Habeas Corpus and the Use of Military Tribunals Essay
Habeas Corpus and the Use of Military Tribunals
In America Under the Threat of Terrorism
Introduction
It was on this date one hundred forty two years ago (April 25, 1861), that President Abraham Lincoln
sent a letter to Lt. General Winfield Scott authorizing the suspension of The Privilege of the Writ of
Habeas Corpus . Lincoln had been president for less than two months and was facing, what was up to
that time and arguably may still be the greatest threat to the survival of the United States since the
Founding Fathers launched this Great Experiment . Only eleven days earlier Major Robert Anderson,
the commander of the federal garrison at Fort Sumter, South Carolina, had to surrender the fort to the
Confederate Army. Lincoln was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the recent war on terrorism our government has moved to curtail and, in some cases, to deny
United States citizens their constitutional rights to due process. The delicate balance between the
fundamental right to the due process of law and national security is the focus of this research paper

Responding to abusive detention of persons without legal authority, public pressure on caused the
English Parliament to adopt the Habeas Corpus Act, 1679. This fundamental right against illegal
imprisonment was highly regarded by the British colonists in America as a safeguard of that it was

Freedom And African American History Essay
Freedom And African American History 1 XIN LI The United States is a immigrant country, which
faces varieties of problems. The African American problem is one of the most serious one. Racial
segregation is a deep rooted social problem, which reflects in every field in the United States. For
example, education, labor market and criminal justice system. In the aspect of education, most of
black children were not permitted to enter the school, because the white children studied there. In the
aspect of labor market, the black people s average wages were lower than the whites. They did the
manual work. In the aspect of criminal justice system, the blacks were easily in jail. Badly, their
sentences were also more serious than the whites. In general, the blacks live in the bottom of the
American society. Martin Luther King delivered the famous speech I Have a Dream, I have a dream
that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of
their skin but by the content of their character. (1) However, it was difficult for African American to
get the freedom. The 1776 Declaration of Independence announced that everyone are equal and
freedom. But black slavery still occurred in the southern states of America. Then the Civil War broke
out, African American kept struggling for land and political rights.

Ashes By Susan Beth Pfeffer Analysis
Whatever it was, it was dying by the time I was born, and before I turned six (Pfeffer, 2). The short
story Ashes was written by Susan Beth Pfeffer. The story is about Ashes and her relationship with her
dad and her mom. Ashes is in a problem when her dad asks her to borrow money from her mom.
Ashes is left with two options, either help her dad or her mom. Ashleigh did take the money because
she loves her dad, trusts her dad, and she is like her dad. Ashleigh took the money since she loves her
dad. Ashleigh loves how her dad says you re one in a million. I knew I wasn t a one in a million
girl,no matter how often Dad told me I was.I still loved hearing him say it (Pfeffer, 2). Ashes loves
how her dad makes her feel special whenever she sees him. In the story Ashes it says on the first page

me feel special all over again (Pfeffer). Ashes loves her dad since he is fun to be with. I wouldn t have

The Disease of Alcoholism Essay
The Disease of Alcoholism
Alcoholism is a primary, chronic disease with genetic, psychosocial, and environmental factors
influencing its development and manifestations. The disease is often progressive and fatal. Alcoholism
is a complex disease with physical, social and psychological consequences, but it can be treated
through detoxification and anti anxiety drugs. What will be explained in this essay is basically the
history of alcohol, signs of one possibly being an alcoholic, possibilities to why one becomes an
alcoholic, and treatments for it.
In the past, alcoholism was often viewed as a moral weakness or character flaw; it was thought that
the person could stop drinking if he or she really wanted to. It wasn t until 1970, with ... Show more

The APA manual distinguishes between alcoholism and alcohol abuse. The latter is a less severe
problem; unlike alcoholics, alcohol abusers do not develop physical withdrawal or compulsive alcohol
use. However, like alcoholics, their drinking has negative health, economic and social effects. Both
alcoholics and alcohol abusers need treatment, although the goals differ. In most cases of alcohol
abuse, the goal is to limit drinking, while for alcoholism, it is to stop drinking altogether.
Why some people become alcoholics remains a mystery, although most scientists now agree that a
combination of genetic and environmental factors increases a person s vulnerability.
Based on the results of Swedish adoption studies, some researchers divide alcoholism into two types.
Type I, the most common, occurs in both men and women and is associated with adult onset alcohol
dependence. This form, also known as milieu limited alcoholism, appears to be the result of genetic
predisposition and environmental provocation, according to NIAAA s 1991 publication Alcohol
Research: Promise for the Decade that is, the development of alcoholism in these cases is an
interaction between inherited predisposition and the person s life situations.
Type II, or male limited, alcoholism, on the other hand, is due mainly to genetics. It occurs only in
men, usually with early onset in the teen years, and is more difficult to

Cognitive Behavior Therapy And Ego Psychology
There are multiple theories that involve the success of a client s rehabilitation. Depending on the client
s needs, mental capacity, family support and resources all play a factor in which theories to implicate
in order to achieve the best outcome. Success of a theory can be determined based on the
improvements of the client from the beginning of the study to the end. There is no one particular
theory that is always guaranteed to work for each and every client. However, given multiple of focal
points allows a social worker the ability to combine and mix and match these theories to achieve an
accomplishment of their client s needs. The purpose of this paper is to identify and explain two
different theories. The history of each theory, how they work, what the focus of each would be and
how to apply them when appropriate. Also, another purpose of implementing a theory is gain a better
understanding of some client s problems. The theories I have chosen are Cognitive Behavior Therapy
(CBT) and Ego Psychology.

The Odyssey And Trojan Women
HOMER AND EURIPIDES DEAL WITH THE SAME THEMES BUT IN DIFFERENT WAYS
INTRO: Despite difference of around 400 years between them Greek poet Homer and tragedian
playwright Euripides explore many of the same themes in their works the Odyssey and Trojan Women
(written by each respectively). Both works are inspired by the events of 12th Century BCE Trojan War
that Homer previously explored in the Iliad. The two examine the worth of cunning over brute
strength, the dangers of temptation and the role of women in their respective time periods. Despite
having extremely similar central ideas, the techniques employed by each are markedly different. These
differences arise as the result of changes in socio historical contexts and format of each work s
presentation, for example the critical shift of the 5th century which saw the rise of sophistry and a
certain scepticism in regard to Athenian leadership and the very existence of the gods.
PARA ONE: Socio Historical Context
Homer s the Odyssey is an Epic poem written in the 8th Century BCE (the dark ages of Greece / the
geometric period). Euripides Trojan Women was written in 415 BCE, after the great plague of Athens
and the rise of sophistry. Both were written in Mycenaean Greece, and inspired by events of the fabled
12th Century Trojan War. Homer s purpose was to record the events, and provide entertainment for
audiences in an oratory form. Euripides wrote a play, intended to be performed for Athenian men, in a
competition.

Bill Clinton Impeach Essay
A controversial issue that occurred not too long ago would be the impeachment of former President
Bill Clinton. Clinton was impeached for having an inappropriate and unprofessional relationship with
Monic Lewinski. Lewinski served as Clinton s intern at The White House. The investigation to
impeach Clinton began in October 1998 and he was impeached in December 1998. However, Clinton
was spared removal from office after the Senate voted to acquit him in February 1999 (Clinton
Impeachment). The argument for Clinton needing to be impeached is that he lied in jury about his
relationship status as well as he obstructed justice to cover up the relationship. The argument against
Clinton needing to be impeached is the offense he is being charged with is not serious enough for

The people who did not support Clinton dismissed the argument that the American people voted for
Clinton not once but twice. This is shown here Supporters of impeachment also discounted arguments
by Clinton s defenders that removing Clinton from office would overturn the will of the electorate,
who twice had chosen him to be president (Clinton Impeachment). Despite the bad image Clinton
received, he still had a high approval rating from the American people. Another argument made to
impeach Clinton was that just because something is popular does not mean that it is right.
Representative J.C. Watts expressed this when he said What s popular isn t always right, I say we must
draw a line from right and wrong (Clinton Impeachment). The supporters of the impeachment
believed that the only way to be fair and show that no one is above the law is to impeach Clinton. The
last argument the supporters made was that the people could no longer trust Clinton to keep his word

Reasons For Acquisition Or Merger Of The Airlines Essay
Reasons for Acquisition or Merger of the Airlines
1) Capitalization
In the Airline industry, most of the capital goes to its Aircrafts. Aircrafts cost several millions of US
Dollars. It can be purchased brand new but usually it is bought as reconditioned units. Purchase can be
through installment or through lease. Even if the Company wants to serve more air routes, they are
limited by the number and capacity of the Aircraft they have. The Airline industry is in stiff
competition due to the parallel competition in Tourism. That is why every Airline company is
compelled to always upgrade and increase their Aircrafts or they will be pushed out of the market. If
the company lacks capital and investors to do so, they will forced to either sell part of their ownership
or sell its total control to Bigger and more stable companies.
In this case, Asian Spirit which only started as an Airline Cooperative, had limited and small aircrafts
and cannot expand its services to International flights. That is why they needed an Investor who can
materialize such essential development. And thus came, Mr. Alfredo Yao through his Holding
Company, AMY Holdings Inc. which bought total control of Asian Spirit from its founders. 2) Human
Resource
It takes number of years of training before an Airline personnel can be certified to board on an aircraft,
from its Captain down to its service crew. The success or failure of any Airline company lies in the
hands of their personnel on board

They knew the showdown had come.
Terrill entered the president s office and placed the stack of reports on his desk. The president and the
other senior executives looked bewildered.
This, Terrill announced, is the reason for the lack of productivity in the Sales Engineering division.
These are the reports your people require every month. The fact that they sat on my desk all month
shows that no one reads this material. I suggest that the engineers time could be used in a more
productive manner, and that one brief monthly report from my office will satisfy the needs of the other
departments.
Questions
1. Does John Terrill leadership style fit the definition of leadership. Explain.
Yes, Terrill shows his leadership qualities by listening to the engineers and concerns on the problem
facing by them that resulted poor productivity. Terrill is optimise that he can resolve the issue by
trying to influence top management by showing them that those unnecessary reports are wasting and
holding the engineers from focusing on the main objective of the department. Terrill has improved the
relationship with the engineer by changing the reporting procedure and gaining their trust as well. By
befriend with the engineer and using empowerment in his management, Terrill and his engineer should
be able to focus and achieve success together on their shared purpose of increasing the productivity of

Flamenco and the Spanish Culture
You can learn a lot about a country based on the music that s produced there. The music of Spain is
rich in both history and culture. Many different musical styles have originated from various locations
through Spain such as Flamenco from Andalusia, the Galician bagpipe music from Galicia and the
classical guitar music that originated throughout Spain in the early . Spanish music is very diverse and
reflects the large cultural differences between regions. The music of Spain has also had a large impact
on the music of western cultures.(Music of Spain). Flamenco is a form of Spanish folk music which
originated in Andalusia in the south of the country. This type of music as we know it today is a
spectacle which is made up for four different elements Cante Voice, Baile Dance, Toque Guitar, and
the Jaleo, which roughly translated means hell raising and involves hand clapping, foot stomping, and
encouraging shouts of the audience ( Flamenco History. ). However it was not always like this.
Flamenco was first recorded in the late 18th century and consisted of what the Spanish refer to as Palo
Secos, or dry styles.( Flamenco History. ). This was basicly singing or chanting accompanied only by
a rhythm beaten out on the floor by a wooden staff or cane. However the genre underwent a dramatic
development in the late 19th century and had become the spectacle that we know today. In the past
flamenco music was not very widespread outside the region of its origin. However in

William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream
Early in A Midsummer Night s Dream by William Shakespeare, the fascistic use of charm, Oberon s
ability to use incantations to unsettle Theseus early wish for perfect harmony (1.1.11 15) and control
wild forces such as nature, other fairies and mankind, foregrounds the play s action. Modeled after the
power of speech acts (utterances considered as actions, particularly in terms of its intention, purpose
or effect), the theatrical use of charm I propose here predominantly resides in the vocal chords of a
dictator (Oberon); that is, it can control, decisively affect and determine. Incantations are not physical
nor do they move. This essay, therefore, is interested in the illocutionary forces of Oberon s fascistic
incantations as opposed to his tangible or finite action. If we are to dislodge charm from the event of
its ephemeral potential and meditate, alternatively, on the spoken dimensionality of fascism, what can
charm come to mean? I argue that Shakespeare a talented poet and expert in literary and dramatic
composition invokes Oberon, a manipulative and magic fascist, to augment the power of charm by
providing him with the utmost control. Oberon s recurring charms and their deep affinity to the music
of Shakespeare s poetry thus intensify a fairyland in which supernatural chaos along with mankind
mingle in a given to be seen and highly contested dictatorial regime, so as to conceivably emphasize
the theoretical indoctrination process we call fascism, thus warranting

Implement Person Centred Approaches in Health and Social Care
Unit 4222 207
Implement person centred approaches in health and social care
1.1 Person centred values are guides on how individuals are treated. These values are: * Dignity
supporting individuals to maintain emotional control and supporting individuals with sensitive
situations. * Respect recognising an individual s sense of worth and importance to others. * Privacy
making sure individuals rights is maintained. * Individuality recognising an individual as an
individual.
1.2 It is important to work in a way that embeds person centred values this is because you then include
the individual in activities and allowing them to make choices. People with disabilities should be seen
as equal partners and not people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example a carer getting the client to undress themselves rather than the carer doing it for them.
This gets the individual involved in the task and it also maximise their independence. The individual
will become more confident in themselves as they know they can now do the task. This will make
them determined to do other tasks.
You encourage the individual by finding out what their personal history is, likes and dislikes. This will
play an important part in active participation. By taking the person centred approach to care means
you are looking for ways to meet the individual s needs and wishes. This is very different to a service
approach because you cannot get an individual to fit in if they don t fit in. By making the individual fit
in will make the individual unhappy and the individual may want to fight back because they are not
happy.
4.2 Barriers to active participation are: * The carer can lack understanding of the individual s personal
history, health and cognitive status and social abilities. * The carer may view the person as a passive
recipient of care who is always dependent on others. * The carer may be not committed to making the
active participation approach work. * The carer may lack patience and tenacity when pursuing active
participation goals. * The carer may have low expectations of the person s ability to develop, change
and achieve.

How Did Geography Affect Where Colonists Settled Essay
Beginning in 1607, when ambitious English colonists settled in Jamestown, and continuing until the
last of the thirteen colonies was established; geography was a substantial factor in the development of
colonial America. The crops that essentially saved the colonists lives, such as tobacco, rice, and
indigo, wouldn t have grown without a certain type and amount of soil to grow properly. Also, the
Appalachian Mountains and the dense forests provided a barrier for the colonists, preventing them
from going too far west right away, and causing the colonies to form in the arrangement they did.

This, in turn, made it so that the population were more dense, and there was a higher concentration of
people. The dense forests of the eastern seaboard disallowed for large cities to be created right away.
This geological factor forced colonists to spread out within the perimeters of the Appalachian
Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, without being too close together. Both of these factors could be
overlooked easily enough, but did have a reasonable impact of the development of colonial America.
Finally, the geography of the middle colonies, such as New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and
Pennsylvania played a big role on the development and population of this area. In the sixteen and
seventeen hundreds, the above colonies were the most populated of the thirteen establishments. There
was plentiful and fertile soil, in which tobacco was heavily grown. The Susquehanna River also
flowed through this region, opening the possibility of fur trade. Other minor rivers that were found in
the middle colonies were gentle, which provided for easy transportation and fishing. The land in the
middle colonies was broad and expansive, making it easy for even the middle class residents to create
an enjoyable and profitable lifestyle. In conclusion, there were many factors that contributed to the
development of the colonial America, but geography was clearly a sizable influence. If the geography
of America wasn t the way it was, the colonists who settled here may have not survived as

Analyzing Willa Cather s My Antonia
Willa Cather really didn t want me to read her letters. And she was hoping you would mind your own
business . This comment stuck out to me so much because it was able to open many different points of
view on My Antonia . We have been briefly discussing what this letter from which this story was
pulled from meant to us. With much of the newly found knowledge this book just got more interesting.
In the upcoming paragraphs I will explain more of what I interpreted.
A very important piece of information that I was given from the second section of this letter was that
Willa Cather did not have a sexuality that fit into the social norm. I believe that her writing this book
was somehow an outlet to let her inner feelings free. In her writing she did not have to be limited like
most women at the time. If you read between the lines in My Antonia you will most likely find
similarities that Cather could not easily show in her day to day life. One ... Show more content on

No matter her experience her voice would not be heard due mainly to her gender. As she takes on the
view of the story of a young male her voice is noticed. Many of the themes in the story tie in with
where and when Cather grew up. For all we know one or more of the stories might have actually
occurred. Yet we can only come to the conclusion that she did in fact know first hand what the west
was like.
Another role in this book that must be looked at was the theme of immigration. How exactly would
Cather know the struggles of immigrants? I don t exactly know but I can guess it was mainly made up
of acquaintances she meet throughout her life. Also the fact that America was at its prime. As it was
the pioneer era which told others of the exciting opportunities. I can assume that Cather ran into many
immigrants and saw their struggle which inspired her to include in her writing. Either way she was
somewhat knowledgeable on what they

Criticism In Mariette Lippo s Confirmation Names
In Confirmation Names, Mariette Lippo describes a group of girls choosing their patron saints.
Through the use of irony and syntax, the author scorns the Catholic Church s treatment towards
adolescent girls and the standards they are held under. However, when using a feminist criticism,
Lippo s disdain turns into anger towards society, not just the Catholic faith alone. When under an
archetypal criticism, the piece focuses more on the religious stereotypes of the harsh, reserved nun and
the classic rebellious Catholic schoolgirls, and thus provokes a sense of pity for the girls and an
automatic cringe worthy distaste for the nuns. Both the close reading and literary criticisms produce
new tones and shed different lights on the conflicting aspects of Confirmation Names. Initially,
Confirmation Names explains the process behind confirmation names for young Catholic girls.
However, through the use of language and literary devices, Lippo clearly presents a defiant tone
towards the way young girls are restricted in the Catholic faith. Lippo strategically addresses each
young girl in a new paragraph, reflecting Catholic nuns tones toward each young girl s vice. However,
though Lippo introduces the nuns sentiments in her piece, she also provides a sense of defiant
solidarity for the young girls by using the inclusive words we and us when interjecting herself into the
narration We studied the saints... (Lippo 1), and None of us, of course, chose Magdalen... (Lippo

Descriptive Adjectives
Analysis of Descriptive Adjectives in Two Stories
In any story, the reader needs some way of imagining what the author is writing about. When writing,
authors use descriptive words to illustrate what they are trying to convey to the reader and to enhance
their story. In the stories The Treasure of Lemon Brown by Walter Dean Myers and The House of the
Scorpion by Nancy Farmer, both authors use descriptive words to develop the mood of the setting and
the characters. In The Treasure of Lemon Brown, Myers uses descriptive words to describe the setting,
characters, and also the mood. He used such words in a scene from the story where the main character,
Greg, is walking down an empty street and is looking for shelter from a thunderstorm. The phrase,
Graffiti scarred building...grim shadows. is used to describe the buildings around him. These words
are used to set up the depressed or ominous mood of the setting, by using words such as scarred and
grim. Those particular words cause it to seem as though the graffiti is old and permanent, as if the
neighborhood has been this way for a while, and will remain that way: gloomy and depressed.
Furthermore, Myers uses these descriptive words to describe Lemon Brown when he writes, His
black, heavily wrinkled face was surrounded by a halo of crinkly white hair and whiskers that seemed
to separate his head from the layers of dirty coats piled on his small frame. From this the reader can
tell that this is an aged man, who is

Who is against fluoride being added to water and Why
Who is against fluoride being added to water and Why
This report investigates about water fluoridation, and its effects and why it is added to water. Water
fluoridation is a process where fluoride is added to public drinking water. The main purpose of this is
to reduce tooth decay. The dosage that is added to the water is paramount to stopping tooth decay. This
process can only be achieved by physically adding the fluoride to the drinking water. When the
fluoridated water is drunk it acts on the surface of the teeth building up the enamel. It also leaves low
levels of fluoride in the saliva. This also reduces the decaying rate of the teeth. This practice is
common among developed countries. This is where the rate of tooth decay is high. ... Show more

Strengthening bones
Some studies show that fluoride is one of the minerals that is required to build up strong bones. When
fluoride is used correctly, it increases the rate in which the bones grow and makes them stronger.
While the use of fluoride is beneficial, we cannot ignore the harmful effects of using fluoride.
Uncontrolled fluoride intake can be very counter reproductive and sometimes lead to chronic
conditions that change your lifestyle.
Why unions and civil societies are against of adding fluoride in water
The practice is unethical
Doctors and other medical personnel see added doses of fluoride to drinking water, as a malpractice.
This is because medical ethics do not allow for any administration of drugs without the consent of the
patient or a proper diagnosis. In addition, the practice also gives fluoride to people who do not need it.
Not everyone is affected by tooth decay, however the system does not choose whom to give the dose
and whom to skip. This leads to accumulation of fluoride in the blood system, which can lead to life
threatening conditions.
The dose cannot be controlled
People take different amounts of water making. This makes it difficult to regulate the dose taken by
one person. In addition, fluoride is not meant to be ingested into the body, rather it is meant to be used
on the surface of teeth. Athletes and those with diabetes will take more water than ordinary people
will. This makes there fluoride intake more than the

Rick Warren The Purpose Driven Live Analysis
The main message of Rick Warren the purpose driven life is to help believers understand the larger

The novel talked a lot about how Jesus had saved us, and how to create a better relationship with him.
Law and gospel go hand and hand, you can not have one without the other. I feel that this is the case
for this book, a whole lot of gospel and a lot less law. The most major reference to the law in the book
was satan and the sin he causes in the world. The punishment of not having Jesus in her life is never
discussed and what happens if you are a non believer. I understand that this novel is directed at an
audience that is familiar and have a relationships with Jesus Christ, but I feel that law should still be
present. Throughout the book, there are a few quotes that make me take a second look. On page 58,
Warren writes Jesus will give you everything you need to live for him. This is just one of many quotes

Bible never says anything about Jesus making one s life easy. I feel that this quote is trying to say your

Online Gambling Enforcement Act Of 2006
Back in 1996, the explosion of online casino gambling swept the world. The United States had been a
large part of this, and many gamblers had turned to online casinos for all of their gaming. For many
years, these casinos continued to be played unabated. Unfortunately, back in 2006, legislation was
passed that made it slightly difficult for online casinos to continue to operate. This legislation, sneaked
in by piggyback through the Safe Port Act, would be named the Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act, and it became a thorn in the side of the online gambler, the online casino, and all
payment processors there in.
The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, or the UIGEA, had, in a nutshell,
prohibited banks and payment processors from processing transactions that would correlate to online
gambling. This has not only complicated loading accounts, but also withdrawing. While USA online
casinos have continued to operate, they have had to use payment processors that would circumvent
these restrictions. Sadly, the UIGEA was not even set to go into effect until December of 2009,
thought the implications of the legislation had fall out that would be nothing short of catastrophic for
many online gambling companies, especially those that relied heavily on the United States market.
The UIGEA had hamstrung many of the operations around the world that utilized the American
market in order to stay ahead in profits, all the while keeping losses to a low. The

The Federal Republic Of Germany
The Federal Republic of Germany is part of the EU (European Union). Its capital is the beautiful and
globally famous city of Berlin. It is composed by the union of 16 individual states, where people have
the freedom of religion, press and free market economy. Germany has a long history, this town, just as
the majority of all the European towns, was established during the Roman Empire. More than 200
years ago, the north and west regions of Europe were filled with Germanic tribes, and even though
Julio Caesar pushed the limits of the Roman Empire to the east of the Rhine river, the Romans were
not able to conquered that region nor north Danube, which is now known today as the beautiful
country of Germany. In 1949, the German Federal Republic became a constitutional, parliamentary
democracy. Since its reunification in 1990, the country has been composed of 16 federal states.
After having a four hour conversation via FaceTime with a dear German friend, whom I had the
privilege of meeting back in 2013 when I first visited Germany, I summarized as much as I was able
to the history of this precious country. It was not easy due to a lot of important events that happened
but here is my summary: On November 4 of 1918, the German revolution took place with about
40,000 marines that invaded the port of Kiel. Three years later, on November 1921, the
Sturmabteilung aka SA was formally formed by Adolf Hitler. On November of 1923, an army coup
organized by Hitler failed, but again in 1938,

The Importance Of Managing Time
The semester goal this year was to go from a 2.75 GPA to a 3.4 GPA. While trying to maintain this
average, students should know that they will need to study more frequently by using the school
resources such as the CLC and the library area to stay more focused. By having confidence, knowing
how to manage time, and communicating with he or she professors, students should pass easily by
doing these things. But first, let s talk about confidence. When students go to class they seem to not
pay attention at all, maybe because, it s either early in the morning or the course is just too long and
they just lose interest. But most of the time, it s because they don t have enough confidence within

The point of this situation is basically don t be the one to always come with excuses. Excuses just
states people work ethic. Which brings up managing time again, basically stating that if Roth s student
put more effort into his work, he would ve been notified based on his work performance and not no
one who just going through the motions. Another thing students should do, so he or she won t miss
any assignments, is to communicate with the professors. By communicating with the professors, that
will let them know that their students want to succeed and they will want to help more often by
making up their own study sessions and giving students study guides on what should be on the tests
they take. But, what about the students with jobs? Students with jobs should always have their
professors email just in case they can t make it to class, that way the professor can excuse them from
class. But while communicating with your professors, students should still keep going to the CLC area
and library because it helps them stay focused and they will get the help they need in order to pass.
Also they have a lot of resources, like books for English or literature class, calculators for math, and
most importantly computers so students can do their homework without having an excuse. Based on
these three tips and the book Bernard Roth wrote, the best decision is to go to the CLC and library to

mind preferring selecting public care. But with copayment health insurance, consumers pay the lower

people seek better quality of services which is provided by privatized health care. So, Its demand

The Navajo People Are The Largest Native American Tribe
The Navajo people are the largest Native American tribe in the United States, now with over 300,000
members. They are native to a large chunk of Southwestern United States, mostly in New Mexico and
Arizona, but also partially in Utah and Colorado. It was sometime between 1100 1500 A.D. when a
distinguishable Navajo culture began to appear. The first Western contact that is known with the
Navajo occurred near 1581 1583 A.D. Historians believe that the Navajo were relatively peaceful with
their new Spanish neighbors. However there were some times over the centuries after the Spanish
settlement in which the Navajo fought Spanish settlers to retain their land.
The Navajo s first contact with the United States came during the Mexican American War. The area
where the Navajo lived was seen as a strategic area for the United States military. Troops were
therefore brought to Navajo land to form treaties with them. Both sides more or less ignored these
treaties. Navajo groups and New Mexican settlers would often clash. The United States government
began mobilizing troops to New Mexico, and proceeded to establish military bases there. This initially
established a precedence that the government could take advantage of the Navajo people. For the most
part, the Navajo wanted to avoid any conflict, and the United States government chose to exploit this.

Pros And Cons Of Bruichladdich
Bruichladdich is no stranger to No Age Statement whisky. In fact over the past ten or twelve years

first viewed by the distillery as a necessary maneuver in order to get whisky on the shelves throughout

Considering how fundamentally opposed I am to the idea of opaque marketing with whisky, I imagine
it s somewhat surprising (even to myself, if I m to be honest) how much I adore and support
Bruichladdich.
Let s face it...no other distillery has done as much to reinvigorate the whisky world over the last few
years as Bruichladdich. They ve pushed hard for higher bottling strengths first 46% as a standard, and
now 50%. They ve foregone artificial colouring. They ve made a mockery of the concept of chill

simplistic as we have several different aspects that compose who each of us are. Einfeld says it best

could get into heaven through just good deeds, but he addresses this in verses 24 25 saying Him who
is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with
great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and

s Attitude Of The Character Of Voltaire And Voltaire
Of all of the disciplines mankind has invented, such as mathematics, the arts and sciences, none is
more fundamental than philosophy. Philosophy is the most basic and fundamental disciple in that it
asks the question of why . Why am I here? Why do I exist? Do I exist? What is my purpose? Why do I
act this way? Why do others act that way?
Beyond philosophy, all of the other art science disciplines simply are there to fill in the details about
life.
Throughout human history, mankind has wondered these questions and developed an ever refining
system of honing the skills needed for teasing out the true answers to these questions. Two such
philosophers are Socrates and Voltaire. One was alive during what might be considered the golden age
of philosophical thought; 4th century b.c. Greece. Voltaire, 17th century Paris. In this essay I will
compare and contrast Socrates attitude of the importance of philosophy to the Good Brahmin fictional
character of Voltaire.
Socrates was one of the founding fathers of the discipline of philosophy. He made it his job . He saw it
as a tool to improve the lives of Athens citizens. He understood that people are naturally good and
only do bad things out of ignorance or misunderstanding. He believed that by using logic and reson,
people can make moral choices and therefore live a better life. For him Philosophy was a tool to use
for learning and teaching.
One of his allegories is that of the Cave. In it, he describes how man starts

The Act Of Selfishness In Ayn Rand s Sleepy Hollow
The act of selfishness is painted all over the story. This can be seen with our very own Ichabod Crane,
with him being selfish toward his relationship with Katrina wherein he did not truly love her, but
desired her father s wealth instead. In fact, it was in his plans to sell off the Van Tassel family s farm
once he d gotten married to Katrina. While it s true that he would help around the places he stayed in
and make the old wives happy, he did these things for his own benefit. He only worked to make his
hosts happy enough to feed him as much food as he wanted, not as a kind deed or as a way to show his
gratitude for letting him stay with them. Even as he left Sleepy Hollow, he did not bother to come
back to what he had left behind, but continued on his way as if the village had never existed. If he had
truly loved Katrina, or cared about the children he taught, or those housewives he ate with, he would
have come back, wouldn t he? It seems like he just moved on to the next house of whoever would feed
him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I say so because he thinks only of himself and his own desires. He had no good thought for Ichabod
and leeched off of his fears and worries. We all know that he did this to humiliate Ichabod in order to
capture Katrina s heart by making her believe that Ichabod was a weak coward and that he, Brom
Bones, was manly and powerful. Furthermore, he would constantly play pranks on the people of the
village (like he did to Ichabod), not caring about how they felt or what the effects of his actions were.
Believe it or not, the dainty Katrina who is the love interest of our two main men, was self centred as
well! I mean... in her own way. She practically used Ichabod to make Bones jealous! It kind of makes
you think: who truly loved

The Yellow And A Cold Blue Color
There is a glass door reflecting a soft yellow and a cold blue color. A heavy music is playing in the
background, releasing terror upon every motion. Across the corridor, a piano is opened which may be
the reason of the eerie noise. Two people are sitting on the opposite sides of a rectangular table facing
each other. It is dark, only one chandelier is releasing a subtle yellow light between them. The person
on the left is covered in a black outfit. He is covered in a black mask and has leather gloves on his
hands. The person on the right is The Weeknd with his familiar dreadlock hair. After slamming shut
his fiery cigarette lighter, the masked person gently tightens his glove. Knowing it is his last chance to
save his life, The Weeknd tries to escape from the zip ties holding his hands and legs firmly onto the
chair. Consequent booms of high pitched sounds accompany the mysterious man as he stealthily walks
towards The Weeknd. He harshly covers his head with a transparent plastic bag. The Weeknd tries to
breathe, but his breath is trapped and creates a blur in the plastic. A few seconds after a horrific
struggle, The Weeknd is left lifeless; he is lying on the floor covered with the plastic that reflects his
frozen eyes. As the villain uncovers his mask, we see it is The Weeknd this time his hair is shorter. As
he proceeds through the hallway admiring several portraits and awards that the previous Weeknd has
accomplished, a cross hanging on the end of the wall catches his

The Rise Of Ludwig Van Beethoven
The rise of Ludwig van Beethoven into the ranks of history s greatest composers was paralleled by
and in some ways a consequence of his own personal tragedy and despair. Beginning in the late 1790
s, the increasing buzzing and humming in his ears sent Beethoven into a panic, searching for a cure
from doctor to doctor. By October 1802 he had written the Heiligenstadt Testament confessing the
certainty of his growing deafness, his consequent despair, and suicidal considerations. Yet, despite the
personal tragedy caused by the infirmity in the one sense which ought to be more perfect in [him] than
in others, a sense which [he] once possessed in the highest perfection, a perfection such as few in [his]
profession enjoy, it also served as a motivating force in that it challenged him to try and conquer the
fate that was handed him. He would not surrender to that jealous demon, my wretched health before
proving to himself and the world the extent of his skill. Thus, faced with su!ch great impending loss,
Beethoven, keeping faith in his art and ability, states in his Heiligenstadt Testament a promise of his
greatness yet to be proven in the development of his heroic style. By about 1800, Beethoven was
mastering the Viennese High Classic style. Although the style had been first perfected by Mozart,
Beethoven did extend it to some degree. He had unprecedently composed sonatas for the cello which
in combination with the piano opened the era of the

What Are The Ethical Issues In Journalism
Journalism is both old and new. The profession has been around for hundreds of years, but it is always
changing and reinventing itself. With these changes, the question of what is right and what is wrong is
not always clear, but journalists still must attempt to answer those questions.
Reporters, editors and anyone else practicing journalism must be held to a high standard of ethics
across the board. Journalists owe it to the public to practice this high standard of reporting, as
journalists work to serve the public.
Listed below are several principles a journalist must keep in mind when practicing journalism in order
to be ethical.
Always tell the truth
The most basic skill required to be a good journalist is to have the capability to ... Show more content

The public that those reporters serve deserves to have a complete knowledge of a situation.
Show compassion when needed
Journalists may come across topics that are emotionally straining and difficult to cover, such as a
person s death or a natural disaster. In their coverage, journalists may choose to interview people who
are still reeling from such a tragedy. If they choose to do this, journalists must remember to be
courteous to their sources while also maintaining a professional boundary. Take the sources protection
into consideration. Make it clear that you are a reporter. Explain why their comments could be
valuable to the story.
Be independent from all
The sources do not write the story, the reporter does. If a source tries to stop a fact from going into
print or being broadcasted on the evening news, try to understand why that source would want that.
Could the fact harm their career if it is made public? Could the fact coming to light make way for
helpful reforms to a broken system? Is sharing the fact libelous? High ranking newsroom employees,
such as a desk editor or news director, should be involved in this debate and analysis of the sources
request with the reporter. News outlets have the right editorial independence.
Journalists must also be wary of sources who are trying to use them to get a story published the way
they want it. Reporters should always have some level of skepticism when

Red Giants Research Paper

Red Giants
Red giants are dying stars that are in their last part of stellar evolution. Every star will eventually turn
into a red giant over some point in time. Stars turn into red giants when there is no more hydrogen fuel
for the star. Inside of a star, hydrogen goes through a process called nuclear fusion where hydrogen is
getting converted into helium. Nuclear fusion helps create energy for the star so that the force of
gravity isn t crushing the star together. This is also the reason why stars are bright. When the star runs
out of hydrogen to convert into helium, the energy that kept the star from collapsing is now gone.
Gravity then takes over and compresses the star. From this point, the helium atoms are able to
combine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are very luminous stars that have a relatively cool surface temperature compared to the stars in
the main sequence that have about the same luminosity. Red giants typically have low to intermediate
mass than a regular star, even though they are about 1000 times larger in the red giant phase of stellar
evolution. Red supergiants are known as the biggest stars by radius. The biggest red supergiant is
mentioned as VY Canis Majoris. This star is about 1800 times bigger than our sun. Although there are
plenty of red giants in space, none of them are that close to us. The closest red giant is Gamma Crucis
(88 light years away).3
We do not have to worry about the world ending due to the sun becoming a red giant anytime in our
lifetime, but plenty of them are out there. Red giants are a very interesting part in stellar evolution as
we have gained lots of knowledge about them over history. Our knowledge of these stars helps us
understand stars and their stellar evolution that much more.

Anna Akhmatova Courage
Anna Akhmatova
Courage: Great Russian word, fit for the songs of our children s children, pure on their tongues, and
free (Anna Akhmatova). This line stated by Anna Akhmatova shows that courage was a strong word to
the Russian people during that time. Anna was a famous poet in Russia who wasn t afraid to stand up
for herself and her beliefs. For years she fought for rights under Stalin s rule for the rights of poetry to
be free and unrestricted. Anna Akhmatova s captivating poetry expresses the environmental factors of
St.Petersburg, her involvement in the Acmeism movement and to her bad experience(s) under Stalin s
rule.
St.Petersburg has been an influence to Anna Akhmatova since she sparked an interest in poetry;
starting in her teens. The city was often used as a thematic role in her poetry, and it gave insight on her
home life. Being born into an aristocratic family being a writer was not the ideal career and is why she
had to take a pen name to not shame her family s name. Often she used her beliefs, religious references
and her spiritual beliefs in her poems. Her interest in 19th century prose lead her to follow in the

Stalin s restrictions on literature were widely felt throughout Russia causing an uproar of responses
and backlash. Her writings went against all government beliefs which caused political indifference.
Anna s poetry was an outcast to what was considered normal in Russian literature during that time.
Due to being pushed into The Union of Soviet Writers in 1934 her and many others were silenced
until Stalin s death. These events led to many themes in her poems often representing a woman who
had to experience struggles similar to what was happening under Stalin s rule. Her family greatly
affected under his rule causing her son to be arrested and her husband being accused of going against

The African American problem is one of the most serious one. Racial segregation is a deep rooted social problem, which reflects in every field in the United States. For example, education, labor market and criminal justice system. In the aspect of education, most of black children were not permitted to enter the school, because the white children studied there. In the aspect of labor market, the black people s average wages were lower than the whites. They did the manual work. In the aspect of criminal justice system, the blacks were easily in jail. Badly, their sentences were also more serious than the whites. In general, the blacks live in the bottom of the American society. Martin Luther King delivered the famous speech I Have a Dream, I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The APA manual distinguishes between alcoholism and alcohol abuse. The latter is a less severe problem; unlike alcoholics, alcohol abusers do not develop physical withdrawal or compulsive alcohol use. However, like alcoholics, their drinking has negative health, economic and social effects. Both alcoholics and alcohol abusers need treatment, although the goals differ. In most cases of alcohol abuse, the goal is to limit drinking, while for alcoholism, it is to stop drinking altogether. Why some people become alcoholics remains a mystery, although most scientists now agree that a combination of genetic and environmental factors increases a person s vulnerability. Based on the results of Swedish adoption studies, some researchers divide alcoholism into two types. Type I, the most common, occurs in both men and women and is associated with adult onset alcohol dependence. This form, also known as milieu limited alcoholism, appears to be the result of genetic predisposition and environmental provocation, according to NIAAA s 1991 publication Alcohol Research: Promise for the Decade that is, the development of alcoholism in these cases is an interaction between inherited predisposition and the person s life situations. Type II, or male limited, alcoholism, on the other hand, is due mainly to genetics. It occurs only in men, usually with early onset in the teen years, and is more difficult to ... • 10. The Odyssey And Trojan Women HOMER AND EURIPIDES DEAL WITH THE SAME THEMES BUT IN DIFFERENT WAYS INTRO: Despite difference of around 400 years between them Greek poet Homer and tragedian playwright Euripides explore many of the same themes in their works the Odyssey and Trojan Women (written by each respectively). Both works are inspired by the events of 12th Century BCE Trojan War that Homer previously explored in the Iliad. The two examine the worth of cunning over brute strength, the dangers of temptation and the role of women in their respective time periods. Despite having extremely similar central ideas, the techniques employed by each are markedly different. These differences arise as the result of changes in socio historical contexts and format of each work s presentation, for example the critical shift of the 5th century which saw the rise of sophistry and a certain scepticism in regard to Athenian leadership and the very existence of the gods. PARA ONE: Socio Historical Context Homer s the Odyssey is an Epic poem written in the 8th Century BCE (the dark ages of Greece / the geometric period). Euripides Trojan Women was written in 415 BCE, after the great plague of Athens and the rise of sophistry. Both were written in Mycenaean Greece, and inspired by events of the fabled 12th Century Trojan War. Homer s purpose was to record the events, and provide entertainment for audiences in an oratory form. Euripides wrote a play, intended to be performed for Athenian men, in a competition. ... Despite the bad image Clinton received, he still had a high approval rating from the American people. Another argument made to impeach Clinton was that just because something is popular does not mean that it is right. Representative J.C. Watts expressed this when he said What s popular isn t always right, I say we must draw a line from right and wrong (Clinton Impeachment). Aircrafts cost several millions of US Dollars. It can be purchased brand new but usually it is bought as reconditioned units. Purchase can be through installment or through lease. Even if the Company wants to serve more air routes, they are limited by the number and capacity of the Aircraft they have. The Airline industry is in stiff competition due to the parallel competition in Tourism. That is why every Airline company is compelled to always upgrade and increase their Aircrafts or they will be pushed out of the market. If the company lacks capital and investors to do so, they will forced to either sell part of their ownership or sell its total control to Bigger and more stable companies. In this case, Asian Spirit which only started as an Airline Cooperative, had limited and small aircrafts and cannot expand its services to International flights. That is why they needed an Investor who can materialize such essential development. And thus came, Mr. Alfredo Yao through his Holding Company, AMY Holdings Inc. which bought total control of Asian Spirit from its founders. 2) Human Resource It takes number of years of training before an Airline personnel can be certified to board on an aircraft, from its Captain down to its service crew. Flamenco is a form of Spanish folk music which originated in Andalusia in the south of the country. This type of music as we know it today is a spectacle which is made up for four different elements Cante Voice, Baile Dance, Toque Guitar, and the Jaleo, which roughly translated means hell raising and involves hand clapping, foot stomping, and encouraging shouts of the audience ( Flamenco History. ). However it was not always like this. Flamenco was first recorded in the late 18th century and consisted of what the Spanish refer to as Palo Secos, or dry styles.( Flamenco History. ). This was basicly singing or chanting accompanied only by a rhythm beaten out on the floor by a wooden staff or cane. However the genre underwent a dramatic development in the late 19th century and had become the spectacle that we know today. In the past flamenco music was not very widespread outside the region of its origin. However in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Do you think there could be any connection between the shingles as a boy and these stabbing pains that he has been having overall these years Could the nerve have been damaged Answer The location of the pain certainly makes one think of shingles. Since the virus that causes shingles remains permanently in those nerves, it seems possible to me that some kind of chronic neuritis is possible. There is no true cure for this virus, though outbreaks can sometimes be helped by gamma globulin or immune sera from people with chickenpox or some antiviral drugs. • 18. William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream Early in A Midsummer Night s Dream by William Shakespeare, the fascistic use of charm, Oberon s ability to use incantations to unsettle Theseus early wish for perfect harmony (1.1.11 15) and control wild forces such as nature, other fairies and mankind, foregrounds the play s action. Modeled after the power of speech acts (utterances considered as actions, particularly in terms of its intention, purpose or effect), the theatrical use of charm I propose here predominantly resides in the vocal chords of a dictator (Oberon); that is, it can control, decisively affect and determine. Incantations are not physical nor do they move. This essay, therefore, is interested in the illocutionary forces of Oberon s fascistic incantations as opposed to his tangible or finite action. If we are to dislodge charm from the event of its ephemeral potential and meditate, alternatively, on the spoken dimensionality of fascism, what can charm come to mean? I argue that Shakespeare a talented poet and expert in literary and dramatic composition invokes Oberon, a manipulative and magic fascist, to augment the power of charm by providing him with the utmost control. Oberon s recurring charms and their deep affinity to the music of Shakespeare s poetry thus intensify a fairyland in which supernatural chaos along with mankind mingle in a given to be seen and highly contested dictatorial regime, so as to conceivably emphasize the theoretical indoctrination process we call fascism, thus warranting ... You encourage the individual by finding out what their personal history is, likes and dislikes. This will play an important part in active participation. By taking the person centred approach to care means you are looking for ways to meet the individual s needs and wishes. This is very different to a service approach because you cannot get an individual to fit in if they don t fit in. By making the individual fit in will make the individual unhappy and the individual may want to fight back because they are not happy. 4.2 Barriers to active participation are: * The carer can lack understanding of the individual s personal history, health and cognitive status and social abilities. * The carer may view the person as a passive recipient of care who is always dependent on others. * The carer may be not committed to making the active participation approach work. * The carer may lack patience and tenacity when pursuing active participation goals. * The carer may have low expectations of the person s ability to develop, change and achieve. 5.3 A workers personal views should not influence an ... How Did Geography Affect Where Colonists Settled Essay Beginning in 1607, when ambitious English colonists settled in Jamestown, and continuing until the last of the thirteen colonies was established; geography was a substantial factor in the development of colonial America. The crops that essentially saved the colonists lives, such as tobacco, rice, and indigo, wouldn t have grown without a certain type and amount of soil to grow properly. Also, the Appalachian Mountains and the dense forests provided a barrier for the colonists, preventing them from going too far west right away, and causing the colonies to form in the arrangement they did. This, in turn, made it so that the population were more dense, and there was a higher concentration of people. The dense forests of the eastern seaboard disallowed for large cities to be created right away. This geological factor forced colonists to spread out within the perimeters of the Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, without being too close together. Both of these factors could be overlooked easily enough, but did have a reasonable impact of the development of colonial America. Finally, the geography of the middle colonies, such as New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania played a big role on the development and population of this area. In the sixteen and seventeen hundreds, the above colonies were the most populated of the thirteen establishments. There was plentiful and fertile soil, in which tobacco was heavily grown. The Susquehanna River also flowed through this region, opening the possibility of fur trade. Other minor rivers that were found in the middle colonies were gentle, which provided for easy transportation and fishing. The land in the middle colonies was broad and expansive, making it easy for even the middle class residents to create an enjoyable and profitable lifestyle. This comment stuck out to me so much because it was able to open many different points of view on My Antonia . We have been briefly discussing what this letter from which this story was pulled from meant to us. With much of the newly found knowledge this book just got more interesting. In the upcoming paragraphs I will explain more of what I interpreted. A very important piece of information that I was given from the second section of this letter was that Willa Cather did not have a sexuality that fit into the social norm. I believe that her writing this book was somehow an outlet to let her inner feelings free. In her writing she did not have to be limited like most women at the time. Yet we can only come to the conclusion that she did in fact know first hand what the west was like. Another role in this book that must be looked at was the theme of immigration. How exactly would Cather know the struggles of immigrants? I don t exactly know but I can guess it was mainly made up of acquaintances she meet throughout her life. • 23. Criticism In Mariette Lippo s Confirmation Names In Confirmation Names, Mariette Lippo describes a group of girls choosing their patron saints. Through the use of irony and syntax, the author scorns the Catholic Church s treatment towards adolescent girls and the standards they are held under. However, when using a feminist criticism, Lippo s disdain turns into anger towards society, not just the Catholic faith alone. When under an archetypal criticism, the piece focuses more on the religious stereotypes of the harsh, reserved nun and the classic rebellious Catholic schoolgirls, and thus provokes a sense of pity for the girls and an automatic cringe worthy distaste for the nuns. Both the close reading and literary criticisms produce new tones and shed different lights on the conflicting aspects of Confirmation Names. Initially, Confirmation Names explains the process behind confirmation names for young Catholic girls. However, through the use of language and literary devices, Lippo clearly presents a defiant tone towards the way young girls are restricted in the Catholic faith. Lippo strategically addresses each young girl in a new paragraph, reflecting Catholic nuns tones toward each young girl s vice. However, though Lippo introduces the nuns sentiments in her piece, she also provides a sense of defiant solidarity for the young girls by using the inclusive words we and us when interjecting herself into the narration We studied the saints... • 24. Descriptive Adjectives Analysis of Descriptive Adjectives in Two Stories In any story, the reader needs some way of imagining what the author is writing about. When writing, authors use descriptive words to illustrate what they are trying to convey to the reader and to enhance their story. In the stories The Treasure of Lemon Brown by Walter Dean Myers and The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer, both authors use descriptive words to develop the mood of the setting and the characters. In The Treasure of Lemon Brown, Myers uses descriptive words to describe the setting, characters, and also the mood. He used such words in a scene from the story where the main character, Greg, is walking down an empty street and is looking for shelter from a thunderstorm. The phrase, Graffiti scarred building...grim shadows. is used to describe the buildings around him. These words are used to set up the depressed or ominous mood of the setting, by using words such as scarred and grim. Those particular words cause it to seem as though the graffiti is old and permanent, as if the neighborhood has been this way for a while, and will remain that way: gloomy and depressed. Furthermore, Myers uses these descriptive words to describe Lemon Brown when he writes, His black, heavily wrinkled face was surrounded by a halo of crinkly white hair and whiskers that seemed to separate his head from the layers of dirty coats piled on his small frame. From this the reader can tell that this is an aged man, who is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Who is against fluoride being added to water and Why Who is against fluoride being added to water and Why This report investigates about water fluoridation, and its effects and why it is added to water. Water fluoridation is a process where fluoride is added to public drinking water. The main purpose of this is to reduce tooth decay. The dosage that is added to the water is paramount to stopping tooth decay. This process can only be achieved by physically adding the fluoride to the drinking water. The United States had been a large part of this, and many gamblers had turned to online casinos for all of their gaming. For many years, these casinos continued to be played unabated. Unfortunately, back in 2006, legislation was passed that made it slightly difficult for online casinos to continue to operate. This legislation, sneaked in by piggyback through the Safe Port Act, would be named the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, and it became a thorn in the side of the online gambler, the online casino, and all payment processors there in. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, or the UIGEA, had, in a nutshell, prohibited banks and payment processors from processing transactions that would correlate to online gambling. This has not only complicated loading accounts, but also withdrawing. While USA online casinos have continued to operate, they have had to use payment processors that would circumvent these restrictions. Sadly, the UIGEA was not even set to go into effect until December of 2009, thought the implications of the legislation had fall out that would be nothing short of catastrophic for many online gambling companies, especially those that relied heavily on the United States market. They are native to a large chunk of Southwestern United States, mostly in New Mexico and Arizona, but also partially in Utah and Colorado. It was sometime between 1100 1500 A.D. when a distinguishable Navajo culture began to appear. The first Western contact that is known with the Navajo occurred near 1581 1583 A.D. Historians believe that the Navajo were relatively peaceful with their new Spanish neighbors. However there were some times over the centuries after the Spanish settlement in which the Navajo fought Spanish settlers to retain their land. The Navajo s first contact with the United States came during the Mexican American War. The area where the Navajo lived was seen as a strategic area for the United States military. Troops were therefore brought to Navajo land to form treaties with them. Both sides more or less ignored these treaties. Navajo groups and New Mexican settlers would often clash. The United States government began mobilizing troops to New Mexico, and proceeded to establish military bases there. This initially established a precedence that the government could take advantage of the Navajo people. For the most part, the Navajo wanted to avoid any conflict, and the United States government chose to exploit this. In fact over the past ten or twelve years they ve probably been one of the most visible proponents of the concept. I think this approach was first viewed by the distillery as a necessary maneuver in order to get whisky on the shelves throughout the first decade of production after their 2001 reopening. Considering how fundamentally opposed I am to the idea of opaque marketing with whisky, I imagine it s somewhat surprising (even to myself, if I m to be honest) how much I adore and support Bruichladdich. Let s face it...no other distillery has done as much to reinvigorate the whisky world over the last few years as Bruichladdich. They ve pushed hard for higher bottling strengths first 46% as a standard, and now 50%. They ve foregone artificial colouring. They ve made a mockery of the concept of chill filtration. Their employment of local labour is staggering, especially viewed in contrast to the two man crews running some of Diageo s multi million litre producers. The Knee Jerk Reaction Of The World As unique as every human being is entering and making their impact on the world, man categorizes himself marking key differences in each of these categories. When someone is asked who they are they usually have trouble defining themselves. Philosophy is the most basic and fundamental disciple in that it asks the question of why . Why am I here? Why do I exist? Do I exist? What is my purpose? Why do I act this way? Why do others act that way? Beyond philosophy, all of the other art science disciplines simply are there to fill in the details about life. Throughout human history, mankind has wondered these questions and developed an ever refining system of honing the skills needed for teasing out the true answers to these questions. Two such philosophers are Socrates and Voltaire. One was alive during what might be considered the golden age of philosophical thought; 4th century b.c. Greece. Voltaire, 17th century Paris. In this essay I will compare and contrast Socrates attitude of the importance of philosophy to the Good Brahmin fictional character of Voltaire. Socrates was one of the founding fathers of the discipline of philosophy. He made it his job . He saw it as a tool to improve the lives of Athens citizens. He understood that people are naturally good and only do bad things out of ignorance or misunderstanding. In fact, it was in his plans to sell off the Van Tassel family s farm once he d gotten married to Katrina. While it s true that he would help around the places he stayed in and make the old wives happy, he did these things for his own benefit. The Rise Of Ludwig Van Beethoven The rise of Ludwig van Beethoven into the ranks of history s greatest composers was paralleled by and in some ways a consequence of his own personal tragedy and despair. Beginning in the late 1790 s, the increasing buzzing and humming in his ears sent Beethoven into a panic, searching for a cure from doctor to doctor. By October 1802 he had written the Heiligenstadt Testament confessing the certainty of his growing deafness, his consequent despair, and suicidal considerations. Every star will eventually turn into a red giant over some point in time. Stars turn into red giants when there is no more hydrogen fuel for the star. Nuclear fusion helps create energy for the star so that the force of gravity isn t crushing the star together. This is also the reason why stars are bright.
