• 12 copyright statements for cultural works – museums, galleries, libraries
• Each machine readable statement use ODRL, plus other Linked Data vocabs
• Each statement is also available in several human languages
• Each statement is expressed as a single URL
• Simple for a cultural heritage organization to use without a big IT investment
• For example “In Copyright” v1.0

4. Driving Rights Adoption?
• IPTC adopted RightsML v1.0 in 2012 and v2.0 in 2018
• But RightsML uptake has been limited
• Does an approach similar to rightsstatements.org help?
• Build upon ODRL and RightsML
• Create a solution which is simple, flexible, descriptive, accurate and
transparent
• Item with IPTC rights statements which must be ANDed together
• Resolve to both human and machine readable statements
