9. Do you believe you have become, or already are becoming, a different person because of your enrollment in this doctoral
program? Why or why not? Can you share an example?
I am definitely becoming a different person. I have a back story. I had a professor in my Master's program who was so engaging
and was very thorough with her work and every evening, I would tell my wife that I admired the professor's way of handling the
online class. At one time I even toyed with the idea that I wanted to be like that professor with my students. I teach high school!
Then I met Dr. J. in this first course and my resolve to be a better teacher has doubled. Just by looking at the explicit instructions
received in this course, watching the videos, observing the comments on my completed work, and the general course progress. I
have learned so much about how to be an effective teacher and how to utilize the resources that my students already have to
increase their understanding of content.
In a school with one-to-one Chromebooks, I surely can do more than stand in front of kids every day and deliver instruction, I
have the tools for producing content that can be embedded into the daily lessons for my learners to consume at their own pace.
Sure it will take more time but I will be giving the learners a better experience with the subject and perhaps changing their
perspectives. All these thoughts wouldn't have happened had I not enrolled in this doctoral program and met Dr. J
• Dr. J was truly invested in us as students. It was a very good first course for the doctoral program as it helped us with resources
we will need throughout the program including APA assistance, searching for peer-reviewed journals, citing sources, and even
using kaltura.
• The engagement in the classroom was amazing, the instructor went beyond expectation and provided more and clearer
instructions for the course. Great challenge as I hope to be as great as this instructor.
• There was the chronological order and structure that I felt was a crucial guidance for my success. Every week Dr. J will walk
