Persuasive Essay On Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood Federation of America or the PPFA provides healthcare for millions of men and
women across the globe. They provide many reproductive services and they have offices all around
the globe. They have sex education information to help inform people of the risks some actions, like
sex, can lead to and how to be safe. Many people think planned parenthood should be defended, but
Planned Parenthood should continue to be funded because they provide safe abortion services, STD
testing which includes treatment as well, along with women s health care services. One of the many
women s services that Planned Parenthood implements into their organization is safe, medically
supervised, legal abortions. Most of the individuals who are not in favor of funding Planned
Parenthood are solely against it because of the abortion services that this organization provides.
Without safe and legal abortions, the increase of unsafe abortions would increase and some people
may take drastic measures (Baptiste). In developing countries and counties where abortion is not legal
there are many safe abortions performed that could be avoided if proper care was allowed (Baptiste).
In this article Baptiste says, In El Salvador, a 1998 law went into effect that made abortion illegal with
no exceptions including rape, life of the mother, or incest. Women who are found guilty of having an
abortion face two to eight year in prison. This could promote unhealthy solutions to terminate an

Reflection Paper On Counseling
Session One: I administered the A.P.S. and did a data inventory. She was quite interested but skeptical
of what information would come from the profile. Rebecca is in a local seminary studying Christian
counseling. We have had many opportunities to compare the training we are receiving. I have been
honored to proofread and advise her on papers. She is extremely proficient in the writing and research
process, and she has helped me grow in that process. Session Two: We began with prayer. Rebecca is
29 years old and single. She is an energetic young lady who is working two part time jobs in addition
to going to a local seminary working toward a Masters in Christian Counseling. She has been through
a traumatic early life. Approval has been an issue that she has been facing in her life. She was
converted at age sixteen and did not receive approval from her parents at all concerning Christianity.
Her parents are atheists along with a father that has been and still is an alcoholic. He is an information
technology expert, and because of the extreme availability of positions, he has moved the family many
times. Because he is very perceptive of when employers are finding his problem, he changes jobs
before he can be terminated. He uses the guise of being offered a better position for his quick move of
the family. Because of his earning ability, he is an excellent provider financially, and he can keep his
marriage together in what Rebecca describes as a loveless

Aspirin Rey Syndrome
Aspirin and Reye Syndrome Reye Syndrome (RS), a disease resulting in encephalopathy, fatty
degeneration of the liver, persistent vomiting, combativeness, and potentially death has become a topic
of concern for public health officials. RS occurs among children, 18 years and younger, who have
experienced a viral disease, such as influenza or varicella, and consumed aspirin or salicylates. Once
the onset of RS occurs, the disease has the potential to progress rapidly to a deep coma, and even
death. According to various studies, RS has a mortality rate in the United States of 20 40%. Numerous
studies have been conducted, as the cause of RS was unknown. Literature from various researchers
demonstrated an association between outbreaks of varicella, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Controls in these studies did not consume aspirin, but rather acetaminophen. In the juvenile
rheumatoid arthritis study the three cases that were examined and compared developed persistent
vomiting, noninflammatory encephalopathy, and showed an increase of serum salicylate level, which
is linked to an increase of aspirin ingestion. Compared to the children receiving long term aspirin
therapy whom did not develop RS, these symptoms are strongly associated with RS. The animal
experimental study results found that those with an arginine deficient diet and influenza infection
and/or aspirin treatment had increased levels of SOCTase, SGOT levels, and liver lipids, and
eventually went into a deep coma. Serum ammonia levels were also elevated among these groups.
This study however does not correlate well with humans, as an arginine deficient diet would exceed
the levels used within the ferrets. Lastly, in the Hospital for Children study previously mentioned, an
association with RS and aspirin consumption was found, however the next study found no statistically
significant association between aspirin ingestion and

Operation Market Garden Research Paper
The operation started around dawn on the 17th of September, 1944. German forces continued
receiving regular air strikes by allied forces near Eindhoven, Deelen, Ede, and airfields in Holland.
Paratroopers of the airborne assault boarded their planes and began travel to their drop sites. The
operation used over two thousand aircraft, between troop carriers and assault aircraft, to get the
paratroopers close enough to assault into their objectives. By approximately 1400 hours local time on
the 17th, an estimate of 20,000 troops landed in vicinity of their planned drop zones. Additionally, this
was the first successful airborne operation for dropping artillery into battle. The three assault forces
began their movement onto their objectives by evening of the 17th, finding little resistance until they
approached Eindhoven. Upon arrival at some of the locations to secure, it was identified the Germans
blew up the bridges before allied forces could reach their destinations. For these sites, allied forces
successfully secured the locations however failed to have a capable route through. Many of the sites,

In reality, the commanders involved in the operation chose not to trust the intelligence available to
them. The failure to utilize the Dutch resistance forces for human intelligence, or the allied signals
intelligence capability to decipher enemy messages, led to the undermanned and unprepared operation
we know today. With implementation of all of the intelligence assets available, multiple new avenues
of approach would have become available to strategic and tactical commanders. These concepts could
have been implemented into the early advancement into Germany through Arnhem, and a considerable
decrease in time to end the war in

The Black Liberation Army (BLA)
Two domestic Terrorist Groups in the United States is the Black Liberation Army and the other is
Antifa. The Black Liberation Army (BLA) was part of the terrorist group with a far left aims,
originally part the Black Panther Party formed in 1970. The Black Panther Party, the BLA was directly
responsible for at least 20 fatalities, making it amongst one of the most lethal homegrown U.S. groups
of the1970 s and 1980 s. They were also known as a militant black marxist composed of the most
violent elements of the Black Panther Party. One of their main goal was to take up arms for the
liberation of the black people in the United States.
Some of their Ideology are anti capitalist, anti imperialist, anti racist and anti sexist. What made them
a terrorist group was that they carried out a series of bombings, killing of police officers and drug
dealers, and bank robberies. The Black Liberation Army was was part of the New Left Movement

was illegal. The FBI aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting domestics terrorist

North American Free Trade ( Nafta ) And The International...
Ever since organizations and agreements like the North American Free Trade (NAFTA) and the
International Monetary Fund (IMF) were created around the end of World War 2 to supposedly help
the Third World nations to establish better economies and governments, they have only done more
harm than good for these nations. These third world countries end up becoming exploited and
extorted, forced to become dependent on the big international organizations like the IMF because of
the exorbitant interest rates charged on them, thus they remain forever in debt. The accumulation of
debt then allows the IMF to have more voice over how the indebted countries should be shaped and
how they should run their economy. What ends up happening then is that their ... Show more content

Because of such policies, many women end up struggling at home and eventually, in desperation, they
end up leaving home to find work elsewhere. First, let us examine how economic policies like the
structural adjustment policies implemented by the IMF affect a country. A great example of this is
detailed in Ault and Sandberg s Our Policies, Their Consequences , where both authors explore how
seriously the structural adjustment policies changed the economic state in Zambia. As these authors
point out, the terms of the loans reflect the economic and political interests and values of the world s
wealthiest nations (470) . It is seen here already that that does not bode well for Zambia. One clearly
can see that globalization is just another way first world nations still colonize the world, but instead
through means of economic and trade conquests. Now, the article continues on to talk about the kind
of changes that the IMF implemented on Zambia: they wanted them to devalue their currency and stop
supporting many domestic programs, social welfare programs, and fire federal employees and instead
they wanted them to focus on increasing their exports for the global market. And what are changes
without its consequences? Because the IMF favored the growth of international markets, the local
economy in Zambia suffered greatly. Devalued

Comparing Venus And Ovid s Metamorphosis
Titan s inspiration of Adonis and Venus originated in the story of Ovid s Metamorphosis . Overall, it s
a love story between Goddess Venus and Adonis. The artwork display movement as Venus attempts to
stop Adonis from meeting his fate before he died hunting a boar while his dogs eagerly wait. His
interpretation took reference from Greek mythology and other mythical stories during the renaissance.
Nearly 100 years later, Rueben was inspired by Titan s original theme. Based on his composition and

Life for the people in the 1840s 1860s was changing and it was changing dramatically. Western
movement increased due to manifest destiny that many believed it was God s will for the american
people to move coast to coast. There was some technological advancements also going on people
could now send messages through morse code which was good for sending Political messages
commercial messages and also emergency messages. Railroads even became a huge hit amongst the
people of that time this turned Chicago into the number one commercial hub because of all these
advancements city growth and wages also increased. Homes were also starting to change homes made

some people couldn t take baths some had to use the restroom outside and also there was no street
cleaning. The average life expectancy for a person living in the 1840s 1860s was 24 and that was due
to diseases and also the inability to understand what was going on with people. But in the 1840s
something big happened something we can be happy that was invented Anesthesia. Because
anesthesia was invented it allowed for longer and more complicated procedures to take place. Just like

The Consequences Of The Donner-Reed Party
The Donner Reed Party was a bunch of brave people ready to begin a dangerous journey to freedom.
For many people, freedom meant different things to many people. For some, it meant a new life or a
new place. For others, it meant adventure. The Donner Reed Party was led by George Donner, Jacob
Donner, and James Reeds. These men wanted a new life and better life. The Donner and Reed families
came on the journey with support, love, and an adventure. One day on the journey, one guide never
arrived which made it difficult to know where to go. Since the guide didn t show up and it caused
many conflicts. For instance, two men got into a fight, and one of them killed the other and he was
punished (McAndrew 36). The Donner Reed Party was a group of emigrants traveling to California,
along with the journey the Donner Reed Party encountered many obstacles while on the Oregon Trail
this led to many consequences, and they dealt with theses problems in many different ways. The
Donner Reed Party was a group of people moving to California, looking for a new beginning. Living
in California was a lot cheaper which was better for many people (Calabro Marian 17). California was
mostly empty, so the land was free. This allowed people to build new homes, and buildings (Calabro
Marian 18). The Donner Reed Party was originally from Springfield. In Springfield, the wealthy
people had it better than the people who weren t as wealthy. Moving to California was a perfect

Middle Range Theory Of Postpartum Depression Theory Essay
Middle Range Theory Paper: Analysis of Postpartum Depression Theory
Description of Theory In 1993, Beck published a middle range theory on postpartum depression,
entitled Teetering on the Edge. Beck, (1993, p. 44) which describes walking on a fine line between
sanity and insanity . Beck determined a limited amount of qualitative research available and few
instruments for measurement of postpartum depression, postpartum psychosis, and maternity blues .
Beck interviewed 12 women for 18 months detailed their experiences, and determined the main
perceived problem was a loss of control (Beck, 1993). Beck s theory is one that is centered in
phenomenology and produced a concise and testable theory (Marsh, 2013).
Loss of control is broken down into four stages: encountering terror, dying of self, struggling to
survive, and regaining control (Beck, 1993). Beck, 2002, has developed two screening tools
(Postpartum Depression Screening Scale and Postpartum Depression Inventory System) to evaluate
risk factors and symptoms. Encountering terror is an initial response to feeling out of control,
described as being trapped with no means of escape (Beck, 1993). Stage II is highlighted by a reported
feeling of loss of former self and feeling internally void of caring or emotion, likened to that of a robot
(Beck,1993). Struggling to survive is recognized by the inability to carry on activities of daily living,
including eating and bathing. This is the stage where many seek assistance and

The Shaping Of Our Country
Celeste Munoz
U.S History I to 1876
Mr. William Stowe
28 November 2014 The shaping of our country has been impacted by several different factors, each
contributing to it in their own way. Four of the major pivot points that occurred consists of:
Jeffersonian democracy, Jacksonian democracy, Civil War/Reconstruction, Revolution/Constitution.
However one of them happened to be the most impacting which was the Civil War and
Reconstruction. The American Civil War occurred during 1861 to 1865, lasting only five years.
America s bloodiest clash resulting in the death of approximately 620,000 Americans and millions
more were injured. In the spring of 1861, the north and south began to rise into conflict over issues
like states rights. Other conflicts include federal authority, westward expansion and slavery. When
Lincoln was elected president in 1860, seven states seceded from the union and they formed the
confederate states. After the first shots were fired four more states joined the confederate states.
Abraham s election was the rising point to long debate over the federal and state governments. The
war can be viewed in many ways. One as the final violent stages in a conflict of two regions. Another
as the breakdown of the political system of the Democratic Party and as the max point of several years
of social reform. Or also viewed as the main chapter in America s racial history. The survival of the
U.S as one nation was at risk, and the outcome of the war

How many hours can you play each day?:
Depending on my school schedule and homework, I could have anywhere from 3 8 hours to play
except on Fridays, when I m with my football team before and during our game, which is from 3:15
pm 10:30 pm. I usually have the whole weekend free to play, unless I m helping my dad coach my
brothers football team, which doesn t happen very often, or I m babysitting, which I do for my
neighbors from time to time. I play 4 5 hours everyday during the week, and 15+ during the weekend.
Have you had any past experience?:
My first experience being staff was in 2014, when I was a chat mod on woodycraft.net, a vanilla

was also a chat mod on Opticcraft.tv (7 months) and mod on Pulsepvp (4 months), but I resigned to

recently spent playing on MiniHCF s SOTW. Most of my recent experience on servers has been

How Effective Was Opposition To The Nazi Regime Between...
How effective was opposition to the Nazi regime between 1933 and 1945?
Hitler s dictatorship of Germany reformed it into a totalisation state, which meant that the Nazi party
were the only party that held political importance and therefore other opposing parties were banned.
Opposition consisted of Germany s general public, Churches and religious followings, such as
Christian and Protestant, and anti Nazi groups. The control the Nazi party had in Germany made it
difficult for any opposition to be able to have an effect on the Nazi regime safely. That was because
anybody who tried to speak out against the regime and its policies or Hitler was arrested and sent to
concentration camps to be used as slaves of labour or executed, which is stated ... Show more content

Hitler was able to influence the media in Germany so assigned Nazi members to broadcast and report
to the public. But they would then only feed stories and news to the people about matters that showed
the Nazi regime in a positive and biased way to give the false pretence to the German people the
regime is effective and the best thing for the country to improve. Opposition however couldn t
compete with the broad scale that the Nazis were able to report on, so they lacked having the proper
resources to reach the public audience and to educate them on different political matters that would
allow them to be able to form and develop their own opinions. People also wouldn t take any physical
items that explained their views and opinions because if they were caught with anything that opposes
the Nazi party or regime they could be arrested and taken to a concentration camp. That meant that
they had to rely on reaching people verbally and being able to express themselves in a way that s

Winston Churchill Ethical Or Ethical
Great men are never good men. To be great is to be considerably above average in terms of ability,
quality or eminence. To the British, Sir Winston Churchill was indeed a great leader, and he is most
well known for rallying and leading the British during the Second World during his term as Prime
Minister of the United Kingdom, inspiring them with a belief in their victory and justice of their cause.
However, not all of his actions were ethically sound , or morally good or correct, possessing and
displaying moral virtue, as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary. Even though his intentions were
for the good of his people and country, the actions that Churchill took in trying to reach his final goal
were not always ethically sound. Therefore, I agree with the quote and in this essay I will be
evaluating the extent to which some of his decisions and actions were ethical or not.
One of the most controversial actions taken by Winston Churchill was the decision to bomb Berlin in
1940. When the German air force bombers attacked London against Hitler s orders, Churchill refused
to listen to Hitler s explanation and instead ordered a retaliatory attack on Berlin. He specifically
commanded the Royal Air Force (RAF) to focus their attacks on the civilian population and industrial

However, his plan did not work out, as intended as Bulgaria remained on the Germans side and the
bombing did not lead to a change of government and leadership. In fact, the high number of victims
undermined the prestige of both the United States and Britain in the eyes of the Bulgarian people.
Churchill s actions were unethical as he took an extreme measure that caused the death of even more
innocent lives, just because of the prospect that he might have been able to force another country to

Snowball Short Story
One day, in 4th grade during winter time, me and my friends were playing in the snow. Me and my
friends were athletic, so we spent a lot of time outside. The air was biting at our noses, and snowmen
with orange noses and piles of snowballs behind snow walls littered the area. Snowballs zoomed
across the yard, occasionally decapitating a snowman, or exploding on someone s jacket. I threw my
hardest snowball, aimed directly for someone s back. As he reached down to get another snowball, the
snowball kept going. My snowball had shattered a window. Everyone quickly dispersed and ran to the
end of the street, and met up. I was nervous and embarrassed. You almost hit me with that! My friend
exclaimed. I m sorry, but please don t say anything, I pleaded, The snowball will melt, and our parents
won t know what happened. This isn t gonna work, you re going to get us in trouble. My friend
retorted. Nobody s gonna find out. I repeated. After a day or two, my parents had heard that our
neighbor s window had broken. They asked me if I had heard anything about it, but I simply said no.
When I got to school, my friends continued to urge me to confess, but I would not budge. Another
couple of days passed, and me and my friends were hanging out again. This time our parents were
there and seemed angry. They knew where we were when the window broke, and so they knew one of
us had broken it, but they didn t know who. Everyone glanced at me, but I still did not talk. This went

The Model Of The Osi Network Model
Five Layer Approach Abstract The current OSI network model has been around for a long time and
with the current transition of network use we need a model that has the ability to adapt. The ideas
which bought OSI into existence still apply today and even though it is having to keep up with new
technologies it is still the basis to our network models which are in place today. 1. Introduction The
OSI data model originated in 1977 and this model contained the original seven layer protocol. The
model has since been modified to be used with the changing protocols of the network whilst keeping
the seven layers. The seven layer OSI model has been able to cope with the updates but there are
duplications of operations which creates a redundancy in the model. 2. Proposed System The OSI data
model allows different operations to be performed in one layer but with the changing technologies we
are able perform more tasks simultaneously. The OSI model doesn t fully utilise this technology, this
is why the proposed system performs all the same operations whilst having less layers. The system
which is being proposed is a five layer system which still contains an Application layer. The five layer
system also has a Transport Layer, Network Layer and a physical layer similar to the original OSI
system. 3. Application Layer The Application Layer has been linked with the Presentation and Session
layer from the OSI model. These layers share a Protocol Data Limit which allows them to now

The Birth Of Pregnancy After C Sections
A majority of mothers prepare for their pregnancies with full intention of a vaginal birth at the end of
their third trimester. However, there is a possibility that medical conditions could arise, such as a baby
who is positioned incorrectly, preeclampsia, or toxemia. Therefore, a cesarean delivery is the safest
way. Most believe that subsequent pregnancies require subsequent C sections. Today, many mothers
are opting for VBACs aka vaginal birth after C sections. A C Section, or Cesarean Section, is a major
surgery to deliver a baby who may suffer from complications or could be breech. They may also be
done in response to the mother and the complications that she may have. It is done by cutting through
the wall of the mother s abdomen. It can be life threatening to the mother and the baby. It can raise the
risk to the mother and could even complicate future pregnancies. American College of Obstetricians
and Gynecologist suggest offering the opportunity to pursue a VBAC. An evidence review in 2003
found that overall VBAC success rates were greater than fifty percent (Ebelle 1192 4). This study
shows that the success rate of VBACs are improving each year. C Sections are the most common
surgery in the U.S. and account for about one third of all U.S. births today. Since the 1990s, the C
Section rate has risen sixty percent (Shute: Doctors Urge.... ). The risk of a C Section to a mother

My Best Moments In My Life Of My Family

Alexia Reese. Some of my best moments in life involves her. She is so full of laughter and joy. Her
humor style is definitely one of a kind, very weird and crazy. The one time Alexia could not stop

Alexia said The one thing that makes me truly happy other than making people laugh is beating my

The Staining Of Bacteria Are Known As Differential...
The staining procedures used to differentiate the types of bacteria are known as differential technique
of staining. The simple methods of staining impart same color to all types of bacteria and other
biological materials. The principle behind this differentiation is due to the variation in physical and
chemical properties of the cell. Consequently, reaction occurs differently to reagents. In handling of
the sputum when testing for the presence of bacteria pathogen one has to ensure that there is no
extraneous bacteria to contaminate the specimen. The sample is refrigerated for a maximum of twenty
four hours. The sample should not be frozen or stored at room temperature. Ensure that the minimum
amounts of the present antibiotics that inhibit bacterial growth are not visible to the eye. One should
differentiate pathogenic and normal flora bacteria. The identification of the bacteria is a step by step
process that involves biochemical, molecular and immunological tests and observations. To determine
the viable bacterial numbers in the sputum sample, the sample is homogenized with dithiothreitol and
glass beads in order to determine the method which recovered the greatest number of viable bacteria.
Continuous monitoring systems of mycobacterium report higher contamination rates than traditional
radiometric technologies. The first step in analyzing fresh sputum is the gram stain test which seeks to
identify the type of bacteria in the sample. If the sample is seen to contain

Keg River Essay
The term Keg River has been historically used within Alberta to indentify early to middle Devonian
carbonate reef type structures within the Alberta Basin. Nomenclature problems were identified by
Schneider (2011) with commonly interchangeable terminology that began in the 1930s, including
Upper Elk Point formations such as the Winnipegosis, Keg River and Methy.
Sproule (in Ells, 1932) described the Keg River from outcrops along the Clearwater River, near Fort
McMurray in the 1930s. Sproule described the carbonate sequence as a thin bedded, alternating
limestone and shale, progressing to an argillaceous limestone under a massive dolostone.
The Methy Formation was first published in research from Nauss (1950), currently used as the ...

Corrigan (1975) divided the Keg River into two units; the lower unit The Platform consisting of
uniform thickness over a large regionally area; and the second unit as an aerially restricted Buildup
consisting of reef mounds deposited on the top of the lower platform unit. He described the Keg River
Formation to contain halite, anhydrite and carbonate.
Campbell (1987) defined the Keg River Formation as an open marine carbonate with an upward
shoaling character marking the beginning of the Lower Elk Point Group (Lower Keg River Member).
This Lower Keg River member was initiated by a rapid increase in sea level elevation flooding the salt
plains of the Contact Rapids. Campbell (1987) described the Lower member of a dark micritic
limestone, in a somewhat euxinic environment, containing bitumen and fauna such as brachiopods,
crinoids, corals, stromatoporoids and gastropods. The unit can be locally dolomitized with a maximum

Analysis Of The Article Geeks On The World s Biggest...
After reading the article Geeks in Toyland by Brendan Koerner, I realized the importance of
organizational culture to connect the customers to the company. This article talks about the corporate
culture and leadership style of Soren Lund (Mindstorms product director). He was asked to come up
with a new version which is not a slightly improved model, but to create something completely
different. Each company has their own corporate culture. During my research, I came across a similar
article that talks about the corporate culture and leadership style of America s most successful
company, Apple Inc. The Fortune magazine article How Apple Works: Inside the World s biggest
startup by Adam Lashinsky explains how big company such as Apple Inc. really operates. By the time
he s finished, you ll probably still want to buy Apple products, but you may not want to work for the
firm. Apple s products have always been created by small teams working closely together, with no
outside intervention (apart from the management s directions). This was the case when it was first
founded in 1976 with only three people, and is true today with almost 25,000 people employed. In
Apple s early existence, these teams consisted of talented people hand picked by the senior
management (particularly Steve Jobs). Apple s organizational structure is relevant to the research
article Geeks in Toyland as it demonstrates Steve Jobs role at Apple, and the importance of various

Dollar General Case Essay
There can be a number of reasons for a company to go public or private. There are benefits, as well as
disadvantages that go along with either course of action (Exhibit 1 for details). When firms decide to
go private, they are no longer listed on any stock exchange market. The pressure of keeping
accounting regularity and reporting to the public is no longer an issue. Instead, firms can be more
flexible to reorganize the business profile as well as the management team. In many cases,
shareholders and board members receive very rewarding financial benefits from this transaction.
However, in some situations, public firms do not have a choice in the matter, as is the case in a hostile
takeover .

Jewish People After The Holocaust
There was a time when Jewish people s lives were in great danger. It was incredibly hard if you were
Jewish at that time since many people died. Eleven million people died during the Holocaust. The
Jewish population at this time was 9.5 million and six million of them died. Can you imagine what it
was like to live through that? The treatment of Jews throughout Europe up through the 1940s was
terrible and horrific. The jews were treated dreadfully before, during and after the Holocaust.

The Jewish people were not treated like they should of been so I m going to tell you about how they
were treated in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and Germany. In Western Europe they were much
nicer to the Jews they gave them shelter food and helped them get back on there feet. Here is a quote
from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum website from before the Holocaust There they
were housed in hundreds of refugee centers and displaced persons (DP) camps such as Bergen Belsen
in Germany. The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) and the
occupying armies of the United States, Great Britain, and France administered these camps. A
considerable number and variety of Jewish agencies worked to assist the Jewish displaced persons.
The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee provided Holocaust survivors with food and
clothing, while the Organization for Rehabilitation through Training (ORT) offered vocational
training. Refugees also formed their own organizations, and many labored for the establishment of an
independent Jewish state in Palestine. The western countries were much nicer they helped Jewish
people get shelter and food. In Eastern Europe they were horrible to the Jews like in poland they had
many riots over 42 Jewish people died and a lot more were beaten they also had parades about hating
the Jews. Here is a quote from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum website from before
the Holocaust Some who returned home feared for their lives. In postwar Poland, for example, there
were a number of pogroms (violent anti Jewish riots). The largest of these occurred in the town of
Kielce in 1946 when Polish rioters killed at least 42 Jews and beat many others. that shows that the
Jews weren t like they should of been treated. In Germany the Jewish people were scared to go back

In the film, Do The Right Thing, directed by Spike Lee, is a story of African Americans and Italian

Throughout the film, Lee establishes two main characters that illustrate the right thing , starting

Sal comments, It s about turning that shit off and getting the fuck outta my pizzeria Sal clearly is

accomplished by the story of the trash can . When Mookie throws the trash can, it may not seem
correct, but ultimately it serves all these needs with each character. Sal injustice with Radio Raheem
was the reason for the riot. For example, Raheem entered the pizzeria and his boombox was
enormously loud. That made Sal emotions and actions become very upset. Then, Sal s anger lead to
destroying Raheem boombox and that is how both started to fight. Somehow, Raheem he refused to

How Did Chester A. Arthur The Principle Of American Politics
Chester A. Arthur: The Ripple of American Politics For my presentation, I would like to present a
president not known much in this time and age but one who, in 1880, made drastic changes to the
American government. This man was Chester A. Arthur. The following material is what I have learned
in American Government for only but one year, I have still learned more than what I already knew at
the beginning of my high school career. I have gained a better understanding of the American political
system as well as the history of the system. The second is that I can now put everyday events that

fundamental that I learned was how to do research. As I looked ... Show more content on

It wasn t long until 4 months after Garfield s assassination in that same year that Arthur officially
became President. Some of the highlights of his term as president were the signing of the Pendleton
Civil Service Act which prohibited the firing of workers based on political reasons and political
donations from the employees. This act also allowed specific federal government jobs be given based
on how well an employee does instead of political connections. Another event was his almost
successful attempt to lower the tariffs. He vetoed the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, only to have the
veto overrode by Congress. Militarily he wanted to have the modernization of the U.S. Navy (. In
conclusion, I applied what I have learned from American Government to give an informative view
into a president who had a somewhat important role in the American political system 136 years ago
which still applies to today. This in return was done using the three skills I have learned: knowledge of

The Lady With The Pet Dog Analysis
The Lady with the Pet Dog written by Anton Chekhov and The Lady with the Pet Dog written by
Joyce Carol Oates illustrate what goes through the mind when committing adultery. Both are tales of
love lost and love found, including romances with adulterous spouses and secret meetings. The Lady
with the Pet Dog written by Chekhov and Oates present the actions and decisions of two very unhappy
married individuals, whom one could say meet by chance. In both short stories the plot line is
extraordinarily similar; both love affairs end up finding true love from each other; however, the
emotions and general idea differ from the point of view analyzed. Although both short stories illustrate
immensely similar qualities, the short story by Joyce Carol Oates is more effective in three main areas.
The three main areas where Oates story is more effective include the use of the female characters, the
use of point of views, and the use of dogs. Throughout the two short stories, both interpret the use of
the female characters excitingly different. The short story written by Chekhov interprets the female,
Anna, as the female who can handle committing adultery while only breaking down/crying a few
times. On the other hand, the story written by Oates interprets the female, Anna, as a female who can t
handle committing adultery where she cuts herself (thinking about suicide) and almost to the point
where she goes crazy. In Chekhov s story the female is best examined through the quotation: Anna
Sergeyevna and he loved each other as people do who are very close and intimate, like man and wife,
like tender friends; it seemed to them that fate itself had meant them for one another... (Chekhov 224).
This quotation by the narrator best explains that Anna Sergeyevna is a happy woman with her secret
husband and she has accepted that they have to live in secret. But, Anna is okay with that because it
seems as if fate has brought them together, although she questions it at the beginning of the story. On
the contrary, in Oates s story the female is best explained through the quotation: She was certain of
that. But the bath water made her dizzy, all that perpetual heat, and one day in January she drew a
razor blade lightly across the

Outlining the Overall Structure Ofocial Care Sector Essay...
Part 1 P2 (500 words) Outlining the overall structure of the social care sector. Social Care services
sector s role is to deliver social care systems which offer care equality for all individuals, while
allowing people to retain their independence, dignity and control. During the past 20 years the need
for social care services in the UK slightly increased. This is mainly due to demographic factors such as
an increasing aging population. Therefore this means that more care and residential care homes are
needed. Also, a number of women with small children, who decided to come back to work, is
growing. This means that there is a need for new nursery and pre schools, which would look after the
children. Britain has a mixed economy of care ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are often those who fill the gap which was left by other sectors. They usually concentrate more
on social care rather than on health sector e.g. their role is to help poor people in need. Examples of
them are: Red Cross, Oxfam, and British Heart Foundation. Social Care services can be accessed by
using referrals. There are 3 different types of referrals: self referral, professional referral and third
party referral, each of them involves different process. Self referral is when individuals suspects by
themselves that they have some problems with their social issues. Therefore, they self refer to a social
care specialist in order to receive the help and support that they need. Professional referral is when a
service user already contacted or used the service; however if the professional suspects any kind of
underlying health problem, the patient will be referred directly to another professional. For example if
the social worker suspects a child abuse in the family, he/she may refer the child to a counsellor or
psychologist to sort out the problem. Third party referral, is when a non professional person such as
relative, friend or neighbour contacts with the services in order to help the individual they know about.
For example the resident of the residential care home may be referred by the home manager to see a
social worker. When an individual is trying to access a social care services she/he may face some

Problem Facing the World Today There are thirty four countries in the world that are both advanced
agriculturally and predominantly Muslim. These thirty four Islamic nations account for about 21% of
the world s land surface and about 15% of its cropped area. While the agricultural sector has been a
pivotal part of Islamic life for hundreds of years, the practice is becoming more and more difficult. In
regards to agriculture today, Lynn White states that formerly man had been part of nature; now he was

erosion, usable water is becoming more and more scarce, and the long term agricultural potential in
Islamic nations is decreasing (Tutwiler). Muslims are actually well known for placing a high priority

The Future Of Autonomous Cars
Introduction Autonomous cars are going to be a reality on people s routines in a near future when the
first units starts to being sold, however the unmanned technology is far from being a recent discovery.
Researches have been conducted on the past 90 years when the american army started to assembly
flying bombs equipped with gyroscopes and barometers as components of a navigation system. Ever
since, the unmanned technology has evolved in a tremendous way, and after the first GPS satellite
launch in 1978, vehicles can rely on a navigation systems that is reliable and has coverage all over the
globe. The air transportation system has taken advantage of this technology for navigation and air
traffic control as the demand for this kind of transport has increased and so did the number of
airplanes in the sky. The automatic pilot is enabled as every airliner reaches the cruise altitude, which
makes it a semi autonomous vehicle that relies on sensor and GPS navigation to reach it s destination.
Autonomous cars nowadays are being developed by companies such as Google, Audi, Toyota, General
Motors and others, and prototypes are now being tested and improved before the introduction on the
market. Classification Each project carried out by the Industry today has a level of automation.

Essay on Why Hybrid Cars Should Not Be Purchased
As the gas price is rising up to 140 cents per litre in Canada, many people switch their vehicle to

As a result, consumer is forced to pay for the battery pack which costs around $4,000 from their

Many people buy hybrid cars because they have been told that hybrids are much more eco friendly
than any other vehicles out on the market and they feel proud for supporting the Mother Nature.
Surprisingly, it is a fact that a recent report announced that the Toyota Prius has a higher life time
energy cost than Hummer H1 SUV (kentlaw.edu). It also states, There are, however, environmental
costs to mining and smelting (in Canada) 1,000 tons a year of zinc for the battery powered second

other words, the hybrids emit less carbon dioxide and other gases but it releases far more energies and
toxic gases into atmosphere at production and disposal stage.
In addition, consumer must be aware that there are better alternatives to hybrids on market. Thanks to
advancing technology, many petro powered and diesel powered vehicle get similar EPA fuel economy

Comparing Virtue And Plato s Reason For Death
Plato s reason for we shouldn t fear death is that death separates the soul from the body, allowing us to
seek wisdom, and Epicurus s reason for we shouldn t fear death cannot affect us whether we exist or
not. I will argue that Plato and Epicurus s reasons are not compatible, because in regards to death,
Plato has a spiritual and intellectual view on the soul, whereas Epicurus has a materialistic view on the
soul. Plato s reason on why we shouldn t fear death is that death allows us to seek truth and
knowledge. In Phaedo, Plato first claims that death is the separation of the soul and the body (Phaedo
1). Then, he asserts that the soul belongs to the realm of the forms, and the body belongs to the
physical realm, but the soul is trapped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Plato, he holds the idea on the soul s immortality, which argues that the soul mirrors the essences
of the Forms by being unchangeable and divine, thus belongs to the realm of the forms (Phaedo 4).
Therefore, it leads to his argument that death allows the seeking of wisdom, because for Plato, one s
soul will always exist, and since it belongs to the realm of the forms, it can represent the truth
accurately. For Epicurus, he has the claim that the soul is corporeal, which comes from the premises
that the soul has a two way interaction with the materials, and that it wouldn t be able to do so if it was
incorporeal. As a result, it leads to his premises to his argument on death that death is nothing to us
when we don t exist, because for Epicurus, when one ceases to exist, the person s body and soul
ceases to exist too, so one cannot experience death physically nor mentally, thus it is nothing to us.
The contrast between Plato s spiritual and intellectual view on the soul in regards to death and
Epicurus s materialistic view on the soul in regards to death results in their reason on why we shouldn

Evaluating Csd 363 Is A Practicum Course On Children s...
CSD 363 is a practicum course that gives students the opportunity to provide schools with free speech

opportunity to start practicing skills typically developed in graduate school, and that families receive
valuable services for free. The screenings given are comprised of two parts: the Fluharty Speech and

Under the supervision of a licensed supervisor, students will be giving these screenings and making

The goal is screening a 3 5 year old is to identify any factors that may impact the child s
communication, developmental health, or future academic performance (ASHA). At this age,
screenings may be mandated by a school, recommended by a doctor, or simply requested from a

Organizational Environment And Behavior Method
Abstract
Deutsche Lufthansa AG, also known as Lufthansa (sometimes also as Lufthansa German Airlines), is
the largest German airline and, when combined with its subsidiaries, also the largest airline in Europe,
both in terms of passengers carried and fleet size. In this paper, I will initially examine Lufthansa
organizational environment and behavior method. I will start of by analyzing the collaborative work
environment, specifically discussing collaboration techniques, interaction between leaders and
followers, and supportive communication. Therefore, covering the decision making environment, risk
management, and how the organization resolves conflict through the strategic negotiation process.
Secondly, I will examine its approach to accomplish team building and drive innovation.

way? . Mallick uses The Thin Red Line to ask similar questions about the origin of war and to look to
nature and our origins for answers. Interestingly, if one was to simply listen to The Thin Red Line they
would have no idea that the director uses the film ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The shots that bookend The Thin Red Line represent these two themes, death and the will to survive.
As if to warn and prepare the viewer Mallick begins his film with a crocodile who slowly bellies into a
swamp. As it nearly disappears we understand (with a little help from Zimmer s sinister score) that we
re are looking at an apex predator nearly unchanged from its ancestors of a few million years ago. This
crocodile is genetically geared for killing, and is the animal embodiment of mortality and the
timelessness of death. The final shot of the film contains a single plant growing on a rock which
resides just off shore of a grey landscape. As the wind blows the fickle plant around we are in awe of
its will to overcome the odds and to survive another day. Mallick presents life as defined by this
struggle to survive and the presence of imminent death, this is life for the things of nature, this is life
the way our ancestors once experienced it. Mallick doesn t just draw us to thinking about nature
through images of it, he also links certain basic elements (Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water) to significant

Imagination in the Poetry of Wallace Stevens Essay example
What are Castratos of moon mash? Who are these seemingly real but only partially embodied figures,
which Wallace Stevens mentions almost in passing at line three in his poem, Men Made Out of Words.
As readers, how are we to understand this short ambivalent phrase, which while confounding us
appears to answer the question raised in the previous two lines: What should we be without the sexual
myth, / The human revery or the poem of death (1 2). Stevens does not elaborate on the image of the
moon mashed castratos he has just presented, but instead using a hyphen formulates and finishes the
relatively short ten line poem. One can argue that this second part of the poem could even be a
separate strophe from the lines already noted, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stevens makes this fact apparent from the beginning of the poem, when he notes not only human
revery but also the sexual myth and the poem of death (1). Therefore, these defined formulations are
only categories of a greater whole, which remains unmentioned in the poem. In deliberating on
Stevens s poems, we can come to understand this encompassing whole as the imagination, which
impels an individual to make eccentric propositions about his or her life and fate (4 5, 10). In his
essay, Imagination as Value, Stevens reminds us that the imagination is the power of the mind over the
possibilities of things [...] it is the source not of a single value but of as many values as can reside in
the possibilities of things (136). With these words in mind and from what we have already noted in
Men Made Out of Words, we can assert that the possibilities of things, mentioned in the essay, are the
same as the reveries, poems, and myths, hinted at in the poem; however, one needs to clarify the
difference between the possibilities of things and the things themselves. For Stevens, the imagination
is metaphysical or something which resides in the abstract but at the time it serves as the only clue to
reality [i.e. things] (137); therefore it is through the imagination that reality derives its possibilities i.e.
its myths, reveries, and poems. In Stevens argument, the imagination is the liberator

The Three Types Of Carilage In The Human Body
There are three types of cartilages which are the hyaline cartilage, elastic cartilage, and fibrocartilage.
The hyaline cartilage is the most abundant cartilage in the human body that provides a firm support
with pliability. Examples of the hyaline cartilage are the articular, costal, respiratory, and nasal
cartilage. The elastic cartilage is a cartilage that is more flexible than the hyaline cartilage. Examples
of the elastics cartilage are external ear and epiglottis. The fibrocartilage is a cartilage that is highly
compressible with thick collagen fibers. Examples of the fibrocartilage are the menisci of the knee and
discs between the vertebrae.
The bones have seven important parts that play a role in the human body which are support,
protection, movement, mineral and growth factor storage, blood cell formation, triglyceride storage,
and hormone production. Support are when the bones provide a framework of the body and soft
organs. Protection is when the bones that protect the brain which is called the skull, the vertebrae
protects the spinal cord and the rib cage protects the vital organs. Movement is also known as
anchorage are attached by tendons to help our body move by walking, grabbing objects, and
breathing. Mineral and growth factor storage is when the bone or bones are filled with calcium and
phosphorus to make the bones grow. The blood cell formation is also known as hematopoiesis occurs
in the red blood arrow in certain bones. Triglyceride storage also known as

Argumentative Essay On Gambling
Online Gambling
Most of us have heard of fantasy football. Online fantasy has risen in popularity over the past couple
of years, due to advances in technology. With this rise in popularity, it has raised eyebrows at the state
and federal government levels. There are many grey areas when it comes to gambling online, that
many people still don t understand. Many questions are being asked, such as legal transactions with
credit cards, is online gambling causing a problem with a rise in gambling addiction? Over the course
of this report, I will go over the good and the bad of making online gambling legal and regulated.
Do you feel it is important to do what you want with your money, without federal or state government
telling you what you can and can t do? This is an argument that is very popular among those who
support online gambling legalization and regulation. They try to show the attack on a free society. If
five poker enthusiasts want to voluntarily play online, and if a private company wants to provide the
technology for that to happen in exchange for a fee, why do members of Congress feel obligated to
prevent that from happening? (Balko)
A lot of people also feel that the government is hypocritical when it comes to gambling. State lotteries
are a big subject to supporters of online gambling.
Last month [February 2006], police in Fairfax, Va., conducted a SWAT [Special Weapons and Tactics]
raid on Sal Culosi Jr., an optometrist suspected of running a sports gambling

  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Planned Parenthood Planned Parenthood Federation of America or the PPFA provides healthcare for millions of men and women across the globe. They provide many reproductive services and they have offices all around the globe. They have sex education information to help inform people of the risks some actions, like sex, can lead to and how to be safe. Many people think planned parenthood should be defended, but Planned Parenthood should continue to be funded because they provide safe abortion services, STD testing which includes treatment as well, along with women s health care services. One of the many women s services that Planned Parenthood implements into their organization is safe, medically supervised, legal abortions. Most of the individuals who are not in favor of funding Planned Parenthood are solely against it because of the abortion services that this organization provides. Without safe and legal abortions, the increase of unsafe abortions would increase and some people may take drastic measures (Baptiste). In developing countries and counties where abortion is not legal there are many safe abortions performed that could be avoided if proper care was allowed (Baptiste). In this article Baptiste says, In El Salvador, a 1998 law went into effect that made abortion illegal with no exceptions including rape, life of the mother, or incest. Women who are found guilty of having an abortion face two to eight year in prison. This could promote unhealthy solutions to terminate an unwanted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Reflection Paper On Counseling Session One: I administered the A.P.S. and did a data inventory. She was quite interested but skeptical of what information would come from the profile. Rebecca is in a local seminary studying Christian counseling. We have had many opportunities to compare the training we are receiving. I have been honored to proofread and advise her on papers. She is extremely proficient in the writing and research process, and she has helped me grow in that process. Session Two: We began with prayer. Rebecca is 29 years old and single. She is an energetic young lady who is working two part time jobs in addition to going to a local seminary working toward a Masters in Christian Counseling. Aspirin Rey Syndrome Aspirin and Reye Syndrome Reye Syndrome (RS), a disease resulting in encephalopathy, fatty degeneration of the liver, persistent vomiting, combativeness, and potentially death has become a topic of concern for public health officials. RS occurs among children, 18 years and younger, who have experienced a viral disease, such as influenza or varicella, and consumed aspirin or salicylates. Once the onset of RS occurs, the disease has the potential to progress rapidly to a deep coma, and even death. According to various studies, RS has a mortality rate in the United States of 20 40%. Compared to the children receiving long term aspirin therapy whom did not develop RS, these symptoms are strongly associated with RS. The animal experimental study results found that those with an arginine deficient diet and influenza infection and/or aspirin treatment had increased levels of SOCTase, SGOT levels, and liver lipids, and eventually went into a deep coma. Serum ammonia levels were also elevated among these groups. This study however does not correlate well with humans, as an arginine deficient diet would exceed the levels used within the ferrets. German forces continued receiving regular air strikes by allied forces near Eindhoven, Deelen, Ede, and airfields in Holland. Paratroopers of the airborne assault boarded their planes and began travel to their drop sites. The operation used over two thousand aircraft, between troop carriers and assault aircraft, to get the paratroopers close enough to assault into their objectives. By approximately 1400 hours local time on the 17th, an estimate of 20,000 troops landed in vicinity of their planned drop zones. Ever since organizations and agreements like the North American Free Trade (NAFTA) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were created around the end of World War 2 to supposedly help the Third World nations to establish better economies and governments, they have only done more harm than good for these nations. These third world countries end up becoming exploited and extorted, forced to become dependent on the big international organizations like the IMF because of the exorbitant interest rates charged on them, thus they remain forever in debt. As these authors point out, the terms of the loans reflect the economic and political interests and values of the world s wealthiest nations (470) . It is seen here already that that does not bode well for Zambia. One clearly can see that globalization is just another way first world nations still colonize the world, but instead through means of economic and trade conquests. And what are changes without its consequences? Because the IMF favored the growth of international markets, the local economy in Zambia suffered greatly. Devalued ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Middle Range Theory Of Postpartum Depression Theory Essay Middle Range Theory Paper: Analysis of Postpartum Depression Theory Description of Theory In 1993, Beck published a middle range theory on postpartum depression, entitled Teetering on the Edge. Beck, (1993, p. 44) which describes walking on a fine line between sanity and insanity . Beck determined a limited amount of qualitative research available and few instruments for measurement of postpartum depression, postpartum psychosis, and maternity blues . Beck interviewed 12 women for 18 months detailed their experiences, and determined the main perceived problem was a loss of control (Beck, 1993). Beck s theory is one that is centered in phenomenology and produced a concise and testable theory (Marsh, 2013). Loss of control is broken down into four stages: encountering terror, dying of self, struggling to survive, and regaining control (Beck, 1993). Beck, 2002, has developed two screening tools (Postpartum Depression Screening Scale and Postpartum Depression Inventory System) to evaluate risk factors and symptoms. Encountering terror is an initial response to feeling out of control, described as being trapped with no means of escape (Beck, 1993). Stage II is highlighted by a reported feeling of loss of former self and feeling internally void of caring or emotion, likened to that of a robot (Beck,1993). Struggling to survive is recognized by the inability to carry on activities of daily living, including eating and bathing. This is the stage where many seek assistance and ... The Shaping Of Our Country Celeste Munoz U.S History I to 1876 Mr. William Stowe 28 November 2014 The shaping of our country has been impacted by several different factors, each contributing to it in their own way. Four of the major pivot points that occurred consists of: Jeffersonian democracy, Jacksonian democracy, Civil War/Reconstruction, Revolution/Constitution. However one of them happened to be the most impacting which was the Civil War and Reconstruction. The American Civil War occurred during 1861 to 1865, lasting only five years. America s bloodiest clash resulting in the death of approximately 620,000 Americans and millions more were injured. In the spring of 1861, the north and south began to rise into conflict over issues like states rights. Other conflicts include federal authority, westward expansion and slavery. When Lincoln was elected president in 1860, seven states seceded from the union and they formed the confederate states. After the first shots were fired four more states joined the confederate states. Abraham s election was the rising point to long debate over the federal and state governments. The war can be viewed in many ways. One as the final violent stages in a conflict of two regions. Another as the breakdown of the political system of the Democratic Party and as the max point of several years of social reform. Or also viewed as the main chapter in America s racial history. To the British, Sir Winston Churchill was indeed a great leader, and he is most well known for rallying and leading the British during the Second World during his term as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, inspiring them with a belief in their victory and justice of their cause. However, not all of his actions were ethically sound , or morally good or correct, possessing and displaying moral virtue, as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary. Even though his intentions were for the good of his people and country, the actions that Churchill took in trying to reach his final goal were not always ethically sound. Therefore, I agree with the quote and in this essay I will be evaluating the extent to which some of his decisions and actions were ethical or not. One of the most controversial actions taken by Winston Churchill was the decision to bomb Berlin in 1940. The Model Of The Osi Network Model Five Layer Approach Abstract The current OSI network model has been around for a long time and with the current transition of network use we need a model that has the ability to adapt. The ideas which bought OSI into existence still apply today and even though it is having to keep up with new technologies it is still the basis to our network models which are in place today. 1. Introduction The OSI data model originated in 1977 and this model contained the original seven layer protocol. The model has since been modified to be used with the changing protocols of the network whilst keeping the seven layers. The seven layer OSI model has been able to cope with the updates but there are duplications of operations which creates a redundancy in the model. 2. Proposed System The OSI data model allows different operations to be performed in one layer but with the changing technologies we are able perform more tasks simultaneously. The OSI model doesn t fully utilise this technology, this is why the proposed system performs all the same operations whilst having less layers. The system which is being proposed is a five layer system which still contains an Application layer. The five layer system also has a Transport Layer, Network Layer and a physical layer similar to the original OSI system. 3. However, there is a possibility that medical conditions could arise, such as a baby who is positioned incorrectly, preeclampsia, or toxemia. Therefore, a cesarean delivery is the safest way. Most believe that subsequent pregnancies require subsequent C sections. Today, many mothers are opting for VBACs aka vaginal birth after C sections. A C Section, or Cesarean Section, is a major surgery to deliver a baby who may suffer from complications or could be breech. They may also be done in response to the mother and the complications that she may have. It is done by cutting through the wall of the mother s abdomen. The simple methods of staining impart same color to all types of bacteria and other biological materials. The principle behind this differentiation is due to the variation in physical and chemical properties of the cell. Consequently, reaction occurs differently to reagents. In handling of the sputum when testing for the presence of bacteria pathogen one has to ensure that there is no extraneous bacteria to contaminate the specimen. The sample is refrigerated for a maximum of twenty four hours. The sample should not be frozen or stored at room temperature. Ensure that the minimum amounts of the present antibiotics that inhibit bacterial growth are not visible to the eye. One should differentiate pathogenic and normal flora bacteria. The identification of the bacteria is a step by step process that involves biochemical, molecular and immunological tests and observations. To determine the viable bacterial numbers in the sputum sample, the sample is homogenized with dithiothreitol and glass beads in order to determine the method which recovered the greatest number of viable bacteria. In Western Europe they were much nicer to the Jews they gave them shelter food and helped them get back on there feet. Here is a quote from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum website from before the Holocaust There they were housed in hundreds of refugee centers and displaced persons (DP) camps such as Bergen Belsen in Germany. The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) and the occupying armies of the United States, Great Britain, and France administered these camps. A considerable number and variety of Jewish agencies worked to assist the Jewish displaced persons. The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee provided Holocaust survivors with food and clothing, while the Organization for Rehabilitation through Training (ORT) offered vocational training. Refugees also formed their own organizations, and many labored for the establishment of an independent Jewish state in Palestine. The western countries were much nicer they helped Jewish people get shelter and food. Arthur: The Ripple of American Politics For my presentation, I would like to present a president not known much in this time and age but one who, in 1880, made drastic changes to the American government. This man was Chester A. Arthur. The following material is what I have learned in American Government for only but one year, I have still learned more than what I already knew at the beginning of my high school career. I have gained a better understanding of the American political system as well as the history of the system. This act also allowed specific federal government jobs be given based on how well an employee does instead of political connections. Another event was his almost successful attempt to lower the tariffs. He vetoed the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, only to have the veto overrode by Congress. Militarily he wanted to have the modernization of the U.S. Navy (. In conclusion, I applied what I have learned from American Government to give an informative view into a president who had a somewhat important role in the American political system 136 years ago which still applies to today. • 27. The Lady With The Pet Dog Analysis The Lady with the Pet Dog written by Anton Chekhov and The Lady with the Pet Dog written by Joyce Carol Oates illustrate what goes through the mind when committing adultery. Both are tales of love lost and love found, including romances with adulterous spouses and secret meetings. The Lady with the Pet Dog written by Chekhov and Oates present the actions and decisions of two very unhappy married individuals, whom one could say meet by chance. In both short stories the plot line is extraordinarily similar; both love affairs end up finding true love from each other; however, the emotions and general idea differ from the point of view analyzed. Although both short stories illustrate immensely similar qualities, the short story by Joyce Carol Oates is more effective in three main areas. The three main areas where Oates story is more effective include the use of the female characters, the use of point of views, and the use of dogs. Throughout the two short stories, both interpret the use of the female characters excitingly different. The short story written by Chekhov interprets the female, Anna, as the female who can handle committing adultery while only breaking down/crying a few times. On the other hand, the story written by Oates interprets the female, Anna, as a female who can t handle committing adultery where she cuts herself (thinking about suicide) and almost to the point where she goes crazy. In Chekhov s story the female is best examined through the quotation: Anna Sergeyevna and he loved each other as people do who are very close and intimate, like man and wife, like tender friends; it seemed to them that fate itself had meant them for one another... (Chekhov 224). This quotation by the narrator best explains that Anna Sergeyevna is a happy woman with her secret husband and she has accepted that they have to live in secret. But, Anna is okay with that because it seems as if fate has brought them together, although she questions it at the beginning of the story. On the contrary, in Oates s story the female is best explained through the quotation: She was certain of that. Social Care services sector s role is to deliver social care systems which offer care equality for all individuals, while allowing people to retain their independence, dignity and control. During the past 20 years the need for social care services in the UK slightly increased. This is mainly due to demographic factors such as an increasing aging population. There are 3 different types of referrals: self referral, professional referral and third party referral, each of them involves different process. Self referral is when individuals suspects by themselves that they have some problems with their social issues. Therefore, they self refer to a social care specialist in order to receive the help and support that they need. Professional referral is when a service user already contacted or used the service; however if the professional suspects any kind of underlying health problem, the patient will be referred directly to another professional. For example if the social worker suspects a child abuse in the family, he/she may refer the child to a counsellor or psychologist to sort out the problem. Third party referral, is when a non professional person such as relative, friend or neighbour contacts with the services in order to help the individual they know about. For Epicurus, he has the claim that the soul is corporeal, which comes from the premises that the soul has a two way interaction with the materials, and that it wouldn t be able to do so if it was incorporeal. Stevens makes this fact apparent from the beginning of the poem, when he notes not only human revery but also the sexual myth and the poem of death (1). Therefore, these defined formulations are only categories of a greater whole, which remains unmentioned in the poem. In deliberating on Stevens s poems, we can come to understand this encompassing whole as the imagination, which impels an individual to make eccentric propositions about his or her life and fate (4 5, 10). In his essay, Imagination as Value, Stevens reminds us that the imagination is the power of the mind over the possibilities of things [...] it is the source not of a single value but of as many values as can reside in the possibilities of things (136). With these words in mind and from what we have already noted in Men Made Out of Words, we can assert that the possibilities of things, mentioned in the essay, are the same as the reveries, poems, and myths, hinted at in the poem; however, one needs to clarify the difference between the possibilities of things and the things themselves. For Stevens, the imagination is metaphysical or something which resides in the abstract but at the time it serves as the only clue to reality [i.e. things] (137); therefore it is through the imagination that reality derives its possibilities i.e. its myths, reveries, and poems.
