Both Hersey Chocolate and Betty Crocker both have a notoriety for being delectable sweets that

3. How Does Chaucer Use Humor In The Millers Tale
While you would be hard pressed to deny/ignore the heavily present humor in the Miller s Tale, which
earns it the title of a fabliau, it is also equally critical to consider the ways in which Chaucer
contradicts these humorous moments with bouts of seriousness. Even though it is often difficult to
discern between what is light hearted and fun compared to what is meaningful and moral telling in the
Miller s Tale, identifying these moments of jest and ernest along with their distinct purposes can help
further readers understanding of what Chaucer might have intended as the overall take away of the
tale. Both moments of humor and seriousness, although contradictory, work together to highlight and
draw attention to instances of significance, which suggest small moral lessons. By examining the most
prominent moments of humor and seriousness and trying to identify the specific moral or reason for
creating that situation, it is the hope that Chaucer s overall intention for the tale will be understood

The Yupik people wished to reinforce alliances with other groups. At these celebrations the people
related stories, particularly of conflict. The burial ceremony known as the Feast of the Dead was held
by various North American Indian tribes particularly the Iroquois, Huron, Algonquin, and Ottawa. The
ceremony was held on an irregular basis, usually every ten to twelve years when a field rotation cycle
ended and the people who had been living in a particular area or village were ready to move on.
Rather than leave their dead behind, and as a way of making it possible for the spirits of the deceased
to complete their journey to the afterlife, the surviving relatives would carry what remained of the
corpses to a central location and bury the min a common grave. Although it sounds like a gruesome
event, several communities usually participated in the feast, which lasted for ten days and, like any
other funeral, gave the survivors an opportunity to renew their family and social bonds. The bodies of
the dead, which had sometimes been buried but more commonly placed in a temporary grave on a
scaffold, were gathered up and laid out in a row. Then the family members removed the flesh from the
bones and wrapped them with great care in animal skins and furs. The bodies of those who had died
recently were left intact and wrapped in furs as well. Each family held a funeral feast at which
speeches were made praising the deceased and gifts were presented in their honor. The common burial
ground was often many miles away, and families carried the corpses on litters and the bones in a
bundle across their backs, wailing in imitation of the souls of the deceased as they marched. When
they reached the burial ground, all the mourners would set up camp, light fires, and prepare for the
ossuary ritual. The younger men would engage in FUNERAL GAMES as entertainment, the women

This quote said by Henry David Thoreau, I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the
trees. This explains the effects from being in the wilderness and the outdoors will affect your life. A
outdoorsman also has to have the right equipment for what they will be doing. The outdoors has been
a big part of my life, and has impacted how I live. To get equipment to go hunting and fish you need to
go to a sporting goods store. The biggest two are Cabela s and Bass Pro. Cabela s and Bass Pro are
similar and different in many ways including equipment, clothing, and locations.
The first subject is how they are different and the same with the equipment they sell. They both sell
about every outdoor product you can think of. The stores mainly ... Show more content on

The location has the biggest impact on why they sell different products. Cabela s stores are mostly
located in the northwest region of the United States, so for this reason that is why they sell more
hunting than fishing equipment. They do have stores all across the country, but are mostly in this area.
Bass Pro is mostly based out of the southeast corner of the United States. The reason for this is
because bass fishing and fishing in general is more popular in this area of the country. This is also why
they sell sea fishing equipment, and not as much hunting equipment. The two companies have stores
all over the midwest. This is the area where hunting, and fishing is more popular and practiced.
Cabela s and Bass Pro are similar and different in many ways including equipment, clothing, and
locations. Now that I have told you how they are the same and different, I hope that the next time you
go to either of the stores you take into consideration what I have talked about. Even though they are
both owned by the same company I hope you pick the one that fits your needs and products you want.

7. The Biggest Stressor In A Family’S Experience Is A Death.
The biggest stressor in a family s experience is a death. Stress levels can be different if deaths are
sudden or even if the death was known to be coming. Also, at different ages the stressors of a death in
the family can differ greatly. The experiences of a death of a child, death of a sibling, death of a
parent, and/or death of a spouse/partner all have similarities and differences.
Death of a Child The death of a child in a family can have different meanings depending on the
family. With the death of a child, one concludes the child as young, school age or younger.

stressors has the same resources available to them. A few of these resources are: therapy, a support
network, and even their religion. Next, the C factor in the ABC X Model is how each family handles
the stressor of death in their family. The C factor in this model is where the contrast is between these
occurrences. It has always puzzled observers that some families ride out the vicissitudes of floods and
disasters without apparent disorganization, whereas most families are at least temporarily paralyzed by
such catastrophes. The key appears to be at the meaning dimension. Stressors become crises in line
with the definition the family makes of the event. (Wilmoth, 2009) In society in general the death of a
child, sibling, parent, and a spouse/partner hold a different meaning, one death is not equal to all. Such
as, a child s death is harder to cope with, because they were young and did not get a chance to live
their life, parents are not supposed to outlive their children. Whereas, the death of a sibling is not as
concerning in today s society, there is more emphasis put on the parents of the lost life than the
siblings of it. However, the death of a parent in society is

second example of how the camera added to the protagonist was the constant focus on her face to

Feelings of anxiety and some nervousness always sprout up when I know there is a role play to

Everybody would be staring at you, and this makes me slightly uncomfortable. Many thoughts raced
through my mind. For example, What if I said the wrong thing, what if I did the wrong thing; or what
if my acting skills were not up to par. Role playing made no sense to me because, in real life
situations, I knew it would be different. I would be able to respond accordingly, and not feel judged by
all of the eyes that were focused on me. As a result, my client in real life would benefit from our
therapeutic sessions. It is funny though, because once the role play in the class started, feelings of
calmness surrounded me. In addition, my game face was on, I was cool and collected. In part this can

softball and volleyball. With the time and years I have spent with these three sports I have had two
major injuries. Gymnastics was the very first sport I have ever done. I was a gymnast for eight years. I
started when I was four years old and as I got older I started competitive gymnastics. On January 21,
2011 I was In Indianapolis at the Convention Center competing at Circle Of Stars. I was competing on
floor and just ended my first tumbling pass and I landed wrong, I sat there on the floor for a couple
minutes crying in pain and then got up and finished my floor routine. When I ended I carried myself
halfway off the floor until my coach came and carried me off the rest of the way. I went to the trainer

research is not always applied to practice. According to Roberts (1994), literacy in L1 supports L2 by
being able to transfer the teachings to L2 students. Research shows that knowledge of alphabets and

proficiency showed little relationship between their L1 and L2 reading ability whereas learners with
above average in L2 proficiency demonstrated a positive relationship between their L1 and L2 reading
abilities.(b) The benefit of L2 proficiency was higher than the benefit of L1 reading ability in

21. Proper Level Of Segregation Between Audit And Non Audit...
Abstract
Abstract:The purpose of this research paper is to discuss the proper level of segregation between audit
and non audit services, to ensure independence and instill public confidence. In the wake of numerous
accounting scandals of Enron, WorldCom, etc, the importance of auditor independence has been
brought to the forefront of the accounting profession. The U.S. Public Company Accounting Oversight
Board (PCAOB) has taken a strict stance on auditor independence, which signifies that an auditor
cannot provide business advisory services without impeding their autonomy. However, an analysis of
the current auditor client relationship reveals contradictions to the interpretation of absolute auditor
independence. In recent developments, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, AICPA s Code of Professional Conduct contains over 200 pages of interpretive guidance
on the topic of independence alone. The AICPA and PCAOB stress heavily on the importance of
auditor independence, and for good reason. Financial statement users trust independent auditors ability
to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free of material
misstatement, whether caused by error or fraud. (AU C 200.06) Auditor independence is required to
instill public confidence in U.S. financial markets. Thus, the Public Company Accounting Oversight
Board (PCAOB) has a strict view on independence in both fact and appearance. In AU 220.01,
PCAOB states that an auditor must be without bias with respect to the client. More specifically, an
independent auditor must be free from any obligation to or interest in the client, its management, or its
owners. (AU 220.03) This strict interpretation of auditor independence was adopted as a means to
restore public confidence in U.S. financial markets following the Enron, Waste Management, and
other frauds in the early 2000 s. Unfortunately, the concept of strict auditor independence may be
impossible in today s public accounting environment. There are several environmental factors that
influence perceived auditor independence. The underlying fee structure for accounting firms that audit
public companies prohibits complete auditor client

24. The Three Categories Of Civil Peace
With every object that people have and every experience that people go though, they can be
categorized into three categories: needs, wants, and negatives. Wants and needs, the two positive
categories, are prioritized differently by everyone. People often misinterpret some parts of these
categories, believing certain wants are needs and vice versa. For example, some people see makeup as
a need to go outside, it is really just a want. This is how addictions form. When people categorize a
want as need, however subconsciously, they end up truly needing that, whether it be drugs, alcohol, or
even sugar. On the other hand, when people prioritize their wants, they often will be happier in life,

27. Characteristics Of The Leopard
The Leopard
Long ago, the leopard and the Ethiopian, his white hunting companion, lived in a place called the
High Veldt. The two dominated this vast grassland, and they were able to hunt and catch any animal
they wished. Their favorite meals consisted of the plain sandy yellow brown coated giraffe and zebra.
One sunny day, the giraffe and zebra were hiding from the leopard and Ethiopian within the shadows
of the trees. Mysteriously, jagged shadow shapes appeared on the fur of the giraffe and the zebra. The
prey became permanently striped and spotted and were so well camouflaged that the leopard and
Ethiopian were now incapable of finding lunch. The two hunters knew they needed to up their game,
so the Ethiopian turned his skin black. The leopard asked his companion to give him spots so he could
blend in, too. The Ethiopian pressed his five fingertips all over the leopard s plain coat; both of them
were now camouflaged just like the giraffe and zebra.
This retelling of Rudyard Kipling s How the Leopard Got His Spots is a fanciful fable which portrays
the cunning nature of the leopard. Besides its stealthiness and competitiveness, this spotted wonder
possesses several other traits which display God s originality in creating it. In order to understand the
significance of the leopard, one must understand its physical characteristics and behavior, unique
habitat and hunting strategies, and extreme threats to its existence.

29. Immigration Policies Essay
There are many countries around the world that have very limited opportunities within the sphere of
immigration policies. A few examples are Italy, Japan and United Arab Emirates. Now that being said
all of these places aren t necessarily unfavorable places for immigrants, they are just found to still hold
restricting policies. These policies include paying money for immigrants to leave, detaining them, and
refusing rights. Through all established immigration policies there is heavy debate and controversy,
but it s usually pretty easy to agree on policies that come off as too harsh.
In Italy, immigration is managed from North Africa and the Mediterranean by enforcing strict
immigration policies. Their current policies allow immigration officials to fine illegal immigrants
anywhere between €5,000 10,000 and detain them for up to 6 months. This is only one of their
immigration laws and it made people furious. There were two days of riots that left everything
destroyed, officers in the hospital and rioters detained. Though this immigration policy is still in place
Italy is ranked fairly well by MIPEX (Migration integration policy index).
Japan is another state that has always had immigration problems, but in an attempt to help their
unemployment rates, they put in place a policy that slowed down the importation of cheap labor. They
have had labor shortages because of their aging population and their change in needs. Though labor

32. Essay On Domain Name Search
CAN I GET A DOMAIN?
The first thing that comes to mind when you start a business is to secure a domain name, which
establishes a unique identity online. But, you go online to buy one and discover your domain name is
not available.
The next step is to tweak or find related names by adding hyphens ( ), underscore (_). Domain name
search often leads to confusion because domain names are not case sensitive and some names can be
misrepresented if there is a space, punctuation or capitalization. Example, a therapist with a room that
chose therapistroom.com as an online presence can be misread as the rapist room, Who Represents, a

contact, that is, registered under your name or company; If possible, add a current phone number, a
designated email address (such as contact@domain.com just to avoid spammers) and a physical
address or a P.O. Box. This makes it easier for users to verify your credibility with an offline presence.
There are several ways to verify a domain, but the fastest way is whois.net. Also, be careful when
choosing an expired domain name. Some are affected by copyright or trademark infringement, some
have a history of bad representation or ban from Google searches for violating a Google term.
After buying a domain name, what next? Domain in simple term is a plot of land. When you secure a
domain name, you secure a digital plot of land on the internet. That security comes with an
identification label to prove ownership or control. That ownership acquired from a Domain name
Registrar (such as godaddy.com, domains.google.com) does not confer outright ownership or legal
ownership of the domain, but only an exclusive right of use for a particular period of time (usually for
1 year, 2 years, 5 years or 10 years). After securing a domain name, you have to host it.
Hosting is to build a house on your digital plot of land. Without hosting or host name, you cannot

Interesting facts:
In a foetus, the spleen produces RBCs
Before a baby is born, the task of producing red blood cells rests with the spleen. As birth approaches,
the spleen gradually stops doing this and allows the bone marrow to take over.
About 10% of humans have a second spleen
About 10% of the human population has a much smaller second spleen also known as an accessory

One of the main jobs of the spleen is to fight microorganisms and halt the spread of infections in the

In order to understand the American Civil War, one must know more about the leaders who controlled

combat. One is known as the great emancipator of the slaves, the other, as the first leader of the Ku

railroads and lumber companies to make his living. Later in the 1860s, Forrest was chosen to be the

he led the Klan members on horseback to intimidate former slaves, republicans, and other northern
civilians. In 1869, he reportedly disbanded the cult, and when later asked about his association, he
denied all ties to the group. After this disbanding of the Ku Klux Klan, Forrest saw his businesses fail

Abraham Lincoln, it is important to look at their upbringings. When the magnifying glass is put up to
these influential figures, it is clear that they had extremely similar childhoods. Lincoln and Forrest
both started out poor and would go on to teach themselves how to read and write. Later they would
slowly rise to the occasion, and be put in a place of power. For Forrest, that is when he started making

CALTEX 1.0 INTRODUCTION: The Purpose of this report is to investigate about the Operations at a
Caltex Service station. The Caltex is a petroleum brand name of Chevron Corporation utilized as a
part of more than 60 nations in the Asia Pacific district, the Middle East, and southern Africa. Caltex
items are accessible to New Zealand through more than 220 Caltex outlets. (Caltex in New Zealand,
2015). It offers the cheapest and different varieties of petrol and diesel Regular, premium, Techron D
so on. For the purpose report I observed the various activities at Caltex service station at Balmoral
which are described below:
1.1 CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RESOURCE UTILISATION: Customer service and resource
utilisation are the backbone of any business especially in the petrol industry. The Caltex employees
demonstrate three obvious standards fixed by their management and they offer dynamic, considerate
and professional service (Customer Connect, 2006). They have a positive

41. Social Media And Satire
Why exactly has technology had a bad impact on the world when it was originally created to make
everything easier? It s simple: Because of social media and websites creating safe havens for hatred.
Social media is one of the biggest culprits to this, especially when it can be a catalyst to conflict in the
real world. A person I don t know tried to follow me on Instagram. says Saru Daway, a freshman. I
didn t accept his follow request, and he started to get aggressive. He asked me out, and I refused. I told
him to stop texting me, but he continued to insult me. The definition of cyberbullying is the use of
electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or
threatening nature. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With over 94,000 subscribers, it is one of the most popular subreddits on the site. However, the sheer
scope of the amount of horrible comments shows exactly how many hateful people use the site. The
user created blogging site Tumblr does not fare any better. It is known for being very pro depression,
whether it is used for satire or seriousness. This site is so god**** anti recovery. I ve been spending
years trying to get better but everyone s mindset of if you spend every hour of every day wanting to
kill yourself you re valid uwu was just making my health worse. says the user evenmoreuserboxes. It
is unfair to say, however, that these sites are not trying to stop bullying and toxicity online. A study by
researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology prove that after the banning of toxic subreddits has
lowered hate speech by 80 90%. The truth of the matter is, cyberbullying is a major problem in our
country. However, not all hope is lost. As of August 2015, bullying has been made illegal in all 50
states, so it is only a matter of time until people start to crack down on cyberbullying. But more people
need to do the right thing by preventing it however they

42. The Commercial Use of Mobile Telephones
The Commercial Use of Mobile Telephones
Around the 1980 s mobile telephones started showing up for commercial use. They were analog style,
cumbersome and expensive to purchase. In the 1990 s digital technology was born and mobile phones
became readily available to everyone and less expensive than the previous ten years. By 1998 over
30% of the world population within the areas of Europe, Asia, and North America had mobile
telephones.
With this type of usage of mobile telephones, Mobile Telephone Network plc (MTN) was born in
1993 attempting to earn their share in the South Africa market for mobile telephones. By 1999 MTN
had over 1.3 million subscribes in South Africa. MTN is only one of three in the southern hemisphere
to receive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
THREATS:
Each new country entered will present new challenges of entry such as different languages, tribal laws
or politics, and local geography.
Difficulties with installation and maintenance of new stations and equipment.
Unknown quantities of resources may be depleted with each country added, over and above the
normal or planed cost of the project.
MTN must train enough people to provide services and be able to retain those individuals.
Competitors may undercut pricing to gain market share.
Following Nigeria the countries that MTN are interested in are Cameroon, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana,
Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Senegal, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. MTN s first key issue
holds many facets in determining entry into the other foreign countries. The main areas of concern
include, but certainly not limited to, cost, culture and ethics.
Cost
To determine if a country will be profitable in the long run, MTN must review all benefits, costs and
risks involved. The eleven African countries MTN s is investigating are considered to have a relatively
small economic market because of their low living standards and small purchasing power.
However, 6 of the 11 countries, Gabon, Mauritius, Senegal, Cameroon, Mozambique and Ghana, are
on a coast or have a costal port. Geography in these countries insures they have markets and access to
export goods through out the world. Telephone services would only help that type of

43. Taking a Look at Quantum Dots
To begin with in layman s language or maybe for a person who has limited or little knowledge about
physics, quantum dots are materials that are small but are sufficient to exhibit quantum mechanical
properties. Quantum dots were first discovered in 1980. They exhibit electronic properties which are
between semiconductors and discrete molecules. That is the very reason for the unusually high surface
to volume ratio. The most visible use of quantum dots is in fluorescence where the nanocrystal is
capable of producing different distinctive colors determined by their particle size.
For the more experienced and the more technical personals, Quantum dots are semiconductor
nanostructures confining the motion of the conduction band electrons, the valence band holes or the
excitons and are in all the three spatial directions. The excitons are confined to the three spatial
directions only. There would be a doubt about what excitons is thus the definition; an exciton is a state
or rather a bound state of an electron or a hole which are attracted to each other by the coulombs force.
They are neutral quasiparticles that are generally existent in semiconductors and also in insulators.
They may also be found in some liquids.
The reasons for confinement can be electrostatic potential which can be due to external electrodes,
strain, impurities and doping. According to a lot of research that has been going on in this field, a
quantum dot has a discrete quantized energy spectrum.
