Essay on Setting Up a McDonald s In Chad
Chad is an ethnically diverse African country that also happens to be one of the poorest countries
in Africa. Chad gained its independence from France in 1960 after a sixty year rule. There are
several national cultures in Chad that are based on ethnoregional and religious affiliations. There
are more than 200 ethnic groups in Chad, and those in the north and east are typically Muslim;
most southerners are Animists and Christians. Through their long religious and commercial
relationships with Sudan and Egypt, many of the people in Chad s eastern and central regions
have become more or less Arabized, speaking Arabic and engaging in many other Arab cultural
practices as well (Azevedo, Graham, and Nnadozie, 1997). The people who reside in... Show more

Due to there lack of money they are forced to eat groundnut oil residue, which is usually fed to
goats, which only cost eighteen cents (Clarke, 2010). Chad s economic performance depends on
rainfall, because of the types of goods they export. Chad also has a narrow commercial base.
Since independence, both Chad s internal and external markets remain undeveloped; therefore,
the nation never succeeded in developing a successful commercial export economy. Chad s
economy has long been troubled by its landlocked position, and high energy cost (Azevedo,
Graham, and Nnadozie, 1997). They are also still feeling the effects of the years of civil war they
were engaged in. Chad has poor transportation, inadequate natural resources, and continue to have
political turmoil that has severely stunted their economic development. They are also highly
dependent on foreign assistance to help their economy. Their economy is so bad that they are
constantly in need of food aid to meet the hunger needs of their people. Chad s cultural structures
are diverse due to the great variety of people who live in Chad, and many different languages
spoken there. Chad is a semi nomadic Arab culture. Arabs make up one third of the population, and
they live in tribes which are known as the Kishimbet (Rosensweig, 2001). The Kishimet is headed
by an elder who is called the Shaykh. All members of the Kishimet

Credit Insurance And Its Effect On People s Lives
Credit Insurance
In today s world and age, businesses are what control the economy and businesses also have a
tremendous effect on people s lives. With that being said, every business has its ups and downs. In
order to be safe, businesses should limit their risks as much as possible, and one way in which this
can be done is through credit insurance. Credit insurance is used by businesses all over the world,
and it encompasses both commercial risks as well as political risks. The overall goal of credit
insurance for businesses is to protect the accounts receivable by allowing a business to obtain
revenue for what it sells. So what exactly is credit insurance, and what does credit insurance
offer to a business that decides to invest in it? Credit insurance is a policy that can be bought
from an agency that offers the holder of the policy security for running business. This security
holds as a guarantee against non payment for a product that a company sells and is owed, for a
bad debt, or for a slow payment for all of the accounts receivable. Companies of all sizes and
from all regions of the world use credit insurance as a means of safety for their businesses. So for
example, let us say that Company A sells a product worth $1,000 to Company B, and Company B
cannot fully pay Company A the owed money. The credit insurance policy that Company A
purchased then allows Company A to obtain the compensation to its accounts receivable. Company
A then will in fact receive the money

The, Same Love, By Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, And Mary Lambert
Playing God
A crowd of sweaty sixth graders eager to get to recess, pushed one another in their haste to get
down to the park. My best friend hung back. When I ran back to join him, he looked scared,
tears welled in his eyes. He took a deep breath, ready to get something off his chest, and said to
me and my friend, You know I like boys right? I shrugged and said, Really? That s okay, lets just go
play soccer. Sweet innocence of children somehow gets lost in some when transitioning to
adulthood. They turn to hate filled comments, demeaning gay people into think ing that their sexual
orientation is something sinful or awful. The music video, Same Love by Macklemore, Ryan Lewis,
and Mary Lambert attempts to change the part of society that believes being gay is a choice.
Macklemore is known best for his hip hop and rapping style music, and while he keeps the
rapping aspect in this music video, this is the first time he delves into deeper social issues. Same
Love seeks to portrays one man s life journey dealing with his homosexuali ty, while at the same
time challenging viewers to understand that sexual orientation doesn t define a person.
Using subtle imagery to appeal to viewer s emotions, Same Love depicts the struggles of the main
character and what he has to endure throughout his life. As a teenager, he attempts to fit into the
social mold of normality . Panning through a house and into a room of teenagers sit ting on a
floral carpet, one girl spins a brown beer

The Ring Of Gyges Essay
The Ring of Gyges Justice has continued to remain one of the greatest significant moral and
political conceptions. The word that originates from the Latin word jus implying a right or a
lawful act has been defined by many philosophers to expound on its use in different cultural and
political backgrounds. Philosophers have gone beyond the dictionary level that simply defines it as
an act of giving everyone their dues without interfering with their rights. The definitions have gone
beyond the etymology definitions as set indifferent dictionaries and therefore, the word has been
considered to mean a moral value of character and a desirable quality of political society among
others. Justicehas been considered by many philosophers to be a significant tool in ethical and
social decision making. Plato, a philosopher provides a story about a mythical magical artifact, the
ring of Gyges, in his book known as the Republic In the book, Plato narrates that... Show more

This ring would be used by many politicians to hide their characters and practice injustices
without any person realizing. Through the story by Plato, Republic takes into consideration
whether an intellectual individual would be moral if he or she did not fear being pointed and
meeting the hands of the law for carrying out any injustice in the community or when pursuing
his or her political duties. In the story, Glaucon argues that no one practices justice voluntarily as
many people consider their personal desires when in power. This paper answers a number of
questions on the use the ring of Gyges when I would be in possession of one. In answering the
questions, the paper analyses the story as written by Plato in his books, the Republic. If I had the

Adulthood In William Faulkner s Barn Burning
When does someone reach adulthood? Usually, one defines themselves as an adult when they turn
eighteen, but there is more than simply turning another year older. Adulthood has a physical aspect
where by turning eighteen a person is considered an adult biologically, but there is a psychological
aspect as well where a person is mentally mature and able to make decisions for themselves. In
Barn Burning by William Faulkner, he writes about a young, hungry, and illiterate boy, Colonel
Sartoris, who deals with the matters of right and wrong. He has to make a decision on sticking
with his blood, even though he is treated wrongly by his father, or doing what he feels is right.
There are moments where he falters in his choices after his moment... Show more content on

The events that led up to the narrator s moment of epiphany, involved him and his friends
starting trouble with someone they mistaken as their friend and almost rape a girl, but are
snapped out of their actions by the approaching headlights from another car (Boyle 531 532).
This can be an indication of the narrator s lack of mental maturity as he is not concerned with the
consequences of this actions, eventually leading to the narrator s two moments of epiphany.
The first moment of epiphany occurs when he finds a dead body floating in the lake while he is
hiding with his friends in the lake (Boyle 533). Consequently, by him injuring a person it leads
him to a dead corpse of another, realizing what his actions of acting bad could result to. The
second was when he thinks back to the dead man floating in the lake, who is probably the only
person on the planet worse off than I [the narrator] was (Boyle 534). At this point in time, the
narrator realizes his actions could have been more fatal than just some bruises. While he still has to
face the consequences of his actions from his parents, at least he wasn t

Towards Sustainable Tourism – Key Problems and Issues...

HONG KONG
Introduction
Unquestionably, Hong Kong is a blessed land where possesses prosperity and most of the elements
of being a world class cosmopolitan which has successfully attracted visitors over years, especially
from the mainland by emphasising our world class shopping, dining and other urban attractions
(Lam, H., 2004). Despite the flourishing scene of the tourism industry, the volatile tourist markets
and growing competition from Southeast Asian countries and neighbouring destinations have posed
new challenges to Hong Kong s tourism industry.

Despite these efforts, several problems are found regarding Hong Kong s culture and heritage
sustainability policy. It is found that Hong Kong has been relatively slow in developing its
potential heritage sites into tourist attractions, as seen in the controversy over the fate of Tiger
Balm Garden and the Central Police Station. According to Chu and Uebegang (2002), the sluggish
and passive response of government reflects the lack of political will due to a lack of
understanding of the principles of heritage and its potential. The Government believes heritage
conservation should be driven by tourism and economics and not treated in the same way as other
social and education services. Even with the setting up of Heritage Tourism Task Force which is
established in 1998, there have been very few recommendations proposed by the task force. Some
critics have blamed on its lack of leadership and lack of influence in the government bureaucracy
(Chu and Uebegang, 2002). Other problems implied in the policy of government are lack of a
broad based, long term conservation policy, lack of a clear priorities and inadequate co ordination
of government departments involved in present heritage conservation practice. Besides, in most
cultural heritage development, public involvement in decision making is absent.
Regarding these problem, it is essential for

Exegesis on Exodus 20
Bible Exegesis: Exodus 20
Prior to beginning this assignment, I had already found a passionate interest in theology, primarily
the logical historical analysis of the Old Testament. I had read several books on the topic, but still
had a thirst for more knowledge. With that said, my preceding assumptions predominantly
consisted of skepticism towards the religious interpretation of the Old Testament. I believed that
Exodus 20 was a prime example of the religious establishment interpreting an ancient text as to be
divine. I felt that the Ten Commandments were nothing more then a moral code of antiquity,
established as an ethical compass by spiritual leaders in a religious society. Exodus 20 is a hot
button topic in today s polarized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Exodus 20 begins by stating that this is the word of god, or Elohim. Verse two continues this
assertion by proclaiming, I am YHWH thy God, who have brought thee out of the land of Egypt,
out of the house of bondage (Darby Translation Bible Exod 20:2). This statement immediately
grabs the reader s attention and imposes his authority as the savior of the Israelites who formed
a covenant with his chosen people that they shall obey only him. YHWH demands this authority
in Exodus 20:3 when he says, Thou shalt have no other gods before me. However, The
Jerusalem Bible provides a more telling interpretation of Exodus 20:3, There shall be no strange
god for you before my face. This suggests that the acknowledgement of other gods is accepted, as
long as YHWH is the only god worshiped. As Karen Alexander Explains, To ignore a potential
source of (divine intervention) seemed frankly foolhardy, and the subsequent history of the
Israelites shows that they were very reluctant to neglect the cult of the other gods (23).
During antiquity, it was widely assumed that gods only controlled specified territories or earthly
tasks. So, as people would travel outside the territory of one god, they would begin worship of
another. This fundamental belief originates from the ancient Babylonian myth of the Enuma Elish.
In this story of creation, gods emerge from primordial

In the past couple of days I have went to 3 different school to observe and interview teachers about
their assessment tools. I interviewed both preschool and kindergarten teachers. The schools I had
visited were Crocus Academy, Gutermuth Elementary, and Auburndale Elementary.
The first school that I went to was Crocus Academy. At Crocus Academy I interviewed Ms.
Amber. Ms. Amber went to Elizabethtown Community Technical College as well. Amber teaches
a preschool class at Crocus. She walks around the room while the children do their activities.
When needed she will stop and help the kids or correct them on their work. Amber is always
interacting with the kids to keep their focus throughout the day. Crocus Academy has their own

The Nature Of Eto Trading Co Ltd V.
The nature of ETO in the context of business was effectively reconsidered in Thompson v. SCS
Consulting Ltd Ors [2001] EAT 34/00 with the emphasis for subsequent Employment Tribunals
(ET) to consider if the principle reason for dismissal was demonstrably linked to the
survivability and continuity of the business. The Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) affirmed
the ET decision and the necessity of reviewing any evidence suggesting collusion between
transferor and transferee regarding dismissals, together with consideration of the available
funds for business continuation at time of the dismissal. By way of commentary based on a
number of EAT decisions, the actual findings were dependent upon the timing so if occurring
just prior to the transfer period, these were likely to be judged directly associated with the
transfer. Conversely the casual link is more challenging to prove if the time delay was
significant. To assist further analysis it is useful to consider Ibex Trading Co Ltd v. Walton
Others [1994] IRLR 564 EAT. In this case the employees were dismissed on the 16th October,
1991 with the effective date being the 4th November 1991, with the offer to purchase of the
business on the 11th November and completed on the 13th February 1992. The EAT reaffirmed the
ET decision that the dismissal was fair, as it was only connected with a possible transfer and not
necessarily the actual transfer, and therefore it had not contravened the meaning of Regulation 8(1).

African American Women s Leadership
After the seminary days, the women church ministers encounter numerous challenges as they begin
and carry on with their professional career. In modern African American churches, women s
leadership has shifted from the typical roles as leaders of women in missionary societies and
groups to congregational leaders like pastoral ministry and Christian education. In the current paper,
the focus is on the problems single women minister, pastor, preacher faces with dating or being in a
relationship and not married. The paper first briefly explores the contemporary women leadership in
African Americanchurches, encumbrances to effective women s leadership, approaches to solving
the obstacles, notable contributions of African American women and lastly signs of hope and
encouragement.
African American women represent a significant proportion of congregation in most African
American churches. African American women make up about 66 88 percent majority in African
American churches though they are not well represented in the church leadership. The greatest
variation that can be observed in women s leadership is in the pastoral category. The situation is
worse for unmarried women who want to be church ministers, pastor or preacher but it becomes
complicated for women who are in relationships but not yet married. Nonetheless, unmarried
women are still being ordained and appointed as pastors and bishops at a growing rate. One of the

Profit Dale is what we call genius with no common sense. He walked through poison ivy. As
soon as he found out that s what it was, he called everyone in the family and asked them if they
were allergic to it also (everyone s allergic to poison ivy!). Another example of his no common

Ambiguistic Role Of Semantics
MODE OF INDISTINCTNESS IN SEMANTICS Abstract Language is a mode of communication
which helps us to converse with each other. Linguistics is the base to scientifically learn the
language. Grammar also has main role in learning a language. Semantics is one of the types of
Linguistics that deals with the study of words and its meaning. By using a word having same
structure it causes Ambiguity (indistinctness) in some place. If a word gives more than one
meaning it is called Ambiguous. This manuscript deals with the types of Ambiguities in Semantics.

M.Breal is credited with coining the word semantics in his Essai de Semantique (1897) as a name
for Philosophical enquires . In 1894, the English word semantics occurred in a paper presented to
the American Philosophical Association: Reflected Meaning: a point in Semantics . In 1996
A.J.Greimas produced Structural Semantics which viewed semantics as an exploration of
signification anchored in the world, perceived through senses. Halliday nevertheless feels that A
Language is a system for making meanings, a semantic system, with other systems for encoding
the meanings it produces. The term semantics doesn t merely refer to the gist of words; it is the
intact practice of meaning of a language, uttered by Grammar as well as by Vocabulary. Semantics
as a branch of Linguistics is mainly concerned with how the meaning is conveyed by the Linguistic
system consisting of different units and structure like Sentences, Phrases, Words, and Morphemes

Reflection On Clinical Placement
DESCRIPTION During my clinical placement, I have done the nursing standard 2 which is
engaging in therapeutic and professional relationships. An example of one event in my
placement where I have done this standard is when doing interviews in my two week community
placement at the Community Rehabilitation in Armadale Hospital. For my reflection, I will be
using the Gibbs Reflective Cycle (1988). FEELINGS I am normally a very shy person so when
we were told that we were to do interviews on the first day of my community placement I felt
scared. I did not know how to approach people confidently let alone do an interview. I knew I
could do it but I was not confident enough. I was already feeling overwhelmed because it was my
first time to be placed in a hospital. EVALUATION The good thing in my experience would be
that I got to have the experience of doing interviews and I actually enjoyed it. I also gained more
confidence in interacting with my patients. The not so good thing would be that I have gained
confidence in talking to my patients but not the staff or the people I was working with. I was
still very shy in communicating with them. ANALYSIS I have learnt to do interviews during my
placement. Because I took that step out of my comfort zone I believe that I have learnt a lot. I
have learnt to take a step out of my shell and try. I have learnt that it is not worth getting worked
up over doing interviews and talking to people, as it will be a major part of my

Four Forms Of Archetypes In The Anima By Carl Gustav Jung
Psychologist Carl Gustav Jung described several archetypes that are based in the observation of
differing but repeating patterns of thought and action that re appear time and again across people,
countries and continents. Jung s main archetypes are not types in the way that each person may
be classified as one or the other. Rather, we each have all basic archetypes within us. He listed
four main forms of archetypes: The Shadow The Anima The Animus The Self The Shadow is a
very common archetype that reflects deeper elements of our psyche, where latent dispositions
which are common to us all arise. It is, by its name, dark, shadowy, unknown and potentially
troubling. It embodies chaos and wildness of character. The shadow thus tends not to obey rules, In

The Plight of The African Slave Essay
Introduction
Slavery was one of the darkest periods in African American history. Africans were taken from their
homes in West Africa and brought to America to work on plantations. However, slavery was not
something new as it existed in Africa before Europeans partook in it, but slavery in Africa was
very different from slavery in America. During their voyage through the Middle Passage many
slaves perished. Those who survived were sold and subjected to the harsh life on the plantations.
When this happened, their authentic cultures were drastically changed from the way of life in their
native homelands in Africa to life in the plantation society of the American colonies. In this essay, I

more than one person in charge of the government. As in the case in Oludah Equiano s homeland,
there were no kings but chief and elders who ran the government of his village. According to
Equiano, for every transaction of the government, as far as my slender observation extended was
conducted by the chief or elders of the place (191). The political system also was consisted of
judges and senators in addition to the chiefs and elders. Surprisingly there were no jails and the
punishment depended on the crime committed. For example, according to Equaino, Adultery was
sometimes punished with slavery or death.... (191).
In America, the enslaved people had no political or judicial systems. They went from being kings
and chiefs to merely commoners under enslavement. They were two classes of

The Colonialism And Historiography Of The Colonial Revival
The Colonial Revival is a phenomenon that materialized as a national expression of American
culture from the 1870s to its peak between 1880 and 1940. The Colonial Revival was more about
ideology but most often manifested itself through decorative arts and architecture. Elements of
pseudo colonial furniture, arts and architecture symbolically served as tools to promote the
republican ideas of democracy, patriotism and moral superiority. In many ways the Colonial
Revival was a direct reaction to the side effects of Industrialization and progress. Ironically many
times participants of the revival used modern techniques as a means to accomplish their singular
goal. Historian Alan Axelrod argues, Colonialism is not a surface phenomenon, a thin verneer over
the real body of American life, but a network of communications and linkages that reach deep into
American experience and behavior. Historians examine the movement from various perspectives;
the Colonial Revival as a social and cultural movement, its representation in U.S. material culture,
and its significance to immigration and nationalism. Scholarship includes everything from Alan
Axelrod s The Colonial Revival in America from 1985 to Briann G. Greenfield s Out of the Attic:
Antiques in Twentieth Century New England from 2009. A variety of monographs and collections
of essays will be analyzed to determine correlations and points of dissent within the historiography

Early Detection Of Patient Deterioration
INTRODUCTION
Vital signs consist of the measurement of patient s blood pressure, temperature, respiratory rate,
heart rate and oxygen saturation (Jarvis 2013). They are routinely measured by nurses to gain a
baseline assessment of patient s state of health, monitor for any fluctuations, recognise changes in
patient s condition and to detect for signs of deterioration (Dougherty and Lister 2008 cited in
Phillip et al 2013).
vital signs definition and normal parameters??
Up to 80% of adverse events are predicted by physiological abnormalities that occur over hours
and sometimes days (Kause et al 2004 cited in pantazopoulos 2012). Early detection of patient
deterioration allows for early treatment of infections or hospital acquired pneumonia (Mato 2009,
Mato 2010 and Straub 2014). It can also improve the patient s outcome by potentially preventing
unplanned intensive care unit (ICU) admission, cardiac arrest and unexpected hospital deaths.
(Van Leuvan 2008, Subbe 2003, Hodgetts 2002, Goldhill 2005, Chalmers 2008, Buist 2004). For
an abnormality in a patients vital signs to be detected, they need to be consistently and accurately
recorded for patient deterioration to be recognise. Past research suggests, however, that this
practice is inconsistent (Chua 2013, Pantazopoulos 2011, Jonsson 2011, Osborne 2015, Van
Leuvan 2008, Oliver 2010, Cretikos 2007, Parkes 2011, Cooper 2013, Ansell 2014, Hogan 2006,

Prof. Heidi Humm
Assignment: Beneficial impact of Mary Ainsworth s Strange Situation Test in order to better
understand the importance of attachment in an individual s developmental processes.
The relationship between the child and caregiver is very important and impacts later behavioral,
psychological, and cognitive development. Therefore, many scientists focused their studies and
research on the attachment as an emotional bond. Mary Ainsworth (Developmental Psychologist)
collaborated to the Attachment Theory and explained thoroughly using Strange Situation Test. The
purpose of the test was the observation of 12 18 months children left by mothers or caregivers in
the room with the stranger. Ainsworth was looking at children s reaction whether they will be upset
or engage in the play. After detailed analysis of the results it was concluded that there are two types
of attachments: secure and unsecured impacting the development and causing different kinds of
behavior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the caregiver leaves the room, the child is a little upset and cries. However, after a few
minutes calms down and starts playing. When mother or caregiver comes back, the child is happy
and shows emotional comfort. This is a natural and the most favored behavior that impacts child
future imperatively. It has been told that these children who feel affection and care are become
more confident in themselves. They also become more independent and open for social interactions.
They are more likely to be successful in learning, gaining new abilities, and achieving new
accomplishments. Secure attachment gives the child the security and confidence they really need

Values In The Great Gatsby
Character Values In the novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the story takes place in the
1920s. During the 1920s probation caused many people to have private parties. Many of the
characters have values that have to do with finding someone or something they need. Also some of
the characters values change by the end of the story. This can change the overall intention of the
story. The character Jay Gatsbyplays a large part in the the book. Gatsby is a wealthy man living
in West Egg. Throughout the novel it is clear that Gatsby has only one thing in life that he
values; nothing is more important to him than his long lost love, Daisy. The writer explained to
us that Gatsby bought that house so that Daisy would be right across the bay (83). He spends
most of his time throwing huge parties solely in hopes that one day his party will attract Daisy
to his home. Gatsby goes out of his way to get reconnected with Daisy after so many years, and
in this way, shows how much she means to him. As the plot reaches the climax, Gatsby takes the
blame for the death of Myrtle, in order to protect his beloved Daisy. He was plans to flee from the
law, but delays his departure from West Egg hoping to let Daisy know that he loves her. As a

Gun Laws In Australia
This essay investigates the Australian gun laws and whether they are effective or not. In
particular, with a focus on what the current gun laws are and how they have or have not worked
also if they need to be updated. The current gun laws were first introduced by John Howard in
1997 after the mass shooting in Port Arthur where 35 people were killed and a further 18 injured
on the 28th of April, 1996 (Sharpe, 2016), the laws were them further improved in 2002, after the
Monash University shooting, where a commerce student with mental impairments came in to class

For the first time since the introduction of the current gun laws Australia national number of
privately owned guns is higher than it was prior to the Port Arthur massacre. It is also important
to take into account that Australia s population has increased by almost 5 million in the last 20
years, this means that the per capita gun ownership is still 23 per cent lower than it was in 1996
(Alpers, 2016). In a survey by the author it was found that 90% of the respondents believe that the
gun laws affected Australia positively, the rest said they haven t affected Australia. It was
surprisingly found that no one said the gun laws had a negative effect on Australia, this could be
due to the lack of respondents as some citizens believe the gun laws have effected Australia
negatively, because they believe individuals need the right to bear arms and protect themselves

How Did German Influence American Education
4.1. Educational and academic contributions
According to Walz book German influence in American education and culture, Germany was early
rated as a very attractive country for intellectual purposes (Walz 1936, p. 10f.).
Therefore many Americans decided for a discovery of a new continent of intellectual and spiritual
ideas and studied in the popular German universities like Göttingen or Berlin (Walz 1936, p. 10).
In addition to this fact within America, German ideas, respectively, the German language received
growing public interest, what can be also attributed to the various German settlements in the US
(Walz 1936, p. 8).
Due to this circumstance, Harvard and other prestigious Universities in the US introduced German

The teacher Charles Brooks predicted that [...] the Prussian system is to make a new era of public
education in the United States (Walz 1936, p. 27).
With this prediction, he should be proved right because it didn t last long, until the Americans, who
were fascinated by Prussian school system introduced schools after the German model.
The first Normal School was established 1839 in Lexington in Massachusetts (Walz 1936, p. 30).
Exemplary for the impact of German immigrants on US education was also the adoption of the
German pre school education Kindergarten.
Introduced by the Prussian immigrant Margarethe Meyer Schurz, in Watertown in Wisconsin 1856,
the successful conception of the Kindergarten in the German communities reached US public
education, where it was integrated in the end and became a standard system (Wust 1983, p. 90f.).

A Note On Gs Expression System
a)GS expression system is used to select high express cells, where glutamine synthetase (GS) is
used as a selectable marker. Normal functioned cell produce use glutamate and ammonium to
produce glutamine, with the presence of glutamine synthetase. To select, firstly, glutamine was
eliminated from culture media as the selective pressure. Only cell with strong expression potential
can overcome this condition. The cells survived this selection then proceeded to the second
selection, where methionine sulphoxamine (MSX) was added into the media. MSX is a specific
inhibitor of GS that stop normal GS function. Therefore, only cells whose plasmid contains both the
geneof interest and a copy the glutamine synthetase (GS) gene can survive this condition. Due to
the presence of GS gene in their plasmid, the glutamine synthesis was not halted in these survived
high expresser cells. These cells were hence selected for cell line production.
b)The specific productivity (qp) in mammalian cell bioreactor mean the amount of cells made
per unit time per volume. To increase bioreactor productivity, the value of qp need to be
maximised. To achieve a high specific productivity, a cell line with higher efficiency is needed. A
well designed and well developed cell line requires: 1). A strong promoter strength so that genes
can express effectively; 2) amplification of the system to give a reasonable system scale to exploit
the production potential of the cell factory.

Sixth, a man should hope to forfeit sin and receive the gift of grace and the glory of heaven. This
contrition should be universal. The second part of Penitence is confession, the sign of contrition.
Confession is the showing of all sins to a priest. All sins stem from the original sin of Adam, and
there are two types, venial sins and sins of deed. The latter occur when a man loves any creature
more than Jesus. Venial sins occur when a man loves Jesus Christ less than he ought.
There are seven deadly sins. Pride is the worst of them, for the other sins, Ire, Envy, Sloth,
Avarice, Gluttony and Lechery, stem from Pride. Pride can be manifest in many forms, including
the wearing of ostentatious clothing. The remedy for Pride is humility, when a man holds
himself as not worthy of heaven, despises no other man and cares not what men think of him.
Envy is the sorrow in others fortune and delight in others pain. The remedy for Envy is love of
God first and trust in one s fellow man. After Envy there is Ire, which manifests itself in hate. The
remedy against Ire is patience and the acceptance of suffering. Sloth is the anguish of a troubled
heart. The remedy for this is fortitude. Avarice is the desire to have earthly things. Avarice can be
distinguished from Envy, for Envy is to covet things that one does not have, while Avarice is to
keep things that one has without rightful need. The remedy for Avarice is pity. Gluttony is the

SA ADC that are mentioned in this paper are binary weighted DAC, unary weighted DAC and
segmented DAC. In this paper comparator is been designed for all these SA ADC architectures. The
comparator used in SA ADC plays an important role. The main purpose of the comparator is to

signal is greater or smaller than the reference signal. The structure of the comparator does not
depend on the segmentation degree (i.e. the number of unary bits), for all the binary, segmented,

1.8 Supply Chain Drivers in Agribusiness
In this chapter, we have so far discussed the role of supply chain drivers namely facilities, inventory,

industry.
1 Facility
Facility management for the agricultural inputs sector is an important aspect of supply chain
drivers. When one looks at any facility, its various forms need to be analyzed. One aspect is with
respect to manufacturing, process, and resource endowment, and the other is about creating storage
spaces such as warehouses and regional distribution centers, especially with respect to input
management.

Kharif season is after first rains of south west monsoon in India, which is in June July and harvest
happens in September and October. Rabi season starts after the kharif season and more popularly
termed winter crop with plantation in November and harvest in February/March. Cultivation is
triggered by the onset of the monsoon. Inputs such as seeds and capital equipment and preparatory
farm equipment would be required at the initiation of crop farming. As the crop firms up, farmers
would need fertilizers, crop nutrients, and pesticides. Later, farmers would need farmer extension
support services, harvesting support, and support in reaching the markets. All these activities
require an effective inventory management policy across the supply chain.
The players deploy inventory concepts such as cycle inventory, safety inventory, seasonal inventory,
and pipeline inventory. Inventory could be in the form of raw material, work in progress, or
finished goods.
Cycle inventory is the average inventory that builds up within the supply chain, because a supply
chain stage either produces or purchases in lots that are larger in volume than the demands of
customers. Raw materials, components, and parts are required for production. The cycle plays a
crucial role in keeping the production process continuous. Raw materials and work in progress
inventories are a major part of the production related inventory. This works even in the agribusiness
input sector. Fertilizers typically work

arguments. In Johnson s article Race Baiting for the Presidency, it talks about the racismused by the
candidates to win the campaign. The statements inside another article , Study: Sexist Insults Hurt
Female Politicians by Page, hold the negative points about the treating for women politicians.

Insightful Reflection In ICT
Insightful Reflection in ICT
Technology through Life
ICT (Information and Communication Technology) is useful and helpful. It s an application of
modern technology to interact and share information among people all fields and develop science
through technology.
For me as a student technology can really help to make our class session in Empowerment
technology , as interactive and collaborative. By putting a student into a small groups or maybe
pairs, quick internet research can help us find answers and solutions to problems. I can show
everyone how technology can help with lecture portions of classes using power point presentations
displayed via and overhead projector.
Technology also provides new resources for learning the overcome distance and time. The addition
of this valuable tool, technology into our education system is a slow process, that one single idea of
how to use technology in education, that one soon becomes noted as a meaningful addition and so
more curriculum. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

For me to have a nicely landscaped yard, I would have to cut down trees, and move bushes, and
make hills where there are valleys and plant grass where there s dirt.... or so I thought. The thing is,
your home improvement project this summer will cost you a lot less money if you work with what
your yard already has going for it! So what does this mean? It means, use the natural landscape of
your yard to create your home improvement project. Believe it or not, natural and existing
landscape in your yard can even give you ideas for what to do as a project. Step 1. First, you should
go out and look at your yard. What is the natural landscape? By this, I mean what does your yard
look like now? This would include hills, trees, bushes, grass, places where there is just dirt, etc.
But, it would also include a pavement that has already been placed in your yard, a garage or
shed in your yard, etc. You need to get an idea of everything that is there. Step 2. What is it that
you want to do with the yard? What landscape ideas do you have? Think of your dream
landscape. Are you looking to create some new paths and walkways? Do you want to have some
type of fountain or something with water like a waterfall? Do you want a patio in your new
landscape? Do you want a swing? This is where you decide what your home improvement
project for the summer might consist of. Step 3. Now, you need to generate some creative ideas
for the existing landscape. This is the fun phase. You can come up with an idea, no matter how
big or small, expensive or not. If you look at the yard in the picture for this article, it has a small
hill/ incline about half way up the yard. At this point in the yard, there is a slope and then the
rest of the yard is on higher ground. A great landscaping idea for this would be to do some
digging and make the slope upright, and put in a retaining wall the whole way across where the
yard goes from one

Robotic Surgery Essay
Robotic Surgery
Robots are used in everyday life. They are in cars, our houses, and many places we do not care to
notice, as they have become a necessity for daily living. Advancements have been made, that allow
for robots to be used in surgery. Robotic surgery is relatively new to the medical industry and it is
often underrated. Robotic surgery offers greater efficiency, and utility than that provided through
traditional surgical methods. The most traditional and common way of performing surgery is
laparoscopically. This means the surgery is performed while looking through a small, camera
inserted into the patient s body. Though this technique is minimally invasive, it poses
disadvantages, which can be overcome with the use of robotics in surgery.
Robotic surgery is new compared to cell phones and laptops, however the surgical practice has
been around since the 1980 s. The first recorded use of robotics in surgery was in 1985, when the
PUMA 560 robotic arm was used in a brain surgery (neurosurgical biopsy). This surgery laid the
foundation for a plethora of groundbreaking operations and a brand new scientific branch pursued
into the twenty first century. In 1998, after several years of development and advancements, Ralph
Damiano Jr. performed robotically assisted heart bypass surgery (Ditlea 2). This surgery is regarded
as one of the most difficult operations a surgeon can perform. The use of robotics in surgery
remained throughout the remainder of the twentieth century and

Data was collected via primary and secondary sources. Descriptive statistical tools for data analysis
i.e. table, histogram and graph were used in analysing data collected. The study confirmed that
margin loans have a positive effect on the stock market and investors during periods of boom and
the opposite during periods of economic downturn and further revealed that investors have little or
no idea of the terms and conditions attached to margin loan contracts.
The study therefore recommends that investors should be properly oriented on the terms and
conditions of a margin loan contract before the extension of such facilities to them and that the
CBN should restructure margin debts/interests and that toxic assets in the market should be bought
by the FGN in order to restore sanity and stability in the Nigerian Capital Market.

  • 2. Essay on Setting Up a McDonald s In Chad Chad is an ethnically diverse African country that also happens to be one of the poorest countries in Africa. Chad gained its independence from France in 1960 after a sixty year rule. There are several national cultures in Chad that are based on ethnoregional and religious affiliations. There are more than 200 ethnic groups in Chad, and those in the north and east are typically Muslim; most southerners are Animists and Christians. Through their long religious and commercial relationships with Sudan and Egypt, many of the people in Chad s eastern and central regions have become more or less Arabized, speaking Arabic and engaging in many other Arab cultural practices as well (Azevedo, Graham, and Nnadozie, 1997). Chad s economic performance depends on rainfall, because of the types of goods they export. Chad also has a narrow commercial base. Since independence, both Chad s internal and external markets remain undeveloped; therefore, the nation never succeeded in developing a successful commercial export economy. Chad s economy has long been troubled by its landlocked position, and high energy cost (Azevedo, Graham, and Nnadozie, 1997). They are also still feeling the effects of the years of civil war they were engaged in. Chad has poor transportation, inadequate natural resources, and continue to have political turmoil that has severely stunted their economic development. They are also highly dependent on foreign assistance to help their economy. Their economy is so bad that they are constantly in need of food aid to meet the hunger needs of their people. Chad s cultural structures are diverse due to the great variety of people who live in Chad, and many different languages spoken there. Chad is a semi nomadic Arab culture. Arabs make up one third of the population, and they live in tribes which are known as the Kishimbet (Rosensweig, 2001). The Kishimet is headed by an elder who is called the Shaykh. • 3. Credit Insurance And Its Effect On People s Lives Credit Insurance In today s world and age, businesses are what control the economy and businesses also have a tremendous effect on people s lives. With that being said, every business has its ups and downs. In order to be safe, businesses should limit their risks as much as possible, and one way in which this can be done is through credit insurance. Credit insurance is used by businesses all over the world, and it encompasses both commercial risks as well as political risks. The overall goal of credit insurance for businesses is to protect the accounts receivable by allowing a business to obtain revenue for what it sells. So what exactly is credit insurance, and what does credit insurance offer to a business that decides to invest in it? Credit insurance is a policy that can be bought from an agency that offers the holder of the policy security for running business. This security holds as a guarantee against non payment for a product that a company sells and is owed, for a bad debt, or for a slow payment for all of the accounts receivable. Companies of all sizes and from all regions of the world use credit insurance as a means of safety for their businesses. So for example, let us say that Company A sells a product worth $1,000 to Company B, and Company B cannot fully pay Company A the owed money. The credit insurance policy that Company A purchased then allows Company A to obtain the compensation to its accounts receivable. Company A then will in fact receive the money ... • 4. The, Same Love, By Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, And Mary Lambert Playing God A crowd of sweaty sixth graders eager to get to recess, pushed one another in their haste to get down to the park. My best friend hung back. When I ran back to join him, he looked scared, tears welled in his eyes. He took a deep breath, ready to get something off his chest, and said to me and my friend, You know I like boys right? I shrugged and said, Really? That s okay, lets just go play soccer. Sweet innocence of children somehow gets lost in some when transitioning to adulthood. They turn to hate filled comments, demeaning gay people into think ing that their sexual orientation is something sinful or awful. The music video, Same Love by Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and Mary Lambert attempts to change the part of society that believes being gay is a choice. Macklemore is known best for his hip hop and rapping style music, and while he keeps the rapping aspect in this music video, this is the first time he delves into deeper social issues. Same Love seeks to portrays one man s life journey dealing with his homosexuali ty, while at the same time challenging viewers to understand that sexual orientation doesn t define a person. Using subtle imagery to appeal to viewer s emotions, Same Love depicts the struggles of the main character and what he has to endure throughout his life. As a teenager, he attempts to fit into the social mold of normality . Panning through a house and into a room of teenagers sit ting on a floral carpet, one girl spins a brown beer ... • 5. The Ring Of Gyges Essay The Ring of Gyges Justice has continued to remain one of the greatest significant moral and political conceptions. The word that originates from the Latin word jus implying a right or a lawful act has been defined by many philosophers to expound on its use in different cultural and political backgrounds. Philosophers have gone beyond the dictionary level that simply defines it as an act of giving everyone their dues without interfering with their rights. The definitions have gone beyond the etymology definitions as set indifferent dictionaries and therefore, the word has been considered to mean a moral value of character and a desirable quality of political society among others. • 6. Adulthood In William Faulkner s Barn Burning When does someone reach adulthood? Usually, one defines themselves as an adult when they turn eighteen, but there is more than simply turning another year older. Adulthood has a physical aspect where by turning eighteen a person is considered an adult biologically, but there is a psychological aspect as well where a person is mentally mature and able to make decisions for themselves. In Barn Burning by William Faulkner, he writes about a young, hungry, and illiterate boy, Colonel Sartoris, who deals with the matters of right and wrong. He has to make a decision on sticking with his blood, even though he is treated wrongly by his father, or doing what he feels is right. The second was when he thinks back to the dead man floating in the lake, who is probably the only person on the planet worse off than I [the narrator] was (Boyle 534). Despite these efforts, several problems are found regarding Hong Kong s culture and heritage sustainability policy. It is found that Hong Kong has been relatively slow in developing its potential heritage sites into tourist attractions, as seen in the controversy over the fate of Tiger Balm Garden and the Central Police Station. According to Chu and Uebegang (2002), the sluggish and passive response of government reflects the lack of political will due to a lack of understanding of the principles of heritage and its potential. The Government believes heritage conservation should be driven by tourism and economics and not treated in the same way as other social and education services. Even with the setting up of Heritage Tourism Task Force which is established in 1998, there have been very few recommendations proposed by the task force. Some critics have blamed on its lack of leadership and lack of influence in the government bureaucracy (Chu and Uebegang, 2002). Other problems implied in the policy of government are lack of a broad based, long term conservation policy, lack of a clear priorities and inadequate co ordination of government departments involved in present heritage conservation practice. • 9. Exegesis on Exodus 20 Bible Exegesis: Exodus 20 Prior to beginning this assignment, I had already found a passionate interest in theology, primarily the logical historical analysis of the Old Testament. I had read several books on the topic, but still had a thirst for more knowledge. With that said, my preceding assumptions predominantly consisted of skepticism towards the religious interpretation of the Old Testament. I believed that Exodus 20 was a prime example of the religious establishment interpreting an ancient text as to be divine. I felt that the Ten Commandments were nothing more then a moral code of antiquity, established as an ethical compass by spiritual leaders in a religious society. Exodus 20 is a hot button topic in today s polarized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Exodus 20 begins by stating that this is the word of god, or Elohim. Verse two continues this assertion by proclaiming, I am YHWH thy God, who have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage (Darby Translation Bible Exod 20:2). This statement immediately grabs the reader s attention and imposes his authority as the savior of the Israelites who formed a covenant with his chosen people that they shall obey only him. YHWH demands this authority in Exodus 20:3 when he says, Thou shalt have no other gods before me. However, The Jerusalem Bible provides a more telling interpretation of Exodus 20:3, There shall be no strange god for you before my face. This suggests that the acknowledgement of other gods is accepted, as long as YHWH is the only god worshiped. As Karen Alexander Explains, To ignore a potential source of (divine intervention) seemed frankly foolhardy, and the subsequent history of the Israelites shows that they were very reluctant to neglect the cult of the other gods (23). During antiquity, it was widely assumed that gods only controlled specified territories or earthly tasks. So, as people would travel outside the territory of one god, they would begin worship of another. This fundamental belief originates from the ancient Babylonian myth of the Enuma Elish. • 12. The Nature Of Eto Trading Co Ltd V. The nature of ETO in the context of business was effectively reconsidered in Thompson v. SCS Consulting Ltd Ors [2001] EAT 34/00 with the emphasis for subsequent Employment Tribunals (ET) to consider if the principle reason for dismissal was demonstrably linked to the survivability and continuity of the business. The Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) affirmed the ET decision and the necessity of reviewing any evidence suggesting collusion between transferor and transferee regarding dismissals, together with consideration of the available funds for business continuation at time of the dismissal. By way of commentary based on a number of EAT decisions, the actual findings were dependent upon the timing so if occurring just prior to the transfer period, these were likely to be judged directly associated with the transfer. Conversely the casual link is more challenging to prove if the time delay was significant. To assist further analysis it is useful to consider Ibex Trading Co Ltd v. Walton Others [1994] IRLR 564 EAT. In this case the employees were dismissed on the 16th October, 1991 with the effective date being the 4th November 1991, with the offer to purchase of the business on the 11th November and completed on the 13th February 1992. The EAT reaffirmed the ET decision that the dismissal was fair, as it was only connected with a possible transfer and not necessarily the actual transfer, and therefore it had not contravened the meaning of Regulation 8(1). In the current paper, the focus is on the problems single women minister, pastor, preacher faces with dating or being in a relationship and not married. The paper first briefly explores the contemporary women leadership in African Americanchurches, encumbrances to effective women s leadership, approaches to solving the obstacles, notable contributions of African American women and lastly signs of hope and encouragement. African American women represent a significant proportion of congregation in most African American churches. African American women make up about 66 88 percent majority in African American churches though they are not well represented in the church leadership. The greatest variation that can be observed in women s leadership is in the pastoral category. The situation is worse for unmarried women who want to be church ministers, pastor or preacher but it becomes complicated for women who are in relationships but not yet married. An example of one event in my placement where I have done this standard is when doing interviews in my two week community placement at the Community Rehabilitation in Armadale Hospital. For my reflection, I will be using the Gibbs Reflective Cycle (1988). FEELINGS I am normally a very shy person so when we were told that we were to do interviews on the first day of my community placement I felt scared. I did not know how to approach people confidently let alone do an interview. I knew I could do it but I was not confident enough. I was already feeling overwhelmed because it was my first time to be placed in a hospital. EVALUATION The good thing in my experience would be that I got to have the experience of doing interviews and I actually enjoyed it. I also gained more confidence in interacting with my patients. The not so good thing would be that I have gained confidence in talking to my patients but not the staff or the people I was working with. I was still very shy in communicating with them. ANALYSIS I have learnt to do interviews during my placement. Because I took that step out of my comfort zone I believe that I have learnt a lot. I have learnt to take a step out of my shell and try. During their voyage through the Middle Passage many slaves perished. Those who survived were sold and subjected to the harsh life on the plantations. • 21. The Colonialism And Historiography Of The Colonial Revival The Colonial Revival is a phenomenon that materialized as a national expression of American culture from the 1870s to its peak between 1880 and 1940. The Colonial Revival was more about ideology but most often manifested itself through decorative arts and architecture. Elements of pseudo colonial furniture, arts and architecture symbolically served as tools to promote the republican ideas of democracy, patriotism and moral superiority. In many ways the Colonial Revival was a direct reaction to the side effects of Industrialization and progress. Ironically many times participants of the revival used modern techniques as a means to accomplish their singular goal. Historian Alan Axelrod argues, Colonialism is not a surface phenomenon, a thin verneer over the real body of American life, but a network of communications and linkages that reach deep into American experience and behavior. Historians examine the movement from various perspectives; the Colonial Revival as a social and cultural movement, its representation in U.S. material culture, and its significance to immigration and nationalism. Scholarship includes everything from Alan Axelrod s The Colonial Revival in America from 1985 to Briann G. Greenfield s Out of the Attic: Antiques in Twentieth Century New England from 2009. Early Detection Of Patient Deterioration INTRODUCTION Vital signs consist of the measurement of patient s blood pressure, temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate and oxygen saturation (Jarvis 2013). They are routinely measured by nurses to gain a baseline assessment of patient s state of health, monitor for any fluctuations, recognise changes in patient s condition and to detect for signs of deterioration (Dougherty and Lister 2008 cited in Phillip et al 2013). vital signs definition and normal parameters?? Up to 80% of adverse events are predicted by physiological abnormalities that occur over hours and sometimes days (Kause et al 2004 cited in pantazopoulos 2012). Early detection of patient deterioration allows for early treatment of infections or hospital acquired pneumonia (Mato 2009, Mato 2010 and Straub 2014). It can also improve the patient s outcome by potentially preventing unplanned intensive care unit (ICU) admission, cardiac arrest and unexpected hospital deaths. (Van Leuvan 2008, Subbe 2003, Hodgetts 2002, Goldhill 2005, Chalmers 2008, Buist 2004). For an abnormality in a patients vital signs to be detected, they need to be consistently and accurately recorded for patient deterioration to be recognise. Past research suggests, however, that this practice is inconsistent (Chua 2013, Pantazopoulos 2011, Jonsson 2011, Osborne 2015, Van Leuvan 2008, Oliver 2010, Cretikos 2007, Parkes 2011, Cooper 2013, Ansell 2014, Hogan 2006, Phillip 2013). Therefore many Americans decided for a discovery of a new continent of intellectual and spiritual ideas and studied in the popular German universities like GГ¶ttingen or Berlin (Walz 1936, p. 10). In addition to this fact within America, German ideas, respectively, the German language received growing public interest, what can be also attributed to the various German settlements in the US (Walz 1936, p. 8). Normal functioned cell produce use glutamate and ammonium to produce glutamine, with the presence of glutamine synthetase. To select, firstly, glutamine was eliminated from culture media as the selective pressure. Only cell with strong expression potential can overcome this condition. The cells survived this selection then proceeded to the second selection, where methionine sulphoxamine (MSX) was added into the media. MSX is a specific inhibitor of GS that stop normal GS function. Therefore, only cells whose plasmid contains both the geneof interest and a copy the glutamine synthetase (GS) gene can survive this condition. Due to the presence of GS gene in their plasmid, the glutamine synthesis was not halted in these survived high expresser cells. These cells were hence selected for cell line production. b)The specific productivity (qp) in mammalian cell bioreactor mean the amount of cells made per unit time per volume. To increase bioreactor productivity, the value of qp need to be maximised. To achieve a high specific productivity, a cell line with higher efficiency is needed. Three architectures of the capacitor array Digital Analog Converter (DAC) used in SA ADC that are mentioned in this paper are binary weighted DAC, unary weighted DAC and segmented DAC. In this paper comparator is been designed for all these SA ADC architectures. The comparator used in SA ADC plays an important role. The main purpose of the comparator is to compare a signal with a reference signal and produce an output depending on whether the input signal is greater or smaller than the reference signal. The structure of the comparator does not depend on the segmentation degree (i.e. the number of unary bits), for all the binary, segmented, and unary structures, the same circuit configuration with similar power consumption can be employed. Rabi season starts after the kharif season and more popularly termed winter crop with plantation in November and harvest in February/March. Cultivation is triggered by the onset of the monsoon. Inputs such as seeds and capital equipment and preparatory farm equipment would be required at the initiation of crop farming. As the crop firms up, farmers would need fertilizers, crop nutrients, and pesticides. Later, farmers would need farmer extension support services, harvesting support, and support in reaching the markets. All these activities require an effective inventory management policy across the supply chain. The players deploy inventory concepts such as cycle inventory, safety inventory, seasonal inventory, and pipeline inventory. Inventory could be in the form of raw material, work in progress, or finished goods. Cycle inventory is the average inventory that builds up within the supply chain, because a supply chain stage either produces or purchases in lots that are larger in volume than the demands of customers. But if... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For me to have a nicely landscaped yard, I would have to cut down trees, and move bushes, and make hills where there are valleys and plant grass where there s dirt.... or so I thought. The thing is, your home improvement project this summer will cost you a lot less money if you work with what your yard already has going for it! So what does this mean? It means, use the natural landscape of your yard to create your home improvement project. Believe it or not, natural and existing landscape in your yard can even give you ideas for what to do as a project. Step 1. First, you should go out and look at your yard. What is the natural landscape? By this, I mean what does your yard look like now? This would include hills, trees, bushes, grass, places where there is just dirt, etc. But, it would also include a pavement that has already been placed in your yard, a garage or shed in your yard, etc. You need to get an idea of everything that is there. Step 2. What is it that you want to do with the yard? What landscape ideas do you have? Think of your dream landscape. Are you looking to create some new paths and walkways? Do you want to have some type of fountain or something with water like a waterfall? Do you want a patio in your new landscape? Do you want a swing? This is where you decide what your home improvement project for the summer might consist of. Step 3. Now, you need to generate some creative ideas for the existing landscape. This is the fun phase. You can come up with an idea, no matter how big or small, expensive or not. If you look at the yard in the picture for this article, it has a small hill/ incline about half way up the yard. At this point in the yard, there is a slope and then the rest of the yard is on higher ground. A great landscaping idea for this would be to do some digging and make the slope upright, and put in a retaining wall the whole way across where the yard goes from one ... • 44. Robotic Surgery Essay Robotic Surgery Robots are used in everyday life. They are in cars, our houses, and many places we do not care to notice, as they have become a necessity for daily living. Advancements have been made, that allow for robots to be used in surgery. Robotic surgery is relatively new to the medical industry and it is often underrated. Robotic surgery offers greater efficiency, and utility than that provided through traditional surgical methods. The most traditional and common way of performing surgery is laparoscopically. This means the surgery is performed while looking through a small, camera inserted into the patient s body. Though this technique is minimally invasive, it poses disadvantages, which can be overcome with the use of robotics in surgery. Robotic surgery is new compared to cell phones and laptops, however the surgical practice has been around since the 1980 s. The first recorded use of robotics in surgery was in 1985, when the PUMA 560 robotic arm was used in a brain surgery (neurosurgical biopsy). This surgery laid the foundation for a plethora of groundbreaking operations and a brand new scientific branch pursued into the twenty first century. In 1998, after several years of development and advancements, Ralph Damiano Jr. performed robotically assisted heart bypass surgery (Ditlea 2). This surgery is regarded as one of the most difficult operations a surgeon can perform. The use of robotics in surgery remained throughout the remainder of the twentieth century and ... Descriptive statistical tools for data analysis i.e. table, histogram and graph were used in analysing data collected. The study confirmed that margin loans have a positive effect on the stock market and investors during periods of boom and the opposite during periods of economic downturn and further revealed that investors have little or no idea of the terms and conditions attached to margin loan contracts. The study therefore recommends that investors should be properly oriented on the terms and conditions of a margin loan contract before the extension of such facilities to them and that the CBN should restructure margin debts/interests and that toxic assets in the market should be bought by the FGN in order to restore sanity and stability in the Nigerian Capital Market.
