History of Modern Computing
Computer has been an important gadget in many peoples life. Computers come in various design, size
and types. For example, there are computers that needs to be placed on the desk or on a flat surface
like the desktop computer and the laptops. Where else we have the computers that can be carried along
with us like the mobile phones and tablets. Computers are so important that it is used to communicate
by billions of people. For example people use computer for far distance communication like sending
emails to friend and workmates or talking to family members at any time without restriction and this is
really convenient. Computers are also used for working purpose like the consumer using it for
business, employees to employers as well as customers. (Gary B.Shelly 2011). Computers are also
used for education in schools, library, and at homes as well by students, adults and kids. Computer is a
very helpful medium to learn knowledge and information. In this 21st century, nothing works without
the basic knowledge in computer for example a small shop uses computer to keep the records of thing
that they have sold and even a road site food stall uses the calculator which is also a computer to count
the price. Compare to the past era children used to play out door games but in recent era children
prefer to play indoor with their computers. Today I will be writing about the modern history of
computing since it is really important to know the history of computer.

How to Change an Automotive Air-Conditioning Evaporator
How to Change an automotive air conditioning evaporator.
There are four parts to replacing the evaporator. The first part is to prepare the air conditioning system
for removal of the evaporator, the second part is the removal of the evaporator, the third part is the
reinstallation of the evaporator, and the fourth part is the proper testing to verify that the repair was
successful.
First we ll cover the preparation of the a/c system for the removal of the evaporator. The first step is to
identify the type of refrigerant in the system using a refrigerant Id machine. The second step is to
recover the refrigerant from the system using a recovery machine, be sure to use the correct machine
and fittings for the type of refrigerant in the system, usually R 12 or R 134a. The third step would only
apply if the heater hose(s) have to be removed to gain access and that is to drain the coolant from the
radiator into a clean container. The fourth, and final, step is to remove any covers, braces, brackets,
wiring harnesses, or heat shields that would restrict access to the evaporator.
Now we ll cover the removal of the evaporator. The first step is to remove the liquid line from the
metering device, either thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) or fixed orifice tube (FOT). If there is an
O ring, be sure to remove and discard it. The second step is to remove the suction line from the
evaporator (on systems with a TXV) or accumulator (on systems with an FOT). Again if there is an O
ring, be

Om Sokdae Characters
To some extent, a person who holds a vast majority of exceptional traits can be classified as the simple
word, hero. A hero requires an abundance of personality, life experience, and achievements. Heroic
people can be found everywhere, everyday. It is only a matter of interpretation to see if that one
particular person is worth the title. I suppose that there can be different types of heros, either in fantasy
or reality. In the novel, Our Twisted Hero by Yi Munyol, that one particular person to be interpreted
prevails a twisted hero. A twisted hero is more or less a hero who represents power, feeling, and
contains the intrepidity of a leader. He is Om Sokdae, a person who is thought to have only existed in
fable. Om Sokdae is defined as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It gives an insight as to how the real world can form new thoughts by blending with the fictitious.
Han, the main character of the novel, is a grown man recalling his 5th and part of 6th grade class,
where Sokdae held power. Han wondered what made him so substantial. In the United States, when a
child goes to elementary school, she encounters other children who think that they are better than
everyone else just because their teacher always chooses them to volunteer or compliments their outfit.
When I was in the 5th grade, there was a girl who stopped being my friend because I let my actions
speak louder than my words and joined another group, one that held all of the popularity. I thought I
belonged because of the outfit choices I made and endearment I got from adults. My mind never
brooded over what I had done because the power and new personality I thought I had took over and I
was left with uncontained superiority. The idea of an event like this happening in elementary school is
not absurd because it provides understanding of social stratification in the world outside of the soul.
So in the novel, Sokdae s rank situation should not be declined, for it is an insight of social
stratification and almost defines a fraction of

Voting in National Elections Should be Compulsory Not...
It was in 1928 that universal suffrage had been granted in the United Kingdom. Prior to that time,
people fought to have the right to vote so their opinions could be voiced, yet now we have that right,
voting does not seem so significant. Before deciding whether voting should be compulsory or
optional, understanding what exactly is meant by the term compulsory voting is essential. It is also
important to educate the general public more about politics so they can make an informed decision if
and when they do choose to vote. Finally, there should be a comparison with other countries which
currently enforce compulsory voting to better understand how it would work.
The term compulsory voting is a misnomer as it is impossible to monitor ... Show more content on

Perhaps making voting compulsory would encourage apathetic and apolitical people to become more
politically active and express their opinions.
There are some people who believe that they are not well informed so they do not know who to vote
for in elections. Others are prepared to express a view without having the slightest knowledge about
the subject (Kavanagh, 1983:13). However, if voting were made compulsory, political parties would
spend less money on getting out the vote , and spend more time on campaigning their policies
(Electoral Reform Society, 2009; IDEA, 2009) and so making the public more aware of what they are
trying to achieve and why people should vote for them. As less money is spent on (often negative)
campaigning, there would be a decrease in the opportunity for corruption in politics by reducing the
need for party fundraising (Faulks, 2001:24). The public should be more educated about politics and
the policies of the parties they may or may not vote for because the more intense, informed and stable
an opinion is, the more likely a person is to act on it (Kavanagh, 1983:14). Nevertheless, the
information provided in educating the public has to be interesting, something which engages public
interest and stimulates debate, as opposed to apathy and alienation (Heywood, 2007:255) and this
would be much easier to do with the enforcement of compulsory voting rather than politicians

Summary Of The Blizzard, The Painted Door And Locket s Tale
We ve read a lot of short stories about Canada in recent months and I really enjoyed to read them. We
read The Blizzard, The Painted Door and The Locket. They are all sad stories that happened in the
cold Canadian winter. These are stories that show people s psychological conflicts, the separation of
joys and sorrows, and these things happen in the past, so they are all stories about memories. There is
always someone dying in the cold winter. These stories have the same almost setting, including
location selection and season selection, although the roles were different. related them to My
Grandfather s House, you will find that, they all about memories and these stories were all happened
before. My theme is the memory. Related all the stories

Flesh And Blood So Cheap By Albert Marin
The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory made in 1911 had no fire extinguishers or smoke detectors though
they were both made before 1911. In the story, Flesh and Blood So Cheap, by Albert Marrin, He uses
explicit and implicit meanings in the story to help him convey that his theme that unsafe practices led
to 146 deaths in the Triangle fire in 1911. Nobody really knew how the fire started in the factory
because the building was fireproof. But some say it started with a cigarette that was smoked inside and
was thrown into the trash inside or, a cutter that flicked a hot ash into the air. Albert Marrin uses
explicit meanings in the text by using a word the

implicit evidence Albert uses in his text is that since the stairways in the factories had no lights, smoke

there were no lights in the stairways so no one could see. Also, the stairways were really small and the

Essay On Mexican Drug War
The war on drugs is a serious issue in today s society. One of the main places that has to endure this is
Mexico. All around Mexico s states, there are constant drug wars among different powerful cartels and
drug lords. Due to these organizations, there are many instances of violence and needless deaths.
There are many different drug lords, and they have caused many issues throughout Mexico.
The Mexican government has been fighting a war with drug traffickers since December 2006. At the
time, drug cartels have fought each country for control of territory. ( Mexico Drug War ) Many people
in Mexico are unwilling to wait so instead, in communities all across the country, groups of men have
donned masks, picked up rifles and machetes, and begun patrolling their neighborhoods and
farmlands. Many Mexican have lost their faith in the government of willing to protect them. (Foreign
Affairs Vol.92) More than 60,000 people have been killed from 2006 to 2012 due to the drug war
violence, but when Enrique Pena Nieto assumed the presidency, intentional homicide numbers have
declined slightly, but the number of kidnappings continues to rise. Ninety percent of the cocaine that
enters to the United States traffics through Mexico. Mexico s main supplier of marijuana and

Shortly before Calderon took the office. La Familia Michoacana had decapitated members of a rival
cartel and tossed their heads onto a dance floor at a club. When Calderon assumed the presidency, he
realized that he couldn t rely on federal police. To win this war against the cartels, Calderon needed
real cops he could trust. The Mexican Government has killed or has captured around 40 major cartel
members. One of the biggest captures of cartel members was in December 200, when the Mexican
Marines destroyed the Beltran Leyva Cartel, killing its leader and capturing all of his top duties.

Our bodies need water to perform well. Most of us do not drink enough water each day, thus we likely
suffer from mild dehydration. Inadequate water intake has a surprise impact to dieters. If you are
trying to lose weight but fail to drink adequate water, you can find yourself on a plateau. You know
what I mean is that you follow your diet, but the scales don t reflect a loss. I welcome you to read this
entire article and learn of the importance of water to our well being.
If you are trying to lose weight, then water is your friend. It is also necessary for the body s
biochemical processes, and is especially important for us when we diet to lose weight.
The body converts the stored fat into energy. Dehydration, the lack of water, can cause a slow down in
the metabolism. The slower the metabolism, the slower the weight loss. Without adequate water, the
weight loss will slow down or completely stop. We call that reaching a plateau we continue to diet, but
the scales do not move.
Did you know that water is a natural appetite suppressant? There is a region in the brain which

You told me about all the Indian women you counsel who say they don t want to be Indian no more
because a white man or Indian one raped them... Colonizers viewed the bodies of Indians as dirty or
unwashed because of the color of their skin and volatile acts done to their unwashed bodies is not
considered violence. This notion led many colonials to view Indian women as rapable ( Dangerous

American woman suffers abuse, this abuse is an attack on her identity as a woman and an attack on
her identity as Native (8). Not wanting to be an Indian anymore after experiencing sexual violence is a

Every year, bright and brilliant students enter or continue in the Folsom Cordova Unified School
District (FCUSD) for their secondary education. These are students who are capable of outshining
each other with their own unique and various ways. There are students who simply want to graduate.
Then, there are also students who are unsure and unconfident about their paths however aiming for
high educations. Lastly, there are students who are vigorously passionate and confident aiming for the
pinnacle. FCUSD has done their best to optimize school curriculum and programs that appeals to all
types of students. The current curriculum is able to provide students proper education followed by the
California Curriculum Instruction as well as help students who are lacking behind better known as
accelerated courses. The current curriculum is working, but is it able to keep up with the fast moving
stream of the reputable colleges? Can FCUSD further aid the vigorously passionate and confident
student aim for their academic career path by improving the curriculum? Yes, FCUSD is capable of
making a different academic acceleration program that encourages outstanding high school students to
learn academic subject outside conventional education at a faster rate by means of available resources
and/or online courses. The purpose of this program is to give the opportunity for students who finds
the conventional education too slow and would like to take higher courses like in community college

Shrek s Message
In traditional fairy tales, ogres are man eating beasts. The prince usually rescues the princess, they

In this essay I am going to analyse the characters of Shrek and Lord Farquaad and write about how the
film makers use different interpretations making Shrek as good and the Prince as evil to create an
unusual fairytale.
In traditional fairytales they start with an elaborate book which opens up to tell the story, gradually
each page of the book turns to reveal the next page. The book starts by telling the ... Show more

more family. We had went in the middle of June and were going for a week, we took a plane there and
back and stayed at a hotel for a day or two. My family and I went up to Orlando for a couple days and
then we drove to Miami, Florida to see my cousins because they used to live up in Miami. When my

Racial Inequalities In America
Racial Inequality and the American Dream

known as the land of opportunity. Immigrants and people come from far and wide seeking success and
achieving their dream in this land. There is a reason for that and throughout history this reason hasn t

There is a reason why blacks are quicker to be arrested then whites, or why white neighborhoods look
nicer then black neighborhoods, or why blacks are accused of crimes more than whites. Most people
will think it is the way of the world. Racial discrimination will always exist in America. It doesn t
need to be this way. Our government does not care enough about the black people and it clearly
shown. There should be a law against police just arresting blacks for no reason. They should have
their neighborhoods fixed up too. It shouldn t be legal to just be able to accuse a black person of a
crime because he happened to be standing there. There are so many more examples of this and it just
shows how are government thinks impartially too and doesn t believe the black people are important
or worth their time. Richard Hughes was very bothered by this and he did a study with his students to
show them how blacks are treated unfairly. They analyzed crimes and arrests of black people in the
past few months. The looked at how much less money the government puts into black housing then
whites. The sources include historical and recent statistics on race, wealth, and housing; a 1937
photograph by Margaret Bourke White juxtaposing African American flood victims and a billboard
proclaiming, There s No Way Like the American Way (Hughes139). The students after doing this all
got the point and all felt the same way as the teacher. a broader sense of racial discrimination, one
student wrote, Even after their emancipation after the Civil War, African Americans have faced many
forces preventing them from living the „American Dream‟ (139). He felt the importance of his
students going into the world after school, understanding this and maybe trying to get the government
to handle this issue.

Civil Aspects Of The Indigenous Communities
The Indigenous people throughout Mexico have had a tumultuous history filled with violence and
repression. Their rich cultures have repeatedly been infringed upon by outside cultures, and their place
in the world remains uncertain to this day. This battle to retain their culture began centuries ago, and
envelopes all different types of Indigenous groups, from the old Aztecs to the Zapotecs. Their society
was and remains to be very different from popular culture in Mexico and Spain during the times of the
Conquistadores, and they have therefore been subjected to different persecutions and maltreatments
throughout history. The Indigenous people have had their own customs and social laws since their
inception. These customs are very different than popular Mexican society, and therefore are the targets
of criticism and persecution at the hands of the Mexican government. One of the most defining civil
aspects of the Indigenous communities is the concept of communal land. The land was owned by the
community as a whole, known as Ejido land, and households were given land to work and live on in
exchange for their agreement to follow the social aspects of the society. The system was a complex

Mate Choice And Species Recognition Amongst D. Simulans
Mate Choice and Species Recognition amongst D. simulans and D. mauritiana

Abstract
Sexual selection is a kind of natural selection that happened to come about through a specific
preference by one sex for definite characteristics in individuals of the opposite sex. When it comes to
choosing a mate, mate choice is very important for individuals to avoid mating with the wrong species
but it also operates within a species as well. The species used for this experiment were D. simulans
and D. mauritiana, two species which are very closely related to D. melanogaster. D. simulans and D.
mauritiana are also closely related and tend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, mate choice is extremely important for individuals to avoid mating with the wrong species
but it also operates within a species as well. This tendency to avoid heterospecific mates is called
behavioral isolation. Mate choice can be important in the evolutionary process, speciation, in which
populations of conspecific diverge into separate species (Ecology and Evolution Behavior Lab
Packet). It is extremely beneficial, mostly to females, to be choosy. Being choosy is a major element
of sexual selection because by choosing the male with the most desirable traits, the offspring of the
female end up benefiting due to receiving the best genes possible. Species that are very closely related
are more likely to evolve resilient species discrimination due to the emphasis of preferences amongst
mates. The cost of fitness of heterospecific matings have been thought to be higher in the females than
in the males. The reason being that the females are investing more resources into the offspring where
as the males are not, so if the females happen to mate with the wrong species and all of the offspring
die or become sterile, this ends up being a huge waste of resources for females as opposed to males
who would not being losing out on much at all. A consequence of the higher cost of fitness for
heterospecific matings would be that females are more likely to show stronger species

How Different Gender Will Affect The Reaction Rate Of 13
YR 12
INVESTIGATION: REACTION TIMES.
BY CAITLIN DAWSON
TITLE: How different gender will affect the reaction rate of 13 to 17 years olds.
ABSTRACT: This investigation entailed the study of wether gender will affect the reaction times
when tested. The average visual reaction time for a human is 0.25 seconds (250 milliseconds) and the
average touch reception is 0.15 seconds (150 milliseconds), adding both these figures gives and
estimated group time of 0.40 seconds (400 milliseconds). The average reaction speed for the boys was
342 and the average reaction speed for the girls was 392, in relation to average reaction speed these
results are quite accurate as the age bracket was younger and smaller than the expected averages for
humans. This investigation is well related to society as the measurement of visual reaction time has
been used to evaluate the processing speed of Central Nervous System and the co ordination between
the sensory and motor systems, when shown a visual stimulus.
Stimulus Sensory Neuron Spinal Cord/Brain Motor Neuron = Response.
INTRODUCTION: Reaction time plays a very important role in our lives as it determines our every
day life, factors that can affect the average human reaction time including age, gender, exercise/
health, distractions, height etc. Reaction time is a measure of how quick organisms can respond to
types of stimulus, e.g visual or auditory. A reflex is a rapid, automatic response to a change in the

In Person Communication Vs Email Research Paper

Compare and contrast essay: In person communication vs Email.
Technology developments made us able to fasten our daily activities, to reach people in every
part of the globe and communicate rapidly, everywhere and instantly. Although this is
advantageous in terms of time and convenience, it could be not the best choice in terms of human
communication. In fact, according to recent researches, human communication works in a
complicate way and involves more than a mere exchange of information. The lack of direct
contact can undermine an effective communication and cause misunderstandings. It is important
to realize when email communication should be set aside in favor of in person communication in ...

To illustrate this, communication studies affirm that 38 percent of a
message is expressed by voice intonation, 55 percent by body language and facial expressions,
and only 7 percent is derived from the words. All these aspects that constitute communication,
of course, cannot be perceived by the addressee of a simple Email. This makes more clear why
we communicate more effectively in face to face conversations. There are also neurological
reason that affect our perceptions when we communicate in person: during in person
communication the thoughts and feelings of the communicator resound in the brain of the
receiver, neurological responses are sharp and the message is understood in a more rounded and
detailed way. In a sense, in face to face communication occurs a sort of synchronization between
the communicator`s and the receiver`s minds. Empathy is another key factor that plays a great
rule in this regard. Empathy activates our mirror neurons making us able to connect with our
interlocutor, understand his feelings and detect other messages hidden in his tone of voice and
body language. Facial expression cannot be substituted by emoji and shades in the tone of

A Picture s Worth a Thousand Words
Taking a photograph of myself that signified something of what it means for me personally and maybe
other students like me to be a university student today does more than just record a moment in my life.
It shows the world what I care the most about. There are some people who agree with me but that
doesn t mean that everyone in the world have the same idea of what it means to be a university student
today but in my opinion it means hanging out with your good friends and doing things together. In my
picture you see only the upper half of three different young women standing next to one another. The
first girl is standing on the far left side of the picture. She is wearing a translucent chocolate brown
shirt, it s sleeves reaching down to her elbows, three slim bracelets resting on both her wrists. A tan
colored scarf with dark brown skulls printed randomly all over is wrapped loosely around her neck,
she is wearing a pair of blue jeans and a tan/off white pair of soludos shoes. She is also carrying a
light blue purse which is hanging around her torso. The girl is positioned closer to the camera. She is
turned where her right arm is fully seen while her left arm is only somewhat visible, her entire right
leg is also seen completely while her left leg is still somewhat visible as well. Her head is turned
towards the audience. This girl has a deep chocolate brown hair and it is somewhat wavy and reaches
just below her shoulders. She is smiling with her teeth showing and her

Morality In Flannery O Connor s Dead Man Walking
The story, Dead Man Walking, is about a Catholic Nun, Sister Helen Prejean who begins to have
communications with prison inmates who are death row for the murder of teenagers. She eventually
decides to visit Patrick Sonnier, a man in prison and even becomes his spiritual advisor. It is through
these interactions that she begins to have sympathy for those who are supposed to face a similar
penalty, especially when she finds out that sometimes the people who are convicted are not the ones
who committed the offense. Prejean also looks at the issue from the morality that is presented in the
bible. She states, Do you really believe that Jesus, who taught us not to return hate for hate and evil for

Literary Scholarship And Criticism Of Shakespeare s The...
Shakespeare critic and Harvard literature professor, Harold Bloom, asserts that Shakespeare is the
metaphorical inventor of man. Bloom writes:
The plays remain the outward limit of human achievement: aesthetically, cognitively, in certain ways
morally, even spiritually. They abide beyond the end of the mind s reach, we cannot catch up to them.
Shakespeare will go on explaining us, in part because, he invented us (pp. 19 20).
Bloom s audacious evaluation of Shakespeare has been echoed throughout the canon of literary
scholarship and criticism. In fact, Bloom s invention thesis, found in Shakespeare: The Invention of
the Human, represents a culmination of centuries of teaching and reflection upon the famous English

Hamlet: The Prince of Denmark is a hallmark example of Shakespeare s contemplation of social
tolerance and equity in the exploration of human sociology. In this play, we see the malignant
ambition of newly throned King Claudius, the questionable decision making of Queen Gertrude, and
the emotionally preying and encompassing force of murdered King Hamlet s ghost, construct the
grounds for contemplation of human drama; this contemplation is essentially distilled and literally
embodied by the character of Prince Hamlet. Moreover, the truth, hidden at the onset of this play, sets
the internal and external conflict for Prince Hamlet as well as the figurative stage for a study of human
character and action, or alternatively, ego and power. Prince Hamlet s own ego is festered by the crime
against his father: a murder committed by Hamlet s ambitious uncle, Claudius, whose own ego has led
him down a the path of a usurper. Yet, Shakespeare exposes that the pains of human ego are not
morally equivalent between these two. Hamlet s pain and feelings of slight come at the potential truth
that his father was murder. His ego is that of a wounded sense of self created out of the anguish he
feels in his inability to take deliberate action against Claudius, driven out of the lack of evidence to

Archetypes In How The Grinch Stole Christmas By Dr Seuss
How the Grinch stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss is about a character named Grinch who hates Christmas

school of thought I chose to analyse this poem is archetypal. Readers can find recurring symbols,
theme, characters, and images that are often found in many works of literature. The most common are
the archetypal conflicts and characters. One of the obvious archetypes in this poem is Good versus
Evil. The citizens of Whoville are thought to be good because they love Christmas and only needed
each other to celebrate it. The Grinch is considered to be evil for his plain s to foil Christmas. His
attitude and character do not help his case

Sexual Education. Sexual Education Has Always Been An...
Sexual Education Sexual education has always been an extremely heated topic among parents,
teachers, lawmakers, and everyone in between. It has led to several court cases, new rules and laws,
and different and very creative ways of teaching sexual intercourse and the potential repercussions to
preteens and teens. Most students probably started talking about sex on the playground or while they
were hanging out with friends well before they should have been speaking about it. In today s society,
sex is easily attainable through the internet. Mass media is the number one contributor to literally

In Europe, educators contemplated bringing sex education to the classrooms as early as the late 19th
century. In America, schools first began to implement sex education in the mid 1920s. In a book that
talks about the social, political, and local goals of schooling, the author states, Originally sex
education was promoted in 1926 by the National Education Association s committee on Character
Education as a means of combatting the decline of the family and regulating sexual impulses for the
good of society (Moral Values and Sex Education). In other words, schools wanted to teach students
how to control their sex drive, but almost increase in making families. In my opinion, I don t think that
makes much sense. Sex education is just as controversial in other countries as it is in the United
States. Fascists in Italy and Germany thought Marxists were the ones that thought of this type of
education. Several parents told their children they came from Santa Clause, the gooseberry tree, and
even fished out of the river. Although a lot of open minded, progressive countries thought sex was too
contentious of a subject to be taught in schools, many of the citizens did not want to be the ones that
had to teach their children about the birds and the bees. Joseph Zimmerman who wrote about the
global history of sex education stated, It was left to the schools and teachers to help dispel any cultural
myths surrounding sex (Zimmerman). In America, when teachers

Dell vs Hp
1. Introduction Both Dell and HP are two strong players in PC industry which refers to an industry
where companies produces PCs (desktops and notebooks), handheld devices (smart phones and

differs. Dell, once the world s largest PC maker in 2001, has continually lost its market share to HP
and Acer since 2007 (Guglielmo 2009). The cause is rooted in two differences of these companies:
company diversifications and core competences. Therefore, how firms can continually survive in the
PC business is more of an issue for Dell than for HP. Nevertheless, survival is not enough. Mainly

Remanufacturing has several advantages in today s business world; equipment s that are considered
expensive are produced at an economical cost and also makes for environmental friendly
manufacturing. The aim of this study is to empirically investigate the major drivers for
remanufacturing in Nigeria. From the empirical analysis, it was found that factors which encourages
remanufacturing are economic, environmental and social factors. The methodology employed in this
study is a questionnaire survey method, where the drivers for remanufacturing in Nigeria were
empirically determined. The study contributes to the body of knowledge on remanufacturing in

Literature Review (based on 3 peer reviewed scholarly sources):
The common assumption throughout the selected sources was to describe the intensification of the

Wai Chung Ho, 2000; Wai Chung 2006) In the first place, it is important to have knowledge of the
origin of the political conflict between Hong Kong and Public Republic of China before examining its
relation to the hot flash of local politic song. Baehr (2001) depicts The retrocession of Hong Kong to
China on 1 July 1997 was marked a major consequences for both domestic and Chinese politics. The
focal point is that One country, two systems has become the constitutional principle to Hong Kong,

assuring everyone to share a common value within the society, which is the matter of identity . To

The Disadvantages Of Living At Home
While attending your college classes, some of your classmates may live in a dorm on campus, while
others may commute from home. Yes, we are all trying to achieve the same goal, a diploma, but it is
the struggles that lead up to earning that piece of paper that we must take into consideration. Cost,
opportunities, and distractions all should be considered, and that is why commuting from home would
be the smartest choice when attending college. When discussing cost, it can be a huge difference
maker whether you are choosing to live at home or on campus. When you choose to live on campus,
you have to experience dorm life, pay room and board, and live off of cheap food. Coming from a
student who currently lives at home while attending college, I save so much more money than some of
my friends who live on campus. An advantage of living at home is that I am capable of paying off my
student loans as I go through school because tuition is much cheaper and you get to work as well. You
can work whether you live on campus or at home, but you get to save more money while living at
home because you have less tuition and expenses. Not having to worry about all of the student loan
debt after college takes a lot of stress off of me. While living at home, I also have been able to buy my

San Diego Wildfires
San Diego Wildfires: Smoke and Ash Debris a Public Health Concern
San Diego Wildfires
The county of San Diego is a unique haven to hundreds of state and federally recognized endangered,
threatened, or rare plant and animal species (The Nature Conservancy, n.d.). San Diego is also a
territory with a long history of environmentally catastrophic wildfires. The Cedar and Witch Creek
Fires are two of the most recent and notorious wildfires in California history for their degree of
damage in terms of acreage burned and overall expense (The City of San Diego, n.d.). During and
after these massive wildfire events is a significant public health concern related to respiratory health
from the effects of smoke and ash debris. The challenges presented in mitigating and managing these
health issues extends into county budget, public education, and cohesive multi agency prevention and
recovery efforts. Moreover, participatory efforts from the residents of San Diego County is key to the

The first part is to prepare the air conditioning system for removal of the evaporator, the second part is the removal of the evaporator, the third part is the reinstallation of the evaporator, and the fourth part is the proper testing to verify that the repair was successful. First we ll cover the preparation of the a/c system for the removal of the evaporator. The first step is to identify the type of refrigerant in the system using a refrigerant Id machine. The second step is to recover the refrigerant from the system using a recovery machine, be sure to use the correct machine and fittings for the type of refrigerant in the system, usually R 12 or R 134a. The third step would only apply if the heater hose(s) have to be removed to gain access and that is to drain the coolant from the radiator into a clean container. It is only a matter of interpretation to see if that one particular person is worth the title. I suppose that there can be different types of heros, either in fantasy or reality. In the novel, Our Twisted Hero by Yi Munyol, that one particular person to be interpreted prevails a twisted hero. A twisted hero is more or less a hero who represents power, feeling, and contains the intrepidity of a leader. He is Om Sokdae, a person who is thought to have only existed in fable. The idea of an event like this happening in elementary school is not absurd because it provides understanding of social stratification in the world outside of the soul. So in the novel, Sokdae s rank situation should not be declined, for it is an insight of social stratification and almost defines a fraction of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Voting in National Elections Should be Compulsory Not... It was in 1928 that universal suffrage had been granted in the United Kingdom. Prior to that time, people fought to have the right to vote so their opinions could be voiced, yet now we have that right, voting does not seem so significant. Before deciding whether voting should be compulsory or optional, understanding what exactly is meant by the term compulsory voting is essential. It is also important to educate the general public more about politics so they can make an informed decision if and when they do choose to vote. Finally, there should be a comparison with other countries which currently enforce compulsory voting to better understand how it would work. There are some people who believe that they are not well informed so they do not know who to vote for in elections. Others are prepared to express a view without having the slightest knowledge about the subject (Kavanagh, 1983:13). However, if voting were made compulsory, political parties would spend less money on getting out the vote , and spend more time on campaigning their policies (Electoral Reform Society, 2009; IDEA, 2009) and so making the public more aware of what they are trying to achieve and why people should vote for them. As less money is spent on (often negative) campaigning, there would be a decrease in the opportunity for corruption in politics by reducing the need for party fundraising (Faulks, 2001:24). The public should be more educated about politics and the policies of the parties they may or may not vote for because the more intense, informed and stable an opinion is, the more likely a person is to act on it (Kavanagh, 1983:14). Nevertheless, the information provided in educating the public has to be interesting, something which engages public interest and stimulates debate, as opposed to apathy and alienation (Heywood, 2007:255) and this would be much easier to do with the enforcement of compulsory voting rather than politicians ... Our government does not care enough about the black people and it clearly shown. There should be a law against police just arresting blacks for no reason. They should have their neighborhoods fixed up too. It shouldn t be legal to just be able to accuse a black person of a crime because he happened to be standing there. There are so many more examples of this and it just shows how are government thinks impartially too and doesn t believe the black people are important or worth their time. Their rich cultures have repeatedly been infringed upon by outside cultures, and their place in the world remains uncertain to this day. This battle to retain their culture began centuries ago, and envelopes all different types of Indigenous groups, from the old Aztecs to the Zapotecs. Their society was and remains to be very different from popular culture in Mexico and Spain during the times of the Conquistadores, and they have therefore been subjected to different persecutions and maltreatments throughout history. The Indigenous people have had their own customs and social laws since their inception. These customs are very different than popular Mexican society, and therefore are the targets of criticism and persecution at the hands of the Mexican government. One of the most defining civil aspects of the Indigenous communities is the concept of communal land. The land was owned by the community as a whole, known as Ejido land, and households were given land to work and live on in exchange for their agreement to follow the social aspects of the society. Therefore, mate choice is extremely important for individuals to avoid mating with the wrong species but it also operates within a species as well. This tendency to avoid heterospecific mates is called behavioral isolation. Mate choice can be important in the evolutionary process, speciation, in which populations of conspecific diverge into separate species (Ecology and Evolution Behavior Lab Packet). It is extremely beneficial, mostly to females, to be choosy. Being choosy is a major element of sexual selection because by choosing the male with the most desirable traits, the offspring of the female end up benefiting due to receiving the best genes possible. Species that are very closely related are more likely to evolve resilient species discrimination due to the emphasis of preferences amongst mates. The cost of fitness of heterospecific matings have been thought to be higher in the females than in the males. The reason being that the females are investing more resources into the offspring where as the males are not, so if the females happen to mate with the wrong species and all of the offspring die or become sterile, this ends up being a huge waste of resources for females as opposed to males who would not being losing out on much at all. A consequence of the higher cost of fitness for heterospecific matings would be that females are more likely to show stronger species ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

BY CAITLIN DAWSON TITLE: How different gender will affect the reaction rate of 13 to 17 years olds. ABSTRACT: This investigation entailed the study of wether gender will affect the reaction times when tested. The average visual reaction time for a human is 0.25 seconds (250 milliseconds) and the average touch reception is 0.15 seconds (150 milliseconds), adding both these figures gives and estimated group time of 0.40 seconds (400 milliseconds). The average reaction speed for the boys was 342 and the average reaction speed for the girls was 392, in relation to average reaction speed these results are quite accurate as the age bracket was younger and smaller than the expected averages for humans. This investigation is well related to society as the measurement of visual reaction time has been used to evaluate the processing speed of Central Nervous System and the co ordination between the sensory and motor systems, when shown a visual stimulus. Technology developments made us able to fasten our daily activities, to reach people in every part of the globe and communicate rapidly, everywhere and instantly. Although this is advantageous in terms of time and convenience, it could be not the best choice in terms of human communication. This makes more clear why we communicate more effectively in face to face conversations. There are also neurological reason that affect our perceptions when we communicate in person: during in person communication the thoughts and feelings of the communicator resound in the brain of the receiver, neurological responses are sharp and the message is understood in a more rounded and detailed way. In a sense, in face to face communication occurs a sort of synchronization between the communicator`s and the receiver`s minds. Empathy is another key factor that plays a great rule in this regard. Bloom writes: The plays remain the outward limit of human achievement: aesthetically, cognitively, in certain ways morally, even spiritually. They abide beyond the end of the mind s reach, we cannot catch up to them. Shakespeare will go on explaining us, in part because, he invented us (pp. 19 20). Bloom s audacious evaluation of Shakespeare has been echoed throughout the canon of literary scholarship and criticism. In this play, we see the malignant ambition of newly throned King Claudius, the questionable decision making of Queen Gertrude, and the emotionally preying and encompassing force of murdered King Hamlet s ghost, construct the grounds for contemplation of human drama; this contemplation is essentially distilled and literally embodied by the character of Prince Hamlet. Moreover, the truth, hidden at the onset of this play, sets the internal and external conflict for Prince Hamlet as well as the figurative stage for a study of human character and action, or alternatively, ego and power. Prince Hamlet s own ego is festered by the crime against his father: a murder committed by Hamlet s ambitious uncle, Claudius, whose own ego has led him down a the path of a usurper. Yet, Shakespeare exposes that the pains of human ego are not morally equivalent between these two. Hamlet s pain and feelings of slight come at the potential truth that his father was murder. His ego is that of a wounded sense of self created out of the anguish he feels in his inability to take deliberate action against Claudius, driven out of the lack of evidence to truly ... Archetypes In How The Grinch Stole Christmas By Dr Seuss How the Grinch stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss is about a character named Grinch who hates Christmas and decides to ruin Christmas for the citizens of Whoville by stealing their gifts, food, and trees. The school of thought I chose to analyse this poem is archetypal. Readers can find recurring symbols, theme, characters, and images that are often found in many works of literature. The most common are the archetypal conflicts and characters. One of the obvious archetypes in this poem is Good versus Evil. Sexual Education Sexual education has always been an extremely heated topic among parents, teachers, lawmakers, and everyone in between. It has led to several court cases, new rules and laws, and different and very creative ways of teaching sexual intercourse and the potential repercussions to preteens and teens. Most students probably started talking about sex on the playground or while they were hanging out with friends well before they should have been speaking about it. In Europe, educators contemplated bringing sex education to the classrooms as early as the late 19th century. In America, schools first began to implement sex education in the mid 1920s. In a book that talks about the social, political, and local goals of schooling, the author states, Originally sex education was promoted in 1926 by the National Education Association s committee on Character Education as a means of combatting the decline of the family and regulating sexual impulses for the good of society (Moral Values and Sex Education). In other words, schools wanted to teach students how to control their sex drive, but almost increase in making families. In my opinion, I don t think that makes much sense. Sex education is just as controversial in other countries as it is in the United States. Fascists in Italy and Germany thought Marxists were the ones that thought of this type of education. Several parents told their children they came from Santa Clause, the gooseberry tree, and even fished out of the river. Although a lot of open minded, progressive countries thought sex was too contentious of a subject to be taught in schools, many of the citizens did not want to be the ones that had to teach their children about the birds and the bees. Joseph Zimmerman who wrote about the global history of sex education stated, It was left to the schools and teachers to help dispel any cultural myths surrounding sex (Zimmerman). Introduction Both Dell and HP are two strong players in PC industry which refers to an industry where companies produces PCs (desktops and notebooks), handheld devices (smart phones and tablets), and workstations. However, with growing global expansion, Dell and HP s performance differs. Dell, once the world s largest PC maker in 2001, has continually lost its market share to HP and Acer since 2007 (Guglielmo 2009).
