Is Multitasking A Learning By Disrupting The Encoding Of...
In this experiment, Sana, Weston, and Cepeda grounded their research questions in previously
conducted research on the topics of divided attention and dual task interference. It had been
demonstrated in these earlier studies that multitasking obstructs learning by disrupting the encoding
of new material. It was theorized that these errors in information processing inevitably occur
because our cognitive resources are finite and easily overtaxed by multiple, simultaneous tasks.
Besides resulting in poorer encoding of information into one s long term memory, it was also noted
that comprehension and course performance significantly decline among multitaskers. What more,
there was evidence that the attention of other, non multitasking students may be accosted by the
mere proximity of a multitasking individual. Bearing all of this in mind, the researchers of the
current study formulated two hypotheses. The first hypothesis was that multitasking computer
users would score lower on measures of comprehension than non multitasking, computer users. The
second hypothesis was that participants who were within view of multitaskers would score lower
on measures of comprehension than their peers who did not have computer multitaskers within
their line of sight. The conceptual independent variable for study one was multitasking while the
dependent variable was comprehension. Likewise, the conceptual independent variable for study
two was the visibility of multitasking while the dependent

Roman Cavalry Service Requirements
During the Republic, there were many factors that made cavalry service preferable to other
occupations to members of the equestrian class. One of the most important benefits of cavalry
service was that it fulfilled the military requirement for political service more quickly: ...a
cavalry soldier must serve for ten years in all and an infantry soldier for sixteen years (Polybius,
VI.6). Cavalry service requirements, if begun at age 17 (McCall, 169), could be completed by
age 27, while an infantryman would owe service to the state until age 33. There were more
immediate benefits, as well. Cavalrymen earned three times the infantry wage, could bring two
servants, and could socialize with other men of their rank from other areas (McCall, 228 236).
They also had access... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the basic requirements of cavalry service man, horse, weapon have remained the same
throughout the ages, details have varied widely throughout. During the period of Roman kings,
the Romans selected the cavalrymen for their skill, and the cavalrymen took care of their own
equipment needs, which were rather limited: Clad only in loincloths, they clearly wore no body
armor (McCall, 669). As the army became more established, legions were composed mostly of
infantry, but all required cavalry assistance for reconnaissance, battlefield help, and to attack the
enemy cavalry. Each of the Consuls was in command of four legions of Roman citizens, each
consisting of five thousand two hundred foot and three hundred horse (Polybius, 2.24.2). These
legion integrated cavalry units required more advanced armor and weapons to meet the demands of
more advanced enemies. To meet these demands, the Roman army went under a series of reforms
called the Polybian Reforms, in the third century B.C. Polybius details the inadequacies of
equipment before the reforms: in old times they had no cuirasses but

Biography Of Nicolaus Copernicus s Discovery Of...
Ages Through Science
In Latin America and Europe, people started to question the Catholic Church and began doubting if
the Church was abusing their power. After the Scientific Revolution, philosophical thinkers and
scientists discovered new theories, such as gravitational physics laws and other opinions written in
books. Nicolaus Copernicus s discovery of heliocentrism transformed astronomy, his writings
changed the people s perspective of the universe further challenging the Catholic Church s beliefs.
Before Copernicus, people made scientific discoveries such as Aristarchus of Samos (310 230
BCE), had already identified the sun as the central unit of the solar system, but his ideas were
quickly dismissed due to the overpower of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of his theory was correct, but one thing was incorrect, that being the path of orbit is
circular. People, during this time, were starting to break out of their shells and learning about
new things and ideas, but the Catholic Church, being the basis of life, disapproved. This shows
that people wanted to discover and educate themselves, but they couldn t with the church having
power over them. Since Aristarchus s theory was unprovable during that time since there were
no telescopes or satellites, the church quickly dismissed it. In the webpage, Nicolaus
Copernicus, it is stated that Aristarchus used the concept of parallax to show that the stars were a
very large distance from Earth and to do that he must have expanded the size of the universe
enormously. These ideas contradicted what the Bible said, so he was considered a sinner and
people didn t want to agree and fall into the bandwagon. Due to people s fear of the Church, many
people went against their will and didn t get a chance to discover. During Aristarchus s time,
people suppressed new ideas and became subjects of the church. On the other hand, Aristarchus
tried his best to be strong in his ideas, but he didn t survive. Another astronomer and mathematician
before Copernicus was Ptolemy (90 168 AD) who also formed incorrect theories and promoted the
Church s power over the people. In Nicolaus Copernicus Biography, Biography.com editiors wrote

Comparative Analysis Of A Few Good Men
A Comparative analysis of Red Reiner s A Few Good Men
It is interesting to see human behavior when put into a difficult situation that may force them to
harm others when they do not want to, but will anyways. It is human nature to always do what is
best for themselves and their safety, but people tend to harm others when they can shift the blame
off themselves for causing them harm. As for example the milgram experiment is a great example
showing people will cause harm under given command. This not true for everyone, but for most
people it is. People will harm others, but kept telling the instructor that they want to stop. The
instructor told them they must keep on going, the first response would be i do not want to
blamed for hurting the person, soon as instructor took the responsibility then the they would
continue to cause pain. A movie that takes a closer look into this situation is A Few Good Men
directed by Red Reiner. Some of the main actors were Tom Cruise who played Lt. Daniel Kaffee
and is a lawyer that is defending the marines in a murder case, Jack Nicholson who played Col.
Nathan R. Jessup is the leader of marines stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Demi Moore who played
LT. Cdr. Joanne Galloway is part of the team with Kaffee to defend marnie in the murder case ,
James Marshall who played Pfc. Louden Downey is the marine who is trialed for murder and
disorderly conduct, and Kevin Bacon who played Lt. Sam Weinberg is the Prosecutor . To quick

Social Mobility In America
Social mobility is the foundation of the American Dream. Immigrants come to the United States
with hopes that the social policies and economic opportunities in this country will provide them
with a better future than they would receive back home. The main factors immigrants believe will
allow them to elevate themselves within this country are hard work and education. However
contrary to their belief, only a proper education, achieved in part through the knowledge of
resources, will allow them to elevate themselves socially and achieve things that their forefathers
could not. Inclusively there are very clear inequalities with the opportunities, the access to these
opportunities, and the foreseeable potential this country offers immigrants. For example there is a
clear uneven... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though we often boast about our country being the best; there are clear discrepancies that
demonstrate how we as a society have forgotten about the needs of the lower classes. All of these
social and political factors influence and affect the potential for success of children in different
rungs of the socioeconomic ladder. Furthermore the American Dream is the built upon the belief
that hard work will lead to prosperity in this country. However it more or less acts as a veil cloaking
the reality that not only are resources stacked against low income communities but access to the
resources and specifically those in the educational system are unequally distributed, thus
perpetuating the social stratification of the working class and specifically immigrants. In particular,

Cultural intensity is the degree to which members of a unit accept the norms, values, or other
culture con tent associated with the unit. This shows the culture s depth. Organizations with strong
norms promoting a particular value, have intensive cultures, whereas new firms (or those in
transition) have weaker, less intensive cultures. Cultural integration is the extent to which units
throughout an organization share a common culture. This is the culture s breadth. Organizations
with a pervasive dominant culture may be hierarchically controlled and power oriented, such as a
military unit, and have highly inte grated cultures. All employees tend to hold the same cultural
values and norms. What are the pros and cons of management s using the experience curve to
determine strategy? The experience curve suggests that unit production costs decline by some
fixed percentage (commonly 20% 30%) each time the total accumulated volume of production in
units doubles. The actual percentage varies by industry and is based on many variables: the
amount of time it takes a person to learn a new task, scale economies, product and process
improvements, and lower raw materials cost, among others CON: The experience curve of the

Liver Cell Inflammation
4.Liver cell damage and inflammation:
Inflammation is a kind of protective immune response of body towards the hazardous stimulants
like pathogens, irritants or even dead cells. The components of this protective immune response
include blood vessels, mast cells , tumor necrosis factor (TNF О±), tryptase, chemokines, reactive
oxygen species (ROS), histamine, bradykinin, prostaglandin and leukotrines, interleukin 1. The
inflammatory process is associated with stoppage of harmful stimuli, clearance of damaged tissues
and repairing of injury. Inflammation is strictly regulated by the body. The extent of this response
determines its positive or negative effect on body. Extremely low level of inflammation can t stop
tissue damage where as chronic inflammation frequently becomes the cause of disease itself.
Inflammation is of two types acute and chronic inflammation. Acute inflammation is ... Show more

The duration of this type of inflammation is very short and is usually beneficial for the host. The
second type of inflammation i.e. chronic inflammation is long lasting and may predispose various
chronic illnesses to the host cell, including cancer (110). During inflammation, mast cells and
leukocytes lead to a respiratory burst when these are recruited to the site of damage because of
increased uptake of oxygen. This results in an increased release and accumulation of ROS at the
site of damaged area (108 109). The soluble mediators produced by inflammatory cells, such as
metabolites of arachidonic acid, cytokines and chemokines, further recruit inflammatory cells to the
injury site to produce more

Everest Incident Of 1996
May, 1996. Everest. People died, others were abandoned, and those who lived had to suffer with
haunting memories of the mountain. It was nothing short of a catastrophe. It was caused by a
multitude of things, but mostly incompetence, inadequate preparation, unenforced guidelines, and
unfavorable circumstances. Everything becomes a deciding factor when death is involved, and
especially during this perilous expedition.
There are many things that could have been put into play to prevent this disaster. A very important
one is better preparation for climbing. Simple things, like fixing ropes or getting more radios could
have helped immensely, and prevented many deaths. For example, we are shown one possible
effect of something basic being ignored ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The weather, specifically, was awful and intense, so much so that you couldn t differentiate
anyone who didn t introduce themselves. It took a toll on everyone, being such an extreme
blizzard at such an unexpected time. Along with this, everyone was so drained and impaired, and
weren t able to help. This caused a few people to die, as they were unrightfully abandoned; one
example being Beck Weathers. He was left to perish on the mountain about three times, though he
did survive. He suffered a lot, and still does, and due to his unfortunate time on Everest has lost his
hand and a few fingers. The summaries do not lie, when they mention Into Thin Air as being a
story of bad luck . Bad luck was, in my opinion, the greatest catalyst for this tragic journey.
Into Thin Air was very interesting and intriguing for me, most of the way through. I watched a
scene play out, a disastrous scene, and was astounded by the fact that all of it was real. I saw
how all of these perils and dangers played a role in creating this catastrophe, and I realized how
difficult it actually is to get to the top of Everest and survive the descent. It isn t just a simple
climb, nor a trek made easy with technology; an expedition is a life deciding experience, and as it
occurred in this situation small, fixable mistakes, and bad luck, can turn a life long dream into a

Examples Of Fear In The Crucible
Sometimes people are very afraid of telling the truth, their fear makes them live in discouragement.
Sometimes, their fear also affects others around them because they lack self confidence .When this
happens, important relationships suffer. The play The Crucible by Arthur Miller has a dramatic
storyline the characters struggle with the Puritan authority and the town people having to make a
decision on who is telling the truthand who is hiring. The girls make false accusations because of
their fear of the Puritan authorities because they torched Tituba and they can do that to them, also
by doing this it may make their lives miserable.
The girls are scared of being torched because they know that the authority can hurt anyone and
they can do what they want and no one will stop them. An example that shows this from the text
is Putnam: This woman must be hanged! She must he taken and hanged! Tituba, terrified, falls
to her knees: No, no don t hang Tituba! I tell him I don t desire to work for him, sir
(Crucible.1.1119). This is showing how the girls are afraid of them because they have already
beat Tituba and she didn t do anything. To add to that it shows the girls if they act a certain way
and the authority does not like it the they can punish them by beating them or even worse by
hanging them. Another quote that shows this is Parris: then see no spirits now, and prove to us
that you can faint by your own will, as you claim. Mary Warner: stares, searching for the

Presentation Of Grand Prix Show Jumping
Grand Prix show jumping is a physically and emotionally challenging sport for both the horse
and rider. The purpose of this paper is to inform the reader about Grand Prix Show Jumping. The
following information will answer questions regarding six topics. This research paper will
provide a brief history of Show Jumping, and explain why it started. Second, it will describe what
Show Jumping requires and what Show Jumping is. Third, it will tell where Show Jumping
occurs. Fourth, it will state how Show Jumping has changed. Fifth, it will share who the athletes
are today and who the top horses and riders are at the Grand Prix level. Sixth, it will inform the
reader of when Grand Prix events take place. The Grand Prix is the highest and most difficult level
of Show Jumping. This sport requires that the horses be in excellent physical condition. Jumping at
high levels puts a lot of strain on their joints and tendons, so it is important not to overwork them.
With so much strain on their bodies, one false step could result in injury. Show Jumping originated
in Europe. During the Middle Ages, the Greeks included jumping horses in their military exercise.
A three day event occurred that reflected the range of challenges horses faced in the army. In
England, Show Jumping was derived from fox hunting. Throughout the eighteenth century, Great
Britain passed Enclosure Acts, meaning that wealthy owners of land could build stone walls along
their property lines. Fox hunters adapted and

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Beowulf
The strengths of heroes in epic poems has been written on a countless amount of times. Why?
Because the heroes strengths are plainly displayed in the literature and the weaknesses are not.
However, the weaknesses can be found where the heroes turn to for strength. In the Epic of
Beowulf, the journey begins with the terrorization of the Mead Hall by an awful monster named
Grendel. Beowulfcomes in and saves the day by killing Grendel and he receives riches and fame
for doing so. Then, stricken with grief, Grendel s mother comes to the mead hall to avenge the
death of her son. Beowulf goes and fights Grendel s mother in her home in the swamp and
manages to kill her with a sword forged by giants. After this battle, he is more beloved than the
one before and is endlessness praised and rewarded. Then, fifty years later, Beowulf is the king
of Geat and a thief angers the dragon. Beowulf then decides to kill the dragon himself. He
manages to kill the dragon with the help of a Geat named Wiglaf, but loses his life in the process.
In the Epic of Gilgamesh, our hero has a rough beginning with actions that resemble a villain more
than a hero. Then the God s create Enkiduto tame Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh and Enkidu become best
friends after their first tumultuous meeting and go on many adventures together. After one
adventure, Gilgamesh and Enkidu return and Gilgamesh is propositioned by the goddess of love
who he refuses. Then she is angered and demands her father send the bull of heaven

Major Discoveries in Electrical Communication in the 1800’s
The nineteenth century was a very prolific era of discovery in electrical knowledge and
technologies that laid the foundation for modern electrical communication. During this period of
time the foundations of modern electrically based technologies were discovered. The nineteenth
century began with a debate between Luigi Galvani, and Alessandro Volta regarding the source of
electricityin Galvani s famous frog experiment. These debates lead to the invention of the battery
by Volta, and the invention of Volta s. Volta s discoveries would lead the way for Ohm s law
several years later. However, before that discovery was made Hans Christian Г rstead discovered

Galvani noticed that when a metal scalpel was brought close one of the nerves in the frog that the
frog s leg would move. Galvani stated that the electricity observed in the frogs was intrinsic the
nerves of the frog. Galvani used multiple different metals combinations to demonstrate the electric
phenomenon. He would further demonstrate that metals were seemingly unneeded. He did this by
manipulating the nerves and muscles of the frogs in such way that caused the same twitch, as
when a metal object was brought near. The publication of his research in 1791 would peak the
interest of Alessandro Volta. Volta was convinced that Galvani s animal electricity was not the
result of the animal tissues, but the metals within those tissues. In an effort to prove this Volta
invented the battery . Volta s battery was built out of alternating zinc and copper disks with cloth
(or a similar medium) soaked in salt water [10]. Volta stated the following regarding the nature of
electricity with respect to Galvani s animal electricity: Herein lies the whole secret, the whole
magic of Galvanism. It is simply an artificial electricity, which acts under the impulse of contacts
between different conductors [9]. At this point Volta s theory of electricity by contact was fully
accepted. Just after Volta s greatest discovery and before that of Ohm, Hans Christian Г rstead
discovered magnetism. Г rstead conducted a series of experiments that

of this disease is Coccidiosis is a highly contagious sporozoal infection in rabbits, with low

that in some cases, one and the same coccidia has been given several names. Eimeria sp. parasites

dependent on the oocysts being in favourable conditions, that is to say a warm and humid

symptoms can vary depending on whether the disease is a hepatic or an intestinal infection.
Other affected rabbits can lose their appetite and lose weight. They may also have diarrhea
which will be very soft, watery, or even jelly like. Another suggested sign is a pot bellied

Social Media Informative Essay
Can unethical journalists be held responsible for circulating misinformation
Journalistic ethics code and the freedom of the press are guidelines. Many reporters feel that they
can post whatever they want, on Social media, without doing thorough research and/or verifying
information. As a consequence, this false media , can cause confusion , fear, or cast unneeded
attention onto a certain topic. Some even have nefarious agendas to cause fear and confusion and
/or control of society(opposing governments). Is posting inaccurate and inflammatory information
on social media websites like, facebook, snapchat, and Youtube... violating the Journalistic code of
ethics? We all have the right to accurate, fair and thorough media. Should reporters that are aware
of the whole story be held liable for editing information for the purpose of deception? False
statements of fact may generally be punished if they are knowing lies, though generally not if they
are honest mistakes (even unreasonable mistakes). There are, however, some situations where
even honest mistakes can be punished, and a few were even intentional lies are protected. When
Orson Well s aired a mock u.f.o. Invasion on live radio that many believed to be truth, he
inadvertently caused a panic. Looking back at this event I have laughed; thinking of those silly
people not able to tell that it was makebelieve. Now when I read articles I can truly, understand

Personal Reflection Of Microeconomics
I have gained much respect for Economics as a field of study during this course. Being a political
science major, I can honestly say that there isn t all that much science in many of the topics.
Conversation in political science can be argumentative and normative without concrete reason or
evidence. Economics, on the other hand, is intuitive and backed by research. More refreshingly,
economics simply puts its research out for the world to see, and sure individual economists may
voice their opinions about public policy, but as a field, it is based mainly on positive statements; it
tells it like it is without venturing into how it should be. Economists do have a rough job in a way,
they can t simply do research by conducting regular experiments like altering the nation s monetary
supply or increasing the minimum wage to study the effects on unemployment. It is impressive that
they find a way to use existing data to draw their conclusions. They really make the most out of
what they are given. Additionally, it is nice that assumptions about complex economic topics are
made so even students in basic principles courses can understand the concepts in simple economic
models.
I think that what we learned on market economics is the correct way of thinking about human
interaction and the functioning of markets. Microeconomics offered an interesting, and potentially
more useful, perspective on the market because it essentially told us how our individual decisions
affect the market.

remarried when I was 3 and left me with my grandmother. I hated my stepfather, and despised my
mother for marrying him, even threatening to burn their house down. In school, I found my solace
in books, particularly in science and mechanics. In my first year of college at Cambridge
University, my mother returned and tried to make me a farmer, but farming was boring and
derivative, so my uncle brought me back to school and I studied color, light, alchemy, history, and
religion, particularly the Bible. After the plague, I was forced to return home, where I ... Show more

The Pink vs. Kim Kardashian feud is finally getting some splaining from one of the alpha

The Causes And Abuse Of The Catholic Church
Catholic religion is one of the oldest religions, highly practiced in the United States. It is a
religion with a set of beliefs such as practicing celibacy among the priests and nuns. Each and
every state in America has several parishes and a bishop that oversees the operations of the
churches in those said regions. For instance, in the State of Phoenix, there is a bishopwith several
priests in every parish handling the operations of the churches. The Catholics follow a set of
beliefs and traditions that mirror the morality in the society. However, these beliefs are being
eroded by the some of the followers in various parts of the world. In fact, the Catholic Churchhas
become a subject of serious allegations of child sexual abuseat the hands of the clergy. Several
cases have occurred globally even the most high profile cases occurring in Europe and America.
Majority of the people ha come forward and reported the incidents of clerical sexual misconducts.
They have done so under investigative reporting talking about years of abuse on the part of the
priests together with cover ups and patterns of secrecy by church officials that aided in allowing
these accused priests in continuing to their ministries in the various parishes and this involved
interaction with mirrors. Canonical, civil, and criminal sanctions have been directed to several
bishops, priests, and even dioceses. However, there are those that have managed to escape the

The hospitality industry is about people being hospitable and giving a great experience at each

Courtroom Standards Analysis
Courtroom Standards Analysis Chris CJA/484 June 17, 2013 Courtroom Standards Analysis
Courtroom Personnel There are a number of individuals who make up the courtroom personnel.
Each individual whether it be the judge, bailiff, court reporter, courtroom clerk, prosecutor, defense
counsel, jury, defendant, or witness contribute to the shaping of legal law. The judge who presides
over the trial has the ultimate authority in the courtroom. The judge must see that the trail is

All work group members influence and are influenced by the other members, and members have
different bases of power and areas of knowledge. Judges have formal authority and may direct
actions of the court and the attorneys. Prosecutors have superior case knowledge and have
discretion about what matters will go to trial. Defense attorneys are able to interview witnesses,
obtain evidence through discovery, and file pretrial motions. The four common goals of the
members are doing justice; maintaining group cohesion; disposing of the case load; and reducing
uncertainty. Their different bases of knowledge give group members various types of power and
influence. Three interaction techniques that are frequently utilized are unilateral decisions,
adversarial proceedings, and negotiations. (G. Larry Mays (n.d), para. 3) References Arizona

America Is A Leading Political And Economic Superpower
America is a leading political and economic superpower, most known for being the largest
democracy and being founded with unreplaceable views of freedom, civil liberties, and the iconic
American dream. Despite these great accomplishments, there is a growing problem in America
that if not handled will be the greatest mistake in American history. Strict regulation on campaign
contributions is necessary because they go against core principles of democracy including,
encouraging abuse of power, decreasing political participation, and promoting an increase in
political and financial inequality between the extremely rich and the rest of Americans. Big
campaign donations promote corruption. This is known and yet nothing is done about these giant
anti democracy rulings. In 2010 The Supreme court case Citizens United v. FEC ruled that
campaign funding is protected as a form of free speech which broadens an already ridiculously
unclear policy. One giant problem with this is that PACs and other individuals or organizations
can receive and donate as much money as needed if they vow to spend the money independently
from campaigns. These donors expect reimbursement. In America today, we are seeing a rapid
increase of special interests infringing on the political process and this has to stop.
Supporters of loose campaign finance regulations argue that donations are a form of protected free
speech. They believe regulation should not interfere with the general gratitude a candidate

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Using Ratio...
Every company or business using ratio analysis to measures financial performance within a period
of time to shows their profit or loss. There is no doubt that ratio analysis gives great insights about
a company. Using ratio analysis by a company also has few disadvantages.
First of the disadvantage of using ratio analysis is difference in accounting methodologies. Certain
ratios may be adversely affected by a company s accounting practices. Different company may be
using different accounting method. For instance, inventory valuation methods may differ and it can
be depreciation methods. As a result, comparing ratios of such companies may not describe a
correct picture as what should express.
The next limitation of applying ratio analysis is the effects of inflation not taken into
considerations. Financial records are made over a period of time. All of these records might not
give a correct picture because of the effects of inflation are not taken into account while recording.
For example, office equipment purchased two years ago was recorded at historical costs in the
statement of financial position. These rates might have the different value currently due to
inflation. The value of office equipment and depreciation may have different value now as it had
recorded.
Ratio analysis might also guide to a narrow focus on some elements of a ... Show more content on

used to evaluate the performance of a company compare to other competitors that run within the

Cause Of Judgement
People of the 21st century have portrayed their high level of intellectualism by making tremendous
achievements in the fields of technology and medicine, but at the same time they have showcased
their foolishness by forming opinions of other individuals. Their ability to view other people from a
moral perspective leads them to form judgements of other people. Matter of fact, judging has turned
into a habit for all of humanity and has hurt people mentally and physically. Without thinking of the
harmful effects judging can have on individuals, people form their opinions based on individuals
clothes, qualities, and even facial feature. Primarily, the phony ethics and assumptions lead people
to judge. In particular, one s bad upbringing, the insecurity and jealousy of human nature, and the
blind acceptance of information are the three main causes for passing judgement.
First, failing to preach the idea of individuality to younger generations leaves a negative impact on
their upbringing, thus leading them to judge individuals ignorantly. Teachings passed down to
children who support the ideas of arrogance and selfishness prevent them from understanding the
uniqueness of other independent minded individuals, resulting in the children judging other people.
One s selfishness and pride prevents that person from learning about the real challenges of life.
Blinded by the wicked feelings, that person will judge other people s gifts, talents, and traits. In
other words, a child taught

Impact Of Technology On Health Care Industry
Empirical Essay Main Idea The article, IT Based Capabilities, Service Innovation, and Quality in
Health Care, focuses on how there have been many developments in technology which could be
utilized to effectively deliver services within the health care industry (Thambusamy Palvia, 2011, p.
1). Through innovation, health care facilities are expected to provide top quality care to patients.
Technology has made that possible; however, prior to this study, it was unsure if the two had any
correlation. The research that was conducted involves the term service in the health care industry
(Thambusamy Palvia, 2011, p. 1). Three Important Facts One fact that the article emphases on is

5). If a medical facility believes that they are providing the best quality of service to the patients,
possible improvements will go unidentified. An example would be to reexamine the EHR
program that is being utilized periodically to determine if an upgrade or new program would be
more beneficial for the employees and patients. There are numerous EHR programs that are
being developed and/or constantly undergoing improvements. Although a program is effective
for the facility and patients, it does not signify that it is providing the best quality of care. Lastly,
health care facilities that use IT to improve their capabilities for service innovation and service
quality have the potential to enhance their organizations strategic and operational performance
(Thambusamy Palvia, 2011, p. 17). Innovation in the health care industry is pertinent for
providers to be able to ensure not only the quality of care is exceptional but also to contribute in
reducing medical errors. Allowing patients to have access to selected parts of their medical record
allows the patients to have an active role in their health. Ideas Our text and the article discussed

Illinois Court Structure
They say justice is blind. Laws are made only to protect the interest of the wealthy. Anyone can
become a judge, one does not necessarily have to attend school to do so. These are just a few
myths about our judicial system, some of which that hold some truth, and others that are
inaccurate. In this paper, I will provide history about the type of court structure in Illinois, the
process in which judges and lawyers are selected within the state, and how judges and lawyers are
disciplined. To begin, Illinois was admitted to statehood in 1818. In its original Constitution, the
following was outlined: Every person ought to find a certain remedy in the laws for all injuries and
wrongs which he may receive in his person, property, or reputation; he ought to obtain by law right

In order to become a lawyer in Illinois, as I aspire to be, one must first attend an undergraduate
institute to obtain a degree. Next, for formal legal study, one must enter law school to obtain a
secondary degree called the Juris Doctor. However, before completing this, one must take the
Law School Admission Test (LSAT) as an entry exam to law school. The LSAT is offered four
times throughout the year, and consists of three sections which are: logical reasoning, analytical
reasoning, reading comprehension, and a writing sample. Hence, this test predicates how one will
perform in law school and often influences the school in which students are accepted. However,
upon graduation, one must pass the state bar exam. Even for this examination, there are a few
requirements under Rule 704 in the Supreme Court Rules: the person must be of twenty one
years of age, be of good moral character to practice law, has satisfactorily completed exams on
academic qualifications an responsibility as prescribed by the Board of admissions, and attend a
school on the approved list of the American Bar

The Social Of A Social Institution
Connect structure to your social issue/topic:
1.) What social institutions are connected to your social issue/topic?
My topic is gender roles in society the social institutions which influence to the stigmatization of
gender are:
Family: Throughout history women and men have been stigmatized into categories based on their
biological sex. Parents from day one address their child based on their physical characteristics of
either a male or female. Family has a great influence because they teach their children at a young
age how to properly act, if the child choses to behave not accordance with their gender role they are
quickly corrected because acting out of your gender role is wrong.
Religion: this social institution can play a role in influencing gender norms because some
religions believe that there are specific duties and roles for each gender. For example in an
Islamic religion it is believed that women are to fulfill their duties as a wife and mother while the
father is to be able to protect and financially support the family. In Christianity women are seen as
unfit to be in the high roles of religion like being a priest.
Culture: In all cultures women have a set role in which they are to follow within their society.
Here in the United States women are working for better gender equality and more people are
coming out about who they are in the inside regardless of what gender norms they are breaking. For
my third country I picked Afghanistan, in this country women are

Persuasive Essay On Drinking Soda
In a recent General Conference address remembered by youth and adults alike, President Dieter F.
Uchtdorf explained the challenge of learning how to use a computer when he first became an
apostle in 1994. He jokingly describes how it took a lot of time, patience, reassurance, and many
liters of a diet soda that shall remain nameless , to which the congregation let out a hearty laugh.
President Uchtdorf s statement about drinking soda became a justification and repeatedly quotable
moment for Latter day Saints who frequently drink caffeinated sodas, despite its similar chemical
effects to coffeeand tea, drinks that are well known as against church standards. On September 21,
2017, Brigham Young Universitymade a change to their distributable goods by starting to sell
caffeinated soda drinks on campus, something Food Services had previously made the decision
not to do since the mid 1950s. This decision not only lead to cheering students who no longer felt
the need to smuggle their drinks from off campus sources, but made international news, inspiring
stories from NPR, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and BBC. However, this
decision lead to some disagreement among a few who believe caffeinated beverages are not in
line with the standards of the gospel. The newly offered caffeinated drinks on BYU campus
should not be sold because of the drinks health concerns, addictive properties, and violation of
Word of Wisdom principles. Soda and caffeinehave been proven to cause

Unreasonable Foolishness In The Gift Of Magi
Many people would consider the story, The Gift of Magi , an act of foolishness, but there is
more to the tale than unreasonable foolishness. The sacrifices the main characters, Jim and Della
Dillingham Young, made for each other were what many people would call an act of true love
and generosity. They had no money for Christmas, although they did have something of
substance to trade. Della had her long, beautiful hair and Jim had his pocket watch. They
sacrificed for each other the greatest treasures of their house (161). Jim and Della gave all they
had for each other. According to O. Henry, they could be considered Magi. The Dillingham Young
s did not stop to consider how they would be affected. They thought of each other s happiness
before their own. Instead, they sell their greatest treasures to buy the other a gift for Christmas. The
story of The Gift of the Magi shows the underlying meaning to be truly wealthy and to sacrifice
everything for it. Wealth is more than money to countless people. Loveand happiness is the key to
wealth. Jim and Della may not have money but they are indeed wealthy. Love is more important
than any possession or gift anyone can contain. O. Henry illustrated that within The Gift of the
Magi . He showed that love and happiness is the true wealth of life by using literary elements like
symbolism, the type of narrator, and irony.
In the beginning, the story tells about how Della does not have any money to purchase a gift for

However, this class was linked to year eleven, comprising of 16 and 17 year olds. This gave rise
to considerable discussion, as the group believed that the ideal time to learn values is more
appropriate during adolescence, such as years seven or eight. After a considerable reflection it
was deduced that to a degree it is true that in partying knowledge and values upon younger
students is both more effective and easier, as at this age they are more impressionable and
accepting of new ideals. However, learning is not a an end product and the intent of the lesson was
more about nurturing the ideas that the students have already subconsciously gained, whilst aiming
to foster and enhance these values, in order for them to emerge consciously enriched. The teachings
of Sankey and Kim (2013) under the umbrella of the Dynamic System Theory greatly influenced
these decisions, were they stress a non linear and highly variable process of development, and thus,
signifying an older age group does not quantify the need to disenfranchise themselves from moral
development.
The makeup of the lesson was divided into two interrelated activities that were designed towards
the developmental needs of the students as well as the importance of multicultural relations. The
activities also did not shun away from their own significant pedagogical issues, specifically

External Pressure Of Domestic Politics And Foreign Policy
Domestic Politics and Foreign Policy
Although the aspirations and goals of states are often motivated by external political pressures,
analysis of recent foreign policy decisions demonstrates how internal political forces can play
equally crucial roles in the pursuit and execution of these objectives. Thus, it would be invalid to
claim that domestic politics and the nature of regimes play minor roles in either the goals a state
pursues or the means it employs to reach them. By understanding how the diffusion of power in
governments affect policy decisions, one can develop increased awareness of the linkages that exist
between the internal pressures of domestic politics and the external forces of foreign politics.

As the commander in chief, the president plays a significant role in shaping foreign policy. The
president possesses the power to appoint senior cabinet members, commit troops and conduct high
level talks with foreign governments. Congress, on the other hand, has the power to ratify treaties,
confirm the president s appointees and approve budgetary measures. And while the president has
the ability to commit troops, only Congress has the authority to declare war. Despite criticisms of
the American policy making process describing it as inefficient and slow moving, the main purpose
and thus benefit of the constitutional separation of power is the framework of checks and balances
that safeguard against monopolization of foreign policy decision making.
But despite the provisions outlined in the Constitution outlining the separation of power between
the executive and legislative branch in the formulation of foreign policy, congressional influence
over foreign policy decisions waned after World War II. During the Vietnam War, the Johnson and
Nixon administrations became increasingly secretive and monopolized foreign policy decision
authority. Ultimately, however, the growing imbalance of influence of the executive branch in
foreign policy decisions led to the creation of the War Powers Act. The Act stipulated that the

Ecological Impact Of Fur Trade On American Culture
When the Europeans visitors started coming to North America they hoped to find vast amounts of

billion trillion tons of coal an hour? Even though only a small fraction of that heat ever reaches
the earth is still more than enough to power up our whole planet. We are very certain that we
have all heard about the terms fossil fuels, greenhouse gases, and global warming. Have you ever

  • 2. Is Multitasking A Learning By Disrupting The Encoding Of... In this experiment, Sana, Weston, and Cepeda grounded their research questions in previously conducted research on the topics of divided attention and dual task interference. It had been demonstrated in these earlier studies that multitasking obstructs learning by disrupting the encoding of new material. It was theorized that these errors in information processing inevitably occur because our cognitive resources are finite and easily overtaxed by multiple, simultaneous tasks. Besides resulting in poorer encoding of information into one s long term memory, it was also noted that comprehension and course performance significantly decline among multitaskers. What more, there was evidence that the attention of other, non multitasking students may be accosted by the mere proximity of a multitasking individual. Bearing all of this in mind, the researchers of the current study formulated two hypotheses. The first hypothesis was that multitasking computer users would score lower on measures of comprehension than non multitasking, computer users. The second hypothesis was that participants who were within view of multitaskers would score lower on measures of comprehension than their peers who did not have computer multitaskers within their line of sight. The conceptual independent variable for study one was multitasking while the dependent variable was comprehension. Likewise, the conceptual independent variable for study two was the visibility of multitasking while the dependent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Roman Cavalry Service Requirements During the Republic, there were many factors that made cavalry service preferable to other occupations to members of the equestrian class. One of the most important benefits of cavalry service was that it fulfilled the military requirement for political service more quickly: ...a cavalry soldier must serve for ten years in all and an infantry soldier for sixteen years (Polybius, VI.6). Cavalry service requirements, if begun at age 17 (McCall, 169), could be completed by age 27, while an infantryman would owe service to the state until age 33. There were more immediate benefits, as well. Cavalrymen earned three times the infantry wage, could bring two servants, and could socialize with other men of their rank from other areas (McCall, 228 236). They also had access... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the basic requirements of cavalry service man, horse, weapon have remained the same throughout the ages, details have varied widely throughout. During the period of Roman kings, the Romans selected the cavalrymen for their skill, and the cavalrymen took care of their own equipment needs, which were rather limited: Clad only in loincloths, they clearly wore no body armor (McCall, 669). As the army became more established, legions were composed mostly of infantry, but all required cavalry assistance for reconnaissance, battlefield help, and to attack the enemy cavalry. Each of the Consuls was in command of four legions of Roman citizens, each consisting of five thousand two hundred foot and three hundred horse (Polybius, 2.24.2). These legion integrated cavalry units required more advanced armor and weapons to meet the demands of more advanced enemies. To meet these demands, the Roman army went under a series of reforms called the Polybian Reforms, in the third century B.C. Polybius details the inadequacies of equipment before the reforms: in old times they had no cuirasses but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ages Through Science In Latin America and Europe, people started to question the Catholic Church and began doubting if the Church was abusing their power. After the Scientific Revolution, philosophical thinkers and scientists discovered new theories, such as gravitational physics laws and other opinions written in books. Nicolaus Copernicus s discovery of heliocentrism transformed astronomy, his writings changed the people s perspective of the universe further challenging the Catholic Church s beliefs. Before Copernicus, people made scientific discoveries such as Aristarchus of Samos (310 230 BCE), had already identified the sun as the central unit of the solar system, but his ideas were quickly dismissed due to the overpower of the ... People, during this time, were starting to break out of their shells and learning about new things and ideas, but the Catholic Church, being the basis of life, disapproved. This shows that people wanted to discover and educate themselves, but they couldn t with the church having power over them. Since Aristarchus s theory was unprovable during that time since there were no telescopes or satellites, the church quickly dismissed it. In the webpage, Nicolaus Copernicus, it is stated that Aristarchus used the concept of parallax to show that the stars were a very large distance from Earth and to do that he must have expanded the size of the universe enormously. These ideas contradicted what the Bible said, so he was considered a sinner and people didn t want to agree and fall into the bandwagon. Due to people s fear of the Church, many people went against their will and didn t get a chance to discover. During Aristarchus s time, people suppressed new ideas and became subjects of the church. On the other hand, Aristarchus tried his best to be strong in his ideas, but he didn t survive. Comparative Analysis Of A Few Good Men A Comparative analysis of Red Reiner s A Few Good Men It is interesting to see human behavior when put into a difficult situation that may force them to harm others when they do not want to, but will anyways. It is human nature to always do what is best for themselves and their safety, but people tend to harm others when they can shift the blame off themselves for causing them harm. As for example the milgram experiment is a great example showing people will cause harm under given command. This not true for everyone, but for most people it is. People will harm others, but kept telling the instructor that they want to stop. The instructor told them they must keep on going, the first response would be i do not want to blamed for hurting the person, soon as instructor took the responsibility then the they would continue to cause pain. A movie that takes a closer look into this situation is A Few Good Men directed by Red Reiner. Some of the main actors were Tom Cruise who played Lt. Daniel Kaffee and is a lawyer that is defending the marines in a murder case, Jack Nicholson who played Col. Nathan R. Jessup is the leader of marines stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Demi Moore who played LT. Cdr. Joanne Galloway is part of the team with Kaffee to defend marnie in the murder case , James Marshall who played Pfc. Immigrants come to the United States with hopes that the social policies and economic opportunities in this country will provide them with a better future than they would receive back home. The main factors immigrants believe will allow them to elevate themselves within this country are hard work and education. However contrary to their belief, only a proper education, achieved in part through the knowledge of resources, will allow them to elevate themselves socially and achieve things that their forefathers could not. Inclusively there are very clear inequalities with the opportunities, the access to these opportunities, and the foreseeable potential this country offers immigrants. Sometimes, their fear also affects others around them because they lack self confidence .When this happens, important relationships suffer. The play The Crucible by Arthur Miller has a dramatic storyline the characters struggle with the Puritan authority and the town people having to make a decision on who is telling the truthand who is hiring. The girls make false accusations because of their fear of the Puritan authorities because they torched Tituba and they can do that to them, also by doing this it may make their lives miserable. The girls are scared of being torched because they know that the authority can hurt anyone and they can do what they want and no one will stop them. An example that shows this from the text is Putnam: This woman must be hanged! She must he taken and hanged! Tituba, terrified, falls to her knees: No, no don t hang Tituba! I tell him I don t desire to work for him, sir (Crucible.1.1119). This is showing how the girls are afraid of them because they have already beat Tituba and she didn t do anything. To add to that it shows the girls if they act a certain way and the authority does not like it the they can punish them by beating them or even worse by hanging them. During this period of time the foundations of modern electrically based technologies were discovered. The nineteenth century began with a debate between Luigi Galvani, and Alessandro Volta regarding the source of electricityin Galvani s famous frog experiment. These debates lead to the invention of the battery by Volta, and the invention of Volta s. Volta s discoveries would lead the way for Ohm s law several years later. Galvani stated that the electricity observed in the frogs was intrinsic the nerves of the frog. Galvani used multiple different metals combinations to demonstrate the electric phenomenon. He would further demonstrate that metals were seemingly unneeded. He did this by manipulating the nerves and muscles of the frogs in such way that caused the same twitch, as when a metal object was brought near. The publication of his research in 1791 would peak the interest of Alessandro Volta. Volta was convinced that Galvani s animal electricity was not the result of the animal tissues, but the metals within those tissues. In an effort to prove this Volta invented the battery . Volta s battery was built out of alternating zinc and copper disks with cloth (or a similar medium) soaked in salt water [10]. Volta stated the following regarding the nature of electricity with respect to Galvani s animal electricity: Herein lies the whole secret, the whole magic of Galvanism. It is simply an artificial electricity, which acts under the impulse of contacts between different conductors [9]. At this point Volta s theory of electricity by contact was fully accepted. • 22. Personal Reflection Of Microeconomics I have gained much respect for Economics as a field of study during this course. Being a political science major, I can honestly say that there isn t all that much science in many of the topics. Conversation in political science can be argumentative and normative without concrete reason or evidence. Economics, on the other hand, is intuitive and backed by research. More refreshingly, economics simply puts its research out for the world to see, and sure individual economists may voice their opinions about public policy, but as a field, it is based mainly on positive statements; it tells it like it is without venturing into how it should be. Economists do have a rough job in a way, they can t simply do research by conducting regular experiments like altering the nation s monetary supply or increasing the minimum wage to study the effects on unemployment. It is impressive that they find a way to use existing data to draw their conclusions. They really make the most out of what they are given. Additionally, it is nice that assumptions about complex economic topics are made so even students in basic principles courses can understand the concepts in simple economic models. I think that what we learned on market economics is the correct way of thinking about human interaction and the functioning of markets. Microeconomics offered an interesting, and potentially more useful, perspective on the market because it essentially told us how our individual decisions affect the market. ... • 28. America Is A Leading Political And Economic Superpower America is a leading political and economic superpower, most known for being the largest democracy and being founded with unreplaceable views of freedom, civil liberties, and the iconic American dream. Despite these great accomplishments, there is a growing problem in America that if not handled will be the greatest mistake in American history. Strict regulation on campaign contributions is necessary because they go against core principles of democracy including, encouraging abuse of power, decreasing political participation, and promoting an increase in political and financial inequality between the extremely rich and the rest of Americans. Big campaign donations promote corruption. This is known and yet nothing is done about these giant anti democracy rulings. In 2010 The Supreme court case Citizens United v. FEC ruled that campaign funding is protected as a form of free speech which broadens an already ridiculously unclear policy. One giant problem with this is that PACs and other individuals or organizations can receive and donate as much money as needed if they vow to spend the money independently from campaigns. These donors expect reimbursement. In America today, we are seeing a rapid increase of special interests infringing on the political process and this has to stop. Supporters of loose campaign finance regulations argue that donations are a form of protected free speech. They believe regulation should not interfere with the general gratitude a candidate ... Every company or business using ratio analysis to measures financial performance within a period of time to shows their profit or loss. There is no doubt that ratio analysis gives great insights about a company. Using ratio analysis by a company also has few disadvantages. First of the disadvantage of using ratio analysis is difference in accounting methodologies. Certain ratios may be adversely affected by a company s accounting practices. Different company may be using different accounting method. For instance, inventory valuation methods may differ and it can be depreciation methods. As a result, comparing ratios of such companies may not describe a correct picture as what should express. The next limitation of applying ratio analysis is the effects of inflation not taken into considerations. Financial records are made over a period of time. All of these records might not give a correct picture because of the effects of inflation are not taken into account while recording. For example, office equipment purchased two years ago was recorded at historical costs in the statement of financial position. These rates might have the different value currently due to inflation. Cause Of Judgement People of the 21st century have portrayed their high level of intellectualism by making tremendous achievements in the fields of technology and medicine, but at the same time they have showcased their foolishness by forming opinions of other individuals. Their ability to view other people from a moral perspective leads them to form judgements of other people. Matter of fact, judging has turned into a habit for all of humanity and has hurt people mentally and physically. Without thinking of the harmful effects judging can have on individuals, people form their opinions based on individuals clothes, qualities, and even facial feature. Primarily, the phony ethics and assumptions lead people to judge. In particular, one s bad upbringing, the insecurity and jealousy of human nature, and the blind acceptance of information are the three main causes for passing judgement. First, failing to preach the idea of individuality to younger generations leaves a negative impact on their upbringing, thus leading them to judge individuals ignorantly. Teachings passed down to children who support the ideas of arrogance and selfishness prevent them from understanding the uniqueness of other independent minded individuals, resulting in the children judging other people. One s selfishness and pride prevents that person from learning about the real challenges of life. Blinded by the wicked feelings, that person will judge other people s gifts, talents, and traits. • 31. Impact Of Technology On Health Care Industry Empirical Essay Main Idea The article, IT Based Capabilities, Service Innovation, and Quality in Health Care, focuses on how there have been many developments in technology which could be utilized to effectively deliver services within the health care industry (Thambusamy Palvia, 2011, p. 1). Through innovation, health care facilities are expected to provide top quality care to patients. Technology has made that possible; however, prior to this study, it was unsure if the two had any correlation. The research that was conducted involves the term service in the health care industry (Thambusamy Palvia, 2011, p. 1). If a medical facility believes that they are providing the best quality of service to the patients, possible improvements will go unidentified. An example would be to reexamine the EHR program that is being utilized periodically to determine if an upgrade or new program would be more beneficial for the employees and patients. There are numerous EHR programs that are being developed and/or constantly undergoing improvements. Although a program is effective for the facility and patients, it does not signify that it is providing the best quality of care. Lastly, health care facilities that use IT to improve their capabilities for service innovation and service quality have the potential to enhance their organizations strategic and operational performance (Thambusamy Palvia, 2011, p. 17). Innovation in the health care industry is pertinent for providers to be able to ensure not only the quality of care is exceptional but also to contribute in reducing medical errors. Allowing patients to have access to selected parts of their medical record allows the patients to have an active role in their health. Anyone can become a judge, one does not necessarily have to attend school to do so. These are just a few myths about our judicial system, some of which that hold some truth, and others that are inaccurate. In this paper, I will provide history about the type of court structure in Illinois, the process in which judges and lawyers are selected within the state, and how judges and lawyers are disciplined. To begin, Illinois was admitted to statehood in 1818. In its original Constitution, the following was outlined: Every person ought to find a certain remedy in the laws for all injuries and wrongs which he may receive in his person, property, or reputation; he ought to obtain by law right and justice.... Next, for formal legal study, one must enter law school to obtain a secondary degree called the Juris Doctor. However, before completing this, one must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) as an entry exam to law school. The LSAT is offered four times throughout the year, and consists of three sections which are: logical reasoning, analytical reasoning, reading comprehension, and a writing sample. Hence, this test predicates how one will perform in law school and often influences the school in which students are accepted. However, upon graduation, one must pass the state bar exam. Even for this examination, there are a few requirements under Rule 704 in the Supreme Court Rules: the person must be of twenty one years of age, be of good moral character to practice law, has satisfactorily completed exams on academic qualifications an responsibility as prescribed by the Board of admissions, and attend a school on the approved list of the American Bar ... My topic is gender roles in society the social institutions which influence to the stigmatization of gender are: Family: Throughout history women and men have been stigmatized into categories based on their biological sex. Parents from day one address their child based on their physical characteristics of either a male or female. Family has a great influence because they teach their children at a young age how to properly act, if the child choses to behave not accordance with their gender role they are quickly corrected because acting out of your gender role is wrong. Religion: this social institution can play a role in influencing gender norms because some religions believe that there are specific duties and roles for each gender. For example in an Islamic religion it is believed that women are to fulfill their duties as a wife and mother while the father is to be able to protect and financially support the family. In Christianity women are seen as unfit to be in the high roles of religion like being a priest. Culture: In all cultures women have a set role in which they are to follow within their society. President Uchtdorf s statement about drinking soda became a justification and repeatedly quotable moment for Latter day Saints who frequently drink caffeinated sodas, despite its similar chemical effects to coffeeand tea, drinks that are well known as against church standards. On September 21, 2017, Brigham Young Universitymade a change to their distributable goods by starting to sell caffeinated soda drinks on campus, something Food Services had previously made the decision not to do since the mid 1950s. The sacrifices the main characters, Jim and Della Dillingham Young, made for each other were what many people would call an act of true love and generosity. They had no money for Christmas, although they did have something of substance to trade. Della had her long, beautiful hair and Jim had his pocket watch. They sacrificed for each other the greatest treasures of their house (161). Jim and Della gave all they had for each other. According to O. Henry, they could be considered Magi. The Dillingham Young s did not stop to consider how they would be affected. They thought of each other s happiness before their own. Instead, they sell their greatest treasures to buy the other a gift for Christmas. The story of The Gift of the Magi shows the underlying meaning to be truly wealthy and to sacrifice everything for it. Wealth is more than money to countless people. Loveand happiness is the key to wealth. Jim and Della may not have money but they are indeed wealthy. Love is more important than any possession or gift anyone can contain. O. Henry illustrated that within The Gift of the Magi . He showed that love and happiness is the true wealth of life by using literary elements like symbolism, the type of narrator, and irony. After a considerable reflection it was deduced that to a degree it is true that in partying knowledge and values upon younger students is both more effective and easier, as at this age they are more impressionable and accepting of new ideals. However, learning is not a an end product and the intent of the lesson was more about nurturing the ideas that the students have already subconsciously gained, whilst aiming to foster and enhance these values, in order for them to emerge consciously enriched.
