Emotional Analysis Of CпїЅsar ChпїЅvez Saved My Life By CпїЅsar...
The Faith of Words CГ©sar Chavez once said, Nonviolence is not inaction. It is not discussion.
It is not for the timid or weak. Non violence is hard work. It is the willingness to sacrifice It is
the patience to win. . His words inspired one young man to turn his life around and become a man
of character who used his experiences to help others. In his essay CГ©sar ChГЎvez Saved My Life
Daniel Nene Alejandrez tells his story of the struggle and anger towards many injustices that
happen around him and his journey from channeling that anger through crime to using it to start
a foundation Barrios Unidos, to help men in prison overcome poverty, and the drug and
violence culture surrounding them. In his essay, Alejandrez uses key scenes from his life to
convey his main theme of spiritual connection to overcome the many hardships the Latino
community faces in this country. Alejandrez begins his essay with a story from his childhood.
He sets up the story by giving it a time and place he is the son of a migrant worker born in a
cotton field in Merigold, Mississippi. He then describes his difficult childhood using vivid
language, as the son of a migrant worker he had to move many times a year and assimilate into
many different schools. His family had to make ends meet with the little money they had so most
of the time that meant having no shoes or one pair of pants. The social climate was also very
tense, he describes it as I always remembered my experience in Texas, where

Molecular Characterization of Brucella Abortus from Cattle...
Molecular Characterization of Brucella abortus from Cattle and Buffaloes Bovine brucellosis is a
contagious disease found worldwide particularly in developing countries (OIE 2000). It is caused
by Brucella abortus and is characterized by abortion in females and orchitis in males along with
infertility in both sexes. The commonly used conventional tests for diagnosis of brucellosis include
rose bengal plate test, serum tube agglutination test, complement fixation test and ELISA. However
diagnostic efficacy of these tests is questionable on individual basis mainly because of cross
reacting antibodies. Though isolation of the causative organism is the best method for confirmation
of brucellosis but it is time consuming. PCR has been... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Affect of National Culture on Human Resources Essay
INTRODUCTION
In today s business environment, the complexity of international business has increased and
international competition has been highlighted as an essential element for multinational firms
(MNCs). Thus, in order to gain competitive advantage, various resources are utilized, such as
financial capital, technology location or human resource (HR). Moreover, HR could be seemed as
one of the most important resource which has also become a focus of attention of senior managers
in MNCs. As suggested by MacMillan(1984), MNCs can gain competitive advantage through use
of HR practice, such as training, compensation, socialization, selection, performance appraisal and
career development, as long as other firms are unable to duplicate their ... Show more content on

Based on Hofstede s (1993) definition of national culture, it is stated that national culture is the
software of the mind, and it is deeply embedded in everyday life and fairly resistant to change.
Moreover, it is confirmed that national culture has a significant relationship with HR policies and
practice (Hofstede, 1993). Also, Earley (1994) demonstrated that national cultural values that
reinforce HR are more likely to yield predictable behaviour and better performances. This is because
a national culture is usually characterized by the values of the people who belong to that culture, so
well HR practices are consistent with existing behaviour expectations and routines that transcend
the workplace. Employees are not distracted from work if HR practices are consistent with national
cultural value. The various values had been grouped, by Schuler and Jackson (1994), into four
categories, work goal importance, need deficiency, fulfillment, and job satisfaction, managerial and
organizational variables, and work role and interpersonal orientation. Furthermore, Hofstede (1993)
has presented four largely independent dimensions of differences among national values systems,
which were labeled Power Distance , Uncertainty Avoidance, Individualism vs. Collectivism, and
Masculinity vs. Femininity.
1. Power Distance, indicates the extent to which the fact that power is distributed unequally is
accepted in the society by those who do and do not possess power.

Great Depression Causes
The Great Depression was a major event in United States economic history. The Great Depression
was the worst economic downturn in the history of the industrialized world, lasting from 1929 to
1939 ( Great Depression ). There were many great factors that lead to The Great Depression, and
also, some people and events that helped finish it. The stock market crash, banking system failure,
and unemployment are some of the many events to cause The Great Depression. From The Great
Depression, the federal government has learned many lessons from the past and has created
systems to prevent it from reoccurring in the future. Some of the people and events that helped end
it were president Franklin D. Roosevelt, federal government programs, and World... Show more

Some examples of these programs were the Tennessee Valley Authority Act, National Industry
Recovery Act, Glass Steagall Act, Wagner Act, Social Security Act, and also, he created the
Works Progress Administration (WPA) ( New Deal ). In May, the Tennessee Valley Authority
Act allowed the federal government to build dams to control flooding and to generate
hydroelectric power. Congress passed a bill that same month that paid farmers who farmed
basic products to leave their fields in hopes to raise prices of goods. In June, the National
Industry Recovery Act guaranteed workers to be able to unionize for higher wages and better
work conditions. Along with the National Industrial Recovery Act, it established a public works
administration. The Glass Steagall Act effectively separated commercial banking from
investment banking and created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, among other things.
It was one of the most widely debated legislative initiatives before being signed into law by
President Franklin D. Roosevelt in June 1933 (9). This act was a very important act for banks
across the nation. The bill was designed to prevent the diversion of funds for other purposes,
provide a safer and more effective use of assets of banks, and to regulate interbank control. The
Wagner Act, more formally known as the National Labor Relations Act, created a board to

Cruising Down The Street Summary
After the Industrial Revolution, the idea of family and home went through a significant
transformation. Many businesses went from being very family oriented and personal to anonymous
and profit oriented. Compounded with issues of institutional racism, poverty, and poor education,
there was a growing controversy with the use of streets in the city. Jennifer Tilton, writer of
Cruising Down the Boulevard discusses the rhetorical and institutional harms towards youth being
in public and private property while Ulf Hannerz analyzes different subsets of Urban Studies and
how they can be used to think about societal circumstances in the city. Privatization of urban spaces
is both a predecessor and result of alienation of misunderstood persons. Concerned outsiders often
use harmful language that redirects and distracts otherwise productive efforts to fix a neighborhood.
In Oakland, public spaces were becoming more and more filled with police presence and reinforced
as forbidden areas. Community activists were very concerned with teenagers getting involved with
crime in the streets and also contributing to crime. In the process, community members criminalized
youth based on ambiguous traits and adults tried to control the way youth used the streets. Jennifer
Tilton believes that youth impact social geographies of a city(Tilton 161). She has the insight to
recognize the effects of childhood: the presence of children changes the dynamics within a family,
neighborhood, and even city.

Persson loved to code, partly due to the influence of many other games he s played. Games such as
Dwarf Fortress, Dungeon Keeper, and Infiniminer all created a positive influence on his passion,
and this directly translated in his product: Minecraft. Many of us know Minecraft through the big

Due to the nature of the game, visitors of the world would be able to interact and explore parts of
the world. Many compare it to an interactive museum exhibit. The real beneficiaries, however,
were educators. Many Minecraft creators were able to replicate historical events within the game.
The newfound level of interactivity allowed students to explore and understand historical events
like never before. Educators can also use Minecraft to build replications of settings within fictional
literature. Student now have the ability to experience an interactive version of classic books, such
as The Great Gatsby and various others. However, there is more educational gain than historical.
The aforementioned Survival Mode boasts a strong resemblance to the real world. The base
objective of the game is to find minerals and use them in order to survival. Real life ores, such and
Iron and Gold, are replicated in game, with generally similar characteristics. This allows educators
in the field of science to give interactive science lessons, engaging students further and creating a
lasting impression that generates better educational results. These type of instances became so
popular throughout the Minecraft community, that Mojang, the company who created Minecraft,

instance, the girl he had a crush on didn t want to be with him based on his buck tooth also

as he was more himself. Jin realized that it he was actually better of as Jin then as Danny as he had

Plastic surgery is a massive thing. Not only does it change the way God made you, but there are
also things that could go wrong in the midst of everything, just like the lesions and surgery in
Uglies. Although acceptance is a hard things to have throughout life, we need to be comfortable in
our own skin and not worry as much about what others think but, rather what we think.
8.The story of Uglies and Harrison Bergeron both focus on broken societies. Like Uglies, Harrison
Bergeron tries to make the society equal but in doing this breaks it even more. the transmitter

The Licence Fee Challenged
The Licence Fee Challenged
When the licence fee was first introduced it was seen as an appropriate way to keep the BBC free
from commercial and government interests. When the licensee was first introduced into the
wireless telegraphy act in November 1923 to cover radio sets it cost 10 shillings per year. By the
end of the year 200, 000 licences had been issued and five years later this had risen to two and a
half million licenses. During the forties a combined radio and TV licence was issued costing ВЈ2
in 1946, Combine license is continued until 1971 when all radio sets were exempted from the fee..

Many alternatives to the licence fee have been proposed, initially the BBC contemplated using a
model championed by retail giant John Lewis in which licence fee payers could become part
shareholders in the corporation. Since the freezing of the current licence fee rate until 2017, have
been forced to make BBC3 a purely online service. Director General Tony Hall warned that BBC4
could be next to go, if further cuts were made to the BBC s funding .
There have also been calls to introduce a subscription model for the BBC, which has been firmly
rejected by the corporation. The BBC warned that a subscription model could be exclusionary to
those unable to afford to pay. Their refusal to enter into a subscription based system may be
justified, as Sky, the UK s first subscription based model announced a target of 10 million homes
in 2004, the target was only reached in 2010, as subscriber numbers elsewhere in europe started to
plateau. The amount of time taken to reach this milestone should be of worry for the BBC, as if

Kennedy Flexible Response Essay
The most successful foreign policy was Flexible Response because it allowed for President John F.
Kennedy to deal with foreign issues with both military and nonmilitary options. Kennedy took the
position after Dwight D. Eisenhower with a narrow victory over Richard Nixon. Though the Soviet
Union was causing trouble at the time, Kennedy focused on Cuba. The foreign policy of Flexible
Response played a large role in dealing with the Soviet Unionand Cuba. Cuba had a rising
communist leader named Fidel Castro but as soon as Cuba became friends with the Soviet Union,
President Eisenhower broke ties with the country. To eliminate the threat of the rising leader,
President Eisenhower devised a plan. This event would later be called the Bay of Pigs... Show more

That s why Flexible Response worked because of the different alternatives the government had to
handle the situation. During the Cuban dilemma, the Soviet Union was planning to send nuclear
missiles to Cuba and from there, only ninety miles away, they would be aimed at the United States.
To prevent this Kennedy sent a blockade of ships to stop the missiles from entering Cuba. The
situation became known as the Cuban Missile Crisis and this impacted the people of the United
States. From home, they waited for six long days as the Soviets approached Cuba and the
blockade. The people lived as though this would be their last day because if anyone were to fire,
World War III would have broken out. This was similar to Brinkmanship because the country was
approaching the verge of war but again this was a military option President Kennedy used to stop
the missiles from reaching Cuba. Had Kennedy not send his blockade, the world would have been
on the verge of nuclear warfare. This blockade made Nikita Khrushchev, current leader of the

Euthanasia: Why It Should Be Legal
In the past, a doctor was a friend who treated the diseases. Now a doctor is a stranger who
combats diseases. Their job is not only to prevent death but also to improve the patient s quality
of life. Lots of times there is nothing a doctor can do to prevent a patient from dying if the patient
has a terminal disease; all they can do is wait for death to arrive. This waiting time can be very
painful for both the patients and the people who surround them. Not practicing euthanasia at the
request of the dying person is violating a person s rights, interfering with a doctor s job, and
increasing suffering.
First off, deciding if someone wants to be alive or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hospitals are just wasting time and money on a situation that won t get better. If the patient wants
euthanasia they deserve a quick and painless death. Doctors cannot end the huge amount of money
wasted on a treatment that won t help so why not alleviate some of those expenses from family
members and taxpayers.
Doctors should be allowed to end life, especially when the person desires it. I am only doing what I,
as a physician, should do . (Kevorkian 170) It doesn t make sense that they can keep someone alive
without having the opportunity to ask that person if they want to be living like that. Many patients
now find themselves unable to live without machines that restrict their movements and often cause
different kinds of pain, and some may prefer not to live at all . (Marzilli 69) The doctor is just the
person who helps the patient to do what they desire.
Many would say what makes life sustaining treatment none beneficial or too big of a burden if it
can achieve its design of saving life. On the other hand, if death is in the best interests of some
patients if the withdrawal of life sustaining treatment can be said to be of benefit in this case then
death constitutes a moral good for these patients . (Doyal) Incompetent patients are unable to
benefit from further treatment or find it too large of a burden if they cannot benefit from being
alive any longer. When the continuing use of life sustaining treatment is to be of no benefit or of
too much burden, the doctor

Even though the branding as a Chilean Wine is easily applied onto MontGras, there are many
factors in its control which can make sure that the company dominates the market by having a

Thus, Cabo imports are the best option for MontGras at the moment.
The UK market with respect to MontGras:
Unlike the fragmented US market, the UK was not tiered and it was also one of the most
competitive export sources in the World. One major point to consider in this market is the tax
that is levied on alcoholic drinks which is 1 pound per bottle regardless of the retail price. This
would also mean that the export of Reservas would be more beneficial as compared to Varietals
(this is in line with the company s strategic decisions as well). Again in this case, MontGras has 2
options to decide in terms of partners. The first one is the distributor that the company has been
having for a while now (since 1996). The distributor had helped MontGras gain a good position in
restaurants and other retail market too (on premise and off premise). The second option is the
leading supermarket chain Tesbury, which with the help of few promotions made the total sales
skyrocket in just a few days.
The most likely option to choose would be the currently existing distributor since completely
siding with Tesbury would majorly go against the positioning strategy planned out by MontGras.
Also in my opinion, the high volume in sales (at Tesbury) was only due to the promotion event
which is just temporary (3 days) and we will have to look into the big picture i.e. sales round the
year.

Anorexia Nervos A Serious Physical And Emotional Illness...
Introduction What is anorexia? According to Merriam Webster, anorexia is defined as, A serious
physical and emotional illness in which an abnormal fear of being fat leads to very poor eating
habits and dangerous weight loss (Anorexia, Merriam Webster). Or in other words, those who
suffer from anorexia have a fear of being fat, so they consume little to no food. Anorexia is also
linked to the anorexia nervosa, which is an illness that can potentially be a life threatening eating
disorder caused by starvation and excessive weight loss (Anorexia Nervosa,
Nationaleatingdisorder.org). Studies have concluded that 90 95% of girl s and women suffer
from anorexia nervosa and 0.5 1% of American women suffer from anorexia nervosa. This
disorder is one of the most common psychiatric diagnoses in young women and is also one of the
highest death rates of any mental health condition (Anorexia Nervosa,
NationalEatingDisorder.org). This paper will discuss the causes of anorexia and anorexia nervosa,
as well as the signs and symptoms of both, including how these disorders are linked to dental and if
available, what treatments can be used.
Etiology
What causes anorexia? Research has concluded that the cause for anorexia is inconclusive or
unknown. But many do urge that those who do suffer from anorexia, have this illness simply
because it runs in their family. It is said that females who have a parent or even a sibling who

Technology is no longer just in the familyrooms, or bedrooms. It is also in the kitchens and is often
times within easy reach or viewing of a dinnertable. This does not change when it is time to enjoy a
meal. It is becoming increasingly worse, more than one in three... Show more content on

Meier and Musick suggest that the blame does not fall on millennials, but the parents. Parents are
held accountable for several reasons, the first is that parents are the ones who purchase the gadgets
and give permission for them to be used. Parents have the power in this relationship that is why
families must be educated on the pitfalls of technology.
I agree with Annie Murphy Paul, a writer for the magazine, Good House Keeping point that
parents are responsible for children s usage of technology. In Paul s article she cited a study that
was reported by the American Journal of Epidemiology which reported that while half of parents
surveyed in a 2010 study said they always or often set limits on screen time, 18 percent of their
kids really disagreed (Paul). This highlights a key discrepancy between parents and children. In
the eyes of children parents do not restrict children enough. This is exactly what Alessondra
Villegas, a researcher at Fordham University, states in her journal. She claims that parents must be
able to develop clear rules and that parents must also be firm with the boundaries that are set forth
(Villegas 2 3). In Villegas s research she found that parents use technology to watch their children.
Villegas concluded that, on average, mothers claim to use the television as a babysitter for at least
one hour a day, (6). Her work , which was published in the New York State Communication
Association later goes on to say that television

Technology And The Pursuit Of Reaching Our Goal
Powerlifters, but more specifically women who train and compete in the United States, use many
forms of technology in the pursuit of reaching our goal. As a female powerlifter residing in the
United States I have been to numerous competitions and have had the opportunity to meet many
others who belong to the same demographic. Therefore, I can testify that my goal is similar to that
of the entire group. Our fundamental goal is to lift the most weight on the squat, bench press,
deadlift, and the combined total of these three lifts. In order to reach that goal we utilize many
forms of technology. I have categorized these forms of technology into three sections: technology
within equipment, technology for safety, and technology for information/improvement. Though
there are other forms of technology utilized, these categories cover the majority of technology we
commonly employ. Ultimately, the technology we use makes it easier for female powerlifters, like
myself, who compete in the United States to reach our goal of lifting the most amount of weight on
our three lifts because it allows us to lift without being limited by the amount of weight equipment
can hold, without injury, and with information necessary for improvement. Let us begin our
discussion on how technology is employed in a powerlifter s day to day activities by looking at the
technology within the equipment category. For starters, we lift weight on barbells designed
specifically for powerlifting. The tensile

Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is an emerging computing technology that uses the internet and central remote
servers to maintain data and applications. Cloud computing allows consumers and businesses to use
applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet
access. This technology allows for much more efficient computing by centralizing storage, memory,
processing and bandwidth. Cloud computing is broken down into three segments: applications,
platforms, and infrastructure. Each segment serves a different purpose and offers different products
for businesses and individuals around the world. In June 2009, a study conducted by VersionOne

Effectiveness Of A Patient Applied 10 % Potassium Nitrate
REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Reinhart, T. C., Killoy, W. J., Love, J., Overman, P. R., Sakumura, J. S. (1990)
This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a patient applied 10% potassium nitrate glycerine
based gel in decreasing dentinal sensitivity on teeth with exposed dentin apical to the
cementoenamel junction. The patients were divided into 3 treatment groups: group 1 was treated
with a glycerine based 10% potassium nitrate gel; group 2 was treated with a glycerine gel without
potassium nitrate; and group 3 received no gel and no treatment (control). Following brushing
and flossing, groups 1 and 2 applied the gel to the test teeth using custom made soft acrylic trays,
for a period of 5 min/ day for 4 weeks. Patient responses to cold water stimuli were measured at
baseline (week 0), then at I , 2 , 3 and 4 week intervals. Group 1 patients showed a significant
decrease in sensitivity to cold at week 2 only. The group 2 patients showed a significant decrease
in sensitivity to cold after 3 and 4 weeks. A statistically significant decrease in sensitivity was
noted between group 2 and group 3 patients at week 3, the most sustained decrease in sensitivity to
cold was found on teeth treated with plain glycerine.

A Brief History of Religion in Englad
Before the Reformation, England was a Roman Catholic society that was led by the Pope in
Rome. Religious life followed a very traditional and structured way of life and was very much
deeply embedded in the whole social and mental fabric of the country (Russell, 1996, p. 262).
Roman Catholic s were a very visual and ritual based religion and their churches were extremely
lavish in design and contained highly decorated furnishings inside (Wolffe, 2008).
England s dissent from the Catholic Church began with King Henry VIII (1491 1547). After
Catherine of Aragon failed to produce a male heir, Henry demanded a divorce from her. The Pope
denied Henrys request which led to Henry dissolving all ties with the Roman Catholic Church and
changed the direction of religion in England. Henrys VIII motives for change were for personal
gain rather than changing religious beliefs (Christianity in Britain, 2011). A law was passed in
1534 allowing Henry VIII to declare himself the head of the new Church of England, this move
allowed Henry VIII to divorce Catherine and marry Anne Boleyn the second of six wives (Steele
MacDonald, 2007).
Edward VI (1537 1553), Henry s son, who was only 9 when made king, was raised as Protestant.
Under Edwards VI reign (1547 1553) his uncle Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset who was a
devout Protestant, was made guardian and ruled in Edwards place. Somerset together with
Archbishop Cranmer began to turn England into a Protestant country (Lambert,

New Pool Fencing
Why Aluminum Is A Good Choice For Your New Pool Fencing If you re getting a new pool in
your backyard, you ll probably want to install a fence around it. Even if your local codes do not
require a fence, it is a good thing to have for safety reasons, so you don t have to worry about
anyone falling in the pool when you re not around. While you can install different kinds of pool
fencing, one of the best is aluminum. Aluminum fencing has many advantages over other types
of fencing, especially when used around wet areas or areas of high humidity. Here s why it is a
good choice for a pool fence. It Requires Little Maintenance One of the best things about
aluminum fencing is that it needs very little care. The finish is baked on, so there is no worry

However, it is lightweight, which makes it easier to install. The fencing is sold in panels that
you sink into the ground with posts. If you re handy with DIY skills, you might be able to install
an aluminum fence by yourself since it is light and easy to work with. While the fence is strong,
it is only as strong as its closed gate. One of the most important aspects of pool fencing is making
sure it has a self latching gate that is weighted to swing shut after it is opened. Another point to
consider before you begin buying supplies for your pool fence is to check your local codes.
There may be regulations for the height of fencing you need to install as well as width of the

that they are no different than natural foods. An argument that opponents make is that genetically
modified organisms have not been tested enough because they are fairly new and some scientist

Some evidence proponents use to prove genetically engineered foods are really no different comes
from the American Association for the Advancement of Science that wrote in their, Statement by
the AAAS Board of Directors On Labeling of Genetically Modified Foods, consuming foods
containing ingredients derived from GM crops is no riskier than consuming the same foods
containing ingredients from crop plants modified by conventional plant improvement techniques.
(SITE). Many governmental and scientific organizations agree with the AAAS statement. The
National Academy of Sciences found that no adverse health effects attributed to genetic engineering
have been documented in the human population. (SITE). The scientific perspective is that
genetically modified foods do not cause risks to human health. Proponents argue that genetically
modified crops will prevent world hunger and be an answer to saving thousands of lives.
Analysis and evaluation of proponent s logic
Proponents logic for supporting the Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act comes from the scientist
and governmental organizations that believe there is no difference between genetic engineering
today and what humans have done in the past for hundreds to thousands of years through selective
breeding or plans and animals. Additionally, proponents reasoning comes down to genetically
engineered foods being no different than natural foods. Proponents feel if there are mandatory

Analysis Of The Book The Smartest Kid On Earth By...
Charles Hatfield states in his essay, An Art of Tensions, that comics are marked as being easy to
read, when in fact they are a complex means of communication. Comic readers must call upon
different reading strategies, or interpretive schema, than they would use in their reading of
conventional written text. Chris Ware is often noted as a cartoonist who elevates comics because
of the number of literary awards his work has received. Ware got his start in the 1991 in RAW
Magazine, continuing his work in his series Acme Novelty Library. One of his most notable comics
is Jimmy Corrigan: the Smartest Kid on Earth. Readers learn to appreciate his comics on a higher
level because they cannot rush through his work. It s complexity is displayed through his use of
text, diagrams, and pacing. Readers value Ware s artistry because they have to work for
understanding.
Readers appreciate Chris Ware s work on a higher level because it s complexity causes the reader
to slow down to absorb the information being given to them. This is largely due to the pace of
the comics. Hatfield goes on to state in his essay that the author s task is to give the reader an
imagined sequence and it s the reader s job is to translate the series into a narrative sequence by
achieving closure. For instance the author must develop a rhythm for the reader to follow. So that
when they break the rhythm with a single image to give them a key piece of information it has
impact. When Jimmy is in the airport on

Social Aspects Of Social Norm
A social norm that strikes my fascination is in the initial actions, responses, and facial
expressions individuals convey when greeting other people, whether a person is acknowledging
a friend, co worker, family member, or a stranger, one would think that each person would greet
everyone in somewhat the same manner due to the nature of one s personality and regardless of
their relationship to that individual. I had the assumption that when people have a very bubbly
and outgoing personality they would greet everyone in the same vivacious way. Likewise, when
individuals are more reserved and less likely to take the initiative in introducing themselves to a
stranger, I figured they would be more shy and quiet in their responses. So what I wanted to do
was count to three out loud before saying, Hello back to my friends, co workers, family members,
and strangers greetings and see how they would react to this social norm violation. Therefore, the
social norm I chose to break was failing to respond directly to a persons greeting in the normal
response rate and additionally counting out loud to three before replying.
To get a fairly accurate conclusion of my findings, I responded to sixteen greetings in this
peculiar way. I gathered the reactions from four friends, four co workers, four family members
(although three were over the phone), and four random strangers who came up to talk to me. Of
the twelve individuals I know personally, all of their personalities vary in the

Comparison Of The Project Who s To Blame In Romeo And Juliet
DBQ Project Who s to Blame Blame is a word used to describe those who have some type of fault
in a situation. Love can cause great emotions, yet it can also cause tragedies. When your love is
strong enough it can also be dangerous, Romeo and Juliet caused the death of six people in a
course of three days just so they can be together. In Romeo and Juliet there are many to blamefor the
cause of each death, but the most responsible for this situation are those who follow: Juliet,
Nurse, and Friar Lawrence. Juliet could have stopped the death of six people if she only told the
truth. The Nurse, also one to blame, could have spoke out and helped out in the situation. At last,

was for the Capulets and Montagues to be in peace. Juliet, such an innocent girl, one would not

The main components that make up copper are protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons are

There are 29 electrons in the copper atom. There are 29 electrons in copper because copper has to
stay neutral, which means that there are also 29 protons. So, since electrons have a negative
charge, and protons have a positive charge, 29 negative plus 29 positive equals no charge/neutral.
The electron configuration in symbols can be translated by: the first number is the shell number,
the letter is the subshell, and the to the power of, or superscript, is the number of electrons that
are present in the subshell. In the s subshell, there is 1 orbital, in the p subshell there are 3
orbitals, and in d subshells, there are 5 orbitals ( Electron Shell. Wikipedia). Each orbital can hold a
maximum of two electrons. So, the s subshell can hold 2 electrons, the p subshell can hold 6
electrons, and the d subshell can hold 10 electrons. Since there are 29 electrons in copper, all of the
orbitals in the subshells will be filled, except there will be one extra s subshell if you use 1s2 2s2
2p6 3s2 3p6 3d10 4s1. The fourth shell is the highest shell that contains electrons in copper. So, if

Judith With The Head Of Holofernes
As artistic movements sweep certain time periods, location is an important factor in the
development of an artist s vision. While Europe is a compact continent, it s artistic productions can
be largely influenced by the country of origin. This can be seen in multiple artistic movements such
as the Renaissance where works from Italyand England while largely influenced by the same
artistic goals produce works with stylistic differences. Baroquestyle art was also subject to these
geographical differences influencing the vision of the artist. Understanding the complex layers of
an artistic movement requires one to analysis works of art and how they compare to other pieces
produced during the same time. By taking two works with the same subject matter, one can
effectively dissect the influences that time and place have had on the artist s execution. In 1530
Germany, Lucas Cranach the Elderproduced a painting titled Judith with the Head of Holofernes
depicting the biblical heroine Judith with the severed head of Holofernes. A little more than a
hundred years later in 1640 Italy, Massimo Stanzione created a similar representation of this story
in his work, Judith with the Head of Holofernes. Both artist took the same biblical story but
produced two individual works invoking different effects one through Baroque style and the other a
Renaissance interpuation.
The heroine of this story is Judith, a Jewish girl who slayed the Assyrian general, Holofernes,

Summary Of A Song For A Barbarian Reed Pipe
In the article, A Song for A Barbarian Reed Pipe was written by Maxine Hong Kingston. She
talked about a story in her childhood, and how she had difficulty challenge by learning to speak
English. Since Maxine grouped up in an immigrant family and her homeland language was
Chinese, she did not feel comfortable to communicate with people who spoke English. Even
though her mother cut her tongue when she was a baby, she still could not be able speak
fluently. Therefore, she tried to keep silence when she needed to speak English. In the other
article, The From Poets in the Kitchen was written by Paule Marshall. She talked about her
childhood experience with a bunch of black women workers. Marshall was a West Indian girl
who was born in New York, and she growed up in a working class family. When Marshall was a
kid, her mother usually chatted with her workers in the kitchen after work. Since they all spoke
dialectal English in the kitchen, the kitchen became a place that helped Marshall to build up the
languageand make a process to become a successful writer in her life. These two articles had the
similar way to show language could influence a person s behavior and characteristic. As
CzesЕ‚aw MiЕ‚osz mentioned that Language is the only homeland. Language can be a bridge to
communicate with each other, but when we did not know how to express ourselves by using other

Appeasement Policy Essay
Today, the Appeasement policy that Britain and France in the period of German aggression, was
one of the main factors historians would consider to have caused the Second World War. Had the
British or any of the Allied powers, intervened in Nazi expansionism, the war could have been
prevented as early as 1936, when Germany violated the Treaty of Versailleswith the occupation of
the Rhineland. The Appeasement is seen as the act of cowardice and of poor judgement of the
world powers. Britain, in particular, is in the spotlight. It was still considered the major power as
well as the leader the rest of the world looked upon to champion democracy and to uphold its
position as the winner of the first world war. There are arguments that with... Show more content on

To the British government, risking war will only bring in more costs and conflicts they did not
need. This also means that perhaps the lack of intervention to the British was not seen as an act
of cowardice, but simply an act for convenience the idea that it is too much trouble to go to war.
Besides the fact that Britain already had a lot on its plate, perhaps the primary reason why
Britain did not get into conflict with Germany is because of the public consensus that they the
people simply did not want to go to war. Britain did not stand up to the Nazis, because the British
people did not want to stand up to the Nazis. Throughout Europe, not just in Britain, memories of
the first world war was still very much present in people s minds. To people at the time, they were
currently living through its direct consequences. The British public insisted that everything must be
done so that war would not occur. Indeed, the policy of appeasement is evidence of that, on its
own. But this can be seen most strikingly on September 15, 1938. Britain realized that Germany s
attack on Czechoslovakia would lead to war with France and the Soviet Union, which also implies
inevitable British involvement in the conflict. In which case, Chamberlain met with Hitler at

Sitting Bull was born in 1834 into the tribal traditions of the nomadic northern plains Indians6.
Sitting Bull displayed great potential in his tribe as a hunter and began to participate as a warrior
of the tribe. Through his actions during conflicts and the leadership he displayed, Sitting Bull was
given the honor to be inducted into the Strong Heart Warrior Society, an honor bestowed only to
the bravest warriors. By the mid 1850 s he began to assert political influence on his tribe by taking
control of the Strong Hearts7. Sitting Bull knew about the relocation of the Eastern tribes by the
whites and the tactics used to push them off their land. Sitting Bull not only dealt with relocating
eastern Indian tribes, but also settlers who continued to push into the Sioux lands. The settlers knew
the boundaries of the Sioux area and continued to push into the land disregarding the boundaries.
Sitting Bull was never elected to be chief in his tribe, but his prestige and influence was greater than
other high ranking political leaders in his tribe8. Sitting Bull demonstrated his ability as a leader
through the constant pursuit he displayed

Block Booking Essay
It was during World War II that The Golden Age of Hollywood flourished, which not only produced
many patriotic films, but also brought to Hollywood a great number of exiled Europeans from
France, Germany and Austria, which included many actors, writers, directors, and composers.
During this time the film studios grew in power, new stars and directors were discovered and the
eight major studios produced more than 7500 feature films. These films were released by the
studios to audiences eager to be entertained. More than 80 million people attended at least one film
per week. This period enjoyed the greatest collection of talent gathered in one place. (Motion
Pictures, The New Encyclopedia Britannica, Chicago, Encyclopedia Britannica, 2001) ... Show

The studios often used block booking to sell films of mediocre quality.
In wasn t until the late 1937 that the studios began to run in to trouble, partly because on of
economic conditions in the United States and partly because of movies that the public felt were
low in quality and subpar. Many blamed this on the block booking. It was during this time that
one of the smaller studios (Disney Studios) released its 1937 hit Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs, an animated film with no stars and released by a small studio. This was a wakeup call for
the larger studios that maybe this practice of block booking wasn t such a good idea.
Variety magazine wrote: The wonder is not the scarcity of outstanding, smashing film hits, but that
under the present system of industry operation there are any hits at all. (Hollywood Renegades
(Archive, Hollywood in slump 1938: Variety. 12/14/1938, accessed 6/8/17). By 1947, the United
States Supreme Court Anti Trust law split the Studio System from its distribution component,
which led the way for independent theaters. By 1947 the Sherman Anti Trust Law put an end to the
studio system by dissolving the relationship between the theaters and the

Bp Deep Water Horizontal Explosion
INTRODUCTION BP originated from a British petroleum company founded in 1909. After
experiencing crises during the 1980s 1990s, the company started to have a cost cutting culture.
During mid 1990s, with an aggressive growth strategy, BP started to grow and reposition. After
BP merged with Amoco in 1998, John Browne started to serve as chief executive until May 2007.
Browne repositioned BP as a green oil company after he took over and practiced the model of
organizational decision making strategy, known as asset federation. Under this new strategy, onsite
asset managers had the authority to make decisions, and employees compensation was directly tied
to asset performance (Ingersoll et. al, 4). Many decisions made by John Browne were... Show more

Mark Hafle, one of BP s drilling engineers even claimed the cement job was working fine at court
(Ingersoll et. al, 16). The drilling engineers of the Macondo project were warned about potential
risks, but they willfully ignored the warnings and insisted everything would work fine. Such
bias and rationalized behavior of drilling engineers just added another warning sign to the
explosion of Deepwater Horizon. Secondly, BP s business relationships are complex, and the
legitimate priorities often conflict (Crews). BP s failure to prevent the explosion was due in part
to complex partnership. BP held the rights to drill using the rig and operation services leased
from Transocean. As a result, of the 126 people aboard the Deepwater Horizon, 79 were from
Transocean, seven were from BP, and the rest were from other firms (Ingersoll et. al, 1). People
serving on Deepwater Horizon came from different organizations. A decision making process
involved many authorities, which decreased the efficiency and effectiveness of decision making.
Even though BP maintained main operational authority, only six percent of people aboard the
Deepwater Horizon rig were from BP. As an important business partner of BP, Transocean provided
the equipment and performed the majority of the work, and thereafter it had some authority over
operations and maintenance. The complex business partnership caused serious

The Class System
The class system is commonly known throughout the world, although some countries admit its
existence and adhere to it more readily than others. In the US, sociologists have broken down the
typical three classes of upper, middle and lower into six classes: upper/super class, upper middle,
middle, working, working poor, and underclass. These groupings better illustrate the current state
of society, and the variances that exist between them. The superclass is the elite. They generally
are in this class due to income from outside of work, such as gaining an inheritance. This also
includes captains of industry or other prestigious work positions, and household income is $2
million (Doob, 2013, p. 78). This group is the 1% that was rallied... Show more content on

It s often believed that one will remain in the social class to which they were born, but structural
mobility has made a great impact on that concept. Structural mobility describes the technological
or institutional change [that] creates an increase or decrease in jobs within a certain class (Doob,
2013, p. 87). In the last few decades, this has generally served to create downward intergenerational
mobility, because the jobs that were held by baby boomers and caused upward social mobility for
them have now been replaced by technology or eliminated altogether. Younger generations have
found themselves facing competition not only from their peers, but from the machines that are

Analysis Of Pierre Trudeau s Just Watch Me
Source #1 is a photograph depicting a young boy, presumably selling newspapers. The front page
of the newspaper boldly declares, War Measures Act Invoked. Based on the style of clothing the
people in this photo are wearing, this photo was most likely taken in 1970 when Canadian Prime
Minister Pierre Trudeau invoked the War Measures Act in response to the October Crisis. In the
background of the photo, people can be seen going about their daily lives, a contrast to the brazen
announcement on the paper. There are no police arresting anyone, or violence of any kind. This
demonstrates an effort by the photographer to show that the War Measures Act did not cause
drastic change to daily life. The ideology presented in this source is illiberalism.... Show more

Rand, who escaped to the United States from Russia during the Cold War, defines democracy and
liberalism, in their modern forms, as the ultimate inversion. She then goes on to describe this
inversion, painting a picture of a rather illiberal society. The society she describes appears to
demonstrate very limited rights and freedoms of its citizens. She also implies that American
citizens do not have any real power over their government, even though the United States is, by
name, a democracy, and its citizens elect their government. This implication is supported by Rand
stating that the government is free to do anything it pleases, while citizens may act only by
permission, where permission is presumably that of the government. Rand then asserts that a
society in this state of rule by brute force is the worst state that a society can be

Customers want to be treated in a friendly manner with honest, straightforward information and
responses. They appreciate a customer service representative who is willing to admit mistakes and
work to correct them. Customers who believe they have been misled stop doing business with the
company. These critical incidents are experiences that make the customer walk away and never
return. They don t complain, they just leave and share the negative service experience with others.
The bad news spreads, leading the organisation to lose more customers and deterring prospective
customers. Critical incidents can include broken promises that annoy and anger customers.
Customers expect to be informed if a promise cannot be fulfilled. Finally, customers expect
understanding and empathy from a customer service representative who is willing to see things
from their point of view, especially when there is a problem. пЃ® Service encounter experience
The service encounter experience determines future levels of service and profit generated by the
organisation. It is where emotions of the service user and the customer service representative meet
in real time; most people judge service quality within the first few moments. Service is often
described as emotional labour , because it demands service personnel to engage their emotions in
their work in a way that a production line role does not. The science of customer service treats

Hearing Again: A Life Changing Aussie Discovery
Feeling constant mumbling words hard to understand, asking people to repeat conversation again
and again, and turning the television to a level that others would complain to be too loud, are the
many symptoms of hearing loss my grandfather suffered and never noticed. It was until 2003,
when we brought him to visit an audiologist, being officially told that he had permanent
sensorineural hearing loss, due to his natural aging process. This meant not being able to clearly
understand people speaking including me, his grandchild. This meant not being able to go to his
everyday work as a policeman. This meant not being able to even hear the sounds of nature; the
birds chirping, the dog barking.

Lao-Tzu And The Prince By Niccolo Machiavelli
While Thoughts From The Tao te Ching by Lao Tzu and The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli are
both pieces of work that serve as ground rules or guidelines for a ruler on how to rule a country,
the two authors prepositions vary tremendously. One author takes on a susceptible viewpoint,
while another takes on a much more conservative outlook. There are many factors as to why
they differ so much. Even though Lao Tzu and Machiavelli both provide intricate structures as
to how rulers should run their state, there are extreme differences between the two. The most
obvious difference between Lao Tzu and Machiavelli are their moral perspectives and beliefs.
Lao Tzu is very mellow and easygoing person. He believes that the best government is one that
runs itself, in the sense that the government should have very little control. Lao Tzu is very
passive. In his section titled Thoughts of the Tao te Ching, Lao Tzu says, The world is sacred.
It can t be improved. If you tamper with it, you ll ruin it. If you treat it like an object, you ll lose
it (208). This quote strengthens the claim that Lao Tzu believes in a government with little
control. This is most accredited to his religion. He is a person of the Tao, and he is very reliant
on the Master , or the god of Taoism. He believes that the Master controls everything, yet does
nothing in the sense that people hardly are aware that the Master exists. Because of his knowledge
of the Tao and the expectations of the Master, Lao Tzu

My Book Of Mormon 121 Class Essay
For my Book of Mormon 121 class, I wanted to choose a lesson that could possibly help me
prepare for a mission. We only have one boy in our family and he is the very last of 7 children.
My three older sisters didn t go on a mission and I was confused when I had the sudden urge and
desire to do so. I thought it was just curiosity, to fit in with the new norm of woman going on a
mission, and therefore have not done anything serious to pursue those feelings. But it came to pass
that whosoever did not belong to the church of Godbegan to persecute those that did belong to the
church of God, and had taken upon them the name of Christ. (1:19). I will be applying the
scripture block Alma 1:19 26 which describes how the people of the Church had to face many trials
in order to test their faith.
Living in Utah my whole life, I never had to worry about feeling pressured because of my
religion. My sister who is currently in the army, describes Utah as a bubble that has it s benefits
until you leave it. When I was first introduced to the wonders and horrors of the internet, I
realized that there was world outside of Utah. A world that encompassed swearing, suggestive
material, and cruel riles against my church. I believe that if I had the chance to experience the
world, my testimony would be able to strengthen and therefore I would not have the urge to crack
my screen when some youtube video rashes my Heavenly Fathers and Savior s church. In Alma
1:19 25 it describes the hardships

The typical structure of the cities in Brazil is characterized by segregation based on social classes
and political affiliations. Some regions in the city have good infrastructure, improved security, and

zones is the racism aspect. In Brazil, It has remained a critical aspect of separation, in terms of the
settlement, service delivery, and employment opportunities among others. In major cases, the black
population has been on the receiving end of the discrimination menace. In this paper, analysis of

It can be then noted that a European tourist, a non citizen, who feels threatened by a black person
gets state security. The status is worrying considering that the taxpayers and the citizens normally
provide the state security.
The concept of black citizenship is demonstrated by the Berlin wall concept, an allegory of racial
apartheid in Bahia. Apartheid and the wall have similar roles in that apartheid enforces
separation between races, which mostly applies to the invidious structure and racial inequality.
Though the Brazil case is different from that of South Africa, it has a history that subtly divides
the nation into races. The nature of citizenship of the black community and the whites in Brazil
can be claimed to be different. Afro Brazilians are considered as the national subjects who are
required to adhere to the laws of the land. Specifically, black peoples are required to pay taxes,
register for cards and vote in elections. Moreover, black Brazilians are subjected to aggressive
policing characterized by intense surveillance. In Brazil, the blackness and citizenship have
occurred in numerous times but in a less explicit way . It has been conditional and shaky. In most
cases, the government officials intensely had to debate on the extent to which the black population
could be full citizens, but through hiding. Despite being legal subjects, they don t actually enjoy
equal rights such as protection by the state

This source is valuable in which during its time it was a live interview with President Eisenhower,
which is firsthand political insight to political tensions with Russia and, most interesting, insight to
nuclear attitudes. In the source it reads as question to answer form rather than paragraphs which
makes it easy to follow and find notable information. The only downfall this still useful source is
that it blurs the topics about communism and nuclear weapons together. The Domino Theory

communism. The relevant piece of information ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that he was quite emotional so it make my argument slightly more difficult in order to make it

Lily as the Goddess Diana in The House of Mirth
One of the tragedies in The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton is that Lily Bart is unable to marry
Laurence Selden and thereby secure a safe position in society. Their relationship fluctuates from
casual intimacy to outright love depending on how and where Selden perceives Lily. Selden sees a
beautious quality in Lily Bart that is not present in any of the other women in the novel. This
mysterious beauty that is so often alluded to, in addition to her attraction for the other men, is best
understood when Lily is conceived of as the goddess Diana. As Diana, Lily Bart hunts for the
perfect husband but cannot marry, remains separate from the dinginess of society, and finally is...

Even at the very beginning of the novel, we notice that Lily chooses Selden s street because it is
the only street that has trees on it, some one has had the humanity to plant a few trees over there.
Let us go into the shade (8). The most intimate conversation between them will occur while
sitting in a beech grove after having walked through the woods. It is therefore safe to say that
when Lily is in the woods her true nature emerges, the nature that Selden considers to be real and
that he falls in love with. This explains why, during the theatrical presentation at the Wellington
Brys party, Selden is so deeply affected by the portrait of Lily. She emerges wearing a white
dress as part of a Reynold s painting, Mrs. Lloyd , but captivates the audience with her
naturalness: Her pale draperies and the background of foliage against which she stood served
only to relieve the long dryad like curves that swept upward from her poised foot to her lifted
arm (142). Again we see a direct comparison with Diana. Selden is so taken in by this scene that
he completely agrees with Gerty Farish when she says, It makes her look like the real Lily the
Lily I know (142). His love for Lily is strengthened by the fact that he and Gerty are the only two
people who know what Lily really is like. Selden watches the other men judging Lily, and shares a
his thoughts with the reader, making the beautiful

  • 3. It is the willingness to sacrifice It is the patience to win. . His words inspired one young man to turn his life around and become a man of character who used his experiences to help others. In his essay CГ©sar ChГЎvez Saved My Life Daniel Nene Alejandrez tells his story of the struggle and anger towards many injustices that happen around him and his journey from channeling that anger through crime to using it to start a foundation Barrios Unidos, to help men in prison overcome poverty, and the drug and violence culture surrounding them. In his essay, Alejandrez uses key scenes from his life to convey his main theme of spiritual connection to overcome the many hardships the Latino community faces in this country. Alejandrez begins his essay with a story from his childhood. He sets up the story by giving it a time and place he is the son of a migrant worker born in a cotton field in Merigold, Mississippi. He then describes his difficult childhood using vivid language, as the son of a migrant worker he had to move many times a year and assimilate into many different schools. His family had to make ends meet with the little money they had so most of the time that meant having no shoes or one pair of pants. The social climate was also very tense, he describes it as I always remembered my experience in Texas, where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is caused by Brucella abortus and is characterized by abortion in females and orchitis in males along with infertility in both sexes. The commonly used conventional tests for diagnosis of brucellosis include rose bengal plate test, serum tube agglutination test, complement fixation test and ELISA. • 5. The Affect of National Culture on Human Resources Essay INTRODUCTION In today s business environment, the complexity of international business has increased and international competition has been highlighted as an essential element for multinational firms (MNCs). Thus, in order to gain competitive advantage, various resources are utilized, such as financial capital, technology location or human resource (HR). Moreover, HR could be seemed as one of the most important resource which has also become a focus of attention of senior managers in MNCs. As suggested by MacMillan(1984), MNCs can gain competitive advantage through use of HR practice, such as training, compensation, socialization, selection, performance appraisal and career development, as long as other firms are unable to duplicate their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on Hofstede s (1993) definition of national culture, it is stated that national culture is the software of the mind, and it is deeply embedded in everyday life and fairly resistant to change. Moreover, it is confirmed that national culture has a significant relationship with HR policies and practice (Hofstede, 1993). Also, Earley (1994) demonstrated that national cultural values that reinforce HR are more likely to yield predictable behaviour and better performances. This is because a national culture is usually characterized by the values of the people who belong to that culture, so well HR practices are consistent with existing behaviour expectations and routines that transcend the workplace. Employees are not distracted from work if HR practices are consistent with national cultural value. The various values had been grouped, by Schuler and Jackson (1994), into four categories, work goal importance, need deficiency, fulfillment, and job satisfaction, managerial and organizational variables, and work role and interpersonal orientation. Furthermore, Hofstede (1993) has presented four largely independent dimensions of differences among national values systems, which were labeled Power Distance , Uncertainty Avoidance, Individualism vs. Collectivism, and Masculinity vs. Femininity. 1. Power Distance, indicates the extent to which the fact that power is distributed unequally is accepted in the society by those who do and do not possess power. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In May, the Tennessee Valley Authority Act allowed the federal government to build dams to control flooding and to generate hydroelectric power. Congress passed a bill that same month that paid farmers who farmed basic products to leave their fields in hopes to raise prices of goods. In June, the National Industry Recovery Act guaranteed workers to be able to unionize for higher wages and better work conditions. Along with the National Industrial Recovery Act, it established a public works administration. The Glass Steagall Act effectively separated commercial banking from investment banking and created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, among other things. It was one of the most widely debated legislative initiatives before being signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in June 1933 (9). This act was a very important act for banks across the nation. • 7. Cruising Down The Street Summary After the Industrial Revolution, the idea of family and home went through a significant transformation. Many businesses went from being very family oriented and personal to anonymous and profit oriented. Compounded with issues of institutional racism, poverty, and poor education, there was a growing controversy with the use of streets in the city. Jennifer Tilton, writer of Cruising Down the Boulevard discusses the rhetorical and institutional harms towards youth being in public and private property while Ulf Hannerz analyzes different subsets of Urban Studies and how they can be used to think about societal circumstances in the city. Privatization of urban spaces is both a predecessor and result of alienation of misunderstood persons. Concerned outsiders often use harmful language that redirects and distracts otherwise productive efforts to fix a neighborhood. In Oakland, public spaces were becoming more and more filled with police presence and reinforced as forbidden areas. Community activists were very concerned with teenagers getting involved with crime in the streets and also contributing to crime. In the process, community members criminalized youth based on ambiguous traits and adults tried to control the way youth used the streets. Jennifer Tilton believes that youth impact social geographies of a city(Tilton 161). She has the insight to recognize the effects of childhood: the presence of children changes the dynamics within a family, neighborhood, and even city. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thus, Cabo imports are the best option for MontGras at the moment. The UK market with respect to MontGras: Unlike the fragmented US market, the UK was not tiered and it was also one of the most competitive export sources in the World. One major point to consider in this market is the tax that is levied on alcoholic drinks which is 1 pound per bottle regardless of the retail price. This would also mean that the export of Reservas would be more beneficial as compared to Varietals (this is in line with the company s strategic decisions as well). Again in this case, MontGras has 2 options to decide in terms of partners. The first one is the distributor that the company has been having for a while now (since 1996). The distributor had helped MontGras gain a good position in restaurants and other retail market too (on premise and off premise). The second option is the leading supermarket chain Tesbury, which with the help of few promotions made the total sales skyrocket in just a few days. The most likely option to choose would be the currently existing distributor since completely siding with Tesbury would majorly go against the positioning strategy planned out by MontGras. Parents are held accountable for several reasons, the first is that parents are the ones who purchase the gadgets and give permission for them to be used. I agree with Annie Murphy Paul, a writer for the magazine, Good House Keeping point that parents are responsible for children s usage of technology. In Paul s article she cited a study that was reported by the American Journal of Epidemiology which reported that while half of parents surveyed in a 2010 study said they always or often set limits on screen time, 18 percent of their kids really disagreed (Paul). Therefore, I can testify that my goal is similar to that of the entire group. Our fundamental goal is to lift the most weight on the squat, bench press, deadlift, and the combined total of these three lifts. In order to reach that goal we utilize many forms of technology. I have categorized these forms of technology into three sections: technology within equipment, technology for safety, and technology for information/improvement. Though there are other forms of technology utilized, these categories cover the majority of technology we commonly employ. Ultimately, the technology we use makes it easier for female powerlifters, like myself, who compete in the United States to reach our goal of lifting the most amount of weight on our three lifts because it allows us to lift without being limited by the amount of weight equipment can hold, without injury, and with information necessary for improvement. Religious life followed a very traditional and structured way of life and was very much deeply embedded in the whole social and mental fabric of the country (Russell, 1996, p. 262). Roman Catholic s were a very visual and ritual based religion and their churches were extremely lavish in design and contained highly decorated furnishings inside (Wolffe, 2008). Charles Hatfield states in his essay, An Art of Tensions, that comics are marked as being easy to read, when in fact they are a complex means of communication. Chris Ware is often noted as a cartoonist who elevates comics because of the number of literary awards his work has received. Ware got his start in the 1991 in RAW Magazine, continuing his work in his series Acme Novelty Library. One of his most notable comics is Jimmy Corrigan: the Smartest Kid on Earth. Likewise, when individuals are more reserved and less likely to take the initiative in introducing themselves to a stranger, I figured they would be more shy and quiet in their responses. So what I wanted to do was count to three out loud before saying, Hello back to my friends, co workers, family members, and strangers greetings and see how they would react to this social norm violation. Therefore, the social norm I chose to break was failing to respond directly to a persons greeting in the normal response rate and additionally counting out loud to three before replying. To get a fairly accurate conclusion of my findings, I responded to sixteen greetings in this peculiar way. I gathered the reactions from four friends, four co workers, four family members (although three were over the phone), and four random strangers who came up to talk to me. • 29. Comparison Of The Project Who s To Blame In Romeo And Juliet DBQ Project Who s to Blame Blame is a word used to describe those who have some type of fault in a situation. Love can cause great emotions, yet it can also cause tragedies. When your love is strong enough it can also be dangerous, Romeo and Juliet caused the death of six people in a course of three days just so they can be together. In Romeo and Juliet there are many to blamefor the cause of each death, but the most responsible for this situation are those who follow: Juliet, Nurse, and Friar Lawrence. Juliet could have stopped the death of six people if she only told the truth. The Nurse, also one to blame, could have spoke out and helped out in the situation. At last, Friar Lawrence, he could have made the choice not to marry Romeo and Juliet, yet all he wanted was for the Capulets and Montagues to be in peace. Juliet, such an innocent girl, one would not think she is one to blame until you know her situation. With her being a Capulet and her husband being a Montague, she knew she would have problems with her parents, especially since she told her mother It is an honor that I dream not of... Electrons are stored in energy levels. Since protons have a +1 charge and neutrons don t have a charge, the nucleus is positively charged. The two stable copper isotopes that should be describe are 63Cu and 65Cu. The composition of 63Cu is 0.6915 (15); the composition of 65Cu is 0.3085 (15) ( Isotopes of Copper. Wikipedia). The electron configuration in symbols can be translated by: the first number is the shell number, the letter is the subshell, and the to the power of, or superscript, is the number of electrons that are present in the subshell. • 34. Judith With The Head Of Holofernes As artistic movements sweep certain time periods, location is an important factor in the development of an artist s vision. While Europe is a compact continent, it s artistic productions can be largely influenced by the country of origin. This can be seen in multiple artistic movements such as the Renaissance where works from Italyand England while largely influenced by the same artistic goals produce works with stylistic differences. Baroquestyle art was also subject to these geographical differences influencing the vision of the artist. Understanding the complex layers of an artistic movement requires one to analysis works of art and how they compare to other pieces produced during the same time. By taking two works with the same subject matter, one can effectively dissect the influences that time and place have had on the artist s execution. In 1530 Germany, Lucas Cranach the Elderproduced a painting titled Judith with the Head of Holofernes depicting the biblical heroine Judith with the severed head of Holofernes. A little more than a hundred years later in 1640 Italy, Massimo Stanzione created a similar representation of this story in his work, Judith with the Head of Holofernes. The Appeasement is seen as the act of cowardice and of poor judgement of the world powers. Britain, in particular, is in the spotlight. This also means that perhaps the lack of intervention to the British was not seen as an act of cowardice, but simply an act for convenience the idea that it is too much trouble to go to war. Besides the fact that Britain already had a lot on its plate, perhaps the primary reason why Britain did not get into conflict with Germany is because of the public consensus that they the people simply did not want to go to war. Britain did not stand up to the Nazis, because the British people did not want to stand up to the Nazis. EBSCOhost, This source is valuable in which during its time it was a live interview with President Eisenhower, which is firsthand political insight to political tensions with Russia and, most interesting, insight to nuclear attitudes. In the source it reads as question to answer form rather than paragraphs which makes it easy to follow and find notable information. The only downfall this still useful source is that it blurs the topics about communism and nuclear weapons together. The Domino Theory Principle mostly relates to Communism and how the Asian countries were turning towards communism. The relevant piece of information ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It also discusses the new age of nuclear weapons being made my leaders with rebellious histories rather than the U.S or Soviet Russia in the past. Using information about unstable leaders can be used to say that America s past does not issue a reason that America need to disarm itself since we do not have these qualities. 3.Piotrowski, J.L. In Defense of Strategic Defense. Vital Speeches of the Day, Vol. 53, no. 24, 10 /1/87, pp. 742 745. This information immediately drew my attention because this was a general giving a speech in Colorado, also he favored nuclear weapons as a way to deter war, this is from a war point of view rather than a super political view, he also valued nuclear weapons. The only downfalls was that he was quite emotional so it make my argument slightly more difficult in order to make it sound and factual. But, some of the quotations in my essay will make it valuable. 4.Bell, Mark S. Beyond Emboldenment. The Effects of Nuclear Weapons on State Foreign Policy. • 51. Lily as the Goddess Diana in The House of Mirth Essay Lily as the Goddess Diana in The House of Mirth One of the tragedies in The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton is that Lily Bart is unable to marry Laurence Selden and thereby secure a safe position in society. Their relationship fluctuates from casual intimacy to outright love depending on how and where Selden perceives Lily. Selden sees a beautious quality in Lily Bart that is not present in any of the other women in the novel. This mysterious beauty that is so often alluded to, in addition to her attraction for the other men, is best understood when Lily is conceived of as the goddess Diana. Let us go into the shade (8). The most intimate conversation between them will occur while sitting in a beech grove after having walked through the woods. It is therefore safe to say that when Lily is in the woods her true nature emerges, the nature that Selden considers to be real and that he falls in love with. This explains why, during the theatrical presentation at the Wellington Brys party, Selden is so deeply affected by the portrait of Lily. She emerges wearing a white dress as part of a Reynold s painting, Mrs. Lloyd , but captivates the audience with her naturalness: Her pale draperies and the background of foliage against which she stood served only to relieve the long dryad like curves that swept upward from her poised foot to her lifted arm (142). Again we see a direct comparison with Diana. Selden is so taken in by this scene that he completely agrees with Gerty Farish when she says, It makes her look like the real Lily the Lily I know (142). His love for Lily is strengthened by the fact that he and Gerty are the only two people who know what Lily really is like. Selden watches the other men judging Lily, and shares a his thoughts with the reader, making the beautiful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
