Indigo Airways Success Story
yINDIGO AIRLINE
How India s youngest airline became the largest
.
Reticent and low profile are not the usual personality traits of a CEO in a high profile business like
aviation. Image: Aditya Ghosh
But Aditya Ghosh, 37, has defied convention in many ways. His regular office wear is T shirt with
jeans, he doesn t have a B school degree and before joining IndiGo, he was a lawyer at J Sagar.
Ghosh has justified his aversion for the spotlight by saying that people don t fly IndiGo because they
know the president of the company.
So his reaction to the six year old IndiGo taking a giant leap to become India s largest airline in July
was just an one liner: The airline, he said, never chased market share, but being the largest in ... Show

Before every departure, an automatic message is triggered from the aircraft to control centre and the
departure time recorded immediately. Also, the moment the flight lands, an automatic message is
triggered from the aircraft to the control centre.
There are some dissent notes as well. While vouching for its operational efficiency and attention for
details, industry analysts take the airline s claim of profitability with a pinch of salt. I doubt if the
company was able to maintain profit at operational level last year, said an analyst.
The company, which claims to be profitable since 2009 10, is not publicly listed and does not
announce its detailed financial figures. However, numbers filed with the Registrar of Companies show
that the result for 2011 12 is still awaited.
However, in an interview in March, Ghosh claimed that the company would remain in the black albeit
with a smaller profit. In the previous financial year, the airline reported 18 per cent rise in its net profit
to Rs 650.32 crore.
The country s youngest airline has become its largest. Low cost carrier IndiGo, which began
operations this month in 2006, has overtaken Jet Airways in terms of passengers flown.
According to the latest figures released by the DGCA, IndiGo, with 27 per cent market share in July
this year, has edged past Jet, which managed 26.6 per cent share.

Courtroom Work Group Roles
The courtroom is a vital part of the criminal justice system, and a major role in the judicial branch of
our government. In the courtroom there are specified roles given to certain people that allow them to
to actively engage in the system and get it to work efficiently and properly so that justice is served.
The major roles of the courtroom work group are: Police officer, prosecutor, defense attorney, judge,
defendant, victim, bailiff, court reporter, and the jury. In this essay I will describe in depth the
responsibilities of each of these important courtroom characters. The police officer is the first person
to deal with any case. They are usually the one who arrest the suspects or investigating each crime.
They work directly with the

The American Educational System and Its Slippery Slope Essay
There is one thing that is universally sought after in this world, regardless of race, ethnicity, age,
location, and upbringing. There is one thing that every single human being hungrily craves. There is
one thing that can make the potential difference between a life of abject poverty or comfortable
prosperity: knowledge. The human mind s thirst for knowledge can never be fully quenched, and it is
always left wanting more; although, this isn t necessarily a detrimental thing. Many different and
unique styles of education have emerged as an attempt to satisfy the universal desire of knowledge,
but it is often debated which style of education is the most effective. There is a very wide range of
teaching styles on the spectrum of education, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since both the United States and Japan have very contrasting styles of education, many different
outcomes arise from each of these styles. For instance, since the educational system of Japan is so
strict and structured, students are gradually chiseled into very responsible and disciplined individuals
who are very skilled when it comes to things such as standardized tests; however, much is unseen
about this transformational process to the American eye. In Kyoko Mori s essay School, her firsthand
experience of the Japanese educational system is shared. She states that You can never question the
authority of the teacher, whom you address simply as sensei, literally, one whose life comes first ...
The teacher is like the biblical God, whom you cannot name (Mori 136). When authority cannot be
questioned and is to be treated like God, how are students expected to comprehend every detail taught
by their instructor? If the students can t quite grasp an idea, how are they supposed to completely
master it without the aid of their so called godly instructors? The Japanese answer to this solution is
simple: Memorization and repeated practice (Mori 132). In Japan, students are drilled into the ground
by constant memorization and repeated practice, and without the aid of their teachers, they have to
claw their way up a mountain to acquire every single answer.

country that aim to be competitive and developed within knowledge based world economy. According
to Green Paper on Entrepreneurship in Europe (2003) it defines entrepreneurship as the mindset and
process to create and develop economic activity by blending risk taking, creativity and/ or innovation
with sound management within a new or an existing organization . Definition about entrepreneurial
ecosystem is a system of entrepreneurship that is formed by the interaction of a community of
organisms within the environment. Refer to the book Fundamental of Entrepreneurship innovation can
be defined as the process by which entrepreneurs convent opportunities(ideas) into marketable
solutions. Innovation is commonly defined as the introduction of something new or a new way to

How Did Prophet Muhammad Contribute To The Rise Of Islam
The Islamic World
The rise of the Islamic World mainly began with the birth of Prophet Muhammad and greatly
continued to expand after his death. Prophet Muhammad and his followers moved along with the idea
to spread the believe of Islam and to gain many benefits of trade along the way. Prophet Muhammad
started off with only a few followers, but in the years to come many more joined creating a massive
army.
In late 6th century and early 7th century the Arabian Peninsula was divided into not only different
clans, but it was also divided into different religions. The two main religions in which Arabia found
itself divided were Christianity and Judaism. Some of Islam s teachings come from earlier Jewish and
Christian teachings. Although Islam began in the Arabian Peninsula the cultures and traditions are said
the come from more populated regions, Egypt to Iran. (Berkey 39) Arabia before Islam is referred to

Prophet Muhammad was orphaned and raised by an uncle from his father s side, who happened to be

Prophet Muhammad received his first revelation by the age of forty. His revelation was delivered
through the angel Jibil (Gabriel.) These revelations would later be put into the book known and the

Muslims are the followers of the religion of Islam.
The first dated occurance of the word Muslim in an extant Arabic inscripstion is not before 741;
previous texts had used the term believer. It has recently been suggested that the earliest incarnation of
Islam was a community of believers (mu minun) that shared a faith in fundamental axioms, such as
one god, revealed scripture, and an afterlife, but was otherwise conceptualized independent of
confessional identities. (Donner

Abstract
Bluetooth is a wireless technology used for short range UHF radio wave transmission. It was invented
by Telecom giant Ericsson way back in 1994. It officially got its name Bluetooth in 1998 when
Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) comprising of Intel, Toshiba, Ericsson, IBM, and Nokia was
formed. Bluetooth SIG has more than 24,000 members at present. Almost every mobile device and
most of the computers are equipped with Bluetooth today. It signifies the success Bluetooth has
received over the years. It was basically invented to serve as wireless replacement of RS232. Since
then it was been incorporated for a myriad of applications like data transmission, voice transmission,
wirelessly connecting devices, and numerous others applications. One of the aspect because of which
Bluetooth technology stands out in the market is its ability to handle data and voice transmission at the
same time. The focus of this paper is its data transmission application, how it works, its limitations,
and scope for technological advancements to negate its limitations.
1. Introduction
The key features of Bluetooth technology are ubiquitousness, low power, and low cost. is the way
Bluetooth group defines themselves in the market [1]. Bluetooth works on a technology named
Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum. Here the entire data is divided into

Comparing Two Waves Research Paper
The term waves can have an infinite amount of meanings. It can refer to a girl s hair, the beach and
most importantly a physics theme. In a physics classroom, a wave is a disturbance that carries energy
from one point to another. The types of waves are endless from electromagnetic, sound, magnetic,
longitudinal and transverse just to name a few. The later two are key in class as they are the most
common types of waves and not only are they used to teach a concept but are also used in our
everyday lives. A key difference between a longitudinal and a transverse wave is the way they
transport energy. While a transverse wave does not require a medium to pass on energy a longitudinal
on the other hand must have a medium for it to pass down energy.
Each of these waves have a group of properties and display a certain behavior that makes them
distinguishable. For example in a longitudinal wave the particles move left and right making other
particles oscillate. Meanwhile in a transverse wave the particles move up and down. A set of
vocabulary words are attached to each wave and also helps distinguish them in a physics problem and
when presented with an image. In a longitudinal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On North And South Industrialization
The North and the South had many differences, the most important dissimilarity was their level of
industrialization. The North prioritized industry and railroads, while the South remained mostly
agricultural. Northern production, transportation networks, and economy drastically out performed the
South during the civil war, leading to a Northern victory.
Firstly, Massive industrialization in the North meant factories were being built across all states, this
explosion of expansion really set the base for how far ahead the North would get from the
confederacy. By 1860, 90 percent of the nation s manufacturing output came from northern states (B.
Arrington, nps). The Union would also get all of their firearms and clothing necessary for their war
effort from these factories. In the South, things were very much the opposite. Slave trade was at an all
time high, the amount of farms and plantations growing cash crops were also at a high point. There
was too much money to be made when it came to cash crops and labor from buying slaves for cheap.
This meant all of their focus would be on growing as much crops as possible. Leading to ... Show

In the north, aid was given to railroad companies such as free land grants, and the government buying
railroad corporation stocks. This started to connect major manufacturing cities with major coastal
trade ports. Leading to produced goods being transported and traded at a much faster rate than before.
The military found the amount of railroads during the civil war useful, as it allowed Union soldiers to
travel at great speed through the country. In the Confederacy, travel for troops was much slower than
their counterpart. Only one tenth of Southerners lived in urban areas and transportation between cities
was difficult, except by water . (civilwar.org) This lack of railroads did not help when food, and other
products had to be moved across the

The Life Of The Landscape Essay
The landscape changed quite drastically as we left the lush rainforest behind and entered the semi arid
region in the South of Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada. Green fir trees made way for golden
rolling hills and scrubby terrain. Adding a splash of colour to the otherwise dry looking terrain were
the green vineyards perched against the gentle sloping hills. This might come as a surprise, but
Canada s only desert is home to a growing wine community with many award winning wines being
produced here. Welcome to Osoyoos.
As we approached the town, a large lake came into view. Osoyoos Lake is the warmest freshwater
lake in Canada and is surrounded by pristine vineyards along its perimeter. 37 wineries are now a
member of The Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association, a non profit organization with a goal to develop
the wine industry in Oliver and Osoyoos through education and promotion. While driving through the
region, we decided to visit a few well known and lesser known wineries and learn about their history.
Stoneboat Vineyards
We passed many picturesque wineries as we drove through the valley, each offering wine tasting to
anyone who is keen to sample their BC wine. We stopped at Stoneboat Vineyards, a family owned
winery only 20 minutes from downtown Osoyoos. The lovely Julie Martiniuk greeted us, who
together with her husband Lanny, purchased a 15 acre orchard in 1979 and planted their first vines in
1983. 40 Years later, they now have over 48 acres and are producing award

Linked Genetics
Genes located on the same chromosome are linked. They can become unlinked, or separated, in
crossing over with the frequency of separation being higher the further apart the genes are on the
chromosome. The relationship between the frequency of genes separation due to crossing over and the
distance between genes is inversely proportional. That is the further the genes are away from each
other the more likely they will cross over. The frequency of crossing over, also known as the
recombinant frequency, is directly related to the distance between genes, because the farther apart two
genes are, the more likely a crossover is to form somewhere between them. Geneticists can utilize this
to map chromosomes by doing test crosses for linked genes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Benefits Of A Family History
There are a number of pros and cons that come with therapists taking a detailed family history. An
advantage in taking a full family history is that it allows therapists to help their clients learn from their
family history by developing a healthy perspective on their past. Instructing the clients to reflect on
their past can help them come to terms and provide a sense of comfort in facing their past. Another
reason is that it helps the therapist gain a fuller understanding of the family. Getting full details of
family history is important to understand the past events that have occurred. Here the therapist may
have plans for the family s treatment for therapy and therapeutic goals each member can obtain.
Asking the right questions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many benefits of making it mandatory for the entire family to attend the initial session. In
the initial session, the therapist goes over the confidentiality of the therapy, goals of treatment, share
what the family will expect, and listens to each member s viewpoint of their problems and the reason
why they are seeking treatment. The initial session can show the therapist how the family
communicates and gets to observe the dynamic of the family. Also in the initial session, the therapist
will establish a therapeutic alliance with the clients. The therapist is here for each member of the
family and will remain objective. Clients are not just in therapy to talk about their problems, they are
here to become stronger as individuals and as a family as a whole.
A limitation of making it mandatory for the entire family to attend the initial session is that it may be
hard to control. When the whole family is together, it may lead to lots of shouting which can cause the
session to take a negative turn. The members can get out of control and ultimately the session will be
counterproductive to the treatment process. It is important that members speak at one time and give
each member a chance to express their feelings. Another limitation is that some members may prefer
to speak individually rather than in a larger group. When required to participate in a group therapy,
they may feel uncomfortable and be unwilling to engage.

Compare And Contrast The Two Major Carriers Of T And AT T
The two major carriers in my area are T Mobile and AT T. Since I live 30 minutes from a major
metropolitan area and there are swampy areas between me and the metropolitan, I generally do not
benefit from the latest cellular technology. Most of the towers in the area are owned or operated by AT
T or T Mobile. Since T Mobile and AT T use the GSM standard, they can share the same towers and
support each other s customers. AT T and T Mobile have a strong 2G presence in the area. AT T

Intellectual Progress Of Mankind By Martin Luther King Jr.
Intellectual Progress of Mankind
Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable...every step toward the goal of justice requires
sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals
Martin Luther King, Jr. Intellectual progress of mankind is the progression towards discovering the
questions about curiosity on why something is what it is or what makes something work the way that
it does. The discovery of which we make on defining, proving, and supporting scientific and
theoretical issues is a reflection of how far we have come on particular issues of study. this can be
defined as changes that take place as a result of growth in the thinking of mankind resulting from one
s capability to think, experience, reasoning judgement and ability to conceptualize. This helps
humankind to progress in different aspects of life and make advancements on daily basis in relation to
his life. Three main subject leads toward Intellectual Progress of mankind, philosophies, ideologies,
and theories which this paper examines as related themes that often intersect in educational ideas
(Gutek, 2004). Philosophy falls somewhere between the arts and sciences. On the one hand, it offers
idiosyncratic worldviews that may be too disparate to compare. It is not surprising, then, that the
question Is philosophy progressive? is hardly ever raised. From one viewpoint, it offers quirky
perspectives that might be excessively unique, making

Allen Stanford s Ponzi Scheme
Allen Stanford s Ponzi scheme is considered to be one of the top grossing Ponzi schemes that have
been at the forefront of white collar crime. As stated on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
website, a Ponzi scheme is an investment fraud that involves the payment of purported returns to
earlier investors by the contribution of new investors that promises to generate high returns with little
or no risk (Sec.gov). These schemes take advantage of people who put their faith in the offender out of
trust or any other personal reason and in the case of Allen Stanford it is no different. Allen Stanford
used his status that he had built throughout his life to take advantage of many people through the use
of Certificates of Deposit. His alpha male persona had built an empire by defrauding individuals out of
what has been reported up to $6 billion and some sources have estimated up to $8 billion. This paper
will discuss how Mr. Stanford went from king to prison in a 20 year span. Allen Stanford was born in
Mexia, Texas to a lower middle class family. Stanford s parents eventually divorced and he moved to
Fort Worth, Texas. Tim Elfrink of the Broward/Palm Beach New Times stated that people who knew
Allen Stanford at a young age said that he was always out to make a quick buck and he was well
known for this. Some of his first ventures into making money were selling firewood (Elfrink, 2009).

issues can emerge in the deficient design concepts and the daily operations of the pharmaceutical
industry determine safety and efficacy of drug products by analysis of 8 case studies. In this paper, the
following system deficiencies are mentioned: production system, packaging and labeling system,

importance of supplier audit, rational design of validation method and facilities design.

The good quality of the vendor s product can also help the customer to guarantee their finished

Secondly, the rational design of validation method is very important. In the case study 1 Aseptic
Processing of a Sterile Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) , the process simulation (i.e., media
fill) program was not adequately representative of the actual manufacturing process. The process
simulation validation program is used to detect and diagnose an existing source of contamination.
However, some companies do not realize this usage, and the process simulation validation program
designed does not reflect the actual situation of production. Not just only for the simulation validation,
other validations, like analysis methodology validation, equipment performance qualification, also
exist this kind of problem, that is, the method used to validate/qualify does not have a sufficient
sensibility and representativeness. Many engineers do not know how to design the validation method;
even they do not like to perform the validation, but FDA mandates to perform validation, so some of
engineers copy with it just for FDA inspection, not for keeping the quality of production. It is clear to
cause the waste of manpower, material and financial resources. Good validation design cannot only

and attention towards the end of the 20th century because of their maltreatment in the hands of their
British colonizers and continued persecution in a land they rightfully own. Their rich culture, which
dates back to the Ice and Stone Age, is near extinction because of the oppression they suffered through
time. In spite of the odds, however, the remaining children of this near extinct but proud race are
fighting valiantly to survive and preserve their proof of existence in a world dominated by educated
and civilized people. This essay analyzes the plight of this minority group in three ... Show more

Comprising of some 500 tribes, their culture are linked by totemism, or affinity to an animal, plant or
cosmical phenomena, with several tribes belonging to one totem but may have varied languages
(Reidlinger, 1996). Hence, social order and relations were based on the specific social rules and laws
of the totem in which they belong. In terms of religion, the Aborigines believed that all forms of life
came from Creation Ancestors , referring to both animal and human kind, and that their spirits linger
and dwell on mountains, rocks, and whoever disrespects the land will be turned to rock. Thus, they
place reverence on the land because any damages made on it endangers the living and the sacred
spirits occupying it. This fact also explains their dependence on what nature can provide rather than
disrupting the natural course of nature. There were about 750,000 aborigines living in harmony until
the arrival of Captain Philip in 1788 in Australia on instructions of King George III, along with some
700 prisoners. Their destination was Botany Bay, the identified site for the new convict colony of
Great Britain as replacement for the American colony site they maintained when America was still
under Britain. While the fleet was ordered by their government to maintain civility and conciliatory
measures with natives, if ever there

Father In Huckleberry Finn
Huckleberry (Huck) Finn, the main character in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, had lacked the
important person that every young boy needs, a father. Huck s biological father was not a prominent
person in his life, he abandoned Huck so he could carelessly drink any alcohol he could get his hands
on. When he finally tried to be in Huck s life he kidnapped him, and only came back around because
the word of Huck now having a great quantity of money meant he would have an endless supply of
liquor. Knowing the scarcity of Huck s father in his life, it is clear that Huck needed an individual to
take him under their wing and teach him lessons about life and the world he lives in. Throughout the
entire novel, Jim s actions indicate that he was looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the main times Jim protected Huck was when Jim didn t allow Huck to see his father dead
when they went on one of their adventures. He ain t a comin back no mo , Huck...dat wuz him [Huck s

down the river, because Jim knew that he was Huck s dad and Huck cared about him regardless of
how he treated him. Jim does not protect Huck directly all the time, some of the times Jim protected
Huck was by helping keep the other people in Huck s life safe. One of the times Jim did this was when
Tom, Huck s friend was shot and the doctor couldn t help Tom all by himself. I got to have help,

devastated if Tom had died and so Jim risked his freedom to save Tom for Huck. Although it was not
always obvious Jim was putting Huck s happiness above his own and doing whatever he could to

The Chrysanthemums Literary Analysis
John Steinbeck s short story, The Chrysanthemums features many themes: themes of gender
suppression, love, passion, and betrayal. This short story revolves around the character Elisa Allen
who has a strong love and a great passion for her flowers, for her beloved chrysanthemums. However,
when a mysterious man arrives towards the end of the text Elisa s love and passion for the
chrysanthemums weakens and she feels betrayed by one of the things she loves most. Steinbeck uses
the unlikely encounter between the Tinker and Elisa, as well as, the encounter between Elisa and her
husband as a way to express the theme of love and betrayal. In the story s introduction Elisa is tending
to the garden that she loves more than anything in the world. She is out working in the garden doing
tasks that almost seem too easy for her because of how passionate she is about her gardening. In
paragraph 6 of the text it states that the chrysanthemum stems seemed too small and easy for her
energy (103). For Elisa the chrysanthemums are a quite easy task for her and she hardly needs any
energy to get much work done with them. Gardening is Elisa s passion and a love of hers so having to
do the most minimal amount of work to her chrysanthemums only enhances those qualities that she
shows towards her flowers because she knows how well she can do her work. Her ease of work in her
garden is again expressed further on in the story when it talks about how her terrier fingers
destroyed... pests before

Name three examples of how Hitchcock s shower sequence in the film Psycho is similar to Eisenstein
s Odessa Steps Sequence in Battleship Potemkin . Explain and cite examples.
The first similarity is between the shower scene in Psycho and Odessa step in Battleship Potemkin is
the use of montage. In the Odessa step scenes, Sergei employs montage when he juxtaposes the
images of the soldiers with those of the peasants as they are walking down the stairs. In the shower
sequence, the usage of montage is depicted with the combination of subsequent shots in a short period
to make the scene appear longer, controlled, subjective, and violent.

The First Opium War
As a result, this devastated Britain. Finally, the British handed over the last of the year s crop of
opium. Lin Zexu had trenches dug to destroy the opium. He had the opium drenched in water, salt, and
lime juice, making it unusable. Britain was enraged after seeing the result of their precious opium.
They demanded that China pay millions in compensation. When the Chinese refused, Britain forced
China into open trade. Furthermore, Great Britain sent a large fleet of ships to attack China. The ships
arrived June of 1840. Britain took over cities and towns one by one. Guang Zhou, Dinghai, Zhejiang,
and Beijing are some of the cities they either took over or destroyed. When the emperor found out
about what was happening, he blamed scholar official Lin Zexu, ... Show more content on

Even so, the Chinese were delaying their part of the treaty. In all actuality, I think that they were trying
to avoid dealing with the treaty at all costs. At this point in time, Great Britain was growing impatient
with all of the delays and excuses being given. In 1856, the British decided to ally with France to
teach China another lesson . Thus, the second opium war began. With all things considered, nothing
relatively important happened during this war. Just a few squabbles here and there. But that is beside
the point. By the end of the war, Britain and France pretty much had China Under its thumb. But how
did the two little countries take over China? They took over Beijing, the imperial capitol. This is
where the convention of Beijing was held. (given the name, kind of obvious, huh?) In all actuality, this
little document just legalized the trade of opium. The document was signed October 24, 1860, thus
ending the second and all future opium wars. After this entire fiasco, China finally opened up to global
trade. The problem with that was outside powers had more influence on China than it had on itself.

The Problem With Vietnam Essays
The Problem With Vietnam
Wartime in the United States has always placed pressure on the government and the citizens of the
country to provide support by whatever means to the situation. During World War II, that support was
propagated by the government in the form of censorship and a strategic public relations plan to
maintain the public opinion in favor of the cause. Glorification of America s involvement in the war
helped America maintain the image of a cause worth fighting for. Technology and de censorship
would later transform America and the world s image of war, which had been formed by such
propaganda as seen during WWII, into the truth about war as seen in the media s coverage of the
Vietnam War. During this period, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the flip side to the censorship, the side that is not often seen, is the fact that this helped to
break down many barriers in the country, including race, gender and even religious. Its effects on the
outcome of the war cannot be measured by traditional means, but indeed it created an atmosphere of
pride and loyalty for one s country. World War II may have been a censored war, but that censorship
may have indeed won that war. According to Philip Knightley s The First Casualty during World War
I, censorship was so tight that even reports of a gift of wine cases to American troops by the French
were not reported for fear of making the American s look unsavory (Alter 38). An after effect of World
War II s propagation can be seen in the tremendous press coverage of the Vietnam War. Feelings of
mistrust and betrayal toward the US government could very well have been why Vietnam had so much
coverage. American citizens wanted the truth, feeling that they had been lied to for so many years. The
truth was what was received thanks to Television (Alter 38). Nicknamed the Living Room War ,
images of death and destruction could be seen first hand. Uncensored images filled the TV screens as
millions of Americans watched their country battle communism in a foreign land. For the first time,
many people could see the truth about war. Their ideas of war being no longer being shaped by the
government,

Nightcrawler Movie Analysis
Tired of watching the same simple plot with loads of action but no real development? Do you crave a
more intriguing character who is not like the typical main protagonist? If so I have a movie that is
worth watching it well leaving you questioning how society runs. The movie that I suggest you watch
is Nightcrawler written and directed by Don Gilroy. In this movie we are introduced to Lou Bloom
(Jake Gyllenhaal) who is a petty thief just trying to make ends meet. His life is changed when he sees
a cameraman filming a burning car. This leads him on a journey to capture the dark and gritty side of
Los Angeles. He soon begins the blur the lines of what is morally right and what shot makes the most
money. What makes this movie worth watching is the pacing, script, and the characters.
The pacing in the movie is quite simple but it really works for this movie. It starts of pretty slow
giving you enough time to get a feel for Lou Bloom. It also allows you to see the setting and the type
of struggle that he is going through. Then as the movie continues they still allow you to slowly see
how he builds the skills to better himself as a cameraman. Once that portion is complete we see the
movie speed up but still moves slow enough to focus on the main events. The speed also ... Show

character of Lou Bloom as said before is not your typical protagonist. He is a very skinny man that
rarely blinks. He takes himself very seriously, never once selling himself short even when he is just
beginning. He is uncaring and unable to understand human morality allowing him to film what others
would run away from. Once he has power he is able to manipulate others and able to create a sort of
leverage to get exactly what he once. Now Lou Bloom would not have been as captivated to the
audience the way he was without his supporting

Dehumanization In 1984 By George Orwell
George Orwell utilizes his novel 1984 to pass on that individuals, as a species, are greatly vulnerable
to dehumanization and abuse in the public arena. Orwell shows how an administration s control of
innovation, dialect, media, and history can persecute and debase its subjects. In 1984 the political
control of innovation persecutes the general population of Oceania and prompts the defeat of
independence and of the qualities that characterize mankind. Telescreens and the Internet are utilized
not for diversion purposes but rather to screen individuals lives.
For Orwell s situation, Pynchon refers to media advancements, for example, intelligent level screen

George Washington The Indispensable Man Analysis
George Washington is a towering historical figure who is considered the father of the United States.
James Thomas Flexner captures the man, not the myth, behind this legendary icon in one concise
single volume biography, Washington: the Indispensable Man. This book is a condensed but altogether
new version of Flexner s previous four volume biography of George Washington. This smaller scale
book is well written, and explores Washington as the human being behind the legendary icon (New
York Times Book Review) to bring the reader to a closer relation to a man removed by time and
history. Of time and history, George Washington had a great deal more of it which Flexner had to
cover. Washington was a major national figure for twenty four years from his election as Commander
in Chief to his death, and he was hardly twenty when his role in the French and Indian War made him
internationally known. The wide ranging subject of Washington must have been difficult to fit into one
encapsulated volume, but Flexner manages not only to do that but also writes straightforward in
thought with flowing ideas and logical conclusions. The first chapter, of course, starts from George s
Birth and tells of his childhood of growing admiration for the wilds of the frontier and the British
Army. A little later, the book moves forward to Washington s first military blunder in inciting the
French and Indian War which makes the name George Washington internationally known. After this
incident, Flexner

How Did Appeasement Cause Ww2
Appeasement, a foreign policy particularly prevalent in the period of time leading up until the
outbreak of World War Two, undoubtedly played a role in the ignition of the second world war,
however the extent if this role and the impact it had a cause for the war is debatable. Appeasement was
a policy employed as a preventative measure to stop the outbreak of war, at a time when the horrors of
the First World War were still affecting European society, and involved making concessions to the
opposition, in this case Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. Whilst it is clear that Appeasement was a
failure as it did not manage to prevent the outbreak of another war, some historians argue that it in fact
was one of the causes of the war. This aspect of the debate was ignited in 1961 by notable historian
A.J.P. Taylor, when he asserted1 that the outbreak of War in Europe in 1939 was as much the fault of
the politicians of Europe and their persistence with Appeasement, which gradually allowed Hitler and
Nazi Germany more freedom then the terms dictated in the Treaty of Versailles and eventually paved
the way for militarization and the outbreak of war, as it was in fact Nazi Germany s. The most
commonly accepted views of Appeasement are that of Historians such as Norman Rich who asserted2
that Nazi ideology and Hitler s aggressive foreign policy made the outbreak of war unavoidable.
However, to form a conclusion about these debates, we must first understand the policy of
Appeasement and its

Sacrifice In The Industrial Revolution
Sacrifice in Manchester
Like a coin with two sides, world history is comprised of both positive and negative events. One such
historical juncture occurred with the eighteenth century Industrial Revolution which began in Great
Britain. This movement focused on transitioning manufacturing from simple hand production to more
complex methods utilizing machine tools, chemical manufacturing, iron production and use of steam
power. With its new factories and mills, Manchester was one city that was greatly impacted during this
innovative time. Although the Industrial Revolution led to several technological advancements which
allowed the economy of Manchester and other areas of the world to thrive, this movement negatively
impacted the city s vast working class by stifling their social mobility and quality of life as well as
degrading their living conditions. The Industrial Revolution created opportunities for cities to prosper
and as industrialization popularized, Manchester established a name for itself. As the enclosure
movement forced countless farmers out of work, people flocked to the city where newly built factories
offered a plethora of jobs. Manchester bustled with business and surrounding areas wanted to work
with them because, ... no part of England, not even London, presents such remarkable and attractive

  • 2. Indigo Airways Success Story yINDIGO AIRLINE How India s youngest airline became the largest . Reticent and low profile are not the usual personality traits of a CEO in a high profile business like aviation. Image: Aditya Ghosh But Aditya Ghosh, 37, has defied convention in many ways. His regular office wear is T shirt with jeans, he doesn t have a B school degree and before joining IndiGo, he was a lawyer at J Sagar. Ghosh has justified his aversion for the spotlight by saying that people don t fly IndiGo because they know the president of the company. So his reaction to the six year old IndiGo taking a giant leap to become India s largest airline in July was just an one liner: The airline, he said, never chased market share, but being the largest in ... Also, the moment the flight lands, an automatic message is triggered from the aircraft to the control centre. There are some dissent notes as well. While vouching for its operational efficiency and attention for details, industry analysts take the airline s claim of profitability with a pinch of salt. I doubt if the company was able to maintain profit at operational level last year, said an analyst. The company, which claims to be profitable since 2009 10, is not publicly listed and does not announce its detailed financial figures. However, numbers filed with the Registrar of Companies show that the result for 2011 12 is still awaited. However, in an interview in March, Ghosh claimed that the company would remain in the black albeit with a smaller profit. In the previous financial year, the airline reported 18 per cent rise in its net profit to Rs 650.32 crore. The country s youngest airline has become its largest. Low cost carrier IndiGo, which began operations this month in 2006, has overtaken Jet Airways in terms of passengers flown. According to the latest figures released by the DGCA, IndiGo, with 27 per cent market share in July this year, has edged past Jet, which managed 26.6 per cent share. There is one thing that every single human being hungrily craves. There is one thing that can make the potential difference between a life of abject poverty or comfortable prosperity: knowledge. The human mind s thirst for knowledge can never be fully quenched, and it is always left wanting more; although, this isn t necessarily a detrimental thing. Many different and unique styles of education have emerged as an attempt to satisfy the universal desire of knowledge, but it is often debated which style of education is the most effective. There is a very wide range of teaching styles on the spectrum of education, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since both the United States and Japan have very contrasting styles of education, many different outcomes arise from each of these styles. For instance, since the educational system of Japan is so strict and structured, students are gradually chiseled into very responsible and disciplined individuals who are very skilled when it comes to things such as standardized tests; however, much is unseen about this transformational process to the American eye. In Kyoko Mori s essay School, her firsthand experience of the Japanese educational system is shared. She states that You can never question the authority of the teacher, whom you address simply as sensei, literally, one whose life comes first ... The teacher is like the biblical God, whom you cannot name (Mori 136). When authority cannot be questioned and is to be treated like God, how are students expected to comprehend every detail taught by their instructor? If the students can t quite grasp an idea, how are they supposed to completely master it without the aid of their so called godly instructors? The Japanese answer to this solution is simple: Memorization and repeated practice (Mori 132). In Japan, students are drilled into the ground by constant memorization and repeated practice, and without the aid of their teachers, they have to claw their way up a mountain to acquire every single answer. ... In a physics classroom, a wave is a disturbance that carries energy from one point to another. The types of waves are endless from electromagnetic, sound, magnetic, longitudinal and transverse just to name a few. The later two are key in class as they are the most common types of waves and not only are they used to teach a concept but are also used in our everyday lives. A key difference between a longitudinal and a transverse wave is the way they transport energy. While a transverse wave does not require a medium to pass on energy a longitudinal on the other hand must have a medium for it to pass down energy. Each of these waves have a group of properties and display a certain behavior that makes them distinguishable. For example in a longitudinal wave the particles move left and right making other particles oscillate. Meanwhile in a transverse wave the particles move up and down. A set of vocabulary words are attached to each wave and also helps distinguish them in a physics problem and when presented with an image. In a longitudinal ... • 9. Essay On North And South Industrialization The North and the South had many differences, the most important dissimilarity was their level of industrialization. The North prioritized industry and railroads, while the South remained mostly agricultural. Northern production, transportation networks, and economy drastically out performed the South during the civil war, leading to a Northern victory. Firstly, Massive industrialization in the North meant factories were being built across all states, this explosion of expansion really set the base for how far ahead the North would get from the confederacy. By 1860, 90 percent of the nation s manufacturing output came from northern states (B. Arrington, nps). The Union would also get all of their firearms and clothing necessary for their war effort from these factories. In the South, things were very much the opposite. Slave trade was at an all time high, the amount of farms and plantations growing cash crops were also at a high point. • 10. The Life Of The Landscape Essay The landscape changed quite drastically as we left the lush rainforest behind and entered the semi arid region in the South of Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada. Green fir trees made way for golden rolling hills and scrubby terrain. Adding a splash of colour to the otherwise dry looking terrain were the green vineyards perched against the gentle sloping hills. This might come as a surprise, but Canada s only desert is home to a growing wine community with many award winning wines being produced here. Welcome to Osoyoos. As we approached the town, a large lake came into view. Osoyoos Lake is the warmest freshwater lake in Canada and is surrounded by pristine vineyards along its perimeter. 37 wineries are now a member of The Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association, a non profit organization with a goal to develop the wine industry in Oliver and Osoyoos through education and promotion. While driving through the region, we decided to visit a few well known and lesser known wineries and learn about their history. Stoneboat Vineyards We passed many picturesque wineries as we drove through the valley, each offering wine tasting to anyone who is keen to sample their BC wine. We stopped at Stoneboat Vineyards, a family owned winery only 20 minutes from downtown Osoyoos. The lovely Julie Martiniuk greeted us, who together with her husband Lanny, purchased a 15 acre orchard in 1979 and planted their first vines in 1983. 40 Years later, they now have over 48 acres and are producing award ... They can become unlinked, or separated, in crossing over with the frequency of separation being higher the further apart the genes are on the chromosome. The relationship between the frequency of genes separation due to crossing over and the distance between genes is inversely proportional. That is the further the genes are away from each other the more likely they will cross over. The frequency of crossing over, also known as the recombinant frequency, is directly related to the distance between genes, because the farther apart two genes are, the more likely a crossover is to form somewhere between them. In the initial session, the therapist goes over the confidentiality of the therapy, goals of treatment, share what the family will expect, and listens to each member s viewpoint of their problems and the reason why they are seeking treatment. The initial session can show the therapist how the family communicates and gets to observe the dynamic of the family. Also in the initial session, the therapist will establish a therapeutic alliance with the clients. The therapist is here for each member of the family and will remain objective. Clients are not just in therapy to talk about their problems, they are here to become stronger as individuals and as a family as a whole. A limitation of making it mandatory for the entire family to attend the initial session is that it may be hard to control. When the whole family is together, it may lead to lots of shouting which can cause the session to take a negative turn. The members can get out of control and ultimately the session will be counterproductive to the treatment process. In terms of religion, the Aborigines believed that all forms of life came from Creation Ancestors , referring to both animal and human kind, and that their spirits linger and dwell on mountains, rocks, and whoever disrespects the land will be turned to rock. This short story revolves around the character Elisa Allen who has a strong love and a great passion for her flowers, for her beloved chrysanthemums. However, when a mysterious man arrives towards the end of the text Elisa s love and passion for the chrysanthemums weakens and she feels betrayed by one of the things she loves most. Steinbeck uses the unlikely encounter between the Tinker and Elisa, as well as, the encounter between Elisa and her husband as a way to express the theme of love and betrayal. She is out working in the garden doing tasks that almost seem too easy for her because of how passionate she is about her gardening. In paragraph 6 of the text it states that the chrysanthemum stems seemed too small and easy for her energy (103). • 31. George Washington The Indispensable Man Analysis George Washington is a towering historical figure who is considered the father of the United States. James Thomas Flexner captures the man, not the myth, behind this legendary icon in one concise single volume biography, Washington: the Indispensable Man. This book is a condensed but altogether new version of Flexner s previous four volume biography of George Washington. This smaller scale book is well written, and explores Washington as the human being behind the legendary icon (New York Times Book Review) to bring the reader to a closer relation to a man removed by time and history. Of time and history, George Washington had a great deal more of it which Flexner had to cover. Washington was a major national figure for twenty four years from his election as Commander in Chief to his death, and he was hardly twenty when his role in the French and Indian War made him internationally known. The wide ranging subject of Washington must have been difficult to fit into one encapsulated volume, but Flexner manages not only to do that but also writes straightforward in thought with flowing ideas and logical conclusions. The first chapter, of course, starts from George s Birth and tells of his childhood of growing admiration for the wilds of the frontier and the British Army. A little later, the book moves forward to Washington s first military blunder in inciting the French and Indian War which makes the name George Washington internationally known. After this incident, Flexner ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. How Did Appeasement Cause Ww2 Appeasement, a foreign policy particularly prevalent in the period of time leading up until the outbreak of World War Two, undoubtedly played a role in the ignition of the second world war, however the extent if this role and the impact it had a cause for the war is debatable. Appeasement was a policy employed as a preventative measure to stop the outbreak of war, at a time when the horrors of the First World War were still affecting European society, and involved making concessions to the opposition, in this case Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. Whilst it is clear that Appeasement was a failure as it did not manage to prevent the outbreak of another war, some historians argue that it in fact was one of the causes of the war. This aspect of the debate was ignited in 1961 by notable historian A.J.P. Taylor, when he asserted1 that the outbreak of War in Europe in 1939 was as much the fault of the politicians of Europe and their persistence with Appeasement, which gradually allowed Hitler and Nazi Germany more freedom then the terms dictated in the Treaty of Versailles and eventually paved the way for militarization and the outbreak of war, as it was in fact Nazi Germany s. The most commonly accepted views of Appeasement are that of Historians such as Norman Rich who asserted2 that Nazi ideology and Hitler s aggressive foreign policy made the outbreak of war unavoidable. However, to form a conclusion about these debates, we must first understand the policy of Appeasement and its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
