Thoughts Of The Asian Crisis
Term Paper Thoughts of the Asian Crisis (1997 1998) In the period between 1997 to 1998, a
great economic storm blew the some fast developing countries, especially Thailand, Indonesia and
Malaysia. They had great economic development before the crisis, but left almost everything at the
end of the storm. The most obvious impact of the crisis is the capital outflows and currency
devaluation. So, people in those developing countries began to find who should be responding to
the crisis. International speculators were appropriate targets to be blamed due to their actives
during the crisis. The President of Indonesia, Suharto, even claimed There are [parties] trying to
engineer the fall of the rupiah to the 20,000 level [against the dollar]. It... Show more content on

Only blaming speculators for the past experience is not appropriate: the East Asian economic
structure, fiscal policy of responding the crisis and political structure possibly played more
significant roles on aggrandizing this crisis. Admittedly, the active speculators capital operation is
the catalyze of the crisis: before the crisis, those 3 Asian countries are quite similar: All of them
just endure a great economic progress for the recession of Japan in the early 1990s. The rate of
export was gradually carrying a higher weight; the real GDP had more than 8 percentage annual
growths constantly. (DeRosa 85) Also, they had a quick credit expansion for wooing the global
capital for investment. As for the section of currency exchange, Thailand and Indonesia held the
peg to the U.S dollar. Malaysia is little bit different: it did hold float exchange rate but that is
essentially a sort of dirty float which means the government will influence the direction of exchange
rate frequently to keep the exchange rate in a certain range. In anyway, those three countries tried to
use relatively sturdy currency policy and quickly increasing economic environment to attract
international capital. Admittedly, this function fairly functioning before the crisis, but there are
some potential problems are still unsolved which made their economy not as sturdy as those
countries thought

Mythology And Its Impact On Society
Mythology has and always will play a huge role in a people s life. It is human nature to ask
questions and want answers. This is where mythology comes in and gives people that answers.
Mythology also can take form in religion which has been practiced over 300,000 years ago (Wise
Geek, 2014). Belief, and knowledge that a person has, has a huge impact the choices and beliefs of
mythologyand religion. Even in the contemporary culture of today mythology still plays a huge role
in.
Myths are a way that humans can explain the impossible or the unexplainable. Callisto and Ursa
Major is a myth that was used in the past to explain the stars and the constellations. Myths also
help people through life by giving them hope, something to believe in, or my inspiring them. An
example of a doctor telling a very sick patient that it is possible to get better or that a cure will
soon be found for their illness. Myths can be used to explain the origin of life and many other
things. The bible for example explains how lives begin on Earth.
One of the most common mythological themes across the different cultures, and throughout
history is origin of people and who created people also known as religion. The earliest evidence of
religion was 300,000 years ago. It was speculated that a ritual burial site that was found from
300,000 years ago was due to religion (Wise Geek, 2014). Two of the oldest religions are
Shamanism, and Animism. Some of the oldest religions are still practiced today.

Fools Crow Analysis
The novel, Fools Crow, was written by James Welch as a Native American narrative set in 1870.
It followed the evolution of White Man s Dog, later known as Fools Crow, an adolescent Pikunis
Blackfeet Indian from the band Lone Eaters, who yearned to become wealthy and honored. An
opportunity to attain the respect he desired emerged when Fast Horse and Yellow Kidney
invited him along to a horse raid against the Crow despite his reputation for misfortune. While on
their journey to Crow camp, Fast Horse disclosed a dream where Cold Maker instructed him to
clear their water source and bring him two bull robes for his daughters in exchange for a
successful invasion. White Man s Dog also had a recurring dream of women sleeping in a lodge,
who awoke with lust in their eyes, but it ended as he moved toward them. He was uncertain of
the meaning though he knew that there was danger in that direction (pg. 18), and he chose to
withhold its possible significance from his fellow warriors. White Man s Dog was chosen to
lead the capturing of horses, and kills a Crow guard who detected the warriors. The group
believed Yellow Kidney was killed so they returned home, and White Man s Dog was praised for
his role, but Fast Horse became isolated as dreams suggested an unfinished duty to Cold Maker.
Yellow Kidney returned missing several fingers and explained his experience in captivity after he
was found taking refuge in a lodge. White Man s Dog recognized the encounter with his earlier

What Is Nietzsche s Response To Modernism
In 1882, German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche declared, God is dead! God remains dead!
And we have killed him (120). Modern thought and its scientific basis rejected the existence or
need of any God, religion, or their accompanying belief in absolute, objective morality. This
rejection of the divine preoccupies a greater segment of the population after Nietzsche s death as
humanity seeks redemption from the atrocities of two world wars. However, rejection of God and
religion removes the healing potential of faith, resulting in a modern society yearning for meaning
among the ashes of Europe s dead. No answer presents itself easily, but one of modernism s
philosophical responses reveals itself in the devastation. As Wylie Sypher surmised, we have lived
amid the dust and crashes of the twentieth century and have learned how the direst calamities that
befall man seem to prove that humanlife at... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He eschews realism to bring his audience closer to truth. Through this lens of absurdity, Ionesco
provides a multi perspective examination of these ideas with humans at its center. As Berenger
stands alone in his apartment at the conclusion of Act III, he cries out, People who try to hang on
to their individuality always come to a bad end!...Oh well, too bad!... I m not capitulating (572 ),
demonstrating at once the absurdity of individuality, conformity, and defiance. In regards to these
three response available to Ionesco s characters, Esslin postulates, what the play conveys is the
absurdity of defiance as much as the absurdity of conformism, the tragedy of the individualist who
cannot join the happy throng (180). These three responses, or concepts, constitute a major theme of
Rhinoceros, and Ionesco s contention for the absurdity in each seeks to enlarge the audience s

Neanderthals Essay
While there were many genetic differences found between Neanderthal and modern human DNA,
there was also a number of genetic overlap. Genomes were taken and sequenced from Africans,
New Guinean, Han Chinese, and French (Green et al. 2010). Genetic overlap and similarity was
found among the French, New Guinean, and Han Chinese but there was no significant similarity
found between the African genomes (Green et al. 2010). In addition, data was taken based on
haplotypic differences. If there was considerable gene flow from Neanderthals to modern humans, it
would be suspected that there would be similarities between Neanderthals and non African
haplotypes when compared to African haplotypes. The data found that there were haplotypes found
among... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through previous studies, it has been suspected that Neanderthals, who are a close common
ancestor to modern humans, lived in parts of Asia and Europe. Speculations surrounding whether or
not modern humans interbred or simply co existed with Neanderthals has been a highly regarded
topic. If interbreeding did occur, it would suggest that modern humans did in fact partly evolve
from genetic variations with Neanderthals. In one study, this question is explored even further
using information from the Neanderthal genome (Wall et al. 2013). Data was gathered based on
admixture (interbreeding) rates between Neanderthals, East Asians, and Europeans using the
Denisova genome (bone fragments found in the mountains of Siberia and Russia) (Wall et al.
2013). After comparison, the results found varying admixture rates among the different populations.
For example, the rate of admixture was 40% higher with East Asians than Europeans (Wall et al.
2013). Due to varying admixture rates, it can be suggested that Neanderthals did not all at once
interbreed with Europeans and Asians, but this interbreeding occurred during separate times
resulting in different

Essay on Parental Detachment in I Stand Here Ironing
Every parent knows how difficult it is to make decisions in the best interest of their children.
There is always some doubt in the back of the mind, what if this happens or that happens. Tillie
Olsen shows in her story I Stand Here Ironing the conflict and the results of one mother s decisions.
She illustrates the back, forth motion of the iron as the back and forth doubts in the mothers mind.
The detachment between mother and daughter in I Stand Here Ironingis understandable. The mother
struggles daily with the decisions she made while her oldest child Emily was a young baby and
toddler. Obstacles in Emily s life have made it hard for her mother to forget these decisions, and
life with Emily only reinforces these decisions.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emily is isolated from her mother s touch; she does not get the reassurance she needs that her
mother would return for her. Nurseries in this time were very stale and cold; her mother
describes it as ...lacerations of group life. (Olsen) The mental pain is like physical pain that she
could feel throughout her little body. The separation of feelings between mother and daughter
are so severe that Emily feels as though her heart is torn in two. As Olsen has done throughout
her story, the visual imagery clarifies the story. Olsen writes about the way boys and girls
appear when they live at a convalescent home, the girls still wear those gigantic red bows and
the ravaged looks... (Olsen) The children have a look of longing; they are stripped of their
emotions. They desire for nothing more than to be with their families again; they want to feel
loved and cared for. Instead, they are in a home that does not allow emotions or love. Emily was
again in that familiar place of being unwanted. Olsen describes how the parents and children are
kept at a distance so as not to be contaminated by parental germs or physical affection. (Olsen)
Parents, including Emily s mother, are kept at a distance so that they could not fill their children
with false hopes and dreams of returning home. However, the children are kept away so that they
would not tell their parents about the wretched home that they live in. After eight

Essay about The Second Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to
keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Second Amendment. Throughout history, this sentence
of twenty seven words has caused an intense debate. The polemic is that some people claim that a
gun control policy is unconstitutional, while others disagree and even say it is necessary in order
to reduce crime. Now, what does gun control mean? If it means to analyze who is responsible
enough to own a gun by a Universal Background Check ; that sounds right to everyone. But in the

Supporters of gun control claim that if there were no guns on the streets, massacres like the one in
Sandy Hook could have been prevented. Gun control supporters also argue that arming everyone
will not save you from getting killed. They argue that in a gun shooting everything happens fast and
you usually do not have time react to the situation. Moreover gun control supporters state that it is
more difficult to buy a medicine than to order ammunition online from your home. In the article
Just how easy is it to buy a gun over the Internet? published in The Washington Post by Brad
Plumer. The author explains that even though the Gun Control Act of 1968 prohibits the direct
shipping of firearms, there are sellers that are willing to sell their guns even when researchers
explicitly stated that they probably couldn t pass a background check . This shows the weakness of
the current gun regulations and the need for stronger and efficient laws that reduces murder rates.
Supporters of gun control say that banning guns is the key to prevent massacres in public places or
institutions. If there were no guns, psychopaths would not have all that deadly artillery to kill
people. Also many people believe that the second amendment is not relevant anymore. When the
constitution was written, nobody, not even the founders thought that the nation would survive. In
his article Gun Control Foes

Machiavellian Politics In Richard III And Henry V By...
William Shakespeare wrote his histories focusing on an individual historical character and how
they interact with their community as well as how it affect them or how they affected it. In
Richard III, the titular character ambition is to become a true king, but being the youngest of
three brothers (who have male sons as well) his chances are very slim so he ascends into the
throne by deceit and murder. In Henry V, the titular character agrees to go to war to extend his
influence onto France over a confusing reason by clergymen. Shakespeare, through both of the
monarchs of these plays, explores Machiavellian politics and what it means to be live by these
principles. Although both Richard the Third and Henry the Fifth are Machiavellians by having
the ability to be a constant actor and doing whatever it takes to remain in power, but by having
Henry succeed in the end shows how superior of a Machiavellian he was because he had a
concrete goal in mind throughout Henry V. As Machiavellians, Richard III and Henry V become
actors, acting differently in certain situations to be able so that they will benefit, but in these
situations Henry V has noble aims. Richard s goal just seems to become the King(1.1.140 148).
In a true Machiavellian fashion, he deceives several people like his brothers and the common
people to try and advance his goal. When he is talking with Clarence his imprisoned brother he
tells him, your imprisonment shall not be long; I will deliver you. He is

Low Back Pain
LOW BACK PAIN ACUTE
It is the pain felt in your lower back which may come from the spine, muscles, nerves, or other
nearby structures. It may also be due to problems in your mid or upper back, the testicles or
ovaries, or a hernia in the groin.
CAUSES
* If you are like most people, you will have at least one backache in your life. While such pain or
discomfort can happen anywhere in your back, the most common area affected is your low back.
This is because the low back supports most of your body s weight. * Low back pain is the number
two reason that Americans see their doctor second only to colds and flues. Many back related
injuries happen at work. But you can change that. There are many things you can do to lower your

Your doctor will ask you to speak up if there are areas where the sensation from the pin, cotton, or
feather is duller. * Most people with back pain recover within 4 to 6 weeks. Therefore, your
doctor will probably not order any tests during the first visit. However, if you have any of the
symptoms or circumstances below, your doctor may order imaging tests even at this initial exam: *
Pain that has lasted longer than one month * Numbness * Muscle weakness * Accident or injury *
Fever * If you are over 65 * You have had cancer or have a strong family history of cancer *
Weight loss * In these cases, the doctor is looking for a tumor, infection, fracture, or serious
nerve disorder. The symptoms above are clues that one of these conditions may be present. The
presence of a tumor, infection, fracture, or serious nerve disorder change how your back pain is
treated. * Tests that might be ordered include an x ray, myelogram (an x ray or CT scan of the
spine after dye has been injected into the spinal column), CT of the lower spine, or MRI of the
lower spine. * Hospitalization, traction,or spinal surgery should only be considered if nerve
damage is present or the condition fails to heal after a prolonged period. * Many people benefit
from physical therapy. Your doctor will determine if you need to see a physical

A Personal Narrative Of A Dog
Personal Narrative
Have you ever wondered what it was like to lose a very close family member, well this is about
the time that my wonderful and beautiful dog died very unexpectedly. My dog died Wednesday,
November 2, 2016. I am still staying strong and keeping my family happy by thinking with
understanding and empathy. They support me when I am sad just like I support them. When
my dog died it was the hardest thing in the world, she died in three and a half hours at only seven
years old. I have had my dog since I was four years old and now I am eleven. I am writing this to
show my dog that she is very important to me and that I think about her every second of the day.
My dog will always stay in my heart no matter how hard it is not to think about her. I know that
my dog is in a better place and her soul will always stay with my family as well as her ashes that my
family collected on November 7, 2016. I love my dog with all of my heart and still wish she was

understand my family better and know that we can overcome this very sad experience. I love
Lily so much, she was a part of the family and to see her go so fast, it was very hard. I am staying
strong and will get through this. Going through this has been hard so far. All it s going to do is
get harder, but I know that I can do it. My loyal companion may not be with me, but she will

At my school setting we always ensure that equipment is stored properly and is regularly
checked to ensure it is safe e.g. throwing away any toys that are broken and also ensuring that
toys are age appropriate. Hazardous materials and equipment is locked away and we follow the
COSHH act. We also have systems in place to ensure the safety of children at all times i.e. fire
procedure, accident and illness procedure. All members of staff are qualified, CRB checked and
given regular training. Gloves and aprons are worn at all times when dealing with bodily fluids
to prevent cross infection and to be worn when feeding the children at lunch time and when
changing the childrens nappies. All accidents and incidents are recorded and reported to the
health and safety coordinator and the parents are also informed. At my school setting we have a
variety of practitioners that are first aid qualified and are able to deal with minor injuries within
the setting, there is pictures around the school on who are first aiders so they know who to call.
At my current workplace we have a health and safety officer who oversees the running of the
setting and ensures that risk assessments are regularly carried out and updated. All staff in the

Lao-Tzu Vs Machiavelli
Peace and War
(Compare Machiavelli and Lao Tzu)
Throughout ancient history, there have been a number of ways that human beings have
attempted or succeed in governing people. There has been an assortment of religions or
philosophical ways that were said to be the best way to lead people, in order to gain power, or
whatever their goal might be. Many of these ideas went against each other, saying the other one
was wrong. One example of this was Niccole Machiavelli and his philosophical view, through The
Prince, that said it was better to be feared than loved as a ruler. Then there is the ancient religion
of Taoism that was founded by Lao Tzu. In Religion of the World, it describes the basic virtue of

Lao tzu founded and wrote about his beliefs in order to guide others that wanted to follow in his
path. He described the way of life, and the best way to do it. It was for both his followers, and
for future rulers and politicians. He believed that if the people should be governed under
Taoism. Like Lao tzu, Machiavelli wanted to write for his followers, and the leaders that would
rule behind him. His writing were instructions on how to be a prince, or a ruler of some kind.
His writings would be able to be read and followed for centuries to come. Gerald Lee Ratliff is
the award winning author that has depicted Machiavelli s life through in one of his writings, and
said Machiavelli s purpose was to describe the realities of political life... many modern politicians
have read The Prince, and no doubt they have learned something from it. (Ratliff) These people
weren t always the best, including followers like Adolf Hitler. These rulers must have listened
closely when Machiavelli, in The Prince, said Since love and fear can hardly exist together, if
we must choose between them, it is far safer to be feared than loved. There were also young
princes in the monarchy era that governed their people by the way Machiavelli said to. In both
ways, for good or evil, these writers set guidelines for future generations and

The central point of this article is to discuss the relationships between the colonizers and
colonized in culture and imperialism. Because the links between these two things (culture and
imperialism) raise important questions about how, power and knowledge works in colonial
societies. In some ways this article even looks into race relations and why they are the way they
are today. Arguing that, British indirect rule effectively resulted in racial segregation (Bush 225).
We can see that racism can be linked to a cultural problem that still effects the race relations that
we have today. The study of the indifference the British and French had when they colonized can

This example definitely is applicable to the colonization of Hong Kong. Hong Kong was
colonized after the Opium War era and soon grew to become a huge center for commerce and a
key connection point from the east to the west. This idea is exemplified by Hong Kong because
the area was lacking in economic and technology before the British came along. However I wish the
author would have given an example of the statement that: cultural power may be defined as the
will to dominate and not be dominated, to impose change whilst remaining unchanged. Because
from my observations of Hong Kong perhaps each culture wanted to impose their ideas onto one
another but what actually happened was a nice combination of both Chinese culture and British
culture effecting one another to create something new. Like many places in Asia there is a large
American/English influence but in Hong Kong it is definitely greater because of the fact that
English is commonly spoken there. The author s argument is strong however I felt it necessary to
provide my own examples because Bush lacks those cohesive examples to make her points
stronger and better supported. I do not see any problems with her argument however it would have
been nice if it provided greater historical context. Even though it would have made this piece a lot
longer it would have been nice for her to go into those details so that the reader could understand
exactly what she meant about the examples she

considered a stagnated and outdated vain of research in adaptation theory, it can be examined from
various angles to achieve a deeper understanding of the source text instead of cutting up both
sources only to fight one other for superiority; in this case Zwaan uses the film, Midnight s

The Unattainable American Dream
When the phrase American Dream is uttered, it is typically associated with having money or
striving to have money. The dream of much of the public is to have money and to be able to

is about having the opportunity to better his or herself and his or her loved ones. In either case,
there are certain circumstances and obstacles that make this dream increasingly difficult to attain.

We cannot let our work and living conditions limit our success, we must take control of the
situations in our lives. As much as we have all heard it, we need to keep a positive attitude and
mindset, or at least try to. This is probably the easiest way to take control of the situations you
are in; keeping a positive attitude has been known to increase your physical and mental health,
which can really only benefit you. In a study performed by the University of California,
Riverside, in which productivity, happiness, and overall physical and mental well being were
analyzed in working individuals, it was concluded that a positive attitude and outlook has a
great effect on one s life. Generally positive, or happy people, were found to be more satisfied
with their jobs, to perform tasks better, and less likely to be unemployed and more likely to be
physically healthier and live longer than their less happy peers (Joy). Positive people being less
likely to be unemployed allows these individuals to accumulate more money, which makes the
general public happier nowadays, and this ultimately makes the dream of having success more
easily attainable. Happy individuals being found to be healthier and to therefore live longer than
less happy individuals gives these happy individuals more time to attain the American Dream as

Volumnia s Triumph in Shakespeare s Coriolanus Essay
Because Coriolanus is largely a stage of competing self interests, it seems wholly unnecessary to
acknowledge their centrality in the play. Most of these interests are ephemeral or situational, and
are thus without true devotion. Thus however enraged particular interests are, they are rarely
triumphant. However, Volumnia s self interest warrants noting, as she is consistently resolute and
passionately advocates her opinions. Her self interest ultimately triumphs over Coriolanus
psychologically, and in consequence leaves him vulnerable to be triumphed over physically.
Assumingly on account of the marginalized status of and opportunities for Roman women,
Volumnia uses her son Coriolanus to satisfy her otherwise unrealizable longing... Show more

As Sicinius remarks, Being moved, he will not spare to gird the gods. (1.1.254) Coriolanus assumes
that he deserves unrequited honor and consequently treats any and all who contradict his intentions
with the utmost disrespect. He is relentless and debasing in interactions with the plebeians, treats
them as if they are animals, and considers them unworthy of respect. What s the matter, you
dissentious rogues,/ That, rubbing the poor itch of your opinion,/ Make yourselves scabs? (1.1.161
163) Nearly every word in this statement contributes to its abusiveness. He calls the people
dissentious (though not in their opposition to him), rogues (although the plebeians are the one s
being denied rations, rights, and respect), their opinions itches (because they irritate him) to be
scratched, and culminates by calling them scabs! Attitude is learned, and Volumnia has been
Coriolanus most influential teacher. While she insists that he be diplomatic and even fake when
necessary, Coriolanus shows that he cannot selectively curb his attitude. It is difficult to say

Nearly all schools in America serve students of different cultures, yet the way that we teach in
these schools does not reflect that at all. Schools are struggling to teach in ways that foster the
learning of all students, primarily because almost all teachers in American schools are White,
middle class females, who have never needed to teach diversely before. With an ever increasing
percentage of diverse people in the United States, this White European style of teaching needs to
be altered, so that all children are able to learn and feel comfortable in their schoolenvironment. The
first way that teachers can ensure that they are teaching in a way that encourages children of all

As a future teacher of ELL students, I have learned some awesome techniques to help me
encourage the development of both of the languages that they are learning, as well as helping
them to be successful in school. One piece of information that I want to take away from this
chapter is that each culture views how American s teach in a different way, and as a future
educator, it is my responsibility to ensure that not only the children feel comfortable with the
way that I teach, but that the parents do also. I know that it is going to be impossible to make
sure that each parent feels comfortable with every teaching strategy that I use, but that they
know that I am trying to make an effort to include their culture in my classroom. One way that I
have thought about doing this is to do home visits before school starts. This will allow me to
explain to the parents what my goals are or the school year and ask for their opinion. I am a
huge advocate for parent feedback, so I would love to hear what they have to say! I love the idea
of teaching a culturally diverse classroom, and yes, it will bring its challenges, but I feel that I

Thai cuisine. The next important ingredient is the lemon grass. It has a floral lemony scent and
imparts a delicate citrusy flavor to the dishes. Next is the Asian Sauce, which imparts a
distinctive salty flavor and a strong aroma of fish. Followed by Coconut Milk which is one of
the most important ingredient, it is added to curries to tone and to balance the spicy flavor. Next
are the Wild Lime Leaves, it gives the dishes a refreshing lingering lift that is intensively floral

the ABCDE approach when dealing with a patient with chest pain. The concept of this ten
minute reflection is to outline the areas that I can develop on for my future placements. This ten
minute reflection will show my emotional state and my knowledge that I applied in this

Calpurnia And Caesar s Relationship
In analyzing the relationship between Brutus s and Caesar s relationships with their wives, one can
tell how they become influenced yet not completely swayed to their wives claim. This further
proves and enhances the ability to identify each of the character s personalities. For instance, this
dialogue between Calpurnia and Caesar reveal their personalities:
CALPHURNIA. Alas, my lord, your confidence is getting the better of your wisdom. Don t go out
today. Say that it s my fear that keeps you inside and not your own. We ll send Mark Antonyto the
senate house, and he ll say that you re sick today. (she kneels) Let me, on my knees, win you over

However, when Calpurnia beseeched Caesar on her knees, he changed his mind quickly. When
Calpurnia referred to Caesar s confidence, it can be interpreted as his ego and pride getting the
better of his wisdom. Caesar s pride may also rise from having a higher position to his wife as a
man because the Romans lived in a patriarchal lifestyle. Calpurnia knew this and rather than
appealing to his wisdom, she appealed to his ego and pride as a man and a someone of power.
However, with outstanding contrast, the relationship between Brutus and Portia hold a significant
difference between that of Caesar s relationship with his wife. For example, in this dialogue, one

Cross Cultural Engagement Is A Process Of Learning
Introduction
Cross Cultural engagement is a process of learning to interact and communicate effectively with
individuals in another culture. Engagement implies a dynamic, two way process of communicating
with individuals in the host culture, rather than simply learning about them from a distance. It also
suggests active learning while crossing into another culture. Why is cross cultural engagement
important in a mission? In the Bible we see the twelve disciplines go on mission to spread the
Gospel. Jesus sent them on mission in groups with instructions. We, in today s era also need set of
instructions or need to know how to go on missions in other than our culture. It is a difficult and
humungous task to carry out. One need to first know what their mission is and how to pursue their
calling. My most favorite learning from this class is the work of Holy Spirit in a mission. Sunquist
writes and explains about it very beautifully. He says, Christian mission is not a project or a
function of the local church. It is very important, in the first place, not to make false
assumptions about a mission. Firstly, we need to clear our heads, realize and confess in our
hearts that we are working for God s mission, not for a church or any organization. Secondly, we
should discern and ask for help from the Holy Spirit to help and guide us through the mission that
Holy Spirit has chosen for us. Cross cultural engagement is led by the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:4 And

The Pros And Cons Of Living Off-Campus
Living off campus provides challenging opportunities for personal growth (Oberlin College, 2017).
Students who live in far areas prefer to have a rental house in order to have an easy access to their
school. In addition, Chapman University (2017), states that living off campus offers benefits and
new experiences. It leads to a more independent lifestyle, build a good relationship between the
landlord and tenants, deals with the different personalities of roommates, commuting, wise
household budgeting (e.g. to pay for rent, foods, gas, and other utilities of their rental house). On the
other hand, students that live off campus when not supervised may lead them to risks.

Teotihuacan
City of the gods, temple of the sun and moon, these names sound like places out of an Indiana
Jones movie, however the idea had to come from some place. That place is the ancient city of
Teotihuacan, Mexico. Teotihuacan is found north east of Mexico City in the flat plain lands of
the Mexican valley . Named by the Aztecs who found the abandoned city, they marveled at the
massive scale of the buildings and the city itself. The only reasonable explanation the Aztecs
could provide was that gods had made the city. Little did they know that Teotihuacan was a
bustling city that was around from about 150b.c. 750a.d., and a population as high as 200,000
.Teotihuacan is massive in scale for the ancient world, dispersed over an area of approximately 20
square kilometers. This ancient place is a perfect example of a city, it has a high population, a well
thought out street system, early factories, and massive temples which towered over the land scape.
The architecture and general environment set Teotihuacan apart as at least the crown jewel of
Mesoamerica.
The general lay out of the city was a grid with a massive central avenue know as the street of the
dead . Located on this avenue were 3 other massive structures the temple of the moon, temple of the

There were 6 Nazi extermination camps, including Auschwitz, Belzec, Chelmno, Majdanek, Sobibor

Similarities include, allusions, main character, man vs. society, and man vs. self or internal conflict.
Differences include main character Rivka, Yitzchak, Tzipporah, and Reuven are not in the movie,
Hannah has different beginning and age, and the execution was carried out different. There are two
main themes, those are the importance of family history, and the other theme is perseverance.
In The Devil s Arithmetic, book and movie, there are many similarities including the same
allusion of The Wizard of Oz, Hannah is similar, they have man vs. society, and man vs. self. The
Wizard of Oz, is an allusion meaning it was mentioned in the book. Oz is similar to the book as
Hannah was in a dream just like Dorothy. Hannah is another similarity in the book and movie as
Hannah keeps the same traits in both the book and movie. She hates Jewish history towards the
beginning, and respects it in the end. Another similarity is the conflict of man vs. society. Man
vs. society is shown as it is the Jews vs. the Nazis society. One other similarity is man vs. self as
Hannah still has an internal conflict in both the movie and book. This conflict is she questions is

Bilingual Language Learners ( Ell ), And Students
A. Introduction
There are so many diverse student groups in the United States. Two that are really of interest to me
are English language learners (ELL), and students in foster care. Though they have many
similarities, they are also vastly different.
A.1. Definition and Demographics
ELL students are either students whose first language is not English or who were raised speaking
another language in their home. ELL students made up about 9% of public school students in the
United States during the 2014/2015 school year, which equals out to about 4.5 million students!
Spanish is the number one first language of ELL students, making up about 77%. Arabic and
Chinese are the next two most popular languages ELL students speak, but only ... Show more

This all falls under linguicism. This discrimination based on language is not only a severe
challenge for ELL students, but also incredibly unfair. As people who speak English as our first
language it s easy to take advantage of that privilege, but we need to give those who do not speak
English as their first language the same respect that we would want if we were learning another
language in a surrounding that was foreign to us.
A.3.a. Strategy for ELL Students
Growing up in an incredibly diverse area, I completely overestimate the availability of ESL
(English as a second language) and ELL teachers. Because all ELL students do not have access to
such help, educators can do well to make a personal effort to reach out to their ELL students. By
making a personal effort to connect with ELL students, educators can better understand how to help
them get the most out of their education. Giving them special attention will not only help them
succeed but also make them feel more comfortable and welcome. Educators could go above and
beyond by making special copies of homework assignments for students that feature both English
and the students first language. This way they will no doubt understand what is being asked of
them, but also learn new words at the same time! Another way educators could show a personal
effort could be by making time to work with the students outside of classroom time, further
explaining anything that was taught

Organizational Behavior And Organizational Behaviour
The above drawn figure shows about organisational behaviour. It highlights the bonding among
human behaviour in organizational settings, the individual organization interface, the organization,
the environment surrounding the organization. In an organization each and every individual brings
its own experience, managerial and effective skills.
Classical Organizational theory: Popovich (2010) said that in this theory, the concentration mainly
goes in how an organization can be structured in effective manner. These three are believed to be
major contributors of organization theory, Henri Fayol, Lyndall Urwick Max Weber. But they all
given same form of structure which was Bureaucratic. Organizational behaviour plays an integral
role in organization s progress, economic growth, and productive results .
Those people who work in organization, they are literally born in there educated in organizations.
They also learn and grab most of their material possessions from organizations and die as members
of organizations. Majority of our activities are regulated by organizations, called governments. Most
adults spend their better part of life working in organizations (Roberts, 2006).
Task no.1.1: Sum up the Leadership Theories: Definition of leadership leader , shows great
influence and bonding with its theories. It is an ability of leader how he influence a group
towards the achievement of a vision or set of goals. Leadership is also about coping with change.

My Experience In My Basketball Game
We lost seven of our first nine basketball games. All we had to do to start winning was lose our

eighteen games. I could have learned many lessons from this experience, such as I should have
given up basketball nine games earlier, or everyone contributes to the team effort some just do it
better from the bench. But, I learned much more than that. Coach Ernst looked a bit surprised
when I showed up dressed out and ready to practice with my bulging left forearm the next day.
(In addition to the fiberglass cast, I wrapped it with a bit of padding and an ace bandage to
prevent any more injuries to teammates.) I realized that he expected that I would sit and watch
practices and still be a part of the team at least in name, but I know he was surprised when I was
ready to still work hard; especially considering I really had little chance to play the rest of the
year. I realized that no one would push me except myself in this situation. So, I practiced hard
that day, and every other day. The only reward was that I knew I was pushing myself as hard as I
could, and by so doing I was also pushing my teammates. Sweating profusely in a cast packaged up

The Creative Explosion By John Pfeiffer Essay
In the book, The Creative Explosion, John Pfeiffer addressed the issue of human origin, their
cultures, their religion, and social power. It takes into account the prehistoric art and how cave
painting has exploded over the years. This book can also be used to bring a deeper understanding
of the then cold war, the war on drugs, and the war on the common crimes in the modern world.
The book also puts into light the irony of how smart our ancestors were, despite their primitivism.
The way the ancestors used to spend their time also carried a major topic of discussion in the book.
Hunting and gathering are also considered important in the transformation of humanbeings culture.
This book offers an incredible account of the prehistoric times to the reader. It accurately explains
how cave arts evolved into the way in which human beings learned to express themselves in the
following historical advancements and cultures. It creates a link between the artistic ways of
expression and its relation to cultural ceremonies and practices during the ancient world. John
Pfeiffer tries to explain the human origin in a way that attracts readers to want more and more
information for the origin of humankind from the first form of hominids to the most current form
of humanity; Homo sapiens. The main purpose of the book is to show the importance of history in
the modern lives by learning how humans transformed. It puts into light the fact that, no human

The experience of France as a quality wine producer going back to the middle ages can be
regarded as a source of competitive advantage. Another source is the strong wine culture in France
creating a positive image for customers. The wine industry by itself is a very important economic
factor in France, in the mid 18th century the wine industry accounted for 17% of the overall

a. Australian Minister of Agriculture:
The labeling of wine according to regions in Australia has been already done but not with
protection by law. Tighten laws in relevance of how to label wines can be beneficial in the long
run when it comes to value creation, as can be successfully recognized in France.
Simultaneously, a financially subsidy should support wine yards with their surplus production
hence the successful long term strategy Directions to 2025 , which foresees value growth by 2015
and global leadership on the wine market by 2025 might be eased. This is necessary since Australia
will cannot compete on price in the long term bringing to mind low cost production countries such
as Chile.

The Intervention Plan By Hofstede s Intervention Plan
The Intervention plan, written for the board of directors of Bank X, consists of two parts. The first
part includes a diagnosis of information which define the core issues that should be addressed, and
secondly provide a fitting intervention plan to guide Bank X into the right direction.
The board presented a set of problems, what we should solve, the most concerning are the lack of
loyalty among the employees and the lack of honesty of the Bank towards its environment. We used
two diagnostic approaches to reach the core of the problems Bank X faces, the Onion model
invented by Hofstede, which help us to understand the different layers of the culture in the bank and
the Behaviour approach model, which aims to present a clear summary of the behaviour of your
colleagues. The diagnosed core issue, the outcome of the analysis, is related to the organizational
culture of Bank X. This connection ultimately leads to the question: How can the management of
Bank X overcome these cultural oracles concerning their lack of loyalty, which mainly results
because of the high fluctuation, the high risk taking of the employees and their self interest and on

What Are The Similarities Between Lying And Bullshit
One of the most salient features of our culture is that there is so much bullshit. (Frankfurt). This
statement truly defines the current situation of our life. I have developed a decent interest in this
topic because we are surrounded by it and the majority of people don t recognize it. There have
been a lot of difficulties in understanding this topic as there are no particular theory has been given
to this topic. According to Frankfurt bullshitis unavoidable at conditions in which we expect
somebody to talk without recognizing what he is discussing. Therefore, the production of bullshit
is based on the opportunities that an individual have to express more on a particular topic than his
knowledge on the particular topic. We are going to talk about the similarities and differences
between lying and bullshit. We will also discuss that which one is more harmful to the society and
why, we are also going to discuss about some of the questions that are related to bullshitting in our
life and discuss why we are not doing anything about it or it is just a human tendency.
Lying is the practice of communicating lies and there are many similarities between lying and
bullshit. First the main aim of liars and bullshitters are that they both want the other person to
believe that they are telling the truth. Secondly they both want to get away with the situation which
led them to tell a lie or bullshit. But there is a great difference between lying and bullshitting. The
liar has an

The Pros And Cons Of The Dawes Act
Imagine someone being told that they could not live on the land that they have lived on all their
life anymore. This native land was where that person s family had been for generations. This was
where that person s culture and life was made. Taking this land is like ripping the home away from
a human being. That was exactly what the Dawes Act did. The Dawes Act broke up Native
American reservations and gave out insufficient portions of land to the Indians to on. Because of
this I do not believe that the United Statesgovernment had a good reason for breaking up the
reservations in its attempt to assimilate the Native American population. Not only was the land that
the Native Americans obtained insufficient, but also the Dawes Act caused... Show more content on

However, this ban did not prevent the whites from trying to obtain the portions of land that the
Indians owned. The Dawes Act was a land grab that forced the Indians to sell large portions of their
land to the government for white settlement (Kauffman). This Dawes Act also had the potential to
deprive the Indians of their lands. The rule was, if the Indians did not select their land within four
years, then government agents would select it for them (Kauffman). The government had agents
sent out to select the land for the Indians. The agents gave the poor and infertile lands to the
Indians while making sure that the finest lands were sold to the whites and railroad investors.
These agents were who conned the Indians into giving up their lands before they fully owned them.
By giving the Indians infertile land, it made farming very difficult. This caused the Indians to sell or
even give the land to the whites. These agents also contributed to the idea that critics had about the
Dawes Act being just another attempt by the whites to take the Indians

Description And Description Of A Computer
NamePictureUseCommunicating MotherboardAll of the main components in a computer
connect to the motherboard the board allows all the things on it to computer to communicate.
This board contains the Northbridge and the Southbridge. The Northbridge controls the main
communications on the board between the ram, CPU and PCI e. The Southbridge
communicates with PCI, SATA and things like USB and audio. CPU The central processing
unit does all the calculations to process the data that is requested by the operating system. The
CPU connects through a socket in the motherboard and communicates with the Northbridge
which communicates with the ram and the rest of the computer to produce the data for the
CPU. CacheThe cache is inside the CPU. Where the CPU uses it as very high speed storage
where data is stored as it is processed this data is then offloaded into the ram. The cache only
communicates with the CPU as this is what gives it all its data and tells it what to store.
RamRam temporarily stores the data that is being processed by the CPU. This type of storage
is very fast so the computer can work faster than using the data directly from the HDD. However
this is volatile memory so when power is lost everything in the ram is lost. The ram
communicates with The CPU and the rest of the motherboard via the Northbridge. It receives and
stores data then sends the data when it is give a command to do so. Heat sinkThe heat sink sits on
top of the processor and draws

Women In The 1940s
The position of women throughout American society changed vastly throughout 1940 1975. The
1940s saw women change from predominant homemakers to working woman to support the war
effort. However, the 1950s forced women back inside the kitchen by using mass media and
propaganda to make them believe they were inferior to men. The portrayal of women in the fifties
gave women the idea that they could do nothing more than be wives and mothers. Although the
idea of feminism was pretty much non existent in the 1950s, women still had a feeling they were
supposed to do something more with their lives than be housewives. By the time the sixties rolled
around, women were convinced they needed to fight for their rights. The second wave of feminism
was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While fighting for civil rights in organizations such as the SNCC, women found themselves stuck
in jobs that focused on typing, cooking, and cleaning for the male members.2 The irony of fighting
for rights for people, while not getting any themselves really infuriated women, thus igniting the
fuse of the feminist movement bomb. The most prominent event that blew up the feminist
revolution bomb of the sixties was the publication of Betty Friedan s The Feminine Mystique.
Friedan s book discussed how the happy image of the 1950s American housewife was a sham and
how suburban life was just a comfortable concentration camp 3 for women. She also touched on
the idea that when women felt unhappy with their lives they blamed it on themselves or their
marriage. Many suburban housewives who felt discontent thought they were alone and were
ashamed of their feelings. However, they were wrong. In the first chapter of her book, Friedan
discusses an incident she had overheard between a group of suburban housewives in which they
discussed the problem that had no name , a problem that they all shared.4 This nameless problem
was a feeling of unhappiness in their daily housewife duties. Women were no longer happy with just
picking up the kids from school and making dinner. Friedan attributed the

Entrepreneurship And The Industrial Design Industry
Entrepreneurship in the Industrial Design Industry
Entrepreneurship
This research report will explore the key issues of entrepreneurship in the industrial design industry,
specifically zoning in on the furniture design sector. The Collins English Dictionary gives the
definition of an entrepreneur as; the owner or manager of a business enterprise who, by risk and
initiative, attempts to make profits. (Collins , 2011) This is extremely relevant in the product
design sector as money, time, labour and outsourcing of materials is needed to create prototype
products. Generally the time involved and costs of creating a one off piece of furniture are
exponentially greater in this stage of the design process than any other and can be the biggest
hurdle, which can make or break an idea or design.
Sourcing funding, access to materials and workshops and technological advancements in both
materials and computer animated design are a few of the significant issues that entrepreneurs face
when starting the development of a new product. The level of entrepreneurial activity in product
design industry is vast and branches off into many different facets, which does not just involve the
design of a new furniture piece or range but also into the import and export of original and replica
furniture and the expansion into other sectors in the design industry such as interior or object
design. With the use of internet blogs, website and social media platforms it has introduced the
opportunity

  • 2. Thoughts Of The Asian Crisis Term Paper Thoughts of the Asian Crisis (1997 1998) In the period between 1997 to 1998, a great economic storm blew the some fast developing countries, especially Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. They had great economic development before the crisis, but left almost everything at the end of the storm. The most obvious impact of the crisis is the capital outflows and currency devaluation. So, people in those developing countries began to find who should be responding to the crisis. International speculators were appropriate targets to be blamed due to their actives during the crisis. The President of Indonesia, Suharto, even claimed There are [parties] trying to engineer the fall of the rupiah to the 20,000 level [against the dollar]. It... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Only blaming speculators for the past experience is not appropriate: the East Asian economic structure, fiscal policy of responding the crisis and political structure possibly played more significant roles on aggrandizing this crisis. Admittedly, the active speculators capital operation is the catalyze of the crisis: before the crisis, those 3 Asian countries are quite similar: All of them just endure a great economic progress for the recession of Japan in the early 1990s. The rate of export was gradually carrying a higher weight; the real GDP had more than 8 percentage annual growths constantly. (DeRosa 85) Also, they had a quick credit expansion for wooing the global capital for investment. As for the section of currency exchange, Thailand and Indonesia held the peg to the U.S dollar. Malaysia is little bit different: it did hold float exchange rate but that is essentially a sort of dirty float which means the government will influence the direction of exchange rate frequently to keep the exchange rate in a certain range. In anyway, those three countries tried to use relatively sturdy currency policy and quickly increasing economic environment to attract international capital. Admittedly, this function fairly functioning before the crisis, but there are some potential problems are still unsolved which made their economy not as sturdy as those countries thought ... • 3. Mythology And Its Impact On Society Mythology has and always will play a huge role in a people s life. It is human nature to ask questions and want answers. This is where mythology comes in and gives people that answers. Mythology also can take form in religion which has been practiced over 300,000 years ago (Wise Geek, 2014). Belief, and knowledge that a person has, has a huge impact the choices and beliefs of mythologyand religion. Even in the contemporary culture of today mythology still plays a huge role in. Myths are a way that humans can explain the impossible or the unexplainable. Callisto and Ursa Major is a myth that was used in the past to explain the stars and the constellations. Myths also help people through life by giving them hope, something to believe in, or my inspiring them. An example of a doctor telling a very sick patient that it is possible to get better or that a cure will soon be found for their illness. Myths can be used to explain the origin of life and many other things. The bible for example explains how lives begin on Earth. One of the most common mythological themes across the different cultures, and throughout history is origin of people and who created people also known as religion. The earliest evidence of religion was 300,000 years ago. It was speculated that a ritual burial site that was found from 300,000 years ago was due to religion (Wise Geek, 2014). • 4. Fools Crow Analysis The novel, Fools Crow, was written by James Welch as a Native American narrative set in 1870. It followed the evolution of White Man s Dog, later known as Fools Crow, an adolescent Pikunis Blackfeet Indian from the band Lone Eaters, who yearned to become wealthy and honored. An opportunity to attain the respect he desired emerged when Fast Horse and Yellow Kidney invited him along to a horse raid against the Crow despite his reputation for misfortune. While on their journey to Crow camp, Fast Horse disclosed a dream where Cold Maker instructed him to clear their water source and bring him two bull robes for his daughters in exchange for a successful invasion. White Man s Dog also had a recurring dream of women sleeping in a lodge, who awoke with lust in their eyes, but it ended as he moved toward them. He was uncertain of the meaning though he knew that there was danger in that direction (pg. 18), and he chose to withhold its possible significance from his fellow warriors. White Man s Dog was chosen to lead the capturing of horses, and kills a Crow guard who detected the warriors. The group believed Yellow Kidney was killed so they returned home, and White Man s Dog was praised for his role, but Fast Horse became isolated as dreams suggested an unfinished duty to Cold Maker. Yellow Kidney returned missing several fingers and explained his experience in captivity after he was found taking refuge in a lodge. White Man s Dog recognized the encounter with his earlier ... • 5. What Is Nietzsche s Response To Modernism In 1882, German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche declared, God is dead! God remains dead! And we have killed him (120). Modern thought and its scientific basis rejected the existence or need of any God, religion, or their accompanying belief in absolute, objective morality. This rejection of the divine preoccupies a greater segment of the population after Nietzsche s death as humanity seeks redemption from the atrocities of two world wars. However, rejection of God and religion removes the healing potential of faith, resulting in a modern society yearning for meaning among the ashes of Europe s dead. No answer presents itself easily, but one of modernism s philosophical responses reveals itself in the devastation. As Wylie Sypher surmised, we have lived amid the dust and crashes of the twentieth century and have learned how the direst calamities that befall man seem to prove that humanlife at... Genetic overlap and similarity was found among the French, New Guinean, and Han Chinese but there was no significant similarity found between the African genomes (Green et al. 2010). In addition, data was taken based on haplotypic differences. Through previous studies, it has been suspected that Neanderthals, who are a close common ancestor to modern humans, lived in parts of Asia and Europe. Speculations surrounding whether or not modern humans interbred or simply co existed with Neanderthals has been a highly regarded topic. If interbreeding did occur, it would suggest that modern humans did in fact partly evolve from genetic variations with Neanderthals. In one study, this question is explored even further using information from the Neanderthal genome (Wall et al. 2013). Data was gathered based on admixture (interbreeding) rates between Neanderthals, East Asians, and Europeans using the Denisova genome (bone fragments found in the mountains of Siberia and Russia) (Wall et al. 2013). After comparison, the results found varying admixture rates among the different populations. For example, the rate of admixture was 40% higher with East Asians than Europeans (Wall et al. 2013). Due to varying admixture rates, it can be suggested that Neanderthals did not all at once interbreed with Europeans and Asians, but this interbreeding occurred during separate times resulting in different ... There is always some doubt in the back of the mind, what if this happens or that happens. Tillie Olsen shows in her story I Stand Here Ironing the conflict and the results of one mother s decisions. She illustrates the back, forth motion of the iron as the back and forth doubts in the mothers mind. The detachment between mother and daughter in I Stand Here Ironingis understandable. The separation of feelings between mother and daughter are so severe that Emily feels as though her heart is torn in two. Moreover gun control supporters state that it is more difficult to buy a medicine than to order ammunition online from your home. William Shakespeare wrote his histories focusing on an individual historical character and how they interact with their community as well as how it affect them or how they affected it. In Richard III, the titular character ambition is to become a true king, but being the youngest of three brothers (who have male sons as well) his chances are very slim so he ascends into the throne by deceit and murder. In Henry V, the titular character agrees to go to war to extend his influence onto France over a confusing reason by clergymen. Shakespeare, through both of the monarchs of these plays, explores Machiavellian politics and what it means to be live by these principles. Although both Richard the Third and Henry the Fifth are Machiavellians by having the ability to be a constant actor and doing whatever it takes to remain in power, but by having Henry succeed in the end shows how superior of a Machiavellian he was because he had a concrete goal in mind throughout Henry V. As Machiavellians, Richard III and Henry V become actors, acting differently in certain situations to be able so that they will benefit, but in these situations Henry V has noble aims. Richard s goal just seems to become the King(1.1.140 148). In a true Machiavellian fashion, he deceives several people like his brothers and the common people to try and advance his goal. • 28. Cross Cultural Engagement Is A Process Of Learning Introduction Cross Cultural engagement is a process of learning to interact and communicate effectively with individuals in another culture. Engagement implies a dynamic, two way process of communicating with individuals in the host culture, rather than simply learning about them from a distance. It also suggests active learning while crossing into another culture. Why is cross cultural engagement important in a mission? In the Bible we see the twelve disciplines go on mission to spread the Gospel. Jesus sent them on mission in groups with instructions. We, in today s era also need set of instructions or need to know how to go on missions in other than our culture. It is a difficult and humungous task to carry out. One need to first know what their mission is and how to pursue their calling. My most favorite learning from this class is the work of Holy Spirit in a mission. Sunquist writes and explains about it very beautifully. He says, Christian mission is not a project or a function of the local church. It is very important, in the first place, not to make false assumptions about a mission. Firstly, we need to clear our heads, realize and confess in our hearts that we are working for God s mission, not for a church or any organization. Secondly, we should discern and ask for help from the Holy Spirit to help and guide us through the mission that Holy Spirit has chosen for us. Cross cultural engagement is led by the Holy Spirit. That place is the ancient city of Teotihuacan, Mexico. Teotihuacan is found north east of Mexico City in the flat plain lands of the Mexican valley . Named by the Aztecs who found the abandoned city, they marveled at the massive scale of the buildings and the city itself. Two that are really of interest to me are English language learners (ELL), and students in foster care. Though they have many similarities, they are also vastly different. A.1. Definition and Demographics ELL students are either students whose first language is not English or who were raised speaking another language in their home. ELL students made up about 9% of public school students in the United States during the 2014/2015 school year, which equals out to about 4.5 million students! Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This all falls under linguicism. This discrimination based on language is not only a severe challenge for ELL students, but also incredibly unfair. As people who speak English as our first language it s easy to take advantage of that privilege, but we need to give those who do not speak English as their first language the same respect that we would want if we were learning another language in a surrounding that was foreign to us. A.3.a. Strategy for ELL Students Growing up in an incredibly diverse area, I completely overestimate the availability of ESL (English as a second language) and ELL teachers. Because all ELL students do not have access to such help, educators can do well to make a personal effort to reach out to their ELL students. By making a personal effort to connect with ELL students, educators can better understand how to help them get the most out of their education. Giving them special attention will not only help them succeed but also make them feel more comfortable and welcome. Educators could go above and beyond by making special copies of homework assignments for students that feature both English and the students first language. This way they will no doubt understand what is being asked of them, but also learn new words at the same time! Another way educators could show a personal effort could be by making time to work with the students outside of classroom time, further explaining anything that was taught ... The government had agents sent out to select the land for the Indians. The agents gave the poor and infertile lands to the Indians while making sure that the finest lands were sold to the whites and railroad investors. These agents were who conned the Indians into giving up their lands before they fully owned them. By giving the Indians infertile land, it made farming very difficult. This caused the Indians to sell or even give the land to the whites. These agents also contributed to the idea that critics had about the Dawes Act being just another attempt by the whites to take the Indians ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Description And Description Of A Computer NamePictureUseCommunicating MotherboardAll of the main components in a computer connect to the motherboard the board allows all the things on it to computer to communicate. This board contains the Northbridge and the Southbridge. The Northbridge controls the main communications on the board between the ram, CPU and PCI e. The Southbridge communicates with PCI, SATA and things like USB and audio. CPU The central processing unit does all the calculations to process the data that is requested by the operating system. The CPU connects through a socket in the motherboard and communicates with the Northbridge which communicates with the ram and the rest of the computer to produce the data for the CPU. CacheThe cache is inside the CPU. Where the CPU uses it as very high speed storage where data is stored as it is processed this data is then offloaded into the ram. The cache only communicates with the CPU as this is what gives it all its data and tells it what to store. RamRam temporarily stores the data that is being processed by the CPU. This type of storage is very fast so the computer can work faster than using the data directly from the HDD. However this is volatile memory so when power is lost everything in the ram is lost. The ram communicates with The CPU and the rest of the motherboard via the Northbridge. It receives and stores data then sends the data when it is give a command to do so. Heat sinkThe heat sink sits on top of the processor and draws ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Women In The 1940s The position of women throughout American society changed vastly throughout 1940 1975. Although the idea of feminism was pretty much non existent in the 1950s, women still had a feeling they were supposed to do something more with their lives than be housewives. By the time the sixties rolled around, women were convinced they needed to fight for their rights. The second wave of feminism was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While fighting for civil rights in organizations such as the SNCC, women found themselves stuck in jobs that focused on typing, cooking, and cleaning for the male members.2 The irony of fighting for rights for people, while not getting any themselves really infuriated women, thus igniting the fuse of the feminist movement bomb. The most prominent event that blew up the feminist revolution bomb of the sixties was the publication of Betty Friedan s The Feminine Mystique. Friedan s book discussed how the happy image of the 1950s American housewife was a sham and how suburban life was just a comfortable concentration camp 3 for women. She also touched on the idea that when women felt unhappy with their lives they blamed it on themselves or their marriage. Many suburban housewives who felt discontent thought they were alone and were ashamed of their feelings. However, they were wrong. In the first chapter of her book, Friedan discusses an incident she had overheard between a group of suburban housewives in which they discussed the problem that had no name , a problem that they all shared.4 This nameless problem was a feeling of unhappiness in their daily housewife duties. Women were no longer happy with just picking up the kids from school and making dinner. Friedan attributed the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
