a deep understanding of Plath's life, her literary works, and the intricate themes woven into her
poetry. Sylvia Plath's writings, particularly "Daddy," delve into complex psychological and

marked by struggles with mental health and personal relationships, further complicates the task
of capturing the essence of her poetry.

The Importance Of Being Earnest Or Wilde Essay
This semester in Drama 1101: Intro to Theate we are required to read and attend
plays that confront social and aesthetic issues. I have a love for plays and
broadway productions. So, when enroll in the course I knew that this will be
something I will enjoy. I learned so much and enjoy the overall class experiences.
The first play that we were required to attend is The Importance of Being Earnest,
by Oscar Wilde. The importance of being Earnest one of the most remarkable
works of satire and criticism not only in the Victorian age, but also nowadays,
since it discloses many aristocratic behaviors that seems to be very weird and funny
at the same time. the several interpretations of this play may be considered as an
enough reason for explaining the wit and cleverness of Oscar Wilde. The overall
play fit well within the space of the theatrebecause the layout corresponds with the
flow of the play. The play itself didn t need a large or over the top spacing because
of its few actors. Throughout the play there were at least two to three actors sharing
the stage. The play was done on a prosceniumtheatre and it is stage outlined by what
is called the proscenium arch. This arch is architectural in nature and serves as a
picture frame surrounding the view of the action on stage. The layout of the stages
gives the actors the ability to use the apron more often especially when there s a
moment between actors or an actorby themselves. For example, there were moment
between Jack and Gwendolen that they were in conversation in the apron area also
Cecily and Algernon. The actors use that part of the stage because it gives the
audience a better view and it flowed with the play itself. The architecture of the
theatre adds to the performance by extended the stage to bring about more in the
actors to fully enhance the character. There were choices made by the actors and the
director that help make the production a success. Each actor took the acting methods
that best fit the character they were playing and done things that enhance the
feedback of the play. The actors seem very believable in the roles. They fully
embody the character in many ways from the way they walk, and even the facial
The Harlem Renaissance In The 1950 s
With the end of slavery came new freedoms for the African American and African
American communities but freedom also came with new challenges. During this
time, segregation laws were in place limiting African Americans and portraying them
as second class citizens. In the 1920 s, the idea of a new identity for the African
American, one that was equal to the white majority, would take root and the Harlem
Renaissancewould begin in New York. Although there were numerous artists who
participated in the movement, poets Langston Hughes, Claude McKay, and Countee
Cullen are amongst some of the most prominent figures whom represent the Harlem
Renaissance. In the 1950 s, with the end of World War II, came a new group of
poets and artists who voiced their criticism on a wide variety of social issues creating
the Beat Movement, or Beat Generation. Allen Ginsburg, Gregory Corso, and Diane
di Prima are a few of the many artists who participated in the Beat Movement calling
for a spread of awareness and societal change. For these poets, it seemed as though no
topic was too taboo such as capitalism, war, American Culture, the use of religion,
consumerism, and environmental issues. While both were influential movements in
American history, the Harlem Renaissance was a movement which sought to unify
African American communities by encouraging the adoption of a new image
whereas the Beat Movement used individual expression to promote change for a
variety of social issues. Three great

The Americans fought beside the British for a figure of reasons, but the mainly
important reason was economic in nature. The American Revolution was fought for
diverse ideas that were significant in those times. The economy in America was not
the greatest, and people had to sustain all the instructions from Great Britain as this
was their home country. Consequently, the British prohibited the economy of North
America. Several Americans thought that the British were building injustices through
the American economy and this was the major reason for the revolution. The
American Revolution had their standard figures in the moderate people, who thought
that Great Britain was doing prejudices within the colonies. One of the liberal

Nigeria and Afghanistan are two very different Nations, on different continents,
with different languages, but no matter where you are from everyone grew up
somewhere, and kids of every nation grow up the same as everyone else. Growing
up in a certain environment can lead to different personalities and traits, kids with
an overly controlled childhood can become ignorant of the real world, and kids who
grow up spoiled don t learn to do things on their own. In both Purple Hibiscus by
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini the main
character, Amir and Kambili respectively, both show great development and change
over the course of the Novels, they both change in their self perception, how they
handle themselves and interact with others, and how they utilize faith.
Over the course of the book each character grew into their own and changing
entirely their self perception, and how they act based on self perception. At the
beginning of the kite runner Amir sees himself as weak, and as a coward, when

Essay on Eating Disorders
Eating Disorders
An eating disorder is a way of using food to work out emotional problems. These
illnesses develop because of emotional and/or psychological problems. Eating
disorders are the way some people deal with stress. In today s society, teenagers are
pressured into thinking that bring thin is the same thing as being happy. Chemical
balances in the brain that may also result in depression, obsessive compulsive
disorders, and bi polar disorders may also cause some eating disorders. Other causes
may be emotional events, illnesses, marital or family problems, manic depression, or
ending a relationship. Over eight million Americans suffer from eating disorders.

Victorian women kept with the ideals of the time by refusing food and restricting
any intake. A hearty appetite was said to represent sexuality and a lack of self
control, which was strictly prohibited for women. The era was emphasized by
spirituality, which also had an impact on the restriction of meat. Ironically, most of
the women were large, as common meals were high in starches. Medical evidence
of the existence of anorexia has been documented as far back as 1873. It was
decided that this refusal of food was to attract attention. An American neurologist,
Silas Weir Mitchell saw anorexia as a form of neurasthenia, a nervous disorder
characterized by nervous exhaustion and lack of motivation. Mitchell thought the
disease was caused by any stressful life situation in combination with social pressure.
Treatment was a so called parentectomy, which was removal from the home, and
force feeding, if necessary. Mitchell preferred the pampering method, consisting of a
diet low in fats, total seclusion, bed rest, and massage therapy. Sigmund Freud, a
psychiatrist from Vienna, believed that anorexia was a physical manifestation of an
emotional conflict. He believed that anorexia might be linked to the subconscious
desire to prevent normal sexual development. In the 1930s, doctors theorized that the
only way to permanently recover from anorexia was to

Upper Class
The upper class were 10% of the population and lived a good life, but also
depended on loyalty. The feudal system is made out of many classes, and the most
privileged class was the upper class. The upper class is made out of nobles,
including the king and his vassals. They got most of the benefits from the work that
serfs did. Noblewomen had the job of looking after the household. When the Lord
was gone, his role was taken over by his wife. She would make sure that their
children learned manners and etiquette. The food that Nobles eat included beef, pork,
goat, lamb, rabbit, poultry and fish compared to the ones that serfs ate, which
included bread, porridge, vegetables, and some meat. Nobles had these benefits, but if

Workers work for whatever their local lord needs, having little to no rights overall.
Serfs are bound to the land that they work on, having almost no control over their
own lives. They aren t allowed to be traded but they aren t allowed to leave their
land, either. They serve nobles and pay taxes to their lord (Richardson). A worker
would owe the local lord obligations the same way the knight would owe his lord
obligations. The workers would owe loyalty, obligations, and allegiance to their
local lord, just as the local ward owed allegiance to the king. The local lord also
has obligations to follow, making it a fair trade. In exchange for the local lord s
protection, a group of peasants agreed give him supplies and perform work, such
as farming for him.The lord would also give the serf right to take resources from
his land, such as water, and to use his land to make food and a home. If the serf
leaves, the serf also lost a way to feed themselves and gave up their lord s military
and legal protection. They also lose the right to get water in the wells/springs and
to gather wood from his forests (Nardo 25). If the serf escapes for long enough
without being found, he will become a freeman, meaning that he isn t bound to the
land anymore. Serfs were treated poorly and were in charge of doing most of the
work, having little to no rights at

Although the source is admittedly different, these levels are very much higher
than those found in outdoor urban background sites in the UK (around 15 g/m3).
Both epidemiological and experimental studies have shown that indoor air pollution
has serious consequences for health, especially in women and children.
Conditions such as acute lower respiratory infection, particularly pneumonia in
children, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer and cataract
are the major illnesses associated with or caused by indoor air pollution (World
Health Organization,
2002). Exposure to smoke from solid fuel increases the risk of COPD by
approximately threefold in adults, and the risk is much higher in women who do the
cooking (Kurmi et al, 2010). Worldwide, indoor air pollution accounts for 2 million
deaths annually
(United Nations Development Programme, 2009) and
2.7% of the loss of disability adjusted life years (DALYs;
World Health Organization, 2002). In developing countries, 44% of these deaths
occur in children, and 60% of the adult deaths occur in women (United
Nations Development Programme, 2009).
Apart from the local health effects, the burning of solid fuels can also have a much
wider impact on the environment. Although
Sustainable Development Of Private Enterprise
The primary objective of these two books is the sustainable development of private
enterprise, and despite fact that they have been in existence for a couple of years
since production, the content and key topics remain extremely pertinent to current
arguments about sustainability of the environment, and climatic change. The
commitment made by the two books is best comprehended by viewing them in
connection to the idea of sustainable development.
The two books begin by a thought of sustainability that does not debilitate but rather
is perfect and well matched with capitalism, fully supports it and does not threat a
wage labor scheme of producing products for profit. According to John Ikerd s book
Sustainable Capitalism: A Matter of Common Sense tries to challenge, the inherent
lack of sustainability in the neoclassical paradigm. It also supports a new method for
accomplishing maintainable capitalism. According to Ikerd (2005), neoclassical
economic matters are the reason behind the absence of sustainability in the United
States agricultural sector, and the broader American economy. Along these lines, he
attempts to build up other economics of sustainability in view of standards of living
frameworks that are self sufficient and fit for regeneration. Ikerd (2005) he claims
that sustainability is considered to be the most obvious aspect by those firmly
associated with the earth (on the same page) for which, in his view, he is
appropriately qualified, having been brought up
The Theory Of Goal Attainment
In 1981 Imogene King introduced her mid range Theory of Goal Attainment (this
theory has also been referred to as the theory of goal achievement (Johnson and
Webber, 2010)). This theory is based on the grand theory called the Conceptual
System, also created by King (Frey et al: 2002). To understand the more focused mid
range theory it is important to first quickly understand the conceptual system.
The conceptual system was created using systems analysis and systems theory
literature (Johnson and Webber, 2010). It was originally referred to as a conceptual
framework, but King changed the terminology in 1997 to Conceptual System (Frey
et al, 2002). The conceptual system focused on decision making in nursing. It is
organized around three systems; Personal Systems which pertain to the individual,
Interpersonal Systems which pertain to small groups, and Social Systems which
pertain to the society as a whole. King saw these three interacting systems as part of
the larger decision making process of human beings (Frey et al, 2002).
The Theory of Goal Attainment is a middle range theory derived from King s
Conceptual System. The Theory of Goal Attainment focuses on the interactions
between the personal, interpersonal, and social systems. Frey et al (2002) describes
the central concepts of the theory as perception, communication, interaction,
transaction, self, role, growth and development, stressors/stress, time, and space. Four
specific concepts within the theory; perception,
Human Nature Of Frankenstein
Up to this day, scientists and theologians still try to figure out the meaning of life and
the purpose of humans, but what about what makes a human, what characteristics and
actions define a human? Stephen Covey states that Every human has four
endowments self awareness, conscience, independent will, and imagination. These
give us the ultimate humanfreedom.....The power to choose, to respond, to change
(Stephen Covey). In the book Frankensteinby Mary Shelley, Will Franz, the monster
is essentially more human because he displays the four endowments far more
throughout the book than his creator Victor Frankenstein.
To begin with, Will Franz displays the first endowment, self awareness in a way
that is relatable to many. Upon seeing the De Laceys, Will is astonished by their
presence Their grace, beauty... but how was I terrified when I viewed myself in a
transparent pool! When I became fully convinced that I was, in reality, the monster
that I am, I was filled with the bitterest sensations... (12.13). As humans, it s easy to
compare oneself to someone that is perceived to be better than oneself and
although Victor is truly human he tends to display a figure of superiority and tends
to have it all together which in reality no one does. In the quote, we see how Will
upon seeing the beautiful De Laceys instantly looks at his reflection in comparison
and is immediately discouraged at what he sees. Speaking for most people, it doesn t
matter how beautiful or graceful one is

The Problem Of Higher Tuition
During the last few decades, a recent trend has been occurring: students are
increasingly acquiring more student debt. According to the College Board and U.S.
Census data, over the last few decades, the cost of a 4 year college degree has risen
by 250 percent (Washington and Salmon 38). According to the same data, the average
family income has only risen 16 percent during that time period (Washington and
Salmon 38). This information proves that there is a serious problem going on, as
there is clearly a shortage of income needed to pay for college. Therefore, students are
having to take out larger educational loans. As a result, there has now been an
intensive obligation to find out the factors contributing to this trend. Higher tuition is
an obvious cause, but in order to understand the issue at hand, the unnoticeable causes
need to be addressed. Students are obtaining large amounts of student debtbecause of
a higher influx of qualified applicants, expectations of an ideal campus, and students
being uneducated about the loans they are taking. One cause of the increase in
student borrowing is an increased amount of applicants. There has been a growth of
students extending their educationto postsecondary schooling, which means a higher
output of college applications. Unfortunately, institutions can not properly adjust to
this change and accept students at the same rate. In fact, in 2013 the U.S. Census
Bureau reported that during the prior fall semester nationwide,

Breathe Easy: A Health Promotion Model On Asthma Management In School Age (7
11 Year Old) Children
Introduction
Health is the state of complete physical, mental and social well being, not merely the
absence of disease or infirmity (from WHO, 1946, in Park, 2005) and Health
Promotion has been defined as an enterprise involving the development over time, in
individuals and communities, of basic and positive states of and conditions for
physical, mental and social health (Raeburn and Rootman, 1998, p.11). This idea of
health promotion has been borne out of acceptance of the limitations of curative
medicine and therefore, the need to refocus upstream (Kemm and Close, 1995, p.7).
And it is these principles we have adopted in the development ... Show more content

Furthermore, the age and stage of development of primary school children provides a
unique opportunity for health education (Perkins, et al, 1999, p.177).
It is therefore not surprising that asthma education and behavioural contingency plan
in school aged children (7 11 years) has been shown to improve health outcomes
(Burkhart, 2007). The role of the school based environment in improving outcomes
has also been pointed out by Halterman et al, 2004.
Objectives of the Model
Health promotion has been defined as an enterprise at the heart of which are the two
key concepts of development and empowerment. Therefore, in line with this and
among others, the main objectives of our model include:
1. 1. Increasing asthma awareness among all school children and specifically helping
asthmatics in the understanding of their condition and development of personal
skills, eventually culminating in self management. It is hoped that this will help to
maximise the integration of children with asthma into all aspects of school and
community life as advocated by Bury, et al. (2007).
2.
.
3. 2. Creating supportive environment in schools, in line with the WHO s Settings
Approach for health promotion. This involves the total environment including the
schools physical environment; the development of health enhancing policies and the
involvement of the school staff in health education programmes. (Nutbeam et aI,
1990). The aim of this
Athletic Trainers and Exercise Physiologists
Prevention, recognition, managing, and rehabilitation of sport related injuries are the
primary goal for athletic trainers deal. Athletic trainers specialize in preventing,
diagnosing, and treating muscles and bone injuries and illnesses. Exercise
physiologists develop fitness and exercise programs that help patients recover from
diseases and improve cardiovascular, body composition, flexibility and overall health.
An important point to note is that athletic trainers and exercisephysiologists should
not be confused with fitness trainers and instructors, including personal trainers.
Athletic trainers and exercise physiologists assist athletes with avoiding and
rehabbing unnecessary medical treatment and disruption of normal daily activities.
Athletic trainers watch over athletes in programs to maintain physical fitness and
prevent injury also analyzing, improving, and maintaining the health and fitness of
their patients. Their main objective is to make sure people of all ages and all skill
levels, from young children to soldiers and professional athletes are at their best
fitness level, healthy, and injury free.
Athletic trainers work with people of all ages and all skill levels, from young
children to soldiers and professional athletes. Athletic trainers and exercise
physiologists also organize workout plans, look over patients medical history to
determine the best protocol for that particular patient and supervise physical
examinations before the actual season starts.

Many people are familiar with the second amendment. However, this amendment

right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed This has been

that our society has changed since this amendment has been written. This was made
around the time of the Revolutionary War. During that time all males citizens were
required to own guns because they were fighting against the British forces. Virginia
has the best interpretation of the second amendment. Before the Declaration of

Role of Poetry in Narrative Prose of the Heian Period Essay
Japanese literature in the Heian period was most popular for its domination of
women s culture (Hooker, Richard). During this time, a new writing technique was
implemented called hiragana. This was especially accepted as a woman s way of
writing since a woman knowing Chinese characters was considered unladylike. For
many years Chinese characters was the only accepted way of writing, thus the birth
of a new writing technique was like a revelation. This incorporation made a huge
impact on Japanese literature, since long before it existed, most techniques were
adopted from the Chinese. The most popular works during this time included various

The earliest full fledge narrative is Taketori monogatari, also known as The
Bamboo Cutter. The author is unknown, but said to be a woman since written in
kana, since only men knew kanji and Chinese characters. It is a story of Kaguya
Hime, a moon princess, who is also immortal, and who was sent to earth as
punishment. Her founder finds her in bamboo, when she is only inches tall, and
he takes her in as his own daughter and raises her, loves her as his own, and is
devastated when she has to go back. The imagery in this tale is so strong. You can
see and imagine all of the places where the suitors lie about or actually do go to.
The imagination needed to create such an in depth story is truly amazing. The
most popular and lasting piece is Genji monogatari written by Murasaki Shikibu.
Genji monogatari is most well known for being one of the greatest novels in world
literature. The story is not accepted by all women since it reveals the type of man
Genji was. He was known to rape and kidnap women and a lot of women still get
angry with this. Still today, women do not like Genji. The role of poetryin Genji is to
play into the character that Genji is supposed to be. In the story he is handsome
and loved by all, but also makes love to a lot of women all the time. He writes
poems about his relationships with women, good and bad. In the story he is perfect,
including the fact that he is a perfect

could as well affect the antacid titration. One question I have after this experiment is
that, how the increasing of mole of the tablet would affect the titration? This
experimental work can be related to lecture on how acid and acid bases interact to
each other, and also this experiment give a better understanding on term pH. A real

outcomes can include a larger share of a customer s businesses as a result of activities
such as cross selling and up selling. When CRM works, it helps to solve this problem
by meshing everyone together and focusing the entire organization on the customer.
CRM requires commitment and understanding throughout the company not just in

The Life of Zora Neale Hurston Essay
Zora Neale Hurston, known as one of the most symbolic African American women
during the Harlem Renaissance in the 1930 s. Hurston was known as a non fiction
writer, anthropologist and folklorist. Hurston s literature has served as a big eye
opener during the Harlem Renaissance, celebrating black dialect and their traditions.
Most of her published stories depict relationships among black residents in her native
southern Florida, was largely unconcerned with racial injustices (Bomarito 89).
Hurston was unique when it came to her racial point of views, promoting white
racism instead of black racism. Even though her works had been forgotten by the time
of her death, now her literature has left a bigger impact to future literature... Show

Kaplan 2). This struggle was the beginning of her independence from her relatives
and her coming of age. Setting her independence, Hurston at the age of 14 left her
residence to work as a maid of a traveling Gilbert and Sullivan theatrical troupe.
Given the opportunity Hurston was sent to Morgan Academy in Baltimore,
Maryland by one of her employers. Finishing up her high school studies in Morgan
Academy and graduating on June 1918, Hurston studied part time at Howard
University in the same year. While Hurston studied in college she decided to
support herself as a manicurist, a waitress, and a maid in order to support herself
(D. Kaplan 2). Hurston s talent towards literature started to emerge while studying
at Howard. She made such an impact in her first short story titled, John Redding
Goes to Sea in 1921, that it was included in the university s literary magazine named
Stylus . Sociologist Charles S. Johnson, immediately caught the attention of such
excellent work who also encouraged Hurston to move to New York City in the year
of 1925 (Bomarito 89). Beside Johnson mentoring her to go to New York he also
inspired her to enter the literary contest of his magazine entitled Opportunity: A
Journal of Negro Life. Even though Hurston was economically unstable at this point,
her dreams and goals were not because her mind was set to

David slowly starts convincing Tally that flaws aren t important. Maybe he really
could see past her ugly face. Maybe what was inside her did matter to him more
than anything else (Westerfeld 264). Tally thought being pretty only mattered on
the outside. When she met David, he showed her that it s okay to not look or be
perfect. David showed Tally that don t matter as much as she thought they did.
Shay tries to prove to Tally that being unique is better than falling into what society
deems pretty. We don t have to look like everyone else, Tally, and act like everyone
else. We ve got a choice. We can grow up any way we want (Westerfeld 86). The
author writes this passage to show that being unique and your own self is more
important than fitting in. Being different from others shows one s true identity, and
all of the extraordinary things about someone. At the beginning of the Uglies, we see
how all of the uglies call each other by their flaws. They think that their flaws are
identifying them in a negative way. Therefore, throughout Tally s journey, the author
tries to show that having flaws shouldn t be negative. That having flaws are what

Dr. Constance Peterson s Spellbound, A Film Production...
First, the old maid characterizes female scientist who is only interested in work as
if she was married to it. The spectators will have no doubt of her scientific
competence. Nonetheless, as a woman, she is definitely lacking of something. She
does not necessarily appear as an old lady, but she does appear bespectacled. In
addition, she is depicted to have an old fashioned style. Throughout the course of the
film, this femaleprotagonist will undergo a transformation, a character development.
Then, a man will appear and change her life. This particular man is going to show
her a way of love which is way out of her routine rationality. A character which best
illustrates this first stereotype is Dr. Constance Peterson in Spellbound, a 1945
movie production directed by David O. Selznick (Flicker 311).
Second, the male woman is portrayed as a member of male team who can stand on
her on by learning to be assertive within her male colleague environment, have a
rough and harsh voice, dress practically and tend to acquire unhealthy lifestyle such
as bad sleeping habits, smokes, drinks (Flicker 311). To some extent, this male
woman female scientist is parallel to the character of male scientist who is often
times portrayed as hard, very diligent worker, absent minded, confused or worse, mad

scientist does not have such quality, rather she is seen as asexual characteristic. Even

The Media Helps to Construct National Identity and Loyal...
The media helps to construct national identity and loyal national subjects. Discuss.
Introduction
In the twenty first century, the media has been transformed into a highly influential
tool and segmented to aspects such as print, broadcast, film, outdoor and internet etc.
The relationship between the media and construction of national identity is apparent
with distinctive representation of nationalism in news coverage of politics,
celebrations, tourism and country heritage (Leong, 2001).
National identity is the transmission of each generation s legacy to the next and the
enabling of the nation citizen to take pride and identification of the country (Stephan,
2009). A nation positive unique identity breeds patriotism which consequently...

As such the Singapore flag, pledge and anthem together with the National Day visual
display of patriotism and flags on the building are promoted daily in schools and

Therefore, it can be seen that media in Singapore are essential tools to promote
national identity while supporting the ruling party political regime. Singapore then
Prime Minister proposed that the press should support national goals and he states
that: we want mass media to reinforce, not undermine, the cultural values and social
attitudes being inculcated in out school and universities (Lee, 1971). For that reason,
most of Singapore media today is under control of the government or government
linked corporations and are the principal instrument in creating social and political
stability as well as advocating government policies and instilling nationalism (Leong,
2001).
Also, the government uses Roger Protection Motivation theory (Severin Tankard
1992, p.159) by arousing fear to help influence the cognition, attitude and behaviors
intention through the severity, probability and efficacy of an event (Rogers, 1983).
Fear appeal like self censorship; out of bound markers and hefty defamation suit are
used extensively to control the media and prevent dissenting criticism or anything
that will deconstruct the nation identity and subject loyalty.
As such, lesser negativity on the nation will
Questions and Answers on the Foundations of Singing
1.How does the speaking voice influence the singing voice?
I cannot tell you the number of times that I have had vocal teachers tell me that
they cannot believe how high I can sing after hearing my speaking voice. Many
vocal professionals tell me that I must be an alto and I have had many vocal issues.
I have been told it is because teachers are pushing my voice to high and the opposite
that it is because I speak too low. I blame it on being a very unhealthy human being.
Research has shown a correlation between the speaking and singing voices (Phillips,
236). Poor speaking habits can lead to poor singing habits, which can lead to vocal
problems. Many cases of vocal nodules have been reported in children as a result of
poor speaking habits. Singing and speaking have similar physiology, which can
make it difficult for students that have a poor speaking voice to then go onto
having a good singing voice. The speaking voice is learned young in students and
often times music teachers do not have any control over it. When the students reach
our classrooms it is our job to almost reteach students how to speak so that they can
sing properly. Otherwise, many of the students will develop problems that they will
work on fixing for the rest of their lives. I am still working on posture and how not
to bring muscle into my singing voice, since I use muscle in my speaking voice.
3. How do the vocal folds work, and what muscles produce pitch in the singing
voice? The vocal

Gatorade has a big impact on sport culture in America. From fans, athletes, and

The most notable and ongoing presence of Gatorade in popular culture is the
Gatorade shower, originally called the Gatorade Dunk, where players from a
victorious team pick up the Gatorade cooler, sneak up behind the head coach, and
pour the contents of the cooler (generally Gatorade and ice) over his head at the
end of an American football game. This tradition was popularized in the mid 1980s
when Harry Carson and Jim Burt, of the New York Giants, doused head coach Bill

popularized it during the team s championship season of 1986 87. The tradition has
since become a recurring tradition across other team sports, including Canadian

That trust will take a knock, but on balance, the brand has done well enough to
deserve a second chance, if it handles the current crisis with utmost honesty and
transparency. NIL, during the tough time, took the help of social media to keep
connected with the consumers. And the reaction and support by the consumers was
overwhelming. People still ask when Maggi will be back and they can enjoy it all
over again. People share a lot of memories with Maggi and in order to relive those
moments, they want Maggi to be back.
All these things confirms the strong consumer loyalty for the Maggi noodles. It will
not be very surprising that Maggi again gained its original market share in a short
time once it comes back on the shelves. The need of the hour is to take the right path
to reach the consumers. This will be done by taking the help of promotions and
keeping the consumers connected and updated of the latest developments in bringing
Maggi back to stores.
In 2003, when worms were found in some Cadbury chocolate bars in Maharashtra, the
company had to undertake a high profile marketing campaign, change its outer
packaging and provide explanations to the consumers and the government before its
brand perception was restored.
In August, tests performed by the US health regulator FDA showed no presence of
dangerous lead levels in the products.

When life gives you lemons you should make not lemonade but lemon meringue pie.
National Lemon Meringue Pie Day is an unofficial national holiday in the United
States of America. The National Lemon Meringue Pie Day is celebrated the 15th of
August.
Lemon meringue pie is a dessert pie that s constructed in three parts. The crust is a
shortbread pastry crust, the filling is lemon curd or lemon custard, while the top is
a delicate and fluffy meringue. The shortbread crust is prepared beforehand and is
lightly baked before constructing the pie. The texture and taste should remind
people of a light cookie. The lemon custard is a standard custard made from egg
yolks, cream, sugar, and lemon juice. The meringue is constructed by beating the egg
whites, cream of tartar, and adding sugar at just the right time to create a fluffy
meringue. The baker will know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meringue was perfected in the 17th century in France and lemon meringue pies
started becoming a staple in the 19th century. It is believed that the lemon
meringue pie that we know today in America, originated in Philadelphia. Elizabeth
Goodfellow was a pastry shop owner who operated the first cooking school in
America in the 19th century. Her signature dish was her lemon pudding and one
day she thought to finish her pudding off with a top layer of meringue. This was a
relatively new concept in the world of baking because of how tricky a perfect
meringue is to accomplish. Lemon custards demand a lot of egg yolks and often
the egg whites were going to waste. Since meringue only calls for egg whites, cream
of tartar, and sugar it seemed like a perfect solution to the waste problem. The
product was a huge success and Goodfellow continued to top her custards with
meringue. This resourcefulness led to a lemon meringue pie being created in
Alexandria During The Hellenistic Age
Alexandria became a very dominant and important royal capital during the
Hellenistic age, located on the edge of Egypt, Alexandria was able to advance
medically in various ways. The city was an exceptional place to learn, teach and
research medicine during its Hellenistic age time period. The advancement in science
and math, the geographical location, and the people of Alexandriaall contributed to
reaching the peak of medical breakthroughs. In order to support my claim on why
Alexandria was a place to further advance in medicine I will be using three ancient
sources from Michael Austin s book The Hellenistic world from Alexander to the
Roman conquest as well as scholarly views on the benefits and oppositions
Alexandria had towards medical advancement.

In Greek Science its Hellenistic Age by J.V. Luce, he was able to show how
Alexandria was looked upon as a city of great potential, with philosophers,

how science was looked upon for its benefiting factors that could contribute towards
medicine and how many rulers of Alexandria greatly supported the science and math
fields as much as too fund it with money and resources. Alexandria has been looked
at positively for its advancement in medicine and a major part of its advancement
was its knowledge through science and math. Alexandria is a place to learn about
medicine because they have knowledge on how to get from one step of the process to

Battle Of Trenton
The American Revolution was about different conflicts. The conflict arose from
growing tensions between residents of Great Britain s 13 North American colonies
and the colonial government. The colonists wanted independence from Great Britain
because the king created unreasonable taxes. After that the colonists decided to rebel
against this. There were several battles that change the outcome of the American
Revolution. For example, the Battle of Trenton changes the course of the war because
the Americans won. The Battle of Trenton was the most important battle because
Hessian army was crushed in Washington s raid and it made people more confident in
the country. By 1775, rigidity between the American colonies and the British

Cutting Edge Technology In The Army
My essay is about the use of cutting edge technology in the army and the civilian life.
Cutting edge technology refers to technological devices, techniques or achievements
that employ the most current and high level IT developments; in other words,
technology at the frontiers of knowledge. Leading and innovative IT industry
organizations are often referred to as cutting edge. Cutting edge technology is now
being used to improve customer service in the food service, industries, hospitals, and
homes and especially in our military. For example; there are digital kiosks, iPads,
kindle, computers, self drive cars, self operate planes, drones, robots that looks like
humans, and many more things.
However, in the heat of battle, fear, anger, and vengefulness can cause even the
most trained soldiers to commit war. There is a possibility that machines may one
day reach a point when they make more ethical decisions on the battlefield than
humans. In the short time they are given, as we advanced our technology and we

The Homeless Are A Vulnerable Population Essay
The homeless are a vulnerable population. They are defined by the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services as an individual who lacks housing
(without regard to whether the individual is a member of a family), including an
individual whose primary residence during the night is a supervised public or
private facility (e.g., shelters) that provides temporary living accommodations,
and an individual who is a resident in transitional housing. (The National Health
Care for the Homeless Council, 2016). They are a social group throughout the US
who are susceptible to all of the life s cruelties. They are much more at risk for
adverse illnesses due to their lack of available resources and medical help. Many
have predetermined illnesses which need daily treatment but cannot acquire the
medication needed. The homeless population lacks the funding for life s
necessities, thus the luxury of insurance and medicine is a dream. The homeless
are the epitome of vulnerable. Alone, defenseless, and exposed. A person being
alone and on the streets can begin to develop mental issues. They have no friends
/family to talk to and confide in. A person who is already weak from the homeless
lifestyle can be attacked by anyone; other homeless people fighting for their life or
the unjust people of this world. This could leave them injured without aid. The

For instance she published an autobiography called I am Malala: The Girl Who
Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Talibans. Malala also won many
awards of recognission. The most important accomplishment she had was she got
to go back to school how she fought for. She also impacted many people to be
fearless, to forgive, to never have fear and anger in your heart. The biggest impact
she had on us was that there is no age limit to stand up against injustice and things
you believe in. In conclusion Malala did struggle and went through a lot. She
could have just stopped or mot done nothing at all. She could have just left it alone
not done anything about this situation. Or she could have just let it happen and be
happy that she wasn t required to go to school. Most people would have just not
done anything about it but, she did something. She kept going and didn t stop
under all circumstances. Even though she got shot and stayed in a critical
condition she got out of the critical condition and gave a speech. I don t care if I
have to sit in the floor all I want is a good education that quote was one of the
quotes Malala used. Well now you know everything you have to about Malala. I
hope now you have a different opinion at education because education could be the
greatest thing you have. It will take you to have a good job, a good opportunity to

In fact, sukuk hold a number of structures which distinguish them from
conventional bonds and from the other sukuk structures in the part of approved
sukuk. We can say that sukuk is differ in product design, product offering and pay
off to the investor. Back on the case of trachoma, it can categorized that sukuk that
was applied on Tracoma s is under the asset backed securities. Its represent the real
form of securitisation as they expose the sukuk investors to the real value and risk
of the underlying asset. Under this structure, the investor can only expect the returns
from the cash flows of the underlying asset and there is no right of recourse to the
owner of the assets. We can say that this is because under the asset backed sukuk
would require the owner of the asset to sell the company asset on a true sale concept
to the sukuk investor without having any purchase undertaking in the case the asset
fails to generate the expected income to sukuk investor. Shortly, we can say that asset

Pawn Sacrifice Film Analysis
The season of biopic is upon us as Pawn Sacrifice is the third film in past two
weeks that has concentrated on a real life story. Pawn Sacrifice is a movie about
the real life story of Bobby Fischer and his rise from a child prodigy to a chess
legend. Tobey Maguire is an unconventional casting as Fischer but grows onto the
audience as he delivers one of his strongest performance. Maguire is riveting in
portraying the ever abrasive and prejudicial Fischer. Fischer is unquestionably a
genius but a very difficult person to like and get along with, which Maguire gets
across brilliantly. The movie is set during Cold War era presents a fine view of the
link between the genius of Fischer and his mental illness.
Pawn Sacrifice opens with the most unflattering shot of Fischer as he tears through
his room trying to find the bugs he is sure are hidden by everyone out the get him
especially the Soviets. Though in a rather formulaic manner the screenplay by Steven
Knight follows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The game of the century between Fischer and Spassky could have provided some
really tense moments but sadly the film has a disappointing endgame and misses out
on a magical moment. Any ardent chess fan watching this movie would be
disappointed in the portrayal of Fischer as the movie focus more on his paranoia
and anti semitic views (Fischer himself is a jew). Viewers will be frustrated by the
movie as Zwick sets up the movie beautifully but fails to deliver on the endgame
and does not go for the kill. The movie is partly about Fischer and fails to identify
itself. Pawn Sacrifice is neither a Chess movie neither a biopic nor a documentary.
Sadly it turns out to be a one dimensional dramatization aimed at appeasing all.
However the movie does a wonderful job in showcasing that Fischer s true nemesis
were not the Soviets or Spassky but

I have a love for plays and broadway productions. So, when enroll in the course I knew that this will be something I will enjoy. I learned so much and enjoy the overall class experiences. The first play that we were required to attend is The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde. The importance of being Earnest one of the most remarkable works of satire and criticism not only in the Victorian age, but also nowadays, since it discloses many aristocratic behaviors that seems to be very weird and funny at the same time. the several interpretations of this play may be considered as an enough reason for explaining the wit and cleverness of Oscar Wilde. The overall play fit well within the space of the theatrebecause the layout corresponds with the flow of the play. The play itself didn t need a large or over the top spacing because of its few actors. Throughout the play there were at least two to three actors sharing the stage. The play was done on a prosceniumtheatre and it is stage outlined by what is called the proscenium arch. This arch is architectural in nature and serves as a picture frame surrounding the view of the action on stage. The layout of the stages gives the actors the ability to use the apron more often especially when there s a moment between actors or an actorby themselves. For example, there were moment between Jack and Gwendolen that they were in conversation in the apron area also Cecily and Algernon. The actors use that part of the stage because it gives the audience a better view and it flowed with the play itself. The architecture of the theatre adds to the performance by extended the stage to bring about more in the actors to fully enhance the character. There were choices made by the actors and the director that help make the production a success. Each actor took the acting methods that best fit the character they were playing and done things that enhance the feedback of the play. The actors seem very believable in the roles. They fully embody the character in many ways from the way they walk, and even the facial

During this time, segregation laws were in place limiting African Americans and portraying them as second class citizens. In the 1920 s, the idea of a new identity for the African American, one that was equal to the white majority, would take root and the Harlem Renaissancewould begin in New York. Although there were numerous artists who participated in the movement, poets Langston Hughes, Claude McKay, and Countee Cullen are amongst some of the most prominent figures whom represent the Harlem Renaissance. In the 1950 s, with the end of World War II, came a new group of poets and artists who voiced their criticism on a wide variety of social issues creating the Beat Movement, or Beat Generation. Allen Ginsburg, Gregory Corso, and Diane di Prima are a few of the many artists who participated in the Beat Movement calling for a spread of awareness and societal change. For these poets, it seemed as though no topic was too taboo such as capitalism, war, American Culture, the use of religion, consumerism, and environmental issues. While both were influential movements in American history, the Harlem Renaissance was a movement which sought to unify African American communities by encouraging the adoption of a new image whereas the Beat Movement used individual expression to promote change for a variety of social issues. Victorian women kept with the ideals of the time by refusing food and restricting any intake. A hearty appetite was said to represent sexuality and a lack of self control, which was strictly prohibited for women. The era was emphasized by spirituality, which also had an impact on the restriction of meat. Ironically, most of the women were large, as common meals were high in starches. Medical evidence of the existence of anorexia has been documented as far back as 1873. It was decided that this refusal of food was to attract attention. An American neurologist, Silas Weir Mitchell saw anorexia as a form of neurasthenia, a nervous disorder characterized by nervous exhaustion and lack of motivation. Mitchell thought the disease was caused by any stressful life situation in combination with social pressure. Treatment was a so called parentectomy, which was removal from the home, and force feeding, if necessary. Mitchell preferred the pampering method, consisting of a diet low in fats, total seclusion, bed rest, and massage therapy. Sigmund Freud, a psychiatrist from Vienna, believed that anorexia was a physical manifestation of an emotional conflict. He believed that anorexia might be linked to the subconscious desire to prevent normal sexual development. Sustainable Development Of Private Enterprise The primary objective of these two books is the sustainable development of private enterprise, and despite fact that they have been in existence for a couple of years since production, the content and key topics remain extremely pertinent to current arguments about sustainability of the environment, and climatic change. The commitment made by the two books is best comprehended by viewing them in connection to the idea of sustainable development. The two books begin by a thought of sustainability that does not debilitate but rather is perfect and well matched with capitalism, fully supports it and does not threat a wage labor scheme of producing products for profit. According to John Ikerd s book Sustainable Capitalism: A Matter of Common Sense tries to challenge, the inherent lack of sustainability in the neoclassical paradigm. It also supports a new method for accomplishing maintainable capitalism. According to Ikerd (2005), neoclassical economic matters are the reason behind the absence of sustainability in the United States agricultural sector, and the broader American economy. Along these lines, he attempts to build up other economics of sustainability in view of standards of living frameworks that are self sufficient and fit for regeneration. Ikerd (2005) he claims that sustainability is considered to be the most obvious aspect by those firmly associated with the earth (on the same page) for which, in his view, he is appropriately qualified, having been brought up
  • 10. The Theory Of Goal Attainment In 1981 Imogene King introduced her mid range Theory of Goal Attainment (this theory has also been referred to as the theory of goal achievement (Johnson and Webber, 2010)). This theory is based on the grand theory called the Conceptual System, also created by King (Frey et al: 2002). To understand the more focused mid range theory it is important to first quickly understand the conceptual system. The conceptual system was created using systems analysis and systems theory literature (Johnson and Webber, 2010). It was originally referred to as a conceptual framework, but King changed the terminology in 1997 to Conceptual System (Frey et al, 2002). The conceptual system focused on decision making in nursing. It is organized around three systems; Personal Systems which pertain to the individual, Interpersonal Systems which pertain to small groups, and Social Systems which pertain to the society as a whole. King saw these three interacting systems as part of the larger decision making process of human beings (Frey et al, 2002). The Theory of Goal Attainment is a middle range theory derived from King s Conceptual System. The Theory of Goal Attainment focuses on the interactions between the personal, interpersonal, and social systems. Frey et al (2002) describes the central concepts of the theory as perception, communication, interaction, transaction, self, role, growth and development, stressors/stress, time, and space. Four specific concepts within the theory; perception,

Stephen Covey states that Every human has four endowments self awareness, conscience, independent will, and imagination. These give us the ultimate humanfreedom.....The power to choose, to respond, to change (Stephen Covey). In the book Frankensteinby Mary Shelley, Will Franz, the monster is essentially more human because he displays the four endowments far more throughout the book than his creator Victor Frankenstein. To begin with, Will Franz displays the first endowment, self awareness in a way that is relatable to many. Upon seeing the De Laceys, Will is astonished by their presence Their grace, beauty... but how was I terrified when I viewed myself in a transparent pool! When I became fully convinced that I was, in reality, the monster that I am, I was filled with the bitterest sensations... (12.13). As humans, it s easy to compare oneself to someone that is perceived to be better than oneself and although Victor is truly human he tends to display a figure of superiority and tends to have it all together which in reality no one does. According to the College Board and U.S. Census data, over the last few decades, the cost of a 4 year college degree has risen by 250 percent (Washington and Salmon 38). According to the same data, the average family income has only risen 16 percent during that time period (Washington and Salmon 38). This information proves that there is a serious problem going on, as there is clearly a shortage of income needed to pay for college. Therefore, students are having to take out larger educational loans. As a result, there has now been an intensive obligation to find out the factors contributing to this trend. Higher tuition is an obvious cause, but in order to understand the issue at hand, the unnoticeable causes need to be addressed. Students are obtaining large amounts of student debtbecause of a higher influx of qualified applicants, expectations of an ideal campus, and students being uneducated about the loans they are taking. One cause of the increase in student borrowing is an increased amount of applicants. There has been a growth of students extending their educationto postsecondary schooling, which means a higher output of college applications. Unfortunately, institutions can not properly adjust to this change and accept students at the same rate. In fact, in 2013 the U.S. Census Bureau reported that during the prior fall semester nationwide,
