4. Goal 1 LAL
• In the 2016-2017 school year,
70% of the students at LMS who
are reading below grade level
will meet their reading target
according to the Lexile chart for
the SRI (Scholastic Reading
Inventory) through the
implementation of Independent
Reading within the LA block.
5. Goal 1 – LAL Results
• All students took SRI
• Teachers are setting targets for
next benchmark in January
6. Goal 2 – Math
• Math - For the 2016-2017 school
year, 32% of students will
achieve proficiency on selected
identified skills on the final
benchmark assessment.
7. Goal 2 – Math Results
• All 6th and 7th grade students
have taken the first benchmark
with targeted focus from the
PARCC and results have been
posted on Google Spreadsheet
• 8th grade students will be taking
the benchmarks the week of
12/5/16
8. Goal 3 – Office Discipline Referrals (ODRs)
• In the 2016-2017 school year
LMS will reduce major discipline
office referrals by 20% as
compared to the 2015-16 SY.

12. RAC Road to Success
• On October 11, 2016 we participated in the first RAC Road to Success
for the school year.
• We were observed on the 8 Turnaround Principles (School
Leadership, Climate and Culture, Effective Instruction,
Curriculum/Assessment/Intervention, Effective Staffing Practices,
Effective Use of Data, Effective Use of Time, Family and Community
Engagement)
• We were also observed on Characteristics of Classrooms (9 – physical
environment, print environment, lesson design, procedures and
routines, classroom management, classroom climate)
16. RAC Road to Success Recommendations
• Lesson Plans
• Lessons include differentiation plan. Multiple activities are present and relate
• Possible strategies: Lesson Plan form updated, Double Plan, UDL
• Expectations for Students
• Teacher lets students “own the questions” waits, does not over-scaffold or answer it

• Mrs. Salvati hosted the initial meeting on Tuesday, November
29 at 5:00 PM
