Value Of Hard Work Essay
Hard work equals success in many people s eyes. Experiencing work with family, school, and in the
workplace has shown me the importance of hard work and dedication. Along with with that, I have
gained responsibility, experience, and balance. Although my experience has shown me the importance
of hard work and dedication, it has also helped me distinguish the risk of how the the value of work
can be taken for granted. I have not always had the right attitude towards work as a whole, but I have
learned to love the idea and application of it; with exceptions. As a child, up until a certain point, I
have always worked with my father in the restaurant business. My dad fell in love with the restaurant
business when he was younger. His dream was to own as many restaurants as he could. The business
started off small, but his dream came true overtime. We went from waking up every morning in the
summer selling tacos; to waking up and prepping for opening at Hit The Spot Cafe . I hated waking up
so early, but my dad said I didn t have a choice. He gets up every day whether he feels like it or not.
My father has always worked nonstop, and he s the type to keep himself busy. Over the years I ve
learned within my experience growing up in such a business, and possibly most; it can be tough.
Working with my dad taught me the value of working hard. His dedication inspired me to wish to
become just as focused with work. In all of the jobs I ve acquired outside of my dad s business, I gave

Essay about Compare and Contrast Columbine and Virginia Tech
The Columbine Shooting and Virginia Tech. shooting were called similar in various ways. They were
both declared a national tragedy 13 people killed total in the Columbine and 33 in the Virginia Tech
shooting. Though the two incidents were similarly done by psychopaths, there were differences in the
details of both shootings, the reactions of society, and upcoming psychological development. Eric
Harris and Dylan Klebold were responsible for the 13 deaths during the Columbine Shooting on April
20, 1999. The main difference between Harris and Klebolds plan and Cho s attacks were Harris and
Klebold left documentation of their plans. They made many blogs on how to make home made

At 11:42 Harris and Klebold then walked out of the library ending the massacre. Then to end it all the
boys then stood there and shot themselves. Dylan was armed with an Intratec TEC DC9 (9 mm semi
automatic handgun) attached to a strap slung over his shoulder (under coat), Savage 311 D 12 gauge
double barrel shotgun (barrel sawed down to approximately 23 inches, initially half hidden in Dylan s

Savage Springfield 67H 12 gauge pump shotgun he called Arlene (named after a Doom character

the entire gun to 26 inches). Seung Hui Cho made April 16, 2008 go down in history being known
today as the worst school shooting ever. In a two and a half hour time frame 33 people died including
Cho and many others injured. Unlike the Columbine Shooting there were no real warning signs that
Cho would do such a devastating thing. He left no documentation of his plans that investigators know
of today. The only so called warning signs were On November 27, 2005 a female student reported to
campus police that she was receiving unwanted phone calls and visits from Cho. In December 2005,
another female made a complaint about getting unwanted instant messages from Cho. On that same

The Secret History Analysis
The second oral interpretation assignment I did was much more free in a creative aspect than the first
assignment I did, this time I was able to pick the passage from any book and I picked my favorite
book, The Secret History by Donna Tartt. This passage was meant to entertain the audience and also
convey a message, which was the main purpose of the assignment. In addition to the passage I chose, I
also wrote a brief introduction that provided some background information about the book and the
overall message the passage was conveying. Overall, after reflecting on the presentation, I came to the
conclusion that I did a decent job on this oral communication project but it was not as good as my first
presentation. On the subject of speech ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a performer I have gained the know.edge of how to write a brief introduction that accurately and
correctly sets up a passage and I have also overcome a lot of my really bad stage fright which was
when I would play with my hair and fidget while presenting. Two areas I really want to focus on
improving are being better prepared and cutting my time. I will do this by practicing a lot more in
front of the mirror and in front of my dad for his advice on what to fix at least a week before the
presentation, so that I am better prepared. I will also cut my presenting time by cutting out excess
words and descriptions. After assessing my presentation, I would give myself an A , because I did
work hard, prepare and tried to improve, which showed in my presentation. Overall I am proud of this
presentation and was mostly happy with how it turned

Harry Potter Music Analysis
In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, John Williams employs diegetic music by having the
characters in the film sing a song that combines with the background music. The song Double Trouble
is sung by the school choir while the film score for the movie that reflects mysteriousness and eeriness
plays. The mood in the air is almost a sense of fear and paranoia as the students in school don t feel
safe after news broke of a prison breakout. The music supports that sense of fear as the lyrics in the
film along with the rest of the music alludes to the fact that trouble is near.

which is when the source of the sound is not visible on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2d. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, John Williams creates the mood of leitmotif by
consistently playing the same music themes based on the scene. Leitmotif is defined by the theme in
the music that is associated with certain scenes, moods, or people. For an example, whenever the
movie tries to create a feeling of sadness felt by Harry s loneliness after having lost his parents, there
is sad music playing in the background that plays softly. By consistently having this music played
whenever Harry is feeling down, we begin to associate the connection between the two. Another
specific scene where the same sad theme is played in the background, is when Harry looks into the
mirror where he sees his parents. John Williams does this for all sorts of moods whether it be
happiness, sadness, or excitement as well as having music for specific characters and settings.
2e. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, John Williams creates the mood of foreshadowing in
the scenes by having the music played leading up to a major event. For an example during the scene
where the characters are chased by a troll monster, there is frightening music being played. We have
not yet actually seen the monster, but rather can only hear his footsteps at this point. Having the music
in the background however, foreshadows the eventual doom that the characters will face.

Romantic, Realist, And Modernist Period
Love, since the beginning of time, has had a place in every literature no matter the time period. The
world that we live in is complex and often times, love and reason do not exist interconnect, however,
literature acts as the glue in bringing these two elements together. Authors sometimes use the concept
of love as a subject for their work, rationally, and carefully using it as a tool in their writing. In this
essay, works by different authors during the Romantic, Realist, and Modernist period will be used to
exhibit some of the forms of love used in literature. Romanticism was a movement that formed out of
the need for authors to be able to freely, and completely, express their emotions and desires within
their writings. By definition, romance is a feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love .
This period, or era, changed how we, as people, viewed love and self. During this time, there was an
emphasis placed on ideas that were centered on individualism, nature, and natural human emotion.
Nature, and natural beings, was seen as inspiration and invoked imagination, impulsiveness, freedom,
and excess while creating a movement that was open to the ordinary individual, even the social
outcast. Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre is a perfect example of Romanticism s influence within a work.
This work exemplifies the quest to achieve not only romantic love, but self love or growth while
experiencing natural human emotions. After being belittled for so long, the

Theories Of Personality And Psychosocial Development
Psychoanalysis and Psychosexuality
Carolyn Bennett
PSY/330 Theories of Personality
Maurita Hodge

I have chosen psychosexual and psychosocial development; for my model of presentation. In Freudian
psychology, psychosexual development is a central element of the psychoanalytic sexual drive theory,
that human beings, from birth, possess an instinctual libido (sexual energy) that develops in five
stages. Each stage the oral, the anal, the phallic, the latent, and the genital is characterized by the
erogenous zone that is the source of the libidinal drive. Sigmund Freud proposed that if the child
experienced sexual frustration in relation to any psychosexual developmental stage, he or she would
experience anxiety that would persist into adulthood as a neurosis, a functional mental disorder

Between World War one and world war two, Americans went to Europe to train for psychoanalysis.
Ego psychology was the main therapeutic perspective that was brought back to America. For 50 years
this type of psychoanalysis was based centrally on Sigmund Freud s The Ego and the Id (1923) and
The Problem of Anxiety (1936), followed by Anna Freud s Ego and the Mechanisms of Defense
(1936) and Heinz Hartmann s Psychoanalysis and the Problem of Adaptation (1939). (American
Psychoanalytic Association) This belief was dominant until 1970.

Theme Of Jealousy In East Of Eden
Jealousy is one of the main reasons for anger and destruction. The rivalry between siblings can cause
extreme feelings of jealousy, which can create a catastrophe. The biblical story of Cain and Abel
shows this when Cain s jealousy brings him to slaughter his brother and his loss of control ends with
deadly consequences. In his novel, East of Eden, John Steinbeck retells the story of Cain and Abel
through the relationships between Charles and Adam, as well as through Cal and Aron. Charles
obsessive jealousy over his brother ultimately causes him to try to kill him, and Cal s overwhelming
sense of rivalry causes his father to shun him, as God did to Cain.
The first allusion made to the story of Cain and Abel is through Charles and Adam s relationship.
Charles represents Cain. He is portrayed as evil, manipulative, and jealous. He tries to buy the love of
his father and becomes competitive with Adam when he discovers that Cyrus loves him more. His
jealously drives him to harm Adam. Similarly, Adam represents Abel, the good brother. The reader
sees him as more innocent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast (Genesis 4). This quote can be perfectly ascribed
to John Steinbeck s characters, Cal and Aron. Cal and Aron both try very hard to impress their father
later in life. Aron, representing Abel, offers his good education and potential in the world. Cal offers
money which he gained from a path that Adam did not like. Adam looked with favor on his good son,
Aron. Though Cal tried harder than Aron, his dedication did not pay off. This sibling rivalry affected
Cal, and caused him to become subconsciously jealous of his brother. He tried to be good by showing
Aron their mother, but it ultimately caused his downfall. The rivalry created by the lack of acceptance
from his father caused Cal to kill his brother in the

Germany s Distinguishable Military Culture
Germany s distinguishable military culture is marked by the imperative to succeed and extremism.
Their position in Belgium and The Great War began with the aristocracy being threatened, and ended
with Germany overestimating their strategy. Reliance on tactic and luck rather than strategy proves to
be the country s Achilles heel once they encounter Belgium resistance. The strong characteristics of
Germany s style bleed through their actions across Belgium and shaped how countries perceived
Germany during and after The Great War. The arising socialist party was beginning to be a major
threat towards the aristocracy because of the rising level of nationalism. The Kaiser partially saw the
war as a way to put aside the possible uprising and maintain current state of affairs. The victory the
Prussian army had in 1849 came against the advocating of revolution and reform. After some time, the
social, economic, and political forces that pressed for reform joined as one in parliament to face the
monarch. The issue of monarch versus the people for control of the army and violence is what
determined Prussia s political fate. Bismarck turned these politics around in Germany to unify the
army with war: this action shone a positive light on nationalism and put the army in the monarch s
hands. The Kaiser s major power came from his control over policy and the military. Germany s
military is individualized because of the key aspects it follows. Relations to extremism, tactical
actions

Benefits Of Yoga
YOGA
As a practioner of yoga for nearly 20 years , I have come to see, feel and reap the benefits of this
practice, not only on a physical level but on a physiological and spiritual level too.
Yoga is a way of life, an intergrated system of education for the body, mind and inner spirit. This art of
right living was perfected and practised in India thousands of years ago but, since yoga deals with
universal truths, its teachings are as valid today as they were in ancient times. Yoga is a practical aid,
not a religion. Yoga is union with all.
WHAT IS YOGA ?
The word Yoga comes from the sanskrit root word yuj which literally means yoking, in the sense of
the coming together of a harmonious relationship between our seperate aspects. Different aspects of
our perception make yoga either exoteric or esoteric. The yoga teachings regarding bringing the body,
mind and emotions into harmony, such as Hatha Yoga, are exoteric. Those teachings focused upon the
outer self in harmony with the Inner Self, such as Classical Yoga, are esoteric. In exoteric based Hatha
Yoga, the practices focus on developing health to optimal physiological and psychological levels. In
esoteric based Classical Yoga, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Yoga was slowly refined and developed by the Brahmans and Rishis (mystic seers) who documented
their practices and beliefs in the Upanishads , a huge work containing over 200 scriptures. The most
renowned of the yoga scriptures is the Bhagavad Gita , composed around 500 B.C. The Upanishads
took the idea of ritual sacrifice from the vedas and internalized it, teaching the sacrifice of the ego

Factors Affecting The Growth Of A Developed Countries
10) Urbanization in the less developed countries has much been the result of demographic growth that
rather than economic development like in developed countries. The demographic trend of rapid
declines in death rates compared to birth rates has generated large increases in population. A Lot of the
urbanization of developing country populations is due to rural urban migration. The decision to
migrate mainly involves push and pull factors . Push factors such as bad economic, political, and
environmental circumstances force migrants out of rural areas. Pull factors may include a desire for
employment and the idea of better access to schools, health clinics, piped water and other facilities
that are not widely available in rural regions. which attract migrants to urban areas. Displacement,
political circumstances and war related conflicts have also led migrates to urban areas. The
disproportionate number of youth in these migrations bring forth another component of urban growth,
natural increase. Natural increase refers to a rise in population because the birth rates are higher than
the death rates. Natural increase accounts for about 60 percent of urban population growth in less
developed countries. Natural increase gives indications on how fast populations development while
showing growth tendencies. The natural increase is found by subtracting deaths from births and

The Cold War And The Soviet War
As we all think of word war we immediately think of death s, violence, disagreement with one
another. Many country has been on war with one another but they have got anything out of it, except
millions of people deaths. Whenever war start it s always happened because of two nations
disagreement with one another. In 1948 Berlin Blockade, The USSR attempt to break the connection

long as I know the history there is only one person who said violence, weapons is not way for solution

Factors That Can Be Protective Against Ptsd
What is meant by the term resilience with regard to response to stressful events? One resilience factor
is hardiness , discuss how this factor can be protective against PTSD.
Stress is a widely studied phenomenon, as stress is an experience that every individual go through in
their everyday lives. According to Baum (1990), stress can be defined as a negative emotional
experience accompanied by predicable biochemical, physiological and behavioural changes that are
directed towards adaption either by manipulating the situation to alter the stressor or by
accommodating its effects. Everybody is affected by stressful events in different ways, some are better
at coping than others, this is because everyone is individually different. This is where resilience to
stressful events comes into place. Resilience helps to explain the ability to adapt in the face of tragedy,
hardship, trauma, adversity and a continuation of significant life stressors. Bonanno (2002).There are
many factors that influence people s resilience to these life events, for example personality traits,
optimism, lows of control, hardiness and social support. In this essay there will be a focus on
hardiness as it is a main factor for overcoming mental illness. Especially for PTSD which is heavily
influenced by stressful life experiences.
Stress has a big impact on people s mental and physical health, the way in which people cope with
stress can protect them from illness. Throughout life, people are faced

My Original Understanding Of The Discipline Before The Course
Introduction To be detached from the hustle and noise of our lives, yet find peace within ourselves
while we inhabit this world. Perhaps the most surprising yet fulfilling spiritual discipline I have learnt
this year, whilst partaking in this course is that of finding the time to sit silently of all distractions in
solitude and focus only on God. Summarise your original understanding of the discipline before the
course started Prior to this course and even prior to becoming a Christian seven years ago, I would use
solitude as a form of escaping from where I didn t want to be in life. Especially as a child and teenager
living in an environment of verbal abuse and violence whist watching the effects of an alcoholic
parent slowly destroy my respect for who they were. Solitude and silence was my revenge and in
someway my shelter. I believe this solitude prior to my Christianity was a tool I used to make me
harder . It allowed me to shut off emotions, empathy towards those I resented and survive in that
world. In hindsight, Solitude back then in my life, probably made me more non Christian. A
Significant Christian figure in history who has contributed to this discipline Dr Van Shore lecturer of
Alpacrucis College, states: David the King and Poet who wrote Psalm 23, could not have savoured
and tasted the love of God as he describes this, without solitude. David calls his listeners to be still and
hear God despite the turmoil of the battles they were enduring at the time.

The Theory Of Free Market Economics
When I came back to Oregon after spending four years in the Marine Corps, I quickly became
interested in politics. In 2013 I was introduced to the concepts of free market economics, a system
where the consumer decides the prices of goods or services without the intervention of the government
or any other authority. In Sandel s Justice I found that his writing on libertarianism to be somewhat
confusing and written with an agenda. Sandel quotes Nozick saying, only a minimal state, limited to
enforcing contracts and protecting people against force, theft and fraud is justified. I believe Sandel
uses this as an attempt to explain the Non aggression principle, without actually explaining anything
in depth. The non aggression principle the NAP is easily the most important aspect of having a free
market. The number one misconception that people have about libertarian beliefs and the free market
is that with deregulation comes anarchy (a perpetual state of chaos, without rules.) The non aggression
principle is the key component that makes libertarianism work. A free market if followed offers a
maximization of economic and monetary security if the NAP; it leads to complete non interventionist
economy. The best way to maximize peace is to remove any justification for dynamic, aggressive
force (i.e. Institutions of the state) the concepts of government welfare programs can be taken over by
the moral obligation to help your fellow man. Historically the state breeds war, in

Norma Rae Analysis
Many great movies have the opportunity to change public opinion or perspective on various issues.
From politics and violence, to relationships and identity, cinema can offer poignant commentary on
many social and cultural issues. The 1979 Oscar winning film Norma Rae adds to this tradition with
its messages about women, labor and other aspects of 1970s life. When it was released this movie was
ground breaking. Its strong female protagonist inspired people all over the nation. As time has gone

attitudes toward life. Additional commentary on the film comes from Jefferson Cowie s book Stayin

The community depicted in the film consists of textile workers in the south and the film was even shot
in a real textile mill using workers as extras. This realism and accuracy gives an authentic depiction of
working class life in the late 1970s. This realism gives the audience of the time an ability to relate to
the events and ideas of the movie. Some working communities begin to realize that the fight to
unionize was literally a fight for the lives of working people. As workers of the time saw the movie
and saw the power of both individual effort and collaboration, they likely took these values back to
their home town. While some of the events in the movie do not relate to all communities, the emphasis
on thinking in new ways and taking new approaches to fair labor practices had a great impact on
people in the late 1970s. If a small southern town could overcome oppressive business forces and
unionize to seek better treatment, then all working towns should be able to do the same. The film s
influence on common working folks was not as significant as Norma Rae s impact on women, but still

Our Secret Susan Kriffin Analysis
Everyone has experienced a dark moment in their lives. It is in these dark moments that turn out to be
the most profound. In the story Our Secret by Susan Griffin, it talks about the connection of the past
lives of those in Nazi Germany and about Griffin s own family. Griffin has also talked about an artist
named Kathe Kollwitz. Kathe Kollwitz has created many self portraits relating and expressing the
emotions of the people of Nazi Germany. During this time, many people have gone through hardships
such as poverty and war. Through poverty some may have experience or gone through some
emotional situations. During war, people may have lost someone close to them or even the peace they
had before the chaos have occurred. Griffin has related a painting by Kollwitz with her personal life.
In the story, Griffin is trying to portray through this connection how people feel emotionally and
physically in the midst of war and violence. War and expressions of emotions are common themes in
most great works of art. In the painting by Kollwitz called Poverty, it shows a woman holding her
head in her hands. The woman is looking at an infant sleeping in its bed. You can see the light from
the background shining through the window unto the baby. Although there is light shining on the baby,
it also shows that the baby is dying and the woman is actually crying. The portrait also shows two
figures standing in the background in darkness. On page 390 it states, Though the infant and the

Teaching Styles Within The Classroom
Teaching Physical Education today is more intricate than most people might think it is or was years
ago. Classrooms today include students of a very large spectrum. This can include students who learn
visually, auditory, by being hands on or even students who participate in adaptive classrooms.
Basically, every student in any classroom seems to learn slightly differently than their classmate these
days. Too many teachers are avoiding including multiple teaching styles in their classrooms due to the
potential increase in effort and preparation that follows, but it is crucial that Physical Educators are
aware of the importance of teaching styles in the classroom. A teacher who can properly incorporate
multiple teaching styles into their classrooms is an example of a successful and effective teacher.
Students in today s physical education classrooms vary greatly among great levels. In order for
teachers to effectively teach every single one of their students, they need to incorporate different
teaching styles into their daily routine. One example of a teaching style is the direct teaching style.
The direct teaching style is the most commonly used teaching style in Physical Education classrooms,
so it can also be considered the most effective in a normal classroom setting. Direct teaching, or
otherwise known as Command style teaching is self explanatory in the fact that it the most command
like style. The teacher is the leader of the classroom and provides their students with

Humanitarian Intervention
Introduction
Despite the decolonization occurred in the aftermath of the Second World War (1939 45), the former
colonial powers continue to apply existing and past international economic arrangements to maintain
colonial control over African countries. This can be witnessed in the military intervention by western
countries which is to some authors is done for humanitarian purposes or to expand neo colonialism.
Neo colonialism entails the domination in social, economic and culture of countries from the
developed world that is the western countries in the respective internal affairs of the countries of the
developing world that is African countries (jean Paul: 2001). Intervention is a term which covers a
wide variety of situations where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Military action in Libya was sanctioned by the Security Council under Chapter VII of the United
Nations Charter, which allows for such intervention in the case of a threat to international peace and
security which they have interpreted as including grave threats to civilians. The international
community, through the United Nations, also has the responsibility to use appropriate diplomatic,
humanitarian and other peaceful means, in accordance with Chapters VI and VIII of the Charter, to
help protect populations from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity. In
this context, we are prepared to take collective action, in a timely and decisive manner, through the
Security Council, in accordance with the Charter, including Chapter VII, on a case by case basis and
in cooperation with relevant regional organizations as appropriate, should peaceful means be
inadequate.
In addition, there is a perception that western military intervention in Libya has taken priority over
efforts to secure a political resolution and that, beyond an evident desire to see the removal of Gaddafi
s regime, as this lies under the concept of responsibility to protect Libyan of their rights(ABC:23 02
2011). In this case the Europeans wanted to promote elections so that people of Libya will choose

Mud River Stone Analysis
There have been many plays I ve had the pleasure of being a part of, but I can honestly say Mud,
River, Stone by Lynn Nottage has had the greatest impact on my life, this play allowed me to delve
not lonely deeper into the understanding of my self, but even being able to relate it to the
insurmountable social injustice we see that is taking place in today s society; you know it s said
theater has a way of relating to history and even current events this play showed me just how true that
statement is. Well, actually let s go back a bit and really break this down for a second. When Stephen
Davis told me that this particular play was going to be my thesis and that David Bradley was the role I
was going to play I truly didn t know how to feel, okay that s a lie I was happy, excited and then
nervous as I thought about all that would encompass; the process of putting on a full show as a thesis;
now I ve watched and saw many friends over the years produce their thesis and even ... Show more

Well, not so much a time crunch but time definitely wasn t on our side, with the need to be off book by
the time we came back on January 18th, I quickly found myself at home for a month with my script
and a ticking clock. Every day I found myself immersed in the script working to get off book as
quickly as I could, but I also found myself at a major standstill, normally in regards to memorizing a
script I found that I try to memorize the smaller chucks first then memorize the longer sections, I
thought this tactic would work best for this script; I quickly discovered that for myself that the
opposite would be the crowning victor in this battle. It was easier for me to memorize the beginning
moment of text upon text between Sarah and David. My struggle truly came with trying to keep up
with the text not only between Sarah and David, but also between David and Joaquim, as well as
anyone else David interacted

Nevada s Winnings against Protesting a Lottery
Nevada s Winnings against Protesting a Lottery Introducing the option of Nevada having a lottery has
been enticing for many. Although lotteries might provide extra revenue for school, when one takes a
deeper look into the facts, everyone loses. On average Nevada s casinos profit at about 11 billion a
year. People come from all over the states and even the world to gamble in Nevada. 87% of Nevada s
tourists specifically come to play the slot machines, and on average Nevada makes around 9 billion
dollars a year due to the slots. If Nevada had a lottery, these statistics have a high probability of
changing dramatically. A lottery would provide competition for slots and table games that Nevada s
casinos currently provide. If a lottery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The amount of people who fall in this category is 42.8%; meaning a little less than half the state fit
into the class of a lower wage home. This follows the idea that a large number of Nevadans would
play the lottery. The resulting outcome is a concern because several studies have shown that the lottery
specifically targets lower income households. When comparing how many people with a higher
income play the lottery to people with a lower income, the difference is extreme. A new Carnegie
Mellon University study shows reasons as to why low income lottery players invest in the lottery. The
study was published in Journal of Behavioral Decision Making. One group was made to feel poverty
stricken while the other was made to feel affluent. The overall study showed that underprivileged
people are more expected to purchase lottery tickets. Emily Haisley, a doctoral student in the
Department of Organizational Behavior and Theory Some poor people see playing the lottery as their
best opportunity for improving their financial situations, albeit wrongly so. When viewing the statics
of California s lottery it is found that a majority of participants are low income, and on average each
individual who is an advocate lottery player spends about a hundred dollars a year solely on tickets.
Countless times lotteries have been labeled as hidden taxes states Roger Dunstan of the California

Examples Of Fallacies In 12 Angry Men
The film 12 Angry Men is about a jury deliberation of a first degree murder case with a latino 18 year
old as the suspect who accused of killing his father with a knife. Throughout the movie there are many
instances of logical fallacies from every character and good reasoning from few. Below are few
examples of each I have discovered in the film. The first three examples of a logical fallacies I found
were committed by the lead character Juror 8 played Henry Fonda. First example, Look, this kid s
been kicked around all of his life. You know, born in a slum. Mother dead since he was nine. He lived
for a year and a half in an orphanage when his father was serving a jail term for forgery. That s not a
very happy beginning. He s a wild, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The examples of good reasoning are by Juror 8. First , when referring to Juror 2 s opinion that he just
think s he s guilty because nobody proved him otherwise. Juror 8 says that nobody has to prove
otherwise because the burden of proof is on the prosecution the defendant doesn t even have to talk,
that is in the Constitution specifically the fifth amendment. This is good reasoning because he is being
objective and actually taking in consideration the actual laws that come into play with the case.
Second, is when Juror 8 pulls out a knife exactly like the murder weapon that the boy allegedly used.
The other jurors believe that since the knife is so rare and that the shop owner of the shop the knife
was bought from said that he only had one in stock that must mean that the boy killed his father.
Third, Juror calls for a secret ballot vote in order to see if they actually think the boy is guilty without
the chance for ridicule by the other juror. Fourth, they go through an actual demonstration of how the
switchblade knife would wound the father showing that it would have to be a taller man stabbing
down and in to make such a wound. Fifth, They actual demonstrate how much time it would take for
the father to walk to the door. Juror 8 proves how a man who has two strokes in the past three years
and walks with a cane could not get to the front door of his house in 15

The Diamond Trade Is The Process Of Mining, Global Trading...
The diamond trade is the process of mining, global trading and global selling, and creating a final
product or outcome with the diamond. Different parts of this process take place in different
hemispheres and parts of the world.
One pattern of the global diamond trade is the organisational structure, consisting of locational,
economic and political patterns.
Diamonds tend to be mined and sourced in less economically developed countries in the eastern
hemisphere such as Angola, The Democratic Republic of The Congo, and Botswana. But there are less
common diamond mines in more economically developed countries such as Canada, the United States
of America (located in the northern and western hemisphere) Australia, and South Africa (located in
the southern and eastern hemisphere). In less economically developed countries, diamond miners are
paid significantly less than those miners working in more economically developed countries.
Disproportionate and unfair pay can lead miners who are working in less economically developed
countries, to sell their diamonds to smugglers, as the smugglers will pay more money for the diamond
than those legal diamond trading companies that participate and are involved with in the Kimberley
Process. Diamond trading that is not certified by the Kimberley process is a lot harder in more
economically developed countries, as there is a larger, more strict border control presence, tougher
laws and less corruption.
The Kimberly process is a

Essay On The Paradox Of The Reformation
The Paradox of the Reformation in Ireland: Why it is Essential in Spite of its Failure 1. Introduction
While the Protestant Reformation was a movement that was influenced, and even caused by events
prior to 1517; a domino effect was unleashed when, on October 31, 1517, a young German monk
named Martin Luther nailed his work, The Ninety Five Theses, to the door of All Saints Church in
Wittenberg, Germany. Although Luther had never intended it to do so; his exploit acted as a catalyst
for what was a nearly perfect formula for this reformation to ensue. In the years following that night;
what started out as an intended scholarly objection, led to disputes, and disputes to rebellion, and
eventually, those rebellions into what could be categorized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Edward VI sought to continue to reform but now he did so in the form of new religious policies. These
attempts were futile, short lived, and overshadowed by Edward s short reign and his half sister Mary s
rise to the throne and actions as queen. On her succession, Roman Catholic worship was reinstated not
only in Ireland but in Great Britain as well. This however did also not last long as Mary passed away
five years after ascending to the throne at which point in time her sister Elizabeth took her place.
Elizabeth immediately reverted to the ways of her late brother and father, as she was Protestant. When
she came to the throne, Elizabeth had the Act of Supremacy and Act of Uniformity sent through
parliament they both passed. The former was an act that her father had passed in order to gain
authority of the church. She had to replace it because it was repealed by her sister Mary while she was
Queen. The latter made attendance at church mandatory and established fines for missing. From that
point forward the Church of Ireland, the Anglican church, was the established church of Ireland; this
irritated much of the population because they were not a part of the privileged minority of the

The poem Who s for the game. Essay
The poem Who s for the game.
Who would much rather come back with a crutch, than lie low and be out of the fun?
Throughout the poem Who s for the game , Jessie Pope convinces many soldiers to go to war by
asking questions in every stanza. Who s for the game, the biggest thetas played, the red crashing game
of a fight? , she asks the reader in an excited tone, allowing the soldier to have a very positive effect
on war. Who wants to play in this fight? , as if to say that the idea of war was nothing more than a
boxing game, which was a common sport in the era of world war two.
Most classes (even those who were rich) had more or less of an idea on the rules concerning this
particular sport, and were familiar with it.

The language of Jessie Pope is very informal as it is directed to young men, who in the era of World
war two were very young (aged 16 and over) and uneducated. Who knows it wont be a picnic not
much
. This use of improper slang language could attract the attention of the young and uneducated man
partially because she shares the same common speech with him making him feel more comfortable
with the poem.
Less able soldiers may raise their heads in marvel to the poem purely due to the continuous tempo.
Use of the word lads , is what a higher figure of authority would call a boy e.g. a mother or father.
This is showing that she has authority and is telling the boys what to do rather than giving them an
option.
Owen, unlike Pope has used simile s to give a more effective description of how the soldiers feel and
look like. Drunk with fatigue, deaf even to the hoots , Owen suggests that as alcohol makes one drunk
and unbalanced on the feet, so does the large amounts of fatigue that the soldiers have received.
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud , Owen uses the word cancer as he feels that there is nothing that
can stop the man from dying, a small glimmer of hope but other than that it seems to be incurable. He
has also used visual and sound effects rather than rhyme. If you could hear at ,every jolt, the blood ,
using the world jolt he gives a

Jimi Hendrix s Life And Accomplishments
One of the most influential figures in modern music to this day, Jimi Hendrix, was a complex and
unusual man for his time. Being most well known for his eccentric performances and style, both in
fashion and in music, Jimi stood out in the western world s very uniform Rock n Roll scene. Playing
with his teeth, burning his guitar, rising to fame in a matter of weeks all contributed to his remarkable
life. Jimi Hendrix s life and rise to fame were exceptionally unordinary and extraordinarily influential.
Filled with curiosities from the day he was born to his tragic drug related death, Jimi was unusual.
Accordingly, these curiosities are what makes Jimi Hendrix such a notable figure in history. On

Hendrix was discharged, he and Cox formed the band the King Kasuals, and played regularly in

the King Kasuals, but as an accompanist to many musicians throughout the city (Murray). A few of
these musicians were Little Richard, the Isley Brothers, King Curtis, and Curtis Knight with whose

  • 2. Value Of Hard Work Essay Hard work equals success in many people s eyes. Experiencing work with family, school, and in the workplace has shown me the importance of hard work and dedication. Along with with that, I have gained responsibility, experience, and balance. Although my experience has shown me the importance of hard work and dedication, it has also helped me distinguish the risk of how the the value of work can be taken for granted. I have not always had the right attitude towards work as a whole, but I have learned to love the idea and application of it; with exceptions. As a child, up until a certain point, I have always worked with my father in the restaurant business. My dad fell in love with the restaurant business when he was younger. His dream was to own as many restaurants as he could. The business started off small, but his dream came true overtime. We went from waking up every morning in the summer selling tacos; to waking up and prepping for opening at Hit The Spot Cafe . I hated waking up so early, but my dad said I didn t have a choice. He gets up every day whether he feels like it or not. My father has always worked nonstop, and he s the type to keep himself busy. Over the years I ve learned within my experience growing up in such a business, and possibly most; it can be tough. Working with my dad taught me the value of working hard. His dedication inspired me to wish to become just as focused with work. In all of the jobs I ve acquired outside of my dad s business, I gave ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay about Compare and Contrast Columbine and Virginia Tech The Columbine Shooting and Virginia Tech. shooting were called similar in various ways. They were both declared a national tragedy 13 people killed total in the Columbine and 33 in the Virginia Tech shooting. Though the two incidents were similarly done by psychopaths, there were differences in the details of both shootings, the reactions of society, and upcoming psychological development. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were responsible for the 13 deaths during the Columbine Shooting on April 20, 1999. The main difference between Harris and Klebolds plan and Cho s attacks were Harris and Klebold left documentation of their plans. Dylan was armed with an Intratec TEC DC9 (9 mm semi automatic handgun) attached to a strap slung over his shoulder (under coat), Savage 311 D 12 gauge double barrel shotgun (barrel sawed down to approximately 23 inches, initially half hidden in Dylan s cargos). Seung Hui Cho made April 16, 2008 go down in history being known today as the worst school shooting ever. In a two and a half hour time frame 33 people died including Cho and many others injured. Unlike the Columbine Shooting there were no real warning signs that Cho would do such a devastating thing. He left no documentation of his plans that investigators know of today. The only so called warning signs were On November 27, 2005 a female student reported to campus police that she was receiving unwanted phone calls and visits from Cho. In December 2005, another female made a complaint about getting unwanted instant messages from Cho. On that same day another person told campus police that Cho might be ... • 4. The Secret History Analysis The second oral interpretation assignment I did was much more free in a creative aspect than the first assignment I did, this time I was able to pick the passage from any book and I picked my favorite book, The Secret History by Donna Tartt. This passage was meant to entertain the audience and also convey a message, which was the main purpose of the assignment. In addition to the passage I chose, I also wrote a brief introduction that provided some background information about the book and the overall message the passage was conveying. Overall, after reflecting on the presentation, I came to the conclusion that I did a decent job on this oral communication project but it was not as good as my first presentation. Two areas I really want to focus on improving are being better prepared and cutting my time. I will do this by practicing a lot more in front of the mirror and in front of my dad for his advice on what to fix at least a week before the presentation, so that I am better prepared. I will also cut my presenting time by cutting out excess words and descriptions. After assessing my presentation, I would give myself an A , because I did work hard, prepare and tried to improve, which showed in my presentation. Overall I am proud of this presentation and was mostly happy with how it turned ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Harry Potter Music Analysis In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, John Williams employs diegetic music by having the characters in the film sing a song that combines with the background music. The song Double Trouble is sung by the school choir while the film score for the movie that reflects mysteriousness and eeriness plays. The mood in the air is almost a sense of fear and paranoia as the students in school don t feel safe after news broke of a prison breakout. The music supports that sense of fear as the lyrics in the film along with the rest of the music alludes to the fact that trouble is near. 2b. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2d. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, John Williams creates the mood of leitmotif by consistently playing the same music themes based on the scene. Leitmotif is defined by the theme in the music that is associated with certain scenes, moods, or people. For an example, whenever the movie tries to create a feeling of sadness felt by Harry s loneliness after having lost his parents, there is sad music playing in the background that plays softly. By consistently having this music played whenever Harry is feeling down, we begin to associate the connection between the two. Another specific scene where the same sad theme is played in the background, is when Harry looks into the mirror where he sees his parents. John Williams does this for all sorts of moods whether it be happiness, sadness, or excitement as well as having music for specific characters and settings. 2e. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, John Williams creates the mood of foreshadowing in the scenes by having the music played leading up to a major event. For an example during the scene where the characters are chased by a troll monster, there is frightening music being played. We have not yet actually seen the monster, but rather can only hear his footsteps at this point. Having the music in the background however, foreshadows the eventual doom that the characters will face. 2f. In Harry Potter and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Romantic, Realist, And Modernist Period Love, since the beginning of time, has had a place in every literature no matter the time period. The world that we live in is complex and often times, love and reason do not exist interconnect, however, literature acts as the glue in bringing these two elements together. Authors sometimes use the concept of love as a subject for their work, rationally, and carefully using it as a tool in their writing. In this essay, works by different authors during the Romantic, Realist, and Modernist period will be used to exhibit some of the forms of love used in literature. Romanticism was a movement that formed out of the need for authors to be able to freely, and completely, express their emotions and desires within their writings. By definition, romance is a feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love . This period, or era, changed how we, as people, viewed love and self. During this time, there was an emphasis placed on ideas that were centered on individualism, nature, and natural human emotion. Nature, and natural beings, was seen as inspiration and invoked imagination, impulsiveness, freedom, and excess while creating a movement that was open to the ordinary individual, even the social outcast. Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre is a perfect example of Romanticism s influence within a work. This work exemplifies the quest to achieve not only romantic love, but self love or growth while experiencing natural human emotions. After being belittled for so long, the ... • 8. Theories Of Personality And Psychosocial Development Psychoanalysis and Psychosexuality Carolyn Bennett PSY/330 Theories of Personality Maurita Hodge 04/27/2015 I have chosen psychosexual and psychosocial development; for my model of presentation. In Freudian psychology, psychosexual development is a central element of the psychoanalytic sexual drive theory, that human beings, from birth, possess an instinctual libido (sexual energy) that develops in five stages. Each stage the oral, the anal, the phallic, the latent, and the genital is characterized by the erogenous zone that is the source of the libidinal drive. Sigmund Freud proposed that if the child experienced sexual frustration in relation to any psychosexual developmental stage, he or she would experience anxiety that would persist into adulthood as a neurosis, a functional mental disorder (Wikipedia) Between World War one and world war two, Americans went to Europe to train for psychoanalysis. Ego psychology was the main therapeutic perspective that was brought back to America. For 50 years this type of psychoanalysis was based centrally on Sigmund Freud s The Ego and the Id (1923) and The Problem of Anxiety (1936), followed by Anna Freud s Ego and the Mechanisms of Defense (1936) and Heinz Hartmann s Psychoanalysis and the Problem of Adaptation (1939). (American Psychoanalytic Association) This belief was dominant until 1970. Today, the ego psychology that was dominant in American psychoanalytic thought for so many years has been ... • 9. Theme Of Jealousy In East Of Eden Jealousy is one of the main reasons for anger and destruction. The rivalry between siblings can cause extreme feelings of jealousy, which can create a catastrophe. The biblical story of Cain and Abel shows this when Cain s jealousy brings him to slaughter his brother and his loss of control ends with deadly consequences. In his novel, East of Eden, John Steinbeck retells the story of Cain and Abel through the relationships between Charles and Adam, as well as through Cal and Aron. Charles obsessive jealousy over his brother ultimately causes him to try to kill him, and Cal s overwhelming sense of rivalry causes his father to shun him, as God did to Cain. The first allusion made to the story of Cain and Abel is through Charles and Adam s relationship. Charles represents Cain. He is portrayed as evil, manipulative, and jealous. He tries to buy the love of his father and becomes competitive with Adam when he discovers that Cyrus loves him more. His jealously drives him to harm Adam. Similarly, Adam represents Abel, the good brother. The reader sees him as more innocent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast (Genesis 4). This quote can be perfectly ascribed to John Steinbeck s characters, Cal and Aron. Cal and Aron both try very hard to impress their father later in life. Though Cal tried harder than Aron, his dedication did not pay off. This sibling rivalry affected Cal, and caused him to become subconsciously jealous of his brother. • 10. Germany s Distinguishable Military Culture Germany s distinguishable military culture is marked by the imperative to succeed and extremism. Their position in Belgium and The Great War began with the aristocracy being threatened, and ended with Germany overestimating their strategy. Reliance on tactic and luck rather than strategy proves to be the country s Achilles heel once they encounter Belgium resistance. The strong characteristics of Germany s style bleed through their actions across Belgium and shaped how countries perceived Germany during and after The Great War. The arising socialist party was beginning to be a major threat towards the aristocracy because of the rising level of nationalism. The Kaiser partially saw the war as a way to put aside the possible uprising and maintain current state of affairs. The victory the Prussian army had in 1849 came against the advocating of revolution and reform. After some time, the social, economic, and political forces that pressed for reform joined as one in parliament to face the monarch. The issue of monarch versus the people for control of the army and violence is what determined Prussia s political fate. Bismarck turned these politics around in Germany to unify the army with war: this action shone a positive light on nationalism and put the army in the monarch s hands. The Kaiser s major power came from his control over policy and the military. Germany s military is individualized because of the key aspects it follows. Relations to extremism, tactical actions ... Benefits Of Yoga YOGA As a practioner of yoga for nearly 20 years , I have come to see, feel and reap the benefits of this practice, not only on a physical level but on a physiological and spiritual level too. Yoga is a way of life, an intergrated system of education for the body, mind and inner spirit. This art of right living was perfected and practised in India thousands of years ago but, since yoga deals with universal truths, its teachings are as valid today as they were in ancient times. Yoga is a practical aid, not a religion. Yoga is union with all. WHAT IS YOGA ? The word Yoga comes from the sanskrit root word yuj which literally means yoking, in the sense of the coming together of a harmonious relationship between our seperate aspects. Different aspects of our perception make yoga either exoteric or esoteric. The yoga teachings regarding bringing the body, mind and emotions into harmony, such as Hatha Yoga, are exoteric. Factors Affecting The Growth Of A Developed Countries 10) Urbanization in the less developed countries has much been the result of demographic growth that rather than economic development like in developed countries. The demographic trend of rapid declines in death rates compared to birth rates has generated large increases in population. A Lot of the urbanization of developing country populations is due to rural urban migration. The decision to migrate mainly involves push and pull factors . Push factors such as bad economic, political, and environmental circumstances force migrants out of rural areas. Pull factors may include a desire for employment and the idea of better access to schools, health clinics, piped water and other facilities that are not widely available in rural regions. which attract migrants to urban areas. Displacement, political circumstances and war related conflicts have also led migrates to urban areas. The disproportionate number of youth in these migrations bring forth another component of urban growth, natural increase. Natural increase refers to a rise in population because the birth rates are higher than the death rates. Natural increase accounts for about 60 percent of urban population growth in less developed countries. One resilience factor is hardiness , discuss how this factor can be protective against PTSD. Stress is a widely studied phenomenon, as stress is an experience that every individual go through in their everyday lives. According to Baum (1990), stress can be defined as a negative emotional experience accompanied by predicable biochemical, physiological and behavioural changes that are directed towards adaption either by manipulating the situation to alter the stressor or by accommodating its effects. Everybody is affected by stressful events in different ways, some are better at coping than others, this is because everyone is individually different. This is where resilience to stressful events comes into place. Resilience helps to explain the ability to adapt in the face of tragedy, hardship, trauma, adversity and a continuation of significant life stressors. Bonanno (2002).There are many factors that influence people s resilience to these life events, for example personality traits, optimism, lows of control, hardiness and social support. In this essay there will be a focus on hardiness as it is a main factor for overcoming mental illness. Especially for PTSD which is heavily influenced by stressful life experiences. Stress has a big impact on people s mental and physical health, the way in which people cope with stress can protect them from illness. Throughout life, people are faced ... • 16. My Original Understanding Of The Discipline Before The Course Introduction To be detached from the hustle and noise of our lives, yet find peace within ourselves while we inhabit this world. Perhaps the most surprising yet fulfilling spiritual discipline I have learnt this year, whilst partaking in this course is that of finding the time to sit silently of all distractions in solitude and focus only on God. Summarise your original understanding of the discipline before the course started Prior to this course and even prior to becoming a Christian seven years ago, I would use solitude as a form of escaping from where I didn t want to be in life. Especially as a child and teenager living in an environment of verbal abuse and violence whist watching the effects of an alcoholic parent slowly destroy my respect for who they were. Solitude and silence was my revenge and in someway my shelter. I believe this solitude prior to my Christianity was a tool I used to make me harder . It allowed me to shut off emotions, empathy towards those I resented and survive in that world. In hindsight, Solitude back then in my life, probably made me more non Christian. A Significant Christian figure in history who has contributed to this discipline Dr Van Shore lecturer of Alpacrucis College, states: David the King and Poet who wrote Psalm 23, could not have savoured and tasted the love of God as he describes this, without solitude. David calls his listeners to be still and hear God despite the turmoil of the battles they were enduring at the time. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. The Theory Of Free Market Economics When I came back to Oregon after spending four years in the Marine Corps, I quickly became interested in politics. In 2013 I was introduced to the concepts of free market economics, a system where the consumer decides the prices of goods or services without the intervention of the government or any other authority. In Sandel s Justice I found that his writing on libertarianism to be somewhat confusing and written with an agenda. Sandel quotes Nozick saying, only a minimal state, limited to enforcing contracts and protecting people against force, theft and fraud is justified. I believe Sandel uses this as an attempt to explain the Non aggression principle, without actually explaining anything in depth. The non aggression principle the NAP is easily the most important aspect of having a free market. The number one misconception that people have about libertarian beliefs and the free market is that with deregulation comes anarchy (a perpetual state of chaos, without rules.) The non aggression principle is the key component that makes libertarianism work. A free market if followed offers a maximization of economic and monetary security if the NAP; it leads to complete non interventionist economy. The best way to maximize peace is to remove any justification for dynamic, aggressive force (i.e. Institutions of the state) the concepts of government welfare programs can be taken over by the moral obligation to help your fellow man. Historically the state breeds war, in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From politics and violence, to relationships and identity, cinema can offer poignant commentary on many social and cultural issues. The 1979 Oscar winning film Norma Rae adds to this tradition with its messages about women, labor and other aspects of 1970s life. When it was released this movie was ground breaking. Its strong female protagonist inspired people all over the nation. As time has gone on, the film continues to stand as a beacon women, as well as for working class families and their attitudes toward life. Additional commentary on the film comes from Jefferson Cowie s book Stayin Alive. In this book Cowie focuses on Sally Field s depiction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The community depicted in the film consists of textile workers in the south and the film was even shot in a real textile mill using workers as extras. This realism and accuracy gives an authentic depiction of working class life in the late 1970s. This realism gives the audience of the time an ability to relate to the events and ideas of the movie. Some working communities begin to realize that the fight to unionize was literally a fight for the lives of working people. As workers of the time saw the movie and saw the power of both individual effort and collaboration, they likely took these values back to their home town. While some of the events in the movie do not relate to all communities, the emphasis on thinking in new ways and taking new approaches to fair labor practices had a great impact on people in the late 1970s. If a small southern town could overcome oppressive business forces and unionize to seek better treatment, then all working towns should be able to do the same. In the story Our Secret by Susan Griffin, it talks about the connection of the past lives of those in Nazi Germany and about Griffin s own family. Griffin has also talked about an artist named Kathe Kollwitz. Kathe Kollwitz has created many self portraits relating and expressing the emotions of the people of Nazi Germany. During this time, many people have gone through hardships such as poverty and war. Through poverty some may have experience or gone through some emotional situations. During war, people may have lost someone close to them or even the peace they had before the chaos have occurred. Griffin has related a painting by Kollwitz with her personal life. In the story, Griffin is trying to portray through this connection how people feel emotionally and physically in the midst of war and violence. War and expressions of emotions are common themes in most great works of art. In the painting by Kollwitz called Poverty, it shows a woman holding her head in her hands. The woman is looking at an infant sleeping in its bed. You can see the light from the background shining through the window unto the baby. Although there is light shining on the baby, it also shows that the baby is dying and the woman is actually crying. The portrait also shows two figures standing in the background in darkness. Basically, every student in any classroom seems to learn slightly differently than their classmate these days. Too many teachers are avoiding including multiple teaching styles in their classrooms due to the potential increase in effort and preparation that follows, but it is crucial that Physical Educators are aware of the importance of teaching styles in the classroom. A teacher who can properly incorporate multiple teaching styles into their classrooms is an example of a successful and effective teacher. Students in today s physical education classrooms vary greatly among great levels. In order for teachers to effectively teach every single one of their students, they need to incorporate different teaching styles into their daily routine. Throughout the movie there are many instances of logical fallacies from every character and good reasoning from few. Below are few examples of each I have discovered in the film. Juror 8 says that nobody has to prove otherwise because the burden of proof is on the prosecution the defendant doesn t even have to talk, that is in the Constitution specifically the fifth amendment. This is good reasoning because he is being objective and actually taking in consideration the actual laws that come into play with the case. Second, is when Juror 8 pulls out a knife exactly like the murder weapon that the boy allegedly used. The other jurors believe that since the knife is so rare and that the shop owner of the shop the knife was bought from said that he only had one in stock that must mean that the boy killed his father. Third, Juror calls for a secret ballot vote in order to see if they actually think the boy is guilty without the chance for ridicule by the other juror. Fourth, they go through an actual demonstration of how the switchblade knife would wound the father showing that it would have to be a taller man stabbing down and in to make such a wound. The diamond trade is the process of mining, global trading and global selling, and creating a final product or outcome with the diamond. Different parts of this process take place in different hemispheres and parts of the world. One pattern of the global diamond trade is the organisational structure, consisting of locational, economic and political patterns. Diamonds tend to be mined and sourced in less economically developed countries in the eastern hemisphere such as Angola, The Democratic Republic of The Congo, and Botswana. But there are less common diamond mines in more economically developed countries such as Canada, the United States of America (located in the northern and western hemisphere) Australia, and South Africa (located in the southern and eastern hemisphere). In less economically developed countries, diamond miners are paid significantly less than those miners working in more economically developed countries. Disproportionate and unfair pay can lead miners who are working in less economically developed countries, to sell their diamonds to smugglers, as the smugglers will pay more money for the diamond than those legal diamond trading companies that participate and are involved with in the Kimberley Process.
