The present study attempts to analyse the governing factors behind the delays in construction of
highway projects in India. Ahmedabad, largest city in the state of Gujarat and the adjoining areas are
considered for fetching the data required in the present work. Pre designed questionnaire is prepared
and used as a research tool for collecting information pertaining to frequency of occurrence of non
value adding activities in highway projects with respect to construction practices. Seventy seven
samples are being collected and the same are used here for the analysis. Fuzzy Logic based Delay
Prediction Models (FL DPM) are developed to predict the delay in construction of highways for
different levels of control over the three categories of predictor variable i.e. Human Resource,
Equipment and Material. The developed models are observed to predict the delay in projects
satisfactorily as validated by the collected responses. These models find application in Indian
infrastructure industry where a huge uncertainty prevails right from the planning phase to the
execution of the project. The findings here can facilitate dissemination of research and practice of
Lean Construction concept among stakeholders of the Indian construction sector which is believed to
mitigate various losses that accompanies the conventional approaches, particularly in the execution of
highway projects.

Through the Social Class
Society has developed the concept of social class, to categorized people into different groups based on
economic, political, and socio economic status. This concept has made it difficult for the middle and
lower class to succeed. Charles Dickens had a sense of writing during the Victorian Era as it sought to
represent a large and comprehensive social world, with a variety of classes. Novels during this time
were made to be realistic and Charles Dickens excelled at doing that and exceeded expectations. One
of his most famous novels, Great Expectations was set in early Victorian Era when great social
changes were sweeping the nation. Charles Dickens s Great Expectations tells the story of Pip, an
English orphan who rises to wealth, deserts his true friends, and becomes humbled by his own
arrogance. This piece, and a couple other of his pieces including one of his short novels, George
Silverman s Explanation and a poem classifying the rich, The Fine Old English Gentleman developed
a concept of social class. Throughout each of the three pieces, the social class is somehow brought up,
whether that being a short snippet, or the way it can change someone throughout the classifications of

Kamāl al Dīn Behzād (c.1450 c.1535), who served royal princes of Timurid (1370 1507) and Safavid
(1501 1736) dynasties, is one of the famous painters in Islamic world. Historical records and paintings
related to him are so numerous. From the beginning of 20th century, art historians challenged again
and again to define the style of his paintings and to attribute the non signed works to him. However,
the characteristics thought as Bihzād style are vague, so the re examination of his style is needed. In
this essay, I would like to re examine what is called Bihzād style , by comparing the Persian painting
with Chinese painting.

already seen in the 13th century. It would be more appropriate to see the works of Bihzād s figural
paintings rather than landscape paintings to define the Bihzād style. According to the one of the

Persian painting. The Chinese derived features of this painting (fig 1) mean, in this period, Persian
painters imitated the works of Chinese paintings. And by doing so, they gradually introduced some
traces of Chinese painting techniques to Persian painting. The influence of Chinese painting had great
impact before the Timurid dynasties, but according Sugimura, Persian painters started to borrowing
the physiognomy for the first time in this period. From his indication and the comparison between

1. The members of Charles Manson s cult family were Leslie Van Houten, Bobby Beausoleil, Paul
Watkins, Catherine Gypse Share, Mary Brunner, Susan Atkins, Linda Kasabain, Steve Grogan,

2. The 1960s was the decade of the Civil Rights Movement and of counterculture. The Civil Rights
Movement saw the rise of social groups, like the Black Panther Party, who had had enough of being
racially discriminated and would conduct boycotts, sit ins, and marches in order to support their cause.
Counterculture consisted of young people, known as hippies, who revolted against government
agendas like the Vietnam War, and who wanted to live in a society that was based upon freedom and
love. Manson believed that there would be a race war between blacks and whites and that black people
would come on top. It became evident to Manson that Helter Skelter, the last final destructive war
among men on the face of the earth, was not coming and it was up to him to create it. So, Manson took
advantage of the counterculture happening in the 60 s to led young people into believing the world
would go to war and the only way to survive is to stick together.
3. In an era that sought love and peace, Manson was able to successfully manipulate the emotions of
young people. Manson began his recruitment in the hippie ridden area of Haight Ashbury, San
Francisco. There, Manson was able to croon his way into the minds of the young and vulnerable.
Upon recruitment, Manson would tell his followers, while they were under the influence of LSD, to
essentially erase everything they know about society and fill their minds with his philosophies because
he was the embodiment of Jesus Christ. His followers did as he said because most of

Small arteries in diabetic patients experience changes due to increased atherosclerosis. Tissue
perfusion depends upon fasting plasma glucose and fasting insulin levels which are also dependent
upon how sensitive the patient is to the insulin. Increased permeability to large molecules such as
albumin is increased in diabetes, which can be associated with hyperglycemia (Levy, et al., 2008).
Studies have shown patients with type 2 diabetes experience decreased coronary flow which is related

disease (PVD) can cause thrombosis of the arteries causing tissue death. Gangrene from Diabetes
Mellitus (DM) can lead to amputations beginning in the toes and moving into the foot (Lemone,
Burke, Bauldoff, 2011).

As I read Fun Home, often reading chapters more than once, I had quite a few questions floating
around inside my head. Alison Bechdel dedicates her memoir to Mom, Christian, and John. We did
have a lot of fun, in spite of everything . I found it odd that she didn t include her father in this as well.
After all, without her father, she would not have had much of a story. He was the glue that held the
whole dysfunctional family together and it was his mysterious and depraved manner that compelled

Much of the story was given to personification of nature. Nature being so
close and dear to her was primarily expressed in her affection for the cow and the birds.
The author practically made the large tree in the story come alive. One statement says,

dear, enters her life as a desired lover. The romantic prose and ideas in the story illustrate

Social phobia may be presented differently by individuals of other cultures. Suk Choo
(1997) found that individuals from East Asian cultures develop anxiety related more to offending
others, compared with individuals from Western cultures, who develop anxiety related to fear of being
scrutinized by others. Culture and ethnicity are important variables in group therapy because they set
up norms and positions of power, and can both enhance and distance a group
(Gladding, 2012). Groups often replicate cultural norms members practice outside of the group.
Within the group, members can use their cultural differences to enhance group growth and
effectiveness, and apply what they have experienced and learned to their lives outside of group
(i.e., social microcosm; Gladding, 2012). Suggestions for future research to help increase social
microcosm include incorporating more males and cultural/ethic variations of group participants and
leaders, running groups specifically for ethnic minorities, and using non Western group therapies for
multicultural individuals with social phobia.

Who Is The Carpenter Family In superstar
The film Superstar , by Todd Haynes, tells a controversial rendition of Karen Carpenter s life story.
Through his depiction of the Carpenter family and of the stressful lifestyle of a performer, Haynes
shows the audience that although many mental illnesses, such as anorexia, are viewed as internally
driven, the root cause of these conditions is almost entirely external. Throughout the film, the
Carpenter family is characterized as an overprotective unit with very high and strict standards. For
example, the parents instituted certain policies such as making their children live at home until the age
