99 induced many
investors to take out broker loans for additional stock purchases. With shares serving as collateral for
those loans, rising stock prices enhanced the borrowing capacity of investors and so became a funding
machine for the bull market. In addition, many firms took out a lot of debt to buy back their shares and
so counter the dilution of stock ownership brought about by the extensive use of stock options as a
new form of employee compensation. It is this interaction between debt and asset inflation which
turns a reasonably bullish stock market into a speculative bubble.
Such a bubble is, however, unsustainable. It will burst when the rosy expectations about future profits
underlying those sky high stock market valuations turn out to have been unrealistic. As market
sentiments shift and disappointed investors try to cash in their capital gains, selling waves ensue to
push stock prices rapidly lower. Pressured by high levels of indebtedness in the face of declining asset
values and mounting capital losses, investors rush to liquidate their

Strategic Planning Requires Hard Work And Dedication
Strategic planning requires hard work and dedication. Nothing can be effectively executed without a
plan of action in place.
Blankstein (2004) states that:
Addressing the core beliefs of an entire school community is a lengthy process. It is essential to be
sure to hold the line on behaviors and language that may conflict with organizational values and
mission. Without at least commitment to behavior that supports the school values and mission, the
fundamental aspect of any school values and mission that all students will learn will become invalid
(p. 115).
The Henderson County Public Schools in North Carolina strategic plan is a thirty seven page
instrument addressing five major goals with subset goal descriptors under each. Henderson County
School goals are: (1) Focus on every child; (2) Prepare students to be globally competitive in the 21st
century; (3) Provide an effective teaching and learning environment; (4) Focus on building positive
community relationships; and (5) Maintain safe, quality energy efficient facilities.
The Henderson County Schools strategic plan vision statement says, Every student will achieve
success and graduate as a life long learners, globally competitive, prepared for college, college, and

Terror Management Theory Essay example
Terror management theory (TMT) asserts that human beings have natural tendency for self
preservation if there is threat to one s well being (Greenberg, Solomon, Pyszczynski, 1997). It notes
that we are the cultural animals that pose self awareness on the concept of past and future, as well as
the understanding that one day we will die. We concern about our life and death but aware that it is
unexpected by everything. The worse matter is that we become aware of our vulnerability and
helplessness when facing death related thoughts and ultimate demise (Pyszczynski Greenberg, 1992).
The inevitable death awareness or mortality salience provides a ground for experiencing the existential
terror, which is the overwhelming concern of people s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We react to the death concerns through the acquisition and maintenance of self esteem. Empirical
evidences have established the association between self esteem and cultural worldview. It showed that
individuals with strong culture worldviews have higher self esteem (Solomon, Greenberg,
Pyszczynski, 1991). On the other hand, the research suggested that self esteem is able to serve a death
denying function. If someone is being asked to think about their own death, it would increase their
need for the protection affords by the cultural worldview and the self worth derived from it (Harmon
Jones, Greenberg, Pyszczynski, Solomon, McGregor, 1997). Based on this presumption, TMT derives
a hypothesis anxiety buffer hypothesis, suggesting that self esteem serves as an anxiety buffer against
the mortality salience (Pyszczynski et al., 1999). Anxiety buffer hypothesis posits that self esteem is
an emotional buffer to defend against anxiety (Solomon et al., 1991). There are several significant
evidences to support the claim that self esteem serves as an anxiety buffer function. First of all, there
are large literature review indicated that self esteem is negatively correlated with various measures of
anxiety and the physical and psychological consequences of anxiety. Leary and Downs (1995)

RECRUITING AND RETAINING EMPLOYEES IN A SEASONAL ENVIRONMENT November 1,

Some companies face a large increase in business for the holiday season, summer vacation, or for a
major event throughout the year. These predictable trends allow many businesses to hire additional
employees to help with the demand. The organizations are then forced to lay several employees off

Timing and the duration of the exchange also need to be similar to other companies that participate in
the program. Employees need to be willing to work the entire duration of the assignment. Interviews
between the employees and the participating companies need to take place along with a tour and
preview of the facilities. Contractual agreements are drafted and signed by all parties involved. The
agreements prevent companies from hiring employees on a full time basis and are designed to prevent
litigation caused by the Employee Exchange Program. After the exchange, employee evaluations are
conducted at the partnering companies. Finally, interviews take place with employees to assess where
improvements can be made in the Employee Exchange Program. The evaluations and interviews
provide an open form of communication between the managers of each company. It gives a good
understanding of how employees and the effectiveness of the program are working (Employee
Exchange, 2011, p. 3 5). J 1 Visa Program Many seasonal companies use foreign employees to fill

Cystic Fibrosis Introduction
Introduction
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited chronic disease that must be carried by both parents in order to for
the person to suffer from it. If one of your parents has it, then you will definitely be a carrier of the
disease and it will be carried to your offspring. Children who inherit a faulty CFTR gene from each
parent will have CF.
This disease affects organs such as the liver, lungs, pancreas, and intestines.
This disease disrupts the body s salt balance leaving too little salt and water on the outside of cells
which makes the thin mucus that protects the linings of the airways, digestive system, reproductive
system, and other organs and tissues free of germs become thick and sticky thus clogging the airways
and damaging the lungs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When someone has Cystic fibrosis this gene is broken and doesn t function normally.
Treatment:
Cystic fibrosis can not be cured, it is chronic, but treatments could be helpful to ease the symptoms.
There are techniques to help you get rid of the thick mucus, for example, the airway clearance
technique, there is a common method called postural drainage and percussion. Which where you will
sit or lie in different positions to let the thick mucus flow from your small airways in your lungs to the
large ones, then someone or you could tap your chest to ease the mucus more so you could cough and
get rid of it.
Inhaled drugs like dornase alfa (Pulmozyme), albuterol, salt solution, steroids, or antibiotics thin
mucus, clear the lungs and fight infections. Medicines such as ibuprofen fight inflammation and
reduce swelling in your lungs. (webmd)
Taking enzyme pills will help in digesting fats and proteins and absorb more vitamins from your food.
Also taking vitamins A, D, and E can help in replacing nutrients that your intestines can t absorb.
There is also oxygen therapy which helps if you have severe lung disease and need to breathe oxygen

  • 2. The Negative Impacts Of The Reformation The Reformation was perhaps the greatest religious movement in Christ since the early church. It revived the Biblical and New Testament thoeological studies. b) a negative effect of the reformation could be the disunity of the church. When the church was all one, we at least had some since of fellowship. But now, all of the churches have their own little groups and we condemn other churches for not being the same as your denomination. We should all come together as a body of Christ and unify instead of break apart. c) Although Christians can believe indifferent doctrines, the way we serve God doesn t necessarily matter if you believe he died for your sins. If we can come together and can be unified in our faith, then I believe Christ will expand to different people. Also, if you have faith, then you should have unity, and vise versa. d) There is a time for division in the body of Christ. When a church group is denying scripture and, after being confronted, still continues their same practice, then it is time to break fellowship with that group. This has happened with the Metropolitan Community Church denomination which openly advocates the support of homosexuality. Also, there is an Evangelical Lutheran church that is thinking about accepting homosexual relationships into church. At this point it is ok to draw the line and say enough is enough. e) Tolerance has to do with permitting and allowing, and putting up with, while love is active and has to do with concern for ... In what respect is the title ironical? What kind of irony is this? Why does The Guest make a better title than The Prisoner ? In the short story The Guest by Albert Camus, irony is show in many aspects throughout the story. In the main title, the irony of it is that the word guest is not necessarily used to really describe a guest, because the guest is the prisoner of the French government. The arab prisoner, had been convicted of supposingly killing his cousin while they were in the village, the police want to get the arab prisoner to France for a trial regarding his conviction. The short story ``The Guest is much more appropriate rather than titling the story The Prisoner because, the story isn t based on the Prisoner and his choices and decisions, but more towards Daru and the duties he had to fufill as he was the host. 5. This story has as its background a specific political situation the French Algerian crisis in the years following World War II. How does Daru reflect France s plight? Is the story s meaning limited to this situation? What does the story tell us about good and evil and the nature of moral choice? In the short story The Guest by Albert Camus, Daru s predicament goes hand in hand with France s difficulties and Camus self appreciation. • 4. Proving the Kawasaki Theorem Introduction: Research We chose this project; because we all love making origami and now we will know everything in it. Origami means the art of paper folding. It s connected to the mathematics called geometry. When we fold origami we also create lots of surfaces. For instance, by folding a square piece of paper in half diagonally or from one tip to the opposite tip, we create two surfaces in the shape of triangles. Mathematicians related origami to a theorem called the Kawasaki theorem. The Kawasaki theorem states that if we add up the angle measurements of every angle around a point, the sum will be 180. It is a theorem giving a decision for an origami construction to be flat. Kawasaki theorem also states that a given crease pattern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. Black Holes Research Paper Throughout the lifespan of galaxies and universes, interstellar objects are created and destroyed including stars, asteroids, nebulas, and black holes. One of the rarest interstellar creations are black holes, of which are only found in three forms. These three forms include stellar, supermassive, and intermediate black holes. Black holes are mysteries that were not fully understood until the beginning of the 20th century, when multiple scientist focused their research on them. They predicted theories and made many discoveries. These scientists include Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, John Wheeler, and Stephen Hawking. These scientists have helped us to quickly advance our knowledge on the universe and surrounding galaxies. A black hole is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are scattered throughout the galaxies. A stellar black hole is the product of the death of a giant star such as a pulsar or a neutron star. Black holes in general are very rare because most stars are not massive enough to create them. When a star stops producing fusion energy, the equilibrium of the star no longer exists. Without the star producing any fuel, there is no pressure created that can hold the star in place. The pressure that a star creates is used to prevent the gravity from crushing the core. Now that there is no pressure pushing outward, the gravity becomes so violent that it crushes matter to the point that it is completely destroyed. At this point, black holes are born. Black holes are created in rare occasions. During the death of most stars, they slowly dim out or explode into trillions of microscopic particles. For example, the sun, which is a red dwarf, will slowly die out. Eta Carinae on the other hand, located 8,000 light years away from Earth, is likely to explode within the next several hundred thousand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Le Carnaval Des Animaux-Ciklus Virtuoso The online concert that I listened to was called Le Carnaval des Animaux Ciklus Virtuoso, which lasted about twenty seven minutes. Le Carnaval des Animaux composed of a chamber orchestra, it was a small group playing. If I listened to this on a CD, I would think this was a symphony orchestra. While watching this concert, I observed many different things. The instruments that I saw were pianos, cello, violin, clarinet, xylophone, flute, and the viola. The piece s dynamics started out pianissimo (very softly) and then began to go from soft to louder over time which is called crescendo and the other instruments started to chime in. The most played instrument in the concert was the piano. When the pianos were playing, they sometimes took low runs of octaves. The piano played a cackling tune as the violin started to play louder. The first movement concluded with all the instruments using a fortissimo (very loud) note. In the middle of the concert, the pianos played a higher, softer, version of the melody while the violins were playing at the same beat. More towards the end, the piano was played gentle, while a solo cello played a slow smooth melody. The pitch of the violin sound went from high pitch to low pitch. My observation throughout listening to this concert were, it sounded to me like the violins and cellos were attempting to make squeaky noises to imitate a certain type of animal. The same scale was played over and over again. The flute was played very softly, while the cello was played louder. Towards the middle of the concert, the melody is played by the flute. The xylophone was played in rondo form, which was played in more than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 8. The Disappearance Of Bumblebees Bumblebees have been rapidly disappearing there are many different theories of what is causing the population to decrease. One possible reason for the decline in the population of bumblebees is due to cell phone radiation. Electromagnetic exposure causes a change in the bee s behavior. The radiation interferes with their navigation systems causing impairment they get confused and are not able to make it back to their hive. Bumblebees and other insects use crypotochrome for navigation. Crypotochromes are photoreceptors that regulate entrainment by light by the circadian clock. • 11. The Holocaust s Night By Elie Wiesel It caused a lack of trust. It separated friends. It brought families closer. The Holocaust forced family members to hold on to each other and trust each other. In 1933, the Jewish population of Europe stood at over nine million [...] By 1945, the Germans and their collaborators killed nearly two out of every three European Jews as part of the Final Solution, the Nazi policy to murder the Jews of Europe (Introduction to the Holocaust). Night is a memoir written by Elie Wiesel, a Holocaust survivor. Elie Wiesel s Night describes that father and son relationships, and loyalty changes through acts of inhumanity. Elie Wiesel did not feel very connected to his father in the beginning of the memoir. In 1941, at the age of thirteen, Elie Wiesel was immensely religious and studied Talmud every day. He asked his father if he could find someone who would mentor him in his studies of Kabbalah. Elie s father responded to him by saying, You are too young for that. Maimonides tells us that one must be thirty before venturing into the world of mysticism, a world fraught with peril. First you must study the basic subjects, those you are able to comprehend (Wiesel 4). Elie wanted to be a Kabbalist, but his father did not even want him to study Kabbalah. Elie s father thought, according to Maimonides, that he was too young to learn about Kabbalah and disapproved of his choice to study Talmud. • 12. Competitive Bass Fishing How did Bass fishing become a sport? Fishing has always been a way to collect food, but did you know how it became a competitive sport? It all started with a game of basketball. I am sure you are thinking to yourself; a game of basketball is how fishing tournaments came about? It all started with a man by the name of Ray Scott in 1968. While watching a basketball game he thought of the idea of competitive Bass fishing. He than began to brainstorm ideas and write down the rules of fishing tournaments. Later that year, he held the first All American Bass Tournament. After that tournament, competitive Bass fishing took off like a 10 pound Bass taking away your fishing pole. Fishing Tournaments There are many different types of tournaments that one can fish in. • 13. Analysis Of Dead Poets Society A) Overview The 1989 movie, Dead Poets Society, features a group of boys attending a private boarding school, the Welton Academy. The central conflict of the movie stems from the clash between educational approaches. The movie uses the educational conflict as an engine to propel the plot and to explore and develop the characters. The Welton Academy s education style is most definitely traditional. The school s educational approach is revealed by Headmaster Nolan three minutes into the movie as he states the Four Pillars of Welton Tradition. Honor. Discipline. Excellence. The word Tradition is literally engraved in the schools pillars. This is similar to Hirsch s theory of Cultural Literacy a conservative theory of education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Keating about 12 minutes into the movie he whispers in the boys ears the words carpe diem which in Latin means seize the day. Mr. Keating embodies a teaching pedagogy of equality between teacher and student in the classroom, teaching students to think independently and critically, and challenge conventional thought. The boys seize the day by creating a club called The Dead Poets Society. Mr. Keating s progressive pedagogy thus inspires a radical club. This is the first step in the boys move from conservatism to progressivism and ultimately to a radical crisis. The club s radicalness peaks when a member, Charlie Dalton demands that girls be allowed to attend Welton Academy. He causes a full campus meeting where he mocks Headmaster Nolan by holding a telephone out and instructing him that God has been calling and that he should answer. As one could expect, the conservative headmaster does not respond well. Headmaster Nolan interviews each student individually until one student, Richard Cameron, turns in the rest of the club to save himself from expulsion. This demonstrates how a new approach can threaten more established norms, followed by a retaliatory backlash. The final major scene of the movie occurs after one of the boys, Neil Perry, defies his father by acting as Puck in A Midsummer s Night Dream. Effects Of White People On Race A Conversation With White People on Race In a world where words and color have so much meaning and power, I ve grown confused by the word race and the bizarre pigments it assigns. We re called the human race, yet while we run together in the single race of life, we have split into teams: white, yellow, brown, black. My bewilderment fails to end there. Though his cheeks are ruddy and spotted with moles, my father is called white, and my mother, though pale as porcelain, is a yellow woman. As for me, I belong nowhere, hopping between my mother and father s people, unwanted by either. The use of this literary device is prevalent throughout early and middle British literature and even through modern day examples. I believe the use of this literary device in British literature is due to the fact that religion and the aristocracy were integral parts of the society from the very beginning. Both of these institutions were constraining and controlling. The use of hyperbole allowed writers to be able to express their thoughts and opinions without fear of harsh treatment or negative repercussions. In addition, it was possible for the writers to provide vivid and visceral descriptions of characters and locations. Hyperbole and hyperbolic language are both significant characteristics of British literature that transcend history. The first piece of literature I will be examining is The Wanderer. The Wanderer is a piece of early English literature that describes the characters experiences with exile and the loss of his material wealth. In this early English poem, the author uses hyperbolic language to describe the internal feelings of The Wanderer, in addition to, the physical and temporal experience of the exile itself. In doing so, the author brings attention to the existential crisis the main character has in losing his gold friend and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. The Tolkien The Hobbit The Hobbit The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien is novel about a hobbit who comes to the realization that there was more to him than what meets the eye. In the Middle Earth, around the third age, Bilbo Baggins embarks on the adventure of a lifetime. Throughout the obstacles and hardships of the adventure, Bilbo Baggins transforms from a man of doubts and comfort to a hero with a newfound confidence and leadership. The Hobbit, a book of fantasy and adventure, is likely to appeal to readers of any age. The author who tells an entertaining story, offers all readers a chance to journey on an adventure with a magical wizard, a hobbit and dwarves. In the beginning of the novel the author s tone transitions from humorous to ominous and suspenseful. Humorously, the author talks about Bilbo s attitude towards Gandalf s offer of an adventure stating, We don t want any adventures here, thank you! You might want to try over the Hill or across the water. By this he meant the conversation was at end (6). As the book progresses, the author s tone darkens, and the suspense of the novel rises. One example of suspense in the novel is Bilbo s encounter with Gollum. Does it guess easy? It must have a competition with us, my preciouss! If precious asks, and it doesn t answer, we eats it, my preciousss. If it asks us and we don t answer, then we does what it wants, eh? We shows it the way out, yes! (70). • 17. The Legal System Of The Law The law is worldwide; it affects almost every aspect of our everyday lives and also has an impact on every individual. There are many types of laws such as laws that deal with crimes and laws that govern activities within the community; there are also specific laws in certain portions of the legal system. Laws are made in order to give us rules of conduct that protect everyone s individual rights (Canada Department of Justice). How law is dealt with is seen to vary throughout different countries for the reason that each country contains different laws that are based to fit their culture and customs. However, when law is dealt with, regardless of the area it is enforced in; if the crime of the accused is serious enough it will go through a trial system which is also seen to vary depending on the country. A trial system is the process of examining a case in the court of law and deciding if an individual is innocent or guilty of what they are being accused for (Macmillan dictionary). Trial systems are an important part of the legal system for the reason that everyone is entitled to the right of a fair trial procedure which allows the individual that is being accused to be determined innocent or guilty through the rule of law so that if the individual is in fact innocent then there will be no consequences and all will be forgotten and if guilty they will be dealt with properly. Trials are held accordingly depending on the trial system that is being used in that particular court ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. The Character Analysis Of Iago Of Othello At first glance, Iago of Othello can appear to have little motivation for his destructive tendencies; however, when viewed through the lens of antisocial personality disorder, his incentive takes on a twisted internal logic. His all consuming desire for revenge is not necessarily because of any outside influence by Othello himself, but rather the fact that Othello disrupts Iago s conception of himself and is a pawn whom he can manipulate for pleasure. His arrogance and entitlement are also classic symptoms of antisocial personality disorder, as is his superficial charm, which allows him to enlist the assistance of Roderigo in his plot to destroy Othello s marriage. For example, act 1 scene 1 depicts him and Roderigo discussing Othello s impending marriage. During this scene, Roderigo mentions that Iago hast had [his] purse/ As if the strings were thine (1.1.2 3). A common symptom of antisocial personality disorder is the inability to handle money responsibly, whether because of an unreliable source of income or reckless spending (Personality and Personality Disorders, 88). In either case, from the first scene of the play it is clear that he is leeching off of Roderigo for personal gain. His disorder appears to manifest itself differently depending on the person with whom he is interacting, as shown when he speaks to Emelia and his charming, relatively eloquent exterior melts away into an aggressive, rude figure. This behavioral pattern indicates that Iago is a fundamentally antisocial person, not reacting to a specific negative situation. Iago reveals a good deal about the inner workings of his mind when he states that But for [his] sport and profit. [He] hate[s] the Moor (1.3.386). He relates this to the alleged adultery between his wife and Othello, but when viewed through the lens of antisocial personality disorder, it becomes literally true. According to the DSM, such individuals are frequently motivated by pleasure seeking. The reasons which Iago gives for his hatred of Othello do not stand up to scrutiny when his hostile ... Very early I became conscious of the fact that there were people around me who suffered in one way or another (Roosevelt 12). • 23. Eukaryotic Theory Introns are nucleotide sequences universal amongst the Eukarya domain. Reconstructive models of maximum parsimony and likelihood suggest introns were present in the last eukaryotic common ancestor (LECA) (Csuros, 2005) and have since been gained, lost, and adapted to a multitude of functions by separate lineages; any degree of intron conservation in modern eukaryotes is suggestive of function, despite appearing to exist solely for removal. Although they possess many valuable roles this does not explain the ubiquity of introns within eukaryotic genomes. To understand their widespread presence despite their apparent deleterious effects it is necessary to discern the evolutionary origins and conditions which impelled their prevalence. Structural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Per this theory, GpII invaded the eukaryotic lineage in its genesis via the mitochondrial endosymbiosis and have been inserting themselves into coding genes continuously since; a mechanism consistent with the high levels of GpII in some α proteobacteria (Robart Zimmerly, 2005) and the ability of yeast mitochondrial GpII to insert themselves into double stranded genomic DNA (Zimmerly et al., 1996). Symbiosis related selection pressure upon the α proteobacteria coupled with its bacterial nature of jettisoning unwanted genes caused the exchange of GpII and cognate maturases (Schmitz Linneweber et al., 2015) between the proto mitochondrion and the host cell which lacked the necessary control mechanisms to restrict their spread. Hence, the proportion of introns in the LECA genome is considerably greater than in contemporary eukaryotic lineages, excluding some vertebrates (Figure.1). Comparison of nuclear encoded cytoplasmic ribosomal proteins and mitochondrial ribosomal proteins showed that intron positions were conserved (Yoshihama et al., 2006), suggestive of common descent between all eukaryotes. However, the presence of introns presents significant problems to the host. Principally, random and aggressive insertion of foreign gene elements is likely to disrupt essential coding sequences within the host genome; hence, only neutral intron insertions could persist. Additionally, splicing reactions require the energetically expensive and complex machinery of the spliceosome, comprised of over 150 proteins and 5 snRNA units (Wahl et al., 2009), any fault in which would cause broad harm to the cell (Chorev Carmel, ... Also, since he was captured by the colonists, he obviously wants to say something that pleases them since they are his audience. We concern about our life and death but aware that it is unexpected by everything. It showed that individuals with strong culture worldviews have higher self esteem (Solomon, Greenberg, Pyszczynski, 1991). On the other hand, the research suggested that self esteem is able to serve a death denying function. If someone is being asked to think about their own death, it would increase their need for the protection affords by the cultural worldview and the self worth derived from it (Harmon Jones, Greenberg, Pyszczynski, Solomon, McGregor, 1997). Based on this presumption, TMT derives a hypothesis anxiety buffer hypothesis, suggesting that self esteem serves as an anxiety buffer against the mortality salience (Pyszczynski et al., 1999).
