Summary of study
Our current study aimes to explore students’ attitudes towards academic
specialization and its relationship to their level of ambition among students of Kasdi
Merbah University, which can be attributed to the variable of gender and
specialization
✓ This study followed the descriptive approach that is appropriate to answer the
research questions. The participants of this study are 100 students in the following
specialties: Arabic Literature, English, Chemistry, Mathematics in the academic year
2020/2021.
✓The participants were randomly chosen to participate in this study. Two research
instruments were adopted to collect data, which are the scale of ambition level and
the measure of student attitudes, after confirming their psychometric properties.
✓ The data were analysed using the SPSS program version 20, which allowed the
application of the following statistical data: Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. half-
segmentation, internal consistency Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test and the
results were as follows:
1- There are no statistically significant differences between the level of ambition and
the students’ attitudes towards academic specialization in affecting the level of
ambition. The results have been interpreted in light of framework and on previous
studies. The findings showed that there are no statistical significant differences
between males and females at the level of ambition. Also, there is no statistically
significant interaction between gender and specialization in influencing the level of
Ambitious. The study meanwhile presents a set of suggestions addressed to scholars
and specialists in the field of study.
