ƒƒUNESCO ––recognisedrecognisedworld natural world heritages: Ha Long Bay, PhongPhongNhaNha––KeKeBang Bang Cave..andCave..andtangible heritages as tangible Hue Ancient City, My Son Holy Land, Hoi An Town.. And intangible heritages as Hue Imperial Music, Gong ChiengChiengin in Central Highland…

4. Situation of AT in Vietnam
ƒƒAccessible Tourism is a pretty new concept in Vietnam. ƒƒAT offers new opportunity for tourism industry reaching towards one of untapped markets, namely, persons with disabilities and older persons, and at the same time for communities creating more accessible environments and new employment opportunitiesopportunities..

Vietnam has just
begun to build tourist
sites accessiblly accessiblly, but
, accessible tourism is
only new, not widely
disseminated due to
poor understanding of

ƒƒSeveral public places like parks, streets, pavements, hotels, musiusmsmusiusms, sport , complex, tourist sites…are renovated accessibllyaccessiblly, ,
ƒƒInternational airports, 4, 5 star hotels are built accessibly.
ƒƒBut the number of accessible places are not much available thru the country.

7. Coordination to develop AT in Vietnam
ƒƒ Development of accessible tourism need inter-ministerial
collaboration among Ministry of
Culture –– Sports and Tourism, Ministry of
Transport, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of
Information and Communications, relevant
agencies, civil societies and disabled persons.
ƒƒ Standard Code on Accsessible Construction
was promugated but its enforcement is still
poor.

8. ƒƒ Advocacy on disabilityAdvocacy disability-related issues, including accessible urismurismin mass media in such as television, radio, newspapers…has been frequently promoted by NCCD Vietnam.
ƒƒ Training on Accessibility Standard and Code for designers, managers of construction companies..socompanies..sothat accessible design is that included in constructions, including tourist sites.
ƒƒ Teaching cirruculumcirruculumon accessibility in on transportation and construction have been developed and applied in Universities of Transport and Architecture.

such as Thiên Cung Cung, , Ðầu Gỗ Gỗ, ,
Sửng Sốt Sốt, Trinh , Nữ Nữ, Tam , Cung
and others. These are really
magnificent palaces of the
Creation on earth.

ƒƒHHạạLong Bay is also attached to glorious pages of Long Vietnamese history, with famous sites such as VânVânÐồnÐồn, a , bustling trade port in the 12th century, charming BàiBàiThThơơMountain, and not very far away from here is the Mountain, BạchBạchĐĐằngằngRiver which witnessed two famous naval battles of the River Viêt’sViêt’sancestors against invaders. Also, ancestors HạHạLong is one of the Long cradles of human kind with the glorious HạHạLong culture in the Long late Neolithic age, discovered at such archeological sites as ÐộngÐộngMangMang, , XíchXíchThổThổ, , SoiSoiNhụNhụand and ThoiThoiGiếngGiếng..

12. ƒƒIn order to promote the accessible tourism Vietnam, coordination among relevant Ministries and organizations is very crucial.ƒƒAlso, awareness on AT should also be promoted through campainscampainson mass media, learning experiences on and best practices in regional countries
