The Influence Of Neanderthals
For many years, scientists have studied Neanderthals. Some scientists have led to believe that
Neanderthals play a special role in the genetic makeup of modern day humans. In the article, Ancient
gene flow from early modern humans into Eastern Neanderthals, it says that recently it has been
shown that Neanderthals contributed genetically to modern humans outside Africa 47,0000 65,000
years ago. In this article Neanderthals and Denisovan, (an extinct species of human in the genus homo
Alta) are analyzed from the Altai Mountains in Siberia together with the sequence of chromosome 21
of two Neanderthals from Spain and Croatia. In their research they discovered that a population that
diverged early from other modern humans in Africa have contributed

Analysis Of Good Bye To All That By Joan Didion
In Joan Didion s Good Bye to All That , Didion wrote about a woman s process of pursuing her dream
which was living in New York. Throughout the passage, Didion used many rhetorical devices to
establish the storyline, which enhanced the reader s understanding of the situations. She used many
metaphors to represent the reality of the character s life and what she had hope for. She had also
foreshadowed some of the objects in the story that represented something bigger.
Didion used foreshadowing to create a dramatic traction on the outcomes of the character. The
foreshadowing were not easy to spot or understand. I was late to meet someone but I stopped at
Lexington Avenue and bought a peach and stood on the corner eating it and knew that I had ... Show

The theme is normally the message the author wants the reader to understand and take in. The theme
of the story started with this quote, From my office, I could look across town to the weather signal on
the Mutual of New York Building and the lights that alternately spelled TIME and LIFE above
Rockefeller Plaza; that pleased me obscurely, and so did walking uptown in the mauve eight o clocks
of early summer evenings and looking at things. (Pg. 6) The theme of this story is about time and life.
It took time for the character to finally realize the things she wanted in life. She thought she wanted to
live in New York and settle in. However, her time in New York wasn t the best experience she had
hope for. Her life was a mess, and she wasn t focused on the right things she was suppose to be
focusing on. Seeing the words TIME on Rockefeller Plaza, one of New York s main attraction gave
her hope again. From the beginning she believed that time would help her adapt to New York. When
she first got to New York, she was young. Being young gave her opportunities and time to find jobs
and work her way up. It took time for her to realize all the problems she had been living with. It took
time for her to realize that Los Angeles was a place she enjoyed living in in the future. New York was
a stage of time where she had to discover herself as an individual. The last sentence of the passage
showed that she was happy living in Los Angeles. There were years when I called Los Angeles the
coast, but they seem a long time ago. (Pg. 8) Normally, people living in the east coast would call Los
Angeles the coast, but it was a long time ago since she called Los Angeles the coast. This provides the
reader a hint that she had settled down in Los Angeles and have been living there for a long time. It
took her a long time to discover the life she wanted. New York wasn t the one for her. It only took time
for her to discover what she

Effective Teaching Assistants
ABSTRACT: Based on our long standing Intensive Training Program for Effective Teaching
Assistants in Chemistry, we have developed an Advanced Training Course for Teachers and
Researchers in Chemistry at The University of Chicago. The topics in this course are designed to train
Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) to become excellent teachers and well rounded PhD candidates.
The goals of the course are to build ethics, critical thinking, and a strong self image through the use of
innovative pedagogical tools. Concurrently, the GTAs are transitioned into independent researchers
with the skills to prepare high quality written reports and oral presentations. This course was
successful based on the results of multiple assessments. The experience gained and issues identified
from the course can be used to guide future training courses.

Nevertheless, it is critically important to thoroughly train the next generation of chemistry teachers
and researchers. As addressed in the Graduate Education Commission Report published by the ACS,
integrating career development skills into graduate education is critical to producing exceptional and
employable PhD scientists (1). Proper training and guidance at an early stage in their graduate career
provides effective tools with which to advance their career in teaching and research. Creating a
healthy level of enthusiasm for teaching is also essential from the beginning of graduate school.
These, coupled with high expectations and the tools to succeed, are the best way to train effective

Essay about Marginalization of Women by Salman Ahmed Rushdie
Salman Ahmed Rushdie is an eminent postcolonial diasporic writer of Indian origin. He was born in a
Muslim family in 1947, the year India became free from the clutches of the colonial rule. The novelist
and essayist of international repute, Rushdie, started his writing with the fictional work Grimus
(1975). His second novel Midnights Children (1981) won the Booker s Prize. The text focuses on the
simultaneous independence and partition of the two nations. He came into thick of controversies
because of his novel, The Satanic Verses. (1988). The Muslims considered the novel to be
blasphemous. The publication of the novel led to a wide range of demonstrations and protests

Rushdie gives the description the first imaginary country in which the old man Shakeel lives along
with his three daughters named Chunee, Munee and Bunee in a mansion. The house located in a town
called Q was positioned beside an open maiden, and it was equidistant from the bazaar and the Cantt.
(12) The Old Shakil keeps his daughters alienated from the rest of the world in the old mansion so as
to keep them away from the influence of the white men (colonizers). He closed the mansion to avoid
any interaction with the outside world of colonizers. After the death of their father, the daughters
continue to remain alienated from the world, but as time passes they get rid off their parental
subjugation and get fascinated by the colonizers. They organize a party in which they invite the
members of the white community and the few non white guests local zamindars and their wives. (16).
But the non white guests abandoned the sisters to the colonial authorities. (ibid) The invitation
extended by the Shakil sisters can be termed as sudden infatuation of the three sisters towards the
outside colourful world. Rushdie through the above description has tried to depict the culture of the
Pakistani society which wants the women of Pakistan to be confined to four walls of the house.
Rushdie shows how one of the Shakil sisters becomes pregnant because a sexual act with one of the

Essay on Challenger
On January 26, 1986, one of the greatest disasters of our time occurred. When Challenger was
destroyed many questions were asked about the safety of space missions. Many questions were asked
about the credibility of the engineers who designed the air craft.
It is now know that crucial information about the faulty O rings was know to many if not all of the
engineers. These engineers had many moral decisions they had to face when the problem was first
noticed, which was as early as

it was unsafe to launch at lower temperatures.

Causes Of Celiac Disease
Every day, people are diagnosed with various diseases. Many of these diseases affect different parts of
the body, including but not limited to the stomach, liver, or heart. One disease that affects the stomach
is celiac disease. Celiac disease occurs in the small intestine where it destroys the stomach lining and
causes the stomach to not be able to digest any gluten products: wheat, barley, or rye. A person may
find out one has celiac disease through blood tests and an endoscopy. There is no cure for celiac
disease, and a person will have it for the rest of one s life. The only current treatment that can help is a
strict gluten free diet. However, researchers are working hard to develop a special drug that will help
those with the disease, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A gluten free diet requires one to avoid foods and drinks that contain wheat, barley, and rye. Even
ingesting a small crumb of gluten can damage the intestine again. (What is Celiac Disease, 2) It only
takes about 1/8 of a teaspoon of gluten for a person with celiac disease to have a reaction. Following a
gluten free diet helps relieve the irritation in the small intestine, giving the villi time to heal and repair.
A person can start to feel better after eating gluten free at various rates. It depends how long one has
been undiagnosed with celiac disease. Some people feel better immediately after starting a gluten free
diet, while others take longer. Few people also experience refractory celiac disease, where the body
does not get better after becoming gluten free. But this condition is uncommon. (¬Esposito, Adamson,

The Legal Action For Negligence Against Jimmy Farnham And...
Answer A
The major shareholder might not be successful in the legal action for negligence against Jimmy
Farnham. This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major
shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the contract
between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively clear on the
auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Ó hÓgartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An auditor owes a duty of
care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to negligence on the part of the
auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort (Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). A
claim of liability by a third party to an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had advised the client to assign the review and evaluation of the new database to an independent
contractor. The fact that Jimmy was not familiar with the new system of accounting that the client was
implementing and therefore not involved in the changeover process absolves him and his audit firm
from direct liability. It is also hard to prove that the error in material inventory that resulted from the
changeover was committed when Jimmy was auditing the firm or at the instance of feeding the data
into the system. Admittance to liability is also dependent on whether the auditor had placed
disclaimers of responsibility in the preparation of the audit reports.
The criteria for the determination of the auditor s liability to other parties apart from the clients are as
follows:
The defendant must have reasonably foreseen that the statements would be put to use by the plaintiff
A relevant degree of proximity must exist between the parties involved in the litigation
The imposition of a duty for care by the plaintiff on the defendant must be just and reasonable
(Davies, 1991; ACCA, 2009).
There is no evidence presented in the case above to the effect that the defendant was aware of the
likelihood of the judgements he made being used as a basis to make judgement by the plaintiff. The
plaintiff also has a hard tasks of proving that there was a close proximity between them and

Spousal Relationships in Macbeth and Oedipus the King Essay
In Macbeth, by William Shakesphere, and Oedipus the King by Sophocles, the spousal relationship
between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, and Oedipus and Jocasta, play a major role in the events that
lead to the tragedy. Their love, respect, and determination for each other reveal the nature of the
relationship shared by them.
In Macbeth, the bond between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is strong. For instance, when he first hears
the prophecy from the three weird sisters, he immediately writes to Lady Macbeth informing her about
the prophecies. Further, he addresses her as my dearest partner of greatness, which gives the reader
several views on their relationship. For instance, George Gerwig reports that Lady Macbeth is the
source of his mental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, the strength of their bond can be seen when Macbeth becomes despondent at the news of Lady
Macbeth death. He feels that he has lost all hopes since he had undergone all those evil deeds just for
her.
Just as the bond between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is strong, so does the bond between Oedipus
and Jocasta in Oedipus the King. Oedipus has excessive pride in him and is known for his swift
actions. It is Jocasta who tries to stop him from jumping into decisions without thinking about the
outcome. For instance, when Oedipus accuses Creon and Tiresias for treachery, Jocasta tries to reason
out with Oedipus. She tells him to not to believe in prophecies as they are not true. She narrates to
Oedipus the tale of the prophecy of her son that he would one day kill his own father (Laius). She
further tells him that the prophecy never came true because her son was killed when he was a child
and that Laius was killed by a group of thieves. Similarly, when she comes to know part of the truth of
Oedipus birth, she requests him to stop his search for the truth. She fears that his search for the truth
about his birth and parents, would lead to his own destruction. This shows that

The Stock Market Crash Of 1929, By Brenda Lange
On October 29, 1929, America experienced the most calamitous stock market crash in its history.
Although some tried to prevent the crash from getting worse, the fear and panic that so many
Americans felt, caused them to make a horrible situation even worse. The 1929 stock market crash
affected America in several ways, causing America to go from a time of prosperity, to a time of strife,
leading Americans to lose billions of dollars and also leading to an increase in homelessness and
unemployment rates, leaving America devastated.
Before the market crash, many people were happy and optimistic about the future. Brenda Lange,
author of The Stock Market Crash of 1929, wrote that the time before the crash was a time of
optimism and hope, and the future looked promising. (Lange 12), referring to how people had nothing
to worry about. With a majority of people believing that nothing bad would happen, the small signs of
the future crash went unnoticed, leading to a mass panic when the market first went down, which was
a partial cause of the October 29th crash. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Vertigo and Citizen Kane Are Products of their...
Today s culture sees a gap between the male and female gender. This is evident in everything from the
films we watch, music we listen to, and even in our everyday lives. Historically, this issue has seen an
even larger gap, and can be observed in the films that were made during that time. Vertigo and Citizen
Kane both show the objectification of women by controlling them, writing them in supportive roles,
and placing their value in the way that they look.
In Alfred Hitchcock s Vertigo, made in 1954, a detective falls in love with the woman that he is hired

Kane hires a world class singing instructor, builds an opera house, and writes exaggerating reviews in
his own paper. Even with all of Kane s support, she fails horrible as a singer. Kane refuses to
acknowledge this, and pushes her through her career, to the point that she attempts to take her own
life, rather than continue on. In a future interview with a journalist, she says, I didn t want it. I didn t
want to sing. It was his idea. Everything was his idea... Later in their marriage, Kane finally allows her
to stop singing, though Kane keeps her locked up in his large estate, Xanadu. She constantly begs him
to allow her out, to experience the world, or to talk to other human beings but is always denied. She is
bound to her jigsaw puzzles and is kept inside as if she is one of many in Kane s statue collection. The
level of man s control over women in both films leaves the women with little, in terms of their
involvement with the narrative as the man takes the lead. In Vertigo, Scottie is the lead and drives the
narrative. The women in the film only play supportive roles. The other woman in Scottie s life is
Midge, a friend who he had previously been engaged to. It seems as though Scottie only ever interacts
with her when he is in need of something. After tailing Madeline, Scottie comes to Midge s apartment

Introduction
These two beautiful tree species are both tall street and park trees found in the south eastern suburbs
of Melbourne. One is a very commonly planted native tree which seems to have fallen out of favour
with local Councils in this area (see Appendix A) and the other is a distinctive yet rarely planted exotic
that seems to have done well but is only planted sporadically as an ornamental shade tree. Why? What
conditions and attitudes have changed from when these originally planted? What characteristics and

A Comparison Of Abraham Lincoln And Nathan Bedford Forrest
The Civil War was the most divisive moment in American History, and decided the fate of the Union
forever. It created many of the social and political divides and contrasts in culture that are still seen in
today s world. The war was the eruption that had been brewing since the birth of the United States.
Two of the important figures in the Civil War period are Abraham Lincoln and Nathan Bedford
Forrest. Both were influential in their own respective countries and both were seen as great leaders by
their own countries citizens. If the South won the war, Forrest would have been seen as more of a hero
than he is in the world today. Because the Union won the war, though, the more important figure is
Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was also more influential than Nathan Bedford Forrest because
of his honest character, compassion, and determination. Abe Lincoln was able to win people over
because of his understanding of society. He showed attributes that, at the time, were more caring and
loving than most people. For example, in some of his speeches from Illinois, he took a stance against
slavery. He questioned if slavery was morally and constitutionally right, which was a big risk at the
time. This move won over the liberal citizens in America, but greatly alienated the South, especially
when Abe Lincoln won the election of 1860. His determination was another huge factor to him being a
great influence. Even though he started out not taking the War seriously, which causes the Union to
lose some important battles, these losses are a wake up call for Lincoln, which reinvigorates him to
fight back against the South and win the war, saving the Union and freeing the slaves. This ended up
being his greatest strength, and what decides how he is remembered in history forever. While Lincoln
is more remembered in history, on the other side of the coin is Nathan Bedford Forrest. Even though
he was on the losing side, he was still well respected by people on both sides of the war, unlike
Lincoln who was hated by the South. He went down as a great general and a great tactician in the
Civil War. However, unlike Lincoln, his reputation is blown out of proportion and misinformed by
bias. In the South, he was remembered as a

Sympathy In Truman Capote s In Cold Blood
In Truman Capote s novel based upon non fictional events, In Cold Blood the reader is set up to feel
remorseful for the murderers in the text. The same set of feelings are bestowed upon the viewers in the
movie Capote directed by Bennett Miller. The novel is based around the story of the 1959 Clutter
family murder in the community of Holcomb, Kansas. The film adaptation is more structured around
the life of Truman Capote (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) throughout the time he was creating In Cold
Blood; therefore, more behind the scenes analysis took place even though the film is fictional.
Sympathy drags in the spectator of a text or film much greater than any other emotion. It creates a
personal bond between the characters being depicted and themselves. This bond of sympathy can
become even greater when it is known that the characters being bonded to the spectator are based
upon real people and their events. Sympathy is built by Truman Capote through characterization and
imagery while Bennett Miller builds sympathy through clever screenwriting and casting the correct
personalities. While Dick Hickock (Mark Pellegrino) and Perry Smith (Clifton Collins Jr.) were brutal
murderers, their notoriety brought in so much fear that more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION
Capital market is now playing a strategic role in a country s economic growth. It facilitates the
exchange of funds between company as demander and investor as supplier. The existence of capital
market enables company to obtain an alternative source of fund. On the other hands, it gives flexibility
for investor to choose investment based on their preference. For both company and investor who are
involved in the capital market, understanding about capital market condition becomes matter in order
to understand how the market is actually works. One aspect of capital market conditions that might
become consideration before deciding to invest is the market efficiency. The term of market efficiency,
which is found in the capital market literature, is used to elaborate the relationship between the
information and the share price. In 1970, Fama proposed the Efficient Market Theory and defined
capital market efficiency as the market in which prices fully reflect all available information.

Ki Teitzei Research Paper
Hello and Thank you for coming to my bar mitzvah it means a lot that you are all here. I will be
talking about my torah portion Ki Teitzei which is about the commandments that Moses was giving at
the end of his life. The commandments covered many different topics from cheating to inheritance.
One thing that stood out to me in my torah portion was the commandment about dealing with difficult
children. In the torah it says that if a family has a wayward and defiant son who is bad even after

Why would God want to hurt us? Why would God want parents to kill their own children? It says in
the Mishnah, that if you kill one person, it is as if you are destroying the entire world, and if you save
one person, you are saving the entire world. So commanding parents and communities to kill their
rebellious children is like asking them to destroy the entire world. The rabbis who wrote the Mishnah,
also did not like this commandment. As they explained the details, they made it very specific, so that it
could never actually happen. First they restrict it by age: it only applies from a person s 13th birthday,
until three months after that. So for me, I have two more days until I am safe from being stoned for
being a stubborn and rebellious son. Then they restrict it so that it only applies to sons, and not
daughters. They explain the Torah to mean that the son has to eat meat and wine, no other food or
drink counts. They measure out an outrageous amount of meat and wine he has to eat and drink to be
deemed a glutton and a drunkard. I think that it is wrong to cover up this part of the

Old Time New York City
When people ask me what time century I wish I could live in, it would be the 1950s. Old time New
York. I love everything about the old style, with the retro feel to it. Now we are in the 21st century,
2016 to be exact and we are sadly far away from those years. I mention this because when I think of
the 1950s, I imagine the big signs with the huge letters in the Broadway font, located in New York
City. People traveled to New York to live the American dream, to own a home and be married and
have lovely children. People also traveled to New York City to make something of themselves. To
make themselves worth something. The city gave them this thrive that if they had a person who
believed in them and money, they could do anything imagined. Old time New York is what I miss and
what I love about the past. But, it is these people who really built up New York City to make it what it
is today. I really appreciate New York for all the history it holds.

Olympics Research Paper
One day in 776 B.C. the Greeks decided to honor the God Zeus with competition and sports. In 1894,
the games were resurrected in a modern setting. The olympics have expanded in size, events,
stadiums, and athletes since then. From 12 nations, 206 athletes, 60,000 spectators, and 43 events, to
206 countries 11, 237 athletes, 2.3 billion viewers, and 306 events the olympics have changed greatly.
Since 1896, the changing of the world has influenced the events, places, and arenas in the games.
The history of the Olympics is fascinating and unlike than the current olympics. The modern olympics

At the first modern olympics there were only 43 events, and now there are over 300. This is surprising
because one would never think that the olympics has ever been that small. Also, an astonishing
number of athletes are from California (124 out of 558 from America). The USA has won the most
medals in the summer olympics, a total of 2189. One thing that has not changed is the most viewed
event. It has been track since the first modern olympics. This is very understandable because everyone
enjoys a fast paced event that can change at any time. An article from History.com states, In 1994

The Supernatural And Natural Aspects Of Women In The Old Ages
In olden times, women were mostly seen as possessions or things to be won by men. There simply
wasn t anything better than a beautiful woman, a heap of gold, and the power to control people. If you
wanted a family, you had to have a wife to cook, clean, birth and rear your offspring. Despite the
previous aspects of the old way of life being represented in these myths, they also demonstrate how
sometimes carrying out the plan for a perfect family leaves you utterly alone. In these stories, women
tied to the supernatural and natural elements are shown to be an almost forbidden fruit for men.
Repeatedly, they try to win the maidens through trickery and stealth but the woman eventually escapes
their grasp. This ties in with the purposes behind these myths. Which are to inform others on a specific
way of life, explain rare beauty through supernatural phenomena, to educate on past formalities and to
pass on knowledge to new generations by utilizing storytelling.
The first myth, The Water Maid, is a German tale about a knight who gets lost in Harz Forest and
stumbles upon what he believes to be an inhabited castle. As the story progresses, he discovers that a
lone woman lives there. It was probably strange for him to discover this during this time, due to
women not usually living in the middle of a forest with a house that she alone possessed. The pair
became fast friends and eventually even husband and wife, but on one condition: that she d disappear

The Similarities Between Walden And 42
Jackie Robinson was the first ever African American to ever play in Major League Baseball. This
caused a major change in Major League Baseball history because he was the first one to play in a all
white league. He had to deal with a lot of people being mean to him and trying to hurt him and also
trying to get him to lash out at people so that he could get kicked out of the MLB. This theme can be
seen in the work of Henry David Thoreau. An example of this theme can be seen in the movie 42.
Walden by Henry David Thoreau, and 42 by Brian Helgeland show that hard work and dedication
leads to success in life. This theme is supported by tone, self reliance, and characters perseverance in

A Rose For Emily Grierson Character Changes
In William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily many aspects of theme are discussed and the way he portrays
the themes are different. By using detailed character traits, Faulkner depicts people in the short story A
Rose for Emily. Faulkner is able to show that characters such as Emily Grierson has been dominated
by an abusive father and have no control over the ideas of time or death. Emily is a character who is
crippled with fear, lacking the courage to live because of the control and dominance of her father.
Emily is such a multifaceted character that she could bear extreme segregation and scrutiny. This
extreme segregation and neglect are directly traced to her father and his complete dominance in her

Her appearance reflects the events of the story. Emily s physical appearance changes every time
someone leaves or dies in her life. Her bodies appearance is a physical sign of how even though her
father has passes his abusive attitude is still evident in her life. The title A Rose for Emily gives the
indication that Emily has an issue with time or being in denial about time s progression. Faulkner
writes that the men in attendance to Emily s funeral have confused time with mathematical
progression. He uses a metaphor that time is usually seen as a diminishing road but it is rather a huge
meadow which nothing can touch. The characters that attend Emily s funeral give a major aspect of
what theme Faulkner is depicting. The denial of time or time s progression is linked to her father
crippling Emily through abuse making her unable to be independent, forcing her to live her life under
the utter influence and control of himself. Emily s issue with time is directly connected to her other
problem of accepting death. This issue in Emily s life is also a stem from her fathers devastating
abuse. Emily, solely dependent upon her father because of the mistreatment, abuse, and absolute

Loss Of Life Exposed In Endymion By John Keats
Of all the great poets of the early nineteenth century, John Keats (1795 1821) was the last to be born
and first to die. Born in London, England, on October 31, 1795, to a poor stable keeper, John Keats
devoted his short life to the perfection of poetry marked by intense imagery, great sensuous appeal and
an attempt to express a philosophy through classical legend. Although he was brought up amid
surroundings and influences by no means calculated to awaken poetic genius. Rendered an orphan at
the tender age of eight, his father s death had a deep rooted effect on the young boy s life. In a more

Effects Of Rms On The Weekly Calls
As RMS continues to indicate, based on our observations and more importantly on the review of
assets during our weekly calls with Altisource, RMS continues to believe on many of these assets, the
condition or location of the property is the primary driver behind not only the large reduction in list
price, but ultimately a sales price well below the initial list price, all of which contribute to extended
days on market and an increase in carrying costs incurred by the Trust. We believe one of the
contributors to this relates to the Altisource process where the listing agent is not local to the property
and typically has not personally visited the asset to assess the condition, the location, drive by the
comps and generally may not be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because Altisource cannot be directed to set the list price of an asset, RMS attempts to get Altisource
to recognize assets that are listed too high and to make appropriate adjustments that will generate
activity and offers.
RMS continues to review assets where we believe the list price set by Altisource is high relative to our
opinion of market value. On listed assets with DOM of more than 60 days, RMS and Altisource
discuss the list price and agent feedback to understand why purchase offers have not been received.
RMS targets these assets for review every 2 weeks.
Another recent observation is an increase in the number of assets in pending contract that fall out
because the buyer fails to return the purchase agreement. This trend has continued to increase over the
past several months. Although Altisource does not provide statistics regarding overall fallout, RMS
has seen an increase based on our observations and the weekly calls. We believe this relates to the
process by which Altisource sells REO assets (on the HUBZU website), where there is no economic
penalty to the bidder if they place an offer on a property but fail to deliver an executed purchase
agreement (similar to what would happen in a traditional sale transaction). In addition, we believe the
lack of agent to agent contact and knowledge of whether a buyer visits the property prior to making an
offer also play a role in the increased fallout. Altisource reports

At those days, they could not sculpt as classical artist because all sculpture of this time was destroyed.
However, painting was easier to copy than construction. Even though no was easy to know how

Venus was taken from the writings of the ancient poet, Homer. According to the traditional account,
after Venus was born, she rode on seashell and sea foam to the island of Cythera. In the painting we
see here, Venus is prominently depicted in the centre, born out of the foam as she rides to shore. On
the left, the figure of Zephyrus carries the nymph Chloris as he blows the wind to guide Venus. On

The mantle billows in the wind from Zephyrus mouth. Botticelli paid much attention to her hair and
hairstyle. He gave Venus an idealized face, which is remarkably free of blemishes, and beautifully
shaded her face to distinguish a lighter side and a more shaded side. Of obvious importance in this

Analysis Of A Complicated Kindness
Literature is arguably the most significant aspect taught in high school. It allows us to expand our
minds to interpret human nature and its consequences. Several high school curriculums neglect the
importance of improving the novels to better fit current generations, which consequently reduces its
impact. A Complicated Kindness is a novel by Miriam Toews that should be implemented in the
English curriculum, as it not only relates to high schoolers in today s society, but is also deemed one
of the best Canadian books through its personal touch and prominent themes that relate to other
important novels. Novels in the curriculum have a level of significance in the literature world that
evidently shows its importance and authenticity. A Complicated Kindness has been awarded with
several awards such as the prestigious Governor General s Award for English Fiction in 2004 and the
CBA Libris Fiction Award. It has also been regarded as the novel all Canadians should read in the
2006 Canada Reads competition. Numerous critics have noted the personal touch that comes from
Toews extensive background. A critical review from Margaret Boe Birns states, A Complicated
Kindness explores both the old fashioned world of the Mennonites and its bete noire of encroaching
modernity and although the Mennonite community is subjected to a great deal of Toews brilliant wit,
it is interesting to see the degree in which it survives her interrogation. The author has her own

Importance And Importance Of Assembly Line
Importance of the Moving Assembly Line and the Model T Ford Before the world entered into the
Industrial Revolution, all goods were made by hand and took weeks to months to produce. After the
Industrial Revolution had begun, the first concept of the assembly line was created. The assembly line
was comprised of each individual worker doing a certain job of producing a single part of the final
product. Prior to Henry Ford, assembly lines involved horses carrying parts from one worker to the
next to create the end product. The implementation of Ford s moving assembly line established a
world where mass production found widespread popularity for being the dawn of the automotive
industry due to its many benefits. Prior to Ford s moving assembly line, the Model T was a luxury
only accessible to the wealthy, yet it later became a car for all. The Model T was a car that followed
the production of the Model N both of which were meant to be cheap in comparison to earlier
automobiles. From its inception, the Model T has been meant to be the first car readily available to the
masses. Before the moving assembly line was implemented, the Model T was already a sturdy and

by their names, even if it is a group. I also just call a spider a spider, not a gran daddy long legs. I also
do not say ruin like rune. I also pronounce syrup, caramel, and New Orleans differently. I usually
pronounce New Orleans like New Orleens. I also pronounce caramel like care a mel, like it is starting
with the word care. I also say data with a short a instead of a long a. I have always heard it
pronounced it that way, so I picked up on that and started using it. Additionally, even though it is rare,
I still say sneakers instead of tennis shoes. Sometimes I even just refer to them as shoes or even by
their brand name (ex .Jordans, Nikes, etc.) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I usually pronounce it like along A (even when it isn t a long way). H pronounces it as a short a or a
long a, depending on what the word is. I believe we pronounce words different because we grew up in
different parts of the world. He grew up in southern Illinois, I grew up in California. Additionally, I am
Mexican, so I have a slight Spanish accent inside me, which makes my speech sound different. I am
also not a holder of a PH.D, therefore I am not as educated as Professor Bigham is. Our region and
education background is different, so it isn t surprising that we pronounce things

Fall In Ellijay
Fall on the farm, not literally of course, unless you are me and then yes, I ve fallen on the farm more
times then I want to count! The ground gets slick and with cold rains and the dirt turns to mud and I
have slipped and slid trudging out to the barn to feed the animals and have fallen down in nasty
chicken poo a few times. Now that is a vision I am sure you needed to have of me, right? Even with a
few tumbles, fall season is a wonderful time of year.
It s harvest time and all the hard work over the summer starts to wind down, and the results are
months worth of canned vegetables and jelly and frozen berries. And, this year will be our first apple
harvest. Living in Ellijay, the apple capitol, we would be remiss if we did not have an ... Show more

As the garden begins to die off it s time to open the gates and let the goats and the chickens and ducks
in to clean things up for me. I let them eat whatever they want and take the rest to our compost pile to
mix with soiled hay from our barn and other compost goodies. This gives me black gold compost for
my gardens in the spring. I cut back my roses and the goats devour the dead roses and branches. They
even eat those thorns, I have no idea how they handle them but they love them. I take old hay from the
barn and lay it over all my beds to mulch the ground and feed the soil. Fall is when I plant my
perennials for the next year. I love all that Autumn color in my yard. Golds, reds, yellows and oranges
mingling with the changing leaves on the trees. It s beautiful and such a wonderful time of

Taking A Look At Insomnia
Unlike the stigmas and taboos associated with many mental illnesses, Insomnia is a mental illness that
is, by comparison, more well received in contemporary society. Being featured in numerous types of
popular culture, such as well known songs, chronic sleeplessness is unique in its near mainstream
relevance (Lynsky, 2008). Insomnia is defined as chronic complaints of unsatisfactory sleep, despite
having an adequate opportunity to sleep (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). According to the
DSM, The diagnosis of insomnia disorder is given whether it occurs as an independent condition or is
comorbid with another mental disorder (e.g., major depressive disorder), medical condition (e.g.,
pain), or another sleep disorder (e.g., a breathing related sleep disorder). ... Show more content on

Insomnia may also manifest as a clinical feature of a more predominant mental disorder. This is
significant, as is defines a distinct difference between primary insomnia and insomnia induced by
another factor or mental illness. It is notable that this condition is prominent throughout society
According to one study, over 35% of those interviewed complained about symptoms related to
insomnia and 10% of those reported effects that persisted into the daytime, negatively impacting their
cognition, relationships, job performance, safety, and overall mental wellbeing (Turkoski, 2006). In
addition, the National Sleep Foundation (2017) found that two thirds of surveyed Americans had
difficulties falling asleep or staying asleep at least one night a week. Due to the reported prevalence of
insomnia, it is important to consider the treatment methods employed to combat both primary and
comorbid

Ayn Rand Essay On The Book Anthem
Rand Essay: Prompt 1 In 2007 to 2013 there was a major controversy over a very simple subject. This
subject was an object that is a necessity in today s society. The object created a new opportunity for
humans because it allowed people to see in the dark. This object was none other than the light bulb.
The light bulb was an amazing invention when it was first created and it still is today except people
overlooked a few things about the first light bulb also known as the incandescent light bulb. The
things that people overlooked on the incandescent light bulb was the fact that it guzzled up so much
energy. Another problem with the incandescent light bulb was that it emitted carbon dioxide. One final
problem with the incandescent light bulb ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One reason for this is because in Anthem the protagonist, Equality 7 2521, thinks that he has created
something that will form an advantage for society. Rand Paul using this to support his argument does
not make sense because Rand Paul was trying to preserve the light bulb of the past instead of just
using the one that is better for the future. Equality 7 2521 was trying to create something that would
establish a better future, and not continue to use what was made in the past. Another reason that it was
not appropriate for Rand Paul to use Ayn Rand and Anthem to support his claim was because people in
the United States have so much control over their choices compared to countries like North Korea.
The fact that Paul thinks the United States will become like the dystopian society of Anthem is absurd.
Rand Paul thought that the government making this choice is a bad thing does not seem right because
they are trying to get rid of something that is bad for the people of our nation. These are clear
examples that it was not appropriate for Rand Paul to use Anthem as a reference to support his

The European Immigration And The New World
In fourteen hundred and ninety two, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. So begins the European
immigration to the New World. Native American people would be forever changed by these
immigrants to their culture. The European immigrants were mostly Judeo Christians while the Native
Americans had their own belief system. These two cultures each have creation stories that are
somewhat similar and yet still different.
Judeo Christian beliefs hold that, in the first chapter of Genesis, God created the world in six days,
while resting on the seventh. One the first day God created the heavens and the earth, the day and the
night, and a dome separating the earth from the sky. On the second day, God created the land and the
seas. On the third day, He created the plants that bear seeds and fruit that bears fruit with seeds in it.
On the fourth day, He created the sun and the moon and the stars. On the fifth day, God created
animals to inhabit the water and birds to fly beneath the dome, blessing them to be fruitful and
multiply in the water and under the dome. On the sixth day, God created wild animals and tame
animals and crawling things to inhabit the earth. He also created human beings, both male and female,
in His image. On the seventh day, he rested.
In the second chapter of Genesis, it tells of how God created the heavens and the earth. God then
formed man out of the dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life. Then He created
the trees, the rivers, the animals

The Power Of Rhetoric In Shakespeare s The Clouds
Rhetoric is the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing, especially the use of figures of
speech and other compositional techniques. (Webster s) The art of oratory reached the height of its
popularity in fifth century Athens, largely due to men like Socrates, Demosthenes and Plato that
perfected this style of speaking and transformed it into an artform. Aristophanes, an Ancient Athenian
playwright s, The Clouds is one of the best examples of how this artform changed the culture of
Ancient Athens, which, in turn, helped to shape thinking in the Western world. From that point until
present day, the art of speaking in a convincing manner (also known as rhetoric), has been a highly
prized and sought after ability. In William Shakespeare s Measure for Measure and Aristophanes The
Clouds, the characters place great importance on the skill of rhetoric. Perfecting this art insures the
characters that they will be convincing in their argument, thereby, also gaining or diminishing their
honor as well as the honor of the other characters.
One of the most prominent examples of the power of rhetoric within Greek society comes from
Aristophanes The Clouds. This play features a hardworking, traditional, but simple father, named,
Strepsiades, who tries to convince his lazy, modern, but quick witted son, Pheidippides to be more like
his hardworking, conservative father. Unfortunately for Strepsiades, Pheidippides used his father s
money for his gambling habit, so the

Some scientists have led to believe that Neanderthals play a special role in the genetic makeup of modern day humans. In the article, Ancient gene flow from early modern humans into Eastern Neanderthals, it says that recently it has been shown that Neanderthals contributed genetically to modern humans outside Africa 47,0000 65,000 years ago. In this article Neanderthals and Denisovan, (an extinct species of human in the genus homo Alta) are analyzed from the Altai Mountains in Siberia together with the sequence of chromosome 21 of two Neanderthals from Spain and Croatia. • 4. Analysis Of Good Bye To All That By Joan Didion In Joan Didion s Good Bye to All That , Didion wrote about a woman s process of pursuing her dream which was living in New York. Throughout the passage, Didion used many rhetorical devices to establish the storyline, which enhanced the reader s understanding of the situations. She used many metaphors to represent the reality of the character s life and what she had hope for. She had also foreshadowed some of the objects in the story that represented something bigger. Didion used foreshadowing to create a dramatic traction on the outcomes of the character. The foreshadowing were not easy to spot or understand. The theme is normally the message the author wants the reader to understand and take in. The theme of the story started with this quote, From my office, I could look across town to the weather signal on the Mutual of New York Building and the lights that alternately spelled TIME and LIFE above Rockefeller Plaza; that pleased me obscurely, and so did walking uptown in the mauve eight o clocks of early summer evenings and looking at things. (Pg. 6) The theme of this story is about time and life. It took time for the character to finally realize the things she wanted in life. She thought she wanted to live in New York and settle in. However, her time in New York wasn t the best experience she had hope for. Her life was a mess, and she wasn t focused on the right things she was suppose to be focusing on. Seeing the words TIME on Rockefeller Plaza, one of New York s main attraction gave her hope again. From the beginning she believed that time would help her adapt to New York. When she first got to New York, she was young. Being young gave her opportunities and time to find jobs and work her way up. It took time for her to realize all the problems she had been living with. It took time for her to realize that Los Angeles was a place she enjoyed living in in the future. New York was a stage of time where she had to discover herself as an individual. The last sentence of the passage showed that she was happy living in Los Angeles. There were years when I called Los Angeles the coast, but they seem a long time ago. (Pg. 8) Normally, people living in the east coast would call Los Angeles the coast, but it was a long time ago since she called Los Angeles the coast. They organize a party in which they invite the members of the white community and the few non white guests local zamindars and their wives. (16). This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the contract between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively clear on the auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Ó hÓgartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An auditor owes a duty of care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to negligence on the part of the auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort (Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). • 11. Spousal Relationships in Macbeth and Oedipus the King Essay In Macbeth, by William Shakesphere, and Oedipus the King by Sophocles, the spousal relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, and Oedipus and Jocasta, play a major role in the events that lead to the tragedy. Their love, respect, and determination for each other reveal the nature of the relationship shared by them. In Macbeth, the bond between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is strong. For instance, when he first hears the prophecy from the three weird sisters, he immediately writes to Lady Macbeth informing her about the prophecies. Finally, the strength of their bond can be seen when Macbeth becomes despondent at the news of Lady Macbeth death. He feels that he has lost all hopes since he had undergone all those evil deeds just for her. Just as the bond between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is strong, so does the bond between Oedipus and Jocasta in Oedipus the King. Oedipus has excessive pride in him and is known for his swift actions. It is Jocasta who tries to stop him from jumping into decisions without thinking about the outcome. For instance, when Oedipus accuses Creon and Tiresias for treachery, Jocasta tries to reason out with Oedipus. She tells him to not to believe in prophecies as they are not true. She narrates to Oedipus the tale of the prophecy of her son that he would one day kill his own father (Laius). She further tells him that the prophecy never came true because her son was killed when he was a child and that Laius was killed by a group of thieves. • 12. The Stock Market Crash Of 1929, By Brenda Lange On October 29, 1929, America experienced the most calamitous stock market crash in its history. Although some tried to prevent the crash from getting worse, the fear and panic that so many Americans felt, caused them to make a horrible situation even worse. The 1929 stock market crash affected America in several ways, causing America to go from a time of prosperity, to a time of strife, leading Americans to lose billions of dollars and also leading to an increase in homelessness and unemployment rates, leaving America devastated. Before the market crash, many people were happy and optimistic about the future. Brenda Lange, author of The Stock Market Crash of 1929, wrote that the time before the crash was a time of optimism and hope, and the future looked promising. (Lange 12), referring to how people had nothing to worry about. This is evident in everything from the films we watch, music we listen to, and even in our everyday lives. Historically, this issue has seen an even larger gap, and can be observed in the films that were made during that time. Vertigo and Citizen Kane both show the objectification of women by controlling them, writing them in supportive roles, and placing their value in the way that they look. In Alfred Hitchcock s Vertigo, made in 1954, a detective falls in love with the woman that he is hired to investigate, not knowing her true identity. • 15. A Comparison Of Abraham Lincoln And Nathan Bedford Forrest The Civil War was the most divisive moment in American History, and decided the fate of the Union forever. It created many of the social and political divides and contrasts in culture that are still seen in today s world. The war was the eruption that had been brewing since the birth of the United States. Two of the important figures in the Civil War period are Abraham Lincoln and Nathan Bedford Forrest. Both were influential in their own respective countries and both were seen as great leaders by their own countries citizens. If the South won the war, Forrest would have been seen as more of a hero than he is in the world today. Because the Union won the war, though, the more important figure is Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was also more influential than Nathan Bedford Forrest because of his honest character, compassion, and determination. Abe Lincoln was able to win people over because of his understanding of society. He showed attributes that, at the time, were more caring and loving than most people. For example, in some of his speeches from Illinois, he took a stance against slavery. He questioned if slavery was morally and constitutionally right, which was a big risk at the time. This move won over the liberal citizens in America, but greatly alienated the South, especially when Abe Lincoln won the election of 1860. His determination was another huge factor to him being a great influence. Even though he started out not taking the War seriously, which causes the Union to lose some important battles, these losses are a wake up call for Lincoln, which reinvigorates him to fight back against the South and win the war, saving the Union and freeing the slaves. This ended up being his greatest strength, and what decides how he is remembered in history forever. While Lincoln is more remembered in history, on the other side of the coin is Nathan Bedford Forrest. Even though he was on the losing side, he was still well respected by people on both sides of the war, unlike Lincoln who was hated by the South. He went down as a great general and a great tactician in the Civil War. However, unlike Lincoln, his reputation is blown out of proportion and misinformed by bias. The novel is based around the story of the 1959 Clutter family murder in the community of Holcomb, Kansas. The film adaptation is more structured around the life of Truman Capote (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) throughout the time he was creating In Cold Blood; therefore, more behind the scenes analysis took place even though the film is fictional. Sympathy drags in the spectator of a text or film much greater than any other emotion. It creates a personal bond between the characters being depicted and themselves. This bond of sympathy can become even greater when it is known that the characters being bonded to the spectator are based upon real people and their events. Sympathy is built by Truman Capote through characterization and imagery while Bennett Miller builds sympathy through clever screenwriting and casting the correct personalities. While Dick Hickock (Mark Pellegrino) and Perry Smith (Clifton Collins Jr.) were brutal murderers, their notoriety brought in so much fear that more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will be talking about my torah portion Ki Teitzei which is about the commandments that Moses was giving at the end of his life. The commandments covered many different topics from cheating to inheritance. One thing that stood out to me in my torah portion was the commandment about dealing with difficult children. In the torah it says that if a family has a wayward and defiant son who is bad even after being disciplined. The parents together must take their son to the town s elders, and say This son of ours is disloyal and defiant; he does not heed us. He is a glutton and a drunkard. Why would God want parents to kill their own children? It says in the Mishnah, that if you kill one person, it is as if you are destroying the entire world, and if you save one person, you are saving the entire world. So commanding parents and communities to kill their rebellious children is like asking them to destroy the entire world. The rabbis who wrote the Mishnah, also did not like this commandment. As they explained the details, they made it very specific, so that it could never actually happen. First they restrict it by age: it only applies from a person s 13th birthday, until three months after that. So for me, I have two more days until I am safe from being stoned for being a stubborn and rebellious son. Then they restrict it so that it only applies to sons, and not daughters. They explain the Torah to mean that the son has to eat meat and wine, no other food or drink counts. They measure out an outrageous amount of meat and wine he has to eat and drink to be deemed a glutton and a drunkard. I think that it is wrong to cover up this part of the ... Now we are in the 21st century, 2016 to be exact and we are sadly far away from those years. I mention this because when I think of the 1950s, I imagine the big signs with the huge letters in the Broadway font, located in New York City. People traveled to New York to live the American dream, to own a home and be married and have lovely children. People also traveled to New York City to make something of themselves. To make themselves worth something. The city gave them this thrive that if they had a person who believed in them and money, they could do anything imagined. • 23. The Supernatural And Natural Aspects Of Women In The Old Ages In olden times, women were mostly seen as possessions or things to be won by men. There simply wasn t anything better than a beautiful woman, a heap of gold, and the power to control people. If you wanted a family, you had to have a wife to cook, clean, birth and rear your offspring. Despite the previous aspects of the old way of life being represented in these myths, they also demonstrate how sometimes carrying out the plan for a perfect family leaves you utterly alone. In these stories, women tied to the supernatural and natural elements are shown to be an almost forbidden fruit for men. Several high school curriculums neglect the importance of improving the novels to better fit current generations, which consequently reduces its impact. A Complicated Kindness is a novel by Miriam Toews that should be implemented in the English curriculum, as it not only relates to high schoolers in today s society, but is also deemed one of the best Canadian books through its personal touch and prominent themes that relate to other important novels. Novels in the curriculum have a level of significance in the literature world that evidently shows its importance and authenticity. A Complicated Kindness has been awarded with several awards such as the prestigious Governor General s Award for English Fiction in 2004 and the CBA Libris Fiction Award. It has also been regarded as the novel all Canadians should read in the 2006 Canada Reads competition. Numerous critics have noted the personal touch that comes from Toews extensive background. A critical review from Margaret Boe Birns states, A Complicated Kindness explores both the old fashioned world of the Mennonites and its bete noire of encroaching modernity and although the Mennonite community is subjected to a great deal of Toews brilliant wit, it is interesting to see the degree in which it survives her interrogation. The author has her own experiences ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Importance And Importance Of Assembly Line Importance of the Moving Assembly Line and the Model T Ford Before the world entered into the Industrial Revolution, all goods were made by hand and took weeks to months to produce. After the Industrial Revolution had begun, the first concept of the assembly line was created. The assembly line was comprised of each individual worker doing a certain job of producing a single part of the final product. Prior to Henry Ford, assembly lines involved horses carrying parts from one worker to the next to create the end product. The implementation of Ford s moving assembly line established a world where mass production found widespread popularity for being the dawn of the automotive industry due to its many benefits. Prior to Ford s moving assembly line, the Model T was a luxury only accessible to the wealthy, yet it later became a car for all. The Model T was a car that followed the production of the Model N both of which were meant to be cheap in comparison to earlier automobiles. From its inception, the Model T has been meant to be the first car readily available to the masses. Before the moving assembly line was implemented, the Model T was already a sturdy and relatively inexpensive automobile yet, not inexpensive enough for Ford who was determined to build motor ... An example of mass production meeting those needs is the modern cell phone of which Samsung has been able to sell and produce about 300 million phones per year (Anon). Without the use of the assembly line, mass production would not be a thing. The definition of mass production is producing something in large quantities, therefore a product can not be produced in large amounts without an assembly line automating the task at hand. I also do not call a carbonated beverage a sodie pop, I call it a soda or sometimes even just a drink. I call the thing to change the T.V. a remote, not a flicker. Honestly, I didn t even know that word even existed. I also do not pronounce both like there is a l in the word, I pronounce it without the l sound. I also don t say y all either, I usually say only you guys or I just say hey or just call everyone by their names, even if it is a group. I also just call a spider a spider, not a gran daddy long legs. I also do not say ruin like rune. I also pronounce syrup, caramel, and New Orleans differently. I usually pronounce New Orleans like New Orleens. I also pronounce caramel like care a mel, like it is starting with the word care. I also say data with a short a instead of a long a. I have always heard it pronounced it that way, so I picked up on that and started using it. Additionally, even though it is rare, I still say sneakers instead of tennis shoes. • 42. Fall In Ellijay Fall on the farm, not literally of course, unless you are me and then yes, I ve fallen on the farm more times then I want to count! The ground gets slick and with cold rains and the dirt turns to mud and I have slipped and slid trudging out to the barn to feed the animals and have fallen down in nasty chicken poo a few times. Now that is a vision I am sure you needed to have of me, right? Even with a few tumbles, fall season is a wonderful time of year. It s harvest time and all the hard work over the summer starts to wind down, and the results are months worth of canned vegetables and jelly and frozen berries. And, this year will be our first apple harvest. Living in Ellijay, the apple capitol, we would be remiss if we did not have an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I cut back my roses and the goats devour the dead roses and branches. They even eat those thorns, I have no idea how they handle them but they love them. I take old hay from the barn and lay it over all my beds to mulch the ground and feed the soil. Fall is when I plant my perennials for the next year. I love all that Autumn color in my yard. • 43. Taking A Look At Insomnia Unlike the stigmas and taboos associated with many mental illnesses, Insomnia is a mental illness that is, by comparison, more well received in contemporary society. Being featured in numerous types of popular culture, such as well known songs, chronic sleeplessness is unique in its near mainstream relevance (Lynsky, 2008). Insomnia is defined as chronic complaints of unsatisfactory sleep, despite having an adequate opportunity to sleep (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). According to the DSM, The diagnosis of insomnia disorder is given whether it occurs as an independent condition or is comorbid with another mental disorder (e.g., major depressive disorder), medical condition (e.g., pain), or another sleep disorder (e.g., a breathing related sleep disorder). ... • 44. Ayn Rand Essay On The Book Anthem Rand Essay: Prompt 1 In 2007 to 2013 there was a major controversy over a very simple subject. This subject was an object that is a necessity in today s society. The object created a new opportunity for humans because it allowed people to see in the dark. This object was none other than the light bulb. The light bulb was an amazing invention when it was first created and it still is today except people overlooked a few things about the first light bulb also known as the incandescent light bulb. The things that people overlooked on the incandescent light bulb was the fact that it guzzled up so much energy. Another problem with the incandescent light bulb was that it emitted carbon dioxide. One final problem with the incandescent light bulb ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One reason for this is because in Anthem the protagonist, Equality 7 2521, thinks that he has created something that will form an advantage for society. Rand Paul using this to support his argument does not make sense because Rand Paul was trying to preserve the light bulb of the past instead of just using the one that is better for the future. Equality 7 2521 was trying to create something that would establish a better future, and not continue to use what was made in the past. Another reason that it was not appropriate for Rand Paul to use Ayn Rand and Anthem to support his claim was because people in the United States have so much control over their choices compared to countries like North Korea. The fact that Paul thinks the United States will become like the dystopian society of Anthem is absurd. Rand Paul thought that the government making this choice is a bad thing does not seem right because they are trying to get rid of something that is bad for the people of our nation. These are clear examples that it was not appropriate for Rand Paul to use Anthem as a reference to support his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. The European Immigration And The New World In fourteen hundred and ninety two, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. So begins the European immigration to the New World. Native American people would be forever changed by these immigrants to their culture. The European immigrants were mostly Judeo Christians while the Native Americans had their own belief system. These two cultures each have creation stories that are somewhat similar and yet still different. Judeo Christian beliefs hold that, in the first chapter of Genesis, God created the world in six days, while resting on the seventh. One the first day God created the heavens and the earth, the day and the night, and a dome separating the earth from the sky. On the second day, God created the land and the seas. On the third day, He created the plants that bear seeds and fruit that bears fruit with seeds in it. On the fourth day, He created the sun and the moon and the stars. On the fifth day, God created animals to inhabit the water and birds to fly beneath the dome, blessing them to be fruitful and multiply in the water and under the dome. On the sixth day, God created wild animals and tame animals and crawling things to inhabit the earth. He also created human beings, both male and female, in His image. On the seventh day, he rested. In the second chapter of Genesis, it tells of how God created the heavens and the earth. God then formed man out of the dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life. • 46. The Power Of Rhetoric In Shakespeare s The Clouds Rhetoric is the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing, especially the use of figures of speech and other compositional techniques. (Webster s) The art of oratory reached the height of its popularity in fifth century Athens, largely due to men like Socrates, Demosthenes and Plato that perfected this style of speaking and transformed it into an artform. Aristophanes, an Ancient Athenian playwright s, The Clouds is one of the best examples of how this artform changed the culture of Ancient Athens, which, in turn, helped to shape thinking in the Western world. From that point until present day, the art of speaking in a convincing manner (also known as rhetoric), has been a highly prized and sought after ability. In William Shakespeare s Measure for Measure and Aristophanes The Clouds, the characters place great importance on the skill of rhetoric. Perfecting this art insures the characters that they will be convincing in their argument, thereby, also gaining or diminishing their honor as well as the honor of the other characters. One of the most prominent examples of the power of rhetoric within Greek society comes from Aristophanes The Clouds. This play features a hardworking, traditional, but simple father, named, Strepsiades, who tries to convince his lazy, modern, but quick witted son, Pheidippides to be more like his hardworking, conservative father. Unfortunately for Strepsiades, Pheidippides used his father s money for his gambling habit, so the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
