Reflection On Disability Language Terminology
2016 AD5832: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Inclusion
(Louise Griffin Student Number 113141171)
First Reflective: Disability Language Terminology
In one of my first lectures given by Jessica Amberson on 26 September 2015 a point was made of
how terminology associated with defining disability is continually in flux. This prompted me to
consider why is the language of disability in constant change and has it evolved?
I researched the historical language used to describe different types of disability. Firstly, I
realised how the negative stigma of loss was attached to it (Barton 1996, p.8) and how the
commencement of the Industrial Age began the medical labelling of those incapable of working in
order to separate them from those who were reluctant to work (Oliver and Barnes 2012, pp. 14 15).
Before researching I had not realised the extent that capitalism has had on underpinning the negative
language used to define disability (Barnes and Mercer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This statement was very thought provoking to me as it made me evaluate the scope popular
media has on creating preconceptions of disability. It made me think of a recent Advertisement
by Channel4 (2015) for Rio 2016 Paralympic Games that is currently running to promote the
show The Superhumans Return. The advertisement starts off with people with different types of
disabilities. Each playing the part of a villain that wants revenge on the world. I noticed that all
the villains were wearing dark clothes and were in gloomy and bleak scenery. This is a typical
stereotype that popular media has depicted for impaired people. However the tone of the advert
changes when the announcer states Disabled people don t have to play the villain . The advert
then proceeds to show impaired people, some who have prosthesis and all are participating in

Parvana Essay
Parvana is a novel written by Deborah Ellis. Parvana and Shauzia are 2 young girls who life in a
Taliban ruled country, known as Afghanistan. Both girls are faced with many difficulties
throughout the novel. The 2 girls are given the chance to leave the war torn country and Shauzia
immediately takes this chance. By doing so, Shauzia will no longer be living under the Talibans
rules. Being an 11 year old girl, Shauzia deserves to get an education. Shauzia s family does not
value her in any sort of way and she doesn t deserve to see such disgusting things everyday.

Another reason to why Shauzia made the right decision to leave Afghanistan is that she needs to
get an education. Ever since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, girls and women had all been
ordered to stay inside their homes. They also forbade girls to go to school. Many schools in
Afghanistan have been shut down thanks to the bombings that have happened. It seems as though
the Taliban does not believe in education for girls. The Taliban would burn books they didn t like .
It s as though they would burn educational books; a book that you could learn something from.
Books like, literature, humanities, medical etc.
Being an 11 year old girl, Shauzia s life should be filled with things that don t include so much
violence. It is heartbreaking that an 11 year old girl has to go through every single day of her life
seeing all of that. After the incident at the stadium a kind man told Shauzia Parvana to go
remember better things . This sentence here was stated right after Parvana and Shauzia left the
stadium. Seeing that the prisoners hands got chopped off is gruesome. While they were exiting the
stadium, much to Parvana s disgust, she caught a glimpse of a young Talib man who was the hands
which were attached to a rope.
In the novel Parvana, written by Deborah Ellis, Shauzia has made the right decision to leave
Afghanistan. As stated above, the reasons why Shauzia made the right decision are that if she were
to leave she would

Second Wave Feminism In The 1980 s
Our visual narrative on women of the 1980 s focused on fitness and women s increased interest in
exercise and the sexual female body. Using images from the popular women s magazine
Cosmopolitan in 1985, the visual narrative attempts to demonstrate the various aspects of the 1980
s fitness craze and emphasis on the strong, healthy, sexual femalebody, or the better body, as often
noted by many Cosmopolitan articles. Seeking to provide context for the fitness craze and images
shown throughout women s magazines of the 1980 s, this narrative references the second wave
feminist movement of the 1960 s and 1970 s in the United States for an explanation. Summarizing
second wave feminism in its early years, author J. Zeitz describes the movement:... Show more

Statements like better yourself and you ll soon learn to love your mirror presented next to
strong, smiling women implies a healthy, energetic, and attractive life as consequential to
having a better body and exercising (Cosmopolitan). This supports the cultural ideas that arose
in the 1980 s due to the women s movement in the 1960 s and 1970 s, which include notions like
it is no longer considered socially shocking or selfish for girls and women to work for their own
independence and satisfaction rather than for that of their male partners; or for females to kick
ass just as much as males (Bowden). These new thoughts on women are significant because prior
to the movement, it was a widely held belief that men naturally possess a stronger sex drive than
women (or women s sexuality is more repressed than men s), making coercive sexual activity
normal ; and sexuality is focused around penetration and male pleasure (anything else is foreplay )
(Bowden). This belief was supported in part due to nineteenth century doctor William Acton s
sexual advice book Functions and Disorders of the Reproductive Organs, which summed up the
medical literature on women s sexuality by saying that the majority of women (happily for them)
are not very much troubled with sexual feelings of any kind. While men

Summary Of The Night Sky
It was late, the moon already high in the night sky, all except for George lie sleeping softly in the
bunkhouse. An unfinished game of solitaire, sprawled out across the barn floor. The barn was lit
only by a single red candle on an overturned crate. Next to the candle was an opened red pack of
cigarettes and a dirty brass lighter. Fresh hay was scattered around the cold floor, a job
unfinished. In the corner of the shadowed barn, a spider clung to its web as it slowly devoured a
helpless fly. Curley s wife lay still, untouched, the sight almost had a natural feeling about it, as
though this was all her life was ever to amount to, she lay dead amongst the hay; it was as
thought the others had forgotten about her and merely continued with their dreary lives. A
rusted shovel leaned against the wall, next to a freshly dug mound of earth, covering Candy s
lifeless dog. Lastly, spread across the floor, was a ragged length of cold consuming rope, with a
noose tied in one frayed end. George crouched before the rope, hunched over almost
questioningly, as though judging whether or not this was his best way out of the situation. He
was dirty and unshaven; he had yet not bothered to change from his gloomy, threadbare work
attire. His hair was greasy and unkempt, his facial hair was long and neglected and his face looked
like it had not seen water for many days. His eyes seemed to have sunken in to his head, for they
were carrying heavy bags, he resembled a man who had not slept for

Summary of Canadian Confederation Essay
During the years before Confederation, there was much happening in the colonies that would
eventually unite to become the Dominion of Canada in 1867. The Fathers of Confederation were
the architects of the plan that resulted in the proposal that would bring the individual British
American colonies together under a Federalist system. There were three main conferences which
were held and to be included as a Father of Confederation. These conferences were The
Charlottetown Conference 1864, The Quebec Conference 1864, and The London Conference 1866.
The Fathers of Confederation for the most part were leading politicians from the British Colonies
interested in forming a Federal Union or a Confederation. Although not all colonies joined ... Show

This was of a British North America that stretched from Atlantic to Pacific, from the U.S. boarder to
the Arctic hinterland. Britain not only rules the Colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick,
Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Vancouver Island, and British Columbia, but it also asserted
it s authority over all of the lands in the interior that were administered by the Hudson Bay
Company. An evolutionary process which could bring all of these lands together under one Federal
Government would create a country larger than the United States and with the best chances to stand
up to U.S., Spanish and Russian encroachment upon British North America.
Political union was viewed as a solution to many problems and ultimately a larger politic union

Essay On Low Flight Hours
Unmanned Aircraft Systems have taken the Army by storm. While most units fly on a regular
basis, easily meeting their hourly requirements, and becoming very proficient at these tasks.
There are several National Guard Units that continuously fail to meet these requirements. I think
that if every National Guard Unit was able to conduct flight operations where they held weekend
drills. You would see a drastic increase in annual hours flown, as well as overall proficiency and
retention of soldiers in these units. Throughout this paper I will discuss HOR (home of record)
unit s flight hour s vs non HOR unit s flight hours. Along with the other difficulties these units face.
I will also discuss the effects that low flight hours have on soldier s... Show more content on

It is my opinion that the above stated problems with the inability to fly, mission readiness, and
proficiency, in turn lead to a negative command relationship. A negative command relationship
could potentially lead to a lack of trust between leadership. As well as a tension, meaning
command may not believe that you are utilizing all of your Soldiers, therefore they need 4
Soldiers for a detail. However, based on the UAS MTOE, providing Soldiers for details is
practically impossible and could negatively affect flight operations. Having a positive command
relationship will exponentially increase a Units overall ability to operate successfully. Based on
the above mentioned difficulties associated with conducting flight operations while not having a
flight line at your duty station. I think it is fair to associate the inability to perform flight ops at a
Drill duty station with these National Guard Units failing to meet their requirements. Thus in turn
creating less proficient soldiers, which can ultimately lead to lack of desire to stay in the National
Guard. Soldiers enlist to perform a job, and without the ability to perform the desired job comes a
lack of interest in being a National

Carl Sandburg and How He was Influenced by Walt Whitman...
Carl Sandburg and How He was Influenced by Walt Whitman
Carl Sandburg and Walt Whitman had very similar lives. They both came from working class
families and neither one of them went to high school or graduated college. They learned from
watching people and by reading books on their own. They both had a certain sense for the world
that made them able to see what was going on around them and grasp its significance. Although
Whitman was born sixty years before Sandburg there were still a lot of the same things happening
in America and they both picked up on one important factor of the time, that of the average
working class man. Whitman and Sandburg admired the working class man for all of his hard work
and they wrote a lot about this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

States with hundreds and thousands of mouth songs, fit for The States only.
From this poem one can feel the compassion that Whitman has for the common American
workingman. He has much respect for him and believes that he is what makes up America and
what causes America to keep on moving. He portrays the workers to all be singing to emphasize
that they are proud of the work that they do. Whitman and Sandburg both enjoy going through
and naming each of the workers separately in order to display the vast number of people who fall
into the working class. In the poem above you can see how Whitman talks about how the
different workers enjoy their jobs and are happy with the talents that they have in their
specialized positions. The last line of part 1 demonstrates how the workers leave their work and
are able to relax and enjoy their lives at night when the work day is over. The second part of I hear

Examples Of Foreshadowing In The Demon Lover
Elizabeth Bowen/The Demon Lover From the moment that my pen touched paper, I have thought
of nothing but writing, and since then I have thought of practically nothing else.... [W]hen I have
nothing to write, I feel only half alive (British Literature 1228). This shows the passion that
Elizabeth Bowen had for writing. She had always dreamed of being a writer. Although she went
through some rough times, she always expressed her thoughts with her writing. Elizabeth Bowen
had and an unstable childhood that lacked parental love so when she wrote her stories they were
mainly about her past experiences such as the short storyThe Demon Lover.

Drover in the short story. Elizabeth also uses foreshadowing when Mrs. Drover is to scared to
look at the letter again. There it shows how Mrs. Drover feels as if there is an intruder or that the
person that wrote her the letter might return to treat her badly. A lot of the foreshadowing Elizabeth
shows throughout the short story is that Mrs. Drover feels a bad presence with her while she is
getting things that she needed (British Literature 171).
The flashback Shown in The Demon Lover is when she has the memory of meeting the soldier
and agreeing to marry him and giving a hint that Mrs. Drover thinks the letter came from him. She
also explains a flashback by how the soldier would treat her showing that she might had made a
promise to him that she didn t keep (British Literature 171).
Elizabeth Bowen uses ambiguity to create mystery to the story. As to how the letter arrived to
the house, who sent the letter, what promise Mrs.Drover made to her soldier fiance, and the
ending of the story all bring a thought of mystery when reading it. The promise that Mrs. Drover
could have made to the soldier could have been to always be true to him and not marry or that
she would die if he died. At the ending of the story it could have been the ghost of the dead soldier
or that she has gone crazy after the war (British Literature

Pilgrimage to the Prophet Muhammad’s Grave Essay
The Prophet Muhammad died in 632 CE. He was believed to be the Seal of the Prophets,
meaning the last prophet; therefore his grave is a very sacred place (A Concise Introduction to
World religions, 210 215). Visiting the Prophet s grave is a controversial issue. Scholars have
different perspectives on traveling to his grave, each based on the Islamic Law, shari ah. Al
Nawawi and Bin Baz each have differing yet similar rulings on the proper way of Pilgrimaging to

6). The two scholars have several differences between their ideas on visiting the grave of the
Prophet. Bin Baz suggest that one should visit the grave before or after Hajj. He also forbids
women from travelling to the grave of the Prophet. Bin Baz justifies this by stating that
Muhammad has cursed women who go to graves (Fatawa of Shaykh Abdulaziz b. Baz Volume 16).
Al Nawawi recommends visiting it only as one is leaving Mecca, after Hajj. He also has a more
strict policy on visiting the graves. Al Nawawi suggests that the visitor must perform ghusl before
arriving in Medina, in which a ritual washing takes place. After they have completed this then they
must put on their cleanest clothes (The Explication of the Rites of Hajj Ch. 6). Bin Baz and al
Nawawi each have specific rituals that must take place once at the grave itself. Both scholars say
that one should enter with their right foot, as they should in any other Mosque. Both of them
suggest praying in the rawda, or garden, upon entering the mosque. After the prayer both scholars
inform the visitors to approach the Prophet s grave, then the scholars have different steps.

1980s Fashion Trends
Fashion in the 1980s Introduction
Fashion in the 1980s was bold and glitzy. Teenagers no longer dictated fashion trends the baby
boom generation was getting older and richer and demanded more glamorous, upmarket fashion.
Fashion in the 1980s rejected the non materialist `hippie values that had inspired fashion in the
1970s. Earning big money and spending it conspicuously, was the focus of the decade for many
Australians. Some people chose to wear fashion that promoted materialist values and flaunted their
newly acquired wealth and social status.
For people not overflowing with cash, credit cards became a popular way of acquiring goods. As a

Popular American singer Madonna introduced risquГ© trends like visible bra straps and wearing
underwear as outerwear. After Michael Jackson wore a studded black leather jacket in his hugely
successful video clip Thriller (1982), many young people were seen sporting a similarstyle.
Film and television had a similar impact. The movie Flashdance (1983) popularised leg warmers
and ripped, off the shoulder t shirts. The wide shouldered suits from the American soap opera
Dynasty soon filtered into mainstream fashion, while the over the top series Dallas promoted
obviousdisplays of wealth like heavy, glitzy jewellery and sparkling, sequined clothing.
The 1980s power suit
Stiff, sharply cut suits with wide shoulders were popular with businessmen and women in the
1980s. Power suits were designed to make the wearer look successful and authoritative.
Women had been awarded equal pay to men in 1972. By the 1980s, many women felt a greater
sense of authority and control in the workplace and were keen to work their way into senior
positions. For some, wearing a masculine, wide shouldered suit was a way of expressing their new
found sense of power and asserting their equality with men. Suits were usually teamed with
conservative blouses in plain colours.

Management of retail business is the key determining factor in the success of any business. To gain
a sustainable competitive advantage, a retailer needs to understand and satisfy the customer s needs.
This principle holds true in petroleum retailing too. All efforts at exploration and production,

same throughout the length and breadth of the country. It is a well known fact that the cost of the
product is a very important factor in consumer choice. With the entry of a few private players,
though in a small magnitude, a price war has already started at a few regions. This price war is
going to become a reality in times to come when new entrants go for an aggressive expansion of
their retail network. They have already sped up their efforts, commissioning new retail outlets in the
past few years. At this stage, for the government oil companies, it is crucial to undertake a concerted
effort at cutting down their costs and improving efficiency to effectively counter this challenge.
Using information technology for supply chain management, and monitoring the quality and
quantity of product can go a long way to improve efficiency and cut down costs.
One of the more visible transformations in the retail business of auto fuels is the realization by oil
companies that most non fuel activities can also be an important source of revenue

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cooperatives
14.31Workers co operatives
In large public companies, management and ownership are separate. By contrast, in workers co
operatives employees will have contributed towards the capital of the organisation and may elect
managers at annual meetings.
The advantage of workers co operatives is that all workers can take part in discussions regarding
their firm. Therefore, there is a strong incentive for workers to work harder and increase
profitability if they anticipate receiving higher dividends from their shares.
Another advantage is that taking part in the decision‐making process helps to motivate workers.
However if the co operative becomes bankrupt then the workers will lose both their jobs and the
value of their shares. It may then be difficult to persuade employees to put more capital into the
business. The objectives of co operatives are usually to provide goods and services to consumers at
reasonable prices and to pay fair wages to the workers.
Whilst there have been workers co operatives for a considerable time there has been a noticeable
increase in their number in recent years. Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to avoid people having shares in order to pay the advantages of windfalls, the
Nationwide Building society, which is the largest, has a clause that new shareholders i.e. almost
anyone who has deposits agrees to forgo the windfall and the money would instead go to a trust.
The logic of this clause was otherwise, since there is one member one vote so called carpetbaggers
would have small deposits in the mutual organisations and would then try to get a vote on getting
the organisation to become a company since they would get a disproportionate return if the building
society could be turned into a company rather than a mutual

George bush Essay
I. INTRODUCTION
Bush, George Herbert Walker (1924 ), 41st president of the United States (1989 1993), president at
the end of the Cold War between the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
(USSR). Bush also organized an unprecedented global alliance against Iraq during the Persian Gulf
War of 1991, but he was less successful in dealing with U.S. domestic problems and was defeated
after one term by Bill Clinton in the 1992 election.
II. EARLY LIFE
Bush was born in Milton, Massachusetts, but grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut. His parents came
from wealthy Midwestern families. His father, Prescott Bush, a partner in a leading Wall Street law
firm, was a Republican U.S. senator from Connecticut between 1952 and 1963. ... Show more

In 1964 Bush ran for the U.S. Senate against Ralph Yarborough, the Democratic incumbent.
Yarborough argued that Bush s views were too extreme, and, like most Republican candidates that
year, Bush was defeated in the landslide that accompanied the victory of Texas Democrat Lyndon
B. Johnson over U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater of Arizona in the presidential election. Bush s strong
showing in the firmly Democratic state, however, won the attention of a former Republican vice
president and U.S. senator from California, Richard Nixon. In 1966, with assistance from Nixon, an
affluent Houston district elected Bush to the U.S. House of Representatives, and reelected him in
1968.
In the Congress of the United States Bush identified with Republican moderates who were
practical and business oriented, approaches to which his father had subscribed. He won a coveted
seat on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee (which has jurisdiction over financial
matters), supported the extension of voting rights to 18 year olds, and voted to abolish the military
draft. After two terms, he gave up his seat in the House to run again for the Senate, expecting to
take on his old rival Ralph Yarborough. The Democrats, however, nominated a much more moderate
candidate instead, former congressman Lloyd Bentsen, who defeated Bush in the fall.
Despite his defeat, Bush was just the kind of

Albert Einstein s Biography
Albert Einstein The man who would become one of the most famous minds in the history of the
known world, the great thinker Albert Einstein, was born in a small city in the WГѓВјrttemberg
region of Germany on March 14, 1879. He was born in Ulm to Jewish parents Hermann and
Pauline Einstein (Biography 1967). At birth, Einstein had a proportionately large head and his
parents went to their doctor, fearing they had a deformed child and considered measures such as
confinement in an institution as was normal for physically deformed children of the period. The
physician told them that the child s head was fine and that his large head was fine and that the
irregular shape would normalize too in time (Specker 1979). Even his grandmother claimed that
he was much too fat, much too fat! It seems the whole family found fault in the tiny Albert from
the beginning and believed him to be mentally slow (Specker 1979). Theirs was a relatively
secular household and Albert s parents taught him to think individually and to appreciate the
sciences. Einstein s eventual love of science came in part no doubt due to his father s business
which was in the manufacture of electrical equipment. His mother was a homemaker, as was the lot
in life for most women of the western world in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Still
even in this domestic capacity, Pauline Einstein showed herself to be an extremely bright woman
who encouraged her son in his early interest of science. She and her

My Prom Experience
It is almost time , my big sister said as we count down the days for prom. Prom was the only
event I was looking forward to during my senior year. The thought of dressing and dancing with
friends excited me. While the days pass by I scratched off each day and I was thrilled to see how
close prom was coming. I began preparing myself by getting all my school work done and eating
healthy for the highlight of my senior year.
The week of prom was here and it terrified me. I was ready, but I did not know if my dress would
come in time or if my makeup artist would be late or even not show up. The first day of the week
was Monday, April 10, 2017, and it is the day the store finished making my dress. I arrived at the
mall around two in the afternoon to pick up the dress. When the lady saw me, she ran to the back
and got the dress. She brought out this ugly brown strip dress. I started screaming and kicking
everything in front of the door. I could not believe they got the wrong dress. The lady saw me
screaming my lungs out, so she went to get the manager. I told the manager that they gave me the
wrong dress. He looked at me and went to the back when he comes out with my dress. He told me
there was a little confusion because both dresses were in the same place.
The dress was a long silver with a spilled on the side and shiny pearls around the neck of the
dress. I walked out the store with the biggest smile on my face after I got the dress. I thought

Redrone Feasibility Study
Robots are re programmable machine that can be programmed to do a specific or many tasks.
Robots are mainly used to perform tasks that humans dislike or cannot perform safely.
Therefore, a robot is a robot as it is capable of movement, is reprogrammable, and can be
programmed in order to complete a task/tasks. The assignment was to develop and program a
robot prototype which would assist an audience/community. Thus, by assisting the needy
communities the Redrone would be improving the quality of life along with creating social,
political, and/or economic conclusions. One specific Robot, the Redrone, was constructed to
monitor and aid bison, the nation s national mammal. The Redrone will aid the bison by
monitoring them to make sure they do not wander off to an area where they may be killed or
injured and also to warn if they are hurt. The Redrone was built with propellers to give it the ability
to fly. By flying/hovering, it can easily monitor the bison without getting caught on grasses, trees,
and bushes. There is a camera attached to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the Redrone the bison population will continue to grow and improve. Therefore, humans can
receive more goods from the bison without diminishing the population to a large extent thus,
improving the economy. Furthermore, bison have mass migrated outside of Yellowstone National
Park which has upset local and state governments. The Redrone will help control these mass
migrations by leading the bison back into National Parks consequently solving political issues and
conclusions. Ultimately, by assisting the bison the Redrone creates political and economic
implications and solutions. Providing a service, improving the life of bison, the grasslands, and
humans along with creating political and economic conclusions are tasks that the Redrone can
complete. Robots are used to complete tasks that are impossible, dull, or dangerous for humans to
do such as, aiding and monitoring

Temperament Is A Person S Characteristic,Biologically Based
Temperament is a person s characteristic, biologically based way of approaching and reacting to
people and situations (Thomas Chess, 1977 p.146). Also, temperament may affect not only the way
children approach and react to the outside world but also the way they regulate their mental,
emotional and behavioral functioning (Rothbart, Ahadi Edans, 2000) p.147). The most important
approach to deal with temperament is to sit with a child, to understand his or her behavior, most
children are self awareness of exploring things on their own involving cognitive thinking children

Dictatorship to Democracy Overnight in Indonesia
Dictatorship to Democracy Overnight
Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia that was under a military dictatorship for 32 years. The
dictatorship era started after the failure of communist coup d Г©tat by Indonesia s Communist
Party in 1966. General Suharto, the one who had the biggest role in failing the coup d Г©tat,
ousted the first president and established an autocratic anti communist regime known as the New
Order, which attracted political and economic support from Western governments during the Cold
War. At the beginning of this era, he said he would practice a kind of semi direct democracy, while
later, even the news in newspapers was controlled by the government. His era was ended in 1998 by
a huge student revolution and riots ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast to the New Order era government s reaction to separatist movements in Indonesia, the
reformation era government in its early days made a mistake by giving a referendum to East Timor,
a province in central Indonesia that had longed to form its own country since the New Order era.
The referendum was to stay with Indonesia or to stand as an independent country, and the province
chose the latter choice. This influenced other provinces that are not satisfied with the reformation
era government due to the centralized development in certain parts of the country to start separatist
movements.
Even though Indonesia was led by a dictator during 1966 1998, there were still elections during
the period. The election at that time was to elect one of the three political parties to get their
members as new members of House of Representatives. Since there were only three political
parties, each time there was going to be an election, the campaigns never ended up in chaos and the
election ended in peace. After General Suharto was ousted in 1998, there was some kind of a party
craze , everyone intended to make their own political party, without any limitation from the
government. Consequently, in the 1999 election, people had to choose from 48 political parties. It
could be imagined how a country that was still very unstable after a revolution, had an election with

There is a record of the first hybrid cat in 1990, the crosses of a jungle cat and a domestic cat, but
the beginning of the breeding was much later when the breeders began to work together for this

This breed was generated due to people s desire to have wild cats from the jungle as pets in a

1960 the Chausies began to be created. The International Cat Association (TICA) gave the status of

the text Cu states I ve tried to discipline myself, to fulfill my duties, no disobedience, no
gambling, no alcohol, no dope, no women, no swearing. And for what? All for nothing! I m not

Essay On Trauma
Without a doubt having taken this course has opened my eyes to the subject of trauma and its
effects in ways that I would never have conceived in my limited exposure to this area of study. I
can say, that it is the study of trauma and its many faceted dimensions that have perked up my
ears at times such as when the mention of the term on the T.V. brings me to tune in to hear what
the latest event or discussion surrounding a specific take on violence and its trauma related after
probing. My reflection on my emotional reactions to certain KB s is that at the heart of the topic
of trauma are various nuisances. I am looking at my journey as I go through the course, and I am
personally affected by resilience as a factor of people s lives. I was struck by this because the
idea was not one which comes to my attention when thinking of trauma. What comes to mind is
what takes place at the time of a traumatic event and the recovery aspect of it. The varied aspects
of family history and resilience never entered the conversation about trauma which I carried on
with myself. But after looking at the need for victims of traumatic events such as a mass
shooting to get better after a traumatic event, it is reiterated over and over by research of well
documented studies as to how a person s recovery progresses will depend on what resilience
mechanisms have been laid down in their childhood for a given individual. I have this point of
view or good stressors to fall back on for myself

Life, Liberty, And The Pursuit Of The American Dream
According to historians, the American Dream can be expressed in a plethora of different ways
throughout history. Starting with the Puritans arriving in North America looking for religious
freedom, we now have the current man wanting to strike it rich. We all have our own perspective
on what we believe the current deposition has become. Have our values changed? Certainly! I
believe we have values now which are unnecessary compared to our ancestor s dreams. They
wish for things we take for granted in today s world: religious freedom, freedom of speech,
liberty. The Declaration of Independence lists, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness . This
shows our forefathers were already considering our actions. If they believe we can reach this goal,

Many people only focus on reaching their own goals. We need to come together as a whole and

forth. America has already set forth many rights in order to guide us along the way. All we need
to do after this is be willing to sacrifice our time and many things we love. This sounds like a
large price to pay but it will pay off in the long run. The pride Americans have in their country is
great, but their ambition to find their own pride in themselves is lacking. We need to find the
pride in ourselves in order to think we will achieve the American Dream. If we believe we are
going to achieve our dream then we will achieve them. For centuries, many people have ran to
America to escape from strict leaders, war, and no religious freedom. Some people take advantage

where we aren t judged by what we look like, what we believe in or who we say I love you to, but

Hip Hop, A And Creative Aspect Of Music
Breaking through in the heart of the Bronx, Hip Hop was designed to empower and teach the
youth, while providing them an outlet for creative expression. Developed on five essential pillars,
all working towards: giving African Americans knowledge that they didn t have access to, inspiring
them to read and acquire true knowledge of self, and to understand the role that self has in America
in relation to the actual worth of self. Since the inception of Hip Hop, the genre has evolved through
the times while transcending new depths aligned with its original pillars.
An innovator in a sense, DJ Kool Herc founded Hip Hop by the early 70 s. MC s, DJ s,
breakdancing, graffiti and music encompass the five pillars of Hip Hop. Modern inversions
interpret these pillars in many different ways. Prevalent through all major cities, graffiti evolved
to the murals on the side of buildings, and the creative aspect of music videos. Artists have
visions interpreted in the way they decide to imagine their visuals. Breakdancing has become the
advance dance crazes that sweep the nations. People in Japan are hitting the Nae Nae because of
Hip Hop s mass globalization. MC s are the talk show host and commentators of award shows and

Symptoms Of Chronic Wasting Disease
In the last 13 years, cases of Chronic Wasting Disease have increased to over 25% in bucks and
over 10% in does (Marien). With CWD being such a deadly disease, the rising percentage of
cases has led to decreasing deer populations. Because the spread of CWD has resulted in many
deaths, fewer hunting tags are allowed in affected areas to help the deerherd get healthy again. It is
possible, though, that as the populations grow back, CWD may also become more prevalent.
Actually stopping this tragic disease is a challenge, but plans must be put in place to bring its
spread to a halt. Therefore, it is important that hunters and the general public be informed of what
CWD is, how it is spread, how it affects animals, and what can be done to... Show more content on

To avoid the death of the entire herd, it is important for the farmer to be able to identify the
symptoms and confirm whether or not CWD is present. If any of the deer test positive, the
farmer should put those animals down. This will not only stop the spread of CWD, but it will
also stop the animals from suffering as it can take a long time for them to finally expire after
getting this disease. Unfortunately, it is hard to tell whether an animal is infected with CWD, since
it could take up to as much as 18 months for the disease to disable the central nervous system of the
deer. Of course, it can set in sooner or later, but with a deer infected for such a long time, it could
lead to the owner having to put down the rest of his animals due to possible contamination.
Killing captive animals that may be infected is a necessary safety precaution in case some of
them escape into the wild. In fact, this happened in Fairchild, Wisconsin. Twenty deer from an
infected deer farm fled when a tree fell and knocked over the fence. Of them, 17 were either shot
or returned and eventually put down. In the end, all of the deer at the Fairchild farm, 228 in total,
had been put down. Of those 228 deer, 23 were found CWD positive. It is certainly possible then
that any of the three unfound escaped deer could have also been infected and spread CWD
throughout the surrounding herds. After the gun season in that

A Career As A Spanish Language Teacher

Foreign Language Teachers must make sure to interpret the terminology and translate it into the
student s natural language to help them understand better in their learning. They must also provide
instruction in the literature and also in the history of the culture so that the students will be
learning correctly. Professors should also tests students frequently to see their progress so that they
know exactly where they re at. These tests and other activities will show the teacher if the students
understand to read, write, and most importantly the overall understanding in the dialect. If the
instructor sees that the students may need a bit more of help with understanding, it is

First off, mnemonics is an encoding trick used to tie to be remembered information to something

her entire history. We know her personality and her background by the end of the story we know
how she reacts to situations and other behavioral traits characters becomes well known by the
reader. Anna has a major inflection with plot, in the exposition Anna s daughter (the narrator)
delivers readers a brief overview of Anna s life and her career also what her daily life is in
modern time and even describes what it s like living with Anna. The exposition is very calm and
event free until we begin to dwell into the rising action. In the rising action readers can begin to
see tension as conflicts and problems occur. Readers also begin to bond with the characters as
dialogue helps raise tension the reader can relate or know exactly what is happening to the
character and what they are thinking at the time. Anna s daughter helps raise tension by narrating

help the reader begin to relate even more with the character. The rising action can be full of

Roman Civilization
It is undeniable that the Roman civilization made a tremendous impact in the modern world. From
education to politics, Rome has made an important mark in the world by enabling its citizens to
share their culture and knowledge to all their dominion. What makes the Roman civilization unique
is not the preservation of their own culture but the embrace of the cultures of their colonies.
Rome started from a group of villagers living along the Tiber River in Italy. For more than 200
years Rome was under the rule of Kings. Then Rome became a Republic when people began
holding elections to choose their representatives in the Senate. The Senate is the most powerful
body of government in Rome.
The Roman civilization was primarily shaped by religion and politics. When Romans interact with
other people, they influence them through worship and beliefs. A family s religious practice stayed
the same, however, the state religion was significantly changed. When Greek Olympus was
introduced to Italy, the Romans adopted their ideas and stories about the gods, where they elaborate
more and became conspicuous when they worship. However, these changes did not improve their
religion. The Roman religion, compelling the ideas of other people, have become an extensive and
complex form of paganism. The Paganism and supremacy was successfully eradicated. In 313 BC,
Constantine made Christianity legal. Moreover, Theodosius made Christianity the official religion
of the Empire, supporting the

Devil May Cry
The above page is from the first issue of a comic book called Devil May Cry Book One: Evil
Woman. The Devil May Cry comic books are loosely based on the video game of the same title.
It follows a character named Dante who is the son of a demon named Sparda. Sparda fought
against the evil demon king, named Mundas who wanted to take over the human world. 2,000
years after the two demons fought, we follow Dante. He is a mercenary for hire who takes on
cases that interest him, despite the pay that he may or may not get. This page is Dante s first
encounter with Trish; I will be doing a visual analysis of this page. Just quickly looking at this
page, something that stands out is the art style. While many comic books often do more of cell
shading, this comic book goes for more of a realistic style. Even the color pallet that is used is
different, as it uses more subdued colors compared to more vibrant ones. The color pallet that is
used sets a darker tone and that the comic book should be taken more seriously. It also tries to...

The first one is the typical speech bubble that indicates he is talking. However, the interesting
one is the second speech bubble, it is not a typical one as there is a dashed line around it. Comic
book heroes often have sidekicks that can be used so the hero can vocalize their thoughts.
Remembering that this comic book is based on a video game, it is important to know that most
characters in a video game do not have thoughts, and the heroes in video games often do not have
sidekicks that can help vocalize their thoughts. However, video game heroes often speak what they
are thinking, which helps the audience understand what they are thinking. Dante s dashed speech
bubble is showing his internal thoughts as his typical speech. Having Dante do this helps keep his
character, that was already established because of the video game, in character with pre existing fan

Anthropogenic Noise On Cetaceans
Rays of pale sunlight pass through a gradient of cerulean blue. The wide open space seems almost
eerie until a humpback whale gently swimming sings his song, and the space fills with wonder,
until a disturbance arises.
Cetaceans evolved to use sound as their way of sensing the environment, navigating, foraging, and
selecting mates. Anthropogenic sounds have negative effects on marine life. Humans produce their
own underwater sounds through activities such as aircraft overflights, boats and ships (vessels),
tourism, stationary offshore activities, air gun firing, sonars, explosions, and methods to control
movement of marine life (W. Johnson Richardson and Bernd WГјrsig, 1997).
Many studies have discovered vessels as the main contributor of anthropogenic noise. It is difficult
to study the effects of anthropogenic noise on cetaceans because it is hard for scientists to see the
effects on communities in aquatic environments. Nevertheless, researchers are finding new
methods to study cetacean acoustics, which results in better details, but it is still hard to understand
the long term effects of anthropogenic noise on these mammals. Researchers need to conduct more
studies and add to previous data and results ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bottlenose dolphins will decrease their calls in the presence of certain vessels. Call rates decrease,
frequency and length of whistles increase, and creaks changed in the presence of ferries and leisure
boats. Dolphin whistles are a form of social communication. Vessel noise masks whistles interfering
with important social interactions such as mating and mother calf communication, it is hard for the
receiver to recognize signals. Dolphins use creaks in echolocation; changes in these creaks reduce
the efficiency of foraging. Short term vessel noise effects on foraging and mating may turn into
long term, affecting residency patterns (David Lundquist et al.,

The Big Red Dog Research Paper
Clifford, The Big Red Dog, was in his room playing video games and he wrote about the good
things and the bad things about video games. Video games is the way to play games only if you
love to play video games. There is over a ton of games to choose from, there are many gaming
systems to choose from. But parents say the games are the reason kids are failing school. If you are
a person who likes to playgames, this is for you. Video games are a way to learn new things and
to do things, like listening to music and so on. In this writing we will talk about how video games
are. The first reason is how video gameare helpful. The second reason is how video games can be
bad for you. The last reason is how video games are fun and how you will love... Show more

People that play video games will miss a lot in life and if they don t use it right they will not get
through life. They will fail school and not get a good job and they will not get a good education.
They will not want to do thing in side all they will be doing is playing video games too much and
then they will get into trouble, Last year, psychologists claimed that video game players who
favor violent shoot em up games are more likely to be aggressive and ferocious when offline,
and significantly more at risk of committing crimes (Wells 2). So there are some reasons why
they say they are bad for kids. But there is no reason for you to try out the gaming live. Now if
you don t like it then you don t have to get

Speech About Mermaids
Splash, Splash, Splash. The sound of the whales and dolphins. Ever since I was little I dreamt of
this job and now I finally have it. Congratulations! Exclaimed the professor as he handed my my
diploma a few years ago. I remember it in my head like it was yesterday. A marine veterinarian. I
love animals, especially aquatic ones. I had visited an aquarium when I was younger and fell in
love with whales. No animals need tending to. I walk around the facility talking to guests and
watching the whales swim so gracefully around the enclosure. So beautiful swimming around
flipping their tails without a care in the world. Being who I am, my job is incredibly difficult. I
love the animalsand get attached easily. When one dies and I can t save it, I lose part of my family.
When I was young, I wished I was a mermaid. I could swim around with the animals all day and
heal them because I understood. Do you want to ride my mermaid to prom, I asked my mother at
age 5. Even though it doesn t make any sense. First of all mermaids are in the water and secondly
why to prom?
The animals can t talk, we have to guess and it makes it challenging. They can t say what hurts or
how to heal them. They look their happy selves all the time.
We need more technology, I often think. I have never voiced it though. People are always talking
about how much it has improved, but I don t see it. Sure phones have improved, but why isn t there
any technology to heal animals? So many more creatures are

Alphonse Gabriel Capone Research Paper
It is January 17th, 1899; Alphonse Gabriel Capone is born to Italian immigrants in Brooklyn, New
York, US. No one knew it at the time, but he would soon lead the most powerful organized crime
syndicate in the history of the country; the Five Points Gang.
The Sicilian Mafia, La Cosa Nostra, The Italian Mob, The Italian Mafia, and The Mafia. These are
five names for one of the most terrifying criminal organizations in the history of Europe. The name
Sicilian originated from a small island just offshore of the Italian mainland, located in the
Mediterranean Sea; Sicily Island. This is where over the course of many centuries, five major clans,
or families led their own internal governments, usually run by the head of the family. The Sicilian...

This was exasperated during the Prohibition Era of 1920 to 1933, due to there being a huge
demand for illegal alcohol. During this time is when Alphonse Gabriel Capone was reaching his
early 20 s and he was working as a petty thug and bookkeeper for his lifelong friend, and crime
boss, Johnny Torrio. In 1917, Torrio introduced Capone to the gangsterFrankie Yale, who
employed Capone as bartender and bouncer at the Harvard Inn in Coney Island. History.com Staff.

He would soon be reunited with Johnny, who would introduce Capone to The Five Points Gang; or
the Chicago Outfit. He would work under Torio as his Right Hand Man, running the Chicago Outfit
for the next 3 years.
A failed assassination attempt against Johnny in 1925 rendered him minorly disabled, which forced
him to retire, and pass down the mantle of leader onto Capone. With Capone in charge of the
Chicago Outfit, came a much heavier focus on bootlegging; the act of making, selling, or
distributing alcohol and other spirits

Reflection On Disability Language Terminology 2016 AD5832: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Inclusion (Louise Griffin Student Number 113141171) First Reflective: Disability Language Terminology In one of my first lectures given by Jessica Amberson on 26 September 2015 a point was made of how terminology associated with defining disability is continually in flux. This prompted me to consider why is the language of disability in constant change and has it evolved? I researched the historical language used to describe different types of disability. Firstly, I realised how the negative stigma of loss was attached to it (Barton 1996, p.8) and how the commencement of the Industrial Age began the medical labelling of those incapable of working in order to separate them from those who were reluctant to work (Oliver and Barnes 2012, pp. 14 15). Before researching I had not realised the extent that capitalism has had on underpinning the negative language used to define disability (Barnes and Mercer ... It made me think of a recent Advertisement by Channel4 (2015) for Rio 2016 Paralympic Games that is currently running to promote the show The Superhumans Return. The advertisement starts off with people with different types of disabilities. Each playing the part of a villain that wants revenge on the world. I noticed that all the villains were wearing dark clothes and were in gloomy and bleak scenery. This is a typical stereotype that popular media has depicted for impaired people. However the tone of the advert changes when the announcer states Disabled people don t have to play the villain . Many schools in Afghanistan have been shut down thanks to the bombings that have happened. It seems as though the Taliban does not believe in education for girls. Using images from the popular women s magazine Cosmopolitan in 1985, the visual narrative attempts to demonstrate the various aspects of the 1980 s fitness craze and emphasis on the strong, healthy, sexual femalebody, or the better body, as often noted by many Cosmopolitan articles. Seeking to provide context for the fitness craze and images shown throughout women s magazines of the 1980 s, this narrative references the second wave feminist movement of the 1960 s and 1970 s in the United States for an explanation. Statements like better yourself and you ll soon learn to love your mirror presented next to strong, smiling women implies a healthy, energetic, and attractive life as consequential to having a better body and exercising (Cosmopolitan). This supports the cultural ideas that arose in the 1980 s due to the women s movement in the 1960 s and 1970 s, which include notions like it is no longer considered socially shocking or selfish for girls and women to work for their own independence and satisfaction rather than for that of their male partners; or for females to kick ass just as much as males (Bowden). These new thoughts on women are significant because prior to the movement, it was a widely held belief that men naturally possess a stronger sex drive than women (or women s sexuality is more repressed than men s), making coercive sexual activity normal ; and sexuality is focused around penetration and male pleasure (anything else is foreplay ) (Bowden). This belief was supported in part due to nineteenth century doctor William Acton s sexual advice book Functions and Disorders of the Reproductive Organs, which summed up the medical literature on women s sexuality by saying that the majority of women (happily for them) are not very much troubled with sexual feelings of any kind. An unfinished game of solitaire, sprawled out across the barn floor. The barn was lit only by a single red candle on an overturned crate. Next to the candle was an opened red pack of cigarettes and a dirty brass lighter. Fresh hay was scattered around the cold floor, a job unfinished. In the corner of the shadowed barn, a spider clung to its web as it slowly devoured a helpless fly. Curley s wife lay still, untouched, the sight almost had a natural feeling about it, as though this was all her life was ever to amount to, she lay dead amongst the hay; it was as thought the others had forgotten about her and merely continued with their dreary lives. A rusted shovel leaned against the wall, next to a freshly dug mound of earth, covering Candy s lifeless dog. Lastly, spread across the floor, was a ragged length of cold consuming rope, with a noose tied in one frayed end. George crouched before the rope, hunched over almost questioningly, as though judging whether or not this was his best way out of the situation. He was dirty and unshaven; he had yet not bothered to change from his gloomy, threadbare work attire. His hair was greasy and unkempt, his facial hair was long and neglected and his face looked like it had not seen water for many days. They both came from working class families and neither one of them went to high school or graduated college. They learned from watching people and by reading books on their own. They both had a certain sense for the world that made them able to see what was going on around them and grasp its significance. All efforts at exploration and production, refining, distribution and marketing finally conclude at the retail point after moving through long complicated supply chain. Even after the dismantling of the administered pricing mechanism, the price of the product remains the same throughout the length and breadth of the country. It is a well known fact that the cost of the product is a very important factor in consumer choice. Therefore, there is a strong incentive for workers to work harder and increase profitability if they anticipate receiving higher dividends from their shares. INTRODUCTION Bush, George Herbert Walker (1924 ), 41st president of the United States (1989 1993), president at the end of the Cold War between the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). Bush also organized an unprecedented global alliance against Iraq during the Persian Gulf War of 1991, but he was less successful in dealing with U.S. domestic problems and was defeated after one term by Bill Clinton in the 1992 election. II. EARLY LIFE Bush was born in Milton, Massachusetts, but grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut. His parents came from wealthy Midwestern families. In 1964 Bush ran for the U.S. Senate against Ralph Yarborough, the Democratic incumbent. Yarborough argued that Bush s views were too extreme, and, like most Republican candidates that year, Bush was defeated in the landslide that accompanied the victory of Texas Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson over U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater of Arizona in the presidential election. Bush s strong showing in the firmly Democratic state, however, won the attention of a former Republican vice president and U.S. senator from California, Richard Nixon. In 1966, with assistance from Nixon, an affluent Houston district elected Bush to the U.S. House of Representatives, and reelected him in 1968. In the Congress of the United States Bush identified with Republican moderates who were practical and business oriented, approaches to which his father had subscribed. He won a coveted seat on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee (which has jurisdiction over financial matters), supported the extension of voting rights to 18 year olds, and voted to abolish the military draft. After two terms, he gave up his seat in the House to run again for the Senate, expecting to take on his old rival Ralph Yarborough. The Democrats, however, nominated a much more moderate candidate instead, former congressman Lloyd Bentsen, who defeated Bush in the fall. Despite his defeat, Bush was just the kind of ... Albert Einstein s Biography Albert Einstein The man who would become one of the most famous minds in the history of the known world, the great thinker Albert Einstein, was born in a small city in the WГѓВјrttemberg region of Germany on March 14, 1879. He was born in Ulm to Jewish parents Hermann and Pauline Einstein (Biography 1967). At birth, Einstein had a proportionately large head and his parents went to their doctor, fearing they had a deformed child and considered measures such as confinement in an institution as was normal for physically deformed children of the period. The physician told them that the child s head was fine and that his large head was fine and that the irregular shape would normalize too in time (Specker 1979). Even his grandmother claimed that he was much too fat, much too fat! It seems the whole family found fault in the tiny Albert from the beginning and believed him to be mentally slow (Specker 1979). Theirs was a relatively secular household and Albert s parents taught him to think individually and to appreciate the sciences. Einstein s eventual love of science came in part no doubt due to his father s business which was in the manufacture of electrical equipment. His mother was a homemaker, as was the lot in life for most women of the western world in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Still even in this domestic capacity, Pauline Einstein showed herself to be an extremely bright woman who encouraged her son in his early interest of science. She and her ... The thought of dressing and dancing with friends excited me. While the days pass by I scratched off each day and I was thrilled to see how close prom was coming. I began preparing myself by getting all my school work done and eating healthy for the highlight of my senior year. The week of prom was here and it terrified me. I was ready, but I did not know if my dress would come in time or if my makeup artist would be late or even not show up. The first day of the week was Monday, April 10, 2017, and it is the day the store finished making my dress. I arrived at the mall around two in the afternoon to pick up the dress. When the lady saw me, she ran to the back and got the dress. She brought out this ugly brown strip dress. I started screaming and kicking everything in front of the door. I could not believe they got the wrong dress. The lady saw me screaming my lungs out, so she went to get the manager. I told the manager that they gave me the wrong dress. He looked at me and went to the back when he comes out with my dress. He told me there was a little confusion because both dresses were in the same place. The dictatorship era started after the failure of communist coup d Г©tat by Indonesia s Communist Party in 1966. General Suharto, the one who had the biggest role in failing the coup d Г©tat, ousted the first president and established an autocratic anti communist regime known as the New Order, which attracted political and economic support from Western governments during the Cold War. In contrast to the New Order era government s reaction to separatist movements in Indonesia, the reformation era government in its early days made a mistake by giving a referendum to East Timor, a province in central Indonesia that had longed to form its own country since the New Order era. The referendum was to stay with Indonesia or to stand as an independent country, and the province chose the latter choice. This influenced other provinces that are not satisfied with the reformation era government due to the centralized development in certain parts of the country to start separatist movements. Even though Indonesia was led by a dictator during 1966 1998, there were still elections during the period. My reflection on my emotional reactions to certain KB s is that at the heart of the topic of trauma are various nuisances. I am looking at my journey as I go through the course, and I am personally affected by resilience as a factor of people s lives. I was struck by this because the idea was not one which comes to my attention when thinking of trauma. What comes to mind is what takes place at the time of a traumatic event and the recovery aspect of it. The varied aspects of family history and resilience never entered the conversation about trauma which I carried on with myself. But after looking at the need for victims of traumatic events such as a mass shooting to get better after a traumatic event, it is reiterated over and over by research of well documented studies as to how a person s recovery progresses will depend on what resilience mechanisms have been laid down in their childhood for a given individual. If any of the deer test positive, the farmer should put those animals down. This will not only stop the spread of CWD, but it will also stop the animals from suffering as it can take a long time for them to finally expire after getting this disease. Unfortunately, it is hard to tell whether an animal is infected with CWD, since it could take up to as much as 18 months for the disease to disable the central nervous system of the deer. Of course, it can set in sooner or later, but with a deer infected for such a long time, it could lead to the owner having to put down the rest of his animals due to possible contamination. Killing captive animals that may be infected is a necessary safety precaution in case some of them escape into the wild. In fact, this happened in Fairchild, Wisconsin. Twenty deer from an infected deer farm fled when a tree fell and knocked over the fence. Of them, 17 were either shot or returned and eventually put down. In the end, all of the deer at the Fairchild farm, 228 in total, had been put down. Of those 228 deer, 23 were found CWD positive. From education to politics, Rome has made an important mark in the world by enabling its citizens to share their culture and knowledge to all their dominion. What makes the Roman civilization unique is not the preservation of their own culture but the embrace of the cultures of their colonies. Rome started from a group of villagers living along the Tiber River in Italy. For more than 200 years Rome was under the rule of Kings. Then Rome became a Republic when people began holding elections to choose their representatives in the Senate. The Senate is the most powerful body of government in Rome. The Roman civilization was primarily shaped by religion and politics. When Romans interact with other people, they influence them through worship and beliefs. A family s religious practice stayed the same, however, the state religion was significantly changed. The first one is the typical speech bubble that indicates he is talking. However, the interesting one is the second speech bubble, it is not a typical one as there is a dashed line around it. Comic book heroes often have sidekicks that can be used so the hero can vocalize their thoughts. Remembering that this comic book is based on a video game, it is important to know that most characters in a video game do not have thoughts, and the heroes in video games often do not have sidekicks that can help vocalize their thoughts. However, video game heroes often speak what they are thinking, which helps the audience understand what they are thinking. Dante s dashed speech bubble is showing his internal thoughts as his typical speech. Having Dante do this helps keep his character, that was already established because of the video game, in character with pre existing fan ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Anthropogenic Noise On Cetaceans Rays of pale sunlight pass through a gradient of cerulean blue. The wide open space seems almost eerie until a humpback whale gently swimming sings his song, and the space fills with wonder, until a disturbance arises. Cetaceans evolved to use sound as their way of sensing the environment, navigating, foraging, and selecting mates. Anthropogenic sounds have negative effects on marine life. Humans produce their own underwater sounds through activities such as aircraft overflights, boats and ships (vessels), tourism, stationary offshore activities, air gun firing, sonars, explosions, and methods to control movement of marine life (W. Johnson Richardson and Bernd WГјrsig, 1997). Many studies have discovered vessels as the main contributor of anthropogenic noise. It is difficult to study the effects of anthropogenic noise on cetaceans because it is hard for scientists to see the effects on communities in aquatic environments. Nevertheless, researchers are finding new methods to study cetacean acoustics, which results in better details, but it is still hard to understand the long term effects of anthropogenic noise on these mammals. Researchers need to conduct more studies and add to previous data and results ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bottlenose dolphins will decrease their calls in the presence of certain vessels. Call rates decrease, frequency and length of whistles increase, and creaks changed in the presence of ferries and leisure boats. Dolphin whistles are a form of social communication. Vessel noise masks whistles interfering with important social interactions such as mating and mother calf communication, it is hard for the receiver to recognize signals. Dolphins use creaks in echolocation; changes in these creaks reduce the efficiency of foraging. Short term vessel noise effects on foraging and mating may turn into long term, affecting residency patterns (David Lundquist et al., ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Speech About Mermaids Splash, Splash, Splash. The sound of the whales and dolphins. Ever since I was little I dreamt of this job and now I finally have it. Congratulations! Exclaimed the professor as he handed my my diploma a few years ago. I remember it in my head like it was yesterday. A marine veterinarian. I love animals, especially aquatic ones. I had visited an aquarium when I was younger and fell in love with whales. No animals need tending to. I walk around the facility talking to guests and watching the whales swim so gracefully around the enclosure. So beautiful swimming around flipping their tails without a care in the world. Being who I am, my job is incredibly difficult. I love the animalsand get attached easily. When one dies and I can t save it, I lose part of my family. When I was young, I wished I was a mermaid. I could swim around with the animals all day and heal them because I understood. Do you want to ride my mermaid to prom, I asked my mother at age 5. Even though it doesn t make any sense. First of all mermaids are in the water and secondly why to prom? The animals can t talk, we have to guess and it makes it challenging. They can t say what hurts or how to heal them. They look their happy selves all the time. We need more technology, I often think. I have never voiced it though. People are always talking about how much it has improved, but I don t see it. Sure phones have improved, but why isn t there any technology to heal animals? So many more creatures are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
