Investigation Of Funds Earmarked For Public Projects
My letter is in response to your recent article bemoaning the fees charged by an accounting firm in
conjunction with an investigation of funds earmarked for public projects in our community. Based on
the information presented in the article, it appeared that the author did not properly appreciate the
difference between normal accounting and forensic accounting. Additionally, the author did not
appreciate the value provided by forensic accountants. The following addresses both of these
information gaps.
Forensic accounting began as just a necessary solution to the age old problem: what arrows does
someone have in their quiver to avoid, detect, and address fraud? Since then, forensic accounting has
spun off from its brother, professional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The court allowed an expert witness who had examined the bankrupt estate s books to testify. This
marked the first time that a forensic accountant had an established place in the modern economy. Later
on, forensic accounting was used to detect tax evasion amongst businesses that attempted to hide
earnings in bank accounts in multiple states and was originally a part of the United States Department
of Justice. Over time, this government agency eventually became known as the FBI. With time the
scope of the forensic accountants practice expanded, allowing them to help detect and prohibit the
selling and trading of women and drug trafficking. Forensic accountants have been, and will continue
to be, an important component of the society s moral fabric. The link between forensic accounting and
professional auditing begins and ends with the Fundamental Principles and the Specific Guidance
Statements of Auditing for the forensic accountant. Professionals in both forensic accounting and
independent external auditing must maintain integrity, objectivity, professional competence and due
care, confidentiality, and professional behavior. These are the fundamental principles. Both types of
accountants must have these principles, although there may be differences between the forensic
accountant and the external auditor within how each of these five areas are applied in practice. For
instance, both disciplines require integrity. For the external auditor,

Lego Group
Project definition:
LEGO is one of the largest companies in Denmark and a company with a very strong brand. But even
so, their economy fell apart in 2003 2004 and we are interested in what they did wrong and what they
did to turn their significant loss around to a profit in 2005. So our problem is:
What caused LEGO s financial problems in and what did they do to turn it around? This is very
relevant, because it shows how even one of the biggest brands in a market can t afford to relax in any
aspect of the value chain. Even though LEGO is a big brand, their profitability is not to be taken for
granted.
To answer the problem we used a history of LEGO, made a Value Chain, a SW model and
organization structure.
There has been some significant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Knudstorp then realized that the problem did not lie with the product, but with the company s attempts
in the 1990 s to become a lifestyle brand with its own line of clothes and watches and they built more
theme parks as well. By doing this, they started neglecting their core business: the LEGO brick.
Value Chain of LEGO:
In March 2004, Knudstorp launched his dramatic turnaround plan: a mix of cost cutting, philosophical
renewal and back to basics simplicity. This Action Plan was emphasizing three main themes: Set clear
direction for the LEGO Group and fundamentally change the way they do business. Restore
competitiveness by focusing on costumers, in particular their profitability. Reducing the level of risk
by right sizing their activities, cost base and assets to a lower revenue base.
Inbound logistics
Lego has reduced significantly its number of plastic resin suppliers, and has signed longer term
contracts which reduced and stabilized pricing, lowering costs and enabling better planning.
Operations
LEGO has rationalized production lines, reducing the number of products that could be made on each
machine, adding simplicity and reducing changeover costs. It established more fixed production
cycles, and better tied manufacturing to the rest of the supply chain. For example, it was no longer
acceptable to make manual changes in a molding machine without

A Research Study On Breastfeeding
Case study: breastfeeding
Breast feeding rates in developed countries such as the UK, Australia and the US are typically lower
than World Health Organisation goals Parkinson (2010) 3. From a study carried out by Queensland
university stressed the importance of not only the delivery of literature on how effective breastfeeding
is for your babies health but that what was also needed to increase the number of breast feeders was to
give personal support and explains social and environmental benefits also. When they looked at the
UK in particular, Parkinson (2010) 3 stated women already understood that breastfeeding was good
for their baby, and what they needed were the tools to help them to breastfeed longer. From this it is
clear that although effective and sufficient information around the benefits of the child is being
addressed, there is no sufficient information or skills being given direct to the parents in order for
them to carry this out for any length of time. Another piece of research was carried out in 2010 on
ways to change the paradigm of breastfeeding, from encouraging promotion of breast feeding within
the employment setting. Dr Lawrence (2010) 1 said instead of promoting the tremendous benefits of
breastfeeding to this population, the risks of formula feeding and the costs to health and the
community of not breastfeeding will have to incorporated into persuading these women to do the best
for their infants and themselves .

County, North Carolina and goes into detail about her findings during her visit there between 1967 and
1968. Blu argues that the political history of the Lumbee Indians was greatly affected by the

Blacks had slight feelings that the Indians weren t so polite, they knew their intentions weren t bad.

Blistering Research Paper
Introduction
Experts believe that terrorist use of chemical agents is an event with low probability, but potentially
high consequences. While terrorist groups may or may not have an increased interest in chemical
agent acquisition and use, the domestic vulnerability of the United States to chemical attack remains
an issue. Both the United States and Russia have signed and ratified the Chemical Weapons
Convention (CWC), and are reducing, and eventually eliminating, their chemical weapon stockpiles.1
The possibility that terrorist groups might obtain insecure chemical weapons led to increased scrutiny
of declared Libyan chemical weapon stockpiles following the fall of the Qadhafi regime. Experts have

Some agents can penetrate through normal clothing material, causing burns even in cloth covered
areas. While blister agents react quickly upon skin contact, their symptoms may be delayed. In the
case of mustard agent, damage occurs within one to two minutes of exposure, but symptoms do not
manifest for several hours.18 As even low concentrations of vaporized blister agents quickly cause
damage, it is unlikely that exposed individuals can remove these agents from the skin prior to injury.
The initial symptoms of blister agent exposure are a reddening of the skin, resembling sunburn,
combined with pain in the affected area. Swollen skin, blisters, and lesions may then develop,
depending on the degree of exposure. Systemic symptoms, such as malaise, vomiting, and fever, may
also develop in extreme cases. Exposure to large amounts of liquid mustard agent may prove fatal.19
The eyes are also very sensitive to blister agents. Following exposure to high concentration vapor,
great pain, corneal damage, and scarring may occur. Liquid agent often causes the most severe eye
damage. This may come from contact with airborne droplets or by self contamination of the eyes from
contaminated clothing or body

Comparing Marie Clements s The Unnatural And Accidental Women
Between 1965 and 1988 Gilbert Paul Jordan was linked to the murders of ten women of aboriginal
dissent. Marie Clements play The Unnatural and Accidental Women puts a fictional account to the
realistic murders of the aboriginal women in Vancouver. During the original murders the large
misunderstanding and misinterpretation around aboriginal culture caused the murders of the women to
be ignored, the women themselves to be viewed as invisible, or the murders to be deemed not
important or accidental . In her play Clements recreates the original murders of the boozing barber ,
Gilbert Paul Jordan, however in the play she creates an identity for the murdered women that was not
shown by the media, police or culture in Vancouver at the time of the original murders. The original
murders of the boozing barber were completed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most important aspects that Sharon Sullivan highlights in her article about the play is how
its surrealism allows for the focus to be on the women, and not the killings. Clements decentres the act
of murder by focusing on the experiences and actions of the women before and after death,
emphasizing their individuality and the possibility of redemption. (Sullivan, 68) The film, however,
nullifies any attempt by the play to humanize these women, for it cuts out the witty dialogues between
the women, portraying them only as they are represented in the media, as alcoholics, prostitutes, and
victims. The movie places the murder and Rebecca, Aunt Shadie s Daughter, at the center of the plot
line and completely erases the side stories of the murdered aboriginal women. While the screenplay is
also written by Marie Clements, it dehumanizes the women by stripping them of their identity and
turning their stories back into a classic Hollywood horror

Byron was one of the main characters in the book The Watsons Go To Birmingham 1963. At the
beginning of the book he was a Bully, he was self centered, and he was irresponsible. But towards the
end of the book, his personality started to change. He was a supportive, patient, and protective brother
to both Kenny and Joetta.
At the beginning of the book, he was a bully. He beat up Larry Dunn. He was the King of Clark but
unfortunately, Byron was the god. He beat up Larry Dunn for stealing Kenny s glove. Maybe Larry
Dunn stole Kenny s gloves because he was cold or maybe he didn t have enough money to buy gloves,

Joetta. He was also patient. When Kenny was crying in the bathroom he let him cry on his lap. In the
story, they say that Kenny cried more than when Joetta drooled all over Kenny s pants. He also looked
behind the couch once in a while to see if Kenny was okay. He also took time to play basketball with
him and make all his friends be nice to him. He was also very protective. He told Kenny not to go to
Collier s landing or the wool pool. But Kenny did anyways. Kenny started drowning and Byron went
to go and save him and gave Kenny kisses on the forehead. Byron was the one who finally got Kenny
to come out of hiding. Byron got to talk to Kenny about the bombing and Byron convinced Kenny that

John Adams, Jr.
John Adams, Jr. was an American lawyer, author, statesman, and diplomat. He served as the second
President of the United States, the first Vice President, and as a Founding Father was a leader of
American independence from Great Britain. Adams was a political theorist in the Age of
Enlightenment who promoted republicanism and a strong central government. His innovative ideas
were frequently published. He was also a dedicated diarist and correspondent, particularly with his
wife and key advisor Abigail. He collaborated with his cousin, revolutionary leader Samuel Adams,
but he established his own prominence prior to the American Revolution. After the Boston Massacre,
despite severe local anti British sentiment, he provided a successful though unpopular legal defense of
the accused British soldiers, driven by his devotion to the right to counsel and the of innocence ]]. As a
delegate from Massachusetts to the Continental Congress, Adams played a leading role in persuading
Congress to declare independence. He assisted Thomas Jefferson in drafting the Declaration of
Independence in 1776, and was its foremost advocate in the Congress. As a diplomat in Europe, he
helped negotiate the eventual peace treaty with Great Britain, and acquired vital governmental loans
from Amsterdam bankers. Adams was the primary author of the Massachusetts Constitution in 1780
which influenced American political theory, as did his earlier Thoughts on Government. Adams

The first dialogue is between Lord Polonius and his servant Reynaldo. The servant obediently receives
instruction to deliver some goods to Polonius s son Laertes, a young man vacationing in France.
Furthermore, the true for purpose of this long journey is for his Laertes to be spied on, and progressing

Urbanization is likely to be one of the defining phenomena of the 21st Century for Latin America as
well as the rest of the developing world. The world as a whole became more urban than rural

countries. For the Latin American region, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This migration flow contributed to rapid urban growth, population concentration, and territorial
expansion of these large cities. This process took place in relatively large cities with a significant
consumer market together with a relatively good infrastructure and equipment.
Urbanization in Latin America increased in fifty years (1925 1975) from 25% to 61.2%. The pace of
urbanization, however, declined between 1975 and 2000 and currently the proportion of people living
in urban areas reached 75.3%. While for Latin America during the period 1925 1950 the urban growth
rate almost doubled the total growth rate and the urbanization rate was 2.0%, more recently, between
1975 2000 the urban growth rate was just almost 50% higher than the total growth rate and the
urbanization rate fell to 0.8%. To characterize the urbanization process within Latin America is not an
easy task, since there is a great deal of heterogeneity among countries in terms of their population,
territory and sociodemographic characteristics. In the year 2000 there are countries with population
around 100 million inhabitants (Brazil and México) and other with less than five millions
(Uruguay,Jamaica and Panamá).

Carnivore Narney Research Paper
As the Narneys inside the crater further evolve they start to grow taller and taller. This goes against
Mercury s gravity but this helps them survive. Being taller means that they can capture more sunlight.
An example phototropism are the Narneys leaves. Similar to sunflowers their leaves move with the
sun. Following the sunlight allows them to capture the maximum amount of light energy. An example
of thigmotropism is when pollen touches the Narney. Since pollen is how they reproduce pollen is
vital to their survival. To protect and ensure they receive pollen the reproductive organs of a Narney
closes around pollen. After sensing the pollen it will quickly close around it.

The first one is the herbivores and the other is the carnivores. The herbivores eat the Narneys inside
the crater while the carnivores eat the Narneys outside the crater. This completely changes how the

quicker while the carnivores start to become bigger and stronger.
The herbivore Narney fear the carnivore Narneys because they are their demise. In order to protect
themselves from the carnivore Narneys they form camouflage. This camouflage makes them blend
into Mercury s environment and keep them hidden. Their outer layer become very rough looking and

Leaving The Eu Case Study
Introduction
On Thursday 23rd June, 2016, the UK held a vote on whether to leave or remain within the European

Whilst not being outside the EU does not mean that the UK will be excluded from the single market, it
would be within the UK s best interest to negotiate a favorable trade agreement. Exclusion will not be
a barrier to trade but rather an inconvenience, that if approached strategically could enable the UK to
broker a unilateral free trade policy that allow for speedier negotiations with other countries outside
the EU. Possible tariffs on exports to the EU could be a challenge however the upside is that there is
an opportunity to trade with other countries.
According to an government commissioned review conducted by industry chief Jürgen Maier, Brexit
could put the UK at the forefront of technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, 3D printing,
augmented and virtual reality (Monaghan, 2017). The 246 page review contains a detailed plan of of
measures that will boost UK growth and productivity through the manufacturing sector which will
increase exports and earning potential, ushering in the 4th industrial revolution worth over £455bn

Wordsworth And Shelley s On Powers And Illusions Of The...
The Romantic period, a time that writers such as Wordsworth and Shelley focused their writing in the
centre of life and social importance. An important aspect of Romanticism: its emphasis upon the
power and terrors of the inner imaginative life (Watson, 2012, p. 1). The Prelude celebrates
Wordsworth s life retained through memories and with the act of remembering, depicting emotions
and experiences. Whereas, Shelley and the Ode to the West Wind engaged his audience with inner and
outer lives situations, ideas and elements of nature that represent his own position and ideas. This
essay will compare and contrast Wordsworth recollections and Shelley dramatizations of the powers
and terrors of the inner imaginative life . Also considering, rhyme scheme, stanza forms, the reasons
for the use of assonance and alliteration, and other poetic techniques. Finally, how do these effects
relate to the main question. When given consideration to the poems, the descriptions demonstrated a
deeper power of inner imaginative life. The power as stated comes from the heart or the soul, but also
somehow from outside (The Open University, 2012, Romantic authorship, transcript p. 1). In
comparison, both poets combine natural landscape with sublime vision of poetic power, that creates
debates to what is real and or subjective. The Romantic period required authors to fulfil the Romantic
ideology. Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792 1822) with a reputation for social and political ideas

moods and performance of 29 customer service representatives in a large insurance company over a
three week period. They wanted to find out how the mood that customer service representatives bring
to the workplace at the start of the day influence task engagement and performance throughout the day
and how the changes in moods during the interactions with the customers affect the rest of the

Case Study of Toshiba Accounting Scandal
Facts
Toshiba s history dates back to 1875 in Japan. For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015,
Toshiba s net worldwide sales were greater than $63 billion and employed more than 200,000 people
worldwide (Carpenter, 2015). In April of 2015, the company came forth and made an announcement
that it was having accounting problems. However, the severity of the scandal became known early in
September 2015 (Addady, 2015). The shares took a dive after the April announcement. In July 2015,
CEO Hisao Tanaka resigned after facing this accounting scandal and was a direct link to $1.2 billion
in overstated profits (Carpenter, 2015). Toshiba s first remedy was a management change. The
company overstated its earnings close to $2 billion over the past seven years (Addady, 2015).
The investigation panel report revealed that the external auditors failed to discover the inappropriate
accounting issues, the involvement of two former CEOs, Atsutoshi Nishida (2005
2009) and Norio Sasaki

The Economic Recovery Of Iceland
The Economic Recovery of Iceland
As a result of the financial crisis of 2007/8 Iceland experienced greater economic destruction than
most countries, and it was forced to deal with the problem by allowing their economy to collapse and
changing it s approach to the economy.
As a result of financial crisis of 2007/8 Iceland experienced greater economic destruction, and chose
to deal with the problem by allowing their economy to collapse.
Iceland s democratic government is similar to that of US in a number of key areas. But first we must
understand that many countries define democracy differently. If we mean Which country has ensured
that all adult citizens regardless of sex, race, or ethnicity, may choose representatives to exercise the
powers of government longest? , then the answer is New Zealand. Universal adult suffrage was first
established there in 1893. However, Iceland might have a claim at the title because the Althing which
is their parliament was formed by the Vikings in 930 A.D. and is the oldest still in consecutive use
today.8
The first key difference between to consider between the US and Iceland is the size of the government
due mostly to the size of the population. The US population has about three hundred twenty one
million and Iceland has only about three hundred and thirty thousand.
Because of this huge difference in population size there is a big difference in the size of government
and they type of government. The United States has a federal

Technology Is Making Its Way Into The Everyday Lives Of...
For many generations the idea of a device that could recognize you simply by your eyes has been the
stuff of science fiction. It was an invention that seemed intangible. However, over recent years this
imaginative and seemingly futuristic technology has become a thing of the present. Each iris has a
unique pattern, like fingerprints, however iris scans have proven to be more accurate and distinct.
Slowly but surely, this novel technology is making its way into the everyday lives of Americans. For
example, colleges, such as George Mason University have begun to use iris scans as a form of
identification in cafeterias; even airports have started to introduce this innovation (MacRumors, 2014).
Not only this, but the invention has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows just how efficient the new scans really are and how quickly it works. The device works
using algorithms and iris codes, collected in phasors (FBI, nd). Once a picture is taken of an individual
s iris these algorithms can be used to encode the pattern into a database which can be used again to
match their identity in the future (MacRumors, 2014). Each iris can be described by 256 bytes (FBI,
nd). This device can impact many areas, just as the standard iris scan was able to do. However, despite
the many areas this new technology is beginning to effect, the criminal justice field is one of the
regions most primarily impacted. Security within the justice field is a major area the IOM handheld
iris scan impacts. In past years, there have been issues reported regarding escaped prisoners; with iris
scans such as these this occurrence becomes extremely unlikely. An example of this is Raymond
Taylor. Taylor was a convicted murderer who escaped in using the cover of his cellmate s identity to
pass through security unnoticed (Welte, 2010). Not only is this a breach of safety, but it is also a wide
wake up call to the level of precaution that is necessary to take in a community in order to ensure the
continued wellbeing and the maintenance of peace in a population. Police officers strive to maintain
this and the justice system as a

I sit with my hands in face and elbows on my knees. This bed. Doesn t feel like a bed. These tears.

Why did I do it? Why did I kiss him back? All I can answer to him is I don t know because the truth

Why. Lola. Why. The blonde hair boy with the bloodshot eyes asks ever so quietly but loud enough for

I sit with my head down pretending like I didn t hear him.

As a result, Malaysian will have more exposure to its product. The demand for its luxury timepiece
will increase as it is very appealing to the higher income group in Malaysia. There is a higher chances
of them buying it because it is the first solar functioned and GPS watch. The increase of demand in
Seiko s timepiece will diminish the sales of existing watch retailers. On the other hand, the increased
demand for Seiko watches may not be a threat to the local watch industry owing to the fact that Astron
watches cost an arm and a leg. Astron watches are priced between USD 1,825 to USD 3,300, which
will be RM 7300 to RM 13,250 after converting into Malaysia Ringgit. With such high prices, not
many can afford to purchase a Astron watch. As a results, Malaysian may prefer cheaper watch brand
such as Casio, Swatch or other average priced watches. Thus, watch industry should be aware of the
changes in their surrounding because it signifies an alternative in either making a profit or losing it.

Hydraulic Fracking Effects
Hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking, has become a large part of the economy in northeastern
Pennsylvania, and has impacted the area s economy, environment, and mindset. Fracking is the
process of extracting natural gas from the earth, and the industry it has brought to areas like
northeastern Pennsylvania shows effects consistent with the ideas of neoliberalism and hegemony. In
order to discuss the effects of fracking, it is helpful to first understand what fracking is. Hydraulic
fracturing is a process by which natural gas is extracted from deep within the ground by drilling
horizontally to reach the deposit, then forcing through a high pressure mixture of millions of gallons
of water plus sand and (often unidentified) chemicals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This raises the question of whether media influence can change ideologies and sway communities
opinions on fracking. A study was conducted on how different types of media on both sides of the
fracking debate influenced readers perceptions and beliefs about the gas industry. This experiment
examined narrative versus informational types of news, meaning whether the information is presented
as more of a story or as a more factual compilation. It also examined how participants perceptions
were impacted when comparing environmental and economic frames. Framing refers to the the
process by which the mass media define and construct issues by emphasizing certain dimensions to
the exclusion of others (Shen, Ahern Baker, 2014, p. 99). The study evaluated how people s attitudes
about fracking changed after reading either narrative or informational news articles on the topic, and
framed with either an economic or environmental perspective (Shen et al., 2014, p. 101). The study
found a significant relationship between the type of news presented and a change in the participants
attitudes (Shen et al., 2014, p.

Jmima Emerson s Character Qualities
When you think of young women in the late 1700s what comes to mind? For me it is a taskful life
filled with chores and taking care of siblings and being sold off and married when the time comes, not
for this brave adolescent.Time Enough For Drums written by Ann Rinaldi includes a main character
Jemima Emerson. She is a 15 year old girl who lives in Trenton, New Jersey and is not ready for what
is coming in the future. Through the book Jemima encounters much chaos that gives her no choice but
to grow up and take charge. You would never think a teenager would have as much sense of humor,
responsibility and be as vindictive as Jemima Emerson.
Jemima Emerson has many different character traits that all describe her and her unique personality. To
begin with, Jem is very brave. She has to deal with so much throughout the book that she does not let
get to her. She deals with everything in a mature and sophisticated manner. For example, she had to go
through father dying, mothers grieving period and Raymond. When Jems father died it was a massive
loss for her whole family, including her but she had to be the first to live with the pain because her
mother didn t forgot about everyone and everything and moved into the Moore s because she could
not deal with the heartache, Jem had to get her out of this phase and let mother know father s death
was not her fault . Next, Jem had to deal with the loss of a close friend. Raymond Moore had gotten
sick and died around the same time John

Frame Relay and Leased Lines Essay
Frame Relay and Leased Lines
In networking there are many options in having data transferred from one location to another. Two of
which include frame relay and leased lines. Frame relay is a communication method that transfers data
by dividing information into packets and sending them over a virtual network. Frame relay is a
difficult process to understand and to accomplish. Leased lines, however, is the permanent connection
between two stations. Leased lines are simpler to understand and do not take a lot of effort to achieve.
According to Computer Networks, frame relay came into existence to overcome the complex
protocols caused by slow telephone lines, and expensive computers. Today, telephone lines are fast
and inexpensive, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Switched virtual circuits also can provide bandwidth on demand meaning that when the line is at its
peak carrying information more bandwidth can be made available. Also switched virtual circuits allow
charges for connection to be made only for what the customer uses, unlike leased lines where you
have to pay a flat rate (828 829).
In the May 1999 issue of Computerworld , a trading company decided to change its networking
architecture. DCH (Da Chong Hong), in the past, used a multiple leased line architecture consisting of
over 50 separate lines (See Figure 1). Figure 1 proves the fact that when transferring data between
multiple sites, frame relay decreases the amount of lines that need to be leased. DCH knew it had to
change its architecture to keep up with data rate technological advances. DCH decided to switch to a
networking architecture that consisted of ATM and frame relay. This venture saved DCH over
$129,000 per year. ATM is another form of a packet switching data communication method.
One problem with transferring information over a frame relay network is the fact at times the network
can become congested. The LAN Times Encyclopedia of Networking reports the fact that when a
frame relay network becomes congested, frames are arbitrarily discarded . The end nodes are
responsible for retransmitting the message frames or either they can be discarded permanently if the
customer wants them to (387). Frame relay also

Research Paper On Latin Dance Fiesta
Latin Dance Fiesta
On Saturday, April 22, 2017, I attended a Latin Dance Fiesta event at the Queens Theatre, the event
featured Sisa Pakari Danza Ecuador, Ballet Folclórico del Salvador, Ballet Folklórico Paraguayo and
Bombazo Dance Company. The show started with Sisa Pakari Danza Ecuador with an Andean song
dedicated to Pacha Mama/Mother Earth, this song is to thank the earth for a good harvest. The dancers
were wearing traditional garments, the women artists had embroidered white blouses (camisas),
shawls (rebozos), black wrap skirts (anakus), gold colored bead necklaces (walkas) and red bead
bracelets (maki watana), with their hair wrapped up in strips of woven cloth (cintas). Male artists were
wearing sport dapper blue ponchos (ruwanas) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This song is well known in el Salvador since it is usually presented at cultural activities. The dancers
wore typical costumes, with the women dressed in white with colorful embroidered shirts and skirts,
and men wore traditional pants and embroidered shirts.
The third dance company to follow onto the stage was Ballet Folklórico Paraguayo. The group,
performed by four female dancers, moved at the rhythms of the Paraguayan polka which combines
ternary and binary rhythms, whereas the European form only uses binary. The announcer informed
that, the most famous style of music in Paraguay is Guarania, created by the Paraguayan musician
José Asunción Flores in 1926. The Guarania accomplishes this by using a combination of slow
rhythms and melodies of melancholia character. The dancers were wearing traditional full pleated
skirts decorated with lace, their blouses were worn off the shoulder and the sleeves were made of lace.
The body of their blouses were embroidered in red, white and blue which are the colors of the
Paraguayan flag, I also noticed that their hair was worn up and their jewelry was of silver and coral
color. In my opinion, this was one of the most impressive group of dancers of the event, because the
performers presented the dance of

The American Public Education System
There are many problems in the American public education system today. Some of those include the
quality of teachers, who have no real passion for the job, and are only allowed to remain in the
position because of tenure privileges. Another issue is the state budgets that are allowed for public
schools, with some states investing billions of dollars, and others prioritizing it lower on the list. In hot
debate today is standardized testing, and the negative effect that it has on high school education, with
the limits it places on teachers and what they have time to teach in the classrooms. One of the biggest
problems in the American public education system is the lack of a common standard for what students
should be learning, and when they should learn it. In other words, the inequality of curriculums across
the nation is affecting the preparedness of students when they venture out beyond the public school
system, for the worst. The way to fix this problem, according to many teachers, administrators, and
politicians, is by implementing a common curriculum across the nation that will ensure that the quality
of a student s education is not determined by where they happen to live. The Common Core State
Standard curriculum is the solution to the unequal education problem in public schools. The purpose
of the CCSS is to set goals for each grade level, so that each student, parent, and teacher knows what
the student is expected to leave the grade knowing, and what they

  • 2. Investigation Of Funds Earmarked For Public Projects My letter is in response to your recent article bemoaning the fees charged by an accounting firm in conjunction with an investigation of funds earmarked for public projects in our community. Based on the information presented in the article, it appeared that the author did not properly appreciate the difference between normal accounting and forensic accounting. Additionally, the author did not appreciate the value provided by forensic accountants. The following addresses both of these information gaps. Forensic accounting began as just a necessary solution to the age old problem: what arrows does someone have in their quiver to avoid, detect, and address fraud? Since then, forensic accounting has spun off from its brother, professional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The court allowed an expert witness who had examined the bankrupt estate s books to testify. This marked the first time that a forensic accountant had an established place in the modern economy. Later on, forensic accounting was used to detect tax evasion amongst businesses that attempted to hide earnings in bank accounts in multiple states and was originally a part of the United States Department of Justice. Over time, this government agency eventually became known as the FBI. With time the scope of the forensic accountants practice expanded, allowing them to help detect and prohibit the selling and trading of women and drug trafficking. Forensic accountants have been, and will continue to be, an important component of the society s moral fabric. The link between forensic accounting and professional auditing begins and ends with the Fundamental Principles and the Specific Guidance Statements of Auditing for the forensic accountant. Professionals in both forensic accounting and independent external auditing must maintain integrity, objectivity, professional competence and due care, confidentiality, and professional behavior. These are the fundamental principles. Both types of accountants must have these principles, although there may be differences between the forensic accountant and the external auditor within how each of these five areas are applied in practice. For instance, both disciplines require integrity. For the external auditor, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Lego Group Project definition: LEGO is one of the largest companies in Denmark and a company with a very strong brand. But even so, their economy fell apart in 2003 2004 and we are interested in what they did wrong and what they did to turn their significant loss around to a profit in 2005. So our problem is: What caused LEGO s financial problems in and what did they do to turn it around? This is very relevant, because it shows how even one of the biggest brands in a market can t afford to relax in any aspect of the value chain. Even though LEGO is a big brand, their profitability is not to be taken for granted. To answer the problem we used a history of LEGO, made a Value Chain, a SW model and organization structure. There has been some significant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Knudstorp then realized that the problem did not lie with the product, but with the company s attempts in the 1990 s to become a lifestyle brand with its own line of clothes and watches and they built more theme parks as well. By doing this, they started neglecting their core business: the LEGO brick. Value Chain of LEGO: In March 2004, Knudstorp launched his dramatic turnaround plan: a mix of cost cutting, philosophical renewal and back to basics simplicity. This Action Plan was emphasizing three main themes: Set clear direction for the LEGO Group and fundamentally change the way they do business. Restore competitiveness by focusing on costumers, in particular their profitability. Reducing the level of risk by right sizing their activities, cost base and assets to a lower revenue base. Inbound logistics Lego has reduced significantly its number of plastic resin suppliers, and has signed longer term contracts which reduced and stabilized pricing, lowering costs and enabling better planning. Operations LEGO has rationalized production lines, reducing the number of products that could be made on each machine, adding simplicity and reducing changeover costs. It established more fixed production cycles, and better tied manufacturing to the rest of the supply chain. For example, it was no longer acceptable to make manual changes in a molding machine without ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Research Study On Breastfeeding Case study: breastfeeding Breast feeding rates in developed countries such as the UK, Australia and the US are typically lower than World Health Organisation goals Parkinson (2010) 3. From a study carried out by Queensland university stressed the importance of not only the delivery of literature on how effective breastfeeding is for your babies health but that what was also needed to increase the number of breast feeders was to give personal support and explains social and environmental benefits also. When they looked at the UK in particular, Parkinson (2010) 3 stated women already understood that breastfeeding was good for their baby, and what they needed were the tools to help them to breastfeed longer. From this it is clear that although effective and sufficient information around the benefits of the child is being addressed, there is no sufficient information or skills being given direct to the parents in order for them to carry this out for any length of time. Another piece of research was carried out in 2010 on ways to change the paradigm of breastfeeding, from encouraging promotion of breast feeding within the employment setting. Dr Lawrence (2010) 1 said instead of promoting the tremendous benefits of breastfeeding to this population, the risks of formula feeding and the costs to health and the community of not breastfeeding will have to incorporated into persuading these women to do the best for their infants and themselves . • 6. Blistering Research Paper Introduction Experts believe that terrorist use of chemical agents is an event with low probability, but potentially high consequences. While terrorist groups may or may not have an increased interest in chemical agent acquisition and use, the domestic vulnerability of the United States to chemical attack remains an issue. Both the United States and Russia have signed and ratified the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), and are reducing, and eventually eliminating, their chemical weapon stockpiles.1 The possibility that terrorist groups might obtain insecure chemical weapons led to increased scrutiny of declared Libyan chemical weapon stockpiles following the fall of the Qadhafi regime. Some agents can penetrate through normal clothing material, causing burns even in cloth covered areas. While blister agents react quickly upon skin contact, their symptoms may be delayed. In the case of mustard agent, damage occurs within one to two minutes of exposure, but symptoms do not manifest for several hours.18 As even low concentrations of vaporized blister agents quickly cause damage, it is unlikely that exposed individuals can remove these agents from the skin prior to injury. The initial symptoms of blister agent exposure are a reddening of the skin, resembling sunburn, combined with pain in the affected area. Swollen skin, blisters, and lesions may then develop, depending on the degree of exposure. Systemic symptoms, such as malaise, vomiting, and fever, may also develop in extreme cases. Exposure to large amounts of liquid mustard agent may prove fatal.19 The eyes are also very sensitive to blister agents. Following exposure to high concentration vapor, great pain, corneal damage, and scarring may occur. Liquid agent often causes the most severe eye damage. Marie Clements play The Unnatural and Accidental Women puts a fictional account to the realistic murders of the aboriginal women in Vancouver. During the original murders the large misunderstanding and misinterpretation around aboriginal culture caused the murders of the women to be ignored, the women themselves to be viewed as invisible, or the murders to be deemed not important or accidental . In her play Clements recreates the original murders of the boozing barber , Gilbert Paul Jordan, however in the play she creates an identity for the murdered women that was not shown by the media, police or culture in Vancouver at the time of the original murders. One of the most important aspects that Sharon Sullivan highlights in her article about the play is how its surrealism allows for the focus to be on the women, and not the killings. Clements decentres the act of murder by focusing on the experiences and actions of the women before and after death, emphasizing their individuality and the possibility of redemption. (Sullivan, 68) The film, however, nullifies any attempt by the play to humanize these women, for it cuts out the witty dialogues between the women, portraying them only as they are represented in the media, as alcoholics, prostitutes, and victims. The movie places the murder and Rebecca, Aunt Shadie s Daughter, at the center of the plot line and completely erases the side stories of the murdered aboriginal women. While the screenplay is also written by Marie Clements, it dehumanizes the women by stripping them of their identity and turning their stories back into a classic Hollywood horror ... He served as the second President of the United States, the first Vice President, and as a Founding Father was a leader of American independence from Great Britain. Adams was a political theorist in the Age of Enlightenment who promoted republicanism and a strong central government. His innovative ideas were frequently published. He was also a dedicated diarist and correspondent, particularly with his wife and key advisor Abigail. As a delegate from Massachusetts to the Continental Congress, Adams played a leading role in persuading Congress to declare independence. He assisted Thomas Jefferson in drafting the Declaration of Independence in 1776, and was its foremost advocate in the Congress. Introduction Urbanization is likely to be one of the defining phenomena of the 21st Century for Latin America as well as the rest of the developing world. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This migration flow contributed to rapid urban growth, population concentration, and territorial expansion of these large cities. This process took place in relatively large cities with a significant consumer market together with a relatively good infrastructure and equipment. Urbanization in Latin America increased in fifty years (1925 1975) from 25% to 61.2%. The pace of urbanization, however, declined between 1975 and 2000 and currently the proportion of people living in urban areas reached 75.3%. While for Latin America during the period 1925 1950 the urban growth rate almost doubled the total growth rate and the urbanization rate was 2.0%, more recently, between 1975 2000 the urban growth rate was just almost 50% higher than the total growth rate and the urbanization rate fell to 0.8%. To characterize the urbanization process within Latin America is not an easy task, since there is a great deal of heterogeneity among countries in terms of their population, territory and sociodemographic characteristics. In the year 2000 there are countries with population around 100 million inhabitants (Brazil and México) and other with less than five millions (Uruguay,Jamaica and Panamá).

The Romantic period, a time that writers such as Wordsworth and Shelley focused their writing in the centre of life and social importance. An important aspect of Romanticism: its emphasis upon the power and terrors of the inner imaginative life (Watson, 2012, p. 1). The Prelude celebrates Wordsworth s life retained through memories and with the act of remembering, depicting emotions and experiences. Whereas, Shelley and the Ode to the West Wind engaged his audience with inner and outer lives situations, ideas and elements of nature that represent his own position and ideas. This essay will compare and contrast Wordsworth recollections and Shelley dramatizations of the powers and terrors of the inner imaginative life . Each iris has a unique pattern, like fingerprints, however iris scans have proven to be more accurate and distinct. Slowly but surely, this novel technology is making its way into the everyday lives of Americans. Each iris can be described by 256 bytes (FBI, nd). This device can impact many areas, just as the standard iris scan was able to do. However, despite the many areas this new technology is beginning to effect, the criminal justice field is one of the regions most primarily impacted. Security within the justice field is a major area the IOM handheld iris scan impacts. In past years, there have been issues reported regarding escaped prisoners; with iris scans such as these this occurrence becomes extremely unlikely. An example of this is Raymond Taylor. In the May 1999 issue of Computerworld , a trading company decided to change its networking architecture. DCH (Da Chong Hong), in the past, used a multiple leased line architecture consisting of over 50 separate lines (See Figure 1). Figure 1 proves the fact that when transferring data between multiple sites, frame relay decreases the amount of lines that need to be leased. • 34. The American Public Education System There are many problems in the American public education system today. Some of those include the quality of teachers, who have no real passion for the job, and are only allowed to remain in the position because of tenure privileges. Another issue is the state budgets that are allowed for public schools, with some states investing billions of dollars, and others prioritizing it lower on the list. In hot debate today is standardized testing, and the negative effect that it has on high school education, with the limits it places on teachers and what they have time to teach in the classrooms. One of the biggest problems in the American public education system is the lack of a common standard for what students should be learning, and when they should learn it. In other words, the inequality of curriculums across the nation is affecting the preparedness of students when they venture out beyond the public school system, for the worst. The way to fix this problem, according to many teachers, administrators, and politicians, is by implementing a common curriculum across the nation that will ensure that the quality of a student s education is not determined by where they happen to live. The Common Core State Standard curriculum is the solution to the unequal education problem in public schools.
