With the name The Unicorn Hunters, one might think this group consists of delusional people, but
on the contrary The Unicorn Hunters are a group created for Lake Superior State University
(LSSU) to garner more support for the school. W.T. (Bill) Rabe created the Unicorn Hunters after
being hired as the Director of Public Relations at LSSU. The group s popularity hails from their
publicity stunts and other events, one of which includes the annual List of Banished Words that
first began in 1975 76 (Lake Superior State University). This list consists of words and phrases that
people wish to banish from our language. The past lists show words that people generally disliked,
overused, or considered to be a negligent and lazy way to communicate.
After looking through the lists created by LSSU, the Freshman Composition I class created their
own list of banished words and compiled the data within various tables, charts, and graphs. Next,

The Indian Reorganization Act (IRA) of 1934, otherwise known as the Wheeler Howard Act or
the Indian New Deal, was a United States federal legislation that attempted to reverse traditional
U.S policy, which typically forced Indian assimilation into american culture and regularly took
Indian reservation land. It was a radical act in its time and was introduced into congress by John
Collier, who was head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). The IRA s main goal was to provide

The thirteen American colonies wanted to be free from rule by Great Britain. Freedom would make
it possible to create a new kind of government without a king. In the democracy envisioned by the
country s earliest leaders, Americans would govern themselves based on certain principles or ideals.
Few people at the time thought that the American Revolutionwould succeed and the Americans
could win a war against the world s greatest empire. At the beginning of the war, there was no
regular American army, just a militia made up of civilians and most of them were farmers.
Naturally, they were not used to long campaigns or battles with British Regulars, and thousands
quit. General Washington begged the Continental Congress to provide a regular army of men
enlisted for a long term, but Congress felt that step would violate civil liberties. It was only after
so many American defeats threatened the war effort that Congress agreed to offer extra pay to
officers and privates and pledged to see the war to an end. By 1775, tension between the colonies
and the mother country had reached the breaking point. British troops in Boston learned that the
colonists had hidden a large collection of weapons in nearby Concord. Sons of Liberty Paul
Revere and William Dawes rode to warn of the impending British attack by way of the Charles
River; the most direct route. Just as the sun was rising on April 19, 1775, British soldiers reached

In school, the basic things haven?t changed a lot but due to advanced technology, there have been
many additional resources a student can use. Today, most of the students rely more on the Internet
than on books. However, books are more reliable than the other information found on the Internet.
With just one snap, the Internet gives students variety of information to be analyzed and to have a
better understanding of a certain topic. The way of learning today became more challenging and
appropriate for more advanced minds of the young generations. The Internet has contributed to the
growth of today?s society because it allows students to have new learning resources that are more
interesting and give students the opportunity to gain from others? knowledge and experiences.
Through its development, the Internet provides different benefits that will help the students and
children with their academic standings if it is used correctly at home and in school. According to
the U.S Department of Education, statistics shows that ninety three percent of the schools in the
United States have access to the Internet but the ratio of the students to computers was 5.3 to 1.
Children who are fortunate to have easy access to the Internet often take the opportunity to learn for
