3. SEYCHELLES FLAGS
The National and the new flag is made up of five
oblique bands of blue, yellow, red, white and
green (from left to right) representing a young
country moving into a new future. The colour
blue represents the sky and the sea that
surrounds the Seychelles. Yellow is for the sun
which gives light and life, red shows the people
and their determination to work for the future in
unity and love, while the white band represents
justice and harmony. The green is the symbole to
show the land and natural environment.

delicacies.

as Seychellois. The Seychellois people are a
unique blend of Créole, Indian, Chinese,
French and British Bloods. They lead a very
simple life. The main languages are French,
English and Creole.
On first meeting, shaking people who
openly invite guests into their hands is the
customary form of greeting. Seychellois are
friendly homes. It is a common gesture to
present a gift when visiting someone's
home.
