This action record chart should be copied onto flipchart paper. Leave space for the facilitator
column but do not add it – this should only be added to the chart at the end of a participatory
planning workshop, as a last resort (see below).
Ensure that a group member is always responsible for the mobilising of someone external to
the group, to ensure that someone is still accountable for this.
If no one can undertake the action, or mobilise someone else to do so, then (and only then)
the Facilitator column can be added, where the facilitator’s name can go by those actions that
cannot be carried out by any member of the group. However, this should be done only as a very
last resort, and it is important that the emphasis is on the facilitator mobilising others to carry
out the action, rather than undertaking actions themselves.
