Climate Change And Resource Scarcity
Climate Change Resource Scarcity
Resources throughout the United States are being exhausted an alarming rate. In fact, 95% of the
original forests in the United States are now gone (DiCaprio).Personally, I think this is a shocking and
eye opening statistic. The statistic really gives you an insight on how much of the natural world
humans have used in order to sustain the lifestyles they currently live. However, people cannot
continue to use natural resources at the current rate because they won t be able to sustain us for the
future. One component that is affecting our resources is climate change. Countries all over the world
are experiencing changes in their climates that have caused droughts and conflicts over natural
resources, such as water and oil. Additionally, a changing climate will cause healthcare systems all
over the world to adapt to treating new diseases (Richardson, et al. 44).
Earth is a planet that has many complex components that work in unison to allow humans and millions
of other species to live on it. Stephen Emmott, author of Ten Billion states, the main components of
the systems are the atmosphere (the air we breathe), hydrosphere (the planet s water), cryosphere (the
ice sheet and glaciers), and the biosphere (the planet s plants and animals (36). Throughout the course
of human history, humans and the Earth have lived in mutual harmony. Humans didn t alter the Earth s
natural systems and cycles, and, as a result, humans have had a fairly

Oprah Winfrey Leadership Analysis
Oprah Winfrey has a way with connecting with people. This leader implements several different
strategies to achieve and gain her success. Therefore, when Oprah was airing her television show, she
would give the audience gifts, such as, prior to Christmas, and give the audience her favorite items
from her Christmas list. Oprah is no stranger of giving because everyone went home with nice and
occasionally expensive gifts like UGG Boots, because Its appears evidential that Oprah plays a vital
role in their spike in company sells and marketing for this company because this is where many
consumers first saw these items, on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah believes and listens to her
followers, because she knew the majority of the latest trends, because Oprah is respected in our
society, she could probably convince anyone to purchase anything that she suggests. Therefore,
consumer power is a major tactic that Oprah implement in her leadership skills. Listening to your
followers is vital because these are the people that up and personal with the items and products.
Therefore, sharing ideas, listening, and receiving feedback is detrimental for any business because it s
important that all followers feel that they are apart of an organization. However, some business leaders
are not willing and open to hear the ideals of the followers and only feel that they are the person that
support majority of the company s decisions and in majority of analogous cases, these people or their

Stereotypes Of Women In Super Mario Brothers And The...
female was a fantastic move forward in the representation of women in video games, up until Metroid
women in video games have never been portrayed as a heroic archetype, much like the animations and
movies of the time this was quite the opposite in fact, before Metroid women in video games were
usually always shown as a negative stereotype such as the aforementioned Damsel in distress or quite
often the Temptress . Prime examples of this in video games are the use of princess in need of rescue
in other Nintendo games such as Peach in Super Mario Brothers and Zelda in the Legend of Zelda
who in contrast are both the objectives to be rescued by their player controlled male heroes Mario and
Link (The Legend of Zelda, 1986) In the subsequent Metroid games that followed developed Samus

With graphics becoming steadily more advanced in video games over the following years much more
realistic 3 D characters could be shown. In 1996 a game called Tomb Raider was released on the
Playstation(ps1) games console. The games protagonist that the player controls is named Lora Croft.
Lora Croft comes off as capable, intelligent and skilled in ranged combat, however Lora is highly
sexualised in her portrayal in the game, shown to have large breasts, thin waist and big lips among
other unrealistic physical attributes (Appendix H) (Tomb Raider, 1996).Lora was designed to be
shown through what s known as the Male Gaze. The Male Gaze is a concept coined by feminist film
critic Laura Mulvey in her 1975 essay entitled Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema (Mulvey, 1975)
,It depicts the way that visual media is tailored to a heterosexual male perspective in that the world is
shown specifically for a male viewer and man is often the dominant character through male gaze
while woman are portrayed as passive. Lora

Frederic Chopin as the Greatest Romantic Composer Essay
In the course of the development of music, many great composers have contributed their brilliance
towards the revolution of music. To be a great composer does not necessarily mean that they have
reached a vast amount of fame. However, it means that their compositions have ingenuity and value.
The melodies they have cleverly created have reached a point of worthiness in the world of music. For
it is the sweet harmonies a composer creates that defines who he is. One of these gifted composers
was Frederic Chopin, born on February 22, 1810 in Zelazowa Wola, Poland. Young Chopin was
already composing by the age of eight and as his musical career developed he became known as a
master of piano composition. Although he was often misunderstood ... Show more content on

With this clever innovation of harmonics, Chopin was highly ranked amongst other composers making
him an even greater influence towards the world of piano playing. Already rising up to becoming a
great icon, Chopin played a major role in the art of composing piano pieces. Chopin created his own
original technique that made his music so ingenious. He composed the Trois Nouvelles Etudes , the
three new studies. These studies showed his various new techniques that later influenced the
keyboard, and music itself (Hueneker 140). Chopin also constructed his own original pieces by
including different genres of music into one composition. For example, he would combine a polonaise
and a mazurka, two different Polish dances, one being slow while the other is lively. Frederic Chopin
also influenced composition with his genius use of the piano. He used the instrument to its fullest
effect to create a beautiful and expressive piece (Politoske, Daniel T.). His creativity was prominently
brought out this way as he was able to produce melody and harmony (Samson 4). As a matter of fact,
Chopin reached fame for his various piano compositions rather than his orchestral pieces (Politoske,
Daniel T.). His arrangements utilized the piano in the most unique way which is why other musicians
and his audiences admired his music. Arthur Rubinstein stated that, ...all possible expressions are
found in his compositions and are all sung by him upon his instrument, (Hueneker 91). Even

Compare And Contrast Rome And Roman Republic
Roman Republic or Roman Empire
Arthur Erickson said that, Ancient Rome was as confident of the immutability of its world and the
continual expansion and improvement of the human lot as we are today . In Rome got two kinds of
government, and there were Roman Empire and Roman Republic. Both of them had different
structures to development on many aspects in Rome such as laws, equality and rights of life s Roman
where Rome wanted a democratic system. Although, it has helped later to now, in that time was a
conflict where it created a war.
Under the Roman Republic, there was a system of balance of power between political and religious
offices, but it was not democracy for all citizens and women excluded. The senators ruled for just one

The Bill Of Rights Of The American Nation
Virginia s document ultimately influenced the Bill of Rights being created for the federation as a
whole, rather than state by state. In December 1791, James Madison introduced the Bill of Rights. The
Founding Father s took to the Magna Carta as a historical precedent, after the Parliament adopted their
own Bill of Rights in 1689. Some of these rights written by the Parliament can be seen in America s
Bill of Rights, such as: due process of law, unlawful imprisonment, and the ban on excessive bail (2*).
The Bill of Rights outlines ten amendments, all which are still the backbone of the American nation.
Throughout the years, many have attempted to alter or completely banish different Amendments, but
they have all held strong after more than two hundred years. The First Amendment protects freedom
of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of press. It also allows the freedom to petition, and
freedom to peacefully assemble (2*). The First Amendment can be seen as the most important;
something almost all American s know as their true right, and it is still put to the test in daily life of
the twenty first century. Protecting one s speech allows freedom of expression, and identity. It gives
American s the opportunity to be individualized, and unique. Freedom of religion has allowed over
three hundred different denominations to be practiced in this country, and the freedom of the press
allows American s to share their stories and opinions with the country. Without

My Interest On Computer Science Essay
Google Essay What sparked your interest in computer science? How did this lead you to major in
computer science and what do you hope to accomplish with your degree? In your answer, please
describe how your experiences have influenced the goals you have for yourself. Every human has a
purpose and every purpose has an ordained path and beginning. My interest in computer science came
to light as soon as I began to walk, talk and think independently. I always had the innate passion and
desire to scrutinize electronic devices even though I was still a child with little understanding. Being a
little kid, my access to computers were constrained, but nonetheless, I made the best out of every
opportunity I had with them. Time flew by like a dove as I suddenly began to grow in wisdom, and
also began to understand what life is all about. Immediately I graduated from high school, I applied
for a 3 month full time computer training before making any preparation for college. Unbeknownst to
me, I was actually on a direct path to discovering my true potential in computer science and
engineering. Financially and physically, it was a burden commuting from my home down to the
computer training center, but the intrinsic passion and desire to get my hands on electronic devices
and to learn more about how computers really work made me overlook the struggle. I did not think
twice while applying for Computer Engineering in the university, as I already had a clear glimpse of

Project #2
Project #2 Conic Sections Conic sections are the various gemetric figures created by the interection of
a plane. They are among the oldest curves in history and is one of the oldest area of study for
mathmaticians. conics were discovered by Menaechmus (c. 375 325 BC), a Greek pupil of Plato and
Exodus. He was trying to solve the famous problem duplicating a cube. Euclid studied them and
Appollonius reinforced and expanded previous results of conics into a book he named Conic Sections.
It is a series of eight books with 487 propositions. He applied his findings to the study of planetary
motion and it was used to advance the development of Greek astronomy. It is because of Appollonius
that the name ellipse, parabola, and hyperbole were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In some cases, the circle is listed as a fourth conic. A circle is really a unique ellipse. Conics have very
unique features. For instance curves can also be defined using a straight line, the directrix, and a point
called the focus. If you measure the distance from the focus to a point on the curve, and
perpendicularly from the directrix to that point. The two distances will always be the same ratio for an
ellipse the ratio is less than 1, for a parabola the ratio is 1, and for a hyperbola the ratio is greater than
1. These ratios are known as the eccentricity, so we can say that any conic section is all points whose
distance to the focus is equal to the eccentricity times the distance to the directrix. A circle has an
eccentricity of zero, an ellipse has an eccentricity between 0 and 1, a parabola has an eccentricity of 1,
and a hyperbola has an eccentricity greater than 1.
Ellipse is known by its focal definition: it s a locus of all points P in the plane the sum of whose
distances from two fixed points F1 and F2, the foci, has a constant value. The Belgian mathematician
G. P. Dandelin in 1822 gave a beautiful proof of a conic section is a finite shape then it is always an
ellipse. First imagine a huge sphere S1 inside a cone. Let the sphere be so big as to not touch the
cutting plane. Assume it touches the cone over the circle k1. Shrink the sphere S1 (suck it into the
cone) until it touches the plane at point F1.

The Brown Wasps Loren Eiseley Summary
There is no better phrase to describe a fond memory than an elusive dream . Something, that no matter
how much you struggle for can never be relived. It sits on the dual pillars of place and time, you may
conquer one but the other will always be there, to cause despair. This was the common struggle
experienced and expressed in The Brown Wasps and Once more at the lake . Throughout his essay,
Loren Eiseley describes different scenarios that he witnessed. All of which have a central theme of
change, not in times, but in the real, physical world. He talks about mice losing their little dream of
living in a burrow made in common earth, a world of seedpods and quiet, of green sheltering leaves in
the dim light among the weed stems and how they are coldly denied even the simplest of yearnings.
Later, he describes how he witnessed the figurative great river at an El in Philadelphia stop. The river
that was the lifeline of hundreds, maybe thousands of pigeons. How the pigeons kept returning lesser

When, much to his surprise, he discovers how the lake in the woods was still the same, how the
bedroom still smelled of lumber, how the girls were still fifteen, as if no years have gone by and the
only thing that changed was the man. That it is his son who sneaks out in the morning to the sweet
outdoors now, who explores the streams, who gazes with childish awe at the thunderstorms, who runs
out in joy and relief to go swimming in the rain. And that it is time to move on and realise that he can t
relive those moments as the figurative right to do so, has moved on to the next generation. That in this
moment he can only be the father, no longer the son. The Brown Wasps has the writer experiencing
sorrow and despair due to a place, that is primary to his being, being non existent and thus, the essay
focuses more on the effects of time on the world around the man, rather than the man

Childhood Memories Essay
When I was a young child I would love to hear my parents tell me that we were going on a trip. I
would be full of excitement, because I knew that we would be going to a place that I had never seen
before. My parents, my brother, and I would pack our luggage and venture out in our small gray
minivan. Three of my most cherished memories in our minivan are when we went to Disney World,
the beach, and the mountains.
When I heard my parents talking about going to Disney World I was so excited. It was a long trip
down to Florida and I could not sit still, because I was so excited. We finally arrived that evening and
decided to stay in a hotel near the theme park. When it was time for bed I could not go to sleep for a

Going to the beach was nothing like going to the lake or swimming pool. The ocean had large waves
that would come crashing into the beach. I was so small that the waves would just throw me around. I
also got to walk down the beach and find different objects that the waves had washed up on shore. I
found seashells that had brilliant colors like the rainbow. I even found a creature that looked like pink
jelly. I picked the creature up with a stick and took it to show my dad. My dad told me that it was a
jellyfish that could sting me, so he made me bury it in the sand. I saw another creature that was gliding
in shallow water. It was dark brown with a long tail and looked like it had wings. It was a horrible
looking creature that I had never seen before. My dad came down to the water to see what I was
looking at. He told me that they were called skates, and they would not hurt me. That was the first
time I saw something living in the ocean besides a fish. My dad then showed me that there were little
creatures called, sand fiddlers, which would wash up when the waves crashed into the shore. We sat
down on the sand so he could show me how to catch them. The sand fiddlers would dig down in the
sand fast as lightning, so we had to dig for them fast as we could. When I caught one it felt like it was
trying to dig into your hand with what seemed like a million legs. After about four hours I was
exhausted and starving. I

The Medieval Era
Tyler Sun December 14, 2014 Prof. Sparks HUMN 220 Chartres Cathedral The Medieval Era was one
with explosive cultural and architectural growth across almost all of Europe. One of the places that
experienced this the most was in France. With all of the radical changes happening in France, there
was a huge emphasis on religion and as a result the Chartres Cathedral was created. The town of
Chartres officially became a bishopric in the 4th century, and as with any bishopric the cathedral was
the most awesome and large building in the city. Everything was built around this massive cathedral;
the local shops, fairs, and other commodities of city life. Not only was this building a testament to the
creative ability of the architects, it was a location for holy pilgrimage. According to tradition, Chartres
Cathedral has housed the tunic of the Virgin Mary since 876. The relic was said to have been given to
the cathedral by Charlemagne, who received it as a gift during a trip to Jerusalem. Because of this
relic, Chartres has been a very important pilgrimage center and the faithful still come from all over the
world over to honor it. The present cathedral is one of several French Gothic masterpieces built
because fire had destroyed its predecessors. The town itself was already a destination for holy
pilgrimages, however on a significantly smaller scale pre production. Before the Chartres Cathedral
was built and the tunic of the Virgin Mary was placed there, it was believed that there

Cultural Differences Between Brazil And Brazil Essay
Culture
Religion
Not only did the Portuguese influence Brazil about languages, but also religion. The Portuguese
brought over their religion which was Roman Catholic. About 64% of the population ascribes to the
Roman Catholic faith. Other religions in Brazil included: other Catholic religions, Protestant,
Christians, Spiritism, and others. Only 8% of the population ascribe to no religion of any kind (Central
Intelligence Agency, n.d.).
Diversity
Brazil has a rich culture with a unique blend of cultural variations. Brazil is even seen as one of the
world s most varied and diverse countries. There is a mixture of Indian, African, and European blood.
There are currently more than 190 million people in Brazil. Half of the population is white, while 40%
are mixed black and white. About 10% are black.
Crime often haunts the country of Brazil. Brazil has several issues with crime. Some of the most
common crimes include muggings, robbing, kidnappings, and gang violence. Another serious problem
is the corruption in the law enforcement divisions. Many people will not report any incidents to the
police because of fear ( Brazil, n.d.).
Cultural Variations
The Brazilian have a class system, where discrimination of skin color occurs daily. Those with darker
skin are typically disadvantaged. Class is also determined by economic status. Those in the middle and
upper classes often have little to no contact with the lower classes. The richest 10% of Brazilians have

The Breakdown Of The Basic Nature Of Chinese Poetry
The breakdown of the basic nature of Chinese and English lyrical relations shows that they can be
distinguished from one another through the use of metaphor to evoke the relationship between scene
and feeling and vehicle and tenor respectively. The Western poetry s use of metaphor celebrates the
use of human deception through a made up connection between that which is being talked about
(tenor) and the one who talks about it (vehicle). On the other hand, the Chinese poetry s relies on the
metaphor to come up with the context of scene and feeling which involves the appreciation of the
dynamic lyrical resonance between nature and the human being. Moreover, while the Western practice
engages in purposeful process of conveyance to formulate such explicit correspondence between tenor
and vehicle, the Chinese tradition is set apart by the spontaneous encounter that evokes the implicit
correspondence between scene and feeling. This paper therefore looks into the use of scene and
feeling in Chinese poetry and tenor and vehicle in Western poetry in relation to the metaphor with an
effort to highlight their differences and application.
Scene and Feeling relationship
The term scene basically portrays the physical context that is described in the poem. This physical
context usually entails descriptions of rivers, mountains, vegetation, and animal life among others
(Yanfang 186). When it comes to Chinese poetry, the portrayal of nature is a key element. However,
this inclusion of

Canadian Shield Pros And Cons
Promotional Pitch for Canadian Mining Association
Introduction
The Canadian Shield is is arguably the best place to hold the annual Canadian Mining Association
Summit as it s considered one of the richest areas of mineral ores in the world, making it great for
future mining opportunities. This provides thousands of jobs for people looking to get into this
industry as truck drivers, miners, geologists, analysts, etc.
Types of Landforms
The Canadian Shield is a landform region that covers 8,000,000 km2, 4/5th Canada s total landmass.
It s quite an old region, dating back 2.5 to 4.2 billion years, when the tectonic plate movement created
a mountain range so large, it rivals the Himalayas of today. (Erin James Abra Jamie Bastedo, 2006)

The humid continental climate allows the vast amount of coniferous trees to grow, but is certainly not
limited to only coniferous trees. Ash, Birch, Aspen, Hemlock trees all grow in the Canadian Shield
region, forming the massive forest that covers a majority of the Canadian Shield. (Erin James Abra
Jamie Bastedo, 2006) This region is tough on the trees however, because of the short growing season,
many of the trees are skinny. ( Welcome,Tourists , n.d)
Wildlife The wildlife of the Canadian Shield region is very diverse, with many different species of
bears, birds, wolves, insects or fish living in the massive forests.(Kate, Navneet Simone, n.d) The
wide diversity is because of the abundance of food, shelter, and water the Canadian shield has. The
many lakes and rivers that present in the region provide a nearly unlimited supply of fresh water and
the trees provide shelter for the millions of small insects and animals. The larger animals would prey
on these smaller animals, or graze on the vegetation. Without the sustainability of the Canadian

The first manufactured portable music player The Walkman. In July 1979, Sony brought music from
traditional speakers and household radios to a portable cassette tape player The Walkman. At that time,
music was not considered being personal or private but rather being shared among a group of people,
journalists doubted that anyone would want to buy a tape player without a record function just because
it was handy. However, the first batch completely sold out at the end of August and the demand of the
Walkman continued to rise dramatically afterwards, copious new models of the Walkman were
released, and by the time of 1995, the total number of productions of the Walkman had reached 150
million (Johnson, 2011). These results demonstrate that the Walkman was a gadget that earned the

people focus most of their time on these gadgets and somehow become tied to them, these gadgets

headphones and portability of new products reduced people s interaction with each other and it
became harder for people to know each other in depth. Even in crowded environments, people seemed
to be in their own world, it was not surprising that there are criticisms on how the Walkman made
people anti social (Wagstaff, 2010). Therefore, the Walkman s greatest influence was not the product

Caribbean, and 30 times more likely to suffer from a disaster than someone living in North America or
Europe (ESCAP: 2013). If history is any indicator of what the future has in store, the area will
continue to suffer natural disasters at a pace that far surpasses that of anywhere else in the world. The
strategic, economic and humanitarian impact of such disasters are devastating and improving our
ability to respond and prevent such massive loss of life and destruction is something that is well worth
continued effort. The region has certainly come a long way in improving its capabilities, but in the
way ahead we must continue to train and plan together to reduce the impact of future inevitable

Bigger Thomas, of Native Son and Tupac Shakur Essay
Negro writers must accept the nationalist implications of their lives, not in order to encourage them,
but in order to change and transcend them. They must accept the concept of nationalism because, in
order to transcend it, they must posses and understand it.
Richard Wright
In 1996, famed rapper and entertainer Tupac Shakur[1] was gunned down in Las Vegas. Journalistic
sentiment at the time suggested he deserved the brutal death. The New York Times headline, Rap
Performer Who Personified Violence, Dies, suggested Shakur, who was twenty five when he died,
deserved his untimely death. (Pareles, 1996) A product of a fatherless home, raised poor in the ghettos
of San Francisco, Shakur, notes Ernest Harding of the L.A. Weekly, ... Show more content on

A victim of the same impoverished environment as Shakur, Bigger personifies violence in the form of
the real murders of Mary Dalton and Bessie, unlike Shakur who only talks and sings of murder. In
Native Son, Wright, for better or for worse, presents his readers with an entity in Bigger Thomas who
achieves self realization only after murder, and this characterization suggests violence presents a kind
of road which winds down into self consciousness and self awareness, a road many African
Americans, most notably gangster rappers, cannot help but continue to travel on today.
While one can argue that violence in African American culture owes its origins to the days of
slavery, I would contend that violence and the reaction to fear(s) is what constitutes

My Goals And Goals Essay On Life Goals

Life Goals
Goals are important because goals open a path to where a person is going and wants to achieve in life.
Also, goals can help a person to stay focus on things that I want to have in the future. A goal to get an
education is essential in life for it can lead to a prosperous future. To have a secure life after college, I
will need to get a stable job. Being part of a community, I would want to send awareness to the young
adults on doing the right things. The goals I want to achieve are to earn a college degree that I am
happy to have, have a job that will help me get the life that I want, and to help young adults to make
the right decisions.
My primary goal is to earn a degree that I am happy to have. The degree that I would want to have is
bachelor s in computer science because ever since I was a kid, I have always admired computers.
Growing up I have been more attached to computers, and I am inspired to know more about
computers such as how to solve technical problems or create applications for better efficiency.

A degree in computer science would make me happy because I have always loved computers. A job
that can grant me the things that I want and need. Being able to help young adults make the right
decisions are just as important because it can lead to a brighter future. Knowing what I want to
achieve gives me assurance in life, but I can only accomplish it if I work hard for it. Goals are a path
to accomplishing dreams that person desires to have. I believe that anyone can achieve their goals by
being positive through good or bad times, sacrificing something for better future, changing is also a
part of reaching a person s dream. Goals are a reminder to everyone on what they must

Sears Case Study Solution
Sears is facing a huge problem when it comes to making profits anymore and they are continuing to
shut down stores. They have already shut down over 100 locations due to them not being as successful
as they used to be. They also have a failed stock, drained all their resources, and they are loaded with
debt. This company is not able to pull through and make profits anymore because their CEO is not
capable of making changes to the company to bring it out of it. He sees that the company is not as
presentable as it used to be and it does not have the same appeal. People are not going to want to go to
a store where it does not have anything to offer anymore. How can sears become profitable again if
they are in such debt and trouble with stocks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As we can see Sears owns different companies/products within its business. Another strength is that
this company has many employees because it has so many different locations around the U.S. By
having lots of locations you are going to have many employees, which is great. In one article I read I
was able to see some of the weaknesses. As stated, Sears Holdings spent $5.8 billion buying back
shares from 2005 to 2010, draining the company s capital. Now, it has a major cash flow problem
(Rittenhouse, 2017). This shows that this company has to buy back it shares because if it does not they
will lose more money than they are even producing. Another weakness that I read was, From allegedly
rude employees to poor customer service, even loyal customers have lost trust in the company
(Rittenhouse, 2017). As we can see they have poor employees and service, which takes away from the
business because people rather not go to a place like that. This becomes a major threat because when
you have other stores like Amazon, Wal Mart, Costco, where there are all the same products sold and
maybe even at better prices, people are going to want to go to there. These other major stores
definitely attract people because they have low prices and keep up with people s demands. Wal Mart is
even known to match competitors prices and Amazon usually always offers free shipping and low
prices. When you see other stores that do better you go to them. You choose places where you are

Health And Health Of The World Health Organization Essay
The definition of health according to the World Health Organization is: a state of complete physical,
mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity . It is the goal of
health psychologists to identify and understand what determines physical, mental, and social well
being. Rather than focusing on mental illness, it focuses on physical health. The aim of health
psychology is to promote and maintain health, prevent and treat illness, identify and diagnose the
correlation between health, illness, and dysfunction, and to improve the health care system and the
formation of health policies (Graham, 131).
Personal Interest
The field of health psychology interests me because I have personally seen the effects that
psychological processes have on a person s health and well being. I was a caregiver to a family
member with a chronic health issue called Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome. I witnessed how stress,
negative thinking, and lack of social contact intensified their condition. Their physical health
drastically declined when their mental and emotional health was in a negative place. I noticed how
their depression compounded their pain, and in return, the pain exacerbated their depression. It was a
on going vicious cycle. On the contrary, when they practiced stress relief methods, focused on the
positive things in life, their health improved immensely. Their symptoms improved and they were able
to tolerate their constant and chronic pain

Essay about Revolutionized Relationship
One of the major problems associated with a bilingual country, inevitably, is national unity. In Canada,
national unity usually refers to the relations between both the French and English Canadians. English
French relations have always been unstable, ever since the English conquest on the French in the late
1800s. In the twentieth century, this link was further depreciated primarily because of conscriptions
during the First and Second World War along with the Quiet Revolution and the October Crisis.
Conscription during the First and Second World War was one of the initial major causes that began the
deterioration of French English relations largely because the French had no desire to go to war. The

The recruiting effort in Quebec had failed horribly, so Canada resulted in conscription, which was
their only unused option that promised more success in recruiting French English volunteers. French
Canadians felt that they had no particular loyalty to either Britain or France, and because of this,
almost all of them apposed conscription. In 1917 a crisis arose know as the Conscription Crisis. It
triggered a substantial gap along ethnic lines among Francophones and Anglophones. After the
English Canadians visited Britain in May for a meeting of First Ministers in 1917, it was announced
by Borden that a Military Service Act was going to be introduced. The Act was passed on August
29th, 1917, allowing Borden to conscript men at his on will if he felt that it necessary. The act was
enforced in 1918 on the 1st of January. Because of this, 404,385 men liable for military served,
385,510 of which sought exemption. Anti war French Canadians set off a violent riot in 1918 from
March 28th to April 1st. Around fifteen thousand rioters ransacked the conscription registration, and
even two newspapers that were pro conscription in Quebec City. The violence continued on Easter
Monday; it was the one of the bloodiest conflicts. Rioters were armed and began to fire at troops from
hidden positions, and as a result, the soldiers fired back to defend themselves after they were ordered

Lethal Injection Of Capital Punishment In The United States

Capital Punishment is usually reserved for the country s most vicious and non rehabilitatable
murderers. These men and women actually will know the day they die; albeit not naturally. These
Inmates will be put to death by a U.S. state, the federal government, or the U.S. military. The most
common method of execution is lethal injection. Lethal injection is used in some states in conjunction
with the less popular hanging, electrocution, lethal gas, and shooting squad methods. But, in recent
times these antiquated methods are used as a backup in case of shortage of the drugs required for
lethal injection. Large pharmaceutical companies, such as Pfizer, have no longer been selling their

Fidel Lopez Research Paper
The most meaningful insight I was able to take from the inspiring story of Fidel Lopez was his
compassionate perspective toward life and people. He did not lose focus of his main goal in life and
saw people in the same way even after his traumatizing experience. I admire his way of life and feel
that more of us today should keep the words of Fidel Lopez in mind and that is, that good and bad
people come in all colors. It would make a big difference if people today would keep that in mind with
the same problem we had twenty years ago still affecting us today. For instance, the problem of
judging people based on the color of their skin or race has gotten many police officers into trouble.

trying to decide what is worse for the United States of America; being too involved in the affairs of

that evil can be contained, but we cannot be the babysitter of other nations. I completely understand
that in order for America to be safe that we have to watch closely countries that may pose a threat to

I Am An Outsider Looking At The Organization As An Insider
I am an outsider looking at the organization as an insider due to commanding one of the battalions in
4th ABCT. This strength is also a weakness that can lure me into a false sense of comfort in a time
where action is desperately needs. Since my departure the unit has conducted a deployment to
Afghanistan and is in the final stage of the reintegration. My brigade is suffering from a lack of
mission commitment as a result of several different missions and minimal leadership involvement. In
developing a new path for the 4th ABCT the key is to examine the problem, then develop a new
vision, and finally use the Kotter s 8 Stage Model to anchor lasting improvement to the organization.
This situation presents an opportunity to my command to customize the unit to meet its challenges in
the future. Problems in a unit returning from deployment are nothing new, but the 4th ABCT is going
down a dangerous path if the situation is not course corrected. At the heart of the problem the unit is
suffering from a lack of mission commitment as a result of several different missions and minimal
leadership involvement. While deployed my new unit trained for one mission and then was divided up
once in country to carry out several missions to include a Security Force Advisor Team. Soldiers
trained on one set of task then were utilized completely differently. The unit feels betrayed by the
Army s last minute decision to align the unit towards this new mission only hurting commitment

The Common Type Of Dementia
Alzheimer is the most common type of dementia that refers to problems with memory, thinking and
behavior typically among people aged 65 and older (Alzheimer s Association.) Dementia is caused by
damage to nerve sells in the brain and as a result, neurons can no long function normally and may die.
In Alzheimer s disease, the impairment of the neurons eventually damages one s ability to carry out
basic everyday activities such as walking and eating. According to the Alzheimer s Research
Foundation, physical exercise can reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer s by up to 50 percent. After
developing cognitive problems, regular exercise will help to slow further deterioration. For example,
someone that has developed symptoms should take the stairs instead of the elevators as a way to add
more movement into their day. It is imperative to acknowledge symptoms of Alzheimer s disease
sooner rather than later so that a health provider can recommend proper treatment options. These
symptoms develop over time and gradually worsen over the years. At the most moderate stage of
someone with Alzheimer s, a common sign is gradual memory loss and confusion. Someone in the
moderate stage may also have difficulty doing things that have multiple steps such as getting dressed
in the morning. As time progresses, the person in its final stages of the disease are unable to leave their
bed and eventually need around the clock assistance. Signs of severe Alzheimer s disease also include

Case Study Of Clariant International Limited
Executive Summary
Clariant International Limited is a Swiss chemical company formed in 1995. Through the acquisition
of other chemical companies such as Hoechst and Sud Chemie, Clariant has established itself as one
of the world s leading specialty chemical companies. Clariant is involved in multiple markets,
including, but not limited to, consumer care, biotechnology and industrial applications. Clariant is split
into 6 separate global divisions, which contain, in total, 19 different businesses.
The purpose of this case study is to answer the questions; what the cost to implement each of the
strategic options facing Clariant Corporation? What revenue growth is necessary to break even and to
maintain or improve profitability? And what non financial criteria might be used to evaluate strategic
options
Clariant faces issues with its marketing departments structure. The current model is hampering
Clariant. We have found that a change in structure is required to deal with the issue. The theory used

Compare with me ye women if you can.
In this verse the poet seems boastful of her relationship; she calls out to women in a bragging manner.
She sees her love as rare, personal. Something that very few other couples share.
To Anne Bradstreet, her husband is exactly what he should be; the love of her life. Over and over she
expresses her devotion to him with a repetition pf images; an example of such images is evident in the
following:
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold.
Or all the riches that the east doth hold.
My love is such that rivers cannot quench,
In here she states that the love to her husband is much more precious than gold and all the riches of the
east. She would also accept nothing in return for the love that she and her husband share and that no
power would be able to destroy it, her love to her husband is indestructible and eternal.
Nor ought but love from thee recompense

by deciding to live in the corridor, with his white roommate. (Thomas 117, Foskett 99 102) Thomas

Thomas began working in President Reagan s administration. Thomas was a rarity in Washington. In

For eight years Thomas served on the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee under Ronald

around my arm and then, like a balloon, immediately deflate. The plastic tip of the thermometer filled
my ear with a beeping sound as it digitally displayed my temperature. The gauze, drowned in
disinfectant, swam laps across my cheek. The blood had coagulated and the gash exposed itself in all
of its glory. Nearly three inches long, it felt as though my entire face was ripped open.
Paramedics listened intently to my mom as she described the horrific details. What started out as a
beautiful day at the beach was now an evening

Persuasive Research Papers On Immigration
By changing the way the United States accepts non us citizens, our new president in a sense is creating
a standard for our country. That the country should choose immigrants based on merit, skill, and
proficiency. Having the standard for our country is great because we would only have the best enter,
slowing the nation s massive demographic change. Within a few years immigration is set to break all
historical records and our President is trying to keep immigration levels with the norms. (Hing, 2017)
School districts in Arizona are segregated for not knowing English and it is hurting them socially and
academically. The EDL students that take those 4 hour classes to learn English may or may not be
legal in the country but having them shunned in public schools is not acceptable. The EDL students do
not talk to English speaking students, so there is no room for improvement. Our President Donald
Trump wants to put a standard on the incoming immigrants based on their skill set. And with new
bilingual programs in places like Spain and India, incoming immigrants may actually stand up to the
new standard implicated by the president. Many citizen born children are facing the experience of
parental deportation. The immediate consequences of losing a parent through deportation is change in
family income, social services, public health and childcare. But what are some consequences that are
not immediate? Mental health issues as citizen born are subjected to parental deportation suffer

The Wadsworth Athenaeum Of Art
The Wadsworth Athenaeum of Art has been in existence since 1842. Located in Hartford, Connecticut,
it is the nation s oldest public art museum. The founder, Daniel Wadsworth, was a world renowned art
patron who acquired many famous works that would put his museum at the forefront of all its
competitors. The museum has a impeccable reputation as a leader for innovation and experimentation
due to its previous Director, A. Everett Chick Austin, Jr. Austin always pushed the envelop by
continuing to feature new styles of art and different mediums of art. Currently, the museum is home to
almost 50,000 pieces that vary from paintings to historical artifacts. The collection features pieces
from over 5,000 years and is a big piece of not only Connecticut s, but also a part of American history.
The museum has many different collections but the one I was most impressed by its extensive
collection of American Art that features paintings from the Hudson River School, Georgia O Keefe,
and Norma Rockwell, but also sculptures by other famous artist. During High School, I took an
Environmental Science course that did not only cover the scientific aspects of the subject, but also the
how the environment has been immortalized. We studied the Hudson River School and artist like
Thomas Cole, Frederic Edwin Church, and Albert Bierstadt, whose works all featured the many
environmental landscapes in their works. The Wadsworth has one of the largest collections of the
Hudson River Schools

AAnalysis of Jack London Novels
A literary Analysis of Jack London three most recognized works, Sea Wolf; The Call of the Wild; and
White Fang.
Jack London lived a full life, even though he died at the young age of forty. In his life time he
experienced many things, and I believe that these experiences were the catalyst of his novels. Jack
London was an oyster pirate, a government patrolman in San Francisco Bay, a sailor and an agrarian
reformer, a seal hunter in the North Pacific and a gold prospector in the frozen Klondike, a war
correspondent and a prizefighting reporter, a socialist soapbox orator who later became a lecturer at
universities, a family man and landowner, and of course a true American writer. A critic by the name
of Alfred Kazin once said ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following the success of The Call of the Wild, London decided to write a complementary work the
story of a dog taken out of the wild to become part of civilization.
Thus, White Fang was created. White Fang is about wolf who s mother goes into a tribe of Indians
because food is scarce. The cub ( White Fang) is taken in by a tribe but at the same time rejected by
his mother. This is the first step in his hard upbringing. He is not friend to all of the other Indian dogs
and even the Indians. He leaves camp with his master. He is sold to a new owner. This new owner is
mean to the dog and does not let him live a desired life. This new owner makes white fang a fighting
dog. The wolf is the champ of the region until he fights a small bull dog. White Fang tore wildly
around, trying to shake off the bulldog s body (p. 167)He almost dies but the fight is broken up and
white fang is rescued by a good man by the name of Weedon Scott. White Fang loves his new master
and this is the first time he has experienced love for anything. Scott eventually has to go home to
California and is about to leave White Fang. White Fang was howling as dogs howl when their
masters lie dead (p. 186) White Fang did not want this to happen so he ran as fast as possible to the
ferry and just made it. Scott goes back to California and White Fang lives there happily ever

Comparing The Painting Dante And The Three Kingdoms
The painting Dante and the Three Kingdoms by Domenico di Michelino corresponds to the three
world of the Christian afterlife in Dante s Divine Comedy . Dante stands in red robed colossus in front
of the city of Florence. Behind him, the art shows the three worlds of Christian afterlife, which are the
heavenly paradise, hell, and Mount Purgatory, thereby revealing the celestial spheres. The painting
dates back to around 1465. On the left side, it shows the sinners getting down to hell and souls appear
being burnt by the hellfire. Dante says does as they walked inside hell, he noticed famous people, who
were great but still went to hell.
The first circle is limbo whereby those who never got baptized get punished. The second ring is where

Each terrace symbolize a different kind of sin. One has to pass through all the levels to make sure that
the sins are cleansed so as to get to heaven. On top of Purgatory there is the moon, which according to
the artist, represents the heavenly paradise. I also, shows Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden,
representing the earthly paradise. The seventh terrace is immediately at the top; it faces flames and
strong winds from below. The level represents the lustfulness. Some of the sinners appear to move in
the fire with the guilt of going against the marriage virtues, while others are motionless, depicting the
lust. The sixth terrace represents the gluttony the sin of overeating. There is an apple tree in the center
of the terrace and a steam that flows on top of the tree from the mountain. The sinners appear starved
due to the aroma of the apple, and they cannot help the scent of the ripe apples and the wate. They
have to feed on them only to make them hungrier.
The fifth terrace show people lying on the ground with their faces looking down. It shows that they
repenting from the sins of involving themselves in earthy things. Dante on his way felt the trembling
of Mount Purgatory, a sign of sinner being released from the burden of their sins, and this brought
about praising by everyone. This level represents the sin of extreme greed, and it is believed to possess
the worst punishment. On the

In fact, 95% of the original forests in the United States are now gone (DiCaprio).Personally, I think this is a shocking and eye opening statistic. The statistic really gives you an insight on how much of the natural world humans have used in order to sustain the lifestyles they currently live. However, people cannot continue to use natural resources at the current rate because they won t be able to sustain us for the future. One component that is affecting our resources is climate change. Countries all over the world are experiencing changes in their climates that have caused droughts and conflicts over natural resources, such as water and oil. Additionally, a changing climate will cause healthcare systems all over the world to adapt to treating new diseases (Richardson, et al. 44). Earth is a planet that has many complex components that work in unison to allow humans and millions of other species to live on it. Stephen Emmott, author of Ten Billion states, the main components of the systems are the atmosphere (the air we breathe), hydrosphere (the planet s water), cryosphere (the ice sheet and glaciers), and the biosphere (the planet s plants and animals (36). Throughout the course of human history, humans and the Earth have lived in mutual harmony. Humans didn t alter the Earth s natural systems and cycles, and, as a result, humans have had a fairly ... • 3. Oprah Winfrey Leadership Analysis Oprah Winfrey has a way with connecting with people. This leader implements several different strategies to achieve and gain her success. Therefore, when Oprah was airing her television show, she would give the audience gifts, such as, prior to Christmas, and give the audience her favorite items from her Christmas list. Oprah is no stranger of giving because everyone went home with nice and occasionally expensive gifts like UGG Boots, because Its appears evidential that Oprah plays a vital role in their spike in company sells and marketing for this company because this is where many consumers first saw these items, on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah believes and listens to her followers, because she knew the majority of the latest trends, because Oprah is respected in our society, she could probably convince anyone to purchase anything that she suggests. Therefore, consumer power is a major tactic that Oprah implement in her leadership skills. Listening to your followers is vital because these are the people that up and personal with the items and products. Therefore, sharing ideas, listening, and receiving feedback is detrimental for any business because it s important that all followers feel that they are apart of an organization. • 5. Frederic Chopin as the Greatest Romantic Composer Essay In the course of the development of music, many great composers have contributed their brilliance towards the revolution of music. To be a great composer does not necessarily mean that they have reached a vast amount of fame. However, it means that their compositions have ingenuity and value. The melodies they have cleverly created have reached a point of worthiness in the world of music. For it is the sweet harmonies a composer creates that defines who he is. One of these gifted composers was Frederic Chopin, born on February 22, 1810 in Zelazowa Wola, Poland. Young Chopin was already composing by the age of eight and as his musical career developed he became known as a master of piano composition. Although he was often misunderstood ... With this clever innovation of harmonics, Chopin was highly ranked amongst other composers making him an even greater influence towards the world of piano playing. Already rising up to becoming a great icon, Chopin played a major role in the art of composing piano pieces. Chopin created his own original technique that made his music so ingenious. He composed the Trois Nouvelles Etudes , the three new studies. These studies showed his various new techniques that later influenced the keyboard, and music itself (Hueneker 140). Chopin also constructed his own original pieces by including different genres of music into one composition. For example, he would combine a polonaise and a mazurka, two different Polish dances, one being slow while the other is lively. Frederic Chopin also influenced composition with his genius use of the piano. He used the instrument to its fullest effect to create a beautiful and expressive piece (Politoske, Daniel T.). His creativity was prominently brought out this way as he was able to produce melody and harmony (Samson 4). As a matter of fact, Chopin reached fame for his various piano compositions rather than his orchestral pieces (Politoske, Daniel T.). His arrangements utilized the piano in the most unique way which is why other musicians and his audiences admired his music. Arthur Rubinstein stated that, ...all possible expressions are found in his compositions and are all sung by him upon his instrument, (Hueneker 91). Even ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In December 1791, James Madison introduced the Bill of Rights. The Founding Father s took to the Magna Carta as a historical precedent, after the Parliament adopted their own Bill of Rights in 1689. Some of these rights written by the Parliament can be seen in America s Bill of Rights, such as: due process of law, unlawful imprisonment, and the ban on excessive bail (2*). The Bill of Rights outlines ten amendments, all which are still the backbone of the American nation. Throughout the years, many have attempted to alter or completely banish different Amendments, but they have all held strong after more than two hundred years. The First Amendment protects freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of press. It also allows the freedom to petition, and freedom to peacefully assemble (2*). The First Amendment can be seen as the most important; something almost all American s know as their true right, and it is still put to the test in daily life of the twenty first century. He was trying to solve the famous problem duplicating a cube. Euclid studied them and Appollonius reinforced and expanded previous results of conics into a book he named Conic Sections. A circle is really a unique ellipse. Conics have very unique features. For instance curves can also be defined using a straight line, the directrix, and a point called the focus. If you measure the distance from the focus to a point on the curve, and perpendicularly from the directrix to that point. The two distances will always be the same ratio for an ellipse the ratio is less than 1, for a parabola the ratio is 1, and for a hyperbola the ratio is greater than 1. These ratios are known as the eccentricity, so we can say that any conic section is all points whose distance to the focus is equal to the eccentricity times the distance to the directrix. A circle has an eccentricity of zero, an ellipse has an eccentricity between 0 and 1, a parabola has an eccentricity of 1, and a hyperbola has an eccentricity greater than 1. Ellipse is known by its focal definition: it s a locus of all points P in the plane the sum of whose distances from two fixed points F1 and F2, the foci, has a constant value. The Belgian mathematician G. P. Dandelin in 1822 gave a beautiful proof of a conic section is a finite shape then it is always an ellipse. First imagine a huge sphere S1 inside a cone. It sits on the dual pillars of place and time, you may conquer one but the other will always be there, to cause despair. This was the common struggle experienced and expressed in The Brown Wasps and Once more at the lake . Throughout his essay, Loren Eiseley describes different scenarios that he witnessed. All of which have a central theme of change, not in times, but in the real, physical world. He talks about mice losing their little dream of living in a burrow made in common earth, a world of seedpods and quiet, of green sheltering leaves in the dim light among the weed stems and how they are coldly denied even the simplest of yearnings. One of the places that experienced this the most was in France. With all of the radical changes happening in France, there was a huge emphasis on religion and as a result the Chartres Cathedral was created. The town of Chartres officially became a bishopric in the 4th century, and as with any bishopric the cathedral was the most awesome and large building in the city. Everything was built around this massive cathedral; the local shops, fairs, and other commodities of city life. Not only was this building a testament to the creative ability of the architects, it was a location for holy pilgrimage. According to tradition, Chartres Cathedral has housed the tunic of the Virgin Mary since 876. The relic was said to have been given to the cathedral by Charlemagne, who received it as a gift during a trip to Jerusalem. Because of this relic, Chartres has been a very important pilgrimage center and the faithful still come from all over the world over to honor it. The present cathedral is one of several French Gothic masterpieces built because fire had destroyed its predecessors. • 15. The Breakdown Of The Basic Nature Of Chinese Poetry The breakdown of the basic nature of Chinese and English lyrical relations shows that they can be distinguished from one another through the use of metaphor to evoke the relationship between scene and feeling and vehicle and tenor respectively. The Western poetry s use of metaphor celebrates the use of human deception through a made up connection between that which is being talked about (tenor) and the one who talks about it (vehicle). On the other hand, the Chinese poetry s relies on the metaphor to come up with the context of scene and feeling which involves the appreciation of the dynamic lyrical resonance between nature and the human being. Moreover, while the Western practice engages in purposeful process of conveyance to formulate such explicit correspondence between tenor and vehicle, the Chinese tradition is set apart by the spontaneous encounter that evokes the implicit correspondence between scene and feeling. This paper therefore looks into the use of scene and feeling in Chinese poetry and tenor and vehicle in Western poetry in relation to the metaphor with an effort to highlight their differences and application. Scene and Feeling relationship The term scene basically portrays the physical context that is described in the poem. This physical context usually entails descriptions of rivers, mountains, vegetation, and animal life among others (Yanfang 186). While one can argue that violence in African American culture owes its origins to the days of slavery, I would contend that violence and the reaction to fear(s) is what constitutes ... • 23. My Goals And Goals Essay On Life Goals Pauline Therese Esteba Mr. Elliott English 1013 20 February 2017 Life Goals Goals are important because goals open a path to where a person is going and wants to achieve in life. Also, goals can help a person to stay focus on things that I want to have in the future. A goal to get an education is essential in life for it can lead to a prosperous future. To have a secure life after college, I will need to get a stable job. Being part of a community, I would want to send awareness to the young adults on doing the right things. The goals I want to achieve are to earn a college degree that I am happy to have, have a job that will help me get the life that I want, and to help young adults to make the right decisions. My primary goal is to earn a degree that I am happy to have. The degree that I would want to have is bachelor s in computer science because ever since I was a kid, I have always admired computers. • 24. Sears Case Study Solution Sears is facing a huge problem when it comes to making profits anymore and they are continuing to shut down stores. They have already shut down over 100 locations due to them not being as successful as they used to be. They also have a failed stock, drained all their resources, and they are loaded with debt. This company is not able to pull through and make profits anymore because their CEO is not capable of making changes to the company to bring it out of it. He sees that the company is not as presentable as it used to be and it does not have the same appeal. People are not going to want to go to a store where it does not have anything to offer anymore. As we can see Sears owns different companies/products within its business. Another strength is that this company has many employees because it has so many different locations around the U.S. By having lots of locations you are going to have many employees, which is great. In one article I read I was able to see some of the weaknesses. As stated, Sears Holdings spent $5.8 billion buying back shares from 2005 to 2010, draining the company s capital. Now, it has a major cash flow problem (Rittenhouse, 2017). This shows that this company has to buy back it shares because if it does not they will lose more money than they are even producing. Another weakness that I read was, From allegedly rude employees to poor customer service, even loyal customers have lost trust in the company (Rittenhouse, 2017). As we can see they have poor employees and service, which takes away from the business because people rather not go to a place like that. This becomes a major threat because when you have other stores like Amazon, Wal Mart, Costco, where there are all the same products sold and maybe even at better prices, people are going to want to go to there. These other major stores definitely attract people because they have low prices and keep up with people s demands. Wal Mart is even known to match competitors prices and Amazon usually always offers free shipping and low prices. When you see other stores that do better you go to them. • 25. Health And Health Of The World Health Organization Essay The definition of health according to the World Health Organization is: a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity . It is the goal of health psychologists to identify and understand what determines physical, mental, and social well being. Rather than focusing on mental illness, it focuses on physical health. The aim of health psychology is to promote and maintain health, prevent and treat illness, identify and diagnose the correlation between health, illness, and dysfunction, and to improve the health care system and the formation of health policies (Graham, 131). Personal Interest The field of health psychology interests me because I have personally seen the effects that psychological processes have on a person s health and well being. I was a caregiver to a family member with a chronic health issue called Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome. I witnessed how stress, negative thinking, and lack of social contact intensified their condition. Their physical health drastically declined when their mental and emotional health was in a negative place. I noticed how their depression compounded their pain, and in return, the pain exacerbated their depression. It was a on going vicious cycle. On the contrary, when they practiced stress relief methods, focused on the positive things in life, their health improved immensely. Their symptoms improved and they were able to tolerate their constant and chronic pain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Canada, national unity usually refers to the relations between both the French and English Canadians. English French relations have always been unstable, ever since the English conquest on the French in the late 1800s. In the twentieth century, this link was further depreciated primarily because of conscriptions during the First and Second World War along with the Quiet Revolution and the October Crisis. The recruiting effort in Quebec had failed horribly, so Canada resulted in conscription, which was their only unused option that promised more success in recruiting French English volunteers. French Canadians felt that they had no particular loyalty to either Britain or France, and because of this, almost all of them apposed conscription. In 1917 a crisis arose know as the Conscription Crisis. It triggered a substantial gap along ethnic lines among Francophones and Anglophones. After the English Canadians visited Britain in May for a meeting of First Ministers in 1917, it was announced by Borden that a Military Service Act was going to be introduced. The Act was passed on August 29th, 1917, allowing Borden to conscript men at his on will if he felt that it necessary. The act was enforced in 1918 on the 1st of January. Because of this, 404,385 men liable for military served, 385,510 of which sought exemption. Anti war French Canadians set off a violent riot in 1918 from March 28th to April 1st. Around fifteen thousand rioters ransacked the conscription registration, and even two newspapers that were pro conscription in Quebec City. The violence continued on Easter Monday; it was the one of the bloodiest conflicts. During High School, I took an Environmental Science course that did not only cover the scientific aspects of the subject, but also the how the environment has been immortalized. We studied the Hudson River School and artist like Thomas Cole, Frederic Edwin Church, and Albert Bierstadt, whose works all featured the many environmental landscapes in their works. Behind him, the art shows the three worlds of Christian afterlife, which are the heavenly paradise, hell, and Mount Purgatory, thereby revealing the celestial spheres. The painting dates back to around 1465. On the left side, it shows the sinners getting down to hell and souls appear being burnt by the hellfire. The seventh terrace is immediately at the top; it faces flames and strong winds from below. The level represents the lustfulness. Some of the sinners appear to move in the fire with the guilt of going against the marriage virtues, while others are motionless, depicting the lust. The sixth terrace represents the gluttony the sin of overeating. There is an apple tree in the center of the terrace and a steam that flows on top of the tree from the mountain. The sinners appear starved due to the aroma of the apple, and they cannot help the scent of the ripe apples and the wate. They have to feed on them only to make them hungrier. The fifth terrace show people lying on the ground with their faces looking down. It shows that they repenting from the sins of involving themselves in earthy things.
