Features And Functions Of Any Interconnection Devices That...
In this report I will be outlining the features and functions of any interconnection devices that you
might think of using. In the report I will include Network Interface Card, Router, Switch, Hubs,
Gateway, Bridge and Wireless access points.
Network Interface Card
This provides the hardware interface between a network and computer. It is technically a network
adapter hardware in the form factor of an add in card like a PCI or PCMI card. A number of network
interface cards work with wired connection and some others are wireless. The majority of network
interface cards support either wired Ethernet or Wi Fi wireless standards. Ethernet network interface
cards plug into the system bus of the computer and have jacks for network cables, and wifi network
interface cards have built in transmitters/ receivers. With modern computers many network interface
cards are preinstalled by the manufacturer. All networks interface cards have a speed rating like 11
Mbps, 54 Mbps or 100 Mbps that imply the general performance of the unit.
Router
A router is a small physical device that can join multiple PCs together. A router is basically a 3
gateway layer device, this means that it can connect two or more networks and that the router operates
at the network layer of the OSI model. Home networks normally use a wireless or wired internet
protocol router, internet protocol being the most familiar OSI network layer protocol. An internet
protocol router like a DSL or cable modem broadband

The Issue Of The Second Amendment
The Second Amendment is one of the most controversial amendments in today s society. There are
commonly two sides that fight with each other over the definition of this amendment. The pro gun, or
what is commonly referred to as gun nuts , have the firm belief that the American people have the
right to not only carry a gun, but to carry any type of gun that they want, while anti gun groups want
to get rid of the right to carry a gun all together unless that person is a soldier or police officer. The
part of the Second Amendment that is quoted by both sides is always A well regulated militia being
necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be
infringed . Did you know that there are actually two versions used by the federal and state
government? The only difference is the punctuation. Congress passed, A well regulated Militia, being
necessary to the security of a free Sate, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be
infringed . The States ratified what Congress had passed to, A well regulated militia being necessary to
the security of a Free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed . Do
the differences in punctuation and capitalization change the meaning? Many people believe that the
Second Amendment means that only the military should have the right to carry guns. They believe that
A well regulated militia is referring to trained soldiers, when in fact, the Second

Characteristics Of The Leadership Qualities Of Santa Anna
Leadership Qualities of Santa Anna
It began in the pre dawn darkness of March 6, 1836 Mexican general Santa Anna ordered an assault
force of 1800 men to unleash its fury on a tiny band of Texans defending a fort called the Alamo. The
history behind this tells how Texas was torn away from Mexico, and became part of the United States.
This may have been a victory of Santa Anna; however was an even greater victory for the humanity of
the defenders. Many believed this was a race war; however was an issue of competing political
systems. Santa Anna prepared to give command that would unleash attack. While the weary
Americans were catching up on sleep for the first time in two weeks, a Mexican began hollering and
yelling, which awoke a sleeping inside soldier. In the video Remember the Alamo , Santa Anna was
believed to be a skilled general and a hero of Mexico s fight for Independence from Spain. Santa Anna
became president in 1833 implicating federalism but only for a short time. He later changed and
suspended the Constitution of 1834 seeing federalist autonomy as a threat to the stability of Mexico
and his own grip on power. He very quickly shifted from being a federalist to a centralist to a dictator.
Those like Travis that had once stood behind Santa Anna, are now right in front of his guns. Santa
Anna guns would then be turned to Tejanos (Texans of Mexican birth), whom were horrified that
Constitution would be voided by the president. Upon Santa Anna becoming a

Eurasia Dbq Pax Mongolia
In order for the Mongolian Empire to thrive, trade needed to be dominant throughout Eurasia so they
could get basic resources. At the same time they had full control over China which expanded their
empire even though they had to sacrifice many resources. They restricted religious rights and
dismantled their Civil Service system. They also enforced laws that forbid intermarriage and the
Chinese from learning the Mongolian language. They were also violent to others especially during
their invasions. However, under all the brutality they helped do some great things for Eurasia. Thus
the Mongolian empire had a positive effect on Eurasia because of the Pax Mongolica, the support and
spread of religions, and the inventions created by the Chinese. ... Show more content on

So when the Mongols took control of China, they had to tolerate certain religions to help keep up their
society so the Chinese wouldn t revolt. Tolerating many religions also helped spread the religions once
time for trade came around. Once foreign people started coming, the religion had been adopted by
those people, and brought back to their lands. This is how almost every culture and everything spreads
throughout the world. Although the Mongols resisted assimilation between their culture and the
Chinese, they still tolerated certain religions. Document 6 says An important legacy of the Mongols
reign in China was their support of many religions. The support of many religions is an important
positive effect the Mongols left on Eurasia because these religions are being spread across Eurasia
through trade, and because of this more religions were gaining more supporters across different
regions. More supporters for a religion indicates it is being successfully spread to other places, and the
religion is being successfully embraced into the society it is being spread too. The support of more
religions was also a positive effect the Mongols left on Eurasia because by adopting Islamic people, it
created peace with other countries. The Mongols also recruited and employed Islamic financial
administrators a move that led to good relations with the Islamic world beyond China, in particular

Importance Of Tidal Energy
Electricity Culminating
Renewable Energy Project

December 17, 2017
Why should tidal energy be a common renewable energy source in the future?
Tidal energy is a form of hydroelectricity that is provided from the rise and fall of tides. Due to the
Moon s gravitational force, bodies of water rise and fall, the force created can be turned into a form of
renewable energy. Tidal power was first introduced in the 19th century in U.S and Europe. In 1966,
the Rance Tidal Power Station, was operated in France, being the first large scale tidal system. Tidal
energy is more predictable than solar panels and wind turbines. The sun isn t always out to provide
light and the wind depends on the weather. Tides are almost always there and the ocean is more
understood than the temperature or the sun. Tidal energy is much more reliable and renewable than
other sources such as fossil fuels which cause acid rain, and nuclear power and its radiation. Since the
ocean is much denser than air, tidal turbines generate more electricity and therefore are more efficient
compared to wind turbines. Hydro power in general is considered more efficient and converts the most
energy to electricity than other renewable energy sources.
Tidal power is also inexpensive compared to other renewable energy sources as shown below in this
chart.
Tidal power plants also have a very long lifespan. The oldest plant, La Rance, in

Emerson Nature
Since the beginning of time, man had lived harmoniously with nature; the two coexisted and formed a
bong that could never be severed. As this bond grew, it permeated mankind s soul in that man needs
nature and it is to their benefit that they utilize it to the best of their ability. Thereafter, it became
universally acknowledged that man needs nature. In Emerson s time the 1800 s many thing had yet to
be discovered, so when Emerson pondered and took a deeper look into nature, he noted his discoveries
in his essay: Nature . In his essay, he focuses in on the relationship between man and nature which
holds very true today.
First, Emerson points out that nature provides for man, as if Mother Nature is a commodity or a
valuable thing. In this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Metamorphosis In Never Cry Wolf
In the movie Never Cry Wolf a young Canadian biologist named Tyler goes to the Canadian artic after
being assigned by the government to find and study why the caribou population is dying, with the
government thinking that the wolves are attacking and killing the caribou. Tyler encounters two
wolves, naming them George and Angeline, who have pups. He watches them closely, and marks his
territory with urine, to create trust with the wolves, George and Angeline are curious of Tyler, just as
he is of them. An example of metamorphosis is how Tyler sees that the wolves have only eaten mice,
so he starts an experiment with only eating mice as a food source for the time that he is there, the
change in Tyler is that he is becoming more a part of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This wolf howl is needed towards the end of the movie, when Tyler realizes that George and Angeline
are no longer coming back, and the pack is needed to come and take care of the pups. As Tyler
becomes more aware of the wolves, he realizes that they are not the killers that people assume they are
and his experiments, evidence and experiences will all go back with him, back to civilization. This
archetype is covered a few times in the movie, Never Cry Wolf. Beginning with the Inuit Myth, this is
shown in the movie, as Tyler finds out when he sees for himself that the pack makes unsuccessful
attacks on the caribou, so he tries to make the caribou go towards the wolves, and they eventually
make a catch, but upon examination by Tyler, the caribou is weak and diseased, showing that the
wolves only kill and eat the weak caribou, and the strong caribou stay strong. Destruction also occurs
with the family of George and Angeline, their pups are left scared and lonely, as their parents are gone
for good, killed by Mike, who has a new smile with a new set of teeth (although at first Tyler thought
it was Rosie that had killed and taken them), this brings rage to Tyler who knows he has to protect the
pups and eventually calls on the pack to come

Essay Biodiesel vs. Ethanol
Biodiesel vs. Ethanol
Both biodiesel and ethanol are derivatives of biomass that have been processed to create a liquid
biofuel. Both types of biofuels have been touted as secure and environmentally safe alternatives to
fossil fuels, however the research verifying these claims is extensive but often contradicting. In the
following paper, the efficiency and quality of the two types of biofuel will be discussed. The effects of
variables such as source materials and production techniques on efficiency and quality will be
considered. Due to the limited scope of this paper however, only generalized net analyses of ethanol
and biodiesel production will be considered. The production of ethanol requires one of two source
materials, cellulose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An important similarity between production of biodiesel and production of ethanol is that at some
point during processing both systems require an input of either fossil, hydro, electric, solar, or wind
energy. Thus, in order to determine if the use of biofuels for mobile transportation purposes is more
efficient than using fossil fuels, net energy analyses must be considered (Malca and Freire, 2006).
It is significant to note that net energy analyses of both types of biofuels will differ based on source
matter, differential processing technologies, crop production techniques, and the amount of biofuel
being utilized. For example, bioethanol that is produced from wheat has a greater energy renewability
efficiency value (ERenEF) (48%) than does ethanol produced from corn. ERenEF measures the
fraction of final fuel energy obtained from renewable resources (Maca and Freire, 2006). This
indicates that a greater percentage of the energy from wheat based ethanol is renewable, as compared
to energy from corn based ethanol.
Similarly, different processing technologies affect the energy renewability efficiency of ethanol. The
use of ethyl tertiary butyl ether as a fuel oxygenate will increase an ERenEF when compared with the
use of methyl tertiary butyl ether is as a fuel oxygenate. Different crop production techniques (e.g. no

Palestine And Palestine Of Palestine
Palestine and Israel have been in conflict since 1948 for the ownership of Palestinian territory. When
the Ottoman Empire collapsed, Palestine became part of the administration of Great Britain after WWI
despite British promises of a definite Palestinian independence. During WWII, several Jewish people
fled to Palestine due to the Nazi persecution. Consequently, by the end of this war, there were six
hundred thousand Jews in Palestinian territory, which created a coexistence tension. As a
consequence, the United Nations divided Palestine in two equal sized regions: Arabic and Jewish.
Once Great Britain withdrew Palestinian territory, the State of Israel was created, and was seeking
more territory. This became the cause of the conflict. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the beginning of the Arab Israeli conflict, a two state solution has been implemented in order to
appease the issue. However, after more than 50 years, the world has realized that the conflict has only
increased, and become worse and harder to solve. On the one hand, there is the two state solution
which consists in splitting both nations in two different states. One for Palestine and one for Israel side
by side. The framework of the solution is set out in UN resolutions on the Peaceful settlement of the
question of Palestine, going back to 1974 (Abunimah 130) which is a document that stablishes the two
state solution as a way to solve the Arab Israeli conflict. And on the other hand there is the one state
solution which is also known as the binational state solution. Proponents of a binational solution to the
conflict advocate a single state in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, with citizenship and equal
rights in the combined entity for all inhabitants of all three territories, without regard to ethnicity or
religion (Tilley 250). This solution was presented on November 2007 and has been in discussion since
then. However, after the outburst of the war in the Gaza Strip in 2014, more people is starting to
believe it is the only viable solution for the issue.

Beer Is The Alcoholic Beverage Of Choice
Beer is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks and has played a role in human history for roughly 8,000
years. Beer is the alcoholic beverage of choice in North America and many other parts around the
world. It has shaped the culture of human civilization, social interaction and has had a significant
contribution to our economy. In order to get a proper perspective on beer you have to look at three
main periods; ancient history (the development period), modernization of beer and its effects, and
what role beer plays today and where it is going.
Archaeologists have uncovered ancient Babylonian beer recipes engrave on clay tablets as early as
3500 B.C. This early beer was very crude and many people today would probably not consider
drinking it today as it had bread chunks and had the consistency similar to porridge. To drink this
ancient beer people would consume it using straws to filter out sediment and large chunks.
Once Beer started to become more popular and commercialized, the first set of laws regulating it were
set in place by the Babylonians. Paragraph 108 in the Code of Hammurabi stated and if anyone were
caught selling beer for cash instead of corn in order to cheat their customers, they would be drowned
as a punishment. The law also put restrictions on ordinary women from drinking beer with the
exception of priestesses who could consume it freely. These laws date back to 1754 BC and since this
date, beer has been regulated by society.
Beer, during the Babylonian

Tea Party Dbq
The Boston Tea party helped repeal tax on tea and made a stand on the British. But was it necessary?
When thinking of the Boston Tea party, tea being dumped into a river or an ocean comes to mind. But
there is so much more than that. The questions that should come to mind are; was it necessary, who
and how it was organized, what effects did it have on the British East India Company and on the
United States.
The British taxed American colonist on many things, including sugar, paper, lead, and paint. But their
biggest mistake was passing the tax on tea. In the year of 1773, the Tea Act was passed. The Boston
Tea Party was a response to the Tea Act. It was very necessary because everyone drank tea even more
so than people in Britain. The Boston Tea Party was a stand on the tax. American colonist had the

Prokaryotes And Archaea Similarities
INTRODUCTION
Definitions for Archaea vary, but what is commonly agreed upon is that these are some sort of micro
organisms.
Some argue them to be their own distinct domain, whereas others think they are merely part of the
prokaryotic domain. However many see them as a evolutionary step in between, as prokaryotic
relatives to eukaryotes. (x) Since their evolutionary history remains very unclear, it is hard to classify
them belonging to a group of their own or belonging to either prokaryotes or eukaryotes.
In 1977, Woese suggested dividing cells into three new domains; archaea, eukaryotes and prokaryotes.
(x)
Before this cells were divided into two main groups: prokaryotic cells, and eukaryotic cells.
Prokaryotic cells have no nucleus or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their structural similarities are the reasoning behind why one might say that they belong to the
prokaryotic domain, being structurally very similar, especially on the first glance. The unique
properties will be discussed further later in this essay.
SIMILARITIES BETWEEN EUKARYOTES AND ARCHAEA
Though structurally, prokaryotic cells seem more similar to archaea than eukaryotic cells, yet when
one inspects their DNA, similarities between DNA replication, transcription and translation appear.
The DNA polymerase in archaea and eukaryotes are not related to any prokaryotic DNA polymerase,
suggesting that these two are of common origin. Other components used in DNA replication are
similarly only shared between eukaryotes and archaea (y). For example, the promoter (the part of the
DNA that initiates transcription), in archaebacteria has similar sequence and position to its eukaryotic
counterpart (x).
These characteristics were thought to be unique to eukaryotes, yet were found in archaea as well.
When so little is known about the evolutionary history of these organisms that constitute for the basis
of life on earth, categorising them becomes immensely hard.

Black And Latino By Roberto Santiago
Multiracial children are becoming more common in today s society, many years ago multiracial
children were judged for having more than one culture and feeling excluded out from others. Times
have changed and according to a recent study from Pew Research Center, about 60% of mixed adults
are proud of their different cultures. This statistic perfectly fits the author Roberto Santiago who wrote
Black and Latino . On the other hand around 55% feel subjected by racial slurs from non mixed
people. Author Jade Snow Wong who wrote Fifth Chinese Daughter never dealt with racism towards
herself but her father was racist about Americans and she expresses one culture more than the other.
While Santiago accepts both of his cultures and Wong mainly accepts one, they each still faced racism
in different ways. Accepting both cultures can be good for a person and a lot easier when dealing with
people who simply do not understand multiculturalism. Santiago never felt like he had to choose a
race and stick to it, he always felt like he was Black and Latino and that is because he is. In his essay
Black and Latino he writes about growing up with two cultures and having other people not accept
him fully. He thought he was perfectly fine but others expected him to pick a side because he did not
fit the standards of being Black or Latino . I am both and always have been. (par.1) He does not prefer
one culture over the other but insists because his parents raised him to not see

Aboriginal Of Australia And Torre Strait Islanders
Introduction In this essay Indigenous people will describe Aboriginals of Australia and Torre Strait
Islanders. During the early years when just Indigenous Australians lived on Australia land there health
was quite healthy and they were quite happy. Then Europeans took over the land of Australia and
forced them to assimilate. This all started in the early 1900 s. Till this day it has affected Indigenous
people. It has affected their physical health, mental health, and identity. As a nurse we can change this
and not be judgmental and understand their history to provide better care.
Pre Invasion Health
Before the invasion Indigenous Australia had great health. There were no infectious diseases until
colonization of the European settlers. There also was no such thing as diabetes, high blood pressure,
ischemic heart disease or any diseases that were happening in Europe in the 18th century (Central
Australian Aboriginal Congress 2014). There was sickness and diseases but not as many as indigenous
Australians are suffering today. Aboriginal health had three sets of inter relationships, which were
between the land, and people, between people and creator of beings and between people themselves
(UK Essays 2013).
Assimilation Policy The assimilation policy in 1961 means in the view of all Australian governments
that all aborigines and part aborigines are expected eventually to attain the same manner of living as
other Australians and to live as members of a single

Militancy in Yemen
The militant groups related to al Qaeda have gained considerable strength in the southern region of
Yemen. These militant groups are reported to be stronger than the country s military, and this can be
seen from the level of the expansion made by the militancy. During his regime, Ali Abdullah Saleh
described Yemen as an island in a sea of al Qaeda (Raghavan). In late February of 2012, a regime
change happened in Yemen as Saleh stepped down from the presidency, and Hadi was elected the new
president in a one candidate election. In the midst of the Arab Spring movement to the transfer of
power from Saleh to Hadi and the present situations in Yemen, the Islamist militant groups have
garnered greater control over some of the state s southern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All this has been handed down by the last president of Yemen, Saleh. There is some parallelism that
exists between the rise of economic problems and the rise of support for militant groups in several
Muslim nations. This is because non affordability, starvation, and preoccupation about the future, may
lead some to join or support the cause of the militant groups. Since there are a lot of institutional
weaknesses in Yemen, its people can be swayed towards the opinions of these so called Sharia
following groups. For example, aside from the Abyan province, the al Qaeda militant groups expanded
to the neighboring province of Shabwa. Over there, the militant groups, i.e. Ansar al Sharia, have
succeeded in implementing stricter codes of Islamic law (Raghavan). Their expansion and success in
implementing Sharia shows that they must have established institutions that enforce the Sharia. This is
possible in a state as weak as Yemen, because its state controlled institutions lack effectiveness and
efficiency due to the corruption of the government under Saleh. The militant groups discovered their
opportunistic moment to spread during the Arab Spring movement to the political transition in Yemen.
The protests and international support against Saleh s corrupt and ineffective regime resulted in his
deposition. Despite being granted immunity, tensions between the loyals of Saleh, the

Transcription:
DNA consists of two strands. One is the coding strand and the other is the template stand. In
transcription there is an enzyme called RNA polymerase that unzips the two strands. This allows RNA
nucleotides (uracil, adenine, guanine and cytosine) to enter the DNA and connect to the corresponding
DNA nucleotides (thymine, adenine, guanine and cytosine) on the template strand. After the
nucleotides have been paired, phosphodiester bonds, bond the RNA nucleotides together and this
creates a continuous strain of mRNA which is capable of leaving the cell s nucleus, whereas the DNA
cannot as the molecule is too big. Once the mRNA has moved out of the nucleus it moves to a
ribosome. (1)

The Supreme Court Extends 2nd Amendment Rights to the...
The Supreme Court ruled on June 28th that the 2nd Amendment s protection of the right to bear arms
applies on state and city levels. The 5 4 decision along ideological lines echoed 2008 s decision to
strike down DC s handgun ban, citing the 14th Amendment as a major factor in the decision to extend
the federal right to own a hand gun for personal protection down to local levels. Though it officially
returned McDonald v. City of Chicago to the lower courts for a decision, it is expected that Chicago s
28 year old handgun ban will be overturned, and that legislation against handgun restrictions in other
states will be legally challenged for years to come. During this project, I watched and reports about the

That clip was then followed by a quote from Justice John Paul Stevens dissenting opinion as well as a
short statement by Congresswoman Dianne Feinstein (D CA) which was made during Elena Kegan s
confirmation hearing. The reporter drew attention to the fact that the court did not strike down
Chicago s hand gun ban, but rather sent it back to a lower court noting the fact that legal analysts
expect lower courts to overturn the law in light of Supreme Court decision. Smith then drew attention
to the fact that the right to own handguns does not, in the estimation of the Court, overturn restrictions
on waiting periods or assault weapons. The Supreme Court s 2nd Amendment Decision,
Correspondent James Rosen, June 28, 2010 After this initial report, Smith introduced James Rosen a
reporter in Washington DC. Rosen equated this case to Brown v. Board of Education and Roe v. Wade,
in that it is a momentous victory for 2nd amendment advocates. Mr. Rosen then discussed the majority
opinion written by Alito balancing it by showing a clip of Paul Helmke from the Brady Center to

fighting against. Helmke emphasized that the ruling applies only to the right to own handguns, and
does not appear to effect waiting periods and restrictions on military grade assault

History Is A Repetition Of Events
History is a repetition of events: war after war, economic crisis after economic crisis, technology
outdoing itself as we speak. A line of events that for centuries have been reported by the world s oldest
storytellers: journalists. Yet, the future of journalism itself has never been as uncertain and
unpredictable as it has been in the past decade and the role of gatekeepers of news has never been
more precarious.
The digital era has brought traditional journalism to the edge, forcing the industry to update its means
in order to sustain the constant commercial pressure it is put under.
On some level, the digital era disrupted an already easily corruptible industry, while from another
perspective, it has opened new opportunities for innovation and renovation, which could mean the
restoring of such criticized profession.
It is inferable that the Fourth Estate , as in journalism acting as a watchdog and as provider of
objective and impartial news, is in great danger.
The pressure to maximise profits and the frequent censorship, both as a result of government control,
and market ownership, have undermined the industry s professionalism as a whole.
At the same time, new media has been claimed to be a dynamic tool to enhance democracy, as it
allows citizens to bypass the traditional mainstream news media and to get access to a plurality of
information coming from alternative and independent news providers and online watchdog
organizations, untouched by any kind of pressure.

methodology designed to eliminate waste, customer driven and ensure increased productivity. The
main drivers of the approach in most organization are threat of competition, need to improve quality,
responsiveness of products and services, while the main benefits are the need to improve client
relationship, change in organization culture and ensuring better cross functional working environment.

Depression In The Lords Of Discipline By Pat Conroy
A majority of people associate the root of depression with mental or emotional trauma, but they do not
realize that in a large amount of cases depression is the result of a preventable problem outside of the
brain. In The Lords of Discipline by Pat Conroy, multiple characters have to confront depression. John
Poteete, an overweight freshman cadet at the Institute, and Annie Kate Gervais, a southern girl with an
undesired pregnancy, exhibit all the signs of depression throughout the novel to the point of
attempting or committing suicide. Even though they are facing events that are mentally and
emotionally distressing, that is not the only reason they are suffering. Depression is not solely caused
by psychological circumstances, but can be traced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In another article written by Kelly Brogan, a psychiatrist with a degree in cognitive neuroscience, she
uncovers that, not a single study has proven that depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the
brain (Brogan 1). Although it was common belief that depression was tied to a chemical imbalance
from distressing life experiences, it is now apparent that this theory is lacking proof. People are still
misdiagnosed when nothing is actually wrong with their brain. This can be seen with another example,
that comes from one of Doctor Izabella Wentz s readers. The reader had been taking antidepressants
for several months and decided to be tested for Hashimoto s. She found that she only needed thyroid
medication to improve her depression instead of spending money on expensive psychiatric care
(Wentz 1). Patients are lacking proper treatment since their treatment is not addressing the cause of
their predicament. This is not only affecting the several people examined in this argument, but is
impacting millions. There are 30 million users in America alone (Brogan 1). To a greater extent,
antidepressants are among the most prescribed, best selling drugs (Brogan 1). This indicates that there
are millions of people who are mistreated and have depression. Physical

Importance of Making Appointments
The puporse of me writing this essay to let my leadership or any soldier in the united states army that
reads this know that I do understand the importance of never missing an appointment. This is my
second time with this plan of action. This is my second time missing an appointment. This is not a
good look for a PFC with a bad repitation already. Missing a scheduled appointment may seem like a
little fuck up, but if you think about it and trace it back far enough it has a negative impact on the lives
of many people involved. it effects the army as a whole, the government, tax dollars, every American

By letting them down, I mean that I basically showed them that I have no discipline to do the right
thing even when no one is around. There is no real excuse on missing appointments. Each Solider
stationed on vilseck post is given an opportunity to cancel an appointments if they will not be able to
make it. By missing my appointment shows them that Im not capable of taking care of myself, so
without a doubt im not ready to take care of someone else or be in the leadership position. I should be
leading the way for other new soldiers to follow but all im doing is showing them that they cant
depend on me because I fail to take care of my OWN self. If I cant even show up for an appointment
at the right building then I cant show up for them when the time they or anyone will really need me. It
shows that I am unreliable. By missing my appointment, it also shows them that I don t practice many
of the several 7 army values. I have no honor because a true American soldier that practices honor
would have did the right thing and had all the necessary information about the appointment, shown up
or atleast have enough heart to at least cancel the apointment . By missing my appointment I also
show that I have no respect for my myself, my leadership or my future soldiers. I am in no position to
even receive leadership role or even be promoted . Im in no position to tell someone what to do or

b) This story is ironic since eventually everything the student have dies tragically. Throughout, deaths

The Theories Of Human Development
Theories of Human development are relevant and matter in the real world . In my clinical practice as a
psychologist in training, I have found human development theories to be very useful in
conceptualizing and understanding my client s distress. I used theoretical frameworks that are based
on theories of human development to guide my interventions in therapy. For example, as a brief
psychodynamic clinician, I look to Freud s theory of anxiety to understand how distress was
developed for my clients and then based on this information I created interventions that assist me in
dismantling my client s defenses in order to reduce their anxiety. It had also guided my behaviors and
actions in therapy so that I do not harm my clients.
Also, drawing from attachment theory, my role as a clinician is to assess the attachment patterns of my
client as well as see how these patterns continued to play out in therapy with me. In role is to provide
my clients with a new experience and a different way of relating and connecting to others. Given my
work, I believe that theories of human development matter and have a real application in the world.
For this essay, I will discuss why theories of human development are relevant and how they matter in
the real world.
Theories of human development are relevant at the individual level because it helped us make sense
and make meaning of our lives. As discussed in Bronfenbrenner s model, the child or the individual is

Neurons are the individual cells in the nervous system that receive, integrate, and transmit

Measuring Fair Value Accounting Standards
Fair Value accounting is a measurement application to value assets and liabilities based on current
transactions among buyers and sellers in the market. In other words, the price market participants pay
or receive in an orderly transaction at a certain date. There are different techniques for measuring fair
values depending on asset and market activity. It includes market approach, cost approach, and income
approach. Financial Accounting standards (FAS 157) defines fair value as the price that would be
received to sell an asset or paid to transfer a liability in an orderly transaction between market
participants at the measurement date (FASB, 2006). Different levels of inputs are also utilized in

In contrast, Historical Cost accounting is defined by recording assets or liabilities on its acquired cost.
The nominal value that a company paid for an asset or recorded a liability. This measurement is based
on a cost principal that states to record assets/liabilities at the acquisition value. In this approach,
assets or liabilities are adjusted to its net realizable value in a systematic manner. For example,
depreciation of fixed assets, amortization of intangible assets, and depletion of natural resources.
These rational and systematics approaches to adjust assets value to bring these instruments to its
carrying value, deviating from the recorded historical cost. HCA (Historical Cost Accounting) and
FVA (Fair Value Accounting) measurements techniques are accepted by both accounting standard
setters FASB (Financial Accounting Standard Board) and IASB (International Accounting Standard
board). Under both measurement approaches, there could be significant differences in reporting,
measuring, adjusting, and disclosing values of assets and liabilities. GAAP (Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles) and IFRS (Internal financial Reporting Standards) mostly apply fair value
concepts to financial assets and liabilities up to certain extent. On the other hand, HCA is usually used
for fixed assets e.g. property, plant and equipment. FVA measurements are not fixed and fluctuate due
to market volatility, but HCA values are mostly fixed and change under certain

The file system in TrackingPoint s self aiming system is a vital part of the scope. The system allows a
shooter to designate a target, which tells the computer to begin dialing in variables needed to make an
accurate shot. It s important to note that the gun will not fire until the shooter has pulled the trigger.
Once the trigger is pulled, the gun will then determine when the best time to fire is and take the shot

We have to imagine the perceptions of other concerning ourselves because unless that person or
people tell us how they feel about us, we will have no way to determine their true feelings. We
imagine these perceptions in a variety of ways. For example, by interpreting nonverbal
communication we can develop an idea as how people perceive us.
7. Our self concepts are affected by the thoughts of others more greatly than we may think. How
others think of us is reflected in how they treat us. A major example of this is bullying. For example,
the bullies view the victim as weaker or lesser than themselves and as a result the victim is left with a
feeling of worthlessness or having no purpose. This changes the self concept of the victim because
now they may be closed off and quiet when perhaps before they were outspoken and sociable.
8. The looking glass self has a crucial impact on children. This is because as they are going through
the developmental stages of self, children will be very conscious of those around them and how those
people view them. For example, if a parent is constantly yelling, even if it is not always directed at the

Effects Of Musculoskeletal Palpation On Athletic Training...
To evaluate injuries, musculoskeletal palpation is taught in many athletic training programs.
Oftentimes, the focus is on accuracy of surface anatomy landmarks instead of the ability to
discriminate qualitative information such as, tissue tone, spasm, or pain response from the soft tissue.
Palpation is a large foundation for evaluation and intervention, a need to further the development of
this skill exists. Due to this the integration of tasks to improve palpation skills throughout athletic
training curriculum may help improve student confidence, accuracy and precision while performing
patient evaluation and manual medicine interventions. Recent research has proven that stereognosis
drills can improve student s palpation skills and provide advanced training to better refine palpation
skills. Below, the definition of stereognosis will be defined, as well as, altering techniques to perform
these drills. 1
The use of manual medicine has become increasingly popular in the profession of athletic training.
This occurs because athletic trainers are seeking new ways to rehabilitate their patients. Typically,
these techniques require the athletic trainer to palpate superficial and deep structures of the body with
great accuracy and discrimination. Ironically, many athletic trainers and students report difficulty with
their personal abilities to feel and discriminate the local soft tissue. Stereognosis is a concept first
introduced by Hoffman, as an individual s ability to

In 1945 the war ended and with Japan being weaker now the French influence returned to Vietnam.
We now see the United States first bit of involvement with Vietnam, where the USA sent money and
supplies to boost the economy in France. They did not, however, help in any other way as they thought
France s presence would be enough to stop the spread of Communism.
The Vietminh didn t like having the French influences back again and Guerrilla warfare was used
against the French. Guerrilla warfare is like general jungle warfare, however the Vietminh dressed as
peasants to disguise themselves and used their local knowledge to make it difficult to detect attacks in
the jungle.
In 1954, the battle of Dien Bien Phu took place and the Vietminh achieved a great victory over the
French, so the French decided to leave Vietnam. Until now the USA had only provided money and

Ethical Ethics Of Ethical Hacking
Abstract
In today s interconnect world the threats posed by hackers is growing. One of many tools
organizations have at their disposal is a unique group of hackers. Ethical or White Hat Hackers intent
is to discover vulnerabilities from a malicious attacker s viewpoint. Ethical hacking involves the same
tools, tricks, and techniques that malicious hackers utilize. White Hat Hackers use penetration testing
in order to test the security of an organizations communications infrastructure. The one difference is
White Hat hackers have the organizations permission to test the vulnerability of the organizations
systems. Ethical hacking is one part of an organizations overall information risk management
program. Ethical hacking allows the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A person only needs to look at the news daily to see that not one person or organization is safe from
the threat posed by hackers. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) information stolen recently
only highlights the threat of such actors. The OPM hack took personal records for any government
employee whom had a security clearance provided by the United States government. The infringement
of personnel data by a group of hackers only raises the concern of privacy for a majority of security
clearance holders. Organizations have to look at all options to securing networks and data to ensure
the security mechanisms that are in place stand up to persistent threats. Most organizations can spend
extraordinary amounts of money to secure data and networks, but still leave vectors that a hacker can
exploit. Once all security aspects are in place a good resource is then to bring in ethical hackers or
White Hat hackers in to test the security of the system. The goal of ethical hacking is to uncover
vulnerabilities from an adversary s point of view so the security system can be improved. Ethical
hacking should be part of the organizations overall information risk management program, which
allows for constant security improvements. In the security life cycle, ethical hacking can be viewed as
a security assessment. Ethical hacking shows the

Similarities And Differences Between Cats And Dogs
Almost every household in America has a pet, particularly a cat or a dog and sometimes even both.
These animals have been humans pets for thousands of years. Cats actually used to be seen as deities
because of an ancient Egyptian goddess. Egyptians would treat them with respect and dignity as they
would treat their own children. Not only were cats treated with respect, dogs were too. Dogs were
seen as faithful companions and were treasured in every family as they still are today. The reason that
people choose either a cat or a dog as a pet differ from person to person. However, sometimes people
think that there isn t much of a difference between the two animals. Although cats and dogs seem
closely related, they actually have some significant differences, such as their attitude about others,
training, and maintenance. One of the most important considerations for all pet owners is how an
animal associates with others. Cats are known for being solitary animals and are generally seen as
selfish creatures that only think about themselves. In addition, cats are usually more self sufficient pets
than dogs and typically don t rely on humans for much besides food and a clean litter box. Dogs, on
the other hand, are pack animals that enjoy receiving and giving love. This clarifies why dogs bond so
well with so many different animals and also humans. Usually, dogs see humans as their pack leader
and follow the directions they give them and also protect them. In addition, since dogs

Insolvent Trading
Executive Summary This research report documents the findings of an empirical study of judicial
findings (of superior courts) relating to the duty to prevent insolvent trading. The duty to prevent
insolvent trading is the most controversial of the duties imposed upon company directors. Those who
support the duty argue that it provides appropriate protection for the unsecured creditors of companies.
Those who oppose the duty argue that it has the effect of making directors unduly risk adverse which
can result in directors too quickly putting companies into voluntary administration or liquidation for
fear of personal liability (which may have a negative financial impact on unsecured creditors).
Overview Key points ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second, provisions such as section 588G may be deterring qualified people from becoming company
directors and the provisions may be having this effect precisely in relation to those companies in
financial difficulties which require the best possible expert assistance from directors. The major
argument used to support the insolvent trading provisions is that they are necessary to protect the
interests of creditors. As stated, insolvent trading provisions have generally ensured a conservative
approach by directors when the company is experiencing financial difficulties. The potential
alternative effects of such a decision are: 1. to preclude the company from trading out of its temporary
insolvency, thus resulting in creditors not being fully paid in respect of their debt; and 2. to avoid the
company dwindling away assets and further reducing any return to creditors. 4 What to do if you
suspect financial difficulty If you suspect your company is in financial difficulty, get proper
accounting and legal advice as early as possible, as this increases the likelihood of the company
surviving. An insolvency practitioner can conduct a solvency review of your company and
outline available options, these may include refinancing, restructuring or changing your company s
activities, or appointing an external administrator. The three most common forms of external
administration are: 1. voluntary administration 2.

Essay On Oscar Wilde
Oscar Wilde (16 October 1854 30 November 1900) was an Irish author, playwright and poet. After
writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London s most popular playwrights
in the early 1890s. During the late Victorian era of the 19th century, when literature was more
economically accessible, Oscar Wilde s works became profoundly famous. Wilde s works have been
critiqued and admired for years due to his exalted style of writing and ability to encode his morals.
Oscar Wilde wrote nine plays in all between 1879 and 1894. His fame as a dramatist rests on four
comedies, Lady Windermere s Fan, A Woman of No Importance, An Ideal Husband, The Importance
of Being Earnest. His plays continue to dazzle audiences even a century after his death. The major
target of Wilde s scathing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The audience of these comedies were mainly the people he criticised (aristocratic and upper middle
class). The most famous aspect of Oscar Wilde s literature is his epigrams: compact, witty maxims that
often expose the absurdities of society using paradox , he criticised the dispairity between mass
culture and high society . Wilde basically gives Victorian society all he has to give as far as his true
feelings for it: He care very little for the high and mighty ways that Victorians would adopt only to
look down on the underdog. Hence, the play did its job at making their lives look fake, trivial, and
worst of all, worthy of laughter! Every page, every line of dialogue, every character, each symbol, and
every stage direction in his plays is bent on supporting Wilde s contention that social change happens
as a matter of thoughtfulness. Art can bring about such thoughtfulness. If the eccentric or unusual is to
be replaced with correct behavior and thought, human sympathy and compassion suffer. If strict moral
values leave no room for question, a society loses much of what is known as

Small Errors In A Long-Variance Rifle
It s all about ringing steel out to 1,000 yards. Hearing the steel is music to the shooters ears. Having a;
properly bedded, free floating precision rifle allows for the shooter to get the best possible results from
their rifle. As a long range shooter, I, know that small errors in any method applied or even a tiny
change in wind will make the difference between that sweet steel hitting music or a disappointing
miss. Whether engaging steel targets or food for the family, it is best achieved with a match grade
rifle. The shooting market is flooded with expensive custom rifles.
They are made for long range shooting and although, they are fantastic; a classic rifle may be
revamped for long range match grade precision. A reasonable or even surplus

  • 2. Features And Functions Of Any Interconnection Devices That... In this report I will be outlining the features and functions of any interconnection devices that you might think of using. In the report I will include Network Interface Card, Router, Switch, Hubs, Gateway, Bridge and Wireless access points. Network Interface Card This provides the hardware interface between a network and computer. It is technically a network adapter hardware in the form factor of an add in card like a PCI or PCMI card. A number of network interface cards work with wired connection and some others are wireless. The majority of network interface cards support either wired Ethernet or Wi Fi wireless standards. Ethernet network interface cards plug into the system bus of the computer and have jacks for network cables, and wifi network interface cards have built in transmitters/ receivers. With modern computers many network interface cards are preinstalled by the manufacturer. All networks interface cards have a speed rating like 11 Mbps, 54 Mbps or 100 Mbps that imply the general performance of the unit. Router A router is a small physical device that can join multiple PCs together. A router is basically a 3 gateway layer device, this means that it can connect two or more networks and that the router operates at the network layer of the OSI model. Home networks normally use a wireless or wired internet protocol router, internet protocol being the most familiar OSI network layer protocol. • 3. The Issue Of The Second Amendment The Second Amendment is one of the most controversial amendments in today s society. There are commonly two sides that fight with each other over the definition of this amendment. The pro gun, or what is commonly referred to as gun nuts , have the firm belief that the American people have the right to not only carry a gun, but to carry any type of gun that they want, while anti gun groups want to get rid of the right to carry a gun all together unless that person is a soldier or police officer. The part of the Second Amendment that is quoted by both sides is always A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed . Did you know that there are actually two versions used by the federal and state government? The only difference is the punctuation. Congress passed, A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free Sate, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed . The States ratified what Congress had passed to, A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed . Do the differences in punctuation and capitalization change the meaning? Many people believe that the Second Amendment means that only the military should have the right to carry guns. They believe that A well regulated militia is referring to trained soldiers, when in fact, the Second ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Characteristics Of The Leadership Qualities Of Santa Anna Leadership Qualities of Santa Anna It began in the pre dawn darkness of March 6, 1836 Mexican general Santa Anna ordered an assault force of 1800 men to unleash its fury on a tiny band of Texans defending a fort called the Alamo. The history behind this tells how Texas was torn away from Mexico, and became part of the United States. This may have been a victory of Santa Anna; however was an even greater victory for the humanity of the defenders. Many believed this was a race war; however was an issue of competing political systems. Santa Anna prepared to give command that would unleash attack. While the weary Americans were catching up on sleep for the first time in two weeks, a Mexican began hollering and yelling, which awoke a sleeping inside soldier. In the video Remember the Alamo , Santa Anna was believed to be a skilled general and a hero of Mexico s fight for Independence from Spain. Santa Anna became president in 1833 implicating federalism but only for a short time. He later changed and suspended the Constitution of 1834 seeing federalist autonomy as a threat to the stability of Mexico and his own grip on power. He very quickly shifted from being a federalist to a centralist to a dictator. Those like Travis that had once stood behind Santa Anna, are now right in front of his guns. Santa Anna guns would then be turned to Tejanos (Texans of Mexican birth), whom were horrified that Constitution would be voided by the president. Upon Santa Anna becoming a ... At the same time they had full control over China which expanded their empire even though they had to sacrifice many resources. They restricted religious rights and dismantled their Civil Service system. They also enforced laws that forbid intermarriage and the Chinese from learning the Mongolian language. They were also violent to others especially during their invasions. However, under all the brutality they helped do some great things for Eurasia. Thus the Mongolian empire had a positive effect on Eurasia because of the Pax Mongolica, the support and spread of religions, and the inventions created by the Chinese. ... Tolerating many religions also helped spread the religions once time for trade came around. Once foreign people started coming, the religion had been adopted by those people, and brought back to their lands. This is how almost every culture and everything spreads throughout the world. Although the Mongols resisted assimilation between their culture and the Chinese, they still tolerated certain religions. Document 6 says An important legacy of the Mongols reign in China was their support of many religions. The support of many religions is an important positive effect the Mongols left on Eurasia because these religions are being spread across Eurasia through trade, and because of this more religions were gaining more supporters across different regions. More supporters for a religion indicates it is being successfully spread to other places, and the religion is being successfully embraced into the society it is being spread too. • 6. Importance Of Tidal Energy Electricity Culminating Renewable Energy Project Nazia Nusrat SNC 1D A. Cook December 17, 2017 Why should tidal energy be a common renewable energy source in the future? Tidal energy is a form of hydroelectricity that is provided from the rise and fall of tides. Due to the Moon s gravitational force, bodies of water rise and fall, the force created can be turned into a form of renewable energy. Tidal power was first introduced in the 19th century in U.S and Europe. In 1966, the Rance Tidal Power Station, was operated in France, being the first large scale tidal system. Tidal energy is more predictable than solar panels and wind turbines. The sun isn t always out to provide light and the wind depends on the weather. Tides are almost always there and the ocean is more understood than the temperature or the sun. Tidal energy is much more reliable and renewable than other sources such as fossil fuels which cause acid rain, and nuclear power and its radiation. Since the ocean is much denser than air, tidal turbines generate more electricity and therefore are more efficient compared to wind turbines. Hydro power in general is considered more efficient and converts the most energy to electricity than other renewable energy sources. Tidal power is also inexpensive compared to other renewable energy sources as shown below in this chart. Tidal power plants also have a very long lifespan. The oldest plant, La Rance, in ... As this bond grew, it permeated mankind s soul in that man needs nature and it is to their benefit that they utilize it to the best of their ability. Thereafter, it became universally acknowledged that man needs nature. In Emerson s time the 1800 s many thing had yet to be discovered, so when Emerson pondered and took a deeper look into nature, he noted his discoveries in his essay: Nature . • 9. Essay Biodiesel vs. Ethanol Biodiesel vs. Ethanol Both biodiesel and ethanol are derivatives of biomass that have been processed to create a liquid biofuel. Both types of biofuels have been touted as secure and environmentally safe alternatives to fossil fuels, however the research verifying these claims is extensive but often contradicting. In the following paper, the efficiency and quality of the two types of biofuel will be discussed. The effects of variables such as source materials and production techniques on efficiency and quality will be considered. Due to the limited scope of this paper however, only generalized net analyses of ethanol and biodiesel production will be considered. The production of ethanol requires one of two source materials, cellulose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An important similarity between production of biodiesel and production of ethanol is that at some point during processing both systems require an input of either fossil, hydro, electric, solar, or wind energy. Thus, in order to determine if the use of biofuels for mobile transportation purposes is more efficient than using fossil fuels, net energy analyses must be considered (Malca and Freire, 2006). It is significant to note that net energy analyses of both types of biofuels will differ based on source matter, differential processing technologies, crop production techniques, and the amount of biofuel being utilized. For example, bioethanol that is produced from wheat has a greater energy renewability efficiency value (ERenEF) (48%) than does ethanol produced from corn. ERenEF measures the fraction of final fuel energy obtained from renewable resources (Maca and Freire, 2006). This indicates that a greater percentage of the energy from wheat based ethanol is renewable, as compared to energy from corn based ethanol. Similarly, different processing technologies affect the energy renewability efficiency of ethanol. The use of ethyl tertiary butyl ether as a fuel oxygenate will increase an ERenEF when compared with the use of methyl tertiary butyl ether is as a fuel oxygenate. When the Ottoman Empire collapsed, Palestine became part of the administration of Great Britain after WWI despite British promises of a definite Palestinian independence. During WWII, several Jewish people fled to Palestine due to the Nazi persecution. Consequently, by the end of this war, there were six hundred thousand Jews in Palestinian territory, which created a coexistence tension. As a consequence, the United Nations divided Palestine in two equal sized regions: Arabic and Jewish. However, after more than 50 years, the world has realized that the conflict has only increased, and become worse and harder to solve. On the one hand, there is the two state solution which consists in splitting both nations in two different states. One for Palestine and one for Israel side by side. The framework of the solution is set out in UN resolutions on the Peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine, going back to 1974 (Abunimah 130) which is a document that stablishes the two state solution as a way to solve the Arab Israeli conflict. And on the other hand there is the one state solution which is also known as the binational state solution. Proponents of a binational solution to the conflict advocate a single state in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, with citizenship and equal rights in the combined entity for all inhabitants of all three territories, without regard to ethnicity or religion (Tilley 250). This solution was presented on November 2007 and has been in discussion since then. • 11. Beer Is The Alcoholic Beverage Of Choice Beer is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks and has played a role in human history for roughly 8,000 years. Beer is the alcoholic beverage of choice in North America and many other parts around the world. It has shaped the culture of human civilization, social interaction and has had a significant contribution to our economy. In order to get a proper perspective on beer you have to look at three main periods; ancient history (the development period), modernization of beer and its effects, and what role beer plays today and where it is going. Archaeologists have uncovered ancient Babylonian beer recipes engrave on clay tablets as early as 3500 B.C. This early beer was very crude and many people today would probably not consider drinking it today as it had bread chunks and had the consistency similar to porridge. To drink this ancient beer people would consume it using straws to filter out sediment and large chunks. Once Beer started to become more popular and commercialized, the first set of laws regulating it were set in place by the Babylonians. Paragraph 108 in the Code of Hammurabi stated and if anyone were caught selling beer for cash instead of corn in order to cheat their customers, they would be drowned as a punishment. The law also put restrictions on ordinary women from drinking beer with the exception of priestesses who could consume it freely. These laws date back to 1754 BC and since this date, beer has been regulated by society. Beer, during the Babylonian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Prokaryotes And Archaea Similarities INTRODUCTION Definitions for Archaea vary, but what is commonly agreed upon is that these are some sort of micro organisms. Some argue them to be their own distinct domain, whereas others think they are merely part of the prokaryotic domain. However many see them as a evolutionary step in between, as prokaryotic relatives to eukaryotes. (x) Since their evolutionary history remains very unclear, it is hard to classify them belonging to a group of their own or belonging to either prokaryotes or eukaryotes. In 1977, Woese suggested dividing cells into three new domains; archaea, eukaryotes and prokaryotes. (x) Before this cells were divided into two main groups: prokaryotic cells, and eukaryotic cells. The DNA polymerase in archaea and eukaryotes are not related to any prokaryotic DNA polymerase, suggesting that these two are of common origin. Other components used in DNA replication are similarly only shared between eukaryotes and archaea (y). For example, the promoter (the part of the DNA that initiates transcription), in archaebacteria has similar sequence and position to its eukaryotic counterpart (x). These characteristics were thought to be unique to eukaryotes, yet were found in archaea as well. • 14. Black And Latino By Roberto Santiago Multiracial children are becoming more common in today s society, many years ago multiracial children were judged for having more than one culture and feeling excluded out from others. Times have changed and according to a recent study from Pew Research Center, about 60% of mixed adults are proud of their different cultures. This statistic perfectly fits the author Roberto Santiago who wrote Black and Latino . On the other hand around 55% feel subjected by racial slurs from non mixed people. Author Jade Snow Wong who wrote Fifth Chinese Daughter never dealt with racism towards herself but her father was racist about Americans and she expresses one culture more than the other. While Santiago accepts both of his cultures and Wong mainly accepts one, they each still faced racism in different ways. Accepting both cultures can be good for a person and a lot easier when dealing with people who simply do not understand multiculturalism. Santiago never felt like he had to choose a race and stick to it, he always felt like he was Black and Latino and that is because he is. Then Europeans took over the land of Australia and forced them to assimilate. This all started in the early 1900 s. Till this day it has affected Indigenous people. Pre Invasion Health Before the invasion Indigenous Australia had great health. There were no infectious diseases until colonization of the European settlers. There also was no such thing as diabetes, high blood pressure, ischemic heart disease or any diseases that were happening in Europe in the 18th century (Central Australian Aboriginal Congress 2014). There was sickness and diseases but not as many as indigenous Australians are suffering today. Aboriginal health had three sets of inter relationships, which were between the land, and people, between people and creator of beings and between people themselves (UK Essays 2013). These militant groups are reported to be stronger than the country s military, and this can be seen from the level of the expansion made by the militancy. During his regime, Ali Abdullah Saleh described Yemen as an island in a sea of al Qaeda (Raghavan). In late February of 2012, a regime change happened in Yemen as Saleh stepped down from the presidency, and Hadi was elected the new president in a one candidate election. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All this has been handed down by the last president of Yemen, Saleh. There is some parallelism that exists between the rise of economic problems and the rise of support for militant groups in several Muslim nations. This is because non affordability, starvation, and preoccupation about the future, may lead some to join or support the cause of the militant groups. Since there are a lot of institutional weaknesses in Yemen, its people can be swayed towards the opinions of these so called Sharia following groups. For example, aside from the Abyan province, the al Qaeda militant groups expanded to the neighboring province of Shabwa. Over there, the militant groups, i.e. Ansar al Sharia, have succeeded in implementing stricter codes of Islamic law (Raghavan). Their expansion and success in implementing Sharia shows that they must have established institutions that enforce the Sharia. This is possible in a state as weak as Yemen, because its state controlled institutions lack effectiveness and efficiency due to the corruption of the government under Saleh. In transcription there is an enzyme called RNA polymerase that unzips the two strands. This allows RNA nucleotides (uracil, adenine, guanine and cytosine) to enter the DNA and connect to the corresponding DNA nucleotides (thymine, adenine, guanine and cytosine) on the template strand. After the nucleotides have been paired, phosphodiester bonds, bond the RNA nucleotides together and this creates a continuous strain of mRNA which is capable of leaving the cell s nucleus, whereas the DNA cannot as the molecule is too big. Though it officially returned McDonald v. A line of events that for centuries have been reported by the world s oldest storytellers: journalists. Yet, the future of journalism itself has never been as uncertain and unpredictable as it has been in the past decade and the role of gatekeepers of news has never been more precarious. The digital era has brought traditional journalism to the edge, forcing the industry to update its means in order to sustain the constant commercial pressure it is put under. On some level, the digital era disrupted an already easily corruptible industry, while from another perspective, it has opened new opportunities for innovation and renovation, which could mean the restoring of such criticized profession. It is inferable that the Fourth Estate , as in journalism acting as a watchdog and as provider of objective and impartial news, is in great danger. The pressure to maximise profits and the frequent censorship, both as a result of government control, and market ownership, have undermined the industry s professionalism as a whole. At the same time, new media has been claimed to be a dynamic tool to enhance democracy, as it allows citizens to bypass the traditional mainstream news media and to get access to a plurality of information coming from alternative and independent news providers and online watchdog organizations, untouched by any kind of pressure. ... In another article written by Kelly Brogan, a psychiatrist with a degree in cognitive neuroscience, she uncovers that, not a single study has proven that depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain (Brogan 1). Although it was common belief that depression was tied to a chemical imbalance from distressing life experiences, it is now apparent that this theory is lacking proof. People are still misdiagnosed when nothing is actually wrong with their brain. This can be seen with another example, that comes from one of Doctor Izabella Wentz s readers. The reader had been taking antidepressants for several months and decided to be tested for Hashimoto s. She found that she only needed thyroid medication to improve her depression instead of spending money on expensive psychiatric care (Wentz 1). Patients are lacking proper treatment since their treatment is not addressing the cause of their predicament. This is not only affecting the several people examined in this argument, but is impacting millions. There are 30 million users in America alone (Brogan 1). To a greater extent, antidepressants are among the most prescribed, best selling drugs (Brogan 1). This indicates that there are millions of people who are mistreated and have depression. • 28. The Theories Of Human Development Theories of Human development are relevant and matter in the real world . In my clinical practice as a psychologist in training, I have found human development theories to be very useful in conceptualizing and understanding my client s distress. I used theoretical frameworks that are based on theories of human development to guide my interventions in therapy. For example, as a brief psychodynamic clinician, I look to Freud s theory of anxiety to understand how distress was developed for my clients and then based on this information I created interventions that assist me in dismantling my client s defenses in order to reduce their anxiety. It had also guided my behaviors and actions in therapy so that I do not harm my clients. Also, drawing from attachment theory, my role as a clinician is to assess the attachment patterns of my client as well as see how these patterns continued to play out in therapy with me. In role is to provide my clients with a new experience and a different way of relating and connecting to others. Given my work, I believe that theories of human development matter and have a real application in the world. For this essay, I will discuss why theories of human development are relevant and how they matter in the real world. These animals have been humans pets for thousands of years. Cats actually used to be seen as deities because of an ancient Egyptian goddess. Egyptians would treat them with respect and dignity as they would treat their own children. Not only were cats treated with respect, dogs were too. Dogs were seen as faithful companions and were treasured in every family as they still are today. The reason that people choose either a cat or a dog as a pet differ from person to person. However, sometimes people think that there isn t much of a difference between the two animals. Although cats and dogs seem closely related, they actually have some significant differences, such as their attitude about others, training, and maintenance. One of the most important considerations for all pet owners is how an animal associates with others. Cats are known for being solitary animals and are generally seen as selfish creatures that only think about themselves. In addition, cats are usually more self sufficient pets than dogs and typically don t rely on humans for much besides food and a clean litter box. • 45. Essay On Oscar Wilde Oscar Wilde (16 October 1854 30 November 1900) was an Irish author, playwright and poet. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London s most popular playwrights in the early 1890s. During the late Victorian era of the 19th century, when literature was more economically accessible, Oscar Wilde s works became profoundly famous. Wilde s works have been critiqued and admired for years due to his exalted style of writing and ability to encode his morals. Oscar Wilde wrote nine plays in all between 1879 and 1894. His fame as a dramatist rests on four comedies, Lady Windermere s Fan, A Woman of No Importance, An Ideal Husband, The Importance of Being Earnest. His plays continue to dazzle audiences even a century after his death. The major target of Wilde s scathing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The audience of these comedies were mainly the people he criticised (aristocratic and upper middle class). The most famous aspect of Oscar Wilde s literature is his epigrams: compact, witty maxims that often expose the absurdities of society using paradox , he criticised the dispairity between mass culture and high society . Wilde basically gives Victorian society all he has to give as far as his true feelings for it: He care very little for the high and mighty ways that Victorians would adopt only to look down on the underdog. Hence, the play did its job at making their lives look fake, trivial, and worst of all, worthy of laughter! Every page, every line of dialogue, every character, each symbol, and every stage direction in his plays is bent on supporting Wilde s contention that social change happens as a matter of thoughtfulness. If strict moral values leave no room for question, a society loses much of what is known as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
