The non fiction book that I decided to read was, The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History by
Elizabeth Kolbert. What led me to picking this book was that it seemed the most interesting out of
all of the non fiction book selections. Since I already knew most of the reasons why animals went
extinct, this bookdidn t have an impact me. But when I previously learned about animals
extinction, I was impacted because it let me know what happened to dead species species.

extinct. She also explains that if trends in the environment continue that the biggest extinction in
history will occur soon. If global warming, deforestation, and glaciers continue to melt she says
that more and more species will continue to become extinct. She explains how humans need to

enjoy reading this book. Since I knew about most of the information being stated in the book,

The independent variable for part A is the temperature of the reactant. The variable is manipulated
by using three different temperature of reactant to be mixed with hydrochloric acid. One of which

minutes forming an 8В°C mixture. The dependent variable is the time taken for cross mark to
disappear from sight. This will indicate the rate of reaction. The shorter the time needed, the higher
the rate of reaction. From the graph drawn above, we can see that as the temperature of the reactant
decreases, the time taken for the cross mark to disappear increases. Therefore, the higher the
temperature of the reactants, the higher the rate of reaction. As mentioned above, chemical reaction
can only occur if the reactant particles collide and achieve an equal or larger energythan the
activation energy. Based on this experiment, a higher temperature means that more heat energy is
supplied to the reactant particles. The heat energy is converted to kinetic energy of the reactant
particles making them move faster and collide at a higher speed. This allows the reactant particles
to possess more energy which can exceed the activation energy. Consequently, the frequency of
collision increases and the frequency of effective collision also increases. This indicates that more

Durkheim s theories make sense and are for me a nice and fluffy way of looking at Religion, but
I have a feeling that if he were to see the route Religion has gone down in modern society would
he still feel the same about the majority of Religions, for example the scandal s in the Catholic
church over the past forty years that are only really surfacing now. And Weber s thoughts were
more rational as that what was expected of people was to keep their heads down and they would
eventually be rewarded with Heaven.
Even if in today s society more numbers are in decline of practicing religion, Marx s views on
the subject are definitely the most valid. There expectations of people may not be as extreme as
they were back in the 1800 s of their followers as they are now, but of the three, Marx s views are
the most realistic of what Religion truly is. His ability to see what religion was actually doing to
people s lives back then is remarkable and for his words to still have such relevance now in
modern society shows that he was extremely perceptive of society. Marxism also assumes that
Religion will eventually disappear and for someone to envisage that from over one hundred years
ago is clearly someone who knew what they were talking about. And that is why I chose Marx.
