3. BTW, what does BEYOND stand for?
To think and to act „beyond the Tellerrand“
Tellerrand = The border of a (possible deep) plate
In German: „Über den Tellerrand hinaus denken“

6. The Hambi – What is it all about? I
• Forest between Cologne and Aachen
• 200 hectars left from 4000 hectars
• The eco system has been existing for 12,000 years
• Many animal species are threatend by extinction
such as the Bechstein's bat (Bechsteinfledermaus)

7. The Hambi – What is it all about? II
• The energy company RWE sets out to clear the remaining forest in
favour of new brown coal exploitation
• The former red/green (!) government of NRW sold the forest to RWE
• The current goverment (CDU/FDP) has no interest to save the forest
• By order of the government of NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia) the
police destroyd lots of tree houses and finally they got the forest
evacuated from people (!)

8. The Hambi – What is it all about? III
• Just yesterday a court (Oberverwaltungsgericht Münster) stopped the
by RWE announced clearings of the Hambach Forst (I‘m so happy!!!)
• Today (October 6th, 2018) there will be a BIG demonstration at the
Hambach Forest, about 20,000 people expected to show up!
• The court stopped the prohibition of the demonstration that was
called by the police
• In my opinion Ministerpräsident of NRW, Armin Laschet, and the
Innenminister, have a very very bad imagination of their job; as they
didn‘t show any interest for asking for dialouge or a broad agreement
