Persuasive Speech On Voting
Introduction
Good afternoon. I'm sure you know that voting is a large part of our lives, one that can influence
our futures heavily. Young adults are the leaders of the future, and we will have a large
responsibility in said future. Shouldn't we be allowed to choose what world we want to live (and
die) in later on? If we live in a country that we have options to change, we can perform better and
focus more, as you probably feel more comfortable in an environment you chose to be in. My three
points are:
Appeal to younger votes to in turn receive more votes
Younger people's optimism can help make better choices
Younger voters would give the government a good overview on teens
Paragraph 1
On to my second point, that the age restriction on voting should be lowered, as younger people are
more optimistic. In my opinion, younger people are more optimistic because they may have not
experienced as many negative things throughout the course of their lives, as they haven't been alive
for such a long time....show more content...
A lot of young people complain about the government and its rules, so if they were allowed to
vote, the government would have nothing to lose.. If these people were allowed to officially
vote, the government could look at what they want, and implement it to satisfy these citizens'
needs. This way, there would be less complaining about the government by young people, as they
had a choice to change what they think needs changing. The vote that brings you happiness and
peace brings us anger and frustration. For example, when Britain voted to be independent, a lot
of teenagers were outraged by the decision of Britain leaving the EU. If they were allowed to
vote, it could have been part of their decision, too; so they wouldn't have complained about older
people. This is why the age restriction on voting should be lowered to at least 15 years of age in the
near

In America today, HIV has token the lives of multiple individuals. The public health system and
government are hindering research, care, sex education, drugs and HIV awareness to the public,
which is causing the demise of humanity due to this deadly disease. Elizabeth Pisani, an independent
researcher and analyst of the Ted talk, Sex, drugs andHIV–let's get rational is a fearlessly outspoken
women trying to educate the public on the world–wide failure to understand and manage the reality
of HIV epidemic, decrying the difficult roles that revenue, votes, and social media play in the public
health organization. Pisani became an assumption busting independent researcher, polling
transgendered sex workers, drug addicts and others to illuminate the surprising, and often ignored
demographics that belie traditional studies. In this Ted talk, Pisani uses logos, pathos, and ethos on
her audience to get the point across on the spread prevention of HIV. In the ted talk, Pisani first sets
the stage by stating "people do stupid things things–that's what spreads HIV". Pisani then goes on to
outline some of the rational reasons of spreading the deadly disease, like having sex with infected
people and using dirty needles to shoot up. Pisani uses strong appeals to logos, with many facts
and statistics and logical progressions of ideas. The story of Fuad, an Indonesian man she
interviewed who called himself heterosexual, but had regular sex with his girlfriend but also paid
for sex with

The World Wide Fund for Nature or WWF for short has worked at reducing our carbon footprint
for over 45 years. Even since 1985, the World Wildlife Fund Network has invested over $1.165
billion in more than 11,000 projects. According to the WWF website, their mission is to conserve
nature which they are actively doing in 100 countries with 1.2 million members in the United
States and close to 5 million globally. There are several ways that everyone can do their part in
supporting WWF. Supporters can donate money, adopt a species, or take action and directly help
conserve our environment. I am going to discuss WWF's cause and importance, how they are
working to conserve nature, and how all of you can help support the cause. WWF's goal is...show

WWF has a strong belief that public–private partnerships can greatly benefit their strategy to save
the future of nature. WWF is partnered with and receives funds from, the U.S. Agency for
International Development, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Oceanic &
Atmospheric Administration, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
WWF has used its partnership with the American Red Cross to give advice on better practices for
rebuilding communities impacted by disaster. The goal of their Humanitarian Partnerships Program
is to ensure that recovery and reconstruction efforts include environmentally sustainable
considerations. By utilizing all of these partnerships WWF has raised a lot of global awareness of
their cause and made an enormous positive impact on the Earth's environment. WWF is also very
concerned about the communities and indigenous people located and living near the natural places
they work to protect. These people depend on the environment for survival, and throughout their
history they have developed traditions and practices that sustainably manage their natural resources.
Some of the problems these communities face are; outside competition for land and resources,
conflict with wildlife, and human population growth. WWF helps these people and communities
conserve resources while improving their livelihoods by incorporating elements of governance,
gender relations, health, and education

Persuasive Speech Essay
It's my way or the highway is an idiom developed in the 1970s, and the sentiment that it represents
is certainly not unique to the Millennials. Judge Judy, we respect your opinion, but you need to
realise one thing. It is hypocritical for you, and likeminded traditionalists, to criticise Millennials
for "having only one view" if, in the future, we attempt to stray from the predetermined paths of
earlier generations. We, the millennials, would prefer to take a different highway to you, and yes
it will be our way because we know it's the best path to take. If that translates into my way is the
only way then so be it. It is a common belief among members of previous generations that not
adhering to the norm will define a generation that has not, and will not achieve anything of
significance. True, we did not put a man on the moon, however, neither did we destroy the
climate, flatten Iraq and Syria, turn a blind eye to starvation and child poverty, or have our future
stolen from us by the oncoming age of technology or a mountain of debt built up by those who
have gone before us. I can assure everyone in this room today, we are a generation that, in the
future, will accomplish and be accomplished, just not the way some want us to. I can also assure
everyone in this room that in the future that there will be collisions on the highway we choose just
as happened in the past: terrorism, human displacement and global warming. But we will travel on
our highway just as you were afforded

Persuasive Speech On War
War is a topic plenty have a hard time talking about it or even comprehending the idea of war in
the first place. It is part of the human condition of conquering and controlling whatever we feel is
rightfully ours, despite the consequences that come with that certain type of impulse. Millions
have died over the causes for territory, religion, independence, equality, etc; but that begs the
question: should we even feel guilty over viewing or even being the cause of these deaths in the
first place? When you are even inadvertently responsible for killing someone or if you only think
so then of course you would feel guilty for killing someone either on or not on purpose. It is hard
to cope with the fact that there is one less soul on this planet because of your actions and perhaps
one of, if not the worst feelings on Earth. However, in war, you are not the only one. In battle you
have a job to due which is making the 'enemy' surrender in order to support the cause you are
fighting for. You have signed up to due this in the first place, so why not go through with the deal
you have made? In fact, by engaging in such bloodshed, you are providing an odd, twisted benefit
to our society: population control. By getting out there on the battlefield and eliminating a few
soldiers, you are slowing down the process of overpopulation. Face it, we are reaching upwards of
8 billion people on our small planet with its dwindling resources and space and struggle to control
ourselves from

Struggle is a natural thing in life. There is no escaping the struggles that life will throw at you.
But when you struggle, there is always success soon to come. Surfing taught me that you must
fall before you can stand. That you will struggle before you succeed. When most girls turn sixteen
years old, they want a big party, with presents, loud music, loads of friends, and just overall
craziness. At least that's how I always imagined it. I didn't want any of that. I didn't want the
presents or the music or anything close to a party. When I turned sixteen, I wanted to go to
Hawaii. Although the whole trip was very memorable for me and my entire family, the day that
sticks out the most is the day I learned how to surf. The bright blue skin guard was baggy on my
average framed body. I wiggled my toes in the damp water shoes wishing that I could stay barefoot
and wiggle them in the soft white sand. The instructor, Joseph, was teaching my dad, Daniel–a man
we had met that day while getting ready for our lesson–and me how to surf the waves of Oahu.
Joseph handed me a long board with a beautiful blue hibiscus on the back of the board. The three
of us sat in the warm sand listening to Joseph explain how to get into proper form when catching a
wave. Although words were coming out of his mouth, I was captivated by the water and ignoring
the lesson which is probably important. Eventually we start doing drills on the sand on the steps to
catch a wave and this time my attention is on

Topic: Organ Donation
Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to donate their organs and tissues when they die and to
act upon their decision to donate.
Thesis Statement: The need is constantly growing for organ donors and it is very simple to be an
organ donor when you die.
I. INTRODUCTION
A. Attention material/Credibility Material: How do you feel when you have to wait for something
you really, really want? What if it was something you couldn't live without? Well, my cousin was
five years old when he found out he needed a new kidney. He went on the organ waiting list right
away. He was called twice during a six month span that they had a kidney available only to...show
more content...
2) The reason is that there are only on the average 6,000 donors nationally per year (Life Source:
Statistics).
c. You can choose to donate any needed organs or you can specify which organs or tissues you wish
to donate.
2. Organ donation is very important.
a. The following poem by Robert Test entitled, "To Remember Me," shows the importance of organ
donation.
"Give my sight to the man who has never seen a sunrise, a baby's face or love in the eyes of a
woman. Give my heart to a person whose heart has caused nothing but endless days of pain... Take
my bones, every muscle, every fiber and nerve in my body and find a way to make a crippled child
walk...Take my cells, if necessary, and let them grow so that, someday, a speechless boy will shout at
the crack of a bat and a deaf girl will hear the sound of rain against her window
b. Not only is this a problem nationally but also it is a big problem right here at home in Colorado.
1) Nationally, there are over 120,000 people waiting as of November 1, 2011. As of November 7,
2011, there are 1,142 people from Colorado that are on the organ waiting list (Life Source: Statistics).
2) The sad part is that there have only been 137 donors in Colorado so far from January 2011
through November 2011 (Life Source: Newsnotes).
[Transition: I'm sure that you can see the need for people like you to donate your organs. But you
might be asking, well, how can I make sure my organs are donated after I die? Let me tell you.]

Exercise Persuasive Speech
Attention Getter: Are you tired of being of gaining weight or just feeling sluggish all the time? Do
you have health issues? Well exercising can give you good health and psychological advantages.
Central Idea: I want to persuade my audience that when you decide to exercise it helps you
majorly with your health and you life. With that being said lack of exercise is harmful. Just do
yourself and your body a favor and exercise.
[Transition] to body of speech: I want to let you know today that everyone here today needs to
exercise. Even though everyone here knows that exercise is good for you but in reality how many
of you are actually getting physical?
Body
Main Point 1: Being inactive can cause health issues. Sub–point a.: Coronary...show more content...
Science shows that you do not need to do hard core exercise to reduce your risk of a early death.
Even doing less that that 150 I mentioned earlier still puts you at a lower risk of dying early. *A
person being physically active for at least 7 hours a week have a 40% lower risk of dying early than
those who were active less than 30 minutes a week. (Division of Nutrition and Obesity, June, 2015)
[TRANSITION] into conclusion
If none of those health benefits impressed you, well keep in mind you will look great also.
CONCLUSION:
Attention Material: None of us want to die early or none of us want those unwanted pounds we put
on.
Summary: Being inactive is not good for our health. *You want to avoid getting CAD and heart
disease, and you want to live a long healthy life *It doesn't take a lot of your time to exercise at least
be active 30 minutes a day. *Being physical will increase your chance of living longer
Overview: We should all at least try and get into the habit of exercising. If you were to start
exercising today remember it give us not just a better physical state but mental as well. Living for a
very long time is a great

Topic: Blood Donation
Purpose: To persuade my peers of the need for blood donations.
Thesis: The need for blood donors is crucial it could save a life of someone you know or your own.
Introduction:
A. Imagine you or someone you know needed blood to save their life. For example, if you were
born with a heart defect and required a transfusion for a chance at life. What if there was no blood
available? Well for instance, my niece was born with a rare blood disorder called ITP (idiopathic
thrombocytopenic purpura) to which her body kills off her own platelets. When her platelets fall, it
would require her to have a transfusion. Just...show more content...
There are numerous benefits to giving blood. A. Soon after giving blood you will receive a copy of
your blood type, in case you do not know it, in the mail. B. It might also say "Congratulations for
donating you have just saved at least three lives!" 1. Some places give out a T–shirt or a gift card to
your favorite restaurant. 2. Also, you get to eat snacks that you may never eat otherwise. 3. Just
the satisfaction of knowing you just saved lives. C. Some of you might still have questions about
giving blood. 1. You might think "if I give blood will it hurt?" 2. You can not get hurt giving
blood. 3. You might think "Gosh, I am not sure I want to give my blood when I need it myself to
survive. 4. It only takes 24 hours to replace the red blood cell lost during donating. 5. They only use
sterile or disposable materials to take your blood and using these can prevent you or someone from
contracting diseases.
(Transition: Finally, you know the problem and solution so visualize this.....) IV. In conclusion,
there is a definite need for blood donation, as I have explained. Some one needs blood every 3
seconds in the U.S. The donation process is simple and harmless. It could save a life of someone
you know or your own. So, I urge you to go out and donate and have the satisfaction of knowing
you just saved as much as 3 lives while doing so.

  • 2. Persuasive Speech On Voting Introduction Good afternoon. I'm sure you know that voting is a large part of our lives, one that can influence our futures heavily. Young adults are the leaders of the future, and we will have a large responsibility in said future. Shouldn't we be allowed to choose what world we want to live (and die) in later on? If we live in a country that we have options to change, we can perform better and focus more, as you probably feel more comfortable in an environment you chose to be in. My three points are: Appeal to younger votes to in turn receive more votes Younger people's optimism can help make better choices Younger voters would give the government a good overview on teens Paragraph 1 On to my second point, that the age restriction on voting should be lowered, as younger people are more optimistic. In my opinion, younger people are more optimistic because they may have not experienced as many negative things throughout the course of their lives, as they haven't been alive for such a long time....show more content... A lot of young people complain about the government and its rules, so if they were allowed to vote, the government would have nothing to lose.. If these people were allowed to officially vote, the government could look at what they want, and implement it to satisfy these citizens' needs. This way, there would be less complaining about the government by young people, as they had a choice to change what they think needs changing. The vote that brings you happiness and peace brings us anger and frustration. For example, when Britain voted to be independent, a lot of teenagers were outraged by the decision of Britain leaving the EU. If they were allowed to vote, it could have been part of their decision, too; so they wouldn't have complained about older people. This is why the age restriction on voting should be lowered to at least 15 years of age in the near Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Elizabeth Pisani, an independent researcher and analyst of the Ted talk, Sex, drugs andHIV–let's get rational is a fearlessly outspoken women trying to educate the public on the world–wide failure to understand and manage the reality of HIV epidemic, decrying the difficult roles that revenue, votes, and social media play in the public health organization. • 5. Persuasive Speech Essay It's my way or the highway is an idiom developed in the 1970s, and the sentiment that it represents is certainly not unique to the Millennials. Judge Judy, we respect your opinion, but you need to realise one thing. It is hypocritical for you, and likeminded traditionalists, to criticise Millennials for "having only one view" if, in the future, we attempt to stray from the predetermined paths of earlier generations. We, the millennials, would prefer to take a different highway to you, and yes it will be our way because we know it's the best path to take. If that translates into my way is the only way then so be it. It is a common belief among members of previous generations that not adhering to the norm will define a generation that has not, and will not achieve anything of significance. True, we did not put a man on the moon, however, neither did we destroy the climate, flatten Iraq and Syria, turn a blind eye to starvation and child poverty, or have our future stolen from us by the oncoming age of technology or a mountain of debt built up by those who have gone before us. I can assure everyone in this room today, we are a generation that, in the future, will accomplish and be accomplished, just not the way some want us to. I can also assure everyone in this room that in the future that there will be collisions on the highway we choose just as happened in the past: terrorism, human displacement and global warming. But we will travel on our highway just as you were afforded Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Speech On War War is a topic plenty have a hard time talking about it or even comprehending the idea of war in the first place. It is part of the human condition of conquering and controlling whatever we feel is rightfully ours, despite the consequences that come with that certain type of impulse. Millions have died over the causes for territory, religion, independence, equality, etc; but that begs the question: should we even feel guilty over viewing or even being the cause of these deaths in the first place? When you are even inadvertently responsible for killing someone or if you only think so then of course you would feel guilty for killing someone either on or not on purpose. It is hard to cope with the fact that there is one less soul on this planet because of your actions and perhaps one of, if not the worst feelings on Earth. However, in war, you are not the only one. In battle you have a job to due which is making the 'enemy' surrender in order to support the cause you are fighting for. You have signed up to due this in the first place, so why not go through with the deal you have made? In fact, by engaging in such bloodshed, you are providing an odd, twisted benefit to our society: population control. By getting out there on the battlefield and eliminating a few soldiers, you are slowing down the process of overpopulation. Face it, we are reaching upwards of 8 billion people on our small planet with its dwindling resources and space and struggle to control ourselves from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Speech Struggle is a natural thing in life. There is no escaping the struggles that life will throw at you. But when you struggle, there is always success soon to come. Surfing taught me that you must fall before you can stand. That you will struggle before you succeed. When most girls turn sixteen years old, they want a big party, with presents, loud music, loads of friends, and just overall craziness. At least that's how I always imagined it. I didn't want any of that. I didn't want the presents or the music or anything close to a party. When I turned sixteen, I wanted to go to Hawaii. Although the whole trip was very memorable for me and my entire family, the day that sticks out the most is the day I learned how to surf. The bright blue skin guard was baggy on my average framed body. I wiggled my toes in the damp water shoes wishing that I could stay barefoot and wiggle them in the soft white sand. The instructor, Joseph, was teaching my dad, Daniel–a man we had met that day while getting ready for our lesson–and me how to surf the waves of Oahu. Joseph handed me a long board with a beautiful blue hibiscus on the back of the board. The three of us sat in the warm sand listening to Joseph explain how to get into proper form when catching a wave. Although words were coming out of his mouth, I was captivated by the water and ignoring the lesson which is probably important. Eventually we start doing drills on the sand on the steps to catch a wave and this time my attention is on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
