Multiple Sclerosis And Its Effects On The Central Nervous...
he life of someone living with Multiple Sclerosis is often quite different than normal. It consists of
never ending doctors appointments, not feeling well, difficulty doing everyday tasks, and much more.
Multiple Sclerosis is the bee sting that one gets while laying out by the pool, the scrape a child gets on
his knee, and the throbbing headache the mother has after a long day at work and the horrible cry of
her child. The disease is heavy weighing on ones mind, body, and heart; yet, if one possesses the great
strength to push through they will live as much of a normal, happy, and healthy life as possible.
So what exactly is Multiple Sclerosis? Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease which affects the
central nervous system. The central nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, as well as the
optic nerves. The simplified meaning of the diseases name is Multiple scar tissues or lesions. A person
with multiple sclerosis develops numerous lesions or scars on the brain and spinal cord due to the
effects of an overworking immune system. When the immune system overworks, it attacks the myelin
the fatty substance that surrounds and insulates the nerve fibers as well as the nerve fibers themselves
(National MS Society). Myelin is essentially the coating that protects your nerves; when trying to
understand what myelin is, one can compare the similarities of myelin to the coating that covers
electrical wires. After the immune system attacks and damages the myelin,

Coach Carter s African-American History
Coach Carter was a strong and determined African American man that coached basketball at an
unprivileged gang type school. Students, there were so bad that his first day at basketball practice, one
of his players tried to fight him. Carter came to the school not to just coach basketball but to teach the
players the importance of education, respect, and team unity.
First, Carter taught his players the importance of education he believed education was everything and
students could do nothing without it. The basketball team at one part of the season was 16 0, and it
came to coach s attention that some of his players were failing and when they could not bring their
grades up he forfeited two games on the season, one of them was the most important game of the year.
The players were really mad at first, but Carter talked to the players and told them if they just focused
on the game of basketball and not there education half of them will end up in jail or dead. In the end,
they started working harder and finally brought their grades up so they were able to play the rest of the
season. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Theory Of Knowledge F Social Scientifically Research
SOC 2290: Research Methods
The theoretical orientation of this research will focus on the theory of knowledge f the social
scientifically research. The approach will examine the relationship between the level of exercise and
personal health, which will illustrate whether the individual s personal health is impacted by his/her
level of exercise or if there are additional variables that might effect this causal relationship.
The significance of the study review the issues and factors, whether increasing an individual`s overall
level of exercise will result in an increase in the individual`s health. The study does focus on a sample

Conceptual framework
Independent variable Constant variable Dependent variable
Independent variable: The level of exercise is measured by how much a student s exercise per week
Dependent variable: Is measured by the individual weekly health measurements
Control variable: Is measure by the students degree of food intake, whether healthy food or non
healthy food. Section 2: Univeriate analysis
Independent variable: level of Exercise
A measure of central tendency was computed to summarize the data for the level of exercise. A
measure of dispersion is computed to understand the variability scores of the independent variable.
The following are the results obtained from the data collection sample size = 1238, Mean = 1.99,
Median = 2.00, Mode = 1.00 and SD = 0.889 variable. When looking at the mean, it appears that most
students responded to the variable in the questionnaires. And it shows that distribution is symmetric
since the mean is close to equal the median, which concludes that this variable has a close to zero
skewness.

Examples Of Figurative Language In A Sound Of Thunder
Ray Bradbury s story, A Sound of Thunder, comes alive with vivid images and creative figurative
language that creates an atmosphere of exotic and apprehensiveness. In this story, by Ray Bradbury, a
hunter named Eckels pays $10,000 to travel with Time Safari, a time machine company that takes
hunters back to the time of dinosaurs and allows them to hunt ferocious Tyrannosaurus Rex. Truly,
Bradbury s figurative language immerses the reader into a rather frightening exotic world where the
unexpected can easily occur.
To convey this glorious mood, Bradbury uses several phrases that seem to ooze with feeling. One
example of figurative language he uses is personification or the attribution of human traits to an object
that is not human. For example, The sign on the wall seemed to quaver. By using the word quaver
which means a shake or tremble in speaking it shows the latent fright and uneasiness. This highlights
the overall uneasiness of Eckels as he is going to go on hunting journey. Another example is, The
Machine howled....The Machine slowed; its scream fell to a murmur. This is a great example of
personification. It really shows how the theme of fright ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

as though thunder were rattling. Further, the sounds of the Tyrannosaurus Rex are described as lizard

Jonathan Edwards Persuasion
Persuasion has caused lots of us to rethink how they live and who they are. But what exactly is
persuasion? Persuasion can be defined as the attempt to convince someone that something, that they
may or may not believe, is true. When used correctly, persuasion can cause almost anyone to think or
do anything. Many persuasive techniques can be used to make someone think the way you want them
to, or do what you want them to do. Jonathan Edwards was preacher and writer. He gave many
sermons to try and persuade others to think and do what he wanted them to. One of his most well
known written sermons is Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. He used the art of persuasion in this
sermon to try and convince people to change their ways before the were cast into the burning pits of
hell. Some of the persuasive techniques used by Jonathan Edwards in Sinners in the Hands of an
Angry God were logical reasoning, emotional appeal, and imagery. Jonathan Edwards used logical
reasoning to try and persuade others to repent of their sins, so that they aren t cast into the flames of
hell. First, what is logical reasoning? Logical reasoning is a persuasive technique that attempts to
convince one of something by explaining it in a logical sense. For example, grass is green because of
how it absorbs and reflects light. This is something that is true and cannot be changed, it cannot be
easily argued with. Edwards used this technique to make sure he had something to back up his other
statements that

The Wife of His Youth
Question: Discuss the theme of race in Chesnutt The Wife of His Youth ?
After the civil war, racial issues affect society and Charles Chesnutt a regional realist writer tackles the
subject. The difference between black and white, which should logically disappear, increases, and the
African American community is experiencing exclusion in some societies. Chesnutt through his text
The Wife of his youth refers to the problem by showing the contrast between black and white. He does
not hesitate to create a character belonging to the two worlds so that embodies the image of a possible
unification.
The essay begins by the exclusion accentuated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So the guests become witnesses and take part in the story. Mr Ryder tells the story as an exterior
character, we can note the use of the pronoun he throughout its history.
He raises many questions to guests to make sure they understand the situation and that they approve of
his decision; Suppose That he was young, and she much older than he, that she was light, and she was
black (Chesnutt 35), Suppose, too, that he made his way to the North ... (Chesnutt 35). He does not
seek to prolong the suspense, but to test and measure the reaction of the members. This attitude shows
that despite his loyalty to his wife, he is none the less attached to his current status. He unveils the
truth when he feels that the members approve the eventual choice; And now, ladies and gentlemen,
friends and companions, I ask you, what he should have done? (Chesnutt 36).
Presumably Chesnutt put his character in a dilemma in order to show that unification is possible
because at the end members share the opinion of Ryder knowing that Liza is black. This is more than
an approval; it is a step forward.
Charles Chesnutt uses some specific techniques of regional realist. First, he plays with the tone of his
characters by using the regional dialect, but he describes some real facts, as in many others of his
writings. For example in The Goophered Grape Vine (26), the narrator is an old black and the

Compare Utopia And A Man For All Seasons
In Utopia and A Man for All Seasons, written by Thomas More, More analyses politics through
different perspective. More travels to Antwerp as an ambassador for England and King Henry the
VIII. Here More is introduced to Raphael Hythloday, a veteran traveler. Hythloday has a great depth
of knowledge and understanding of governments of many nations and in the book it recounts their
conversations.Utopia gives readers insight in the the ways politics are influenced and through More s
and Raphael s experience one can notice the different ways persuasion is used with in politics.
Raphael s story about theft and punishment can be used to note how to persuade advisors to the Kings,
and More s ideas between civilized and academic advice can be used to persuade the King. In A Man
for All Seasons, More is faced with the decision to save his life or protect his integrity. Raphael s and
More discuss the effects of why the punishment for thievery is unnecessary and ultimately ineffective
when it comes to solving the problem. This conversation depicts a perfect way in which advisors can
be persuaded to a contrasting idea, because Morton, head advisor to the King, doesn t believe in the
new way Raphael thinks thievery should be punished but then is convinced by parts of Raphael s
ideas. More brings up the idea that the most effective way to influence public affairs is to gain the
confidence of some great king and give him advice (20). Raphael s disagrees, Kings are more
interested in the science of war than in useful peacetime techniques (20). Though Raphael doesn t
believe going directly to the king to advise, he also sees many problems with the councillors. Advisors
are either too wise to need, or too conceited to take advice from anyone else (20). Raphael brings up
that he has even seen this in England, which transitions their conversion into the punishment for
thievery. Raphael believes that the death penalty is too severe, and as a deterrent it s quite ineffective
(22). Most steal when they are desperate and no penalty on earth will stop people, and it would be
more effective to provide everyone with some means of livelihood so that they wouldn t steal in the
first place (22). This applies to more

Honey Bees And Its Effects On Bees
Bees are a vital source to most of the daily products that we use today. From the food we eat, to the
trees outside. Without them, there will be no greenery or some of our favorite foods. That is why it is
necessary to protect their well being. Therefore multiple solutions have been recommended to
preserve their existence, in healthy and efficient environments.
Recently, studies are showing a dramatic decrease of the bee population. As a result, there have been
fewer instances of the great pollination process performed by the bees, therefore affecting the food and
produce whose growth process are dependant on the bees. Honey bees originally came from Europe,
but the problem of the decreasing population became known after Pollination Week declared by the
senate and governors on June 22nd. The reasoning behind the lack of bees on agriculture farms, is due
to the harmful pesticide spray. Denied access to neonics, farmers will inevitably revert to spraying
their fields either from the ground or by plane with older and more dangerous insecticides (Rodgers
Media 6). Furthermore, because there are fewer pollinators, the food they help flourish have become a
worry to researchers. The world would be a desolate place without our pollinating friends, devoid of
flowers, flowering plants and many of our favorite foods (Hannon Gerald 9). Implies the importance
of the bees handiwork in the production of the produce that we eat. Although it is costly in order to
transport the

Primary Equity Markets And Secondary Equity Market Essay
The stock market is divided in two different markets called the Primary Equity Market and the
Secondary Equity Market. Primary Equity Market: The primary market is used for offering new equity
issues. This market provides companies a way to generate new fund for the business purpose. Here,
the transaction is conducted between the issuer and the investor. For example, IPO is one way of the
primary market where a company sell stocks to the public for the first time. Capital can be raised in
primary market by following ways: 1. Public issue When a company raises funds by selling its shares
to the public through issue of offer document, it is called a public issue. It can be of two types: a.
Initial Public Offer b. Further public offer Initial Public Offer: When an unlisted company makes a
public issue for the first time and gets its shares listed on stock exchange, the public issue is called as
initial public offer (IPO). An IPO brings in new investors to a firm, which facilitates the firm s access
to future growth capital. Being public also reduces the costs of raising future capital by stimulating the
supply of information from the investment community. Further public offer: When a listed company
makes another public issue to raise capital, it is called follow on offer (FPO). Indian IPO Market
Several IPO mechanisms have been experimented in India. There are two options available for a firm
while undergoing IPO process fixed price and book building. Until

areas have more opportunities as they are closer to conneting roads. Urban areas also offer more in
ways of education and employment. Rural areas prove to be a challenge as connecting roads are few,
education is lacking, and jobs are less. As you get closer to the moutainous areas the more poverty and

a community strong in family ties, togetherness, neighbors who want to help, and loyality to place. In

Cruz is pro energy when it comes to oil. He wants to approve any pipelines in order to use and exploit

subsidies for the reason that he believes they don t need help competing (PBS).
In national defense, Cruz has a strong opinion that the military needs to be built back up to the level it
has been in the past (Ted). One issue he addresses is the use of unmanned drones, in which he is a
little wary of. There are too many ways that a robot could make a mistake, civilian lives matter.
Nevertheless, Cruz is for lethal action especially when it is in response to violence from foreign
nationals. When it comes to a controversial issue of women in the military, he tactfully states the he d
rather keep women out of military combat positions, for it just doesn t make sense (ProCon).
He feels like immigration needs heavy reform and restriction. One issue he wants to correct, is
undoing the police limits the Obama administration created to detain illegal immigrants (ProCon). He
also proposes the all too familiar wall . Like most extreme conservatives, he proposes extending and
creating a strong enough wall to keep out illegal immigrants from Mexico.
Cruz s view on the economy this: something different. Maybe that is all he needs to say for people to

Essay On Should Police Wear Body Cameras
Over the past year there have been many situations between police officers and civilians that we don t
exactly know what happened because it someone s word over another. In August 2014, an unarmed
black teenager, Michael Brown, was shot by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Some witnesses
confirmed the police officer s claim that he shot the teenager under self defense. While others claimed
that the victim posed no threat to the officer and that the shooting was uncalled for. The result of this
was that the police officer wasn t charged with a crime. If that officer had been wearing a body
camera, while he was on duty, we could see with our own eyes if Michael Brown was threatening to
the officer or if the shooting was unjustified. Police officers should wear body cameras while on duty
because the cameras would hold police accountable to their actions, prevent violence, and would
improve the public s perspective on police officers.
To begin with, if police officers wore body cameras they would hold them accountable for their
actions. The article of Should Police wear Body Cameras, explained that body cameras say that they ...

The Fallout After World War 1 And The Great Depression
The fallout after the World War 1 and the Great Depression saw the emergence of a literary
preoccupation with the idea of fragmentation, and a cubist application to literature as a means of
representing the 20th Century modern reality. Authors, poets, artists etc saw; cubism, expressionism
and fragmentation as the best vehicles to depict the incomplete, broken lives of their subjects. With
both modern and post modern literature making a conscious break away from previous realism, 20thC
literature employed and explored subjectivism, whereby the author turned from the typical external
reality to the inner consciousness of a character or subject, to reflect a motif/ theme as a whole.
Modernist literature did so by exploring fragmentation in terms of narrative, how a character was
constructed, the formation of passages and chapters, and how events unfolded. This typically
surmounted to the creation of a sense of a chaotic universe, metaphysically unfounded, laced with the
subconscious fears of characters and notions of alienation.
This was successfully created by reconsidering and challenging the established conventions of
perspective . Illustrated through relativity , artists combined visual consideration and memory into a
concentrated still which they felt best documented the age in an abstract form, but which was wholly
all the more realistic. This form was not only retained for art but stretched into prominent literature;

The Pursuit Of Happiness By Aristotle
The pursuit of happiness is the reason for our existence (Aristotle, 2004) The Greek word that usually
gets translated as happiness is eudaimonia, and like most translations from ancient languages, there is
a loss of deeper meaning in translation. According to Aristotle happiness (eudaimonia) is the central
purpose of human life and a goal in itself (Aristotle, 2004) (Creed, Wardman 1963). Because of this
ideology, Aristotle devoted much of his time discussing and explaining this philosophy (Hughes,
2001). Even though he lived on the other side of the world as Mencius, they both came to similar
conclusions about happiness it is the cultivation of virtue (Creed, Wardman 1963). These virtues when
studied are more individualistic when compared to Confucian or Buddhist ideology. To Aristotle
happiness was not just the not just a result of one facet of life but all facets mental, spiritual, physical
and social (Hardie, 1980). In this way he introduced the idea of that the purpose (telos) of humanity
was to pursue happiness (Eudemonia) (Aristotle, 2004) (Creed, Wardman 1963). In this paper I will
discuss: what Eudemonia and telos are according to Aristotle and why I agree that the only life worth
living is one that pursues his definition of happiness.
One of Aristotle s most influential works is the Nicomachean Ethics. In these lectures he presents a
theory of happiness that is still pondered today (Creed, Wardman 1963). The central question
presented is What is the

The Mirror In Sylvia Plath s Mirror
Sylvia Plath s, Mirror, takes hold of a young girl s misery with her reflection. The poem s narrator is
the mirror, that witnesses accounts of the girl s miserable life. The girl ridicules her image, every day
of her life, by looking into the mirror and watching closely her imperfections taking over. As the girl
grows older, the mirror becomes abundant with the girl s sorrow towards her figure. The girl is
drowning in her self loathing and can t find a way to overcome her reflection.
The narration of Mirror is not human, but a mirror that witnesses sorrow and despair of a young girl
transforming into a woman. The mirror neither judges nor lies. It does not shed opinions but rather
respects the ethical meaning of the truth. The mirror shows what is respectfully present. I am not cruel,
only truthful. (Plath 5). The speaker is not talking to one person but is messaging the world, that a
mirror will not show what you want. A mirror represents the truth. It doesn t hide what is shown but
embraces the person looking into the mirror, that whoever is looking in, is born this way, and should
not stray from it. Mirror is a free verse type of poem, which doesn t block the poem from conveying
the meaning of the poem. The poem is broken down into two stanzas, both consisting of short
sentences. The first stanza represents how the girl first realizes her image through the mirror. The little
girl understands what she looks like and that the mirror can t replace her image with something

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Helmet
Helmets have been around since warfare. Nowadays, helmets are used for many things such as sports,
vehicles and fashion. Most current helmets are made up of a shell, a liner and a strap (bhsi.org). The
shell is the outer layer of the helmet and is usually made of plastic and glued on top of the liner. The
liner is the most important part of the helmet as it provides the most protection. It is usually made of
Expanded Polystyrene foam. As the foam crushes, it converts the mechanical energy of the collision to
other forms of energy such as heat, as well as, lengthens the time of impact which reduces the impact
force (F↓= I/T↑). These days some helmets have different layers of foam with different densities to

customer s willingness to buy the product, and thus, we do not have very safe standards. Helmet

effects on the skull because they use a rigid head model. As time passes and impacts occur, standards
could also become meaningless because the foam starts to weaken. To accommodate to this, you could

U.s. War On Terrorism Essay
The United States vision of and for the world changed dramatically, and perhaps permanently, on
September 11, 2001. The aftermath frightened and impacted the nation s reputation, and in order to
measure the nature and extent of our policies, it is important to understand our efforts after this
national attack on US soil. Many interesting documents released earlier that year provides a detailed
perspective of America s economic policies and actions towards the War on Terror. The U.S. came out
with a massive debt that has impacted the nation in several ways, but this leads to a basic question
with a complex answer: How did the U.S. War on Terrorism impact the American Debt Crisis? After
researching further into the 9/11 attacks, clearly most of the money put into the war was wasted or
misspent. Even though it was crucial going after the terrorists, especially since they had taken many
lives and were capable to repeating their attack caused fear throughout the nation. It is important to
signal out that the U.S. was attacked from a terrorist organization that had their focus on the U.S. for a
long time. The impact that this served after 9/11 plays a clear role in defining the results of how these

How The Sand Felt So Warm Against My Skin Essay
The sand felt so warm against my skin, as Robert and I basked in the sunlight. This was our ritual
every Sunday afternoon. We both loved the beach, and this was a moment for us to relax, as well as
have some alone time. Our lives are very stressful. I m a corporate attorney, and Robert s a singer
songwriter, signed with RCA records. When Robert s not touring or in the studio, and I m not dealing
with contracts or legal documents, we like to find time for one another. He and I have been married for
four years now. We met while we were in college. We both attended the great University of Southern
California. He was studying music and I was studying law. It s weird that we met, now that I think
about it,... but we just clicked. Robert s smile still melts my heart to this day. We both want to have
kids some day, but just have to fit it into our busy schedules, which is harder than it sounds. When the
sun began to set, Robert looked over at me and said, Are you ready? Every Sunday when the sun
began to set, Robert and I would swim to the drop off in the Pacific. Once we reached the drop off, we
raced back to the shore. The last one to make it to the beach cooked dinner that night. Robert usually
won, which is a good thing, since he can t cook anything. But tonight I didn t feel like cooking, and if
all else fails, he could just order a pizza. As we neared the drop off, I saw a change in Robert s swim
stroke. It looked as though he was trying to move, but his body wasn t

Wes Anderson As An Auteur
What exactly is an auteur? According to Graham Roberts and Heather Wallis, film s generic ideas
produced creative conventions in cinema language which could then be exploited and developed by
individual artists into a personal vision (127). That individual artist is the auteur; someone who,
through their work, displays several key qualities that are uniquely their own, namely: reoccurring
themes and plotlines throughout their movies; specific stylistic qualities in their films such as mise en
scene and cinematography styles; similar character attributes and traits; and narrative structure and
features (Roberts and Wallis 128). Throughout cinema s history, only several directors have ever been
referred to as an auteur . Some names that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While The Royal Tenenbaums is a clear example of how the entire movie is structured around the
family, his other works also incorporate the same family orientated structure. Take The Darjeeling
Limited (2007) for example. The movie surrounds three estranged brothers, Peter, Francis and Jack,
all with their own personal conflicts which as mentioned earlier, is another common Anderson theme
as they travel together to meet their mother. In The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Ned, whose
mother has recently passed away, believes that Steve is his father. Even his stop motion film Fantastic
Mr Fox (2009) was an adaptation of Roald Dahl s novel that surrounded a family of foxes. Wes
Anderson s continued use of the idea of family as part of the storyline for his movies is another key
trait of his which makes him qualify as another of film s

Science Has Been An Interest Of Mine
Science is something that happens every day. Science can be many different things as well.
Throughout my life, science has been an interest of mine. Asking questions, finding out how
something works, or how something is made. When I was in grade school, I don t remember having
any science classes. I do remember doing different experiments at home with my parents though. The
one thing that I loved to do was mix baking soda with vinegar and watching its reaction. This was a lot
of fun for me because it was very interesting to try and understand why both items that are used with
food and cooking, when mixed together would do something so cool. When I got older and into
middle school/high school, was when all of the cool science classes started. We learned about the
different elements on the periodic table and we got to take a tour of the science lab and all of the
fundamentals within it. The teacher showed us all of the different measuring tools and containers, the
ways to be safe in the lab like eye goggles and all of the emergency wash stations. We also got to see a
glass cabinet of a bunch of preserved animals. He explained that the animals were in formaldehyde
and also told us some of the stories behind the animals. One was a really small horse and that was
donated to the school from one of the locals because their horse had ended up having a miscarriage.
There were frogs and snakes and even bunnies and kittens. Another interesting one was a baby deer
that was also

Materialism Personal Statement
As a child, I ve always understood the world as a place where people desire upward mobility and
considered material wealth as happiness. Although I do not consider myself a materialistic person, my
perception has been shaped by several tribulations where material has affected my personal
relationships. My own philosophy is that I live by is to explore the things that you re scare of and to
challenge the unknown. Without exploring our fears, I think that we wouldn t be able to expand our
own perception of the truth and surroundings. In my opinion, our fears hold metaphors and significant
meanings that we repress and are frightened to face. In fact, they may reveal important truths, which
from acknowledging it, may lead one to live a more fulfilling

Out Figurative Language
In this poem, Robert Frost never specifies who the speaker is, but the speaker seems to be a person
observing the events as they happen. When the speaker talks, it isn t from the boy s point of view, or
the sisters. The poem is written third person. The use of the words he shows the poem is written in
third person. One way the poem shows the speaker is an observer is when the speaker says Call it a
day, I wish they might have said to please the boy by giving him the half hour that a boy counts so
much when saved from work. The speaker is talking about how he wishes the family would have let
the boy be done with work for the day. There is a lot of figurative language in Out, Out. Most of the
figurative language is personification, and

Scarlet Letter Religious Conflict
How is religious conflict at the center of American society? Religion is a vital part of American
society during the Puritan era because the Puritan system of government was a theocracy. The Puritans
of the early colonies in America linked their moral standards with official laws. The Puritans brought
strong religious beliefs to bear in all colonies north of Virginia. Ministers had great political influence,
and civil authorities exercised a large measure of control over church affairs. (Kang) The Scarlet
Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne is a novel that describes how religious conflict affects society. In The
Scarlet Letter, the book s protagonist, Hester Prynne commits the sin of adultery and is publicly
punished and shamed by her community.

For Conducting Risk Assessments
Stephen J. Donnellon
Walsh College of Accountancy and Business
Abstract
The information age has brought with it the need to secure computer networks against unauthorized
access, data manipulation and identification protection. There is no such thing as 100% secure or if an
attacker wants something bad enough they will get it , is heard often when information assurance is
discussed. In fact, as one Information Security professional well knows, when a defense is developed
to stop the breach, the enemy exhausts all means to find another way to get to the information/data or
the golden nugget . This game of cat and mouse is no more omnipresent than in the field of Risk
Management. One of the many important tools used to fight the good fight against nefarious groups is
the Risk Assessment. The risk assessment application being developed is no stranger to these cyber
delinquents and is developed with a blend of the top recommendations from the various agencies. The
RAAPP will increase the feasibility of conducting a risk assessment; thereby increasing the frequency
risk assessments are conducted in order to fortify operations and protect the golden nugget .
Discussion
Information security breach vulnerabilities are growing at a rapid rate with no end in sight. The threat
is migrating from financial, healthcare and business industries to the home as every new major

Bottled Water And Its Effects On The Human Body
Everyday millions of people will reach for a bottle of water, not thinking about the effects it can have
on many aspects of their life and others. Bottled water may seem innocent but it needs to be treated
with extreme care and caution. Even though bottled water may seem safe, it could contain many
toxins. By drinking from a plastic water bottle, people should consider if it is really worth the cost of
paying for the actual bottle itself. People should also consider the long term effects it can have on the
earth as well as the effects it can have on the human body. Bottled water has always gave the
impression of being cost efficient and safe, but when put to the test are they harming people more than
what is suspected of the so called harmless water bottle? Many people will enter a super market
without thinking and purchase a case of bottled water. On average a case of bottled water costs
approximately six dollars, a normal family of four will consume on average a whole case of water in a
week. The cost of bottled water for a month would be an estimated twenty four dollars and the average
cost of bottled water for a year would be an estimated 314 dollars. Bottled water is an important
choice in situations where there is a lack of water fountains or concern about the quality but some
families might question where else they could use this money and benefit from it increasingly more
(Lauria 665). Families could always turn to much unhealthier choice such as sugary sodas

How Does Christianity Affect Australia
The practises, beliefs and values of Christianity and Islam have an impact on Australia society;
however, the media exploits the perceived tension between the two groups which has led to
discrimination and violence. Over many years the way of which an individual lives their life has been
shown to be affected by the religion of which they follow. This affects the way of life throughout the
community surrounding these people, as well as having an impact on the social issues throughout this
particular community. Christianity has a huge impact throughout Australia, this includes through
schools, dress codes, the way of which people live in their day to day lives. Christianity has always

This defining change in the education system over the last 20 years, has been due to the modification
of the Christian schools throughout Australia (ABC, 2010). This has an influence on the culture of
Australia as it means that this percentage of students have a background of which religion was
required throughout their life, therefore the students learn Christian morals and values. This may
shape the way they live their adult lives in terms of who they vote for, and how they spend their
money as well as the fact that it means that they know the background of Christianity, having an
impact on them and society. Christianity also has a major effect on the laws throughout Australia, for
example a variety of laws have been made in relation to the Ten Commandments. Similarities are
found between the commandments which state that one should not kill, steal or bear false witness, and
the laws written about them. The parliament of Australia is majorly influenced by Christianity as the
original government was made up of the English settlers who all had a Church of England or Christian
background. This then shaped parliament into having a Christian background. Parliament is also
affected depending on the faith of the leader, for example we have had five Christian Prime Ministers,
John Howard being one of them. Howard quoted in

views of Christianity, in his book Mere Christianity. Lewis writes about some of the main issues in
Christianity, such as, ethics and humanities evident conscience. The deeper into his work one goes, the
writing opens up the eyes of the reader to new views and new rationales of Christianity. In book one,
Lewis explores humanity s conscience mindset of what is right and good, as well as, what is evil and

Three sticks, heavy twine, a sturdy nail and a dried chili pepper are not used to make a slingshot.
These ingredients are well known within the voodoo culture. This is not a new age fad, this is a

African colonies discussed in Robert Farris Thompson s Flash of the Spirit: African and Afro
American Art and Philosophy. Kongo is located in the west central area of Africa near other colonies

One particular area where artists who make similar objects can be found is in the city of New Orleans,
Louisiana. In Thompson s novel, he discusses the charm creations of Robert Bryant. Bryant designed
a charm which he referred to as the love charm. One would ask for this charm if they desired to force
a person to love them or be attracted to them and only them. Unlike the Kongo nkisi, this charm was
made from a strip of flannel. Bryant would retrieve a foot long piece of flannel that was three inches
wide and nine new needles. Bryant stated that he would fold the cloth, on one end, toward himself. As
he folded the cloth, he would say Come (fold) on (fold) home (fold). He would then proceed to repeat
this step on the untouched end of the cloth. Only this time, instead of repeating that same line, he
would say, Papa (fold) wants (fold) you (fold). Approaching the end of the process, Bryant would
insert each of the nine needles into the cloth in the shape of a cross. As each one was inserted, one
would stick it through the fabric three times while making a statement along the lines of Ma (stick)ry

Essay On Public Service Workers
Fight for Your Right! Should public service workers have the right to strike? After all, they are
humans that work jobs and deserve a fair amount for their services. But, what would happen if there
were no police around nor firefighters to do their job? Things would obviously be a mess. You have to
weigh these options and figure out which one is more important. Should we make public service
workers do their jobs even if they are working under a poor conditions or hardly getting paid to feed
their families, or should we let them strike over their own benefits and let the area become a complete
wasteland? I am here to say that public service workers should not have the right to strike for more
benefits. First of all, the area in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

pay, and they should let the U.S. Senate vote on it. If they proposed some sort of plan to get them paid

of the United States decide if what is being given is a fair amount. They should decide if what they are
being paid is or is not enough. That is why we elect these officials. If these service workers aren t
getting paid enough, then they will vote that they should be paid. This is a better solution to solve the
issue of not being paid enough rather than striking and affecting our

Essay On Law Enforcement Education
Law Enforcement Education and Training in the 21st Century and its Relation to Police
Professionalization
There is a great debate over the question of whether American law enforcement has achieved the
status of a profession. In order to answer this question, there is a need to define what a profession is
and identify the requisite attributes that qualifies an occupation to be identified as a profession.
Criminal justice administrators have been actively pursuing professionalization for their chosen
vocation while police researchers have been making recommendations which require increasing levels
of higher education and an expanded college curricula for law enforcement service (Carter, Sapp,
Stephens, State of Police Education: Policy Direction for the 21st Century, 1989). However, it seems
that part of the challenge of professionalization is the lack of general understanding of the concept.
Professionalization occurs when an occupation ceases to be irregular in operation and transforms itself
by ...the development of formal qualifications based upon education, apprenticeship, and
examinations, the emergence of regulatory bodies with powers to admit and discipline members, and
some degree of monopoly rights. (Bullock Trombley, 1999, p. 689).
A substantive definition for profession has been elusive in the literature review; therefore, a profession
can be constructively defined as a full time, remunerated, services oriented vocation governed by a
code of ethics and based on

Analysis Of The Swiss Consumer Price Inflation In Switzerland
The Swiss Consumer Price Inflation (CPI) as of October 2017 was estimated to be at 0.7 percent,
which remained unchanged from the previous month s six and a half year high, while slightly below
the market consensus of 0.8 percent. Annual core inflation, which strips out volatile price components
like food, beverages, tobacco, seasonal products, energy and fuel, came in at 0.5 percent, which also
remained unchanged from the previous month s reading and the highest since March 2011. Inflation
Rate in Switzerland averaged 2.43 percent from 1956 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 11.92
percent in December of 1973 and a record low of 1.40 percent in August of 2015. Comparing these

Capacity utilization is thus on the rise and companies are also becoming increasingly willing to invest.
The situation on the labor market is gradually improving. Switzerland is an attractive destination for
foreign investors because of its economic and political stability, transparent and fair legal system,
reliable and extensive infrastructure, and efficient capital markets. Moreover, its cantons offer
numerous tax incentives in order to attract companies to establish operations and invest in their
jurisdictions. Some cantons go as far as to waive taxes for new firms for a period of up to ten years.
The major laws regulating foreign investment in Switzerland are the Swiss Code of Obligations, the
Lex Friedrich/Koller, the Securities Law and the Cartel Law. There is no screening of foreign
investment, as well as any sector or geographical preferences. The country ranks 31st out of 190 in the
2017 Doing Business ranking of the World Bank, which is in decline compared to the previous report.
Despite its attractiveness, FDI flows to Switzerland remain highly volatile. In fact, after receiving an
amount of 70.4 billion USD in FDI in 2015 (one of the highest amounts in the world), Switzerland
faced a massive wave of divestment in 2016, ending up with a negative flow of USD 26.3 billion (the
lowest in the world). As in most other countries, international investments are a key factor for
economic growth

It consists of never ending doctors appointments, not feeling well, difficulty doing everyday tasks, and much more. Multiple Sclerosis is the bee sting that one gets while laying out by the pool, the scrape a child gets on his knee, and the throbbing headache the mother has after a long day at work and the horrible cry of her child. The disease is heavy weighing on ones mind, body, and heart; yet, if one possesses the great strength to push through they will live as much of a normal, happy, and healthy life as possible. So what exactly is Multiple Sclerosis? Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease which affects the central nervous system. The central nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, as well as the optic nerves. The simplified meaning of the diseases name is Multiple scar tissues or lesions. A person with multiple sclerosis develops numerous lesions or scars on the brain and spinal cord due to the effects of an overworking immune system. When the immune system overworks, it attacks the myelin the fatty substance that surrounds and insulates the nerve fibers as well as the nerve fibers themselves (National MS Society). Myelin is essentially the coating that protects your nerves; when trying to understand what myelin is, one can compare the similarities of myelin to the coating that covers electrical wires. After the immune system attacks and damages the myelin, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Examples Of Figurative Language In A Sound Of Thunder Ray Bradbury s story, A Sound of Thunder, comes alive with vivid images and creative figurative language that creates an atmosphere of exotic and apprehensiveness. In this story, by Ray Bradbury, a hunter named Eckels pays $10,000 to travel with Time Safari, a time machine company that takes hunters back to the time of dinosaurs and allows them to hunt ferocious Tyrannosaurus Rex. Truly, Bradbury s figurative language immerses the reader into a rather frightening exotic world where the unexpected can easily occur. To convey this glorious mood, Bradbury uses several phrases that seem to ooze with feeling. One example of figurative language he uses is personification or the attribution of human traits to an object that is not human. For example, The sign on the wall seemed to quaver. By using the word quaver which means a shake or tremble in speaking it shows the latent fright and uneasiness. This highlights the overall uneasiness of Eckels as he is going to go on hunting journey. Another example is, The Machine howled....The Machine slowed; its scream fell to a murmur. This is a great example of personification. It really shows how the theme of fright ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As it walks, the earth shakes and rumbles. • 7. Jonathan Edwards Persuasion Persuasion has caused lots of us to rethink how they live and who they are. But what exactly is persuasion? Persuasion can be defined as the attempt to convince someone that something, that they may or may not believe, is true. When used correctly, persuasion can cause almost anyone to think or do anything. Many persuasive techniques can be used to make someone think the way you want them to, or do what you want them to do. Jonathan Edwards was preacher and writer. He gave many sermons to try and persuade others to think and do what he wanted them to. One of his most well known written sermons is Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. He used the art of persuasion in this sermon to try and convince people to change their ways before the were cast into the burning pits of hell. Some of the persuasive techniques used by Jonathan Edwards in Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God were logical reasoning, emotional appeal, and imagery. Jonathan Edwards used logical reasoning to try and persuade others to repent of their sins, so that they aren t cast into the flames of hell. First, what is logical reasoning? Logical reasoning is a persuasive technique that attempts to convince one of something by explaining it in a logical sense. For example, grass is green because of how it absorbs and reflects light. This is something that is true and cannot be changed, it cannot be easily argued with. Edwards used this technique to make sure he had something to back up his other statements that ... After the civil war, racial issues affect society and Charles Chesnutt a regional realist writer tackles the subject. The difference between black and white, which should logically disappear, increases, and the African American community is experiencing exclusion in some societies. Chesnutt through his text The Wife of his youth refers to the problem by showing the contrast between black and white. He does not hesitate to create a character belonging to the two worlds so that embodies the image of a possible unification. The essay begins by the exclusion accentuated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So the guests become witnesses and take part in the story. Mr Ryder tells the story as an exterior character, we can note the use of the pronoun he throughout its history. He raises many questions to guests to make sure they understand the situation and that they approve of his decision; Suppose That he was young, and she much older than he, that she was light, and she was black (Chesnutt 35), Suppose, too, that he made his way to the North ... (Chesnutt 35). He does not seek to prolong the suspense, but to test and measure the reaction of the members. This attitude shows that despite his loyalty to his wife, he is none the less attached to his current status. He unveils the truth when he feels that the members approve the eventual choice; And now, ladies and gentlemen, friends and companions, I ask you, what he should have done? (Chesnutt 36). Presumably Chesnutt put his character in a dilemma in order to show that unification is possible because at the end members share the opinion of Ryder knowing that Liza is black. This is more than an approval; it is a step forward. Charles Chesnutt uses some specific techniques of regional realist. First, he plays with the tone of his characters by using the regional dialect, but he describes some real facts, as in many others of his writings. For example in The Goophered Grape Vine (26), the narrator is an old black and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Compare Utopia And A Man For All Seasons In Utopia and A Man for All Seasons, written by Thomas More, More analyses politics through different perspective. More travels to Antwerp as an ambassador for England and King Henry the VIII. Here More is introduced to Raphael Hythloday, a veteran traveler. Hythloday has a great depth of knowledge and understanding of governments of many nations and in the book it recounts their conversations.Utopia gives readers insight in the the ways politics are influenced and through More s and Raphael s experience one can notice the different ways persuasion is used with in politics. Raphael s story about theft and punishment can be used to note how to persuade advisors to the Kings, and More s ideas between civilized and academic advice can be used to persuade the King. In A Man for All Seasons, More is faced with the decision to save his life or protect his integrity. Raphael s and More discuss the effects of why the punishment for thievery is unnecessary and ultimately ineffective when it comes to solving the problem. This conversation depicts a perfect way in which advisors can be persuaded to a contrasting idea, because Morton, head advisor to the King, doesn t believe in the new way Raphael thinks thievery should be punished but then is convinced by parts of Raphael s ideas. More brings up the idea that the most effective way to influence public affairs is to gain the confidence of some great king and give him advice (20). Raphael s disagrees, Kings are more interested in the science of war than in useful peacetime techniques (20). Though Raphael doesn t believe going directly to the king to advise, he also sees many problems with the councillors. Advisors are either too wise to need, or too conceited to take advice from anyone else (20). Raphael brings up that he has even seen this in England, which transitions their conversion into the punishment for thievery. Raphael believes that the death penalty is too severe, and as a deterrent it s quite ineffective (22). Most steal when they are desperate and no penalty on earth will stop people, and it would be more effective to provide everyone with some means of livelihood so that they wouldn t steal in the first place (22). • 10. Honey Bees And Its Effects On Bees Bees are a vital source to most of the daily products that we use today. From the food we eat, to the trees outside. Without them, there will be no greenery or some of our favorite foods. That is why it is necessary to protect their well being. Therefore multiple solutions have been recommended to preserve their existence, in healthy and efficient environments. Recently, studies are showing a dramatic decrease of the bee population. As a result, there have been fewer instances of the great pollination process performed by the bees, therefore affecting the food and produce whose growth process are dependant on the bees. Honey bees originally came from Europe, but the problem of the decreasing population became known after Pollination Week declared by the senate and governors on June 22nd. The reasoning behind the lack of bees on agriculture farms, is due to the harmful pesticide spray. Denied access to neonics, farmers will inevitably revert to spraying their fields either from the ground or by plane with older and more dangerous insecticides (Rodgers Media 6). Furthermore, because there are fewer pollinators, the food they help flourish have become a worry to researchers. The world would be a desolate place without our pollinating friends, devoid of flowers, flowering plants and many of our favorite foods (Hannon Gerald 9). Implies the importance of the bees handiwork in the production of the produce that we eat. Although it is costly in order to transport the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whenever I encounter a conversation about war people instantly bring up the negativity. I am not judging people on their opinion on how they feel that war is a genocide and a complete atrocity. • 12. Primary Equity Markets And Secondary Equity Market Essay The stock market is divided in two different markets called the Primary Equity Market and the Secondary Equity Market. Primary Equity Market: The primary market is used for offering new equity issues. This market provides companies a way to generate new fund for the business purpose. Here, the transaction is conducted between the issuer and the investor. For example, IPO is one way of the primary market where a company sell stocks to the public for the first time. Capital can be raised in primary market by following ways: 1. Public issue When a company raises funds by selling its shares to the public through issue of offer document, it is called a public issue. It can be of two types: a. Initial Public Offer b. Further public offer Initial Public Offer: When an unlisted company makes a public issue for the first time and gets its shares listed on stock exchange, the public issue is called as initial public offer (IPO). An IPO brings in new investors to a firm, which facilitates the firm s access to future growth capital. Being public also reduces the costs of raising future capital by stimulating the supply of information from the investment community. Further public offer: When a listed company makes another public issue to raise capital, it is called follow on offer (FPO). Indian IPO Market Several IPO mechanisms have been experimented in India. Essay On Should Police Wear Body Cameras Over the past year there have been many situations between police officers and civilians that we don t exactly know what happened because it someone s word over another. In August 2014, an unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown, was shot by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Some witnesses confirmed the police officer s claim that he shot the teenager under self defense. While others claimed that the victim posed no threat to the officer and that the shooting was uncalled for. The result of this was that the police officer wasn t charged with a crime. If that officer had been wearing a body camera, while he was on duty, we could see with our own eyes if Michael Brown was threatening to the officer or if the shooting was unjustified. Police officers should wear body cameras while on duty because the cameras would hold police accountable to their actions, prevent violence, and would improve the public s perspective on police officers. The Fallout After World War 1 And The Great Depression The fallout after the World War 1 and the Great Depression saw the emergence of a literary preoccupation with the idea of fragmentation, and a cubist application to literature as a means of representing the 20th Century modern reality. Authors, poets, artists etc saw; cubism, expressionism and fragmentation as the best vehicles to depict the incomplete, broken lives of their subjects. With both modern and post modern literature making a conscious break away from previous realism, 20thC literature employed and explored subjectivism, whereby the author turned from the typical external reality to the inner consciousness of a character or subject, to reflect a motif/ theme as a whole. Modernist literature did so by exploring fragmentation in terms of narrative, how a character was constructed, the formation of passages and chapters, and how events unfolded. This typically surmounted to the creation of a sense of a chaotic universe, metaphysically unfounded, laced with the subconscious fears of characters and notions of alienation. This was successfully created by reconsidering and challenging the established conventions of perspective . The Pursuit Of Happiness By Aristotle The pursuit of happiness is the reason for our existence (Aristotle, 2004) The Greek word that usually gets translated as happiness is eudaimonia, and like most translations from ancient languages, there is a loss of deeper meaning in translation. According to Aristotle happiness (eudaimonia) is the central purpose of human life and a goal in itself (Aristotle, 2004) (Creed, Wardman 1963). Because of this ideology, Aristotle devoted much of his time discussing and explaining this philosophy (Hughes, 2001). Even though he lived on the other side of the world as Mencius, they both came to similar conclusions about happiness it is the cultivation of virtue (Creed, Wardman 1963). These virtues when studied are more individualistic when compared to Confucian or Buddhist ideology. To Aristotle happiness was not just the not just a result of one facet of life but all facets mental, spiritual, physical and social (Hardie, 1980). In this way he introduced the idea of that the purpose (telos) of humanity was to pursue happiness (Eudemonia) (Aristotle, 2004) (Creed, Wardman 1963). In this paper I will discuss: what Eudemonia and telos are according to Aristotle and why I agree that the only life worth living is one that pursues his definition of happiness. One of Aristotle s most influential works is the Nicomachean Ethics. In these lectures he presents a theory of happiness that is still pondered today (Creed, Wardman 1963). The poem s narrator is the mirror, that witnesses accounts of the girl s miserable life. The girl ridicules her image, every day of her life, by looking into the mirror and watching closely her imperfections taking over. As the girl grows older, the mirror becomes abundant with the girl s sorrow towards her figure. The girl is drowning in her self loathing and can t find a way to overcome her reflection. The narration of Mirror is not human, but a mirror that witnesses sorrow and despair of a young girl transforming into a woman. The mirror neither judges nor lies. It does not shed opinions but rather respects the ethical meaning of the truth. The mirror shows what is respectfully present. I am not cruel, only truthful. (Plath 5). The speaker is not talking to one person but is messaging the world, that a mirror will not show what you want. A mirror represents the truth. It doesn t hide what is shown but embraces the person looking into the mirror, that whoever is looking in, is born this way, and should not stray from it. Mirror is a free verse type of poem, which doesn t block the poem from conveying the meaning of the poem. The poem is broken down into two stanzas, both consisting of short sentences. Many interesting documents released earlier that year provides a detailed perspective of America s economic policies and actions towards the War on Terror. The U.S. came out with a massive debt that has impacted the nation in several ways, but this leads to a basic question with a complex answer: How did the U.S. War on Terrorism impact the American Debt Crisis? After researching further into the 9/11 attacks, clearly most of the money put into the war was wasted or misspent. Even though it was crucial going after the terrorists, especially since they had taken many lives and were capable to repeating their attack caused fear throughout the nation. It is important to signal out that the U.S. was attacked from a terrorist organization that had their focus on the U.S. for a long time. The impact that this served after 9/11 plays a clear role in defining the results of how these economic policies were taken into action. (Bullock Trombley, 1999, p. 689).
